I like that I can do the online stuff with NetSpend. When I upgraded to the 9.99 plan to where I didn't have to worry about getting charged fees every time I used the card, it made it like a debit card now. I can use it anywhere. Also, I noticed there's a feature on there where I can see how I'm spending my money. I like that part too. I also get the Anytime Alerts every time I spend money. It tells me my balance. That is very helpful in regards to knowing where my money is. However, I have automatic payments that come out. So I have to be careful with that, not to think that I have money in the bank when I have an automatic payment coming out. But the Anytime Alerts are amazing. Their customer service is excellent as well.

I used my card for verification and I was charged again $1.95 after I talked to one of your representative just last week - I paid the $5 that she recommended - so I would not be charged 1.95 - that was on the 23rd of April - I already lost money because I didn't know about the $5 monthly plan - I have SS & it's not a lot so when I get charged every time I use your card I feel like I got taken to the cleaners so to speak - I would just like to know that my money is mine and I will pay the $5 every month but I can't afford that extra money for using the card - don't make a lot and I have bills to pay - every penny counts to me - thank you for your time and I apologize for such a long response.

I would like to know about the purchase fees on my MasterCard and Visa and about paying $5.00 for the month as it seams pretty vague and I don't know much about using it. And would like to receive more info as I use it because Google only take visa now because of the MasterCard scandal.

Have monthly contest and offer $300 for loyal long time customers, who you consider to be VIP. Just a suggestion. So far very happy in being a PayPal customer and hopefully will to be one for a very long time. I filed a dispute and the first lady I spoke with never sent me an email. Never told me I needed to submit info regarding the dispute so I call back about it and was told I don't qualify for the 10 day credit thing because I didn't submit the info. The supervisor was VERY rude and unhelpful. Just saying she has to follow protocol, but the protocol should have been followed with the first employee!

The only reason I signed with you was because I thought I would get my paycheck deposited earlier but I don't so I'm thinking of switching to Chime. Other than that your service is okay so far. This was a great disappointment and has me looking to see if Chime would be better.

Worst card company out there. Limits on everything so you can't transfer the amounts you want. They keep the limits low so they can collect more fees. The customer service is completely incompetent. A simple question and I was on the phone for an hour and a half just to be hung up on. The email responses sound like a third-grader wrote them and were also not helpful. And their chatbot is just flat-out stupid. Don't sign up for their scam!

I use Netspend quite a bit. It's the quickest way to pay some of my bills, and the alerts are convenient. I have my account and my husband's online, and customer service has helped me out a lot. They helped me pay certain stuff that I can't do on my own. When reloading, I always go to Family Dollar and it's easy.

My friend told me about Netspend because I was trying to open a bank account and I was unable to. I didn't wanna keep cash on me all the time. I also wanted to purchase stuff online or there are certain places where they take cards, and all I had was cash. Netspend helped me out in a way that I can do more stuff with my money, and I get the alerts. They text message me every time I use my card and that's good. I like that. I also have Netspend on my wallet in my phone. I have a passcode on there, and sometimes with my thumb, it'll automatically pull up the card reader. However, I tried to use it the other day and I couldn't. I just used the card with me, but I'm gonna figure that out and try that next.
I love Netspend, and I'm very satisfied with the service. I like to be online and to buy stuff. I have an account with Amazon now, and it's easier for me to order. I like the fact that I can use my card for different things. There are certain things that people need a card for. Let's say if I want to rent a car or a U-Haul, sometimes they need to put a card. I also like the fact that it's easy to find reload locations. I just pull it up on the map and there's a lot of places around me. There's Walgreens and different places that I can use it. I'm waiting still on my taxes, but I put it on there as well. I would encourage people that cannot get bank accounts like me to get the Netspend card because it makes life a lot easier. I'll definitely recommend Netspend to a friend.

Netspend has been good. I haven't been that displeased with it. I was just hoping that they don't keep changing stuff. Sometimes they did. I use a Netspend card because I don't always like putting my money in the bank all the time. Their Anytime alerts is very convenient. The reps have been very helpful when I called in. They explain whatever it was that I called them for like those times when they would reject something and I wanted to know why and whether they were gonna go ahead and pay it or would I have to redo it all over again. Overall, Netspend is nice to have.

I have been a customer with Netspend All Access, going on 9 years. Up until recently, I've truly never had a problem, other than having slight communication issues with the off-shore customer service reps, when I may have had to call. As of recently, my acct. has been compromised, and continuously, I've had to call in to re-gain access to my online acct, I've gone through the 8 step verification process countless times, each call, and have had had to continously advise to update this that and the third for my credentials, which has not been taking place. I've been asked multiple times the past few times I've called, to have a text sent to the number on file, ending in 8844, which numerous times I've informed them that is not my number and it needs to be changed.
Upon further infestation on my part, I realized that number is tied to one of their representatives in the Fraud dept. As of today, I've gotten the run around to each dept. today to attempt to reset my online login creds, ensure the dispute claim for the unauthorized transaction that took place yesterday, was filed correctly, and to button up anything add'l I may need to have done, on my end to further the process and expedite it along.
I'm not one to leave reviews, good or bad, but today has me at my breaking point. I am severing ties with Netspend as soon as I am able to close the claim and get reimbursed. I want the Corp. sector of Netspend/Meta Bank, to view this complaint and take it with the highest of utmost seriousness, especially when the phone number seven 1 seven-six 8 five-eighty 8 40 four that is allegedly attached to my account as my primary number "and it shouldn't be" is one of their own alleged representatives, that works in their Fraud dept. That is beyond not ok. How am I to know the charge I'm disputing currently, is being handled properly, and the fraudulent charge, isn't the working of someone internal from Netspend/Meta Bank. This is absolutely surreal.

I ordered a Netspend card to spend overseas on after depositing $7000. My card was canceled and Netspend closed my account without my knowledge, it took a month for them to mail me my check for $7000 and I had trouble cashing it at various banks, they put a two-month hold on it and no one from Customer Service from Netspend would verify the check with the bank teller on the phone. This was a horrible experience and all I did was follow the guidelines With the Netspend all excess card, stay away from this. It is not worth it. Is danger, is terrible, is bad business and Netspend is a very terrible organization. Be aware of this demon agency.

I've always used Netspend and any time I've ever called and had an issue, it’s been solved. I like how they do things. I also like getting my paycheck earlier than the normal. When I do direct deposit, it’s usually in my check two days earlier than what it normally would if I went somewhere else. I like their deposit if I get a check too. I've used that quite a few times where I can take a picture, and it automatically loads. I don't have to go to a bank. Netspend also has offers through certain gas station and restaurants where if you use your card, you get a certain percent off.

I love Netspend. It controls my spending and it's a very nice card. I go in to 7-Eleven to add money, and there's never a problem. I had put $400 then I got an email that they were adding $40 the next time that I applied money. It was great that they did that with the $40. I also got an email this morning that if I refer a friend, they'll give me and the new member money.

I asked Netspend about depositing money into a card so that I could pay some bills and they said they do that. I could deposit whenever I need to use the Master or Visa card. I asked, "Could I do that today?" They said, "Yeah." Since then, I've been depositing money if I needed to use the card. I go to the store where they're located and deposit it on my way home from wherever I would be at. I'm happy they have it. It's convenient and helpful where I could go in the store and get stuff that I need when I put money on my card.
I never had that kind of experience before with just using a card and putting money on it if I needed it because most of it is always a charge card. I refused to go back with using a charge card because what they do is charge many fees that I didn't like it. So, I paid them off and said I wouldn't wanna deal with that anymore. So, since I got with the Netspend, I've been liking the way that the card works. I also like the Any Time Alert feature.

When I do direct deposit, it's quick and fast so that's awesome. And it sends you the alert and lets you know when your money hit your account. You are able to track everything you spend and you know your balance when you get towards the end, so you know how much you need to save or not.

