    Ordered some stuff online found out it was a scam. Tried to stop payment immediately and they told me there was nothing they could do for me. Ask to speak to supervisor they said there's no supervisor available that one wasn't there. Everybody knows supervisors are always there. Told her I wanted my payments stopped. Told me there's nothing they can do about it because I authorized it. Ask them what's the point of having a credit card if I can't stop payment 10 minutes after I ordered something. They said they'd have a person call me back. I told her again I wanted to speak to supervisor. She hung up on me. What kind of customer service is that? I've been with them for years pay $5 every time. I want to put up the $500 on there and won't let you put more without paying another $5.

    Glad to take your money but when you're in trouble they do nothing to help you so now what I'm going to have to go through just losing my money. Thanks Green Dot. I really appreciate that. Thanks for your support and your poor customer service. I got hung up on. Are you kidding me? What kind of customer service place does that. You can barely understand the woman to begin with then she hangs up on me. Unacceptable. What kind of people are you hiring that hang up on your customers that are paying you? We pay you to protect us and you're not doing it.

    App and website has not worked all day. I can’t access the money I have in the vault for my bills. They’ve given no updates, or even acknowledged the issue. I’ll be taking my money out when I can, and deactivating my card. I’ll have late fees for not being able to pay my bills today. The first of the month, and how many people without access to their money?

    I had a problem with the direct deposit of my government benefits. The recordings kept telling me the same thing. I called my benefits provider and verified the routing and account number. The I called Green Dot back and finally got a customer service rep. She hung up on me. This happened 6 more times before I finally asked to speak to a supervisor. I was put into a recording and it hung up on me. On my 8th call, I finally spoke with someone who said she was a manager and I got some information. I should not be treated this way and I have to pay a $9.95 fee every month for these services. I am switching to a competitor ASAP and telling everyone I can to do the same.

    I bought a MoneyPak with my bill money and it wouldn’t let me load it onto my card, I contacted customer service over 7 times and not only did they not know how to do their job, but actually costed me more $ with their ideas. Asked for a supervisor, but were so busy (which is an alarm) that the supervisor was supposed to call me back and never did. I ended up having to get a refund for my money which I still haven’t received. By far the absolute worst card company either reg credit or prepaid that I’ve ever dealt with. DO NOT BUY THIS CARD!!!

    The website and apps will be down for DAYS! YOU ARE UNABLE TO SPEND YOUR MONEY! This happens multiple times each month and it's getting worse as time goes on. Do not use this card services, it's the worst ever!

    I literally called to confirm my direct deposit information and any other information was set up correctly with customer service. My social security deposit finally posted only for Green Dot to not access my funds. I had to call back at 12 pm and was placed on hold for until 2:15 pm. Then the representative told me that my account would have to be under review since it is a large deposit for 4 hours! That is ridiculous and stupid! I asked for a supervisor, and was read a generic script. This is my first time banking with them and last! No correspondence, no email of any kind, no phone call... Poor business!

    I rented a U-Haul and U-Haul explained that there would only be a 100.00 hold on my card but Green Dot decided to put another 200 hold on my account and wont release the funds. I have gone back and forth with them and there is no one that speaks English. I will never use this card again. This is very frustrating. $300 is a lot of money for me. I am a single mother with 3 children.

    I had my TurboTax refund put on a Green Dot prepaid card. Little did I know, the card would charge $4.95 per month, just as a maintenance fee! Taking my money and for what? Who wants to feel like they are being taken advantage of? No thank you, I would not recommend to anyone.

    I recently moved and have had and continue to having difficulty updating my home address on file. I moved from one assisted living facility to another. I tried to update my address online as I did with 90% of my other services like my cell phone. They have disabled the update home address feature online and require you to call. When I call, I was instructed to send a copy of my DL with the new address and bill with the new address and my name on it to an email address and told it will take 48 hrs. I have been doing this repeatedly for ONE MONTH. When it has not been updated, there has not been any notification or response back to me either by phone or email as to why the address was not updated. Each time I've called, I'm given a case number, told to resubmit and include the case number.

    I have done exactly these things and the address is STILL NOT UPDATED. I can't update my Paypal account address until this address is correct. Yesterday, the representative said that my DL was expired when it was brand new issued last month!! Today, the representative is saying that my address isn't on the bill! It's a rent bill from the facility that has the address, my name, and unit number in the upper left hand corner. I have twice asked to speak with a supervisor and been told one will call within 4 hours without someone calling.

    I have lost all my patience with this process! My most recent case number is **. Everything matches! I cannot understand why they are making this process so difficult for me to update my address. If this is not resolved in the next few days I will be switching banks and never doing business with Green Dot or Walmart MoneyCard again. It has been more difficult updating my address with them than with the Social Security office or the Department of Veterans Affairs from which I receive my pension. It shouldn't be more difficult to update my bank than a federal agency.

    I bought a MoneyPak card to deposit money and their website said wait for 20 mins (I waited for 30) and they kept rejecting my deposit and now they won’t even let me deposit today because maximum deposit attempts were reached. Can’t get ahold of a ** human and their automated system is less than absolutely useless. Would not recommend anyone buy their products ever. Go to PayPal or some other company. This company is the worst.

    I got a $25 Green Dot Gift Card from a friend and they made me register for their banking system, including ALL of my information: SS#, DOB, address, everything!!! And then they took off $8 processing fee from $25 card which was left with nothing. I advised my friends to not buy this card as nobody has a right to require a SS# or address for a gift card!

    I had to buy a card to put money on so I could pay a bill with it and it absolutely won’t work. I've called customer support. I've emailed y’all as well. I put MY money that I worked hard for to pay a bill and it literally won’t let me use the card. I have the app and everything. It’s giving me so much anxiety. I just want my money back or for the damn card to work!! It’s ridiculous!!! It won’t let me use my pin. It’s been impossible to speak to anyone of y’all because the customer service says that they cannot give me MY pin because it’s “security” when I already gave them my social security #. I need answers, my money back or for my card to work!!! I’m highly disappointed. I need this bill paid WITH THIS CARD BECAUSE THE MONEY IS ALREADY ON THE CARD. HELP!!!!

