My card was hacked a year ago during a breach with Home Depot. NetSpend notified me and sent me a new card and my old card was supposed to be cancelled. I noticed on two different occasions that the card was still active so I called customer service and attempted to speak to the customer service. I say attempt because the only English they seem to speak is what is written on their script. Well here we are a year later and the card that was supposedly cancelled get used in Brazil about 7 times within 15 min and took $700 dollars. I immediately called when I got the text alerts and told them not to approve the transactions which were still pending.
Again the lack of understanding English was a huge barrier and three different customer service reps told me different things. I finally got someone from corporate to call me back three days later and she stated since this was clearly their fault my money would be credited by the end of business. Here we are three days later, I am unable to talk to the corporate office, my money is no longer pending but paid to the company in Brazil, and now they are telling me it can take up to 60 days to see my money.
This is outrageous. Never have I had such difficulty when a company clearly dropped the ball. Now my mortgage is going to be late and I have no idea when I will see my money. They refuse to allow me to speak to an American. I will be contacting an attorney tomorrow to see what my legal rights are. Total I have spent over 5 hours on the phone and all I get is some foreigner reading off a script. This card will be cancelled as soon as and if I ever get my funds back. They have lost a loyal customer.

I haven't been very happy with Netspend. It was supposed to come quickly than everything else and I didn't even receive the first one that they sent. I called back and it took another two to three weeks to get my other one. I pulled all the money off and cut up the card when I got it. Reading about what other people have said, a lot of them are complaining about it and said that every time they make a purchase, there's some ridiculous charge which wasn't something I was interested in. But on the other hand, their customer service team have all been somewhat helpful and I haven't had any complaints about anybody else.

I was on my normal PayPal account and saw a link for Netspend. At the time I had to have something to direct deposit to and I didn’t have a bank account and because it was free I tried it and I liked it a lot. The details of my transactions were well-detailed. You can tell what card made the transaction. Sometimes it tells you where or gives you a specific number so if there’s something that comes up that you’re not sure of, it’s easier to figure out where that charge came from.
Using it to pay my bills and buy stuff online has been really convenient for me and for the most part, like if you need a replacement card, customer service is okay. However I have noticed that if you’re disputing a transaction, they kinda get snippy.

My paycheck is deposited every pay cycle on time like clockwork but for some reason it wasn't this time. I can't seem to go through to customer service and it is very upsetting because I really need my money for bills and groceries. There has to be a better system put in place so that customers can call 24/7 when problems occur. I have been very pleased up until now. I am keeping the rating at four but if I can't get satisfaction soon it will drop.

Don't waste time with this card to many fees. They even charge you for buying out the store. And they have poor customer service. They don't speak English that well. This is a piece of ** for a card. Green Dot is a better card.

What's awesome about NetSpend is that (1) every time I spent money, I get a text from them. It tells me what my balance is. (2) It has a feature that prevents me from getting NSF fees attached to my account by not letting me spend money I ain't got (e.g. I got $7 in the account and I need to buy something for $10 I’m not going to be allowed to buy that). (3) To reload money in my account, I can go to one of their reload locations nearby or I can reload with Western Union although it costs a little bit more. (4) NetSpend offers customized cards where you can pretty much do your own graphic on it. I purchased one of those and that definitely caught some attention.
I’ve been a NetSpend customer since 2008 and in those seven years, I've had only one unpleasant experience and it was so minor that it wasn't anything that I would remember and cost them my business so I have been pretty happy with it. In fact I'd like to be able to refer NetSpend services to others. I just don’t know if the mechanism exists. I’m not really looking for any reward but I’m that impressed with the service and possibilities I’m going to have to talk to somebody at NetSpend about the possibility of it.

A friend of mine told me about NetSpend and I've been able to manage my finances since using the card. It's easy, efficient, doesn't cost much and I can go to any ATM. In addition, I use it to pay bills and make purchases online too.

The reps don't speak English that well. They don't complete disputes in a timely manner and they do issue the overdraft credit once dispute settled. Always have to call back even though a callback was requested. Very poor customer service.

I had disputes that I filed because of unauthorized usage and charges on my card and a few days after I placed the disputes they "closed" my account. I was only informed of the blocking of the card which would have been fine and I would have been okay, because they said I would be able to get a new one. They then go to inform me even though I was in the process of disputes that I have no access to my past transaction history or any account access due to them closing my account. So no problem - at first it was understood that it was the specific type of card I had. Now after I loaded a new card they tell me it's NetSpend that pretty much Blacklisted me from using any of their prepaid products. This is beyond ridiculous because I can't get through to them to speak with them about this issue. And then my money gets locked up not once but twice because of the lack of information they provide about what is going on.

I had a situation where they froze my card and a lot of my bills got cut out because they said they thought something's going on. Then I told them the transactions weren't my transactions and it took them about a week-and-a-half to get my money back. By the time I had a lot of cancellations going on. They have poor customer service. They can't understand what you're saying and their attitude is kind of firm when you ask to speak to somebody in charge.

I have had my card almost a year. Today I went out of town and tried to use my card to get gas to get home. It was declined at the register and the ATM. Because I didn't have cash I had to beg someone to help me get home to Virginia. After getting home I called NetSpend and they told me the card was cancelled for suspicious activity. I told them they could have called me to verify it was me. Then they said that they could not reactivate the card. They had to send me another card and it would take two days. Needless to say I don't want anything to do with NetSpend because they almost had me and my kids stranded in Pennsylvania.

I have been able to manage my finances better since switching to NetSpend. I've never been able to use the cashback from purchases because the stores that they chose to get cashback from aren't mostly that I use, I wish there was a bigger option there. Some interactions with the customer service were very good. Other times, I'm just very disgusted and disappointed because they tell me what they think I want to hear to get me off the phone. Then I'd have to call back later and someone else tells me something completely different. I'm dissatisfied.

I am so disappointed in this company. I called to dispute a transaction on my card and was told I gotta call back in 3-5 days because the transaction was pending for me to have to wait another 45 days for the dispute to be resolved. I asked for a supervisor. I held forever and was transferred directly back into the same automated system. My dispute is still not complete.

I've had my NetSpend card for 2 years and was never charged a fee when I used the card, but this past month of June I was charged each time I made a purchase and swiped my card. Contacted customer service numerous times to be told sorry. Asked for an explanation and it was because one deposit was under $50. That's not good customer service!!! Spoke to a supervisor and they only say sorry. What about your plans? Where's my refund? 2 years and you can't explain anything as to why all of a sudden I get charged! You tell me it's due to a small deposit for using your service!!!

I learned about NetSpend through a friend. It allows direct pay on my paycheck and pay bills offline. The transactions I make comes directly straight to my email. There was a time that someone got my card number and paid a bill off my card. NetSpend refunded my money because it wasn't me. I would recommend them to my friends.

