Easy to load up at Dollar Tree next door where I live and can use it right away to get movies and to go to McDonald's with my best friend and daughter which makes us happy. This will also help me get back on my feet after three years of almost homeless. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Green Dot has been amazing. I'm able to pay my bills and receive my direct deposit 2 DAYS EARLIER than my coworkers with GreenDot!! Never had any problems. I'm always encouraged my friend at work to get Green Dot due to always getting my paycheck 2 DAYS EARLIER!! Also my family to get the card. You never have to deal with the bank with GreenDot and that's what I like! Thank you GreenDot.

My first card was great until someone got my card # so I was out about $400.00 dollars so I cancel the card. I went and bought another one. This time we will be more careful. My husband also has a card and just had my son Johan ** get one also. Thanks.

For the most card I love the card but I have had to change twice because someone took my cash. Not good and I was just out. Not fair. Money should be protected. Thinking about switching to another company. I pay may bills online and it's scary now because I don't know if my money is gone or what. Love the direct deposits. Love the alerts. Should do that anytime I make a purchase.

This company Green Dot doesn't seem to follow any of the federal or state guidelines to fraudulent claims. I've been waiting well over 16 business days for a provisional credit and sadly had to file a complaint with the FTC and Federal Reserve to address this issue.

I like the service. However, I tried to attach the direct deposit account to the online store I purchased with the card. And couldn't due to too many numbers in account number. Therefore what happens? I was however able to connect PayPal to its service. Yet the charge for their service is way too much. I added $25.00 and then Walmart charged me $3.57 to add it. I think all card services charge way too much.

I've been with Green Dot for about six years and am very satisfied. I recently took a trip across country and used my card without any problems; it was accepted everywhere. I also have direct deposit and, again, never a problem. I've recommended your card to several friends and even my son has one.

I love my Green Dot card!!! It's so convenient for me. My funds are usually available 2 days before my payday which is wonderful to me considering I get paid once a month. Thanks Green Dot card! I do like the convenience of Green Dot card... however the fact that we are charged a monthly fee of 7.95 and then a fee of 4.95 every time we reload our card is ridiculous and pricey. I wish we didn't have to pay so much to reload. Other cards are charging 3.00 to reload and I may consider changing cards.

I use the direct deposit and usually get my check about a day early versus having it put in a branch bank locally. Also keeps you from overdrawing on your account which can get expensive. You can only take out $400 a day from ATM would be my only complaint. But I guess if your card was lost or stolen it would give you time to contact them to freeze your account. Overall I love it and will continue to use.

I have been pleasantly surprised with my Green Dot card so far. I honestly expected to have at least a few issues as with past pre-paid accounts but so far, so good. I definitely would and HAVE recommended this card to friends. Thanks.

The only thing I've come across that doesn't seem to work for me is that if I need to withdraw money from my account I get charged by the ATM machine and Green Dot. So then I lose money. I've tried ATM's listed by Green Dot and am still charged for each withdraw.

I'm new to Green Dot, at first it was a little difficult to understand how to refill/load my pre-paid card but little by little I got it. And now am able to load and have my pre-paid Visa ready to use when needed. It's like a savings account w/out a bank.

I love Green Dot cards. The only thing that I don't like Is when you take money out of the ATM that are on the maps where you can take money out they charge you 5.00 dollars. Totally I think it should be 3.00 Max. Other than that I think Green Dot cards are great.

Green Dot has amazing customer service and is trustworthy. It is also convenient. I can manage my card from an app without going to the website. Also, I really like I how I get my check early before the actual payday.

So far I am happy with my Green Dot card. Getting money is easy and haven't had an issue with that. Going to get direct deposit started up so hoping that goes good without any issue. I am happy with green dot and plan on referring it to friends and family whom it may be useful too.

Love my Green Dot card. I haven't had any trouble using the card. Makes my life easier to buy bills and to save up money. For if something happens I know I got my Green Dot card to use. Shouldn't have to pay every time you reload your card. I like Green Dot but sometime it just cost too much to keep money on your card. Or just lower the cost to reload your card. If you want to keep money on card you have to keep putting money on card and that can add up.

I've had a Green Dot Visa for several years without incident. It is, with few exceptions, given the same recognition as any unsecured credit card. I was disappointed when bill paying by checking account number was deleted but I've used it to pay all of the companies that accept credit card payments. I have direct deposit for both my social security and tax returns and have never had a problem.

I was very happy with Green Dot for the last few years. I had no problems, my direct deposit was always 2 days early. Then all of a sudden the past few months I have had problems at gas stations and convenience stores. I inquired when we would be updated to chip cards and was told that "Green Dot is a big fan of chip cards" didn’t answer my question. I had to transfer everything to a bank account where I got a chip card & checks -- Green Dot I loved you but you are not up with the times!

I like my Green Dot card. It helps me in the time of need and convenient for me on the road. My pay is always early. I'm very happy with my green dot. I got my wife one on my account and it's easy for her to pay the bills when I'm in the truck halfway across the state.

