I have been a user for over a year and Has been satisfied with the company. Being A Card Holder of this Card Is A Safe and secured way for my everyday life. I use this card for all my deposits and work related matters. It is Very Convenient And Very secured.

The only issue that I have is that you have to many fees. I mean $35.00 twice, and why does it show in different places that I was charged two times? I got this card to help me save my money not lose it. Thank you.

Very satisfied, love the card very handy. Nothing to complain about. Do wish the card had a chip instead of just the magnetic strip. I like the cash back after 12 months as well comes in handy. Happy happy customer.

Green Dot has been a great company to deal with. The very few issues I have had have been easy and quick to fix. Direct deposit has worked seamlessly. Everywhere I go I use this card and have had no problems. All said this is a great company.

Enjoy this card and ease of use. Wish there was an option to use it when I leave the country and I also wish I could order a new card from the app, like with some other prepaid cards online. The customer service experience has been very lackluster and so I may look to move over all deposits to another card.

Everything else on card is great but the Worst thing about the card you can't pull money out anywhere free of charge. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me so have to pay card fee an ATM fee. Can't wait to get a real bank.

I feel like there should be some type of rewards for staying with the program for so long. I believe I have had my card for three or four years now and I still have to pay the same amount to load it and wait a year for any type of refund of the membership fees through cash back. There should be some type of loyalty program.

While I am not a fan of many of the fees that is something I think all banks have some issues with so I won't take off points for that. In the long run the early paycheck feature trumps just about any feature other banks offer so when it comes to direct deposit I intend to always use my Green Dot card. I recommend it to friends and family for that reason also. Keep up the great work, maybe try to eliminate some fees but otherwise keep up the great work!

I love the feature where you earn so much money back over the 12 months period. I was wonder instead of $100 could you increase it to maybe $150 or $200? I think the rest of the customers would like that as well. But overall I'm happy.

I recently contacted your office for an address change. You all said I need to submit a utility bill with my name in order to change my address. I currently am staying with a family member and that's not possible to have a utility in my name. This is my account and I should be able to change my address without this unnecessary request. So easy and I can use this card anywhere. Never had a issues with my card. Money is always unloaded on my card on time. I have the app on my phone so I can check to see if my money was uploaded on the card. And I can also check the balance as well.

I’ve used Green Dot for 3 years and I’ve lived it. No issues and I get all my direct deposits early. Great service. The atm fees are high but other than that I really love using green dot. Get us atms.

I’m very happy using Green Dot Bank. I have nothing negative to say. My only complaint is when I have to get a credit back, it takes a little long to go back to my account. I’m still waiting for my $100 cash back. It’s my 3rd year and I should’ve gotten it already.

I've had good experience with Green Dot. Never a problem, just wish you reported to credit bureau. I've been a customer since 2012. My deposit has always been on time which is important when you're on a fixed income and it matters.

I like my card and the fact that when I direct deposit my money is there at least the day before pay day. I wish the fees were less to add money at a retailer. Other than that I can use my card just about everywhere and pay bills with no problem.

I used to get paid every Tuesday like clockwork at 11 am. This was the whole reason I choose to get your card to get paid early. Then out of nowehere it changed to that I don't get it until 4pm on Wednesdays. My boyfriend has the card and he stopped getting early deposit all together.

I don't think it should cost to load your card or take money out of the atm, I have an Amex serve card and it doesn't cost me anything to load money on it or have any atm charges for withdrawing money.

I love my Green Dot account! It's fast and easy. The app makes it so nice to check balances and stash money. The stash feature is a favorite of mine and the fact that my check is deposited 4 days before my coworkers because I use green dot. I just love it.

I purchased my Green Dot card last June 2018. I loved it, never had any problems with it until today. This past Sunday I loaded $2700 onto the card in multiple transactions because of a $500 limit at the store to purchase a vacation package at Costco.com. The transaction for my vacation went through and everything was fine. I wake up this morning to an email saying my card has been suspended due to suspicious activity, to call the number on the back of my card to be able to access my funds again.
I thought I would just have to verify my identity with my information and everything would go back to normal. I was not ever able to reach a person, I was helped through an automated system that told me that I would not have access to my funds but I would never be able to have a Green Dot card again with no explanation for why that is. I’m super dissatisfied with this. I never missed a monthly payment. I just received hundred dollars cashback reward for keeping my account in good standing for a year. This blindsided me and I’m very disappointed to be penalized for putting money on my own card.

My grandson bought a prepaid Visa Green Dot that Load & Go card from local Walgreens, came home and tried to make a purchase and was declined. For three days now I've been calling all the numbers I can find and each time I fill out the registration a Messages returned, "Having technical difficulties at this time. Try again." If I could speak to a customer care service that would be great instead of the machine that hangs up. If anyone has a number to a live agent Please give it to me!! He Lost his whole first week of work cash $200???

Purchase a Green Dot card last year and have had no issues until I got back from a 2-month vacation. Try to send a Western Union online using my Green Dot card and kept getting declined. I tried call Green Dot to resolve the problem and was told to try again in an hour. Try it again the same results. Call back customer support at Green Dot. Told I would have to get money out of the ATM and find a Western Union and send the money manually. I was charged extra for using an ATM and I wasted a lot of valuable time. This card supposed to be used as a convenience tool and it has been anything but.... My time is valuable as is my money....

I received a Prepaid Mastercard for the amount of $50, as a birthday gift for my daughter a couple years ago. I went ahead and activate the card, never used the card. Tried to use the card recently and found out that there is a negative balance of $15.94. I called customer service to inquire about my Green Dot card (very rude customer service). I was told that I owed Green Dot $15.94 and I need to pay it now, I was very surprise. I asked to close my account ASAP, keep the $50 that they STOLE from me and reverse the $15.94 extra monthly charges that they applied to my account. I was told he can only credit me 1 monthly charge and if I don't pay the balance, they will put it against my credit score.
I think this is a scam to rob people of their hard earn money, what if I did not try to use the card? They would keep charging me every month without my knowledge. Green Dot is a "BIG SCAM"!!!! How can you charge a monthly fee on something that was never, ever used?? There should be a CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST GREEN DOT PREPAID CARD!!! Their policy is crooked and horrible. I have called Green Dot numerous times today and have gotten nowhere!!!! My direct deposit was sent out on Wednesday and I was supposed to receive it today and have yet to get it!!!! I am so beyond frustrated and feeling so hopeless about this situation. I loaded my card over a month ago to pay bills more than two thousand dollars and the account was soon after closed by Green Dot. No call. No reason given--nothing and I’ve yet to receive our money back. I call everyday and everyday they promise me someone will call me from corporate to transfer the funds to another one of my active cards or send me a check or something anything at this point just to get my money back and nobody ever calls. It’s been more than a month!!
Every time I call I explain to them that since the card is closed we can’t change the phone number listed on the account and that has not been our phone number in quite some time. Each time we are met daily with same response on, “Give me your number. I’ll put it in the notes and they will call you within two days.” It never happens and still our money has not been returned and this to me is a lot of money. Please help me.

