    I had a purchase refunded to my Green Dot Visa personalized card. When I tried to login to the mobile app it said my account was blocked pending further review. I called the customer service number on the back of my card as was on hold for 2 hours. My call was never answered. I use my card to pay bills and I can't now because of this inconvenience and poor customer service experience!!

    After finding out that my cards were stolen totaling $2000 (4 cards) I immediately froze my cards by calling support early morning only to wait 3 hours on hold. Finally I was able to reach someone (not in the US) and said they would look into the matter and were going to send a check with the balance. Their claims team calls 2 days later only to retake all the information I sent prior to. In the times I had to call them back (waiting hours each time) I couldn't even reach an operator without entering the frozen information which it didn't recognize and promptly booted me off the line.

    When their claims team did get back to me I asked for phone numbers that would bypass this problem and ended up sending me two promising they were not machines. One number was another automation and the other was a Walmart number unrelated. Unable to reach them they finally contacted me, not by phone but by email to an unmonitored inbox saying that they were not responsible for the loss. So now I can't call them, I can't email them nor do I have any info on transactions and balances. Done by the thief. DO NOT USE GREEN DOT! Take your money elsewhere! They are thieves just as much as the thief that took the money!

    Despite multiple attempts to contact customer service to cancel this card I have been on hold for upwards of 45 minutes without ever being able to speak with representative. Filed BBB complaint in addition. Do not trust this company with your money. The customer service is unacceptable.

    I am a single 29 year old female writer/travel enthusiast who often times finds myself needing a pre-paid card when awaiting arrival of my usual means of credit payment simply isn't available. I rely on these methods to pay for car services, hotel bookings, and online treats. I have never in my years of utilizing and relying on any prepaid card found myself dealing with such rudeness, hostility, and incompetence as I encountered this past week. First off, I purchased the card exactly a week ago and tried the online method for 3 days before giving it a rest for a couple of days and trying again. "Invalid Card" was the message I kept receiving over and over before the system completely shut me out after several "failed attempts." They told me after the THIRD CALL that the "HOLD" on my card had been lifted and to try again. They ushered me to "TRY AGAIN."

    I told them I would not try "One more time" out of fear of being locked out of the system for 24 hours. The lady, who I was transferred to 3 TIMES mistook what I said and quickly uttered I would have to try again after the 24 hour hold had lifted. I asked them the amount of the transaction because they were to issue me a refund check, and they couldn't tell me. This leads me to believe there was actually never a refund check. Collectively, I spent around 4 hours being transferred to, and many times transferred back to the same party only to have to start from the very beginning as if little to no notes on my inquiry were taken. They keep track of how many times you call and label you in a category of "not able to help" and hang up on you altogether, however, never handling the issue.

    They were quite invasive as to my personal information. Current address, social security number, receipt, store number I visited, and some other information I choose not to keep on my person for safety reasons. Remember, I am a single female who travels alone. There would be no point in purchasing this card and relieving myself of cash that night had I kept a paper trail of what was on the card. They were not nice, nor understanding, nor did anything get solved. The lady I spoke to last got really spooked that I was recording the phone call and asked me if I was and soon hung up on me. I relied on that money on the card that day and was left high and dry without apology and certainly no promise of problem resolution bound to occur. They did not even ask for an e-mail address.

    This is a scam as far as I am concerned, and I am really lucky I am a resourceful lady and have no one else dependent on me such as children. I can only imagine the situations people find themselves in as a result of the neglect of this corporation and alongside an utterly unapologetic and rude customer service who think that keeping people away from their money who had no other choice other than to entrust their funds with Green Dot is okay and a "two week delay" receiving little to no or "partial payment" reconciliation for troubles encountered completely senseless and tragic in today's consumer's market. I am ashamed for the people who work there and I never would look down upon one's choosing to place food on their table. It may have been a couple hundred bucks to Green Dot, but to me, it was my meal ticket home that day.

    I honestly wish that zero stars was an option considering everything that I've been through dealing with this company for this month alone. About a week and a half ago I spoke to someone about the fact that I had yet to receive my personal card. The gentleman I spoke to was very polite and helped me to change the address to where I am living at the moment, and informed me that I'd reported the card that had been sent to the wrong address as lost or stolen. At this time I have yet to receive my card and when I sent an Email about not receiving the card, it told me to report the card as not received.

    When I tried, the site claimed that it had not had the card sent back and wanted me to report the card as stolen or missing. It costs five dollars for the card to be replaced, and I refuse to WASTE another five dollars on something that I should already have received. I am extremely dissatisfied with their way of handling a customer's issues, and I intend to pay the overdraft fees on the card then I will wash my hands with this company. I'm sure there are more reputable companies that won't be a complete scam like this company has been.

    I bought 4 cards at my local Walmart for my kids during vacation. I was unable to register the cards when I got home. Said they were already registered. Was on hold with Green Dot for over 7 hours before they gave me an email address to send my documents to that my emails will not go through to. Now I can't even get on hold with them again. It just gives me the runaround and then hangs up. I spent $1800 for our first vacation in years. I'm so heartbroken.

    I have not used my account in 2 years and accidentally deposited my taxes to the account. I no longer have the card due to losing it while moving. I am unable to get a live human on the phone to try and figure this out. It has been over a week that I have been trying. I am at my wit's end with this company. Everything asked for the last 4 digits of the card. I DO NOT HAVE THE CARD TO GIVE THE LAST 4 DIGITS.

    Today on my way to my son's school, I stopped to grab breakfast and my card was declined. Being aware of my account balance I knew this had to be a mistake. After 3 attempts at purchasing breakfast for my kid, I finally had no choice but to leave and investigate this matter. I immediately attempted to log into my account and was denied access. I then made an attempt to call the customer service number and was told that I needed to send a photo copy of my I.D to unlock my card. At this point I'm angry. My card worked perfectly fine yesterday, and now 1 day before my family's spring break vacation I can't access ANY OF MY MONEY?!

    I wasn't notified of a security breach, a service check, a scheduled account verification check... NOTHING. I haven't received any explanation for my account being blocked. I have an entire trip planned for my family this weekend and we are scheduled to leave tomorrow night. Tell me how am I suppose to provide for my family this week? Tell me how can I show my son and stepson a good time while on vacation if I can't PAY FOR ANYTHING? Tell me how am I suppose to function properly and conduct my day normally without the financial means to provide for myself and my family TODAY? I need answers because this unacceptable. I can't get anyone on the phone to even explain this matter me. I'm forced to speak with a robot as if my concern isn't important and like I'm not a valued Green Dot member.

    I recently purchased this card to pay for a hotel stay. I had forgot my charge cards at home, and hotel had to have a credit card on file. Wow, what a mistake. I wish I would have read reviews before I purchased this worthless card. I put $200 on the card, tried to register the thing, says that the card is not valid. Call the numbers provided with the card, I get hung up on, because my card is not valid. However, I have a receipt from the store that I purchased from. I refuse to lose my money. If I have to contact an attorney and pay for this piss poor company to take notice, I will do just that. So damn tired of companies and people taking advantage of "we the people". Time to take a stand of what is right.

    I am disgusted with the customer service. My Mother has this card at my recommendation for her SSI to be deposited and she received a refund for $538 yesterday due to her U-Haul trailer catching fire when moving here with me. She used her funds last night and today totaling 3 transactions since received refund. She got her hair cut today (first time in 3 years) and was very embarrassed when her card declined. We have attempted to contact Green Dot and had a recorded message after waiting for "the next customer service rep" for over 36 mins. The recording stated her card is blocked and/or frozen pending requested documents. We have no idea what docs they are requesting but I feel it very ridiculous that every penny she has is on this card and she can't speak to a human to get it fixed. I am appalled.

    My husband bought this card and we used it one time before they started denying every transaction. They then blocked the card so I can not use it until I submit ID. Yet the page to submit ID is not there. I cannot talk to a person at all. Scam. I'm sure this crooked company makes millions by stealing peoples money in the name of security and they need to be stopped.

    UPDATED ON 04/17/2017: Green Dot had continued to hold my money. They blocked my card for no reason and then when I submitted my ID for review they claimed it didn't match. My ID is in my married name and is the only ID I have. I don't know if I used my maiden name or married name on the card and Green Dot has the worst customer service on earth... It's impossible to talk to a person. Then they did leave me a number without the extension So it hung up on me. My ID matches my social and my maiden name matches it too. I have bills to pay. This is disgusting... It's my money and I need it.

