I finally decided to subscribe to Zoosk after a couple of months of creating an account. Within less than 4 hours I had my account locked by an administrator for posting a picture in my new profile of an artwork in which nudity was depicted. I didn't realize that artistic nudity was not allowed. However, I have now been permanently banned from Zoosk for an image that was removed. I think that is a little overkill since it was removed and I now understood that it was in violation of their policy. They did say they would refund my subscription but that I could no longer be a customer.

I have tried other online dating sites which were all disappointing but Zoosk was by far the worst. I must have sent 100 likes, messages, and smiles to women I thought was attractive. It was like a ghost town. There were about 3-4 overweight women that contacted me of which I said hello. I am not an unattractive man. I have never had any problems striking up a conversation with women before, so I know better than that. I can't quite put my finger on the treatment people give each other on these sites, especially Zoosk.
You can't send a picture with your message. There is no selection for political affiliation. Their mobile app has problems with crashing. I bought a three month subscription and it is worthless. Like I said, I have sent out numerous messages and likes, but get no reply from the women who are in my age group, and who I think is attractive. I can see that they have supposedly seen my message and looked at my profile but no reply. Very disappointing.

I have a paid membership and have used their service for a few months but every feature they offer they want you to pay more money whereas other date sites include all the same features in the monthly membership. I think it is wrong that they send auto views and messages trying to hook you into paying for another membership after you cancel. They are expensive enough without paying more for every little thing. Once my membership is expired I will now ever use this site again.

Zoosk is not worth the time or money. You can put in all your preferences (age range, body type, ethnicity, relative distance to you, etc.) yet when it comes time to do the Carousel (where almost 100 random women are presented for a Yes or No selection) most of the women (and men probably as well) do not fit your criteria at all. Furthermore, the ones you say NO to on Carousel, will reappear the next time you play another round. It's just a shotgun approach of throwing any and everything at you, regardless of your preferences. It's a big waste of your time. There are probably better websites worth your time.

Be aware that the site manipulates the members. It informs you of interested viewers when no such thing is occurring. Case in point, I happen to be up at 4AM and I’m notified others are viewing. Obviously fabricated since it is not true that others would be online at this time. I was notified that 5 people checked my profile. Total **, whose up at 3 in the morning and certainly not 5 interested! I sent a note to confirm if they were online....crickets! Same level of crickets when you express interest in members. Find another dating site because this one flat out sucks!

I do not have another email and I want this to be fix and resolved. I feel it was a misunderstanding as well. I want to file a complaint. My email was blocked.

DO NOT USE THIS SITE!!! It is a scam. I signed up for 6 months with a special discount. After loading and using my profile, I determined the following: They do not follow the search criteria you list. Some of their recommendations are hundreds of miles away and out of your suggested age range. Many of the profiles (particularly attractive women) are no longer in effect, thus you get no response from the notes you send. Then Zoosk keeps telling you that the ones you tried to contact, or just viewed, have viewed you.
My profile was hacked and gradually changed. First my name was changed, then my photos deleted and replaced, then the wording of my profile changed. I discovered this about 6 hours after successfully using the site. I could not get back on the site because my login data was compromised. The only way I could go back on the site was to use a different email address and recreate my profile. That was unacceptable. I quit the site, asked them to delete my payment info and asked for a refund. Of course, “their” policy did not allow refunds. If you read the other comments below, Zoosk is notorious for charging you in the future, even after you have quit the site. I have contacted my credit card company and any charges from them will be disputed. Don’t get SCAMMED like I was. Avoid this site. There are other alternatives that work much better.

Simply another unscrupulous with automatic renewals, difficult navigating the site in order to cancel. They bait one with fake profiles and messages in luring you in towards subscribing or renewing. This is a bait and switch and I'm perplexed nobody has taken them to task with a class action legal case. I will be pursuing this in San francisco CA. If many of you would like to join please message me.

Zoosk sends daily emails that are pure lies. When confronted, their response was "We appreciate what you're saying. Just ignore the lies." Write an honest profile that conforms to their guidelines... If they don't like it, they'll gladly turn it into a lie for you. I'm rapidly coming to the suspicion that zoosk is just another scam site that is nothing but mind games.

This site is simply designed to take your money and give nothing of value in return. They even charged an activation fee of $25-really? $80 for nothing. Even with the search filter set for local woman, they give you profiles of women who live 400-4000 miles away. I believe many profiles are outdated and just kept there as bait- usually attractive women, which, not surprisingly, are rare. Twice, there was a third-party "cupid/matchmaker" woman, telling me that that someone was "crushing on me" but too shy to contact me. She told me she was getting off the site because she had found someone and was getting married, but her friend who lived in Regina (like me) was looking over her shoulder (in Ottawa) and really liked me.
When I got back to her that same day and addressed the fact that "how could someone be looking over your shoulder if they live 1000's of miles away", she and her profile suddenly disappeared. I even tried to contact this "woman" who liked me, and told her I liked her- no response. Surprise surprise! As though they haven't scammed you enough, they try to milk you for money for coins, which allow you to know if someone has read your message or not. Really? They have a feature that inserts conversation tidbits for you, (like we need that).
I was talking to a very attractive woman (who lived in Vancouver, of course- me in Regina), who was babbling about how clever and attractive I was, (hot-heels, skirt, the whole nine yards-way out of my league) and this insert happened. I mentioned this to this "woman" (Toadie/Zoosk employee is more like it) saying I think I am being scammed, and she disappeared-not just from the "conversation"- she disappeared off the site, never to be seen again! Overnight! Zoosk even bothered to keep the charade going for several conversation exchanges before this happened. That"woman" never reappeared on Zoosk site again...
They also have a feature telling you someone has "viewed you"-when you click on it, it dekes you out and takes you elsewhere. Another feature asks if you "like someone"- it doesn't tell you anything about them other than the photo- not where they live, or anything. How can you tell if they are of interest to you if there is no info? I have heard that most of the attractive posted profiles are out-dated and just kept there as bait-I am 100% sure this is the case..
I gave up on dating sites and all the scams and fake people years ago, but had no choice but to get back on because meeting anyone now is all but impossible. I deeply regret giving them my money. I have spoken to a couple of real women and they all said the same thing- profiles belong to people who live 100's or 1000's of miles away. This site should be sued, taken off the internet and forced to pay back their victims-it is a highly predatory outfit which is prospering in this pandemic-they all belong in jail-this is a very very dishonest money grab and nothing more. I have read that they will cancel your subscription with no money back if you speak ill of them- I don't doubt that in the least.

I paid pretty much $100 to subscribe to the site and now I find out you have to purchase credits on top of the $100 to see if someone has read your message or to read theirs. This site is nothing, but a money grabbing scam. Do not subscribe to this site. At first I just browsed the site and some local profiles. Then I started getting notifications that so and so viewed you. I checked out the profiles and then I started getting all these Zoosk notifications that so and so messaged you. So after seeing about a dozen people sent me messages I decided to subscribe and replied to every message I supposedly got and have never got 1 response back.
I sent my thoughts in a complaint to Zoosk support and they told me to try harder and gave me a gift of 250 credits so I could use them to see if someone read mine or sent me a message. Coincidence I don't think so. I got baited into thinking I had all these people wanting to chat and come to find I got zero responses! Do not waste your time and money. Save it and give your money to someone that can use it because you'll get more satisfaction than getting sucked in to subscribing to this site! Buyer beware now!!