I purchased 2 Green Dot prepaid cards yesterday and placed $100 on one card and $500 on the other, and when I try to activate the cards it is telling me that they are experiencing technical difficulty and cannot complete the activation process. What makes matters far worse is the fact that there is no human that will pick up the phone and assist you with this issue. If you visit their website, you will find no reliable means of contacting them and receiving immediate assistance, just a bunch of useless automated phone numbers. I have already reached out to my lawyer and the Department of Justice to proceed with some legal action against this highly irresponsible company. What they have done, thus far, is pretty much theft of the money that I have loaded in the card and now have no access to.

I’m on my 10th month with Green Dot and I earned the $100 cash-back reward at the end of the year already. I’ve also been able to do all my online banking and paying all of my bills online through it. The only complaint I have would be the ATM fee. There is no ATM where I can go and there’s no fee so I have to do their fee plus my fee. Other than that, Green Dot has been great so far. I have no complaints and I get paid a day before payday.

I have used this Walmart card for 3 or 4 years. The worst bank ever. Every 6 months someone steals my card and Green Dot NEVER flags it as suspicious activity. I happen to catch it and cancel my card and I have to get another card and be without money for 3 weeks because they are so slow. They don't care about security. If I could give them a -10 I would. I purchased a Green Dot prepaid card from 7-11 and added money to it. I tried to activate it 3 times because I wasn't receiving the verification code. I got the problem fixed through my cell company to receive the verification text. Now when I try to activate it, I keep getting a message that says I've attempted too times. I've tried for the past 3 days and keep getting the same message. I've repeatedly tried to call the 866 number provided on the card but can't get through to a live person and the automated system keeps hanging up on me. I need to get access to the money I put on the card. Please do not get this card. I've read many reviews from people with the same problem. There's no way to get help from this scam of a company.

I tried to activate my Green Dot card through the app and asked them to send me the verification code to my number. But the text wouldn’t go through so I tried three or four times. And now when I try to activate it it tells me to try again later and won’t let me get anywhere and now I can’t touch my money. And I can’t reach a customer service person. I’m really frustrated. And it’s been two days and it keeps saying try again later. Can you please contact me.

This is not a good company at all!! Do not even try anything with them. You will get scammed out of your money. They are rude on the phone and they will not help you at all. Please do not get a Green Dot card ever. I have called them 5 times today and still on the phone with them and I am not getting anywhere with them. It says to upload my ID and it will not accept it so they will not send me my actual card and will not give me my $200 on my card and they took the $9.95 monthly fee already. They need to get shut down completely.

I began using the Prepaid Visa card from Green dot with little to no hassle, or at least nothing Customer Service couldn't help with. Now that my cash back balance has been reached coincidentally Green Dot closed my card without notice. I was alerted when my card became "blocked" once I called in and verified it was me, I was put into an automated menu that explained simply there was abnormal activity and they reactivated the card for me to withdraw or use the balance left but no further load to the card could be made and all future business with Greed Dot was closed also. I called in to speak with a customer service representative to ask why this decision was made or better yet, what abnormal activity had been made so I could protect myself and because the system recognized my card number it continually sent me to a message that said the card was closed and it would never allow me to speak to anyone.
This is disappointing that they do business this way and will not provide information to customers. This is poor business and customers pay the price. All I wanted was an explanation. I thought it was a good experience until then. I don't answer unrecognizable numbers and there was never a voicemail left for me so if they tried to contact me, they did not try very hard. Now I am trying to pay an online bill and Green Dot will not even release the balance and it the site keeps racking up NSF fees because they are not holding up their end.

I picked up a Green Dot card at a CVS. I bought it for my 8-year-old as a way for him to get used to using a credit card but without risk of him spending more money than he has. We purchased a card with a $40 balance. The card may only be purchased in cash. So, we paid $41.95 in cash. However, the card is not usable until it is registered, which requires you to provide Green Dot with your SSN, cell phone number, date of birth, email address, and physical address. The first time you use the card, you will be charged a monthly fee of $7.95. So, all told, we paid $50 for $40 and handed over a fair amount of personal information that Green Dot acknowledges that it will sell to both its affiliates and non-affiliates for marketing purposes. This information is only accessible once the card is purchased in cash and the package is opened. There are no refunds.
To close the account, you call the customer service number, which is listed on the back of the card. You do have to find your way through a maze of number selections to reach a person but you can eventually reach a customer service representative. Initially, I had difficulty convincing the representative to close the account because there was $2.15 left on the card.
I asked for emailed confirmation that the account is closed. I was told that they do not do this but I can call back and be told again that the account is closed. I asked if a manager was available. I was told that I could call back later but if I want to speak to a manager, I have to keep the account open. I asked if the conversation was recorded. I was told it was but I could not have a copy of the recording. After getting off the phone, I logged into the online account. Nothing on the account page indicated that the account was closed. The FAQs state that the account cannot be closed unless the balance is $0.

Updated on 07/09/2019: Today, I logged into the app and the transaction for $345.62 is nowhere to be found so I thought maybe it’s in the process of being returned. I called into customer service and (not the number on the back of the card) but another number and the representative yelled at me and laughed at me when I told him what was going on. I asked him where the money was & why it just disappeared and you guys he seriously cackled so loud. For him to laugh in my face like that is almost just as bad as this situation I’m in. He then hung up in my face while I was mid sentence. I called again and spoke with someone else who said the money would be returned so I am just waiting. I’ll update you guys.
Original review: Okay I’ve always heard about this card so I finally purchased one. I grew so tired of banks & honestly getting paid 2 days sooner was very appealing to me. I went to Walgreens and loaded $450 to the card no problem. I ordered some phones from AT&T & ended up cancelling the order. I have all of my paperwork from AT&T that the order has been cancelled & I called into Green Dot customer to get my $345.62 returned to me & was told I’d have to wait 11 days. 11 days?! That’s ridiculous! & then on top of that, the customer service team is rude & unwilling to help. Getting this card was the biggest mistake of my life. I have a massive social media following & I try not to use my blog for just anything but I think this month’s blog post will be dedicated to letting all of my followers how big of a mistake this card is.

I bought the card at Walmart and also paid 160.00 dollars to load onto it as well as another card with 500.00 to load onto it. My 500.00 came available on my card but the second card for my husband did not. So now I'm out of 160.00 dollars that was needed in an emergency situation. I have my receipt proving the purchase but I don't have my money on my temporary card for my husband. Please help!

I just purchase a Green Dot card to make a payment for my phone service and it is telling me it is unable to activate my card. I have been trying to call the customer service number and is unable to speak to anyone. I am so frustrated with Green Dot.

I purchased a Moneypak card to load funds on to a card of mine. I have two that are eligible according to the site. It has now been almost 3 hours since I purchased the card and instead of getting the wait 20-30 minutes error, I am getting "We’re sorry for the inconvenience but we’re unable to process your request at this time. Please try again later." I try calling the support number, put in the numbers it asks, and it says my birth date is invalid(????). There is absolutely no help, no actual person to contact, and now I am out over $200, and severely unhappy. Unless I feel like waiting 1-2 weeks to see if I can get a refund. Will not be using this service ever again or recommending it to anyone.

I bought a prepaid Green Dot card and loaded $50 on it. I was told to either download the app or go to the website to register my card. I did both.. I never received a verification code thru my text to complete my process with my card. I have tried so many time now it’s saying I have reach the maximum tries, told me to try again later. I can’t get in contact with a live person, that I’m so upset about this. I put that money on that card because I was trying to order a birthday gift. I don’t have money to just throw away. Green Dot is not a good choice when buying prepaid cards. Please take my advice. Since I woke up I still been trying to register my card. Still unsuccessful.. Don’t get a Green Dot prepaid card.

