    Using Netspend helps me keep an accurate account of how much money I have. I check my statement through the app. I also have a text alert with NetSpend, so every time anything happens with the account, I’m aware of it right away. But I dislike that when I order something from somewhere and my order is canceled, and I was already charged for that amount, I'm not told whether or not that money has been credited back to my account. It just says money is gonna be taken, but it doesn’t say if it comes back to the account. I constantly have to go into the app and look if the money is there or not. With Netspend, I get direct deposit and get my check on a Wednesday night as opposed to Thursday. I also don’t have to go anywhere or get anything to get my check cashed.

    When you have Direct Deposit, there’s no waiting in line to cash that check or waiting for that check to clear. We post deposits when they are received so that they are available for you to use.

    2 days ago my card was charged by a source I was not familiar with. Upon calling Customer Service I informed the Agent that I physically had the card and wanted information on the charge. The agent told me she could not give me that information. I replied, "Fine. I will call the company." The agent then persisted that my card had been compromised and she needed to cancel it. Several times I told the agent to not cancel my card. Her complete ignorance of my request was unfathomable. I asked for a supervisor and again told her she did not have authorization to cancel my card. Before finishing my sentence she cut me off and placed me on hold. 5 minutes into my holding a text came thru that my card had been reported lost or stolen and canceled.

    Now being 4 days before Thanksgiving and that being all my money with an entire family coming to my home to eat and I had not yet done my shopping I am infuriated. The supervisor gets on the phone. I explain everything and my disgust for the agent's behavior and as I do I am crying at times. He assures me I will have my card Tuesday (today) that he waived the UPS fee and apologized. I truly believe what that agent did was illegal. I did not report my card lost or stolen. I was disputing a transaction and wanted information.

    Upon checking my account there is no sign that this Supervisor sent my card UPS. The shipping date of to receive is 12/5. There is no email, no tracking number and I am very upset. I can't get access to MY money due to this agent's handling. I was with Netspend for 5 years. Left them due to a similar Customer service issue and about a year ago decided to try them again. How dare you prevent someone from accessing their own money without their actual authorization to do so. How am I suppose to feed MY family for a holiday? How dare that agent decide for me what to do.

    This company is a scam. I filed 4 claim where I sent the evidence of my disputes and they did nothing about it. When you call them they just hang up on you. I don't believe this company is operating under any laws that USA banks operate under.

    I was traveling to the Bahamas and was unable to board the cruise. Prior to traveling I contacted the cruise line and was advised that it was ok for me to board the cruise with my birth certificate. I traveled all the way from Michigan to Florida and was unable to board the cruise. I reached out to the cruise line and advised them to pull the call with the customer service rep and I and listen to her advise me that I could board the cruise. They pulled the call and was able to confirm that she advised me that it was fine. I disputed the transaction of over $500 with Netspend and was advised that I will receive a provisional credit within 10 business days IF they were not able to come up with a decision. I reached out to Netspend customer service and was advised that no credit would be issued.

    I am more than frustrated and highly upset about this. Netspend terms and conditions pertaining to a dispute clearly states that you can be issued a provisional credit within 10 business days and does not specify that it has to be a certain type of transaction in order for you to receive credit. There was a claim with the FTC against Netspend for these same reasons regarding disputed transactions and cardholders not being able to receive their funds. I am taking Netspend to small claims court. This is ridiculous on a whole different level and the service is horrible.

    I have been working with them to deposit some checks through a mobile application. They finally had me move to an account that supported that feature. Let just say I jumped through so many hoops to finally deposit some checks. (Amount less than $150) so when I go deposit the checks their system says the checks are expired, they are not. So I call their contact center. Come to find out Netspend offered me a feature that they know nothing about or support. Their manager (Desirae) just kept saying it is a third party that handles mobile check deposit. No attempt to help me. Nothing. So they offer a feature on their mobile application they DO NO SUPPORT. Why offer it then? You know there will be problems.

    So I ask this manager, "Can you call this third party because their recording is saying my account is closed." Then hangs up. My account is not closed. She comes back, "We can't do anything. You will have to email them." So now I have a useless check because their system has me write void on it. And I have to take time out of my day try and get this resolved....safe to say I am looking for another bank.

    There was a fraudulent charge on my card and about a week they closed the claim and refunded my money. However, after the over two weeks I still cannot access my own money. They keep telling me that I have to wait for a new card to be sent to me but I have yet to receive it. I have three children in private school, bills to pay, two vehicles that need gas and a family to feed but no access to my own money because of this company. I definitely do NOT recommend this card to anyone. They're literally holding my money hostage and I've called and e-mailed several times with no results. Never trusting this company again.

    I was collecting unemployment many years ago, and the card that was sent to me from the state was a Netspend card, and I've had it ever since. I prefer it than a regular bank. Every time I use the card, it's automatically updated right there on the spot. Usually, a regular bank card takes a day or two to show up. However, Netspend doesn't use paper checks at all. So when somebody had used my account and bought paper checks, I was like, "Wait a minute." Even the representative from Netspend laughed at it. There was $70 that was missing, and there was no dispute, so they sent me an emergency fund of $70 to cover it 2 days later. So, I've never had a bad experience with Netspend, none whatsoever and I've been with them for a good 5 years now. I also recommend them to everybody.

    Being with NetSpend has been pretty good. I've been with them since 2009. When I deposit money to my card, once the transaction is done at the register, the money is on it. Also, now that I receive disability, sometimes I get my check two or three days early. Sometimes I even get it a whole week early depending on the holiday season. I kinda got caught up in the overdraft things for a minute where they let me overdraft up to $100, but after I got that paid off, I've been okay.

    I bought the card and put $35 on it for my daughters birthday. They wanted my ssn, I thought that was weird so I made sure I had the right website. I did give them my information and they told me that my ssn doesn’t exist! They are supposed to mail me a check but I’m sure it won’t include tax I paid. I also loaded enough money to make my student loan payment. I’m supposed to wait 10 days for a refund ! Now my daughter has no birthday gift and my loan payment will be late and I might get kicked out of the program! Never ever use this company! They might have just ruined all the work I’ve done to get my finances in check!

    This so called bank of mine gave away $2000 of my money to a complete stranger over the phone and is now refusing to reimburse me. It has been 3 weeks now for them to close my claim over the dispute and now they are saying they made no mistake and I’m welcome to file another claim. They must not know what it is to have a car payment, house payment, insurance payment, and not to mention all the smaller bills. Do not use them and if you work for a company that uses them for your paycheck. Get another account somewhere else and let your company know about all the bad reviews.

    I had a check that showed my name as 'Dee' **, which is a nickname I go by sometimes. It is the first time an employer used 'Dee' as my name on a paycheck. It was their fault but the check is good. My address matched on the check. I have no relatives living here so it was not fraudulent. NetSpend would not even deposit it, until it cleared....my boss is sorry for the mistake but it will take a while to get it redone. There should be a backup plan for cases like this, based on proof supplied by me or my employer, to make sure a paper check can be cashed even if there is a waiting period to verify its legitimacy.

    Overall I am happy with the card and the services I receive. The only complaint I have with the company was the 1 time I had to rent a car and Netspend charged me $50 for doing so.     I have NetSpend prepaid debit card for 12 years going on perfectly and I get paid 2 days early. However, I had to shut it down because somebody got a hold of the account number and was making payments. I called and they shut the card down right away and locked the account. It was compromised so on I'm on the 7-day waiting period to receive my new card. After I get my first direct deposit when I get my new card, I can go back to normal.

    On October 30th, an unauthorize withdrawal was done from an ATM that was about 45 minutes from my location, which cause an overdraft. At the time of the withdrawal I contacted Netspend all access customer service to advise of the transactions taking place due to the text alerts I was receiving. Also at the time my debit card was with me, as I had just used it at the location I was at. The gentleman cancelled my card and said I need to dispute the withdraws which I was trying to do. They told me it would be November 14th before the investigation was complete. That same night I obtain a police report and sent them a copy.

    My local police obtain pictures from the ATM branch and now the Secret Service is involved. However Netspend said they closed the investigation and find that no wrongdoing took place and that my money would not be returned and if I disagree with their findings, in about a week they will send me the forms used to determine their findings, then I will have to make an appointment to speak with their fraud department but as they were concern the case is closed.

    How can someone make an ATM withdrawal without having your card or pin. This happen while I was in one city with my card and the money being taken from another city but They find nothing wrong with that. No refund or money being returned. I am fully committed to getting my money back and looking at all options since this is not the first time this has happened. In July it was a purchase that too was a finding of no wrongdoing. I will be contacting the BBB, FDC and all social media and major new stations.

    I was trying to withdraw Money from an atm. I don't receive any money from the atm. The atm took the money out of my account but didn't gave it to me. I filled a dispute. Netspend call center told me and sent me an email Sting that if I send a letter explaining what happened And the transaction details I would be able to receive a temporary credit on my account on 10 business days if they haven't complete the dispute. I called today after 12 business days and they said I gotta wait 45 business days, the merchant told me they got the videos and everything available for netspend, and netspend haven't do anything to resolve the dispute and credit my account.

    1. Netspend sends my money two days in advance. 2. Netspend is trustworthy. 3. Netspend are great in a disputes. They are prompt in handling it. 4. I like how you move from $9.95 in monthly fees to now, I have a Elite card and I pay a monthly fee of $5.00. I like that. Maybe cause I have been with them since 2007. 5. I like that using their card has many more places that accept their card. 6. I like their open to close times. I’m in the Pacific Northwest. They must be 3 hours ahead time wise. That’s Eastern time. I can get ahold of them at 6am to 5pm my time. 7. I like how easy it is to ask them any questions about whatever the problem may be. The hold times to speak to an agent are short whenever I call.

    I like their website. You can find an answer to your questions fairly easy. They have every thing they do for me. They have mobile check load, How to get 5% percent back shopping at the many stores they have listed. Savings if you can afford to save. Advancing to the Flare card where you they have more features. You join easy enough. Some don’t like the $9.95 monthly fees. If you don’t have a autograph deposit maybe they do have fees wherever you shop. Personally $9.95 monthly fees when I joined Netspend didn’t bother me. Thank you for your services.

    NetSpend has always been real helpful to me. I get my direct deposit on my check a little early, like on Wednesday instead of Friday. That helps out. Anytime I’ve ever had any problems, I’d go to the casino and stay at the hotel, and they won’t put it back on there until I call them. Sometimes it takes over two weeks, but usually when I call them, they direct deposit it through like I tell them. They can always charge it ‘cause I get direct deposit on my check.     So I have been using Netspend for about 5 years now. This year I had issues with someone from the state of Washington accessing my funds and a company withdrawing from my account every two weeks without permission. I submitted disputes. Netspend closed my account on a holiday weekend and advised they will mail me a check in 10 days. I have no other access to money and needs to pay my light bill. They hung up on me twice before getting an actual manager to say he would forward it up to home office. I am really about to be in the dark behind these people.     I’ve been with NetSpend for a few years and I'm very satisfied with them. I can get to them whenever I want to and I don’t have any issue using my card when I’m out of the country. The first time that I used it out of the country, they locked it for fraud protection. So I called and told them that the charge was mine. The rep asked me where the charge was and what the amount was. I told her that I was out of the country and they noted it up there. I've also used it when I was in Italy and in France. Also, I constantly get a text that I can see pretty much where I'm at and if the amount is exactly what I've spent for and because of the carrier that I have for my phone, I can get my text no matter where I’m at in the world.

