I love this card and 100 dollar reward you receive after a year is great! But the card fee..I think needs to coincide with your direct deposits and one a regular date of the month for withdrawal to cover the service fee. Besides that love the card????

I actually love the card just wish the cashback was every 6 months vs 12 months. It would actually bring more customers because they would feel like it's in it for them to join and also need to get connected with other companies so we can get loans, cash app and ext...

When I signed up for the card I liked the getting paid two days early feature and the cashback feature. But my cashback amount has steadily gone down. Also a year before you can access it is not good.

Although it is very easy to use the $10 monthly fee should not exist because the card has to be purchased before it can be used. A lot of places won't allow direct deposit because it isn't from a major bank.

I really like my Green Dot account and card especially the part where I can get rewards after 12 months of using it. The only problem I have is it's been 8 months. I'm in my 8 months but yet they still say I'm in my 7th month and have to get five more months instead of four more months to get my money. Can you please explain that. Other than that I don't have a problem with Green Dot. I love it.

I use Green Dot all the time. With not having to pay fees is my favorite part along with the customer service is impeccable. I have recommended this company to my friends who have since been using for some time.

Everything has been great. I only rated 4 stars and not 5 because I can’t connect to a cash app or PayPal and other things like that so if we could add that it would be the perfect debit card and maybe add a credit option so younger people could build their credit.

I love Green Dot. Everything is always on time. Customer service is great. All around very dependable. You even earn cashback from purchases which then you can cash out in twelve months. I totally recommend green dot to anyone who's been looking and researching. You will be happy with their service.

I have had no issues with my card, I use the App all the time to get my accurate totals of transactions. I would tell everyone to get a GreenDot card. And of course the money back tractors is Great!...

Wish you could earn more cash back. At first I had 250.00 and a couple months back you switch to 100.00 and the monthly fee should be waived when you have direct deposit and use as much as I use my card for.

My experience has been good, mostly painless. The one thing that becomes a determent is not being able to use to card for sending money like I could with a debit card, such as facebook payments. Or some streaming services, like Netflix. I will more than likely switch to an actual bank after tax season in order to be able to use those features. The other thing is ATM fees. I understand this is a free card Green Dot needs to offer a place where we can withdraw at a lower fee.

Seeing that I don’t make a thousand a month but get direct deposit I still have to pay the monthly fee which sometimes put me in the negative???? And it’s not like I’m able to take out a small secured loan.

Not happy with card. You say get paid up to two day early and I do not I get paid on a Friday. Only issues with service and send too many times same messages every day. Not good. False information of getting paid early.

I am very pleased with the services provided by the Green Dot company. I haven't had any problems. When I lost my card, they replaced it quickly. I like the app. I wish there were more locations to put money on the card, or have funds transferred without delay from another account.

I'm very satisfied with the service I've received from GreenDot. The card is easy to set up and convenient to use. The vault feature is really handy, and I use it often to set aside cash aside. I like that I can lock my card if I know I'm not going to be using it for a while and the cashback feature is great! Thanks for doing such a great job, I really appreciate it!

I have been with Green Dot for almost a year. They have been very good bank and fair! I wouldn't change a thing! I'm so thankful there is no overdraft charges and any hidden charges that come off my card! Very good bank and I would recommend to all my friends! Thanks Green Dot!

I am very pleased with Green Dot. I love the cashback tracker and especially the vault feature. The mobile app is very easy to use and I've had nothing but positive experiences using Green Dot in the year I have had it. There has never been a single issue for me except the $9.95 fee every month. I do feel that is too much. I will say that's the only negative thing about this card. Whoever is in charge of that should really consider decreasing that fee!! Also I would really like to know exactly when my 12 months is up so I can receive my cashback earnings. It has been stuck on 11 out of 12 months for quite some time now and I'm not sure why it is taking so long. I'm positive I have been using this card for over a year now. Thank you.

I am very satisfied I have not had any problems with the Green Dot bank card it has exceeded my expectations. I have been telling people to get the card it's worth it. I haven't came across a place that does not accept my card.

Green Dot is actually the best card for me. It never lets me overdraw my account. Not only that but my direct deposits hit fast. As well as the chance to earn cashback. The only sad part is.... is that I already made my limit in cashback in less than four months and it doesn’t let you earn any more than that. That’s the only sad thing about this card.

It should be a set time when direct deposits should be posted. I’m very unhappy with the times my funds are available and it’s very difficult, inconvenience, and unorganized. Please do better for future customers using your services. This past holiday season was the worse outta all the years I’ve been using Green Dot Bank. I waited all day for a post at 5pm central time zone. And you should also have a spot me pay for the customers that has direct deposit. That would be a major help at times.

I love Greendot card but they don’t send no email to when your direct deposit will come. That’s my only problem. Other than that I love that card. I wish green dot will do overdraft. I love how you can earn point.

I really enjoy my card, and love the fact that I can increase my balance up to $5000. My only complaint is there is no ability to do a balance transfer. If that were added, and maybe some rewards this card would be just about perfect.

I am very happy with Greendots card service! I used to use a different shall not be named blue card but they were complicated. Greendot makes things easy and not complicated! I use it for direct deposit and bill paying.

