    I called to report an unauthorized charge on my card. The call center employee could not speak fluent English. After much trouble asking him not to mark my card as stolen that I just had a dispute and I needed access to my money as I only got paid bimonthly and it was almost TWO WEEKS until payday, and I ask for time to withdraw some cash. Two minutes after ending our call I received a text saying my card was reported stolen and cancelled. I called and spoke to a rep who said there was nothing I could do but wait until they mailed me a new card!!!

    The next day I called and asked to speak to a supervisor and was told no one was available. The rep and I discussed my options as I badly need access (AND STILL DO) to my money as I had bills to pay and a family to feed. My LATE FEES are due to this BS! I was told if I bought a new Netspend card that it would take up to four hours to remove the restrictions but then they could transfer MY MONEY to my new card. The NEXT day I was able to get a supervisor after being told I could not get my money transferred to the new card.

    After over an HOUR ON HOLD I got the supervisor and explained the situation. She said she would see what she could do and ask me to hold. I WAS ON HOLD ANOTHER HOUR! She then told me to try back in four 'Business' hours. When I called back my new card was NO LONGER ACTIVE!!! I am beyond angry and this can not be legal! They are holding my money and will not release it!!! I intend to sue and when this ** is straightened out, I will never use this company again!!! This is ludicrous!!!

    I needed a card for a direct deposit and I was referred to Netspend by a friend. The card helped me because I have that $10 overdraft program. It is strictly for bills and other basic necessities. I've called their customer service when I had an issue with the card and the reps are pretty good. I never had problems out of them.     I've had NetSpend for almost 20 years. I like that I can get my paycheck and my disability check on the 25th or the 2nd of every pay period every month. I use Netspend to pay bills, pay at gas stations and grocery stores. I like it that they allow us to go a little bit over the budget, but with the history and the direct deposits that we put into our accounts, they know they're going recoup those losses easily. I got half a couple of times that they were quick to recuperate my funds. They also always send the emails stating the dates to expect your next paycheck through direct deposit, through the military or your job, “This is the history and we expect this to post on this date.” I'd recommend NetSpend.

    This company is setting up accounts without consumers consent.I received an account already created and the associated credit card in the mail. It was extremely upsetting. The company has crossed the lines with marketing. To be put on the do not mail list you have to use the account number they provided to you. Any company doing this needs to reconsider their marketing technique. It has had a completely negative impact on their company.

    I would like to tell you that I have had nothing BUT good things to say about Netspend card! I saw the ad on TV and a customer came into store and used her Netspend card. Since I was considering getting one I asked her about her experience and was it worth it. When she told me yes I called and got one for me. I have never had a bad experience in using my card. My paycheck has always been loaded at least a day before checks were actually released. This last pay period I received my check two days in advance which really helped me out! Thank you Netspend!     In 2001, I didn't have the access to regular checking and I needed a card that I can have my Social Security check downloaded to. NetSpend was the only one available. It also has a savings site so, I'm able to save money and I'm buying myself a new truck. I use it exclusively for my VA retirement and my Social Security. Also, within 60 seconds, I know if I spent something. If my card gets stolen, I would have access that they will know right away.

    Since 2001, they've made a lot of improvements. But people with the older Androids will have a problem downloading the new app because it requires something better than Android 5.4. And so, they can't get in there and use NetSpend on their phones. There are a lot of older phones like a Sprint Galaxy 2 which is not supported and a Galaxy 3 cannot use it. It takes an update for Android itself to be able to use it. But I've presented them a nice letter and they sent a nice response too. The team at NetSpend are very knowledgeable and always to the point. I lost the card once and they replaced it within 10 days.

    I’m at the Facebook site and the people that have problems with NetSpend are the people who give out their information and get their stuff stolen. They give out their code number, they don't pay attention and nobody knows who they are. So, they had to verify themselves. Those are the things I see people doing wrong and they're blaming NetSpend. They complain that they don't get their check exactly three days early. They don't realize the government sends a check out, not NetSpend. NetSpend didn't keep their money, they won't release the money because they didn’t verify themselves.

    When I first started in 2001, they were only available at some check cashing places and you had to verify who you were right in the minute. And so, I had mine verified in person. It was seamless. I have an HSBC card which is also a NetSpend and I do the same thing with them. I had to verify who I was and my address. It's crazy stuff, but it works for me.

    I absolutely love my PayPal prepaid Netspend card. I have my social security deposited on it every month and have had the best experience of any prepaid card. I love getting paid early and love the 10 dollar cushion allowed. The fees are reasonable and it is accepted everywhere. When I needed a solution for withdrawing more than 320 to a time they came up with it so that I could save on fees. Better than any bank acct. Thanks Netspend.

    First of all, I am legally blind. And to have a card company that you trust the way I trust Netspend, especially not being able to see well, is paramount. My experience with NetSpend has been absolutely marvelous. However, I've had problems with my card because I had a thief living in my house and I had to shut it down and re-establish it. But I never had an issue with it since then. I got my card expeditiously and the Netspend team have been absolutely wonderful. I've always gotten my money back. I've had my Netspend card since 2008 and because of it, I don’t have to carry cash. It's absolutely one of the best decisions I've made, and I recommend it to everyone I know.

    I like that I can watch how I spend with Netspend. It sends a text to my phone so I know how much is in my account at any time. I also feel my information is secure with Netspend. Plus, it's like a regular debit card so it's easy to use to pay bills or make online payments. I also like the overdraft protection feature, which is a good idea. If I'm short on money, I can pull out my card. I usually use the direct deposit option more and I used to walk around with it and put in but I’ve stopped using it because they charge me a good little bit for depositing into my account. My aunt told me there wasn't a fee with Netspend, but there is and the fees are something I really don't like about it. I left the bank because they already try to charge fees for my own money. But I don't have any problems with using Netspend at all.

    The dispute process takes too long. In February 2017, I had my tax refund deposited on my Netspend card. I've decided to check my balance online because I didn't have mobile alerts. To find out... someone had been stealing money off my card! I was so angry because I only use my card for emergencies. So I filed an dispute for the stolen money and also filed a police report! And it has been 3 weeks! Which I was told it would be 10 days in which I would get my money refunded! Netspend should protect their loyal customers better.

    I like NetSpend. I've been with them for a lot of years now. I like not having to carry my cash around and that if I need to, I can get an overdraft. I also get my money earlier.     My son purchased the card at Wal-Mart on March 19, 2017. He paid the $25 in cash and received what he thought would be a PrePaid Visa Card to use on Amazon. Well, when the company asked for my SSN, I said No. I was told I would be issued a refund. Today is May 12, 2017 and no refund. Anyone who has ever tried to call them 1-866-387-7363, knows you rarely get a human and their phone system sticks you into the endless loop. When I did reach a human, she claims the check came via USPS 6 weeks. Oh, no tracking number though. I asked for a new check to be issued, she says, "No... Ask everyone in your home first and then call us back". Uhhhh, I'm the only adult in this home. Either way no check, no refund, $25 lost with this company.

    Doesn't allow transactions to be cancelled without making you jump through hoops and file a paper dispute. Ridiculous. Customer service was clueless and rude. Also, I ordered a replacement card 3+ months ago and it STILL hasn't arrived. Will be switching to a different service as soon as possible.

    I bought a NetSpend card from a gas station a long while ago - and I'd lost it. It turned up several months later, only to find that the money I had put into the account was all gone due to "account maintenance." After a half hour on the phone I got my full amount back. After reactivating they sent me a new card in the mail which I activated, but it didn't work... so I put it on my desk and didn't touch it again. Then, over a month later I get another NetSpend card in the mail, also with my name on it. I go online to Netspend.com only to find that they had charged 12 bucks in account maintenance in the meantime. I just deactivated. But not without paying a $6 "account closing fee." Per my NetSpend agreement. Won't use them again.

    This is the second year I have had problems with this company and both times they have openly lied to me. Last year they froze my account, lied and said it was not their doing and only when I filed a formal complaint with the Federal Reserve did they backtrack and release my funds. This year, they say they have not received my refund from the IRS. A phone call to the IRS confirmed otherwise. They absolutely, positively received my refund and yet it is not on my account. I am currently in the process of filing yet another complaint.

    Does no one see the thousands upon thousands of complaints against this company? Is it not painfully obvious that theft is a part of this company's business model? Had I not filed a formal complaint with the US Federal Reserve last year then I would have had my money stolen by this company. This is partly my fault for believing them when they corrected the issue and assured me that nothing like this would ever happen again. Trust me, I called the IRS and was 100% assured that they had received my refund. Do all of these complaints, even to gov't agencies, just fall on deaf ears? How many people does this company have to defraud before something gets done about it?

    Netspend has a "refer a friend" thing where if you refer someone and they order, activate, and load at least $40, both you and the person referred gets $20. I followed all of these steps exactly how I was supposed to. However no bonus has been paid yet. I am being told that the person I referred did not enter the referral code although I was right there next to him and watched him do it. I also was getting emails throughout the process of him ordering the card. Then activating it and so on. In every email it said "you are this much closer to getting your bonus". So I know it was done right.

