    I really like my Green Dot account and card especially the part where I can get rewards after 12 months of using it. The only problem I have is it's been 8 months. I'm in my 8 months but yet they still say I'm in my 7th month and have to get five more months instead of four more months to get my money. Can you please explain that. Other than that I don't have a problem with Green Dot. I love it.

    My experience has been good, mostly painless. The one thing that becomes a determent is not being able to use to card for sending money like I could with a debit card, such as facebook payments. Or some streaming services, like Netflix. I will more than likely switch to an actual bank after tax season in order to be able to use those features. The other thing is ATM fees. I understand this is a free card Green Dot needs to offer a place where we can withdraw at a lower fee.

    Green Dot is actually the best card for me. It never lets me overdraw my account. Not only that but my direct deposits hit fast. As well as the chance to earn cashback.     It should be a set time when direct deposits should be posted. I’m very unhappy with the times my funds are available and it’s very difficult, inconvenience, and unorganized. Please do better for future customers using your services. This past holiday season was the worse outta all the years I’ve been using Green Dot Bank.     I’ve been informed that when taking money from an atm there is no charge, however every time I withdraw money there is an additional fee. Also I feel as though the monthly charge of $9.95 is kind of a burden. Especially when you don’t have the money on your account and it is still taken, and if you didn’t have enough money a negative balance is placed on your card.

    I was supposed to receive my payroll direct deposit on 1/10/20 and did not. It is now 2 days later and still have yet to receive it. Upon looking around online there appears to be dozens and dozens of people with the same issue. Upon calling their customer service I am directed to a call center where all they are capable of doing is stating their scripted answers. They told me to contact my employer which I already had and the money had been sent as it as been for the 4+ years to the same routing / account number. Never with issue those 4 years. They state that they are unaware of any problem with their system but based on all the comments I've found on a variety of websites it is clear there is an issue. I'm in dire need of my payroll and I am uncertain when or if I shall receive it.

    My experience with Green Dot is better than any bank that I've used. I was working at Kroger and Green Dot was the best option for me for direct deposit. I did get my checks earlier than when I used to and I've been using Green Dot ever since. One benefit is the convenience and for about a year now, I've also been able to secure my finances with the whole Vault system thing with the app, where I'm able to actually put money away and keep it where I'm not able to spend it right away. The representatives are also always easy to deal with. They are really friendly people and they always get down to the root issue. I had a charge before that I had to dispute and I was able to get results pretty easily.

    I bought this card before Christmas for my son. We've been trying to activate it for weeks and we keep getting the message: "Sorry! We are facing some technical difficulties, please try again later." We called customer service at Walmart and Green Dot and they keep sending us some cookie cutter instructions that don't work. We've tried different search engines, we cleared cache and cookies, tried different computers, phones and it keeps saying the same message. This is a problem on their end but they keep saying it's our problem. Would like to just get a refund. I regret ever using this card. Would like someone to contact me and really help me solve this without copying and pasting their only unworkable instructions.

    I feel it makes no sense that when you purchase a Green Dot card you're not allowed to do anything with the card except swipe. You can’t transfer money or withdraw from ATM. That’s really convenient, especially if you have money on the card and there is nothing you can do but wait for the “personalized card” to come in the mail. Try and contact someone to track the card and of course you can never get into contact with anyone. I just want to be able to take off MY Money and make my purchases as needed without all the backlash. I would NOT Recommend this card to ANYONE. The app is ok I guess. I like the lock card feature. Would be nice if I could ACTUALLY Use it though.

    On December 31st 2019 I rented a car. The amount taken out of my account was $338.16 and additional $75 was taken out of my account by Green Dot. When I called Green Dot to verify that amount I was told that they pre-authorize an additional $75 which brought the total to $413.16 and that whenever you rent a car they will do pre-authorizations but when your transactions are completed my $75 would be returned back to my account. The rental was returned 01/02/2020 and the rental car company returned my $200 deposit the next day 01/03/2020 but the $75 was never refunded back to my account. The representatives see the the $413.16 transaction but don't know what happened to the $75. Instead they keep giving me reference and dispute number. I am disable and on a fixed income and would hate to hear that the card my direct deposit comes on scam me for $75. This is wrong. Can you please check this.