    A year ago, I had an issue when somebody ordered $140 worth of pizza off my card in Solvang, California and I was in Missouri. I called the store and they said that there was nothing that they could do about it. So I called NetSpend about it and they refunded my money back. The process was they would give a contingent refund back and they would do an investigation. That took about 14 to 21 days. If they found out that it wasn’t what you said, then they would take that money back. Also, I have my kids and my mom on NetSpend so whenever I wanna send them money, I can just FlashPay them money immediately and I don’t have to worry about ATM fees.

    My wife & I received a text from Net-spend that our cards had been flagged for fraudulent activity. After calling Net spend and spending over 3 hours on the phone. We were advised that new cards would be issued. Not an hour after the call the entire account was closed & then $758.00 was moved to another card. When we contacted Netspend they advised us that one of us did this. We told them in about 50 times we did not. Now we were transferred around 5 times & one lady could not even remember her name so we could take down information. Netspend refused to give us any information on how the money was allegedly transferred. We were told we had to file a police report & an FTC report, which we did. I drove to the Austin Texas HQ on Brazos street & sat in the lobby for an hour & a half. No one would come out to speak with me. Every time we speak to the so called fraud department we get a different representative & a new story.

    I just got off the phone with another rep & she wants a dispute email. There is no manager in fraud department according to them. My wife & I are fully committed to getting our money back & looking at all options. Just seems quite the coincidence that the money was taken after the fraud alert. By the way someone was supposed to call me from the corporate office & that has not happened either.

    Forget filing a dispute here! They don't help you at all. My car was broken into and my phone and card were stolen. I filed a police report and I filed a dispute on October 20th for multiple fraudulent transactions, Netspend told me I would get a update on the 1st of November. When the 1st came around they said no error was found. They said the reason it was denied was 'cause my balance was checked with my phone while the transaction was taken place!! I told them my phone was also stolen too! They refuse to let me appeal it and when I request what documents they used to deny my dispute they said they'll email them to me. I still have not received them. This bank is horrible! All it does is steal people's money.

    Using the Netspend card is a lot easier because I get the text messages that show me my balance, so I know exactly what I have. That's awesome and it makes it better. I also love that I get my pay early. I pay my bills and do everything with my card like a regular Visa does. The only problem that I've had is some companies won't let me use it because it is a prepaid card. For example, I can do the 50-50 pay a little bit here and then pay the other half next month on Amazon, but it won't let me do it with Netspend because it's a prepaid card versus if I use a credit card or a regular bank card. Other than that, there are no issues at all when loading or doing direct deposits. And, I've always had good experience with customer service. They've always been really helpful on resolving issues.

    I have been with Netspend for 9 years!!!! I get my deposits and keep it moving. I pay a monthly fee and use it as much as I want to, hearing that makes you wonder why the rating is so low hmmm??? Well issues just started when I misplaced a card cool pay the $25 and get one rushed... well that wasn’t a rush and normal replacement fees are 9.95 I believe and then one rep told me to go in store and buy another netspend and just move the money over to be able to use it until my card comes. I thought simple enough. They charged for everything and it was $40 in charges.

    I have multiple screenshots & recordings from my calls and the reps just put me on hold over 30 minutes each time and never comeback to the line. You won’t get a resolution not will you feel that they understood your problem! Literally 4 streams of income goes to this card and after 9 years the customer service is just horrible and I’m done. GETTING PAID EARLY ISN’T WORTH THIS HEADACHE!!!

    If I could (-5 star) is what I'd like to rate Netspend!!! I'm away on my first vacation in 6 years! I'm on day two in Orlando,FL. I purchased this at a 7-Eleven because I did not want to carry cash or my actual cards with me to the parks. Seems simple right. Yup worst mistake ever! They have ruined my day and now I have no money to buy stuff for my memories. So in just few hours yesterday I purchased the card, read the agreement and instructions and activated the card. At 8pm last night I purchased the card with cash at 7-Eleven with only a small amount under $100 and was happy it was all set and easy. I go to bed and not even 9 hrs later my acct is locked online and card is blocked for fraud. And the customer service was so bad the supervisors were useless and the fraud department was a joke.

    I try activating it on the phone and it kept messing up so I went online. Sure enough they want all this info about me even though it's a gift card or prepaid Visa and I will not give them my social or anything too personal because it isn't necessary for this type of account at all. So I get all the confirmation emails and texts. I go to use it. Not even a full 24hrs later my card is locked and you called 8 times. I spoke with both Angela, three Indian people, Supervisor names Roger and then another fraud rep. claiming she is her own boss and there isn't any one higher up. They all could not tell me why my card was flagged as fraud and a risk but placed me on multiple holds for 20mins each time I requested I speak to a supervisor who is able to unlock my acct so I can use my money to buy souvenirs and stuff and continue my vacation.

    They told me I needed to send a picture of my social security card, my license and I didn't let them finish. I lost it then the story changed to a fraud alert went on my acct for my location like it's a major bank or credit company?! Then the bright one of the bunch I spoke to last decided to change the story and say it's because my cell phone is under another name?!?! Okay well I'm on a family plan. I've always been on one and she they says, "Well you cant be on one and verify it identity." Hahahha I was done after that response. She a true genius like never heard of that one before hmmmmm. Real fishy especially when I've applied for loans and mortgage they ask for that but never have cared about my cellphone acct. So why the ** would a ** no name PREPAID VISA card company be different? Now I'm thinking wtf. I used cash in store. It's MY OWN ** MONEY!!!

    I paid their dumb fee and they lock my acct for unusual activity and because I'm on a family cell phone plan?! I have never heard such a dumb response. I'm so upset they stole my money and blame fraud and unusual activity on a card not even a day old and it's been locked the whole time. Now my money is gone. I have none left to buy anyone gifts and will have to cancel my acct and not see the money until I'm home from my trip. Such a sad thing and it seems to be common as I've been reading the last week or so. I was told that they had no supervisors and they had no boss's or personnel above them.

    Do they think I'm dumb?! So tonight I kept calling back multiple times never hanging up. If they kept me in hold for 15mins I'd hang up and call right back all day from 8am to 10pm!!!! I just Wanted this to be smooth and easy and what a shame that this company is still able to legally have rights to even handle people's money. Robots who read a script of bull crap just repeat a general response that does not help me or that never answers the question so they make up answers like my phone number doesnt have my name because it's not under me so they need a photo of my SS card?

    Okay so now I WILL BE CANCELLING TOMORROW CONTACTING THE BBB, Axis Bank, and the FDC. They with hold money from innocent hard working people who actually ** need it That day or sometime soon that week not 19 days later. It's a sin that this company hasnt been sued but karma is something sweet. Liars, frauds, and just scummm. I hope your happy. I can't purchase the one gift I wanted for my amazing 80 year old grandma who's been in the hospital. I'll my Disney memory picture album!!

    A card was loaded with $160 as a birthday present while I was down in Mexico. I tried to activate the card online and was prompted to call their customer support line. Upon calling their support, going through their endless AI menus, I was transferred to a person, who then transferred me to someone who then transferred me to someone... This happened 5 times, and through it all, they started asking me very personal questions. Such as, "Of these people, who do you know?" and, "this address of yours, which town is it nearest to?" I was then transferred to one more department, where no information about me could be found, even after it all just having been entered in.

    I was put on hold for 5 mins before he comes back and tells me that in order for me to activate this prepaid card, to get the money that was already loaded onto it, that I would have to supply them with documentation to prove that I am who I am. I didn't want to have to go through the measures that I did with these people to set up a bank account, or what seems more realistic, willingly give away private information about myself to them. Setting up a bank account takes less time than trying to activate a prepaid card with this fraudulent company.

    They are lucky to even get a single star, as this company should have never existed with these sorts of practices, and there is not an option to create a negative star experience that would siphon all other existing stars from creation, which is the least that they deserve. For anyone reading this who is thinking of ever trying out their services, DON'T! And for whomever is reading this and is questioning the legitimacy of this 'business,' please investigate them. With the sorts of questions they asked me, the amount of time it took for me to get anywhere, there has to be something more underneath their surface.

    Oh and did I ever mention that I was never able to actually activate the card? Unless I supplied them with documentation about myself to prove that I was who I was, they would not activate it. I have the entire call; all of the transfers recorded too, and having played it for several people, some of whom work in finances, were completely baffled and equally appalled.

    Not only has Netspend dropped the ball on when Direct Deposit times, they will try and tell you that they can’t the times they come in. That’s bs and why there are 1,000 of postings on this same exact subject. How about every coworker at my company getting their deposit (still haven’t received mine) before me when we get paid on the same time? There is no explanation for that and save me with your default response. They also have the worst dispute process known to man and let my account get drained from fraud multiple times. Do not go with Netspend. There are more reliable options out there that do similar services.

    I currently use several digital pay services on my phone. I use Google Pay, Cash App, and Samsung Pay. My Samsung Pay app offered me to sign up for a Samsung Pre-Paid visa Card. I applied and was given a digital card on my phone. I loaded the card with money from my bank debit card. I used the card for about a week or so and had no problem until it was deactivated with a fraud alert. I contacted the number provided and spoke with a gentleman on the phone who was very helpful. He asked for my phone number and called me back to verify, who I was. Upon calling me back he asked serval questions regarding my account. The gentleman then reactivated my card.

    A week or two later the card stop working with another fraud alert attached. I attempted to call the automated system and the system refused to accept my phone number and simply hung-up. There was never an option to speak to an operator. I decided to send an email to Samsung Customer Service believing the card was issued by Samsung. Samsung customer service forwarded my email to a NetSpend call center. There is where the hell started. I spoke with several people who claimed they could not verify my identity. Even though, they asked for my SSN and other personal information. I explained the problem and gave them the exact amount of money on the card. They refuse to help and asked that I send them a copy of my driver's license and my social security card.

    Basically they were asking for me to provide them everything needed to steal my identity. Of course I refused and asked to speak to a supervisor for assistance. I was routed to several different people I believe who falsely said they were supervisors. After three days of emailing Samsung and being put on hold by NetSpend for 30 to 40 minutes. A manager finally called me. To end a long story he agreed to lift the fraud alert for one hour so I could use the MY MONEY to purchase gas and other needed things. This could have been done on the first call I made to NetSpend. Instead, I was treated like a criminal. Keep in mind I was trying to use my money on a prepaid card. They had called me serval times at my phone number and claimed they could not verify, who I was. Please avoid this company at all costs! I believe they are attempting to gather as much information on people as much as possible.

    On 10/25/19 I received 2 text alerts saying that 2 ATM withdraws was made at a store I've never been to for 360$ in a one minute time frame. No one has my card or PIN number but yet I have to wait 10 days maybe for a credit which makes no sense knowing they only mail you one card.     Got a NetSpend card. Was going to use it for direct deposit for my company and cashing checks from side company, they denied the first check I tried to load, work went to do direct deposit. Shows it went through NetSpend. Shows no pending transactions. Today is my payday and I have no check, and they said it's not their deal. It's in the bank from work, check all their information at my job and shows to be correct, and then said it could take up to 3 days for me to get my check maybe but yet they say no hassle. Two days earlier deposit my company post direct deposit 2 days prior to Payday, do not recommend this for anybody, and I am removing them completely. I'm going to go with somebody else.

