    On September 8th 2023 my Walmart money card app got hacked and they took $500 dollars from my account and then on September 14th 2023 less than a week later they took another $500 dollars out of my account while I was at work. Then I got a call from Walmart money card and it asked me if I changed my password and I said NO so I called Walmart money card and I disputed the 2 transactions and they told me they would send me 2 separate checks in the mail ,1 for my remaining balance in my account and 1 for the money taken out of my account (total of $1000 dollars taken out), said it would be 7-10 business days to get remaining balance.

    It's been 3 weeks now and that the investigation would take 90 days and then they would send me the $1000 dollars that was stolen from me. I called them as soon as the 7-10 days passed and now they are saying I won't receive any of my money until after the investigation which takes 90 days and I need my money for bills. I even contacted BBB.

    I've had a greendot card for almost 15 years and have never gone through anything like this. Just like thousands of others, my account was hacked or there was a glitch with fraudulent charges on the account August 5th 2023. They cancelled my card. Said they were sending a new one. That was August 5th!!! I just received a card that actually works on September 14th!!!!! To say that my life is in complete and utter ruins is an understatement. I'm probably going to get evicted with my 2 children because my rent, which was in the account, was weeks late because I couldn't get my money.

    I missed multiple days of work because I had no gas money, I had to borrow money from a loan shark with over 300% APR because I have children that need food to eat. Not to mention that leading up to this I was already way behind on everything and can't afford to live just like everyone else in this country because of the Traitor in Office and his puppet regime. So I'm just trying to get the word out so no one ever uses their services again and hopefully they will go out of business, If anyone has any idea if there are any lawyers that might be taking a case please announce it. Lastly the money stolen from my account still has not been put back. Never again. I'm praying for each and every one of you that has had to go through this because I know how devastated my life is. And I know I'm sadly not the only one.

    Words can't describe how horrible this bank is. It's been couple months since they locked my card and won't give me my money which is a few hundred dollars. Several emails back and forth everyday and keep saying the same thing, "We apologize for the inconvenience caused. We’re sorry to know your card hasn’t arrived!" With no results. This is unheard of. It's like they want you to give up so they can keep your money. Hold time on the phone 45mins or longer for them to tell you more lies like your card is on the way and you never receive it and the only way you have access to your money is to receive the card and activate it. I have never been more frustrated in my life. Now I know what fraud feels like.

    I have had this card for a long time and recently got a charge to bed bath for $95 in a different state. I called the customer service & they told me I have to send in a dispute form and I did and then I went back to the account to check the date and it disappears on record. Good thing I took a screenshot of it and a screenshot when it was taken off and the math doesn't add up. They declined my dispute saying it never took place, when I have proof it did and money is now missing.. another incident after this I tried charging $38 for movie tickets and got an error on screen but the money was taken out and I called customer service and they said it will take 3dys for my money to return back since it didn't go through to purchase tickets. This also disappeared and the money was not given back.

    I took screenshot that it showed pending and then transaction was removed but money wasn't given back. Will be looking to get an attorney to fight this ongoing scam and will notify the media as well and will share on YouTube.. If people get this card and their money is gone this has to be put to a stop.. They should not be a bank at all if this is one of the biggest scam.. People work hard for their money and for some stupid reason it gets freely taken.. This will stop in the name of Yeshua.. Will be praying about this every day for others to get there money back..this will not go on.

    I loaded a temporary card up with $500, tried to set up an account and they claimed since I couldn't verify my identity (which I gave all correct information) they could not provide me with a card, so the temporary card I got didn't work and I had to wait THREE weeks to get a check in the mail for my $500! I had to go to Walmart, waste my time standing in line at their check-cashing center and got ripped off with a $3 check cashing fee. Do not use Green Dot! They are a COMPLETE SCAM!

    I purchased a Greendot prepaid card to use on a website to purchase time to talk to my sick brother. I bought the card. Come home to register my card, the message I get is enter valid card details. I check the card over and it is correct. No big deal. I’ve purchased these cards before and know that there is a window sometimes after purchase where the card cannot be registered yet. Thinking this was the case I wait 1/2 hour and try again, I get the same response from the system. So I go to the next step thinking the site may be malfunctioning or something and go ahead and call the registration over the phone. Get the the forced automated prompt and they want the card number. I type it in and what do ya know “hmm we couldn’t find a match with those details, try again”. I try again. It comes back and says, "To remove the block from your card contact us at a later hour…."

    So I’m trying to wrap my head around how a card that does not exist is now blocked..? Now coming up on time to make the video/audio call on the platform I had supposed to be on with the electronic donation, that I now had no way to make. I don’t give up there. Try all the numbers to corporate and any other office they’re tied to and at every stop I’m hearses like cattle to “the card number so they can better assist me”, with the same result of them not recognizing that this is even a card. I go back to the retailer. He says, "Yes. the transaction went through," shows me the digital confirmation that corresponds with the numbers on my receipt. So now it is 5:30 a.m and there is no way to get to a human of course, I am realizing what is happening and at the lowest point on my behalf.

    I come home and research that they are linked with GO2bank who has a live chat. I fire away.. I finally get through to an agent and he takes the card info. He comes back and says I cannot speak on this card since it’s registered to a different account…. I explain that that can’t be possible since I just bought the card and none of the platforms have acknowledged that this piece of plastic even exists. He hits me with the good ok customer service loop to loop of course. I try the card all the way until 8 a.m when the phone lines open up and that was a waste of time because once again… I’m directed to the prompt no matter which option I take or how many times I hit # * 0. No Algorithm to get around these guys.

    I go to the live chat where I had to make an account to chat. I explain the card does not get recognized through the system and I’m very upset about it. He says “I can only help with cards linked to this account.” So this now means I have this card in which Greendot does not acknowledge and the only way they will help me is to make a new account. So here I go to the account creation where I am met with enter your card details, following “these card details are invalid”…. What a joke. I get back to live chat before it closes and tell him what happened. He says, "I will arrange a call with a supervisor. What is your contact details." So I give him the contact details and ask him nicely if he could give me an estimated time, he says “the supervisor will call you within 24 hours," and immediately leaves the chat. This was the worst display of organization unless you're talking about a mafia.

    Customer support can read and see the apparent problem but not give you any sort of guidance or assurance to what to do, probably instructed from the higher staking criminal leaders. And their whole contact system is set up to run you around (especially in my case). I would rather throw my money off a bridge one bill at a time than buy this useless piece of plastic. Hopefully one day I lock my keys in my house so it comes In use to maybe get in the door, but I wouldn’t be surprised if I had to enter details “that didn’t exist” to take it out of my pocket..

    I purchased a Green Dot prepaid Card on 6/24/2023 and it was required that I add $20.00 to the card. I added the $20.00 in good faith believing that this was a ethical company. I am going to take accountability for my actions this time because I usually review companies before I do business with them. I was instructed that my identity would have to be verified before I could use the card. I uploaded my ID for them to verify my identity and they kept denying the id as unacceptable due to not being able to read the ID. I knew that was untrue because I and my employer were able to read the ID. When I call for clarification, everyone I spoke with gave me such lame excuses with no resolve.

    I asked how could they take $7.95 out of my money and I was told that was the monthly fee for the card. I explained that I just got the card and haven't been unable to use the card. They told me I can use the card at point of sale but I can't deposit or do anything else with the card. I explained to them that I believed they were professional criminals stealing from legal working people, gaining wealth by stealing from everyone that purchase their card. This is a learning curve for me and I am doing this review in hopes to help someone else from becoming a victim of Green Dot.

    I made it online reservation and the hotel chain charge my card in error because upon arriving they did not have a room so they refunded my money immediately but Green Dot who manages the card for Walmart prepaid Visa debit it's taking 2 weeks to put my money back in my account. Now after talking with Green Dot representative several times and explaining that when they charge my card it's instant but yet they're going to hold my money for 2 weeks before they refund it not only is it putting me in financial difficulty but they're not making me whole by paying any interest. So I consider this theft. They've stolen $113.79 and they refuse to accept a certified letter from the merchant saying that the charge was an error and has been transaction has been canceled. So information as far as I'm concerned they should be prosecuted for larceny.

    I was issued a pay card from my employer. I used the card to pay for a trip then received a credit from the company. This company then froze my account saying I need to provide documentation showing this is a valid credit. I emailed the 1st address provided by their representative then found out 2 days later that it was incorrect. After getting the correct email address & sending all the documents I was informed to give them another 2 to 3 business days to review the documents. It’s been almost 2 weeks and I’m still getting the same answer.

    Today April 25, 2023, I spoke to Meme who said she was creating another ticket & wait 2-3 business days. Then I spoke with Marites, the supervisor who said the same thing. The call was recorded & I asked twice what is the process when nothing happens after 2-3 days & all she would say is, "Just wait and call back tomorrow." I have been told by every representative to wait 2 to 3 business days then nothing ever happens. This is a card provided by my employer that my work funds are loaded but they are allowed to just hold my money & not give it back. This is a company I wouldn’t advise anyone to ever use under any circumstances!

    I've been a customer for a couple of years now and watched how far downhill they've gone. They've revised their rules to limit you on how much money you can pull out at once and they charge you monthly fees to use their card. If you need to shut your car down or replace it you lose out on the cash back fees that you acquire with it. Green Dot claims that they abide by banking laws but they do not. When you suspect that there may have been fraud and the transaction is still pending they tell you that you have to allow it to post to your account before you can file a dispute. When you do call back file a dispute you are then informed that you are at fault for making the purchase and giving the merchant your purchasing information and they can try to file a dispute but if it's denied then there's nothing they can do about it and your money is lost to the thieving merchant.

    The representatives are rude and condescending. This banking institution wanna-be needs to be shut down permanently and tried in a court of law for all of the crimes that they commit against consumers who put their trust in them as an online bank. I personally have now lost out on hundreds of dollars due to this Bank refusing to help me retrieve my money from thieving merchants. And not only that but I lose out on money to Green Dot themselves and I'm paying them to use their services but they don't abide by all of the terms of the contract nor do they protect anybody from anything bad happening whether it be from them or a thief.

    People, don't ever trust this company with your money. DO NOT USE this company because they will scam you at some point or another. I bought this card from Walmart thinking it was a gift card (long story) and I put $200 in it. Their website states to send copy of card and receipt for a refund but they refuse returning my money. I never registered nor use their card. And when I did try to register and activate the card they said "no matching info". They def have employees inside their company stealing people's money and instead of finding out those bad apples they pass on the loss to customers. I'm still trying to get my money back, not so much for the money but to make them pay for the aggravation. Lawsuit coming up soon!! Hope they go out of business.

    I have been unable to obtain a refund of US$478.00 which I deposited onto a prepaid VISA card issued by Green Dot Bank on November 16, 2022. The card could not be activated, either over the phone or on the Green Dot website. I notified Green Dot within hours of purchasing the card that it could not be activated. They have refused to refund my money.

    On November 22, 2022, Green Dot promised to issue a refund if I provided them with details of the transaction, a copy of the card and receipt, and a U.S. mailing address for the refund check. I provided all the information. I contacted them several times to follow up, and received either no replies or replies that amounted to evasion or dead ends.

    On February 9, 2023, Green Dot advised me for the first time that they did not intend to issue a refund. They allege that the card was activated by an unnamed third party, and that under their terms and conditions they were not responsible for a refund. I have asked them for a copy of the terms and conditions they rely on, and they have not provided them.

    This is by far the worst customer relations experience I have ever had. To be given the run-around and to be misled by so many Green Dot employees is not only unprofessional and irresponsible, but also beyond infuriating. I paid US$478.00 in good faith for a card that never worked and reported the issue promptly, and Green Dot refuses to give the money back.

    I needed to order a new card and I am getting ready to move so when I ordered the new card I gave them the address I would be at when the car was to arrive they did not tell me that I would have to have that new address on my ID to be able to receive the card. That isn't possible so I put my old address back on file they have now blocked my account it's been 5 days. It was only supposed to take 2. I have submitted documents 3 times the 2nd time the representative on the phone attached them to my file on the 2nd of November and told me they were fine.