    Amazon authorization hold credit - not released on account over 7 days and I was told to keep checking my account. I spoke to customer service reps 7 times and 4 times was refused being transferred to a supervisor. I did speak to a supervisor twice to no avail. The funny thing is the amount showing available on the account is the same amount but it's actually not available. I made 7 calls. Spent over 10 hours on hold with no results. Also direct deposit is late that should have posted today with no explanation. I believe they are having system problems and won't admit it or address it with customers. I never had problems until now and see a lot of complaints by customers in the same time frame. Once all my credits are released I will have my direct deposits go to my bank and never use this company every again. I use this card for early deposit.

    I bought a prepaid visa from Walmart and sent it to a friend. It never arrived. I took a picture of the card's package all sides and the receipt. The card never arrived. In this day of technology it should be easy to track if the card was used and who used it with my pics but they say can do nothing. I called all the possible numbers and talked to reps. Same story.

    They don't have an actual customer service where you can talk to someone. I was trying to set up a card for my son. It lets me go through the whole process, and then says it can't verify the information. It doesn't allow you to fix the information at all. I wasted money buying the card because I can't load money on it.

    Your customer service is absolutely terrible. I had submitted a dispute and received a letter in the mail a few days ago saying that my dispute was accepted and the money of $4,071 was returned to my account. Well I have no clue which account this could be but when I called and had to wait on hold for a total of 5 hours and get tossed around from one representative to the next none of them knowing what they're talking about or even asking for the claim number when I give them a claim number acting like they don't know what it is then saying that my dispute was denied. I already got the letter. This is not right. I need this money. Somebody has stolen my card and spent my taxes from it. You sent me a letter saying that the claim was approved and the money was in my account. This is not right and I'm going to be taking legal action if it's not corrected.

    I got a Green Dot card from One Main Financial. Then I was supposed to receive my personalized card but never did. I tried calling to reset my pin and the person said I had to go to the app but I cannot log in while I'm on the phone. Then he tried to transfer me to get a new card when I asked to speak to a manager. The service from the organization is horrendous and I told the guy off and hung up. I'll be banking somewhere else for sure.

    STAY AWAY!!!! My tax refund was deposited with them and I still can't access my money!!! First of all I only use Greendot during tax time. So when my taxes were deposited I called to get a replacement card... When I first called he said he needed my phone # to verify me, I didn't use this card since a year ago. I don't know which number they had on file. I asked him could he verify my identity another way and he said "NO THEY ONLY CAN AUTHENTICATE YOU THRU YOUR PHONE NUMBER." This was the stupidest thing I ever because people change numbers all the time. So there was Literally nothing I could about Greendot having my money because they would send me a new card w.o me telling my number. So finally a week later I was able to remember my username, signed in and got the number.... So now I fall back and request a new card in the 23rd of March.

    The rep GUARANTEED ME it would be to me by the 27th of March (EXPEDITED)... So on the 27th I called like WHERE'S MY CARD??? The rep says "it was just shipped yesterday on the 26th. Standard you have to wait 7-10 business days." WHATTTTTT??!! Not only did that rep lie and say he shipped on the 23rd but he also didn't expedite it. I was IN SHOCK... And it was so hard talking to these Indians, they talk slow & you always have to explain things over and over too them. So now I'm without my mo without weeks now. The lady says she will expedite it and I can get my tracking number the next day. Now it's the next day and I've been on the phone with this lady Over an hour, she doesn't understand ANYTHING!!!! feels like I'm talking to a child that's just learning English it's horrible.

    Then I ask for a supervisor and she goes away for 5 seconds then says no supervisor. They can call you back in 24 hours though... Like are you serious!!?? Then they suspend your account when you cancel a card. It's the worst service ever. You can't even transfer money if you dont have your card. Like how normal banks do!!!! Zelle transfers or bank 2 bank transfers for times when you can't access your card. If my mom has Greendot why can't I transfer it to her I hateeeee Green Dot. I will neverrrrrr everrr use them again. This is the worst service everrrr. The least they can do is use American customer service reps. Or people who understand English fluently.... Now I'm w.o my money for weeks and can't pay for my child's medicine. I'm withdrawing all my money when that card comes and never ever using them again.

    The customer service will do anything, say anything just get you off the phone. I had my card stolen. I reported to them. Asked them to put hold on my account since didn't have the documents I needed at the time. Change my address which lied about what I needed. Change my address. It took almost two weeks finally get the truth from them but they never put hold on my account. There was 385.99 cents stolen, they gave me three emails address to sent my documents to before I got right one. Had wait three days before they even tell me where my money was spent. Still waiting for my account info to file police report. Biggest scam ever.

    I put 460 dollars on a Green Dot card to pay my bills. I am a single mother of two. When I tried to use the card it would not let me. I have tried to get it fixed for 3 months.     I bought a prepaid card to use specifically on bills. There's $1,000 on it and another $1,000 bouncing between my bank and this one. The CS guy kept saying I have to verify who I am and my direct deposit. I don't want direct deposit. I have that with my main bank. No one can tell me how to get my money back.

    I had put money on the Green Dot card for my electric bill. And somehow someone used my number without getting my actual card in hand. And used all my money for an unauthorized charge. I have been trying and trying to get my money back for over a month now and to no avail. The customer service representatives are very rude and sometimes even hang up on me. And in the meantime I am without electricity because of a non payment. I have no idea on what to do anymore. Please do not ever use this card or this could happen to you!!! It is an unsecured card company. And they should be ashamed of themselves. I hope many many people see this review and take my review seriously.

    I have called multiple times all I get is there is nothing can do but wait when it’s a payroll check that I need badly it’s been over the time limit and everytime I call you all do nothing. As of right now don’t recommend this card at all. If this is going to be a thing every time you get paid and horrible people when you call and do nothing but hung up you because they are stealing your money. I just want my hard earned money I worked for.

