I found it difficult to meet people around me. I also didn't like that I had to pay for so many features. It's like Zoosk, with a different name. I would update website, lower cost, or make it worth the price. I also couldn't see who was looking at my profile... It seemed shady. I also thought fee was too much. I really didn't like POF.com. I would make it possible to read and write to at least a few people free of charge. I would allow to pay monthly, add free messages and make the website look less childish.

I would like to start a class action lawsuit against POF for online scam. They offer paid membership and no online support. I had someone steal my paid account and POF will only respond to a paid account if you send it from that profile. How is that possible if your account is stolen. They will not offer refunds so how is this a legitimate business if you cannot get a hold of the company? I also notice it's a Canadian company so maybe this is being funded by terrorist organization?! Maybe along with class action lawsuit it should be reported to US Government as a terrorist organization laundering funds through Canada!

POF.com was good, very easy to use, really entertaining stuff and a lot of variety of people to choose from. Being in a major sized city it's good to have a site that works. I liked the variety of women from all races and backgrounds including a lot of women from my local area as well. Good looking, smart, experienced and fine women which is a good thing for dating site. But it should be a little more selective and do a better job of screening women who can make profiles to make sure they are who they present themselves to be before you go online.

As I went to search for my man, I get on this site. I'm really upset that 90% of men on here are scammers and jokers. Some are scammers from Nigeria and some doesn't take the relationship seriously (they are on there for ** chat). It's hard to know who is real and not real. If there weren't my friends, I would easily be fooled by them, and I wouldn't be here to write the review as I would be devastated spiritually. I'm still searching for my man but I don't think this would be a good place to search. If you know a good site, tell me.

The site is old looking - it could be updated to look more modern. Putting in your information seems to take a long time - like when you are trying to customize a search. Some of the questions are odd and then some people don't even answer all of them. You could have more streamlined and required questions. Also, maybe follow some of the other sites with more regulation and criteria. I met a LOT of weirdos! Some seemed nice at first, but then don't they all?

This gentlemen seemed honest and sincere and was supposed to be overseas on a peacekeeping tour. Supposed a son was also contacting me. After 2 weeks some text from a MD was received asking for 650.00 to treat the boy in a accident. He is a military dependent and has champas so why should I send money. Then this guy has been pushing for me to send money, get a loan, he loves me and we need to save the boy. Several other clues lead me to believe it was a scam. Everyone knows Jack the Ripper but this guy I had to explain it to him. So ladies need to go with their gut instincts. It is one of the best I've came across and if someone asked me, I would tell them about it. Plenty Of Fish has a good match system that works very well.

I've used POF many times over the years and I've learned many things about the site. When I first started using the site I wasn't getting very many messages and I didn't know why. I did everything that I was supposed to. I had pictures I had an interesting bio and I even made the first impression most of the time but still no one would reply back. Then I asked myself, maybe these women are just shallow and only go for looks. So I created another account and to my surprise I was right. I messaged a few of the same people who I messaged on my other account to see if they'd actually reply and they did. More than half of the women replied back just because they preferred looks over personality.

That's not the only thing wrong with the site though. Many of the women on there are very immature and aren't serious about dating. Even though they view my profile after I message them they still don't reply back. I've actually messaged them back a few asking what gives and one girl told me something I'll never forget. I asked her why she didn't reply back and she said "Because I don't give a **!" Which made me think what's the point of even being on here if you're not even serious about dating? All you're doing is wasting people's time if you're not actually going to put any effort into trying. The whole site is just very very stupid. For that reason I'll never go back. Until the women on there take a step outside their alter egos and realize they need to grow up and that they're not as great as they think they are I'm done. It's not worth my time to fool around if they don't even know what the hell they're doing.

I also liked knowing the location and distance from another person on there. But there should be better graphics and the ability to limit who can look at your profile. I had a lot of older men and I did not like that. Outside of that, I didn't have too many problems with the app.