    On the 4th of November I got an email saying they were blurry and could not be read even though the address has been the same for 18 years. I then re submitted the same documents it's now been another 24 hours and still no lift on the block I have had no access to my money for 6 days now. My car insurance has been canceled. I missed a job interview yesterday because I have no money for gas because they won't even let me transfer funds from one account to another. They have my entire social security number I have been a customer for 5 years nothing has changed on the account and they have it blocked. I have $0 in my pocket and all my money is in this account. I am now low on food, my Utilities are being shut off. This is absolutely ridiculous

    After having my veterans benefits direct deposited to this card for four years, they blocked my account when I called saying I had lost my card and wanted a new one sent to me at another address because I was traveling. At the instruction of their agent, I put the temporary address into my mobile profile. Then they told me this address had to be verified before a card could be reissued. This was over a month ago. I have called many times and have been told it would be unblocked and then nothing happens. I can't even call them because my card number is invalid and you have to have a valid number in order to get through to customer service. Before they took my card out of the system I had three so called managers hang up on me when they couldn't provide answers to my questions. All customer service is handled in other countries so very hard to understand. I have been blocked out of my account for over a month and can get no one to help.

    I had to change my mailing address at the same time they were sending me my new card. I was told they would email me with instructions and I would need to attach my ID to it with my reply to that email. The same instructions were in the email. It stated that it would take two business days to review. So I waited two days with no access to my account to ensure I am not committing fraud. I called them back and they stated they didn't receive it. I then emailed them again and waited two days. This went on several rounds. Then they said I needed to send it to a different email address. So I did that, again went a couple rounds with that one. They finally stated they received it. That was now 4 business days later and still my account is locked. One person I spoke to stated I needed to now send a copy of my utility bill. When using their chat feature all the chats vanish so I started taking screenshots so they can't always play dumb.

    I received the gift card – purchased from Walmart on 07/02/22. I did not know that Walmart gift/debit cards do not work, unless you willingly give GREENDOT your social security number and date of birth. I’ve had issues with my identity, so I did not want to give them my personal information (to protect my security). The 1st time I called Greendot was July 19th. Getting a human took a good 20+ minutes. I finally spoke to Sonndos, (man) who told me to e-mail a request for a refund (it would take 2-3 weeks to receive a refund check). I was also told to supply them a copy of the card (back & front) of the Walmart paid receipt. I did – sending it to: RR@greendotcorp.com as instructed at 8:53 am EST on 07/19/22. I was told to refer to my CASE# **.

    I was away for almost (2) weeks, so I followed up on my return. I called on August 12, 2022. After 15+ minutes waiting for a human, I finally spoke to Urcher (female). She told me nothing was received and I needed to resend my request and copies? I e-mailed everything again on August 12th at 1:16 pm EST. This time she told me to refer to new CASE# **.

    The 3rd time I called them was on August 22, 2022. I spent 45 min on the phone, speaking to several Green dot employees. WHY? Because Shreeaano told me that card was “registered” and “used”, so the case was closed. I asked if they could refer to my letters and (2) prior written requests – because I did not register the card out of fear of identity theft (& how I did not want to provide my ss# or birthdate to Greendot). Shreeanno wouldn’t listen, only receptively saying the case was "closed", the card was "registered and used".

    I begged to speak to a human – preferably an American supervisor. He transferred me to Dominic and said he was unable to tell me when the card was registered – I asked who and when was the card registered. Again, I requested to speak to an American Supervisor. He transferred me to Rose, (corp card solutions?). She said the case was “closed” because the card was "registered and used" on August 12th. And suggested I call my, “local law enforcement”. I kept asking why Greendot wasn’t interested to investigate which of their employees stole from a customer – she kept ignoring me and continued to tell me to call my local law enforcement.

    Then I called Walmart (479)273-4000 on August 22 at 4:48 pm. I spoke to Katelyn who explained that despite Walmart’s name being all over the credit/debit card they outsource it to a 3rd party company – outside of the USA. Walmart will sell these cards and do not care about their customers or that their 3rd party company is stealing from their customers.

    In order to activate the card, the Greendot employee had to use their social security number and birthdate (or give it to a friend) – so the evidence is there. No police department is going to sit on the phone for that long with Greendot, speaking to people in India, or a $30 loss. My advice? Do not buy any Walmart gift cards &/or debit cards!!!

    At first, it seemed to work pretty well, until I tried to send my daughter some money. Even though the money was taken off of my card, Green Dot wouldn't let the transfer go through because my daughter doesn't have a Green Dot card. We tried to put the money back on my card, Green Dot wouldn't allow that either. Customer service hung up on me several times before I could even talk to anyone. I finally got it taken care of several days later. A few days after that, my pin number wouldn't work, I finally got someone from customer service on the phone and was told that my pin number had expired. Not the card, just my pin number, with no 'heads up' from Green Dot. I had to completely reset the pin number.

    About a month later, I was trying to make an online purchase and I kept getting a 'card denied' response even though I knew that the money was there. I was told by Green Dot customer service that the company I was trying to order from was not on their list of preferred merchants, so my transaction would not be allowed. These are only a few problems that I had, the actual list is much longer.

    I have been using the Greendot prepaid card for more than a year now, and I have noticed something alarming. Greendot is scamming their customers. They must think people are stupid and can't do simple math. I know how much I had in my account, and all of a sudden I am negative. Since when does a prepaid (non-bank) card have any overdrafts allowed??? Every time I would try using my card before not knowing if I had enough to cover the cost, it would decline if I didn't have enough funds available for the transaction. Also, I still remember Greendot trying to take the monthly fee twice in one month from me before.

    They have also taken the monthly fee before they were supposed to, and if I didn't have it yet it would be negative. I DON NOT any longer trust Greendot. They told me this on my end and there nothing wrong with my transaction history, claiming I owe and I don't. GOODBYE GREENDOT!!! You just lost another customer, because you are untrusting.

    I am a victim of Debit Card fraud, some thief stole $1,300 from my Greendot checking acct I had for close to 7yrs. They stole $900 one day and $400 while I was on the phone with the customer service rep which of course is in India somewhere they can barely understand me. I filed the police report, GD denied my claim 3xs. How they stole the money from the ATM without my card or pin # is beyond me. The police stated that the bank should honor my claim...But NOOO not GREENDOT!! They had the nerve to tell me I authorized these, fraudulent withdrawals, you can clearly see where the suspect did Balance inquiries prior to draining my account. I have an app on my phone. I DON'T NEED TO PAY .50 TO INQUIRE!! I'm so annoyed as to why or how GD can blatantly refuse to give me my money back after all these years of loyalty!!! Do not trust your money with this company....They don't care about you!

    Walmart VISA Gift Cards issued by Green Dot Corporation were frozen with hundreds of dollars on 3 cards ($700 total). I gave 3 cards to 3 people. Each informed me their gift card was declined--one card declined at restaurant, another declined at store, 3rd card declined by Amazon. My experience with Green Dot--9 phone calls, 172 minutes on the phone, uploaded and emailed my driver's license 3 times, 5 business days, repeatedly put on hold, repeatedly disconnected calls, repeatedly told to call back after a few more business days, one week of this with no resolution. I finally had to get my credit card company, American Express, involved. My review of Green Dot--they will limit access to your money while providing little or no help to resolve the issue. A Green Dot Corporate Resolutions Manager told me that when they limit access to your money on their VISA GIFT Cards, depending upon your state it can take 2 to 3 years to get your money.

    I bought the card, it didn't work, called them, and decided not to proceed. Representative rude and got no results. They continue to charge me and called them on numerous occasions because the card was NOT IN USE. On 1/11/2022 I was told nothing was owed. I asked for a letter or email saying it was satisfied and I owed nothing. Recme said they couldn't send me a letter. Got an email on 1/26/2022 showing balance owed and had to call them back. Who has time to continue to call this company and deal with multiple issues. Not me!!! THEY DON'T DESERVE A 1-STAR. NEXT STOP, ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE!!

    I loaded $20 on the card. I have made several request to close account and months later they are still charging me fees. Green Dot has a disclaimer that says "simply spend the funds to a $0 balance" and "we will automatically close the account shortly thereafter due to zero balance and no activity." THEY ARE STILL CHARGING monthly fee. I called and spoke with a rep (go figure.... I haven't been able to reach a live person in months) at the request of the rep I mailed a letter to request to close the account back in August 2021 and as of Jan 2022 they now say I owe over $100 in fees for a card that was never used. What the heck happened to close the account when it reached $0?

    I have had a Green Dot card for years, I have been a loyal customer. I have had a few issues over the years and sometimes it takes an act of congress to get anything resolved. Just recently I had a purchase from a very well known online retailer, my card got charged twice and I first called the retailer and talked with them and was told that the first charge was a hold but the funds were released by them so the card company could return the funds, the amount was $378.00. They said that they had an authorization number that if I gave it to Green Dot that they could check on it.

    So I called The number on the back of my card and got a customer service representative, they told me that the company hadn’t released the funds and that I would have to wait 11 days in order to get the money back on my card. I told them that I had talked to the retailer and they explained that they approved the release, the Green Dot Representative told me that the company wasn’t telling me the truth. The next day I called the retailer again and once again they told me that they had in fact released the hold and that I could call Green Dot and once again tell them they had the authorization. So once again I call Green Dot customer service and speak with a representative, once agonizing they tell me that the retailer told me a lie and that now I couldn’t get my money back until the 24th, now I got tea upset because how could the date change in one day!

    I asked to speak with a supervisor and was transferred to another customer service representative not a manager, then I got the runaround from that representative, before they finally transferred me to a supervisor. After talking with the supervisor and explaining everything to him he told me that there was nothing whatsoever he could do and when I asked for his supervisor I was told that nobody could do anything to help me! Needless to say I’m totally disgusted with how I was treated and I’m planning on finding a new card company. Do not!! I repeat DO NOT!!! Use this company for anything, they will steal your money.

    How to get your money back from Green Dot. I just went through two months of misery because of this company! For all of you with issues getting your money back, you need to file a complaint with the Federal Reserve Board in San Francisco. They are the ones monitoring this company for now. When Green Dot moves its corporate headquarters to Austin, TX, it will probably be overseen by the FRB there. I am not allowed to include the contact information for the FRB here. Google it. GOOD LUCK! I spent TWO MONTHS going back and forth with their call center, with their agents reading from scripts, and telling me they were "so sorry for the inconvenience", and "send documents"! UGH!!! The Federal Reserve Board can help!! Contact them!!

    I bought a card and I reloaded w/ 400 dollars and I never used, every time they lié to me, that card can never be activated. I call more than 100 times to the Green Dot number and I never get any answer. Look like I lose my 400 dollars is the second time that happen.

    My money is being stolen by Green Dot Bank. I had mine and my boyfriend's direct deposits from unemployment sent to my account and they closed it for suspicious activity. They will not return funds. The policy or directions they have given me to get these funds is physically impossible for me to make happen, and I have told them this repeatedly and they refuse any other ways to return my funds. So they are basically stealing my money.

    Got scammed in a transaction concerning a Green Dot Go2Card, due to the lack of security and service by Green Dot Corporation of Pasadena, CA. This is a horrible company to deal with. They have infuriatingly bad service. Corporate headquarters has no available United States phone number. I found countless bad reviews on them on Trustpilot for their GO2Card, MoneyPak product, and Green Dot online accounts. And an ABC News story said that this company's products are often used by scammers, as happened in my case. I am still trying to get a refund that should have already been issued.

    I've had a Go Bank prepaid debit card (part of Green Dot) for 2 years now. I've never really had a problem until this month. On October 1st, I transferred money from my Go Bank debit card to my bank account in another city. It is now October 13th and they STILL have not transferred the money. Every time I call, I keep getting the runaround. I'm always told that the money will be transferred in 3-5 business days. I think they fully intend of keep that money. I've already set up my direct deposit with another prepaid debit card and when I don't have any money left on this card, I'm going to cancel it. When it comes to transferring money from a Go Bank account to any other bank account, they have no clue what they are doing!!!! Before this incident, I didn't have any problems with Go Bank at all. But they've royally screwed up big time stealing my money like this!!!!