I received an e-mail survey yesterday from NetSpend asking for my experience using their card. I have never requested a card, never received one, and have recently moved. I had never heard of NetSpend until I received the e-mail. I e-mailed the company to ask if the email was legitimate, what address they sent the supposed card to, and how they are able to create a card in my name without my authorization. I received a response stating that a "partner" had felt that I would "benefit" from the card and because of security reasons, cannot tell me where the card was sent. I was instructed to call the toll free number which I did from out of country. I am trying to get through to someone to find out what needs to be done to make sure that the card is not used and whatever associated account is deleted and do not appreciate having to go through this hassle during an international move and trying to rectify this from abroad.
I sent a follow up e-mail asking for the name of the company that shared my information with NetSpend so I could let them know how that decision negatively affected me and was not appreciated. I read online that other people have received unrequested cards from NetSpend. I don't understand how it is a good business practice (and feel that it should not be allowed), both security-wise and customer service-wise, to send cards to people who never requested them and have absolutely no interest in having one. I also do not think it is right to place the burden of ensuring that unrequested cards are dealt with safely on the consumer. I am still trying to resolve this situation and hope that NetSpend will consider ceasing the practice of sending cards to people who did not request them.

I've been using NetSpend for five years. And I really have enjoyed their service. I use NetSpend as my only debit/credit card. It has been a godsend in that respect because I can use it as a credit card and order things online. And the check center that represents them where I have my account is very customer service oriented and I really like them. The other thing is if I ever am short, they have a payday loan and because I have an automatic deposit, I'm able to get a cash advance if I need it.
Everything's been great and then as of a week ago, I started this nightmare because I was renewing my subscription to Norton security on my computer and my social security check came in a couple of days later then it said it normally would. So my Norton Security did not automatically renew on the day that it was supposed to. So I had to go in and start. Norton sent me an email. I went in and tried to update my profile and the subscription of my security on my computer. I went online to find a customer service number for Norton because I was at that point I had spent about 30 or 40 minutes trying to do it myself.
What I did is when I went online to offer the number of IT technology Norton security phone numbers, I picked out unknowingly a technician who was representing himself as a Norton technician and he wasn't. So I got this guy into my computer and he put all this crap in my computer, ripped me off money-wise, he knew my everything. And what was really weird was that it didn't feel right. I wasn't thinking clearly. I just wanted it done.
He was on my computer for a while. He said, "I have to reinstall the updated version. I need access to your computer." So everything seemed normal. So that night I changed my password on my computer. He had left something on my desktop. I put that in the trash bin. And also at that same exact day - And then he sent me an email saying "did you authorize this $89.99, call it $90 for your Norton security renewal?" And I had to write back to him, "okay it was my email" which again should've been weird but coincidentally the Norton renewal subscription automatically went through that same day that this guy did the service.
So 2 days later, I checked my NetSpend account because that's where all my money is. I saw an extra charge from this guy who was also billing me. He called himself IT Technology. So this did turn into a NetSpend incident because now I'm coming to the part where I was not happy with NetSpend's service because first of all when I called NetSpend, I told tehir rep what happened and I said, "You need to remove this because this guy went into my computer and ripped me off and I'm disputing this. This is not an authorized fee."
So the representative from NetSpend agreed with me. He withdrew and declined the $90. And I saw that was okay. So two days ago, I go back into my account and I see that his $90 was in fact acknowledged and paid to him. So when I called NetSpend, they let me know that this representative - they apologized and said, "I'm sorry this representative was not telling you the correct information. And if you want to get your $90 back, now you have to go into this dispute mode" which they sent me the directions for that. Well, that's what bothered me is because 3 days after that, they pushed through this $90 for this guy after I blocked the card. And I would have followed through and done something different if I could have. But it's just been like a week of hell. So normally experience is 90% satisfied with NetSpend all the time. Overall I definitely recommend them and I have and I still would.

NetSpend stopped me from using a gift card that I received from a friend and then a few months later the balance was zero. Their customer service tried to solve it by explaining that I just have to lose the money. Requested a supervisor and put on hold for ridiculous amount of time and never came back to talk to me. I called again and same situation. I was for an hour over the phone with customer service and only a few minutes were of useless help and the rest of useless waiting. VERY DISAPPOINTED. Would never recommend this company to anyone. NetSpend stole all the money from my gift card that was blocked for use and then start to charge me monthly for not using it.
And on top of everything, it was a nightmare to previously activate the card. Went online before to solve this situation with no results because their website is useless and will block you for sign in after a couple of uses. This company has a very sweet business set up for scamming people on gift cards. Too bad NetSpend, you didn't refund a small amount of money you stole, and because of that, you gained someone that will talk bad of your business forever. Scammers!!! Never buy a visa gift card from them! You or the person receiving the gift card will deeply regret it.

I've got more control over my money and I can send money where I want with the NetSpend card. I really like that I can send money from one account to another. Because I have some bills that wouldn't take a Visa card, when I get money and I have to pay a bill, I just flip some money over to the Mastercard to pay it and it's done. Excellent.

Ever since I used my NetSpend card, I noticed I don't spend as much. I can keep an eye on my finances and if somebody tries to take something out, I just call quickly and no problems. I've had two issues so far but they were taken care of quickly and Netspend's team were always friendly.

With the help of NetSpend, I've been able to manage my finances real good. They give me a $10 extra boost if I need it and that helped me a whole lot. It is very convenient because I am disabled, and not able to get out and go to places to pay my bills. So, my check automatically goes to the card, and I use it to pay my bills, as well as my rent. NetSpend is very, very awesome!

My aunt opened the account and my uncle also had a NetSpend card in his name. When my aunt died suddenly in March, the account was closed with no notice to my elderly uncle who is undergoing treatment for colon cancer. ALL of the funds in it are my uncle's SS retirement direct deposit. I have called this company a dozen times, get put on hold, disconnected, total BS run-around. They are THIEVES.

I've been with NetSpend for a few years now and my husband has it too. I use my card to pay bills or make online purchases. I have also tried the reload locations and the process was pretty easy. I also like the early pay for one. There's been a couple of times that I contacted NetSpend because people have gotten my information and took money off of my card. So, I had requested for a different card and they were able to help me with that. The only problem I have with NetSpend is the ATM fees to get any money out at Wal-Mart. Other than that, I have not ever had a problem with them so I recommend them to everybody.

My experience with NetSpend has been good and I don't have a problem with them. I've had them for a long time. If I go to a check cash in place and I need to make a withdraw on the card, it will call us but I do it at the grocery store.