Been on the site for a month and you think you become premium member and get it all. NO!! Then they nickel and dime you for 10 different things, which are pretty much basic on many other popular dating sites. Most profiles seems to be fake. I've been on similar dating sites in my past and everything seems fishy here. People will mark you as favorite, but you can't talk to them. People will mark you as mutual and you can't talk to them. They've very screwed up settings. Plus, it's very shady, where if you don't buy the tokens or other little nickel and dime upgrades, you don't seem to get any responses at all. And the ones you get are really ** ones.

I've no trouble getting responses on other dating sites. Plus when you sign up, even with PayPal, they do sneaky ** like putting you on autopay on PayPal without you even knowing. Then you've to get to PayPal and cancel that stuff. Otherwise if you sign up for 1 or two months or a period and you forget, you'll get screened and renewed for the next few months. Then you'll find people (I'm sure they're POF marketing folks acting as users) where they very involved and message you, and once you ask them to text or phone or email, they'll just ignore and move away. Very fishy! Would not be here again, ever.

It's hard to fill out the profile and come up with a tagline. And waiting for approval of pics takes too long so the first 3-4 days you're signed up you don't get any responses because you don't have a picture. Also, all the men there are looking for sex and hooking up and one night stands. There are too many sexually explicit pics and not enough just fun pics and you can't filter for what you are looking for. You get bombarded by unwanted attention. The site should be less sexually oriented and more about compatibility and long lasting relationships not just hooking up.

But I liked being able to chose from a lot of choices of people and a safe place to chat without having to give out your phone numbers or reveal too much info unless you chose to when you chose to and I like reading the comprehensive profiles. I met my husband at POF and we've been together for 5 years so TY POF for helping me find the man of my dreams and made my dreams come true so just be careful whom you talk to on the site. There are a select few guys on this site who are worth it. Do background checks on potential suitors and don't reveal personal info too soon and you'll have a pleasant experience. Learn how to use the profiles and filter your mates and you will find Mr. Right like I did.

I wouldn't want to pay money to just talk to someone that I may not end up dating. But it would be nice to wink at someone instead of just messaging someone first. A wink is good so you can acknowledge that you're interested and if they wink back then send a message.

However there are many many folks out there who are not who they said they were. I would provide more security, meaning I would make sure somehow that the bios and profiles are monitored and gone through to exclude any sexual deviants, Megan's law people, or people with violent histories. I wasn't on the site long, though, and haven't been on the site in many years. But when I was I like the ease of use and the security. This site itself was fine to use and had good features but the users I would change. Too many looking for hook ups ie sex.

Plenty of Fish aka POF is a great site. I love the easier of making matches and the ease of my profile. Unlike other dating sites, Plenty of Fish doesn't ask you many questions and require too much information. I like the design of the profile. I also like the fact that meeting people on that site is very easy do. But I dislike the fact that it's so easy to make a profile, people often lie about who they say they are. I know they are a lot of people that lie about who they are on other dating sites but on Plenty of Fish, the number of fakes on this site is just ridiculous. I just wish there was something that could been done about the number of fake profiles on this site. It should be a verification of some sort for this site.

I also like that people can communicate with each other on the site for free and provide pictures of themselves. When the site provides matches for you, it usually has a match with at least one thing in common. Also, it is very easy to communicate before exchanging phone numbers. Still, the site limits those who are looking for one night stands. While there isn't much that I dislike, rating a date would be good. The rating would not be based on whether you like the personalities. Instead, when meeting was the person prompt, dressed neatly or appropriately, polite, kind and did the person look like the picture provided.

I figured I should have tried with eHarmony or Match but decided to get my feet wet with POF. I am a professional with a good job, I don't look like Cindy Crawford but the guys on the site are not exactly The Rock either. What I've experienced is that men don't even want to date. They want either a penpal or sex after the first text, not even a date. Definitely a lot of scammers, men from foreign countries asking you to marry them early on, etc. I am giving up and try to meet someone in real life. But I liked that it was free and it was really simple to set up. There wasn't hundreds of questions to answer before I got to make & publish a profile. At least I got to view all profiles at no charge. But they need to filter through members more so no weirdos slip through the cracks. There are a lot of shady people on there and I do not feel it is that safe on a dating site.