    When I got Green Dot, I was a little surprised that I didn't get my checks early enough and I was getting them all at the same time as I usually do. It doesn't really matter to me if I get them two days early though. But hopefully, one day soon they’ll update and get chips on their card. I don't even have my card though. My baby momma is there in Texas and I gave it to her. I got the Samsung Pay and use Green Dot on my phone. I also have CashTrack on and any time you swipe it or use it, you get cash. It changes after a year of using the card and you’ll get that cash from your card. Green Dot doesn't charge you a lot of fees and they got a cashback, rewards thing. The monthly fee is cool because it works and they don’t charge me any hidden fees. I know everywhere I take it, which is a good thing. With it, I’m not getting robbed at any place. It’s one of the very best that I've used.

    Like a few others before me, I’ve also fallen victim to the “You have exceeded the number of Moneypak deposit attempts allowed in one day” and now have no way of receiving the money I’ve loaded to the moneypak and that I am so desperately in need of. I’m shaking. I’m so furious right now. When something like the Moneypak is generally used for emergency situations and for them to allow something like this to occur without ANY way of contacting other speaking with a live human being is beyond me?! Of course you’re able to fill out their help form, but they say that it WILL BE 24 HOURS BEFORE THEY GET BACK TO YOU! if I had 24 hours to spare I wouldn’t have needed to use the Moneypak!

    They steal your money by never sending your replacement card if you lose it. I ordered a replacement card in the first week of December after my wallet was stolen. I waited two weeks and it never came. I called customer service and was told that a new one would be expedited to me and guess what? That was 11 days ago. I was forced to halt all my direct deposits because I can only assume they are trying to steal people's money by never sending out replacement cards.

    I got a Green Dot prepaid card for Christmas and registered the card only to find there was a negative balance of 30 dollars. Apparently when I was given a prepaid Green Dot card as a gift a year ago it has been gathering fees all this time. I had no idea because I just thought it was prepaid, that my Mom paid a certain amount of money on it as a gift for me. Had I known that I would've canceled the card from a year ago. I just didn't think to read all the "fine print". Now I have to tell my Mom that not only is my balance -30 but I couldn't even use the new one as a gift. I will tell her and everyone I know to never use Green Dot as a gift card. This is a rip off.

    I'm very disappointed in this card because the only thing I did was going to the store purchase a GreenDot card. Ask the cashier to load $80 on the card. Went to my car to try to access the card but could not reach the cord I don't. Call over a hundred times talking to customer service at Green. They gave me a case number. My case number is **.     I bought an unlimited card to do my Christmas shopping online. Put 400.00 on it. I got the regular card and registered it. I tried to make a purchase on Amazon and it was denied. I called the number on the back and they said it wasn't fully registered. That I had to go online or through the appt or call and fully register it. So I tried and tried and have been trying for 2 weeks and it keeps telling me. Sorry! We are facing some technical difficulties, please try again later.

    I have called several times and it seems nobody can help me. I called today and they said the technical dept would get in touch with me. But that is what they told me last time and it never happened. I can't believe this nightmare. Our Christmas was ruined because of it. We are not rich and every dollar is important. When that money was withheld, I had no funds to replace it and still are no closer to getting help!! So I would say under no circumstances buy this card and expect good customer service!!!!

    Pure trash. Bought the card yesterday. Loaded it with $50. They charged the monthly fee. I only spent about $20, get on there today and the balance says -$15. Customer service tried telling me I was being charged with 2 monthly fees, even after explaining to them that I just bought the card yesterday, I even offered to provide proof. I have the receipt and the email they Sent me after activating the card yesterday. Then they delete my account. Don’t waste your money on them. They have millions of bad review. They are thieves.

    A prepaid debit card is a bank account, but if there is not much funds in there and it gets lost, nobody can do anything with it. So, I basically use my Green Dot for purchases online versus using my bank card online. Making purchases online went through well every time, and it is a little bit better than what PayPal does. I like its convenience.

    Some of my bills have gotten to the point where they want to connect it to a specific account as far as paying one bill, and I can make sure there is enough in there to cover the phone bill when it is coming. I do not have to worry about having written a check against what was in there, and then all of a sudden, they shut me off because I had not paid them. My phone bill and my car insurance are what gets paid, besides taking care of my eBay account. The direct deposit options takes care of my phone bill and my car insurance comes out of my paycheck and gets put into that account. That way, I do not even see it.

    One of the cash machines that I use every once in a while gets frustrated with me because it wants it to have a chip on it, and mine is old enough that it does not have it. I was kinda hoping to have a chip when I got the new card, but it did not. There has been one instance where they had to manually put it in. So, it was an inconvenience for the manager, but they got it through okay.

