POF is horrible. Most of the women are so far away from my location. They are fake, old or just downright ugly!!! Don't sign up for this app. It's a waste of time!!! You need to find much better apps that actually give you women within the distance parameters you request. Not someone 200 miles away! It's a joke!!!!

This APP is HORRIBLE AND A WASTE OF TIME I PROMISE!!!! You cannot send a message or even see a like without paying!!!! They are too money hungry, you can tell the owner or operator is not a smart business person. Zero STARS!!! Money hungry & you cannot use features that are fundamental without paying! This New Age Consumer thirst with all these apps and websites is so lame and stupid! Like I don’t think I’m from this timeline. Smh.

They will randomly remove account. For example if you have 3 months membership they will give you one month then shutdown your account and not give your money back. If you complain they just won't answer. I have tried to contact support. They just say we decide who we shutdown. I asked for proof if I violated their privacy. They just say, "We don't care if you did or not. We can do any time we want," which is little bit strange. This used to be good site but apparently they have either rogue managers or rogue employees who are using facial recognition software and decide when they want to remove your account.

I agree with the negative reviews. Most profiles are no longer available. They nickel and dime you to death. It's all about making more money, forgetting the customer. Most dating sites are now like this. Some are even worse. I'd give them negative stars if it was possible. I'm now using Facebook Dating. It sucks but it's free.

POF was honestly a letdown for me. Compared to Datemio, where everything❤️ feels simple and direct, POF is messy and full of distractions. The interface is outdated, and there are way too many fake profiles and ads. Most chats feel forced or go nowhere at all. It’s hard to find anyone genuinely interested, and the whole experience feels like a waste of time. Competitors made things much easier when it came to local hookups. POF just doesn’t deliver in the same way.

I just met someone on POF. It turns out this person was a scammer. Goes by the name Roland. This isn't the first time I was scammed by someone on POF. Or other sites. Don't use these sites. I've lost a lot more than just money.

The dating app keeps profiles that have not been active for YEARS so it looks like you have a lot more options than you really do. You can’t see that info unless you pay. The cost has skyrocketed from $30 a month to to $30 a week. There are bots that make it in, but there are also people paid to specifically ask questions about your experience. If someone asks you “how long have you been on this platform” and “how do you like it?” They aren’t really a love interest. They are collecting data. Then if you don’t have a paid account, you can only message one woman per day, and they limit your likes per day. If someone likes you, you can’t see the profile unless you pay. The software is designed in such a way that it will never suggest or bring up a person who liked you, in your searches. So unless you pay, you can’t directly match with people; you can still get lucky sometimes.
They don’t allow you to search the age ranges you want; the search will reset the age every single time you search. So I tried to search for women 45+, and had to change that if I left the search and came back. Even then it still showed some women in their 30’s. You can only message someone once until they reply. So if you misspelled your first message or want to expound on your first message, too bad. It seems to think that someone viewing your profile is a big deal, and mixes that in with the likes as if you should be excited someone even looked at your profile. Looking at a profile means nothing. The system will eventually tell you that there are no more profiles available, even as you see new people joining. Then if you stay on long enough, it will reset and you will start over looking at profiles you have already seen. I could go in and on and on. This app is junk.

I don't even know were to begin. I have not been on Plenty of Fish since the late 90s. I was using Match but wasn't getting many positive responses so I figured I try POF. At first I thought it was great because unlike Match you just pay for the membership and you can message and connect with anyone. I was getting so many responses I thought I had hit the jackpot until most profiles seemed to be the same MO. Most pressured me to leave the site and go elsewhere. Many of the sites were fake too. Also wanted my personal information right away and didn't respect my privacy. They also were very forward and over complimenting me. Saying things that were not true and giving me false hope. Then the next thing you know they would disappear.
I had to block many for creeping me out but what's more concerning is many of these guys seem to be just one single creep that keeps coming back in and using another name and obviously fake pictures. This is not okay or safe. This site needs to be shut down until they become a legitimate site with REAL profiles. This site should be called, Plenty of Dead Fish!! I warn everyone to not go on this site. You're spending money to be towed with by bots or fake people. I hope to get my money back. It's not okay to run a site that is not real. How is that even legal.