    I've been having a bad first experience with Green Dot. When I first purchased my card I went to order something online and it kept saying "declined" or "fraud transaction" so I kept calling Customer Service so they could connect me to a real representative but they never did and up putting a block on my card. I either want my money refunded or the block off my card so I can purchase what I wanted offline.

    First of all, my grandson lost his card but since he has been detained he cannot get a new card. He sent me, his grandmother, a Power of Attorney to help get the card. I have tried three times to call them and the first time after 50 minutes, I hung up. The second time I called I finally gave up after holding for an hour and 20 minutes. As I am writing this review I have been holding on my cell phone for exactly 2 hours. I called at 11:29 and it is now 1:29. I have their address so I guess now my only option is to send them my Power of Attorney return receipt requested explaining the situation.

    Any help or advice you can give me would be so much appreciated. I am a senior, 77 years old and this is very upsetting to me. We do not have the card but I do have his Social and his birth date. His name is Joseph ** and his date of birth is ** and the last four digits of his SS# is **. P.S. Green Dot just hung up on me. The phone was right beside me and all of a sudden it just clicked off!!! I could use a few choice words right now.

    After using MoneyPak several times to add money to my card with no problems, I tried on 4/05/17 to add Pak that was purchased by a friend. I was asked for a copy of my ID for the first time. Once I did this, was told I would hear from them in 2 working days. As of today 4/10/17, I have heard nothing and do not have access to my money. Very unhappy with this service.

    A company issued a refund to my card, Green Dot flagged this and blocked my card until I could prove that refund was mine. Then when I ask for a supervisor I'm told they will call me back. I don't understand how a company can do this.

    I was contacted by a very nice green dot representative and was told my case has been cleared. It was hard to get a representative using the number on the back of the Walmart money card and using green dots automated system but seems like once you get a live operator they are very nice and helpful. I would use them again and have to change my star rating to a solid four.

    I've been using Green Dot money card for several years and my card was just compromised for 1k. I did not lose my card and it was not stolen so I reported this incident to Walmart and green dot and it's been almost three weeks and I have not heard anything. I've called their customer service line and you cannot talk to a live person. It is absolutely ridiculous. I will keep fighting because they had no problem taking my money in from my direct deposits and taking their fees but when it's time to help the customer they are nowhere to be found.

    My son who is dying from a terminal disease received a gift bag at a fundraising event. Inside was this card. We didn't know if it even had a balance. Unfortunately the online and automated phone won't indicate unless you register. Every penny we have goes toward making memories and trying to save our son. I can't sign up and automatically get fees just to find out if there is a balance. The phone system is locked down to prevent me from getting an answer on balance or speaking to a person to get questions answered. I thought money was loaded but the way greendot.com is so unhelpful and horrible in customer service the card is just sitting here collecting dust. Meanwhile a boy fighting for his life won't be using it. I can't ask a person some basic questions and greendot.com creates phone and websites to prevent getting answers.

    Am not the type to leave bad review but I had to with this stupid company. I called and check my balance and it was $10.50. Then when I went to order something on eBay for $6 dollars there was not enough money on my card. And I haven't bought anything that whole day. When I called Green Dot to check my balance again I only had $1.15 left... WTF. Where did the rest of my money went. Scammers. Never again would I have anything to do with this stupid company.

    I have a Green Dot card and I'm very disappointed in them. I realize that there was a transaction on my account that wasn't supposed to be there. I called them right away and they cancelled my card and said that the money would be on my card whenever I receive my new one. Once I got it I realize that the money was taken so I called them and they told me that there was nothing they could do about it and gave me this number and hung up on me. Every time I try to get a hold of customer service all I do is get hung up on it. I think it's very unprofessional especially when you're trusting somebody with your money. Especially after doing research and go into a scam website and finding out that there is any reviews on the company or anything in the companies out of China so they really did just get my money and wonder how they got my information. I wish something could be done. This is just absolutely ridiculous.

    Got a Green Dot card as a gift and it wants a lot of information that I don't want to give, like identity theft amount. I wanted to talk to a representative to determine what I need to do since there's contradictory information in the terms, but I can't talk to anyone without registering my card. Of course, I can't register my card without giving the information, so the only way I can find out how to NOT give the info is to give it.

    Called the corporate office. Nobody answers there. You're right into a phone tree designed to put you into the customer service phone tree that didn't work in the first place. But worse, when I found someone who worked there to talk to, rather than transferring me to them, the system put me back into the "Who do you want to talk to?" phone tree. No matter who you choose, it sends you back to asking who you want to choose! There's no clear way to get to a representative. That's a sign of a shady or under-staffed company, and they want you to trust them with your money?!?!

    By the way, they are upfront about the fact that while they will allow you to opt out of sharing information with affiliates and non-affiliates to market to you, they refuse to allow you to opt out of marketing for their services and that of other financial companies. "If you use our card, we WILL bother you." Too slimy for my liking.

    I recently got a Green Dot prepaid card (Visa) and I've been enjoying it and waited for my personalized card to come in the mail so I can make an online account but once I got it and entered all the needed information it tells me that my information is (see image, I didn't include my info in the screenshot for obvious reasons). I called (04/03/17) to ask about this and they said they would have someone from the tech department or something email me the next day. I called again the day after to check and they said it should come at the end of the day but I didn't receive anything. I called again today and got put on hold several times and the last time I got put on hold, a survey came up and they never got back to me. I'm pretty sure they hung up. I waited 15 minutes more but nothing. I tried calling again but it keeps going to the robot teller and I can't get to a person anymore.

    I just wanted to resolve my issue about my online account. I was told that maybe I already had one but when I tried, it says that I don't and that's the last time I got put on hold before they hung up. I don't like calling for these things either and would rather not have any issues but this is the first time I've experienced such patronizing and annoyed customer service employees. I understand that it's a hard job and it gets tough to work with customers sometimes but this isn't the best way to handle it. My ISSUE STILL HASN'T BEEN RESOLVED. Please do something about this.

    I recently used an ATM machine to withdraw money from MY prepaid card and accidentally forgot the card in the machine. A bank employee had contacted customer support to verify that the card belonged to me and since has blocked me from accessing my card completely. I have called customer service and only get an automated voice recording. Not once have I spoke with an actual human to resolve my issue. How am I supposed to send documentation to unblock my card when I don't even know what document I am supposed to send. I now see why there are so many complaints against your completely ** horrible and lackluster company. Steve Harvey should detach his name from this company ASAP!

    Purchased a Green Dot card and loaded a significant amount of money on it. Got it home to register the card, it was giving me an invalid error code. Finally got someone from Green Dot to call me after using FB messenger and they issued me a refund check. Had to wait a week for my refund from Green Dot. Got the check, tried to deposit it to my new Green Dot card that was issued to me, it wouldn't go thru. Rejected.

    Tried to cash the check at Walmart and 2 different banks because after speaking to someone about the rejected deposit I was told to take the check and cash it somewhere. Have had several conversations with Green Dot and keep being told take the check somewhere and have it cashed. It can't be cashed. I getting a message to call Certegy. Called them, they can't give a reason why it's being rejected. I WANT MY MONEY BACK. That was too much money to lose.

    I have tried several numbers to no avail to reach a human to ask about a refund I was told I would receive on Mar 28. I am writing this review on Apr 4. I received the prepaid Green Dot Visa card as a gift. I discovered that it is more a credit card that I will be charged a monthly fee for. I was told by Jill at 1:48 CDT on Mar 14, 2017 I would receive a full refund on Mar 28, 2017. Since the card has been cancelled, I cannot get past the prompts to speak to a human because the card number is not a valid number. I found a place online to ask a question and found that it was a place to HIRE someone to get them to call you back! I just want to ask a real live person when I can expect my refund. NOW I am beginning to wonder IF I can expect my refund. VERY POOR customer service. I know for sure that I would NEVER consider them for a prepaid card nor would I recommend them.

    I Have Been With Green Dot for over three years. I used the card for my gas money for work, gas money and my phone service. The other day I logged in to check my balance but was blocked. I have zero access to my account, card or funds that was almost 300 dollars. I need money for gas to work but can't because locked. I have tried numerous times to contact Green Dot without success. Tried contacting visa they directed me back to Green Dot who says I am banned from their services with no explanation. Basically they stole 300 dollars from me.