Horrendous company with even worse customer service. Do not buy a debit card from them for any reason, especially if giving it as a gift. All they have is fees and restrictions and loopholes to cause you more stress and headaches. The absolute worst company I've ever dealt with when it comes to debit/gift cards. Disappointed is an understatement.

I recommend staying away from Netspend. I experienced 4 days of finger-pointing with NetSpend saying that failure to establish a bank connection through their website was not their fault, and when I finally succeeded through numerous attempts, it would only transfer $10 and then refused to transfer more despite the screen telling me I could still transfer $290 of the $300 limit. Try to reach customer service through Chat? Forget it - the bot says you can't reach a human. Good riddance, NetSpend.

Great. Thanks again for being awesome. Five stars overall customer service. Outstanding. Very helpful. Outstanding. Very polite and patient and great explaining things. Just super helpful with my dispute. I had to file against merchant. Nothing bad on Netspend's side. They was the ones who helped me get through my unfortunately having to dispute a transaction on my account because of the merchant I purchased from but some of the coolest NetSpend providers came to my rescue as they always have since I have been a member 3 years ago. They jumped right in to help me and assist me with what I needed help with and also helping me fully resolve the issue as well why I say always going above and beyond for their customers. I enjoy using my Netspend card. Whenever I go to the ATM or I go anywhere and spend any money, I get an alert to let me know how much was spent, where it was spent, and how much my balance is. I use the direct deposit and it was very easy to set up. When I called to ask a question, I got excellent service. The person that I talked to was very courteous and patient, answered all my questions, and even made suggestions.

My NetSpend Account was very convenient. Cards with a chip made it convenient, as I could use the card at Starbucks. I mostly shop at Whole Foods, where it is very convenient. They are closing CFSC locations in Milwaukee, which I don't agree with. There is still one location downtown at the worst Crossroads in Milwaukee, so that is a consideration.

I tried to load the Netspend card a couple of times with a large amount but they wouldn't accept that. I just kept going down till I got something they would take. Also, they spelled my name wrong one time and I had trouble getting it back. Getting a response on that took me a while, but when they came through, Netspend came through with gangbusters and sent me two cards. But they straightened it out. I needed the one and it came early and to the right address. I wanted to put some money on the card because I was traveling and loaded it with my bank. I use it on the road. So, it works out well. I never had any trouble and I’d give Netspend a thumbs up. People should go for it.
The customer service has been excellent. I recently opened a bank account also because I was thinking about retiring and putting my retirement there. There's something to do there and Social Security and it would have worked out fine. I still may do that. I'm just having trouble with pulling the trigger on retiring. One thing I didn't agree with was they were charging too much in the beginning just because I didn't use the card. I didn't like that. They told me to use it once at least every 90 days and it'll take care of that. But other than that, it's great. I've got a lot of cards and they were right there. The website is straightforward. I check my balance periodically here and there because I get a lot of emails from them. And some of it sounds like I need to do this and that. But I always check just to make sure.

Every time you use the card, they charge you. I don't think that ought to be on there. I ain't found a place where you can go and use a Netspend card and don't get charged. They also charge $5 to get money out of an ATM. Also, sometimes, it's hard to get ahold of a customer support.

It's easy using Netspend. It's just that every time you use the card, they take out a fee. It's $1.50 every time I use my card.

The customer service that I received from Netspend has been great when I can get ahold of them. My telephone, sometimes, won't do the numbers correctly because I have the same issue with them that I have with phoning in a prescription. If I use somebody else's phone, then it works fine. My only issue with Netspend is that I've got two different phone numbers for them and when I call, if my phone doesn't punch in the right numbers correctly of my card, then their customer service just says, "You're not an active customer." That was the automated part of it, and then they just hang up. There's no way to get to a live person without putting in your Netspend card number and having the computer recognize it. They also do not have a customer service email that you can just email that customer service number and get help online. But once I've gotten through to somebody when I've had an issue, then it's been resolved very quickly.
I like the automated information. Every Monday, I get a text with my balance. I like that any time I use the card, I get a text that I've used it, and those things all work very well. I have sent them two notes when I've been able to do a survey online for them after I've had issues, and I have told them those two things very clearly and that they need to do something different about that because I can't possibly be the only person who is having this issue.
I had to contact them for a refund that a hotel in Montana was trying to get to go through. The hotel is trying to refund it and the Netspend system wouldn't accept the refund. It took them about a week and a half to get it resolved because all they did was automated responses to us. They didn't have a person read it and say, "Oh, my goodness, what's going on?" I did eventually receive my complete refund. It was just for a reservation and then my plans changed. So, it wasn't a dispute. Their automatic email that would come back says, "If this is a dispute, your card is gonna be frozen." I was like, "No, do not freeze my card, just process the refund."

Since using Netspend, I'm more in control of my finances. The reload is a pretty good deal and I love the Anytime Alerts because when the card is being loaded, it lets me know every dime comes off of it and all that. When I lost my card and I called them up, they immediately shut that card down and let me get another card started. I would recommend Netspend over the other ones just because of the controllability how much money or how much funds is on the car. You're in total control of what goes on with your card.

I like using the Netspend card, specifically for internet orders. I like having a financial instrument not married to any of my bank accounts. The fee charged for each transaction is a small price to pay for the peace of mind associated with having this financial tool. It is easy to balance the card account, using the Netspend website. Adding money to the account is also a breeze, as there are many places you can do this without a fee for the service.

I like the prepaid Visa account. It’s convenient, adding money is easy. Their fraud service is very good and reliable. I like that I can check the account balance and see where and how the money was spent. If I have a problem I can call them and they will help me get an answer.

The NetSpend people were super helpful and resolved the issue I had promptly, with absolutely no trouble at all! Of course, I'm almost positive I could've done what I needed to do, on the website myself, however, I was in a hurry and figured I would call the toll free number and have them assist me! With that said, not only would I absolutely recommend NetSpend to all of my friends, but also to my ENTIRE family as well!!!

I was pleased with use, don't how far debit goes or what the limit is for personal use. Received other Netspend cards. Never activated! Not sure if use is for debit or won't work! Haven't since activated and didn't! Wonder if will.

Netspend is horrible. Ever since my tax money dropped. I have had to call every day and send over 20 plus emails to verify myself. This is a horrible prepaid company. Do not recommend. The agents on the phone are not helpful nor do they give out the correct information. Having Netspend has been stressful and wouldn’t want to recommend to anyone.

With Netspend, I'm in control of everything. I can put in what I want when I want and control everything there. The reload locations are close by, and I haven't had any problems. I reload at a store and I've never had it later than 30 minutes that it takes to hit the card. Netspend has been good with Western Union as well. When someone sends me money, I don't have to go to the store to get it. I can do it right from the app and get it right there. It makes things a lot easier. I don't have to deal with running to the bank. The Anytime Alerts feature is very helpful as well, and from my experience, it's accurate.
I had one problem with Netspend recently wherein someone hacked my account. There were funds taken out of my account to another cash app made into my name, and they're still investigating my dispute. Because of the automated system, talking to someone can be difficult sometimes. However, the reps are friendly and kind, and they've always been helpful every time I've called. They help me to find a solution to my problem. Overall, I would recommend Netspend to people, so they can keep track of their finances and what they’re spending. It could be a little difficult if they come across a problem like the one I'm undergoing right now though. If someone was in need of those finances right away and they couldn't access them, then that'd be a problem, but other than that, they are good.

NETSPEND... nothing but problems the last 2 days. I have had an account with Netspend for the last 7 years. I got a text message at 1:34 pm on 3-4-2024 asking if I attempted a transaction for 50$ I said no... within 10-15 minutes tops someone hacked my account and made transactions for 3,000$. I called, had the payments canceled for 2 payments, got 2,000$ back and 1 transaction still in dispute. Well come 3-5-24 at 5:14 pm once again someone accessed my account for this time, 3,670$ was promised by the representative that it wasn't going to happen and my money was safe, well obviously it wasn't.
And now they put a temporary hold on my account because the person who hacked my account changed my password, phone number and email address on my account. They have complete access to it. I am a single mom. I need help getting my money back that your representatives keep telling me that it was safe. I am begging for help with this matter. 4,670$ is A LOT of money for me to lose out on.