Did not receive my last paycheck for at least a month. I called my card and my balance was 3.48 so my transition said someone took 300.24 dollars off my card last month which would have been June. I did not receive my last paycheck or someone stole my card and that someone was NOT ME. So I hope you can get to the bottom of it. Thanks.

With NetSpend, I get instant alerts whenever there's a deposit or whenever the card is used so I find that very helpful. Their customer service reps have always been friendly and helpful though I rarely have to call because I don't really have any problem with using the card.

I ordered something online and tried to cancel. I wasn't able to get it really cancelled and NetSpend helped me by stopping my card and sending me a new one. I really appreciate them doing that for me. I also use NetSpend in paying my cable and car insurance bills.

About six years ago, I was looking for different options other than a regular bank account to get away from a lot of things that are associated with not having to be like you're just another number (which is typical with the regular banking stuff). NetSpend was offered up to me. Basically, it's easier to stay on track financially because what you have is what you spend. It's not like you're going above and over that and really getting deeper into debt with the account. You don't incur your standard bank fees by utilizing the card. I use the card to pay bills and make online purchases all the time. And because I have direct deposit, I don't really have to reload anywhere. Basically I carry out some of the transactions through the ACE Cash Express that I did get the card through. Other than that, I go online and look at the account and my transactions and that how I pretty much handle my account. I give NetSpend a resounding five-star recommendation!

So far so good. I really appreciate the credit lube. It comes in handy. The only problem I have is the deposit doesn't come as soon as the RUSH card and both of you guys utilize MetaBank.

I've had a NetSpend card for a few months. Every month I receive international direct deposits from Amazon. It's AMAZON, a well-known company. With the exception of a couple of months when I thought everything was straightened out, I have had my account blocked each time a new deposit came in. If you don't call Western Union within a certain amount of time, I'm assuming those deposits get returned back to the payer. While I understand that there may be issues with international deposits, what I don't understand is why EVERY SINGLE TIME a new one comes in, the account gets blocked. This means that I have zero access to MY money in the account until I go through the b.s. of calling and speaking with someone yet again.
I pay one bill from this account each month and it is taken out automatically. How embarrassing would it be if my car insurance company was unable to access the payment because my account was blocked? I just got off the phone for the 3rd time in under 24 hours in regards to this issue -- meaning that it's been blocked 3 times in 24 hours. When all my deposits eventually make their way into my account and that one bill is automatically taken out, I will be removing whatever funds are in the account and closing it. It's not worth the headache each month. When you think international payments the first thing you think is Western Union. That's the only reason I chose a NetSpend card. While I'll never get rich from the amounts I make each month, I should still be able to access it without a problem. There are so many other prepaid options out there. Don't waste your time on this one.

I heard about NetSpend from my daughter. I like it because it allows my money to post earlier and quicker than others. There's no waiting period for it. I also do the direct deposit as well as pay online, which they have an overdraft protection. It's excellent, but my daughter hasn't got credit yet for the refer-a-friend.

I got the NetSpend card, registered the card. Waited for the card for some time. Called back, your representative said don't understand why I didn't get my card. Will send another one. To date I have not received the card and I sent my request to social security for direct deposit. Now what? I don't know where I will be getting my money.

I used Netspend because when I finished my taxes online it said this would be the fastest and easiest way to get my tax refund. Let me tell you this, Netspend has been the biggest pain ever! I am seriously annoyed with how horrible this Netspend program is. They keep sending me emails saying I need to sign up for my Netspend account to get my money but I NEVER received a card in the mail. How am I supposed to sign up then? I assume I'm supposed to get a Netspend card in the mail for sign-up (not positive as Netspend is awful with communication) because whenever I use my debit card or email it says they are invalid.
I called customer service (which COSTS 50 cents by the way!) and it took forever to call a real person because the computer voice kept saying my social security number is invalid and hung up on me. Then I finally got a number that said press 2 for a real person and I sat waiting for 5 min. Realized this is not worth 50 cents and hung up. Who knows, maybe I was charged 50 cents anyway just for the phone ringing. I wouldn't know because there is NO way for me to log-in.
I just re-emailed netspend again asking them what is going on. Hopefully I get a reply... unlike the last time when I emailed them months ago. DO NOT USE NETSPEND. It is a horrible website that charges for the stupidest reasons. I never received any info (of any kind) in the mail. I can't get a hold of any version of customer service. I want my tax refund already! I feel like Netspend is some sort of scam artist. Netspend SUCKS! I HIGHLY recommend to STAY AWAY.

Oh what a horrible experience I had. I purchased the card at Wal-Mart thinking I would activate it to make a purchase the same day since this item needed to be purchased that same day. I put $500 on this card, called to activate it and they told me I would have to wait 10 business days to make online purchases and over the phone purchases. I was so let down, because I got the card in order to make over the phone purchase and it needed to be done on that day. I then asked if I could return the card to Wal-Mart and get my money back, but she said that I had to fill out a form and fax it back to them and it would take 4 days to get my money back. I live in Hawaii and work 2 jobs, I don't have a computer or a fax. It was such a let down. And customer service didn't try to work with me or help my situation. This company is a hassle to work with. It's worse than the bank. At least the bank doesn't barge you a dollar per transaction or $2 per withdrawal.

I was a manager at Liberty Tax and all of our tax preparers got NetSpend as part of their employment. I use direct deposit and I love the notifications when you get a deposit or a withdrawal. I like that I have that record. My interactions with the staff at NetSpend has always been very positive. They're very respectful. In two different occasions, I had to order cards because somebody stole it, no problem at all.

I can barely write this because I am crying and shaking. NetSpend boast about posting direct deposits immediately but as of yet I do not see my employer's deposit in my account and now I'm in danger of losing my home. I have children and we will have nowhere to go if I do not get access to my direct deposit, which should have posted yesterday.

I got into contact with NetSpend because of their two days earlier direct deposit. I do everything online so the card provides ease and enables me to pay things faster. I usually use their direct deposit option, but I sometimes use their reload locations, too. Recently, I had a dispute on a transaction wherein a gas station took $40 unauthorized off my card. I contacted NetSpend to dispute the charge and they handled the matter pretty quickly. It actually took 10 business days, but they were communicating along the way as far as what was going on, so I wasn't left in the dark.

I tried out NetSpend and it's easy to use plus my money comes two days early. Once cashed, my checks goes to my NetSpend card via direct deposit. I use it to pay bills and purchase online and find it convenient. One time, I was having a problem with my card and one of their representatives (very courteous and knowledgeable) helped me out.