    Green Dot banking was not helpful when I filed a dispute on transactions I did not make. I call every day to make sure I sent everything to prove I didn't make the transaction. I got no updates on the dispute. I was told I would receive an email which never happened. They just kept saying it's under review. No more no less. $778 was taken and I need answers. My dispute was denied. I tried calling because today to see why the dispute was denied. They did not answer from my phone number. So I use someone else phone to call they answer but still didn't give me an legit reason why my dispute was denied.

    I've had this card for 3 months. My last two paychecks have been late and this paycheck I haven't even received. I got my paystub and should get paid the next day. Lies. It's going on 24 hours. There's no free atms and it's basically false advertising.     I reloaded money in the sum of $160 Friday. It never loaded. I have the receipt that says it was loaded. I call like 6 times a day and they say everyday call back the next day. They keep requesting documents then when I send them they act like I didn't. I finally got a few people that confirmed they got the documents though when I called back they tried to pretend I had not sent them again. That was my Christmas money. My issue is not resolved still and they stole my money. I have seen multiple others who have this same issue with them. Exercise caution in dealing with this company. Do not load anything you can't afford to lose.

    Updated on 12/28/2019: So I was asked by a Green Dot rep to send the info regarding the can't verify your identity which when I called them to talk about this issue he had all my info right and didn't see anything in his system so he said that would hold me back from getting a regular card. Well my paycheck is still in limbo and hopefully I get it by next week lol. I think they should pay me being that I'm a single mom of 4 kids and scrapping change just to get to work. Their name is on your product and sold in their store. So I email for help 'cause you can't reach a live person and I get seems to be automatic emails generic to say the least. My money should have been there already. Now who knows when I will get paid. I'm calling a lawyer. They are liars and fraudulent.

    My employer sends my direct deposits on time and even processed same-day ACH on Friday Dec 20th, it is now 1pm on Monday Dec 23rd and I have not received my direct deposit yet. Chat customer service is useless and sends the same robotic messages over and over. I do not trust this company and I do not recommend them especially if you need your direct deposits on time.     Having the card is easier than keeping the cash at home. Even my bills are linked with it, too. They get my direct deposit there. I don’t really have to do anything anymore. And I get paid early, so that’s nice. I get paid on a Wednesday normally, and I get it on a Tuesday early morning. Some direct deposits I get late, like 7 p.m. This one I get like 12 o’clock in the morning, so that’s nice. But I don’t like how they have to charge for every withdrawal when I want cash. So, if I swipe and it was a $50 purchase and I only have $20 in my card, it’ll decline it even though I have the other $30 in my stash box. I like it. And as for the direct deposit, I get them a day early.

    However, reloading the card was a process the first time I did it. It made me never wanna put money on it again because of how long it took. I went to a Cumberland Farms ‘cause that’s where the app told me one of the spots were. They had the cards there, but didn’t really say they were the reload cards. So, the lady wasn’t understanding, and wasn’t getting it. Then, she was asking other people that were there. They weren’t able to figure it out and didn’t even know that I could put money on it. It wasn't a thrilling experience. But other than that, I enjoy the card. If somebody doesn’t want a bank account like me, I would definitely tell them to do Green Dot.

    I can't believe I am writing this review. I have NEVER had a problem until today. My DD did not hit and I asked what was going on. I was told it was delayed but could not tell me why. I asked when I will receive my money and was told "sometime today". Mind you, I am sitting in the doctor's office and can't pay.     Good but lacks in customer service and consistency. Great card for banking other than the lack of being able to contact customer service except through text, and inconsistency in deposit times. Sometimes my check is available at 4 am. Sometimes not until 10 am so you can’t make plans accordingly due to unreliable timing. The 400$ withdrawal is too low and has caused me to have to jump through hoops to pay my rent.

    Most of my friends on Facebook had Green Dot and I always got these pop advertisements. So, I tried it out. I was using it to pay bills and stuff. I had my direct deposit going there, which I got a day earlier. But then I had to switch it over to the credit union. I switched my direct deposit is because I'm a veteran and I'm getting a VA loan, so I had to go to Navy Federal Credit Union to do that.     I got this card so I could use it for direct deposit with my job. I read the terms and conditions and saw that as long as your deposits totaled over $1000 monthly the service fee would be waived. That has not happened. I've been charged each month for the service fee. My direct deposits are well over the required amount. I've called customer service several times and got different answers each time. No one seems to know what they are doing. The latest I was told is that I have to SPEND $1000 each month to get the fee waived. That is not what I was told when I signed up for the card. I don't like the deceptive practices that are being used and the extremely inept customer service that do not help. I'm extremely disappointed in this product and am actively searching for a better prepaid card. I would not recommend this card to anyone!