They indicated they had suspended accounts and were aware of the specific issues. Really? This was the only dating site I’ve used, was active for 3 weeks when I deleted my Zoosk account, and also deleted my email account associated with the site. Pros,
2. It has a mobile app.
3. It's an easy website to use.
4. The search engine is decent.
Cons,
1. Unless you pay for a membership it's useless to be on the website because most members will not paid the extra money for the privilege for anyone to email them.
2. There are different tiers of memberships so some features you don't get with the basic membership.
3. Unless you purchase a multi-month membership the price isn't reasonable at all.
4. Now to the juicy stuff. Zoosk WILL NEVER PERMANENTLY DELETE YOUR PROFILE. I emphasize this because even if you deactivate your account if you happen to be a good looking person they'll keep your profile up making it look like they have more desirable members and use it to make people think they have people interested in them. These are ghost profiles.
5. Though I have met real people on Zoosk there aren't that many real profiles with new websites like Bumble, Tinder and SnapChat. Websites like Zoosk and even POF are dying because of the newest swipe platforms.
6. If you're not all that good looking then don't even bother signing up for Zoosk (or any dating site come to think of it). Sadly looks are going to be 99.99% of anyone's success online.
7. Lastly make sure you not only cancel your membership ahead of time, but also inform your bank or credit card service TO NOT PAID ZOOSK ANYTHING so they don't rip you off. I've heard complaint from people that Zoosk took money from them even after they cancelled their paid subscription.
8. Don't be on the site for more than a month tops because after that you'll mostly see the same profiles and very few new ones so the monthly packages aren't worth it.
All in all with the pandemic going on it was a great way for me to kill time, but if you have other way of meeting women I'd avoid Zoosk (and most other dating sites).

Not to mention the fact that I do not feels safe now, these men said they were deployed in Syria on "peacekeeping missions". I never knew this was an epidemic until now. Ladies - beware the man that falls for you instantly. And if ANYONE asks for money, start doing your research. I've been on site for about four years. Have met one member in all of that time that just wasn't what we wanted ... Zoosk will ignore your desired mates and send what I think are fake, model like profile pics expressing interest, which is not what I'm searching for thankfully...or sell you their "Boosted" membership. Your profile will appear before anyone else's which I think a waste of money??? More importantly, found out this week that poor members cannot "block" Boosted members at all! You will think they are blocked until they suddenly reappear in your Messages box the very next day. This went on for weeks before I reached out to Zoosk expressing my concerns as I was clearly becoming harassed by a man I was blocking daily...choosing the "harassment" entry as my reason.
Instead of blocking his access to me...which I'm told they can do, they chose to ignore my cry for help to get the extra money he paid for "Boost." I spent over a week sending them screenshots of him per their request...Their answer to my feeling this man was creeping me out? 15 more days on site and 250 coins I guess to buy him a gift???! I cannot believe all of the time I just wasted on formatted email replies with names assigned to them so you think you're connecting with live rep who cares about your privacy and Zoosk's not so reliable reputation. I cancelled. Too weird for me. The matches were so far from my initial " dream" man checklist I have to assume it's due to lack of members as I am not a bad match...just won't settle because they lost members due to stunts like this! I was too lazy to join more reputable site but now's the time! That's if a real person sends me real refund as promised! Keep your money. Try others as I should have done!

Then realized, despite other glowing reviews online, you cannot message for free. Or even see who messaged you. Or what they said. So updated my 'story' to reflect that I would not be upgrading because of the untruthful reviews, and they sent me an email saying they had 'approved" my 'story update.' ZOOSK is one of the more affordable dating sites but the quality, function and especially poor customer service reflect the lower cost. I'm on three dating sites and ZOOSK has by far been the least effective. Even though you paid, they have these little scams within the site which force you to buy coins to see profiles. The funny part is, that there is a workaround to that using the search option or clicking on their profiles when they are online.
Customer service is surprisingly adversarial when there is no need to be. They don't take suggestions or complaints seriously or well and you can almost picture them laughing in their offices at their silly and sad clientele. They have an opportunity to make people's lives better and do some good but apparently they've found a profitable business model and are not concerned with making matches, just making money. I joined because ZOOSK was listed among the top 10 dating sites but that was not my experience.

I plan on making this one of the lengthier reviews you have probably come across, so be prepared for an essay, folks. I am writing a longer review because I feel the need to provide readers with the most details so they can avoid making the same mistakes I have made in my time dealing with Zoosk. For those who may not want to read the full review, however, here is an abridged version: avoid Zoosk if you are looking to join an online dating site. There are FAR better options out there. With that said, we can now segue into the unabridged version. Enjoy!
I joined Zoosk in January of 2019. I signed up for the 6-month subscription. This is the first (and likely last time) I have used an online dating site. I figured it was time to jump into the relationship world, seeing as I have not been in a relationship before. I was ready to find a woman. After taking some time (not as long as I should of, too), I decided to purchase a Zoosk subscription, for it was the cheapest of the big three (eHarmony, Match.com, & Zoosk). Looking back, I should of taken their fairly low prices as a serious red flag, but alas, I did not.
Fast forward to after I sunk over $100 of my hard-earned money into the website. I figured that if I wanted to make a go of Zoosk, I would need to put SOME money into it. After sinking around $100 into the site, armed with my subscription and blissful ignorance, I sent out messages to several women that appeared to be in my area. Several weeks went by where the only message I received was an auto-generated message from what appeared to be a bot. In nearly two months, that was the ONLY message I got back. Yes, you read that correctly; the only one. Remember, I had been messaging people in fairly large numbers up to that point in time. Needless to say, I was discouraged, yet decided to march on under the ruse that I would have a better experience in the future.
At this point, I had been on Zoosk around five months. Around this time, I still had very little luck on the site. I had only gotten two other messages from girls, both of which sent me one message then never responded after my initial response. Now that my six months was coming to an end, I was not sure if I was going to give it another try. I didn't make the decision in time, and my subscription auto-renewed. Not wanting to waste the money, I knew I had to trek on. I would have to have better luck this time, right?
Wrong. Over the next six months, I got ZERO messages even though I was practically spamming other users in an effort to generate a conversation with a real female. I was smarter this time and made sure to cancel my subscription well in advance of the renewal date. Thankfully, I was not charged after that (a problem I have read about Zoosk members having).
If you have gotten this far into the review, I applaud you. Anyway, I have no intention of giving Zoosk any more of my money. Overall, they are a complete scam of a company preying on romantically frustrated people, conning them out of their cash. The chances of you talking to a real human being are slim. I provided so many details in this review to hopefully convince others to stay away from Zoosk. Don't make the same mistakes I did. You'd be better off spending your money on a gym membership or a diet to better yourself. In conclusion, Zoosk cares little for their users. Their site is littered with bots, scammers, inactive accounts, yet will still ask for money for nothing in return.

Many of these men are not really interested in meeting anyone real. They mostly want to text a few times and chat. Then they are on to the next. The site matches you with members regardless of your preferences and distance requirements. I also believe they keep a large database of members in their carousel feature who are no longer active to show a huge choice of men that no longer exist. Don't waste your time or money on this dating site as it's a sham.

I had signed up for this service back in 2016. I never signed up for the premium subscription, and had just created a free profile. I received a notification that a man had viewed my profile and had also sent a message indicating that he wanted to chat. This was a good looking man who also lived in my small town. When I clicked on it, it immediately prompted me for payment to see his message. I decided to forget about it, but was still interested in seeing his message. A few days later, I see his profile on another dating site that I belonged to, that does allow free messaging back and forth. I decided to say hello, to him, and send a message. I received absolutely no response whatsoever. So I'm convinced that Zoosk used this man's profile to send a fake message, in order to get me to cough up some cash.
In conclusion, steer clear of this website and it's deceptive practices to lure people in.