    I'm only giving this one star because it won't let me give them NO stars. I have a client who lives far from me, so I had to use a debit card to provide services to them. Netspend had me sending the documents forever for a freaking prepaid card, and over 48 hours later it STILL is not activated and it has $200.00 on it! They say they can't transfer it to another card, and they're only willing to mail a check back to me taking 6 more days, when it would be faster to just activate my damn card! This has my client very agitated, and will cost me $2500.00 if I lose this client. Their packaging says nothing about having to upload documents and wait 6 hours unless they don't approve something in which the 6 hours starts over again. Had their packaging said this I never would have bought this card, that's misleading advertising, and the loss of $2500, in revenue to top that off plus the loss of MY time, oh yeah Netspend I'm suing Your ** off!!!!

And I’m not just talking about 100 and something dollars I’m talking about $1500 was taken out of my account and I had a little bit of money in there and I can’t even talk to someone else beside these robotic sounding phone call-center people.

    I’ve been with this bank for over 18 years. This is horrific. So that they were going to mail a check out. Will check in the account money still sitting there meanwhile my 15-year-old barely have anything to eat because they got all my money. What’s the possibility of somebody from corporate talking to me is saying something different besides this robotic phone call center. This will be the first incident in the last with this bank and I’m hoping they can help me out because if they can’t I’m gone and So are all my family members.

    Someone hacked my card info and made 2 fraudulent purchases within 5 minutes of each other (2 purchases for $171.20 each) and Netspend allowed these charges to go through, they didn’t flag the purchases at all. I get text message updates every time a purchase is made on my card so I was able to see that my card info was compromised right away. I hurried and called Netspend to report the charges as fraud and they tried to act like they didn’t believe me, and claimed that they would “do their best to get my money back.”

    They canceled my card and sent me a new one, when the card came in the mail, the envelope was completely open, there wasn’t even adhesive on the envelope to keep it closed. Someone could’ve written my card numbers and billing address down, and I feared that this card would be compromised as well. When I called them back to get an update on when I would get my money they said they couldn’t prove that the charges are fraudulent. I’m currently trying to file a dispute with them to get my money back because this is ridiculous. They are FDIC insured so they will get the money back, so I’m not sure why they would let people steal our money and get away with it. Avoid getting a Netspend card at all costs.

    I have had all my direct deposit from work made into my Netspend account. I finally upgraded to Netspend all access and recently had my card stolen OMG with my 253$ direct deposit from work for the week. The same week I had my NEWBORN SON in the hospital I have many witness that can prove I wasn’t in the area the time the ATM transactions went through.... they still have not fixed it.     I was activating a card for a homeless person and I wanted to put money for him on the card instead of giving him cash. And we both made a mistake filling up the info correct. He did not know his ssn# right and gave me a wrong one and so the card did not get activated. So try calling. They could not fix the issue and told me someone will call back. Never got a call back but in meantime I went and got the person one of the Visa gift card that was easy to activate. Long story short. Me helping him was a one time thing, I don't even remember his full name or his ssn.

    I called the company back thinking it would not be a big deal to reset the account info because it was put in incorrect and I can reactivate the account with my info. This problem started sometime in 2016 I think. First couple of time when I called I gave them little bit info I remember but I can't remember nothing about it anymore the person but every time I see the card in my drawer I attempt to call them and I never get anywhere. So today I try to speak with supervisor and was end up talking to an employ (2 time attempted) for a while until they decided to transfer me to a supervisor and that hold went to a main menu to start all over or the phone was simply hanged up.

    3rd time I call and I did not answer any question and ask to only speak to a supervisor. After 15 minute hold I did. I explained to her what the problem was and she was giving me no solution unless I can find the person I put the info in. She asking me to email my SSN and ID with the receipt so they can maybe reset it. Totally understandable. But still mumbling on the solution. I asked her for her name and she said Fath. I don't know if its was fake info but that was the end of the conversation because she hang up on me. Really like to have a solution to this problem. Email address **.

    Netspend was the first one that came out with the prepaid ATM card, and I've been using it for about 6 years now. I like that if there's no money in there, then nothing's coming out. I also like being able to use it to pay bills and make online purchases, which is a good thing. I regularly do direct deposit as well. The customer service is great and they seem to be genuine when I call them with any complaints. They all help me out. So, you should try it. It's better than a regular bank.

    I have been working for 5 days to get Mileage to Go NetSpend to cancel pending charges on my card...totally over $2400. Given it was a hotel's fault for multiple charges but they have provided multiple forms of documentation to show transactions voided and would not be collected yet somehow that isn’t enough. I have been told over the course of multiple phone calls lasting upwards of an hour each between regular customer service, supervisors and managers that no one can do anything.

    Stories include: 24 hour time frames, $200 limit, 2 transaction limit or global support required. Mind you a global support that either never get told or never call or who get 4-6 hours to respond after multiple days. It is no longer security to avoid fraudulent it is then fraudulently holding my thousands of dollars for themselves. I would seriously suggest not using this card for anything substantial or for any business purposes. Worst customer service experience of my life.

    I had been with Netspend for over 10 years and had some issues with transactions I did not approve and hacking of my account from overseas. I stayed with them anyway because my direct deposit went on this card. All of a sudden they closed my entire account without notice and when I called they told me it was suspicious activity so they closed my account. My paycheck could not be deposited, the funds I had in the account I could not access to get out. I had to wait an extra week to get a printed paycheck because they just decided to close my account without notice for a transaction that I approved but they thought was suspicious.

    I paid my car payment and said it went through but then it bounced a day later because they took their fee out. I paid it before and they took it after the fact. They never send me notifications about when the fee is due. I just called and spoke to customer service to a person named Toni who said the name was didn't match which was not it at all. I have paid this before using my card so Toni has no idea what he/she is talking about. Your practice of taking out your fee when there is a payment pending is wrong and should not be allowed to do that to consumers.

    I use NetSpend over any bank since 2015 because I’ve had issues with regular banks in the past. And as far as any other issues with NetSpend, I haven’t had anything. The two-day early direct deposit and the money transfer are convenient, being able to do that with no fee, and then the low-fee monthly maintenance is a plus as well.     I received a text message to call Netspend due to suspicious activity. I confirmed all of my personal info & was told that someone was trying to hack my acct. The rep said that whoever was calling did NOT have my card number or my PIN. They only had my social security number. They were claiming my card was lost and wanting to transfer all of my money to another account. (That should have been your sign right there!) I was PROMISED my money was safe, told that my account was blocked until they could resolve the issue, then just ten minutes later $1481.92 (every penny to my name!!!!) was emptied from my account in a one time transfer. Customer service allowed this person to make this transfer without 99% of the required information!!! They failed me completely. And all I got was "I'm sorry. We will file a dispute." Well now I have to figure out how to feed my children. Thanks Netspend for costing me everything!!!!

    Back in 2011 when I lived in Kennewick, Washington, I was in a check cashing space and I got NetSpend when I first got my card. I'm on disability and that’s my only income.     I've read quite a few reviews on this website complaining about the same issue. Direct Deposit. Netspend advertises "2 days faster". 2 days faster than what? When contacting customer service I am told that Netspend "has not received the funds" and that the funds will be available immediately upon receipt. I've contacted the Direct Deposit sending bank (Bank of America) and have documented evidence that the Direct Deposit was electronically sent to my Netspend account. What happens to those funds for 3-4 days? Why do you advertise a benefit such as "2 days faster" when it's simply NOT true?

    I've been using Netspend for 3 years or more and I feel more comfortable being able to use their card and just spend money rather than using a credit card. I use credit card as only an alternative if I have to. I use my Netspend card to buy food from my commissary, I use it for a lot of outside meals like for Chili’s or Red Lobster, and I even use it when I go to my bookstore, Nobles. So, I use it for a lot of my daily expenses.

    Reload locations for Netspend are all over the place and I put money in when I can and when I want to. There's only a drawback that’s got me a little bit upset which was if I use Netspend in Speedway, I combine them and get extra points for the use of the card. Normally, when I do a reload, all I do is pay and I don’t get any points. But after every seventh one, it’s a freebie, but I’m still not getting the points, and I should be. I’m supposed to get those points when I do a high dollar amount. Speedway says it’s Netspend, and Netspend says, “Oh, it’s gotta be Speedway.” So, there I go. But I’m not gonna play with it as I got more important things to do. Still, Netspend is great and it’s just exactly how I want it to. It’s very convenient as well.

    Please don't ever expect to get any money back from fraudulent charges on your NetSpend card. No matter how small they are. Also their fees are absolutely ridiculous. There's so many other prepaid cards you can use that have better security and customer service. I'm still waiting on a refund from six months ago. I just gave up and went with Brinks. NetSpend is a joke that just takes advantage of people who may not be able to obtain an actual bank account through an actual brick-and-mortar bank.

    NetSpend gives you your check in advance, about two days early. They give me a text and let me know about any activity. If I ever get a transaction that isn’t mine, I can cancel the card real quick, lock it and call them. Lately though, I’ve had a problem with a company that I thought was paid but wasn’t. I purchased a TV type channel and they were supposed to have been paid two to three weeks ago, and come to find out, it wasn’t.     Recently, ok well, 50 days ago today, I filed a dispute for an amount of $500. Policy states they see if it can be resolved in 10 days, if not, they can issue a provisional credit. I have not received one and now it's 40 days past. I was told via email once, that because of the type of dispute I filed, Reg E doesn't allow provisional credits. I read Reg E and it doesn't say that. Also, disputes, according to the website, can take up to 45 days. IT'S DAY 50. Why do I have to wait so long? No one answers my emails and your hours of business doesn't help us on the west coast.

    NetSpend is convenient. I like their price and the early paydays. However, I had a little issue with them a few months ago and they didn’t handle it very well. I used to have an overdraft protection. I used it too much and they suspended me on it, which was fine. But then they sent me an email saying that since I’ve been a long-time customer, they were gonna give me the overdraft protection back. When I called to inquire when will I get the gold status back, they said, “We can’t do that. And there should be a $500 direct deposit every month.”

    I didn’t understand it because when I got the card, I had the overdraft protection, but not putting in the $500 deposit. I said that was not what the email said and I sent them the email, and they never gave the overdraft protection back. They shouldn’t have sent me the email if they weren’t gonna do it. Furthermore, I don’t think there's anyone in customer service that could really speak English. It's all broken English. So, it's hard to communicate with them, too. But despite that, I would recommend them.

    I did NOT sign up for this card. Somehow, they got my full name and address. A fully usable plastic Mastercard debit with a sticker on it that showed how to activate it. I have received applications for credit and debit cards before, but NEVER one with a fully usable account number. This is outrageous and uncalled for and should be illegal!!!! THERE IS NO REASON WHY MY NAME SHOULD BE ON THIS CARD. That is something that only the customer should legally be able to do!!!