It's been ok having the card. I just don't like the monthly fee and then 4.95 to put money on the card. That's a lot and too many emails about direct deposit. I don't want direct yet so I want the emails to stop.

I have been with Green Dot for years and to this day I have had no problems with this company. I have direct deposit to Green Dot. My Amazon, Ebay, and Wish accounts have been secured with no one hacking into it. For me, as long as Green Dot keeps me safe. I'm staying with Green Dot.

No complaints at all… haven't had any issues. Perfect for anyone who doesn't have access to a bank account! I can load money onto my card and access it with fifteen to twenty minutes. They many multiple locations for you to choose from and in every city I've traveled to so far.

My Green Dot card is satisfactory. The monthly fees are low. It is easy to load cash. The MoneyPak’s are very convenient for me and my family to send money to one another. It offers direct deposit but I have not used that feature. I have not had any problems using it to make purchases or pay bills. Easy to use at ATMs. Over all I am satisfied. The only problem I have had is with my online account access. I forgot my password. I keep trying to do a password reset. However the reset codes that are being sent to my email are invalid when I try to use them. Even when I immediately use them after getting the email (they do expire but I am using them within the allotted time). I cannot comment on use of the online access as I have not been able to access it or its features.

My card can be replaced and pay online or over the phone and its easy when my family want to send me money. I tell them to get a MoneyPack card from a lot of convenient places y'all have and less money on sending it.

The service is good but it would be nice if there was some type customer courtesy like overdraft. Sometimes there's emergency before pay day especially when the bank see a pattern of good deposits. Other banks and credit unions have a similar type program.

I change my address recently and haven't receive my card and it's been plenty enough time. It's been over a month since I purchased the card that's why I haven't use it much cause won't let me online purchase and I do a lot of that.

I love having my direct deposit coming to my Green Dot card. I will recommend to friends and family. I wish I can keep more money on my card but I'm living paycheck to paycheck and as soon as I get paid it's always just enough to pay my bills then got to wait two weeks later for more to deposit.

As a long-standing and loyal Greendot customer. I would say I've had an overall good experience with the company. On the other hand, I feel that you would increase your customer base. By discontinuing the reload fee. And only charge the monthly fee of $7.95 for maintenance. This is what most banks practice and it helps to increase their customer base. Also would like to thank you for the option of taking a photo of our paychecks and being able to deposit it that way.

I believe the max limit that one can load on the debt/credit card are far too low. I would like the limit to increase to $10,000. Some of us are black listed on ChexSystems and will be for some years to come. The increased limit amount would allow me to set up direct deposit.

Since you have updated it, it is slower. Payments used to get there next day. Now it's two or more days. I like the rest of the abilities I have with the card. I have since received a couple of return Bill Pay payments with no explanation. Only a date it was returned.

Absolutely horrible. Got this card three weeks ago, still haven't received the permit card yet. Signed up online to do the account, and now the account has locked me out of it because it didn't accept my password and username but still created the account anyway. So I have to call every time I want information. I can't get half the information that I need and nobody can help me with it.

I'd like to be able to opt out of the VIP card. I feel like I was swindled into it. It wasn't explained to me and I wasn't asked if I wanted it. I was just told I get it. I don't want or need the VIP card. I just need the debit card for a bill. Other than that I'm happy with it. I'd give 5 stars if it wasn't for the VIP issue. I'm actually thinking about canceling it because every dollar counts for me.

I was out of town & someone billed my card without my permission. I called Green Dot & they put my card on hold. While that was good I needed the money on my card to pay my expenses. They refused to release the card to withdraw my funds. Luckily I had enough cash but this could of been an issue. I thank them for stopping more fraudulent charges but they need to tell you before they freeze your funds.

I am not happy with all the fees, otherwise I am happy. Also the customer service people are not very knowledgeable, and they were not very nice. I could not understand the person I was talking to. I really don't know what else to say, but it's nice to have this when you don't have a checking account. But too many fees!

I really like the service you provide, also shows the spending list when we purchase something and no over draft fees or late fees, also shows on a map where you can reload your card, all in all just like the service y'all provide. I would recommend this card to family and friends.

I think that five dollars is a bit expensive to load the card. Also you need free atms. I will be moving from Green Dot soon because of this. Also the 9.95 monthly fee when you still have direct deposit is unacceptable. Also the minimum balance to load card should at least be 10 if you're are going to charge 5 dollars to load card.

Great service. Only issue I have is that I never received my permanent card I signed up for. I'm still using the generic card I originally bought. I also stopped receiving my daily texted balance unprompted. I miss that. I prefer using the card online to keep from using my main debit card.

I have been a Green Dot member for almost 6 yrs now and I think it stinks that you cannot use your card as a Mastercard or debit card outside of the US for hotels, dinner etc. when travelling. I travel a lot and don't have any credit cards and I always have to take huge amounts of cash.

My experience overall with Green Dot has been great since I've purchased my card. I can shop online and any store, I can pay bills, I can pretty much do anything I want with the Green Dot card. I would recommend Green Dot debit card to all my friends and family. I love it and I would continue to use the Green Dot card. I have never had any problems with the card so I give Green Dot on a scale of 1-10 definitely a 10 without a doubt.

