I had a run in with their customer service. Agents are absolutely terrible. Smart mouth and just ignorant. I legally changed my name so when I gave them all the documentation that was required by federal law to issue a new card with my correct name on it the first Premier card credit card they took forever. They let the documents sit and they never went to review so I never got a card until I called them and I chewed them out but in the meantime they wanted me to continue making the payments to them but didn't want to allow me to have access. And how do I know that they're a bunch of liars. Very simple.

When I sent them a letter with the court order the new driver's license social security card they went in and killed the current credit card that I had so I couldn't access the account. I couldn't do anything so when I called them they said, "Oh I need to send all this stuff to him." I said, "Oh I already did." They said, "Well send it again." We went round and round on this. They have to be the worst credit card company that you going to want to deal with if you're trying to rebuild credit. In fact they promote you into defaulting by doing stuff that infuriates you and blocks your ability to pay them. What they want for me now is to pay the balance off because when they would not issue me a new card with my correct name on it I've reversed a payment on them. I told the bank no it's not authorized and it wasn't because they were not providing the service for which I paid them for.

They got pissed and first premier close my account. Said it was discretionary but they still expected me to pay the balance of the the card off but now I don't have a card but they sure do want the balance of their money back so I kind of told him, "If you are going to kill my card without notifying me other than this sending me a letter saying that you did that and I made this not send you another damn payment."

I will pay off my minimum just to check it a few days later and see that they have charged my payment to some ridiculous fee.

So I received a call from the company that I was late 2 days? I'm like really, I haven't been late on any credit card in a dozen years since I've gotten all my credit cards. I use them primarily for business. So I looked into it, and sure enough, I was late 2 days. This is the only company that I know of that does not do auto-pay. All of my other cards are on auto-pay. I really didn't have any issues with this company except for the fact that they do not do auto pay. As a business owner, this is everything. I do not have the time to go into all my credit cards monthly to make a payment. In this century, what credit card company does not want a customer on auto-pay? They get their money guaranteed every month on that day. So, on Tuesday, I will pay off both cards and cancel them. I don't need them, but it's like everything else, a convenience. I will just use my other cards that gladly accept auto-pay.

You can never pay down your balance because all they do is add fees that you are not expecting and take away from your credit balance. After they do this they have very rude customer service representatives that like to tell you what you have to do. Also, they like to add fees and put you over your credit limit and then report it to the credit bureau as if you have made charges to put yourself in overdraft. This company is horrible. I have 2 credit cards with them and I even had my cpa review the records and since I keep a detailed log of what is paid and what isn't and dates with amounts you never see half of it on their statements or the activity log. I have been fighting with them for 5 years over this and it's ridiculous. Not to mention their fees are ridiculous constantly going up as well as I proved they charged me the annual fee 2 and 3 times a year and they're refusing to even acknowledge this as well. It’s just there. And when you’re late one time they will report straight to the credit bureau and your score will drop 50 points. Even if you have no revolving credit with them. This review is not specifically for Brittany. This is for the company as a whole. I don’t understand how a business can operate in a way where I can get 4 completely different answers from 4 different people within the same hour. I paid off a delinquent account on January 22nd. I was originally told after I paid it off, it would release the hold on my other card when the payment clears. Yesterday, January 27th, I tried to use the card to bay a bill and it was declined. So I called to figure out what was going on. The first person I spoke with spent some time time looking into things before telling me she found the problem and was able to fix it and the balance should now be available on the card ending in 3627. She also informed me of an electronic letter that I received, which I was able to locate, and it was a record that the other account had been paid in full and the hold on 3627 had been released on January 24th.

So I tried to use the card again. Declined. So I called back. The next person I spoke with said there was still a hold on the account due to a balance on the delinquent account. I told her I did not think that this was correct and that I just spoke with someone who told me that account was in fact paid, the payment had cleared, and that I had a letter stating the same. She told me there was nothing she could do until I spoke with collections. So she transferred me there. Once on the phone with that department, they said I would have to speak with customer service because they showed the delinquent account to be paid in full and there was nothing on their end to do. Oh and they couldn’t transfer me back to customer service. So I called…again.

The next guy I talked to essentially told my that a payment was in the process of clearing and my balance would be available tomorrow. I told him that this did not make any sense as I had not made a payment today and the payment made was on the 22nd. He just became dismissive of what I was saying and would answer any questions I asked with “your balance will be available tomorrow”. At this point after being told now 4 different things, I asked him to speak with a manager. He told me again “your balance will be available tomorrow”. I said again that I wanted to speak to a manager and he told me that he could answer any questions I had. I had to ask him a third time to speak with a manager.

Fast forward to Brittany. She now tells me that the balance won’t be available for 45 days and that I will have to call then to find out when I can access the money. Companies like PBC exist to help people who are struggling financially by providing them with a high interest card with annual fees and they know that they have people’s backs against a wall so they are able to do business this way. I am disgusted that I have to leave my card open and I guarantee you that as soon as I am able to, I will be closing my account. Stay away from here and try and get your local credit union to help you out. Even if they don’t give you unsecured credit, they will help you with a secured card. Even a $200 secured card will help with you just as good as these jokers and you won’t have to pay NEARLY as much money nor have to deal with their atrocious customer service.

I was in a bind due to my own doing. But I worked hard, got my credit up and at the time Premier was one of the few that would approve me. I paid on time and eventually had my balance at 0 for over 6 months. I had a life event happen (my son was in a horrible accident and almost died). I totally forgot about the monthly fees on this card and missed a payment. They immediately dinged my credit. They wouldn't work with me even though I have paid and miss a monthly fee. They do not have any type of auto draft (which I think is on purpose so you will be even more likely to miss a payment). They are predatory at the best. So beware.