    I was a Green Dot customer. I paid a reload fee every time I put money on their prepaid card. The security of those cards was terrible. I had to replace the card two or three times because the card numbers were always being hacked and I had unauthorized charges every time. This time I found a check that had not been deposited. I did exactly what I always did with checks: signed the back, took a pic of front and back, wrote "void" on the front of the check and tore it up when completed once I sent it via my iPhone.

    The next day my account had been terminated without any notice. My social security disability check is directly deposited every month into that account; I have a car payment and bills that are automatically withdrawn on the same days of every month; I couldn't be a more ideal customer. But it was the check that I had deposited - it had been deposited once before.

    I had to research myself to find out why this was happening and what to do about it because when I called the only number that's provided and used when you dispute charges I was told that termination matters had to be handled through email. So I sent a dispute email. I did get a response within 24 hours and I was told that if I wanted more details then I had to write a letter and mail it to them within 60 days after the termination date which was the day before when I found out.

    I realize that it was my mistake in the first place, but what I don't understand is how they can say they logically terminated my bank account without giving me any sort of warning first and then refer to me as conducting "suspicious banking" when it was them who allowed the funds to be available immediately. Their policies in customer service should be looked into. I had paid a lot of money to use their card and I had put a lot of trust into their financial system that was operated by computers.     I've been banking with Green Dot for almost two years now and have had no issues. Today my rent was due and I find out that my account was frozen. I waited on hold for over three hours to resolve this issue. Every time I call I get an automated system that tells me I need to send documents to unfreeze my account.     I used my previous credit card to make a purchase. I closed that account and got a Green Dot card. I went to the store I made the original purchase and I returned an item. The lady at the store said she could issue a refund to my new card, no problem. So she issued a refund, and I was supposed to have the funds on Wednesday.

    2 days later, my account is still blocked. I called Green Dot customer service and waited on hold for 2 hours and 15 minutes before an actual human picked up. I explained the situation and she said I would have to email a copy of the invoice I originally paid and she'd have someone contact me. I still haven't heard from anyone and my account is still blocked. I called the store and they said the refund went through on their end, no problem, but it must be with my credit card company.     When I sent in my dispute 3 weeks ago no one called me back. Finally I called last Wednesday especially because I emailed them the paperwork. They told me my dispute was approved and should be posted soon. Called back and they said there is nothing done so far. I thank god that the conversation was recorded cause Come Monday that video is going to every news station in the United States because it's Wrong. Worst part of all they broke their rules and never called me back in three days. I never even used any of my money. It got stolen.     Three days ago I wake up to charges on my account I did not make. This has been the third time in the last seven months I've need this issue. They canceled my card, give me a new one. Now they do the same thing this time too. The first time I was not even told they were doing so. I've never received any forms or updates about any of the findings. The new situation they have cleared that it was not me cause the charge were made in another state and the merchants said that released the funds. But Green Dot has not give my money. This has left me with five dollars and dying from starvation cause I live far from everything and nothing in my house to eat. They have told me I have to wait ten days when I have so many bills to pay including my power which went out today due to non-payment.

    I work from home so my power must be on to work. I'm tired of them to the high degree. I've spoke to my lawyers, the federal reserve, and the attorney general. They said they will not overlook this thinking you can just play with people lives. The customer service representative are so rude and do not understand what you are stating to them. I felt sorry for myself but I feel worst for the hearing impaired lady telling her story. It's so sad how they treat us as customers with no care at all.

    Green Dot is the worst card you can have. I went to an ATM at a local Walgreen's to make a transaction but the money would not come out. I tried to make 3 different transactions not knowing that the money was taken out of my green dot card but not dispensed from the ATM. So when I get home I notice and call green dot right away. Was told I have to wait until the charges posted to file a dispute which took about a week. When they finally did I called back, did the whole process just to have to wait two weeks to tell me the dispute has been denied. How in the hell are you not going to give me my money knowing the ATM did not release the funds?

    I went to where the ATM was to get the number and call but it is a voice system that says call your financial institute and dial a claim which I did just for them to tell me that bs. So now I have to file another dispute for the same reason and wait another two weeks. I have rent to pay and now it's not going to get paid. I would not recommend this card to anyone. It is the worst card. They will not even give you a credit until they investigate it. They're full of bs.

    Very disappointed. I've only had my card for a few months and this happens. Two weeks ago I log in on my account and notice around $1200 has been stolen by some merchants in China! I have NEVER done business with any international companies and so I disputed these transactions with Green Dot. I wait 2 weeks for them to review the claim (with no temporary credit on my account) and then they DENY my dispute, saying that it was denied because my account was "new". What the heck!? All of these months I've been trying to save up to finally purchase a car and then my money gets stolen; and then, even worse, Green Dot does nothing to help me. I called them today and talked to a supervisor to explain my situation, and to explain that I had not even logged into my account to check my balance until AFTER the money was stolen and that it was unfair that I was being hurt because I was a new customer.

    The supervisor told me to resubmit my claim but now I have to wait even longer while that processes (and I'm still out $1200). It's ridiculous that Green Dot would treat a new customer this way; even worse, I'm incredibly worried that this dispute will result just like the last one, with me losing all of my money while Green Dot does nothing. DO NOT USE Green Dot! Get a secured credit card, a credit card company will actually work with you if you're unlucky enough to be a victim of fraud. Green Dot just doesn't care.

    I have had my Green Dot card for 2 1/2 years and never had an issue until Feb. 28, 2017. My Federal Tax return was deposited into this account on Feb. 22, 2017 and on Feb. 28, 2017 someone in Tepic, Mexico went on a shopping spree spending a total of $909.48 leaving me with $5.35. I contacted Green Dot on 02/28/17 at 7:48 pm CST and told them my card was being used in Mexico and I was in the state of MS where I live and I had just used my card earlier on this day at my job. The customer service rep told me there was basically nothing I could do but wait until the transactions came out of the pending status!!! I WAS FURIOUS!!! So I printed the screen prints because something did not sound correct to me!

    I waited 3 days and logged back in my account and EVERYTHING from 01/27/2017 to 03/03/2017 disappeared from my account!!! HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN??? I called Green Dot and I was told that my account was one of the accounts effected by an update. Well forget the update... I WANT MY MONEY BACK!! Glad I printed the screen prints, because without the name of merchant and the amount of charges, you cannot dispute your charges! I have spent hours on the phone with Green Dot getting reference #'s, case #'s, dispute #'s, and here it is 03/26/17 (a month later) and I STILL DO NOT HAVE MY MONEY BACK!!!

    Now here is the real kicker... My card was actually used for someone to pay their utility bills in Tepic, Mexico. They also went to several drug stores and purchased medical equipment. All in this same town!! I have NEVER BEEN OUTSIDE THE US!! Green Dot is supposed to be FDIC insured and they are not acting like they are. This means they have insurance to cover such as this! I have been getting the runaround and I'M SICK OF IT!! Even my payroll deposits from my job have disappeared from my account!! EVERYTHING!! I HONESTLY THINK THIS MIGHT BE AN INSIDE JOB!!! Green Dot get it together and give us answers!!! I have been patient and been waiting long enough.

However, yesterday I reloaded 65 dollars into my account bringing my total to 51.99 due to fees and such.     I bought a card and filled it with money for my daughter to use on an out-of-state trip the next day. After registering it, I had a message stating the card was "ready to use." The next day I got a message stating they "had identified fraudulent activity on my card" even though IT HAD NOT LEFT MY WALLET. They blocked the card and MY funds until I sent a copy of my state issued photo ID and that, even after receiving the ID, they would take 2 business days to review it. There is no law that requires this! This is highway robbery and identity theft. Needless to say, my daughter had to leave without money to use on her trip.

    So yesterday my tax refund was deposited to my Green Dot card, and I used it at Home Depot successfully, then went to use it at an ATM. Said it was declined so I call Green Dot (which I can't get any manager on the phone). I found out they blocked my card saying "suspicious activity" though I've been using it just fine and about 3 or 4 months. So I send in my ID and then someone calls me and says they won't accept it and they would hold my money until I submit more documents. I argued with the guy that called and even verified the three previous transactions and they still won't release MY money. The guy said they can hold it till I send in more documents.