    I've been with Netspend for at least five years and I don't have to worry about interest rates or about money not being on the card. I usually have half of my pay go to the Netspend card and I use it to pay bills. It's really convenient to pay bills, and definitely for saving money as far as in my regular bank account. Getting my pay varies. Sometimes, it's there right on the Friday and sometimes, it's been there as early as Wednesday. I've also used the reload location at Walgreens in town and several truck stops.

    Recently, my identity through my card was compromised and some money was taken off of the card without my knowledge. I drive trucks and it's obvious that the card could be used in various parts of the country in a short period of time. But they should have some type of system that would calculate distances and time because when my card was compromised, I used it in my hometown but it was used again 500 miles away two hours later which was not possible. I had to get the proper information to Netspend, and they took care of everything and put the money back on there.

    I’ve been using Netspend for almost a year and a portion of my payroll check is deposited to the account. This past weekend I won some money at the casino and deposited some of those winnings into this account. Who knew depositing money would be such a hassle? My account got put on restriction and it has been a pain to get it released. Customer service has a different answer each time. Documents sent and told some are missing (yet all in same email so if you got two how do the other two fail). Then after the 3rd time sending the documents are cleared. They won’t let you speak to the document department and say they can’t either.

    Get email that account is being sent to risk dept for final review. Call risk and they say that the backup dept hasn’t closed it out yet and they are closed. How many depts do you have to go to? Still don’t have access to my account. Also irritated that the documents you have to send are personal - like you driver license and social security card. However they lock you out of your online account so you can’t submit securely and are forced to send through unsecured email. This whole process will make me think twice about using them. I have already stopped my payroll check from going.

    I just recently got a prepaid card and the only way to activate it is to give your home address, state of residence, and social security number. Then worst of all you have to send them picture proof that of all this documentation. This is unrealistic considering you're not even supposed to give your social to your doctor but have to give it to somebody over the phone. Sounds like a bunch of identity thieves. All for a prepaid card to purchase a little something online. I don't recommend this this company to anybody. There's been rumors that they have been scamming a lot of people anyways.

    I paid cash for a card to make car payment. I kept the receipt, packaging, and went home and activated the card providing my name, address, ss#, etc. as requested. I hung up the phone and attempted to use the card online only to be given a message the card was declined. I called my bank and attempted to use the card and they said it was invalid. I called Netspend. They said that the card had been blocked for suspicious activity. I am currently still on the phone 3 hours later after having been bounced between customer service and fraud and eventually hung up on y Kate in the fraud department who also lied about her supervisor's name. In addition I was told there were no supervisors to speak with.

    When I called back I was asked if I sent proof of address, social security number, id, etc. when I emailed my photo of the receipt. I was then told the photo of the receipt may not be accepted because the two bottom corners were cut off which was an ad for a different product. In a nutshell this company is crap. They will hold your money hostage. I'll update at some point with whether or not I get my $465.00 back because as of right now I've been on hold another 45 minutes.

    I booked a flight online, Netspend found that it was okay to not only charge me once for the flight, but 3 times! I’ve spent countless hours on the phone trying to get my $756 refunded. The last time I called, approximately 30 minutes before closing, the representative I spoke to was rude and argumentative. I then asked for a manager, she proceeded to state she’d place me on hold for 2 minutes and return with a manager. Not only did she leave me on hold for over 30 minutes, she also failed to let me know she was still waiting on a manager.

    Once the manager finally got on the phone, his attitude was condescending and cold. After explaining to him that this was a mistake on Netspend's side, he then proceeded to ignore me for 10 minutes straight. He was still on the phone but pretended not to hear me. I have NEVER experienced such poor customer service. Of course once I called back, the offices were err closed. I am beyond infuriated! I will be calling again tomorrow and every day until this issue is fully resolved, I also plan on forwarding this matter to the Better Business Bureau and consulting an attorney. I wouldn’t recommend this sham of an institution to my worse enemy!!! Don’t use Netspend! It’s not worth the hassle!

    When I used to cash my check in the check cashing place on Lexington Avenue in Manhattan, they had NetSpend there in stock. I noticed it in the window and I inquired about it. I had the card as well as the pamphlet to read the information on how it works, then I started using it. But recently, I don't go to the reload locations as much as I used to because I use my payroll now. Once in a while, when I need a couple of extra dollars or if I'm gonna make a purchase, I would load my NetSpend card. But I don't really use it as much as I used to. Other than that, when I was at an ATM in my area, I was informed that I got the money, but I actually didn't. I had the issue resolved by putting in a complaint and in the end, they have me back my money. I would recommend them to a friend.

Well I believe I am being scammed as I have yet to get anything and when I call I get the run around and am asked to verify my address multiple times.     So I tried to withdraw money and ATM did not gave me receipt or cash. Called Netspend. They told me to wait 10 days. Then they told me to wait 3 more weeks. I called and claim was already closed and that no errors were found and would give back refund. That was last week. Today I wake up, I see a message in my inbox. Called Netspend and was told my account was closed due high risk and that I'm not able to open a new account even though I used card last night and have to wait for the check of my WHOLE remaining balance in mail 7 to 10 days. So I got no money at all. Terrible service for a customer that's been 4 or 5 years with Netspend. Looking forward for lawsuit.

    My parents have had NetSpend for quite a few years, and overall, their experience has been good mostly because their direct deposit, their paycheck comes in a couple of days before the normal payday, which is nice. But the one thing that they've always had a gripe about was when they're trying to either put cash on the card or pull out any money, there's a restriction of $300 limit cash withdrawal per day regardless of how many ATMs you go through. On top of that, if you don't do the $10 a month fee system, then it's like a dollar per transaction. And then, having to pay money to put money on the card when going through ACE check cashing or any of the reload locations.

    Personally, I also had NetSpend for a short while, and it was good, especially with the up-to-date text messages that tell you how much is remaining in your account or any time there was a random charge and you're able to see what it is and jump on it immediately. I've always liked that because I have yet to find another bank that does the transaction notification saying, "Hey, you just spent $9.76 over at Walmart, and you also have this much remaining." I always found that to be super helpful.

    The only thing that I didn't really like is you're either forced to do the $10 in order to avoid the individual charge fee, which is always like a $1.50 or $1 per transaction. And the one thing I noticed through a lot of other banks is that you have a monthly service fee, let's say $14, $15, and that covered any and all of your charges. However, if they did a direct deposit of $500 or greater throughout the month, or if you had an accumulative direct deposit total of 500 or greater, they would wipe those fees away.

    I have been a loyal customer for well over 10 years or more! Recently I have had a couple of refunds due back to me from merchants in the amount of hundreds of dollars! The merchant has provided proof and maintained that my refund was processed and it’s up to my bank to put the funds back into my account! I have called and called and I speak to workers whom don’t know what they are talking about! No one can tell me where my hard earned money is!!! I feel like they are holding customers funds hostage!!!

    I have gotten refunds from merchants and get it back in no time but lately with them it has been 6..7...8...10 days before I see my money!!! I am expecting a refund from a merchant and today will make the 5th day from the time the merchant processed the refund with proof and I still don’t have my money! I am definitely looking to switch companies after these last two issues!!! UNACCEPTABLE!!! Especially when it comes to money you worked hard for????

    I saw NetSpend in an ad on the phone. I clicked it and they sent the card to me. I've been using it for 5 years now and I like the $10 withdrawal. If you ain't got it, you don't get an extra charge. For example, if I don't have enough money on my card, I could go up to negative 10 but there's no overdraft charge and there are no charges. All the other banks give it to you, but they'll charge you and they call it withdrawal protection. That's not withdrawal protection, that's just charging you. Other than that, I mainly get direct deposit with Social Security on my NetSpend card and I'd get it about five days early. Usually, it comes in 25th or the 26th of every month. But I get a 100 emails a month where it says if you refer a friend, you get $20, and they get $20. That is not true though and it gets kind of annoying. I've tried doing it before and it doesn't work.

    Plus, they switched me to the NetSpend All-Access card without asking and I would not recommend that to any one. When I called them, they told me that I would save at ATMs with that card but I told them that I don't get charged for ATMs already. They said that I was but I just said that I'd rather stick with what I've been with for five years, so there'd be no confusion. They transferred me back to the regular NetSpend and they set me back up. So, there were no charges, just a little bit of confusion, but it got took care of. And as far as the NetSpend is concerned, everything else has been perfect. When I had issues with a few things, they fixed the problem.

    I received a card as a gift that was already loaded with $20. Not a huge amount of money, but I thought I could use it to buy bananas or something. I never intended to re-load the card once the $20 was gone. I called, and during the activation, they started asking for my social security number and driver's license number. The first time they did this, I hung up. The second time I called, I mentioned specifically I wanted a limited use card, meaning I wouldn't be able to reload it, and I would only be able to use it in store. For the limited use cards, their own website states they do not require a full identity verification, but they STILL asked for my social and driver's license number, because of a "restriction in the back office." I'm curious why they want this information so badly, when their own company website states they don't need it for my intended use.

But I recently lost my card and with no other means I had to have it shipped 1-2 day, highway robbery what they charged me. Then I just get my card and had a dispute, they shut it off again!     I wouldn't give these people one star. On the phone for 3 days REPRESENTATIVES lied to me about refund. I contacted documents department with my refund receipt from the merchant. They denied the email because it didnt come from the merchant. I called back and was told the documents department called the merchant and an expedited refund was issued. Nothing happened. Days nothing happens. Now I'm reaching out to warn you all. DO NOT USE. Aside from bogus fees they will not release your money.

    I placed an order for 2 items and used my Netspend card. One item was a duplicate order. I cancelled the duplicate immediately. No items were shipped. Netspend wouldn't release hold. So then I cancelled all items on Amazon. Netspend wouldn't release hold. I Contacted Amazon, got the verification that Amazon sent bank the proper information for the hold to be credited back to my account. Today, 2 of the charges are still pending and one cleared. Over $140 and Netspend doesn't care.

    A said gym merchant charged my account after I had cancelled their services. I contacted Netspend and they did not want to refund my money. They said I had to file a claim to get a provisional credit while the issue was resolved. I had to send them an email with all the information. Then when I call them the next agent tells me that I've been misinformed and that the provisional credit is for future purposes on claims that take longer. So not only did they lie, I still don't have my money. They are outsourced to India or the Philippines cause all the agents' English is horrible. Go to another prepaid card service. Don't use Chime because they are both ran by Bancorp. Same crap to deal with.

    For years I have gotten direct deposit two days faster than normal payday on Wednesday night, but for the past month, my last two deposits have been late on Thursdays and I haven't received my deposit for today either.. If this continues, I'm switching to another bank or card company. This is very frustrating to experience.

The only time I didn't get paid 2 days early was not because of NetSpend but because of my employer.     Due to bad credit and no access to a reputable financial institution, I ended up with a NetSpend card. Things improved and I got a really good job with direct deposit and continued to use NetSpend. With it, I get my check about one day early. I use it to pay bills and make online purchases. Moreover, Walmart is fine as a reload location. I would recommend NetSpend.

    My card was copied at a restaurant and the next day my account was emptied & all the transaction was made in Detroit. I live in Chicago, so I called customer service & I asked them why didn't they shut the card off when they could see that it wasn't me. They kept transferring me to different people when I was trying to file a dispute and they all sound like there foreigners which I don't have a problem with, but make sure you know what your talking about & they need to properly train the people working for them.