My husband and I have had a NetSpend account for over three-years. It was the best decision we ever made. The online website keeps track of all our expenses, automatic deposits and withdrawals. Best of all there are no more bounced check fees. If you try to use the NetSpend card when there is no money in your account it won't go through. No more nightmare scenarios where one bounced check leads to five that can cost up to $1,600.
The NetSpend card is accurate. In the past we discovered that banks were oftentimes wrong. Gone are the frustrations of dealing with inaccurate banks who think they are doing you a favor. For instance whenever I call NetSpend customer service, they are polite and treat me with the utmost courtesy making me feel important. Gone are the bank tellers who didn't have consistent rules. I remember asking one bank teller a question and then asking another one and getting two different answers all the time.
Also, getting our monthly payroll deposits two and sometimes five days early has worked to our advantage many times. We are extremely grateful for this. We will always use NetSpend because we have peace of mind. I often refer family and friends to NetSpend because I know it is the best financial service in the U.S. despite greedy banks using politics to get rid of them. I first heard of the NetSpend from my Social Security. However I haven't used it in quite some time although it was great. It didn't correct me from anything that I normally would do. But it was harder to automate it and get a hold of somebody and then try to transfer my direct deposit over to another card-- that was the only hassle I have.

NetSpend is a bank that issues debit cards to consumers who want to avoid overdraft fees. One of the reasons I stayed with NetSpend (4 years) is I receive my payroll check 2 days before the rest of the staff. This allows me to catch up on bill payments way before the weekend.

I am pretty happy with the convenience that my Netspend prepaid M/C has provide me and my family primarily because of my profession and being away from home so much. With my growing and adult children being scattered across the country, either in college or trying to map out a productive life for themselves and their families, there have been times that money was needed in a hurry. I have two accounts because there is a limit to the number of cards allocated to an open account. With this in mind, each person I have given the card to, knows that they can use it at any ATM that accepts the NetSpend logos.
Many of their commercial utility and other vendors (that accept debit/credit cards) gladly process payment using the card. There are many places all across the country that load these cards and the fee charged is phenomenally lower than other types of money transfer companies and it carries with it a lot more convenience; such as when it's Loaded, the money is available to them in only a few minutes. It comes with loading/spending alerts (I get them too! So I know they got their money and where they spent it.) Both myself and my family are grateful for the quickness and convenience and versatility this M/C provides us. I highly recommend it to everyone.
My main account, has direct deposit. With direct deposit, I have received my paycheck up to two days early! When they see the transfer, you get access to it that same day. Parents who have children away from home that they occasionally or even regularly help financially, this card helps you to not only help in a hurry, but also can help you advise those children with their spending habits.

I was tired of my bank so I decided to get in touch with NetSpend. One thing that I like about them, which is also the reason why I went with them, is that the bank wants me to have a certain amount of money in there before they start charging me. But because I don't have that amount of money in there, it does not do that. They also have the four days that I get my money before the first of the month when I usually get it.

Let me start off by saying that I was very skeptical at first to try another prepaid card after a bad experience with another, but I decided to give it a go. A co-worker told me about NetSpend and, ever since, I've used the card. I get funds earlier and my money back faster when I do returns. I love the low monthly fee of $5 for unlimited use. I also love how I get every text alert of what happens to my account. The additional services they offer are a great bonus. NetSpend also helped me resolve a fraud complaint. Even though the claim itself took awhile as they investigated, they still refunded the money right away. Thanks for being GREAT to me.

I have been a loyal NetSpend customer since 2009 aside from a bad experience a couple of years ago when they mailed my new card to replace expiring card to the wrong address and I wound up with an expired card and no way to access my money and they REFUSED to assume responsibility for the error and they REFUSED to overnight the card to me. Luckily I was able to just withdraw all my $$ and I got the new card before my next paycheck was direct deposited. But still the Customer Service on this incident was horrible. What's my big gripe with NetSpend is they will never accept responsibility for their mistakes. But other than that I've been generally happy with my account...UNTIL THIS WEEK.
But to make sure I went to an ATM in the airport and was able to withdraw a small amount of cash. I went on about my business thinking everything was OK.
Fast-forward to me arriving to my destination in the city via car service and attempting to pay my fare and my card is declined again. I didn't have enough money on my other cards to cover the fare b/c the bulk of my $$ was in my NetSpend account. I spent an hour sitting in this car haggling over a 67 dollar fare including calling NetSpend and them telling me the block would be removed from my card in an hour. The driver finally agreed to take the 40 cash I had and go on his way. I was extremely upset and that is not how I wanted to begin my vacation. I got a text message from NetSpend that the block had been lifted so again I thought all was well. Fast-forward to dinner that night when I attempted to pay for my dinner in a restaurant...CARD DECLINED AGAIN!!!
Again I went to 2 different atms and attempted to withdraw some cash but it was DECLINED DECLINED DECLINED!!! Thank goodness my roommate was willing and able to cover me and front me a little bit of $$. I had other options but some people don't. This could RUIN SOMEONE'S VACATION. So finally Friday afternoon I had a chance to get someone at NetSpend on the phone (after two previous attempts saw the person hang up on me). He explained to me the card was reported LOST OR STOLEN!? I'm the card owner and I did not report it lost or stolen. He kept referencing some "suspicious transactions". I told him over and over those were me in airports.
The guy REFUSED to admit they did anything wrong and told me there was nothing they could do to reinstate my card and they had to send me a new one. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. I was out of town with NO WAY TO ACCESS MY MONEY DUE TO THEIR STUPID MISTAKE. They are sending me a new card but that does not help the situation at all. I had to make a payment on my credit card that would post the next day to gain access to my money and borrow a bit more from my roommate. I am closing my NetSpend account over this incident and reporting them to the BBB.
NetSpend thinks they have the right to shut off someone's card without even notifying them. That is just wrong. Example: After NetSpend card declined for the drink in the airport I used my Capital One credit card to pay for it. Shortly afterwards I received a text message from Capital One asking me to confirm that it was me. This is all NetSpend had to do and they have SMS capabilities but for some reason wanted to turn off my card instead. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. DON'T EVER USE NETSPEND WHEN YOU GO ON VACATION. PUT YOUR MONEY ON A DIFFERENT CARD. GOODBYE NETSPEND.

I had a NetSpend card for about a year and a half. I didn't like the fee structure, simply because it's taking advantage of people who generally have a lower income. The fees are higher than regular bank account maintenance fees and since the consumers pose no risk to NetSpend, the fees are beyond reasonable. My larger complaint came when NetSpend enacted some changes, but didn't cover their own end. They instituted a "SAFE" program, wherein the client buys the Reloadit card as per usual. But then has to set up a safe to get the funds onto the card.
You fill out an online form and are instructed that you will receive a confirmation email and that once received, you can load the funds you've already paid for onto the card - but no confirmation comes - EVER, and you have no choice but to phone (since no online support is offered). The CSRs don't speak very good English and in the six or seven calls I made and email letters of complaint, there never was a remedy period. I finally mislaid the tiny receipt given to me at Safeway and just gave up. I cancelled the card. I would like to suggest they donate all the excess funds they've received in this manner to a charity that benefits the working poor. I would also like to suggest people get a Contour card from US Bank; a much more ethical, affordable and safe option.

