I like my Green Dot card not completely in love with it. I wish there was more atms that I could use with getting hit with fees. Otherwise it provides everything for me that I need. I love that I get my paycheck early even if it's only by one day but it counts.

I love this card. I rely on it for a lot of my purchases. I use this card for all my purchases besides bills. It helps to separate my money with bills and spending money. I would recommend this card to family because it's a great way to save. When you don't see the money in your bank it's easy to not spend it.

I enjoy my card. It's easy to use. You can check your balance with the app. However I do not like that you get charged 2.50 to withdraw money even if you use the find a atm feature on the app. I use this card to keep better track of my money.

Everything been good so far. I just wish that The ATM fee was free at every ATM and I wish that I can receive my money back for every ATM fee that I use. I came to the conclusion that it doesn't help out on your credit. That would be awesome too if that could happen for me too.

My experience with the Green Dot card service has been poor. I read there were no card charges taking from my card and there is. Can't reset my password on my account easily. Would not recommend this card to anyone.

I had written a review on Green Dot debit card experience. Since my review, I received a follow-up call from corporate office out of Sacramento, CA. The gentleman, John was extremely empathetic and could completely understand my frustration. I was relieved that someone in their company actually cared enough to do something. I was very satisfied with the outcome from this experience and wanted consumers to please not sit with discontent and voice your frustrations since someone somewhere does and will help!

I had noticed that I was not only being charged for the use of an ATM which is anywhere from $3.00 tlo $3.50 which I expected however, I was also being charged by Green Dot for a surcharge. To withdraw my own money which ends up being approximately $7.00 per transaction. I phoned Green Dot and discussed this surcharge with a representative who provided me with some valuable information or so I thought at the time. He informed me of the MoneyPass ATMs and told me if I was to use a MoneyPass ATM, I would not be surcharged. Come to find out, that is incorrect. I called again and spoke with a supervisor and asked if Green Dot offers a surcharge free debit card. She did not take the time inform me of the exact card that may work best for me however, she just instructed me to look on their website under products.
After viewing each card on their website, under the products link, I feel Green Dot is in the business of Surcharging customers. Completely understand businesses have to make money to stay in business. However, I feel that GreenDot is taking advantage of the consumers who do not choose to do business with Traditional banks. After being surcharged hundreds if not a thousands of dollars and just now noticing is my fault. I have checked into the traditional banks and come to find out, if you use their ATMs, there is no fee whatsoever. Time to switch my 2 direct deposits since Green Dot is definitely not in my best interest yet interested in making interest off me! Disappointed!

I am pleased with the card. I focus on my budget, used in a variety of locations, credit or debit (except at gas stations, where using a card affords me the lowest price to fill my 60 gallon van! I would like to be able to have my activity reported to the credit bureaus to improve my scores.

Very happy with Green Dot. I would recommend this card to friends and family. The card is very easy to use and to be able to put money on it whenever I need to do that and usually within 15 minutes after I put money on the card I can use the card again. I am very happy with Green Dot. Thank you.

I use this card as my primary banking card as I do not have a traditional bank account. Overall anytime I have contacted customer service I have had my problem resolved quite quickly. The only thing I am not a big fan of is not only do I have to pay a maintenance fee monthly if I don't meet the waiver requirements but since my job does not offer direct deposit I have to pay to put money on my card that I have already paid for and pay monthly to use. I mean is it the worst card, no it is not. I just feel that reload fee could be maybe even half of what it currently is.

I really love my Green Dot card and I love that customer service is excellent. I think that the money back from using the card should be issued every 6 months instead of once a year. I have been with Green Dot for almost a year and have not had any problems with them.

For the last two weeks I have been unable to access my balance by text. If not for this your rating would have been higher. Also when I see the card it would be nice to get an alert or a message about the balance without having to text for it myself.

Great card for paying timed bills. It is reliable and companies love it. I have used it for 6 years. It's easy to get cash too. I am more responsible using the card. Everyone needs it. It is easy to do the payroll automatic deduction too.

Customer service no help, making deposits not getting credit... hold on accounts for too many deposits for items I sold. So it did me no good to go the Green Dot way. Trouble ticket# **. So if you can look into my problem it may help to change my mind.

I don't work. When I got my taxes money on my card and I thought the Green Dot card company stand on it word that they would give a hundred dollars for loading our taxes money on the card. Then my money was deducted from my account. I didn't know that I have to pay $9.95 a month fee every month? I added money to pay my bills. When my children put money on my card.

This was my first time ever using a Green Dot card and it will be my last. They put a block on my card just a week after having the card and my direct deposit was rejected. I'm having to wait a whole week in order to get my deposit. CS was horrible.

Overall good service. I wish we had some kinda rewards points for using the card that could up over time to get free items or cash. I think that would be a great benefit. I do love getting paid early and it's definitely easy to get a reload if you need it.

All I can say is I get my pay 2 days faster and I haven't had problems with Green Dot like I have with all other prepaid cards so I choose Green Dot over any prepaid credit card. It's the best. Thanks Green Dot????

I think this card is GREAT!!!! I have never had a problem using my card in store or online. I would recommend this to anyone. My sister got a Nexus card and it's awful. She gets charge for every thing. I have told her to get Green Dot!!!