Netspend has been good. I have a couple of direct deposits going on and it's a lot easier to manage my finances. They send me a text every time I use the card and tell me a balance. They also send me a text and tell me when a direct deposit's been made. I like that really well. I would tell people to use Netspend. It's convenient, and everybody takes it.

I had my phone hacked last year. And somehow, they got into my account. In the beginning, it was confusing. So, I didn't use Netspend's card for a year. I called them and they reimbursed me everything that was taken from me. So, my experience has been good this year. However, the fees are hard, especially when you make under $1,000 a month. But Netspend is reliable and they would fix an issue if there was one.

I had my Netspend card. But I don't think I should keep using it because I had some money on it and somebody hit me off with a thousand some dollars. I called Netspend and let them know that I had some money on my card. They investigated and said somebody used some Google account to take all the money. They said I should hear something back in March. And they were supposed to put my money back on my card. Other than that, Netspend is good to have because when you want to order stuff over there, it’s a good card to do it with. Also, I like my balance alert. That's the way I know when my money came in. And if I took something on my card, it would hit my phone.

I have a Direct Express Card that got misplaced. I was ordered the replacement card 5 days ago. They told me it would take two days. I paid the extra and I started my journey today to find out to track it down find out where it's at. Unfortunately no human being has ever spoke to me about this. After 15 phone calls at 5 days and extra money I am told by the machine at direct express that my card has been sent out today to Marion Illinois. Oh by the way I live in Royalton Illinois which has 1,000 people. Very small town and I have not received it.
It was sent to Marion so I called 4 hours later. Now I check again. Oh yeah the machine says it was delivered to Royalton. I've been home all day long. Nobody came here with my replacement card. So once again I try and try and call and call and get nothing but machines from UPS from the post office from Direct Express. Nobody wants to talk and now I have a promise that they already brought it here. What am I supposed to do people. I've got the camera. I promise that I would pay today. What am I supposed to do. You tell me.

The reps at Netspend were very friendly and cooperative. If you got a problem, they try to work with you to solve it. They worked with me and sent me another card within three to five days. I haven't had to pay any fees for the service other than the $3.97 for putting money on the card. That's reasonable. I was in Houston, Texas a couple of weeks ago, went to Chase and had to pay $5 to use their ATM. Netspend is a lot cheaper.

I've learned to save a little bit using Netspend. I've been using them for 18 months on this job and I haven't had a problem with them. I never had to wait on anything. You put money on the card at the store and you can use it right then and there. I never had any problem about anybody using my money.

I've always liked Netspend. I would put money on the card but normally, I do direct deposit. With them, you get your money sooner as expected and their customer service is great. The phone app is easy to use and you get all the details on there. You also get rewards and cashback, and I don't mind the fees they charge because it’s only a couple of dollars.

I opened my Netspend account in January 2024. Closed it March 2024. Why? Well, after my initial 2 deposits, they decided to start declining further deposits for no reason. I reached out to customer support and the answer had nothing to do with the issue I asked about. So, I replied to clarify the problem and I was completely ignored. After a week of waiting, I withdrew my funds and closed my account. Only to receive an email there was a problem with my account. No kidding? I responded to verify and explain why. Another useless reply came from them. Look, Netspend is totally not worth the hassle and they have the absolute worst customer support I have ever seen anywhere ever!

There seems to be a glitch in your system that keeps me from transferring money from my debit card to Netspend, and while your customer service reps have done all they can the problem remains unresolved for two weeks now. It seems to me to be a problem for someone with IT experience.

They gave me the runarounds through all different departments just to have them split my money into two different cards and I had to wait for the replacement card with my other funds on it and I'm not happy at all. They're going to lose a valuable customer and they're not going to like that. It only happens when it's tax season.

I was given this card by my employer as there was discrepancy in my pay. I was assured that once I received the new pay card I would simply call to activate it and my money would be made available to me. I spent hours trying to get it activated as the automated system was not functioning correctly. They stated the card they sent was not linked to the account that had the money. So, I was told I would have to be sent a money gram.
The first representative told me to go to CVS to receive the money gram. I went to 2 separate stores. Both times an error message was received stating to call the sender, which in this case would be NetSpend. I called again and was told to go to Walgreens. So I did and again was told to call NetSpend. Then the representative I spoke with told me to go to Seven Eleven or Walmart. Well I went to both stores. The worker at Walmart turned her screen around and I could clearly see the error message saying NetSpend did not send the funds correctly and to call the sender.
So after going to 5 locations I called again and was told the funds could not be put back on the account because it was sent to money gram. I became frustrated at this point and explained that I could not get the money gram. I was not driving to yet another store knowing it would still show an error. Finally I was put in contact with a supervisor who put the funds back on the account. But they had to issue another NetSpend card because the card they sent was still not linked to the correct account.
I have now spent over 3hrs driving from place to place, being put on hold, being told to try again, and being told the money was essentially in limbo. After the first time, I stated the money gram did not work, they could have put the money back on the account, or after the third or fourth or fifth time. They could have sent the correct card that was linked to the account. They could have taken so many steps that would not have resulted in a 3-hour ordeal. My wife uses NetSpend and states that while she has had some issues, nothing like this has happened to her. I suggest NetSpend train their employees on the processes available to them to handle such issues as the ones I faced. It should not have taken me jumping through hoops and balancing a ball on my nose to finally be given the correct information.

NetSpend is better than a regular bank account. They take care of their customers and they're very thorough. If there are any issues or any breaches of account, they will let the customer know. Also, for the most part, you're able to speak to someone directly any time you call. And they're very knowledgeable and if there's any problem and they don't know the answer, they figure it out for you. I'm very satisfied with them.

I've been with Netspend for a while and I've been through a lot of changes with them. The customer service was okay but I don't even wanna talk to them anymore. I just want to talk straight to the supervisor. That's how I roll. I get it done myself. I had a problem when I first moved over to my apartment complex. They allowed the complex to take money out of my account. I paid too much on my rent and Netspend didn't wanna give me the other part back. So, they ended up losing it or saying that they applied it to something else, which they never did. They had errors on my account that were out of this world. It didn't get back on track because what made it so bad was Netspend took it out of my account and gave it to them and then took it back out and did it again.
The whole issue of the $180 that was missing never got resolved because it took them four years to try and tell me where that money went. I was thinking about making a dispute with Netspend. In the long run, I ended up losing. It shouldn't have been me losing. I didn't give them the money. That was an ordeal but Netspend has gotten better. I like the Anytime Alerts feature of Netspend because there were a couple of times when people were using my card in San Francisco and Washington D.C. while I was talking to the rep on the phone. I had a solid dispute, letting them know that it wasn't me doing it. It took about a month to get the money back.

My experience with Netspend has been excellent. The fees are reasonable. I've been with them for years now since I retired. They always give me a heads-up if there are some fraudulent activities with my money that's in the card that I use with them. And I haven’t had any issues with them.

I've noticed that you've raised the fee to load money on the card and I don't like being charged a dollar when a company tries to get a payment and I don't have enough funds to cover it. I will file a claim with the BBB, and I will not use this card again. Netspend claims with a logo that it is a Visa card. Visa should cover this dispute. A merchant took my money and didn't deliver the product I ordered. Netspend has a Visa logo on the card. Visa always covers the customer when the customer is a victim of fraud.

I refer everybody to Netspend. I'm on my third card and they sent me a new card with a chip. They told me I was a valued customer but I had some problems with the billing issue and then, with my phone. They couldn't automatic withdraw. It messed me up. But my old card is still good till 2027. So I'm gonna use that one today and it'll go to the month. Then I'll try to figure out this other one. It's got some instructions and I just have to figure it out. I don't use the Netspend app. I just call in and then, they notified me how much was on my card this morning on my phone.