I've had two check deposits that were unable to be deposited with no real help from representatives or their supervisors. It's like they don't value my business. The only thing offered to fix the problem was to take it somewhere else or have the issuer give me another check.

Poor service. First, every time I send someone money they say it's a hassle to get it from any store. Second, I am never able to load checks into my account taking pictures even though they are clearly a business check. Every time I call someone to ask why my checks won't load they have no idea. I have called the company that reviews the check and verifies them, they have told me multiple times they said it was a good check. Fourth, you guys charge a fee for not uploading money? 7.95$. That's messed up. I will be canceling my account soon if things don't change.

If I had known there was a charge for every $500.00 that I put on it I never would have purchased the card!!! When my new card came in the mail, I still had $30.00 on the other card that I could not use. So I will not recommend Green Dot cards to anyone...

Set up direct deposit but, was not informed it was approved. Was kind of dissatisfied that they would offer 2 day pay early and that was not the case. I would liked to have at least know that the direct deposit was approved. I really enjoy the card services.

I appreciate the ease of having the card to pay a few medical bills that I have gone into agreements with, for services I had to have before I started having insurance. I put my payments in there every month and it keeps my credit from being hurt, actually helps me because it shows I pay my bills on time with the reporting agencies. I was one of those affected when the crash occurred, so any small effort helps to get me back where I was prior to losing my pension, insurance, home, etc.

Initially, using Green Dot was fine--no problems with adding funds at the cash register, or using Green Dot to pay bills. But after a few months of depositing my payroll check via their app, Green Dot started refusing the accept my payroll check, and I ceased using Green Dot.

I'm happy with my Green Dot card. I've had Green Dot since 2014. Direct deposit is always there early. Makes things super easy for me and no overdraft. Love how I can check my account 24/7 using the app. I will be using my card for many many more years.

It's great. The only thing I can't deal with is being charged to hold money in a card, not to fund with that but everything else is okay. I put 20 dollars to start off with a account but charged me for a maintenance fee. How is my card need to be fixed, I don't understand.

Your card is great. The app and website easy to use and it's also easy to reload almost anywhere. I just wish the monthly billing was a little less but overall great experience. I would also like to see a different loyalty program so would be an incentive to use the card more often. Maybe a monthly allowance of "credit" against the rewards.

Going and adding money to my Green for is simple and economical when I reload at The Dollar Tree. The staff at Dollar Tree are trained to know exactly how to load card, and are helpful when I have questions. With my personalized card it's just a scan and enter amount and BAM, I'm ready to shop online!

I used the Green Dot card because I did not have a credit card. I was well pleased with how the Green Dot system was. It was easy to set up the account. The account also made it easy to keep check on how much was in the account. I do recommend to anyone that needs a quick credit debit card to use The Visa Green Dot card for their needs.

I use my cards a lot to pay bills or send money to family or friends. I'm usually on the road a lot so sometimes I don't have time to keep track of my money loads on my card. I'm usually paid a cash bonus for finishing a job early so I like to purchase money packs to add that extra cash to my card for saving, but sometimes if it's a good week I'm unable to load my card due to the limitations of loading.

I don't like that I'm charged 9.99 a month, plus there are ATM fees near 5.50 just to get cash. Other than charges, I do not like that I can only spend $400 a day with my account. I'd like to go back to using regular Green Dot, not Cash Back.

I got the card as a gift for my Birthday. The initial fee plus monthly maintenance fee took a bit chunk out of the original total. Almost $8 of the original $25 loaded on to it. Way too expensive for a Visa gift card. I did like that they sent me, within a week, a personalized brand new card. I will keep it just in case I need it for another purpose.

GD held onto my Amazon $ return for 21 days once; I've been overcharged several times on my monthly fee & I originally signed up with GD because they promised NO monthly fees. I'm enrolled to be able to check my account by phone, yet currently and many times previous, I'm not able to view my account history and cannot check my balance. I shouldn't have to make an hour-long phone call to GD customer service in order to attempt to get my account straightened & in order to be able to check my balance and history. If I didn't have my child support set up with this GD card, I wouldn't still have this account set up.

Your charges on new cards are not processed as stipulated. I bought a 25 dollar prepaid and was charged before my item I order was done processing embarrassed me to death. I possibly should look into contacting the BBB on this matter for further investigation as I am not the only one who has had this issues with both types including your My Rewards card.

I have had my money stolen off this Green Dot card. People are transferring my funds onto gift cards and spending my hard earned money. It hurts me. I have 3 children and now my card had been emptied and I may or may not get it back. The lady said, "That so messed up."

This is the second time I have gotten a Green Dot card and I love it. I have direct deposit and I get my money one day early, sometimes that's really great. There are just 2 things I don't like and they are #1) I can't use it at the gas pump, so I have to withdraw money from the ATM which brings me to problem #2) I hate getting charged $2.50 to take money out. I don't always stop at the supermarket where I know that I can get money back when I shop to avoid the charge. Other than that I really like having my Green Dot card. I have recommended Green Dot to all my friends and I believe that a few have actually got the card.