    1,000 has been taken out of my account. I filed a dispute and speak to someone daily. Everyone tells me different things! The automated service is given out an email that advised me to send information and when sent the rep tells me there’s no such email. I am sick. 1,000 is a lot of money. They don’t care! I have since contacted a lawyer and he’s working on it. I will never ever ever recommend them!

    Direct deposit from my Federal Taxes was sent to Green Dot Bank in error. I tried various ways to reach out to them to see how we can handle this situation, however like the other reviews there is no way of getting a hold of anyone. It all through automatic system which you can't get through without a 16 digit account number. I have no choice but to think this is fraud and will not have to file a fraud complaint.

    Hi my name Sandy. I used Green Dot card only a few times a year basically getting a few things from eBay. And keeping track of my money is highly essential to me. As crazy that this may sound, I'm kind of funny about my money from the time I get it to the time I buy something. The only issued that I have with Green Dot is the fact after paying for my items that I had bought, they have the right to go in my account and take out addition funds as "maintenance" fee. The fee is 5.95 per month. That's fine. This month they took out 18.10 and addition to the purchases I made I figured I would a have 20 left over but no. I have at least 2.90 left. I had written to Green Dot on Twitter. They fund the 18.10. So far it says 2.90 on my account last time I check. I wondered how long does go into effect?

    I was given a $40 prepaid card as a gift card. Foolishly I gave them my SSN as it was 'required' to get the money put on the card. They then open up an account and charge you a monthly $7 fee immediately. So it's actually 33 dollar card with monthly fees until you cancel. But you can't cancel unless you talk to somebody. You can't cancel online. After several unreturned emails I had to make a chart of already used number sequences to get through the phone maze to finally talk to somebody. They said they will cancel but are unable to give me any form of confirmation whatsoever...so I guess I'm left with the gift of watching my credit to make sure they cancel until I'm certain they did.

    Been waiting on a card. Customer service just kept saying at the post office then give me a delivery date. Called for a week straight. Kept saying the same thing at post office then another date. Finally told me they sent it back. Said they would expedite it. Paid for that. Still won't receive it for 3 or 4 more days. Taxes have been on it for a week. So yes TurboTax card sucks just like their customer service. Don't use it.

    I filed with TurboTax last 2 years. I got a email from them saying my card was at the post office and on its way to my house Feb 26th so should have had it Feb 28th still not here 3/17/2019. Called Green Dot they said I had 2 cards. 1 from last year which is gone and the new one never received without the last 4 digits of card I never received. I cannot reach a live person but my federal return has been sitting with them for 2 weeks now. It is no surprise they have a 1 star rating with the BBB. Will never use TurboTax again because they are using Green Dot. I guess I will have to file complaint with IRS and Visa BBB so maybe I can get my federal return.

    I have a 4 year old son who has stage 3 stomach cancer. I had an emergency where I needed to borrow money from my mother in Colorado. She sent it via MoneyPak though Green Dot. I tried to load the MoneyPak on my card and it froze the funds. They told me the only thing I could do is request a refund. The really crappy part is my son needs his meds today and all they kept saying is, "I'm sorry." We paid for a service that they claim to provide and took my mom's money and is now holding money that my son needs.

    I have to wait two weeks for a refund. My son can't wait 2 weeks for his medicine. All they can say is sorry. I waited for 4 hours for a supervisor to never call me back. This company does not give a crap about anyone but money not even my son's life. I've only bought 3 MoneyPak cards from this company and this is the second time I've had problems with them keeping my money. It's a mistake on their end that my son and I are having to suffer for it's not right.

    I think it's awesome that Green Dot responds to good comments, but nothing is said about the negative ones. Truthfully I've always had a good experience with Green Dot till today. Don't want to go on about my story except to say I get direct deposit every Friday, it was sent at 4:00 am today but still hasn't posted. A little irritated, but like many other people can't get ahold of anyone???

    They do not accept any photos of documents that I sent (of excellent quality and complying with all their rules). I just have green card and passport, but looks like they just accept driver licences. They do not have a customer service where we can talk about the problem, just voice recordings. They do not give me the option of swapping the record for my husband's name and sending his documents. Now I have $400 I cannot use! I'm feeling stolen and I'm going to sue the company if they do not give me my money back!

    After at least 20 calls and at least 600 minutes of wasted time, I never receive a resolution to my problem. You are told to call back multiple times only to get the same response. And to not be able to update your own profile on the Moneypak website when dealing with money is the worst. No one seems to know what their error message mean. I purchased a Moneypak on 2/26/18 and today I finally requested a refund. Green Dot has yet to contact the seller CVS to advise a refund is okay. Now I have to be inconvenienced even more and wait for a check from this company. Total BS!

    I wanted to take advantage of the “Cash Back”. Instead I have these fools telling me I have to send my ID, and check stub from my employer AND that it would take 5 days to verify my documents once they were sent. This process should be a disclaimer whenever you sign up for an account, not a surprise when you need your money. Not sure who’s running the company, but I will be very wary before dealing with any “online” banks. When I tried to activate the card it said the 16 digits on the front did not match the 3 digit CVV on the back. I will stick with Capital One.

    I have had my account with Green Dot for several years and loved it so much, I purchased a second card for savings for our vacation. I won a lawsuit and had put the money on my main card and use this card for online purchasing as well as ALL my bills. A few days ago, both of my cards were suspended due to "suspicious activities". I will be able to use the money on both my cards but I can no longer make deposits. My balances have never been over $3,000.00 and my purchasing never exceeds $200.00. I am not understanding how this constitutes "unusual activities". I have recommended Green Dot to family and friends only to be treated this way by a company I once held a great respect for.