I don't think there are enough people on there that I'm looking for, but I'm very picky so that's not POF's fault. Recently, this happened again and I tried to make a new profile, and then another one and they all became impossible to get back into and were apparently deleted. There is no reason for a great standing member, such and myself who obeys the rules on their site to be not able to connect and get into his profile because of some disgruntled, misguided women who play games, and then I tell her she is doing this and she blocks me and apparently reports me, as the next day I could not get on to my account.

I suggest they seriously take a serious look at these types of trouble making, game playing women and delete them as they are the reason this quality member is ousted for just telling a woman she is playing games. They state this on their rules that people who report others just because they are angry at them will be removed, but I certainly have not seen this. They should have more discretion and not be the "BIG BROTHER" watching and not doing the right thing by their members.

Somehow, I was inadvertently manipulated to the POF 'extended profile' area where they asked a few questions and next thing you know, they had cornered me into agreeing to sign up for the extended profile option. I swear, I did not know anything about what I was getting myself into, but before I could blink, I had agreed to pay for a year's membership. Now, you may say I am gullible or whatever, but I lost my job in December and I currently have no job nor an income. Now you would think that I would be careful about options that I choose for charges that I do not want, but they are very clever and one must be very, very careful about what you choose when they ask questions. Questions that lead you into agreeing and signing up for something you don't want. It cleverly goes through your iTunes account where POF is released of the responsibility. But believe me, they were very clever and cunning when they lead me down this road.

Before I know it, I had signed up for a year's worth of extended profile crap. Which of course I did not want because I have no income because I was laid off on my job in December. I do not have an income so why would I willingly agree to something I did or do not want??? They are very clever and tricky. But here's the thing... just try to find a way to cancel that SOB. They make it extremely difficult to even find the links to get to the place where you can cancel your stupid year membership=to the tune of $107.97/year. That is money that I do not have. Esp not having an income or job.

So to cancel this SOB, I had to go to iTunes and get on a chat session with someone who finally agreed to cancel my 'subscription'. This whole procedure took me 3 hours. The iTunes girl told me it would still take 3-4 business days for it to cancel through my bank. The whole incident was inconvenient, full of trickery and manipulation. Then, to resolve it, was almost impossible. I would never ever recommend signing up for POF's extended profile option. They will steal you blind if you don't know what you are doing!!! "So and So Wants to Meet You." Over and over and up to 10 to 15 per day. I figured out a way to see who it is, just do not log on and do a Username search for whose name was in the email and bingo that person's profile appears. So, you do not have a be an Upgraded Member or pay extra to see who wants to "Meet You". POF will try to get you to pay to do this which is for free if you know how.

Secondly, after an absence for a few days, the so and so wants to "Meet You" start appearing (LIKE ABOVE). Every time you try to write back, and I mean every single time, you get the message "So and so only take messages from certain users..." Moral of the story-- You will get fake emails in your Gmail inbox for "So and So wants to meet you". Why, POF wants to keep you hooked on the site or pay for an Upgrade. Now from the ladies' point of view. In my 2 plus years on POF, all I wanted was a nice guy to spend time with, but what I found is there are no nice guys on this site. A lot of these male genders have a criteria a woman must meet, And romantic, seriously? Their idea of romance, is letting you drink your coffee before they start grabbing at any and everything. And let's not forget about your routine. Really, different one every night, are you boys comparing your toys. Most men wouldn't know a good woman if she walked up and hit him with a concrete block. You want arm candy, someone to make you look good. How dare you tell women you don't date a woman who is a bit overweight, you are not Greeks Gods yourselves. Won't date unless your 30 or under, really? And how about the 60 plus men who are raising small children, I've done my time.

And mostly I see these same men who are overweight, telling me I am too big, Oh I could go on and on, but I will tell you. 3 of these guys did all their playing around, then guess who they called when they could not find a good woman. Found out the grass isn't always greener on the other side. So let's talk about who's playing games. I will say, yes I am over on what my weight should be, but I will feed you. No I am not blond, but I won't run around on you either. And no, there are lots of women nicer looking than I am, but I don't want your money, house or cars. I wanted someone to love and take care on, to pamper, and feel you are the best thing that ever happened to me. So before you lay out your criteria and want just the 10's, you may be missing a lot more than you will ever know... THINK ABOUT IT. My neighbor's son and daughter married people they met on PlentyOfFish.com and he is dating a woman out of state that he met thru the site so it does work for some people.