2) FAKE views
3) FAKE notifications that someone wants to chat with you
4) FAKE notifications that someone wants to meet you, etc...
When you try to chat with someone after receiving a notification that the person wants to chat with you, you will likely NEVER receive a response. It's like being told by a bully in school, "Hey, that girl said she likes you; go talk to her!" Then, of course, you go and the girl has absolutely no interest in you. I received an e-mail notification that someone wanted to meet me; the pic in the email looked 1-2 decades off of the stated age, and she was listed as being local, but the picture had an out-of-state telephone number written over the face of the lady (which I've heard means the chance is high of the person being a prostitute, if it's even a real person voluntarily posting the pic). Then when I logged into Zoosk, I noticed no such person ever even viewed my profile. According to reviews here, this is a very common occurrence with Zoosk.
Then I played the carousel to about 50% of potential matches, most of which were not even in my same state, and within a couple minutes had 4-5 'views' from the same women, most, again, from out of state and surely wouldn't have bothered looking if they were real women. Again, another very common Zoosk failure. Then one young lady I'd sent a message to earlier yesterday allegedly 'viewed' me again, and I saw a notification pop up saying that she wanted to chat. So I clicked to her profile to begin chatting and noticed she hadn't even read the first message I'd sent (BTW, you have to pay to see if someone has read any messages sent to them each time after...) Many hours later, after midnight, my phone received a notification that my message had been read, and I noticed she had sent me a message, too. I decided to wait until the morning to view it.
I received a ONE-WORD REPLY -- 'yes' to asking if she lived in the same city with the rest of the chat completely ignored, and yet it now shows we're listed as a 'connection,' lol... I replied, 'Nice,' as it was obvious I was wasting my time. I then shortly later received a notice that she wanted to chat. I also paid to see that she had allegedly read my last message. So I sent a message stating the app notified me that she wanted to chat, and I asked if she would like to chat a little. That was allegedly 'read' but not replied to. Then just a bit later I get the notification again that she wants to chat, though she never does...
This is all experienced in just 2 days since I became a paying member and posted one profile pic. I've uploaded a few more today that I felt were a little better just to see if anything might happen. And I filled out all the information -- story, interests, ideal match, etc... So far, nada except for 2-3 views from the same ones that live a state away and are almost surely bots, anyway. They can't even get bots from the city I live in to play mind games? lol.
I hadn't used a dating site since I met my recent wife of 5 years on Match, but I've been able to at least talk to and meet a few women via Match about 6 years ago, and I at least had a fairly lengthy conversation over a few days and nearly met up with one lady via Plenty of Fish 6 years ago. I sincerely doubt the same would happen on Zoosk regardless of how much time (and $) I invested. How can guys be motivated to put effort into messages they know almost certainly won't ever be seen by a real person? You'd be better off trying to make a match with a hardened political opponent you'd have an argument with online, as at least that person exists. Hopefully Match and POF haven't gone heavily in this direction, as well.
*Also, I will make sure to cancel my debit card before canceling the service, as many reviews on this site mention that the company will still charge you after cancelling. You're made to sign an agreement when using PayPal that they can use whatever other method of payment is on the account, so I guess I'll have to delete my bank off there around that time, as well.
In the end, upon realizing you've paid for 3 months of what basically amounts to a horrible carnival ride full of fake garbage with nothing more to see beyond the first 1-1.5 days, it's better to accept and take the loss and to avoid wasting any more time or energy on the site. I got more enjoyment out of writing this review than using that trash site. The only 'positive' thing I've gotten from the site is the ONE-WORD REPLY, lol. I can only say that Zoosk made me feel worse about myself in not being completely 100% confident that real women just won't respond to me, though I'm pretty sure it's all bots. It just amazes me that Zoosk is somehow in ANY measure considered one of the top dating sites.
What a sham(e). I would have been far better off spending the money and time on self-improvement, which is surely a much more realistic way to try and gain interest from women you can actually meet. Hopefully a civil lawsuit will be brought forth at some point and could help reform or even simply help lead to putting such scams out of business. I have been a member of the Zoosk dating site for some six months. Today (20 June 2020) I attempted to log into my account only to find that I could no longer access my account. Mind you that I had subscribed to this site. I call the customer service number to complain that my account has been hacked but only to find out that Zoosk had discounted my account. The individual that I was speaking to was from a foreign country because I couldn’t understand her English. Which by the way, makes the customer service interaction even more frustrating. I asked her why my account was disable. She gave me an explanation that I couldn’t understand a word that she stated. I wouldn’t advise anyone to subscribe to this dating site. With all the scammers on the site Zoosk disabled my account without any explanation. Buyer be aware.

If you want to be censored when trying to legitimately chat with someone and let them know about yourself, then this is the site for you. So here it is, I found my step sister's profile on Zoosk several times over the year and a half and I asked her about it the first time I saw her profile. She replied, "Oh no I was only on there a quick second, why?" Since then a friend asked me about my sister because he thought she was seeing someone, and she is sooo... Using this app is much like window shopping. There's no clever algorithm to assist in matching like minded individuals. The few categories for self description, if actually answered by participants, are for the viewer to consider individually as left to the participants to basically describe themselves based on three categories: my story, my perfect match, and my ideal date. Many do not share anything or very little.
Participants can choose interest icons, can share their height, and religious identifications. I do recall answering questions regarding my specific interests to include if I were looking for man or woman, ethnicity of interest, and distance willing to limit candidates. However, it did not seem to apply in any way form of fashion. I found it HIGHLY frustrating to get messages from individuals of considerable distances away, from individuals both 20 years older and younger, and from ethnic groups not of my own.
Basically, it was WAY TOO MUCH digging through the weeds from individuals simply unsuitable to my stated interests. I did not at all find it flattering to open the app and have 70+ messages or likes. I spent 6 months and have not been satisfied. I have started talking to an individual over 800 miles away 2 weeks before my prepaid membership is over. Unless a miracle happens with this person, my experience was no less entertaining than the word app on my phone.

Also appears to have robotic "looked at your profile" kind of functions that make it look like members are actually looking you over...however, very few of these profiles really communicate. The real members I have met on this website laugh about how abysmal it is, that most of the profiles are fake, and that they definitely will not renew. That tells you everything you need to know.

I like(d) Zoosk a lot. I joined in April 2020 and was finding very acceptable profiles I was interested in. All the sudden my account stopped working after I received a message within the app from someone claiming their friend was interested in me to click to see their picture. (If you get one of these dont click on it). The message came from within the Zoosk app so I never thought it was a problem. After that I could not log in so I changed my password, and got in on my phone but it wouldnt let me on any other device.
The next day my new password would not work even on my phone. Finally I found how to contact tech support and they told me they blocked my account due to questionable activity- they never notified me they did this. They told me they could not reinstate my account but would move my story over from the blocked account to a new one (you must use a different email address). So I did. The next day the new email address no longer worked and it would not allow me to change my password- although presented as an option- your only option. I did get in though, by clicking on a link in an zoosk email that came saying someone was interested in me- very insecure. Then when I went to check out my profile zoosk did not move my story over from my blocked account but there was a story on my new account— it said “I'm fat and working on that problem”. I was beside myself. First I am not, and second that story was associated with my photos.
I tried to change this profile story but it wouldnt allow me to. Then I went and tried to disable my account and the disable button was grayed out. All I could do was pause my account. I have never had so many issues with a website. These are technical issues of security and privacy. I requested my money back as I will never expose my personal information on a site with these huge technical issues. You have to be able to trust a site with your personal information and this one is not trusted.