    They will steal your entire tax refund. These non English speaking emigrants are no help whatsoever. I don’t think they have any since at to do their job. This card/bank has charged me several times for the same transactions. And when I called it was like speaking to a wall! What they do is literally steal your money. I will never again in my life put my money in these people’s hands. It’s like they think it’s their money and not your! They need to be shut down! They are crooked! And fraudulent! I wish I had read these reviews before I put my income tax of over 5 thousand dollars in their bank account. It’s just stupid.     People, here is what you should do if you have problems with Green Dot. Complain to the manager or owner of the store you purchased it from. Tell them you will no longer buy from their store as long as they are carrying Green Dot cards. It seems the only way to put the hurt on Green Dot is to get stores to stop selling them. This should work because store managers will listen to loyal customers. It's too bad you may never see your money from Green Dot, but at least you can stop them from scamming someone else.

    It's clear from all these one-star reviews that Green Dot is a slimy company that will keep your money and lock you out of your card. This happened to me, I was not able to register my card online, the web site keeps telling me there was no record of the card. I have already received an email from Green Dot that shows it is in the system, but I can't log on to my account, I can't get a recovery password and I can't use the card now. I can't get any response from Green Dot - just their broken web site and their unhelpful automated phone system that blocks me at every turn. Please complain to the store that you bought the card from. If enough people do this it should shut down Green Dot or at least get them to fix their ways. Green Dot is a predatory company.

    My husband and I have had an account with Green Dot for almost two years without any issues. Last month our account was hacked with our rent money sitting in the account waiting to be processed. We immediately called Green Dot and were told that they would freeze the account and we would receive a new card in 3 business days. This was on 2/2/19. It is NOW MARCH 14TH, 2019 and we still do not have a new card, we still do not have access to our account, and the unauthorized charges on the account have still not been disputed with Green Dot.

    Each time we call we are told different information by different people who barely speak English. We were told our new card was mailed out on 2/5/19 by one agent and literally in the same day told that our new card was never mailed out and our account was never frozen by another agent. That agent advised us to go to the closest ATM and withdraw our money, then call right back and have the account frozen so that they could dispute the charges. And of course when we attempt to withdraw the money from the account it is denied and the receipts tells us to call our bank. These people can't get their stories straight but that's fine with me because I've just contacted the FDIC to report them and will do so each day until my new card FINALLY shows up and I am able to access the funds that have been sitting there for a month and A HALF. Don't waste your time with these people.

    BIG Issues at the core of the “bank” company they claim to be. Only time this would ever be acceptable is... When? If you want to get a scam from the “scam card company” because of its users they perceived to be in everybody. But the real scam is now at the core of the company. No way to register the card, no way to contact CS, no way this is not getting looked at in more seriousness than it is by federal levels of any government. Do not attempt EVER TO CONTACT GREEN DOT BECAUSE THEY WON'T Answer, oh and even if they do they will just hang the phone up after 1 hour wait time haha. Or maybe they will curse you out or laugh at you jokingly trying to get more of a reaction from you saying, "Well how could you be worried? I’ve got good care of your Moneybookers. Your account is just locked hehe." FBI.

    This company is holding my money hostage. I was stranded away from home having only my Green Dot card with my own money on it. I went to the vault to unstash money to be able to get home and they are not giving me access to my own money. I have tried customer service, cancelling the card asking for them to mail me a check, tried to talk to a manager which they said they don't have. I have asked to talk to tech support which they do not have a number for. I can't believe they can legally just keep my money like this.

    Account is blocked keeping my deposit from me, unable to buy food or pay bills. When I call to verify they got the last proof, they ask for more! Over a month ago in February 2019, I purchased a MoneyCard and put several hundred dollars on it randomly without issues. On March 6 2019, I had a direct deposit go on it, but it took until March 11 2019 to clear, but then the account was blocked without notification to me until I tried using it! When I called, they asked for an ID be sent to an email address which was the wrong one they gave me at first. Then that email box was full and couldn't go through, so I had to keep sending it which it went through, but when I call, they give many reasons why they can't do anything and I had that deposited because it's advertised I get it quicker, but I had to wait anyway to buy groceries and pay bills.

    When I call, it takes up to 2hrs at times for an answer, then I am given more things to prove about random things I can't get an explanation for. They ask for many ID verification things on each call, then they were calling me someone else's name last night. A supervisor had to be explained by me how to find my own email I sent then they said they had no way to communicate with another department right next to them to attach an email to my account so it could be unblocked which was said it would be done by the end of that day, but when I called, they asked for another proof of something. I have an elderly mother with a 10yr old, 5yr old and a 2yr old depending on me and this mess that is being requested should be asked at the beginning of opening an account. The reason it's not is because it would not keep customers, so they wait until the customer is established and have a lot put into it.

    IRS said my tax refund was deposited to my bank (Green Dot Card) on February 25, 2019. To date I have not received. There's is no way to talk to anyone at Green Dot.     I loaded 80 dollars on my card at Walgreens. It's been 2 weeks and money not showing up on available balance on the greendot.com site. I have not been able to use any of the funds loaded for the purpose of paying bills online. Which you are supposed to be able to do with the card. Have written them twice so far will have to get a different instrument to pay what I need to since greendot.com card not working right. I still have the receipt not sure if could get my money back at Walgreens. That may be an option.

It's Green Dot who scammed me cause there no way anyone else would know it was activated except someone internally. They refuse to give me my $300 back. Three on your side tried to resolve this but Green Dot won't even get back to either of us. They are thieves and they stole my $300. DO NOT BUY ANY MONEYPAKS CAUSE YOUR MONEY CAN BE STOLEN BY GREEN DOT THEMSELVES and there’s no way to talk to anybody except their horrible customer service.     I did my tax refund through TurboTax which sent me a prepaid card through Green Dot. Customer service got my address wrong. Sent my card elsewhere. I called to report the card lost or stolen. I was issued a replacement card which I got in the mail. To my mistake I assumed Green Dot would have canceled the lost or stolen card as I was patiently waiting for my funds to be deposited on the replacement card. I kept calling customer service and was checking my card balance on a regular basis only to find out the lost or stolen card had never Been canceled and as I was waiting, checking my balance on the replacement had only given the people however they where time to go on a shopping spree and spend all my money.