Does anybody know how to file a lawsuit on this so called company!??? I purchased a Green Dot card so I could receive direct deposits each week from my work. I used my temporary card account info at first, and that was fine. When I registered online to receive a personalized card it was suppose to arrive in the mail 7-10 business days! After it had been over 2 weeks I called them because I still hadn't received it and wanted to find out what the problem was..?? They told me it should arrive any day. After a month had gone by I called again and was told the same thing, instead this time the idiot representative took it upon herself to issue me a new card, which makes both my temporary card and the card that should be arriving "any day" useless!!!! So now all of MY money isn't accessible!!!! What a SCAM!!!! Do not use Green Dot!!!!

I haven’t been able to activate my card that I purchased at Rite Aid with cash. I tried via the app and didn’t receive a text message..then there appeared a message telling me I sent to many requests so could not receive texts. I tried calling but was only able to reach an automated service telling me either my card number was invalid or to use the online process. This has been going on for two days. I’m wondering if this card is real or maybe a scam to just take my hard earned dollars.

We have only had this card for two weeks. Put $300 cash deposit no problem. Once a direct deposit from PAYROLL hit the account for $700, they immediately locked it. When we first called they said we needed to give them drivers license and deposit slip to unlock account. When asked why, they first told us they COULD NOT tell us why. Called again, they said name didn’t match, when we called them out on the lie, they admitted it was “standard procedure” to lock account. No one spoke good English and we have NEVER had a account locked because of a deposit. Apparently you aren’t allowed to talk to supervisors either. We will be reporting to fraud department and also opening a lawsuit if they do not release our money they are fraudulently holding. GET A LAWYER people!!

I deposited money Sunday for $300. Still do not have my money in my account. I had to call CS who then tells me, “Yeah I can take care of it from here.” I give him all the numbers from the receipt and then tells me, “Now I need you to email a copy of the receipt to ** Reference # **.” I call again Monday. CS says, “Oh your case is closed. Money will be in your account 5:30 pm". I check. Guess what - not there. So I call again today. Now they tell me, “Oh the receipt you sent me they can't see it.” I'm looking at the receipt with my kids and wife. Everybody can see the numbers. I also go to the Walgreens where I deposited and they also gave me a receipt that the transaction went thru with everything to show it went through.
This how they treat customers. They lie to you through CS, not a damn email saying, “Hey we’re trying to get this resolved.” Nothing. You have to call. They lie first then they say, “Oh we can't see the receipt.” When it’s in daylight and you can see everything on the card. I’ve already contacted my attorney. I will continue to write negative reviews until I get my deposit that was needed for my kid in College Summer school. It’s a disgrace and they call this easy to deposit and the customer service is atrocious. Please anybody that's reading this do not ever buy from Green Dot ever. They do not care about customers and they will not get back to you. Nobody should have to go through this ever.

I purchased a Green Dot prepaid visa from Safeway and put $250 on it for a father's day gift. After my father called the number on the card and registered it he was unable to use it to purchase anything so we called the customer service number. After entering the appropriate information into their automated service it said that it had not been registered yet and was only capable of making impersonal transactions, which is pretty much no transactions at all. So I went to their website and created an account for him and registered the card to that account. This unrestricted the card and we thought everything was good.
After 13 days he attempted to use the $250 to pay for part of a home depot purchase but the card was declined. So we attempted to use the Green Dot phone app to see what was going but when attempting to login on the app it gives an error message stating "You need to log into GreenDot.com to access your account." So the phone app is completely useless! So I logged onto his account at GreenDot.com only to find out that there was only $240.05 on the account and we had been charged a $7.95 monthly maintenance fee. MONTHLY MAINTENANCE FEE OF $8 AFTER 13 DAYS! This is by far the worst prepaid card I have ever dealt with. Their customer service is a completely automated service and there is absolutely no way to speak to an actual person!

I have a hold on my card for my direct deposit which is the second one for the same amount. After calling four times I was told I needed to send additional documents of which I did and was told it would be 48 hours before I can access my money. This is absurd and I’m beyond upset and dissatisfied.

Do not use Green Dot. They stole my entire tax return and blocked my card asking for verification that I am who I say I am and I provided the information and now they are telling it will remain blocked until I give them a physical check stub from IRS when it was direct deposited. They are frauds and crooked. They will steal your money and now I'm losing everything because they stole 5083 from me. I've reported to BBB as well.

I can't activate the card. It seems the problem is I cannot register my address because it is in Puerto Rico and that is not presented as an option when entering the state. This despite the fact that it is being offered in Puerto Rico and is part of your contract's definition as to what constitutes the US. Help!!

To begin, I had few issues with using Green Dot. I know you will not receive the most impeccable service as you would with a bank, but at least they were providing what I needed - a debit card, direct deposit and the ability to deposit checks mobile. I deposited my first check in Feb-March 2019 with no problem. In June, I received a money order and attempted to deposit it with no avail. Prior to depositing, I made sure that money orders were able to be deposited and they were.
After a day and a half of failed mobile deposit attempts and several error msgs, I contacted customer service. The first rep told me to send pictures of the front and back of the check along with the error msg to an email and advised I go somewhere to cash it. After realizing I wrote "for mobile deposit only" on the back of the check I called back concerned, hoping that someone would care enough to review my email or at least have enough expertise to tell me how to get around having "for mobile deposit only" on the back - none of that happened. I was rushed off the phone after the rep suggested I try to cash it or have the issuer issue me a new check.
For this horrible customer service experience I will be closing my account once this check manner is resolved. It would not have taken any extra effort to pull up the email and rectify the issue. I'm sure it was a system error and if they would've saw the picture of the check it would've been accepted and deposited. The mobile deposit camera does not flash or zoom in for larger checks so maybe that was the issue. Who knows. I'm very disappointed and will be taking my business to a local bank so I won't have to deal with these prepaid card hustlers.

Purchased MoneyPak to almost pay scam electric invoice. While verified in time before I sent it, I still cannot get my money out of MoneyPak. They don't tell you in advance that you need to supply your social security number and download a photo ID. Once you do, to attempt sending money out of system, I "failed" to correctly identify the reCaptcha icons even though the screen did not show up until the 7th attempt. Still trying to deposit held funds to debit card but screen again freezes when I press "deposit to card". Tried on both PC and MAC. Call center is press 1 for this, press 2 for that... no human intervention or assistance. I now have a very expensive piece of cardboard that I can't access. Do NOT ever use this company.

We’ve been Green Dot card holders for almost 10 years! This past month someone withdrew $1000 from our card and when I followed the directions and sent it in (because they said the email didn’t work) I was denied! I was so upset! When I called in I was told I had to prove that I wasn’t in the state the transaction was made! Now I had to print everything and highlight charges we actually made in Las Vegas on the same day and my time card to PROVE I was in state! The customer service rep was zero help with giving me ideas on what to provide! There has to be an easier way! I have never had a problem with these guys until now! So we canceled our card. Got new ones but I took our direct deposit off of it because if this is the service I get from fraud no thank you! So disappointed! I am now sending in the supposed PROOF but I’m not feeling hopeful!