    Then I finally talk w/ a manager. She tell me all is taken care of and there's an investigation going to be made. Then a almost 2 weeks go by & I haven't heard anything, so I call in & they tell me a dispute was never made for all the transactions and to file a dispute all over again. Now they're saying they made a final determination and closed the case & basically I'm not going 2 get my money back. I will never again use this company again. Nobody knows what their talking about and I'm going to file a complaint w/ the BBB.

    I am totally annoyed. I have been with Netspend for over 2 years and have never had any issue EVER until now. My direct deposit is extremely late. I do the payroll. I have the payroll print out and it has been processed and posted. I called each employee to make sure they were paid and they were....except me! So this means it is held up on your end. I think it's time to go back to WELLS FARGO and not pay all your fees. I know for a fact my payroll has been processed because I do it and all of my employees have been paid. Where is my deposit?     I recently received a Netspend card loaded with $100 as a gift. I received many types of gift cards in the past, and I have never had a problem...until now! First, I visited their website to activate my card. It asks for name, address, etc. Well, for whatever reason Netspend said they could not verify my identity with the information I provided! Next, I receive an email asking them for scanned copies of my driver's license, a current utility bill, and my social security card! Reluctantly, I do this because I need this hundred dollars.

    Next, I get a reply email claiming that the documents I just scanned to them were not valid! They are not valid because my social security card and the utility bill shows my entire hyphenated married name, and my driver's license just shows my maiden name. So now I have to go the DMV, apply for an updated driver's license, wait for it to be mailed to my house, and then email or fax it to Netspend. All this so I can use a gift card. Unbelievable.

    Everything has been going okay with my NetSpend. When I called and replaced my card, their reps took care of what I asked them to take care of. I was satisfied with the service. My NetSpend is through PayPal. I’ve never heard of PayPal being bad, which was why I went with NetSpend. My favorite thing about direct deposit is that it gives you the early receipt stub back when you get the deposit.

    They barely speak English! If you call and talk to a representative and call later that day they will say they have no record of talking to anyone. If you ask to talk to a supervisor, the representative will act like they are transferring you and get back on and act like you are talking to a supervisor. They have no idea what they are doing. It's like they hired a bunch of kids to run customer service. You have to keep repeating yourself because they don't understand what you're saying. Netspend is a joke!

    I've had my NetSpend account for so many years, and my experience with them has been outstanding. Managing my finances has been easier since having the card. I like the ease of access to my funds. I use direct deposit and I can get maximum security deposit that goes right into my account, and it's accessible. I make sure customer service takes care of it, even though they're in the Philippines. Sometimes, though, it takes a little while before customer service picks up. Since I've spent time in the Philippines, I do notice mostly the person would always have a Filipino accent.

    Bought two cards from Walmart as gift for my kids to use when away from home and at school. Called in and told ready to go, new cards on the way. One card showed up and two months later I am still trying to get second card. Multiple calls and after much frustration I get told it is fixed and wait 7 to 10 days. Nothing shows so call back in and guess what...I have to start over. 3 weeks ago after I couldn't understand person I called back in and got someone I could and after 45 minutes on phone once again assured my son's card would be sent. And nothing showed. I called in today and tried to 40 minutes to resolve issue calmly and lady says she would need to put me on hold for a brief moment..

    20 minutes later I give up and call back in. I ask to speak supervisor calmly and get put on hold. 45 minutes later I call in on a second line and they assure me I will get to a supervisor right away. 15 minutes later I finally get a supervisor who proceeds to tell me I have to mail a social security card pic to them and all sort of items. Refuses to just resolve issue even though the prior operators from weeks prior assured me no problem. What was a gift for my kid's birthday has cost me 5 hours of call time and more frustration that ever worth. I can believe I ever used my identity and personal information with this company. So after all that the best resolution is to shred the cards, sign up for it and credit fraud watch. Just terrible for a program that should be so simple to use.

    The first issue that I have had with NetSpend was a situation back in May of 2019 where I unknowingly purchased a product from a fraudulent company on-line. Not too long after that purchase I realized at and call NetSpend to ask them to cancel that transaction. They told me that they couldn't being that the merchant already took my money but that they would look into it for me. Try to contact them and get my refund, debit it back onto my card. Needless to say I never ever heard back from NetSpend on that situation nor have I ever ever got my money back.

    Currently August 27th 2019 a merchant named Dental arts laboratories in Riverside California debited my card for 28.87. A company in which I've never seen or heard of and the bigger question here would be how do these people get my information. When I call NetSpend about it they told me to cancel my card and for an express fee of $25 once again they would ship me out a new card. They also told me to file a claim and that they would look into it and get back to me and that I will have to keep calling them to find out the status of my situation.

    When asked about my refund they said that could take anywhere from one to two weeks and I can only receive the refund once the status goes from pending to posted but yet I'm still out of money. The way this sounds to me is no one at NetSpend is doing any type of investigation nor their job and that I may have to take this a step higher to receive any refunds that are due to me. So yes if you asked me NetSpend is a big scam.

    Stay away from this fraudulent so called 'company'. I got this card at Stop & Shop for my daughter, to assist her through College, putting $100 on it, right at the checkout at S&S. We created an account and activated it that very same evening, waiting in anticipation for the 'real' card to arrive a few days later. Nothing happens for two weeks, and my daughter tries to use the temporary card to gas up her car, just to find out that the card is rejected(!). So I call their (so called) Customer service, who confirms that the card was "never really activated"...

    Here is where the REAL 'fun' starts. They claim they were not able to confirm her IDENTITY, although having name, DOB, address and SSN (!). Furthermore, they will NOT speak to me, but insists to have my daughter on the line. Well, my daughter does not live with me, so I ask HER to call them back. She was treated very rudely. In the end, having all the information they now have, they finally asked her to E-MAIL THEM A PHOTO OF HER SOCIAL SECURITY CARD.

    Naturally she did not feel comfortable with this. Not to mention that this is now the FIFTH interaction with these people over the phone, in the same afternoon. I eventually lost my patience and called their Cust Service again, to although calm and collected, air my concerns and utter frustration. "I am sorry Sir but we have to follow our procedures." This although they NOW have ALL the information they can ask for. So I had enough and asked for a refund of the $100 that was initially deposited on the card, and to close our account. They can not do that, other than with my daughter being on the line to confirm that she wants a refund(!) Stay away from this fraudulent activity. I will tomorrow inform Stop & Shop where I bought the card and also Rite Aid pharmacy that they should cut ties with this fraudulent company ASAP. There was a long time since I have ever been this frustrated.

    This company stole money and told me my card expired when it says good through 09/22. This was for my kids and their chores so they can have fun with their friends. They locked my account online and wanted all my personal information. Way too sketchy for a reloadable prepaid card. Never again!!!! And not to mention the foreign person on the customer service side who wouldn’t even say his name. What kind of operation do you guys run? I would give you a 0 but it won’t let me. So beware of this scam and company.

Netspend is the card for you. Not only do you get to pay near $5 to have it loaded did you get to pay a dollar every single time you use it. Netspend really cares about you staying in poverty never having that dime to spare. They they will put it in their pocket so it's not in yours and you'll never worried over it. Netspend it is a company that cares about you staying impoverished. So if living in poverty is for you all means get your Netspend card today. That's my take on it. That's been my experience.     My name is Roger **, I went to get some money out the bank for my car insurance. NetSpend locked my account. I called and they've sent me to three to four reps and a supervisor. They hone tell me to send in documents to prove I'm not a fraud when I gave them my social and phone number. I'm pissed because I work hard for my money and they don't have the right to keep someone from spending their money. I want corporate number and I have bills to pay that they gonna have me late on. So they tell me they gonna mail me a check. I need my money now. So if you thinking about getting NETSPEND think twice before doing so.

    I took a check that I received from State Farm to Check n Go to be cashed. Check was for 264.99$. After after fees from check cashing was less than that. Upon activation of my NetSpend card I find out that I'm not eligible for a card and that a refund check will be sent. This was On 08-12-19. It's now 08-17-19. I called and no refund check has been made yet????

    I got a different rep 3 times. I was on hold for a total of 45 minutes. One of the reps sent to me to an automated system. I called to get the status of two cards. One is personal. One is for business. I say they both have my business address and been that way for years. The last rep tells me my card is blocked due to I have a business address. Next! I don't have time for lack of listening skills and lack of customer service. Do not accept a business address for almost five years and then block it without letting a customer know. Very unprofessional. The early deposits are convenient but I wait an extra day or two for quality service.

    I am 74 years old. I got a Netspend card after my checking account was hacked and most of my money taken. The bank closed my checking to protect me. Netspend was a god send because now I can pay my bills from home. I can even transfer money from my savings account. It's a debit card with my name on it and use it as such. I have been reluctant to do any direct deposits. Netspend continuously sends me messages how easy it is to deposit checks with their app. Now the bank only lets me do 6 transfers a month from my savings; and it can take up to 3 days. I always have to keep that in mind because outside of banking hours I can't get cash. Friday I didn't make it to the bank, but as luck would have it I received a check from the class action lawsuit against BP. I verified it was a legitimate check and I can cash it at my grocery store. But I was really tired, have no food and no ride to the store.

    I take up Netspend on their check depositing service. I get the app. I follow the direction. Take pictures of the front and back. They review it. Then ask me would I like to have the cash in minutes by paying $5 or I can wait 10 days. I'm 74, I'm tired, hungry, no cash on me. Heck yes, $5 that's a deal. The check was approved, the deal was finalized except for one small detail. I now must put VOID in large letters on the check and send them a picture. I did, only to have them then send a message, "We have reconsidered it and are unable to cash your check." They tell me I will need to contact the company that wrote the check and have them reissue it because now my check is no good. 10 minutes ago I had the option of walking to the store, cashing my check, getting some food, then taking a cab home. Now I don't have any options but to wait until Monday to go to the bank to get money to buy food.

    Who knows how long it will take to get a new check if at all. I immediately emailed Netspend, to let them know that cannot be legal. Once they tell me to void my check they need to follow through with their end of the agreement. I'm expecting someone to call me back and make it right. But instead I got a message saying my account is bc being closed. So even the money that I had set up to be transferred is now going to be stuck in limbo. I can't believe that they can get away with this. I am a senior citizen still working, first Equifax fails to protect me. Then my bank totally adds to it by canceling my checking saying it for my protection.

    Now Netspend basically invites me to deposit the only funds available for 2-3 days then tricks me into destroying it, and then closes my account because I took offense to it. I hate them and all banks right now. P.S. Please excuse my spelling and punctuation. I'm made writing as fast as I can. I hope if other people have gone through this we can get a class action lawsuit against Netspend.

    I’m a truck driver and I have used NetSpend as my debit/credit access money thing since around 2003. I cringe to call NetSpend because I would get somebody who’s gonna tell me that her name is Elizabeth in some strange, twisted Punjabi dialect. I hate call centers overseas. I don’t begrudge anybody overseas making a living but we have enough people in United States that could use a job. Also, we have a different way of life and a different way of speaking in the United States. So, there’s a language barrier. Moreover, when I’m speaking to an American, I can get what I want quickly. I don’t have to go through six layers of apologies, which is what you get when you talk to these people. It seems like every other word is an apology and that’s the worst of it.

