Managing my finances is going good since using my Netspend card. It helps me spend responsibly. I use the reload locations and it’s not that bad. But I'm locked out of Netspend. It has something to do with PayPal. They're saying there's something fictitious with the card with what I had done.

They need more people that can understand English answering the phones when you gotta call and check on balance. Other than that, working with Netspend has been okay so far.

Netspend closed my account due to a suspicion. They didn't even discuss it with me to let me know that they were doing it. They told me that they sent them to the people for a reason and I’ve never heard back since. I've been trying to get that account opened so I can continue to use Netspend, but the reps say they can't open it. When making a check deposit, I take a picture of the front of the check, put the amount and send it on the Netspend app. They’re gonna verify from their bank to my bank and if it clears, then I have the money on the same day for about a $10 fee or I could just wait the 10 to 12 days and get everything free. But that was great on their part. The Anytime Alerts is good. It lets you know if you're using the card or not or there's somebody else using the card.

I've had fraud several times on my card and they were very quick in giving me a replacement and taking care of the issue. I use Anytime Alerts and account transfers and they're very convenient. Netspend has been great.

I reached out and I also ordered a new card and received it but the thing is is someone had access to my account while I was incarcerated in Johnson County Kansas and I wanted to place fraud on all transactions because I never knew my friends would even be going to this account and I didn't know that until after the funds are already pretty much vanished and from talking to customer service but nothing has been transpired for that. No one has called me in regards to that and here I am supposed to give you guys a review and I really don't have anything to review before except for why have I not received fraud on the account to where the friends would stop being process for whoever is using my account.

I liked Netspend and I thought I would try it, and my experience has been good. I use it for everything like online purchases, gas, and to pay bills. The Anytime Alerts tells me every time money comes out. It's very convenient. As far as reloading, you can go to General Dollar or Family Dollar, and tell them you wanna load money on your card. As soon as you give them the money and they give you the receipt, the money's in your account. The Netspend reps were good. I called, asked a question, and they led me through the process and everything worked out.

I use the Netspend card for online shopping, everyday purchases in stores and ATM withdrawals. The features are convenient. To reload, go into Walgreen and tell them if you wanna put $100 on your card or anything that's under $5,000, and they'll put it right onto your card within two hours. Dealing with the customer service team was easy and quick. Netspend is a good card. They don't charge you a lot of money or they don't even charge at all sometimes.

The guy who talked to me about Netspend told me everything I wanted to know. That was a very good experience and it has been ever since. I like the way it shows how much I spend and how I have it set up on my phone. I have a password, just to check if I miss something or if I'm unsure. I go put in my PIN number and can get all that information from there. I keep track of everything on my log and I love the reminders. Also, their page is very informative.

I like Netspend. I use it because I know my money is gonna be there a day before it's supposed to be there. I also like direct deposit and not having to go to the bank. If I have a problem with my card, they take care of it right away. Customer service is good to me.

When I had a couple of questions, the customer service seemed like they had well knowledge of how to resolve it. But when I had to call one time because somebody hacked my card or hacked into an account, it seemed like the customer service didn’t care about anything like that. Maybe they were having a bad day and I just called them at the wrong time. I only had that one bad experience. But after that, I haven't had any problem since. I don't have anything linked to my Cash App now but I still have the last card. If I decide to put any money on it, it's maybe 50 bucks at the most. I'm quite content with Netspend. I like the no monthly fee and being able to put money onto it.

I do a lot of online shopping. So, it's safer to use a Netspend card than use a normal debit card for me. The thing about Netspend is if they find any funky business going on, they'll notify you. If they determined that fraudulent activities happened, they will help you get your money back or reimburse you. Using my Netspend card makes things easier for me. The Anytime Alerts notify you of any suspicious activity. So, if there's any suspicious activity, you can go in and lock your card or call Netspend and suspend services on your card. Then, they'll send you a new one.
Now, I do everything more smarter. If I put $250 on my card, every time I make a purchase, I got a text stating how much I spent, if it's pending, whatever was going on that the money is being held or pending. So, I always know how much money is there. Also, another thing I like about the Netspend card is that it's just better because it's not linked to your banking account. If something happens, you're taken care of. I love Netspend. I like the ease of being able to make purchases without worrying about major withdrawals coming out of my banking account. I do reload. I go to my local CVS or Walgreens, and I'm able to reload fairly easily.

It was cheaper to get direct deposits than to cash my checks. I like Netspend. It's really good and it's easy to use the online website. I like the online banking and the text message alerts. The Netspend team has always been able to answer my questions and take care of stuff right away. I would suggest my friends to open their own Netspend account and switch over to Netspend.

I'm doing much better with Netspend than what I did before because I’m not overdrafted. I like the Anytime Alerts because it lets you know what you spend, and what goes in and out the account. They have great customer service reps. They're kind and they do what they can to resolve your problems.

Netspend has been my go-to solution. I use Anytime Alerts. I use the reload location. It's a half a mile from my house. I go over there and give them cash. The card has been extremely convenient. I had an international purchase that I was trying to make. Netspend is internationally authorized and I have no problem with it. It's worked great. I like the idea that I only pay the fee when I use the card. There's another option. For 9.95 a month, I can get everything covered, but I use it very rarely. Netspend is easy to use locally and internationally.

I had a problem with the overdraft fees. They just took the account from me for a month. They said I can't use it until June 6th. I've been with them for so many years and I don't understand why would they do that to me.

I like the fact that I get paid four days early with Netspend. But I had a couple of issues with the card company at first. I had some charges a few months back, but they weren't my charges. I told them I do not own an iPhone. They took care of it. But it took them a little while to send me the replacement card 'cause my card was compromised. When I moved into my place, my rent was due, and I'm glad the landlord cut me some slack. Also, when you call them, you gotta wait to be connected with somebody live to talk your problems and not an automated service which I don't like. Then they always give me somebody that doesn't speak very good English. Netspend could be more helpful if they give me somebody that speaks English, not broken English.

I filed for taxes and they asked me if I wanted it on a card and I picked Netspend. It's been good. I just have the direct deposit. As soon as the government kicks that check out, they've got it coming and they don't mess around. The other day, I got paid and I got the message telling me that my money was deposited and I have this much. Several hours later, I got the text saying that it was being processed. As soon as they do it, then they'll tell me. Netspend contacts me if there was something that was going on that they thought was shaky. It was always straightened out right away.