    The worst part is that I have been a loyal customer for about 5 years now and in that time I have had my direct deposit always go through this account. I have not been able to speak with a real manager either. Anytime I call I unfortunately get the person who barely speaks English on top of everything. I am giving them another day in hopes they contact me and either make it right or HONESTLY show me why I don't qualify for this. Otherwise I am going to continue to spread the word. Mistakes happen... it's about how and if they are fixed that make a difference to me. I feel cheated...

    I called on 04/24/17 dispute a 41.08 charge from Redbox. I was asked to email a dispute letter. I was given a email address. I did this while on the phone with CSR. I called today. Same as before when happened. "We never got it." When I pulled it from sent and read it the CSR said nothing he could do. They never got it so I will be using some other company. Your customer service is horrible. I do this for a living. You never say in so many words that the customer lied. Good luck. You folks need it.

    In February got in touch with Netspend about a future transaction from a scammer. Explained what happened and how these people work. Got in contact again, money was returned. Pending investigation which was awarded in scammers favor. None of this would have happened if my card was nuked in The first place.     My direct deposit has always been Wednesday's. Around 1:00 I call them and ask why is my direct deposit in my account. They of course blame my employer. Then I go to my payroll and of course they said it has been released. I called NetSpend back and of course after I let them know about my employer they decide to say yes Netspend is the problem.     I was going on disability and I had to get a card for my money to go into so I started using NetSpend. I pay mainly all my bills with it and some I can call on the phone and pay too. However, some of the places that used to be reload locations stopped doing it so now, I have to go to either Walmart or Western Union which is not that big of a hassle. I don't really save a lot but I love the fact that NetSpend has helped me to manage my money which was due to the text messages, which is my favorite thing about it. I also get my money a little earlier than I would if I was getting it any other kind of way.     This is the second time since I had my Prepaid MasterCard, and this has been the worst experience ever. It has been three weeks, and there is only $13.16 in my PayPal account. I have contacted customer service, done three-way calls with PayPal, been hung up on, had my account elevated, and still haven't gotten a return call. Still waiting on a promised call from Netspend Corporate. Netspend issues and administers the Prepaid MasterCard. I am at a loss. This is the final straw. I will be filing complaints with BBB and ConsumerAffairs. If someone has any ideas, please share. I am literally at my wits' end. And I know I could just transfer to my bank account, but that will take too long. You have to have the account verified with the small deposits. As of now, it is strictly the principle of the matter.

    I applied for a card & received the card a week later. When I called to activate it they told me they needed some document to verify my identity. I fax it over 4 times. Every time I faxed it over they keep saying they did not received it, this went on for 4 weeks. I could never get a straight answer from them & when I ask to speak to a supervisor they said one was not available. Obvious they do not want my business so I got another prepaid debit card with no problem. Their customer service representative are not very helpful. By the way I did mail the document & got the same answer. "We did not received them." If this is the runaround I am getting now I could only imagine if I ever had a dispute. Stay away from Netspend.

    I've had NetSpend for a few years now and I use it for everything. I like that I am able to use it for online purchases and like a regular credit card. Since using my card, the cash back rewards have been nice. When someone in New York emptied my account at an ATM, NetSpend gave me all my money back. However, once I tried to make a payment for a Citibank credit card, Citibank wouldn't accept NetSpend for some reason. ATM fees are also expensive. Other than that, NetSpend has been good.

    At first, I wanted to use the NetSpend card for online shopping and now, I do more online shopping especially using the virtual card feature. Also, I'm able to know what I spent, see it in real time and get text updates of how much money I have left which is always a plus. However, I talked to the people at Netspend once when I didn’t know that there was an extra charge if I use the ATM. The extra $3 I get charged on top of the ATM fee is a bit much. But they explained everything to me. One thing I didn’t like was that in getting all that information, I asked for a quick balance update and got charged $0.50 or $0.75. But overall, it's good.

    I am 19. Bought a prepaid Visa card from Giant and paid $250 cash to load. It was a week of hell just applying. I sent everything they asked 7 times through email. I had government ID, social security card and voter registration card. I was still turned down with put a single reason and now have to wait an additional 10 days for a check to come for my refund. I was born and raised in Virginia dis w/ everything right! Used my first paycheck and lost my cash for weeks. Do not get a prepaid visa through Netspend. Not worth it!

    My tax check was deposited onto my Netspend card and I went to the ATM to withdrawal money and all but $7 is gone. Someone sent the money to themselves, making it appear to be from me, AND reported my card stolen (which it's right here in my hand). I called customer service and they told me it would take TEN days to investigate. I don't have TEN days!! That's my bill and rent money. I can't pay rent. This is absolutely ridiculous and I absolutely cannot believe that nothing can be done sooner. I am headed now to file a police report. I was able to obtain the lady's name who took my money and I don't know her, never heard of her. I'm extremely upset and even more upset at the fact that this billion dollar company (FDIC insured by the way) is unable to prevent these things from happening and are absolutely clueless as to what to do when they DO happen.     Been a customer for over ten years. Money has been taken on several occasions. Small amounts. On this occasion April 30, 2017 I had over 1200 dollars taken off my card. My rent money, my car payment. Which I only got a text alert for one card. I have two separate accounts. I called, did a claim with their rude customer service representative. Did everything they asked. Had to order two new cards which I paid to have expedited.

    A few days later after their so called investigation they closed my account. No explanation until I get a letter saying, "Oh it's suspicious." I have been a customer for over 10 years and now it's over a thousand dollars missing and it's suspicious. You right about that. My company and I are in the skylight program where we encourage people to use the NetSpend prepaid cards. Not anymore. I'm looking into giving RushCard those millions because you cant be trusted. I want my money back. I even had SSD payments going on the card every month. They closed everything without telling me I had one day to change my direct deposit info. I should have never trusted this company. I would like someone to help get a class action lawsuit started. Imagine all the people whose money they take and then say, "Oh we think it's suspicious". It's our money and we have a right to have it protected.

    I love NetSpend but I don't like the way they work sometimes. I've been using them for six years. However, I feel like getting out at times. I had a problem with them. They put a block on my card. I've been calling to tell them to take it off but they don't take that block off. I'm still fighting with that. The reps said they're gonna do it, but it's still not removed. I feel that they push me off the side and they're not really listening to me. I've been trying for almost a year.

    The first time they told me the reason for that was because somebody tried to take money out of there. But, I need my family to send me money and they couldn't because of the block. I told them to replace the card so it will work. However, no matter how many cards they send me, the block is still there. At the beginning, it was beautiful. I didn't have problems at all. But lately, I'm not satisfied with NetSpend.

    I bought this reloadable Visa card to have a way to buy items online and to use for my elderly grandmother. However when I started to activate the card by phone it did not ask me all the questions so it transferred me to a specialist. As I was waiting on the specialist to come to the line, I read up on the card thoroughly. I was surprised to read there was basically a fee for every transaction requiring a PIN number ($2 fee) or signature ($1 fee). This was not disclosed on the outside of the package. I had to open the package to be informed of the fee amount attached to the card. If I would have known the fees were so high per transaction I would never purchased this card.

    I wish NetSpend would have been more transparent when it came down to their fees. Also they charge a fee for inactivity ($5.95) which I thought was crazy. Ultimately, I called the customer service line and requested for them to reimburse me the money loaded onto the card and just sucked up losing the $3.95 which was the cost to purchase the Visa card.

    My Netspend Control Card has been good. I haven't had any problems with it. With this, nobody can just access my accounts or overdraft it. It's more secure. I've paid bills and made online purchases with it. I called in a couple of years ago. I bought something and tried to cancel my order and they wouldn't cancel it. But I didn't get my merchandise either. So, they gave me a full refund. It took about six months, but they gave me a full refund. It's a good card. You always get paid two days earlier than you're supposed to. I had even talked to my mom into getting one.

    Do not use Netspend!!! Purchased one of these cards at a retailer with a $100 balance. I activate the card online and tried to purchase something but it didn't work so l didn't use the card for a while. Today I tried to purchase again and it didn't work so I called customer service to find out my balance is $0. The reason my balance was $0 is because if you don't use your card within 90 days they start charging you $5 fee unit your balance is $0. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND NETSPEND!!!

    Netspend Reloadit pack is a fraud. They sell it but do not honor or service pack. Their customer service and reloadit customer service is a joke no one will help me. Just pass me off to someone who is less help or to call a phone number that is even less help. There is no real time help. I have been trying to load money from Netspend reloadit pack since April 18, 2017 and still no money, I can't even sign into reloadit website. I have spent 100's of hours on this reload along with large chain retailer that sold me Netspend reloadit pack. They have pull all the Netspend cards and reload packs from shelves because of lack of service in helping resolve this matter. I would never recommend Netspend to anyone in fact will warn against.

    I am so fed up. I tried using my card and it asked for my zip but said it was incorrect, which it was not, I only have one zip code I ever use. So it declined me 3 times but for some reason that money was still taken out of my account 3x!!! And the fees to use the card as well. I called and the lady gave me a hard time like I was lying!! I wanted to take 3000 off of my card but I would have been charged 70.00 wtf. I decided to just close my account and to receive a check mailed to me with my account balance. I was told 7-10 business day but today is 15 business days wtf! I need my money and they are telling me to call USPS... What can USPS possibly do if Netspend never put tracking numbers on checks they send out. I'm so frustrated and fed up. Please do not give Netspend your money.