This is the biggest crooked Credit card company you can get involved with..Drag their feet in posting payments what is shown through credit card App is not what really going on. I paid 3 payments just in February and another $80 dollar payment on March 1st, 4 payments within 3 weeks of each other..Had a recurring bill hit my card of $12.95 that was the only charge to my account, had a warning that my $49 annual fee was coming and to expect a charge of $49 so that’s why I paid the $80 March 1st.

After interest, Annual fees, and what they say was the actual account figures not what they allow you to see but what they do through their own accounting. I was over my credit limit even after almost paying $200 in payments and my fee wasn’t due till 4/24/24 is what it showed until 3/25. The way they post and figure your account it put me over my credit limit and the only charge on that Credit card was a recurring monthly Walmart Benefit delivery fee of $12.95 even after 4 payments within 3 weeks of each other.

I called and what was showing me on the First Premier Bank app and what she told me when I could understand what she was saying..Let me know they are very, very ,very dirty and no matter how good of customer you are they are always looking out how to milk you for extra dollar..Being over my limit is extra money…I told the young woman to close my account immediately and it will be paid off before end of month..

This credit card company doesn’t care about you building back up your credit. It’s all about how they can maneuver and swindle you out of more money..I’d give anything to have never ever gotten a credit card through this very poor company..They also after hitting me with annual fee hit me every month with a $8.25 dollar account fee every month they charge this and this credit card company will NOT let automatic payments to be set up. They do not allow it. it’s the only account I have that will not allow automated payments praying you forget to make a payment so they can hit you with late payment fees..Truly this has to be illegal what this Credit Card company did to me this last 4 weeks…because they want an extra dollar crooked as hell swear it…

This was after speaking with a different employee who insured both my husband and I that we had the POA on file and that we should have no issues in the future. The first employee I spoke with today took the debit card number and didn't have any issues that it was my husbands debit card. There was issues and I had to call the the bank which held the debit. I asked if I would have issues and she said that she noted it in the account that they have permission to talk to me or my husband any time going forward. This was the second time it was noted.

Call back not even 30 mins later and Diana couldn't find it. She has to speak to my mother in law again and is asking questions that she doesn't know. Go to make she insures me that it is now in the correct spot but can't take the payment. I speak to Brittany who is an account supervisor who then tells me that Abby did note in the account that they are able to speak to me at any time. Specifically, I was scam by the some company into settling tuition fee forgiveness and they asked me to sign a bogus agreement which I was fooled enough to pay them $191 in advance to get this "contract/agreement" started. I then immediately realize it was a scam. I tried to reached out to the number they gave me but it was not a working number. I then contacted First Premier Bank and reported the situation. About 3 weeks later, First Premier Bank seemed to dispute the charge with the bogus Merchant KP Processing whom I was authorized for that scam $191.

Shortly afterward, the dispute somehow bounced back and I ended up added that $191 balance into my account. First Premier Bank did not contacted me to inform anything until I called CS and was told that due to my agreement/contract I had with KP Processing, there was nothing they can do. I then wrote a letter and submitted to First Premier Bank to close my account. I don't understand how a specialist from their dispute department would say that I entered into a contract with KP Processing. I reminded them that the contract was a FAKE CONTRACT, don't they get it. Anyhows. I wouldn't recommend anyone to sign up with this credit card company regardless of your credit.

My account balance was going up so much. Even after I closed the account. But I have to say, First Premier reached out to me with an amount I could handle. I now have it paid off. I want to thank them for helping me get that off my credit and working with me.

    Original Review: Oct. 29, 2023

I've worked so hard to get my credit up. And slowly but surely was getting there. Almost a year I got 23 collection off myself and went from 0 to 606. Was over the moon I was able to purchase a good vehicle. Just a couple more months I'd have it high enough to finally get into an apt or house. Not now. My credit dropped 60 and I'm livid. They don't have an email so I had to call and of course, they try to belittle you and try to make you feel stupid so I can never remember everything I need to say. Email I could. Ok had it 6 months.

At first no complaints. It was very expensive with the charges, which most of them I have no idea what they are. A couple purchases was removed but not the interest charges in my opinion I don't owe them at least $100. Possibly more if I sat down and figured All of the scripted details. Last couple months my card was locked. So no charge right? Apparently not. Hulu and Roku charged me 2 months over a misunderstanding we had. Regardless my card was locked. I finally get most of my money back. Checked my card. I had a few dollars I spent at store. Btw I didn't catch Hulu charges because my card was locked, didn't have reason to. Anyway I got bill I went over and have a $30 charge. I was not aware I could go over my limit and it was there when I swiped it. I'm kinda pissed but first major incident but there goes my perfect payment record on my credit.

This month I pay 30 and 60. Got messages the next day everything processed and new balance I was trying to get my balance down. I was proud of myself. I paid other bills and come to find it for some damn reason they didn't try to withdraw the payments until 4 days or so later. Omg really? Now it's gone because you said you got your money. Messing with them I keep getting nowhere. I going to figure it I bet anything I only owe $50 but I gotta keep paying these pp after I've already paid them and messed up my credit and payment history. I really trusted this company. My mistake.

I've had this card less than a year and it was my biggest mistake yet. Besides all the extra charges and such on the app it will say they've taken your payment from your account and it's being processed your balance will lower and everything BUT IT NEVER TAKES THE PAYMENT. It takes close to a week just for the payment to come out of your bank account even though the Premier app clearly says they've already taken the money so you think you still have money to spend. NOPE. Then premier charges you extra fees for not paying on time when they're the ones that made it look like you've already paid. Not worth the hassle. Will not be continuing with their card. The worst experience I've had with a credit card company ever. Essentially they are engaged in a big fraud scam. I applied for and received a credit card then I purchase a couple items and paid off the balance immediately along with the annual fee. Surely thereafter I was unable to use my card and it was declined. Being that I'm busy I didn't have time to sit down and go through the endless voicemail to get in touch with somebody. I looked online and my account looked just fine with no balance outstanding.