And I receive my direct deposits early every week so that helps if I'm behind with things or I just happen to need access to my check a little earlier than usual. I've had a great experience with Netspend. I've been with them since the early 2000s, and I cannot complain about them. They always did good. If there was a suspicious purchase, they make sure to let me know, and if it wasn't me, they always refunded my money. Customer service has been great as well. Anything I ever asked, they made sure they either got the answer for it or searched for the answer. I usually utilize a reload location, but there have been times that I did a direct deposit with them and I haven't had any problem. The funds are available within seven minutes.

I enjoy using Netspend. I go to either Walmart or Kroger for the reload locations, and the process is very easy. Netspend has always been reliable to me as well. They keep me informed on transactions when I make them and if I have any problems, I can always call in. The customer service has been very good. I lost my wallet one time and they were very helpful and got me another card out. I've been very happy with Netspend and very pleased with their service. I was paying my Comcast bill online with my Netspend card and the money didn't go through. I followed some prompts, because I pay on my TV, and somehow, I got hooked up with a line that was a fraud. I paid the money, then it appeared to be paid, and it popped back up unpaid. And I never could get my money back, so I tried to call Netspend have them cancel it. They could do a lot of change and they said they were investigating. I waited but then they said that they couldn't do anything about it, so I was out $280. That hurt my feelings because they knew exactly where the money went by the information I told them.
Their customer service was terrible because they could never make anything right. I made a charge and when the company kept trying to charge my card without my verification, Netspend wouldn't allow it. But they would contact me and when I try to tell them to stop it, I have to get a whole new card. I got tired of doing it. I used to get money regularly and every time when I get my check, I put $200 or $300 on my Netspend card. But I stopped using them. I use Cash App now which is much easier and I can lock my card.

We had a problem with Walmart.com, and they were trying to take the money early. It's been stopped, which I'm glad. But I had to call Netspend and then get it approved. Overall, they're a good company. The only problem I have is how you log on the app and you see your balance and sometimes they send me through my text message. But it'd be good to have a swipe bar. Just swipe across it so it can give you balance. Instead of putting my password every time.

When you put money on the Netspend card, it's only a few seconds and it's there. However, when I went to put money on my card, it wouldn't take it. I had to wait till I got home and call them to see what was wrong. The issue was somebody tried to use my card so they put a freeze on it. I'm good about that but I couldn't understand why wouldn't they call me so I'd know. They got the number. I wasted car fare going to the place, putting the money on it but couldn't. They issued me a new card and everything was fine after that. I had to wait for the card to come which didn't take too long so that was great.

Netspend is a good company to go through. I really like their customer service. I like the fact that you can just have a card shipped back to you or a renewal card within one to two business days or it doesn't take more than a week to come in through regular mail. They're good on their security. The longest it's ever taken to get refunded was two weeks. Their rates are good too. As far as being able to use it at an ATM, it's not expensive.

Not received my card was locked because someone tried to use. Was told I would be sent another card with new numbers. It has been more than four weeks, I called customer service and had no luck, agent speech was not clear and I had to repeat myself multi times.

Netspend has one advantage that works for me. My money is put into them. Most people who are scammers don't even know Netspend exists. Therefore, I don't have to worry about somebody getting into my account. I've had an excellent experience where I've never had any problem. My money is handled correctly. I have no restrictions. I can withdraw my money whenever they're needed. My January Social Security check would generally hit the bank on the 3rd. It was in Netspend on the 28th of December. Their fees don't run over. I pay three bucks. I had one case that I had to have resolved. I asked what it was with the transactions that I didn't make. That was immediately taken care of by Netspend, within 24 hours. The funds were put back into my account.

In today's life, you need to have a card and you have to have a bank to spend your money and pay bills and do the stuff you need to do. So, it's been a good experience. At first, I was wondering why I was being charged for everything through Netspend. But since I'm a businessman now, I gotta understand that they have to make their money as well. So, I was trying to do things where I could at least minimize how my money was being spent. I have direct deposit set up and I was just given my retirement money that I requested. Dealing with the customer service reps is good. It’s just understanding one another.

I gotta figure out how can I use my Netspend card without paying a fee every time I use it. I haven't put much on it because they charge me a $1.95 fee every time I put money on it. If you refer a friend, you get $40. I have tried to go to the website and try to add a friend but I couldn't get into that to actually do that. I was also trying to look for where they say you pay one set monthly rate for your card, but I wasn't able to get into that to use that either.

I can't access my Netspend app. It closes immediately before I get to the login page every damn time. I cleared the cache and my phone's memory multiple times. I uninstalled the app then downloaded it again multiple times. I've never had any problems until like a week ago or so. Is it my old galaxy phone (2018)? Or is it the stupid app? Somebody please help me.

I love my bank being you. I would like to have more loading options available as well as more options for depositing checks. Being able to get a cashier's check would be awesome as well. I love the customer support and the care you provide. I wish the app was more user friendly such as the inbox and transferring between tabs. I know I do not want to bank anywhere else.

Do NOT buy your loved ones a prepaid card from this company. I have been on hold for 32 minutes and twice they have told me my card is activated for "limited use" and it still doesn't work. The representatives barely speak English. They want your social, date of birth, etc. just to use the "gift card" I received. Terrible customer service. I'm beginning to think this is a scam and I may never get the $200 that was loaded to this card. So disappointing.

I'm very upset with Netspend because the money was taken off my card, and I disputed it but I haven't received none of my money back. I've gotta wait for it to be investigated. They've seen where the money was taken on my card but when I called the places that the money supposedly went to, they tell me that they've already released the money and it's not going back on my card for some reason. I've only had one update. It's been since October and I still haven't got my money back. It's $252. They said I have to just keep waiting until it's done going through the process. It kind of upsets me because they didn't wait for months to take the money off my card. Why should I have to wait months to get my money back? As far as my card, I love it.

I've always used HEB and I never had a problem with it. I can go to HEB and I can load it and it doesn't charge me. If I go somewhere else, it charges me but it's not too bad. There are other fees that I sometimes have to pay, but they're not a big deal. I always tell friends to buy it and that it's a good card. I've used other cards and it's a no for me. I'll never use anything else other than Netspend from here on out.

My card was blocked for security purposes to confirm a purchase. I called to unblocked the card and was told by fraud department is was unblocked to try use it 2 hrs later and it’s still blocked. I called again and this guy that doesn’t speak much English get in the phone and was very rude to me and I ask his name and he ignored me and hung up. This type of service is completely unacceptable and it makes me not want to deal with Netspend business any longer. I’ve been a customer for over ten years and the people that answer these phones does not appreciate their job.

This company is who my job goes thru for our deposits or I'd already canceled it. The customer service is the absolute worst. No communication between, the company or the card. If you're lucky they will email you a week later, if money comes up missing out of your account you will not get it back, they also cancel your card which they don't tell you about until after, they don't mail you another card unless you order it and pay 10$ for it, or you can order multiple custom cards for them to reject and charge you 5$ for. Meanwhile you still have no money and no access to it.

With Netspend, I get prompt notifications as far as deposits or anything that I've used on it. But when I call customer service, their system keeps referring me saying, "Just go to the app if you want to check your account information." So, I'm like, "No, I want to speak to a human." That's the only thing I don't care for. Other than that, I'm totally satisfied with my experience. They have always been helpful and friendly. I'm usually confused when I'm calling and the reps are always really cool with me and let me understand what's going on.

I'm very upset with Netspend. I explained to them that my account was hacked by my granddaughter. Brinks also cut in and said that they were going to close my account with them and Netspend. I was hurting that they called me a liar when I didn't do anything. I would have rather that Brinks and Netspend get together and get information before they accuse a person. My money was confiscated and my account was gone without my permission.
But I had enjoyed my Netspend card. I've had it for a while, and I enjoyed the fact that I could load it up and pay whatever I needed to pay. No one never ever had a problem or said, “We don't load Netspend.” It was always a convenience for me. Now I’m without that and I am between a rock and a hard place. It hurts that I can't have my card because it has been a great help to me.