    I called Green Dot which sounded like I was talking to someone in India. Said they would launch a investigation which surprise got denied. I tried to ask for a manager several times. Was told I would get a callback which I never did. I have now launched a police investigation and contacted the I.R.S. And am looking to possibly seek legal action against Green Dot for gross negligent. Total garbage. They frauded me costing me $5k.

    Bought a $25 prepaid card at WalMart in Klamath Falls, OR for our granddaughter's birthday. At time of purchase I was told there was a $2 fee which was fine. Our granddaughter just spent well over an hour on the phone to "activate" the card. At that time she was advised she would have to open an account with their bank and there is a $7.95 per month "service fee". She was also required to provide her SSN to complete this transaction. We've purchased prepaid cards before and never, NEVER had to go through this goat-rope. Fees have ranged anywhere from $2 - $5 and that was it. We recommend avoiding Greendot.com at all cost (pun intended).

    Green Dot bank is the biggest fraud bank I've ever seen. I bought 2 300 dollar gift cards for my kids and before they spent a dime on them they were emptied. I called around 20 times to GREEN DOT BANK, the service provider and everyone else these crooks told me to and only got the runaround and they said we will not do anything to help you. I found out Green Dot is associated with TurboTax and immediately backed out and will just go pay 400 to do them at H&R. It's better than getting your account emptied because I used this terrible company.

    Emailed the company about closing the card and was told that once the money had been spent the card would be closed. 2 months later and I am still receiving monthly charges for the card.     So Feb 23, my tax preparer sent for a Green Dot card to come to me 7-11 days!! Them days have been passed period! I’m livid, distraught and pissed. Did I mention my taxes got accepted? I have all 3 bars with money on my card. I have no access to my money! Only thing Green Dot could offer is for another card being sent out! Now how the ** does that help? They are emailing me to activate my card also giving me my last 4 of my card number! This is the part I’m confused about!! If I have all of my info why can’t a supervisor give me access to my whole card number???? So I can transfer money to another bank account!???? I am not being helped. Poor help. So sad!!!!!

    IRS released my refund weeks ago. Green Dot mailed my card to the wrong address. They have given me nothing but the runaround. I have sent my driver's license and a bill as requested by them twice now. Still no card. I have called numerous times with no results. I have been hung up on.     I load my card. About 3 weeks I tried to pay bills with my cards. It kept declining. I called. Spoke with customer service. She then told me I needed a new card, so then I requested for a new and will have to update my address which I did. So I had to email my a copy of my lease, identification, 2 utilities bills. I did so I waited 2 days. No one called me. I call again, waited to speak to someone an hr. The lady hung up on me, after that 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and so on times I called they kept coming up with something else saying I needed to resend all the same documents. I was confused. Those people are rude and just don’t care... So now I have money on a card I cannot use. They seem to refuse to give me a new card. I don’t know what else to do, I’ll never use Green Dot again! Only option now is file a lawsuit to get my money.

    I CONTACTED CUSTOMER SERVICE 3 WEEKS PRIOR. ASK THEM IF I LOAD MONEY ON MY CARD (NOT PERSONALISED) WILL I BE ABLE TO USE IT. I was not able to use it. Ordered a new card a whole week and two days ago. I spoke with a specialist (supervisor) and she said they would expedite card if I sent my driver license and utility bill and case # to verifymydocs@greendot.Com (in all lower case). They said they never received and now the email is saying mailer daemon undeliverable??? I need my $6,000. I have to ** pay bills. I've contacted everyone. Please help!!! Very dissatisfied customer.     I have reported my experience to the FDIC for intervention and recommend that all sharing it, especially a few Commenters who seem to have resigned themselves to absorbing the loss, do the same: Last Monday I bought a prepaid Green Dot card for use as a gift card. After successfully registering it I learned at an ATM that this is not the same as activation. Several online activations have failed, always with a reference to "unrecognized data." So my beneficiary can't buy groceries but I owe their CEO a steak a month until the funds run out. And then what? This is the most egregious example of disguised predatory lending since the Variable Rate Mortgage. Fortunately my loss is small and I have other resources... Enough to go to bat for other plaintiffs in my neck of the woods. I have seen in earlier Comments that the company is based in California and the Better Business Bureau has been contacted. Add me to that list.

Took me almost an hour to get a hold of a human being and when I finally did He tells me THEY HAVEN'T RECEIVED MY RETURN YET! One of them is lying and surprisingly I'm certain it's not the IRS. This is a crap company ran by shameless corporate bots. Thank you Green Dot for making me late on bill payments. As soon as that money does come in, my account will be closing.

    Green Dot Prepaid Card is a ripoff. I never Received an email or anything from them stating my card was suspended. I called them and sat on hold all day yesterday. No one answered. I called again this morning. Finally got through to them in the afternoon and the guy on the other end told me I had to send mine and my husband ID to them and then the card would be unsuspended. How can you suspended a card and not inform the customer that it is happening. Then the guy ends up hanging up on me and then I try to go in and get into my online account and it has been blocked now. They don't care. I told them I have had my tax return since Wed and still can't get to it. I have to pay bills and my electric before it gets shut off tomorrow but they don't care cuz it isn't their money. I wouldn't trust them with your money at all. Might not ever get it back.

    I received a prepaid Green Dot card as gift. My relative who purchased was elderly and thought the Green Dot prepaid card was a gift card. Ok. No biggie. I used funds that were loaded on the card and paid the hefty transaction fees. Then tried to close account. Called several customer service numbers (including their corporate office) and CANNOT get thru to either a live person OR instructions on how to close account via their automated system. Email customer assistance every 3 days for past 2 weeks - NO RESPONSE. Here is the catch. If you can't close card they will keep charging my card a monthly "service" fee. Even if you do not have money or are using card they will charge you service fees. Slimy business. They trick you into setting up card and then play unreachable and dumb. Please stay away from Green Dot Corporation. Do the research online. A lot of lawsuits going on recently.

    I filed my taxes with TaxSlayer and had my refund put on the Green Dot prepaid card because I wanted to get a $500 refund loan. Unless you live in San Francisco, there is nowhere to get your money or deposit your money from this card without being charged fees. You can get cash back at Walmart. That's it. This card didn't work at fuel pumps. If there is over 30 days from the time of the loan and the time the refund is put on your card there will be an almost $8 service fee. This card is not worth the hassle.