Please be sure of the address on file when attempting online transactions. If the transaction was declined and is pending on your account, this does not mean that the merchant is going to collect.     Also in regards to withdrawals, if you want to debit larger amounts of cash you can do so by completing a Visa Cash Advance. This function can be completed at any local bank that accepts the Visa or MasterCard logo. You will need your photo id along with your debit card and your exact account balance. Also when requesting the funds be mindful of the fee associated with the over the counter withdrawal, because the transaction will decline if the funds are not available for the fee.

    NetSpend was the easiest way for where I first started working as a truck driver. They could load my money on my card. They weren't really doing a direct deposit with the banks yet but they would do it on a prepaid card. I've been with NetSpend for almost 16 years. I use it all the time to pay bills and make online purchases and I like the convenience.

    My daughter also has one in my name where I could give her money. Then, I went to get my son one about a month and a half ago. He's got a card that is in my husband's name now so that we could keep sending money over to him without them fighting over who’s using what money. That way, if she's got a card, he's got a card. But he's gonna turn 19 so, I was trying to get him one in his name but I've had troubles so, I had to call back.

    We've done everything that they have asked us to do. He has dropped out of high school so, he doesn't have a high school picture and an ID card. He has a learner's permit but he didn't go to take his driver's test and it expires. He can't get another one until I come in and we're trying to explain it to them. They kept saying they'll accept that one but they won't accept that and I've had so much headache trying to get the family a card. The last time I spoke to a person at NetSpend, I told them I was probably gonna close all of my accounts then and go with a Blue Dot card because it's the same thing and I won't have all the headaches because we'll all have our individual card. But the majority of the time, I'm satisfied with my NetSpend card. My kids love it because they are able to use it and they're getting the option of knowing what money is all about. It's a good thing especially when they are teenagers and they live at home by their self.

    Paying bills and making an online purchase through Netspend has been fairly easy. I search and find what I want and then it's pretty much good to go. I wish Netspend could take more money out from the ATM or they should have their own ATM that doesn't charge every time. I'm actually waiting on a transaction that they were supposed to investigate for me but I haven't heard anything back as of yet. I read it may take up to 60 days and it's been 60 days right now.     My husband used to cash his checks at Ace Check Cashing until he was convinced to get direct deposit on one of the Netspend cards they use. In my opinion the fees were a bit higher than I preferred but it was convenient for him so we kept it. We got our tax refund on it and he got his checks deposited bi-weekly. For over a year we paid the fees and never had any complaints. March 2017 money was withdrawn from his account while we slept. We didn't find this out until I tried to pay our rent. While on hold for customer service more money was withdrawn. By the time we were able to speak to someone over $500 had been stolen leaving a balance of $13 and change. We were hung up on twice before we reach a representative that was willing to assist us. If you can imagine we were upset, frustrated, and confused. The representative immediately deactivated the card and explained to us the process of filing a dispute.

    The next day we faxed off the letter exactly as we had been instructed to do, then followed up with another call to customer service during which we were told we should have a refund by the 31st. Instead we received a letter explaining that we were not getting a refund because it was a pin transaction. Even if cameras show that it wasn't him or me the fact that they had a pin means we must have authorized the withdrawal of our rent money. So as we sit here still waiting on the "replacement" card (which we're never going to get) with the $13 and change, we keep hearing about thieves who can clone your card just by walking within 5ft of your purse or wallet.

    No one should be able to do this! This is why they make chip cards! Netspend doesn't have chip cards! So be careful!!! Netspend will take all of their fees but not protect your money or refund money that is stolen. We still have not recovered from being robbed. We go to court for eviction Tuesday. After being homeless with our children for three years we finally get on our feet. For two years we've been able to maintain. Now we face being homeless again all for trusting the wrong card company. Some people still live check to check, and $500 is a lot of money. That means the difference between being able to provide a safe place for your children to sleep or not sleeping to make sure your children are safe.

    I used to have RushCard and I didn't like them. They weren't very secure because somebody accessed my account and wiped it out at one point. After RushCard, I went to Netspend.     Because I had a prepaid card before that didn't work out, I wanted to give NetSpend a try. I use my NetSpend card for everything, and it's convenient. I use direct deposit. I like it because it allows me to get my money a few days earlier than a regular bank account. The customer service people are very consistent and good about replacing my card if it needs to be replaced. If I call and have any questions or concerns, they've been really good about that, as well. Sometimes, because they may be out-of-country, there could be a language issue where I may have a hard time understanding them. The other day, I called because I needed to load some money and the rep was not understanding what I was stating, so she put me back to the IVR. But other than that, I'm happy with everything.     I've been with NetSpend for eight years. I contacted them about something that had to do with the overdraft and was trying to find information out but the person I was talking to didn't seem like they wanted to give me any information. So I immediately hung up on them. Then after that, I called back to speak with someone else and as we were talking, the girl on the phone had a heavy accent and I asked her, “Well, is there someone there who doesn’t have an accent as heavy as yours, maybe, or the supervisor I can speak to?” She gave me to another person but with an accent just as heavy as hers. When I asked, “Are you the supervisor?” The person got really indignant with me and never answered. I asked again, “Are you the supervisor?” And then when I asked what her name was, again she got really upset with me and hung up on me.

    Then when I tried to call back, they will say, “Hold on. All our technicians are busy right now. Your call will be answered in turn,” and then it would send me right back to the automated system. I got this one guy then it took me 20 minutes to get anybody on the phone after that. This went on for an hour so I gave up. Their customer service call center doesn't sound like it's in the States because I've had this problem off and on for years. I’m not prejudiced but people who don't speak English fluently has a tendency not to hear me. It’s like, “I just asked you a question and you just overlooked the question and went on to say something else.” Also, if I go online and ask questions, it's a lot of typing. There's a live agent but then, still, I run into the same thing.

    The card works for me. I’ve investigated other cards because of customer service and nobody does what NetSpend does for me, so I’m staying with them. I use the direct deposit more frequently and that way, I get my money early and get to pay my bills way before they're due so that's a good thing. There was only one place where I've had a problem using the card. I tried to join the YMCA which offered what they call a grant so I can join at a discounted rate. I went on with the process and YMCA wanted to know whether I have a bank card, because I’m on SSI and they made me eligible to even try but because of my NetSpend card, YMCA denied me. But I recommend NetSpend all the time. I just hate it when I have to call customer service.

    On 4/12/17 I noticed that there were several unauthorized charges on my account totaling in the amount of $324. Someone had not only duplicated my card but had also obtained my PIN for my account. I would NEVER share my account information with anyone. I immediately contacted Netspend and filed a dispute and also contacted local law enforcement to file a report. I have been a loyal customer with Netspend for years and had never had any issues up to this point. They informed me that an investigation will take up to 10 business days and as of today 04/26 I contacted Netspend and they informed me that the investigation had been closed and they determined no error on the account.

    I have never been so pissed and frustrated as I've work hard for my money! I will no longer be using their service and will never refer anyone else to them again! They did a lousy job of "investigating" because if they were to really look into my account I have a plethora of charges and have never disputed ANY, only these recent ones that I did not make! On top of that they acted like they were not concerned with my issues with terrible customer service! Thanks for nothing Netspend!!

    I didn't have a checking account and I went with NetSpend since they were the fastest and the easiest, and the best way to be able to get the money in direct deposit. It's convenient using the card. I can go online and look for anything and I get my money at least about a day and a half earlier than everyone else does. I use the direct deposit more but I have used the reload location way back 10 years ago and it wasn't too bad. It's nice also with the NetSpend team, which is the best one in the business.     I used to be with AccountNow but they went out of business. I had to choose a different card but I wanted the same type of service. And NetSpend was offering that, you get your money a couple of days earlier than normal. Mine comes as a direct deposit and they give you a predetermined date of when it’s gonna hit. And my money always hits on the exact day. Also, by getting the money a little bit earlier, I basically get to choose what part to pay my bills rather than having that certain part where I have to pay them. I can choose my own dates as far as certain bills are concerned.

    And I pay bills with my NetSpend all the time. I also use it for online purchases. It's been very convenient, especially with me being disabled. They also offer Anytime Alerts where any time you spend any amount, even if someone else has your card and spends off of it, it's gonna automatically come direct to your phone - the amount that was spent and who, what location or store, and the merchant that it was spent at. I really love that aspect of it.

    I've had difficulty with merchants but NetSpend reps are always very polite and they always investigate. They've refunded my money each and every time. So I have no complaints with them. I've been with NetSpend for years. I love it and I plan on staying with them. I hope they don't go out of business. I would definitely recommend them and I have recommended. Most of my family got NetSpend.

    I liked the idea of having a prepaid card that I can attach to my paycheck and NetSpend was the one offered at the time. It helps me keep track of my account better. There's instant text whenever I use it and I can keep account of how much I have. Also, the direct deposit is fast and using it to make online purchases is very convenient, too.