Overall my experience with Green Dot has been great. It is always very helpful to receive my direct deposit paycheck two days before it would normally be deposited. If you have your paycheck deposited, it is fairly easy to meet the monthly requirements for the monthly fee to be waived. I would recommend Green Dot to others!

Someone has taken money off the card that we didn't authorize it. I would like to see any transaction that has occurred in the last days. We tried to call customer service and received nothing. I was disappointed with the product in that it seems like an unfair abuse of people in poverty. I received a Green Dot card as a holiday gift in December and never registered it until July. First of all, it's cumbersome to register and I was charged a fee immediately on a card I had never registered (but was not notified that I would be charged a fee right away). Plus I couldn't use the card at a store checkout without an exact amount. I tried to clear my card on a bill that was larger than the amount on the card - my bill was $65 and I had been gifted $50 on the card. The system doesn't allow to use the full balance without typing in the specific amount being deducted from the card (which is really frustrating). I wanted to just clear the card then pay the remainder using another payment method - but the transaction would not go through that way.
To make it work, I asked the store rep to enter the exact amount on the card which should have been $50 since I had JUST registered the card within the last 48 hours. It did not work after several attempts at $50, then I realized I must have been charged a fee (already), which I couldn't remember offhand the amount, so I asked the teller to type in the exact amount of $40 just to be safe. Now I have some weird balance remaining on my card, which in the end I feel like it's stealing because I'm not likely to utilize a stupid balance of $3.45 or some awkward amount that is hard to remember. So in the end, the remaining balance is just absorbed by more fees over time. Someone gifted me $50 through your company, of that amount you will likely get ten dollars and I'm only benefiting from $40. I will tell everyone I know not to use this product and just give cash. Your business model is corrupt, predatory and hurts the most vulnerable communities.

I have tried for several months to do mobile deposit and every time I get, "check not legible". Every time it is perfectly legible. It frustrates me to no end because now I have to pay a larger check cashing fee and then another fee to add money to my account. My employer does not offer direct deposit so don't even try and state that if I had direct deposit every thing would be better. I also get frustrated with this company when comes time for my tax return every year in February because they think it's cute and funny to hold my direct deposit of my return every year for 10 days. It is clearly from the IRS and a direct deposit so I should have access to my account the moment it hits.

I received a Green Dot card with $10 loaded on it as a birthday present. When I went to use it at the store there was only .05 on the card. When I checked the card online I saw they took off the $9.95 monthly fee. I then called & explained to the person at customer service about being my birthday present she waived the fee & put it back on the card. The person who purchased this card didn't know there was a $9.95 monthly fee or she wouldn't have bought it. Green Dot should do what Russell Simmon's Rush Card does, take a one time fee of $20.00 off the card when you first load money to the card. Not charge the card $9.95 a month. If the person that has a Green Dot card doesn't have any money to put on the card the card gets suspended.

I am mostly happy with my card. I do have a few issues, as several banks are declining the card. The daily limit to withdraw is too low, and not able go to two banks in day. Also to get a loan from you people, the app doesn't allow you to use retired & SS for income. It asks for employment only. Not fair to us retired people.

I do not like the ATM $500 limit. My pay checks are more than that and it is an inconvenience to go to the ATM every day until my money is off. I go to a free ATM but still get charged from the Green Dot card on top of the monthly fee.

Except for the very, very difficult time with getting a card replaced, after a overcharge by a cellphone store, all my experiences with the Green Dot card have been great. Customer service is outstanding, having all my social security checks are directly deposited into my Green Dot account, because I take advantage of your direct deposit system, I receive my money about 4 days earlier than before using Green Dot direct deposit.

I love this card... I get paid a day early... and I can never get an overdraft fee like with banks. This card has made it so easy to manage my money. I wished there were a place to transfer funds to not use like a savings... but I have figured that one out... by getting a piggy bank. LOL.

My friend has been using Green Dot prepaid debit card for work expenses for over 5 years. He had no real big problems until they just cut his card off and made it so he can't even get another. Talked to customer service and they say 1 customer doesn't matter. They’re not worth the problems they create. Horrible business model.

I love using this card.. It gives me the freedom to have direct deposit and to buy things I need without having to worry about over charging my card. If it is lost or stolen and there is no money on it then no one can get the money off or charge something to my card and that is so great. Keep up the good work. Love the card.

I LOVE MY CARD, I will recommend this card to other people. I like the advantage of getting paid 1 day before the actual date. I also enjoy the advantage of going to any CVS to make a deposit. I just believe personal checks should be for all accounts.

I've been a Green Dot customer since 2011 and have experienced fraud on every card I have received! Your customer service representatives haven't done anything to remedy the fraud perpetrated against me, rather assisted the person perpetrating the fraud! My 1st card was used for his purposes solely, and another was registered in a false name he consistently used. The most recent statement I requested for the replacement card just received has 1 charge and a year and a half of service charges for a card I did not have in my possession! It was reported stolen and never replaced along with 2 others. At this point approximately $2800 cannot be accounted for and you cannot find records of my accounts!