    I purchased 2 Moneypak cards from Walgreens $500.00 dollars on each on to be able to pay my tickets to get my driver licenses back. I waited till the next morning to load fund to my Green Dot card and it prompted me to upload a ID. I did and it sent me a email like 12 hours later that my ID was denied so I tried again and used my mom's driving license and now it has card lock and I cant get my money now. I talked to Green Dot and they told me to keep trying and I did and it wont work then I called back last night and asked for a supervisor and they said it would be within 24 hours. Still nothing. The lady told me to make another Moneypak account in a family members name so I did and they have flagged me for suspicious activity like really all I want is my money. Someone please help me.

    On 3/6/19 at 5:37p I spoke with a CSS in reference to a closed account and my FSA account. I have been a customer with Green Dot Bank for approx 10 years. 18 months or so ago, my account was compromised so my account/card was closed and a new one issued. At that time I was working at a company that is no longer in business due to losing business contract at the first of the year. The phone number to the closed account is the number from my previous job which I am unable to get as the company does not exist. My FSA lender released $150 on 2/15/19 to my closed account as this account was the one tied to my FSA card. Since I no longer work for the company, the information on the FSA account was not updated.

    My FSA lender has not received the funds back from their release. When I contacted CSS, I verified all of my information on two accounts I have there which is the same as the information on my closed account with the exception of the phone number. Since I was not able to verify the phone number on the closed account, I was told I was not allowed to speak to a supervisor or have any additional assistance because I could not verify the phone number. I explained I was not able to obtain the phone number as it was a cell number that was used at my previous job and the CSS told me that didn't matter. She hung up on me. So they are keeping $150 of mine from FSA account and will not speak to me about how to reconcile this.

    There is no other number to contact to try to resolve this matter as you must go through CSS and they will not do anything since I can't give them a phone despite having all of my other identifying information. I have the last four on the closed account as this information is listed on my FSA website account portal in addition to the current account information. I do not, however, have the card number of the closed account as those cards were shredded when the account was closed. I have filed a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

    I ordered this card thinking it would’ve been convenient for my taxes to be loaded. I was on hold for over 30 minutes when I finally got someone who was of no help. My card has never made it to my home and there’s no tracking number to see where the card is. Whenever I went on the app (I was continuously prompt to set up account via email) it says that it’s at the post office waiting to be sent. The customer service representative informs me that I was supposed to get a temp card (which I never got) almost a month ago. And then tells me that I have to wait an additional 7 business days for a card to be sent out via mail.

    I expressed to her the inconvenience this has been since I never got any card, there’s no way of tracking it and my bills are past due. She had the nerve to offer me a 3 business day shipment on my expense. There’s no banking location to retrieve my funds and I cannot send money in this account to another account to have access to MY MONEY!!! I will never invest my time or trust my money with this company again. I should’ve read all of the horrible reviews before I made a hasty decision. I advise anyone considering this card to consider other options. This experience has been nothing more than an extreme unprofessional nightmare!!!

    Card works as advertised but read the fine print but it's virtually impossible to close the account with $0 balance and you are not allowed to close account with negative balance. The only way to get a negative balance is when the $7.95 monthly fee hits. Customer service is useless - after 5 minutes trying to speak to a representative, I got a message that said "no one is available at this time, please try back later. Goodbye" LOL. I did a mobile deposit of $7.95 to clear the negative balance so I could close the account but it took one week to clear, so another $7.95 fee was applied. I used the website contact tool but no one replied. You are way better off using some other payment solution, like Venmo, PayPal, etc. If you are not tech savvy, talk with someone who is before you buy a Green Dot. My advice - DO NOT get started with Green Dot... You will be sorry you did.

    I have been attempting to update my address for almost a month because my card expired and I have moved since getting the card. I have called over 10 times and still no card with money sitting in the account. I have been set up with 2 different case numbers. Each time I call it’s something else. They asked for a copy of my Driver's License (which I didn’t feel comfortable sending) and a copy of my utility bill. I sent both them. After waiting a week I was advise that they need to see all 4 corners of the utility bill. That was sent and still my address has yet to be updated! I called today and my address still has not been updated. This company is a hoax! I would not recommend this company to anyone.

    While it appears many complain about recent tax refunds failing, my gripe is on the very foundation of this service. I'll not support Green Dot by month's end so here is a something to future customers to consider. The login process is pathetic and broken. Credentials is name and password. Suppose to be anyway. I have to then do additional verification. Green Dot sends a code to either phone or email. I choose email. I hate this moron's idea of tiered login. The email code can take a few minutes to never. Need not explain how idiotic such a process is. Then when entering the code, half the attempts are not accepted. And yes, you guessed it right, the entire login effort starts over again.

    The login says it will remember this device but never does. Same for if by phone or by PC. Worse, I am required to complete a captcha verification. Captcha is a terrible process and ought to be removed from history. Of all the many websites financial or not, I do not have a horrible time accessing my accounts as I do every time accessing Green Dot.

    Absolutely the worst card I have ever tried to use. After putting money on it and registering the card 3 weeks ago, I have yet to be able to use the card to make a purchase. Trying to get a hold of an actual person to resolve the issue, whatever it may be, is impossible. Now the monthly fees are coming out, and again, I have yet to be able to use the card for anything. (Every single store has refused it although the account shows the cash and the card shows registered). Unbelievable, I will never use this card again. I guess I'm supposed to just eat the monthly fees until all of the money that I put on it is used up? THANKS FOR NOTHING GREEN DOT~! Do not purchase this card unless you have money to just give them for free...