    This is the worst card ever, it is supposed to be a prepaid card but in order to activate it, you have to enter your social security number and after you activate the card, they rob the money in the card then, they send a credit card without your permission, and finally, they charge you more than $7 dollars every month until you call and cancel "the prepaid card" but the negative credit stays in the record.

    Green Dot Bank is a fraud. After closing my account and being told Green Dot bank would issue me a check for the balance I had in my account when I closed it they never did. Instead GD pocketed several hundred dollars belonging to me. Inspite contacting the bank numerous times over a six week period and leaving messages and being told the matter had been turned over to another department the fact is GD never contacted me. Now they refuse to speak to me and will not discuss why they never issued me a refund check. I had no charges pending against my account since I was saving the money and hadn't used the card in months. Green Dot is a horrible bank that no one should trust their money with. They're scammers!

    Please think twice before using this company. I am currently at the end of my vacation and the airline did not take cash so I purchased one of their cards and put ALL of my money on there. When I went to activate the card they IMMEDIATELY blocked my card, I didn’t even make a transaction yet. My flight leaves in 5 hours and I am currently stranded in a different state IN A WHEELCHAIR with NO money thanks to this company. They told me I had to wait 2 business days before they can unlock my card and it was nothing else they can do. Never in my life had to deal with this with a prepaid card. NEVER purchase this card

    Have been using a green Walmart checking account card for 6 months now. My payroll checks are automatically deposited to this account. Received an insurance check from GEICO that neither Walmart nor Green Dot bank money card app will cash or deposit. If This Were a local bank checking account I would have had no difficulty whatsoever. I still have not gotten this check cashed today. I was misled into believing that this was the same as a regular checking account like any other local bank.

    Also I have my card has been declined by a couple businesses because it was listed as a prepaid debit card. Not linked to a real Bank. I was also misled into believing that this was a card tied to a real Bank. When I tried to use my card information showed it was just a normal cheap over-the-counter prepaid debit card. This has prevented me from using this card on several occasions in the past two weeks which has caused me great difficulty and problems. In all honesty, I could not give this card even 1 star rating today. August 5, 2021. I am very disappointed, dissatisfied, and for these reasons would not recommend to anyone the service because of the time and stress and embarrassment resulting.

    So I got this card so I could have my work check direct deposited. Was all good for the 1st year or 2. But now I can't access my account. It has been closed. $743.22 I cannot have of my own $. I have sent emails to verify my identity 3 times with case # and I keep getting the runaround. If I could give a 0* that's what it would be. I'm not even shopping at ** Walmart no more. Walmart Money Card is through Green Dot Bank. Like need my $ ASAP. Rent is due and can't pay it because green dot closed my account. And holding my $ and giving the runaround.

    DON'T USE THIS CARD. I had two GreenDot accounts. One I used all the time and one my husband used. I had accumulated over $450 in cash back rewards and was getting them back in September. Well someone hacked my account and I had to have it closed. When I asked about my cash back rewards I was told by four different people they could see it but I had to forfeit them and there was nothing they could do. They are a total scam. Don’t use them. I have told all my friends and family.

    I have been a Green Dot Cashback Card member for over 5yrs now. There had been issues here and there but nothing major until now. On July 8, 2021 I sent my bf $300 via Green Dot to Greendot. After he claimed the money his account was blocked and ID verification was requested. He immediately addressed the issue and sent in the requested doc. After hours of chat online and phone calls and customer service giving him the runaround they closed his account and the funds which I sent to him. Now can't be access nor was refund to him nor I. I went and check my account and the same thing occurred and my account too was closed after I was asked to send in my ID. So basically our accounts were closed. The money still in the accounts is not accessible nor being return to us. We have a combine total of $350 cashback plus $349 in funds not return to us?

    Customer service barely speaks English and we just get disconnected both on the phone and online. They refuse to return the money I sent my bf not to mention cheated us out of our Cashback reward of $350 of which $250 is due to me next month. I can't helped but feel I was robbed! Green Dot basically took our money closed our accounts and refuse to give us back the money we deposited and canceled our Cashback rewards funds. Every time we contact customer service we get a rhetorical answer "contact the original sender for the funds" which is me meanwhile they are holding the funds and closed the account. After hours of being place on hold we get disconnected! Don't do business with this company because at anytime they will close your account and keep your money!

    There was an charge made to a company I don't even know. On both days I was home and they denied any reimbursement. 2 payments within a week and half for 86.61$$. 2 times whole on both occurrences I was home but Green Dot denied them. Not only that my points for the last 8 months haven't occurred after reaching the 100.00 mark either the supervisor couldn't even answer. Why??? They stink!! So if ya wanna lose money and pay 3.50 every time at an atm and don't want your points after 100.00$ Mark And get fees constantly then it's for you.

    I have a Green Dot GO2 debit card and went to an authorized 7-11 and deposited $100. It never showed up in my account. So I called Green Dot and let's review what happened. Call #1 Verified my SS, Address, Phone #, DOB, explained what happened, and the person "Bob" said "I'll transfer you to dispute" then I hear a busy signal - wasted 15 minutes.

    Call #2 Nice girl, had trouble speaking English, never got her name. Went through the same verification process with her and I told her to send me to dispute because that's where they sent me last time but then I got a busy signal. She stayed on the line for an hour while we waited for the Dispute dept to pick up. She tried to put in a ticket but said my card was "Invalid" despite her seeing nothing wrong with the card and Green Dot just took out their maintenance fees a few days earlier. FINALLY, after 55 minutes the Dispute dept picks up, and we go through the ENTIRE verification process again.

    After spending another 15-minutes explaining my problem they tried to put in a ticket which I told them won't work because NOW there is something wrong with my card. But nevertheless, this guy, who can't speak English either, (I'm Not Racist LOL) spends another 10 minutes taking down all the info from my receipt then says "Oh the dispute Dept can't do anything...we don't deal with lost transactions, you'll have to talk to Customer services..." So he transfers me. A girl picks up and I say, "I WANT TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR.' She puts the phone down and I can hear her breathing but she won't say anything. After me saying "HELLOOO" for 15 minutes suddenly I get a busy signal.

    Call #3 I tell the operator, "Please transfer me to customer services because I just wasted 2 hours with the dispute department" and they said I must speak with Customer service and the girl was like ???. Then after 10 minutes suddenly I get a busy signal. Call #4 person who can hardly speak English answers. I say "You people have already wasted 3 hours of mine, I WANT TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR," She says, "Fine," a few minutes later a supposed supervisor gets on but I hear all the same background operator noise so basically she handed the phone to the person next to her.

    Nevertheless, I go through the entire verification process all over again, and she starts taking down all the info to put in a ticket and after telling her she can't put in a ticket... TAA DAA she says the Ticket can't go through and to WRITE A LETTER and send it to GO2bank P.O. Box 5100 Pasadena, CA 91117. I tell her "NOW I WANT TO SPEAK TO YOUR SUPERVISOR," She hangs up...so another 30 minutes wasted. Call #5 same story, same verification process, I tell the person, "GIVE ME YOUR SUPERVISOR..." Sup gets on. We go through the entire verification AGAIN. After spending 11 minutes explaining the problem, giving him all the info on the receipt he says "GO2 can't resolve the problem." I have to go to the 7-11. So I respond "NOW I WANT TO SPEAK TO YOUR SUPERVISOR,".

    ANOTHER guy who CAN'T SPEAK ENGLISH gets on and he says there is no one above him. He's the supreme supervisor...Of course, I laughed at him. I ask him what is his name and despite having a thick Indian accent he responds 'HECTOR'. I ask "Hector" what is his last name and he says "I can't give you that for security reasons" LOL. Anyway, we go through the whole verification process again. Clearly, he's reading off his step-by-step how to resolve a dispute when dealing with an insane American cue card. He starts asking me the EXACT...EXACT same questions to fill out a Ticket. So I ask him, "How are you going to file a ticket" when his computer is telling him that my debit card is invalid. He said he fixed the problem but when I asked what happened he said Due to security issues he can't tell me.

    After a few moments, when he finally realizes his computer won't accept the ticket, he says "I sent the ticket but please send a copy of the receipt to this email address and explain the problem IN DETAIL about the who, what, when, and where of the transaction." In other words, all the info that he asked while filling out the ticket he said he sent in. Of course, he's lying about the ticket because why would I need to explain what happened IN DETAIL, if they had the ticket with all the same exact info? So I told him, "Have the person you're sending the Ticket to, send me an email and I will send the copy of my receipt. "Hector" then says and I quote "Please send a copy of the receipt to this email address and explain the problem in detail." I tell him "No, have whatever fictitious department you sent the ticket to, call me or email me because I'm not waiting days wondering if someone even OPENED THE GOD DAMN EMAIL!"

    "Hector," says and I quote "Please send a copy of the receipt to this email address and explain the problem in detail." I respond, "Are you ** kidding me?" "Hector" says and I quote "Please send a copy of the receipt to this email address and explain the problem in detail." I said, "Is this a ** joke?" Hector cries "We don't tolerate abusive language" and hangs up.

    I spoke with a Joey in the Green Dot dispute department. None of my transactions are showing for April 2, 2021. I went under my inbox of transactions. There were seven transactions done on that day. I am resending a letter for case# **, I need to correct my error of putting the wrong date. Instead of July 10, 2021 it should of been June 10, 2021. The transaction for Best Buy was ran on April 2, 2021 in the amount of $239.37. Look at the attachments.

    I am disputing the transaction on June 10, 2021 from Best Buy. It was originally ran on April 2, 2021 in the amount of $239.37, Best Buy ran it a second time on June 10, 2021 for the exact same amount! All I want is my refund please, and Thank you. Hard to prove if the dispute department can't even see my transactions from April 2nd, they were deleted by whom?

    I am a honest person of why my Lord & Savior had all my transactions under my inbox of transactions for me to see I was correct. And want your department to work with the dispute department to get my money refunded on my card Best Buy stole! I will send the letter on 06/29/2021 early in the morning. I have been getting the RUN AROUND from **. This literally is theft and I would not RECOMMEND ordering from Best Buy online let alone shopping in their store!

    I would NEVER EVER do business with this crooked company EVER again in life! All the money this company makes and you're stealing people money. Keep credit cards on file to robbed people of their money! Some people probably don't even recognize. And they won't allow me to log into Facebook to leave a comment. But I'm going to find a way around that to get my voice heard that way or in small claims court! I'm going to sue for the amount $239.37 then some for pain and the suffering my so called Green Dot crooked bank through WalMart. I have already took all my funds out that account!     Do not allow green dot to control your money in there so call bank. Not even in the United States. They customer service is no help; they hang up and disconnect calls! Beware. Remove your money. Go with a bank who care not put your though sooo much to get your money back that was clearly stolen out my account! Green dot delete transactions from your statement; little they know they still appear under your message history of transactions.. So unfair and mistreated by this so call bank! It's not over.     I received a fraudulent transaction on 6/13. I reported it at that moment, because I receive text alerts. It takes almost a month with several calls for me to get real help, as I was told it will take an additional 2 weeks to receive the funds on my card. My account has been locked and closed. I can no longer have an account due to the fraudulent transaction, that was made against my account. My direct deposit was sent back due to my account being closed. I've had no access to my money for over 2 weeks. I don't know how I'm getting by. I'm continuously being told to wait. First and last problem I'll ever have with this company. I refuse to go through this again.

    They will lock your money up and slowly take each month. I called 3 times asking for the card to be unlocked, I Uninstalled/reinstalled it even showed unlocked but they wouldn't let me use the funds. This card needs a class action lawsuit. They play horrible games and take people's money. Total crooks.

    I had a voided transaction, Green Dot held the money pending for 2 weeks, unacceptable. Calling them does no good, they will just give you the runaround. You can send money to people in a matter of minutes but green dot hold money for a week or more in pending. It's ridiculous.