    For the most part, my experience has been working out really well. I’ve been with them for over five years now and it’s definitely a company that I would go to but my only concern is their customer service and taking care of the issue is really lacking. My wife lost a card so I’ve been trying to replace it and they only allow one to have three cards at a time. The previous cards that I’ve had, they haven’t taken them off my account but these are not active and nobody can use them but because it shows that I have three cards out, it’s been a hard time trying to get a replacement.     I had a bad experience with banks and I don’t trust them. I saw Netspend on TV and I called and ordered one. It’s been good ever since. I don’t get paid two days before my date, but it comes every week. I can call and ask them different stuff and they can answer all my questions. Then I got an extra couple of people on with them. I was on Instagram and I've seen that with RushCard there was a lot of people that didn’t get their money and they weren’t able to solve the problem for two months. People weren’t getting their paychecks. I was like, “Oh, no.” I investigated and I never heard anything bad about Netspend. Nothing’s perfect but I have no issues to where it wasn’t solved. I’m okay with them.

    When you swipe your card, it lets you know exactly how much is there including the change. You know how much you’re going to go over, just in case you might do an overdraft. Everything is great cause every time I do a transaction it gives me a text alert and lets me know what it is and everything. I like that. Then also, if something isn’t right, like if your name and other info is incorrect when something gets deposited, they won’t deposit to make sure it’s you. That’s good and bad, but I like it. If I have a problem I can call and they usually fix it. Today I got charged $10 because I have the $5 monthly payment, fee, and I hadn’t used my card in a month. But other than that, they’ve helped me with everything. I recommend them to everybody. Nothing's perfect, we mess up. The thing I like about it is when you have a problem they are able to help you solve the problem. I love Netspend.

    This company has been a nightmare to deal with! Customer Service is terrible and trying to get my business verified has been a disaster! I have had a large deposit returned because of them and my pay is going to be delayed a week! Went thru verification process at least 2-3 weeks ago and NEVER received notice that additional information was needed. Had my employer do a test deposit that went thru just fine. I assumed all was good. When it came time for my $1100.00 deposit to go thru all of the sudden there is a problem! Supervisors do no good, just promise calls back and never follow thru.     I have been with NetSpend for a long time. I'm the cardholder and my name and my whole picture are on the card but still, my fiancée is the primary and she doesn't even have a card. I had some issues with their team going through the process of how she got to be primary. They said they have no way of changing it and neither do I. I don't understand how come no one has the authority to change a primary on an account when it's done through deposit. Somebody somewhere has got to be able to change something. I also don't understand how that happened because I was already using NetSpend before she even got one. It's my card and it's in my name. My checks go direct deposit to my card. I wish that I could be put back as the primary instead of her.

    But if I had any problem with it, I could cancel it and get another one to put in my name so it's not a big deal. Also, it works great. The good thing about it is you can put a certain amount on the card. Then, you spend that amount without having to worry about anything else coming out or anybody trying to get anything off your card like a credit card which is the most inefficient way it can ever be - the way they hack, go in the target database and all kinds of department stores' database and getting credit card information. So, that's the most beneficial part of it that when there isn't any money on there or if you put the money on there and spend it, nobody can get it.

    It also helps me pay my bills which is very convenient for me and even if I can't pay them online, I can always go to a store here in Kansas City. I got about General that fields NetSpend cards and I can go back to Money Express where I first got it from and get a refill. It's all been official in every way. One other good thing about it is that it has my whole picture on the front of the card in the middle instead of a little picture of my face in the corner. Every time I go somewhere and give them my card, I get a compliment on my picture. If somebody doing their job at a place got that for ID, they'd know if it isn't you on that card.

    I recently turned 18 and wanted to buy this Netspend Visa prepaid card to make online purchases with ease. The low-down of my experience: Out $130. Terrible customer support in general. Multiple agents gave me conflicting answers for various questions, causing much headache and wasted time. Told me at first that a student ID is not a valid form of identification for them. Another agent then told me it was a proper form of ID. When I emailed a photo of my student ID, it got declined, and therefore wasted my time yet again. Told me my Social Security number was associated with a deceased individual. Told me to travel to my local Social Security office, which I did, only to find out that 100% of my information was absolutely fine.

    Called in to have my funds mailed to me after I decided enough was enough. I explained to the agent that we might get disconnected due to bad service. I told the agent I did not want the check sent to the address on the card for security reasons. We were almost done with the call and I was about to give him my desired mailing address for the check when we got disconnected. I called back when I got home, and found that my account had already been closed and the check had been mailed to the address on file which I did not desire.

    I purchased the card after spending about 5 minutes looking through my options, which was the biggest mistake of my life, as a quick scan of online reviews such as this could have saved myself, and the next 5 days resulted in much headache and unnecessary stress. I loaded $130 onto the card. Upon arriving home that night, I attempted to activate the card, only to receive an error that stated that I would be required to call customer service. I called, spent about 5 minutes working through their grapevine of an automated system, only to find out that customer service was closed for the night.

    I called again the next day upon the customer service center opening, where I was told that my Social Security number was linked to a deceased person... At this point, I was less worried about activating my card, and more worried about the validity of their statement. They told me to go to a local Social Security office, which I did, where I found that all of my information was clean and that I was not linked to a dead person. They also had told me that I could email them photos of my Social Security card, proof of residence, and initially I was told that a valid state ID or driver's license would be required, if I verified my Social Security number wasn't at fault.

    I don't have any form of state ID or driver's license, as I am a student who does not drive and up until now have not needed an official ID. All I have is a student ID, which I was told blatantly by multiple agents would NOT be accepted. So at this point I figured I was rather S.O.L. I called them again and told them that I verified my Social Security information as being correct, and I asked what my options were. The rep I got on the line this time told me that I COULD email them all of the required documents, AND they told me that my student ID would "absolutely be accepted if it is valid for the current year."

    I emailed all of my documents, went to work, and when I got out of work, everything except my Social Security card was declined. I then immediately called Netspend for what I thought would be the last time to have them mail me my funds back to my address. I told the rep that I did not want the check sent to my house for security reasons, and I told him that we might get disconnected because I had garbage service at the time. Of course, we get to the point where I'm about to give him the desired mailing address, only for us to get disconnected.

    When I got home I called back, and found out that my account had already been closed and the check had been sent to my home address. This isn't the end of the world but they certainly jumped the gun in closing my account and processing the check. Netspend by far has the absolute WORST customer service I have ever dealt with. Of course the call center is outsourced, although I will give them props for all speaking understandably. Multiple agents were rather rude in tone and rather unsympathetic to my issues. I was given conflicting answers from multiple agents on multiple occasions.

    As it currently stands, the check is in the mail on its way to my house. I'm hopeful that it does indeed arrive and I would like to update this review if possible when/if it does. I urge anyone considering a prepaid card to NOT choose Netspend, and anyone else with a negative experience should most definitely leave a review such as this. 30 seconds of an internet search would yield countless negative reviews for Netspend, and would have saved me 5 days of my time.

    On March 31, 2017 I had 4 unauthorized ATM withdrawals of 200.00. The total stolen was 800.00. The money was withdrawn from an ATM in San Pedro Texas. I lived in Alexandria VA. I called Netspend immediately to cancel my card. I opened a claim and it was refused! I deposit 10K per month via direct deposit for the last 7 years and they refuse to return my money! This is a horrible bank with zero security measures to protect you and your money! I filed a police report and I'm fighting them but I wanted you all to run! Do not bank with Netspend! I had never made a transaction in the city and the amount was strange too! The claim said they thought I benefited from the transactions! How? Why steal from myself? This bank is dishonest and unreliable!

    NetSpend is just fantastic and I love it. I’ve been with them for four years now and I have had no problems. If I wanted to dispute a transaction, it’s done. I recommend them to anybody and everybody. I like it because I can have automatic withdrawals. I can put my bills to where they’re automatically paid out of NetSpend and I don’t have to pay extra. I don’t have to stand in long lines to pay my bills. I also do direct deposits. I just gave them the routing number and the account number and the direct deposit was set up.

    NetSpend is also very convenient because I can go online, check my balance, and see if my things come through and how much was taken out of my account for each transaction. They also have a $10 that you can go over your limit. And that’s nice because if I’m running low or need something later on in the month, I can spend that extra $10 and not have to pay a late fee or overdraft fee. Their reps were very informative and polite as well. They were very explanative toward me for things. And if you pay attention, you can understand what they’re saying. They speak better English and that’s important. I have had no trouble with them any time I have called.

    I had an issue with my PayPal prepaid NetSpend card where I withdrew money from a Cardtronics ATM, the ATM malfunctioned, never dispensed my money, but debited my account. I called the ATM company (Cardtronics), and they told me I had to call my card provider. I called the NetSpend number, and after filing a dispute to get provisional credit, I was sent an email with my claim amount and claim number. The problem? My claim number was empty and my claim amount was 0.