Statistically speaking women outlive men yet there are so many men (generally always good looking) that claim to be widowed and are between the ages of 58 to 63. The general story is have one or two kids not at home, one out of the country at a college, etc. or with another relative either overseas or in the U.S. (for Canadian sub-scribers).
They seem to be either self-employed, engineers or in the oil industry and often work out of the country. It is like they all use the same play book - information is almost identical. When you start asking questions about how long they have been widowed, what happened to their spouse and personal questions they either get annoyed - or change the subject or stop communicating. I have also seem the same picture - maybe with a different shirt, etc. on the site claiming to be from a different area but they all seem to be in jobs you can't trace.
I keep getting reviewed by the same people and have conversed with some that claim they have not either reviewed me more than once or twice or did not indicate they wanted to meet me. This will be a longer review, but will give you some guidance on navigating your way on Zoosk. First of all, if you've read other reviews, you will repeatedly see claims that Zoosk has lots of fake profiles, would be scammers and obsolete profiles. Unfortunately, all very true. However, there are quite a few legitimate users as well. Here are the suggestions that I would make to the guys, but I caution you, you probably won't like what you hear, but it's the cold hard truth.
First of all, just use common sense. Since the beginning of time, guys have wanted pretty, sexy and nice girls. The reality is, that pretty, sexy, nice girls don't typically need to meet men online. So, when you see a girls picture and she's a 8, 9 or the ultra rare 10, there is a 99% chance, that she's not legitimate. Also, in today's day and age, when women don't want to be judged by their looks, or objectified, when a user doesn't put anything in her bio section and thus she is solely using her looks to get attention, RED FLAG!
When she looks 20, but says she's 45, she really is 20 (RED FLAG!). When she only posts 1 picture and it looks like a model photography shot, RED FLAG! When her bio is in broken English, but she says she is from small town America, RED FLAG! Girls born in America don't say things like "Im nut two gud at sellin meself owt." RED FLAG!
So, what's my suggestion you ask. First of all, have realistic expectations, shoot for 5's, 6's and if you are feeling crazy, reach for an ever elusive 7. But, remember this, on Zoosk, I've found that 99% of the women over 40 are divorced and have kids. So, you are potentially signing up for a package deal (kids) and about to date someone that some other guy got sick of, or maybe she got sick of the guy, or in my case anyway, a mutual sick of scenario.
Also, I see a lot of men on here that are dissatisfied, because they message a girl and they don't hear back from her. Don't be upset by that, just be realistic and honest with yourself. Many girls (8's, 9's and 10's) are in fact, fake profiles, that are auto generated. Many others are obsolete. I saw one the other day that said how busy she was going to be with graduate school through the summer of 2016. Yet another who said she was moving to New York in 2017. Now add to that the women that really aren't available at all, but set up a free account to see if they "still have it". They can't respond to you, because they're married with 3 kids. Then, add to that, the women that are just here to flirt online.
My point is that I think 1 out of 10 Zoosk members are probably legitimate and are legitimately looking to meet a guy face to face, Then, just remember this. As shallow as you and I might be as men, looking for a pretty face and a nice body, women are often looking for the same in a man. So, you send her a message, she clicks on your picture and says I can do better, or I already have better, then you're not going to hear from her.
Finally, remember that most Zoosk members are on Zoosk initially for free. So, if you send a woman a message and she's a "free member", for her to even respond to you, it's going to cost her $60 for a minimum 3 month membership. So, my conclusion is to have fun with this online potential dating thing, but have very low expectations, because you and every other guy is going to have very low results. That's just the reality of the thing.
Most dating sites have a 1 star rating. I signed up for a well known paid site that starts with an e and they sent me over 200 moderately local potential matches. I tried this because I figured there were no free users just messing around or fake profiles since it required a several hundred dollar commitment up front and you know what I got? 190 women with kids that were 3's 4's and 5's and about 10 never married women, that made it clear that they didn't need a man, but for the right handsome man, well educated, well traveled, physically fit, finically well off, could read their every thought, melt their hearts with his mere existence, they would grace a man with her company. Funny part is, they were also 3's 4's and 5's that I wouldn't give the time of day to.

So after removing myself from 3 other sites because they seemed to be just hook up sites, I decided to give Zoosk a try.. From day one, I like all others started getting want to meet messages..You could have a different date every day if you wanted to..Just saying.. I stumbled on a couple of people that I was really interested in...However I clicked the like button and waited..The "one" that I was very interested in sent me a message the next day explaining that he worked third shift and was just now getting to write me. We exchanged a couple of messages on the site and then I gave him my number so I wouldn't have to keep on getting on the site to talk..That was 5 days ago and we have talked for hours daily since. We have a date this friday and neither of us can wait! I was concerned because he lives in Alabama and I am in Ga. But he has assured me that distance is no issue if we are right for each other..
I also met another man from the site this past week and he is who he says. He only lives a few miles away but I am so much more interested in Alabama..So we will see.. However I do have to agree to a lot on this site..Like you getting the same hits over and over and or having the same people "view" you daily which makes no sense..
It has shown that Alabama has viewed me every day and I keep forgetting to ask him if he is doing that. He only had like 2 photos which were head shots, and has the most beautiful smile..He asked me on day 2 if I wanted to view his facebook page and I thought, ok that will show me he is real..So I accepted..When I saw his FB page, there was a picture there that led me to believe he may be a little heavier than I like so I just nicely asked him to send me a selfie of his whole self..Hes gorgeous!! And it's not him in the heavy picture..Thank God!! I think this may really go somewhere unless the decision. Is made after we meet in person that we arent a fit..I don't see that happening but we will see friday ..
I have only tried to talk to maybe 5 guys on the site and have gotten responses from every one..And it's not the same message!! However if you look around on the site, you can choose to send out a predetermined message sent by the site to a lot of people..Like one was "Hi..I'm interested..If you are too, get back to me"..So that may be what you are getting..I dont know ..But so far so good as far as I see it. And if Alabama doesnt work out which I dont foresee, I will be back looking again..The one near me is a great guy..So you never know..Just relax, and if one dont work for ya. Move on..And If you arent happy, cancel..But before you do remove your pictures and credit card info and they cant keep using it..Also report it to your bank or "lose" that card and get it replaced. Yes that's an inconvenience..But it beats getting charged when you dont want to.. Good Luck..Happy Hunting...

It seems this company preys on the free users. As a free user, you get notifications that users like you or want to meet you. You are unable to reply to them unless you get a paid subscription. Once you pay, voila! those "users" are gone or do not reply to your message. I live in a large metropolitan area, so one would think there would be a lot of real users in my area. However, when doing a search, I find the majority of users have photos (often just one photo), but nothing filled out in their profiles. I would not be surprised if ALL of those are fake accounts or old accounts resurrected by Zoosk to create the illusion of having active members. Think about it... Why would anyone open an account and post their photo(s) for the purpose of finding a companion, yet they are unwilling to say ANYTHING about themselves or what they are looking for.
I also do not trust the views (of my profile) that we are notified of. I get views from some of the same "users" several times EACH DAY. Unsurprisingly, they have blank or useless info in their profiles. When I send them a message, no response. If they are real, why would they keep viewing me with no intention of any communication at all? They are just bots trolling us. Finally, just for fun, I managed to make a Connection with what I assume was a fake account. Now, whenever I sign on (any time of the morning, day, or night) in 5 - 10 minutes my "Connection" shows up online as well. Really?! This is only possible with a bot account.
Shame on Zoosk for manufacturing and selling false hope. I think the only chance you really have at meeting someone on the site is to check often for new accounts to show up in your area. Then, act fast on meeting them. PS - If you put anything on your profile mentioning fake accounts, the Zoosk moderators delete that section. Can't expose or even hint at that dirty little secret.