When I finally called the company they claimed that they had sent me a letter (they did not) asking me to upload a copy of my bank statement and confirm that the bank account I was using was my own. They didn't have any problem taking money out of the account but somehow they wanted verification that the account was mine. They also said that they had canceled my account. In any case, I uploaded the information they asked for and then they claim that they wanted verification of my income and debt liabilities. I'm quite sure what they are doing it's just going around getting people to pay the fee for their card and then canceling it. I'm filing a complaint with the department of Justice. These people are going to get what's coming to them. They're a bunch of crooks.

The yearly fee of $89.00 on top of the monthly fee of $8.00 should be illegal; especially when there is a zero balance. It took me 17 minutes to go the automated prompts, another 3 minutes to another ‘card specialist’. This lady was ADAMANT about not wanting to close my account. She said “we can refund you $45.00 of the $87.00 yearly fee”….Really? Then why didn’t you do that before I called. It was another 3 minutes of basically arguing with this women to cancel my account. Just a letter under my account notifications upon login (and I am not paperless). I tried for years to get my address changed however the bank would not accept it and is now telling me the only way to do this is to come in office (lived out of state at the time). The reason the address change is important is because for several years I did not use this bank after it went from Commercial Savings, to First Federal (obvious something's up to change that many times right?) then to Premier Bank. There was a mishap by a 3rd party company that withdraw money (money that wasn't there because I didn't bank with them any longer). As soon as the funds were denied, the 3rd party company contacted me, apologized and withdrew money from the correct Bank account (use Chase, much better bank).

I assumed this issue was handled however apparently there were fees accessed by this bank I was unaware of. They never called me- not once to notify me or contact me in any other way. Instead closed the account (GOOD) but reported it to a credit bureau. I was then contacted by an attorney office to collect and I settled the debit immediately (it was some small amount), I questioned the debt collector who reached out via phone and a letter to (magically) my correct address. They said the debt was settled and I shouldn't have issues. I unfortunately do as it shows on my credit report that the bank closed my account. I contact the credit bureau who recommend me contacting the bank directly.

The one lady who's responsible for debt collection "Elizabeth" was likely the rudest person I've ever spoken to, very deeming, condescending and consistently used my name like she was my mother. Wouldn't let me get a word in edge wise in her little lecture and then had the audacity to tell me I interrupted her after calling her our for being rude. It was clear she wasn't willing to help me or help me find a reasonable solution as she told me several times to go ahead and file a dispute but I would be wasting my time because she did everything right. Even if that is so, with how rude she was to me, I would never consciously recommend this bank. I tried to ask if there was any middle ground to get this turned around to witch I got the same snotty response that she did everything correctly. Lesson learned- close your accounts immediately with this small bank.

They mailed a card snail mail and it was stolen. This happened between August and September 2022. In September 2022 the card was used (in person) at a dozen or so stores outside the SF Bay Area. The creep thief was able to download Premier's app and change my contact info (email and phone). They began a spending spree. In two days racked up roughly 4600.00 in charges. The fraud alerts were going to the new email and phone which I didn't get.

Premier waited 60 days to finally contact me by mail. I got the letter right around Dec 1 2022. I asked why if a bill was 60 days late and almost maxed why didn't they contact me sooner? They said it was a courtesy on a new account. Wow. Way to protect me and my information. Now my credit has dropped many points and my utilization is up. They told me that due to the fraud investigation they wouldn't report it as late. Guess what? They did anyway. Now I have to wait until their half wit investigation is over. This bank and HSBC did nothing to protect me or my info. Their CSR people were casual and nonchalant. Stay far away from this bank and its cards.

This is a 100 percent Real Person and Review of First Premier Bank Credit Card. Since I'm not New to Credit and the System at all. Let me break it down to help out. If you never had a Credit Account or Choose not to build Credit or made some Mistakes and develop Bad Credit. They probably will approve you without a Security Deposit. But then you have to pay 95.00 upfront to access your available Credit. They bill your annual fee also. Mine was 125.00. That reduces your available Credit. So if you have 700.00 Limit it's really 575.00 available Credit. Then your Cash Advance is only 70.00 for the first 3 months. If you pay on time after then it Half of your Credit Limit. So mine was 350.00.

The fastest and easiest way to pay your bill is use the Green dot Reload at Register. All Walmarts and Walgreens have them plus other store. Just ask Register Clerk. There is a fee from 3.74 to 4.95 depends on store. This transaction posts to your account in 1 hour or less. And you will have Available Credit in that time frame. I was offered a Second Card and Account for On Time Payment. They Report to all 3 Credit Bureaus. Once you get a Higher Credit Score. Shop around for a Better Deal for your situation. They are not going to give you a high limit. 1 card is 700.00 2nd Card is 800.00. You can request increases but it takes a while for them to Approve it. Then they charge you 25.00 for every 100.00.

You can find better offers. But you have to have good payment history and 30 percent using the card to improve your score. I really had stop using Credit Cards so my File was Limited. Didn't bother me because I'm totally Debt Free!! Just using my Wells Fargo Debit Card. I turned them down for a Credit Card but they have a Better Deal than First Premier. But already had the 2 cards. That's all for now.

