    Was she I was supposed to get relief stimulus for covered by IRS. I sent the IRS all the information so that I can get my deposit so now I have to wait for the damn thing by the mail. So yeah not happy.

    My stimulus check was deposited into an account that was inactive and I no longer have a card attached to. I had opened a business account since my last tax refund and had allowed my personal account to just fade away. I was able to have a new card sent to me that had the balance from my stimulus check on it, and close the business account I no longer needed in less than five minutes. Awesome.

    The government stimulus check had been deposited to an account that was closed, I kept calling 3 days in a row. Waited 3hrs one of those days, I was desperate my rent was due, then through the grace of God a customer service agent in lost or stolen cards helped me not only clear my account up but held on the line while I ran to the nearest gas station to purchase a new one so I could have my funds immediately, I wish I would have caught her name, because she saved me and my family from eviction. Hats off to your customer service, it's the very best.. And I tell all my friends this story. Thank you so much.

    Being fair I’d rate them 2 stars only because they will send cards, but never answer the phone. For an example I had a card that I had to replace because it was lost. Because I never use it they sent me another card and they won’t assist me on hooking it up because it still goes into my old account and I just get emails that are the same random emails. No assistance at all. Not to mention, the fees are absolutely ridiculously high for using your own money! Seriously I’d use Chime (had that card 3 years... never a problem!! Cash app etc... They are associated with PayPal too which has ridiculous fees too. I’d use only If it’s vital that you have to have a card.. They do send cards quick.

    Hello my name is David and I'm from Portland, Oregon. My problem started about 3 weeks ago now, and it all began when my cell phone bill was due and due to the coronavirus my mobile carrier has no locations open so they tell you if you don't have a debit card to go purchase a prepaid card from the store to pay your bill online. I proceeded to the nearest convenient store which happened to be a 7/11 where they have a few different prepaid cards to pick from and boy I wish I knew then the horrible experience I was about to get myself into in the following weeks after.

    I grabbed a NetSpend Prepaid card off the shelf and took it to the counter and told the clerk, "I would like to put $80.00 on this card sir" and he rang me up, and if I'm not mistaken the total came up to approximately $82.95. So $2.95 to put $80.00 in this card so I can get mine and my girlfriend's phone bill paid since she is on my account also. I go out to my car and go online to the website where the card directs you to to activate your card so you can begin to use it, and I do absolutely everything that was asked of me only for it to tell me "Something went wrong" and I will have to talk to someone in their customer care department.

    Ok so a little irritated I call 1-866-387-7363 where I'm greeted by an automated message telling me that due to the coronavirus they're experiencing I high volume of calls and to please make use of their website or call back later and hangs up on me.... Oh and I forgot to say the message also said something about they know how valuable my time is to...? Ok so I'm a pretty level headed guy, patient and understanding, they probably are getting bombarded with call after call about people's stimulus checks right.

    Well going on 3 weeks now I still haven't got anyone to answer my probably 50 to 60 phone calls I have made to them, staying on hold up to 2 and a half hours on more than one occasion. I am really just at a loss for words at this point. How can this even happen, your message says you're open regular business hours 8 am to 6pm or whatever it says, is there anyone really answering phones there or from there homes?? I understand the crisis and all but come on this is ridiculous. So anyone ever need to get a prepaid card DO NOT PICK NETSPEND!! Go with Green Dot or anyone else for that matter.. Thank you and be safe everyone....

    This was one of the worst companies I've ever had to work with. I bought 3 of these Netspend Debit Visa cards so that I could load them with money for my kids. The package said activation was simple and I figured they would be a good way to give them money to spend. However, after I got home with them and reading the fine print, these cards are absolutely RIDICULOUS! The charges to do anything are completely absurd and to use this as anything other than a convenient way to pay a couple large bills would be an incredibly moronic way to waste money. Each purchase they will steal $1-2 and if you don't use your card for a while, they will charge you $6!

    I figured I would go ahead and activate the cards and use the money on them in as few purchases as possible in order to reduce my losses, but the activation process was infinitely more difficult than the packaging promised. I went to the website to activate, but little do they tell you that you CANNOT activate without talking to an actual person, who happens to be people from India who have terribly thick accents and a very limited ability to understand English. After a wait time of about an hour, I found myself spelling almost every simple word or name repeatedly, and being put on hold several more times during the call.

    After I had finally given the agent far more information than I'd feel comfortable giving someone I actually trust, he returns from a hold to tell me that I had to now send him copies of my photo ID, social security card and a recent utility bill with my current address. So then I had to call back and waste another hour on hold and another 30 minutes completing activation. When he finishes, he tells me that the activation was only for one of the cards, and I'd have to activate the other two separately, IF I would even be able. He sounded unsure if I could even activate more than one card in my name, and he said my minor children couldn't use their credentials either. But I can't "potentially" get my refund until I activate them....

    At this point I couldn't be more done with this process and have repeatedly thought about throwing the stupid things away, but can't convince myself to waste all that money that I had to pre-load onto the cards. I completely despise this company and will certainly never again consider one of their products, or their parent corporations products; TSYS.

    Last month, somebody, somehow, got the last four numbers of my card. They told NetSpend, “I’m Steve ** and I lost my card. Send me another one.” Then a card ending in ** was used. $658 was taken out at three different locations. No one knows my PIN number, not even my fiancé. I’ve never given out my wallet or my card. I have complete proof that it wasn’t me, but it took NetSpend 30 days to reimburse me.

    Unfortunately, a couple of days ago, I found even more that I missed. Someone went to the Chase Bank and took out $300 at 11:02 AM. Then at 11:04 AM, they took out another 300. I didn’t even know that I had a credit limit that big. Then they took out another 100. Then they went to Target and got 200. They bought something and it was $216. They used ATM machines at Safeway. I visited CVS Pharmacy and it was only $32, so I know that was an in-house purchase. We got them on camera and followed their pattern and every single place they went to. Every time they took out money, they did a balance inquiry, which cost me 50 cents.

    NetSpend is gonna cover all that. However, I’m still a renter right now and it killed me right before rent. My other bank, Wells Fargo, would call me up and go, “This isn’t like your spending pattern. Are you okay?” Not NetSpend. They just go, “Let him keep spending money. Look at all the money he’s spending. He’s taking cash out and not buying too many things.” Talk about a red flag and the biggest red flag happened last month. I even did the mobile alert, but it didn’t signal me. NetSpend allowing this to happen is just mind-boggling.

    When I emailed them, they said that they have my information and gave me my claim number. Last time, I called, it was a cluster. They said that they'd get me over to the fraud department, but they never called back. The fraud department guy said they'd reimburse me and put $20 into my bank. And that $20 didn’t even go when he said it would. It still took them two weeks to put 20 dollars in. They should be calling me, going all over the issue, and working as a team. They should also have police reports.