The masterminds behind Zoosk are dishonest, unethical, the whole thing reeks of PURE FRAUD! I paid for the service, yet they dictate every detail of content of my profile. It actually doesn't function unless you comply with all their dictates, especially entering a photo. To start out I chose not put a photo in the profile. Immediately, there were multiple messages from men, "Hey, you don't have a picture", every one, without exception, said the same thing.
One man (a photo probably grabbed off internet!) who first appeared to be at Isle of Palms, South Carolina, made the usual statement, "Hey, you don't have a photo". At that time, I put a photo on my profile. Then he requested my phone number, not to talk, but to text, "So WE can learn more about you," verbatim! His sad story was that he is widowed four years and is a GAS AND OIL ENGINEER, has worked, traveled, for government and big companies, was returning from Canada in two weeks.
Well, we all know engineers are smart, well educated people. This man was NO engineer. His use of words, spelling, language generally all indicates to me he was either a third-grade dropout or was of a different native language, not English. At that point, there was no doubt in my mind that he was a fraud, I got back on Zoosk, and there was the EXACT SAME photo, same man in a suit, in the state of WEST VIRGINIA, not S. Car. I'm sure that the photo was randomly picked from the internet, not of a legitimate "man seeking woman" Zoosk website claims people to be. Another man who purported to be a reasonable distance from me, the same language, "Hey, you don't have a photo." Each and every one were the same words. He completely disappeared after my photo was visible.
I called Zoosk to complain, 16 people ahead, I chose to wait. A minute or so, there were 19 people ahead, another minute or so, announcing 23 people ahead. I was being pushed farther down the line, so I entered information for them to return my call. Whenever I answered my 6s-plus iPhone, the behavior of the phone was erratic, different from anything I've ever seen after using the phone for three years. Instead of the phone app information remaining visible after answering, it immediately FLIPPED TO THE TEXT MESSAGE I'D RECEIVED, that became visible, from "Zoosk photo of non-member man in suit."
All this tells me that this website is perpetrating fraud and deceit on the public, are misrepresenting their true intention of simply scamming the public for every dollar they can get. A state prosecutor somewhere should look into this, and/or a lawyer who sues lowlife scum for money! This is a scam, people!! Don't be ripped of by ZOOSK!!!!

I believe there are many ways to verify the real identity of the person signing on the dating sites. I am surprised people who designed these websites never thought about it. Your engineers just thought about getting more and more subscriptions (this is dumb thought and short term income) rather than getting a good image in market and become leader (this is smart thought and long term income).
Please come up with smart ideas to add checks in your software to rule out fake people. Trust me your site will be leader if you could at least get real profiles on your site. More than 70% of the men there mentioned incorrect age. For example they are 54 and mentioned as 39. Even the name and marital status is incorrect. I went to the phone app and when tried to deactivate the account the button to deactivate spins forever and won't do anything. Then I tried to remove the Credit Card info and THERE IS NO WAY TO REMOVE THE CC. Totally SCAM site, stay away... I'll be reporting the fraudulent transaction to my credit card company.

I have been a Zoosk client for many years and recently paid to update my 3-month subscription. Someone hacked into my account, even though I never disclosed my password. This hacker sent a strange long message to many women on Zoosk in South Africa, a similar message to one I received last week. Zoosk sent me a prompt to change my password, which I did, but was informed my account was blocked. I have sent many emails to Zoosk to reactivate my account....to communicate with me. Their customer service is useless/hopeless/non-existent. They have not communicated in any way with me. It is impossible to get a human being on email or any other way. I have sent many emails to support@zoosk.com, to no avail.
They take your money and then block your account, despite my years of being a customer...and fail to respond or communicate in any way. I strongly advise other consumers to boycott them and not to pay a cent to them. They are shockingly poor. It was their system that allowed my account to be hacked. Why should I, a long-time customer, be penalized????

They let you review their members for free...which I and others have done, but you cannot communicate with them until you subscribe...which is fair....I kept track of five members that were perfect matches. The instant I subscribed, every one of those members disappeared. Along with those five, most of the attractive, classy, and educated members also disappeared...I and others get left with folks that my grandmother may have known...and she passed 20 years ago. You may still find someone, but you're not likely to get what you saw when you had your free look. The time span between my being able to see the members I was interested in and the time it took me to subscribe and try to find them again was less than 12 minutes. Don't waste your money, or more importantly your time.

I’ve been on the site for a while despite the problems and it is not getting better. Zoosk does not monitor profiles. There are many fake profiles by scammers. I’ve met about (10) real people and had over (100) scam attempts. Zoosk leaves the profiles of women up long after they cancel service creating g the impression of active accounts. They will even “match” you with someone who then never respond to messages. This is all designed to keep men onsite paying fees as opposed to providing a real service to its customers.

Although I was very successful on Zoosk, meeting my husband, my concern is that I deactivated my account/removed my account and have written confirmation from Zoosk that I did so 3 years ago. In my profile I stated that I had met a wonderful man and was married. Now, 3 YEARS later, I am still receiving daily Zoosk emails telling me about the people reviewing my profile. My profile was supposed to have been removed 3 years ago! That means they are perpetrating fraud on the public. Plus, you can pay real money to send "flowers" to someone on Zoosk. They're not real flowers of course, but the sender is paying real money. If they are sending them to me...I am not even supposed to be on the Zoosk site! I am concerned about this fraudulent, in my opinion, aspect of Zoosk.

Zoosk worked for me in meeting a man with whom I formed a long term relationship. However, once I cancelled from Zoosk, I continued to get messages that this one and that one wanted to meet me. I have been off Zoosk for 18 months now. I think it is a shame that men are still seeing my photo and info and then feeling cheated by never getting any replies. From that point of view, I think that people could easily become depressed if they are reaching out to profiles and never getting any replies. I think that dating sites should be forced to remove all your info once you have cancelled or allowed your membership to lapse.

This is a repeated problem for me with Zoosk…. Over the past several months I cannot sign in. Only the first time were they able to rectify the problem. The techs, of which there have been many, are unable to assist...or are unwilling. Now they tell me to sign in with another email. The excuses are varied. The biggest problem is that I am a newer user and as I only have the one email, I have had very limited use of the site. I have asked for my money back but it only gets me nasty responses and then they're gone. I am still stuck with the problem and, apparently, no chance of a refund!
In addition, because I am older (upper 60's) the number of male members is very limited and I received the photos and bios of the same people over again. Sometimes twice in the same email! They don't want to hear that either. I just want the problem to be over. I think I deserve that. I treat everyone the way I want to be treated. I don't believe in getting nasty or rude. It gets you nowhere and it's unnecessary. However, in this instance, manners and patience do not work. I do not know whether it is retribution but every day I receive an email asking if my problem is rectified! It's shocking to see that they're so disorganized and unwilling to help me. I would NOT recommend anyone join this dating site if you're over the age of 60.