Premier Bankcard is billed as an unsecured credit card option for those with few other options. The reality is for an initial credit line of $300 you can anticipate paying a $95 program fee plus an additional $75 annual fee upfront. They don't really talk about the $75 fee until after they already have your $95. The $95 is paid before getting the card and the $75 is deducted from your initial limit. So, for $300 in credit you pay $170 to start. Your initial limit is actually $225. You must also be extremely careful paying your bill in order to avoid late fees. Even payments made on the due date are counted late if they are past 5pm. Any hold placed on the card lasts a total of 15 days as opposed to the standard 7 before removed from available credit. The customer service staff is also rude and unhelpful even if you are in good standing. All in all, this is a horrible experience. I recommend looking for other options if you have them.

My credit card was closed due to 2 missed payments in 90 days back in June. This is ridiculous considering I made a payment every month. The website forces you to put in card information for automatic payment. My payment dates and other bills don't align with an automatic payment arrangement so every month I get insufficient funds fees from First Premier bank. I have called them about taking my card off automatic payment once before. Their website is out of date. Won't even take credit and debit card payments. Send you to a third party website to make a credit or debit card payment . After that you still have to enter your account number which is your card number which I shredded because I have accrued so many fees from this credit card company it is ridiculous.

The customer service representative was not helpful when I explained that my account is not closed if I am still actively making payments. I have paid this credit card off and nothing has been reporting to my credit each month but a closed account. This impacts my credit two ways - a closed account reporting each month and no active payments reporting. The app is hell to deal with the passwords they want you to put it are ones you can't remember have to have it to your websites. I will tell anyone to not get a card from here. It takes a long time (two weeks) for the payment to come out if you have to use account and routing number. Go with Discover.

They were a good card at first... but little did I know if you pay thru the app it takes a week to process the payment therefore it got declined. Because the payment showed on my end it was paid I used what thought was in my account at the time. And fund were not there. Once I figured it out I used a different account to make my payment. It went thru fine that time but I got a letter today stating they canceled my account for the previous return payment.

I called them to ask why it was closed. They told me even tho my payment did get paid since I had a return payment on there the security team closed the account...they said they can't re open it unless the payment was a bank error. So I got a card made my payment and now have closed card with a balance that is going to go on my credit as bad payments. I got the damn card to build my credit. Now it just made it worse. So my advice is if you do go thru them make your payment by phone with your debit card. It takes it immediately. Waste of time in my opinion

My card never came or was sent for that matter leaving me to have to call and get another one sent which cost me another $35 taken off of my already short credit line. How convenient of them to say they sent the card and it never comes with the second one coming within days of them mailing it. Sounds kind of funny right. I had set up my account to be electronically withdrawn from and had two months in a row Christmas and this month where I couldn't do it that way. I communicated with the company and was told make my payment when I had it. 3 days after the second payment was due I paid the entire card off. This company failed to tell me that because of the two electronic payments not being withdrawn regardless of an agreement that I had set up with them that that automatically discontinued my card and that I would have to have it opened again.

When I made the payment no such information was forthcoming in fact the opposite. I was told that my card would be available for use the next day. When I go to use it 2 days after I made the payment I found out that it was locked at which time 2 hours later I received an email through the app letting me know that my card had been locked! Of course that was after I gave them 600 plus dollars!! Now they are claiming that it will take them 3 to 5 business days to fix the issue. Meantime my travel plans have me stuck two state lines away for another week until they fix my card!!! I've had two credit cards with 1st Premier, one since 2015 and the other since 2017 always paying early and keeping my user amount under 6%. This obviously doesn't matter to them because they seem to not care about protecting my accounts! They allowed someone to tell them to cease and desist my phone number back in 2018 causing me to have problems accessing my accounts! It's been fine all along for all the years except all of the sudden on 01/13/22 they removed my phone number from my accounts so I can't access my accounts unless I have an access code emailed to me or call customer service. So they have taken away my texted access code to my phone!! All because someone attacked my account and had my phone deleted from my account!

I've talked to Supervisors and employees about this issue but they say I positively must give them a letter to reinstall my phone number on my account! So this is an extremely weak company allowing people at random to call and attack your accounts. What I don't understand is why after this letter in 2018 after years of getting an access code by phone now they want to pull my phone and make me send in a letter to remove the cease and desist letter! This doesn't make any sense to me why all of the sudden this matters after all these years. Bottom line don't get any cards from this company unless you want your account attacked by unauthorized people!!!! Also their attitude was they could care less!!!!

Well, unlike others on here, I managed to get an increase in credit from 300 to 500. Was ALWAYS on time. Never late. Had some jerk off take over the bank accounts I pay from, and two consecutive payments, like days apart because I couldn't figure out what was going on, two consecutive payments got returned. Now right before this, I got that increase AND, qualified for the next better card up the ladder, with a limit of 700, no money up front required, though that $95 a year fee and monthly fee came out right away. Now, those incompetent jerks CLOSED BOTH accounts, are still demanding I pay the annual fee on the card I never even received before they closed it, 6 days after they approved it, never gave me a chance to explain anything.

I had never been late, and never had returned payments before. They told me when I called that no matter what, if you have two returned payments over the life of the account, doesn't matter how many months or years apart, after two nsf payments, they close ALL of your credit cards with them. If they are gonna make me pay an annual fee for a card account that I only had 6 days and never got to use, they need to reopen it. Too bad so sad, you approved it, eat it. That account has zero to do with the other. Now my minimum due is somehow 800+ bucks, I'm over 600 over the limit on the other. At best, the balance should be 700 over because they cleared the payments, updated my line of credit reflecting that payment was successful. Let me use that amount. Maybe those payments actually did go through before the jerk that took over my bank accounts emptied them.

I called and got credit back from the banks right away though. Maybe I shouldn't trust First Premier. It doesn't make sense, the amount due and total balance don't make sense, and their policies, the way they conduct business just doesn't make sense. Oh yeah and when I called, no empathy statements about my recent ID theft, in fact the woman basically implied that I was a liar and a dead beat, trying to defraud Premier Bankcard! How awful! And when I worked for Citicards, (that's another horror story for another time) we didn't close all their accounts for only two returned payments on one or more accounts. It had to be a consistent issue at least over 5 times.