    Updated on 04/25/2020: I have been a customer for over 10 years with Netspend. Today they shut my account down for a transaction I made and said I could no longer be a customer with them. I ordered takeout because we are on lockdown. My stimulus check Is supposed to go to this account too. I have no way to pay my bills or access my money. It’s not fraud when you make the transaction. I verified all of my information correctly and the transaction amount. They still said it’s fraud and couldn’t discuss the rest of the details with me. I’m left without any money to live. This is unreal! I can’t believe this is happening right now. I have no way to take care of my family.

I have been calling customer service since this morning because I could not use my card or withdrawal money from my card. I only got an Agent once. She said my card was restricted and didn’t know why and she would transfer me. I got hung up each time someone answered. Then the automated system tells me your company is closed. I spent all day on the phone and got nowhere!!!! What is going on with my account? This is absolutely the worst. I don’t have access to my money and no one is helping me at all!!!

    Closed my account for no reason. I even called before I sent my direct deposits. Representative said my account is in good standing before Covid 19 pandemic they stopped all my direct deposits. Because of that he caused problems with stimulus direct deposit. Do Not Go them All access with NetSpend. I haven't gotten paid in over a month and I have kids and bills to pay.     The NetSpend card is really good. I get paid two days faster. I like it. I just got my aunt to get one yesterday. One day, I added some cash up there, and it took about two days for the cash to load on my card. I called the woman at the store and she said that maybe it was just their system. I gotta wait till the money get up there. Every time I try to pay with my card, it was saying declined. I just put money up here so it couldn’t be declined.     This is a complete mess of a business. I lost my card, I have moved and I cannot log in online, so I call...and call, and call. NOBODY will take my call. I get a recording after having to run around the phone system only to be told I can't talk to anyone and login online. I CAN'T without my card. This is a total ** show and I am not happy about it. Very poor customer service. Pandemic or not, I know call reps can work from home and I can't even get an option to hold for someone. The one star is because 0 stars are not an option

    Hi everyone, I’m Shanike. I’m 24 and I’ve had Netspend for 10 years. Things were good at first. Ever since I’ve been old enough to get a decent dollar things have went FAR downhill. Anything I’m EXTREMELY dependent on that I trusted netspend with got locked away and getting a hold of a person on the phone is like pulling teeth. My account is currently locked, I’ve sent 8 emails over the last 3 days to them via the customer service email address and still no response. I’ve called over 100 times to get sent back to the beginning of the automated system or hung up on after hours of being on hold. This is absolutely horrible.

    I still haven’t received any help from anyone. This pandemic is no excuse. I managed to get a T-Mobile money rep in 30 minutes but you these guys put me on hold for a total of 25 hours. I even activated a card I had no plan to use just to get into the secure inbox section and still nothing. These guys aren’t even trying to assist me at all. I’m trying to contact help me Howard or NY1 (all the news channels) to help me reach out to them. I desperately need my money and they are so politely Ignoring me. I’m definitely considering closing these accounts. I don’t ever want to go through this ever again. With any company.

    I haven't been able to reach anyone in your customer service department for the past 3 days!!!! I've sent numerous emails and called a bunch of times to get my card unlocked!!!! They locked my account because I tried to pay a bill in full that comes out of my check every two weeks. They said it was fraud. When I called them to release the hold they said I was good to go. Then when I went to pay that bill, they locked my card, AGAIN!!!! Since then, it's been nothing but a run around... I do have bills that are due!!!! And to whomever reads this from Netspend, You have poor service and I will be taking my business needs elsewhere in the future.... YOU HAVE LOST A CUSTOMER THAT'S BEEN WITH YOU FOR OVER 7 YEARS!!!     I received a gift card and I was trying to activate, I waste a lot of time trying to speak to someone following online instructions because wasn't impossible to active online. Finally, I reach someone and they want my Social Security whole personal information, the gift card was only for 15 dollars I wasn't trying to open an account but they force you to do this otherwise if you are not giving your personal information you don't have access to the funds, Consumers Affairs should look into this, finally, I lost the 15 dollars because they charge after 60 days of inactivation 5.99 per month so I final of the day I owe them money, this company is a joke, SCAM, they are theft and DON'T BUY ANYTHING for this company you would get a rip-off.

    You have an another account opened for me that I never requested. My only account that I set up with y’all is locked for no reason. Many others have had the same thing happen to them. I’ve reached out by email, Facebook, Twitter, and attempted to call y’all. No one can get through with the automated system no matter what options we choose. My paycheck hasn’t gone into my account because of this and neither has my stimulus payment. Why can’t we reach anyone? Why did this happen? Y’all are posting on Twitter and Facebook but won’t answer us? If I had known that y’all were gonna lock my account, I would’ve used a different account for my stimulus money. I will be closing my account with y’all after I get my paycheck and stimulus money. It’s a shame because we’ve had y’all for over 4 years. You could at least address what’s going on instead of keeping ya in the dark. Very unprofessional.

    I called Netspend customer service 60 times I still could not get through. Instead I had to call Metabank to get through. Was on hold then for an hour and 20 minutes starting calling at 8 am when they opened. I think you are a fraud. My account was open. I just lost my card. Received my new card on the 15 of April. My stimulus check was supposed to go on there. Had the same account same routing info but since my new card was not active yet they sent back my stimulus check. That's not right since I had an active account.

    I am so upset. I had two transactions that an online merchant said Netspend declined and yet netspend took the funds out of my account. Spoke with netspend. Initially they told me it was a "hold" that would fall off in a few days. Then to find out it was actually paid. Spoke with customer service (who barely speak English). They told me to file a dispute. I have waited almost a month for my dispute only to be told that my dispute didn't qualify for a provisional credit under regulation E. I would love to know how not. Netspend says my next update will be 5/14. I don't plan on them giving me my money back. I guess I'm just SOL. Couldn't have happened at a worse time economically. I am reporting this to FTC.

    I filed a dispute with Netspend cause my taxes were taken off my card. I sent in proof of the conversation between me and the individual and I also sent in the police report and release for from hospital that I was admitted to during the time of my stay. They said "They found no error in the investigation" which is a lie cause if they had called and verified any documentation sent in they would know well. Yesterday I get a text my stimulus hit literally a few hours later that morning to be exact all that was taken not only that a security company keeps trying to charge me and I’ve asked netspend to remove them they didn’t do. They charged my account as well.

    This is ridiculous. If this dispute is not properly investigated as the other was not I just want the whole account canceled because netspend is not right. I never had issues with netspend until last year when they made it sooo easy for people to rip me off. It has to be somebody I can talk to about this above someone in customer service.

    I have been on hold a total of 13 hours over the past 3 days, hung up on more times than I can count. I was out shopping after finally receiving my stimulus check, which was very much needed since I was one of the ones close to a month ago to be laid off due to the pandemic. I made one purchase and used an ATM, next at Walmart where I was getting my kids Easter Stuff, I was in the check out line and they locked my account??? I stood there in line for an hour on hold just to get hung up on. So, I go home and call and after 3 more hours of hold time, they tell me I need to e-mail them certain documents to prove my identity which I did.