    There is also an issue where I am right in the middle of buying a house and Quicken Mortgage said that they needed a traditional bank statement that has the bank’s name on the top or on the last page of the printed statement that says who I am. However, it is difficult to obtain a statement from the phone. The only time I can get a statement is if I open up a computer and go online. I have to go online and the only statement I can get for Quicken is from my debit card. I’m happy to have it but when I actually found how to get it, that wasn’t easy. Nonetheless, Quicken accepted that. However, I don't have a checking account with paper, so when some of the things came about that were necessary to facilitate the purchase on the house, the NetSpend thing didn’t work quite so good.

    My company loads the card and over the course of years, I get the money. My paycheck fluctuates generally from 300 to 600 or 3,000 to 6,000, but the overdraft thing wouldn’t hurt my feelings to be available to somebody like me, because I direct deposit my paycheck into the account. Then, my card has ran out and I need a new card. I don’t know who they get their cards from, but they need to get them from somebody better because they’re worn out right after the first swipe.

    I went to McDonald’s with a brand new card and it would not work. The girl grabbed a hold of my card, took a regular Scotch Tape and put it over the mag stripe. I know better than to do that, but I couldn’t stop her as it happened that fast. Now, it works every time in McDonalds but it doesn’t work everywhere else. Overall, with the exception of customer service and the way they give me a hard way to go in trying to get to somebody in the United States, I'd recommend NetSpend all the way.

The name was simple enough we had to look closely at it. We never asked for it and it’s a prime way someone could use your identity. Shady practices.

    I unfortunately received this card as a birthday gift in June. I have yet to be able to use it, because it is impossible to activate it! Every card that I have ever gotten has been a matter of going online, typing in the number and done. This one requires registration, social security numbers and all personal information. I refuse to give out my personal information to activate a gift card-really???! I called previously and was told that it was activated via phone. But again--- not!!!!     This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with! My friend bought a Netspend prepaid card as a gift for me and put $50 on it. When I called to activate it I found out there were two options: A) I could get limited access and use it in stores only. B) I could get full access and use it wherever and however I wanted. I was going to use it to pay a bill online so I decided to go with option B.

    I got sent to a customer service representative who told me that he would need some information about me to activate the card. He started asking the usually questions like name and phone number. Then the questions got a little more personal like my address, birthday, and then social security number. I told him I didn’t want to give out all of that and why would they need that to activate a prepaid card? He told me the government required it. I hesitated but needed to pay the bill so I gave him the information. He put me on hold while he put my information in. Ten minutes later (still on hold) I was hung up on. I called back several times and couldn’t get a real person on the line.

    So I tried again in the morning. When I got to a real person they told me I could go online and put my info in so I wouldn’t have to give it over the phone. I agreed and went to their website. When I typed my card in it told me access denied. I called back and tried again. When I reached someone (which I swear was the same guy from last night) I gave him my information and he put it in. Then he told me I would have to send proof documentation of my identity (birth certificate, social card). I said, "No! Are you kidding me? I have to give all of my personal information to you and send you personal documentation just to use the stupid card that was given to me as a gift?!?! No. No. No."

    I thought about it and decided to do the limited option so I could use it in stores and just by another prepaid with it. So I was put on hold again to change it over and when he came back on the line he told me that there was a block on my card and I couldn’t do the limited option. So because I won’t give you my personal information that you could steal my identity with I can’t use the card? He said he would send a refund that would be here in 7-10 business days. I’m not holding my breath.

    Oh, also when I asked again why they needed so much personal info the lady told me that it was because of the government and money laundering through prepaid cards. What? What kind of company is this?? My friend clearly didn’t know that you had to basically sell your first born to use the card or she wouldn’t have purchased it. Maybe it’s different when you are actually using it as a bank card, I don’t know. I will never get another one of these for myself or anyone I know. They really need to put on the box that they require so much.

    This company is useless. I bought a debit card while on the road work because there is no Chase banks near Sturgis SD and I needed to pay bills. I was told by 2 employees that my card was restricted and they needed to verify my id and that I could send my driver's license in and that would be acceptable because I don't have my social security card on me while on the road working. After sending my id in the second time because the first person I talked to gave me the wrong info to send it to their reply was that they needed to see my social security card and mail from my home. Nothing close to what the other 2 employees stated.

    To get my money off this card I have to shut it off and have them mail me a check which takes 7 to 14 days... don't purchase this card. There are many other companies that tell you what they actually need and don't lie cause they don't know their job... It put me in a bind so unless you wanna get stuck with a useless card and wait for your money to be mailed back to you don't use this company.

    I was working for The B-12 Store and they no longer wanna do the paper check.     I had an issue with a fraudulent charge made on my debit card. The purchase was made out of state. I explained this to Netspend who then told me to file a claim and order a new card. I was told the claim could take anywhere from two weeks to 45 days or more. I filed on July 5, 2019. I called back on August 2, 2019 to find out the status of my claim and was informed that I needed to file a new claim. I feel like they are playing games with my money and giving me the run around. I will no longer be doing business with them and I don't recommend you do either.

    A customer service rep had locked my card due to an unauthorized purchase. I was extremely upset. Everything I had was on that card. I talked to another customer service rep and supervisor. They did what they could to rectify the situation, waived the fees it would cost for a replacement card and to top it off they sent my card through UPS to assure that I would receive my card.     These cards are nearly impossible to activate, require hours of work - including submitting a utility bill, a government issued id, etc. This is a reckless invasion for a simple reloadable card. No major store should sell these - the outside package falsely proclaims the ease of activation, including "no surprises." That is not true. No one should purchase these cards for any purpose.

    I've had NetSpend for two years. It's been decent...nothing special, but nothing to complain about, until today. Three or four months ago my debit card gave out, So I called in a replacement and chopped up my old one. Today a dozen charges showed up on my statement from the other side of the country. (They know where I live) I was not notified of this even though there were about about 10 denied withdrawal fees. I had to find out myself when my card was declined at the grocery store.

    I called customer support, turns out they didn't cancel my old card when they sent me a new one. The customer service rep said they don't normally cancel old cards when they send out a new one...First of all, that's idiotic. Second of all, I remember explicitly requesting that the old card had been cancelled. They assured me it had. As the conversation with the rep continued she explained to me the money has to come out of my acct first, then I can file a "claim." So basically when my next check deposits, they will take the money from me (which the know was stolen) and I have to fight to get it back. Which is sure to be an arduous process with their lackluster customer service. Moral of the story...I cannot wait to take my business elsewhere.

    NetSpend was just a card that was available at the time and I needed one. I picked it up at a grocery store and I have been dealing with them for quite some time. It’s a decent card. I just switched accounts and got a new card but I’ve been using their services for eight years. The reload locations are not freely listed and I don’t know where they are so I usually go to a store to deposit money into it. Most of the time, it’s just a wait of 15 minutes.

    I talked to the reps at NetSpend before when I had an issue with my card. I’ve had this last card for the last several years and they cancelled it because of a $4 bill. I didn’t know who it came from. I was paying a water bill but the water bill got paid through another company. When the rep called me, I didn’t know who he was talking about. I found out the next day but it was a day too late. Then, it took me too weeks to get a replacement card. Within that two weeks, I had no access to my money. I had to go and find my son, who just happened to have a NetSpend card on his own that was active. So, I had him transfer my money to his but it’s really not an option that should be given to a customer. It was an inconvenience, but it didn’t matter. I’ll still keep the card anyway. I’m satisfied with my experience with NetSpend.

    I recently joined my direct deposit to Netspend on my wife’s account considering she had it for years without problem. Last Friday 7/26/19 I was supposed to be paid and never received the direct deposit. Turns out Netspend put my money into someone else’s account!!! I called Friday, Monday, Tuesday and this morning and nobody can provide answers. They keep giving me the woman’s name of the account my check is in and her account number telling me I must be related to this person. Ugh!!!

    So guess what tomorrow is... rent is due... and my check is in someone else’s account and Netspend refuses to give me a supervisor and they keep telling me they can stop payment and send it back to my employer which apparently takes 6 days on Netspend end and then another 7-10 business days for my employer to get me my check in paper form. I’m sick over this ordeal and I wish I could talk to someone who would put an action plan together but all I get are people who read a script, put me on hold and then disconnect me- if you value your hard earned money do not use Netspend!!!

    I got NetSpend and I like it because of the points that I get with Speedway when I do reloads and direct deposits. I actually get free gas, which is wonderful. The only downside with NetSpend is over the last few years, I’ve had issues and disputes that I’ve had to call the dispute department at NetSpend. I don’t know if they changed their dispute department or the way they’ve handled their customer service in disputes, but that needs work. Other than that, I use the card for online purchases and for paying bills for the most part, except sometimes when I'm not able to use it to make purchases ‘cause they won’t accept it. The direct deposit is an easy process, too.

    I took $200 out the atm on Friday. I used my card again at Coat Factory. My total was $101.69 then I used my card at Family Dollar. I spend $197.66. On Sat I went to Ace check checking and took off $300. I tried to use my card and it told me I exceeded my spending limit. I called Netspend and they told me I could use my card after 12:01am. I then tried the next day around 8am at an atm and it said the same thing. That I exceeded the spending limit. I called Netspend and was told the systems were down. I tried an atm later and it still said I exceeded my limit.

    I began using Netspend about 9 years ago when I was receiving a tax refund and the card was offered for a faster return. Since then I've used the card daily. I have my weekly direct deposits sent into this account as well as other loans and transactions. Now 2 weeks ago a loan was deposited and I used these funds to pay for some expenses. My regular paycheck went into my account like normal and everything was fine for another 6 days. Suddenly I'm at the gas station with a balance of over 1000 and my 30.00 purchase is declined. I received an email saying to contact customer service because there may be a problem with my account.

    After over an hour and speaking with a rep and a supervisor I now have to send them proof of id social security card and address. I've already provided this info and they mailed both cards you this address. This is not the biggest problem. The biggest issue is they may take 5 business days to review the documents I've already provided 3 times over the past 9 years. I couldn't pay for my gas and if it truly takes 5 days my direct deposit will be voided from work. I'll be unable to pay my rent and car payment resulting in my car being shut off and all because I have more money in the account than usual. I was a bit upset when I called but the rep laughed when he said there was nothing he could do and they could hold my money indefinitely and the Supervisor tole me they'll get to it when they get to it and I'll just have to deal with it.

    I wish I hadn't trusted Netspend With my money. They were problem free and I recommended them to everyone I knew. I'm so embarrassed and I pray my friends and family get their money out before this happens to them too. I also asked the Supervisor for a corporate contact number and I was told they do not have a number just an email. What kind of corporate office doesn't have a number to call? I feel very cheated and I truly hope this is resolved right away and NetSpend is able to restore my faith in their services as I truly have always loved having them for my banking needs without having to have a traditional bank account.

    I was tired of banks taking my damn money. I tried NetSpend and I have my card for about 10 years now. It's easier to manage my finances with it and I get my disability check early. Though sometimes I don't get it on time and I'd be really mad. I also don't like the 9.95 a month fee because I've used it for so long. And recently, I had somebody steal my account information off my card and they used it on Amazon. They were only two hours away from where I stood but I was using my card at the same time. But NetSpend gave my money back.