So I had been on and off of POF for a few years. In the beginning the site was alright. I met a few people on it nothing really panned out normal. As of the last 2 years POF has made it harder to talk to anyone or even see who was interested in me. They made that impossible. Without paying and even then I don't it would have changed much.

As of the past year I have been getting dinged with "someone wants to meet you" messages. 99.5 % of the time it's a fake profile that is deleted right after I get the message. That was the first thing that started making me mad. The second they would not allow me to message one and if by chance I did get a message I was not able to read it unless I paid. I don't feel comfortable giving this site money as to the amount of fake profiles I would. Most likely have to fish through if this site is even real dating site any more and not just a place for people to advertise webcam sex sites. I would never recommend this site to anyone ever. Worst waste of time ever.

I have reported and sent them screenshots and images of malware attacks coming from their site and their site only any time I click on a profile of one of these women about three or four pages into their photos I get all the sudden pop ups telling me that I won an iPhone or that I've been selected for a prize or this or that and it's all viruses it's all malware and I'll save the URLs for them and emailed it to ammonia fish and their response was they do not care. I liked it better when POF.com gave female members the choice to limit what age range of males gets to write to her since there's nothing more gross and disgusting than having a delusional old man or any pervert or any man more than 7-10 yrs older write to me. However now that choice has been modified so that these delusional old frogs can now write to a female on second try after already being denied the first time. It's a female choice not to hear from an old age range. It makes me want to vomit to see an old man more than 8-10 yrs older especially over 40, write to me. I hope they revert to original option that again. A female has chosen herself not to allow a man over a certain age to write her and only allow a certain age range to contact her. A woman has a right to this choice and no delusional old frog who needs to stick to his own age range should be allowed to change this.

The site did allow me in as a MEMBER but when I click on the "token" POF said I had to pay for it??? POF is also down today. And before some asked me to "disassemble," upgrade, reboot, or change my system or setting, ALL of that was down 30 days ago when I tried and failed to have POF load. So don't offer ANY fixes to me, Just call POF and offer them the fixes. So POF is, to me: unavailable, unreliable, unpredictable, unprofessional, poorly managed, none existent CS, a waste of time & money and more. I also heard "Match" bought them and it is my hope the purchase works out for Match and they did not pay more than $12.00, because the site is so poorly rated and it will NEVER be otherwise.

I verified the pictures that were used were also reported on the two different Romance Scam sites. I deleted the account but never paid money. That was just disappointment to see so many fake profiles. After getting hit on by a few scammers it becomes easy to spot them. Approximately 2 years go by and I decide to try again living in a small town. I was hopeful for less scammers. I set up my new profile and got approved, answered 2 of the chemistry tests that ask and then find out my account was deleted and does not exist even after I got the approval email. It takes time to write a nice profile. Total waste of time.

Since these dating sites are all owned by Match my guess is they are running the other sites into the ground so people quit using the so-called free version of POF. Even when you do searches you see the same people on the subsequent pages that you already saw. Sounds to me like the site is dying and to make it look more populated they repeatedly show you the same people. Pathetic site with no help or support. Total scam. Stay away if you are smart.

I think the site is a fake, just out for victim money. They really are what their url suggests, Plenty OFFISH. ALL the women are plenty offish, alright. No bites, no nibbles, nada. Disgusting ** saying ** men only, who'd want such a woman? Followed their ideas for profile, and was honest. Men probably should LIE. Response rate: zero. Messages UNreturned in every case. Ok, so 3 days ago I decided to try POF again. This time I paid for an upgraded account, in hopes that it would help me actually find someone who really does want a relationship that it might help weed out people who aren't serious about it. Anyhow skip to today, ie. day 3. I logged in, actually barely able to login, and the first thing I see is, in bold green saying "Next page" and a little link that says customer service.