Having Netspend, I'm more aware of what I spend now. I use mainly the direct deposit options. I load it every so often but sometimes their system is down or, if you're trying to put more than $500, you have to do it in two different increments. That's frustrating. Other than that, Netspend is better than banking with normal banks. It's less stressful.

My direct deposit has always been two days earlier with Netspend. Now, they have it where you could put the card on your phone and just tap it like Apple Pay. Even just to transfer money, it's quick too and easy. I like the Anytime Alert. It tells you when something went through or your direct deposit is in. I like that it tells you how much you have left on your card too.

I use Netspend for my disability. It is a lot easier than using cash. As far as reloading, my uncle does a Western Union to me to go directly to the card. I use it to make purchases, which is a million times easier than having to go out and chase things down. I use it for paying bills if I have to instead of going out and having to get money orders. I love getting notifications. The reps have also been definitely helpful.

I kept getting alerts about a card ending in ** having issues. This was the second time that I had called customer service about this same issue. I had gone online to access my account to try and figure out what was going on. I found that my last name was spelled wrong. I advised the rep of this and she went into account and corrected it. She advised me that she would send me a new card. Hopefully, the problem is fixed. I never had a card ending in **.

A month ago my card was blocked due to a fraud alert, I have suffered untold numbers of calls, and insistence that I get a new card, been hung up on. I don't think I'll ever get all of my money back. You've put so many cards on me. It's more confused than I can handle, it was a perfectly run shell game w people who's accent I can't understand. I have been swindled out of at least $1000, not to mention what it cost me to do business w/out a card and I am now afraid to use my card and afraid of NetSpend

Made several transfers to Juno without any issues very nice. I've had no problems so far and am very happy. This type of service is what I love to recommend to other I know. Debit card transfers are what makes me stay with NetSpend for the long term.

Netspend is the best card ever. Finances are paid at the beginning of the month. And with Netspend, it helps me do that. As soon as they put it on the card, it's there within seconds. Once you program it to do what you want it to do, it doesn't go off track like the other cards. Also, I'm constantly informed on wrongs or rights, and bills are paid. I have been telling people about this card.

NetSpend wanted me to verify my identity. I sent all the documents required to have my identity verified and they kept sending requests back saying they weren't good enough, pictures weren't good enough, all this and that and so I have yet to be able to actually use my NetSpend account. Even though I had one previously for over 8 years I can't use this new one because they won't take any of the pictures and accept them for verifying my identity so I have given up on your company completely and I have told all my friends about it and I have gotten about 10 people to close their accounts with you and I will continue as long as you guys are continuing to fight me on even getting my account to be able to be useful.

Can not move money from old card to new card. Old card had a dispute which ya'll said will take 90 days or more. Had use card to purchase premium service from UnderGound Weather. They received payment but never allowed me to activate premium service.

This experience has been fraught with frustration after frustration dealing with this bank. Never posts direct deposits early. Do not recommend to employees for that reason alone. Takes more than 2 weeks to resolve simple issues to simple disputes yet 2 seconds to take those fees. Overdraft features are akin to straight up thievery. Customer service sucks. All around experience was nothing more than wasted time, tested patience and ultimately, dealings with unreliability in every single amenity the product bases its entire marketing on. Stay away.

Wow, never have I experienced a more terrible customer experience from a company. I am not a customer; I received a card in the mail addressed to some unknown person (probably a scammer). All I wanted to do was report the issue and have my data removed from their system. This proved to be extremely difficult. First, I tried email support, but they requested the card number over email, which is hugely insecure and a PCI compliance violation. They recommended that I call their customer service, which is an absolute maze of menu options with the apparent goal of making you give up. I did not give up.
I finally found an option that would allow me to speak to someone. This person was largely unintelligible. They requested that I read back the card number to them, and I asked them if the call was being recorded, because that is PCI compliance violation as well. They sounded unsure. They put me on hold and eventually responded that they "would do what they needed to do" with the account. I asked them where they got my data: No coherent response. I asked them what I should do with the card: They didn't know. They apparently have no protocols for 1) Dealing with fraud, and 2) Complying with payment card industry requirements. The FTC should shut these guys down yesterday.

To send and get money is easy. The only problem that I have is Netspend charges almost $4 to load my money onto my card. And I have to pay them to get my money back. Also, sometimes I run through an ** and I have to straighten them out. But for the most part, the reps are knowledgeable and help solve my problems.

I don't have any credit cards and I was told I could use Netspend. It’s prepaid so you don't have to worry about any more expenses. You spend whatever you have on the card. I've had mine for over five years now and the features are good. Where I live, I have a reload place that's very close to my house. The only thing that I don't like is they’ve been increasing to load the money. It used to be free then it became $2. Now, it’s almost $5 just to put money. That doesn't make any sense.

The only thing I use Netspend for is to make online purchases. I just put money on the card from the dollar store. All you gotta do is give the card to the cashier and the cashier would load the money and you just wait for your receipt. It's simple and easy. And it sends you a text that it was deposited in a matter of seconds.

I liked what they were offering so I went with them but I haven't gotten everything that they said they were gonna give me. I’m still getting a $10 overdraft protection and I know other people who got on there years after I did who get up to $100 and $200 overdraft. They keep telling me the same thing year after year, that it'll be open again in January. Also, they can improve posting. If they said the expected date is the 25th, they should put it in there on the 25th.

I went to cash my check and I said that I wanna get a prepaid card. The reps told me to fill up the application for Netspend and said that it was not gonna be just a free card. If I qualify, I’m gonna have access to have an account. The lady gave me good advice. I said that I was gonna need the card and they gave it for free. I try to take care of it and I have it in mind now to open a savings account with the same card. I got the direct deposit and it’s very simple. I just call the customer service any time I need help. I can recommend Netspend to all my friends. I had a wonderful experience with them.

Every once in a while, Netspend will send you something and ask if you approve the purchase. There was one time someone tried to use it for some piddly amount, but I said no and Netspend ended up cancelling that card. They sent me a new one right away. Netspend has been good for me.

I find the features of Netspend convenient. I like that when I make a purchase with my Netspend card, it'll text me. It will let me know that the purchase has been made and that the balance is changed and they also show me what the balance is. The reps have also been very helpful when I've had confusion.