    Updated on 12/18/2019: So, after Green Dot “blocking” any and all access to my card for a total of approximately 7 calendar days I finally receive a call back from their corporate office. What they say to me is that they need yet another receipt from me proving a credit to my account. I’ve already sent them 3 receipts, my state ID, as well as my Social Security card and apparently those aren’t good enough. I have literally spent 6-8+ hours trying to gain access to $ that is mine to begin with. This is absurd. The corporate reps phone call did give me a glimmer of hope on getting me my money though. We’ll see....Fingers crossed.

I made two separate deposits of $997.00 and green dot decides to put a hold onto my account. They say they need copies of receipts so I sent them and yet Green Dot is still holding (stealing) my $ from me. Anytime I talk to customer service via text I get told to call # on card and the reps on the phone are complete robots not knowing what’s going on at all. What they say doesn’t even make actual sense. I keep getting told “sir, wait for the solution and it will be ok to use your card.” So, when my kids get no Xmas presents this year am I supposed to just tell them “just wait for The solution, kids”?     A few weeks ago I noticed 3 transactions made from my account adding up to over $700 that I did not make. I took direct action and called the number I was told to call but I was unable to get ahold of an actual person so I took a different route by filing a dispute form online only to wait for what seemed like 2 weeks for it to be resolved only to be told that my dispute was denied. I did not make those transactions and I'm considering taking legal action against Green Dot Bank for not giving me my hard earned money that was stolen from me back.

    So I've had the Turbo prepaid card for 10 months. The only good thing about this card is that you receive your money sooner than your pay date. I had three or four fraudulent charges on my card near the holidays and this was the first time this has ever happened to me in my life. I reported the charges and I was told I would receive a refund. Then week later I was told they decided not to refund me my money back and they had no further information for me. The charges were in Florida and I live in Virginia. I don't know why or how they would decide it's ok for me to be robbed and I'm a single mom. Every dollar counts. I will never use this bank service again.

    I had made a purchase at an online site named ILottery. There was a deal that I would be refunded 20% of my total Purchase price or Max of 250 if the investment did not go in my favor, meaning the virtual scratch card game “Grumpy-Cat”. Well when it was all said and done ILottery did not refund my account with 20% of total purchase or $250. I had spent around $600 entering into that agreement with ILottery. So after numerous emails chats I was left with no choice but to claim it with GreenDot since I use this card to pay for it, I put a claim in on the grounds that I did not get what I purchase when ILottery did not held their end of the service agreement. When ILottery breaches their contractual agreement by not giving me the cashback as promised. I am entitle to all my money back!

    But “my credit card company” GreenDot sides with ILottery and did not provide me with the buyer protection GreenDot claimed that they offer! ILottery scammed me my $600 and GreenDot backed them up! I even provided the emailed chats I had with ILottery’s. Chat support , which an agent informed me that I would be getting the 250 cash back 3 business days after the promotion has ended. This chat took place on a Sunday the same time the grumpty cat promo ended. So I waited till Thursday and that’s when ILottery’s chat supports word started to change. And each chat afterwards it changed a little bit more and then instead of the 250 I was awarded 5.00.

    Still as of today I have not touch or cashed in on that. Green dot is aware of all this. Some reps agree I should get money back. And some have a hard time understanding English. Something like this should not happen. I mean really. Green Dot has become a bully enabler. This bully being ILottery whom does not honor there posted ads. To be clear ILottery is Pennsylvania state run lottery which there is an app for.

    When I first sign up 7 months ago...Green Dot advertised a cash back rewards for this particular card for up to $250 cash back for purchases made within 12 months. The monthly fee is 9.95/month for this card program. As of December 1st, 2019 I accrued close to $170 cash back for 7 months as tracked by GreenDot and displayed on my account online. Upon checking it today it’s now displayed I only have $77 cash back thus far for 7 months of 12. I immediately contact GreenDot and now the representative said GDot only offer up to 100 now! Is this even legal for GreenDot to do? They took my money every month for the last 7 months for the fees to use this card and now they will not honor their end of the agreement! Scammed me out of my cashback rewards money of $170 thus far!