Ok, so I pressed next page and the same thing came up. So, I decided to check my messages. In my email inbox it said I have some new messages, and of course, I wanted to see who may be interested. Well, and no I cannot access them. Now I'm left wondering wtf? Ok, so I sent a message to customer service, in fact 2 messages, it hasn't even been an hour yet; I know a little too hasty to wait for a reply. Next I go to my account, get the email address for a refund. I'm not paying for this nonsense, now I have to wait for 24 hours for a reply, that's fine.

But what on earth? Maybe it's a bit too soon to complain, but hey if I paid for an upgraded service and getting these wonderful results... what on earth is this site for? Seriously. I sent messages to some guys because I noticed that they have things in common with me on their profiles, now I cannot see if I got a reply, or if I got messages from guys who maybe interested in me. Needless to say, I'm not a happy girl. I mean I found some guys that seemed soo cool, that like the same things I do! Now I can't contact anyone? Or see if they replied to me?:( My thoughts, this site sucks. A whole 3 days, now it feels like I wasted my time.

POF blocks age within 15 years. If you are 40 and try to email someone under 30, it will have a popup message that the user doesn't wish to be contacted by you, in certain words I can't remember, but it's not so. They make decisions for POF users beyond their knowledge. The crazy part is, POF has filter options in settings for age, and a lot more things. So if a user doesn't want to be bothered by people of certain age, they can set it up really easy. So why the age discrimination? This wasn't always like this. POF was once a good site... long ago!

Also, POF was once a 100% free site. But now we have a mix of paying customers and free users. That is a big recipe of disaster. They have a lot of shady tactics to convince you to upgrade. I don't know what POF promised women on this site, but I have never experienced such a picky, arrogant community of women. Getting a return message is like pulling teeth. If you are reported by someone that you broke the rules, without even checking to see if the information is accurate, POF will delete you without any notification at all. You will just disappear. I have tried to use the website twice in the past four years and paid the fees and basically it was worthless. Very few quality people, a lot of people just want to hook up, people who are questionably process, just a lot of freaky people both men and women. There are a few halfway decent people but they never seem to respond. There's also a lot of scammers list I have run into it.

Maybe others if I had better experiences, but I find it pointless. It is also very difficult to get responses back and communicate with the technical support. I used to be a member some years ago & was finding the ability to message for free handy. However, when in the middle of multiple conversations, I woke up to find my account missing. I tried to recover password & apparently I no longer existed. I was blocked from being able to sign back up with same email.

So, over the course of last year, I conducted a test. I created multiple emails. 5 male & 5 female. I uploaded photos & asks friends to help me with the photos as they were keen to know the results for all the profile descriptions were identical. I uploaded 1 normal photo for each profile, 5 unique male photos & 5 unique female photos of my friends. Then I uploaded a few rude ones & swear photo's to all of them. Same photo's, different profiles. I left them for 3 months. No activity other than searching once a week & clicking on a few yes's on the Meet me page. It took less than a month to find all 5 male profiles deleted. However all the female ones were still up & active. So, I intentionally broke the rules for the 5 female profiles & still, no deletion. So, I deleted the accounts myself.

Then I conducted another test just for male accounts. I asked 5 other male friends to register & comply specifically with the rules. They had to send at least 1 message to a different user a day. Keeping it clean & mentioning details of the profile to show authenticity of the message. After about a month or so, they all started chatting with females. Some 2 or 3 at the same time (lucky sods). It was all polite & friendly. No rules were broken until the woman asked if they would like to switch numbers. They responded positively and asked if they could provide their numbers first & my 5 friends would message/call them. Now, they clicked send & left the site & waiting for a reply. 1 day, 3 days, a week passed no reply. So they all at various points tried to log in & check. They couldn't. Their accounts had vanished. All 5.

Conclusion: The site promotes upgrading at every moment. It promotes itself as Free with premium features. However it's anything but free. It's been tested with accuracy that the site will allow men & women to register for free. It will also allow you to message other users & have a conversation for free. However, as soon as numbers are mentioned to be exchanged, which means no longer requiring the use of the site to continue that conversation. The site's auto filter or by staff intervention deletes the male's profile. This is either to encourage the male user to register again & sign up to premium to continue the conversation or it forbids any attempt to continue the conversation outside of the site. But the latter is not mentioned in any rules or Terms & Conditions.