I've been using NetSpend for over five years now. I like that I can get my money when I want it. I also like that I can get paid three days earlier than everybody else. Their customer service was good. People tried and used it. They found out and let me know. They took care of everything and re-issued a card so it couldn't be used again. I appreciate them for that.

When there is ANY activity on my card, I'm notified within seconds, love that. Makes me feel secure, I've never had any issues with any machines not accepting my card, and the monthly rates from Netspend are simply perfect. Thank you for making life just a bit easier on me.

Worst customer support, just took my money. I bought a Visa card from QFC store but it turned out it's tagged with NetSpend which I was not aware of it. To activate the card, I entered the card number, and security code. At last I was asked to enter the pin number, I did which I thought it's to set up as it's my first time. But I kept getting "sorry we couldn't verify..." bla bla from the automated phone systems. What the ... this people are talking about. It's my first time and I should be asked to set up my pin number not to verify it!! Then I called to the customer service 10 times and couldn't help me. What they knew is just transferring me to the automated phone system. Asked the supervisor. She is also knew nothing. It seems like all of them are collections of nothing. Now trashing the card since I lost the receipt. This is the worst situation which I need to carefully check the card I buy in the future.

Low service fees, limit on overdrafts to save overdraft charges. Virtual debit cards if unsure about vendor. Fraud alerts, and fast closure of account when necessary. Easy to use and accepted anywhere Visa is accepted. Can access anytime day or night on Sundays and Holidays.

They got both our phone numbers on file and neither one of us get a text message when there was anything on Richard's card. We're very dissatisfied with that. We shouldn't have to keep calling and giving them our phone numbers, and then he has to call his card in to find out if there are checks on there when they're supposed to send messages to us to let us know but they haven't done that.

Netspend is an excellent company. The service that I receive from Netspend has been phenomenal. Whenever I had a problem, they resolved it automatically. I've always had a good experience with them. So far, they've been great with me. They have recently had some employees that were doing some things that were not good for banking. But I've been with them for several years. They treated me as a client. If I have a problem with Netspend, they have a corporate office that you can call. I had a problem with Lyft. Someone used my Lyft account while I was at work. There was no way I could have been riding in a Lyft. Netspend went in, reversed the charges, and gave me a temporary credit. They have investigated rightfully. But whoever the employees were with Lyft, as soon as they realized that they had given me the thing, they went back and they tried to reverse it. I contacted Netspend again and once again they went into action for me.
If I swipe my NetSpend at Walmart, Target, or anywhere, I'm getting a ching ching on my phone alerting me to exactly how much was taken out and when. When I paid my IRS payment, they made sure that IRS got my money. Even after the IRS called me, they sent me a statement confirming that I had paid all my taxes. Somebody who had my phone and stole my information made copies of all my IRS statements. She tried to divert that to her bank account. When I called the corporate office, I spoke with Eric. Then I spoke with their customer service rep and they said, “You have nothing to worry about because we have clear evidence that that payment that you did every week went directly to the IRS, and they were paid in full out of your bank account.” And that's what you call good banking. With Netspend, you also get your deposit two days early. I recommend them to anybody.

People should use Netspend because it's a good company. Last year, I used it for my direct deposit, for my taxes. With Netspend, nobody can just touch your money without your permission unless you're buying something, and I like that. I can also lock my card if I want to in case Apple thinks they wanna take money off my card. Netspend is way better than a real bank because the bank can just take your money.

From time to time, I lock myself out and put in the wrong password three times. Netspend was understanding. I walk in to 7-Eleven to put money in my card. I tell the clerk I want to do that and hand the card. She asks me the amount. I tell her, plus the 3.94. It's done in five minutes.

I spoke to several individuals about the matter of AceElite card with chip, I was sent a Netspend chip card which was sent twice because of promotional and valuable customer. I like Netspend. I load my card every two weeks at the Speedway to pay my car payment and I always put a little bit more because of the monthly fee. I would tell my friends to go ahead and get it. It works for what I need it for and they've been good. If I need help, I call them and they're there.

I’m going to be very blunt. You need to scrap your automated phone system. It sucks and makes your customers very angry!! That’s why I wouldn’t give you 5 stars. Once I got to a customer service person after being hung up on by your automated phone system at least 4 times, your customer service person was excellent, she answered all my questions and concerns and was very personable. I was very angry from my experience with your automated phone system but she turned my frustration around and my thoughts about your company went from a negative experience to a positive experience because of your customer service lady. She is very good at her profession and y’all are Blessed to have her!!

I thought Netspend was gonna be a good deal at the time but it isn't. They charge me for every little transaction. The first time that I used my card, they charged me, $3 or $4 to make a purchase, through every purchase. But it never said anything like that through the information. I went through most of the fine print seeing if there were gonna be any hidden fees.
If you swipe your card and hit debit or credit, it's still gonna charge you an X amount because you used that card. It doesn't make sense to charge somebody that much money for every transaction. If you had $3 on your card and you went to buy something for $1.50, it would tell you that you had insufficient funds and would instantly take whatever money you had on your card. I had all kinds of problems with it. I would try to set up direct deposit through my work. That was a grueling process. There was one time I was missing $10 out of my account. I had no previous transactions because I called and checked. But they couldn't figure out where the $10 went, and they instantly went to cut off my card.
Netspend is horrible. There is no communication. It's be super hard to understand the reps. They aren't paying attention. I would tell them my exact card number, they would read it back, but they would be missing two to three numbers. I'd go slower, but they would still get it wrong. It was always frustrating that was why I stopped using it. I turned off my direct deposit for my job and threw the card away.

I like Netspend. The only thing I don't like is the charges. When I buy something, I noticed they charge a little bit and it's a little costly to load. Another thing is if I want to set up an account with my insurance company and on a certain day, they're supposed to take money out, Netspend won't let me take money out. Also, they keep sending me cards and I don't understand that. I keep getting a NetSpend card every so often. I'm happy with what I have though. Other than those, they don't give me any problems when I want to buy something. If I send a friend money via Bitcoin, I have no problems. They let me buy my Bitcoin and we're off. Unlike when I had an account at a different bank and I had to jump through hoops just to buy a Bitcoin. I have also had to go to customer service once and they were very friendly, polite, and professional. I recommend Netspend to anybody that's having issues with banks.