    This card was OKAY at first and even kind of liked it until I actually used it for a few things. For example, I TRIED to book a stay at a motel with Priceline, the stay I tried booking didn’t go through and the payment was literally immediately reversed but when I tried to book another hotel, it was completely declined. I noticed I had no money left on card so I called the bank. They said it wouldn’t be released for 10 days. I explained what happened and nobody would do anything. I asked for manager and they told me I would get the same result no matter what. I eventually got to Mr. ** {supposedly one of the head managers} and things got even worse.

    After some very intense and unprofessional arguing, he allowed me to have Priceline write him an email stating I wasn’t being charged. Priceline and I called him back and had to go through the rude agents telling us that it won’t happen AGAIN. After 3 hours of back and forth, we got my money back. Thanks Jay from Priceline. Go2 tried their hardest to keep my money and don’t care about the customer at all. Don’t believe me? Give customer service a call or read other reviews on the same *manager*. I’ll stick to my chime or chase debit card from now on. I've had this happen before on their cards but the money was never held more than 2 minutes! Be very careful when using GO2bank.

    I received my 2020 tax refunds on my Turbo tax card which happens to under the Green Dot Bank company. The same day that I received my refunds and went to a store to purchase some much needed food for my household my card said declined. So I went home and checked my account online and it says card blocked for suspicious activity which I knew right away was false because just moving from Houston to Jacksonville Florida I'd check my account every other day for it because I knew it was due that week. I called forever trying to get a live agent and when I did they're in the Philippines with a very bad connection and know nothing helpful. They told me to send them my ID copy to them to prove it's my account. I told them there's no suspicious activity in my account. Just me and that I was going to contact my new area congressman and told him about green dot and their card blocking people's refunds ( 4others in my apt complex) which I did.

    He did contact me telling me he would look into it as people deserve their hard earned money from the government. I thanked him and that's it thanking maybe it would take forever but lo and behold the very next day(13 hrs later) I got and email from Green Dot Bank saying I could use my card for shopping and cash retrieval at ATM's but I could never order another card with them again. Which was just fine with me cause I will never ever do any kind of business with them ever again. I can't tell you how fast I ran to the store and got all my money off that card before they tried anything else crazy. But still it took probably a call from my area congressman to unblock my card and that's a shame to go that far but at the same time it did bring these crazy people to light and noticed by a government official which I hope can help others in this card funds holding dirty business they are doing on purpose.

    I made a honest mistake and accidently mixed up my bank account numbers that was both on small card/paper for my bank and Green Dot's. On top of that, I didn't know where this card was at all, was trying to set up my new direct deposit from my job and realized once I didn't receive my first paycheck, that I messed up, put a stop to it, even requested a new card, which came with no funds on it. Contacted Green Dot customer service which was almost impossible at the time to get hold. Eventually did, after being hung up on, the phone had bad static which cut in and out. Could barely hear them.

    Was placed on hold for it seemed like 15 minutes while dogs barked, kids cried and played loudly in the background, men talking. Eventually I was transferred to supervisors after at least calling 10 times daily and even my wife. The supervisor gave me info to forward to them, which I did but was told by them after they received it, that it was basically suspicious. It was my driver's license! I also sent this place a letter from myself requesting my money be returned to me. After that, was told to have my employer to try and retrieve my money which I done with no avail.

    This all started in January. This is now May and I still have not received my money. Just contacted them again today. Spoke to another supervisor, which told me to again to send my ID through email which I done today. She asked that I wait 7 to 10 days, a check would be mailed to me, (I'll update you). They're withholding my hardworking money. I done everything they requested. I even asked if I could go to Wal-mart and prove my identity there but was told I could not. I just want the money I worked for.

    I bought a card so I could have direct deposit and load money. So I put $20 on it when I bought it. I try to register it and I'm told I can get my $20 off but can't deposit money on it. Next morning they take $8 for monthly charge on a card that is useless to me. I call and they tell me until I order one with my name on it then I can't direct deposit. So I have a card that now I have to buy another one from another card company that knows how to treat customers. Don't use Green Dot.

    I received my EIDL loan on my Green Dot account once my deposit posted. Green Dot blocked my account along with all my money I had in savings and required me to send my loan documents & ID front and back. I have children. I run a cleaning company. I am a sole proprietor and I also work for FedEx. Ground me and my kids can't buy anything to eat until my card is unblocked which they say it will be 2 days. And I think this is unfair but I understand protection of customers but they could have went about this a different way. Please unlock my account. Please I am begging. I love my Green Dot account and am happy with their services. I just need this resolved.

    So I wanted to get a card that I could load and reload and use. It all started with the first card so I bought a card from Walmart and I wanted to try this particular company out so I started with just putting $20 on it. Well I used it for a day then I went to try and reload it. I Walmart said they couldn’t load it. Wouldn’t reload. So I didn’t think anything about it. I just bought another one. Put 20 more there. Then the next day I went to try and reload it again. Same thing. So at this point I’m kinda annoyed. Each time I had to buy the card I had to pay for the card plus the fee so for the 24.xx each time I was only able to spend 14.xx because each time it was charging me the monthly fee on each card. So I tried to call and find out what’s going on why can’t I load this card.

    This is where it became a complete and total headache.. By far the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in my life. It’s been over 2 months now I’ve been trying to verify my account. I’ve sent in my driver license 4 times to the verifymydocs@greendotcorp.com. They claim it takes 2 days to get back to you. I’m not sure. I haven’t gotten a single email once even gotten an email back letting me know that any email has been received at all. Every time I call they put you on hold as they’re talking so it seems like the service cut out.

    The chat is even worse. I’d recommend just going to the website and ask for anything and you’ll see what I mean. There is no help whatsoever. The only thing help you will get from the chat is then saying they can’t assist you or flat out refuse you. I wanted to make sure I got the verifymydocs email correct and it literally took me 6 different chats from 6 different reps, for someone to even say yes you have the correct email. I’m still dealing with it. I just wanted to warn everyone. Pick any other prepaid card. There is a reason that every other review website these guys only have 1 star.

    I want to warn people about the Green Dot debit card that is bought at Walmart. This card will lock your account and keep your money. My card was compromised and the bank locked the card and sent me a new one. It was blocked also. It was never used. The bank just blocked it with no reason. When you call they scream and tell at you. The Bank gives you different email addresses to contact them that do not work. The only way to reach them is through a call center that does not answer any questions because they have no answer. I have wondered how much interest the Bank has made off my blocked card.

    After reading Facebook Green Dot how much they make in interest in blocked cards for your "protection". This is strictly my opinion but I have not been able to use my card since March 31. I have called/ email/ and Facebook the company to no help. The Bank does not confirm your email so you don't really know if it goes through. Sent messages does not work on your phone with this company. I have filed a police report and filing a complaint with the attorney general and Consumer Affairs in my state. Just be warned this Bank needs a serious review by Federal Reserve. They are not regulated by FDIC.

    Considering all the other options available to the public when it comes to online banking and pre-paid visa cards/accounts, the Green Dot Unlimited pre paid visa is in my opinion based on personal experience a total scam. Particularly for one specific reason, which if not for this one reason, it would be comparable to many of the other online pre paid visa banking options.

    Green Dot Unlimited offers you the benefit of getting 2%cash back on all your purchases, which may sound great, except for the fact that most people that end up using one of these cards aren't particularly wealthy. Say you make 1000 a month and the rare chance that you spend that 1000 using the unlimited card, that would give you 20 bucks cash back added to your account which adds up over the course of 12 months before you can redeem it.

    The downside to all this is the fact that you are charged almost 8 bucks per month just to use this card and banking services associated with it. Now someone like myself will be lucky to end up with 100 bucks cash back at the end of 12 months. So if you take into account the monthly fee they charge of $7.00 and change, which comes to $84.00. In the end you only make back about 16 bucks. Not to mention it costs you $3.95 every time you add money to your account. I just want to make sure people who read this understand that in the end, you really aren't getting jack shit for cash back in the end. It's a marketing tactic and there are much better options out there for people like myself who can't, won't or don't use regular banks. Hope this helps someone.

    Purchased an item from AutoZone. Returned it and Green Dot blocked my card. Pending further review. Sent the copy of the receipt to the verifymydoc email and no one at their laughing tech support can say anything except be patient and wait. Well it has been 3 calendar days and as a disabled veteran and with a 6 yr old diabetic need access to my money. I will never ever use Green Dot again and will be contacting the local news and attorney. The fact that Intuit TurboTax is in bed with these people proves never go against what your gut tells you. They are nothing but crooks.

    Scam Alert! Green Dot Prepaid Credit Card is a scam. My parent hasn't been using the card because it's a pandemic and as a senior citizen they haven't needed to use it since they aren't leaving the house. I've has been a time trying to cancel the card, but they gave the them the wrong phone numbers. I finally got the right number to call from another website, GetHuman.com, but still had to sit through some awful music, just trying to get to a live human.

    As of now I have been on hold for over an hour, that 1 hour and 15 minutes until a human was on the line. For a called that lasted only 2 minutes. Be advised to not try to do the call back feature because it will not read your phone number, because it only picks up 9 of the digits and that's will inputting them into your phone; and will hang-up on you. I couldn't close the account online, because it uses a prefilled chat which doesn't have a place to request cancellation of the card. The worst is I've been trying to cancel the card, and the negative balance is growing, which isn't right. Since they are boasting about being a great card company, it should be easy to cancel a card, without sitting listening to crazy music waiting for a live agent to so.

    I still think they are a good company but they hold your money like a hostage to boost their profits and bottom line. Too many new inexperienced new hires and diversity training. They don't have after hours customer service which is a pain if it's important but not urgent. Banking in America is so out of whack with true customer fundamentals: they banks and customers are making, keeping, and spending less money because if all these restrictions, fraud alerts, etc .. whomever wrote these software programs have no real understanding because like most police departments it has not solved the problem but contrary to many contributed to it.

    Since October 26th 2020 my account has been blocked. My Fiancé & I both receive unemployment benefits via direct deposits. My fiancé asked can he have his back pay payment sent to my card until he opens his own checking account thru a National Bank. Well I didn’t read the fine print regarding rules on government direct deposits so my account is blocked. I emailed all documentation to customer service literally over 10 times & Greendot won’t accept our Identification or reward letters from unemployment or paystubs! It’s been 4 months & we still can’t access our funds. I contacted BBB. Greendot lied & claim corporate called me. Never did! My fiancé opened his own account to have funds sent to his card & nope Greendot claim they cannot do that even though partial of the funds are his! Customer service gives me a different answer. Basically we can’t get our own money! Greendot just keeps our money & we’re screwed!

    My mother was almost scammed on the phone, we managed to stop her before it was completed. Unfortunately she purchased 4 MoneyPak cards with $500 each. I figured it would be easy enough to recover the money but it is impossible to create an account on their site. Using legitimate phone numbers, SSN's and all data, I keep getting an error, "We’re sorry for the inconvenience but we’re unable to process your request at this time. Please try again."

    It is impossible to reach anyone on the phone for any help, impossible to create an account and impossible to take money off the card without the account. We stopped the frauds on the phone but apparently the fraud happens before, when you purchase a MoneyPak. The company makes it impossible to take that money out of the card, I guess they have no reason to help the customer because they'll just be charging monthly fees in the mean time and will eventually keep the entire balance. How has this company not been investigated? Is going through a lawyer and small claims the only option?

    I had hotel incidental charges on hold under Pending of 100 each totalling 2. Then a few days later I notice it drop off but I didn't see the funds back on my account nor was it posted anywhere. I contacted customer service on chat and they say it is still on hold till it settles. I asked why am I not able to see it under pending? That's how every other banks does it till it settles. No answer. Then I was transfer to a supervisor who abruptly said it will be escalated to the right department. Before I could even tell him/her to email me the transcript of the chat she/he disconnected the chat. Shady. So I of course under advisement of my bf use his camera a took pics of the chat also screenshot the whole chat just in case. Point is why is it I can't see the transaction under pending until it is settle. If I don't remember to check that money is gone!

    This company drops their cards into stores where they display them along with the normal gift cards. Then consumers pick them up for family thinking that is what they are buying into and the person they give it to gets tricked right out of their money from the very start. A parent of mine got me one last year. I dropped it in with the rest of the other gift cards waiting to be used and didn't really get much anything done last year because of the current COVID situation.