I set up criteria which included: maximum distance, age range, and no smoking and marked them all as highest of priorities. None of these priorities seem to be used in the search results, as I am CONSTANTLY getting likes and hearts and messages from men way older (as much as 13 yrs!), distances up to 200+miles away, Also, when I select the “X” to say I’m not interested, these same men show over and over again in the carousel and picks that Zoosk sends me. How many times do I have to say “No” to the same person? Also, some of the results they send come through really small when you get the option to read the profile. Why?
Finally, the location distances are definitely not accurate as Zoosk will state a person is say 50 miles away and you learn that they are really more like 90 miles away. It’s deceiving. The good thing is that Zoosk appears to be growing in membership so hopefully they will address these issues as it’s a little disconcerting to new, nervous women (and maybe men) to not trust the company to adhere and respect our profile requirements and responses once we provide them.

When I contacted Zoosk, they informed me that they would refund the money. They did not address how or why the card was charged on an account I had not logged into in nearly a year.
After further communication with their customer service team, they informed me the account had been logged into that day and the charge was authorized in the account - my account had been hacked. When I asked Zoosk for any and all information related to the hack in order for me to report it to the police, Zoosk informed me that I would need to obtain a subpoena in order to get access to my own account information. Hacking an account is illegal. Fraudulent use of a credit card is also illegal. Zoosk's refusal to provide any information on my account, thus preventing me from filing a police report, is deeply troubling. I would not trust any business like that with my payment information much less personal information.

DO NOT PAY FOR A ZOOSK SUBSCRIPTION! I made the mistake of paying for a 6 month membership and have been fed with nothing but fake profiles. If you have friends who are trying online dating please share this with them so they don't make the same mistake I did. This one girl mysteriously messaged me almost immediately after I complained to Zoosk about fake profiles and requesting a refund. We chatted for roughly an hour, I sent a few questions designed to get a specific response, which she answered incorrectly. The conversation eventually led to us agreeing that online communication was lame, and that we should meet. When I asked her when she'd like to meet, that's when the messages stopped.
I suspected her profile to be fake, and mysteriously after I reported her profile (and without a single response from Zoosk), it disappeared. Zoosk does not seem to be a "company" that is legitimately trying to help singles meet. It seems quite clear with the MULTIPLE in app purchases to do even the smallest things, that they are just in it for the money and will go to great lengths to keep members paying.

The site looks nice, has good qualities, but their algorithms were written to make deceptive interaction. For example, there is a bright green dot indicator by a member's profile photo to indicate the member is online. That's nice. But at 3:00 am many of the members you might view will appear offline yet send you a 'message' after they are viewed.
In many instances such 'messages' were never sent as verified by paying subscriber fees and sending a real response message only to be told by the member there was never a message sent by them in the first place. This does NOT happen rarely, it happens everyday on multiple occasions. This is Zoosk trying to entice non-paying members to pay subscription fees to communicate with what appears to be an interested member who in fact has no intention to communicate. But here is the kicker. On the same day that my subscription was scheduled to expire, but after it expired I received a notification that I have a new message in my account. The first message ever on Zoosk minutes after my subscription ran out. What a coincidence. And obviously it wants me to pay to even see it or reply. My satisfaction level would range from almost dissatisfied to somewhat satisfied or: got what you can pretty much expect, I guess. I talked to a few (real) females on there, from relatively nearby. Went on maybe 2 to 3 dates or meet-ups, tops. Being on there for months. They send matches from far away typically; the site's parameters do not seem to understand or respect what would perhaps be rather common sense distance preferences (you'll regularly get people as your suggested matches who are from out of state, or 50, 60-some or even 100-some plus miles from where you live, etc).
Lot of fakes, they come and go, you get messages (several in a row) from obviously fake pics (1 pic only; very attractive or desirable looking person) no username ("Zoosk user" only), next to no profile body (or poorly or oddly written profile). If you respond saying, "Hi how are you?", to their smiley face or heart, you get in response something like: "Am good, you?"; chat a couple messages more, if even, and you will know for sure by their awkward wording that this is a foreigner from somewhere trying to scam people for something or other. Sometimes they'll say flat-out that they're from out of the country, or they are living outside the country for some reason right now (despite being listed as from nearby where you live).
The best thing about the site or app is that you can 'block' anyone's profile easily after any interaction (unlike on some other sites where you have to keep seeing the same people you've already interacted with, even though you've perhaps blocked them from messaging you). So insta-block any fakes or suspected fakes. Having said all that, from time to time you will get real messages from real (pretty much obviously real) people. Use your own judgement though, because I experienced a few that looked like legit real profiles but by how they interacted in chat had to be fakes or bots or something (perhaps a formerly legit and inactive profile was taken over by a false user).
Anyway, biggest problems are: fakes, distance and so-so to poor matching issues, and it also has a strange way of showing again and again (I think) that you are "viewing" someone's profile, when you're not necessarily doing so. (You might be just scrolling and they keep coming up, or you might be viewing your OWN recorded views, and it shows the person that you're looking at them if they have looked at you before, and so on). It will cost you typically around 40 a month, realistically (39.94), if you buy the month package (go by the month, instead of multi-month package) + the thing where anyone can reply to you even if they're a non-member. You Must cancel your subscription or it will auto renew. After you cancel it, it won't. Is it worth a try? For a month or two maybe, but if nothing comes of it after 6 or 8 weeks I'd cut my losses.

Once I joined I used precisely the same criteria to search. Not one of them showed up. Did this a dozen times or so - still not one of the three showed up. Now began to suspect this company is a scam.
Had a buddy sign in as a free member. He and I checked with two computers, side by side. As a paid member, none of the three came up. As a free member, he had all three come up. We repeated this little exercise 6 times with EXACTLY the same criteria and at the same time. Every time, the same result happened - I found none of the three and he found all three each and every time. CON JOB BY ZOOSK.
Wow, did I get taken in so I called asking for any plausible reason for this happening. The lady tried her best but could not explain much of anything. Essentially, she just tried to pull excuses out of the air. She said she would give it to member feedback but told me I would not be contacted for follow up. Obviously Zoosk themselves are 'salting' the mine (adding in attractive members to bring in sales - a con job to take your money) to make it look like they have a few very attractive paid members along with those who are real people.
Hope a few lawyers read this post and mount a class action against them as I will be the first to join. Bad enough to be searching for someone without having CON artists take you to the cleaners. With my experience for recognizing less than authentic individuals, companies, websites etc. who often pose as someone or something you’re interested in or may be interested in. I recently signed up with a paid account with Zoosk. I contacted Zoosk shortly after joining and notified them of the two scammers and a third possible one that I experienced within the first day of joining. They were removed from my view although I’m not sure if they closed their accounts. I did give them reliable evidence.
In my experience these posers always asked for my number and they respond by giving a "text subscriber number" refusing to give their cell number. A 'text subscriber number" is most often used by scammers to avoid identification. Be assured I asked questions that would identify if they’re authentic or not. Their answers and avoiding answers clearly exposed them. Additionally, their answers were classic scammer stories. There is a tactful strategy. On and off I visited Zoosk.com to casually browse the profiles on Zoosk and I noticed it was flooded with profiles that are highly questionable. Today I experienced another likely fake profile who realized I was on to them and stopped our chat midstream. Zoosk couldn't even keep those parameters straight. I would get contacts from people far out of the age range. In addition, there is a blocking feature that is completely useless. The blocked people returned to my preferences time and time again. I was warned that women get bombarded by men on these sights, but I still was surprised at how uncomfortable I felt. (See above.) I cancelled after 2 days. Unfortunately, there is no grace period, so when you sign up you are stuck with the bill for a minimum of three months. It may not officially be a scam, but it feels pretty scammy. I would not recommend Zoosk to women.

Why is Zoosk blocking response to members who corresponded with another member who do not have a photo. Was the message a scam. I cancelled my subscription immediately, I will not allow Zoosk to control me in their scam.