Only criticism is monthly use fee, even with a direct deposit. A lot of cards waive this with direct deposit. Otherwise I love it. I like the cash rebate also. I also like that you can keep your bills on the app and just pay them all from 1 page. It's that pesky 9.95 per month that I don't like and would make me change cards.

Never receive a card with my name on it and I have direct deposit every week. And have had problems linking my card to some apps. Just feel it should be more bank account like all around the board and not just some ways.

Great experience. Just think ATM fares plus being charged by your service is too much. Basically it's like $5 plus what i would like to take out from using the ATM! But overall i enjoy the service and getting my paycheck a day before!

The card works great. Only have had an issue with it not swiping a few times and had to re-swipe it to get it to run through. Other than that I have had no problem with the card. I do like that you can stash money.

Every time that I use this service, I could not be happier that I am out from under the fees and BS from other banks. My direct deposit always shows up on time. My card is accepted almost everywhere I go.

Green Dot bank is a great card. I do like it but I don't like the fact how I had $200 in cash back and all the sudden it's gone and then now I only have $100 cash back so what was the point of me getting this card if I'm not keeping my cash back reward points but overall it's a good card.

Never got a call from a supervisor as I asked. I had 1 card with you guys for over a yr w SSI direct deposit. I got a second card and it didn't verify my information so it said won't send me a permanent card and I couldn't use it for atm with draw after I deposited 200 bucks. Your customer service representative sucks and I am gonna take my business elsewhere here very soon.

Would like to get my when pay check instead of being charged twice to get it out. I don't think there should be a limit. Would like to see this changed. Would like to get all my money when I get paid not have to wait two days and get charged twice at atm.

I wish you guys supported rounding up so I can use my Acorns app with this card and not my Netspend card. I prefer to use my Green Dot because they dont charge a fee per transaction. If you guys could do that I would love it so much more.

I have had this card for a little while now and just here recently you have started charging me a membership fee which usually puts my account into the negative. I do not appreciate that and i would like to know why you had just started this all of a sudden. It makes no sense to me.

I honestly have no complaints, I have been using my card for years and I love it, wish cash back was paid out twice a year vs once. But other than that it's amazing. We use it for everything from direct deposit to bill pay to online orders to everyday purchases.

Very happy with Green Dot. Just wish they had 100 overdraft like netspend. That would be nice to have. Having that cushion would help. Otherwise I love my green dot card and the fact that I get my deposits early.

I love my Green Dot card. It has so many great features and I love the cash back. Also I can withdraw cash at any register in Walmart. I love that I can deposit cash at any Walmart and my card works for any purchase or bill payment I need. Green dot definitely has a happy customer, always.

Green Dot has been very helpful. It lets me pay bills on line and on time. It protects me from having to carry cash. And I can use it everywhere. I would like to see more features such as advances up to 50.00$ until payday. Sometimes things get a little hard.

I wish with a direct deposit (mine is 1047) that the monthly fee would be waived. I also use the unlimited account and will be switching my deposit to that account and close this one after i am able to use my 250 cashback.

I’ve been informed that when taking money from an atm there is no charge, however every time I withdraw money there is an additional fee. Also I feel as though the monthly charge of $9.95 is kind of a burden. Especially when you don’t have the money on your account and it is still taken, and if you didn’t have enough money a negative balance is placed on your card.

I'm very pleased with getting paid early. Just didn't Know about monthly fee. Mostly everywhere I go accept my card. Love that I can use it online and also earn money just for using the card which is a plus.

I've been using my Green Dot card for a while now and it works great. I initially got it because of the convenience of using it and I do everything I need to with it. I also like the fact that I get paid two days early at times.

I've been with Green Dot for two years and it's going all fine. When I called them, they handled the situation well.

I was supposed to receive my payroll direct deposit on 1/10/20 and did not. It is now 2 days later and still have yet to receive it. Upon looking around online there appears to be dozens and dozens of people with the same issue. Upon calling their customer service I am directed to a call center where all they are capable of doing is stating their scripted answers. They told me to contact my employer which I already had and the money had been sent as it as been for the 4+ years to the same routing / account number. Never with issue those 4 years. They state that they are unaware of any problem with their system but based on all the comments I've found on a variety of websites it is clear there is an issue. I'm in dire need of my payroll and I am uncertain when or if I shall receive it.

My experience with Green Dot is better than any bank that I've used. I was working at Kroger and Green Dot was the best option for me for direct deposit. I did get my checks earlier than when I used to and I've been using Green Dot ever since. One benefit is the convenience and for about a year now, I've also been able to secure my finances with the whole Vault system thing with the app, where I'm able to actually put money away and keep it where I'm not able to spend it right away. The representatives are also always easy to deal with. They are really friendly people and they always get down to the root issue. I had a charge before that I had to dispute and I was able to get results pretty easily.

I bought this card before Christmas for my son. We've been trying to activate it for weeks and we keep getting the message: "Sorry! We are facing some technical difficulties, please try again later." We called customer service at Walmart and Green Dot and they keep sending us some cookie cutter instructions that don't work. We've tried different search engines, we cleared cache and cookies, tried different computers, phones and it keeps saying the same message. This is a problem on their end but they keep saying it's our problem. Would like to just get a refund. I regret ever using this card. Would like someone to contact me and really help me solve this without copying and pasting their only unworkable instructions.