    This month I decided to break it out and use it to find out I have to register it first. Ok, so I pay normal and go home to register it for next time. Then to find out I need to give them my Social Security number and all sorts of information. I look everything up online to find out this has nothing to do with being a gift card. It is a prepaid debit card and in order to use the funds someone gifted on it, you have to set up a whole bank account with them.

    So then I do it, ready to drop everything as soon as I use the $50 on it for something. The very moment I register the card with an account, they immediately charge a $7.95 "monthly fee" from the $50. Well, this keeps getting worse. I will never go anywhere near a Green Dot card. Even if I was purposely looking for a prepaid card, I would stay far away from them because of this experience and their practices in tricking people into buying something thinking it is something else (a covert bait and switch routine they have there). I won't touch them again and I advise you to stay away as well. I wouldn't be surprised if they try to "fee" me closing the account once the card is depleted...

    I would not recommend to use Green Dot cards. I have had a nightmare experience with this company. I have not been able to reach them by calling several times - at least six times and sat on hold for over 25 minutes at a time and that is when the call wasn’t drop by the automated phone. The chat customer service was a disaster and doesn’t resolve any issues. I can see my money on the app, but I can’t access it. I need to purchase food, as I am a diabetic and can’t get my money to purchase food. I am told to wait three more days and a new card will be sent. I can’t possibly write my entire experience but recommend to not use this! It is beyond upsetting!

    As many others have reported, they blocked my account because I lost my card and ordered a replacement to my current address. When I moved I did not notify them immediately so it looked like someone may be ordering it to a wrong address, which I understand. The issue is that I have provided the verification docs they requested numerous times (verification letter from USPS showing change at address from old to new, driver's license, and a bill in my name at the new address) and they refuse to take the hold off. It is a MINIMUM of 90 min wait to get a representative, however generally the call drops before anyone answers, so you have to call back and start over. Absolute worst customer service ever! Honestly, it should be illegal to have control over people's money and act so inhumanely!! They are unfairly withholding $1820 from me for WEEKS, this is LITERALLY about to cause me to be out on the street!!

    I've been using Green Dot Unlimited for over a year, and I have had no issues until now. I misplaced my debit card and requested a new one. So far I have received four different dates of when it will arrive: December 11th, December 13th, December 18th, and now December 21. I have a terminal medical condition with a prognosis of less than six months. I haven't been able to withdraw money from my account to pay bills, pay my medical expenses, or pay for medicine. My money is just sitting there. I have been more than patient with them, and quite frankly I am tired of excuses.

    Green Dot customers should be aware that if you lose your card, your whole account will be locked. Your money will sit there and you don't have access to it. The customer service will give different dates and blame COVID-19 or the USPS. Like many Americans, I work hard. I just want access to my money and stop hearing excuses. I was a happy customer and got other people to join Green Dot, but not anymore.

    Please stay away from this company. Had I known beforehand what I know now, based on other people's reviews, I would have never used this card. I've always used Ally for my work's direct deposit. Since I started working a second job, I decided to get a Green Dot card to keep both direct deposits separated. What a huge mistake this was. I bought my Green Dot card less than a month ago. I received my first direct deposit without any issues, buy immediately after I did my card got blocked. I immediately submitted my government ID (front and back) successfully twice, and both times they claimed the documents were never received (like other reviewers have stated), even though I took a screenshot of the screen saying successfully uploaded, and even being on chat with a representative while I did it.

    After a week waiting I messaged them again through the chat option to no avail. I had to ask the agent for an e-mail address since they kept claiming they didn't receive any documentation despite me showing them proof. It's been over a week and my card is still locked with two direct deposits from my workplace on hold. This company is a complete fraud. Please find better options for your direct deposits and avoid going through the same nightmare I am. Now I am unable to access my paycheck with bills to pay. I contacted my employer immediately to cancel any direct deposit in the future. Horrible customer service, horrible card, horrible overall experience.

    I have been a customer of GDC for over 5 years and for the last two months they've held my check. My account was blocked after receiving my deposit with the compost I've been with over 3 years. Then after sending verifications I receive no response. No call backs and now the phones are hanging up. After several calls a rep tells me that they didn't like the docs but couldn't tell me the issue. I just don't understand why they couldn't send the money back to my job. This has to be illegal.

    My experience with Green Dot has been the worst ever. Using the card is a breeze but when it comes to customer service horrible!!! Oct 15th I had an unauthorized charge. Someone hacked my account, I have been working on getting my money back since oct 15th. Been calling and calling the company for different specialists who all have given me bad info or hung up the phone on me!!! Up until yesterday worst experience ever with any company. Then yesterday had a very helpful specialist who did thoroughly help me and answer my questions and even gave me a case # to write down. This company is a joke and the specialists who help are all overseas in India. They all need to be retrained, some fired for their lack of in experience and rudeness. I suggest using another prepaid card company if you can find one, I would not want anyone to go thru what I have been dealing with.

    I received Green Dot preloaded Visa debit cards from a family member who thought they were gift cards. I tried to activate the cards and Green Dot requires you to provide a social security number and date of birth to activate, which I thought was strange, so I used all 0's. When I got to the end and hit save, it said I can't activate. When I tried again, it then says my account number is invalid. The three numbers I tried for Green Dot, including the one online, does not put you through to a live person, only a recording so no one can help. There is no email or chat customer service option either. Green Dot Bank is scamming people by making their debit card look like gift cards. The buyer does not know that the recipient has to provide personal info in order to use the card or it is rendered invalid. If the recipient does not provide personal information, the card is then useless and Green Dot keeps the money. Do not buy or use Green Dot cards - they are a scam.

    I bought a 500$ reload card for MoneyPak reload through Green Dot. You can't use it unless you verify your identity with name address phone and SS# when I did this a message came up that said they could not verify my identity or my husband's. I have my card and matching receipt. Then they blocked access and said they were issuing a refund. Then after many attempts to call they send you back to site or disconnect call. Then ask my daughter to try loading on her unlimited Green Dot Visa. They said card was used. Finally she got through on her visa card phone number. They said, "You requested refund so you will get a check in 7 to 10 days." I asked to speak to a supervisor and she said they can't right now and will call me in 24 hours. Meanwhile my living and bill money is somewhere. I will never do business with this company again.

    I was with Green Dot for five years. My only complaint is that I don't think they did reverse credits as quickly as they could have. My pension deposits were on time or early. They support associates who's names were always fake... Were very helpful except when challenged with advertisement versus truths.. I no longer use green dot by would recommend them.

    With Green Dot unlimited it is easy enough to load money on the account for free but only at walmart, walgreens, cvs, and rite aid. Anywhere else charges a fee. Add that fee to the monthly service fee and wow. It's cheaper to have an actual checking account.

    When it first came out I thought it was a great way to send money and track payment for future needs. Since so many other companies now have the same concept, This card and its services are obsolete. It is also a time-consuming pain in the rear to deal with Walmart's customer service department as it is always so busy. Much easier to just buy a prepaid Visa or Mastercard at a grocery store especially when they offer reward points or dollars when you purchase. Also, accepted in more places than Green Dot.

    Green Dot continues to charge me a monthly fee, despite, I have a monthly Direct Deposit of $1200. I used to be able to file a complaint online. Now in order to get my money back, I have to snail mail them a paper complaint. They make it inconvenient to fight for it. I have had Green Dot for 5 years and this is the 7th or 8th time I have to demand the fee back. They also removed the feature that allows you to look back at payment history and pull up transactions by the company. This used to be a convenient debit account, but Green Dot has lost credibility with me.

    Green Dot Prepaid Cards can be very convenient for people who don't have a bank account. I personally used these cards when the banks couldn't be trusted. I had a checking account with one of the "big" banks. The bank was accused of stealing personal account information from their customers. So, I didn't trust banks for a very long time. You also hear about banks charging outrageous fees and doing annoying robotic calls. With the Green Dot prepaid cards, you have more control over your money. Who else is the most trustful with your money but you?

    I had unauthorized transactions on my account. I called them to dispute the transactions. My account was closed because of the fraudulent transactions. I had more money on my account. They would not send me a new card. I have to keep calling them, waiting on the investigation to be complete before they will send me a check for my available funds. They will not automatically send the check. I have to keep calling. If my account is closed and I have funds, why are you holding my money?

    August 10th 2020 I received my Sba loan onto my Green Dot card shortly after my account was flagged for unusual activity and up for review! I waited for multiple weeks to receive my loan only to have it put on hold and possibly lost because of where I had it deposited. My business has been greatly affected by the Corona Virus and it was a sigh of relief when I learned of the loan available to help small businesses get back on their feet! Now when I logged into my account tonight it says my account is closed after they had me send in my ID my business license and my proof of government funding eligibility. I am almost to the point of tears because of the devastation this all has been to my business that I'm on the brink of losing if this isn't situated ASAP!

    I noticed that my account balance wasn't right so I froze the account. I reported it On 7-28-20. I got a new card the following monday. I activated my new card and I tried to go my money card. Just get my money. My account was blocked so I called customer services and tried to get ahold of fraud dept. They can't connect me to them. I emailed and no luck so as of today they are holding 700.00 plus the bad charges.

    After about six months of trying to get at SBA loan that is very detrimental to my business staying afloat, I received my loan and it was funded onto my GreenDot card. Before I was able to receive any funds off of my card my card was blocked without any explanation. I sent it all the requested documents and extra and still have yet to see my card unblocked. Customer service has been very unprofessional, very rude, and very unhelpful. This money was sent to me by the government do to COVID-19 to help keep my business running and these people have taken my money and refusing to give it to me.

    Green Dot bank is a scam. They are closing accounts over ID verification even if you have the same name address. I'm so heartbroken that a company this big lacks customer service to the point no one answers phones and you're blocked from contacting anyone to help resolve issues. I'm out 5700 for my small business that I have to pay back. I've filed with BBB. Contacted them on Facebook and let SBA know what was going on. I guess we all are going to have to sue. Starting a blog newsletter on Facebook to get everyone together so we hire a lawyer and get our money back.

    Ok they blocked my card in December. It had over 500$ on it. Finally had that resolved and I got the money back even when I was told by customer service basically I was crap out of luck about receiving my money back because the card was locked and the money stays on there... That issue fixed. Now today go to check my card and it's locked again.called customer service and they said a Money Pak was loaded that didn't belong to me.     *This review specifically deals with my experience with Green Dot through their TurboTax Refund Cards, and is thus a review of both Intuit TurboTax and Green Dot's automated phone recordings. I have left the same review on TurboTax's page as well. First of all, I want to make something clear - this review is not a review of the PEOPLE who answer calls for TurboTax or GreenDot (GreenDot handles the refund cards and are a separate number). The people, in my experience, are fine - if you can actually talk to them. And that is the problem - getting to talk to a person can be virtually IMPOSSIBLE because of the way these recordings are set up.

    Both Intuit and GreenDot have systems which ask you about a few common issues and try their best to solve them without having to connect you to a person. This is not uncommon for a company, obviously. The problem is, when your problem is not adequately addressed by their "common issues" the machine will either ask you to explain further (which if it can't understand your issue, it will keep doing over and over again - the other day it probably repeated the question, "Can you be more specific" at LEAST 15 times before it let me talk to someone, by which point most people would probably give up - or in the case of GreenDot, it asks you for information which, if you don't have it, you are screwed.

    For example, when I tried to get information about my stimulus check, which was to be sent to my refund card, I could not do so because I did not have the card or know the number. (The reason for this is that I had shredded the card after being finished with it the previous year - I had no way of knowing that I would be getting a stimulus check in 2020 or of knowing the government would put it on my refund card without asking me). It let me enter my SSN, but then when the system realized I had more than one card (because I have gotten my refund this way each year and they always send a new card instead of reloading the old one), it said that I needed to enter the card number, even though I had just said that I do not know the card number.

    At this point, most recordings would give you the option to hold to speak to a person, but not GreenDot! They tell you to call back when you've got the number, and then they hang up on you. I have also called and been placed on hold multiple times for hours - yesterday it was two and a half hours when I finally hung up (this was for TurboTax). I have also had the website tell me that my password did not follow guidelines even though it very clearly did. I have also had it accept a password and then not let me use that new password.