    I ordered a replacement card on 11/19/2019. They charged me a $5 replacement card fee. I was told it would take 7 business days. I did not receive it before Thanksgiving. Me and family did not have food to eat. I called them on Black Friday because it still had not come. They showed it had been delivered. I waited until Monday thinking it was just slow mail because of the holidays. Monday came - still no card.

    I called on Monday and requested for a card to be expedited. I was told they would charge me $15 and I would get it in 3 business days. Still no card. I called today (Wednesday December 4th). This time they said I would have it on Friday, and this was the third card they sent. I checked my account and they literally JUST charged added another $5 card replacement fee! Does that mean they are just now sending the card?

    Needless to say I have no food, no money, and my landlord is in the process of serving me with an eviction notice. Their customer service team is outsourced to India. The crazy part is, their headquarters is located in Pasadena, CA and I live in San Diego, CA. So I’ve been literally starving and they could have gotten a card to me in a day! This is soooo ridiculous. How do they get away with this. My employer has processed two direct deposits during this time frame, which I cannot access.

    I have had a Greendot card which I only used once in a while. I recently made it my only bank card. I lost my card and called for an expedited card and was told it would cost me up to 7.00 to get a card in three days. The customer service representative was supposed to have changed my address as I recently moved. She said she did but sent the card by FedEx to my old address and when I called Fedex they said the card was shipped back to origin because the shipper had not given the correct address. Did not get it. I called and the person who stated they would send another one and it would be here in three days but when I called to check the automated system told me I would get it the 9th which is five days.

    I made several calls and wasted 3-4 hours trying to get problem solved to no avail even after telling them their mistake is going to cost me 100 dollars in late charges on rent and electric and my water was now in jeopardy of being turned off all due to their mistake and I was told there was nothing they could do about that. Even though it was their employee's mistake I will have to pay extra money to satisfy my bills and hope that I'm not in the dark, food rotting in fridge, cold, no heat and even though I made 4/5 calls nothing was done to help my situation or replace any money. It's an online bank that couldn't even transfer my monies to a different card, I was also hung up on two occasions while trying to solve the issue.

    I would never ever in life use green dot services again and would not recommend them to anyone.No reimbursement on money I had to pay for 3 day expedited card. I also had to make many many many calls with no resolution and a flat out statement that they would not be returning any funds in shipping I paid and wouldn't even try to send me another card or transfer money from the account I had to a new green dot card if I purchased a new one.

    I've really had no bad experience with my Visa card. I bought the GreenDot card when my regular bank account visa card got hacked into, so I was told to buy a reload card when I travel, which I travel a lot. Even though I use the card to travel it still got hacked, but it was easier getting the money refunded by Greendot than dealing with my bank. Everyone that eats in a restaurant ends up getting their card hacked. I do wish it was a different color, I don't want people to know that it's a re-load card.     Website would not allow info about how to bank transfer. Tried the app and was able to get the information. Tried talking to reps on the website chat. Was amazed at how little help these people were. I started 5 chats. This fifth person gave me a case number. The next day Green Dot called. When I answered I tried to explain that this card is for my son who has autism. I told this person that he doesn't talk on the phone but we could get him to confirm his SS. Yes he's an adult but his communication is poor. I monitor the card for him. I want to transfer money from my account on to the card with his name on it so he can purchase things online. I said she would have to talk to me. She seemed confused but asked him to authorize that could talk for him. So I said ok and we were waiting for her to ask him to authorize this very thing.

    She then froze and became unresponsive and I kept saying, Ma'am what do you need from him??" We finally told him to say "yes I authorize." She finally said she was not going to say anything. I couldn't believe it. Once he said that she then hung up. Twice more that day we got two call backs. One hung up before I could answer. The other one I said hello and my husband said hello and got hung up on. Are these reps being educated by greendot on how to effectively speak to people?? It doesn't seem like it. The chat was a mess because they didn't seem to know about simple banking. I also thought that they were not supposed to hang up on you until the situation was rectified.

    I purchased my Green Dot Visa card at a local Walmart in Plano, TX the day before Thanksgiving. I had the customer service rep at Walmart Load my card and afterwards, I stood their to try and activate it because it was my first time. Well, after 30 minutes it still would not activate. I left and allowed a few hours and tried again. Still didn't work. I went back to Walmart and they told me it was out of their hands and to contact Green Dot. I have tried literally over 30 times to communicate with he online chat and explain the situation and explain.