As for the first test with the photo's. I believe the site filters out male profiles & deletes them because it's usually the men that pay to find love rather than women. So the site is decisively bias against men from the start. Another issue. The site has no customer support number. No postage address & no way to contact support without being a member. Now, for the site to operate & take payment from UK & EU users, it has to provide a customer support telephone number. Also a contact email or support form & a registered postal address by law. They do not provide this info & it is still a hassle to get this info from them even as a member.

There's even reports that men have registered, upgraded to premium & then found their accounts deleted for no reason. The users contacted their banks to recover the money & the POF.com had the nerve to contest the charge reversal, Claiming it was the User that selected to delete their own account. Which would be stupid at the highest for someone to do.

For anyone in the UK, you might remember a mother who lost her son by cancer. But before his passing, he clicked delete on his account & checked to make sure it was gone. Even Pof.com T&C state deleting is not reversible & no way can you reuse that username. But around 3 months later, The sister of the lad who passed away was searching on pof & spotted something. She saw her brothers profile, same pictures, name & description. Well the mother was shocked & she registered & contacted POF.com via the forum & the extremely difficult email to find to request the account be deleted. The mother even provided proof of death & other evidence. But during that process, the dead son's profile was showing online & had send message to the sister. It was clear from the start this was automated because the messages were generic & open ended to mean anything.

But pof responded saying the account doesn't break any rules & the user no longer wants his account. They should request her son log on & delete it himself, Taking note that they had tried to use the login details used her son that didn't work. Its clear to me, Pof use inactive profiles or details from deleted profiles to recreated accounts & run them on an automated service to give a false impression of activity. It's also riddled with scammers & fake accounts.

As a personal point view, don't try because what you risk losing & feeling when they delete your account is much worse than how you would feel if you went out, introduced yourself to someone you liked the look of & got rejected. As a professional point of view, Any site that does not comply with UK & EU law, is next to impossible to contact & goes around deleting accounts to suit their own needs whilst hinting you to upgrade at every possible moment is disgusting.

If I was you, I would find a dating site that has a UK customer support number that works. A form of contact such as email, Online chat or online form & more importantly, A Geographical registered address for letters of complaint that is within the UK or EU jurisdiction. Any site outside your country's jurisdiction can take your money & provide nothing in return & there's nothing you can do about it or the law. Stick to companies registered in your own country or a country with a reputable law system like the UK & the EU. Anywhere else, youre just putting your money, financial details & emotional well being at risk!

Why the hell would you want to see their username in your messages all the damn time? It's moronic. Also, what's the deal with the age limits? I'm 31 now, but even when I was 27 or so, I couldn't message anyone 21?!?! This isn't "To Catch a Predator" - they're adults, period. It's not like a 55-year-old is trying to get with a 16-year-old. I guess this is what you get when it's free - go America.

BEWARE--I have been an active member on your site for years on and off. Recently I continued with my upgraded membership 5-26-MAY and all of a sudden I could not get into my account. I know my password yet I could not get in. My account has been shut down for NO reason and my money was refunded for NO reason. Read on.

I was traveling and using my cell to access my account. When I got back I got online and found a number to call from the net 855-552-5590. I had called to find out WHY my account was not accessible. I had to call over 6 times as I kept getting hung up on. I spoke to someone named James & then Sam who said he was a supervisor in Tech support. They gave me a sing, song, and dance about my account being hacked!! My reactions was "WHAT?? How can you let something like this happen?" All of a sudden my account was HACKED... All 6 of these people I spoke to who hung up on me because I was getting annoyed as the lack of customer service were not from the US--first indication something was amuck!!