OK, I didn't think it would be easy--I'm 80 and a widower, but I didn't think it would be this hard to find a casual companion. For outings like movies, dinners, festivals, etc. and conversation. I'm too old to be looking for a torrid affair., Most of the women are too young or live too far away, and I the search function won't let me change the age range or distance away, and even though I am a paying member, I can't find a simple way to contact the site administrator to complain about the problems with the search function.
Worst of all, the few women I have messaged are RUDE. I always tell them in my message that if you are not interested, just say so, I'm an adult and I can handle that. What I CAN'T handle is being IGNORED, which to date is the major problem I have with the site. It would be nice if POF had a stipulation you must to respond to all messages to remain a member in good standing or would be cancelled if you didn't. After the first message to avoid harassment you can always use the option to block that person.. I'm on the verge of cancelling, So far the experience has been a complete waste.

POF is a HORRIBLE company. While it has a free option, their supposed "safety" measures are a joke. In my experience, 9 out of 10 users are scammers. You report them, and POF immediately takes down their profile - without ANY review! So while you are trying to help others avoid those issues, there is no policing by POF themselves! I was on for approximately 2 months before I, myself, was suddenly banned. No explanation, even when I asked. They simply sent me a blanket "after reviewing your account, you were in violation of community standards." After I had verified the very limited amount of info you can actually verify (most accounts do NOT have any verification - so there are a LOT of photos that are not even the person they are claiming to be) and actually written up a profile (very few go to any effort at all).
So positive experience? Not even close. Am I sad or disappointed that I can no longer use their "service"? No, I was going to leave the site, anyway. It's just sad that people continue to actually pay money to that site, with no better policing of the members. (I'm guessing one of the scammers reported me so "he" wouldn't be reported by ME!) Good luck out there - especially if you try POF.

I have been on POF for several years off and on. I find it to be a total waste of time. If you send someone a message you maybe lucky if you get 1 respond for 25 messages. You can be chatting with someone and they just ghost you right in the middle of your chat. No one really wants to meet or even get to know you. Please don't waste your time and money on this site. Ladies you need to get off your computers and get back to a normal life, get out and meet real people.

I have been on POF off and on for many years and have been happy. Yes I met someone I thought that could be the one. We exchanged numbers and talked. During that time, I deleted my reactivated and deleted my acct 3 times. I was not aware this was against policy. Nothing written. Now they have blocked my number and won’t let me back on. I have written to customer service several times. They said no you’re not banned. But my number won’t work for verification. I am getting the runaround from them. I am not stupid but they think I am.

I've been on and off POF.com for many years without ever having any issues other than meeting guys who are not what they portrayed themselves to be. I take that par for the course of the dating game. I met someone recently on POF and we agreed to both close our accounts. We went on several dates. Even rang in the New Year together only for him to then ghost me. I decided to go back on POF and I saw he was also on there. Completely out of the blue I get an email from POF telling me I've now been banned. I appealed this as there's no reason that I should be and they replied, "This case is closed. We will no longer be replying to your email." I can't believe that they can randomly shut my account down and ban me from their website for no valid reason. Not impressed!!!

I first joined (not a paying member) in 2015ish. At that time you could search as many profiles as you wanted. Fast forward to 2020-now (December 2024). Now you can only search 1 or 2 profiles then you have to pay, 95% of women's profiles state, "User has blocked any conversation, try sending a like instead". Impossible to get any type support to change/add to your profile. Total waste of time, not sure what happened to site.