    They keep telling me to contact the 1866 # which I have over 30 times and I never can get anyone because it won't allow me to because it keeps saying my card # is invalid. I am starting to believe that this is a scam because I have told the people on the chat to have someone to call me and no one ever has.     3 months ago I went ahead and got the Greendot prepaid Visa credit card. After making all payments early and paying my balance off in full each time green dot decided to put a hold on my account allowing me no access to my own money. They claim the hold is because they need bank verification. So I emailed them my bank statement. This still did not fix the problem. The most recent rep that I talked to says their system flagged my most recent payment as suspicious and would need my bank to fax them proof even tho they had no problem collecting any payment from that exact account to date. So the hold my money and I can't touch it so I decide I want to close account, they then tell me it will take 8 weeks to get my 550 dollar deposit back from my account. Horrible customer service as no one could give me a straight answer in 3 different phone calls. Do not use this company. They are a joke when it comes to doing business

    There are so many better cheaper and straight forward options that won't take your money and leave you at the register unable to pay because they took most of money as soon as I lode or on my card after I already paid $ 4 service fee to load card. I spent 24 dollars to put the money on my card e. Wow I'm blown away. Never expected this and was mislead into applying for the card. I was under the impression it's like other prepaid cards from what I. Was I was told and that's was the only reason I agreed. To give Greed Dot a chance. But boy that was a lie. It's not free like other prepaid cards like PayPal. I was told the only cost was suppose to be to pay 3.95 to reload the card? 1 had. Paid 24.00 to load the card. After 4 dollars to load it I should have had 20.00 on the card.

    I only made 2 purchases. 1st 1 was for .99 cents. The second was for $ 3.?? And some change. So I was robbed and left looking a fool when my card declined for incitement funds after only spending $ 4 and some change. How embarrassing and what a fool they made of me. I will not reload ever again unless something's are changed and I get my money back. I will be sure to pass this info on to the Better Business Bureau if I don't get my money returned. If resolved I will change MY rating. Utterly Disgusted, Kelly **.

    I bought this card at Walmart, it has a telephone of customer service that you have to call after your first deposit to activate the card. I call and is a system. After the input of the card they sent you to a site thru the internet. In the site your only choice is register the card by getting all your personal information including address, cellphone, Soc. Sec, birthday, email and pin number. When you read terms you would have a ton of charges for the use of it. Including a $7.95 monthly fee. After this you would have a surprise: Your Personalized NEW DEBIT CARD AND WAIT 5 TO 7 days for your card to arrive. In that way you'll get to be charge for your first month without using it. If you try not to go that way of register then you lost everything because you are lock to their purpose of hacking your money. Without register the card no access deny on every place because you need to register first.

    I am writing on behalf of a friend. My friend is homeless and purchased the card in order for me to add some money to it for work he did. He paid 1.95 for the card and then added $20. We then attempted to register the card and verify his information. The information could not be verified for some reason. I attempted to contact customer service to see if they could somehow manually verify the information and I was told there was nothing he could do. That he would have to use the $20 on the card and try again. A couple days later my friend said the card was declined when he tried to use it. So I logged into the account and saw a $7.95 monthly fee charged. A fee that would have been waived if I could load $1000 which I couldn't.     I am totally frustrated right now, I purchased a card to pay a bill and now my card can not be validated?? Excuse me I loaded card with 180.00.     I really enjoy using my cards for most transactions. Only thing I don’t like is having to pay to put money on my card at retailers. I understand the business aspect of it. Just wish there was an easier way to deposit money. Like why can’t I deposit at the atm I use to withdrawal. Is it because you guys don’t have that option as a business with the banks you partner with.     I have been using my Green Dot card for over 2 years and have just recently had my first real problem. After loading a MoneyPak with $495 I received an error message saying that I was over my monthly limit on that card so when I tried to load it to another card it said they detected suspicious activity and I ended up having to request a refund that will take me up to 2 weeks to receive in the mail!! I do not have money like that. That was bill money and now I am going to be in a very bad situation with 2 of my bills as I now do not have the money to pay them!! I will NEVER use any of Green Dot's services ever again!!