    All issues which likely could have been resolved if I could have discussed them with a human being, but the process of getting to do so is insane. I finally figured out how to reorder a card at GreenDot after trying every few days for multiple weeks, and it involved me having to listen to the machine repeat itself several times in a specific place before finally changing its options, and even then I was never given the opportunity to speak to a person.

    My point is, sometimes you just have to talk to another human being. I understand trying to direct things to the correct department first or trying to solve things electronically to cut down on call volume so that employees can help more efficiently. But there HAS to be a way to reach a real person if necessary, and finding it shouldn't be nearly impossible. I do not think Intuit and GreenDot have necessarily designed these systems with ill intent. They actually seem more to me like errors of oversight. But how would they ever know to fix them if I can't contact someone to tell them what the problem is???

    I have dealt with many bad recording systems, but this is the first time I have been so frustrated, on multiple occasions, that I have been driven to go write a bad review simply for that one reason. I would much rather have dealt with them civilly, person-to-person on the phone, but they have made that very, very hard to do. So here we are. I hope someone from the company with some pull sees this. The current setup really might be the worst automated recording system I have ever experienced, even worse than Veterans Affairs, who once scheduled me a callback time after they were closed and called me back just so the machine could tell me that they were closed.

    I actually really like TurboTax as a product for helping me file taxes. It makes doing so very simple and quick! But God forbid I have a complicated issue. I guess if I paid $80 for the version with 24/7 tax help, maybe I could speak to a person then, but I don't think I should have to do that for the types of questions I am asking, since they aren't really about my taxes at all, just setting up an account and receiving my money.

    My GreenDot card was blocked on Tuesday June 23rd for “suspicious activity”. I called in and sent via email my identification (front&back), debit card, unemployment eligibility, a piece of mail with my name and address on it. I am unemployed and this is my only source of income. My rent money, bill money, and grocery money is all on this card. I have nothing!

    It has been 4 days and GreenDot has made no attempt to contact me to fix the issue. GreenDot refuses to transfer me to a supervisor and continuously hangs up on me. This is very inhuman and unethical to do during a pandemic. Unemployment stated nothing was wrong on my account as they has just paid me Tuesday. I have over 2 thousand dollars that I need for bills and rent. GreenDot is a fraudulent company who steals and lies to their customers! Horrible company. I just want my money and I will never do business with this company. I have already contacted the attorney general for Massachusetts as well as my representative Jim McGovern. I truly hope GreenDot understands they are literally stealing from low-income people who truly need the money.

I have sent in all verification documents asked of me, Every time I call in to speak to someone I get hung up on or the run-around with them. I have over $5,000 in my Green Dot account and have no access to my own funds. This company is getting away with way too much and people need to start stepping up to report them.     I recently deposited 500 onto a pre-paid Green Dot debit card and created an account. So until I got my personalized card in the mail you can only do soon many things with the original card. Well long story short once the card comes in I had some problems and ended up losing both of my cards. I tried calling customer support to fix the problem and they wasn't able to help me at all and only answer they had for me was someone from corporate would be contacting me within 2 days and they would be able to help me.

    So I got the call from corporate and all they did was verify it was me just to immediately connect me to an automated service that had very unclear options for me to choose from and once I did finally choose an option I was directed to enter my extension which I don't have. Since there was no way out I tried 0 for an operator and was told wrong ext. Goodbye and hung up leaving me to try calling back only to start the whole process all over again... I start with the first customer support that are only basically there. It seems to blow smoke up my ** and tell me I'll be getting a call in 2 days.

    I don't know what to do at this point. I've tried emailing explaining my problems only to be directed to call the same ** customer service number. It's a cycle over and over that has my account disabled and $500 unavailable for almost a month now. I've never in my 36 years ever wrote a review but maybe by doing this someone else will see and write one and so on until greendot fixes their scam they got running. I swear if I ever see a geendot employee on the street I'm going to take $500 out their ** ... ** greendot.

    Do NOT get a prepaid card from them.. They keep charging you a monthly fee long after you are closing the account.. On the phone they lie to you about waiving the fee and closing the acct, but the following month all feed add up again.. Worst of it, they have your SSN.. Also when you activate the card, they are opening a checking acct on your name too, without you asking for it, or even activate it!! Beware people, find someone else!!

    This Green Dot card is useless. I had 7,799. Deposited in my account. I went to ATM got $200 out 7am. It is now 5:38pm. I have called customer service 5 times today not 1 time have I understood them talking or have they fixed my problem of getting declined at gas stations, ATM. I wish I could close this account. If anyone knows a way to get my balance out of green dot please I begging you message me. One more thing I am suppose to buy a car tomorrow for $3500. I don't see that happening. I can't get $100 with a balance of $7660. And for the record it's not pending deposit. Funds are available. One Moe more customer service told me my card is fine. "It keeps getting declined."     Somehow my account was flagged and blocked for Moneypak issues in Feb. I sent all documents and account was unblocked. My second account was then blocked and I sent another set of documents to email c3@greendot... as asked by resolution dept. I was told I would receive an answer within 3 days. Well it's been 3 months and both accounts are blocked again. I even sent a letter and copies of all documentation to the headquarters in Pasadena CA. I have a tracking number to prove they received it. They claimed they needed to verify my identity but they also sent me a new card for one of the accounts to which I cannot activate.

    This all happened 3 months ago and I have not received any response. I want my prepaid accounts closed and my balances sent to me or my accounts to be unlocked so I can access my funds. I have my life savings in the unlimited account vault and cannot access that part of the system to see if my money is still there or not. Meanwhile I've been approved for a Green Dot credit card and my identity was verified no problem. Something is fishy here. Oh did I mention that they're still charging me a monthly fee for a service I cannot use and taking it from my balance every month?

    I purchased a Green Dot Cash Back VISA Debit Card recently, and at first things were great: good app, no issues, easy setup, etc. Then about a week in, Green Dot dropped a bomb on me. Within minutes of my tax refund being deposited, my account was blocked/frozen due to suspicious activity. As a result, the $4K I’d just received and was counting on to support my family is frozen.

    Per Green Dot, to unblock your card you need to submit a photo ID to confirm your identity. Well, my photo ID was stolen 4 days ago, and because of COVID-19 all of the DOL offices in WA are closed and a replacement license can only be had by ordering online and then waiting 10-14 days. I’m 2 days into that 10-14 days, have $8 to my name without my tax refund, and to top it off have two young stepchildren who need to eat and a wife with worsening multiple sclerosis. Suffice it to say, we will not last another 8-10 days without those funds. Green Dot: I understand your policies and the reason for them, but on a human level what you’re doing is so wrong. Please, do the right thing and give me immediate access to my funds. It’s the only right thing to do.

    Updated on 7900100: They sold me a MoneyPak and I couldn't get it to work. I couldn't get a live person on the phone if my life depended on it. I finally got a refund by check today because they sold me a defective product. I was beginning to think the problem was me but I received a check that was short the fee. What the ____ did I pay the fee for just to get a refund short the fee.

    Original review: I'm only writing to this to maybe get the attention of GreenDot. I bought a MoneyPak to Deposit to my Checking Account and the problems are endless. I just get a, "Sorry for the inconvenience but we can't do anything to help you." Get errors when I sign up for an account, get errors when I try to fill out their forms, Get emails returned undeliverable. What is the problem. I can't even get somebody on the phone. I just get run in circles. This is driving my nuts. I really feel like I must be broken. You shouldn't take peoples money and then go on vacation. Like how do I talk to a person. Dont say call this number that just sends you on endless prompts. It's upsetting to feel so aggravated by anything to do with GreenDot.

    What do I have to do. Use snail mail to get a response from someone. There is nobody. Not Ralphs where I bought it either at the store or corporate that can help. Chime is the account I bought it for and they wont help. The only people that I can get on the phone can't do anything. A simple cash deposit that's all I want. What is sooo hard. I would avoid this company like the plague. It sucks to feel stuck with no way to get money. I don't want to say bad things about a company and If I can delete this after they work it out then I will. I wish there was a way to privately put my phone number.

    I made an on line purchase from Walmart. When I I went to pick up my order I was told that it was not in stock. The charge already appeared on my card as pending. That was 8 days ago and the charge is still there. You can't dispute a pending charge. You can't talk to a real person, and forget about emailing them. It is so frustrating!

I filed out the dispute forms as required then I received an email from Green Dot that says I've gotta wait 10 days to find out IF they're gonna give me money back.     Do not. I repeat. Do not do any business with Green Dot Prepaid Debit Cards! I have recently had to hire a lawyer too in order to begin my lawsuit against green dot bank after gathering proof of theft and I'm talking real thefts done by them, not mistakenly nor by errors, I mean like they have been straight up robbing my money out of my account using their “pending transactions” tactic.

    Ever noticed after making purchases especially like online purchases that normally the retail store or company you buy from will put a “hold” on the amount of money your purchase totaled to. Well after these holds are on the bank will deduct whatever amount that hold is for out or your account balance, meanwhile the transaction still shown as pending will sit for a few days and finally when the transaction is completed by either being shipped or transaction approved, it will then fall off of as “pending” and fall into the normal purchase transactions but it will deduct the same amount of money *again* from your acct. Basically meaning you will be charged twice for the same exact transaction because they probably think Nobody pays attention to that but that’s where they are wrong!!

    After noticing that my account balances never matched up to my calculations of how much I knew I should of had, I began to pay more attention to what was happening like I would order something online and automatically a hold would be placed for the transaction total of purchase (Ex.) $102.and my balance would go from (Ex.) $300to then $198. Then a few days later after the transaction was finally accepted or my order was shipped to me the hold would come off and **again** charging me $102. Leaving my new balance at $96. So like I said I was being charged more than once for the same transaction! Once I discovered that I started keeping a log of all transactions and New balances and yup sure enough they kept doing it. And I kept record of it all and proof.

    I got a Green Dot card online. Was told my account info and was approved and a card was on its way. While waiting to receive the card I was giving the account info and was told that you can begin receiving funds. I now have 3 going on 4 weeks of unemployment on the account and I'm STILL waiting on a card first card waited 10 days called and was told the 2nd card would be sent out FedEx and would receive in 3 days.

    Today is the 7 day waiting on FedEx called and was told a 3rd card was going out today and I will receive in 3 days. My kids are hungry and I have bills and need my unemployment FedEx has delivered things to me while i was waiting for card so my address is good. I got a NetSpend card in the mail while waiting for greendot to send theirs. I will be switching my account information for my unemployment to NetSpend.

    Prepaid debit card accounts. You have to pay $4.00 -$5.00 for the card when you first load funds. There is also an minimum load amount on top of that fee. Also includes monthly "maintenance fees" charges that will continue to charge you every month. People don't realise that after you drain the card up and even if you have no account activity, If you do not think to deactivate your account a negative balance will continue to accumulate. The bank is all online so there is nothing physical that they even maintain. It's sneaky and unfair. And it's probably effecting my credit after I've opened an additional 5 of these card accounts in my name. It's sad that it is cheaper to just pay for a new card than it is to find a place to charge me another 5.00 reload fee and then still need to pay off the negative balance from the original card.

    Total scam. When I filed my 2019 tax return with Tax Slayer I chose a debit card through Green Dot bank. I can’t get my money at all for my federal tax return. I call no answer, online locked also. It’s $7.95 each month unless you deposit a $1000.00 a month. How can I do business with a bank that has me locked out. No one in my community honors Green dot. Walmart did now they stopped honoring Green Dot at their in store ATM. The worst part is now they have my Federal stimulus check. So now they have scammed me for twice on Federal money that I earned as a taxpayer and now the Covid stimulus check. I have told person after person how crooked they are. Most people all were aware of this scandalous false malicious so called an FDIC bank. Even scamming the Federal government.

So I figured it would get pushed back a month, now I can count and it is April 18th which would have made me well over my annual. I never received $250 that I was supposed to get from them. I figured okay since the day is the 18th and it makes my 12 months let me pay my $10 fee to my card and see if they will give me my money.