Called 4 different phone numbers and unable to reach anyone to assist with activation or told to log in. So frustrating! Bought the card and tried to register it. Completed the form multiple times and it stated I needed to submit a "valid phone number". After 3 tries, it stated that I have made too many attempts. "Try again later". It is now 3 days later, and it still gives me the same message of "try again later". I tried to contact them at their customer service phone number, and an automated response told me to go to their website and register the card. Then it hangs up. NO HELP AT ALL. This is obviously a scam that will not allow me to access MY MONEY! And now they reply "Feel free to contact us if you have any additional questions or concerns that you would like to discuss." GIVE ME A CONTACT NUMBER SO THAT I CAN SPEAK TO SOMEONE! (866) 795-7597 does not help. I need to speak to someone. You are holding my money hostage!

I purchased the GreenDot prepaid card for overseas transactions. It seemed like a good idea as even if it is compromised, you can only lose the amount on that card instead of your bank account. On the back of the Green Dot card, you will see the list of services. It lists Foreign Transactions and lists a fee of 3% of transaction. That is ok, and I accepted and loaded $200.00 onto the card for use. But... when I went to use the card for a specific purchase, it was refused. I called Green Dot customer care and was told that they will not handle foreign transactions due to fraud.
I read the Green Dot policies and it does state that "if you are dissatisfied with their service you may request a check for your balance be sent to your mailing address and the card will be canceled. I requested the check and a cancellation of the card 3 times, both through email and phone conversation. Green Dot has refused to mail me a check on all three occasions and has informed me that Ï will have to "spend down" the balance and then request a cancellation. This will cost me extra fees for each transaction and a cancellation fee. I would not recommend Green Dot to anyone.

Not happy with this card at all! I just purchased the card last night to send my daughter funds (this was an extreme emergency) only to wake up and find that a $7.95 monthly service fee has been deducted and I've had the card less than 24 hours. Not to mention there was a fee included in the initial purchase. Green Dot you need to make people aware when they purchase the card instead of blindsiding them with high fees as soon as they swipe the card. I will no longer use Green Dot nor will I recommend to friends and family!

My issue was handled very well and I appreciate how communicative and responsive your company was when my issue was brought to your attention. I recieved a refund check today for the full amount in question and I am very satisfied. I do however hope that whatever was causing the error within the moneypak loading process on your end was able to be examined and resolved so that it does not happen again to myself or someone else in the future. I would also like to recommend that your company make live customer service and assistance available to customers. I understand that your website and phone offer many automated customer service options but as a customer who has encountered a problem it would have been so much more reassuring to have had a live person to speak with directly when encountering the issue I had. I bought a MoneyPak this morning to load onto my Chime card from my local Kroger. Generally I choose to go straight to the cashier instead of spending the extra $6 to load money but this morning I needed to take an Uber to pick up my car keys that were left at a friend's house and customer service wasn't open. My first attempt at loading it told me I had to wait 20-30 minutes after purchase, that's understandable. I wait the allotted time and after I try again and I get an error message telling me to please complete the missing values. After retrying 200+ times I'm completely fed up and about to crush my phone with one hand.
What's even more annoying is that customer service doesn't exist. I can't speak with a live person for help. I've been extremely pleased with Green Dot products until today. Now I'm not only out the $50 I spent to load my card but I had to miss a day of work because I can't Uber due to the fact that I can't load money into my card. It's absolutely ludicrous to me that you guys don't have customer service reps live and ready to help. I submitted a complaint on the Green Dot website so who knows how long that will take. I really hope I'm able to recover my lost money.

I bought my Green Dot card and loaded it hoping to buy something online with it. It’s been almost a week and every day I try to use it and it says it’s invalid. I’ve tried on many websites all different ways and each time it keeps saying the card is invalid. So I called the “customer care line” and it gets me literally NOWHERE! I put my card number in and it takes it, then my social and says that’s invalid! Then I try again and it says my card number is invalid? How when it just took it?? I feel like I was just robbed of my money!!! Taking out the monthly charges when I can’t even access my OWN MONEY! I CHOSE to use this company and now I REGRET my decision!!! What type of a company doesn’t have a real human to work issues out with?? This has been by far the most unhelpful and worst designed customer experience EVER! I want to have access to my OWN money that I WORKED for!

I purchased a Green Dot reloadable prepaid card for my husband to use to make online purchases. I thought it would be safer than using the card linked to our banking account. When my husband went online to register the card, he received an error message that said they were unable to verify his identity even though he provided his social security number as well as the other information that was requested. He is now being told he cannot use the card to make any purchases other than face to face. He cannot receive cash back either. I am so confused by this. That is our money, yet we cannot use it as intended. Additionally, we were charged a service fee for a service we purchased but cannot use. All we want is our money back! Unfortunately, it looks like I will have to ask our state attorney general for help. To avoid this hassle, do not use Green Dot!

I feel like the transaction fees are a little to much at $3.00 each time I put in over 2,000 dollars a month and a good chunk gos to fees, I really like having my Green Dot card but it's taking a toll on the pocket so maybe if you could do like a one time fee for qualifying card holders that would be awesome. My kid bought a card for herself. She thought it was like a debit card. When she came home I read the instructions of the card. After the $1.95 purchased price they have the instruction on the card you have to pay $9.95 per month. No this is unacceptable. They should put this in front of the card for people to read. I have called 10 times trying to cancel this and to get my money back with no luck! There is no customer service rep available. I have not register the card yet because they ask you for your social number. Why is this? I also send a messenger thru Facebook with no luck. I want my money back please.

I am having a hard time reaching anybody in customer service with MoneyPak. Last Saturday June 15th I purchased a MoneyPak card. Waited 20 minutes to load and kept getting a deposit failed message. So then I did the email customer service and also called. I was told that there was a technical problem with my account and I should be getting a refund. Since then I have emailed and tried calling with no results. I’m still waiting for my refund. It was $140. I already live paycheck to paycheck and this hurts.

I bought a card at Walmart and put money on it and had no problems. So I decided to have my SSD payments direct deposited. I verified my identity and where the money was deposited from but they still froze my account and are trying to hold the money. After a week and a half of back and forth with their incompetent, unhelpful and just down right lying (even the supervisor was an unhelpful jerk) customer service reps they are trying to keep my money. Problem is I notified social security so they can investigate it because according to SSI it's illegal to hold money that came from the US Treasury after I gave you all my documents. The money should have been sent back to the US Treasury to be reissued to me.
One way or another the government is going to take their money back from this so called bank that's been stealing peoples money since at least 2012. I should have done my research on Green Dot first but in the end y'all get to deal with the government cause you aint keeping my money. Also I have all the emails of documents saved and calls I put in as proof.

My card was stolen and I had reported it to Green Dot via phone and via snailmail as instructed. I was issued a new card and my stolen card was closed. However there was a $459 charged on my account to T-Mobile that I did not authorized so I disputed the charges. I don’t have a T-Mobile account BTW. After 7 days of “investigation” my claim was denied. I was never contacted by anyone from the company to get more information. All they did was send me a denial letter stating that after a full investigation they determined that this was an authorized charged and they will not be refunding the charges.
If any real investigation was done they would know that I do not have a T-Mobile account and have never made any payments to them. If they investigated they would see that the payments was to a phone service that does not belong to me. Apparently this is an ongoing problem with this company and I will be closing my account. I don’t feel safe or trust this institution.