Compared to other providers, Green Dot has only one fee. But if I get $1,000 on my card a month, there ain’t no fee. I really like the card and it’s easier to use. I also take advantage of the direct deposit option and sometimes, I get my money within two to three days before payday.

Green Dot has worked really well for me. I got the card since 2018 and I get my checks a day early in it. And the app is really nice.

Satisfied that I’m expecting a refund check. Still frustrated that there’s no explanation of why the number was invalid on the MoneyPak I had just purchased. People.

I feel it makes no sense that when you purchase a Green Dot card you're not allowed to do anything with the card except swipe. You can’t transfer money or withdraw from ATM. That’s really convenient, especially if you have money on the card and there is nothing you can do but wait for the “personalized card” to come in the mail. Try and contact someone to track the card and of course you can never get into contact with anyone. I just want to be able to take off MY Money and make my purchases as needed without all the backlash. I would NOT Recommend this card to ANYONE. The app is ok I guess. I like the lock card feature. Would be nice if I could ACTUALLY Use it though.

I got another job and they needed a card. I didn't have one at that time because I couldn't use the one that I had for the job that I got now. So, my son went out to the store, got me one, and ended up with a Green Dot card. I've used it to make online purchases and everything's good. I have it for nine months now and I haven't had a bit of trouble with it.

On December 31st 2019 I rented a car. The amount taken out of my account was $338.16 and additional $75 was taken out of my account by Green Dot. When I called Green Dot to verify that amount I was told that they pre-authorize an additional $75 which brought the total to $413.16 and that whenever you rent a car they will do pre-authorizations but when your transactions are completed my $75 would be returned back to my account. The rental was returned 01/02/2020 and the rental car company returned my $200 deposit the next day 01/03/2020 but the $75 was never refunded back to my account. The representatives see the the $413.16 transaction but don't know what happened to the $75. Instead they keep giving me reference and dispute number. I am disable and on a fixed income and would hate to hear that the card my direct deposit comes on scam me for $75. This is wrong. Can you please check this.

I had an issue with the online pay bill for 4 weeks until to date but no one care to fixed it. They keep saying the issue will be fixed as soon as possible. If you have an issue is hard for them to take care.

I walked in the store and grabbed a Green Dot card for my company to load my paycheck on it. I've been able to do everything with it and I'm quite impressed with it. I have the card for eight months now and I use it mostly to pay bills. I'm happy with it.

I've been managing my finances better since having Green Dot. The app shows me everything that I spent and when I spent it. It's good. Even the cashback is a good thing and I just stack that up throughout the months.

When I got Green Dot, I was a little surprised that I didn't get my checks early enough and I was getting them all at the same time as I usually do. It doesn't really matter to me if I get them two days early though. But hopefully, one day soon they’ll update and get chips on their card. I don't even have my card though. My baby momma is there in Texas and I gave it to her. I got the Samsung Pay and use Green Dot on my phone. I also have CashTrack on and any time you swipe it or use it, you get cash. It changes after a year of using the card and you’ll get that cash from your card. Green Dot doesn't charge you a lot of fees and they got a cashback, rewards thing. The monthly fee is cool because it works and they don’t charge me any hidden fees. I know everywhere I take it, which is a good thing. With it, I’m not getting robbed at any place. It’s one of the very best that I've used.

Like a few others before me, I’ve also fallen victim to the “You have exceeded the number of Moneypak deposit attempts allowed in one day” and now have no way of receiving the money I’ve loaded to the moneypak and that I am so desperately in need of. I’m shaking. I’m so furious right now. When something like the Moneypak is generally used for emergency situations and for them to allow something like this to occur without ANY way of contacting other speaking with a live human being is beyond me?! Of course you’re able to fill out their help form, but they say that it WILL BE 24 HOURS BEFORE THEY GET BACK TO YOU! if I had 24 hours to spare I wouldn’t have needed to use the Moneypak!

They steal your money by never sending your replacement card if you lose it. I ordered a replacement card in the first week of December after my wallet was stolen. I waited two weeks and it never came. I called customer service and was told that a new one would be expedited to me and guess what? That was 11 days ago. I was forced to halt all my direct deposits because I can only assume they are trying to steal people's money by never sending out replacement cards.

I got a Green Dot prepaid card for Christmas and registered the card only to find there was a negative balance of 30 dollars. Apparently when I was given a prepaid Green Dot card as a gift a year ago it has been gathering fees all this time. I had no idea because I just thought it was prepaid, that my Mom paid a certain amount of money on it as a gift for me. Had I known that I would've canceled the card from a year ago. I just didn't think to read all the "fine print". Now I have to tell my Mom that not only is my balance -30 but I couldn't even use the new one as a gift. I will tell her and everyone I know to never use Green Dot as a gift card. This is a rip off.