Sam kept telling me that someone else was using my screen name and profile and that my pc must have had a virus and that he could fix it. They kept telling me based on what they could see on the back end is that someone had hacked my IP address. They told me it could be fixed for about $300.00 bucks and he could recommend someone to do this for me. He wanted to get into my system and mess around. I was like hell no! So I did what he suggested myself and ALL OF A SUDDEN a big virus appeared on my screen. I immediately shut it down and told him off and hung up!!

I have spent HOURS of my time to have my PC looked at and there was NO virus at all, and as suspected they are scammers!! I have had my modem and router replaced as well. I then saw that my money had been refunded again. WHY?? Sam had kept telling me that someone had hacked my system and notified them to CLOSE the account and refund my money. Total BS I never did that at all... Glad I got my money back, but the BS I have gone through for the past 4 days is beyond ridiculous.

I spent hours and years perfecting my profile and keeping my photos updated... And now I got nothing!! I had logged on under a different name and tried to pull up my profile using my screen name and was told it did not exist. Yet Sam kept telling me that my email was there. Do you people know how much work it is to change everything you have had for YEARS because you have scammers who have phone numbers listed on the net because YOUR company has no way of contact other than email?

I did that first and never got a reply of course, so I went searching for a phone number. Yes they have my email. Yes they have my phone number and address because all this has to be verified to make sure I am who I say I am so they can access my account!! Do not get involved with this company. Like I said I had been a loyal customer for years on and off. I got my money back. Every account I own had to be changed, emails, phone numbers EVERYTHING... BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE...

My account was hacked on this website (POF) and I am unable to get into my account with my password. I opened a new account and was told that I had two accounts open. On my old account someone wrote messages to couple of people that I never messaged and sent a site to look me up (like a ** site) so I have now cancelled the new account but I am still showing that I am on the old account. Called the customer service phone number and never got to talk to anyone and that if I have an issue to email them but every time I emailed them it got pushed back to me stating that they can't answer my email. I am very distraught about this and all I want to do is cancel this site.

A note to users - online dating is dangerous. A house idea to find out if a person is real or single or are least a good place to start is by getting good their phone number and installing a reverse call app. The last man I met online or traced his number and looked him up on Facebook and he had posted 3 days previous on a relationship. I asked him about it and he got crazy mad that I found him out. Two others had women's names come up and one was a spam number. Do your homework people and be safe!

I was on POF for 2 months as an upgraded member. I was charged another 38.70 the day before expiration. I called them and they said they would refund the 38.70 as I had already cancelled the account and deleted it. They said it would take a few days. I gave them two weeks and still it has not been refunded. Now I can't find a phone number to try to contact them again. This company is a ripoff to say the least.

Safety of their users is irrelevant to them. This is a dangerous site. I've been using the site for at least two years, lots of outdated pictures and false claims - but mostly because people can't admit to themselves they're getting older, much less anyone else. Recently I met someone who appeared somewhat sexually aggressive, comments like "I wonder what it would be like to wake up next to you". So I was very clear with him that nothing was going to happen after just three dates, but I decided it would be safe to be alone with him.

He wrestled and pinned me to the couch, saying "I see trepidation in your eyes". I got away from him and then he grabbed my breast. When I ran to the door I was able to get him to leave. I tried to notify POF but apparently if I report a user for something other than what they write in messages, I might be blocked from the site!!! I at least expected them to start monitoring this user for other complaints. When I notified Match.com that I picked up a stalker from their site, they asked me to report it. Safety of their users is irrelevant to them. This is a dangerous site.

This is a free dating site... which is a bad idea to begin with. When it's free, every loser on the planet will be on there! I live in a smaller town so you would think that if I contacted 100 people that you would get at least a few dates. Not on here! And all the women say the same thing... "I'm the mom of Amazing Kids!"... "They are my World!"... Seriously? Do you think this is the way to get guys interested in you? Right off the bat, you're telling them they are in 2nd place and always will be! These idiots have no business being on ANY dating site! Then if they do respond, it is very low key, as if they're doing you a favor. POF should give a Time Limit on membership that people aren't paying for. 1 month free, then you pay or "Get Off!" Join a different site. That would eliminate most of the losers and increase the chances for those who are serious. You really get sick of seeing the same people all the time... For Years? Ridiculous!