    I chose to have my tax refund deposited onto the Turbo Prepaid Card. WORST DECISION OF MY LIFE! They are supposed to use the information from your tax return to obtain your name, address, etc. Somehow they sent my card to the wrong address, every attempt I've made to update my address has been unsuccessful. Every attempt I've made to contact customer service has been horrible. They've given me multiple wrong email addresses to send in pictures of my driver's license and documents to verify my address. Every time I do so they say to call us back in 2 business days. It's like they're just giving me little bites to hold me off for a few days so they can keep my money. I just want to transfer my money out of this account and then close it. The only reason I signed up for the card was because I was preapproved for a $1000 advance from my tax return but of course I never got that either.

    I decided to get my taxes deposited onto a Green Dot card and it was the worst mistake I could have made for me and my family. We have been waiting since before Valentine's day for this card to come in the mail and nothing. I have been calling them every day to try and get ahold of someone and have been put on hold for hours and hours with no such luck of getting ahold of anyone. I have a one year old baby and a new baby on the way and we desperately need this money for beds for the baby, phone bills and getting them into a home and right now my husband’s boss is having a really bad money crisis this year and we got stuck with nowhere to live. So it's been prob the worst decision I ever made.

    I finally got ahold of someone today and they are telling me that there is a block on our account so now I have to send them in my ID before I can even get a replacement card sent. Times have been hard this year and this tax refund was the only thing we had to look forward to getting onto our feet and everyone is already struggling enough as it is.     Bought several Green Dot pre-paid VISA cards for foreign travel. Cards didn't work out of country even though they claim to work anywhere VISA is accepted. Customer service is impossible. No way to speak with a person. No way to remedy the problems. So I waited until I returned and tried to use the cards in the US. Some worked, others won't. RECOMMEND NO ONE PURCHASE THESE CARDS - THEY ARE A SCAM.

    I have been trying to reach this company about my tax refund for days. They want my card number which I do not have due to not receiving a card. You can never speak to a person on the phone due to not having the card number. Need to fix the system to not including a card number people do not have. Would not recommend people to use Green Dot prepaid cards for a tax return because you can't get your money that they have had for days.

    I have attempted to contact a live person at Green Dot for 3 days. I have been trying to close my account with you and been unable to speak with a real live person regardless of my attempts or what hour of the day. I follow the prompts and after selecting 5 then 6 the recording tells me goodbye and hangs up. I have also sent messages to the support contact information and have not received a reply.     This company is a FRAUD!! The IRS deposited the money a week ago and every time I call Green Dot they say it’s not there. When I ask for a supervisor they say “not available, I can offer for you to call back”. WTH is that? I believe they play with our money and this is fraud.

    Bought and loaded prepaid card with $250 odd. I used the card in an ATM casino on Feb 16th. The ATM did not dispense the money but debited 200 odd in my account. Called Green Dot support, who said temp cards cannot be used in ATMs and the money will be credited back within 7 days. Called them on 23rd, the agent asked to file a dispute. After a week got a message that the dispute was declined and upon speaking with customer support was told that a Manager from Green Dot will call in 24 hours to resolve. No call yet. Extremely bad experience. Will not recommend anyone to buy Green Dot prepaid cards. I am now planning to report it to BBB and other forums.

    The IRS sent my refund on February 28 to my account on my Green Dot Debit Cash Back Visa card. I have not receive my money yet. They have answering machine answering questions. Customer service is not talking to nobody since the taxes was release on February 27. I believe it’s wrong to hold people money and it’s not theirs. I regret letting my check from work get deposited to their card. I wish I had some help but I don’t. I very disappointed.

    I was given a Green Dot prepaid card as a gift. Shortly after activating the card, Green Dot charged a $7.95 "service fee" on a $50 gift card. I was unable to get in touch with them about resolving this. The only way to contact them is to call, and no matter which menu you go through it just hangs up on you eventually. I tried many times. Ok whatever, I just want to close the account and never hear from them again. Oh oops, no way to do that either since the website directs you to call them to close the account. Horrible company. Do not use them, do not sign up for their cards. They have all your personal information and you will have no way to close the account in the future. I cannot explain how frustrated I am. Never NEVER NEVER use Green Dot for anything.

    I was gifted a card for Christmas, and upon signing up I got a weird feeling to begin with due to them requiring a ton of information including my SSN. After using the amount gifted to me, I would call but the customer assistance line that they provide would only give me an automated line. Despite trying to choose each and every option, I could not get a hold of an associate. When I would be "transferred" to a specialist, I would get a recording telling me to use the website. However, when trying to use the website link to "Close my account", I get redirected to a page telling me to call. I do not appreciate this run-around at all. I want this account closed immediately, and this company is not letting me do this.

    I've had my Green Dot card for almost a year. I decided to deposit my tax refund instead of waiting for a paper check. BIG MISTAKE! I file joint with my husband who also has a verified GD card. They rejected our taxes because the info didn't match the card. It was my info as well! Never again!     I have been using Green Dot, with direct deposit from my employer, for approximately 5 months now. I have been using their reload service for years now. Aside from all the fees I have never had many complains until recently. My card was stolen at the beginning of February, which apparently locks the entire account from use when you order a new one. I have no been waiting an entire month on a replacement debit card. The first one ordered I patiently waited out the 10 day period it says it takes, only to discover once I called the replacement card had never been ordered.

    At that point, I ordered another card. (Paying the $4.95 fee twice at this point because I ordered another replacement card. I am in the middle of moving. I have not even been able to get my water cut on. I take care of my grandmother and newborn child. DHR can be called because I haven't been able to access any of my funds from my account. Over $2000.00 just sitting in an account that I can't touch. Yet they can pull the fees for the account as well as for the replacement cards. My bills cannot get paid if I cannot access my funds. At this point I have been waiting a month on a replacement card (which I have now ordered and paid for twice).

    At this point when calling customer service it won't even connect me to a Representative. It simply tells me that my card should be here by now. Considering it's now March 2, and the delivery date for my card was February 27th I would imagine it should be. After the recording informs me my card should be here, it then proceeds to tell me "not to forget to activate my card" which I CANNOT DO CONSIDERING THERE IS NO CARD TO ACTIVATE! After that final message it tells me to wait to be transferred only to immediately end the call. So at this point it won't even allow me to speak to a representative to figure out the issue with the recent card I just ordered. This is ridiculous and I am beginning to think this is a scam.