I wish we could use Green Dot for Uber rides and online purchase like I can't use it for Hungry Howie's. I just wish you could use it like a regular debit card and use it online regularly and for Uber rides.

I'm so happy with the ease and convenience of my Green Dot Card! No complicated bank fees, no minimum balance required and my monthly fee is cheaper than my old bank. Reloading at CVS is smooth and easy as well. Also, set all my bill pay and I will setup my direct deposit next month. Teaming up with ConsumerAffairs means Green Dot is legit and on the up and up.

In general this card sucks! I have had way too many problems with it. I will not recommend this to anyone. The point of having this card is to make life easier but it hasn't. For example I have to get a brand new because I can't log into my account online.

I was extremely dissatisfied with the fact that you did not honor my request for a dispute on a company that charged me $5.99 for a sample, which I never got and then additionally charged me I believe it was $87 + some change. I don't have it all right in front of me. I never received anything from this company. NOT 1 THING!!! And yet you still did not honor my request. Not happy with the way you handled my money on this one at all! It was for SLATE Diet or something like that.

I am disappointed with the increase for the monthly fee going from $5.95 to $7.95. Plus there is a charge for adding to the card a fee of $4.95. I can no longer afford your card. The card is no longer a convenience for me. I regret the increase fee now or in the future.

Green Dot makes it easier to budget monthly expenses and or to put money away that you don't want to spend. I have checking and savings accounts and Green Dot just makes it so much simpler to use and I never have to worry about overdraft fees or someone stealing my bank account info. I put the amount I need to pay my bills every month in my account and that's it. Thank you Green Dot for making things a lot easier for me!

I like the card and it has is benefits of getting my deposits a day earlier than regular paydays. It is a hit and miss though. Sometimes my funds will be there the day before of the day of payday, so a little consistency there would be nice.

The card is very good and easy to use and refill. Now ever, after setting up the card on the computer, I have had nothing but problems getting on the website to check my balance. Other than that problem, the card comes in very handy.

I love my Green Dot card, but the monthly fee is expensive. I am on a limited income and it's hard to see $9.95 come off my direct deposit amount every 2nd of the month. I would have thought with direct deposit I would get a break on monthly fees. Thinking about changing cards to something that won't charge as much.

I felt a little deceived by the fee, I kept seeing that there was a fee, but I never was able to find the amount until I looked at my account balance, and it had been deducted. The fee, however, will not prevent me from using my Green Dot Card.

I love it so far, just the $4.95 fee to upload money is very high for me. The other day all I had left in my pocket was 20$ and wanted to upload $10 of it to my card but the clerk said the minimum was $20. So I wanted to upload my last 20$ but couldn't because of the fee. Please lower if possible.

My check goes out on a Monday. I don't get it til Friday... I would receive it on Wednesday or Thursday if got my check by mail... I have problems paying my bills by phone or online... when they ask for a checking account number and routing number they don't go through. I needed to get a regular checking account. Too much hassle.

Not only that I had to call more than once about you guys taking money off my card last straw when the IRS told me you guys rejected my refund and you guys clearly did tried to reach out and even you guys managers didn't properly do things. smh

This card is a godsend. My bank card was hacked and I got this card. It's been so good. I use for all my paying. Bills, gas, everything and everything I need to do. And when it gets low I just go reload it and don't have to worry someone is going to get at what little I have.

I would have thrown it away if it didn't have any money on it. It kept saying invalid entry. I spent most of the night getting it registered. Most of the day getting the balance. So, I am not happy. Now I am waiting for the new card. I am hoping that I am not going to go through the same thing.

This is the card for me. I have never had a single problem with my card or direct deposits. I actually lost my card and had to call in to report it, The lady was very nice and helpful. She stopped the card from working and sent me a new one while making sure it stayed to my account not to mess up my direct deposit. Received a new card 5 days later. I can't text and get my balance or history, this issue has been going on for over a month. I have sent a couple of emails and the response I got said Green Dot knew of the issue but there was no deadline to get this fixed. It is very difficult to get a live person to speak with!!! I need to order a new card with my correct last name and every time I call I am put in the never ending automated loop. My divorce has been final almost 2 years and I still cannot get a new card with my correct last name.

So far everything Is OK, I had trouble getting the card delivered to me. Where I live we only have PO Boxes and the postmaster does not deliver to street addresses. Other than that It is alright. Are we ever gonna get cards with chips in them maybe??

I've had nothing but issues with my Green Dot card. I've had multiple transactions taken out. That I did not approve and one of them I'm having trouble with your reimbursing right now so I'm not happy. I'm honestly considering closing my account out and switching to NetSpend if we cannot get this figured out because this is ridiculous. I've had over $70 out of my account that I did not approve.