I'm very disappointed in this card because the only thing I did was going to the store purchase a GreenDot card. Ask the cashier to load $80 on the card. Went to my car to try to access the card but could not reach the cord I don't. Call over a hundred times talking to customer service at Green. They gave me a case number. My case number is **. Talk to anyone. Since then they've been giving me the run-around. I'm thinking about going to the Federal trade commission about the cause is not my fault that the systems were down or whatever but I just want my money back. I don't have money like that to just throw up in the air just leave without questioning with my money when that's the only thing I want is someone to please contact me. I bought an unlimited card to do my Christmas shopping online. Put 400.00 on it. I got the regular card and registered it. I tried to make a purchase on Amazon and it was denied. I called the number on the back and they said it wasn't fully registered. That I had to go online or through the appt or call and fully register it. So I tried and tried and have been trying for 2 weeks and it keeps telling me. Sorry! We are facing some technical difficulties, please try again later.

Pure trash. Bought the card yesterday. Loaded it with $50. They charged the monthly fee. I only spent about $20, get on there today and the balance says -$15. Customer service tried telling me I was being charged with 2 monthly fees, even after explaining to them that I just bought the card yesterday, I even offered to provide proof. I have the receipt and the email they Sent me after activating the card yesterday. Then they delete my account. Don’t waste your money on them. They have millions of bad review. They are thieves.

Received as a gift and I was dumb enough to activate it. Wrong move! I want to cancel it and I CAN'T! I DON'T CARE IF THERE IS MONEY LEFT ON IT. Keep it. I just want it cancelled and they won't let me. SCAM SCAM SCAM and now they have my info. I'm kicking myself for even opening it.

A prepaid debit card is a bank account, but if there is not much funds in there and it gets lost, nobody can do anything with it. So, I basically use my Green Dot for purchases online versus using my bank card online. Making purchases online went through well every time, and it is a little bit better than what PayPal does. I like its convenience.

Green Dot banking was not helpful when I filed a dispute on transactions I did not make. I call every day to make sure I sent everything to prove I didn't make the transaction. I got no updates on the dispute. I was told I would receive an email which never happened. They just kept saying it's under review. No more no less. $778 was taken and I need answers. My dispute was denied. I tried calling because today to see why the dispute was denied. They did not answer from my phone number. So I use someone else phone to call they answer but still didn't give me an legit reason why my dispute was denied.

I've had this card for 3 months. My last two paychecks have been late and this paycheck I haven't even received. I got my paystub and should get paid the next day. Lies. It's going on 24 hours. There's no free atms and it's basically false advertising. You don't get paid early and when you contact them they can't even give you info on your dd so basically they are just a sham middleman making money off of you for nothing but the access to a ** system. And don't message me in private. Respond in public.

I reloaded money in the sum of $160 Friday. It never loaded. I have the receipt that says it was loaded. I call like 6 times a day and they say everyday call back the next day. They keep requesting documents then when I send them they act like I didn't. I finally got a few people that confirmed they got the documents though when I called back they tried to pretend I had not sent them again. That was my Christmas money. My issue is not resolved still and they stole my money. I have seen multiple others who have this same issue with them. Exercise caution in dealing with this company. Do not load anything you can't afford to lose.

Updated on 12/28/2019: So I was asked by a Green Dot rep to send the info regarding the can't verify your identity which when I called them to talk about this issue he had all my info right and didn't see anything in his system so he said that would hold me back from getting a regular card. Well my paycheck is still in limbo and hopefully I get it by next week lol. I think they should pay me being that I'm a single mom of 4 kids and scrapping change just to get to work. Now I've sent all proof he asked for and now no reply. They are AN JOKE.

I saw Green Dot at the checkout and I like that it was free if you had the direct deposit. It works out good for me, and I like how they have that little bank thing. I can separate my finances in there. Overall, by not having as much in my pocket, I save money.

When I was working, my direct deposit would sometimes come a day or two before I got paid. Other times, my money would come in when it wants to. Since having the card, I've made online purchases once or twice and it was a good process.

My employer sends my direct deposits on time and even processed same-day ACH on Friday Dec 20th, it is now 1pm on Monday Dec 23rd and I have not received my direct deposit yet. Chat customer service is useless and sends the same robotic messages over and over. I do not trust this company and I do not recommend them especially if you need your direct deposits on time. Unless they can get their act together I will be switching to a new bank. I would appreciate it if a Green Dot representative that could actually assist me get back to me on this.

Having the card is easier than keeping the cash at home. Even my bills are linked with it, too. They get my direct deposit there. I don’t really have to do anything anymore. And I get paid early, so that’s nice. I get paid on a Wednesday normally, and I get it on a Tuesday early morning. Some direct deposits I get late, like 7 p.m. This one I get like 12 o’clock in the morning, so that’s nice. But I don’t like how they have to charge for every withdrawal when I want cash. There’s nowhere I can go that it gives me free cash withdrawal.

Using Green Dot to pay online has worked out great. I like that I can store things away and not have things that call themselves subscriptions take money from my account without my permission, so I'm able to protect my money. I've been having an automatic draft put in my account and for what seems to be a new bank, they are doing a good job, especially for an electronic-based thing.