Original Review: DO NOT buy Green Dot prepaid cards... I purchased a card at CVS and when I tried to register it, it stated it was an invalid card. I had already added money on the card. I called their "customer service", automated system, couldn't get thru, I researched for a number to speak to a LIVE person and could not find one. I reported them to The Better Business Bureau and I also called CVS Corp office to report it. Do NOT purchase Green Dot prepaid or any Green Dot cards... They are a SCAM!!!!

I purchased a Green Dot card today at 9:14am EST. The only was to register the card is through the Green Dot app OR Online which then states that you have to register through the app. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN STATED ON THE PACKAGE, but I consider this fraud on GREEN DOT end. I have REPEATEDLY tried to register with the app. During the registration process, Green Dot is supposed to send a verification code to your mobile number. I NEVER RECEIVED THE CODE and have validated with my mobile phone carrier that I am receiving messages.
NOW I HAVE EXCEEDED the number of attempts and receive the following message: "You have exceeded the maximum number of attempts. Please try again later". I have called SEVEN times to the customer care number and they keep sending me to the automatic system to register the card; WHICH ONLY SAYS TO USE THE APP after I enter the 16 digit card number and my personal info. I AM REQUESTING A FULL REFUND of the $283 that I deposited on the card when I purchased it. I WILL BE CONTACTING AN ATTORNEY AND FILING A LAWSUIT IMMEDIATELY.

I need to download and print account information, BUT, I keep getting this "internal problem" message, and further access has been denied! My Federal Housing Assistance is in "jeopardy" if I cannot access, download, and print the information to the Housing Authority offices within several working days.

I had a different bank and I couldn’t use it. I got a Green Dot and it helped me because I could put money on there whenever I want to. I’ve only really found one reload company, but it’s in multiple locations. I just need it to be more accessible.

I called in due to charges to my account that were not made online for about 2 months for the same product. I was advised in order to send another card to my new address I had to send a utility bill and my drivers license. I sent the documents every day for an entire week as they advised they would never receive them. Finally got a rep after a week and him seeing my call ins for the same thing for an entire week, to change it via phone. He transferred me to another department to have another card ordered so I asked if I could still transfer from bank to bank or my Uber account as it’s through Green Dot as well and was told yes.
I tried to transfer the funds today as I’m going on a family vacation tomorrow and now being being advised that I can’t until I receive my new card in 7 days? Very unacceptable as I had funds in the account that were just deposited and another scheduled for tomorrow that I will have no access to for vacation. They act as if it wasn’t their issue. Then they denied my claim for the charges that had been coming out of my account for a product that I never ordered. After 11 years with them once my card comes I’m taking all the money off and canceling all direct deposits as we speak.

I absolutely love this card and I love how the fees that are charged are reasonable. I would love to see however some more cash back opportunities in the future. I would recommend this card to anyone. So far it has been a very positive experience and trust me I don't have a great history with credit cards.

Yesterday I went to have dinner with some friends after a long shift at work and I checked my balance to my Green Dot card. Seen that 76.99 was taken from my card but I hadn't left work all day. Then I seen it was from a store in Illinois! I live in Colorado! When I talk to your representative they said they couldn't file a dispute till the 2nd but that still leaves me broke and hungry and no way to get to work. What upsets me more is I get paid on the 25th and no way to get that money either because I had to cancel my card. It feels hopeless and upsetting that there is no protection against these kinda actions. To feel safe. I have been using your card for some time now and love it till today.

I purchased a Walmart prepaid card for direct deposit. I cashed my paper check and loaded it on the card and used my temporary card just fine. I gave my employer the information so I could receive my next check via direct deposit. Meanwhile my personalized card handy come in the mail yet so I called customer service and was told my card had been returned to them and I had to wait 1 week to receive a new card. I asked if in the meantime could I still use my temporary card when my direct deposit came on and they told me yes. Then They advertise getting my check 2 days early so I decided to check my mobile app to see if my funds were loaded and I couldn't log in and a pop up saying my account was blocked and under review.
So I went online and logged in through there and saw that my money was on my account, I saw nothing else saying my account was blocked so I went to buy my baby’s diapers. My card was declined. I called customer service again. That’s when I was told I could not use my temporary card because my new one was on the way then was told I needed to email in a copy of both sides of my valid ID and my pay stub! I didn’t understand why so I asked if there was a security issue or did I do something wrong. They wouldn't give me an answer. Just told me that even when my new card arrives I still have to email my proofs so the block would come off.
If I hadn't logged into my online account and seen my pay check on my card and used it, being declined and at the store, getting frustrated and calling customer service I would have never known there was a block on my funds. I emailed what they asked and was told it would take 2 days to review and the block would be lifted. I’m a single mom of 2 young kids! I chose this card for its convenience but so far I can't use my hard earned money! I work for a well known company. I don’t understand why Green Dot needs to make sure it’s not a fraudulent direct deposit. I just pray it only takes 2 days. Once I access my money I’m cancelling this card.

Is there anything you don't have to pay with this card? *Would love it if it had a chip. *How about a color other than white.? It's hard to read my numbers now.

At first I was skeptical about getting my child's survivor benefits on a pre-paid card due to security reasons and also I was nervous that it would not be eligible for loading government funds (if you receive government money, you will know how picky the state is as to what banks they will allow to access funds from them) but being that I did not want to have a checking account with paper checks I decided that it would be worth it for me to try and see if a Green Dot card would work for me and my son. If you have ever had to apply for survivors benefits for your child you know that it can most definitely be a lengthy process especially if there are other children from different relationships being as you all need to file at the same time and the first parent of a child that files starts a 90 day time clock for all other parents with children that have a common parent.
So after a lengthy six months I decided to call and find out why it is that I still had not received any payment for my son. After about an hour and a half on the phone they came to the conclusion they never sent the money be sure they had no payment processing information. I then had to re-submit the routing and account number in order for them to go ahead and release funds I was then told it could be up to another thirty days before I received the payment as they had to do verification on the account. Well lo and behold the great get ur money faster green dot delivered the very next morning. I was so thrilled that here it is two years later and I'm still using that same card and same account and have no intention on changing that any time soon.

Hate how we pay so much to do a reload and charges so much to take money out. When you do the reload it takes forever for money to be in account. Not all places takes these prepaid cards which sometimes sucks.

I relocated temporarily to Costa Rica. My card, nor the App work here. I have to transfer money from my Green Dot card to another card to be able to use my money. My direct deposit goes to my greendot card. This is a huge annoyance as it costs me 3% to relocate my earnings. I requested help from Greendot and was basically told “I can’t help you any further”, by the customer service person. I liked the card in New York but it’s pretty much useless if you’re traveling or temporarily working abroad. It took me hours to locate the rules concerning overseas usage and that information was vague at best. The Greendot rules are poorly written, difficult to find and confusing.

I used them several years ago. Money was tied up for a month waiting for a card that had to be sent 4 times and only received after legal action was pending; then, they were able to FedEx the card. Needless to say I took all off my money and spread the word fast. We can do something about lack of customer service and disdain displayed by the ones we patronize. Simply don't patronize them. If we don't come, they can't operate. They will go away and take their rude, lying, third-world underpaid workers with them. Warn everyone you know. The sorry repetitive response to all complaints speaks for itself. They don't care as long as you keep loading. Don't be a fool. Bankrupt them and get the last laugh.

