Pof appears to have different rules for women vs men about the content in profiles. More specifically, photos. When a man tries to post say a picture of his backyard, it is immediately deleted with the message saying that it does not conform to the rules. However, women have pictures of flowers, pets, scenery etc. in their profile which have been there forever. Why is that, other than displaying gender discrimination?
The reason why a man would like to post say his backyard, is to show how he maintains his place to potential matches. One would hope that it would convey a message of expectations in a relationship. On the other hand, a picture of say just a blue rose flower, a pet, etc. is allowed, with absolutely nothing else, in a woman's profile. Why is that, other than for gender discrimination?
I subscribed to POF for six months. After 3 1/2 months, POF cancelled my subscription and deleted my account. When I asked why, they would not provide details, saying it was their policy. I can assure you that I did not violate any rules, they had zero reason to delete me. But since they did, I asked for a refund or a credit of the unused portion. They refused. That's unethical, they can delete anyone at any time for any reason, and keep the money.
POF is now full of "women" that want you to jump to a hookup site. These sites are scams to get your CC and charge you money to get more false profiles. In the last two weeks I chatted with two out of 23 persons... 21 profiles that contacted me were scams.
I paid to upgrade. I was told I could verify my account in some other way than using a cell phone. That turned out to be false. Every day when I signed in I was asked to verify my account and I had to have a cell phone to text a code to. I could not verify... I complained each time. They fixed this problem over and over, wasting hours per day of my time...
Then my password stopped working. Finally I called.. The person I talked to at 888-299-9531 was a poor communicator and the connection was cutting out at intervals besides. They said they would refund my money and that they deleted my account.. Certainly they deleted my account. It may be just another lie, that they refunded my money.
Had a scammer drag me on for 5 months, using army man's pictures last name of **. Of course he then tried to get money off me & did commit fraud using my name address and info. I have reported to the fbi & put all my credit on a freeze. Terrible out of country trash, be VERY CAREFUL. TRUST NO ONE WITHOUT PROOF OF IDENTITY. Most are out of Nigeria.

The reason why most women are getting booted off is because they are being blocked too much by men! And get this.. They will not let you recreate another account, because the sneaky buggers flag your IP address, so every time you try to create an account - no matter what information you use, it will not let you! I know, because I tried eight times on five different devices & none of them worked. Until I turned off wi-fi & did it through 4G on my phone!
Here is my advice.. If you received a message from anyone you're not interested in, don't even reply back. Because once you do, you can get blocked by him for rejecting you.. & if you get a certain number of blocks per day, your account gets automatically deleted with no warning!! Oh & don't bother emailing. I did twice & got the reply that they're too busy to respond. So if you've paid for a membership, you're screwed.
Not even worth checking the notifications. Scammers more than anything else, I regret ever trying this app. POF team makes no effort at all to verify the members and are only interested in getting you to pay.
This site has more fake members then real... Stay far away. Profiles are constantly hacked and nothing but hookers and porn sites trying to scam you! This site does absolutely nothing to verify the legitimacy of each and every user.
I would not recommend that anyone become a member of the POF dating website. They have a lot of scammers, bots, and even the people that work for POF will send you messages just to try to keep you on the site... You cannot trust anyone you meet whether you're looking for a guy or a girl. I spoke to several guys and of course none of them ever wanted to meet and that's because they were either lying about who they were or they weren't real. I also suggest that when you leave the site you make sure to delete your profile, your pictures and any other information that you post about yourself. In my opinion I'd say stay away.
Over the last few months POF has suddenly become full of a huge amount of Fake profiles. I reported all the ones I spotted and added proof by using Google image search and TinEye to show the person's photos were copied. I made POF aware that the site was being targeted by a huge amount of fakes who would only send a link to a sex site Momhook.com And got a standard reply back from POF saying, "We are sorry you have encountered non genuine members etc, Please use REPORT USER if you come across non genuine members." So I did just that. Reported approx 25-40 each day Thinking that I'd be helping others by getting the Scammers removed. Now Suddenly I can't log in. Starting to think POF has kicked me off for reporting all of the fakes, Which in short would say, "Don't report the fakes. We don't care!" Which is a shame as the site already has so many complaints made on other review sites.
