If I could give them no stars, I would! Do not bother with eHarmony and go to another website. Eharmony expects you to lower your standards to match with anyone in your area. There are no matches to begin with. The price is outrageous for the amount of matches. Even attempting to cancel the day of the purchase is impossible for a return. They just want your money with nothing in return. You make a purchase for nothing.

I tried to cancel fours after joining. First they capped denying my photos. Just regular pictures and they told me I couldn’t cancel. This platform is a scam. I will open a case with the Better Business Bureau. Also very limited people I put Florida and only a few women are on there so they keep telling you extend your surge.

Horrible company! I thought they were reputable—should have done my scam search first! I thought the premium subscription would be worth doing month-to-month but was charged $435.85 for a year that I didn’t want. When I contacted them with several emails, was told they had a no-refund policy. I contacted my credit card company and filed a report to get my money refunded today. Will see if they can satisfy me. The few men profiles were either missing pictures, horrible-looking men and one was a possible scammer. Do not use this company, haven’t received anymore suggestions except 1 today!

I paid for a full year of eHarmony, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst subscriptions I’ve ever purchased. From the beginning, I found both the website and the app confusing and not very user-friendly. There isn’t enough explanation about how everything works, and getting help or finding good customer service is difficult. I often found myself frustrated just trying to figure out how to use the service effectively. What disappointed me most was how inactive and repetitive it felt. For months, I seemed to see the same profiles over and over again. I wish there were a better way to organize or set aside profiles you’ve already looked at so you can focus on new ones.

I took the time to complete my profile and genuinely tried to use the service, but after paying for an entire year, I didn’t get anything meaningful out of it—not even a conversation that went anywhere. The whole experience felt strangely empty. Another thing I really disliked was the subscription policy. When you sign up, you agree to a long-term subscription with only a very short period to change your mind. After that, you’re basically committed to paying for the subscription even if you quickly realize the service isn’t what you expected. It left me with the impression that the policy is designed to lock customers in before they’ve had enough time to discover whether the service actually works for them.

I understand that no dating service can guarantee that you’ll meet someone, but for the price eHarmony charges, I expected a much better platform, more activity, clearer guidance, better customer support, and a more reasonable way to cancel if the service isn’t right for you. For me, it was absolutely not worth the money, and I regret purchasing the annual subscription.

Where to begin... I went to this site and enrolled in the top-tier subscription. I thought there would be fewer scammers on a paid dating site than on free ones. Wrong!! eHarmony is loaded with them! Most of the women who were matching with me turned out to be fake. I asked for a refund within the first three days and was told they only allow refunds in that time frame in certain states (??)! The other issue is that, even though I cast a wide net in terms of criteria (distance, age range...), I haven't had a single (not one) new woman's profile to view in 4 days now. Are there really that few women? The distance I set includes not only my state, but neighboring states. Don't waste your money! I feel like the whole thing is a scam!

⚠️ Be very careful with eHarmony’s services. In my experience, there is absolutely no benefit to signing up for this very expensive dating app. The minimum cost is over $40 per month, plus taxes and other charges, which can result in paying more than $460 for a year. What I found especially disappointing is the extremely limited number of profiles available. There simply do not appear to be many active members in city. In my case, I was seeing only around 10–15 potential profiles, which is extremely disappointing for a service charging this much.

When I requested a refund shortly after signing up, customer service told me that I would still be responsible for the entire membership term, which could amount to more than $460. The only option they offered was to cancel my annually automatic renewal, meaning I would still have to pay for the full membership even though I was unhappy with the service.

I find this policy extremely frustrating and unfair. Before signing up, make sure you fully understand the cancellation and refund terms. DO NOT SIGN UP WITHOUT READING THE TERMS CAREFULLY. I am sharing my experience so other people can make an informed decision before spending hundreds of dollars on this service. I also plan to share my experience on other platforms and create a video explaining what happened. This is my personal experience and opinion. Please do your own research before purchasing a membership.

Also, if I did send a like, I found if someone responded within 10 minutes, they were scammers, as they wanted to know about me, but would not provide any info on themself. Several reasons to have a one star rating. I should add that there was a zero star rating. I would have checked it. Very few profiles available for my geographical area, which is a major metropolitan city. Very few dates. I selected a man seeking a woman, however I continued to get men’s profile profiles, suggested to me by eharmony, and apparently my profile was showing up in other men’s searches for someone to me. I continue to ask why that was happening, what was going on with the programming of their site and they continue to tell me how to change my preferences on the site. Obviously that was not the problem. The problem was I’m a man seeking a woman and they were sending me men for profiles.

The only thing I can assume is either they have a serious glitch in their programming or because they had so few women to send to me they thought maybe it’d be a good idea to send men. Either way the worst dating site I’ve been on and I’ve been on several. They all have major issues, but this one was the worst. It’s unfortunate because this is one of the older sites that’s been around for a while and maybe at one time it was a good site for meeting people, but under the current administration, it’s completely and utterly useless. Even the responses from the staff don’t make any sense and they pay no attention to what you have written. Makes me think that the responses are from a dumb AI.

E-Harmony has proven itself to be a ridiculously impressive scam. Upon the recommendation of several websites, I signed up to E-harmony’s premium plan in the hopes of finding someone I connected with. Throughout my three month plan, I was connected to no less than 4 scam profiles. All four attempted to get me off the app into other separate apps, which is a common tactic used by scammers before they trick you out of money. As E-harmony was not proving fruitful, I requested my account be cancelled and the second payment not be charged.

E-Harmony refused! I communicated very politely through e-mail and have not touched the app since I requested the cancellation, and not only are they attempting to scam me out of 300 dollars but they are also threatening to put me in collections! I have never used a worse app with worse customer service that can’t even provide the courtesy of cancelling the account properly. It’s truly a shame but I cannot recommend this company to anyone. Excited about joining e-Harmony to find a partner, and be disillusioned in less than 3 hours later. I decided to pay for this service based on promotional ads - which later revealed to me that this service is just not worth it with limited profile selection, limited selection of preferences and an abundant amount of profiles "not logged on" 3-5 years past. !! BUYER BEWARE!! In reading the cancellation policy it appears that several other States have a better consumer protection policy than New Jersey. The inability to cancel this subscription after less than 3 hours of perusing the website, is just unbelievable.

Unfortunately, I'm stuck with this lousy service for the next 12 months - the reason (I believe) that the Cancellation Policy is written the way it is, is to trap the consumer with no way out. Some would call this a predatory practice. I'm guessing that, if a trial period for 3 - 5 days (or even for 24 hours), would be available before a final purchase would take effect, would be detrimental to this business. !! BUYER BEWARE!!

eharmony author review by Mark Brooks

eHarmony is the largest dating site geared specifically towards long-term relationships and marriage minded singles. They claim to be responsible for over 500 new marriages every day in the US.

      • In-depth entry questionnaire: eHarmony asks all of its members a little more than 300 multiple choice questions before allowing them to enter into their ranks. This in-depth questionnaire is geared at giving the site enough information to help provide you with qualified potential matches.

      • No Searching: In sharp contrast to other dating sites, eHarmony does not allow members to search directly for matches. Instead, it uses the answers from the questionnaire to provide you with a selection of daily matches that should be compatible with your needs and desires in a partner.

      • Guided Communication: Instead of sending off an email or wink like you would do on most sites, eHarmony takes members through 4 steps of guided communication before allowing you to continue with open communication with a new match. The guided communication is designed to help assure compatibility and that you don't waste energy on bad matches.