    I went through hell and back just to put the money on my card due to the coronavirus and nothing. All day long I have been checking. I'm just wondering where is my money since I had my card ever since February of 2019. I am very upset because I earned that money myself. I really like you guys but enough is enough of stealing people money and making people have to call your 1-800 number when we know that we are not going to talk to customer service. This is not fair to the single parent there are out here struggling hard. In a short time I have spent well over probably $5,000 loading my card up over a year. I am not understanding this.     I have a right (Freedom of Speech) to share my factual experience so here it is from start to finish. I had filed a complaint and Green Dot basically responded with they had tried calling me to discuss a resolution, couldn't get a hold of me, and that was that. Initial Complaint: My daughter was charged unknown maintenance fees. Contacted customer service; they did nothing about it. My daughter, who is currently 16 years old, needed a way to use her $60 debit card that she received as a gift and she recommended Green Dot. So, I signed her up on the mobile app but neither of us realized that she'd be charged a monthly fee of $7.95, even when there was no balance.

    Daughter had used up the $60 debit card amount and then sold some of her artwork for $29.88 and couldn't figure out why she had less than that to begin with. That's when we noticed being charged $7.95 maintenance fees. Therefore, I contacted customer service via chat. I asked for a refund of the fees and to cancel the account. I was told the account was cancelled and a supervisor would be calling me within 24 hours to discuss the refund. I was never contacted. In addition, I tried to view the old chat history to double-check information and of course, there is no history."

    The results of Green Dot's investigation are as follows: Green Dot Corporation attempted to contact Ms. L.G. on March 23, 2020 however, attempt was unsuccessful. Because the above referenced complaint matter addresses information that is potentially sensitive or confidential, Green Dot requests for Ms. L.G. to contact Green Dot Customer Service Hotline directly for further assistance. Green Dot sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience Ms. L.G. may have experienced. Should Ms. L.G. have any additional questions or concerns, she may contact Green Dot directly, Monday through Friday from 5:00am to 6:00pm Pacific Time.

    My Rebuttal: No, I do not accept the response from the business. My requests to satisfy this issue are clearly spelled out in the complaint. In addition, I was able to call the company back tonight and spent one hour, thirty seven minutes, and forty three seconds on hold before they were to close for the day and I have screenshots to prove it. Green Dot's Final Response: Following the receipt of Ms. L.G.'s complaint, a supervisor from Green Dot Corporation reviewed the concerns that were shared. Green Dot appreciates the time taken to make contact and regrets that Ms. L.G.'s expectations were not met.

    Someone opened a account in my name in order to steal my taxes. I found out about it and contacted Green Dot fraud unit on March 18, 2020. I was told to email them my ID and rental agreement and I would receive a check in the mail in 10 days which didn't happen. I called back on the 5th of April and was told it wasn't process and she was processing it and to give it another 2 weeks. A supervisor called me in the 8th of April and told me it was process and to expect it in two weeks. I called back today. April 16, 2020 and was told I won't be getting my check by mail and to contact IRS. Green dot been holding my taxes for a month and been giving me the runaround.

    Before the Covid-19 breakout I was 100% satisfied with Green Dot. Now it's -100%. A week before the covid-19 outbreak my card was hacked and purchases I did not make started appearing. I called in they put a block on my card and sent me a new one. A week later the new card arrives but will not activate. I try to call in and over the next week I spend an average of 3 hours on hold. Now if you call you get a recording that say to get o online. When you get online a screen pops up telling you to call. The app is no longer working. I have sent dozens of emails with no response. Best part is they are still charging the monthly fee. DO NOT use Green Dot EVER!!!! As soon as I can I am getting my money off that card and going to a trustworthy and dependable bank. These guys are complete thieves and should NOT be trusted with a single penny.

I have filed multiple complaints with federal agencies and sent multiple emails to green dot and still no response. They have my stimulus payment. DO NOT use this company!!     I funded my account to receive their advertised 3% and haven't received the debit/atm card. I could not find any option to get my money back if needed so I did not fund the account any further. All efforts to find out how to get my money have gone unanswered. I have tried email and got autorepsonse saying they will reply. All telephone calls are not answered and if select a option the phone call dies. This appears to be a willfull action on their part to make it almost impossible to get money back. I will file complaint with state and federal banking authorities.

    I haven't been able to log into my account since 4/12/2020. I don't know my balance, I can't use it to go purchase food, etc... we are quarantined in the house, and I the head of household can't even get us dinner because I can't use my card, my Green Dot card that my direct deposit was just put on. You can't call into the company, you can't email the company, I just feel robbed. If I don't get to my money by some point today, I am calling a lawyer!!!!

    I do not recommend using this card at all. My experience has been stressful and very concerning. They are always having technical difficulties both online and via phone, not giving you access to your funds or to view your account. When you are trusting a company with your money, you want to make sure they provide you the best services ensuring that you can trust them with your funds, and I don't feel as though I want to trust this company because they are too risky.

    For 4 days I've been trying to access my cash through the ATM and it will not let me get a penny. It says I reached my ATM cash limit which is ridiculous because I haven't got any money out of ATM. You can't reach anybody on the phone because that number just brings you through the automated crap and will not let you pick any selection speak to a human. I've tried every combination. Your email they do not answer you but yet I still cannot access the cash in my account and I am one of thousands of people having this issue currently. This is so wrong.

    How can you hold people's money and leave them no way to communicate with you to report a problem to resolve it? How are they supposed to live if they cannot access her money apparently green.     The customer service sucks. They can't help with anything. I have been waiting on a new card for 2 weeks now and the only thing they can say to me is that there is nothing they can do until I receive the new card. I have bills that are due and can't access my money. I have called everyday and now the number on the back of the card will not allow me to talk to anyone. I have called every number for Green Dot and it's the same message on all of them without a option to speak to anyone. I'm about to be evicted, and bills are steady piling up.     I get 2 Green Dot ($1000) cards while I was traveling for work without my id. I make 1 purchase then they blocked my card. I had to go to the state my id was from and got stuck here with no money and losted my job because I can't get my money out my account because they want verify which should have never been blocked my account. I'm on the streets of Chicago and I live in Miami and I sent even the receipts to them just give me my money that I put on the card, as the contract states if you can verify then I should be able to spend to money that I put on the card.     Do not do business with this bank. They are liars and thieves. I got an email from them 2 days ago that my SSA check was received but no money. I called them and they keep tell they haven't received anything from SSN even though I have an email stating they have and SSN says they have. So evidently they stole my money. When I ask to speak to a supervisor they hang up on me. SSN is tracing it and will probably initiate a fraud complaint. I'm calling the local law enforcement and filing a police report. Beware do not use this bank for anything. You will be lied to at every point.

    Card has been locked for a month now. Was told to call back and it would be unblocked but no one never picks up the phone when you call ever. It’s always a automated service. I’ve missed out on income tax and two paychecks because of this. I’ve called and emailed with no help. The banks are not closed because of the corona virus. This is ridiculous.     Green Dot is the only card that I can easily reload. Plus, I live right next to a store that reloads easily and it’s easy to get my refund sent to it. Other than that, I will be burning and melting my Green Dot card. They are kind of unreasonable with charging that high of a card fee especially when you got people using it who have low income. It takes $5 to get us bread, lunch meat and some ramen easily. But that $5 is being taken away to pay for a card fee. So, that hurts a lot of families including people like myself. They keep charging that fee every single month but if the fee doesn't go through the first month, it’s not gonna go through the second or the third.     I made a bill payment online with Turbo card March 2, 2020, to someone I trust in the amount of four-thousand dollars. Turbo did not issue the four-thousand dollar payment on the date turbo said that they would which was March 10, 2020. The person I tried to send the money to has shown me their online banking and has Contacted their bank in front of me, so I contacted turbo card support. First, they said give them two days then I asked to speak with a supervisor because my money should just be released back to me if they didn't give it to the person that I told turbo to give it to. The supervisor said, "Your money will be on your card in five days Tuesday, March 17th, 2020."

    Today is Tuesday. My money is still not on my card. They are giving me the run around for my money but I have bills to pay before the end of March and the customer support of turbo card has been of no help at all. Today I was on wait for four hours their blaming corona for their unethical behavior. God bless everyone who scammed by these people. I will be filing a lawsuit.

    I recently ordered a Green Dot debit card to use with my tax refund. Well the card came up missing and tried to order a new one. Well you can't ever get to anyone to request a new card. I tried to send money to 2 different bank accounts and then tried sending money to my phone number. So I receive a text saying I received the money by phone but still won't let you send it to a bank account or another debit card. You have 3 options to get the money. Buy another green dot card, Walmart Money Card or a Go Bank card. I chose the walmart money card which I bet is issued by green dot. So I buy the card and go to register it and it says at this time your name and info cannot be verified. So I still have no way to get the money. The text green dot sent saying I have received money doesn't even have a cancel transaction option. This bank is awful.

    I purchased a camera lens yesterday from Amazon and an initial hold of $230 was placed on my account which sends normal. However, about 12hrs later, ANOTHER hold of $230 hit my account and shortly afterwards, Amazon tried to charge the correct amount of $246 to ship the lens but the 2nd hold charge took my account to $22 so the actual "charge" of $246 couldn't go through.     My card was compromised on 02/24/20. I filed a dispute the same day, and I sent an email with other information requested. I was then told it would take 10 business days for a response. I called on the 6th which was the 10th business day and I immediately asked to be transferred to the dispute department. “Roxie” answered the phone and asked for my card number and phone number. I provided all of the correct information, and was told some bs talking about that isn’t the phone number on file. Which is bullcrap considering that’s the number that I always use. I then asked for a manager and was told that since she was unable to validate my account that I was unable to speak to a manager. What the freak!!!!

    I then hung up and “ming or long” answered the phone and I asked for a manager. She asked why did I need to speak to a manager and I told her that every time that I’m transferred that I I’m being lied to and told that they aren’t able to validate my account. She then asked for my phone number which is the same number that I’ve been giving. She then said that she was unable to verify my account and due to security reasons I wouldn’t be able to speak with a manager. I called back the next day and they said the same thing.

    Fast forward to 03/09/20 I opened a chat online and inquired about a provisional credit since it was the 10th business day. I was then told that they were still working on my account. I then opened a new chat and was told that my dispute was denied and they wouldn’t give an explanation as to why. I then opened a new chat asking for the reason why it was denied. I was then told it was not granted due to invalid authorized transaction. I then asked for proof and was told that I did authorize the transaction. I still didn’t receive any proof. Later I received an email saying that based on relevant information, including transaction and account history no error was found. What the freak!!!! It's a shame that I have to even go through this and on. Top of that I’m being accused. I will find a lawyer because this has caused me pain and stress. These people don’t care about anyone.

    I got a prepaid card for my tax refund, I received the card promptly by mail and was thinking this will go great. My funds were loaded a day early. Awesome right!? Then next thing I know I had someone fraudulently use my card and they got into the online account so I had no way of checking anything. I called. They said they would issue a new card.     I went with Green Dot mostly for my prepaid. I got an unlimited one for online and it helped save a couple of bucks while I pay bills and everything else online. Also, I'm able to keep track of my finances through the app, which I like for the most part. The only thing is I have two different Green card accounts and it would be nice if I could transfer money between the two of them. Other than that, I don't have to worry about carrying cash and I get paid on Thursdays instead of Fridays like everyone else. Also, the vault came in really handy when I lost my wallet one time.     I rented a UHAUL using my Greendot Card, UHAUL put a hold of 52.40 on card and charged me 65.40, two days later the 65.40 was taken from my Green Dot account.. perfect. The 52.40 hold was released.. but there is another 88.80 "pending" charge from UHAUL. I called Green Dot to see if they are holding more. They told me no, UHAUL made another transaction, call UHAUL. I did, UHAUL customer service assured me no other transactions, and offered me to go to the place I rented and they would physically show me a search of my card...which they did.