Let me start off by saying that I was very skeptical at first to try another prepaid card after a bad experience with another, but I decided to give it a go. I love the low monthly fee of $5 for unlimited use. I also love how I get every text alert of what happens to my account. The additional services they offer are a great bonus. NetSpend also helped me resolve a fraud complaint. Even though the claim itself took awhile as they investigated, they still refunded the money right away. Thanks for being GREAT to me.

I have been a loyal NetSpend account holder for multiple years. Yesterday, 6/16/2015 I noticed I could not log on to my account. I tried changing my password. It said my information was wrong. Weird... so I sent an email to customer service, asking them WHAT was going on. I get off work, head to gas station, and my CARD had been cancelled. Awesome. Way to embarrass me in front of everyone. ANYWAYS, I call and of course get a foreigner who speaks poor English. He informs me that Risk Management team has decided to close my account without warning. I ask "Why?" He is unable to give me any answers. Could be suspicious activity, buying from certain merchants, using it for business purposes (I found this out from my own research).
Long story short, I am told it will take 20 BUSINESS days before they cut a check. This is unacceptable. Luckily, I am in a position where I keep money other places. HOWEVER, Netspend is presented as solution for all day, every day banking. If someone had just received a pay check, and they cancel the account - guess what? 20 business days is a WHOLE MONTH. No matter how you look at it, RENT and other BILLS are due within a 20 BUSINESS day time frame. You could end up homeless, without heat, or water.
This company has no regard for the well-being of their customers. Had they talked to me about whatever issues they may have, I would understand. Cancelling and holding my money for an ENTIRE month is unacceptable. I will make sure everyone knows what a poorly managed company this is. I will be MORE than happy to change my review if someone (who speaks English) reaches out to me and helps me clear this matter rather sooner than later.

The card works for an emergency but what they fail to tell you is you cannot transfer money without a 4.95 fee. They charge 3.95 to add money to the card and then the 4.95 to transfer the money to another card holder. They say you can do it free on line, but that is only if you have a real card they will send you with your name on it. They fail to explain that when you pay another 3.95 for the card, so do the addition 3.95 + 4.95 equals 8.90 to transfer the money. Then they charge $1.00 to $2.50 every time you use the card. This is all fine as long as you're educated, but when they sell you the card they fool you into thinking it's all free after you pay the 3.95 for the card.

I love and trust Netspend! I have been with them for over 2 years. I enjoy receiving my direct deposit two days early. Like clock work my deposit is credited! Had to dispute a transaction once and they quickly resolved my issue! If you overdraw your acct, they charge $15... way better than any walk in bank! Now you can even set up auto payments as well! On occasions I may need to withdraw a large amount of money... I just do a cash advance at a walk in bank for no fee! Netspend has been good to me!

I started using NetSpend because my bank at that time was charging 12.00 for the acct and 2.00 for transaction. With NetSpend was a lot cheaper the service is excellent and the acceptance is non-problematic. I highly recommend this card to anyone.

I've been using it since 2005. I like the direct deposit and the overdraft protection came in handy a few times whenever I didn't have my checks direct deposited. I don't like to carry cash and prefer my NetSpend card since when someone steals your cash, there's nothing you can do about it. But when someone takes your credit card, I can alert NetSpend and put a stop on the card so no one can take my cash. I've recommended NetSpend to a lot of people and always tell them how good NetSpend is.

I heard about NetSpend online. I was doing some research and one of their ads popped up on it. I was a little reluctant to get the card at first because I'm so afraid of credit cards. But when I read about the way it works, it seemed they know well enough so I gave it a try and see what can a prepaid card do. I've been a NetSpend customer for years now and they've been great. I like it because of the deposit policies that they have, and I get charged one fee a month. It’s really convenient. I also like the overdraft protection as well, which I try not to lean on that as much. It’s great to know it’s there for emergencies.

I liked the way the Netspend website was and had heard good things about them so I chose them. I've had no problems with it at all. They have an overdraft limi where if you're a buck short on something, they'll put the payment through. I use the direct deposit and have never had any issues at all with the team. I've called them a few times to ask them questions and usually the questions were answered in a quick and professional manner.

NetSpend is convenient having a reloadable debit card while not having a banking account. She got her taxes put on the card. Since then, it was so easy for us to use it and now we share the account. At first, the card only had her name on it so when my paychecks were put on there, it locked up the account because it wasn't the right name from the check under the card. She had to call NetSpend and it was easy to get it fixed - adding my name on the account so I can have my own card.

My experience with NetSpend has been great. My mom was the one who enrolled me in the program. I like the savings feature and the fact that I can send family members money fast. Using NetSpend card to pay bills and make purchases is easy as well. I had to call them to move my money out of my savings account one time because I had used up all of my chances, and they did the process in a timely manner. I also had lost my card and they assisted me in blocking it and then sent me a new one. It is very convenient having one, and I recommend it.

I went through a workforce agency and got a job - that's how I learned about NetSpend and I started working with them. They're more convenient than other prepaid debit card provider. It wasn't a lot of hassle. Even when we started with them, we didn't have fees except ATM transaction fee. I get my money sooner with direct deposit and I benefit from the versatility of it. I've been able to use it out of the country as well. However the other day, I had to call them and wasn't very happy. There's always been a $10 buffer and the guy told me that it depends on what vendor it is whether you can use it or not (which was never the case and I didn't believe was true). He said that was the new policy and he wouldn't explain any of it.

I'm able to manage my finances a little bit more easier using NetSpend and I haven't had any problems with my money being deposited from my account. It comes a day early so I'm very satisfied. I just wish there were other familiar places or stores other than Wal-Mart that I can reload with no problems. There were several Wal-Marts that would not pre-load money onto this NetSpend card for whatever reason.

Since using my NetSpend card, life is simpler because I can see where my money is going and I always have access to my balance. Dividing spending percentages for household and other expenditures is easier, too. Since using the card, I don't need to have cash with me. I chose NetSpend as my prepaid debit card provider because it was convenient. The location here in Colorado made it easy for me to use it. Since using the card, I like how I get my checks and anytime alerts. I can keep track. The benefits of getting my paycheck a couple of days earlier gives me an advantage on certain bills.
I ended up with a transaction on my card last summer and could not figure it out so I called the team at NetSpend. They helped me figure it out and track it down. At that point they went on and cancelled the card, and that showed me this transactions have been taking place every four months and I had never paid any attention to it. That's when the NetSpend team told me about my anytime alert. I appreciate how they helped me with that. They cancelled the card, got me a new one, and I was able to transfer my money from that account to another account until my card came.
I recommend them all the time. I told my girl friend in Louisiana, "If you can find a NetSpend card, if they have them there, you need that." I love transferring money back and forth between me and my sisters and my friends to my husband. That makes it a whole lot easier. You're not spending money trying to wire-transfer. You go straight to your phone.