First of all straight trash. I pay 9.99 a month and don't even get my check early. They pay me on my payday and also asap direct deposit is straight fake and **. I'm waiting on 200 dollar deposit to show that Jackson Hewitt advance me normally. I would had if I use my America Express Serve card but Green Dot going to make me wait 3 ** days now so yeah done with this crap card. Straight rip off.

I needed a prepaid card but by the time that it came in the mail, I didn’t end up needing it so I just put it in my wallet. Then, I ended up getting my job and getting direct deposit using my Green Dot card. It also has a stash on the app like a safe box. I could put money in there so I don’t end up spending it. So, if I swipe and it was a $50 purchase and I only have $20 in my card, it’ll decline it even though I have the other $30 in my stash box. I like it. And as for the direct deposit, I get them a day early.

I bought the Green Dot card by accident. I was looking for a prepaid Visa card and I thought it was the same card, but it wasn't. I've been using it for two years now and I need it to get my paycheck. It takes two days to get my direct deposit. But it doesn't let me pull off more than 300 per day. For online purchases or paying bills, the card is easy to use.

I can't believe I am writing this review. I have NEVER had a problem until today. My DD did not hit and I asked what was going on. I was told it was delayed but could not tell me why. I asked when I will receive my money and was told "sometime today". Mind you, I am sitting in the doctor's office and can't pay. I understand that things happened but to tell someone who is waiting on their money that it will be received "sometime today" is unacceptable. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Good morning. I really don't have to much bad to say about the card. Considering the fact that we are given our dd up to 2 days early. Except this morning was really crazy I had to contact the 24/7 support to find out there was a delay going on with the dd. I just wish they would have better communication with its customers especially when it come to something like delays. I mean a mass email or text to everyone would be nice. When I spoke with they still couldn't give me a answer on when the issues will be resolved.

Green Dot bank card was suppose to asap deposit my check two days ahead of time. It is now going on three with no money. I'm missing work and school because I have no gas money. Completely unacceptable, very dissatisfied at the service.

Good but lacks in customer service and consistency. Great card for banking other than the lack of being able to contact customer service except through text, and inconsistency in deposit times. Sometimes my check is available at 4 am. Sometimes not until 10 am so you can’t make plans accordingly due to unreliable timing. The 400$ withdrawal is too low and has caused me to have to jump through hoops to pay my rent.

Most of my friends on Facebook had Green Dot and I always got these pop advertisements. So, I tried it out. I was using it to pay bills and stuff. I had my direct deposit going there, which I got a day earlier. But then I had to switch it over to the credit union. I switched my direct deposit is because I'm a veteran and I'm getting a VA loan, so I had to go to Navy Federal Credit Union to do that. If I didn't have to do that, then I never would have switched it. Nevertheless, whenever I have spare cash, I still load it. Then I use it for when I do my FanDuel or if I pay and buy something. The reload of it is fine.

I love my Green Dot card. It’s the best thing ever. I used my green dot card from home and ordered all my Christmas gifts. And also pay my electric bill and I pay my two daughters' phone bills and send money to my other 3 kids. It’s absolutely wonderful. Couldn’t ask for any thing better.

I wrote a review yesterday complaining about my customer service experience and a misunderstanding regarding the monthly service fee. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a prompt response in the form of a phone call from corporate. The man was friendly and took the time to explain my issue thoroughly. While I am unhappy about the miscommunication previously, I am very happy to know that my concerns were heard and acknowledged.

The "chat" people are rude and are not helpful at all. Should have known when the inserted instructions in the package were like a prescription warning label. BE WARNED!!!!! Filed complaint w/ BBB try to get my money back.

Updated on 12/18/2019: So, after Green Dot “blocking” any and all access to my card for a total of approximately 7 calendar days I finally receive a call back from their corporate office. What they say to me is that they need yet another receipt from me proving a credit to my account. I’ve already sent them 3 receipts, my state ID, as well as my Social Security card and apparently those aren’t good enough. I have literally spent 6-8+ hours trying to gain access to $ that is mine to begin with. This is absurd. The corporate reps phone call did give me a glimmer of hope on getting me my money though. We’ll see....Fingers crossed.

A few weeks ago I noticed 3 transactions made from my account adding up to over $700 that I did not make. I took direct action and called the number I was told to call but I was unable to get ahold of an actual person so I took a different route by filing a dispute form online only to wait for what seemed like 2 weeks for it to be resolved only to be told that my dispute was denied. I did not make those transactions and I'm considering taking legal action against Green Dot Bank for not giving me my hard earned money that was stolen from me back.

My direct deposit goes into my Green Dot early and it is good. Walmart is close as a reload location, too.

I use my Green Dot Prepaid card as an extra credit card for different purposes. So far, it has been easy to use.

I had NetSpend and I ended up going with Green Dot. It is aweseom and I prefer it. I use it to pay bills and make online purchases. I also did direct deposit, but I'm at the middle of rebuilding my score, so I'm mostly going with traditional banking now.