The card is great and everything but I hate how I can only withdraw 400$ a day. That's just unrealistic. And for some reason I can't get gas with the card. It always gets declined even though I have money on the account. But other than that it works everywhere else.

My only problem with the card is that the fee to reload it seems rather high. I loaded $35 on it yesterday and the total came up to $38.something... $3 extra just to reload? I've noticed the more that I attempt to load on, the more I am charged. I can understand a fee for getting cash back, I just wish the reloading prices were lower.

On my PayPal account it said you can use the Green Dot Money Pak card to add money to your account. So I went and bought one. Tried to use it and nothing was working. Went back to the store and the cashier told me you have to purchase another card to go with it first that is the Green Dot Visa card. Then had to wait for it to come in the mail before I could register the account and add the Money Pak refill card. The whole process was so time consuming and so confusing that I didn't know if I was coming or going. No one at the store knows anything about the cards, they just sell them. If you call customer service you get someone that doesn't speak very good English. That is extremely frustrating. The more you tell them you can't understand them they say goodbye and hang up on you. Overall I would never have gone through the experience if I knew what I was in for and then they charge you another $7.95 a month service charge. Horrible Experience.

I have had my card over a year now and love the rewards. I do receive my pension and disability several days early each month. I don't have any problems although I would love to be able to deposit checks. At this time I can only deposit cash. Other than that totally impressed and loving my card.

I have had my card since Feb of this year and have not received any cash back from my purchases I've made. I've even called about it and the rep could not even tell me when my accumulated funds will post. This is the worst card and service I've ever had. This needs to get fix immediately.

The negative about Green Dot is when there is a problem it takes forever to fix it. On the other hand, a more positive note about Green Dot happens to be direct deposit. My deposit has an 90% overall record of always arriving at the same time to my account.

Overall is fine, but the charge of $7.99 monthly is highly. Because if the person charge $20 add $4 by the charge and addition you cost monthly, is considered weird. ((20+4=24)-7.99=16.01), I think that the cost monthly is high for the charge.

I personally enjoy the Green Dot card for its convenience of easy reloading, ease of use & control over funds. The minimal bank surcharges are a plus. Also the fact that we can only charge what we have w/out the risk of overdraft. I have had a bad past experience with a large bank of which I had held 3 accts for over 15yrs which when we fell upon hard times not only did that bank foreclosed not only our small home but froze our accts & left us in the awkward position of having to call all expected auto-draft acct holders our situation & make payments out of pocket while the bank kept over 5k of our funds on hold not even giving us a prior notice. Their issue was, "We were depositing too much money!”
Prior to Katrina they had no problem with our business acct depositing large sums, post Katrina our business suffered immensely & we had to climb back up. Thankfully 10yrs post Katrina we were finally regaining our footing when that bank-(one) decided we looked suspicious due to large deposits, & froze our accts. We laughed & said the FBI & all other agencies would be bored tapping us or even following us around due to the fact that, "All there was to see was my husband going to warehouses, tool supply stores, & flooring stores of which per his profession as a floor installer was routine. Oh & let's not forget his trips to the dump!" Tapping our phones would have been hilarious as well since all his calls pertain to customers & dealers of floors & mine consist of Teachers & Dr's for both my children & Dr's for myself. Absolutely ridiculous! We no longer trust the banking industry whatsoever & will NEVER place more than necessary in any institution.

I love the convenience of the card. I added a second cardholder so I can load the card and my son in Ohio has immediate access to it. I feel the monthly fees are a little excessive so I currently on the process of getting another card with less fees and discontinue using this one.

For the most part Green Dot is great. The fees are too much though and not a lot of places accept it. I.e. Uber and Sling TV. I would love to see these places begin to and not consider it a "prepaid card".

Overall I really loved the card. So simple to buy and reload whenever I choose. Activation was super easy but I gave it 3 stars because I recently reloaded the card at the same store I purchased it from and they reloaded it. Took 2 seconds but when I tried to log into my account online I got locked out twice maybe a glitch in the website or glitch with my phone. I was just trying to make sure the money went through and it's been I'd say 3 days. Still can't figure out if the money got transferred on to the card. I tried using it twice with no luck so I'm dissatisfied and disappointed because I really had high hopes.

The only concern that I have with the card is the money going up for the cost of the card. I received notice that a person needs to keep around $1000 in card to not have such a cost. I barely make that much in a month and don't think it should be so high. Other than that I have been very happy.

I'm very pleased with my card. But this month deducted a charge fee of 5.95 which never before had been deducted. Would like to know why and if it can be credited to my card. Besides that, I'm very happy with my card.

The only reason I got the card was because I was guaranteed my paycheck 2 days sooner which has never happened and I'm still stuck paying a crazy monthly fee. I just assume go open a bank account because I have never been treated like a valued consumer of this product. I'd say that Green Dot has the customer service in the business and filled with false promises.

I have had this card for years and never had an issue till now. I always get paid on Thursday at 4 am and today nothing. Blank. Zero. Nada. Where is my money?Called the help line on it. Will come they tell me but also no dd is pending they see so I call my job. We don't track dd so where is my money...