And the letter First Premier sent me states that in an attempt to circumvent fraud and possible fraud on accounts, their system recognized suspicious activity on my account, so all of my credit card accounts with them are suspended. No further explanation as to how to fix it, if the accounts can ever be unsuspended or reopened. Nothing. Call customer service and they sound bored, are accusatory, and basically say "too bad so sad". What an awful company. The morale in their call centers is probably low because they probably treat their employees as badly as they treat their good customers. Thanks for NOTHING First Premier losers.!!! Sorry, not gonna grammar or spell check guys. I'm very tired. Merry Christmas to you all!

I believe this bank is a part of a scam operation. They allow fraudulent charges on the card. Then, when you jump through their hoops to dispute the charge using their archaic dispute process, they will "investigate" the charges (or so they claim), close your account, open a new account, and then determine that you have to pay the fraudulent charges on top of that.

I got this card and some others in order to build credit to buy a house for my family, my mom, and my disabled brother. We need a lot of house, and I have to pull it off myself. I needed more credit. I seldom used this card and only enough to keep it active. I paid it off frequently as well. I was surprised to see a $217 charge that I didn't make. I discovered that it was a fraudulent charge on a website I never visited.

I disputed the charge with First Premier Bank. Their process requires you to complete a form on a printed statement, scan it, and upload it on their website. I knew then that this was going to be a problem. Who uses such an archaic dispute method? I was shocked to learn they responded to the dispute by closing my account and opening a new account. If you're in the process of buying a home, that is a devastating blow to your credit. We had a pre-approval letter in hand, and having a new account opened after it was issued disqualified that letter. Our mortgage broker discovered it as we were preparing an offer on the house we picked out. It was so disappointing. It is such a hard time to find and buy a house.

I called First Premier Bank, and to add insult to injury, they said that they determined that I was liable for the $217 fraudulent charge even after they closed my account and opened a new account that I never authorized. I certainly couldn't keep a card that allows fraudulent charges and then makes me liable for those charges. So, I was forced to close the account - the brand new account I didn't authorize to be opened in the first place. Now I have two closed accounts on my credit report in addition to paying them $217 on what shows up as a recently opened account (that I never authorized).

Laughingly, they offered me a $45 credit to keep the account open. I wonder if that was so they could go spend another $217 of my money? I am so regretful that I ever did business with such an evil company. Because of them, we have had a setback of months to fix this issue. Months that my Mom and disabled brother will have to wait to get the live-in help they need. There's a hot corner in hell waiting for the folks behind First Premier Bank.

He told me that as long as I owe he would keep calling who he has to to get a hold of me. They’re completely unprofessional and if life happens, they become cold and rude. They will harass you. After the guy gave me an attitude on the phone I told him not to call me. When I have it I would call them to which he responded. “No. I’ll call you on Friday so you can pay your bill” and hung up. I then started receiving text messages which I never have about my payment being due. They’re awful.

I pay my Bill religiously and They still charge me almost $100.00 a month in fees. This is truly one of the worst credit card companies to use.

I got this card, and immediately used half of my limit, in order to start paying it off and help my credit. What a joke. After that I was rejected at numerous retailers online and otherwise, as if they thought somebody was using a stolen card or ??? I contacted them (which is excruciating since they don't answer calls, don't list an email or any other way to reach them other than a postal address). Though I don't blame Experian or Credit Karma for a decision I made I have to say their "overenthusiastic" endorsement of the card really sold me and I wished I'd made a more informed decision. This company is horrible. Their cards are horrible. With a good $200 remaining credit and apparently no way to use it, I shredded the card. I will pay it off and be done with them forever. What a mess. Capital One is who I should've stuck with. I'll definitely continue working with them. AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE!

I paid off 2 accounts & closed them in early October. I waited until the payments had posted, then followed up with a phone call to make sure accounts were closed- I was assured they were, after I was told that one account had a $38 balance left for a $99 yearly membership fee. I reminded the representative that I was no longer a member so in reality, they owed me $61. She agreed & assured me both accounts were at $0 balance & closed. My credit score dropped 50 points in less than 2 months, and I couldn’t figure out why. I pay my bills early & always double the minimum due- nothing on my credit report was showing delinquent & I was at a loss as to what happened. Sunday, 1/24/21 I received a statement from First Premier that my payment was past due.

3 months after accounts were closed I’m past due!!!! I had to create a new user name & password because I had deleted everything & cut the cards up. When I was finally able to access accounts, they hadn’t been closed at all and they were charging me monthly maintenance fees & past due fees on both accounts. One showed a balance of $187 and the other was over $200. I was shocked as to how this could happen & furious that someone’s incompetence had ruined my credit. I called & got nowhere with representative, so I asked for a manager.

She could have cared less that my credit had been ruined & they had completely mishandled my accounts. She told me she could do a charge off on both accounts, which is very bad on your credit report, so her idea was to make it worse & she just didn’t care. I told her that what she better do was make it right & send a letter to Experian to tell them the information they provided was false. She stated “nothing I can do about your credit” but agreed to take the charges off. I advised her that I was contacting the Better Business Bureau, Experian & posting a negative review. Her response was “Oh I hope you post a nice review for us.” Totally unacceptable & unprofessional.

I did file a complaint with the BBB, and Experian the same day, and I had an email from BBB the next day. They filed the complaint & contacted First Premier, I suppose they took that seriously because they responded to BBB right away, albeit with untruths & lies, but I had their attention. I DID NOT accept their response to make the accounts right; I responded that they needed to make my credit right with Experian & fix my credit score. Waiting for a response from them, but they're a terrible company & I would strongly discourage anyone from opening an account with First Premier. They will not do the right thing & extremely unprofessional company.