So I've had the Turbo prepaid card for 10 months. The only good thing about this card is that you receive your money sooner than your pay date. I had three or four fraudulent charges on my card near the holidays and this was the first time this has ever happened to me in my life. I reported the charges and I was told I would receive a refund. Then week later I was told they decided not to refund me my money back and they had no further information for me. The charges were in Florida and I live in Virginia. I don't know why or how they would decide it's ok for me to be robbed and I'm a single mom. Every dollar counts. I will never use this bank service again.

I have tried to purchase and load two different Green Dot cards and one does not work AT ALL. The other said it will only work in person at a store/vendor. I tried to email to get my money back and my emails are coming back REJECTED. I verified the email address four times! This is ridiculous! I was going to use direct deposit for my account but NEVER would I trust your company with my money again! Now I have $900 tied up and can't get to it! What the heck is going on?!!! I WANT MY MONEY BACK OR THE CARDS TO WORK NOW!

When I first sign up 7 months ago...Green Dot advertised a cash back rewards for this particular card for up to $250 cash back for purchases made within 12 months. The monthly fee is 9.95/month for this card program. As of December 1st, 2019 I accrued close to $170 cash back for 7 months as tracked by GreenDot and displayed on my account online. Upon checking it today it’s now displayed I only have $77 cash back thus far for 7 months of 12. I immediately contact GreenDot and now the representative said GDot only offer up to 100 now! Is this even legal for GreenDot to do? They took my money every month for the last 7 months for the fees to use this card and now they will not honor their end of the agreement! Scammed me out of my cashback rewards money of $170 thus far!

I ordered a replacement card on 11/19/2019. They charged me a $5 replacement card fee. I was told it would take 7 business days. I did not receive it before Thanksgiving. Me and family did not have food to eat. I called them on Black Friday because it still had not come. They showed it had been delivered. I waited until Monday thinking it was just slow mail because of the holidays. Monday came - still no card.

I was very surprised but happy that the issue was resolved and I did receive my new card they very next day after talking to all those people and therefore I would give them a 4 star rating because of the little bit it took to get through all those people to get the right result.

I've really had no bad experience with my Visa card. I bought the GreenDot card when my regular bank account visa card got hacked into, so I was told to buy a reload card when I travel, which I travel a lot. Even though I use the card to travel it still got hacked, but it was easier getting the money refunded by Greendot than dealing with my bank. Everyone that eats in a restaurant ends up getting their card hacked. I do wish it was a different color, I don't want people to know that it's a re-load card. But all in all the card it's a great card.

Website would not allow info about how to bank transfer. Tried the app and was able to get the information. Tried talking to reps on the website chat. Was amazed at how little help these people were. I started 5 chats. This fifth person gave me a case number. The next day Green Dot called. When I answered I tried to explain that this card is for my son who has autism. I told this person that he doesn't talk on the phone but we could get him to confirm his SS. Yes he's an adult but his communication is poor. I monitor the card for him. I want to transfer money from my account on to the card with his name on it so he can purchase things online. I said she would have to talk to me. She seemed confused but asked him to authorize that could talk for him. So I said ok and we were waiting for her to ask him to authorize this very thing.

I purchased my Green Dot Visa card at a local Walmart in Plano, TX the day before Thanksgiving. I had the customer service rep at Walmart Load my card and afterwards, I stood their to try and activate it because it was my first time. Well, after 30 minutes it still would not activate. I left and allowed a few hours and tried again. Still didn't work. I went back to Walmart and they told me it was out of their hands and to contact Green Dot. I have tried literally over 30 times to communicate with he online chat and explain the situation and explain.

3 months ago I went ahead and got the Greendot prepaid Visa credit card. After making all payments early and paying my balance off in full each time green dot decided to put a hold on my account allowing me no access to my own money. They claim the hold is because they need bank verification. So I emailed them my bank statement. This still did not fix the problem. The most recent rep that I talked to says their system flagged my most recent payment as suspicious and would need my bank to fax them proof even tho they had no problem collecting any payment from that exact account to date. So the hold my money and I can't touch it so I decide I want to close account, they then tell me it will take 8 weeks to get my 550 dollar deposit back from my account. Horrible customer service as no one could give me a straight answer in 3 different phone calls. Do not use this company. They are a joke when it comes to doing business

Money should be available sooner when depositing and also should be taken out sooner when paying bills. Some bills don't come out right away and can take up to 3 days to deposit or withdrawal and then result in funds not being available.

I Love my Green Dot Card! The only thing I Dis-like is the $10 fee every month. But other than that, I can’t think of anything negative to say! I’ve had My Green dot card (the White one) for almost a year now, I’m looking forward to the CASH-BACK next month!!

Green Dot has been my only checking account now going on 3 years. I have never had any issues with this company and find them to be extremely reliable and helpful. You couldnt ask for better Customer Service Agents as well. I would highly recommend GreenDot to anyone needing this type of checking debit account.

I love this card. It is convenient, no overdrafts, ever. No monthly fees, if you meet the requirements. This is my debit card / checking acct. I refuse to use a bank for a checking acct., I believe them to be complete rip-offs. My Green Dot card does it all.