Netspend has been reliable so far. It's never failed me. I use it all the time. It's got low monthly fees on it. But I had to get a new card and I'm not able to get the normal amount I was able to get. I'm gonna have to contact them and see if I can get that straightened up. Worst experience ever and unfortunately after 5 days, I’m still trying to get access to my money on a pre-paid card. I wish I would have looked at the current reviews on this company because every issue is the same. They took my money and won’t activate my card. I spent 2 hours again today trying to get a supervisor just so they could hang up, act like they couldn’t hear me or kept putting me to the automated system to restart everything all over again. I will be taking this to the Better Business Bureau and going to let everyone else that had their money stolen from this company to do the same. Do not get this prepaid card. I’m warning you now, it won’t end up good.

As a Netspend customer of nearly 10 years. I have continued using netspend for their reliability, accuracy, and consistency. I have yet to have a single issue while using netspend. And when my card was lost and unfortunately had been fraudulently used. Netspend was clearly concerned, and assured me that my account was safe, and will be reviewed immediately. And in no time the fraudulent withdrawal was released back into my account. I tried call and get new card activated and that didn't work. I couldn't understand the customer representative. He barely spoke English. I've used NetSpend for years and never had a problem. I have had this card for 10+ years. I got paid on 11/28 and proceeded to buy groceries and pay bills. Forward to 11/30 when I tried to get money to pay my mortgage. My account was closed for fraudulent activity. I didn’t realize paying the same bills I paid on my card for years was fraudulent. I was told it would be 10 business days to receive my refund. This is absolutely ridiculous. I should be given the option to do transfer to remove my funds from the account. I now have no access to my paycheck to cover gas or any other expenditure.

I've been with Netspend and I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world. Some fraud happened with my card back in 2020 to where Netspend gave me all my money back. I had to change my card and pin number. Almost close to $1000. I thought I had the Anytime Alert. At one time, I had it, but I don't have it anymore. Since I've been back here in Michigan, it has been a few times I didn't get the notification that would say it's being processed. The last of couple times, they just put it on there and I see it. And they would tell me it's being processed, and they would tell me the amount it is. But I've seen the last couple of months now, they just put it on there and not give me a notification. But it has always been around the same time, between the hours of 1:30 and 2:00 on the day I'm supposed to get paid off.
I've been using the direct deposit since 2018. It's very helpful. The thing I don't like is every time I use it, they take $2 from me and only give me a $10 overdraft. A $10 overdraft is fine. It's just a $2 fee every time you use the card. So a lot of times, I just take all my money off the card. But I pay my phone bill on the card. So, whatever they charge me for doing it off my card they charge me an extra $2 for every transaction. Other than that, the reps have been very polite and respectful.

Netspend's Anytime Alerts come in very handy. I'm a frequent user of that. You text your card number and they send you back the balance. Any time your card has been used, it shows where it's been used, what it's been used for and how much. In case somebody else is using your card and you don't know anything about it, you get alert on that. That's very helpful for me. I also use the reloadables and it's very easy because it's more than one location close to me. It's not a hassle or you have to pay a major fee. It's simpler, and I like simple and non-complicated.
I always get somebody to talk to, and they help me out with what I need. I had a problem with my account once and the reps explained exactly what I needed to do and what happened. But I am wondering if some cards come with a chip in them. I got a card with a chip in it and I have one without. The card I have without a chip, when I first received it, I was having problems using it out in the public but after a while, everything was fine.

I've been banking with Netspend since 2016 and for the last few days, it's been a nightmare. My checking account has been compromised twice, back-to-back and they are not doing anything to protect my account. I do not get any answers how this is happening nor have the ability to speak with a manager. I've had a total of $1450 stolen from me and no results. I have changed my username and password about 10 times in the last 4 days. I DO NOT Recommend using netspend. Saving you the headache.

Netspend is expensive. It's a good card, but if it's gonna cost 18% to spend $10, the interest rate seems quite high. They also don't apply the purchases for credit ratings. I thought Netspend would have a positive effect on my credit, but it didn't, so I just put it by the wayside.

I've been with Netspend for a long time and when I had a problem many years ago, I called and a representative took care of it right away. Since then, I have never had a problem and whatever they told me that they'd do, they did it. Having the card is a way to make sure you don't mess your money up. When it's time to pay your bill, you pay on your card. And you got some people that take money off the card, which is good. Also, the fee is not really that high. It only costs 3.95 to load your card. They put the letter out saying that they charge now to take money off, but I don't really care because it doesn't really matter.

I love Netspend. I've been with them for a long time and it's cool. Everything is okay. I don't get stuck doing anything. I don't have problems changing the password. Once every four months, I would cancel my card and get another one due to hackers. I get social security, so there are two checks. One check is $34 and then the other check is nine something, and they're both direct deposit. I get the little one first, and then I get the bigger one. The other one is a couple of days later, which would be the one for the third. The one for the first would be the $29 check. Netspend is really good.

It's always guaranteed that my check is on the card on the two days prior to my payday. The transaction and receiving my check with direct deposit are flawless, so I would highly recommend it. I love Netspend. I get direct deposit and I usually get paid a couple days earlier than just waiting for my disability check. It is so easy to add money and a reasonable fee. I get my tax refund direct deposited as well. I do not have a bank account and this way I don't have the hassle of getting a check cashed which is almost impossible without a bank account. I really enjoy netspend and would highly recommend it to anyone. I actually have two of them so I can keep better track of some of the bills I have to pay monthly. If you need to pay anything with a visa this is the way to do it.

I've had this Netspend account since October 2021 and I've only had to use it for things that I buy online. It's the only way I make use of the account and card both when I can't get to places to buy the same items online. If anything I would recommend netspend to anybody I know regardless of what they already use.

After 14 years, Netspend turned on me. I get a monthly check from VA - and have been disabled for over a year. I used Venmo to pay my rent for 36 consecutive months no problem. Last month they declined it & set a daily transaction limit shy of my rent. I NEVER abused that account, but they said my transaction was suspicious (& the 35 other months weren’t suspicious). Customer Service had to Western Union me my rent money because my account was locked for 30 days. "It was a system glitch," they said.
I was late for rent & had to pay a late fee (NS did compensate me). Closed my account because I’m too sick to run around looking for Western Unions, write 50 emails & wait 2 days to speak to someone just to pay my rent. My Customer Experience Agent was great but I’m no drama - the hoops I went through last month were ridiculous. I closed the account & she promptly refunded my money.
Wait. It gets worse. This month VA accidentally sent my deposit to the Netspend account. Uugghh. VA called on the 26th when they caught the error. VA told me I need to call Netspend to claim the deposit if I closed my Netspend account. The customer service agent reassured me (and I recorded it) that Netspend REJECTED my deposit - they never received it. Give it a few days and check with VA.
Today, VA messaged me to say they received notification that Netspend had received my direct deposit and the money was deposited to my account. I called Netspend. Netspend said they’re not allowed to return it until the 1st -another lie- (recorded that too) - and they would send it back in 6 business days. He said they would send it today.
Yeah. No. I don’t believe them. My landlord doesn’t either. She depends on rent as much as I depend on my check (only Netspend now thinks they own your money & can do anything they want). Long story short. My landlord cannot wait past the 10th. VA said there’s no way they can get it to me by then if they don’t receive it back. So, Netspend got their wish. They kicked a sick 60 year old military widow out into her 11 year old car with no heater! My crime? Being too nice last month and working with them! Run!!!!

I absolutely love Netspend. Something just happened to me, and they were on top of that in an instant. I was going to order something, and something popped up and said, “Did you just try to order $198 in Florida for something?” I live in Connecticut and I said, “No. That totally was not me.” I blocked the card right then and there, and I was so grateful for Netspend.
I was on the phone with them for quite a while ‘cause they had to get me a new card and put my money over to the new card and help me. I'm so illiterate with the phone and how to do things over the phone, and the rep walked me through everything, from the point of them knowing that somebody tried to take my money. That's $198, and I only had $400 in the bank. I thanked the rep so much at the end, because I don't think any other place would have done that kind of work.