I don't like to keep cash that's why having the NetSpend card has been very convenient. I even get a text message every time a deposit is made, as well as when I withdraw money or have any transactions. It helps me keep track of where the money is being spent. And it's a Visa card and it's accepted everywhere so I can use it anywhere. So I would recommend it to family members or friends.

I have dealt with ** in the corporate office quite a few times regarding issues regarding my account with the NetSpend account I have had there almost 14 years, close to them opening, that is how long I've been doing business with NetSpend Bank and in the past approximately 1 and years have had some problems with customer service and finally contacted corporate and reached **. I want to report my experience with her. It has been more than outstanding. She has gone up and above her ability to take the time to correct problems that have occurred at the customer service level.
I can't say enough about her efforts and just in every area to help and resolve any problems and has promptly resolved them. Her return calls have been immediate and again I could just go into every area in which she went up and above I feel her call of duty and in all areas of her customer service, I absolutely can't say enough about her. She is an outstanding asset to the company and if I have any problem all I need do is call her and if she can't get to the phone I KNOW beyond a shadow of a doubt. Using my NetSpend card I've been able to manage my finances a heck of a lot better. I don't have to carry cash, I can always use my card. I know exactly what I've got left in my account at all times, how much I spent, and where I made my purchase. I have paid bills with it and it's very convenient. It makes it a lot easier to make bill payments because it lets you know when the bill payment went through so therefore you know it's paid, instead of having to wait to find out. Usually on some accounts they don't tell you 'til the next day but with NetSpend it tells you automatically. I really like my Netspend card. Every single time I call, they've have always been very helpful, always eager to help me with anything I need.

I contacted Netspend on May 21 of 2015 about fraudulent charges not authorized by me (the account holder) on May 20 of 2015. I was told to file a dispute which I did within minutes of getting off the phone with an east Indian man by the name of **. I was told it would take 10 days to get a response for this dispute and also they MAY OR MAY NOT GRANT A PROVISIONAL CREDIT! It shouldn't be a question, I did not authorize one transaction in question!
I am very upset and in communicating with that dept. via email I am told that pretty much if the vendor can provide the paperwork back that netspend sends to them I've lost my case, that's very vague... What does that mean? The vendor does not know me, any thief can steal ALL your info. It's a known fact. So now I'm here waiting and emailing everyday, it's upsetting. I live paycheck to paycheck. I have had no money for groceries, but take your precious time, by all means netspend. I really hate that I signed up for your service. You suck!

I have three online stores. NetSpend is connected to my Paypal. If I don't have it in the Paypal, they get it from NetSpend or NetSpend has even got to the point now if I'm $3 to $5 overdrawn and I don't have it, they pay it and then I catch it up so I have no complaints. They have been great. Anything I've ever come up with, they pulled it right through that's why I have already recommended NetSpend to five people that I know.

I had my income tax return deposited into NetSpend. When I tried to make a purchase I was told that my NetSpend card was flagged as being lost or stolen. I called NetSpend and they said the card was good. I tried to make a purchase and was told again that my card was rejected. This has been going on for a week now. I cannot make any purchases even though NetSpend says the car is good. NetSpend takes no responsibility, and has done nothing to correct this problem. I have over $1,000 tied up in the NetSpend abyss, with no end in sight.

I prefer NetSpend over a bank account. I like it better since I can have better control of my money. I get my direct deposit on my check three days earlier. I'm supposed to get my social security the fourth Wednesday of the month but I get it the Friday before. I have not had any problem with it and it's been a great experience. I was with CNC Bank and they had messed up my money and my account - that's how I ended up with NetSpend. Since using NetSpend card, I sometimes give my money early and I can handle what I need to right then and there. With them, I get my money a little faster and I use the overdraft protection. That helps a lot for me to not spend over what I'm able to. It's also convenient because I have the app on my phone - I have it to where I get a text message every time I swipe my card or every time a transaction is made. I always get updated and I know at once what's going on with my money and where it is going.

I was looking for a prepaid card that I can get my paychecks direct deposited onto and I liked the features that NetSpend offered so I went with them. They send me daily notifications letting me know how much is there and that I can't overspend. Their staff are knowledgeable and when I have an issue, it's dealt with immediately. I like the fact that if I'm going to take something back to a store, and before I leave that store, the return gets handled and the amount is credited back to my card. I like the card that's why I referred a couple of friends and my family members there. I will keep recommending them.

I've had NetSpend for a few years now, primarily using it for direct deposit of my disability. The card is never turned away or rejected anywhere, and though I do have to pay a fee to use it at ATMs in my area, there are workarounds when I need cash (for example, Wal-Mart allows unlimited amounts to be added to transactions as cash back). The only negative is the difficulty of having funds added by another person on your behalf.

I have been a customer with Netspend since 2006 and have nothing but great things to say about this company. I have tried the other top five debit card companies and was never satisfied with any of them. First of all Netspend has the best security when it comes to account protection.... I get my pay as soon as my employer makes the deposit with no waiting. On one job I got paid two days before everybody else... The anytime alerts are also great.
They also have mastercard debit which is good because some companies don't take visa for bill payments so it's good to have both. Also if you want to buy something online but don't trust the seller with your card number Netspend has virtual cards that you can use... nobody has that feature. For fifteen years I have never had any problems. And last of all what other company will let you put a picture of your favorite pet or family member on your card. And that's for real. Thank you Netspend for making my life easy.

So was super excited and went to Western Union to make my first load on card so I could make an online purchase. Loaded a couple hundred. Hours later my card still says no money available. I have spoken with NetSpend and Western Union back and forth blaming each other for the problem, no help whatsoever. 8+ plus hours still and nothing. Beyond frustrated. Last call, was told they are have technical issues and no one knows when my money will load. No way of issuing a refund either. Sorry, not rich, would like my money. I will never reload money on this piece of crap card again. Once my money gets on my card, it will be depleted.

I was unhappy with the bank I was at so when my son told me about NetSpend, I've been with them ever since. They provide me with one statement that I can check and track online. I frequently use direct deposit and it's just an easy process. The card is convenient to use since I do a lot of paying bills online. The reps are always friendly and if they don't know, they ask somebody else and gets back to me on it. I love them.