    Hi, I just wanted to say that I have never been able to use my account, it's been locked for no reason, which is very stressful. I called the number on the back of my card and it does nothing to help. Please, instead of using automated voice calls, please actually talk to your customers. My account has been locked for no reason. No reason at all. NetSpend, please let me know WHY I have been locked and how how I can get back in.

    Netspend is the best prepaid card to have. You get your money early and you can’t spend anything you don’t have. You don’t have to worry about being in debt with overdrawn purchases. I have had the card since 2010 and what I like about it is that I get paid on Fridays but I actually get my deposit on Tuesday night. That’s the number one reason why I stayed with them for so long because I get my money before time. I also love that I could pay the $5 monthly fee and I can use the card as much as I want to. When you go to other companies, they charge ¢60 or ¢25 when you’re using your card. Plus, dealing with their customer service has been wonderful. Whatever problem I have, they always seem to resolve it quickly.

    I just wasted an hour on the phone (54 minutes of that hour was me sitting on hold waiting for the rep to get a manager) with customer service. On 7/1 I changed to the Monthly Fee Plan for $9.95 and Netspend deducted that $9.95 from my account. No problem. After making my initial deposit and planning out my bills that night, I realized that the amount of transactions I would be running is far less than 10 and at $1.00 per transaction for the Pay As You Go plan, I decided that the Pay As You Go plan makes more sense.

    Since Netspend had already taken the $9.95 for the month of July, I was already covered for all transactions this month. I logged into my account online and changed over to the Pay As You Go plan so that I didn't forget to change it for August around the end of July. Proactive, right? Fast forward a couple of days and I made some purchases knowing how much was in my account and what I could spend and my last purchase of the day was declined for Insufficient Funds. I logged in and saw that my balance was $3 less than what should be in there and I noticed that Netspend had started charging me per transaction...so far $1.00 for one sale and $2.00 for another.

    I called in to customer service because as I mentioned before, Netspend had already collected my $9.95 for the monthly plan on 7/1 which was to have zero fees assessed for any transactions until 7/31. When the rep got on the phone and researched the issue she said that when I switched to the Pay As You Go plan a few days after my fee for the Monthly Plan was taken out of my acct, the system put the Pay As You Go Plan into effect immediately rather than being sophisticated enough to recognize that I had already been assessed the monthly fee and instead have the plan change take affect for fee assessment after the month was over.

    I explained as a consumer, I reasonably assumed that a financial institutions system that is responsible for assessing and collecting fees would have been able to recognize what fees were already paid for and that full services were not rendered yet for that $9.95, nor was I given a refund for the $9.95 before or at the time of changing to the Pay As You Go Plan, so the fees should have begun on 8/1. So I then said, no issue, just please credit back the $9.95 since the Pay As You Go is what I prefer and fees on that plan were already being assessed as well.

    Here is the moment where I became absolutely dumbfounded. The rep proceeds to tell me that after I paid the $9.95, since I chose to switch the plan to PAYG to be proactive for next month, they are allowed to start charging on the new plan right away and I have now forfeited the $9.95 fee I paid to cover 30 days of transactions with zero fees. Netspend would NOT be refunding any fees to my account.

    I made it very clear this is not ethical and possibly not even legal to charge a consumer a fee, not provide the full services for that fee, and not refund that fee but charge the consumer what is essentially a duplicate fee. I paid for unlimited transactions for a month. I was also charged per transaction. And I am being told zero refunds will be issued to me. I will be looking into this further as a legal issue. This message is right now simply information for current or future Netspend users.

    It is such a shame that hundreds of us put our trust into these prepaid cards banks, everything was running smoothly as if I had my own checkings, just like any other bank you entrust them with your life savings...The minute something so simple as a Refund to my account for a tool that cost me several thousands! I made the mistake of using Netspend to trust with the refund money. They completely froze my accounts and the thousands of dollars I had chosen to trust them with. I spoke to many representatives. Was told 24 hours to fix the problem then I was told that proof of the refund (receipt) was not valid although I had the merchant on the other line with them trying to help with the transactions to resolve the issue. Didn't get me anywhere. Now I'm going homeless. Thanks to Netspend and I’m left with no moneys to feed my children.

    Have had nothing but problems trying to use my Netspend Visa prepaid card. First they charge you to load money onto it then they charge you for every transaction. I paid 43 dollars the other day and went to Ross and tried to use my card. It would only let me use $33.90. I took the merchandise back two days later and Ross credited my accountants $21.23. I then tried to use my card at Sally's and it declined. I called Netspend's number and was told I have 21.33 on my card I could use. I went to Walmart and tried to make a purchase of under $20 and again it was declined. I will never put another dime on this card. In my opinion they stoled my money. BEWARE PEOPLE!!! THEY ARE SO DISHONEST.

    I've seen Netspend on a TV ad, and when I was working, my employer recommended it. I opted for Netspend because I had trouble with regular banks. My bank accounts were always getting hacked, so I didn't know if I was gonna get paid the same day or what was happening. Using Netspend now, I know where exactly the money's going and when it's coming in. It's also good when used to pay bills and make purchases online because I don't have to worry about anything. If I have a problem, I can call and they take action immediately. I don't have to do certain things like a regular bank. I have access to my statements online, and I'm able to use their reload locations, too. It's an easy process and they're right off the block. I only go to one of the locations because the other two take up to two days when you load the card. With the one that I go to, it's on your card within 15 minutes.

    The only thing is that today, I had a problem because the card got damaged. There was a magnetic strip on the back that was scraped. When I received the card, the lady asked if I was able to use it and I said it was alright. However, it's now to the point where you have to put a bag on it in order to swipe it, and it's not doing it. And everything now is just swipe, as Netspend is still in the process of going with the chip. I was told the card can be replaced without a charge to me, it's just that I have to wait 7 to 10 business days. I need it as quickly as possible because I had to go to the doctors and everything, but then I have no choice.

    I have been a customer of Ace for almost 3 years. I have had more problems with customer service since they merged with NetSpend than I can handle. And this last one took the cake. I asked to speak to a Supervisor because on March 14 of this year I received a letter saying that they charged off my account for not paying my overdraft for 90 days. I was livid. Impossible. I told them considering I am on Social Security and receive 2 deposits monthly. I had to argue for a week just to get someone to actually hear the words I was speaking and look into the matter instead of chiming on and on about my poor financial habits that if I don't pay it back within 24 hours they have a right to shut off my account???? What?!

    Finally got that resolved and I asked this isn't going to happen again anytime soon, and here it is 2 months later and I received another letter that they have temporarily deactivated my account. Spoke with a Supervisor that refused to hear that my SSDI deposit will cover the overdraft and she needs to look at the policy they advertise online and she proceeded to look through my transactions and scold me about my poor financial habits having no clue what she is talking about but ridiculed me as I am telling her I am on social security and have a terminal illness.

    I use PayPal so my friend can buy me groceries and informed her that she was looking at a lawsuit as she tells, "If that is your wish." I said, "Yes, I am done." Worst customer service and she actually used my purchases to demean me and laughed at the fact that I have little means because I live month to month on Social Security for what's left of my life. If I thought I had the time left I would sue them, but it's not worth my peace.

    I have used my NetSpend card to pay bills or make purchases online and it’s been very inconvenient. They would charge me if I do something online, on the point of sale. They also have a monthly charge if you don’t spend a certain amount, if you don’t have direct deposit or any of that. And when I did something through 1800 Flowers, it was a horrible experience. They refunded my money, but NetSpend would not give my money back. They said that 1800 Flowers had to send this, had to say that, and had to put on a letterhead. But they clearly saw 1800 Flowers give the transaction number and 1800 Flowers did all of what they asked but NetSpend said they never received the letterhead, so I had to keep calling 1800 Flowers again to get it.

    After about three weeks, NetSpend finally gave my money back. But it was only supposed to take a couple of days. They have horrible customer service, too. When I spoke to their reps, they had a very nasty attitude and kept transferring me here and there. Aside from that, I have nothing against anyone of any other nationality but I couldn’t get anyone to speak good English, so there was a broken language barrier right there.

    Filed a claim almost a month ago. Waited 2 weeks and still there was no update on my case. Was told I need to fill out additional paperwork and fax it in. (Just another way of them delaying the process) Completed the paperwork. Fax it in. Was told I would have an update in 10 days. If they couldn't complete their investigation in ten days and needed more time they will give me a provisional credit and let me know they need more time. Well it's been almost 45 days and I'm still waiting to get my hard earn money back. It doesn't take them long at all to charge you an overdraft fee, yet it taking them forever to give me my money back. Stay away from NetSpend. They are known for this stress.

    I have previously posted a review here detailing my issues with Netspend delaying my direct deposits. The issue seemed to be fixed with my next two direct deposits, however, yet again, my paycheck is nowhere to be found. I’m not even going to bother calling customer service because all I ever get from them is a bunch of ** non-answers. I’m so beyond done with this company I can’t even see straight.     Since January I have received my check in the Tuesday before my actual payday which is Thursday at 12:06 pm. It’s now 7:49pm and I haven’t been paid yet.     OK so I recently had to dispute a duplicate charge on my account. My credit card payment went through twice instead of a single payment. I noticed the issue, called my credit card company and they didn't see two payments on their end. I knew to call them first because I worked for Chase for years, always call the merchant first. So next step was to call Netspend.

    I called and told them the issue, filed a claim and was told I had to wait 10 days to get results from the claim but I could get a provisional credit up until the dispute was settled. I did what was told to me by the representative, my request for provisional credit was received as well. I called to see why I still do not see the credit in my account and the representative stated I cannot get the credit until 10 days after I submitted the request. Whattt??? This makes no sense. The time frame to receive the credit is the same time frame to receive the disputed amount. So now I'm stuck with no money at all! I have a kid to feed and a job, with no gas and no other means until I get paid next week Friday! Thank you for nothing Netspend. :(

    Bought a Netspend card, at first I loaded $20. Used it once for $8.99. Then my card balance was 0. Then I tried calling. No one answers and all you get is a auto recorded message. Then I add another $22 a charge of $15.99 I did not authorize. I called to customer service. They closed my card. I get a text that I was refunded money. So I try calling customer service again and no real picks up the phone. When I talked to someone before they said I had to wait until they researched it several days to get my money back? Plus they charged me for the transaction? I feel ripped off! They should have immediately refunded my money. I reported them to the Texas State Attorney because I’m a disabled veteran in a wheelchair and that money was for medical medicine I needed.

    Banks charge you $35 if you're 10 cents overdrawn. With NetSpend, they don't do that. Also, you get paid two days faster which I really like. Having it has helped me manage my finances better because if you don’t have any money on the card, you can’t use it. The online features are great, too. One thing I wish they'd bring back is the purchase cushion. We no longer have overdraft protection which really sucks. The online site is all about the rewards, how you get a 10% cashback if you use your card. I really like that. I also really like the FlashPay feature. It’s a really user-friendly system to me. They have all your debits and credits there, and they also have some type of budget system. Though I don’t like that they charge a fee if I want to load the card, I find it very easy to make purchases online.