My experience was good until I could no longer access my account on my phone. I have no home computer or access to one- my phone is it; therefore, I have to call to get my balance and/or transactions. It is a pain! Hurry up and get fixed! Then it will be 5 stars!

I got my debit card online, and set up an account. I didn't have money on it until the 1st of the next month. I have direct deposit, and the card came in the middle of the month. I had to wait a month for the on line account to actually use the account. I couldn't get into the account. I finally was able to, and now I don't have to pay for a text message. That's why I gave you a 4 instead of a 5.

For the most part, I don't have many issues with Green Dot. I did, however, have an issue once which caused me a lot of problems. There was an unauthorized charge on my card and so my card was locked and I had to wait a week for a new card. My direct deposit had just been loaded onto the card so I had no other option to access my funds. If Green Dot would have activated my locked card while I was on the phone with them while I was at the ATM, I wouldn't have had the problem of having to wait an additional week for my paycheck. If your company can have some alternative way to access funds on the card when there is a disputed charge, that would make me give you 5 stars.

I called to get my card with my name on it sent to me. Everything went fast and easy. Love Green Dot, so easy to reload and safe to use anywhere and anytime. The automated system didn't seem to have any problems and it was easy to get to the correct department that I needed.

Green Dot is amazing! I actually get paid two days early EVERY TIME. I thought that was a lie, but it's actually true. It's very easy to reload and it's easy to set up direct deposit with your job. You won't be disappointed.

Green Dot is a great company. I just don't like the fact that I have to keep getting new cards because someone knows my card info. Also I made a claim and I kept sending in my receipts and things and they kept telling me OR wasn't no valid when I took multiple pictures and even got a new receipt. I just feel they should respect me more and give me what I deserve. I never got my money back.

I'm trying to see why I don't get my paycheck 2 days earlier like it said. I'm getting my check the day of payday and not 2 days earlier... I have had this card for 6 months and not once do I get paid earlier... then why is it I'm paying so much a month for this card.

There should not be a monthly fee of 9.99 when I am depositing over $1500 a month from my paychecks plus any other amounts I add to the card. I think that is really bad. I am about to get a bank account so I do not have to deal with any additional fee that you charge.

I requested to have a balance texted to me when it changes and every Monday. Sometimes I get the message and most times I do not. It upsets me because I set up the option. I do now appreciate the early deposits.

Green Dot are convenient. However my husband uses the money prepaid card to reload to send me money while he is traveling and there is a load limit. I'm sitting with 90$ that I currently can't Load because of the limit.

Green Dot cards are excellent. No hassles with any of the services I've used. Customer service is a hard to reach but once you get there they are very helpful. I enjoy my GD card. Each time I use my card I know that my charges are deducted right away. Thank you Green Dot.

Had my card for a little over a year now. It started out as just a means to purchase stuff online and later started having my paycheck direct deposited to it. Never had any problems with it. Direct Deposits are always on time and transactions appear on my statement in a timely manner. I wish I could use it to pay at the pump, but I think that's a vendor issue and not a card issue.

Thank you for your review. To pay at the pump you should be able to insert your card and select "debit" as with any other debit card transaction. If this doesn't work, then you can simply go into the store and pay with the cashier, for which you can select a "debit" or "credit" option.

I will like Green Dot could do better by having more location to load. Making it easier to contact customer service. One of the things I missed about NetSpend is that customer service was always one call away to help with any issues. With Green Dot it is not so easy and when you do get a rep they have no knowledge of your concern or problems.

I think Green Dot is the best service I have ever had!! They offer many options like direct deposit and also quick loads on the card. No hassles. Very simple friendly use. I like the turn around time when the card is loaded to posted on card. I would like to see better updates on balance. It seems to be delayed when posted after you use card for purchases.

I love the Green Dot cash back. So far I have earn 19.00. I love the saving I can have with the card. It’s pretty awesome but I have waited almost a month for my direct deposit and it still haven't went through. I got the card because I thought you would get your pay check faster but this is way too slow.

I love Green Dot... the only thing I don't like is having to pay 4.95 each time I load my card. Sometimes I load 2 times a day. That's 10 dollars of my money already gone. I can deal with the monthly fee... but each time I load I don't care too much for.

I was very, very dis-satisfied with having to use my physical address to receive my card and to use as my billing address. All my previous cards were sent to my post office box. My post office box was used as my billing address. I live in a very rural area. The same as millions of other American people do. There is no such as me getting my card or any other mail at my physical address. I have to call the Rock View post office daily to see if they have since they will send it back. It is only a 8x16 utility building remodeled inside for the post office boxes and a small area for the postal clerk to work. My actual post office is in the opposite direction and a normal size post office. Plus I am very, very upset that I cannot get my old direct deposit info from the card that was closed out. Without that info I cannot get UMWA pension deposited plus I cannot get Social Security check direct deposited. I absolutely need both checks.

I'm very happy with my Green Dot card because it helps me manage my money. It also is accepted at all the places a I shop. I also like that I don't have to carry cash. I would like the service fee to be reduced. I also have my Green Dot card linked to my PayPal account.