    Updated review: Dec. 25, 2020

To all who might read this post, I had previously posted a review on this company relaying how I had my account closed by the Loss Control Department due to some returned payments that were caused by an error on my part with an account number submitted to the online payment system. After many calls to the customer service department I received no positive response on reopening my account after the problem was corrected and replacement payments were made.

    Original Review: Dec. 22, 2020

Attempting to rebuild credit after discharge of Chapter 7. That is the only reason I would have even considered a card of this nature. Was approved and received a nice credit line. Gladly paid fees and began to use the card. In an attempt to be proactive keeping by debt to credit limit ration down, I made a couple of quick payments well before the first invoice due date. The problem started when, by accident, I transposed the last four digits of my checking account number with my debit card number. This caused those payments to be returned by my bank. Once I was aware of this problem, I immediately contacted customer service to advise them of my error. I requested that they attempt to either resubmit or cancel the other two payments before they were returned, but they said it was too late.

In an effort to make up for the returned payments, I immediately corrected the account number and made two payments for a greater amount of the returned ones. Even after those payments cleared successfully, to my surprise I received notice that my account had been suspended due to the returned payments. I contacted customer service to explain the error again and ask for consideration to take the suspension off of my account. Instead of going with my request, their Loss Control Department closed my account, and I quote, "at their discretion". I called customer service again and asked to speak to someone in the Loss Control Department, and their response was that they don't take direct calls from customers. I was told to have my bank send them them a letter on their letterhead and explain the error for the returns.

I reminded the customer service representative that I had made the error not the bank, and the error had been corrected so there was no reason to bother my bank with the issue. I related to them that if the Loss Control Department would simply review the payment history, it would show them that the account numbers had be corrected and two successful payments had been processed in the system. I relayed again that I had no problem paying the return fees. I just didn't want this unmerited closure to show up on my credit report.

I advised the customer service representative that I would be sending a certified letter to the CEO, and relating to him the treatment I had received since making an honest mistake with the wrong account number. Honestly, I will be very surprised if I receive any response from that letter. Bottom line was that I was never delinquent on my account; made payments to clear up for the returned ones; and gladly offered to pay the return fees due to my mistake, but got no consideration or second chance from this department.

I opened a Premier card 9/2020. Made a few purchases, made a payment. Remaining available credit was suspended. I called to inquire, they said they needed to confirm method of payment. I thought this was odd, as it was the same method of payment that was used to pay the annual fee and additional card fee. A week goes by, I receive an electronic letter saying they need confirmation of payment and gave me a list of ways to remedy the situation. I sent a letter, copy of the debit card used, copy of a voided check that was attached to the debit card, and copy of my husband's license. (It is a joint account. He is the primary on the checking account). Payment was applied and new cards were received.

3 weeks later, made a purchase. Tried to make a payment (Due 12/10/2020) using the same debit card as before, received a recording that my card was suspended. Went to the website and initiated a payment by electronic check. That was accepted, however my account was still "suspended". I understand they "may hold payments for up to 20 days". That is why I made the payment so early, as to leave time for the payment to post and avoid a late fee. What I don't understand is why the remaining available credit was suspended.

If this is what making a payment is like every month, or if paying early will trigger a suspension (while using payment information previously verified) what is the point in having this, what appears to be, a dumpster fire of a credit card? It seems there is zero communication between departments and the customers suffer. I am ok with the minimal monthly fee, that is the cost of rebuilding credit, however sabotaging customers is deceptive and unscrupulous. Utilizing my credit limit has yielded an increase of 67 points, so maybe it's time to give another credit card company a try.

So this month, I got on to pay the bill, there’s ANOTHER overdraft fee of 50 something dollars PLUS my monthly payment.

These overdraft fees are not coming from purchases that I’ve previously made, but charges that First Premier keeps adding to my account. I have NEVER missed a payment or EVER had a late payment. I cancelled this credit card and went with a secure Discover card which became an unsecured card in 8 months with a $2000.00 limit increase. While most credit cards for bad credit from major card issuers have comparatively high APRs, none of them come close to the First Premier Bank Credit Card's APR of 36% for purchases and cash advances. (For cash advances, you’ll pay the 5% transaction fee noted above and the 36% APR.) Used it often, paid more than the minimum, made extra payments, etc. But because I made ONE "PayPal CashCard" "bank draft" for one of my payments, that by the way, has a Wells Fargo routing & account number, and Premier doesn't like or have a relationship with, they rejected it and canceled my account, but did not notify me. There is NO LIST of banks they don't like, so you would have no way of avoiding this problem. I did not know they suspended me, but I saw the money that I did the bank draft for still sitting in my paypal acct, called Premier back, and used the SAME paypal account, but with its debit card to redo the payment, which brought me to a zero balance, not knowing they had cancelled me and not being told that by their by customer service either.

Basically, they profit by charging you enormous setup fees, and once they get your money, cancel you. They market themselves as a bank to help you build your credit, but truth is, they will take your money & lower your credit score. Setting up a credit card degrades your credit, but is worth it because it allows you to demonstrate your ability to borrow & pay back, but canceling your account degrades it even more, and with no time to establish a history of borrowing & paying back, you just are left worst than they found you. Bottom line is that you will pay $100 to $200, lose your credit line, and lower your credit score with First Premier Bank. I am pursuing a lawsuit because first Premier bank is a scam, taking advantage of folks trying to re establish their credit. This is exploitation.