    So I sent in a written letter via email to get provisional credit without a claim number because after asking to speak with a supervisor 3 separate times, I was put on hold for 30 minutes EVERY TIME OUT OF ALL 3 TIMES I ASKED, then the phone call started from the beginning with the recording asking for my card number and I ended up at another agent. They sent me in a loop for an hour and a half just trying to get a supervisor so I can make sure my dispute was going smoothly so I can get my money back.

    It's embarrassing for a company this large to screw people like this. Go ahead, try asking to speak with a manager or supervisor, they tell you "Ok, Sir, I've got my supervisor here for you. One moment while I transfer" and you wait 30 minutes on hold only to be rerouted to the beginning of the phone call and end up with another rep. Happened 3 times in a row on the SAME PHONE CALL. If you care about your money, stay as far as away from NetSpend cards as possible.

    On April 6 2017 I used my Netspend Visa to attempt to withdraw 300 dollars at a RaceTrac ATM in Garland, Tx. Attempt was declined and I was given a receipt. On my second attempt I was given 300 dollars. That was the max you could withdraw but my text alerts said I withdrew 600. I immediately filed a dispute. Wrote the letter and emailed Netspend the receipt that showed my first attempt declined. As of April 13 2017 no resolution and none in sight. Worst experience ever. Totally dissatisfied. Out of 302.50. No help period from Netspend.

    I've been with NS for over 5 years. I was ok with the card until recently when someone stole my account information and stole over $130 at a Walmart in Texas. I live over 500 miles from the location that the charges were made at. Whomever stole my information made 3 back to back charges before NS locked my account. I filed a dispute with NS about the charges once I checked my email and noticed the alerts. It's obvious that NS know and/or suspect that the charges are fraudulent because they locked my account. Not to mention. I was at home paying bills on the card during the time of the transactions.

    Note I worked in accounting and with credit card merchants, disputes and settlements for over 20 years. Trust me, the bank (your cardholder) does not have to wait 10 to 45 days to reverse the charges on your account if they are caught prior to them being paid. I called within 24 hours to report the charges. NS has made a choice to make me wait for my monies. I don't need to do business with a company who treats their customer like this. Not to mention they email and tell you the same scripted BS when and/or if you have a question about anything.

    Do not use NetSpend!!! They are a sham! I got my income tax over a week ago. I was approved by Liberty Tax & the IRS but NetSpend will not approve access to my funds!!! They are extremely unhelpful, rude, & scams! They require a picture via email of your social security card, ID, & proof of address. I sent in a letter from Pendot, a summons from a court house, and a few other documents from Liberty Tax, & they refuse to exempt them. It is completely ridiculous that I was approved by Liberty Tax & the IRS but NetSpend refuses to give me access to my account. They also refuse to provide a Corporate Office or Legal Department contact information.

    I am currently in the process of taking legal action against NetSpend. They say they will send me a paper check in 10 to 15 business days. But they refuse to refund the $50 fee & all the charges they have added for me trying to gain access to my account. I am extremely dissatisfied with NetSpend. They are a scam. Go to Walmart & get a prepaid card. There are less fees & your money will be available to you when YOU need it! After all it's your money you should have access. Please really consider using any prepaid card other than NetSpend!!!

    I found NetSpend through my sister and I've been with them for a couple of years now. If I didn't like it, I would have stopped using them a long time ago. I do online transactions and I like that I get my check a day or two earlier. I have also used the reload locations but not that often. These locations were close to me but if I can't find one, I'd look it up. Since I've been with them, there was just that one thing that was charged in my account. When it happened, I had only $10 in my account and I went into overdraft. It was about $15 for the extra money that was charged to my account but they took care of it right away and they put the money back to my account. They sent me an email letting me know that they looked into it about 45 days ago and then they gave me a message the other day that they closed the case and they reimbursed it. I was satisfied.

    I went to an ATM to withdraw money. The machine did not dispense the money yet it was taken off my card. I sent a pic of the transaction receipt showing that I did not receive the money I requested and I was told it would take a minimum of 10 days.     I have used NetSpend for a couple of years now and I love that I get my paycheck direct deposited early each week. However earlier this week I received a notification that someone used my card number for an online transaction that cost over $1800! I immediately contacted NetSpend to let them know of the fraud and cancelled the card. They said that once it posted I could file a dispute. We then called the merchant that the order had been placed with and they were very helpful. They said that since the scammer did not have all of my correct information they would cancel it on their end. They even gave me an authorization number for NetSpend. This transaction has still not fallen off my pending so I am stuck. I cannot dispose it until it falls off which I am told may be thirty days.

    NetSpend customer service has been very unhelpful and I cannot even understand what they are saying due to strong accents. I have direct deposit so they are protected on their side if the merchant suddenly decided to take the money back out but since it has been in pending for more than a week I believe that should show that it was cancelled. $1800 is a lot of money and I should not have to wait a month to get that back. I would like to know who I should contact to expedite a refund. Thank you!

    I've been with NetSpend for the last four years and I never had any real problem with them. I had car loans through them and they're a quick place for me to go cash my paycheck sometime. They seem pretty good that's why I chose them over others, however I had some problems especially when it came down to my tax return time. They locked me out of my account. And it's pretty awkward using them in certain machines because they charge a higher fee. In some places, they charge $6 just for a withdrawal.

    Also, one time, when I asked to speak with a supervisor, the rep put me on hold then she turned around and tried to make it seem like she was going to transfer me over. Then she came back on to try to see if she could still try to help me even though I preferred the supervisor at that moment. Once I got to talk to the supervisor they kept apologizing for it. Other than that, NetSpend is really good. My statements are always on time, they let me know as soon as they come up and are available for me to go get and look at them.

    Purchased one of these cards at a retailer with a $100 balance. Went to activate the card online, entered the card number and 3 digit code. Nothing happens, just get the busy icon on the screen. Tried this for three consecutive days with the same results. So I had to call to activate the card. To use this card fully, you have to provide your social security number. I am not comfortable doing this esp. talking to someone overseas. So she tells me the card can be activated for purchases just not reloading. Okay fine. So the card is activated. I go to use the card and it does not work. I call back, and I was told it wasn't activated. She does a few things and tells me it has now been activated. But I go to use the card again, and it has NOT been activated. Honestly, I feel like someone stole a hundred dollars from me.

    I absolutely love my NetSpend card. I have already recommended it to my mom and sister. Whenever I have a purchase problem the response is quick and is solved quickly. I also love my savings account.     I will never get a NetSpend card or be affiliated with this company again. Last year, My husband I did joint tax refunds last year. His portion was placed on his card. When my portion was to be placed on my card. They returned my check to the IRS stating that one of my account numbers were wrong. I sent the correct numbers. I ended up getting audited, I had letters sent to my house a whole year telling me about reductions and deductions. In the end I received no check. I was without transportation.

    So this year. I decided to give them another try. Well the IRS sent my refund Three days ago... and guess what. Still not posted to my account. They claim they have to receive a "check" from the IRS. They are full of crap. They do not get you your refund two days faster. That's a lie. I was told I would have to wait 3 to 5 days to receive my money that the IRS as already sent. PLEASE DO NOT GET A NETSPEND CARD. THEY DO NOT GIVE YOU YOUR REFUNDS FASTER.     Well I had a NetSpend card sent to me from TurboTax. Everything was OK until I realized someone had been using my card at an ATM. Once I figured out how to look online at my statement I noticed a lot of charges were not because of me so I hit the dispute button that they provided online. They gave me ** as to why they can't provide credit. At first it was wait 20 days because I had to order a new account and when the 20th day came they said that they couldn't provide it because I never sent a letter. Need I remind you they never ever told me anything about sending a letter. My friend has their card and not once did they ask him for a letter with any dispute.

    They had me talk to a man named "Dave" but I highly doubt he's a real person. They made an error or either they're being ** and just won't credit my money to my account. Now I'm beat out of 1000.00. I think this company is a joke. I've never had this problem anywhere else. They send you the same automated messages and put people who can barely speak English to handle your problems and they don't even hear what you're trying to say. They also charge me 5.95 for a replacement card which at the time it was to order another card and they charge me a 5.00 account fee but they can't credit my damn money to my account. My police department even has the person that used my card but these dumb people are just holding on to money I didn't spend. And I can't talk to anyone. Bottom line DO NOT GO TO NETSPEND. THEY ARE FRAUDS.

    My finances has gotten a lot worse ever since I've had NetSpend. I got about nine fraudulent charges in one month. The charges were made online for stuff out in Phoenix and I've never been to Phoenix in years. But they said I did it, so I had to pay $700. I got identity theft turned in a lot last year and they remedied about 25% of them but 75% I had to pay.

    Every time something’s taken from my card, I get a phone call or a text asking if it was me and I'll text back immediately yes or no. I also had to cancel my card and get a new number. And then I saw two fraudulent charges on the second account and so I went online and cancelled it. To replace the card, it'd cost me $10 but when I called the last time, it was replaced for free, which was nice. I told the rep seven times that I had two fraudulent charges and he said they were going to verify my identification all over again. I don't get a card for another 10 days and my money's on the bank and I can't access it.