    Purchased by accident thinking it was a gift card and then set it up with gibberish info cause I didn’t feel comfortable putting in my private info for a gift card (what I thought it was). Totally my fault on that part. However there is no way to reset this.. Was told it would take two weeks to get my refund (almost 300 dollars) and it’s been over a month since doing what I was told to get my money back. There is almost no way to reach a real person and when you do although very pleasant couldn't seem to help. Still waiting for my money.

    If you're using these as a gift item, please reconsider. The card takes several arduous steps to activate, requires far too much personal information, and THEN charges 8 dollars just for the privilege of using the money that was placed on it! I lost almost 20% of the value of the card just to be able to use it, absolutely ridiculous! These stupid things are a total scam.

    Purchase a GoBank card kit at Walmart. Put $400 on it on September 19th. Still have not been able to get my money off of it. From the get-go go to the correct website. Follow the instructions to a T. Immediately says my email is invalid. Still am trying to get my money off of this card and because of all the jumping around setup, activate, sign up, this and that and this and that. You going to happen all over the place I accidentally opened up an account which they sent me a Visa card. Will they close that account. I still not can activate the MasterCard and I am the most like really so tired of this and you can't get a hold of customer service because it's all automated and when you do get a hold of customer service it's someone from the Philippines. I mean this is like ridiculous. Okay I don't want to talk about my business in the Philippines okay and the same with a bunch of other companies here.

    Lately Google, SunTrust Bank I mean they're directing all these calls to Philippines. I mean they're Outsourcing customers service calls to the Philippines and it's all automated and you can't get through to talk to a customer service. Anyhow I'm about to go to the CEO of Green. Because I have had it I want my money. I want my card activated. It keeps saying email invalid and I got to talk to you a human person two times since September 19th. Let's see technical support was supposed to call me back. What you never did on numerous occasions. I have called Clark Howard and I got them investigating this. I mean this is totally a fraudulent company if you ask me because I still can't get my money.

    Why can't they just totally cancel out all my information from the count that was accidentally open because of all the BS of hopping around 2:50 different damn websites to sign up besides the fact that I'd follow the instructions perfectly in first thing invalid email. I want to talk to a live person. I want this matter resolved since September 19th. Give me a break. I want my freaking money and I'm tired of damn waiting and can't get through to nobody. I want this matter resolved or I'm going to the Federal Bureau Investigation besides the Better Business Bureau besides whoever. New Station I can talk to you because this card and Company totally unacceptable and I will never ever put my money on a Green Dot card ever again. It was only a temporary solution to the situation I had but not only cause my rent to be late, my electric almost to be shut off, etc., etc., etc. which is still ongoing. I want this matter resolved today

    Excuse me: but the truth is the truth! I purchased this Greendot pre-paid card never owned one of any kind before. At a Walgreens pharm store in Mansfield, Ohio... It was $1.95 to add money! "A one "time only fee!" that will never come again, "nor will you ever, never see, this again!" (false advertisement # 1.) I had to pay up-front at the cashier in cash only! Well I didn't have any cash on me... So she suggested I should W/D from the ATM machine... In which I asked her "how much it cost to W/D from ATM machine? She couldn't tell me... By the way the ATM is only 2ft away from her yet she doesn't (exactly know) the price to use this ATM! Yea right! It cost me $ 3.25 ATM fee to W/D just $60.00 bucks! A total of $63.25. I'm on a (limited income) and to lose any of my money! is wrong to the elderly!

    The cashier neither the manager knew nothing about this card! How it worked nor what it could do! Yet they informed me it was the best card to purchase! I've had nothing but trouble trying to (activate) this dang card! I did everything: called Ph No. on my receipt 1(888)244-7589 even got on-line to register the card! Even down-loaded the greendot app! To no avail! So I called the Ph No: on back of the card 1(866)795-7597... To no avail! Called Ph number, after Ph number! To absolutely no avail! No customer service to talk to live... Only a in-human recording! (Excuse me!) But that is so un-professional for a multi-billion company...

    Who does this unto our elderly residents in American who have paid our taxes worked all of our lives... Then to have you un-grateful whipper snappers lead us thru all this frustrating and mess! Just to get a pre-paid card? (I'm done!) You can take this: (green dot card) and put it where (the sun don't shine!) I will never ever purchase this green dot card never again! I will file a class action lawsuit against this immature company! You can not and will get away from ripping off the public!

    I ordered the Uber pay card and it was sent to the wrong address. Green dot refused to send me a new card to my new address and won’t cancel the card they sent to the wrong house because I don’t know what the address to the house I don’t live in is. So now I’m stuck in limbo and I have to empty my account every few hours to make sure no one steals my pay for the day. Not impressed and wouldn’t recommend.