The promotion said once I sign up for direct deposit and get my first direct deposit Green Dot will give me $25. I have yet to receive the $25!!! I am very dissatisfied with this company!!! And will be calling corporate office today.

I'm for the most part happy with the service I receive from Green Dot. However I can do without the monthly fee only due to the fact we already have to pay service fee when we reload back into the Green Dot Card. Other than that I'm good. Oh and I still haven’t received no cash back rewards. Thanks.

I buy your card so I can buy items on internet. This way I don't have to worry about someone draining my personal checking account. And I can put a few hundred dollars on my card or a thousand dollars on my card. I like the convenience of the card! The only issue that I had was that I was charged when I used an ATM that was CLEARLY marked as one that I would NOT be charged to use. When I called for an explanation, I was connected to a woman who spoke little to no English. She was absolutely no help. I decided that I just won't use an ATM again. I just keep a certain amount of cash every week.

I think the monthly fee should be lower especially for those who have occurring direct deposit. Instead of the fee being 9.95 per month, I believe it should be between 4.00 or 5.00 per month. Free fee would also be nice if possible.

I have used this card for a long while. Am happy with the service. Only issue I have is if you want to add money to the card it has to be a certain dollar amount existing balance that is on card. Anything higher than said amount you are unable to add a CASH amount. (Only direct deposit is allowed).

I have direct deposit, I get paid a day earlier. I have no overdrafts therefore I have more money in my pocket. My Green Dot card is accepted everywhere I go. Some places are using chips inside of debit cards. Maybe Green Dot should consider placing chips inside of their cards like everyone else.

The real time accuracy of funds after transactions is great. Knowing sooner than later is best. I can check my balance at anytime and feel confident that it is correct. Even when the new features are presented, the app will update quick. I'm one appreciative customer.

I don't like when you use your card at a merchant. Your ending balance shows on the receipt. That is very tacky. Might not use the card because of this feature, why would I want everyone to see my balance?

I love my card especially it not cost very much to load and it's fast. I can go to my account and it's easy. I can use it anywhere and I just love. Steve Harvey he was the main reason I got it. I've got the silver card. Just got to activate it when I get the money.

Never received my card that has my name on it. I have bought 2 temporary card and registered them but still no permanent cards. I have to have a card to have my pay put on from work. I can't even load any money onto the temporary card. Thank you. I hope this gets resolved.

My account does not show accurate transactions and current balance. Sometimes I get messages that money has been deposited when it hasn't and when I do deposit I never get notified and sometimes transactions are never reflected, therefore I never really know how much money there is in the card.

Green Dot offers pretty good service, I like the fact that I can deposit my money and have access to it earlier than most banks. However, the reason that I could not give 5 stars is because when the deposits are later than usual the customer service department never accepts fault and always advised that you should contact your employer. Instead of simply saying "we are aware of the problem and working to resolve it". That's really my biggest issue is just with customer service. Sometimes you can't understand them.

Great service and always deposits checks on time. I had trouble finding a bank to go through, and the online perks and apps for the Green Dot card are very user friendly and easy to set up, as well as use. The ability to check my transactions at any time is great.

There have been countless times I have had money stored on my card for strict purposes and I call my card because y'all don't let me change my password so I can't log in, and there has been charges taken out that I'm unaware of. Definitely done with Green Dot!

I like Green Dot because it gives me access to a debit or credit card. However I feel the monthly fee on top of being charged every time I load money are excessive fees. I have tried to load money on to the card through my bank and have never been successful. That has been irritating. Other than that I am satisfied with my experience with Green Dot.

Never had a problem with my Green Dot. Since a switch to use prepaid card I try many different cards and when I try Green Dot I love it. I recommend to everybody. My card is the one with cash back and when I completed 12 month I get money back. That is awesome.

I am very disappointed you charge a monthly fee of $4.95 then you charge $4.95 to reload card, that is $9.95 to use your card. I will NOT be using this card again. For someone that is on a fixed income this is not good. People are looking for convenience not a rip-off.

I love my Green Dot card. However, I do believe the fees can be lower than $7.95. At least $5 each time. But again Green Dot is awesome. I just seem to be having an issue with texting for my balance. It is always saying it fails but other than that I love the Green service.

This is a very useful card and has good benefits. I recommend it to all. It loads the money fast and easy. If you're someone who needs to collect money from out of town this card is a great way to receive instead of Western Union or Moneygram. Gotta love it.

My only complaint is all the fees. As soon as your money is loaded, I recommend removing it immediately. The $9 a month fee is ridiculous, along with the fee to load money onto it, and/or all the hidden fees. Only convenient for child support deposits. Other than that, not worth it.

I do wish that I could see pending direct deposits. It would be nice to see that it is received and going to be added. Other than that I really am enjoying the Green Dot experience. Why do you have the same number on both cards on the account. I thought our cards would have different numbers.

Green Dot is my first ever card and the only card I have used so far. It may not be the best, but if you don't have a bank account, this is a good place to start. Reliable service, decent monthly charge with loop holes to get around it, direct deposit (I would only recommend using if you don't have constant monthly charges going through), most places accept it, and easy to reload. Just make sure to keep track of charges in case someone tries to steal your info.