I just started a new job and they asked for my direct deposit information. Unfortunately they left out the last four digits of my account number and now I have not received my paycheck. I contacted my employer and on their side it shows that the direct deposit went through, even though it was missing the last four of my account number. It’s been well over a week and still no pay from the direct deposit. No one will answer the phone or there isn’t an email that I can contact Green Dot to resolve this issue! Horrible crooks! Was not able to use my card. Was routed to the Asians who take the calls. They refused to help or know what the problem was and didn't want a bad survey after the calls so they kept disconnecting me!!! Disgusting. This is in the Philippines where they are getting away with treating customer terribly and hanging up on them! Now I'm left with no money to feed my dogs!!!

It would be nice to see ATM withdrawal amount not just the ATM fees so it would be easier balance checking but all in all I like Green Dot. It's easy to set up from the activation to the adding money and even the direct deposit.

I used an ATM with a skimming device which resulted in my account being robbed at 2 other ATMs. By the time I realized what happened the criminals had taken $600 out of my acct. Green Dot has been less than helpful. The denied my dispute. They said due to lack of documentation. This was 10 days after my dispute. I had called them several times during this 10 day period and was told everything was on track and they claimed to have everything they needed. Turns out they never did any real investigation like requesting video from the Cap One Bank where the criminals took my money. Their response to me regarding this was I needed to go back to Cap One and do this myself.
When I called Cap One they had no idea of this incident. I called the actual branches where this occurred. Cap One told me that Green Dot was supposed to be the one doing the necessary footwork to figure this out. So now after fighting with Green Dot over the phone for several hours they have resubmitted my dispute. The representative told me if I didn't collect more documentation that it is likely that my dispute will be denied again. This whole mess should have been worked out and solved by now. I did file a police report yesterday and provided via email correspondence the case # to Green Dot. This incident happened on June 2nd of this year. I'm on day 14 with no resolution in sight. I have been served eviction papers due to not paying rent and this has snowballed into several other bills being behind. I cannot wait another 10 days for them to get back with me. I need my $$ back. Please help. Any suggestions?? Thanks.

I accidentally bought a MoneyPak card instead of reload at the register. I bank with BankMobile Vibe, so it isn't one of Green Dot's bank or prepaid cards. It is my regular checking account. I figured it was no big deal, I should be able to load the MoneyPak to my account through their website. I typed in the MoneyPak number and set up an account login. It needed to verify my identity. No big deal. I uploaded pics of my ID. It said I would receive notice within 30 minutes. I waited and didn't get any messages. So, I tried to log in to see if there was any updated info there, like maybe it went through but the email to notify me didn't send. I kept getting a message that my username or password is incorrect. So, I tried changing the password. I got confirmation by text that my password was changed, but still couldn't log in.
After about two hours I received the email that my identity was approved, and a bunch of change of password notification emails over two hours after making the changes. By this time, I didn't even know what password it would recognize. So, I changed it one more time and went to bed, so it would have plenty of time to register before I tried signing in with the new password. It has been two days that I have been trying to sign in and getting told that my info is incorrect. The $500 I was trying to deposit to my bank account was my last paycheck from my job and was supposed to pay for the moving truck for me to move out of state. I had to cancel the truck and plan to just leave all of my stuff here in storage and just take what I can fit in my vehicle.
And, now I am worried that I won't even have enough gas money to get there, if I don't find a way to get my $500 back. I even tried just having my sister put the moneypak number into her account then transfer me the money from her bank account. But, when she tried it said that moneypak was denied probably because I had already typed it into my account before it asked me to verify my identity. I am freaking out! I have been reading all of these horrible reviews on different websites saying that it took forever to even get in contact with anyone from the Green Dot company. And, when they did, it took weeks to get a check for their disputed money. I am pretty sure the login issue is just some kind of technical issue with their site and that if I could log in to my account, I would be able to complete the transaction. I just need to talk to someone who can fix my account somehow.

Will not allow me to access my account via Green Dot app, continually tells me unable to try again later. So frustrated. Looking for another card to replace it that allows me to use online services. Also utterly impossible to get a representative on the phone, it's a AI useless voice that the doesn't help you at all. Not even an option to talk to a real person. Don't believe any real people actually work at this crappy company. Also every time I put cash on the card it's not available for 24 hours, a lot better off throwing away the card and keeping the cash, at least you can use that. Don't recommend anyone every purchase or use this card, better off flushing your money down the toilet, at least then you get to watch it swirl around the toilet before it disappears. You suck!

Yesterday I ordered a Green Dot card online. This morning I received an email stating that my card was suspended due to suspicious activity and I would have to submit a copy of my ID in order to get the card turned back on. Problem being that I DON’T EVEN HAVE THE CARD YET! How can a card that doesn’t exist yet already have suspicious activity on it? And when I called customer service no one could tell me why and how that happened. I’m a little concerned that when I finally do get the card that all my money that will be on it will be gone.

I have been having my account with Green Dot for years. Have been pleased up until recently when I had an issue with a pending transaction. Called Green Dot and rep informed me that if I call the company and they assist I can have the pending transaction removed. I did that. Called Green Dot back to get fax number and rep refused to give me a fax number and pretty much told me they wasn't going to do anything. I keep calling finally asking to speak with a supervisor. The rep left me on hold twice for 5 mins each and then came back and said manager was busy and said they would call me back and I never received a callback from anyone. I told one rep I was cancelling my card once my transaction reversed and she acted like she didn't even care. Did not like the service I was given and I will be cancelling my card when my funds reverse.

I really like the convenience of my card. I have direct deposit so I get paid a day earlier than payday which makes budgeting a lot easier for me. I like not having to write a check to pay bills. Going to the ATM is a pain and I wish there weren't charges for it but I know that is not your fault, cashback is a great alternative. Loading my card is easy too with several places in my area available to me. Recommended by a friend, I too recommend it to my associates. Thanks!

They like to steal money and don't file a dispute with them. They'll deny it and keep the funds. They are liars. Very very very poor customer service. They'll hang up on you if you tell them you wanna shut your account down and everything.

Very satisfied with my Green Dot. It's easy to check my balance at any time. I love how it is accepted everywhere, and the direct deposit keeps me from having to constantly cash a check at the bank. I also like the money back feature. Just wish you could get the $100 when you reach it.