I have an issue with their customer service. It is annoying that people don't understand English. It takes up a lot of time to get the request done properly. There's a loss of translation somewhere, and it's very frustrating when you're dealing with your finances. Especially with that type of card. It's for a special reason, and the customer service is lacking in that regard with the communication skills. Other than that, my experience with Netspend has been excellent. I can transfer funds within minutes. The alerts on my cell phone come in in seconds. I can buy something and I'm standing there and it goes, “Ding!”

Using the Netspend card has been good and I would highly recommend it. I use it a lot when I do grocery and pay bills and it has worked out well. The Anytime Alert is great. Anytime you do a transaction, you immediately get a response and it tells you how much has been taken out and what your balance is. The reload center is great too and the cash is available in less than an hour.

I love the convenience of having direct deposit and if needed the overdraft option as well as the security features that helps keep me feel protected. The fact that I was able to keep my old card in the event chip readers done work. I would and have referred this card to everyone. Netspend charges too much. They have a third party taking $1.50 and then they're taking whatever they need to pay their bill. When I put money on the card, they charged me $3 and something to put $50 in. Then, when it's time to pay the bill, they're gonna charge me again. I don't like that at all. It adds up every time I pay a bill. The reps are knowledgeable and NetSpend is good for whoever would wanna have them. But I'd rather use my own bank and checking and savings account. I would rather use my own card too. That way, I won't be charged.

Netspend is quicker and more accurate but it works the same as any other card. I like it because as soon as something gets taken off of there, Netspend alerts me on my phone. They send me a text within seconds, which I like. But you can load just $999 a day. It'll be good if you can load about 2,000 a day. Sometimes you can't get in touch with their customer service. The phone just rings. But most of the time, it is good when you do get in touch. Netspend should get some better English-speaking people though. You don't even understand what they're saying.

I love Netspend. They take very good care of me. I went to banks and they charged me more money than I made in overdrafts. And if I didn't have enough money to cover something, they would not cover it, and charge me some horrendous amount. Netspend doesn't do any of that. So, if I slip up on something, they got an overdraft protection that covers me. And if it's not enough, they don't charge me extra. It's the most fantastic opportunity I've had in dealing with a company that treats me fairly. My Social Security checks would come faster than they would come in the mail, and directly on my check. And every time I spend something, it would tell me how much I have left and how much I have available. It's great. I don't have to remember how to add or subtract to it for me. Most of my family has Netspend.

Whenever I spend money, I like it 'cause Netspend would text me and it would show how much I spent, where I spent it, and how much I had remaining. They were also positive when I had a question about my account a couple of times. They would explain it to me and I'd understand. It was always good.

My experience with Netspend has been good so far. I haven't had any problems. Netspend has better options than the other ones. It has low overdraft fees. It has certain free ATM withdrawals and free money transfers from one to another. I like that you also get your direct deposit two days ahead of time. However, they have this $5 thing every month that you have to pay and it comes out of your money. Sometimes I would be short of money because we didn't know. I wish they would stop doing it.

I would not recommend Netspend to my worst enemy. They don’t care about their jobs. They are there just to tell you the same thing every time you call them. I purchased a few Netspend prepaid cards and I have tried for months now to get my money from them because they froze them. I have sent them all the information they have requested and they will tell me they have 14 day turnaround time every time I call them, it’s the same thing and I wait another 14 days just to hear the same thing. I cannot get my own money back that I loaded to their cards and it’s very frustrating. I would have never thought that it would happen to me but it so don’t believe the good reviews outweigh the bad ones because it just might be you next time.

Having Netspend has been great so far. I've just had one problem on Google Pay. But eventually, I got it resolved. I also had a compromise that was my fault. I said, “No,” and I meant yes. And they got me a new card right away. Get NetSpend. They've been very good.

I don't like Netspend anymore. I purchased $20 to get gas and another $15, then a $20, and I don't see how that came up to $118. I don't know if they charged $20 for transaction fees, and customer service was not really helpful. I have direct deposit, and they just took $118 out of my check this month. I'm going to another bank next month.

I use my Netspend card when some place requires a card to pay a bill or when I order something. I was a victim of identity theft twice. It was a bank card and a bank credit card. So, I chose not to have one and just use prepaid cards when I need one. When I checked balance on the card, besides the fee for using it, it was not correct. It was less than I should have had in there. They were supposed to put the money for a wrong prescription back on the card, but it didn't happen right away. It took a while. But it got straightened out.

I've been with Netspend for about five years. It's a good gig. The only thing is I'm an online shopper, and if they catch something that's out of my spending gig, it's a hassle because they shut down my card. Also, I usually have to deal with a foreigner. I got no problems with foreigners, but I can't understand them and they can't hear me. I had to deal with team at Netspend when I was at the liquor store and I needed a drink, and they were like, “Oh, God, Brett. Your card is denied!” I said, “Run it again” and then I went outside and called Netspend. The only thing that upset me was it was a foreigner and it was gonna take forever, so I was like, “Okay. I made that charge. Just put…” and he said, “No, you already told me that you didn't.”
Other than that, I'm on Social Security and if there are 31 days, I'll get paid on the 29th of the month before. It's always like that. I get any time alert. If somebody happened to take my card, it will pop right up, and then I can see where they are and it will tell me how much was spent and at what business. Netspend is always there for me, and I promote them.

I got a couple of cards with Netspend. Each one of them helps me pay off different bills. I travel a lot, so one of them is strictly for when I spend the money, to save up for when I go out of town. I use Anytime Alerts. I get deals all the time, like when I load money. Or sometimes, people owe me money, they'll cash it into my Netspend account. Sometimes, when my boss has a chance to do it, they'll put it on my account. However, I had times when I needed to talk to somebody and I couldn't get through. It would take forever and a day. It would get on my nerves, especially when I was trying to take care of business.

Everything has been nice. My Netspend card was breached a couple of times, and they got right on it and sent me a new card. I'm glad to have the card. We went on vacation to see one of my sons graduate. After we left, we went to a dinner and I gave them my American Express card after dinner was over. The guy went in the back and stayed a while and we were wondering why he was taking so long. But he came back and he gave me my card back. We came up to Richmond and about a week later, I was at Home Depot buying some stuff on a Saturday morning and somebody was using my card in Anaheim. A rep called and let me know. Luckily, I have a Lifelock.
Recently, I bought a part for our LG dishwasher and I used my Netspend card. Somehow the part got lost, and they’re still looking for it. When I went to the parts store where I purchased it, nobody did anything to sit down on the whole deal. So I had to call the corporate office this morning. I got it straightened out and I hope to put my money back on my Netspend card.

I have a pay-as-you-go card that I got through H-E-B and I use that a lot for my online shopping to avoid fraud. There are quite a bit of fees when you do a credit or debit purchase. If those fees are lowered, that would be nice. Other than that, I like the convenience of NetSpend. There's always an ATM nearby that takes the card. Plus, the customer service they provide is amazing every time I call in like when I need to get a balance inquiry or I'm not able to get into my mobile app. I recommend you get a NetSpend card right away.

I bought a NetSpend debit visa and when I set it up, it was not money in the card however, the company asked for Social security number, address, birthdate, phone number, email. Even though the receptionist told me that it was not money in my new card, he insisted to ask for a bank account info, I said, "Stop. You already told me that it is not money in my card, why do you want my info?"

The features of NetSpend like anytime alerts and account transfers are very convenient. I go to Walgreens when I load my card. Something happened with the loading of the card one time. I loaded the card but it didn't show me that it was loaded, so I had to call customer service to see what was the problem. Another time, I had to call them because I wanted to check on why we have to be charged when we load the card and when we use the card. So they explained that too because it was the type of plan that I have still. Now, when I use the card, it's a charge. The fees are not that significant. But, those small fees can add up. But they're fine because I don't use it that often.

