IJL is a huge scam. They spent over an hour on the phone "getting to know me" then didn't listen to any of my deal breakers. When I called them out on it after several terrible matches, they said I told them I didn't have any deal breakers. Definitely not true! But oh so convenient for them to not bother to record any of my interests so they can match me with any loser and then say that it's my fault for "not telling them." They're liars and scam artists and I need everyone considering them to know. Plus they ripped me off. I never even got the minimum number of dates. I had the last "date" stand me up (I don't believe for a second that this person ever existed, this was after I started questioning them) and they counted that as my 5th.

The matches from It's Just Lunch get better the more dates you go on. The last few dates I've gone on have been a lot better matches than the initial ones. They do a very good job of zeroing in on what it is you want from a potential match. At first there is a lot of I'm not sure if this person is the right match but it gets better the more dates you go on. ** has made it a very positive experience and done a very good job of making sure the match fits.

I joined IJL in October 2014. As mentioned in a few of the other reviews, the sales portion of the process is borderline aggressive with follow-up, quota driven I suppose. I could list all of the miscommunication and inaccuracy, not enough character space in text box. Customer service system breakdowns. Failure to highlight that your membership can expire with a max # of date declines. The amount of money you pay is not worth it. Perhaps, your geographic location may impact the quality of your experience. NYC is lacking. The employees don't feel invested, perhaps underpaid and part-timers. They don't appear happy with their roles and can come off dismissive as well sarcastic. Customer Service training should be considered and company packages restructured for maximum satisfaction.

While I am patient and understand that the potential match pool may not be there, the communication is lacking and I am not sure if this is the case or what the hold up is. I was assured that I would be updated biweekly to keep me in the loop but so far, I have been updated once with a generic email. I heard more from ILJ during the sales process when they were hoping to get my business and very little since. My coaching interview was great but otherwise, disappointed thus far in the service.

I was promised by ** if I joined by the Friday, the fee would be $2500 for four dates; so I called by the Friday and he was never given the message by **. Then when I connected with ** on Monday, he said the fee would be $2800 for four dates, maybe for six dates. And now it's over a six month period. I paid.

Advertised as a professional dating service for busy professionals; experience was anything but professional. I entered into a contract with IJL in October 2014. The service was advertised as a great solution for busy, working professionals, and I paid $3000 upfront for 6 months or 6 matches. Things started poorly when the first match failed to show up for the first date. They reassured me that this was just a horrible anomaly of their services. Things continued to decline. I found out that they were misrepresenting everything from my age to my profession to my vacation schedule. They also set me up with non-clients and could not provide details around if the non-clients went through the same background checks that they assured me all the matches had been through.

Big thanks to ** for making my It's Just Lunch dates something to look forward to - I'm confident that they will find matches that are fun and suited just for me!

Their marketer did a great job of selling the product, the follow up not so hot. I had 3 different "personal reps" - the first was good, but got promoted to a different job. The next didn't even read my bio, and when I complained, they gave me someone else who I heard from once in 3 months. Whatever they promise - I had 3 dates. Nice enough guys, but they paired me (advanced degree, lived overseas for years) with 3 high school graduates, 2 having never been out of the country (or state of PA). Really!!! This is personalized matchmaking? Spend your fee on a first class air ticket to somewhere fun -- you have a better chance of meeting someone that way!

I had a very positive interaction with my coach. She was supportive and encouraging. She also challenged me to be more direct with my communication in terms of my intentions of future dates. I don't like to hurt people's feelings and I can be avoidant. Thank you for the advice!

Had the opportunity to visit with ** about starting with IJL. She gave me some tips on how to answer the question that arises when someone asks about my being a widow due to the death of my spouse from cancer. She also was very encouraging on what I can expect from this program as I am not quite ready to search for a husband and want to take it slow.

My second time with IJL. First time (7 years ago) was much better. Now, no one meets with you. I don't think there is even a rep in the Orlando area. They are throwing darts... I would rank my 4 dates as a 3, 2, 0 & an 8. Last one was pretty good. There is no personal service. Also, wanted to charge an extra grand to see pics - are you kidding?