    My Netspend card account was great until I misplaced my card. Immediately I went into the location where I received the card and was told that I just needed to purchase a new card and transfer my funds. So that is what I did so that I would have access to my funds while I wait for a new card for my original account. I was never able to transfer all of my funds over so I had to make small transfers any time I needed money. Well this worked great until I reached a transfer limit that I was never informed of (also written nowhere on the site).

    I finally got my new card and am trying to merge my accounts. I spoke with one representative that was unable to help at all and now I have been on hold for over an hour to speak with a supervisor. It’s rude and you shouldn’t have to wait this long to inquire about your own money. I am going to cancel my accounts. I do not suggest using their services. The vendors are uninformed and you will wait on the phone for a long time to speak with anyone.

    I buy and card out of a Walgreens store just to load some quick cash to send to my mother who is stranded! And I load the card with 150.00 thinking it will work like any other card...Green Dot etc! NOT!!! I go to active the card. I run into some troubles, so I speak with a representative who had no idea on how to do her job! Then she says in order to activate I have to send a photo ID, Social Security card, and proof of address (Utility bill) WHAT???! I don't want an acct with you. I Just want to use this card to send my mother money since she has Netspend. I immediately ask for a supervisor.... She goes on to say I would need to do so by law.

    I say ok, I can upload my photo ID, and email you my Utility bill, but my social security card burned in a fire so I'm waiting on my new one in the mail. She says "I do apologize but unfortunately we would need it." At this point I just want my money back, so she goes to say, we will send you a paper check within 10 BUSINESS DAYS! EXCUSE ME!!! NO MA'AM. That is beyond unacceptable! Like I HATE THIS STUPID COMPANY and I will neverrrr I repeat neverrr "attempt" to do business with them ever again!

    I’ve had a NetSpend card since 2005 and I’ve had direct deposit ever since. I love my direct deposit because I get paid earlier than everybody else. I tried to sign up for the Flare account, and they said that I couldn’t do it because I had more cards on my account so I just stuck with the ACE. Netspend's team knows me by name and I love them.     I've been using a Netspend card for years, because i hate banks. I always just added money to it for bills or if I wanted to purchase something online. Just today I tried to pay my rent with an e-check (cheapest way to do it). Netspend declined the check for being 4 cents short and charged me a dollar fee on top of it. Not to mention having to load it 3 times. $3.95 charge for each $500, so basically $12 I spent just to load the damn thing. Also keep in mind I have a pending deposit to be added to my account tomorrow. I'm highly upset with this company and i probably will just close my account. No telling how much my landlord will charge for a return check fee. All this over 4 cents, really Netspend?

    I’m supposed to get paid on Friday. Well Thursday at 12 midnight. But with Netspend I’ve gotten it 2 days earlier. I get it on Wed at 4:36 pm every week except for this week. What’s going on? I need my money, I have bills to pay.

    So let me start by saying, if you have a problem...don’t call them. I receive direct deposit the same day, the same hour 80% of the time. But now? My payroll direct deposit is nowhere to be found. I have verified that it has been sent to Meta Bank (Netspend) and Netspend is saying they don’t have it. Obviously someone besides me has it, I’ve verified with my employer that the money has been sent. But Netspend is saying otherwise. I am so sick of this, I’ve reached out to Netspend; they keep giving me the run-around. I’ve emailed and called.

    The debit card was loaded at 12/11/18. To activate the card you have to call 800 number. On 7/9/19 I called and was told that card was expired. It took me a few hours to talk to rep and get card activated, because every time rep put me on hold I was disconnected and had to start over. I was charged $5.95 times 4 for not using a card, even agreement says it can be charged only after 90 days, but in real life it was charged on 60 days. Rep said even it says in Agreement 90 days but they charge in 60 days. When I asked to talk to supervisor he put me on hold for 4 hours. My advice: if you can stay away from this card!!! To place a review I have to provide star-rating and system does not accept zero stars, so I mark one. But my rating is zero!

    I've been with NetSpend since 2006. It was really popular at the time I got it first. I wanted to try it myself and I did, and I was happy with it. But I think they have me as if I just became a member because I got a new card, which I don’t like. But I like the fact that I get my check early. They give like a little $10 spending thing. My girlfriends told me they have a new feature where if you’ve been with them for a while and you have established good direct deposit with them, if you need something like food, if you try to use your card, they will let you use it. But of course, they will charge you. But that would be no different than borrowing money from somebody. Other than that, the NetSpend team have been knowledgeable and helping. I use the card almost everyday and I’ve enjoyed it. I also love the fact that you can customize your card. That makes it really good. I’m waiting on a card to come right now because I lost my NetSpend card.

    Somebody told me about the Western Union NetSpend. He told me to go online, and I went online and found it. I set myself up and got a card. I've been using it ever since, for several years. And I like Western Union. I use them a lot and since NetSpend was partnered with them it made it easy for me do Western Union transfers and also, we receive Western Union transfers and put the tracking number on my log in when I log in. And so the money goes there. I don’t have to go through an agent to get it.

    I also get my direct deposits from there. I get my VA up to five days early and my social security up to two days early. Those are the perks right there and I like it. I've never had any issues. I’ve paid bills, transferred money. The only time I have some issues is when I transferred internationally to Jamaica which is where I have family. And because of the areas being high risk, it’s jammed, deleted, and etcetera. I've had a few of my transfers cancelled to protect me and to make sure that I was all right. But that was the only issue that I've ever had.

    And usually, when I have something like hotel and how you always authorize more money than they should, they usually put the authorization back onto my account within a day, within 24 hours, which is also good, opposed to other cards which take up to three days or longer. The reps were very professional and very knowledgeable. They answer all my questions. And I don’t have a long wait time for them.

    I'm happy with the service. They come right on and if they don’t have the answer to the question, they usually are able to escalate it, and I usually get back a response within another 24 hours also, probably the next business day if it’s on a weekend. I'm really glad that I chose to use NetSpend, and I would definitely recommend it to friends. And I have had it for several years and have had no issues. I can do anything with it that a regular credit card or a debit card could do. I wouldn’t make any changes.

    My Netspend account was closed out. NO WARNING, NO LETTER NOTHING.. It left me stranded not able to get gas for my car and missing 3 days of work so far, NO PAY. My direct deposit from my job was then rejected causing major issues with all of my bills, my mortgage being #1. This is horrible and I will not stand for it, PLEASE HELP. I NEED MY MONEY NOW!!!!

    When I initially contacted Netspend, they wanted me to send in my information, my birth certificate, and social security. So they checked all of the credentials. I use NetSpend all the time. I’ve never had any late payments. Even when there was a issue about a year ago, I didn’t have any delays. My pay has always been on time or two or three days early. Their customer service team is always very helpful. I’ve been with them for well over five years. So, I like it. I also recommend them to people.

    As long as you set up the phone and the email, you can see every time there’s a transaction. So, if someone was trying to tamper with your account, you would know it because you quickly get a text message. And if you put your money in savings, that makes it even harder because they have to go through a couple loopholes to get through. Also, I’ve noticed when I’m travelling, the system notices that I’m out of the state or the place where I’m normally using my phone or laptop, and they’re questioning that and they’ll shut it down, and I usually have to call it. But I appreciate that. It doesn’t cost me any troubles or delays. I kinda like the fact that that happens. Netspend is doing a great job.

    Some people recommended it, so I just signed up for the Netspend debit card. I cannot see any advantage over the debit card I use for my bank checking account. I never have to add anything more than already deposited from my salary and there are no processing fees.

    Put a small amount of money on a card and couldn't use it in store or online and it was activated, never had a problem with prepaid card companies before until I used this company. Won't use these people ever again. 0 stars in my book.

    Do not use this card. I had a an account. I liked the account because I could get my check direct deposited earlier than my actual payday. I recently had my card stolen and reported it. I also filed a dispute claim. I never received my new card. Thank God I had the original card I was sent out with my name on it so it could be used while I waited for my new card. Just 2 days ago they decided to close my account without notifying me. When I called I was told that my account was closed due to suspicious activity. Well no mystery my card was stolen. I have all my money on the card so now I have no money with small children and no gas to get to work, until they send out my check. Oh and I was treated like a criminal and not a customer. Horrible scripted customer service outsourced overseas. PLEASE DO NOT USE NETSPEND. They will put you in a major bind, and it can be life altering!!!!

    Terrible experience. I will never purchase cards from this company again. They are not open 24/7 or on holidays. I purchased 2 cards, one for my daughter and one for my son on 7/4. My daughter needed hers the next day for a trip out of state. I was provided a code and asked to upload a document to establish their identity and a list was provided as to what documents were acceptable - US State Issued ID; Social Security Card; Birth Certificate, etc. I uploaded my son's driver's license with the link provided and it is the next day just after 11am and they are not showing the driver's license and he cannot use the card at all. So their statement that the card will be limited prior to identity is WRONG. You can't use it at all. They had me resend his driver's license by email.

    They told me that since my daughter is under 18 I have to open the account under my name and then have a card issued for her but since I had initially tried to register it under her, they couldn't change it which is absolutely bizarre since we had not used it. So my only option was to have her use it for in-store purchases, NO ATM or NO online purchases. So I paid for a reloadable card yet I cannot use it for anything other than in-store purchases. I spoke to 2 different people when I called, both were foreign and it was difficult to understand them.

    Far Far away, is a place in the forgotten portals of time, where customer service was born. Where people who wanted to make a difference actually are trained to do so. And then, there's Netspend. I've been a loyal customer for 9 years. During that time, I have had overdraft protection. And, I can say that there were times I actually needed it. Netspend came through and the fees were manageable. Not like a regular bank, where you could wind up having numerous fees on top of fees for one transaction gone bad.

    When my account was compromised and someone used my Card Number to make a transaction in another state while I was at work, Netspend alerted me and I was able to find out quickly how to get my money back and I did, and I praised them for it telling people all over the country how glad I was a member card holder of Netspend.

    It's now the 4th of July, 2019. And I can always count on my paycheck being deposited on a Thursday morning, or late Wed evening. It's 7:49 am Thursday Morning, and no check. If I would have known that Netspend wasn't going to deposit my paycheck into my account until Friday, I'd not be writing this. There was no communication to Cardholders that the 4th would delay the early deposits, and knowing ahead of time would have allowed me to get money ahead of time and load it on my card.

    There's more... Most of you may not realize this but, every paycheck you get, must clear the Fed. They call it a clearinghouse, where the money that was paid to you is held for 24 hours to clear with the Federal Treasury. I never knew that the Fed got access to my money for 24 hours..and for what reason? Of course, the FED is closed today, and they all left early Wed at 1pm. So our money is still with the FED waiting to be cleared and then electronically transferred to Netspend to be disbursed to account holders.

    Why does the FED have to hold our money? THEY MAKE MONEY OFF OF IT.... I was told that it was for my protection... Let's see.. I earned it, and the company I work for paid me... What am I being protected from? I think that someone needs to make a video explaining the stupid crap that happens, so that us little pilgrims earning our small wages, can have better ways of knowing ahead of time what to do, if Netspend and the FED want to make money off my money at their convenience.

    I always get my direct deposits by 11:00pm Eastern. My workers comp was supposed to be deposited 7/3 and it’s now 3:20 on 7/4 and now my holiday plans are cancelled because I didn’t get my deposit. I verified that the payment was sent out in time.