Ok so one of my close friends set up a fundraiser for me on Facebook because I recently found out I have stage 4 lung cancer. We thought it would be convenient to have the $ put on our Green Dot card. 3 separate transactions were deposited to Green Dot from Stripe in the total amount of $963.15. I then went to sign into my account and my card was blocked. I then reached out to customer service only to be told I had to prove who I was and that the $ that was deposited belonged to me and was to go into my account. I asked them how I should do this since I was not the one who set the fundraiser up and did not have access to this account. They told me to screenshot a picture of the fundraiser page and send it to them along with a copy of my driver's licenses front and back. They gave me a case #. No return email or phone call or any kind of contact.
I called them back and they told me the same thing, that I needed to prove who I was. I wasn’t understanding the items that they were requesting. They just kept rudely repeating the documents that they needed. I requested to speak with a manager and they took my name and phone number and said a manager will call within 4 hours. No phone call was received that day at all. The next day I got a message from Green Dot requesting me to call the customer service number. I had my friend come to my house so she can log into her Facebook account so we could search for any type of receipts and we were able to find them (after getting help from fb live support). We printed them out and sent them to Green Dot. All information was in the receipts, the amount, for who and deposited to Green Dot.
Now mind you I now have a different case number as well. I called to verify they received my documents and ask them to unlock my card. Customer service states that now they cannot accept my scanned copy of my driver's licenses and that I needed to take a photo from my phone of front and back of DL and send it to them. I sent them exactly what they ask for. I again, followed up with a phone call and first I was told they have never received any documents and told me I had to prove who I was again. While customer service was on the phone I read off all the dates that I have submitted documents they ask for and told them when I spoke with someone the day before they said I needed to submit a picture of my DL. She then told me, "Yes ma’am that is true and the ID you sent us don’t match the information on the card." I said, "Wait a minute you said you didn’t receive any documents."
She then said, "Ma’am I need a photo ID with (my name) not Jesse White." I said, "Ma’am Jesse White is the Secretary of State and he is listed in the top of every IL driver's licenses." She repeated that she needed my ID not Jesse White. I then asked to speak to a manager. She became rude and took down my name and number and said a manager would call. All day no call. I just called back customer service. I gave them my card #, DOB, last 4 of SS, address and phone number.
She asked how she could help me and I told her I’m following up on my card and a phone call I was suppose to get. She told me that she couldn’t help me that I had to wait for a manager to call me. For someone who is sick and has no income I don't even have the words to express how angry I can’t access my money. I am giving this until 6-14-19 and if I can’t get this resolved I will be reaching out to a attorney. What a shame. Not to mention no one can tell me why I had $915.63 deposited but am only receiving 750.00. I’ve never gotten the run around as bad as this before by a major company.

Purchased a MoneyPak and loaded it with $500.00 to load my Debit Card to pay bills, first they took my I.D at the register and then had to send my I.D on the MoneyPak website and still no money loaded to my card, now I requested a refund and don't know if I'm getting that back, which by the way they say takes up to one or two weeks and still charge you 5.95 to play with your money. Meanwhile my bills aren't getting paid. So please tell me Green Dot how is MoneyPak the fast easy way to load a Debit Card?

Everything very good... except that your card doesn't work in Mexico. Also I cannot add enough money at convenience stores... Hope that my comments helps you out to improve your service. Direct deposit is good but some companies experience problems to use it.

My experience with Green Dot card has been excellent. I have been using my card with no problems. I'm able to pay bills and swipe at the register. I also like that I can get cash back. And I like to get cash back rewards.

They stole all my money in California, denied my dispute even with a police report. This company exploits poor people. Please please beware. My card was used in 4 states the same day, you would think this is all they'd need to know it is fraud. Store with the highest purchase even have the culprit on video, still Green Dot refuse to refund me my monies. Green Dot does not follow procedures as regular bank. Do not use or you will regret it.

I get paid every two weeks. I get paid on Fridays. I got Green Dot card due to being paid 2 days early which has never happened so that's false advertising. I will provide my last pay as an example. My job sends an email when the funds are sent to my account. So I received the email on May 28th stating funds were sent. I didn't receive until May 31st as that is when it was posted to my account. I called their automated line which states that my last deposit was on May 29th. I called to see why they are holding on to my pay for 2 days before releasing the funds to me. No one ever has an answer. They continue to tell me to contact my job. No supervisor or agent is ever helpful. I've been told so many different things by different reps is just ridiculous. It's like they read from a script.
I have confirmed with my job that my funds are sent every other Tuesday. If I can't get my money when my job sends it, then it's no point in me having this card. I am starting to feel like they hold on to it to collect a little interest then release it. It's extremely sad that such a large company dealing with so much money conducts themselves worse than the IRS. I will not be using Green Dot after tomorrow when they decided to release my funds. I have been with them the entire time I've had this job and have never gotten what's always being advertised. I am a salaried employee so it's not like it's a different amount that needs to be investigated. This is a horrible company who could care less about the needs of their customers. I will be submitting a complaint on the BBB website as well.

I think the membership fee for the card is too high because when you get the cash back rewards you’re pretty much just getting back what you paid for a fee so I don’t really see the point in the rewards.

I like this card because I get paid two days advance which is so helpful for me because I can pay bills before dates are due. The only thing I don't like is that I reach 100 dollars before I'm supposed to I which they would make it at least 150 or something else at the end of the year but other than that I love my card.

Yesterday I purchased a Green Dot MoneyPak from Walgreens. I later attempted to reload my Varo card with the help of a Green Dot customer service agent. I gave him my information card number and debit card number to be loaded. He confirmed the right amount and he also confirmed the correct card number. He later then said that the transaction was successful. One hour later I didn't receive my funds. I knew this was weird because I normally get them very fast. I called back, ain't got back to the same customer service agent who rudely said that I need to wait and be patient.
One day later I still have not received my funds. I needed this for a serious emergency that is still ongoing at this moment. I am very frustrated at the lack of customer service and the ability to reach a live agent. Your customer service agent either didn't listen or care about entering the right information or he stole my money point blank. At this point I just want my money back fast. If I cannot get my money back I will escalate this to every agency imaginable as well as my 20,000 Instagram followers.

I recently got my tax return on the Intuit Green Dot prepaid card. I was able to get a little bit of money out since I usually carry cash instead of my card, and when I needed to use my card again it was missing. Someone racked up charges on my account, and I had filed for a new card and to dispute the charges. On the 8th business day of the first claim, it was denied so I had to call back and ask for a supervisor to call me back the next day to get the claim reinstated. Then waited another seven days before a manager was able to call me back from the corporate office, told me how to send in the letter via email because I don't have money for stamps or gas, and then find out that it was denied the same day, when I called in to check on it the day after.
I'm extremely upset that this is happened, and that this is your decision on the matter and that no information was given on how to produce "new information" from the corporate office. I don't know who to contact now, or who to go to about this but I did see that I might have to contact some sort of governing authority over this matter. I really would not want to take the bureaucratic route but seeing as I already did with you guys and I'm the one who's getting punished in the situation.

Have never had an issue. Direct deposit always comes through. Money is always accessible. Refill and withdraw locations everywhere in the country. And the $100 back once a year is always a great surprise when it comes. I have had Green Dot Card now for about 9 months now and it's been nice getting my direct deposits early! I get notifications about your promotions. I get cash back on purchases. I have an easy to use APP. The only thing was one time I got charged 30.00 dollars for having zero balance at end of month. I guess that's what it was for? It never did explain why on my app. But other than that I love this card. Thanks.

I did not get my new card in the mail. Green Dot makes it almost impossible to contact customer support and fix problems. I don't want to pay for another card when I didn't get my last one. I can't use direct deposit because of this.

Green Dot is an easy debit card that I reload for the expenses of a senior citizen I work for. Never had a problem. I would recommend this card to anyone that has easy access to a Walgreens for reloading.

I like Green Dot for the convenience, and getting paid earlier. Recently I had a security issue with some weird charges on my card, and spoke with customer service. On a positive note, my new card got to me earlier than expected. On a less positive note, customer service is simply okay. They seem rushed to get you off the phone, and so not seem to listen very well. As well, I think it strange that I need to send a letter in to further processing of my claim, when I fully explained everything to the reps. Thank you.