    This is bull crap. So Green Dot bank has stolen over $6,000.00 of my hard-earned tax return. That's my money, not theirs, and this is freaking ridiculous. As soon as I can get enough money for a lawyer I'm suing Green Dot bank. I WANT MY MONEY. Green Dot seems think they can hold it forever. Yet the website even says if they can't verify your identity I can still use the card but no cash withdrawals or online bill pay. Clearly says it in their own policies and websites. They are stealing everyone hard-earned money and basically telling us to ** off. I want my money Green Dot. You can not withhold my card or block it as IT'S A PREPAID CARD AND DOES NOT MEET FEDERAL GUIDELINES FOR POST-PAY CREDIT CARDS.

    I have never had a good experience with the customer service at all. I made a charge which went onto my card immediately. I canceled this order within an hour and when I checked my Green Dot account the charge was still on there. I called and was told by their customer service agent that they could not refund my money until the last day of the month. I argued and she kept repeating herself. I had to wait three weeks for a refund for an order canceled right after I placed it.

    In another instance I noticed a charge from a very reputable place I do business with that I hadn't made. I think it was an oversight by the company. Green Dot agent asked if my card was in my custody and I told her yes. She canceled my card without consulting with me. I had charges that would automatically be taken out the next day. She just made everything worse. These people don't know how to communicate. They just keep repeating the same thing over and over. I would also be happy if they would let me speak with someone with a decent comprehension of the English language. Horrible.

    I have put $20.00 on card twice. The first time out of $20.00 my available funds was $11.05. Now put $20.00 more only have $7.10 available so saying account is overdrawn. So out of $40.00, I get 18.15. This is highway robbery. When it was told to me there was only a monthly charge of $7.95 not a refill amount with them also to reload every time. Also did not ask for a VIP card. Can't afford the Fee's that has accrued when on a fixed income and surely not have my monthly check on card wouldn't be able to pay no bills. I had to call and cancel the card and reorder a new one for the fee which I was okay with except for the fact that I never received my card with my $90 that I still had left over on it and there's no way of knowing where it went and since I don't have the card number I can't even log in to order another one. Why wouldn't Green Dot notify him that it was rejected in the first place? They are full of **. I'm mad as hell. I have 2 kids and now I don't know what I'm going to do. This is fraud.

    I have purchased 4 Green Dot debit cards, put 500 dollars in the each which is totaled up to 2000 dollars and when I tried to register it said "card has been registered". When I try to report it stolen nothing or no one can help. I call the number in the back of the card same thing useless. I just want someone to help me with this.     Charges a lot and not what you put in is your balance. I bought a card today and I wanted to purchase something online and I couldn't since they took away $9.95 and my remaining balance is $13.05. That's a total ripped off from this company. Also they're asking for a social security. If it was a well known bank I would do it but a prepaid debit card that's so wrong.

    I try to register my brand new card and it tells me that it is already registered. I try to call and I cannot speak to anyone with a social security number, which I never entered or gave to anyone. Talking to a human is impossible. I thought this card would be a great alternative, now I am not so sure. I have money on a card that now I have no access to. And I can't get any help!

    I have been with Green Dot for almost a year with no complaints. Recently I received a new card in the mail... I wasn't sure why but I thought maybe it was something that Green Dot does or that the new card was a solution to me being unable to reload my card at any store. Once I activated my card I tossed the old one in the trash thinking it would be no good anymore. When I finally got around to making an ATM withdrawal it said insufficient funds. I had $0 in my account. Come to find out the new card wasn't associated with my old account so the card I threw away was found and used and someone had went on a full blown shopping spree. I lost over $2000!!!! How does Green Dot even allow such transactions to occur especially when it's not equivalent to my spending habit???! Why didn't they lock the card and contact me?? So 3 going on 4 days later I still don't have my money back. I'm so disappointed.

    I used my card to make an online purchase a few weeks ago. I never received the goods, but they still charged my account. I tried to resolve this issue first with the merchant. Got the runaround, had no luck, so I called Green Dot to dispute the charge. For the first 15 minutes of the phone call they tried telling me that I can't dispute the charge because it was "authorized". Like um yea, I just said I used the card but got no goods! This is a totally valid reason to dispute a transaction, as I do not want this crooked company just stealing my money! The useless agent continued to tell me the same lines in circles until I finally got a little heated and now it's under dispute. But he still told me not to expect anything since the transaction is authorized. Shake my head. If this is what you think proper banking customer service is, I'm happy to take my business elsewhere!     First of all a merchant charged my card $30 as a hold. Then it disappeared but the 30 dollars never credited back.. Poor security I guess.. 2nd thing is anytime I call customer service they speak poor English.. can't understand me and I definitely can't understand them.. Put a damn call center in the United States for US customers.. So I'm out 30 bucks because the Pakistan guy had no idea what I was trying to explain..

    3rd... You can't log on to the app. It says password is wrong.. It's not.. I log on online with a computer fine.. You have to use a computer because it won't let you from a cell phone.. This whole thing is so preschool. I have a Chase credit card and the cs is 100000 times better. English and if I had 30 or 1000 dollars missing they would give it back and work it out on their time.. Actually any bank would do that.. I'm not happy.

    I got my tax refund put onto my Green Dot card last month. Had no issue until I logged onto my account and saw 3 transactions that were not from me. As soon as I noticed it I contacted them. The lady I spoke to helped me with my dispute told me I needed to email my dispute also so I did that day and even got a confirmation from them saying they got it. It's been a week later and called because my money is still not back into my account.

    The lady I spoke to this time told me it may not be in my account until March 22 and said I needed email my dispute. I told her, "You guys have it. I emailed it a week ago." This fraudulent transactions happen on February 26. This is my money, not a loan and still don't have it. This is ridiculous. I won't get my money until they investigate it. I'm out over 1200$, any other bank cares about their customers and will temporarily credit you if there is fraudulent charges. Now I can't go on vacation like I planned since I'm out over 1200 because some jerk took my money and Green Dot doesn't care whatsoever. Horrible horrible bank!!!

    I have had Green Dot a year... and this is the first year I get my taxes. Well unfortunately it was stolen off my card from the person who supposedly did my taxes. This lady stole my PIN number and all. I called Green Dot and did a dispute for them within two days of this happening. I was told to contact IRS and local authorities which was done. She was taken to jail. To make a long story short I disputed all these miraculous transactions this person made and GREEN DOT BASICALLY SAID SCREW ME. Because most of those transactions were PIN based (hence she has been around me enough to know the PIN number). So now I'm screwed out of $3800 bucks because Green Dot refuses to give me my money back. At this point I'm working with a lawyer and more. I have recorded all phone calls with them as well. But Green Dot you will NEVER EVER GET MY SERVICE AGAIN.

    I have had my card for several years. Recently, my debit card number was stolen and used in another state (I live in Colorado and the card was used in Michigan). The thieves charged over $1800 in 16 separate transactions in a two hour time period. During the same time I was in Colorado using my card. Green Dot has denied my claim. Every time I have called I've received different information and had to wait days to get any information back. I'm disappointed that they don't take care of their card holders better than this. Other banks and credit cards protect their customers. I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere.

    I received a card in the mail after receiving numerous emails telling me the card was on the way. I did not order this card, yet it arrived today. I do not want the card. I called up customer service and was put on hold for 45 minutes. I foolishly hung up, called back and was put on hold for... you guessed it another 45 minutes. Finally someone came on, a supervisor who closed the account for me and flagged my information so that no other accounts can be opened with my information. I was originally leaving one star because the customer service truly stinks, but now that my issue is resolved I increased it to two stars. I would really say 2.5 stars only because at 3 stars I am "satisfied" and believe me, I am far from satisfied overall. The lady that helped me deserves five stars, but overall stink-o-rama.

    My refund was deposit on March 7, 2017. It was on my card March 8, 2017. Everything was fine. I go to pay my light bill and gas bill. My card was decline. So I called the card. It say it's block and they will unblock it when I send in my photo ID. So now I am even more upset because in the middle of talking to them my lights get disconnected. IRS already sent the money. Held my refund from January 18 until March 7, 2017.