Last year Nov. I think I had a UNAUTHORIZED charge $59.95. Did what the person told me to do to get the unauthorized charge returned. It was a different card. However, jump through your hoops. Did what I was told. My return of my money was declined. The customer service really sucks for Green Dot. They can be hard to understand or just inept. The second time I tried to get my SSI money returned I did more checking and after about 45 min finally spoke to a female at a company with the same and explained my reason for calling. She has told me they had gotten a lot of the same complaints. So again I called Green Dot to tell them what I had found out and the name and number. I was told they would look into it. Again NOTHING.

When withdrawing money from a fee free machine I am charged $2.50 every time. When I notified Green Dot about this the person tried to say that it was the bank charging. According to the Green Dot website the ATM location: PNC at Sheetz, 136 E Main St, Romney, WV is a surcharge free ATM. I have always been charged a surcharge at this machine. PNC is not charging the fee, Green Dot is.

So far I have no problems in using the card. However I don't know how much longer I will use it as the fees are steep, a monthly service fee of 9.95 and 4.95 every time that I load cash on it. May be more than I want to pay. And I can only load 200.00 at a time. That so far is my only issue.

Green Dot should be shut down. And their customer service is the worse I have ever seen. I would never recommend them to anyone. I would like to know how they stay in business. If all the prepaid debit card companies are as bad as Green Dot I think the government would probably step in and put them out of business.

Terrible service. A made-up charge that the merchant (Radisson Hotel) knew nothing about or had any record of was taken off my card and after so many calls and back and forth with customer service, It was never refunded. Investigation kept being prolonged, from initial 10 days to 45 days to whenever, only for them to write back with something that made absolutely no sense!

Currently I am happy with the card but your fees are just too much especially loading fees and maintenance fees, not to mention I am still limited how much to load. Also how much to take out of ATM. Also it takes more than ten days to process a check.

I never knew that there was a $9 monthly fee which if I had known I wouldn't of got the card. I only found out because I noticed every time I put money on the card money would be missing so I called and found out. Plus extra money it cost to put money on card is $4.95. That is crazy.

I really enjoyed this card and services in the beginning but soon my deposits started showing up as much as 8 days instead of anywhere near their due date. I couldn't access my card on my mobile and wasn't getting my alerts for my deposits, so that was money in their pocket when I had to go to an atm (which there are none listed in my area). I would call customer service and kept being told I was getting my alerts and could see no problem why I couldn't access my card online. I am going to try to contact customer service one more time as I have stopped using it for months or I will cancel it. I have nothing good to say about this card OR META BANK at this time...

I don't feel there should be a limit on how many money packs you can download per day or per month to your Green Dot debit card. Should be able to use your Green Dot debit card to purchase your money packs. Especially having to pay a monthly fee of $7.95 monthly fee.

I love the card. I just wish the minimum deposit amount was lowered to $20.00 and there are more contests to win prizes, like bonus money or even items. Those are the main things I can think of. The app is very user friendly, and has contributed greatly to the usefulness of Green Dot.

The dispute claims forms are ridiculous. If there clearly is an issue with ATMs declining your card. The cash should not be withdrawn from your account! Because that cash was taken out of my account. I WAS STRANDED OUT OF TOWN AND MISSED MY GRANDMOTHERS FUNERAL. Green Dot refused to help in any way. The customer service agent would not let me speak to their supervisor!

I love Green Dot card. I can use it everywhere I go. The only thing that bothers me is that when I go on vacation to Puerto Rico I cannot use it over there. I will have to buy one over there and deposit money and I don't understand, if it's the same US money why not use mine. For the rest I love the card and will recommend to my friends and family.

I have been using my Green Dot Visa for a few years now and I love it. However, my employer won't let me use the direct deposit method to add funds. I am not sure why either. I hope someday to be able to do that.

My only complaint is that I can't transfer money from one Green Dot card to another Green card with my cell phone. I have to call customer service & then some. If they don't know how to do that I'm transferred to several people till someone knows how.

The service is crappy. I deposited $50.00. Went to use my card. Only had $38 and some change. I called to see why and the representative placed me on hold and then the call dropped but I think he hung up. Better service, lower fees or lose customers. Very dissatisfied.

I like this card but my only problem with it is the text alerts that you have money or your remaining balance always comes a day or two late. And with direct deposit they say you can get it up to two days early but the last time I got mine on the same day as my paycheck. I think that's a problem that needs to be fixed.

It's been almost a month since I reported my card lost/stolen which it was stolen from my ex-roommate & used all. But all of my balance that week $29 and some change I believe, but I've called & tried getting help, we finally figured out to email which we did. So last night, the transaction papers that I've had to play detective my own self with the retailer and all, for Pete's sake isn't this a credit card corp? I mean you didn't fail to make my account - negative for over a week by charging a lost/stolen few of $5 plus the monthly charge all @ one time, yeah but it's a month goin on now and I still haven't seen anything of help from this company or with the almost $30 bucks.
I had nothing to do with of charging which in laymen's means I was by no fault of my own. I'm to which your corp. should step in & help your $10 a month paying clients/guests once and a while? I'm most likely thinkin hard on going to PayPal Prepaid due to no fees and actually people to speak to if you need help or are having trouble? I love Green Dot and wanna stay with you all but something’s gotta give and change for a min?