Netspend is convenient. I can do everything online through the app. I don't have to carry any cash on me. I'm also able to use it with Apple Pay. The reps have been helpful. I have one big issue however. You're supposed to be able to cash checks or you can scan the check with the camera on your phone. It can't do it. They say they can't do anything until Netspend gets registered with the the third-party service that does the check cashing. Every time I scan a check, it says my identity can't be verified. But if you go into the app and look, the bank is listed as one of the ones that you can use to cash checks. I also have a problem on this one site. I have to buy credits from this website in order to chat with people in different countries. My card keeps getting denied.

Netspend is easier to work with. It's cheaper to put the money on the card and it doesn't take long for the card to be activated and for them to take the money off the card. It's also so convenient to put your money on it. When I call and ask some questions, the reps talk me through everything and let me know how the card is working, what I'm using the card on and how much is being taken off the card.

I love Netspend. It's a great card for those people who can't get a credit card. I can use Netspend to rent cars and I would load money in it when it's income tax time. There's a $3 fee when you get money from the card and I wish I didn't have to pay that. Netspend needs their own machine. Other than that, I have suggested to many people to get Netspend over the years.

I signed up online and it was quick and easy. My card came within a week. It's really great for income taxes and things like that and having the option of going to a store and put money on the card is great. Also, if I have questions, customer service is 24 hours, which is great because I have a crazy work schedule and I have a three-year-old son. They've been really patient and kind with me. They walk me through my millions of questions.
One time, there was a charge on my card that wasn't me. They handled it and sent me my money back. They were very nice about it. It only took three days to get a new card. Then, the second time was I was trying to get a new debit card because my old one had expired. They were really fast. They said my card should be here within a day or two and I came home that night and the card was in my mailbox. They're pretty honest when they tell you something.

I've never used Netspend somewhere where it was declined and I have less cash on me because I put money on my card. Also, anytime I call customer service, they always solve all my problems. The only problem I'm having that I can't get resolved is I can't get my card mailed to me. I'm using a card that does not have my name on it. I have called Netspend and they assured me that a card would be coming to my mailbox but there's still no card in my mailbox. I can't order a card because online, it won't let me put in a PO box because it has to be a physical address. But I cannot get mail at my physical address. When my Netspend runs out, I'd have to go back to the gas station and buy another Netspend card. But I'm still checking my mailbox every day, hoping that one day, I'm gonna open it up and my Netspend card with my name on it is gonna be there.
I reload very frequently, usually, at the dollar store. But it is a little annoying. Speedway in my area is now Rebel and I can no longer reload at the old Speedway location. But BP gas stations are everywhere in the town I live in and I can't reload at any of those locations. It would be very convenient if I could go to a BP gas station.

With Netspend, I have an option where I can put money into a savings, just leave it there and forget about it every once in a while. It's also like having a regular credit card. As long as I've got the money loaded on it, I haven't found anywhere I cannot use it. When putting money through direct deposits, the money is usually there a day and a half early. The Anytime Alert is great too. Every time I use the card, it lets me know the balance or if there have been deposits. I get paid on a Friday, but some days, my paycheck is there by 9:00 Wednesday or Thursday morning, by the time I wake up. Overall, Netspend has been excellent, and I definitely recommend it to people. I had my fiancée get one here the other day, but when she activated it, I didn't have my promo code.

I had an issue where websites would be taking from my account. Netspend did an investigation and then returned my money. It took about 7 to 14 days. They gave me a notice that it appeared on my card and that they refunded it. They do a good job. I'm satisfied.

A company made a few charges off the internet on our Netspend card. This was the first time we've encountered something negative and Netspend was unbelievable. They handled it like I never expected a company like that to be able to take care of a situation so quickly, so now I'm recommending them to everyone. There was a lady named Rose that answered my first phone call and she was so kind about directing me to the right person. Then when I got the gentleman, he helped me right away. He called the company and told them that that was not a legitimate charge. And in the meantime, they already squeaked in another charge. It was for a subscription plan and I never heard of that company. I've also never used that Netspend card because I always have to get it from my husband. So we knew it wasn't a legitimate charge. Both Rose and the gentleman were wonderful and thorough. We're so happy that we chose Netspend.

I really like Netspend. They send me an email on how much I have or how much I've spent or how much my balance is left after I spend my money on something. I go to Walmart and add money on my card, and it's easier for me to do it that way. It just depends on how many people is in front of me in the line waiting for the customer service. But most of the time, I can get in and out quickly. I got another Netspend card sent to me in the mail to be activated and I set that one up. The expiration date was a year after the first card ran out and when I got it activated, it combined into the first card where the amount of money on my first card was on my second card too. So I called them to see why my balance was on both cards and they said because both cards were joined together in one account. They were very friendly.

The alerts are good. I get them every time the card is used, and they're helpful. Netspend has been okay except for when they shut the card down because of possible fraud, and I can't get another one because the call center doesn't know what ACE is doing or ACE doesn't know what the call center is doing. Somewhere there was some confusion about how to shut the cards down or how to make a new card available. The language barrier is horrible as well. If I can't understand you and you can't understand me, how are we gonna communicate? Don't use Netspend.

People try to charge more stuff to your card as you give them the information, but they can't do that on Netspend ‘cause they'd only get what you got on there. I got scammed once before, so I said, “I’d get me a Netspend card.” It served the purpose that I got it for, which is when I do purchases online. My employer requires that I take a NetSpend Skylight Card to transfer tips and mileage reimbursement money to. I already have direct deposit through my employer for my regular wages and would prefer it compared to this card. Upon trying to activate my Skylight card, the Customer service agents over the phone claim that my Social Security number has me listed as 'decreased'. I know that this claim is 100% false because I am still being paid SSDI for the SSA at the time of this writing and I've never had this problem with any other company, including opening bank accounts, applying for credit, etc.
After getting then submitting to them a letter from SSA clearly stating that I'm not deceased and proof of address/SS card/proof of residence as was asked of me, NetSpend now tells me that I can no longer open an account with them and to go look elsewhere for a payment card. NetSpend will also not tell me or my employer why I can no longer open an account with them, telling me 'due to security reasons' to go ask the other department for that letter (email versus phone agents). What a useless card and useless company.