    I can prove it's fraudulent, but NetSpend says this is my fault with my habit of spending. I've notified NetSpend about these charges so many times and talking to them is like talking to a wall. But sometimes I let it go 'cause I don’t want to go through the hassle of calling NetSpend trying to get reimbursed 'cause, most of the times, it's not reimbursed. I'm keeping records of the fraudulent charges and whether NetSpend reimburses me or not, I'd still give them to a detective.

    I use NetSpend for very few online purchases and to pay bills online. It's a convenient process but it's very unsafe and unsecure. They need a double-check system. There's not enough encryption and not enough prevention out there about hackers. I've been looking and I will be switching cards when I find a better one. Overall, my experience with NetSpend has been unsatisfactory and the communication has been poor.

    I have been with NetSpend for almost 5 years without any issues, until tonight. I was transferring money from my account to my daughter's. Somehow the funds went to her old account that was suppose to be closed due to fraudulent activity. Spoke with a SUP and was informed she would transfer the funds to the correct account if my daughter would call in, called back in on a conference call with my daughter and was told by another SUP "Mia" that the previous info we were given was incorrect. Called back and got another SUP "Tony" who informed us the old account hadn't been closed correctly and he would ensure it was closed. He also stated because of the inconvenience he would credit me back 10.00 but couldn't credit the full 40.00. I agreed and decided to let it go.

    However after not finding the credit, I decided to call back. I spoke with a rep that stated there was no mention on the account and that the offer of such a credit was not in their guidelines. I asked for a SUP, was left on hold 38mins. Called back and requested another SUP, left on hold that time for 20mins. Finally spoke with a SUP named Alex. She stated she would put the credit of 11.00 on card. This Philippines location needs to be shut down, it is filled with incompetent and rude workers. I have decided to take my funds and go to a Credit Union. I would advise everyone to do the same. If not a Credit Union perhaps another prepaid company, there are 1,000's.

    I have been robbed by this company. I advise anyone using this new NetSpend premier card take and close the account. You Never speak to a manager or employee that was born in the United States. I was hung up on over and over again giving me different information when I have proof of every lie that came from the employees and management. I will seek justice for the wrong. I have sent email after email no response. I was told my money would be returned to my card. Lie. I was told my dispute was never filed. Lie. The merchant never sent the refund back. Lie. I wasn't the only one who's card was used. We live in the same house. All use the same card company NETSPEND PREMIER. All of our cards used on the same bill. They money refunded. My money haven't been sent really. I'll let you put the puzzle together and save yourself the headache that comes with being a card holder with NETSPEND PREMIER.

    On April 1st I was shocked to receive an email notification from NetSpend that my account is negative... so I checked my transactions and saw two unauthorized withdrawals at an ATM which is nowhere close to where I'm at and that the time of transaction I was just getting off work. I called customer service and was told that they will investigate. I was also asked for a written letter about the claim which I complied right away. This morning I receive an email informing me that the claim has been resolve but not to my favor so the stolen money was not credited back. There's no protection guarantee on this card. Even if I like the service I'm now scared to have my paycheck going to this Card now coz your card can be hacked and you're not protected.

    A coworker told me about NetSpend. When I signed up, they were saying that I could get my finances at least two days prior, but it wasn’t true. I was only getting it a day prior to my paycheck.     The card is very convenient. However, some of the fees in my opinion are a little bit unnecessary. We as customers pay a monthly fee. Not saying we shouldn't. I feel we should have the option to pay a higher monthly charge to have a certain amount of withdrawals per month. Example: we currently pay $5 just to have the account. Maybe raise that a few more dollars and allow the customer maybe a limit on actual ATM withdrawals. (Just as you do the customer on overdraft permission.) Come up with a concept to better serve the customer.

I have sent copies of drivers license, social security and mail with my name and address on it. They still won't release my money and have blocked me from logging into my account I set up with them.     I have been a NetSpend customer since 2006. It began with a prepaid card since I was long ago DONE with traditional checking accounts. With Netspend, I always know my available balance, I get immediate texts with activity and since this is our only account/debit card, I pay the monthly fee and have unlimited use. We are now both retired and all of our SSA and retirement funds are direct deposited. We also have some of our bills set up ACH with much success. I heard that you can now deposit other checks with a similar process to Chase Bank.

    I am technology challenged and usually if I have other funds to deposit, I go to our local Speedway for a reload. My only negative is that EVERY ATM has fee, even when I search out MetaBank ATM. I was told that Netspend and MetaBank are affiliates, but not the same, so STILL get charged a fee to use my money. How about a solution for that, at least for long time, permanent customers? I have no plans to ever change from Netspend, it is the best solution for myself and my partner. Thank you for many years of good service!!!

I have direct deposits with the NetSpend and there are reload locations near me as well. I use it when I'm paying my bills online and my finances are much better with it. However, the last time I called them about the direct deposit, they gave me tosses and turns. Normally, they'd send me a text or an email to explain how it's going and how they're doing it. I have set the information in, but it still goes to where I have to call them. But I still have recommended them to a lot of people because I liked NetSpend better than other prepaid debit card providers.

    I didn’t have a bank account and I was just getting a pay card from work so I got in touch with NetSpend. I didn’t think that there was anybody else and if there was, I would've chosen NetSpend anyway. I'm very happy with them and I like everything about them. I like it when I call customer service because I got all of my issues taken care of. I disputed an issue one time, and they took care of it. I get a text message every time I use my fund so I have a running account on how much I have visibly instead of having to do the math.

    I only use direct deposit options. I have used my card to pay bills and make online purchases and I’ve had no problems doing that at all. I love that even though the reps are not from America they’ve always repeated my question back to me to make sure that they understand it. Every single time I talk to NetSpend, I speak to the supervisor about what great customer service I've had. I called because I have an issue or want to do this and the foreign rep isn't so foreign that they can understand and take care of it right away every time.

    I recently called yesterday. I got my math wrong and I only have $3 in my account. I didn't have enough for the $5 monthly fee. So, I called them and asked them if they could not do the $5 this month because I don’t want to be in the hole. Then again next month, when I get my direct deposit, if I can go ahead and just call and add it back up and they said no problem. I have recommended NetSpend to people, especially to my mom. My mom is on Social Security and so am I. I get paid a week before everybody else.

    I get my social security disability through NetSpend, and I like the idea that I get text alerts when the card is used. Also, it gives me an up-to-date amount and how much I could spend. I’ve used some reloads lately, but mostly it’s direct deposits. The only problem that I had with NetSpend was when I set in the direct deposit for an annuity check that I would get, the insurance company refused it because it’s not a bank, per se. So I was never able to get that on a direct deposit. But that’s no big deal and I still had a satisfying experience with NetSpend.

    Years ago, a friend of mine was telling me how I can load the NetSpend card whenever. It was handy for me besides going to the bank. The only thing is it costs money to add money to the card. I wish it was free. I have other cards that I can load and it costs me nothing or little to nothing. But with my NetSpend card, I get paid sooner.     NetSpend customer service needs some Americans. When you call, they talk and just go on and on before they get to the issue on hand and they will repeat everything you say. You're thinking the whole time that you're talking to them that they already have the information to get inside your account but they still haven't done that. They've been telling me to hold on for a whole moment and they still haven't pulled up anything. They should get to the point. If somebody's already calling and upset about the situation, don't repeat what they're telling you. They do that with everybody. I've heard a couple of different conversations with people around me who now deal with NetSpend and they say the same thing. We put our phones down while they're talking and then when you're getting ready to hang up, they keep on going and it's frustrating. You can barely understand them.

    Also, I pay the monthly fee but every time I swipe my card out, there's an extra dollar on there from the store and from them. I'm paying $5 a month for that, so why are they still taking money out every time I use the card? It's baloney. But I get the deposit quick and it's convenient. They're cool and awesome, but they need different representatives.

    I had a transaction that was according to the merchant, its billing dept., customer service dept, local store, online dept, even Sam's Club determine the transaction was never actually made. This was an error. They have in no way any record of this transaction. No merchandise was ever ordered nor shipped. I was told by this retailer that I would have to dispute this charge thru my card, which I did. I was told it would take a couple days, and they asked if I could please send to them, the alert I was sent showing the receipt. I did so the same day, only to be lied to, hung up on, told various stories, excuses, and then, told it would be credited tomorrow. It was not.

    If anything I was given more of the excuses and downright lies by these people. Only to be told by the person who allegedly doing the investigation (that is now going to take at least 45 days as investigator determined this was an authorized transaction). That Walmart refused to reverse the charge... I was denied any provisionary comp. during this lengthy period, and they also chose to ignore the type of transaction and its lack of having a pin used... You do not swipe a debit card online, nor is a pin able to be entered. This was not a valid or realistic transaction!! Nobody would hear it. They acted like I was not telling the truth, and I wasn't allowed to speak to anyone else, no one would listen. Also I had Walmart go thru this twice, to no avail. I was told, it is an authorized transaction, and yet there is no way any part of this is right. It is fraud, and I don't believe the funds were paid to Walmart at all. Kept by NetSpend.