You are losing a lot of potential long term, loyal customers by closing our accounts or constantly blocking our cards. Those of us using Netspend for the Freester.com (GLD MyScore) Cash For Surveys are legitimately using the service. Please take a look at the merchant we are conducting business with, verify that it is legit, and stop blocking and closing customers' accounts.

If anybody is thinking about getting this card, think twice. It's not worth it. Just because you get paid 3 days sooner than anybody else, it's still not worth it. I should have listened some of the people that warned me about this, friends and family members. But no, I had to be different -- I had to get my money 3 days sooner. No more. Bump this card and bump the people that made it.

I've had NetSpend for years already. I like that we're able to get our direct deposit earlier than pay days...That's a big plus and one of the main reasons why I use it. I wish there wasn't a limitation on how much you can get out, because I know there used to be not one. So that's a downside. But other than that, I have no complaints. I pay a monthly fee, but I don't get charged each time that I use the card. So I rarely carry cash. I utilize the direct deposit option more frequently. It's easy to set up and goes into effect right away. Sometimes the Netspend people really do what they're supposed to do. Other times, they weren't helpful and they told me they were going to do things and didn't do them, and that caused me to have to call back two or three times.

NetSpend is good, I've been able to manage my finances better with it. I use it for Social Security to fix the income or sometimes you're a little short, it doesn't add a little expense when little emergencies come up. I have direct deposit and setting it up was simple. Their team have been pretty helpful - I had some strange charges on my card one time and they changed the number and sent me a new card right away.

Every time I go to the store and purchase a reloadit pack to reload my NetSpend card, the delay to access my money is absurd. I log in to the reloadit website, register the newly purchased card (a few times I received a message about some system technical difficulties). The problem is after I register the pack to my account I immediately go to reload my card. Every time I am met with a message indicating that they are experiencing technical difficulties. Sometimes it takes hours in order to access my money. Why?! I am already getting ripped off by their $2 a transaction fee for debit usage.
They cannot fix this issue or do not want to. It's ridiculous. The money should be made available immediately. I finally tried a Green Dot Card, which, by the way does not charge per transaction (which should be looked into because at $2 per transaction using the card with a pin, is robbery). People who cannot get a bank account or chose to use the convenience of a prepaid debit card are truly getting taken advantage of. In time I hope the problem is rectified or the company itself brought to a halt. Its existence is of a scam of sorts in stealth. I'm pissed.

The card works well for what I needed it for. I feel safer using it on line. Sadly, this company like so many others has outsourced their customer service to the Philippines. I know they speak English (barely) but are unable to understand simple requests for information. The call center staff are so poorly trained, all they can do is look up your account. Even simple questions beyond your account balance take a painfully long time to answer. How about a US call center?!

I had my income tax put on the NetSpend card and I've been using it ever since. I made it to a direct deposit through my payroll and it's been great. I keep track with texting. It comes straight to me, so I know exactly what's in there and what's going on. It's pretty awesome. Now, I don't have to deal with banks. I utilize their direct deposit mainly. I've had call the team at NetSpend when I go out of town...That's the only thing. They do put a block on the card when you travel and try to get gas in the middle of the night. Otherwise, it's nice and quiet. I don't hear from anybody and there are no issues, so I don't have to deal with them. It's perfect.

My card was hacked 2 times, once last year and a few days ago. I find it kind of suspicious that this keep happening with this card and no one at netspend know how it happened. Someone took my money out of a atm without my card in another state Houston texas and last year it was Florida which seems to be the two states it happens at the most and Netspend is in Texas I believe. This company is terrible. I will never get a card with them again. It takes 7 to 10 days to get your money back like I have other money somewhere to pay my bills until then but I don’t. Please don't get this card because eventually yours will be hacked too. I guarantee it.

I've been a customer of NetSpend for over ten years and I have enjoyed the company. I like the features of the card, the ease of using it and the online feature except for the pay bill program, they changed it when they updated their software. There's no way that I can send ACH check to customers or the people that I owe. It's really changed and it's very difficult to do. I'm retired now so I'm in a community in central Wyoming that doesn't have banks that are really in tune with internet and inter-banking checking. So the fact that I have a NetSpend card is a great feature. I enjoy the alert features because I'm able to keep track of my balances and my deposits. Customer service, when I can get a hold of them, is good. But I sure wish that it wasn't outsourced overseas that it would remain inside of U.S. and employ our people here in the U.S., rather than outsourcing to the Philippines or Malaysia.

I was given a prepaid card from someone else for $250 from this company. A few months later when I tried to use it, Netspend said it was already expired. They never told the purchaser this would happen so quickly. Nor did it say that anywhere on the card or the package. They said they would issue me a check for $165, but the rest was gone for maintenance fees. (Surprise - we took your money!!!) I can't wait to see if the check even shows up. This company needs to refund me the difference since it was not clearly disclosed that there are hidden fees in a short period of time. The packaging on the card actually says "Clear, no hidden fees, no surprises." This is a lie.

I like it. It has the limit on what you could take from the ATM in case the kids get their hands on the card. They also have a overdraft protection. They give a little leeway with certain things, or people just trying to get back on their feet especially dealing with things you deal with in life. That’s what made me really take heed dealing with NetSpend after a family member told me everything about it. Because I can’t open a regular bank account.

I worked on a job and a lot of people were getting their money ahead of my money being deposited in my bank account so I decided to sign up with NetSpend. I have a Control card with NetSpend, so I just applied for it. I get my Social Security and pay bills quicker, and it's convenient to use in making online purchases. I don't have to carry cash since there are a lot of ATMs that are free. I also use the direct deposit option. I have a regular debit card with a bank, so I just take the money and throw it in NetSpend afterwards. That way I don't spend it too fast. I have recommended NetSpend to somebody the other day to get Social Security.

Back in 2003 I needed to purchase some plane tickets and I could not do that with cash. I needed a credit card and I didn't have one. So I went and got a NetSpend card. I've been one of their members now. I frequently use the direct deposit option. It's easy for people to do it. Now, unfortunately, I do have a lot of fraudulent issues. I've had to change cards quite often. But, other than that, it's been okay. I've recommended them all the time and I've recommended them to everyone of my kids.

It is beneficial to be able to transfer from PayPal accounts and I've also used it to pay bills and make online purchases - it is very convenient. Likewise, setting up direct deposit has also been very easy. I've called their customer service a couple of times, one was to dispute a charge and they were extremely helpful. They have been excellent, very low wait times if you have to call.

I was in a currency exchange cashing a check and I had too much cash. I decided to fill out a NetSpend application and get a card so I could put my money on it instead of carrying cash. I'm disabled so with NetSpend, I pay all my bills online with my card. There's also been a couple of times where there is unauthorized usage of my card and I get to follow the necessary steps - they put my money back immediately and did the investigation, and found everything was correct. They have a very good customer service - they are very polite, helpful, and they answered all my questions. Only comment is that I’m getting double-charged when I withdraw from ATMs.