I was new to the area last year and working 6 to 7 days a week. In a new city isn't a great way to meet people and really how do you meet people? Go to a bar alone? I go to concerts but it's hard to have conversations at a show. So a friend of mine recommended POF since I am more into the long haired musician types. That GQ type which is what you will find on the paid sites. As far as it goes for a dating site... Well most of the problems are with the people itself. Most men were not my type and 2 things I asked for was someone to be in my area and no one with small children. I got both. Went on a few dates but not impressed. But then I received a message from my boyfriend and he was what I was looking for. So we went on a date and over a year later were still together and have a life together now.

Here is where the unhappy part comes in. It is a free site but you can pay to have enhanced features like it would tell you when someone read your message and several other things. So I opted for that. Problem was it was an option of a one time charge of $80.41 or a monthly charge of $8 and some change. I went with the monthly change but when I reviewed my bank account... There was the full $80.41. I contacted my bank and since there is not a number to call POF just an email, my bank reversed the charges. And when I met my boyfriend, I closed my account since there is no reason to have it anymore.

6 weeks ago we start to go on vacation and I had made my deposit for my vacation funds. So I check my online account and there again is a charge of $80.41 from POF!!! My account has been closed for a year. I received no contact from POF that they would be charging my card or asking if I still needed the features. They do not have a number listed to contact them. The number the bank gave me is always busy. The only method of contact is by email and when I sent an email all I got was a reply that they did not accept emails anymore. I am disputing the charges with my bank. But they had no right to charge my card... I mean if I close my account and there is no activity for over a year, why would they think I wanted those features. As far as an online dating site... At least it isn't costing you a thing to meet people. But do not give them your credit card.

This site is definitely the cheapest of them all. You get messaging capabilities without needing a premium account. The layout is simple. Some features are not usable unless you upgrade, but you can get dates, message and browse profiles for free. However with free comes a price. Many profiles are fake, or escorts posing as users. Profiles are deceiving. An abundance of single moms, welfare moms and scam artists. Be very careful when arranging a date. If it is too good to be true, it's probably trouble.

I used this dating service for a few months. Because it is free and very easy to use, there were a lot of very undesirable people on there and it was a bit frightening. I do believe that for every serious, normal person registered on that site, there were 10 frightening people. I met my husband through this website but it took a lot of research and meeting some very unsavory individuals. I feel sites such as eHarmony where there is a hefty monthly fee and long questionnaires are GOOD because it makes it more difficult and more quality people would pursue relationships through that site.

Many people on the site are not reading the profiles. The site itself is just fine. I haven't had any problems with it. I just haven't found anyone. It would be helpful if people would make their photos and intentions clearer. Lying and posting old pictures should not be accepted.

I have always heard about Plenty of Fish. I was always informed it was a online dating site for players. You know, someone who just wants to have fun and that's it. So therefore I never went on it. Then my friend recommended a online dating site called POF. So I decided to give it a try. I subscribed to it. The questions they asked were easy and didn't take long to join. Anyway, I started getting lots of messages from all these guys. Stating they were interested in getting to know me better and want to meet me.

Long story short... I was starting to like this POF online dating site. I was messaging them back, exchanging phone numbers, had great conversations with them etc. I was saying to myself there are guys on here for the same reason I'm on here. Looking for love, a partner for life and commitment. I was hooked on this POF online dating site. I don't know what it was but something told me take a better look at the words POF. I couldn't believe it. I was on Plenty of Fish.

I told myself I would never get on that website... I can't believe it still. The people on here are real. POF is great online dating site. I love it because it lets you view their picture and message them. I have not had a problem thus far. I have met a lot of people like me who is looking for that special someone on POF. I will be going on a date this weekend with a gentleman from POF. POF is a great online dating site. Trust me. You will love it just as much as I do.

Well, I actually hated it mostly. As a male, the process is degrading. Look, I'm a good lookin guy but even my experience has been I send out 100s of emails and get no responses. Feel like a loser then repeat the process. It gets old. But I can recommend it because I actually did get a very small amount of responses and one of them I ended up marrying. 4 years later and we are still awesome!