There are so many better cheaper and straight forward options that won't take your money and leave you at the register unable to pay because they took most of money as soon as I lode or on my card after I already paid $ 4 service fee to load card. I spent 24 dollars to put the money on my card e. Wow I'm blown away. Never expected this and was mislead into applying for the card. I was under the impression it's like other prepaid cards from what I. Was I was told and that's was the only reason I agreed. To give Greed Dot a chance. But boy that was a lie. It's not free like other prepaid cards like PayPal. I was told the only cost was suppose to be to pay 3.95 to reload the card? 1 had. Paid 24.00 to load the card. After 4 dollars to load it I should have had 20.00 on the card.

I have no complaints other than customer service number. They need more English speaking representatives. Every time I call there is a language barrier. I have had Green Dot for some time now and that would be my only issue.

I was told this card will give you your direct deposit faster. All of my coworkers that get it early from other banks have got it. I keep being told they don’t see anything. I have called over 3 times. The employer says nothing changed. My old bank posted before 11 am on Wednesday. It is 7 pm and nothing.

I personally found Green Dot to be very valuable and very easy to use. I honestly can't think of a single issue while using Green Dot. I especially liked how easy the mobile app was to use, how quickly transactions showed up, and how accurate my account balance was on any day of the week day or night!!!

The problem I'm having is that it takes twelve months to get the 100 dollars you save but besides that not bad at all. Need new upgrades as far as anyone or anybody being able to use your card and finger print has to be better just as well as loading checks.

Trying to register your card is a nightmare. I bought it at Shop-rite and when I want to register the card it doesn't exist. There are no human to talk to for help and therefore you have to write to them and they do not answer.

I have been using GreenDot for 4 years and I have not had any issues with them at all. I love the app and how easy it is to use and the features of it. I have had one minor issue that was corrected when I called customer service. I would recommend them.

Very cheap to open an account and the monthly fees are small, but if you have more than 1000 dollars deposited in one month there are NO FEES! Green Dot also has an amazing app that lets you easily check your balance any time.

Green Dot works good for all my needs except when there is a charge that I need to dispute. They make you print off a sheet fill it out and mail it to them rather than the more conventional online submission. Other than that it works good for my direct deposit and online bill Payments etc..

I love the card. I think my only complaint would be I would like it to be easier to transfer from card to a bank account. I use it everywhere and all the time with zero trouble. It is super easy to deal with customer support if needed and would recommend it highly.

Green Dot is amazing. I love getting my checks early. I just wish the monthly fee was cheaper and I could use my 100$ reward sooner. I would prefer GreenDot over any other mobile banking. I've had my card for about 2yrs now. Love that I can direct deposit money to my card that typically shows up 3 days earlier than my normal paycheck. Easy to do cash reloads to my card when needed, can upload checks to my card account as well using their app. I would highly recommend to anyone.

I bought this card at Walmart, it has a telephone of customer service that you have to call after your first deposit to activate the card. I call and is a system. After the input of the card they sent you to a site thru the internet. In the site your only choice is register the card by getting all your personal information including address, cellphone, Soc. Sec, birthday, email and pin number. When you read terms you would have a ton of charges for the use of it. Including a $7.95 monthly fee. After this you would have a surprise: Your Personalized NEW DEBIT CARD AND WAIT 5 TO 7 days for your card to arrive. In that way you'll get to be charge for your first month without using it. If you try not to go that way of register then you lost everything because you are lock to their purpose of hacking your money. Without register the card no access deny on every place because you need to register first.

I purchased a Green Dot MoneyPak from 7eleven for $340.00 and could never activate the card. Received error messages and after 2 hours a message that stated my card was already processed or whatever. Needed money for rent. Contacted fraud department 6 times with supporting documents of purchase and Never Ever received any kind of response till this date. But the prepaid cards are the best.

I am writing on behalf of a friend. My friend is homeless and purchased the card in order for me to add some money to it for work he did. He paid 1.95 for the card and then added $20. We then attempted to register the card and verify his information. The information could not be verified for some reason. I attempted to contact customer service to see if they could somehow manually verify the information and I was told there was nothing he could do. That he would have to use the $20 on the card and try again. A couple days later my friend said the card was declined when he tried to use it. So I logged into the account and saw a $7.95 monthly fee charged. A fee that would have been waived if I could load $1000 which I couldn't. I pleaded with them from one human to another in hopes of helping my friend and Ashley ** just closed the chat on me.

The use of this card as a destination for my bi weekly pay has been helpful in keeping me from making overdrafts and also for overspending. I have found several local venues to add money to the card if needed and also it's convenient to withdraw from the account. By registering I've been able to use the card just like any other credit card.

Paid 1.95 for card and cannot register it to pay the bill that needed to be paid today....also the assistant manager at the store is telling me I have to see manager in am because they cannot give me my 180.00 back. Very satisfied. Been using my same card for years and I love it. I get everything to one account which makes it easier to pay my bills and do online shopping. I get my income tax deposit on my card, my child support, and my pay and I especially love the vault so when I let my kids use my card they can only use what I allow.