Netspend's verification process is really crazy. The questions they ask you are really, really ridiculous. If you don't answer it according to how they want you to, they'll put you back to the customer service computer thingy. Say if they ask you to verify yourself, they ask you questions like, "When was your last balance?" Sometimes, "What was your last deposit?" But that only works when you can get the app or when your app is working. So, when your app is not working, you're in your email and you're trying to see what was the last deposit.
When I opened up an account with Netspend in 2019, and since I left out of Pennsylvania, I was not able to use the Netspend app. So every time I had to verify myself, I had to go through my email, and then it was like, "Oh, we got to take you back to the thing." If you look at how many times I call, you will see that it is so many times. It was easy to hack my card. I don't do Google stuff or the Play Store. I don't even play games on my phone that you have to spend money for. I play games on my phone that you get money for. The person was able to use my card and somehow access my account and I had unnecessary spending on it. I asked them to change my account number and my routing number. They gave me a hard time with that and they kept on sending me to that automated service thing.
I had to take all of my funds out of Netspend because they made me late on my rent. I requested a new card to come in the mail but they already canceled it out. When I received the card, I called to activate it and they said the card was canceled out. I called customer service, and they did that whole thing again with the back and forth thing. I was aggravated. They ended up sending me another card out. By the time, the rent time was done. They hung up in my ears so many times. They also got nasty so many times. Some Americans should be at least hired at Netspend so that they can get other agents besides people from Thailand and the Philippines.
The supervisors at Netspends are very sarcastic and rude. They pretend to help you and the call goes through. But then, out of nowhere, the call will just drop. Then the card won't verify because it's already canceled. They are unreasonable. It's to the point that there were times when my pressure went all the way up to the point that I got sick of dealing with them.

I had a check deposited of 1224. I went to court on Friday at 130am to pay a ticket of 179. I had to transfer to cash app because Netspend has never sent me a card to use. I transferred it and paid. Later the evening they closed my account not telling me and then when I asked to get access to my money they said no and they will mail me a check. The Fraud dept cleared it and said not fraudulent activity. But they still refused to open the account or allow me to transfer my money.

I like the two-day early pay and they're nice enough to let you go $10 over. The first time I did the reload was a week ago or so. I didn't realize it was done by Western Union. But it wasn't bad for 3.95. Netspend's call automation is really, really efficient. Netspend has been good. It's worked very well for me. But they should be almost like Capital One. They already have the funds deposited, so they should make available to folks prepaid, which would already be like a Netspend credit card for a specific limit of what their deposits are.

Netspend’s service was up and down. Sometimes my funds wouldn't come through like they said it would. It started out where my funds would be set up to where if my card was used, I would get a message on my phone that so much of my funds was used on my card and I will keep up with it that way. But somehow it changed and it stopped telling me when my card was used or when something was taken off of my card. I have to look on my phone to find out when something was used off my card and where. I liked Netspend the way it was at first. Even if I send my son into the store to use my card, before he would come out, I would know how much he used off my card, how much it was and everything. But it doesn't do that now.
Netspend was a perfect card. It was wonderful and I liked the way I used it. Even with the fees that came out on the end, that was okay with me. Then it started changing and I started just dealing with it. Sometimes, it's hard to talk to Netspend and to get to the right person to talk about it. It gets to where I’ll just say, "Forget it." I don't want to argue with them or bring up the situation.

I’ve been calling Netspend because I got the prepaid card, but they sent me another card. It has the same routing number but it’s got a different account number on there, so I didn't activate it. I didn't know what I needed to do with my debt. Still, I really like everything about the Netspend card. I receive my payments two days early, and it’s more easy. I have no complaint about anything, and my interactions with customer service has been nice too.

They charge you for every little thing, including declined transactions and all other transactions. To check your balance. In one month I was charged over 200.00 in NetSpend fees for using the card. This card will make you broke.

Love these cards. They have my back if anyone tries to steal my money and they take of me if they manage to do so. Their customer service is top notch. Get one if you can and tell them Jim sent you (Hahaha). I really do recommend getting one though, it's like a savings account you can use or build up at any time.

Whatever you do if you are going on as and want to open a bank account do not go to Direct Express. They don't care about you or your money. Net Spend is the only way to do your banking. They keep you up-to-date on everything that has to do with your money. Net Spend I give six stars!

On Christmas Eve I went to Target to get some gifts for Christmas. Every time I attempted to make the purchase, it would be declined. I wouldn't find out for another day or two that it was due to unusual purchase activity. THEY WERE CHRISTMAS PRESENTS! Of course it's not going to be my normal purchase activity! Long story short, I wasn't able to get Christmas presents for the people I really care about. I was in line around 7:30, and they closed at 8:00. I tried for about 20-30 minutes before they closed. It was extremely embarrassing. PART of it is my own fault for waiting till the last minute, but that was very stressful and it shouldn't have happened. I've always had nothing but good things to say about NetSpend, but after that I am tempted to get rid of that card. Very disappointed.

I've had Netspend for many years. However, I deposited an amount I needed recently and then it wasn't enough. So I had to put another $5 on and they took another 2.75 out of that. It still wasn't enough for what I needed. It was ridiculous. But they have been really good to me.

I get direct deposit two days ahead of time. That's perfect. However, I purchased some items for Christmas through Nike, but the next couple of days, it wouldn't let me purchase some more. I also don't like that retailers can go on your Netspend account and pull money.

If I could give zero stars, I would. This is the worst absolutely worse prepaid credit card that you can use on the earth. They charge you for every transaction and if you go online to buy things, they will shut your credit card down and sometimes they won’t even issue your money out at all after they shut your credit card down. They are always putting restrictions on the card if you buy things online and you cannot overcome that you have to call in and if you have more than three times that you bought things online they will suspend your card forever. They say they’re going to send you your money but this is the second Netspend prepaid card.
I’ve had the first one never sent me my money back. I’m praying that they will send me my money back this time because it’s almost $400. That I put on there to buy my grandkids Christmas presents so it’s totally ruining the Christmas season this year because I won’t get the money back for 7 to 10 business days minus of course the holidays as well. Then the lady on the other end of the line told me I was not ever able to get another PREPAID Netspend card again.: LOL why would I want one?? I’m praying I get my money back that was on my card so Please do not buy this card. It is the worst ever.!!!