I absolutely have no problem with using my card. I even got my paycheck on it. It's amazing. 100% my favorite card I've ever used. I'd recommend this card to everyone!! Only thing is I wish it gave us the option to overdraft but it didn't but again it's an amazing card to use.

The Green Dot card is amazing. It's the safest way to add money without all the hassle of waiting on bank to open, when you can simply go to a convenient store. The fact that Green Dot is just a prepaid company is an understatement.

Pros & Cons - My experience overall has been fine. I like the look of the card, I love the app. I like the ease of use and loading funds. The only things I think needed to be adjusted are the fees. The fee to load for instance, if I short the amount I need to deposit by 1.00 I am forced to pay a whole additional 4.95 to load the additional 1.00. I think if you are loading same day the fee should be reduced or eliminated. On the cashback, why wait a whole year to give those rewards? That's not very rewarding. How about once per quarter? Overall, I will certainly continue to use this card.

I'm very unhappy with Green Dot. I've used it for years. My card got hacked into and purchases of over a hundred dollars was made and they denied the dispute and never sent me information on why and just refused to refund my money... very unhappy.

The app won't let me log in, I've tried restoring passwords and usernames. The texting for balance never gives me a reply and when it does it's not the correct amount, in result I never know how much money I really have on the card.

I recently uploaded a Green Dot MoneyPak with $500. When I go online to try to register to be able to load it on to my Green Dot card the site did not send my verification code. I've tried several times from different web browsers and even my cell phone and still nothing, I can't get in contact with anyone to get this resolved. I've tried the Green Dot customer care line but all is nothing but useless automated machines that will not help solve my problem. Later I tried registering again but this time I used my friend's phone number and the verification code came through, I then go to enter the moneypak numbers to put it on my Green Dot card and was told the moneypak had already been used...
So I am out $500 and cannot get a hold of anyone to straighten this MAJOR issue out. The moneypak website offers no kind of customer service number or help at all. I am looking into getting lawyers involved because this is completely unacceptable especially when dealing with people's money. There should be some kind of number for talking to a HUMAN to help with this sort of things.

I really loved my Green Dot but the only problem is too many fees when withdrawing money from any ATM. I pay $3 to $3.50 ATM fee and $2.50 Green Dot fee every time I have to withdraw money at any ATM plus $9.99 a month.

Green Dot has all the functions of a bank card. The fees to load is a inconvenience. The fees for withdraw. Fees aren't making the use of the card any better than a bank card. As for earn of cash the time frame to receive it is long. Why not give it back when as earned.

I find your card/bank services to be wonderful. It is easy to reload & I'm able to make online payments to the companies I do business with. (Also, make payments in person at the grocery store or other businesses) No issues at all. If I have a question I can contact customer service & receive the help I need (however long it might take, waiting). If there were a problem, I feel confident that your bank will work with me thru the issue. I can take care of managing my finances, so there would be no problem. This is strictly hypothetical (an issue).

I would definitely recommend a Green Dot card to friends and family! It is easy to load, easy to check funds, it's just easy to use! The card is great for vacations and paying bills online! The only thing I would like is to be able to place a photo on the card to personalize it.

The card service is good except for two reasons. I use a car most... UBER doesn't accept Green Dot card nor does my Google Wallet... nor Messenger. Other than that the card has been used to complete several transaction with no problems. Thank you.

Hi. I got a card with you guys. I put 30$ on it to use for budgeting. I made a purchase 13$ Then some days later I used it to get some milk and it declined my card. Some charge for ten dollars by the card place (you Green Dot). I want to be refunded until I make a larger deposit. Is that possible. I think it's not cool for you guys to charge so much. I have a bill that is past due. I explained my situation to Green Dot. They did not care. They took my money. They still have my money tied up in this situation. I explained I can go to jail if I don’t pay and my issue is still ongoing. This company will never get my business. Customer service is horrible. The whole ordeal could’ve been taken care of. I feel they just don’t give a ** after they take your money. I’m giving bad reviews to everyone about this company.

I am unable to text for my balance and history. I have called and spoke to your rep and was given this... "everyone is having the same problem" and when asked when it would be fixed I got this "I don't know just keep checking." One of the main reasons for using this card is for those texts. ALSO... I keep getting "warnings" that I haven't done direct deposit. I have and I wonder if I should have.

I attempted to use my Halogen prepaid card. Was cancelled without any warning due to inactivity, but the expiration date was 2019. I have had this same email attached to the card since I got it, but it upsets me that no one felt it was necessary to notify me prior to the cancellation, so would have an opportunity to take action. Furthermore, when I was trying to contact someone to find out why I was unable to load my MoneyPak onto my card, I could not reach a representative. I finally had to use a number for some other affiliate of Green Dot, and choose the option to report a lost or stolen card, to get some sort of assistance. Even after all that mess, my money is still stuck on a MoneyPak until I receive another personalized card in the mail, since my original card was cancelled, and since the card I purchased at the store could not be loaded either without my name being on it. Very disappointing and frustrating situation.

I love the convenience of the card, and getting paid earlier. I dislike that no matter what ATM I use, I get charged. I loved being able to get my balance through texts, but it stopped working which made me sad. :(

I love Green Dot. It's easy to use deposit money on my card and use. I feel safe with all my money being right there to use at all times to pay bills online. I love it. No worries of charging it up. It's my money ready to use. There's an app that tells me my balance and all my transactions.