    A DAY later I get an e-mail saying they couldn't see the corners, so I do it again. 6 hours later I get an e-mail saying a PA DOT change of address card is not good enough for proof of address. So I e-mail them my Medicaid letter, which they told me on the phone would work. 13 hours later I get a call and they say, we have approved your documents and we will text you to let you know your account is active. Two minutes later I receive an e-mail stating they are not accepting my Medicaid letter as proof of address.

    So I email them two more proofs of address and 2 hours later they tell me the items they just told me to send are not gonna work either. Now I've been on hold for 4 more hours and hung up on 5 times waiting for them to approve my paystub and if they don't do that, they are obviously trying to steal my money or cause my family to go hungry so I will be contacting my Attorney. This is not how you run a business and definitely not the type of customer service that cares about their customers.

    Poor service. After holding for an hour & 45 minutes, the hold music went silent, no one responded but suddenly I'm back in the phone queue and at the very beginning. So I had to reenter all my information. The very next day, I held for 54 minutes, a representative answered and just kept saying hello (3 times) as if he didn't hear me saying hello right back to him, then he disconnected the call. When I did reach a representative, she was unable to help me so she was transferring me to the all-access department but instead sent me back into the phone queue and again, I had to start from the beginning. So 3 1/2 hours and 3 calls into them I still don't have my issue resolved.

    I’m contacting you regarding my IRS tax refund check. First off I seen where I can add up to 3 cards and so I tried to Add my fiancé Navina **. They told me to call them the day my refund hit my account. I called in. They told me they had to close my Acc because my fiancé couldn’t get a card. I then ask can she be remove and can I get access My funds. I’m out of work due to the virus and needed my money to pay past due bills etc. The lady said let her see a way to remove her and take the hold off my funds. I waited 2 hours on hold just for them to connect me to fraud department who then told me money will be sent to me via check in 10 days. I said ok.

    Well the tenth day I called go see what’s the hold up. They then told me they still have my check that the irs needed to verify it. I ask why because the irs sent my refund in my name. I would see if it was in my fiancé name and they held my check but the card in check from The irs is in my now. It will be 4 to 6 weeks. I feel this is not right all that’s going on and I will get higher people Involved to investigate the matter. That’s 5,400 dollars I can’t get in. It’s a world crisis. I need my money. Please release it. Then I spoke to irs and they said the refund went to my account and is it out of their hands. That is my card holder. I need answers.

    Two weeks ago I was in the process of purchasing an Item; I had $258 on my Netspend card. Unfortunately I waited over an hour between the check cashing clerk and the Netspend customer service; waited over 35 minutes to get an available Netspend customer service on the phone, when he got to talk to me, he couldn't figure why I couldn't retrieve my money out; he mentioned "You can only take money out of your account only by going to the bank": Mind you, I've been dealing with prepaid cards for the longest; I always do all my transactions with the same check cash where I purchase the card from.

    Make a long story short by the check cashing clerk entering a much lower amount of what was shown available on my account, the transaction was successful. In the mean time Netspend charged me for every failed attempt due to their mistake. No apologies whatsoever from customer service or offering to reimburse me for all the unnecessary extra charges, and my day could not get any worse when the seller had sold the item I wanted so bad to the 1st come first serve buyer, thanks for you great customer service Netspend.     I am a longtime customer of Netspend. But this week the day before my direct deposit, someone was able to charge 178.00 in fuel at a 7-11 in 2 separate charges WITHOUT MY CARD BEING PRESENT. I only had 56.00 in my account. After 40.00 in overdraft fees my account was 152.00 overdrawn. In the middle of a pandemic. I called customer service and explained the issue. I was told that they would dispute the charges as soon as it actually posted to my account, at this point it was authorization like when you use your card at the pump.

    I explained that I had my card and it had not been used in another town and certainly not for 178.00 in gas. My car holds 15.00 tops. Then the CSR tells me that it will take 45 - 90 to get the dispute settled and if it was in my favor the 56.00 would be credited. What does that mean? 3 months? I need my money now. And if I hadn't been able to stop my direct deposit I would be out 178.00 plus the 40.00 in fees that they would perhaps permanently. It has been such a hassle getting a paper check and having to go out to cash it. I buy groceries online for delivery so I don't get sick.

    I explained all this in numerous phone calls. I have the all access card that states 0 liability. The charge should have never been authorized without the card being present in the first place. I am thankful they were only able to steal 56.00 from me. Netspend has a fee for everything. They fee you to death but it's such a hassle to change over all my ACH payments I was willing to pay them. Until they suddenly became shady. Beware of losing your money to this company.

    I do understand that this is a hard time for EVERYONE, but I start by saying that I am dissatisfied with how my grocery pickup orders were handled by Netspend, Kroger. I did an online order for food, and my total was 237+, end result the end total completed at 86+. This original purchase was on March 26th, and it is now April 3rd and Netspend will not release my funds. They clearly are preauthorizations that are now over 7 days old. I have called and waited on hold each day before work, and either they secretly transfer you back to the main menu or tell you to call the merchant. I have also sat on hold in EXCESS of 2 hours for Kroger who verifies the funds were released days ago, and they have faxed netspend. I now have to get up again in the morning 2.5 hours earlier than my shift just to call them again. As soon as I'm able to I will be using another company.

    I've been having issues. Two weeks ago, somebody hit my card and they haven't put the money back or anything like that. However, I can’t get ahold of anybody. I guess due to this Coronavirus, their times have changed. Also, they told me about the All-Access card. The only thing I didn’t like about it was that it's white. It doesn’t have a name. No nothing. Other than that, they’re good. We use the reload locations every now and then. Doing a direct deposit is very easy.     I purchased a NetSpend card for my daughter in the amount of 30.00 so she can purchase something online. She's 15. Anyway they require that the card be activated to use for a purchase. I had to provide my social security number. Once I given my info they stated I already had an account and it had a hold. I asked for a supervisor to see if the issue could be resolve.     I originally called about this issue a year ago & was told the account was updated. Now that I'm applying for my loan I am finding out I was lied to. Not only was the account not updated but each representative gives you a different response. I'm in the middle of confirming information for my home loan. I am the 2nd card holder on an account but I'm also the only active card on the account. My simple request was to have an email sent that states that I am a 2nd card holder on the account. Some reps say they cant but all change their mind when you ask for a supervisor and tell me the issue was resolved. They sent the email I need but they haven't. A supervisor tells me there is no one else to file a complaint to. This is ridiculous and will cause me to lose my home loan.

    Due to the nature of my business and work, I live most of the time in Europe. From here, no matter what browser I use, I can not access any of the Netspend pages in order to keep up with my account balance and activity. Therefore the only way I can keep in touch with my account is to call them for any matters I occurred, calls which from here are costly. And the problems I face trying to use the card from here, on the spot or even on the line, are so frequent as like on regular basis. To try to avoid my card to be blocked by their security system any time I plan to physically use the card I call them in advance to authorise any purchases I may use the card for. Even so, it happened several times being travelling abroad my card to be blocked and my business or vacation to be ruined. These are my major problems among many other disappointments I have since I hold this debit card.