    I upload the ID then they say I have to wait 2 business days so I check the status today. They say they can not see image. I speak to a manager name Stepfanie from dialing this number here 626-765-2000 which is the corporation number for Green Dot. She tell me if I upload now since we on the phone she will release the whole. So I do that. She said she see it and anything. I called back 3 hours later because my card still not unblock. They tell me that a picture never came in and I am like, "Are you serious?" Give them Stepfanie name and everything. They tell me to send it again and it could take up to 3-5 business days. I said, "What happen to 2 business days?"

    This company is stealing refund checks, period, and what they are doing is wrong bad enough IRS is doing extra security this year. How you as a prepaid card doing this to people? I am getting me a lawyer and filing a claim because these people not helping you. They stealing and they are liars and rude. They don't care about you bills or anything else then to top it off the lady said this a large amount. So what? It came from the IRS, not a source that you guys not aware of. They going to lose a lot business and have a lot lawsuits.

    I have had a partial amount of my refund placed on a Green Dot Prepaid card for the last few years. Last year there was a very long delay and issue with getting the funds released on my account and the same for this year. Only last year I could speak with customer service, this year I cannot. I have filed several 'cases' with them via email and was told to initiate a 'chat' with them and chat is conveniently closed. The IRS says my numbers may be transposed in the system but the bank can use my SSN and place into the correct account or reject it to the IRS.

    My refund was issued on 2/27/17 and I am yet to be able to use my funds. I call and all I get is the automated system telling me I have more than one card and the online system for the card I have had for years shows no new deposits. The 'cases' are being closed and I am told to call the IRS. I call them and the IRS advised they have not been rejected so Green Dot still has my funds. So where is my money?

    A PayPal transfer of $300 dollars in Peter **'s Green Dot account did not appear as being deposited in his transaction history. Last Sunday Peter and I spoke to Dale at Green Dot about it. Dale admitted Green Dot had made a mistake and put a credit of 50 dollars back on Peter's account and PROMISED that a technical person would be calling back Peter the following Monday to reimburse the remaining $275. No one called us on Monday. So Peter called Green Dot back. That person said someone would call us on Tuesday. No one called, again! So now we are on the phone right now getting stonewalled by yet another Green Dot representative. Meanwhile we have no money to eat or buy gas with, let alone pay bills. Green Dot is stealing from us while we go hungry, quite literally. Please God Help us.

    I bought a Green Dot prepaid card on the 25 of February so I didn't have to use my bank card. I paid for a hotel room at the beach but when I got down there I decided to pay in cash so they refunded my money back to the card the same day. Here it is March the 7 and green dot won't release my money till the ninth of March. I will never buy another green dot prepaid card ever. They will take your money and there is nothing you can do about it. If you ever get a green dot prepaid card when you load it spend every thing quick. I had the worst experience with green dot prepaid card. It is best to get Netspend. You will be a lot happier.

    On March 5, I had all of the money stolen from my account and I was left with no money. I reported the card stolen like I was supposed to then I tried several times to call customer service and I was given the runaround. I can't access any money that's deposited into my account until I receive the card. And then it's supposed to take up to 7 business days to receive the card. I was told the 15th. That's 9 days away!!! How am I supposed to take care of my kids with no money until then??? The customer service representatives don't care at all. They're useless. Absolutely useless and the chat option was closed for like the entire weekend including Monday. I got really upset because I couldn't talk to anyone and get some answers.     Wait times when calling customer service waaayy too long, so-called "customer service specialists" offer no real resolutions! I was transferring money to a friend and the code they sent her was not working. No matter how many times they tried, they told me I was the only one who could cancel it, which I was unable to because my transaction history has been unavailable! So basically they opened a "case" to get this matter taken care of. Meanwhile, I have 400 dollars in limbo. Never ever again, as soon I get my money back I am canceling my card.

    Why would anyone put themselves thru this much pain and suffering. I am seriously hearing impaired and due to cross country travels I got a Walmart debit card. BIG MISTAKE. Within 2 weeks of using it I had checked out of 2 hotels (I know because I travel all the time). The hotels did not put a hold on any money. Why would they (I went to the top with both reputable hotels and I know it wasn't them as what would they be afraid I was going to come back and steal ice)? I am old and have never ever had a hold put on anything after you check out so I have to go back to the saying.. "If it makes no sense then it probably is a lie" and everything they tell me when I call has been lies.

    My biggest and worst problem is that since I am hearing impaired and rarely can understand female voices their only call center is in the Philippines and Walmart/Green Dot refuses to abide by ADA laws and help me by getting someone who speaks clear English on the phone. The worst part of it is the reps. get very upset when I try to tell them it is not personal but they need to spell phonetically. Only a few of them even know what that means. I feel very sorry for them as we all know the reason Walmart/Green Dot hires them. They work for literally nothing. When I called about the hotel holds on money I desperately needed they gave no reason just that it would not be available for 2 weeks.

    When I began calling the store although they sounded sympathetic they basically flat out told me to get rid of it. IMO they are told to say that and then if you close the account you will never see your money. I explained I had set up direct deposit and after that was straightened out I would. Finally after being a squeaking wheel and speaking with several managers one told me the store manager (she would never get on the phone) told her to refund the hold money to me for all I had been through.

    I drive a long way (this is where I bought the card) and walked in asked for Katrina who had told me that. About 15 minutes later she comes walking up looking nervous with a very smug looking lady who preceded to tell me she was the lost prevention manager. She took me aside and very aggressively told me I would not be getting the money back. I was very upset crying as my service dog is ill and I was also. I always tell people that I am hearing impaired as when my disease flares up I cannot tell how loud I am talking. I told her I would have to spend the night in my car as I did not have enough gas to get to my friends house who lived about 70 miles away. She said okay. I asked Katrina why she did not call me and tell me this goodwill gesture was off. She said the caller i.d. did not work after another person called in. No caller ID I ever had worked that way. Trying to make this shorter is hard as it goes on and on.

    I think it is a game they play as the loss prevention person called the police on me. The bully lady is the one I will sue individually if needed and she told the police I was yelling. This too fall under ADA as I had told all of them I was hearing impaired. I was sitting in my car trying to make calls to do something as they surrounded my car and started bullying me telling me I did not know how businesses worked. I know I could be their mother or grandmother as they looked very young and I worked as a professional in a major corporation (nothing like WALMART) for 30 years. I am filing a complaint against them and there is no thinking about suing as they are now holding my direct deposit saying it is not there. I coming from STATE FARM and I do not love them but at least they do not lie.

    So me and my service dog sat in the car all day hungry and ill hoping someday WALMART/GREEN DOT will decide to let me have my monthly stipend. Very traumatic and they will pay as in the state it happened in the small claims max is 15,000 and unless WALMART officials pays off the judges I cannot imagine they will not see the crime WALMART committed and this will continue unless people fight for their rights. A company should be able to make money honestly without holding people's hard earned money and collecting the interest. If Walmart brands it they have to take ownership for the criminal and unethical conduct being committed. Stand up for yourself.

I then I tried it again and it declined and kept trying to use my card and it kept on declining it so I called customer service and they said they had blocked my card (for no reason) and I don't see why they can't unblock my card if I can tell them all of my information and I have not ever reported my card lost or stolen so why can't they unblock my card if I have not called and reported my card lost or stolen.

    I went to Titan Tax to file my tax return and they gave me a Green Dot card to have my refund deposited. My refund was hit my account on February 23rd. I misplaced my original card. Reported it lost and a second card was mail to me. Upon activating the NEW card I get a error message saying a "security hold" was placed on my account and I needed to "submit documents" (picture of ID) and in 48 hours I'd have the hold removed. 48 hours later I check my account and I get a second error message of telling me the documents are not legible and I would need to resubmit them and wait another 48 hours.

    For almost a week I have not been able to hear my balance, use my card or speak with an actual human regarding the hold on my account. I've sent 5 different pictures of my ID and still no access to my money. Almost 2 weeks. I have children to feed and bills to pay. MY REFUND WAS SENT TO ME ALMOST 2 WEEKS AGO. I finally figure out how to get through customer service... WORST REPRESENTATIVES I've ever come encounter with. NO ONE can help ME. 4 hours on the call, 3 reps, 1 manager and all I got was "I'm sorry there's is nothing I can do to release the hold." PLEASE if anyone has any advice!! I'M DESPERATE here.