Fake Fake Fake and full of site bait. You can click for hours on the Carousel function and never run out of profiles. It's also full of glam girls who are divorced with failed marriages and kids, which is fine, but they want the fine life as they claim to be, Sexy, classy, etc and it shows in their profile names. Maybe I didn't read all the fine print but a few things you should know before wasting your money and time. 1) You can only communicate with paid members. 2) You will receive notifications that someone is interested in you and they have their cell number written on the picture. This is obviously a scam but Zoosk is totally involved in this scam. They monitor every pic and text written on your profile but they allow this to happen. 3)The number of paid member to non-member is like 1 out of 4 in my area. 4) Their search capability does not work as you have set in your settings. When searching, you get people outside your radius and age group. This wastes more of your time. 5) You cannot always see a paid member's distance until after you match. She may be 100-miles away; therefore, you end up cancelling the connection. Good luck but I would not recommend this site.

An FBI agent told me that many of the profiles seen on dating apps are not who they appear to be. They allow a lot of gross things to be in bios, such as request to have a woman clean shaven ‘down there’ so 'no choking hazards’ gross!
A man called Morning Wood is allowed, one man used a pic taken in front of a urinal and toilet- classy, and one guy used a gorgeous primary pic that was probably from high school, yet thankfully included more recent pics of a bloated, obese old man. One time stamp was 2007, another included his name plate on his desk with full names, so much for privacy. Yet the site removed my pic of a waterfall in my jacuzzi, as it violates their ‘standards’. The one good thing I can say is that I was able to get full refunds, one for an upgrade I had not approved, by phoning their toll free number and being very polite but firm. Also, as I was deciding whether to subscribe or not, the SAME chick kept checking out my profile over and over. I really wanted to talk to her, so I took the plunge.
Immediately messaged her. No response. Messaged her again. No response. Also, those messages that had piled up were just "smiles" or "hearts." Most of them lived too far away. I have sent out messages to 40 women and gotten 0 replies. Many of whom have supposedly viewed my profile multiple times. I don't think most of the women are members. Don't even click on it! I wasted a few hundred dollars off and on over two years. While there are some real profiles, very few of them are actually active. Here are my biggest gripes about Zoosk: 1. Matching criteria, age and distance are meaningless. Zoosk ignores data points and bombards you with profiles of potential matches 100+ miles away, always older than you, often outside your other key filters. 2. Robo views or likes. Once your account is up and running, you'll get pinged constantly by the same people "viewing" your profile over and over and over again. You'll think they're obsessed with you but never message you. That's because they're NOT there at all! These may be ghost profiles Zoosk kept from people who previously subscribed and in some cases, a real person may have swiped your photos for a tenth of a second, and pinged Zoosk, which then auto tags you and creates a phony "like" or "connection".
3. Spammy, fake, ** and scam profiles run amok on Zoosk and Zoosk is complicit at best in not enforcing reported fake profiles. If you are a man in your 40s or 50s and you're "pinged" by a hot looking woman in her 30s, chances are it's either a scam artist from Ghana, or an Eastern European cam girl looking to rip off credit card numbers. 3. Zoosk shakes you down and nickel dimes you to death. It's almost like being strong armed on a street, being taken by your ankles and having your head smacked against a sidewalk until every last nickel and dime bounces out of your pockets. Zoosk has layer after layer of ala carte "extra" charges that pop up AFTER you're charged for your subscription. Ten bucks per month to guarantee she can read and reply to your message. Coins purchased for ten to $180 ! To send "gifts", cute little icons to hope you get noticed.
You're probably sending the "gift" to a Zoosk created false or old profile of a woman who USED to be on Zoosk ten years ago, or Zoosk purchased the pictures and data from other scammy dating sites. 4. Almost all of the female profiles show pictures that are obviously ten, fifteen or twenty years old evident by the backgrounds, clothing styles, and vehicles from the selfies women take, in their 2002 Nissan, with turtle shell sunglasses covering two thirds of their faces.
This face hiding is there for two reasons: A. They're ALWAYS older than their listed age, and I don't mean by a year or two; it's more like...a DECADE or two! And B. when you finally do connect with a real woman, who lives within a 20 mile radius of you, she's ALWAYS a PLAYER who is married, with kids at home, and is scouting around for free drinks, a sugar daddy, a hook-up while hubby is out shuttling around the kids to baseball, soccer and hope they don't show up at the same restaurant she told you to meet her at (happened to me!) after she told you she was "divorced". Seriously, you're better off making small talk with seemingly single women in the produce aisle about the price of broccoli, going to a church social, or taking an adult Ed class like cooking. Save your money. Save your time. Save your sanity. Don't get "Zoosked"!

Don't fall into the trap of thinking that this website is going to be a good experience.
I am a cautious person and of the men that had contacted me, one said on his profile that he was widowed and I started to talk to him and my wheels started turning. So I did an online search, as he gave me his cellphone number, I did a reverse look up the number and it gave me his name. At that point I did further searching and found his marriage certificate. He was off my list. Second said he was a clothes designer and found out as things were not adding up, that he was nothing of the sort. Third one even had pictures and he is representing himself as a well known psychic from England. He was a fraud also, found out the country of origin was Accra, Ghana. SO BEWARE OF THIS SITE. I have chatted with close to ten men in 2 days trying to meet someone. As conversations progress, it’s clear they are scammers: marine engineers, diamond traders, traveling for construction contracts, etc. Where are the real people? Get these scammers off! The scammers are getting smarter and using more normal looking photos, not the polished photos of the past (though some still are), but once the misspellings, and “dears” and awkward English emerges, it’s clear. Zoosk...do a better job of ridding the site of these frauds! I’d like to speak to a real prospect!

This is by far the worst dating website ever, needs to be shut down ASAP. After paying a subscription they want more money all the time to boost your profile. You get matches that never turn out to be anyone, messages that you never get a response to. Total joke, had one guy whose pic came to me constantly, we are not a match. I told Zoosk to take him down. But no, still pops up all the time. Stay clear of this website.

Zoosk sent me a email saying they have declined my essay profile which I did not do any of those. Zoosk said, "Do not put phone number, do not put email, do not put sex or profanity". None I put on my essay so that makes me think because I am deaf and they are trying to remove me due to discrimination, so that's it. Zoosk is a fake site trying to get money. Do not pay Zoosk one dime. Please everybody get out of the site. Thank you by the way. Your photos will be photocopy and stolen. I know I had mine stolen but I didn't care because they will never know where I live or anything. They can dream about trying to scam me. I'm not stupid. Gee Zoosk is not smart than any of us. JUST DON'T BUY MEMBERSHIP OF ZOOSK. I WANT THEM TO GO BANKRUPT. Thanks.

I signed up two weeks ago. Reading the experiences here of most of us, it's the same story. I get unverified profiles who like me daily and when I ask them to verify they're who they claim the are, I get the run around. These people should be sued and shut down. Bye $56.00. It was not fun while it lasted.

I have to agree completely with the last couple of negative reviews (without wasting time looking further), that this mob is crap. Computer generated rubbish most of the time. And like one punter has stated, I can't even access now for some reason, perhaps they're waiting for my next AUTO (got no choice), renewal to kick in. ZERO STARS. But even this site requires you to give it one star....