The customer service was exactly spot on. If Netspend saw something that wasn’t quite right, they immediately shut it off, called me and we figured out what it was and rectified the situation. So, everything so far has been extremely a lot easier. With the bank, I'd had to go up there or make 500 phone calls, then fix it. Netspend is as easy as using any other card. The only deal is I wish it had a chip. It just has a magnet on the back. If it had the chip, it would be top-notch.

I like Netspend. I get my check early. I can use wherever I can draw money off buy buying something. I can send and receive money Facebook. I can put money on my card, transfer money from one to other netspend. I pay a monthly fee. I can call my card for anything I need information on. Customer service is most of the time good except when you get someone that can't talk English good which I just ask to someone else that can talk English. I have not really had a big problem with netspend which is a good thing 'n I have used netspend for a few years now and I like it.

I really like using my Netspend card. It works just like a credit card because of the Mastercard/Visa logos. I can easily transfer money from my bank or pay a small fee and add money to my card at several different locations.

I am satisfied with my order of a new card account. The only drawback was my account blocked. I would rather the bank had not paid the draft and notified me as I had no money. With this action I had to borrow money to live on. I do not use credit cards at all. I have encouraged family members to use debit cards as you provide a cash out to my phone and running balance.

About 10 years ago, I was waiting on my check to come in on the 1st and I knew I had a little money in my account. I went to Carowinds to get my little change out so we can have a good time. When I saw what I saw, I was totally shocked. My money came a week in advance and that was the perfect day. I've been with Netspend ever since. That's my main bank.
I had a situation that was cleared up this week. It all started with me moving from North Carolina to Federal Way and I can no longer call Netspend from my phone. I have to go to somebody else's phone to call them. I can't just dial the number anymore. I asked them several times if they blocked me. That was an inconvenience because I had to take time on the phone that was someone else's. The other thing was my card no longer worked when I got to Federal Way. I called several times about that and was told I had no restrictions. But when I go to the ATM, I could not use my card. Come to find out the other day when I was preparing for the New Year that I have a new account number and a new routing number. That must have been the problem. All the times that I called, no one was able to see that in my account.
I had my direct deposit from Social Security. I waited until Wednesday and I still couldn't access it. The lady rep said I had no money in my account. But now my primary card works after I found out I had a new routing number. Basically, it's a new account but I'm using the same card. That does not make sense to me. I'm not complaining but that's been my problem for six months. Doesn't Netspend have a system that says they changed my account? I did not change my account. I've had the same routing number and account number for at least 10 years. I did call back and I told them what the problem was. Other than that, I refuse to let Netspend go. The other Tuesday morning, I got the check. If I have another problem with the account, I'm gonna check that routing number and account number.

I have had Netspend for almost 20 years and I've never known anything about the difference between my Netspend and the All-Access. It's been offered to me several times, but I've turned it down because I don't know what the pros and cons are. I'm going to try. They're supposed to be sending me one. My Social Security from the government direct deposits it right into my Netspend, and I get it two days earlier. Plus, I've got what they call an Anytime Alerts, where every single thing I do or spend or deposit sends directly to my phone and I can see it right there in front of me. So, it’s very understandable. It was honest and it's been honest for this long. And there's been some other people that say I need to get a bank account. I don't want a bank account and I'm not gonna get one. I know Netspend is basically a bank account, but it's not the same. So, I will never change.
I'm very impressed with the customer support because when you first get them on the phone, they ask you to verify your information and your security code or question. If you want to go further such as get more information from a direct deposit and deeper into your account, then you go into some more indefinite questions for security and no one has that information but me. So they don't quote it to me. I tell them and they verify it. It's totally different and very helpful. I feel very comfortable and I can sleep at night knowing what's in my bank account. These days especially, I've checked that bank account on my phone almost every two hours.
I got kudos for customer service. They treat me very fair and they’ve never been dishonest. They’ve never raised their voice at me. There have been times where I've had fraud on my account. I don't care if it's $1 or $2. They watched that account and they would send me information immediately if I made that transaction or not. So, I know exactly what's going on and I can trust Netspend. They are already there and they know what they're doing. I've encouraged people to go with Netspend. They don't believe that's how good it is, but I know.

My experience has been awesome. I had a time when someone charged $1 to my account. They investigated and they realized it was fraud. Somebody had gone through my account and was stealing money multiple times. I told them that the last transaction I used on my card was at Wendy's with my family. They noticed that right after that, something for $1 was charged. Then after that dollar, the same people took 99.99, 89.99, then 49.99. They canceled my card on the spot.
Their anytime alerts work great. They let you know when you use your card. The other day, I sent my wife $1,000 so that we can pay our rent, and sent me a text message alert asking if it was me.

I have been trying to set up an employer account with Netspend/Skylight for more than two months now. They do not seem to be interested in my business at all. I feel like I have had to beg them to create the account and I keep asking (to no avail) for training on how to use the corporate portal. I am now planning on taking my business elsewhere. I do not know how they stay in business!!

Tried to get ahold of you, was placed on a half-hour waiting list and hung up on. (SEVERAL TIMES) I’m Missing $100.00 and no way to find out what has happened to it. That was 2 months ago and still no reply… and no my card is not missing. I haven’t used it since the lost money incident. In addition, I have now moved and can’t find the original receipt. So now I’m truly out of the $100.00. I only put money on the card prior to specific internet purchases, so that is how I found out the money was missing, the card was refused for lack of funds.
The card was to insure that no one could get at my base account. I always refilled the card with cash so there would be no paper trail as would be with a direct transfer of funds. I am glad that I did so. Losing $100.00 was bad enough, not being able to get ahold of customer service was worse. But at least the your lack of security did not involve a paper trail access to my other accounts. I have been given no incentive for this review. In fact: I am out $100.00 as of this date. I tried to put 1 star but it came up three.

Quick need to work on timelines of answering phones but everyone is polite and they are knowledgeable. The actual process is quick and zi fo appreciate receiving funds early. Do however have problems with the amount of direct deposit. At time VA will deposit back pay from a claim and it's difficult at times to track down one time it was sent back.