I really don't understand the VIP FEES. 5:95 with direct deposit and still a monthly charge. Why all these fees? I would love to get the card and use direct deposit but the cost is a bit much not unless I'm not understanding.

Speaking with an agent is always difficult. My questions always get lost in translation. I do prefer the online chat option that seems to be a bit more accurate than calling in. I will still continue to use this card as long as it remains convenient.

I absolutely love this card and all it has to offer, could update/improve your check picture taking process. I've tried depositing several checks by taking pictures but it never seems to work. Other than that I will continue to use this card as long as you guys are still in business.

I enjoy the convenience of the card but I feel that the charges to load it and the monthly charge is ridiculous. I wanted to use this card to save money, not use it up on fees. I get charged every time I put money on my card. I hate it!

I have had my Green Dot Account 2 years. I am very satisfied with the service. I love that I get paid two days before payday. I lost my card while out shopping, and they had me a new card in my mailbox within 5 days... Thanks.

I have been with you I think around 7-8 months... so far it has been a very positive experience. I actually did recommend you to a friend who works with me and she got an account and you were recommended to me by someone who had one. I would like it if I got paid on Wednesday every pay instead of Thurs (I have been a couple of times) because getting paid early was the reason I signed up with you, I do have a bank checking acct too. I think charging $7.00 a month is a bit much. Green Dot should lower the monthly rate myself as a green dot card holder I would be much happier. If rates were to be lowered I would have a lot more people who I know would be card holders.

My husband and I began using Green Dot years ago now - probably a decade or so ago. We used it as an alternative to traditional banking, because at the time, our credit was very tarnished after we lost a business. Although we have had traditional accounts since, we've kept the Green Dot as our primary banking solution. Over the years we've almost never had a problem using it for any circumstance that a traditional bank would offer, with the exception of depositing or cashing personal checks. We love the ease, convenience, and the simplicity of the fee structure. As a low income family that lives check to check, the fact that I don't need to worry about excessive overdraft fees was the most appealing, both when we first got the card to today. If there is no funds, a transaction simply doesn't go through. I rate this bank very highly for anyone wanting an alternative to traditional banking!

I like my Green Dot card and have direct deposit, but would love to get a little extra money from my card if needed. I have direct deposit so it would be back in the next payday. It would be nice and help my family out. You can over withdraw a bank account so should the Green Dot card.

The only complaint I have is that there is nowhere near me that does not charge for cash back. With a high ($9.95 per month) service charge, I am getting chunks taken out monthly since I have to get cash back in order to buy a required money order for my rent. As far as the rest, I could not ask for better!

I have a problem with having to pay a fee to add money to the card then pay a monthly fee just to have the card. There should be somewhere to load fee free. I have another prepaid card that does not charge. I needed to add 550 dollars and had to pay two fees because you could only add 500 at a time.

Up to now I am very pleased with the use of the card. The experience has been very good. Customer service has been very nice and helpful. The reload has been easy and the locations are very well distributed. The only complaint I have is that the card cannot be used outside the United States.

I think that Green Dot card is a very good card to have it. Very help the individual to keep account of their spending. I have used the card on several occasion. The card provide a way that you don't have to have cash on your personal.

The card is ok. It's just the fact that in order to load money without using cash you have to go through MoneyPak. With moneypak the loads are limited. You can only do 5 loads in a week no matter how big or small. They need to change this. Other than that the card is ok.

I am disappointed because when I send a text to get my balance etc. it no longer works. The only way to find out is to call the toll free number. Please fix this!! I would hate to have to no longer use this card.

Too many unnecessary fees, even if you are not using the card. Then when you upgrade you are charged another fee. I am still waiting to receive a pin # to withdraw cash, that is why I paid for the upgrade.

Overall happy with my Green Dot card. It's very convenient and easy to use and refill. The only downside is the monthly charge. It should less if you use your card like 5 times a month or just a yearly charge. That is the only bad thing.

Y'all charge too much for the monthly fee. I had to reload money twice to pay a bill. I had enough on there the first time till y'all took the fee off. I will not be using Green Dot card anymore. I found a card that only charge 300 dollars a month.

So far Green Dot has been very helpful and easy to use. I like it a lot. It very easy and handy and putting my paycheck on auto deposit was easy. The only thing that sucks is green dot states get your pay check 2 days earlier but so far my check hasn't been in on my card two days early.

I don't like that my card is not protected for theft are stolen. They can use credit without Identification showing they are the card holder. I reported my card stolen after losing it, all the money on my card was gone, because they used credit.

I needed a private account to pay off an obligation, this is the perfect plan for me. I am not at this time planning on a long time with this account, we shall see. I worry I won't have the monthly fee, and I am not use to the "loading" fee, but all in all it has been a good choice.

It's a shame that it cost 2 dollars to buy 20 dollars minimum to load. Then to reload 6 dollars then still 20 dollars minimum. Then 8 dollars fees are taken off. These fees are just as bad as the banks... This is a shame in this country...