I had 2 unapproved transactions. The customer service rep handled my call calmly and professionally which was great because I was extremely upset. She provided the information I needed to get the issue resolved. She also expedited my new card to me within 48 hours after my call.

I've not had any problems or issues like I have in the past with other banks and I'm so thankful for that I've always gotten my deposit early which I love very much. I wish you could transfer money to actual bank accounts and not just other Green Dot cards. I have both types of accounts and I hate having to go to the ATM and then to my bank. I'm seriously considering just using my bank account and not my Green Dot card.

The card came in the mail for me. I set up direct deposit and it was easy. I'm able to make online purchases and buy at the store without having to carry cash. Very easy to use. I would recommend this service to everyone I know and anyone who might ask who I bank with. Ty so much for making my life a little easier.

Everything is great so far. I've used the card for more than 2 years and never had an issue and if I ever did they answer quickly too. I use direct deposit and also the ATM fees are ridiculous. Other than that, everything is point on.

There are really no major issues with this bank, only minor. The biggest minor issue is there is not an ATM machine strictly for Green Dot. I am charged $3 for each withdrawal and that is a problem for me.

Have hardly ever had issues while using this bank, direct deposit is fast; who doesn’t love getting paid two-three days early? Their customer support team is well built and any minor issues I’ve had they were able to solve them.

Never had any problems with my card. It has always worked when loaded. I have never used the checks though I have some so no comment on those also the same with the secured credit card. Haven't completed the requirements for the cash back yet so no comment.

My deposit time is never the same. Makes me sad. Some days at 5 on Wednesday and then a lot not until Thursday am. Then it states the deposit day, one day earlier than it actually loaded. Like now, sit and wait when they say 2 days ahead. Wondering if I should change providers. It’s just frustrating.

Long as I have had my Green Dot card, it has been a very great experience. The pros are the checking and savings acct access and the ability to transfer, send, deposit, and withdraw fund at my will. The only cons I have is the $9.95 fee for maintenance. I have a card from another issuer with the same features but it's free checking and savings no fees.
The other con is the cash back. Whole it's good to get cash back it takes to long to see your return on the cash back. Let me explain, for example, right now I have already used my card enough to get the $100 cashback which I think is the max. But i won't get that money until next year. Like last year. It seems to me that the cash should be given as it's accumulated, not at the end of the year. By that time I will have used my card for thousands of dollars. Like last year. Other than that I have no issues with it. The cards great for what I need it for.

It is a great banking system. Very easy to use app, updates right away. Direct deposit goes in at least a day and a half earlier. I can use it anywhere and have never had a problem with it. I would like to see the cash back a little earlier then every year. Maybe 50 every 6 months.

So far I have been extremely satisfied with my Green Dot Visa card. Although I do feel like the monthly fees are a little high, which may ultimately lead me to use a different service in the long run. The ease of access is great and customer service has been very helpful when I needed it.

I was surprised at how much the Green Dot card can do for me. It is just like a bank card and it does actually have a checking account (routing and account number) which comes convenient when doing finances that require a bank account. I do have to suggest getting the VIP card. When I had the basic card, I was unable to use it when getting gas for my car. The VIP card allows you to do that. Other than that, it works just like a real bank checking/debit card.

It is good for the normal use. I like that I receive my direct deposit a day early as well. The only bad thing is the rates taken for the ATM. You pay almost five dollars to withdraw from the ATM. Other than that I can use it anywhere.

I love that I get payed 2-3 days earlier. No hidden fees and easy to use service! Only downside is having to pay the monthly fee if your account isn’t over $1000. Other than that, I love my GreenDot card!

I love my cash back card. I switched from the regular one and and almost done with my year - I will get $100. I use it for paying bills and getting my paycheck. There is also an option to save money and I intend on using that as well towards Christmas presents for my family.

This card is so easy to use. I like this card 'cause you dont have to keep a certain amount on the card. The other reason is you get paid two days before you get paid. That helps me stay on my budget and buy bill on time. I always tell people about this card.

I moved back to the United States from Germany and needed a quick solution for my finances. Green Dot has been excellent throughout my experience. The app works perfectly and notifies me of any charges, updates and deposits flawlessly. I also use Green Dot for my direct deposit and often I receive payment a day before payday, which is a nice bonus! However it is difficult sometimes using the card at certain locations. Be wary that car rental companies and some business will not honor the 'pre-paid' card as an actual debit card, even though it has the Visa logo. But on average 95% of transactions work perfectly as a normal debit transaction. Thanks Green Dot!

I really enjoy using this card because my payroll/SS check is deposited at least two days before I am supposed to receive it. On certain months I may be running low on funds and so it helps when you have access to your funds a little bit early. I would recommend this card to anyone.

My card experience has been wonderful they always update when I receive a deposit or when my balance is low. I also love that it has a vault so I can stash money away for a rainy day. I will definitely recommend this card for people that don't have it already.

Remove monthly maintenance fee of $9.95 for long-term account holders or account holders with recurring direct deposit. The cashback minimum of $100 is pointless when it’s canceled out by the yearly $120 in fees. I will be canceling my account beginning next year.

This has been a convenient way for banking, as well as card purchases with easy to find locations to refill or withdraw your cash. There's options available for direct deposit, bank transfers, and other features. I haven't had to deal with any disputes, and only once or twice have I spoke with a customer service agents and was treated very well.
I do not being charged 10$ a month for the little I use it my card or account. In my opinion and having low income has been quite frustrating at times, having 2 dollars to my name and a 10$ account fee deducted at the 1st of every month will stay negative with the remaining amount until another deposit. Beggars can't be choosers of course and for me the pros out way the cons and I avoid overdraft fees of 35$ from local federal banks. Overall it's fine for me.

My card used to have no fees as long as I deposit over $1,000 a month. I contacted customer service and ask them if Green. Had a card that had no fees and they told me yes, but they could not tell me what card it was. I now currently deposit over $2,000 a month on this card and I'm looking for another card to replace it.

I would have given 5 stars but now I don't get my check early like when I first got the card. That's why I bought the card 'cause it said up to 2 days early available funds on direct deposit. Now I get my funds on the normal payday instead of Wednesday.

Dislike $1.50 fee for every debit. And had a unauthorized charged. Called to stop payment cause was pending. Agent told me they couldn’t stop it and would have to disputed once it posted. So I’m out $75 because the payment couldn’t be stopped for a reason I don’t know. They said it would have to post then I have to dispute it but I wanted the payment stopped before it was even posted not very helpful at all.

Have had little problems with the card and account since I've had it. Only complaints would be the fees added recently for ATM withdrawal and no longer being able to pre approve checks. Get my check deposited earlier than with a bank!

I chose Green Dot when I had to relocate to an unfamiliar area. I was not familiar with any of the local banks and needed to have access to a direct deposit account to receive paychecks. I had heard of a number of prepaid debit cards. Green Dot was a name I recognized and with no fees it was the best option for me. I originally thought it would be a temporary solution while I shopped for a local bank. The service has been excellent and none of the possible "hidden hooks" have ever been discovered. I am very pleased that I chose to trust Green Dot!

Green Dot has been a great card since day one. Easy to use, accepted almost everywhere, easy to load money on to, the cash back rewards, and good app to use on my iPhone. Only disadvantages to the card are the fee to reload the card is a little high-it should be based off the amount of money being reloaded on to the card.