I got the original Netspend. It's the original cardholder agreement, which specifically states it's from AIG, and that it does not pertain to any prepaid product. I got the corresponding savings account number for MetaBank, but for some reason, I've never had an opportunity to connect that with the bank. I don't know what else I need to do. They don’t want to explain. It was never explained what would happen or how to do it, and how to go about it.
I've got about 15 cards from Netspend. Between them, Brink’s Pre-aid Money and card services, since the beginning of 2022, I've got absolutely none of them to work. I put a lot of time into it because I always felt like they were going to make it up to me at some point. I just got another card from them the day before yesterday, and it's a Netspend All Access. But I hadn't even tried to activate it. I'm so discouraged from trying to put any hope into getting it to work. It's embarrassing when you go somewhere and you think it's gonna work, but it doesn’t.
Netspend could have reached out and been considerate because they know my identity was compromised early in the year. I did everything that I thought was right. I contacted the FTC and I got a local police report with one arrest. I also got my first hardcopy of credit report from TransUnion, and I did let all three bureaus know about it. Netspend could have tried and explained to me. It's been disappointing. But I don’t just blame them, just MetaBank. They don't want to talk. When I try to call them, there are no numbers to reach out and talk to Support. When you call Netspend, they just tell you, “Well, you gotta add money. You gotta add money.” But I say, “No. I’m supposed to be adding a card that does not pertain to any prepaid product.” I've invested a lot of time on trial deposits, verifying accounts, doing it right, and still nothing.

Netspend is pretty good. If you do a transaction, you get a text within minutes telling you about it. I was able to catch a hack when it happened. I recently upgraded to the All Access Netspend and I haven't had any problems with it other than I made the mistake of doing the optional overdraft thing. So from three $1 charges, I was up to $73 in the hole. I stopped the optional overdraft thing and I'm doing it normal now, but I love it.
I can get in touch with somebody in Netspend and I can get things done that I needed to be done. But it's frustrating when you spend 20 or 30 minutes on hold and getting transferred to finally the level you need to be and talking to the person you need to talk to and then the call is dropped. They've got a couple of glitches in the system. When they go to verify, they say, “Well, I’ll transfer you so you can verify.” But it doesn't go to any other application thing. It starts the whole program over, and all of a sudden, they’re giving you a card number and you don't get that accomplished. The other day, I had to call them back four times. It took me about two hours to finally get to the level and accomplish what I was trying to do.

Updated on 01/01/2023: This is the second and last time I will review this company. I actually just had my account with them closed today because I am tired of dealing with nonsense when it comes to my money. This is one of the worst banks ever. Customer service and management are terrible, outsourced to countries in the middle east and almost non-exist. They blame everything on the system and can never do anything and when transferred to a supervisor, the supervisor just says the same exact things. They run you in circles until you get super agitated.
They filed one of my claims incorrectly before and it took over 2 months and talking to over 10 agents for me to finally leave a review on ConsumerAffairs. After I left my first review, someone from Netspend's corporate office in the US reached out to me, saw the mistake, fixed it and my money went back into my account the next day. It only took over 2 months for someone to finally hear what I was saying and get my money back. Now I am in a the same exact situation with this bank and it's like the problems are never-ending so I just closed my account and solely use my CapitalOne 360 card which is 10x better because the customer service is in the US, they don't solely rely on the system, no overdraft fees and supervisors can actually help you... If you don't like having to call your bank every week to get ran in circles and told different things every time you call, don't bank with these guys. If I could rate them below a 1 star, I would.
Updated on 12/10/2022: The only way you get any real help is by leaving a Consumer Affairs review. Then someone from corporate will call. The dispute process is terrible and the customer service can't actually help. The system does everything and you get ran in circles. I had $500 taken from my account for a transaction that was pending for over a week and then dropped off. Somehow this transaction now says that it posted within the first few days of it pending.
I had an issue with a different dispute which caused my account to go negative and me to not receive my credit for 2 months. There were times I couldn't afford food because of this, it was a very large amount of money. I spoke with about 10 customer service reps during that timeframe and when I left a ConsumerAffairs review, a corporate rep called me within days and resolved the issue, getting my credit to me immediately. Turns out, the customer service filed my dispute incorrectly. This time around, I'm getting ran in circles and I'm out 500, ironically the same day I need to pay my rent.
Original Review: This company has no real Customer service, managers or dispute department. It's a 3rd party to a bank. Do not make large transactions with these cards. I have been ran in circles and told ill receive my money on multiple different dates. Everytime I ask for a manager, I'm put on hold for 30 mins and the CS reps just hang up. Protect your money people, this bank will not.

Netspend is a lot cheaper using it at ATM than the Walmart card. It's also a lot easier to use. I use it for online shopping. When I go on trips, I use it to pay for souvenirs. I’ve had a lot of stores cards, and this is the best card I've ever had.

They say you get paid two days quicker with Netspend and you really do. You can also monitor your funds. If they feel like it's a scam transaction going through your phone that you didn't authorize, they will notify you by email and tell you to call a certain number.

I lost my card and I transferred money to another Netspend card. I had to pay my rent and my car, and when I tried to transfer more, they said I had reached my limit. I told the rep I needed them to transfer some of my money and the rep said no because my cap is $3,000 per month. I told her I got more than $3,000 worth of bills that I have to pay so I’m transferring money to another card and if I had known that, I would have just done a little bit everyday. But I transferred the amount, thinking I could pay my card and the light bill as well as the gas bill. Then, when that ran out, I had other bills that came through and I wasn’t able to pay them.
For almost three weeks, they put it in for another card and I was gonna get it on a certain date. I never got it. I had to pay $25 to get one expedited to me and by that time, I was two months behind on everything. Netspend should not put a limit. It’s my money. I should be able to get it when I want to. Also, I’m supposed to get paid two days early, which I don't. Netspend’s customer service rep said it’s because of whenever the job does. I get paid around Friday on most of my jobs and I should have my check on that Wednesday.

They said you're supposed to get your check up to two days early, but that's not true. I get it early every now and then, but not like they said when I had first got the card. Also, I had disputed a charge. They said it'll be between October and December before I hear anything. That's a long time. Nevertheless, I love Netspend.

I am a victim of identity. I had noticed some things in my name that I haven't done. I wanted a resolution. My DOB, SSN, email address and phone number as well as bank information has been gotten. Law, attorneys and identity monitoring is now watching over my accounts and information. I don't have to file taxes personally but when I was claimed under my family someone else had filed in my name. Worked with their fraud and months later they were caught BY THE IRS THEMSELVES. Getting NetSpend was quick and easy. I've been with them for 10 years and it's a perk that I get paid early. The reps are friendly and professional. The only thing I don't like is that they kept letting Amazon take money out of my account after I asked them to close that account. I told Netspend about it and the girl told me, “Okay, we’re gonna close that card.” Come to find out, they never closed it. I kept getting text messages from Amazon taking money out. I found that I had money still on my card that the rep was supposed to switch over but she didn't do that.