    So I’ve had Green Dot for A while now. But just recently used it for my job to do direct deposit for my paycheck. I was suppose to get paid yesterday. I have called the company and chat with them online for the past two days. They requested a trace number. My job has even talked to a supervisor to inform them there is no trace number. I am not getting any answers on when I am getting paid. I am a single mother with kids. My rent is due along with other bills including my power bill. My landlord has informed me if he doesn’t get the money by the 5 of this month he would have to evict us for nonpayment. I would never recommended green dot to anyone especially using them for a direct deposit from your job. I have had no help in this matter from green dot. When asked for a corporate phone number or a someone that can help I get hung up on

    I like the features of the “Green Dot MoneyCard” but I’m highly disappointed and upset. This account was just used as a bridge till I opened my normal bank account in my hometown I moved back to. GreenDot “claims” they release funds 2-4 days early. BULL!! I called the US Treasury 310 and the Veterans Administration and they send all pensions and benefits on the 19th and 23rd. I had American Express Serve and you would get the funds 4-5 days earlier. I found that GreenDot is holding my funds because of how much my pension is. What’s the point of having this card if they’re going to hold it like a normal bank. Thanks for nothing.

    I like having Green Dot a lot. My card functions just like a checking account, which I love. I can even have my employer direct deposit my paychecks to it.     I have been using Green Dot for over 5 years now. I'd never had a problem until the past 4 or 5 months. It seems like the direct deposit system is flawed. The deposits are always late. I'm unable to get a "live" operator to speak with. I depend on my paychecks and payday is usually my only day off. I generally do all of my shopping while my kids are in school. The delayed deposits really mess the day up. Today I'm on vacation and have no deposit again. The first email response I received stated it was my employer. Now they respond and say it's a delayed system. How can they advertise rapid deposits 2 days early yet they can't even deposit on time?

    Well where to begin.. I had my HR department set up funds to get to my 2 accounts for myself and my fiancé. We were going to use these cards to really try to have joint funds before our wedding. Fast forward to now and the direct deposit has been taken out of my job properly but NO FUNDS ARE ON ANY OF MY ACCOUNTS. I have $600 missing in the hands of Green Dot and every time I ask their support how much longer until my direct deposit hits they say “We can’t see pending deposits”. What a load of crap.

    I want my funds back and I’m cutting these cards sadly 3 weeks after getting them. People, listen to me and don’t use Green Dot if you want your money. Something about this whole thing feels scammish from the customer service to the early 2 day direct deposit advertising. Oh yea I work for a major Telecom company and I have proof the funds were taken out of pay and sent to my 2 green dot accounts but NOTHING SHOWING IN GREEN DOT.

    I initially thought that this bank would be a viable option for deposit. My first and only live paper check from my new employer. I figured since I was using Green Dot for all my other payrolls to be D.Deposited. I shouldn't have much issue. Once I went thru the process of submitting my 1st live paper check from my new employer, which I waited 3 weeks to get, for mobile check deposit. Foolishly I believe that making the mobile deposit would be a breeze. Anything but, After uploading my check. I was told they would review and reach out in 2 bus. days. And not to mentioned that was almost unbearable being that I really needed/still need my funds.

    Then I got an email and was told basically that it would be a WEEK, before I would see the funds. At this point I'm completely MORTIFIED! I Called customer care, and their agents are completely outsourced, rude, and poorly trained. I'm completely broke and 1000% displeased with this bank and honestly at the point wouldn't be able to recommend Green Dot to anyone. I sincerely hope my funds are released soon. As for now. I will NOT be a using Green Dot for my employer'S Direct Deposit.

    I have had other bank accounts with other banks. My most recent one was a credit union. The way that it can take up to 48 hours for transactions to post, it would cause me to overdraft my account no matter how close I kept my records. So I would pay fees upon fees.     This is the most terrible debit card ever, the worst customer service in the world. I have a purchase for over $3000 from a company that cancelled it the same day, 2 weeks later and the money is still pending on Green Dot's end. I've contacted both Green Dot and the purchasing company and they told me it was cancelled/even sent me a cancellation invoice when I asked for it. So why has no one from Green Dot contacted them 2 weeks later to release my money? This is ridiculous, I'll be cancelling this card as soon as my money is returned.