I love how I get paid a day before payday. Never had a problem with my card or direct deposit. It's very easy to keep up with your funds via text messages and my online account. You can check your card anywhere, anytime. Better than dealing with a bank.

Can't get my money back. Confused people. Too high with fees. Can't get a live person for a least 30 mins. Rude people managers. And I feel it's a rip off with those fees and it's hard to know when your money will be applied.

My online banking sucks! I'm constantly locked out of my account. I try calling to speak to a representative, which seems impossible. I wish you guys were a little more handle on with customers service. I just want to be able to see my money I earn.

My wife and I have been Green Dot customers for years. We used to live in Florida where we had an account but something happened and the account got cancelled and we had to open another account. There used to be certain banks or ATMs that we could go to that did not charge us and that is no longer the case. We sometimes need to withdraw money from our account and it is difficult and I don't like to because of the high rates that the card charges. Other than that I am very happy with my card.

The only downfall to the card is the limits on the card. Whatever my balance is I should be able to take that amount off my card at any ATM. The monthly fee isn't that bad even though it has went up since I first got it, but since it has maybe we should have the option of no limits at ATMs or no upload fee.

This is my first time using a prepaid card and I got to say not what I expected at all. I thought it would be very easy to use and it's not. The only problem I didn't have is reloading the card. I started with the store bought Green Dot card and made my account online right away. I use it had no problem with that. I tried going on my online account. Turns out I couldn't even login into it or reset my password. Supposedly there was no account with "that social". I think I would know my social security number. I tried calling to get my balance. Turns out I couldn't do that either. The answering machine keeped saying enter social over and over again then invalid social and to top it off their so customer service that's not a machine to talk to. I got my card in the mail. The one with my name on it which I was never able to activated it! I also tried to reach to someone by email several times just to be ignored and never emailed back!!!

It's been very useful to me. I don't think I have any complaints about the card. The two days earlier on the direct deposit is also a very big help. It allows you to pay some bills a couple days earlier than you normally would. It pretty much function like any normal bank card.

The card is perfect for reloading at any time but not all purchases can be made with a Green Dot like for Uber. But other than that the card I would recommend to anyone and wish the minimum allowed to be load on the card could be 10$ not 20. How can we fix that.

I just loaded $425 & was checking to see if money was showing in account yet. I explained to rep why do I keep getting this error message (The keyword you specified was not recognized.) & why does it take so long for money to load to card see never answered either? But I got all other kind of info. I asked her to transfer me to somebody else that could comprehend and answer the questions that I was asking. She told me I could call back to check my balance. I explained to her that that was too aggravating and that I just needed to be able to check it via text it. When will that problem be fixed? Needless to say I never and adequate answer to any of my questions.

Your customer service is the worst. We have not been able to get any help, the people are foreign and we can't understand their language. We lost a card. We were told to go buy a new one as we did. You then sent us 2 cards and they could never be activated. We have had to pay the card fees but they could never get 2 cards to activate. That is crap.

It's a great card, refunds take a long time! Direct Deposit isn't within 2 days as it states on the direct deposit paper in the envelope that the cards come in and you think you're getting paid earlier but it doesn't happen at all. Oh well at least there should be bonus perks for using the card every day.

I really like this reload card account. The only thing that burns me is the 3.95 fee to put money on it and then the 7 dollar and some odd change fee for not putting enough money in the account between a certain time. Wish there was a way to deposit thru an ATM. That would be great.

I have had a GD card for quite a while. It is helpful for my weekly budgeting. The direct deposit and/or in store reload are great features. It also allows me to send money to my children and grandchildren when needed. Anytime I have had to call ( which is not often) I have received great customer service. I have and will continue to recommend GD.

Thankfully I have your Green Dot card that gives me 5% cashback so I can recoup some of the money I'm being charged to reload my card. I wish it were more reasonable to say $1.49 or $1.99, but $4.95 seems too steep. Especially when all I maybe can do is $20. Basically a quarter of what I'm wanting to reload is going to a convenience fee. That seems a bit excessive. I know I can do a direct deposit of my paycheck to avoid the charge, but when all I'm using this for is to pay certain bills or make online purchases without giving out my actual banking information, the reload charge seems a bit too much. I wish to see a new policy with a lesser reload charge in place soon. Other than that, I love the card. The app is really useful too. Much better at checking your balance. Thank you for your time.

I just want to say that I am very pleased with Green Dot card. My direct deposit gets in 2 days earlier. I love the freedom it gives me. I'm just very happy with it. I've even got some friend that got the card also. I give it a 10 overall for everything :) :)

Overall Green Dot is good but could be great if it didn't restrict to only 6 MoneyPak loads in 30 days. I fully understand the logic behind limiting the dollar amount of loading per month but HOW seems a bit ridiculous. Competitors aren't this extreme.

I have my Green Dot card 5 years now. I use it for everything, the ease and convenience of the card is fantastic. I highly recommend it to all my friends. The online app is easy to use. The only drawback is if I wear it out within the time limit I have to pay for a new card, and it doesn't report to the credit companies. Thank You Green Dot.