    This company is fraudulent. Somehow they were able to "obtain public information" of my 12yo son and send him a "prepaid" debit card completely unsolicited because, you know, he's 12 years old and not in a legal position to enter into contracts. I called to inform the company and met with complete apathy from the Philippines call center. This type of business practice puts people at risk for identity theft and it's obviously illegal. I have reported this company to the better business bureau for this egregious business practice.

    Four (4) separate, unauthorized charges were made on one of my NetSpend cards totaling $493.07. These were charges that a decent fraud prevention program should have caught. I called NetSpend and reported this incident and I was told it would take a minimum of 10 business days to investigate and could take up to 45 days. I proved I was the authorized owner of this account with a long, positive history with NetSpend and didn't authorize these charges. I was told that didn't matter. I would still have to wait for what could be 45 days for a resolution. I bank with several banks and understand the zero liability VISA guidelines. They all assure me they will restore me back to my original condition in a couple of days. This has only happened to me one other time and Bank of America gave me my money back immediately. I'm pretty sure NetSpend is not a viable alternative banking option going forward.

    I purchased a Western Union- Netspend Card, and it has been nothing but a disaster. On the back of the card before, I purchased it, I ensured that since I am not an American citizen, that a foreign national could use it. The card clearly states "for U.S. citizens provide a social security card, and for foreign nationals, provide your foreign identification." The company has done nothing but give me the runaround and consistently ask for a social security number although I provided them with my foreign identification. The company is clearly providing false advertisements. I really had hoped to work with them.

    I travel a lot and I know that I have had a great experience with Western Union. I had hoped that this company would have been a great opportunity to secure my money, will I travel. Remove the statement on the back of the card, if you will not utilize foreign identification, in lieu of the SSN. Social Security numbers are only provided in the United States. If you accept a passport, then you should know that the individual is not from the United States, and would not have an American Social Security number. This is ridiculous!!!!

    Reloading my NetSpend costs me $3.74 at Walmart and it's simple to do. However, NetSpend should let their customers know when they change banks. They changed banks and I was not notified. I filled out my taxes and I had the wrong account number and routing number. So, I don’t know if my taxes are going on to my account or not. I talked to Netspend's team and they told me that it would still go on my card. It hasn't yet. I’m taking their word that it’ll go in there but if the numbers don’t match up, it ain’t going in.

The operater was very helpful in processing the payment and taking off account block.     This place has reAlly upset me, I just started up with them, I was getting all this stuff in my online account about you been approved to upgrade your account to all access, well after they sent me a new card to get started, I could not activate my new card so after calling a few times they told me since I had a filed a dispute I had to wait. I called again to cancel this dispute since I resolved it with the company. One of Netspend's rep said ok they would cancel. Now the next day someone from netspend calls saying I can't cancel the dispute and had to wait until March 17 for a update, like all this is just not right that they can't cancel this dispute putting me on hold to upgrade my account. Am very upset and wasted like all this time fighting with them. Don't know why they just don't cancel the dispute I asked them to, just not right...

    I called this morning and talked to a representative to ask if my tax refund would be rejected since it is over 7500. The questions I asked her it seem to me she didnt know the answers. Seems like the representative is researching the answer herself because she kept putting me on hold. She seemed unsure in her answer. She even asked where is my tax refund coming from? How can I get a reliable answer and fix a potential problem when the representatives arent even sure with their answers?

    I had nothing but problems with regular banks and gave up on the idea of having an account when I found Netspend, I was surprised by their service and happy to have them up until last year. I was paying an RV dealer towards a down payment when I decided not to purchase a trailer after all. I was told that my money would be held until I picked another trailer to purchase. When I stated that I did NOT want another trailer, that I didn't want any at all, I was told that the receipts for my payments show that the money is non-refundable. While that was true, I didn't sign any agreement with them, not even those receipts. How can any company decide your money is not refundable without you giving the okay with your signature?

    So I contacted Netspend. It took months for them to get back to me with a verdict, but they told me I would have to prove that I didn't authorize the payment for them to get my money back. How exactly does one prove that? And technically while they had my card info, I told them not to make the withdrawal at that time, but again, how does one prove they didn't verbally agree to something? Basically, Netspend refused to help me by setting the bar higher than I could reach and I lost all of that money. I've learned my lesson. Don't do anything major through your Netspend account or it could blow up in your face. Also, I've asked Netspend for a letter stating my name and account number (because I had to provide that last year) and they told me they never do that. So like it or not, I was forced to open an account with a bank. If not for those two issues, I would have thought Netspend was perfect. I'm really disappointed now.

    I've been with Netspend when it first came out. It's very easy to use and you can load your money locally. So far, I've depended on that part of it. I just recently had a problem with it though and that was the only issue I've ever had with it. The person who took the statement took it wrong and said that I had agreed to the transaction and I had not. I had agreed to make the transaction. However, I did not know that the information that was coming out from the other end was false information. So, they did honor, went ahead and put the money on my card, but then they turned around when they investigated. For some reason, they thought I was okay with the transaction that they took it back off. So now, it's at negative $70. They said they're leaving it as it is and I don't see why.

    I had ordered a drum set at Christmas time for my granddaughter. And the people that gave me the information through Amazon, gave me an email address and the number for the transaction, and all of it was fraud. I couldn't reach the person. They couldn't apparently reach the person, but I got something saying that they had reached the person and they were gonna either honor by sending the money back or honor it by sending the drum set back to me, and they did neither. And so, Netspend took the money. They put a thing to get the money back and I don't have it right now to put back. But I'm still very confident with Netspend other than this last issue. It also prompted me to get another card through Varo and I do have that to use. I've used it once already, but I don't feel as confident because I've been with Netspend for such a long time. So, I just go with Netspend.

    I got NetSpend about five years ago and I like that it wasn’t a credit card. I can pay my bills on it and I can add and load money on there as well. My husband was working job to job and we know if we were to open a bank account, it wouldn’t fit for us. So, NetSpend was the best option at the time. I'm saving. I load money on it and I just keep adding to it. There isn’t a lot of reload locations though. And also, when we go to the ATM, we have to pay $3 to $4 even paying the monthly fee for us to not be charged. But it still charges us $4 to $5 on the ATM when we try to pull money out. I’ve tried specific locations that you can use free and they still charge us. Other than that, NetSpend's reps are always great. I’ve told others to get the card because it is a really great card, and it’s easy to use.

    My wife made a $25.00 donation to a Presidential campaign recently-the entity collecting the donations for the campaign proceeded over the next two days to take out 5 more $25.00 transactions totaling $125.00. I called Netspend and reported this incident and I was told it would take a minimum of 10 business days to investigate and could take up to 45 days-even though I told them it was not an authorized transaction by me-and I have to wait until they even approve me for a provisional credit-these transactions were not authorized by me-what needs to be investigated? Bank of America gives you your money back right away-why can't Netspend?

    I have NetSpend account. The very first time I used direct deposit was great. I got it two days earlier than I got paid. But that followed Friday someone withdrawal over 200 dollars from my account from an atm in another city 3 hrs away while I have my card in my possession. How does that even happen? I just made the account, only used it when got paid and in 2 days my account has been hacked. And was told to wait 45 days to determine an investigation when I did everything they ask within the same day I made my claim and police report and sent documents to the email suggested within 2 days. I did wait or anything and still haven't received my money. NetSpend is a fraud. Please shut this system down.