    I sent an email to a "Chuck" @netspend. It was fruitless. Phone calls were frustrating. I DOUBT there is a CHUCK, that has to be made up. I feel they are SCAMMERS from a middle eastern country. Their associates can hardly speak English. I reported a card problem and asked for a refund. I was told they would send it in 1 to 10 business days; he didn't ask for my address. He took the card number and then said, "okay" and tried to hang up. I asked, "don't you need my address?" Why wouldn't he ask me for my address when I tried to get a refund? I had to push a button to report the card stolen before I could get a live person who struggled to understand and communicate with me? What is going on here?

    That disclaimer about having to give them my personal information being a Gov. requirement is BS. Why don’t I have to give that same information to other loadable Visa cards? Other Visa cards are easy to load and use. On top of that, I feel they suckered me into opening an account only to charge me all types of fees. This is nothing more than a SCAM and I am spreading the word. Shame on HEB grocery store for condoning this!!! I have a major complaint for Headquarters.

    NetSpend has several different programs where you have discounts mainly at certain places each month. Then, they also have a virtual savings account attached to it. It lets me have a way to keep track of what I'm doing and they have the little pie-graph where it shows where my money is going.     Last year, I had a bad experience with NetSpend. I live in New Jersey and bought some tickets to go to Orlando for my vacation in September. I paid for a rental car online and the rental company charged me the money for the car. My trip to Orlando was in the first of October. When I got over there in Orlando, I went to Dollar to get the car, but the rental company said they cannot give me a car because I had a debit card. I said, "But I used my car when I rented it in Puerto Rico. It was the same NetSpend card that I used for that car rental, and it was okay." They said, "Yeah, but we only accept credit cards." Then I said that they had already charged me the first half of the payment, which was about $148. But they still refused to give me a car and service. I had money on my pocket so I spent more money and rented another car with another company. My money just went to waste with them. So, I had a bad night over there in Orlando.

    I made a dispute in October 16, 2016 and NetSpend told me that I have to wait until January 2017 to see the decision. Then they called me and said that the decision was in favor of the third party. I said, "How can this be? I didn't even receive any service that day for the car that I rented online with my card. How is it that NetSpend, like my bank, where I put my money and that saved my money over there, can release my money without checking with me or backing me up first, and not letting it go like that with a third party?" They said, "We can't do anything. You gotta call the police and make a report." I said, "I gotta make a police report when you guys are my bank?" So, I let the matter go. Nevertheless, since that time up to now, everything has been fine with them. It was only that moment over there that was bad, and it messed up my vacation. But even after that, I'd still recommend them because I've had the card since 2009 and it's a good card.

    This is the first time I have ever had issues with a direct deposit but am very unhappy. I have bills to pay and nothing is there. I have been told about 10 different stories as I started calling after 6pm. Others received their money but I have not. Terrible customer service and they lie. I really would like my money as I already know it's been sent out. I contacted my company and they told me it was.     In October of 2016 I loaded $100.00 into my NetSpend card to pay a phone bill. Next, I called my carrier to pay the bill and no funds! Card was locked, funds were locked! Called Customer Service and got the run around of reason after reason. Make a long story short, spent almost a dozen hours waiting on the phone and talking in circles with these people. Closed my card in frustration, however I never received my funds. NetSpend has held my funds more than six months, claiming "We will send it"," it has been sent" and "will send it again!" This is outright criminal and I cannot believe this is happening in our own country. Maybe it's time to pool together people with similar experiences and all file together on a class action suit?

    I signed up with NetSpend because they said whenever you get a deposit, it would be two to five days earlier compared to other consumers. However, I have to wait throughout the day to find out when I’ll have any type of money deposited. It could be anywhere from 11:00 to 3:00 or 4:00. There is no exact time as opposed to other cards where it’s any time after midnight, like 1:00 in the morning. It’d be better if we can find out what time of the day will we have our deposits loaded. Also, I had to call when I accidentally blocked my card. I thought it was my other card as they both are black and I was putting the wrong PIN number. They never notified me to tell me it was blocked, and I kept needing to use it. Nevertheless, my experience with NetSpend has been pretty good.

    I walked through a grocery store and found the NetSpend card laying on the back. It was the first one I saw and it was new to me, but I thank NetSpend for allowing me to manage everything better. It's incredible. First, it got me in the habit of getting online and checking my balance and paying what I could and then getting to put money on it. I've become a lot more conscientious of my credit card statements online and my credit score has increased. I got pretty good at handling funds first with NetSpend so I tackled a few credit cards. I just got an American Express and I'm able to handle that a lot better. I'm not making any more late payments. I now make 7-8 payments a month because I'm used to that NetSpend way and I'm reloading it all the time.

    I use NetSpend, pay bills and shop online all the time. I swipe it at any 711 and I'm good to go. I used to have my taxes put on NetSpend and I also get my disability checks every month two days early with them. I tried to use NetSpend to pay my Capital One bill but it said it couldn't use it. That was the downfall why I looked into and bought the RushCard. Still, I'm partial to NetSpend. I hope it's helpful for somebody else who's making their way into the credit card thing to get with NetSpend and get educated first because it's a great education tool.

    I have been trying to receive a payment I made on March 9th that never went through to my phone carrier. I made the same exact payment, paying my bill again on the 14th of March due to my phone services being shut off. I have contacted NetSpend customer care every day since the 9th. They will not give me my money back without locking my card. This is a huge inconvenience and very unfair. At this point NetSpend has basically stole this money from me. I have cut my losses with the money I paid for a bill that never went through. Customer care are the only way I have been able to get in contact with anyone regarding my account.     When NetSpend came out, they said I could get my check early as soon as they got it in. And I thought that that was a good idea because the banks are holding on to the money that the government sends out and they draw an interest on it. Then they wait until the 1st to give it to me. With NetSpend, I can pay everything over the phone. I don’t have cash on hand and I don't drive. But I can just call them up and give my card number. So, I don’t have to get rides any more. I also use their direct deposit option which is really convenient because I live out in the middle of the woods.

    It’s been a positive experience whenever I call because they're always helpful and always straighten everything out. I rely on just my phone and they text me every time I make a withdrawal or somebody uses my credit card. That makes it a lot easier. If there's anything on there that I don’t know about, I call them and find out. I also called them when my credit card was stolen and they helped me out.     I've been using PayPal for a number of years and they have a NetSpend debit card. I wanted a place to put my retirement funds so I went with NetSpend. I use it for managing finances and I keep totally separate for my social security. I can go in and check it anytime. I use it to pay bills and buy online and the process is convenient. I have it connected to my PayPal account so I always pay through PayPal when ordering and I can access the money. I also almost always use direct deposit which is very easy.     I received a NetSpend card as a gift and tried to use it. The store told me I couldn't use the card as it wasn't activated. So I tried activating it. I was on the phone for 45 minutes with 3 different customer representatives. One told me I didn't know the year it was purchased so I was out of luck. Two times I was disconnected right when I thought I was going to be able to have it activated. Called back later and that customer rep told me she was locked out of my account and could not send me to a supervisor. She then told me to go online so I did.

    I needed to know the answers to these security questions? I got as a gift and supposedly $40.00 on the card! In the middle of inputting some information, the site literally disappeared. How weird is that huh? Something doesn't seem right here. Obviously they want you to purchase their cards and then make it impossible for one to activate and use. Seems like a racket to me! Never had an experience like that... and if something doesn't make sense then someone is lying. Not happy!! A truly bizarre experience!

    My truck driver son told me about NetSpend. We were gonna send my nephew to New York for his graduation class and we thought we needed to make sure he had money. He didn’t have a bank account, so that’s what we bought him NetSpend for. He took it with him and had a good experience. He never ran out of money. We could send him money on that card, and that’s the first time I ever used one of those cards.

    I tried Green Dot a couple of years after that, and I didn’t like it because I didn’t have the connection with customer service like I do with NetSpend. Their reps are thorough and respectful, and that’s what I can count on when I call them or write in. They always respond right away in a very professional way. And no matter what it is, it’s gonna be a positive interaction from their side. My card was compromised and NetSpend was on my side without a question. There have been times when I was highly upset and I thought somebody swiped my card as I was missing $50. That was hard to explain and verify, but they didn’t push back on any of that. They did the research, put the money back in, and everything went well. You can’t expect anything more than that from a bank.

    With NetSpend, you’ve got the same protection as the brick and mortar bank. You’ve got great customer service and interaction. I like NetSpend better than brick and mortar banks which I don't do anymore. I don’t trust them. They charge a lot more to do banking with them, and they don’t offer as much flexibility. It’s almost like us versus them. They’re trying to make money, especially if you’re an individual and not a company. They make a lot of money off of companies and small people too.

    NetSpend has always worked for me and I can't ask for more. They go to bat for me and back me up like they back up their customers 100%. So if anything does happen, I know that my money is safe. I’ve been using them since 2004 and that’s because I’ve always had a good experience with them. And I really like that the direct deposit comes two days prior. I also have the overdraft protection and I really enjoy using that when I need it. I know I’m not gonna have to pay an arm and a leg for the occasional time when there’s an overdraft. And everywhere that I can use any bank card, I can use NetSpend cards. I have a MasterCard with PayPal, but I use that less simply because it’s not accepted as much.