    I have had a Green Dot bank card for about 3 years. I had to cancel my card due to someone accessing my account. The problem is I still have $1,129 in my account and no way to access it. I can not get anyone on the phone and the automated system will not recognize my account number or social security number says It's invalid information. This is not true because I can access it via the online portal and it has my account balance and account number clearly on it! I have tried every way possible to speak to someone on the telephone to get help ordering a new card but without recognizing my card number it just hangs up on me. This has been going on for months. I have no way to access my money or order a new card. This is obviously a very shady organization if they refuse to speak to their clients. I would suggest not to do business with them. I might just fly out to California and teach them some common courtesy.

    I've had Green Dot for over a year. I just switched my direct deposit to my Green Dot card. Somehow my balance is negative. I go online to check history and only 4 transactions showed up. Today I check it and only two transactions are showing and I'm even further in the negative. I have receipts proving I should have a positive balance. Absolutely absurd. You can't overdraft with a Green Dot card from an ATM. Something here is fishy and I am not going to pay for it. Already on hold with customer service for an hour. Now my paycheck is going to hit and it'll end up paying the money for their mistake until it is fixed.

    I purchased 2 cards for my employees but then after trying to use them the first time, they were blocked with no warning and customer service is now blocked after following the instructions online. I still do have access to my money. They have kept over 200.00 of my money. This is scam. Please stay away from these cards. It's been over two weeks now and I've followed all online directions. Still cannot talk to a person and I still do have access to my own money. This feels like a scam. Buyer beware. I will have to file a complaint with the BBB to hopefully get my money back. I hope everyone reads this to avoid the loss I have encountered.

    UPDATED ON 03/24/2017: After posting a review on this site I received a call from Green Dot customer service from a woman called Desi. She informed me that they will need me to mail a copy of my ID and ss. card in order to unlock my funds. I still have no access to the money I put on these cards. It's been over 2 months and I was told that they will be holding my money indefinitely unless I mail copies of my ID and other personal info.

    I want to hopefully help stop anyone from being a victim of this scam. I have pulled all these cards from the stores I manage and we are alerting our customers of this scam. We have heard several stories similar where Green Dot locks a card after purchase due to suspicion activity and then requires customers to email or mail ID and other personal info. Still after some have given this info they still have no access to their funds as I do not. Hopefully after filing an official complaint with the state of NM consumer affairs dept. this company can be stopped from taking people's money, until then please be aware of this very real threat.

    I've been using my card for months. I have my paycheck from my job direct deposited on my card every week and have never had a problem in the past. I recently had my tax return deposited onto the card and they blocked my card. I've called at least 5 times a day and have waited at least an hour each time. Last time I was on hold for almost 2 hrs and finally someone answered only for them to not be able to help me and couldn't give me a name or number to call for help and no reason on why my card got blocked. I still have more money being deposited to the card. My rent is late facing eviction, my car payment is late, my water is getting shut off this week and I have 3 children. I am very unhappy with my service and extremely PISSED OFF!!! I want my money now! I will never refer a friend to this company and I have also talked to an attorney to file a lawsuit against them.

    I was given this card by my tax preparer for my taxes. The original card was misplaced so I used the automated service to cancel it and order another, however I got my new one in the mail and all Hell started. When I try to Activate or register this card it shows INVALID CARD. Now I need this fixed cause my taxes are being loaded on here. I call and there is no option to speak to a live representative. However I had to say I was disputing a charge after that they say "hold on. A live representative will answer you call shortly." I waited over 4 HOURS and hung up. It continued to say "please hold. We have a high call volume. We will be with you shortly." I got my husband's phone and called from his number and I had both phones calling this company and never answered.

    Now February 23 the IRS was scheduled to send my taxes it has not be applied. I'm sure due to showing INVALID CARD. How am I suppose to get my money? This is a great question to ask if I could speak to this company. I can't believe they get away with doing this playing with people money. Well I am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

    I received my income tax check on today and I have not been able to reach a representative to figure out why I do not have access to my funds. When I contact the automated system, they say I have multiple cards with the company so I'm assuming that the card I do have physical access to is not the one link to the account with the funds in it. All I am trying to see is if I can transfer or add the card I have in my possession to the account so I can start using my money. The card in my possession is also linked with my same name, address and social security number.     I sent the following transaction dispute to Green Dot Corp on 2/18/2017. Self-explanatory. "The card was purchased at Walmart, Lecanto, FL, in September 2016 for $50.00. It was first used on 01/28/2016 at T.J. Maxx at Dulles Town Center, Dulles, VA, and the only amount on it was $7.50. The card was not used by anyone between the time of purchase and first use. I do not believe it was out of my possession during the entire period. Is there any way you can determine where the missing money went?" They sent an automated response saying they would reply in 1 working day. They have not yet responded.

    UPDATED ON 03/14/2017: A representative of the company did indeed contact me and was seemingly very contrite and offer to help in any way possible. She called back the next day with a request for me to provide additional information, which I immediately did on March 10, 2017. Since then I have heard nothing. They must think the amount involved ($42.50) is trivial, and it probably is, but it is the principle of the entire transaction. They sold me a prepaid card. They did not secure their end of the transaction. Someone in California got my card information and used it. Green Dot knows this, but they have not yet made good on it. I am still waiting for them to respond to my latest submission.

    Green Dot is incompetent. I was logging into my account checking for upcoming deposit just to find pop up on my account that read "Due to you reporting your card lost stolen we have put 1 day suspend on your account". I called to see if this was an error because I never called to report my card as lost stolen and when I logged on full website didn't get the pop up only got it on the mobile site.

    LONG STORY SHORT. I talked to 4 reps and 3 supervisors and still no resolution. Green Dot admitted their error but won't expedite my card for their mistake. The reason I spoke to so many people is because 1st supervisor put me into survey line while we were talking, 2nd supervisor conveniently couldn't hear me anymore after I spoke of expediting card and hung up on me. 3rd rep said supervisor would call me back in 4 hrs (never happened) which prompted my last call sup #3 to be told she got error message when she tried to expedite my card.

    Everyone before this last supervisor I spoke with told me they would expedite card for their mistake but when I thought I finally got to finish line, was told she too couldn't help me and to callback in 24-48 hrs to get another card sent to be expedited because the one they put in yesterday already sent regular mail and she can't change. These idiots took it on their own to send me a new card right when I have a deposit coming through. As soon as I get the card in mail I will take every penny off the card and never look back. Will never do business with Green Dot again. They have the worst customer service on planet.

    I purchased a Wal-Mart Visa gift card for travelling, and I completely regret it. The Green Dot customer service has been horrible. I just want a copy of my statement for the month of September 2016. The employees can see the transaction history but refuse to provide it to me. The cardholder agreement clearly says that the transaction history will be provided upon request; however, they keep giving me excuses. "We can't print it. We can't screenshot. We can't copy, paste, and email." Really? Horrible company. I couldn't even use the gift card half the time, and I want to verify that there are no errors. I'm sure that's why they don't want me to have a copy of my transaction history. They're too worried I'll find an error and ask for my money back. Crooks.

    My card had two transactions without me using the card. It was with me at work. I reported lost or stolen and tried to click on disputed transactions but it said to print it out which I can't do because I have no printer. I called 3 different numbers and everyone took me to same program and with my card shut off I can't access the automated service!     I've used Green Dot as a secondary card for years. I finally decided to use this as my primary card after getting a new job and setting up direct deposit. I called Green Dot a few days before payday because I feared that I lost my debit card. My intention was to speak with an agent to discuss my options; Maybe overnighting a card if necessary or transferring funds. Instead of an agent I got an automated system to report lost or stolen card so I hung up.

    I decide to go to Greendot.com and read what I could there. To my surprise there is a VIP option I could upgrade to and IF I need to replace my card in the future there is no cost to FedEx at that time. I signed up for this service at $4.95/month. I find my card on payday and couldn't use it. I call Green Dot and am told that I reported the card and would have another in 5 days. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE especially when I did not report my card lost or stolen. I call and speak to rep and they tell me I have ZERO options but to wait for the new card that they don't have a tracking number for. I asked if I could have money transferred to a new card. NO OPTIONS.

    I called back to ask for a manager and the woman told me there was no point in me doing that because the manager can't help me either. I requested a manager several times before being told she was transferring me. I got nothing but music for 45 minutes. No manager. I called back and was told that because I upgraded card my card should work. That was a lie. When I called back I FINALLY spoke with a manager and he couldn't help either. Couldn't do anything but give a dry apology. No other solution. Just wait for the money I worked for and put my life on hold for Green Dot's mistake. I followed this call up with a call to FedEx and they have no packages scheduled to my home.