    My experience was the worst. First they sent me a card that still belonged to someone else, then that person took money from my account once my paycheck was put on the card. They accredited me the money that was taken, then the same person took more money from me, I made an report about it and now they’ve been investigating since Jan 9th on some ** that they can easily fix and that was basically their wrong doing. Now I have to wait and have been waiting for them to give me MY MONEY back that was stolen because they decided to send me a card that was still being used by someone else.     I've been a Netspend user for 3 years. They have just left me stranded in Thailand with no access to my money. I forgot password of online account, tried a couple times, then reset password. Then went to log in and a message popup saying my account is temporarily suspended. Then tried to pay for a hotel with card and it wouldn't accept it. Never got an email why, and when I asked, nothing, just call us. Can't call toll free numbers on international roaming, been begging them through email to please call me. The emails are canned responses, basically **. As far as I'm concerned they had no logical reason to deactivate my card. And at a minimum could have been more helpful after I explained my dire situation. Customer service with Netspend has always been a rustle, it's like a 3 on a scale of 1-10, now it's a zero to me.

    I had Direct Express and I didn't like it but I’ve had Netspend for about six years now. I like that I get all my bills paid through my phone once my direct deposit arrives as well as getting my withdrawals. But I’m not happy with it. When I get my direct deposit from Netspend at the beginning of the month, $5 comes off my card and in the middle of the month, another $5 comes off. Then, I'm $3 in the hole. It’s a no-win situation just like with the Spectrum Mobile. I canceled their ability to take money off my card of $51 and then, Netspend and I did a dispute. The following month, they allowed Spectrum Mobile take the $51 back off my card again. Other than that, I'm satisfied with Netspend.

    Got two prepaid visa cards as a Christmas present, tried to use them for a lunch out with the wife after an hour of futzing around. I used my bank card to pay, as got no help registering the cards. I tried over several weeks to do online, on phone, but kept getting cut off hung up on or ignored. Not sure which. Spent last several hours today and I mean hours trying to get it taken care of so I could use them for my wife's birthday. After 8 or 9 tries both via computer and phone finally got two competent people to get them done one at a time, apparently they can't do two at a time. I would never want to go thru the aggravation again esp. since the cards only had 50 dollars each on them, I make more an hour so I lost money doing this.

I only get disability once a month. So, I have to stretch my money. Just recently, GEICO took money off my Netspend card and they weren’t supposed to, which left me with $12. Netspend was gonna try to get me a credit back on that but we got cut off. When you’re talking with a representative, the phone call gets cut off a lot of times. It was frustrating for me. So, they sent me a letter. I was supposed to have some sort of in writing about what GEICO did to me. I was supposed to send it to Austin, Texas but I didn’t know all of that until after the fact. So, I was not able to get my credit. I had to borrow money from one of my girlfriends to get me through till my next payday. So, I wasn’t very happy. But it wasn’t anybody’s fault. It’s just how it happened.

    I've had NetSpend for years. They have no overdraft fees, which was why I chose them. With it, I pay more attention and try not to go over. Every now and then I do but I don't get eaten up like with a regular bank, which kills you with fees. Banks have a fee for everything. You get a paper statement, you get a fee. Then they'll put you over and charge you 40 bucks. And I can't do that. I use the alert feature. Every time my cards are used, I know it. It has been taken a couple of times and the alert feature is how I've kept somebody from taking my money.

I had an Anytime Alert first thing Sunday morning and I said, “I’ve already been debited that.” I was able to go online and look and see, and it showed two pending transactions for the same item.     My credit is so messed up so I can't get an actual credit card now, and all I have is prepaid. The only problem with NetSpend is that sometimes when I'm about to check into a hotel, I can't because they don't accept prepaid. It has left me stranded a lot of times because that's the only card I have. I've had the NetSpend Premier card for two years now, and that's the only card I can use Uber with. I do utilize the transfer alerts. It's just annoying because I don't have the account online. I used to have it, but I forget the password, and I hate making a new one. And every time you call to transfer funds is $5 and I don't wanna pay that. Some of the people who work for NetSpend have been okay. Either they will give you a pass or they will waive the $5 fee, which is really good. I just needed some kind of protection if I use my card in another country that I'm safe.

    The fees are away my daughters card before she activated it. She received a card as a gift for her birthday but due to the need to call to activate had not used it. The expiration date was in 2021, but they said it actually expired 120 days after purchase and that the $9.95/ mo fee had used the balance anyway. Nowhere on the card does it mention a time limit to activate or the monthly fee, so just be careful. If you don’t want to waste your money (or make little girls cry because their birthday gift is worthless), I’d advise you to NOT buy Netspend cards as a gift.

    I recently purchased the NETSPEND Visa Debit Card as a Christmas Gift for my 17 year old son so he could use it to put gas in his truck. When trying to activate the card online at the very end and after entering all the info required for activation it says "MUST BE 18 years old to use the card". Nowhere previous did it say you had to be over 18 years old. SO I thought well I am over 18 years old why don't I set it up in my name and I will use the card myself and figure out something else for my son (as I have 400 dollars on the card prepaid).

    I went thru all the setup and it said call customer service. I called customer service and after a 15 -20 min wait a gentlemen came on the phone (who I could barely understand) and I explained to him, "My son being 17 cannot use the card so can you set me up on it.." He asked me a lot of security questions Social Security card info etc to verify security then he said I can't activate the card or transfer to different user. I said, "Can you explain why not," and he couldn't... and when I asked to speak to a supervisor he put me on eternal hold and no one ever came back on the line to explain why I can't assume or be set up on the card as per their own online system and the representative I talked to the card wasn't set up to begin with!

    I have had many Netspend cards. Last year was my 1st year getting a card for my income taxes. I was wondering why I had a $1.00 fee for every transaction, so I called in and was informed that I had unlimited card purchases with no fees and was refunded my money.     So I called in and was told there is no such thing and “ WE HAVE NO REASON TO LIE ON YOU”. Ummm excuse me? Who said that I thought that you people were lying on me? So I request a supervisor and was placed on hold for a substantial amount of time and then the rep comes back saying it may take a little time to get them on the line then goes on rambling about, "We are issued sanctions for lying and blah, blah, blah.." Seems like you feel a little guilty? So I was placed back on hold only to get a “ PLEASE ENTER YOUR CARD NUMBER RECORDING”. Really? RIDICULOUS!!!! I will be calling back in AGENT **!     My experience with Netspend is great. I like that it's easy and efficient. If I have an issue, I'd call the staff. The staff handles it with expertise. They do more than my bank does. Their customer service is definitely spot on as well. I had a couple of issues where some charges were made on my account and they handled it. They had it over and done where it would've taken a bank at least three days to a week. They handled it right then and there, checked it out and made sure it was fraudulent.