    I have recommended NetSpend to many people, to relatives and friends. And the reason that I’ve told other people about NetSpend and encouraged the use of it is I can count on my direct deposit with whatever it is that I need to do. I took an early retirement so I still do direct deposit, and it all works the same. It’s reliable. The only downside is I can’t have a large amount of money on the card. Other than that, it’s a gem. It's perfect.

    NetSpend will not send a card after several attempts. They will not allow me to transfer the funds in my account to a prepaid card either. They have horrible customer service! Avoid them at all cost. I have been calling several times and each time they say something new about why I cannot access the money in my account. They were suppose to send a card 2 months ago! Still I have received NOTHING! I asked to speak to a supervisor and get nothing. This is very sad and I will continue to notify everyone to avoid this company because they do not care about their customers.

    I provide them with sensitive information and then that information just disappears and you wonder who has your social security number and birthday date. They can't provide info as to where it is. I have had so many positive experiences it took me a long time to realize they are crooks.     I was sent an offer by NetSpend that if I referred a brand new customer who activated the card and put $40 in the account, we'd both get $20. Well my friend did, deposited $500 and never had an account there before. Guess what? They won't pay it. Only other stipulation was they would be able to confirm his identity. Well if they could not do that they are in violation of the law by sending the card anyway. What if he's a terrorist!? NetSpend won't forget yet, it may be only $20 but it's the principle of them ripping people off. I'm not going to stop until they pay it or a big fine! LIARS!

    I have NetSpend/Ace Elite for over 10 years. I have loved it. Every dispute that I have ever had was taken care of quickly and to my satisfaction, even when I was not pleased and wanted something different to happened it was explained to be. The only reason why I am no longer exclusive and only bank with them was that I got a new job and they did not recognize them as a bank, and would not let me set up direct deposit. It was very disappointing. I still use them for my online actions because I trust them very much.

    I have been on and off the phone again for 4days trying to add my husband to my account so that we could get our taxes. Getting numerous emails to call them so we could resolve the issue. Many "supervisors" I talk to many workers I talk to ALL said different things. None making sense. I sent them everything they needed ID, social, proof of address. They kept saying "they didn't receive it. It wasn't approved." Then they said it was pending. One guy promised to have the hold lifted nothing. Four days later. Nothing still the same runaround. Thank God our check got sent back to the IRS so maybe now we can actually receive our money. NetSpend is the WORST company I have ever dealt with and would not recommend them to my worst enemy. They are horrible. Their customer service and so called supervisors are some of the dumbest people I have ever spoken to. If I was you DO NOT USE NETSPEND.

    I got NetSpend because my daughter and a niece had one and they are in different places and they've got a lot of options that I can get money to them without them having to go anywhere. It doesn't cost anything to have money from my card to theirs, and it's convenient with my daughter. Plus, I'm retired so I get paid once a month and I get that earlier. I've got some bills that come before the first of the month, and this allows me to be able to take care of them without being late.

    I also have the overdraft protection, and it is a great benefit. But some of the companies that I deal with that would accept a debit card charges some outrages prices. But most of the bills I've paid don't charge me anything when I use NetSpend. I downloaded about $4,000 on my card when I was in a casino. I was paying a lot of stuff real fast and they froze it out. I called and told them what's going on and they were real nice. They got it online, back on like it's supposed to be.

    I recommend the card to other people that ask me about preloaded cards. I'd tell them that it's convenient, and I don't have to carry cash in my pocket and I could have my check direct deposited. I'll also tell them that they will get other benefits. But every time I used it anywhere I've been charged $1. If I use it 10 ten times, that’s $10. Some people use it more times than that a month. So I would also tell them to pay the $5 they charge every month, and all transactions are basically free. This really can make their life convenient.

    As a departing gift from my previous employer, I was presented with a NetSpend Visa Debit Card. Here are the facts/history: Initially I was told by the person who purchased the card that I didn’t need to activate the card, just use it. However, when I tried to use the card at McDonald’s for $2.00, I told the purchase would not go through/did not work. So then I thought, maybe I need to activate the card. Using the online instruction on the packaging the card came in, I put in all my information (which I don’t think should be required, just to activate/use the card), and I received a message that my request to activate the card could not be processed and I need to call 1-866-387-7363 to speak with a customer representative.

    So then I call the 1-866# and put in the card number as request, then it asks for the last 4-digits of my SSN (again, I don’t think this should be a requirement just to activate/use the card), however I put in my last 4-digits, only to be told that the information doesn’t match your system. OF COURSE IT DOESN’T MATCH!! So I wait on the phone to be asked if I want to talk with a customer representative, but the recording keeps asking me to enter the last 4-digits of my SSN and then says “goodbye” and hangs up. IS THIS CUSTOMER SERVICE!! It is really poor customer service when you call a company and is not given the option to speak to a live person that can help you. Until this time, I’ve never heard of your company… now I see why!!!

    My employer was converting from paper checks to direct deposits and I needed a NetSpend account. Plus I didn’t like the fact that there were fees associated with banks, so I thought that NetSpend would be an economical way to go. I’m disabled now and I don't work anymore, and it's a nice benefit that I get my direct deposits sooner than the date that I’m supposed to. I’ve also had dealings with customer service several times and the experiences have been positive and top-notch.

    I recently made a purchase that I subsequently cancelled and that was in a really tight timeframe. I called the company that I purchased from and they said they've cancelled the order for me. Two days later, I’m getting an e-mail notification that they’re shipping my order. I called NetSpend and I said, “I need that $60 back. I called and I cancelled the order.” They were very agreeable to refunding my money and with the caveat that if the business pursued it further, that money could come back out again, and it did. I had money for what I needed to purchase at the time because they refunded it so quickly.

    When I needed a debit card for a direct deposit, I got Netspend and have been with them for years now. Aside from direct deposit, I also use their reload locations sometimes. Since using the card, I can get my paycheck two days early. The only thing is that I’m having problems with logging in my account. It keeps saying that I’ve got an invalid password or username. So I got to call Netspend and get a temporary password in order to log in to my account. They gave me a password, but I shouldn’t have to keep calling them just to get a temporary password. Other than that, everything else has been alright.

I called to just get it connected to the account I was using and I understand why they couldn't. They said they would send new card for account that was expired.     I've been a NetSpend customer for five years now and I like the service up until recently. I'm spending a lot of money by getting double charged and I'm not happy with it. When I check my account, I get charged for a dollar and when I go to an ATM, not only will it charge me but another $2.50 is going to come out as well. So I'm basically spending almost $6 or $7 getting money off of my account which is crazy. I wish customers only get charged once. It's gotten to the point where I don't want to call and I don't want to go online. I use their direct deposit and anytime I had to speak to anybody, they've been nice in explaining things to me and I understand what they're saying. However, with the recent changes, it's costing me more. Other than that, I'm very satisfied.

    I like the direct deposit and have the overdraft protection on my NetSpend. I like being able to pay my bills with it and information is secured. I had an incident where I had misplaced my card but I might have dropped it and it just got destroyed. It was a while after I had reported that in, where I had a new card sent to me. And then I went out of town and they blocked my card. I had to call them and they said that was the reason why. Which was understandable, but I needed my money. They took the block right off when I spoke with them on the phone. They're very helpful and quick to respond and try to help me as much as they could. NetSpend works out for me and I've been with them ever since.

    Never, and I mean NEVER use a card from this company!!! Literally every time you use it they charge you $2.00!!! If you buy a $2.00 drink, you just spent $4.00. I recently put $250 on a card not knowing this fact and every bit of $50 of that money went to their pockets. Now I'm broke and realizing they basically stole. This company is complete **. They hide this fee so that you don't know what you are signing up for. ** these people and this company. RUN before these greedy, pieces of **, rat bastards STEAL your money too. Go to hell NetSpend.     I’ve been with Netspend for 10 years and I haven’t had any desire to do other banking since then. Also, signing up with Netspend was easier compared to the others. I just went online and they sent me a card. They're more reputable too. I was once double charged for something and I messaged Netspend through the site and they got back to me within one hour, told me that once the charge went through, the other one would drop off. So when there’s pending charges, just like with the bank, the money is not available. But it got resolved quickly.

    Since using the card, I can overdraft and there is 1% or 2% return. There’s a $5 monthly fee and my direct deposits go in earlier than expected. So if there’s a problem I would know about that beforehand. Plus I get free alerts. Also, one can get coupons or cash back rewards through some other partners if they frequent certain stores or buy certain products. One can also get money for referring people and one can do all their business online or by calling in.

    I got NetSpend mainly because of the early pay and I've been a customer for 12 years. I enjoy its feature for not going overdraft. Reload locations tend to be around now, but I use only one location, which is the H-E-B. The only run in I had with NetSpend that I haven't been quite fond about is that I requested about three weeks ago for a copy of my bank statements for the last three months to be emailed to me. They charged me twice for it, but I never received the email. And still, to this day, I haven't received the email, which cost me a deadline on what I was supposed to turn it in for and cost me what I was trying to do. It was a runaround after runaround. Even so, I'm very satisfied with NetSpend and I wouldn't change anything.