I got NetSpend because I had to get a card for my Social Security. It’s a secure way instead of the checks. I don't have to worry about my personal information. It is also very convenient because I can use it anywhere. I can use it on the Internet or pay bills and stuff. I never had any complaints with NetSpend and I'm happy with it.

I have been a customer for forever… In fact I have had a few cards expire already. Anyways I use this for my PayPal account for my eBay business daily and have been for years. Today I get 5 text messages in a row -- EVERY CARD I EVER HAD (including ones that expired years ago) were "reported stolen and now blocked". I was furious seeing as though I did not report anything stolen.
When I called I got a woman who could hardly speak English not understand what I was even telling her. So I called back to get someone else - the next woman understood English and she eventually gave me to a manager. NO ONE had a reason -- AND THEN THEY HAD THE NERVE TO ASK ME TO PAY $10 TO OPEN A NEW ACCOUNT because I have been a "loyal customer for so long" - hahaha. At that point I told them they were insane to think I would pay for their mess up. How does every card # I ever had all become stolen at same time??? I also read online I'm not the only one whose account was closed like this. I need this card for work daily and they royally screwed my day up.

I live in NJ. On 03/26/15 someone in Florida stole my info and used my money from my direct deposit. I quickly was notified by text and cancelled the card. The next few days I disputed the claim. After waiting the 3 days it took for the fraud charges to finish pending, I faxed everything over and a few days later I was sent a letter saying that I won and was going to be credited back the money. This was when the battle started, I had to transfer the funds to a temp card that I had to buy from seven eleven. I spoke to a rep that googled my nearest ace location and the idiot gave me ace hardware store in Newark NJ (her dumb-** googled ace store in Newark NJ). Every rep placed me on hold for hours and I was even hung up on, the managers were no help as well. After hours of back and forth the last gentleman I spoke to (the morning after) was helpful and transfers my money immediately.
As far as the service it's horrible and I will NEVER use ace or NetSpend or whatever it's called ever again. I DON'T recommend this to friends or even my worst enemy. The lack of help and knowledge from these reps is mind boggling. They all need to go back to training. The service itself was helpful till I had to answer these stupid public info questions that made zero sense. The ** who used my money in Florida didn't have to verify identity like I did. No reps there has a brain -everyone places you on hold. This company needs to reevaluate their employees or these CEO's need to call to test their reps because then they would know what idiots they're paying as employees.

I used NetSpend because I thought it was safer than cash. I was wrong. I took my truck to a transmission shop and paid $1400.00 for a rebuilt transmission. I was given a 3-year unlimited mileage warranty. I paid for the repair on 10/29/2014. At the end of December 2014 the truck started acting up in EXACTLY the same way it did before the repair. I contacted the transmission shop and he said he would loan me a vehicle and repair mine. He told me he would call me the next day to set up the loaner. He never called me again. I tried calling several times, but it always rang 5 times then went to voicemail. I couldn't leave a voicemail because his mailbox was full. I finally took the truck to another transmission shop and they told me that I needed a new valve body (already replaced at first shop) and that my wiring was totally burned up (supposedly replaced wiring at first shop).
I called NetSpend to dispute the transaction on 3/26/2015. I talked to customer service and was told that even though the 120-day window had passed, they valued my business and would definitely take care of me because I tried to work with the merchant. I emailed in all the documents they asked for and was told the Dispute department would contact me in 10 business days with the result of their investigation. I didn't hear anything, so I called them back on 4/9/2015. I was told by customer service that the dispute department had DENIED MY CLAIM. I was angry and asked why I was not informed and why nobody called me to inform me. She couldn't answer that.
I asked for the phone number to the dispute department and was told she didn't have a phone number for them, they only communicate by email. She told me to write them another letter asking them to reopen my investigation. I did just that and included my phone number and told them to call me so I could plead my case. They never called and never contacted me with the results. I called them again on 4/23/2015 and was told it was DENIED AGAIN because it was over 120 days. Again I requested a call from the Dispute Department, still no call. Now I've paid twice to have the truck fixed. Other companies will still help you after the 120 days if you can give them a good reason, which I did. Now I've been screwed twice, once by the first transmission shop and once by NetSpend. As soon as I get my direct deposit switched, I will be closing this NetSpend account.

Using NetSpend has been great for me. I've been able to save more money and spend responsibly. It’s been very convenient and I don't have to carry cash with me. I can also pay my bills and make online purchases with it. I just had a problem with the ex-girlfriend trying to get into my account and I had to change password, but that’s no big deal.

I don't know what is going on, I tried to log in my account and it said to contact customer service so I did, and they said my account has been closed and I ask why. They said they don't know. Suspicious activities??? And won't say a reason. I didn't do anything wrong. Every time I call, they leave me on hold for 40 minutes at a time and never come back. I'm so pissed off because I was waiting my deposits today and they said they were going to return anything that gets sent to them. This is so messed up because I been a customer for years. The only thing I can think of is me overdrawing my account which doesn't make sense because I pay it back every time.
I'm so tired of places like this messing up things in my life. I have four kids and bills need to be paid. I'm beyond mad. I will never give them my business again and I will be closing out my mom and dad accounts after they get their direct deposit, and will be letting my Facebook friends know not to mess with this company. They always messing up and not replacing money they owe me and I'm not going to let this go - period. Beware. This company is only in it for the Money. They can care less about their customers. They never even sent me an email before doing this. Even cancelled my cards and the 1866 number act like robots.

Have been loyal NetSpend user for years. Card number was stolen and my entire account emptied in 3 minutes, over $900.00. They are uncaring, do not call you with updates, and have no idea when my money will be refunded. Meanwhile, I have nothing and rent is due in 5 days. The only thing they will tell me is that it can take up to 10 days to investigate. Most banks refund your money within 1-2 days of fraud, but NetSpend wants you to wait at least 10 days. This tells me that they file a claim with FDIC and will not give you your money until they get a response. Their customer service reps are rude, ignorant and cannot answer questions intelligently. Not sure where the call center is, but it's not in America. As soon as I get my money back I am closing my account and going back to Chase. They may not be the best bank, but they protect you against fraud. NetSpend does not.

I figured that NetSpend would be a nice card to have due to their direct deposit - I like that I can get my money two days earlier. I manage my finances better with Netspend since it shows all my transactions on their website and every time I use the card, it texts me with a detailed receipt. I've used Netspend in paying bills and online purchases and it is very convenient and makes it real easy. I use the direct deposit and reload. With the reload, I go into the store, tell how much I want to put on my card and less than ten seconds, the money's on my card. I've recommended NetSpend to my whole family.