    Another thing I noticed is that if you call multiple times... Green Dot's automated system will try to block you from speaking with an agent. Instead of actually HELPING SOLVE THE PROBLEM. I went with Green Dot because of the 2 day early pay. But it's not worth it at all. I've been in Customer Service and Sales for 15 years and this is a horrible display of service. You are doing your customers a disservice if all you do is answer the call and tell the customer you cannot help. I paid $4.95 for VIP service and sat on hold for an hour. Imagine that. Once this is settled I'm going back to Netspend.

    I authorized a payment to my credit card holder on January 11. The payment of 500 dollars was drafted from my account. Instead of a paper check being issued, the payment was attempted with my debit card. The payee does not accept that method and denied the payment. After a month of calls and being told several times that the money was found, and I should wait for a specialist to call, I still have not been called and my money has not been returned. Upon an hour long call today, I was told once again that the payment was indeed made and a new investigation would need to be started.

    Finally, I was told to go online and use the hyperlink to cancel the payment, there was no link, so now I have to submit forms to investigate why the link isn't there since the money was located. The run around has gotten ridiculous, and with every call, I seem to get a different answer. I just want my money back that wasn't received and to feel like someone is actually understanding.

    Hi. I am writing regarding my Green Dot card. I had called to dispute a charge, and was never told, the card would be cancelled. So, last Friday I put 100.00 on it at a CVS. And when my son tried to use it for Greyhound, it declined. When I called, I got transferred few times, had to keep telling them the story re my card, and it was very annoying! They said they would send new card, with the money on it,. Got a new card yesterday or day before, called today to activate it, and I was told they cancelled that card too!!! I told them never again would I use Green Dot or refer them too!!! I was so mad. But after I told the representative I was mad about all this, she said "Let me see what I can do." She then was able to reactivate that card and put the refund on it. Thank goodness!!! But I still have to wait for a 37.50 refund though, but at least she was able to reactivate that card!

    I read up on Green Dot services prior to getting a card through them. I thought it would be easier to purchase things online and pay a few bills through mobile with this card instead of going through my bank. It is a convenient thing to have, I am not denying them of that. I am highly upset that every single time I try to deposit my check through their mobile deposit, my checks get declined. EVERY SINGLE TIME. I go to a bank after it being declined only for them to cash it or deposit into my bank account. I finally had my nerve struck today after having yet another check declined through their mobile deposit, so I broke down and called customer service. I HATE customer service through Green Dot. They are friendly humans that are working there but they have absolutely NO IDEA how to resolve my issue.

    I am tired of having to pay a fee at a register to load money onto this card, it is a waste of time when mobile deposit is available. The resolving on their part was that my account was at negative standing (it was not, the CSR explained to me that) or that the person who issued my check had canceled the check. It is my paycheck, it was not canceled and the person who issued my check does not have a negative balance on her account. Green Dot, get your stuff together. I am considering canceling my card with you due to this ongoing issue that over the course of a month has still not been resolved. Thanks.

    I set up my account correctly but changed my address within 30 days and they blocked my $128 dollar balance. Then they required I submitted ID verification for access to the account. This takes time because you have to have new state ID with correct address information on the card which is a violation of the Privacy Act because most states require a physical address.

    Now while you're struggling with the New AntiTerrorism laws of which you are not a terrorist anyway nor do I have any criminal record what so ever guess what Green Dot feels they're entitled to every month regardless if you have access or not. PROCESSING FEES $9.89 per month for as long as the account is suspended or till the money runs out. Then when I submit proper identification as demanded and wait the two-day processing time limit do I get my access back to my money minus the $60 dollars in stolen fees? Nope. This is a scam of the highest level. Imagine 100000 customers in the same situation each month going unreported. IT'S TIME TO REPORT GREEN DOT TO THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION.

    I receive Green Dot thru tax prepare. Decided to change my address and they block the card. I try over and over again to reach a human and continue to receive computer type help. When I did reach a representative. I was inform that I can not be help or speak anyone that can help me; because however they don't deal in that department. Finally I was told to submit my id. I did. And was later told it wasn't good enough. As would say fraud prevention but how is that if the card was never used. Now I'm told to mail it in. I live South Carolina they're located in California. The average mail time on this would be (at the least) 7 business day. But due to winters days and ground traveling it will take at least 2 or 3 weeks. Green Dot does not honor or respect new customers. And does explain their system beforehand. Silly me should have use my own account. Just my luck but it's a first everything!

    I was once a long term customers with Green Dot Walmart prepaid money card and unfortunately I lost my card and contacted Green Dot to report someone have taken my card and used all my money off the card and you would not believe that not only did Green Dot did not dispute not one single transaction they instead sent me a $5.76 check. And couple weeks later I received a letter from Green Dot saying that the transactions was valid and denial of the transactions I reported as fraudulent on my account $831.12 to be exactly of my lost card and which they tell you in terms of use clearly you are FDIC insurance coverage.

    First time I ever disputed a claim as a customers. They was calling me a liar in their own little words as if my rights don't mean anything which I have contacted Green Dot 3 times requesting why and determination which nothing have been sent to me by mail or by email and so a 72-hour notice certified and dated to resolve or respond. A complete scam on poor people. It's not fair to have lose your money that's supposed to be secure and safe which is why I'm warning other to be on the look out for this reason. List scam Green Dot bank. In which I would like to filed a lawsuit against Green Dot bank corporation to recover for my loss and the trouble they caused me.

    I was very dissatisfied with this card. I purchased a Green Dot money card at a Dollar Tree today. I loaded $45 on it to buy a rug online. When I went to pay for the rug the payment never got processed because Green Dot charged $7.95 against the card immediately after I bought it. I only loaded enough money for the rug. I did not like how rude the company was when I called them regarding it. They told me I couldn't load anymore money on it also and that I wouldn't be receiving a personalized card in the mail either because they tried saying I did not verify my old addresses. This is bunch of bologna and a rip off! I never got my rug and the $7.95 fee is total bull. It doesn't even explain that you are automatically charged the fee. It let on that it was for unlimited access. I would never recommend this card to anybody! NetSpend is a much better card!

    I've had horrible customer service from the customer service agents and a supervisor. I called trying to understand why Green Dot was holding my money AFTER it's already been released by the hotel (The hotel authorization hold). The hotel policy states I would have it returned in 3-5 business days. Green Dot not only held but is still holding it HOSTAGE. When I FINALLY spoke with a "supervisor", she was rude, dishonest and a huge disappointment. I'll never recommend Green Dot to anyone!

    The Green Dot transaction, processing, convenience, and customer service are exceptional! This is a very high level product. I have recommended over and over to friends as an alternative to banking with their Credit Union and Banks. The only bad experience I've had is when I used the card at a Exxon in a neighborhood outside of area and was charged a pre-authorization fee of $91.00 for $11 worth of gas. The Gas station alleges it is not them who initiated the hold, but Green Dot. I contacted Green Dot and they said it is the Gas station.

    I explained I even used my PIN for the transaction. The Gas station manager said he is willing to speak with Green Dot to prove it is not them who's holding my funds. I have an open case with Green Dot. It has been several days and the money has not been refunded to me. Hopefully I have a resolution that satisfy me. It's been frustrating. Almost $100 on hold for $11 worth of Gas! Other than that I still care and will patronize Green Dot.

    Everything worked great, when the card works. They will randomly block your card for 2+days without warning or explanation. Then block you from contacting their customer service number. I was at a store, with $200 of merchandise and was rejected, with 1000 dollars on my card. If I can't trust the card will work, then what's the point?

    Nightmare. Buyer beware. Con artists work there and they have your info!!! Bought this card at Family Dollar. NASCAR Visa, Green Dot, they advertise on cover only $1. Back shows small print your card will be charged same as all the others! I fell for it. Only saw when I got home. Grrr. But then my nightmare really began. Called to register. They never took my info. Said it was fine. I tried to make my flight purchase. Would not take it. OMG???? 4 hours trying every number I could find to get cust. rep. Nothing. Grrr. Next day back to Family Dollar, wanted refund. No refunds. I said I didn't see a sign. They then spent 3 hours trying to recover my 500.00 to no avail. They did get live person but they talk in circles!!!! Three hours.