My doctor's office went to no cash so we have to use the Netspend card. Everything is handy and smooth. However, it's $4 every time I put money on my card and when I use my card, they charge $2.

For starters the card and banking isn't great. Other places such as dave, chime, and greendot offer better options. They charge you monthly charge and still you get charged stuff like at the atm I get charged $3.50 from the atm and from them but if I don't pay the monthly subscription then I also have to pay every single time I use the card. I have been with Netspend for over 6 years now, at first I didn’t mind it because I liked the card I had, it has my son and niece as a pic on it and I liked the fact I got paid 2 sometimes 3 days early, but everything else was not so likable.
Ever since then issues left and right, they block transactions I make and make it hard for me, the ones I don’t make they let go through and then I have to dispute them. I had asked them about one of the transactions made on my card. It was only for $2.99 and I told them I did not think I made it. All I wanted them to do was let me know what we could do about it. I didn’t go into the dispute thing, I just wrote them a normal email. They blocked my card, canceled it and sent me a new one. I was so pissed because I needed to go and do some shopping. I needed stuff for the next day. I called and told them I did not want to block, It was not frauded and they refused to turn it on. I asked them if there was a way to get my money out so I could use it and they told me no I had to wait for my card.
This is not the first time I have had to deal with bull crap from them. One time somebody had frauded my card for $150 and they canceled it which was fine because they had actually asked and confirmed with me and I said yes, but then they did not make it clear that I had to send some stuff in and then call them on a certain day so then I ended up having to wait almost 6 months to get that money back because apparently I didn’t call them with information on a certain day, and when I told them that they didn’t tell me about what I had to do they argued with me and said too bad basically.
Once I get my money off my card and I am switching all my stuff to my new card and I am done with Netspend! I am canceling my cards and I’m done. I know some people have a better experience, but in my opinion you can get better options elsewhere. For instance, try chime. It is a better card, they don’t have all these crappy fees and they help you build credit and they have something that helps you so you can borrow money and then pay it back out of your check. My opinion that right there alone is already better than this card.

I really like Netspend. The nice part is that I get my Social Security check way early. I've had a few issues but they get resolved. A couple of times, I've had to have new cards because they found an issue they didn't like. They closed the previous one out because they thought it was not like me to do transactions like those they found. They were right on top of it and let me know.
I have to wait for the new card but the nice part about it is that I can still use my account. If I need money, I can transfer it to a person who has Netspend. My daughter has one and so does my son-in-law. They're very on top of things. Using reload locations is also very convenient. I don't have to run to find a place to put it on. I have one right across the street.

Netspend is very reliable. And if you have a problem, it might take them a while but they will take care of it. I use Cash App because I’m my son's payee, and when I sent him his money, my card got locked for suspicious activity. But once I called Netspend and let them know it was me doing it, they unlocked it.

If it's something I plan on getting, I just put it on my Netspend card and then I use it that way. I've used it several times, and I have gas card on my Netspend account and it's easier to use. Just go there at the pump and don't have to go inside. Any time I use my card, I get alert on it. And if they see anything that doesn't sound right, I get that alert too. I love those. When I had to talk to people, it has been perfect. They would get to the bottom of my problem and straighten it out for me, or if I had to, I would get another card.

I've reloaded money in Walmart a couple of times before but I’d rather use direct deposit. I can immediately access the money and I don't have to go into the store and do it. It's easy for me to just get it directed to the card so I can just use it instantly. I use the Anytime Alerts feature and it’s very convenient. My experience with Netspend has been positive. I bought it to use for online purchases and paying my bills online. I have the Anytime Alerts. They're very convenient. I go to a store and load it with cash. One thing I am finding inconvenient though is, when I first got the card, it loaded instantly. Now, I have to wait 30 minutes for my funds to be on the card. But it's easy to find a reload location. There are two stores here in the small town I live in that I can reload at.
I just give them the cash and then there's a load fee of $3. Then I swipe the card. Then I've got to wait 30 minutes for the funds to be on. Usually, I'll get a notification telling me what my balance on the card is before my load, and that the funds will be loaded in 30 minutes. I contacted them one time to reactivate a card because my original card got called up for fraud alert. And they caught it, and it was not a payment trying to be made by me. We cancelled out that card and I ordered a new card. I got my replacement card back very quickly.

I've been with Netspend for a little over 12 years, and I like it. I've never had problems or issues with them. The tools are easy to access and manage, and the reps have been great. If I ever have a question, I just contact them and they normally attend to me and answer my questions. I have Netspend for the debit card, and I've used the reload locations. It's easy. Also, at different stores, sometimes they offer small percentages where if I use my card, I get 10% off from the item that I'm buying.

They've been very helpful especially with the notifications. I have a lot of autopay set up on my bills and when a bill gets paid, I get a notification that there has been a payment on my account. I will definitely give a strong C. There's still a issue on security. Security needs improvement. Using stronger methods, ex: when requesting a pin. Mailing a security envelope and a tracking scan will be awesome. Online theft is increasing. Eavesdropping is increasing as well. Replacing the card is important also. Replace the card on time is extremely important as well.

I tried both online and on the phone to get it corrected, but was told by both parties that they could not do it. The other one should. The services provided are good, but when I run low on funds the $10 dollar padding doesn't help out as much lately. Times are harder now. But overall the services are good. A friend told me once about opting in for a $100 padding, but I'm not sure if this is still available for NetSpend customers or not.

Also, I had two different cards in which when I was asked for the telephone number for one card, I was told that that was incorrect and had to call back again. I've been a Netspend customer for 7 years. My payroll is direct deposited into my card account. On July 18, I had a fraudulent charge come through from Brooklyn, NY. I immediately called and canceled my card and requested a new one. On August 4th, I attempted to buy something on Amazon, and my card was declined. Upon calling Netspend I learned that my account was blocked due to an attempt to charge $1K at Target in Brooklyn, NY. I live in Delaware, I have never even been to Brooklyn NY. I again canceled my new card, changed my password and went about my day. About 4 hours later I received a text that ANOTHER ATTEMPT was made and WAS SUCCESSFUL on a VIRTUAL CARD that someone went into my account and created. 2 more charges in Brooklyn, NY were allowed to post effectively draining my account. Total charges almost $700.
I called several times to resolve and filed a dispute with the fraud department, at which time I was told in 10 days I would receive a response and a credit. After waiting 10 days, on August 18th, I went into my account and saw that my claim was closed with a status of "No credit Issued". $700 worth of LEGITIMATE FRAUD CHARGES and my claim was closed and I did not get my money back. When I called to find out why, the reason I was given was that I "did not make sufficient attempts to stop or report the fraud". I feel like I am living in the Twilight Zone! I have notes on every phone call, 3 different cards canceled due to fraudulent charges, an email that I sent documenting everything, and my claim was STILL denied. I have never even been to Brooklyn, NY. I asked to speak to a fraud supervisor and was denied.
I was told "the protocol is for customer service to send an email to the fraud analyst that handled your claim and they will call you in 10 days". Another 10 days to wait and most likely be told I am not going to receive my credit. I have been a good customer. I have a good job and make good money. I am educated. This is unconscionable to me that money is allowed to be stolen and the bank does not protect nor make their customers whole again. They are FDIC insured. I have filed a dispute with the BBB, the FDIC, the FTC and I will be posting this information everywhere I can so that others do not fall victim to this Company's shady business practices.