So, Abridged version: After a couple of years being out of the dating game I decided to try Zoosk. Bear in mind, I'm hesitant to give any dating service money after a close relative had some pretty experiences with getting catfished in the past. So here's the deal, I live in an extremely rural community and it's quite literally in that everybody knows everybody sense.. so when I see profiles from friends that I know have either gotten married or been in a long-term serious relationship.. that's red flag number one.
Number two, I reverse image search. A lot of my results actually came up as Getty Images or went to somebody's Tumblr account. More often than not, this person wasn't even aware of the factor picture was being used on dating apps. And yes, I contacted close to a dozen people last night. Third (and final strike) I came across a picture of my friend's 14 year old sister. Her location was the same on Facebook as it was on Zoosk. Her profile picture was the same on Facebook as it was on Zoosk. She had that little icon stating her account had been verified via Facebook.
So this begs the question, is there an actual person verifying these accounts or is it left up to some random bot? Because if there is an actual person on the other end of that computer screen oh, they're allowing for many bad situations to happen and not doing their damn jobs. Her Facebook profile said she was in high school, and she was even going on about how amped she was to start her sophomore year soon. And I've noticed a pattern, I think there are young girls who are actually starting troll accounts out of sheer boredom but the major problem with that is that the sex offender registry is a very real thing for very real reasons. Funny how unmanned dating apps are complicit in this.
The real kicker is it's not that hard to combat any of these red flags. Hell, in order to join a good portion of groups on Kik they asked you to send a verification photo whether it be if you touching your nose or holding up a piece of paper with the date and time on it. On top of that, putting a mandatory time limit on each profile - especially unpaid profiles - for how long I can go without you signing in should be a thing on all dating apps.
So with all that out of the way, Zoosk - I highly doubt you're going to be getting any of my hard-earned money anytime soon. As it stands, you're no different than any of those Fly by Night dating apps / sites that are positively polluting the dating pool. Unless we see some drastic improvement in the extreme future oh, I think you're going to start seeing business tapering off.

I too was lured into purchasing a subscription because the only way I could communicate with anyone was to do so. Prior to paying, it appeared I had all of these messages, but lo and behold once I paid, they were not actually messages, just stupid computer generated lines. They do not monitor any of the subscribers as I was communicating with someone under 1 screen name, and then his screen name was changed, and I received a notification that he wanted to meet me! Despite the fact that I requested a refund after being on the site only 1 week, they refuse to do so, so now I am out $56 for nothing. Talk about a scam operation.

How exciting, I have one of the woman checking out my profile! Actually not. Once you view someone or give a positive response to their profile on the Carousel then the site keeps showing that they have viewed your profile. I got so many views from some women that I actually messaged them to see if they had actually viewed my profile, they had not. People come to one of these sites to save time and sort through who is out there but this is a bigger waste of time than going to a bar. Save your money and your time. This site is complete fraud! Good luck!

Don't waste your money! It is rubbish. I signed up for one month and after that, NO MORE! The experience has been crazy. People who I have spoken with are just plainly weird and ask too many indiscreet personal questions. Scam messages...the story of the cousin who needs to date someone and there is a relative trying to hook him up with you... All a way to get your information. I have been here for less than a week and I have already gotten 2 of those messages. I can go on and on...awful.

I joined Zoosk on 26 July 2019, looking for female friendship. I paid a subscription of GB pounds £56 which allegedly gave me unlimited messaging. However, I was then asked to buy ‘coins’ to read the messages of women contacting me. I tried to ‘unsubscribe’ to Zoosk. The ‘terms and conditions’ state that you can cancel your subscription and get a full refund if you cancel within three days. You have to write to a San Francisco address, zip code CA 94105. I failed to find a UK address, although I joined Zoosk as a UK member. In my opinion, this is a highly irregular way to conduct business, and I would suggest giving this site a very wide berth. Instead, try ‘Encounters’ or ‘Soulmates’ where you will be treated properly.

Really doesn't deserve one star. See the review from Melissa from OR below - she spelled it out clearly. Horrible to navigate. Its touted "Smart" technology has consistently matched me with shorter men who live at least 2 hours or 2 states away - despite that I state clearly what I'm looking for in my profile and have consistently given the thumbs down to these guys everyday for 4 months. My son could do a better job programming and he's an accounting major. AT LEAST 50% of people who contact you are scammers that are so transparent a 3 yr old could pick them off just from their profile. The rest are the SAME people, OVER AND OVER. It's like Groundhog's Day - only more time consuming and you're paying for it. Their daily suggestions are all good looking - same people everyday - that are clearly PLANTS. I could go on. Just DON'T. They are all awful but this one is the worst.

This has been a horrible experience for me. In just 4 months of use I was approached by no fewer than 4 catfish scammers; I know this because I found word-for-word identical emails online that were put there by others that had been scammed. One scammer forgot the name of his "only" daughter and referred to her by a different name in a later email; another I found on Facebook with the exact same "studio perfect" photograph of himself, but under a differently-spelled last name.
My account was also hacked, so clearly security is terrible. I deactivated the account and canceled the gmail account I was using to protect my security. Yet, after deactivating the account months ago, I have just been auto-billed for another six months' subscription. Every time I go to deactivate the account it says its's deactivated, but when I go to it, it still opens and says "active". The account is supposed to be wiped, so it shouldn't even exist anymore, yet there it is, active. I don't know how to get them to stop charging me since I can't find a phone number for a human, and the Help messaging function uses the gmail address associated with the account, but I canceled that gmail address due to security issues, so it doesn't exist. Horrible, horrible, horrible experience. If anyone has ideas how I can get myself out of this terrible company's clutches, I'd love to hear them.

First off, I can see a whole bunch of real people's profiles which is far better than other sites. There are some I would undoubtedly date but it involves distance which I'd consider but it would be off the table for them. I live outside a tiny teenie town in Montana. I'm established there. I see it's expensive. I know a thing or two about how these sites stir things up with their user base. The users themselves aren't as active as the site simulates user activity. The coin system is always a rip. I don't trust these offshore high risk credit processors either YMMV.

OMG Your account gets hacked all the time even though you have a 50 character password protection. You can log into your account from one device BUT not your phone. You change your password and verify it TWICE on the site. Then you log out and try and log back in and it says SORRY wrong password. Your account password gets HACKED straight away. The admin is shady. Probably hacking everyone's account. BE careful. It's just bad security. Someone needs to get Zoosk to pull their socks up on their security or fire the dodgy workers who overtake your account for hacking reason.

I am COMPLETELY frustrated with Zoosk!! I paid the subscription. Zoosk will give you "SmartPicks," once per day (compatible partners). You only have the choice to like or not like the SmartPick. The other person has 24 hours to reply to you. Zoosk doesn't even allow you to view your SmartPicks (Matches), or even reply to them!!! I have loved several guys profiles within the past month, that have been my matches... Once I like them- I can't even locate them again!! So I paid a subscription for people that I match with, but I can't even send a message to or locate. It's the stupidest dating site I've ever seen or known of. Such a waste of money and time. I have people all over the US messaging me, that have no common interests. Absolutely ridiculous. Why can't I even access my matches when I want??

I've been on Zoosk on and off and recently signed up again for 3 more months. My overall experience has been negative. I went on a couple dates with maybe 2 guys and they went nowhere. The Carousel thing is a sham. You express interest in people you like on a solely shallow basis. There is no info whatsoever about them, only their age and name. Then once you "like" them, you find out they live hundreds of miles away. That's fine if you're into long-distance relationships, but I've had only bad experiences with them so it's not for me. I've even stated in my profile that I can't do long-distance relationships, yet I get guys from more than 100 miles away contacting me. I also get guys who don't speak English contacting me. Seems like a real waste. Once my three months are up I'm gone.