    Finally Green Dot agreed to have it looked over as fraud and asked me to send pic of card receipt etc... Wellll now they have that info too. And said they call. I had my phone attached to me. Oh they called, rang once, hung up. I emailed them again next day. Rang once, hung up. ** are probably a gang of cons working there... I am not giving up as this absolutely infuriates me. And I missed my dad's funeral cause of this incompetent company! Next step contact Visa. Ohhh I finally got a number for consumers to call. 801-344-7020. Finally as I wrote this a friend got that number. And they are sending me check. It was fraud. Someone at their co. put it in their name!!!!! Grrr. Buyer beware if you have to give name, SS, etc out.

    I rented a car from Enterprise. I loaded money on the Green Dot card. I returned the car, Enterprise released the hold from my MC and I paid with Green Dot. I reloaded the card, went to pay a bill and Green said I had -161 balance. It is taking an act of Congress to get my money back on my card. When I get the money back, I will never use Green Dot again. It's hard to understand the customer service reps. There was a language barrier.

    As a gift for my Mom, we bought a gift card for her on Mother's Day. She held on to the card and attempted to use it over the holidays only to find that the card number had been fraudulently stolen and used in California. We reported the card using their transaction dispute form a couple of days after as recommended. However, a month and a half later I still have not received any information about the form. Also, the customer service number only leads to a machine and no additional information is provided for this type of situation.

    So I got the Green Dot Cash Back Card for Christmas purposes. So then I thought why not use it for my income tax as well so I used the paper with my account number on it (or so I thought). You know that it comes in the mail with on my Tax return. Oh by the way I used Turbo Tax to do my taxes. So I did my return. Entered the numbers that I was suppose to enter. So I am looking at my account online when I notice that my Direct Deposit number is wrong online so I call Green Dot. Only for them to tell me that the number that the card came with is wrong. I should have went online first...

    Then the dude would give them a supervisor and Suggested that I Call Turbo Tax and give the right number because and keep in touch with them because I used the wrong number... REALLY!!! They sent me the wrong number. So now I have to wait for a supervisor to call me back. So done with this company. I bet if STEVE Harvey knew what they were using his face for he would have never.

    Probably one of the best Prepaid debit card out there right now to get that will help you get back on track, if traditional banks wasn't working out. Highly recommended. If you're looking for another banking system besides a traditional this would be a great option because Green Dot also have a option that allows you to see if you can qualify for a secured Credit card. Perfect way of building your credit back up and not dealing with crazy overdraft fees that Traditional banks would do to you. And you're never really going to get penalized like how traditional bank would if you were to spend over the amount asked. Because if you don't have that same amount in your Green Dot debit card they won't allow you to overdraft. Some banks say they got that overdraft protection but that's how they get you.     This card is a joke. My kids received this card as a gift for Christmas. The fee of 7.95 monthly to have this card is ridiculous, the bank don't even charge you to have an account and not to mention you have to enter personal information just to register a card is really unsatisfactory. I hope no one else sends. GREEN DOT gift card, because I will be returning it to them. GREEN DOT is taking people's money. Even the regular Visa/MasterCards only charge a one time fee of 4.95 when you purchase the card and they don't take money away from you. Those reviews must be written by employers of GREEN DOT, because I do not see anyone giving you 7.95 to have a card, ATM fees are this high and most banks reimburse you your ATM FEES. RUN AWAY FROM GREEN DOT.

    For about 2 months the Green dot app wouldn't allow me to log in so I could view my transactions. I had to rely solely on the text reply *Bal **.     I have had pros and cons to my card. The cons are I no longer receive direct deposit from my current employer which makes it useless and also I do not get my daily text as to my remaining balance to pay bills I have in my life. The pro was not worrying about cashing checks and having a viable way to use my cash. I have considered switching especially after my last place of employment. I am in a new job that does not do direct deposit so I often wonder if Green Dot is worth it. I have also in the past two months not even used the card for ANYTHING.

    I am considering cheaper banks because unfortunately Green Dot does not fit my lifestyle. I chose it to create a way to save my income. I often wonder why I even have the account/card because I no longer receive direct deposit and cash my paychecks at Western Union or Walmart down the block from my place of employment. It was great when I had direct deposit. Other than that I am under the firm impression that I will be charged each month until I accumulate enough money to put it in so Green Dot will take out the $7.95 monthly charge. I often think it was a mistake to sign up but I thought it was wonderful a few years ago. In reality I have lost more money than made.

Then when someone had promised they would get it back in 7 to 10 business days turned out they lied, it was never reported so I called back to see what was going on.     I am most displeased with this card for the fact that in addition to any bank fees I'm now hit with an additional fee to withdraw money from an ATM.     I needed a way to get my paycheck without having a bank and the ability to pay bills online etc. I worked for a company that loaded your paycheck on a card similar to Green Dot. So when I switched jobs I needed a new card system. My original card didn't charge a monthly fee as long as you had direct deposit. You could add money to it for a fee or through a specific bank. When I switched jobs I lost some of my hours and had less monthly income. Green Dot charges a monthly fee if your deposits are less than $1000 or you do less than 40 (?) transactions in a monthly period. Sounded reasonable until I started getting less hours, hence less $ deposited.

    When I tried to load money on to the card it was hard to locate somewhere that could do it or how much it cost. I used the ATM locator which sent me to a bank. I waited in line and spoke to 3 people. No one knew what I was talking about. I showed them the APP and they directed me to the ATM. However that didn't work either! I finally had to call and ask customer service. That person had a hard time answering my question (how much will it cost me to add $ and where can I add $). Finally I was told Walgreens and it was $5 to add my own money on to a card! Basically poor customer service and $5 a month and each time I needed to add money didn't make it worth my while.

    I was really upset with Green Dot last year, for sending my 2015 state tax refund back to the state. Due to I was audited by the state and didn't receive my refund until July, 2016. Green Dot sent it back, claiming that they did not accept tax return monies, past the tax season. This was a tremendous inconvenience, and I do not plan on having my 2016 refunds direct deposited to my account this tax season, for this very reason.

    I called the other day because there was a transaction that was put on my card that I had nothing to do with. What end up happening was your operator told me that I was being irresponsible for the use of my card online!!! He was rude and obnoxious. I have not changed over to NetSpend but I do expect a full refund on my card!!!

    My phone was stolen from a purse snatching thief at train station at Trenton NJ on my way to Elkton MD. Phone has visa card information. A ** lady uses my card without having to put a pin on purchases because GreenDot.com customer service said they can't do nothing. I am switching back to PNC. 10 years no serious problem until 2016 and 2017 stolen money even with a police report. I lost 336.76. I warn everyone stop. Don't trust the bank of GreenDot.com.

    The Green Dot card has helped me many times in doing my online transactions. There hasn't really been any problems. Had a little trouble understanding the guy on the phone cause of his accent but he did help me and take care of my problem.     Green Dot was absolutely horrible with my last purchase of a card! I ordered a card Tuesday two weeks ago. I paid for speedy service for them to ship my card by Friday. My card didn't come Friday. Didn't come Saturday. I called Saturday to report my card not here. They canceled it without my permission and told me I would have to wait until Wednesday for them to ship another card. Card didn't come Wednesday and I had told Green Dot since last Tuesday that this is the only money I have. Long story short card didn't come til Thursday night!

    I am more than satisfied with the use of my Green Dot card in regards to purchasing, fees, and reload locations. However, within 3 months of receiving and using my card it began separate straight down the middle and came apart leaving me the front of the card (black) and the back of the card (green). I had to re-glue the pieces together to be able to use it at atm machines and banks. Very Poor Quality...

    Customer service is often very bad, hold times are ridiculous, and employee knowledge needs improving. I don't like how long it takes to receive my money after an issue. Troubleshooting/problem solving abilities need to greatly improve.

    I found some unauthorized transactions on my card. When I called customer service to rectify situation, I was told I had to fill out a form and either email or mail it in. Fine. Next day, my card wouldn't even work. I was told there was a hold on my account, and we could not have access to our own money until a new card came in, which could take up to seven days. So, in the meantime, we can't put gas in our cars, or feed our children. They had absolutely no answer to that. Customer service is horrible. How and why are we being punished because someone else hacked our account? Absolutely DONE with this company. The worst company I have EVER dealt with. I will tell EVERYONE to run - far away from this company!