Very convenient without hassle of going to a bank. I have been a Green Dot card holder for 6 plus years and have had a wonderful experience with it. I have almost never had issues with my Green Dot card. Also the phone # to check balance and deposits is very accurate. I'm a very satisfied card holder.

I had loaded $450 USD on my card at a pay at the register reload affiliate. 24 hours later all the money in my account (331.87) was gone. Was it Identity theft? NO. It was my provider, Green Dot bank, that had stolen my funds. Why? They had gotten an EMAIL from some faceless entity stating I hadn't actually given my hard-earned cash -- at a paid for privilege -- but had fraudulently tricked the reloader into giving me credit. Yada yada yada, I had to wait FOUR DAYS before reimbursement. I needed that money, badly. THANKS, GREEN DOT.

Green Dot is the only prepaid card I have ever had. Five plus years and no complaints. I have friends with accounts with other companies and they complain about this or the other all the time. I am not willing to switch over to any other company.

I'm overall happy with the card but am frustrated with the maintenance fee being taken out even when I don't have sufficient money on the card. It leaves me with a negative balance I'm not ok with this. Otherwise good card.

I can honestly say that I'm happy with the Green Dot card and the flexibility that comes with your excellent customer service. What I can say about what needs improvement is that the monthly service fee is overpriced and I feel that it is not necessary... but if you are not going to remove it then you should really lower it for sure. Green Dot is awesome. I love getting paid two days before my payday and I love that it is just so accurate when once I swipe my card the balance shows immediately unlike my last bank card showed it days later and I didn't have to call to confirm the balance. Is it too much to get my card in the color black. LOL.

When I go to my account info it lists the last 4 card #'s as '**' but that's not correct, it is '**'? You are paying a charge from my acct that I'm disputing (to a foreclosure place) plus it's NOT a charge I recognize, so I don't want you to keep paying it! I DID set up auto pay for my phone bill to AT&T on the 19th/20th every month, BUT that bill has NOT been paid yet plus the $ is in my acct? Thank You.

The card said there were ATMs that were part of your system. I looked them up to save on my fees. I get charged every time I use it. The bank fee and yours. Plus the monthly fee. It's much more than I planned on spending for a debit card. I will be looking for a new one very soon.

I don't like the fact that restaurants and convenient stores show my balance when I swipe my card. So is there any way you can fix that problem. It's not good that others can know my balance on my card when I go to places. I feel like that's violating my privacy.

I am deaf and when I make phone calls it is required that I have an interpreter. My conversation with the rep who took my call did not know about the law where as deaf are allowed such support. It took a while for her (him) to understand. The help was only part ways as I was able to get my card to work again but this did not solve my cell phone connection to the Green card account for my Balance. There is a message saying my balance is not recognized but it will show how much I have spent with my card.

I've had my Green Dot card for years and has never had a problem loading my money or businesses accepting it. Money loaded fast and quite a few places to load it. I lost my card once and got a new in 2 days. Every year of my birthday month Green Dot acknowledges my birthday for the entirety of the month.

Up to about 2 weeks ago I was really happy with your service and then it happened. Went to use my card and to my surprise I had a negative balance. Charges made by my card but not by me. So I called your number and spoke with a representative (who by the way did a great job) but I thought I was suppose to be reimbursed but have not been.

I love using this card. It make it easier to use and it make it where I do not have to worry about having to get a bank account. One thing I am a little confuse about is the weekly 500 bonus and how the drawing works.

I add funds to my card every paycheck, at least $50, and the same day, not even two hours later, I get an email saying that I only have at most $6 left even though I didn't spend anything. I am extremely dissatisfied with this company and I request compensation.

I feel you guys need a customer service number so people can actually talk to a live person instead of a recording. You can't get nothing sliced that way and it's frustrating to have to hear a recording so please get a service number that you can actually chat with and customers will be satisfied with your services.

Never had no problem with using my card and I tell others about how helpful it is to have. Easy to load at many major truck stop, Walmart. I never try Walgreens or CVS, but I'm sure you can load there also. Easy to pay bills and motel/hotel. Been with Green Dot for about 3 yrs and customer service are nice and ready to help.

Will be closing account. Automated does not work for my prepaid card and currently frustratingly working on an escalated awareness issue I raised regarding having been penalized for multiple failures on the Green Dot Credit Card Service end. Delaying reimbursing from having to be charged an additional day, parking, and gas for my rental card due to my card declining numerous times after being told the issue had been rectified.

the reason I bought it is b/c it shows that "the first monthly charge (9.95) will be deducted the first time you use the card or the day after you use the card, which happens first." But I found that the 9.95 first month charge never be deducted.

I'm super happy and pleased with my card. Never had any problems! I just wish that the monthly fee was less, but in general, it's great! And also if they had designs on the cards to make them prettier. Also, in cash back there would be no fee. Thank you!