I did NetSpend to get paid faster. I am able to manage my finances by saving and buying most stuff. I send money through my Netspend account to my cash out and money for my debt. I did that three times and the process is easy. I do the ATM too but one thing I don't like about the ATM now is they don’t let you get all your money on it at one time. If you have $600 on your card, they make you split it into three, which is much harder.

I ordered a prepaid PayPal card and I didn't even know Netspend was involved in it. I got a refund back on an order that I had made. I couldn't use the refund for some reason on my PayPal and it said, “Transfer to your bank.” I was trying to transfer it over to my debit card or my bank account. But it circled around and it transferred it back to a PayPal account which was connected to Netspend. That was okay with me but I was confused about how I got connected to Netspend.
I just started using NetSpend and utilize it for direct deposit. I liked that NetSpend was easy and convenient. I didn't have to jump through hoops to spend my money. I know my money's there. One thing, however, is I have to call in and check my balance while I could just look at my phone on PayPal. Netspend doesn't have an app for me to do that. Another inconvenient thing for me is every time I call to check my balance, I have to enter either my social security number or the whole card number. I don't have the card number memorized.

The reps are very helpful and friendly. They answer my questions to where I can understand them. Netspend is a little bit more convenient for me because my checks were always sent three days before. The rep pointed out direct deposit so I don't have to go through my mailbox to get a check and cash it. Give them a try. Netspend is really good. You get your money and you have your card. You can get a loan too.

I love using my Netspend card. It’s so much easier to use when ordering stuff online. I don’t have to worry about my account being hacked like my bank account. I am homebound so having my Netspend card gives me more freedom. I just have a family member or friend that I trust go to the local Safeway and put more money on the card as I need. I just wish I had a card with a higher amount that I could load onto it. That way during the holidays I wouldn’t have to have my card loaded as often. I live out of town so it would be more convenient to use.

Not many free ATMs around me but it's been good. Easy to set up, and easy to navigate around the site. Has savings which is neat. However most features are basic. All baseball theme cards, it's a pain to upload your own. Would be nice if they would start doing chips in the cards.

Also, every time I go to log on to check, it said my password ain't right. I know I've used the right password, but I've never contacted Netspend and I don't ever go online.

I had Netspend for a while when my wife had it, too. I just never had direct deposit. Now, I have direct deposit with them but sometimes, it takes three days to get my money. They told me I couldn't borrow at least $100 unless I have like SSI direct deposit. My wife could borrow up to 150. I called Netspend and they said I don't qualify. Other than that, the card is good and helps a lot.

If my husband cashes his check, they charge him 2.50 on their end and 2.50 on the other end. I don't think that's fair but it is what it is.

This company is 100% fraud. NetSpend caters to web identity hackers with their customer support platform. There is no Customer Service. It's all auto generated email response telling you to call a bogus number that sends people on a round robin of tele-prompting for 10 minutes at a time just to get nowhere, with no-one and cut off as your reward for trying! This company needs to be SHUT DOWN BY THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU! Tip for consumers: You’ll never be able to resolve this issue with NetSpend. You’ll have to do it through legal levels! I am.

Beware with this Company! An elderly lady bought 2 of these for my daughter and I. She thought they were gift cards and got these & added money. This card charges $5 activate fee, $2 fee on (ALL) purchases, canceling fee, and non use fee. I don't need this & would never use this company. They get rich off of YOUR money!! It's best to go to a bank and get a debit card that don't ROB you. Calling this company is a total nightmare!! You have to wait up to 30+ min for them to pick up, and then they constantly hang up on you. Then every TSR says something different.
I was on hold over 30 min before I was able to talk with a "supervisor." Now, 71 mins later it's silent but the phone is still on. What a pathetic excuse for any Company, any employee, to act like this, let alone a "Supervisor." I told them I wanted both cards deactivated now. It better be done! I of course tried calling back but it's always something. Smh. I'm Out of $100. I only got to use $(29.40) out of the $100. Do not be fooled please. Unless you don't mind your money going in their pockets. I can not get corporate's number or anything to make sure this gets handled. I never received my cards... Yet they continue to take my money. Smh. Waste and disgrace. This is a scam people...

I don't do banks and I was told that Netspend operates like a bank. We got to do savings and different things with it. However, my account got locked because they said my address didn't match up. I had put the wrong address on file, so I had to send all my information. But once it got locked, it took two days. Other than that, everything was fine.

I purchased what I thought was a $40 gift card. After not activating it for 7 months I found out that the $49 is no longer available and they have charged me $5.95 per month for non use! Since when does it cost money for not using something?! To make matters worse I had to provide my social security number and date of birth just to access the funds. I thought this was a gift card. This business is a scam and I want my money back and personal information erased from the system.
Netspend offers prepaid debit cards, not gift cards.
Like other financial companies, we are required by our bank, as well as MasterCard and Visa associations, to be compliant with AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and BSA (Bank Secrecy Act) laws. Both laws require that all financial institutions verify the identity of each account holder.
This means that we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and your government ID number during the activation process. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying information.
The fees for using the card and for maintaining the Card Account, including maintenance fees, are fully disclosed in the Cardholder Agreement that was included in the card packaging. The fee is automatically charged after 90 consecutive days of no activity.

I love my Netspend. I like that Netspend has a lot of privacy. I like the fact that I don't have to use my debit card for my banking so that they'll know everything I spend money on. Netspend took care of the problem in a timely manner when I had to call customer service one time. I was very pleased. I ordered something online. I was supposed to pay $4.99 for the shipping. Because the product I ordered was free, you just had to pay for shipping. If you liked it, then you could just subscribe to a prescription. I ordered it, and I clearly put I just wanted the free trial. But, they started billing me, taking the money off of my Netspend. I tried to resolve it with them but I couldn't really resolve it with them. So I got in touch with Netspend.

I reported some fraudulent use on my debit card and they told me that I should hear something about it on the first of July. They told me it would take up to 10 days for them to put my money back on my card but it could take up to 45 days. This is the first time I've ever had an issue with Netspend. Other than this, I would recommend them. They are excellent.