    They're just fast. At work, normally if I didn't have direct deposit, I get the check on Friday, then have to drive all the way to Walmart or Fred Meyer's and cash the check. And then drive all the way back to my bank, move money back on my debit card, and it's just so much easier just to have this extra check that I get, just pop it on that one, and I can take care of all my bills. A person is a fool if they don't have Netspend. You can't beat them and they're not out to scam your money. They take care of their customers like you're family, and that's what a bank is all about.     We have had our Netspend account for at least 10 years and have never had a problem with it- we enjoy many of the benefits including early access to direct deposit. Any time we have called customer service- a rare occurrence since we have had not had any problems, they were polite and took care of the issue- the issue was due to unauthorized use of our card. We will not be leaving Netspend any time soon. The only negative we have is that we cannot get a card with individual names on them for one account- I would like to have a card with my name and another with my wife's name.

    When my wife died, I wanted to string NetSpend up. The government sent her check into her NetSpend but then they decided to take it back out. I also had no idea why NetSpend also tied up a little over half my check and I couldn't get it back. It took me almost 30 days before I got that money back. NetSpend kept saying that it was automatic and that there was nothing they could do about that as it was the way their system is set up. Other than this issue, I've been well-pleased with them.     Honestly one of the worst prepaid card I've ever used in my life. I accidentally put in the wrong ssn as it REGISTERED it and decided to lock me out of my account.     This company just told me that a third party company, which they do not have any information about regarding the company, claims the prepaid card I bought at a gas station needs to be verified prior to me using the prepaid card. She was unable to provide any information regarding the third party company that supposedly has my ID number, Social Security number, birth date and address and the information I provided does not match correctly with the information that this third-party company has given to them.

    I then requested to speak with a supervisor who didn't mention anything about this third party company. Instead she proceeded to tell me she can activate the card if I do not wish to provide any personal information which I already had at that point however if I have her activate the card without providing information then I can only use the card in store. OR If I provide all the information there's a possibility I will need to be re-verified so then I tell her to just go along with that process and see what happens and of course I had to be re-verified.

    They requested I send in the copy of my driver's license, a copy of my Social Security and my proof of address. They kept reiterating the same garbage over and over again calling themselves a financial institution when in reality I purchased a prepaid gift card from a gas station and loaded $50 cash onto this card in order to use it for a hotel room that I never got. So not only did I have to sleep in my car but I still can't use the prepaid card and on top of all this a third party whom I am not allowed to know any information about has my personal information linked to a pre paid card I used cash to purchase at a corner store with no ID, no social security number, and no idea how much regret this purchase would end up costing me. Please escalate my complaint or I will be talking to a lawyer.

    So much like MANY of the other people on here, since upgrading to all access I’ve not gotten ANY DEPOSITS. I used to get paid at the same time like clockwork, now I’ve had two deposits rejected. Well now it’s finally been processed... payday came and went. Netspend has NO PENDING DEPOSITS on new account or old closed prepaid acct. My Government employer has sent the money, but Netspend has no idea where it’s at. This is absolutely ridiculous. Do not upgrade to all access! Stick to the regular prepaid or go with someone else.     I manage my money with Netspend and I know how much I got. I get text alerts on my phone and I watch my spending because of that. I like it. Also, I can load the card at my grocery store, it’s around the corner. The money takes some time to post, three to five minutes. Also, I get my direct deposit two days earlier than my other co-workers. I like the cashback points too. Once you deposit more money, you earn money back. I don’t like that it doesn’t have a chip in it. That’s the only downfall, which I can deal with, but it would be nice if it did.

    Update on 01/16/2020: Someone from the company contacted me and got me to the place where I could actually use the card. The rep said she would also restore any fees that had been charged against the card (non-usage fees). Really? However and unfortunately, when I used the card, $2.00 had been deducted from the $25 gift card. I don't get it. No matter, I am done with Netspend. I also told the person who bought it so they will be aware.

    Original Review: I received this card as a gift in September 2019. I have YET to be able to use it. I have CALLED and CALLED, selecting from the MANY automated voice options TRYING to reach a LIVE being. It took me at least ten tries to finally get to a customer rep. Unfortunately, after talking to the rep for far too long, my issue was still not resolved. I was told that the card was activated and that I would receive an email. After giving the rep my email address, I asked her to repeat it back to me (so I would have a better chance of actually receiving the info). Instead of repeating it back to me, she DISCONNECTED the call. It was definitely on purposed...but why?! All the trouble it takes to get ANY assistance and still no resolution tells me that they are set up to scam people of their money. People will give up the fight and not use the cards, thus, leaving the money in Netspend's account. I do not think the positive reviews on this site are authentic or credible.

    Part of wanting to get Netspend was the convenience of it. I got a couple of them. I have an ACE Flare account that I’m using. On that account, I have my social security check direct deposit and it just makes it easier. I have another card, Green Dot, and that’s where my paycheck goes. I try to keep the two cards separate. The only problem with Netspend is their reps are average. I haven’t called them lately because of that. They don’t really want to talk to you. They would tell me that I can do something online, but I'd tell them that I’d prefer not to do banking business online especially when I have questions about different deals on the card, because they won’t answer you. I’ve emailed them and they will not answer in a timely fashion. They would answer two weeks later, but I'd like answers when I need them.

    But they're not the only ones who are like that. Most of these prepaid deals like this are close to the same such as Green Dot one. They don’t answer their phone a lot of times and you get a recording. But I still use these cards because I prefer to do it that way rather than going with the bank because they’re always putting fees and stuff like that. Banks also hold your direct deposits for five days. Netspend and Green Dot do not. The thing with them, though, is they advertise it as you get your payments two days early, but I don’t. Other than that, Netspend has been going good for me.

Upon trying to activate card they informed me I could not get an account saying i had a negative balance (which has to be fraudulent) even though you cant have negative balance with prepaid....they said a refund check was issued..Im on my 3rd issuance of this check because it was never received.     Updated on 01/07/2020: I received my I access card speaks days ago. I was unable to activate it online. I've been on the phone with NetSpend for it today makes 6 days. I've open and close a claim on my account. I have not been able to load my all access online or anything. I loaded $20 on this card and 6 days later I'm still not able to use. Corporate reached out to me. Said they were going to solve it. I've called them seven times and they don't even answer the phone. All the representatives I talk to are lost and unable to help me so my money is just floating around in the air. I have been not able to put gas in my own car thanks to these people. I will continue to escalate my claims and go as far as I have to go because it's going on a week and I haven't seen my money and nobody is able to help.

    I have had a prepaid NetSpend and Skylight One Direct Deposit Card for 2 years. Today, I left home and swung by McDonalds and then went to buy craft supplies and my card kept declining. I called and tried to access with my social security number-not found and neither was card number. I used card often over the holidays with Amazon but never had a problem. When I finally reached rude rep and supervisor was told that I am a high fraud risk...really??? I work for the government, have a background check and used cards over 2 years, then was told they were mailing me the balance on my card and I can never have a NetSpend card again. Mad but not crying over the loss. The lady at Joann's Craft Store was astonished with me and said she wouldn't want their cards. Me neither.