    UHAUL was very upfront and transparent. ONE, again ONE transaction for 65.40 in their system. They even printed out a copy for me. I called Green Dot again and they tell me there is a pending transaction from UHAUL. INCORRECT. The date is now MARCH 10, Green Dot advised they will refund on MAY 11, are you kidding me MAY 11? So Green Dot basically stole my money. I want to thank UHAUL for being so helpful. Be aware of how Green Dot works. I have been a customer with them for about one year and NOTHING but trouble. Customer Service can never answer a question. If you ask to speak to a supervisor, they just give you a runaround and you never get to speak to one. I offered to email proof from UHAUL. Green Dot does not care. It is really awful that they treat customers this way.

    I've had been using my Green Dot reloadable prepaid card for 2 years. I have not had a problem in 2 years! I have even had my tax returns directly deposited onto my account without any issues for the last 2 years! Today I went to go reload my card again at Cumberland Farms in Hyannis Massachusetts. I do this often probably five to six times a week! The lady working scanned the wrong GreenDot Reload card or she scanned activate a GreenDot card?? I have no idea what she scanned. She had so many prepaid activating Reload cards behind her register she was so confused! All I know is she didn't scan the card she was supposed to to get the money into my account! She made a big mistake! I have no idea where she put all my cash I just handed her!! The funds did not go into my account!

    As soon as I received my receipt from the cashier I told her, "This is not my account number!" She said, "Sorry there's nothing I can do!" She said I have to call Green dot! I had to file a lost money claim and now I do not have my cash! So basically I handed the cashier all of my money today to put onto my card like they have done day after day before so I could pay my bills and she made a mistake and I did not get my money! She would not refund me my cash! I cannot pay my bills or feed my daughter or even put gas in my car because GreenDot literally took all of my money! I am devastated. I'm waiting to hear from GreenDot again tomorrow!

    I will never use this card again! I'm a single mother. I cannot give people large amounts of money and they lose it! If I don't get anywhere tomorrow with Green Dot I will be calling the police and pressing charges! I honestly believe the cashier loaded my money onto her own personal card!     I had an account with Navy Federal, but I’ve been having trouble with them unlocking my account after the court had taken off the hold on it. I’m still fighting with them. Green Dot seemed like an easy and faster way to get my checks cashed to me. It’s also easier to not want to use the money I have in there. I’m a delivery driver for Jimmy Johns and I get paid in tips and in checks. I use the checks in my account to pay off bills because I have the card. And then, the cash, I use for everything else.

    However, I’m struggling to figure out is how to reload money onto it. Also, the Cash App would not accept my card. I thought that I wasn't gonna try with that again. Facebook won't accept it either. I have to get my husband and get the cash, which is a bit of a pain. But other than that, I’ve been very pleased with Green Dot. I’ve told my friends that if you do direct deposits with Green Dot Prepaid Cards, a lot of times, you’ll get it before other people and other banks do. There might be a monthly charge, but it comes out on the same day and there are no hidden fees. You know exactly how much it’s gonna be.

    This card is great until you have to contact them or have issues with unscrupulous merchants. I've have had this card almost a year with the annual cash back option. 4/2019 when I purchased the card it had a cash back offer of $250 by 10/2019. I met all of the requirements and met the goal of $250, all I had to do was wait until the anniversary date in 4/2020. Come 12/2020 when I signed into my account it said my cash back reward is now $100. What changed? I called to find out what the issue was and was told they'd research it. A couple of days later I received an email stating they didn't see anything wrong with the card and that I may continue to use it.

    The straw that broke the camel's back... I have disputed a transaction with a company that I'm finding out is taking money from people left and right AFTER cancelling a trial within the time frame. The reply to my dispute was they didn't see anything fraudulent. B.S. All you all to do is input the company name and reviews and there it is. Lesson learned. I have to be careful with whom I do business with and bank with.

    I got my Green Dot for a birthday present a couple of years back and got a letter in the mail about the personalized card. So I ordered the personalized card and I've been using it ever since. And I like it a lot. I love the app too. The app makes it so easy, with the Stash, for the Vault and going into the savings account, not like exactly having to have a separate savings account like a bank, but it's just all right there and you can move the money without having to wait. And doing my instant direct deposit with my work is awesome too. I get my check two days early. It's fantastic and that's really easy as well. And the fees aren't that bad for everything that you get with the card. It's an awesome card. I like it more than a bank here, even though there's no local branch.     I've always used Green Dot for holding extra monies and paying some of my bills. Recently I bought a Green Dot Visa card at my local Walgreens. I did my taxes and made a direct deposit on just said card. My taxes of $9,360 was deposited onto my card. The problem is I never received my personalized card in the mail. I ordered another one and I'm still waiting for it. But because of this I have no way to access my funds or should I say my "available" balance. Which nation in call it because it is not available without my personalized card. I have recently lost my husband and a tragic accident and he left behind two small children that I'm alone to care for. We also lost our home because of the death. Now I'm sitting here scrounging for change not knowing what's going to be the next meal for my kids all because I chose to use Green. For my tax refund. I will never use Green Dot again or any associated brand.

    I've been on hold for 4 days over a dozen times waiting for over 45 minutes or more and never got to talk to a person on the phone. They need to revamp their policies and make it more convenient for customers. I've been a consistent customer of green dots for the last 4 years. I actually have three different cards that I am canceling as soon as I get my money. I had high hopes and good impressions of this company and now the situation has caused me to never one to affiliate myself or use as company again.

    Make sure you activate or get your personalized card otherwise you won't be able to touch your money. The app tells me my card is at my local post office but my post office says it's not. I can't win. But I know if I don't have my money in my hand within the next week I'm calling my attorneys, the BBB, and any consumer company I can get ahold of. It's a shame because I hate making bad reviews. But this has been the most frustrating week of my life dealing with constant calls with no ability to speak to anybody and no ability to touch mine money which is almost $10,000. I will never use this company again!

    I've been with Green Dot for almost two years now and my finances has been a lot better because I don't have overdraft and I don't have to pay all that money now because it is more controlled. So I save a lot of money. The card is really easy to use. I love that you can go online and see all of your information. I have the app on my phone so it’s really, really, really helpful.     I have had direct deposit for 4 years. My paycheck and my IRS refund. On 02/26/2020 they returned my IRS refund for apparent no reason other than address different. When I called to speak with them after being on hold over 2 hours, the rep was rude and hung up on me. He verified the information was correct but he was not willing at all to fix it.     I've used Green Dot for a year to test it out and it was convenient for keeping money separate or to put aside savings. I've used it online and for bill pay. I've also used direct deposit, which was pretty easy. When I lost a card, they charged me $5 to get a new card, which was was a little frustrating. I didn’t like that. However, they have a cashback feature. They kinda put away a little every month, and then you get some cash back at the end of the year.

    The Green Dot app is about all I use. With it, you could see how much is there. Other than that, the app doesn’t work. If you need to dispute something, you can’t because it doesn’t ever work. Sometimes when you wanna go look at how much is on there, you can’t because the app isn’t working. And when I interacted with the customer service, it took forever.     I do the 12-month thing with Green Dot where you can reach a $100 bonus every 12 months. I've already received one and in six months, I'm up for another one. There was one problem I had with Green Dot though. When I lost my card, it took them almost 10 days to get me another card. My money was tied up for almost 10 days. I couldn't do anything. It was crazy. It was unacceptable. My wife was saying I should get an account at a real bank. But this is a real bank, I guess. Plus the reps did what they could do. That was pretty much the policy or the procedure and there wasn't much they could do. So I just had to deal with it.

    My money was safe and secure. The thing is just the turnaround time. There ought to be something where if I lose my card, I could get a card delivered to me the next day – some of kind of expedited something. I've never had any other issues as far as with money and with Green Dot. I'm still using it today. I first heard about Greed Dot from Family Feud, with Steve Harvey, and I trust him.

    I liked the fact that, with Green Card, they said I could get paid up to two days sooner, then also that I could do the earning. Once you spend so much, if you shop online or you shop through certain apps, you earn money. But you have to wait 12 months then once the 12 months -- you get to cash out the $100. That’s super amazing. I really like it. It is very beneficial. I already cashed out and it was around my niece’s baby shower so I was able to really go all out on her. So it’s pretty cool. I’m on my seventh month now.

    I like that I can control my money and Green Dot is prepaid. I like that I have a vault to where I can move my money or save it and use it when I need to. I do it through the app and nobody can access that but myself. So I’m totally in control of my money.     I have had the Green Dot card for almost 6 months. I kept it for an easy ways to transfer my Paypal funds to one account so I can store it all on one easy card. I recently received many funds from friends for an emergency. I piled all my funds in about 260.00 into the card. In my move, I had been in and out of my current location, and all around the city. I must have dropped the spare wallet from my wheel chair somewhere local, because once I did a final check and see what funds I had pooled together I see that I had no funds.

    I filed a dispute online and, since it was savings and not an immediate emergency, I waited to call and check on it. I called around day 8 or so to make sure things were going smoothly, to hear that it had been closed. I demanded a reason why, which was explained to me that it was because it was in my geographical location??? I asked if someone is supposed to be in Egypt to steal from me? According to Green Dot nobody in your neighborhood could ever steal from you. Not to mention it looked like my card was attempted and credited back at the merchant. This credit back according to green dot shows that I should go to the merchant instead for a refund???

    Am I supposed to wheel.my wheelchair to this local grocery store and demand money back for purchases and stuff for things I never did or authorize. Plus the letter sent to me seems to insinuate that the 1.08 return to the card is suffice for the 200 something dispute...Why am I supposed to do the "foot work" in my wheelchair. Now they won't do anything unless I get a police report? I asked if green dot will pay for my taxi to the police station, since on a low income, I can't afford travel, do not drive, and the medical cab doesn't supply a taxi for such issues. I'm disgusted by greendot's quick and easy dismissal of my issue, as if they really don't care about the consumer and don't protect anyone. They look for any excuse not to help and just want to end any concern quickly.

She gets her paycheck a day before and she also told me that if you pay some bills online and if you go to some retail stores and buy some stuff, you would get cashback. I found that cool and it’s pretty convenient for me, so I went and opened an account. Even though it’s just a checking, we’re able to save and put away money if we wanted to and then it would be locked. If I just received my taxes and I put my taxes into the saved part, it would be helpful because that way, I don’t have to go through all that hard stuff with changing.     I had a refund of $70 from a passport agency that I paid Jan 17th but no longer needed their services. Was told that I would have a refund in my account 3-7 business days. It's been 3 weeks. When I contacted Green Dot Bank after a wait of 2hr I finally got someone. I explained my concerns and noted that I keep copies of my all transaction and highlighted where the $70 was taken out but nothing was deposited after the 7th day..They told me the refund was deposited in my account the next day Jan 18th. I know that's a lie cause I been checking everyday for my refund and I don't see any Transaction for that Refund so I asked that he email me a copy of that transaction cause I don't see that on my end. Greendot explained that it was and nothing they could do then hang up. Passport agency explained that my refund was released within the 3-7 business days as promised and I should contact my bank.. Smh.

I called customer service and was promised a refund in the mail. After calling daily to check on it, Now they are saying it was added to someone else's account. This is devastating for me.     I like My Green Dot card as it's very convenient. I like the fact that I can use the app and keep an eye on my money. If I have bills that are connected to my card, I can see when it is taken out so I won’t double pay for it. The direct deposit is good too and I like it as well because I could see the history like exactly when it goes in and how much it is.

    I used Money Network before and they didn’t have what Green Dot has. They didn’t have feature where you can switch money over from the check to the savings mode. But there's a money app where people send money from their account to somebody else’s account, and I feel that Green Dot should have that where people can send money to friends because when I tried to do it, it wouldn't let me. I was told I have a prepaid card and I can do that.

    Green Dot has done pissed me off.... My company issues Money Network cards for our paychecks.... With the company issued card I received my check at 9pm Monday night. Technically payday is Tuesday but I've been getting my check on Monday night. I just switched to green dot because they advertise get paid 2 days earlier etc.. Here it is 142am Tuesday and still no check. I should have just stayed with money network. Green dot charges monthly fees and additional atm fees and they do not pay early in fact they pay LATE. I urge anyone who uses green dot to get away from it asap. Not to mention they do not tell you there is a pending deposit.