I recommend staying away from any dating site that is owned by the Match Group. POF used to be good when it wasn't owned by the MG. They basically defiled it like they have with all of the other major dating sites that used to be good before they they became corrupt. Match.com used to be good until about 5yrs ago. OurTime wasn't the best before the MG bought them, but now it's just like Match. It's literally a mirror image of it. Tons of fake and inactive profiles to lure you in. Bottom line, the Match Group is over a half a million dollar corporation. That should tell you something. Verify the dating site owner before you sign up.
As for POF, I'm embarrassed to say I have been on that site off and on for far too long. In short, I was a hopeless optimist in spite of the the plethora of fake profiles. My last time on there was a month ago when I decided to pay for 3 mo. I was barely on there a month when they removed my profile, but would not give me any reason why. Even though it wasn't that much money to me, because I make that in less than 2hrs of work, it was the ethical point that pissed me off. The fact that they literally stole my money and removed my account with no regard says a lot. They are money hungry and it will eventually backfire on them someday. Their day of reckoning will come.

POF was good years ago but now it’s just a money grab. They send you fake views and likes to get you to bite since you can’t see who sent them unless you pay. Old and dormant profiles, scammers, game players and plain out liars. They prey on people’s loneliness and desperation, sad.

So far I believe this is the worst dating site ever. Compared to Tinder the selection of women ** any culture is absolutely the worst, even pathetic from a male perspective. And to add insult to injury, you can only like one profile a day unless you pay for it, which is a waste of money. Make the likes free.

I was a member of this site for two days. I paid premium package for a month and just about every single person was widowed with no children, loves to walk on the beach and has a master's degree for. Don’t waste your time. Others are saying they’re accounts another country but I believe that they’re bots from the company. Has anyone noticed there’s no customer service phone number? I can’t figure out any place to ask for my money back so I’m going to put in a complaint with my credit card.

Signed up for POF and paid two months to be able to see profiles. Once I paid the profiles became less and 90% of them were fake and people from other countries. After a while did not alert me or did anything but I could not send messages. Call customer support to see what’s going on with my app and they told me I was violating the color conduct which is not true because 90% of the profiles are fake. Do not waste your time or money on this app as strongly recommend not to even download it.

I signed up for POF a few days ago. So I paid for a 3 month subscription. Once subscribed the men who like me were blurred, I thought it was an error. So I asked the question why I could not see the men that liked me so “since I’m paying” I could respond to them if I liked them. The site said I had to pay to see their faces. What the heck!!! I already paid. Come to find out they are ripping people off once you pay you have to pay again to see the faces. Very deceptive. I asked for my money back and they said they don’t do refund. A big rip off. Be careful.

Received an email that my account had suspicious activity; logged on via my iPad and was asked to verify. The only option I had was via their picture verification system. So, I complied and had their software take my pics. I got a success message for my pics taken, but then I received an OOPS message that something went wrong. I tried 2 more times, same result. Then, I used my iPhone, and it showed me that my account was banned because of an violation of their rules. I submitted a trouble ticket to understand why, and the answer I gotten was: "After review of your account and the information you provided, we have determined you have violated our Terms of Use or Community Guidelines and your account should remain banned. Therefore, your appeal is denied. I understand this is not the outcome you were hoping for but we appreciate your cooperation in this matter. This matter is closed and not subject to further appeal."
I mailed back to understand what I had done wrong and received the following: "Our records show that you have already been provided appeal consideration by our team. Please refer to our previous email notifying you of our decision, which is not subject to further appeal. See our Terms of Use or Community Guidelines for further information." I still have not gotten a response, and I cannot even request a refund of my money spent.

Plenty of fish is truly a scam. They have a phone number that does not pick up and eventually will cut you off. They have a billing email address that will bounce back any email you send attempting to cancel your membership. I used an old email address and fortunately took screenshots of my sent box showing 1.5 years ago my attempt to cancel my membership. It was ignored by Plenty of fish. Again, this is a very dangerous and rogue company. Stay far away from this and stick to the main dating apps, which all have decent reputations. Plenty of fish will be gone soon. But they will have taken a lot of innocent consumers’ money in the process.

I don't have access to my account, I have repeatedly emailed and they issue ticket numbers that they don't intend to respond to, and I called the POF telephone number only to find out that, they don't take calls .. I had to change my bank number because they had my financial info .. just don't join. They are not honest.

They are still using my profile and have no intention of removing it. I am so frustrated. Not to mention the scammers, pedos, s3x p3sts on there that I reported but nothing happened as that does not go against their rules. DO NOT USE.