    Updated on 01/03/2020: Today on Jan 3rd, someone from Corporate called me. I explained my frustration with everything regarding this issue. She said she would investigate and let me know what she learned about this. Not 10 minutes after we ended the call, FedEx (not UPS) delivered a package that contained my new card. Yay! Having said that, however, there is still the issue of the extremely long wait(s) and the lack of information provided by the customer service reps. Perhaps some additional training or more access to information would be helpful to the customer service reps and the customers. As far as I'm concerned, this matter is resolved. I’m still going to give this business a 1-star rating due to the poor customer service and long time(s) spent on hold.

    Original Review: On December 22nd I received an email that someone had tried to use my card # without my authorization. My account was blocked. I called Netspend to get another card. I was told it would take 3 days and would be delivered via UPS on December 25. No card. I called AGAIN on the 26th. I was told it would be delivered via UPS on the 27th. No card. I called again and was told it would be delivered on the 30th. No card. I called again on the 30th and spent 2 1/2 hours waiting to speak to a supervisor. Finally, someone (perhaps not a supervisor) said my card would be delivered on Jan 1. Here it is on Jan 2nd and still no card. I called UPS to confirm delivery or that they have the package en route. They had no record of any scheduled delivery. I called Netspend again.

    The customer service rep I just spoke with said it would take 7-10 business days to get my card delivered via United States Postal Service. WHAT?? I asked to speak with a supervisor and have been on this call for over an hour to get answers. If it was only a $2-3 balance, I would tell them to take a long walk on short pier; however, I have a substantial balance and can't afford to do that. After one hour and 20 minutes, I spoke with a supervisor who, again, put me on hold. After a 7-minute wait, she explained that they could transfer my balance to a friend or family member’s Netspend card. Well, I have no idea what cards my friends and family have, as that’s not something we discuss in polite company. Also, she said they might be able to send my money via MoneyGram.

    Yes, do that, please. And, she put me on hold yet AGAIN!! I have been on this call for over one hour and 34 minutes!! I was put on hold by the SUPERVISOR for over 30 minutes and was bumped back into the queue. I spoke with another customer service rep and put on hold again. I’m at 2 hours and 6 minutes on this call waiting and waiting and waiting… 2 hours and 25 minutes into the call and the supervisor returns to the phone and put me on hold AGAIN at 2 hours and 28 minutes. 2 hours and 46 minutes and I was bumped into the queue again. I hung up. At this point, I don't know if I will continue with Netspend. I certainly don't recommend this business or product to anyone else. If there was a zero-star rating, I would have used it instead of giving them a 1-star rating.

    I think NetSpend is fantastic. I've never had any problem with calling them and everyone that I've spoken with has been very receptive to my calls. One of the things which I really appreciate is the fact that I have a direct deposit from Social Security and that’s supposed to be the second Wednesday of every month. However, invariably, I receive that direct payment the Friday before the second Wednesday. I appreciate very much having that money deposited into my account and being able to have its utilization for the weekend preceding the second Wednesday of every month. Another thing I appreciate is that after I spend some money when I go to a store or restaurant and I use my card, within seconds I’ll know because it comes in over my cellphone how much I was charged and what my running balance is.     My mom bought this card and loaded $500 for myself and my daughter for Christmas....little did I know it was the act of congress to get this card activated. Starting on Thursday 12/26 I have been left on hold so many times and no help also. I told them on Monday that I had misplaced my SS card during my move. At no point when I told them this and told them I was going to get a replacement did they say I had to have the actual SS card.... I sent what they gave me 3 different times. i have been placed on hold so long it sends me back thru the auto system to activate the card over and over again.

    I have talked to countless people over these days all of which telling me something different. So after hours and hours on the phone and back and forth I still am getting that yes they can help me by setting the card as to in store purchases only however that doesnt help me. Oh and they can send a check in the mail. I have never in my entire life had this much issues activating a PRE PAY CARD!!!! They act like this is a $10000 credit limit or something. This is MY MONEY THAT I WANT TO SPEND HOWEVER I WANT TO!!! I have asked to talk to someone from corp office and was instructed that could possibly happen in 1 to 2 business days????

    I was given a NetSpend card back in July that show an expiration date of 11/20. After several recent attempts at trying to use it, I was told by netSpend that the card is expired. I was told that I only had 120 days after activation to use the card and that the "Good Thru" date of 11/20 refers to the shelf life of the card. There is no notification anywhere on the card that refers to the 120 days after activation.

    My daughter received a $50 gift card. We've been trying to activate it and they're telling us it expired after 120 days even though the exp date on the card is 2021. Apparently it takes an act of God to get customer service to answer the phone or help. Then they wanted her social security number etc. Unreal. Have never needed to provide this to activate a gift card. Been on hold with customer service for 35 minutes. Asked for a manager...on hold more and now they appear to have hung up. Well I just found out that my child support payments went to this old account.     I've been with Netspend for quite sometime now. I've never had an issue until the night if Dec 11, 2019. My account was drained of $2003.40 from across country. I live in Florida and physically had my card on my person. The transaction happened in California. I did not receive a text message with the transaction (as per the netspend alerts that I get with all transactions). When I tried to pay a bill online that night and my card was declined, I called the customer service number. I was asked to input my card number and PIN. My PIN was rejected. When I finally got ahold of someone who could provide me with some sort of guidance, they told me to send an email to disputedocuments@netspend.com. I did and supplied all the information I was told to provide and I sent a few more emails with supporting facts and photos. I was told my next update would be Dec 26th.

    I've called a few times to check the status of this investigation and there is no info available. Nobody will communicate anything to me other than "the next update will be on Dec 26th". I've read the terms and conditions numerous times and know that I've followed the protocol to the letter, and I should have a professional credit for the $2003.40 in my account by December 26th. However, I've been reading other people's experiences and even news articles about how deceptive the practices are that netspend provides with services and disputes. I am concerned that my hard earned money is gone forever. Please be aware of that FDIC banks will practically immediately credit accounts with monies that are stolen. It's been almost 2 weeks now with netspend and not a word from them. However, they did deduct the $5.00 maintenance fee after my disputed transaction.

    I got a text message on my phone saying my account was frozen and I needed to call so I call Netspend and my email had been changed my pin was changed and all my passwords so I told them I did not authorize anything. They assured me everything would be fine. Switch all my info back and even setup a security question so if anyone calls in and tries to change anything they have to answer the question. Well again my info all changed. It seemed like within minutes of hanging up with the Netspend agent so I call two more times and both times and they NEVER ask the security questions so that was a HUGE RED FLAG. I went took out all my money and then called and closed the account. This company is not to be trusted. Please keep your money and use a real bank or no bank. They Don't do the job they are supposed to be doing.

    On Dec 19 my account and card were closed down because of someone reporting my card lost or stolen. I called and paid money to have new card sent overnight. On Dec 20 I get a text that the 559.82 I had has been transferred to a different card in my name. When I called it was done in Texas. I live in IL. There is a Family Dollar in Midland TX that sells prepaid cards and then they hack accounts and steal money. Now Netspend has closed my account and my pension check the first will be sent back. It will take 10 days for them to investigate the fraud and send a check if they decide I am a victim of identity theft. My pension check will be a mess. I have no way to pay my bills. This has been a frequent thing at this same store with netspend cards.