Updated on 09/21/2023: I already have had problems with them. They wouldn't let me access my own money. Now I get send a new card even when I told them I did not want one. I just want a check sent with my money. Now they want me to supply more personal information. One thing they "need" is my current paystub. Now this is a prepaid card! Why do you need that for me to access my own money? They have already ripped me off over $100 that I had originally put on the card. Now the remaining, I STILL cannot access. I don't have a paycheck. That is why I need my money! This company just keeps ripping me off time after time. So the original $150 I had put on there is suddenly around $40 without me EVER being able to access my account. They took my money! They won't give me a check. This is such a horrible company. Such a SCAM.
Original Review: I purchased a Netspend card. I did not activate or use it for over a year due to it being saved in my wedding items. I attempted to activate it online. The online site would not let me. I tried the phone system. It would not let me. I had to talk to customer service. They said the card was restricted and could not be used. But it had over $48 on it. They did not even need my name to offer me this information. In order to lift the restriction, my name, address, telephone number, email, and social security number were requested. I gave the information. I was told that I could not lift the restriction and access my money that I had put on that card without sending in my social security number (I had just given that to them), a copy of my license, and proof of address. This needs to be mailed in. After that, there is a waiting period before the card is unlocked.
This information in the form of paperwork is not required to use a new card. OR I can give them money for a new card, without needing this proof. The money from this card would be transferred to the new card. Pay them and no information is needed. Just give them money. Do not pay them and send in paperwork and wait until they feel like allowing access to money. If they feel like it. I do not feel that this is acceptable.

I applied with Netspend online and it was approved in 5 minutes or 10. I use the card for shopping and I reload it online. It's good and it saves money.

Ever since I used Netspend, I've been in love with it. I like the direct deposit and it's really trustworthy. To add money to the card is super easy, too. Their reps are awesome as well.

At first, I was going to leave Netspend because every time I go to the store, I'm paying $3 to $5 to spend money on my card. They finally told me when I said I was leaving that I can get a different plan where I just pay $5 a month. I told them I want to start in September because it's already the end of the month, and the little bit of money I have up there, I didn't want them to start until September. But they took the money out already, so it's $5 a month now. Overall, I like Netspend, but I didn't like the plan I had.

I made a payment for my rent w/ my NetSpend Skylight One card, it had gone through, then was returned to me. I didn't think much of it at first because by the time I noticed it, I had been paid again by my work. I made the payment again for my rent, being sure that it would absolutely go through this time. To make sure, I called the number on the back of the card to let them know I authorize that payment for my rent. It went through & I have a screenshot saying it had been processed and "paid". My wife, being pregnant & a little paranoid about the rent now, decided to check the rent website again and it showed that it had been returned yet again. So I took cash out that day & would take the remainder out the next day to pay my rent in person, not wanting to risk being evicted.
The next day my card & account were frozen. When I called customer service, they said it was do to suspicious activity. I explained to them that I was simply trying to pay my rent & needed access to my account because I also had other bills coming up. They said they could not unfreeze it & I would have to get a new card in 3-5 business days.. it took 9 days to get here. I activated the card & when I tried to use it, it was declined. After being on hold for far too long I was told that that was the wrong card & another would have to be sent to me.
I'm now 2months late on my rent, about to be evicted, school is about to start & I haven't been able to buy any school supplies for my kids. My electricity is also about to be cut off, but NetSpend can't seem to unfreeze my acct. Just goes to show they don't really care about customer service. I know these cards are supposed to be convenient and hassle free but this experience just goes to prove that WHAT'S CONVENIENT ISN'T ALWAYS WHAT'S BEST. Will definitely be looking into what legal action I can take.

Netspend's a good debit card. I get my money a few days earlier. I mention it all the time to people. They won't charge you if you go to their ATM, but they will charge you if you go to any other ATM which I understand. The problem I have with Netspend right now, and I'm not sure I'm gonna keep it, is that every time I make a purchase, they charge me $1.50. They're charging me to use their card. I can revert this back to a bank account, get a credit card and never have to pay a fee at all. I've also had to change this card a number of times because of fraudulent activities on this card. There was a $175 charge but Netspend investigated and put it back on my card. But I don't know how these transactions occur. Nobody has this card but me.

Netspend has been pretty good to me on everything. I saved a lot on them catching people that took something off my card and don't let them get it. If they don't think something is right, they don't let it go through and I thank them for that. I have been with them so long I know what they are capable of and what they will do and I appreciate it.

I've been fine with them. I get my direct deposit and they let me know every time the card gets used which is really helpful. It helps me stay on track with the amount in there. Every once in a while, I go to a reload location off of Greenwood and SPID and the rep there has been awesome. She called customer service for me and helped me with anything I was confused about. She really took her time to help me out.

Dear Sir. I have been in contact with this company about my refund. I been with Netspend for over 10 years. So one day they decided to close my account after my pay check was deposit. I been trying to get someone to refund me. I have been getting the run around. Every day I call and get a different answer. No one can tell me when and where my check is. It's been almost a month and I still have not received my refund.

I've had NetSpend for a couple years now, there is great customer service here and not once had too many issues with the prepaid service. I've had checks cashed in a fast timely manner, made transfers to different account quick and easy and overall been highly satisfied with the service. Thank you and please continue the great job!

WARNING TO EMPLOYERS: Do not allow your employees to use NetSpend. We made an error in an employee account number in a Direct Deposit. When we tried to get the money back, the automated system said the account was closed. NetSpend kept our money and will not refund it to us. It's impossible to get through to a live person who can help. I sent letters and emails and they don't respond.
That does not sound right. In the event of a name/account number mismatch, the deposit will be rejected. If there is a question about a deposit, our cardholder can reach out to us at social@netspend.com.

The reps were fully aware of what's going on with Netspend. They know how to direct me to the right places. I'm able to go online and look at my transactions. And inside the app, it has a tracker of my spending habits. I have the Anytime Alert. It lets me overdraft with a small fee. It's decent. And the All-Access lets withdraw up to $100, if need be. Also, the card has fraud protection. They would ask me If I made that transaction. I have to give them the date, and the amount of the money that was taken off. It would take no more than a week for them to fully do their investigation. They get back to me. They send an email. They send alerts. If after they do the investigation they find out it was not me, they would reimburse my money. I referred a couple of friends and family to Netspend. It's a good card. They are better than a bank account. Because you would be able to access your money at any given time. You could order online. You could withdraw money at any bank. They have 24-hour access customer service.

Netspend is a great company to use. They have great customer service. I don't have to worry about my card being messed up if anything is taken out of my account, and I can always count on them. I have been getting my checks two days early. I like the service.

I have had a wonderful experience with NetSpend. When I signed up, it was simple. I answered the questions and told them what I wanted. They sent a card. I got it activated, and everything went fine from there. Sometimes I deposit on my card. Not very often, but I use it occasionally. I like that feature. I just hate the $4 fee.

The reason I love this company so much is that are there when you need them, whether it's a mistake on a purchases, for when paying a bill, you get instant notifications straight to your phone, so you will always know what you spend+ how much you have left, also if anyone tried to use your card you will be notified immediately.

So far very happy with my Netspend card and how to deposit and to use my card. I have been using now as my main account for the past year or so. The app itself is easy to use and a lot of information as compared to other banks' apps. I have not any issues with purchases and if anything needs adjusted it does it without me having to check on it for me.

NetSpend is a very good card to use for online purchases. Especially if you want to keep your bank card off the black web. I have had a Netspend card off and on for about 10 years. Never had any problems with fraudulent bills online. I like Netspend for that.. Get you one and see if you don't agree.

I have filed a dispute on 6 fraudulent activities on my account for a total of $1,591.00, it has been 8 days and have heard nothing. This has made me late on several bills including vehicle payment and mortgage. The amount taken was all I had in checking and savings. So no I am not happy with Netspend at this time.

Look I'm just really pleased with the options NetSpend has given me to keep my banking needs easy and secure. I get email and text prompts which allow my transactions to be approved by me before they are declined. Visa NetSpend lets me reload my card and keep my primary Bank Card safe... Thanks!! The personal experience on the 4th of July 2023 was very cordial. The agent recognized that my first email needed to be resubmitted with the current, correct numerical address. It was timely and without mistakes. I am a fairly new customer to this banking experience and would recommend these services to a friend.