I cannot even tell you how long it has been since I was able to check my account online. I've been locked out of my account, I've called customer service and still no help. I filled out a survey a few months ago and received a call back, but I missed the call. I tried to return the call and was on hold for over an hour. Once I leave my part time job I will no longer get direct deposit on this card. It is a joke. And to think I get charged 7.95 a month to pay for what? I tell everyone I know to get the PayPal pre-order debit card because that company actually helps you resolve problems.

I honestly don't like the service. I got it for direct deposit only and I lost my job right before the 4th of July and because of card fees I'm in the negative which is not right. I would be better off going through a bank. There's no hidden fees and it's also free direct deposits.

I am very dissatisfied with Green Dot altogether. When I activated my card for the first time it said I was negative $15. And some change. Being that I never in life used a Green Dot I called and disputed it. They went ahead and reversed it. However along with a letter stating I could only use my balance on the card and the card will no longer be active. After that, I could NEVER apply for another Green Dot again. When I called for a explanation, I was given none. Just that it was what it was and that's it. I feel they are very unfair as to the way they conduct business and with no explanation. I will continue to use my PayPal business card as I been for years. It lost a good customer that they chose not to have for whatever the reason.

Your card is a better value than most pre-paid cards available today except having a load limit of $500 is a bother, not being able to load let's say my rent of $650. I would need to pay the load fee on the $500 plus another load fee just to add the extra $150 which is a pain... Also it was one thing to have to pay $5-$6 each time I loaded $1-$500 which detoured me from adding anything under $200 because it doesn't seem worth it to add for me then but also you charge me another $5-$6 just monthly as is for having an open active account with which now went up another $2 and for a young single mom like me that's a lot to be just giving away up to $40 just in fees alone to you guys...

I wish you would consider doing overdraft protection to help us out when we run a little short. It would up your clients numbers and make a lot of others happy. Also cut back on the ATM fees and fees to add money to your card is too much. There should not be fees to add money if you direct deposit your payroll check. Some fees should be removed. I've been using Green Dot now as my primary bank for several years. I started using it due to a problem with a major bank caused by unauthorized withdrawals. I was just going to use it temporarily until I got the matter resolved, but I just keep using Green Dot and never went back. Although there seems to be a stigma attached to using a prepaid card, it's actually worked very well for me. Especially with the direct deposit, android app, and no fee ATMs. I contacted customer service yesterday regarding an ad I saw. The ad was about the reward Green Dot card. The agent I spoke with was very cheerful and helpful. I was able to determine that the card I have is best suited for my needs. Thanks Green Dot. You've made my life a lot easier.

My experience with Green Dot so far is awesome. I personally prefer it better than bigger banks. If I could give you all 10 stars I would. I love how if I upload so much on my card in a month my fee gets waived versus bigger banks. They charge you like crazy. Anyways Green Dot customer service is always on top of things. I'll never use a different card.

I have the best experience using Green Dot. No complaints. I would most definitely refer Green Dot to my friends and family. I just wish it only cost one dollar to load at all locations because other than the Dollar Tree, it costs $4.95 to add funds onto my Green Dot card.

I'm piss with way Green Dot handle dispute. You call in, tell them what going on, give them the store name number, the amount of the transactions then they see it pending, wont go ahead give you your money back like a lot other cardholder. You got wait on them to get the money then still after you call in give Green Dot all the information then you still got to do all the damn work.
Well what is the dispute department getting paid for. All other card all you have to do is call, let them know what going on. They put your money back on right then. People like me on fix income can't wait on our money like that. We need it back. Then you file dispute, put go ahead vibe is our money back on our card I'm think. Out leaving. Going back to my old acct. And when Green Dot had the sweepstake going as much as I use my card out all that money that was giving out it's shame I didn't get anything. Hell people like me that out of work due to sickness about to lose everything think that shame I didn't win anything.

Seems kind of greedy to take $2.50 for ATM withdrawals when we're giving you $10 a month for you to really do nothing but maybe paperwork or computer work for a min. or 2. I like the app, it is easy to navigate and understand. Getting paid early would be cool if I got paid every 2 weeks but I get paid weekly so really doesn't matter to me but it's still cool.

I made a deposit to my Green Dot card of $80 so I could make a purchase of medication for my autistic son, online. But by the time I got home, my balance was only $64 and change because I had two months of service charges. So I couldn't place my order. I called to have a second name removed from my account but was told the only way to do that was to close my account and open a new account. I wish they had told me that in the beginning and I never would have added someone else to my account. I am very dissatisfied with the company. It changed my whole opinion after being told that I would have to close my account and open a new one just to remove a second name. It's ridiculous that for someone who has been a customer for so long has to be told this. You would think that being a bank, you could have anything taken care of pretty quick, but not in this case.

Too much money for upkeep. When there is a problem there is no one to talk to. You've to phone in your problem. You should be able to do this online, your phone, a lot of people don't have a laptop that make it difficult to minimize the problem so you should make it so that you can text your problem and have that problem handled on the cellphone with added security.

Love the fact that it gives you cash back at the end of year. It's like I have my own little savings account without even knowing. Then there's no overdraft fees which I also love and loading money onto the card is a breeze. And last sending money is as simple as 1, 2, and 3.

You get charged a monthly fee even if you are not using it. The monthly fee should only be required if it is being used a lot during a month. Or at least lower it depending on use. Even if you were to charge the monthly fee after so many months of use. So people would be more likely to keep using your service. Also I would like to see a free atm withdraw.