I was rebuilding my credit after a divorce, so I didn't mind the fees, deposit, etc. My credit score went up and I received a notice from the company that I could open a second card. I was still rebuilding my credit, so I did it. I have had the same issues as others: taking too long to post payments, declined and having to verify my identity, paying exorbitant fees, and payments showing they were made but my available credit never changing.

Fast forward to yesterday, I get an electronic letter for both of my accounts stating they were SUSPENDED for a returned payment on both accounts...for a single returned payment 2 months ago that I corrected immediately since it was just a simple human error while typing in the payment date. I sent an electronic inquiry requesting that my accounts be taken off of suspension because they are current and have never been reported negatively the whole time I've had them. This morning, I get two more electronic letters stating that my accounts have been closed but will continue to charge monthly fees and interest until I pay off the accounts.

I had eventually wanted to transfer my balances to a more reputable card now that my credit score has gone up, but I'm afraid these bogus account closures will affect that credit score making it nearly impossible to get a balance transfer from my bank (or a better card). Indeed, this company is predatory. I understand why people use them. I had to rebuild like many other people, and unfortunately they trap you. If you're with them now, pay your balance down. I paid the second card off and asked them to kindly remove both card records from my file as I know have a successful business but having a difficult time due to the COVID-10 pandemic, and because of that we are trying to get a loan to help us get through this difficult times. A loan so I can continue to give my workers paid time off as to prevent the spread of the virus. The gentleman I spoke to said they will never take it off my credit report, either one of them and that my business is not their problem. That the cards account closed before the virus so how does it pertain to now. I explained to him it would improve my chances of getting a loan and/or give us a favorable APR on the loan. He does not care and was not willing to do anything.

Moral of this story is that this company doesn't care about you, the consumer, what they care about is all the fees and money they make off Americans who are struggling to rebuild credit. Whether it be poor decisions from the past, job lay off, or perhaps an injury the damaged your credit, people do change and it is difficult for people to repair their credit especially with companies like First Premier Bankcard that prey on people who are already struggling. Then when we need help the most in the face of a pandemic and people are dying every day, they won't even alter their policies that could help thousands of Americans get loans or better rates to help get through these difficult times. We have all made sacrifices. I discourage anyone from getting a card from them and encourage anyone with one to pay it off and close your accounts right away. It will only hurt you to remain with them as they get richer.

This company is a real piece of work. I had two cards w/them both w/ $700 limits. I paid off the 2nd one IN FULL & CLOSED THE ACCOUNT. I had a balance of roughly $350 on the 1st one. I then lost the card. When I called to report it, instead of transferring me to the department that could help CANCEL THE CARD, they sent me to the collection dept. I was 10 days late on paying $36.00, $36 DOLLARS! Would you believe they would not send me a replacement card UNLESS I paid them?? Keep in mind this is during the Chines Virus crisis gripping the nation. Complete dirtbags run this bank. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!!!

This credit card company is absolutely horrible!!! HORRIBLE!!! They charged me a $95 annual fee before I could even open my account so I pay the fee then they give me a $300 credit limit. I only used the card for gas and food then I owed them $89. I paid the $89 dollars to them and go to use my card for gas again thinking I had money left on it cause I know I didn’t use my whole credit limit and then the card gets declined and I’m confused at this point. I call and ask them why and they don’t give me a answer. All they tell me is it’s something to do with my bank and I call my bank and they tell me my payments are going through and that I need to call the credit card company.

I then check the app and they took a $75 out for ANOTHER ANNUAL FEE!!!! When I already PAID $95 FOR THAT ANNUAL FEE!! Then I get a notification on my phone from Credit Karma that my CARD HAS BEEN CLOSED!!!! How has it been closed when I’ve made all my payments on time and haven’t used my full balance, I call customer service and get to speak with a lady and she tells me that my bank has been sending back the payments but yet my bank statements show that the money has been getting taken out and been getting sent to First Premier, I tell them that and they said it’s fraud like how was it fraud when I own the card and the payments have been getting taken out of my account for 2 months now!!!!

I ask to speak with a manager and she transferred me to her supervisor the supervisor doesn’t let me talk and tells me that the $95 was sent back to me and I never received it in my account cause they took the money already and then proceeds to tell me that they took $75 out toward another annual fee and then tells me that my account was closed cause I haven’t been making payments when I obviously have been cause the money is missing from my account. She was very rude and didn’t let me talk at all!

I tell her that they have been stealing money from me cause I have my bank statements and every payment went through to them and she then yells at me and says, "YOU NEED TO CALL YOUR BANK AND TALK TO THEM!!!" I then say “okay so my account is closed and I owe you nothing” and she says “correct” so I said “okay then I’m done using you guys” and hang up. This bank is lying and dishonest with their customers and steal money from you. I would never recommend this bank to anyone!!! DO NOT USE THEM FOR ANYTHING. THEY HAVE HIDDEN FEES AND ARE NOT HELPFUL AT ALL!!!

I had applied for this card not knowing there was a fee because they don’t tell you until after they “approve” your application. I never paid anything for it because I lost interest after learning that I have to pay a program fee. Long story short I just received a bill for $416.72 from a third party collecting company for something I never activated. Don’t bother with this company.

They threatened to hurt your credit if you call to cancel your card. I had been making my payment faithful and I check my card online to find I'm over the card limit. I was shock like how did this happen. I hardly use this card. Then I call to get a better understanding and I got nowhere. Never again First Premier. Never! You guys are stealing from your customers. Be warned everyone. This card WILL NOT help you. They will stealing your hard earned money. DO NOT APPLY FOR THIS CARD OR YOU WILL PAY$$$!