    Now I suffer because of a damn theif. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and the Attorney General of Texas. Good thing I keep text messages. They made it so I can no longer access the transactions on my old account. I can never have a netspend account again which is fine. I will be calling the Midland Texas PD to see if they will view the cameras at Family Dollar. Others are doing the same. I think netspend has some shady employees. I called their fraud department and now I wait for a paper check if they decide to send it at all. I will be on the phone daily until I get my money. Randel **

    SCAM - $1,000 Wal-Mart gift card giveaway. I am usually more aware of these types of scams, but I literally did fill out a survey from a Wal-Mart receipt (could not remember the details) - and truly thought I had won something. LMAO. Needless to say, this was just a format in-which NetSpend, in my opinion, sends out scam/spam emails/texts to consumers just to get them to open up an account with their company. This is extremely deceitful and a poor way of doing business. I immediately called and canceled this account, but now my information is out there, and I am already getting calls from other companies where they sell my information. What a disgusting way of doing business.

    I use the anytime alerts and I get direct deposit every month. The account transfers really don’t work through other cards or banks. But I can’t use any regular bank right now so that really doesn’t apply to me and neither does the cashback, so I get none of the perks, unfortunately. I've talked to their reps over the phone and they were okay. It’s a lot of foreigners, so sometimes there's a language barrier being with the rep, but eventually, it gets done.

I count on my paycheck every week and even though I get paid early I depend on it the same day. I was happy at first with the consistency but now am hurt.     My SSI deposit was posted in my account on Friday at 4:39pm then within about 20 minutes of deposit I get a notification that my card was reported stolen but I did not report it stolen. So I'm calling Netspend to find out why it was reported stolen when I didn't report it. As I'm on the phone I get another notification saying 1045.35 was transferred to a an account that was in my name but I did not open another account and I did not transfer the money transfer the money so when I was finally able to talk to someone they kept saying I opened that account that day. I told them I did not open another account. They kept telling me I did. I asked for info on the account they said I opened that day. They would not give me the info because I couldn't answer their questions and I asked them, "You let someone steal my money and you won't give me the info to give to the police." They said they couldn't.

    I did make a police report that night. It took me calling 14 times to file the dispute and finally get info to give to the police and I was told to send a email with a letter stating I didn't authorized they transfer and when I asked them how was they able to open an account without showing an ID they said the account was opened with my social security number and then the person called in and made the transfer it did. The representative Cod ** told me that most likely I will not get my money back because it was a an account to an account transfer in my name but again I did not open this new account. They need to start making people show ideas like I did when I opened my actual account and then when I asked to speak to a supervisor I was not able to speak to a supervisor and when I asked them if they could pull the recording from when whoever called to transfer the money out of my account all they could tell me is that there is a recording.

    So I asked if I could speak to the investigative team because I need them to pull that recording and pull the recording of the phone called that I have talked to them to prove that it was not me that did the transfer so I can get my $1,045.35 back. I still haven't received an email from them. I'm a little disappointed because I've been with NetSpend for like three or four years and I've never really had an issue with them up until now and I need help getting my money back.

    I can not believe the hoops I have had to jump through just to get to my funds. My account got hacked into somehow and I had to fight the charges and lock it down and order a new card. Waited for my new card to arrive and could not activate it! I called Netspend and the customer service is horrible! I kept being told I was being transferred and I would wait and wait and nothing not even waiting music but! I kept calling back.

    Eventually I was transferred to the fraud department and they could not verify my account because my phone number didn’t have my name on the account! My father pays for my phone bill. Well okay come to find out there is another way to verify your account...sending in photos of your social security card, ID proof of address blah blah. So I send them photos of all of this and then some through email and they still couldn’t verify it was me! How can you not verify a state issued ID and my government social security card? What is going on? Are they trying to keep me from getting to my money? I demand access to my account immediately!

    I went with NetSpend out of convenience, and it's easy to access and acquire. I have the app and I track my money better since we're able to go and review purchases and other transactions over the phone. We have been using it for about 6 months now and if there's anything I dislike, it's the charge every time I use it. Sometimes it comes from NetSpend or the parent company, but it always comes from the vendors that we do business with, actually my company. It's at least $1 per transaction and if I would add the dollars, then it feels burdensome a little bit. Other than that, the reload locations are everywhere.

    I have been looking for an "OPT-OUT" on Netspend's site and even went through their FAQ's and surprised to see my issue not listed there when a google search of Netspend Real Actual Unsolicited Debit Card brings of several others looking to stop this unsafe practice. I have no need for this as I have several bank and credit unions already and a credit score well over 800. That becomes at risk if someone steals our identity and by sending out these Actual Mastercard Debits is just an open invitation for Identity thieves. Yes, I realize that it still has to be "Activated" but prof scammers seem to get by these safeguards every minute of every day. Please provide an "OPT-OUT" Link on your website. Thank You.

    I had used the National Education Association preferred Prepaid Debit Card by Netspend for years, and earlier this year, all of a sudden, my card was frozen by NETSPEND, I had no access to the money on my prepaid card, and that was all the money I had to my name. It was awful. I called Netspend, and I was told, my account was closed and a refund check would be mailed to me, no explanation was given, and Netspend would not provide me with explanation after I spent 7 hours on the phone, and sent 6 emails, that's Horrible and abuse of service. DO NOT USE NETSPEND, USE GREEN DOT!!!! NETSPEND SEEMS TO DO WHAT THEY WANT WITHOUT ANY EXPLANATION!

    I have 2 Netspend cards from 2 different years. I wanted to see what the balance was on 1 of my cards so I did the prompt on the phone. It asks you all the information that you need to be able to access a card and more, when it got to my address it then will send you to a person to talk to even though the address is correct. The person asks again for you to identify your social, when you purchase the card, the address that's on the card, more info to a complete stranger than my bank makes me say in the same circumstance.

    I tell him I don't remember when I purchased the card and that I have 2 cards also with 2 different addresses. Even though everything else I know he denies me access and says he needs to send me to voice automated prompt again, where I just came from. It's a never ending loop and I will never have access to my money cause they put a hold on my card. They stole my money, that's the way I see things and I can't close the account. I regret getting the card and would encourage anyone to stay far away from this company. This company reminds me of the movie Idiocracy, the person I spoke with was just like a dumb robot.

I work for a Fortune 500 company so there is no way you can tell me my deposit is late on my employer's side especially when others have gotten their pay from my employer..     I've had my Netspend card for years and I like it. I can use it if I shop online and I load money on it to pay bills and buy stuff.     I use Netspend around three times a month to pay off my bills and stuff that I don’t want anybody to have my other credit cards. I’ve been using it for five years and it's good. I usually go to a reload location across the street at H-E-B and it’s really convenient for me. I was overcharged once but when I called Netspend, they put it right back in.