I think you can do better. Lower service charges (should be free), and you only get 100 $ back on 5% of purchases max. Also should be changed so you get 5% all year long and get the total amount back. Otherwise the card is good, and it was better several years ago.

I'm charged a fee every time I use a participating ATM. In the insert that came with the card and on the website it states free withdrawals from particular ATMs. That is not the case. Very dissatisfied with that. I believe that the advertisement should be truthful. It clearly is not.

I love the card. When I get money I can put it on the card. Even if I have to pay a bill it saves time to pay with the Green Dot card online. Saves time. Wasn't able to cash my check. Never was given a reason why. Still waiting on the report to be mailed. Never got it yet and it's been more than 2 weeks. It's good order and load money on but as for cashing checks I wouldn't let anyone make that mistake to set themselves up.

I love it and I like it. It's great. It really works good. I love to use it everywhere but the only thing that I don't like is the credit card where I have to put money in my account and to get my credit limit. I think that is messed up. I thought if I have to put 200 down and I can use it to my limit which is 1000$.

A charge was made on my card by a merchant and I notified customer service that the services were not complete and could they remove the charge and the next day the charge was back on my card. Services were never rendered from the merchant. Customer service in my opinion was just as dishonest as the merchant! I never got my the product or my money returned! I had nothing bad to say about Green Dot until this happened!

I have been using Green Dot for several years now without too much of a problem. There is definitely pros and cons to the services they offer. Some pros would be that it's fairly simple to use their debit card as well as the website and app. It's pretty basic and user friendly. Some cons would be the monthly fee of $7.95 which used to only be $5.95. I think it's a little ridiculous how high their monthly fee is. Although You can have that fee waived but only if you spend $1000 or reload the card with $1000 in the same month. But it's nearly impossible to do because of the spending/reload limits that apply to the card and account.

Great way to start to build credit. Interest rate is kind of high but for someone who's fresh with credit this is a great start. I love how the debit card and the platinum credit card look. I like how you can set your own credit limit and abide by it as you choose.

I got this card and it has been nothing but a headache. I loaded it with $20 and I don't know what happened to my money. I can't get it off, I can't use it. I got stranded because I couldn't order an Uber. That's the whole reason I bought this card so I can get over lift, buy stuff online but everywhere I go it's the decline.

I lost my wallet and had to purchase a Loadable Credit Card at Randalls to make a payment. However I was Unaware of the High $9.95 Monthly Fee. The Fee was taken out on THE DAY I purchased the card. I'm glad I paid my bill immediately upon purchase. Now I just have a Negative -$9.95 balance I have to pay BEFORE I can use this card again. Not very Happy about it.

I am not satisfied with customer service. I signed up for a Green Dot card with the specific reason that my fees would be waived monthly as long as I had 1,000 or more in deposits each month. A few I didn't achieve which I'm fine with. But I have several that I still get charged for. I called 4 times to deal with the situation. I got 2 months credited to me. Several other months that I didn't get reimbursed and continue to be charged 9.95. I'm disappointed and the first opportunity I get I will change banks/companies. I won't do business with a company that doesn't honor what it promotes.

UPDATE ON 11/09/2018: I was happy with my card for four years and suddenly it has been hacked so I can no longer use it! I can no longer have my work check directly added to it. I cannot talk directly with a person and that is upsetting. I would have liked to get another card but have no idea how to go about doing that because I cannot speak to a person. I was so happy with the Green Dot card that I had my son convinced to get one so he could have his work check deposited on it and his friend who lives in another state could send him money... Now I don't think it is such a good idea because anyone can make a card after they find a good number to hack. I still don't know how they can use it if they don't have my PIN or security code. (I know you have to have one for debit and the other for credit.)
Original Review: I really like my Green Dot card, especially when there is a holiday preceding payday, I always get my check as scheduled. I like not having to use a "bank" and I like that I can use a certain bank without any extra fees. The one drawback is that I cannot use my card at the gas pump, I have to go inside and prepay or hope I go to a station that allows me to pump and then pay (lucky for me, I manage a gas station). It does suck when I travel though, there are very few stations that allow me to pump and then pay.

I've had so much going on with my card. Green Dot solved all those problems with no problem... plus I get my direct deposit faster, also with the app it's easier to check your balance without even logging in with your information.

I am very satisfied with my use of this card to pay bills, purchase items online and buy groceries. I am thinking very hard about getting direct deposit. I will continue to use this card and will definitely get another when this expires.

The problem is I need a second card for deposit only for my trust bank to be able to deposit money into my account. I tried to set up a second card and it wouldn't let me. Something about having two cards with the same SS #. So I had to send them my card to put money on it. They tried to putting $1500 on the card and couldn't. They could only put $500 on the card every 24 hours. What's up with that? Other than that I love the card. :)

Peoples owe me. Grrr. I moved new address. And no work. I am maintenance. I've no problem. With you my SSI SSDI always direct deposit early monthly. Everything is good. Also I've hard time to changed in my apps. My personal address said NOT noticed. Strange my land made me move to house no more apts. We fought hearings apts. I live new. Same phone. Relay 24 /7 days. Thank you.