First off they made me pay a 95 dollar fee to start. Which I expected but then they dont allow you more credit than about 200 to start when you should have 300. The first week seemed fine. I paid 30-20 at a time to help myself. Then two days ago I tried to use the app. It only allowed a payment option of a checking account so I added my chase account. I decided I'll just pay off the entire amount. Well I looked and I got charged the 75 dollar annual fee. So there went 75 dollars of my paid off amount. I then look and it says I have no available credit after I paid off the whole card. So I call the customer service & they tell me that because I used my checking account & not a debit card that there's a hold on my card... even though that's the ONLY option they give you for payment on the app. So now I have no access to the credit I PAID FOR TWO DSYS AGO. They said I'll have access in about 20 days!!!! I seriously laughed out loud!!!

The customer service lady was SO rude & I sarcastically said, "Ohh ok that makes totaly sense!" NOT! Where do they even get these ppl! Lol it's like they come from the most ghetto area of the city and they all don't give a crap about you or what you're paying. Total ROBBERY!!! I told her, "WWell thank you SO much for your undivided help I'll be getting rid of you guys' card." Even wanting to restore your credit please stay AWAY from this horrible company!!!!

I signed up for a credit card with First Premier Bank in Sept of 2019. Everything has been great till Feb 2020! I have paid my balances every month on time. Not an issue. Suddenly I make the final pay off in Feb 2020 just like I have every other month before that and all hell broke loose. Just because I made my full balance payments every single month on time they decided to believe that I am using someone else’s account or debit card to make my payments (Laughing hysterically). They freeze my credit card with no warning. No email, no phone call and or no letter in the mail. I found out by checking my account as I do every single month just to see if I’m doing alright. I see $0.00 as my credit limit and $.85 as my credit owed. I’m wondering why is it showing $0 as credit limit?! I’m think eh, maybe their app is under some updating and the accurate info will show up the next day. Nope!!

This showed for 3 days, so I decided to call and ask what’s going on! They proceed to tell me they froze my account and need me to send them a copy of my driver licenses, social Security card, bank statement showing my account info and a picture of my debit card because they want to make sure I am not using someone else’s account to make my *outstanding payments* (laughing hysterically). They say it’s for MY protection! Ha. Ha. No! I immediately call my bank to ask is this is even accurate, they told me exactly this “DO NOT DO IT! Cut that card up NOW!” Welp, that’s exactly what I did! I had to prove my identity, bank info and etc all that BEFORE I got approved for the card - why do you need it again?! Yeah, folks don’t waste your time!! Move on!!

I have read several of the reviews for this credit card and I must say with all honesty that not one person got it wrong. This company is dishonest and has exuberant fees. I just closed my account today 2/22/2020 because of these fees. $79 annual fee plus $12 monthly fee!! Hello!!!! They're charging me $223 a year for a $700 credit limit which results to 31.8% of my limit. That is a blatant crime and theft and I would like to know where are our gov't agencies to protect us from fraud like this!!! Nowhere in their original offer do they mention any monthly fee for starters.!! Plus I read another lady's comment how they repeat themselves over and over again and you go absolutely nowhere with the conversation. Terrible all around!!!!

Don't get yourself frustrated. Just stay away!! Need to build credit. Find some other way!! Save money. Build bank accounts not ** credit. Don't let this ** system of credit stop you and their ** way of accessing your credit. Save your money and don't spend a dime!! They'll need you more and your score will sky rocket!! This company is a rip off. They charged me a fee to hold the card, on all of my purchases, $125 annual fee, a monthly processing fee and credit protection fee. Your bill is $40-$50 before they include your purchases. I have 3 other credit cards, none with all of these ridiculous monthly fees, they are ripping people off (Beware). I paid in entirety which was over $1000, just to get rid of the card, I paid in full and cancelled the card and everything and the next week they tell me that they are still billing me for all of the monthly fees and that the person that closed the card (at my request) forgot to tell me that I'm still responsible to pay the monthly fees. Now they cut-up in the garbage where it belongs.

I won't wish my worst enemy to bank with First Premier Bank. Why? Because they are nothing but scammers. First, I paid $95 ACTIVATION FEE, then paid $75 ANNUAL FEE in advance, then LOADED MY CARD UP TO $300. I used it to build credit. But I changed my mind after a few months, and tried to cancel my account, thinking that I would be able to do so in a few minutes. Contrary to my thoughts, First Premier Bank charged me $328.00. When asked what those charges are for, they said they were my unpaid balance and late fee. When I heard that, I laughed due to their absurdity. How can First Premier Bank charge me $300 when it's up to my discretion to load my secured credit card?

As for credit, they denied me of $30 credit right before I tried closing my account. Conclusion, First Premier Bank never heard what my husband and I tried to say; "$300 was my money I used up. You, bank did not give me a dime of credit at any point. For you to come at me with $460 (as of today), you need to provide us with FACT SHEETS." Their operation is insanity. Repeating the same thing over and over again expecting different results. All they do up to this date is to repeatedly call me and repeatedly tell me I owe them $460. Do not ever get any credit card from First Premier Bank or become their customer. They are scammers. They never answer your questions either but try to distract you. They have sent my "bill" to my credit and now I have a delinquent payment posted by a scam company, and they keep on harassing me over the phone.

I use my card and on day 1 the card is declined. For some reason it has been suspended. I contact customer service and accept responsibility for any and all charges. I am told to wait about a week. After 2 weeks, I receive a verification request in the mail. I contact customer service and am ready and willing to get this over with. I ask if I can take photos and send via email? I am informed that this company does not have email?! GTFOH. They require your personal info to be sent in an envelope for review. In addition, the request states, "process may take up to 30 days." GTFOH. SMH. This week I am paying off and closing the account. After paying $95, and having usage for half of one day, it is only fair that I blow up the customer service line to voice my dissatisfaction with the entire experience. I do not anticipate reimbursement, so $95 dollars buys me repeated explanations that I just 'don't understand'. Lol.