I really enjoy using my cards for most transactions. Only thing I don’t like is having to pay to put money on my card at retailers. I understand the business aspect of it. Just wish there was an easier way to deposit money. Like why can’t I deposit at the atm I use to withdrawal. Is it because you guys don’t have that option as a business with the banks you partner with. I have been using my Green Dot card for over 2 years and have just recently had my first real problem. After loading a MoneyPak with $495 I received an error message saying that I was over my monthly limit on that card so when I tried to load it to another card it said they detected suspicious activity and I ended up having to request a refund that will take me up to 2 weeks to receive in the mail!! I do not have money like that. That was bill money and now I am going to be in a very bad situation with 2 of my bills as I now do not have the money to pay them!! I will NEVER use any of Green Dot's services ever again!!

Purchased by accident thinking it was a gift card and then set it up with gibberish info cause I didn’t feel comfortable putting in my private info for a gift card (what I thought it was). Totally my fault on that part. However there is no way to reset this.. Was told it would take two weeks to get my refund (almost 300 dollars) and it’s been over a month since doing what I was told to get my money back. There is almost no way to reach a real person and when you do although very pleasant couldn't seem to help. Still waiting for my money.

If you're using these as a gift item, please reconsider. The card takes several arduous steps to activate, requires far too much personal information, and THEN charges 8 dollars just for the privilege of using the money that was placed on it! I lost almost 20% of the value of the card just to be able to use it, absolutely ridiculous! These stupid things are a total scam.

Purchase a GoBank card kit at Walmart. Put $400 on it on September 19th. Still have not been able to get my money off of it. From the get-go go to the correct website. Follow the instructions to a T. Immediately says my email is invalid. Still am trying to get my money off of this card and because of all the jumping around setup, activate, sign up, this and that and this and that. You going to happen all over the place I accidentally opened up an account which they sent me a Visa card. Will they close that account. I still not can activate the MasterCard and I am the most like really so tired of this and you can't get a hold of customer service because it's all automated and when you do get a hold of customer service it's someone from the Philippines. I mean this is like ridiculous. Okay I don't want to talk about my business in the Philippines okay and the same with a bunch of other companies here.

I have had a few difficult situations with Green Dot but y'all were amazing. And I just wanted to say thank you for everything y'all do. Just please make it to where people who have been with y'all get a bonus for being with y'all for so long.

Excuse me: but the truth is the truth! I purchased this Greendot pre-paid card never owned one of any kind before. At a Walgreens pharm store in Mansfield, Ohio... It was $1.95 to add money! "A one "time only fee!" that will never come again, "nor will you ever, never see, this again!" (false advertisement # 1.) I had to pay up-front at the cashier in cash only! Well I didn't have any cash on me... So she suggested I should W/D from the ATM machine... In which I asked her "how much it cost to W/D from ATM machine? She couldn't tell me... By the way the ATM is only 2ft away from her yet she doesn't (exactly know) the price to use this ATM! Yea right! It cost me $ 3.25 ATM fee to W/D just $60.00 bucks! A total of $63.25. I'm on a (limited income) and to lose any of my money! is wrong to the elderly!

I ordered the Uber pay card and it was sent to the wrong address. Green dot refused to send me a new card to my new address and won’t cancel the card they sent to the wrong house because I don’t know what the address to the house I don’t live in is. So now I’m stuck in limbo and I have to empty my account every few hours to make sure no one steals my pay for the day. Not impressed and wouldn’t recommend.

So I’ve had Green Dot for A while now. But just recently used it for my job to do direct deposit for my paycheck. I was suppose to get paid yesterday. I have called the company and chat with them online for the past two days. They requested a trace number. My job has even talked to a supervisor to inform them there is no trace number. I am not getting any answers on when I am getting paid. I am a single mother with kids. My rent is due along with other bills including my power bill. My landlord has informed me if he doesn’t get the money by the 5 of this month he would have to evict us for nonpayment. I would never recommended green dot to anyone especially using them for a direct deposit from your job. I have had no help in this matter from green dot. When asked for a corporate phone number or a someone that can help I get hung up on

App/website no longer has option to submit an amount and check number to write a check. My landlord only accepts checks and I have to get a money order from somewhere else now. Why still offer the option to order checks if you can't write them??

Bought a card at Rite Aid and tried to register online. They never gave me a code to my phone and NO live person to talk to and BS with your ss number. I think they're a fraud. I paid and nothing, what a scam. Going back to Rite Aid but I think they'll blow me off. I'm going to a local tv station and contact their fraud line.

I really like the Green Dot bank. Everything about it is so easy. I like to be left alone a lot and they make useing this card convenient. Keep up the good work Green Dot. I have had them for about a year and they have not let me down. Payroll is especially easy.

I like having Green Dot a lot. My card functions just like a checking account, which I love. I can even have my employer direct deposit my paychecks to it. I can also do check cashing electronically with this account, which is great. There’s a lot of possibilities. And I handle all my banking on my cellphone this way. They don’t give me any hassle. And $10 a month isn’t too bad of a fee for all of that I don’t think. So that’s why I like this option.

I've had my Green Dot card for nearly a year, and have had no problems at all. I use it primarily to shop online, rent movies, the vending machine at work, or small recurring payments. Since many businesses and creditors don't accept prepaid card payments, I do have a traditional bank account. But I would Green Dot to anyone for any reason. Thank you.