I signed up for a 6 month contract with IJL. They lure you in by telling you about potential dates that never happen. My contract has expired and in the time frame I had 3 dates within the first two months. 1 was a horrible experience. Then I never had a single match in 5 months. Last go around with a potential match has been going on for a month. I would give my availability and then not hear anything for two weeks. Then on the third week ask for availability again and promise to send an email within a couple of days with date time and location. Never happened. I spent a considerable sum of money and don't feel that IJL met their obligation.

I was very disappointed with my first date. Not a good match at all. He dressed like he was going to the local hardware instead of a first date at a fine restaurant. It was suppose to be a lunch, all he ordered was coffee. Hope things improve for my second date, with a real professional as advertised.

Once I contacted IJL with an interest, they were relentless in calling. I agreed to sign up and was contacted by my dating consultant right away. She told me glowing stories about the lovely ladies she already had in mind for me. Then I never heard from her again! I was scheduled for a "coaching" session. They never called. When I contacted them, they told me my time to cancel had passed. I also found out different people pay different prices based on what they think you can afford. A serious rip-off!!

Though this session wasn't filled with new information, it was a good refresher to have since we frequently neglect to think about such things before a first date.

I met the owner, Anisa Hassan at a networking event in 2013 and immediately signed up with the service because she really knew her stuff. She interviewed me and set me up on my first date within a week. The date was interesting but there wasn't much chemistry. Surprisingly, she took the feedback personally after my date instead of asking one of her team members to do it. I was really impressed as she really took an interest in the outcome of the date. She listened attentively to my request. It was on the third date that I was completely blown away by her choice. I have asked not to meet someone from my ethnic background. She delivered that and more. It didn't take me long to decide to propose to **, the love of my life. We feel that we couldn't have done this without It's Just Lunch Singapore and Anisa. We highly recommend this service as my wife also didn't believe that she could have done this at twice the speed and half the time and effort. Thank you for bringing us together!

Contract was not explained and they did not follow through with their commitments. I invested over $2100 with no results or follow up from this company. My membership was dropped without them calling me or informing me that this was about to happen. When I sent an email requesting a refund due to the fact that they did not follow through with they informed me by law they can. I do not recommend this company to anyone.

I signed up with this service in February with the promise of 4 dates over 6 months at the cost of $2800! Yep, a very large amount of money. Their catch was that they would find me someone in my area that had the same passion and there was plenty of men that were looking with the same desires. I had my phone interview, face to face, and then they hooked me up with someone on the East Coast to be my "handler".

I really enjoy my coaching session with **. She had a lot of great suggestions about meeting someone for the first time and how to make a great impression. She boosted my confidence and made me feel more relaxed before my first lunch. She was also was kind enough to answer a couple questions I emailed her after our coaching session. I've been w/ IJL for over a year now. Initially I didn't have much faith in this service, I thought they would set me up w/ whoever they find available. But I was wrong. They take their time to understand what you want and they truly try to match you with the best possible candidate. Sometimes few weeks go by before they call me with a match which tells me they've been looking around. ** is my current match maker after I had a date that went sideways. She spend a long time reassessing my needs and has been setting me up w/ quality matches since. Actually I went out last night on another first date, loved the venue ** picked and had so much fun w/ him! I'm looking forward to a second date. =)

So far been a member for just on a month, and only had 1 date so far. The date was civil and the girl they set me up with had potential, but she didn't seem very interested in going past the first date. This was especially hard for me, as I just lost my wife in March 2015 and I was hoping to rebuild my life with someone new. The quality of matches have NOT even come close to what was described and from the MANY reviews on Yelp, it looks like I am not the only one who was scammed.

It's Just Lunch advertises an exclusive, private, and individualized dating service for busy professionals. They take thousands of dollars and promise matches exclusively picked just for you. Instead they ignore your wishes and set you up with who they have available even though they don't meet any of your expectations. IJL then says that the process is fluid and they are fine tuning it for you after each date. When your contract is 10 months or 7 dates for $4,000 then each date should match what I am looking for. That would be individualized match making just for you! They mislead and have not come through with their promises of well matched dates. This is fraudulent in my book.