They told something different every day... just to get the phone call over with. They make it up as they go along. 3 different problems on 3 different occasions which took over a week to resolve.     Unable to load card using MoneyPak. On 2/26/2019 I purchased a MoneyPak in the amount of $480.00 from CVS Pharmacy Store# 7555 in Raleigh, NC at 8:11 pm. I attempted to load my prepaid card using pin# On card and was asked to upload my ID for identity verification, which I did and per the message on that page I would be contacted via email in 30 minutes to complete the load again. I never received a response, I completed the help form on the website and received an automated email with this case# ** that stated I will receive a response in 1 business day, that was on 2/27/19 and I still have not received a response.

    I have also sent a private message via Facebook to Green Dot's support page and still no response. I even tried loading the funds again at Moneypak.com and I get a load failed error each time. I need my money loaded to my card. This issue has caused bill payment to be declined and it is completely unacceptable. I have also tried contacting the company by phone but their automated hangs up on me before transferring to a live person.

    They have been holding my mother in law's social security payments hostage for two months. First they ran her in circles trying to get information about the card that was only on the (lost) card. They will not send a new card to the proper address, and demanded that my husband send his own electric bill as proof of her new address. That was weeks ago and still nothing. Our next step will be the Attorney General. I would not recommend to anyone.

    I, my husband and my son each received a $300 prepaid card as gifts. I used ATM to get the balances in cash. Now there's no way to cancel the cards and avoid further monthly fees. No way online and no automated phone option to cancel the cards. I've spent 3 days, over 90 minutes on multiple phone calls. Still haven't gotten a live person who can help me. Even the online 'Contact Us' option has technical problems and doesn't send my written request for help. Site is also having issues, constantly requiring me to log back in. Today I have a negative balance because I was charged the monthly balance on the first of the cards I activated. This is a scam. SHAME!!!

    My name is Nina **. My boyfriend Ladonte ** is also on my account. Last four of card is **. He received tax return yesterday morning and school funds this morning. I paid for my daughter cake deposit last night with card. Woke up this morning and could not log in Mobile app. It said account blocked for review. I then lived in on computer gained access but could not do anything. I moved $986 to vault last note and computer access said I couldn’t access vault and funds would go back to card but hasn’t. My card will not work. It shows restricted.

    I called and was on hold 3 hrs no answer hung up and called back and on hold 40 minutes tried calling back and it says status haven’t changed that I needed to send requested documents. What documents I never spoke with anyone and never received no email. My daughter has to have a $2500 shot for her asthma. If my daughter gets sick because she can’t get shot tomorrow I’m calling my attorney. We also don’t have access to money to feed our kids. I need this resolved now so I can remove our money and switch banks. I emailed our state ID hoping it may be what they would request. Please fix this **. Last four of my social is ** and his is **. Here's our State ID. I don’t want to hear the lie if we tried calling you. I want my money.

    Very disappointed with the support line. I have two transactions that were returned to my card after being rejected by the merchant for not accepting the Green Dot card. The money has not been returned to my card and I cannot get a response from Green Dot on the status of the dispute. Automated line will not put me through to a (Live) person. No other way to contact Green Dot other than a letter and then wait over two weeks for a response. Will be cancelling this card once I finally get my money back.

    My account has been locked down by Green Dot since June 29th 2018, or roughly EIGHT MONTHS. I got notification via email that my card would be "temporarily" turned off due to "unusual activity"... The seemingly simple process to unlock my $7,000+ account is to follow a link and upload a photo of my I.D... which is impossible due to the site not functioning properly after the prompt for your card number is filled out. For the last 8 months I have endlessly attempted to contact Green Dot via phone and email with zero success. My online account STILL prompts me to follow the link to provide ID, but way to do so successfully, and no customer support for months on end. I see that Green Dot actually responds to people here so hopefully someone can actually do the right thing and release the absurd 8 month lock on my funds (which I'm certain is quite illegal).

    I’ve been using Green Dot for a while and I have multiple cards. I recently was able to swipe my temporary card and load money into the account but I wasn’t able to make purchases with the card. I called Green Dot and spoke with two people about the card and they told me the card was no longer active. I do not remember my user name and password to my account so I have no way of accessing my money. Now when I call customer support I can’t speak with a live person. Makes me think they put my phone number on a block call list. I believe this is not fair and my card should be activated so I can get my money off or I’m refunding my money. But now that they won’t answer I can’t even ask. I really would like something done about this.

    I gave it one star because the system would not let me file a complaint without issuing one star. Should be a minus 5 stars. Green Dot should be investigated by the Attorney General of the United States. How it has continued to operate with the enormous amounts of consumer complaints is beyond me. This company has held over 4k dollars from me and has lied every step of the way. This afternoon I notified my attorney to proceed with legal action against Green Dot.

    What is even more disturbing and has been noted several times on the other complaints is that if you have called several times to complain, they will block your number and the system will hang up on you. Green Dot needs to be put out of business. I will notify my Congresswoman today to investigate and take action. These practices by a bank are appalling.

    This has been a stressful, horrible experience. When I did my taxes with TurboTax I opted to receive refund on Turbo card. However it has been over 20 some days refund was already processed and sent. I have not received a card. I spoke with multiple agents and then to supervisor. My card was supposed to arrive before or today. Still no card. So I question since I have no card What is my refund on? I tried to call and so happen I cannot speak to a live person because someone has put me on their do not answer service, when I input my information. I cannot help but to wonder what type of financial institute goes about business this way. I have opted to contact the IRS and the FDIC. I will go on every type of blog or reviews and share this. This seems like a fraud company so far in my eyes.

    Was tricked into getting the card. While completing my taxes I was given the chance to apply for a RAL Loan. They said I was approved for $500. In order to get the $500 you had to use their prepaid card for my refund. I agreed. Before I received the card I got an email stating I didn't qualify for the RAL. I was tricked into getting that card. I have multiple accounts with banks and Rushcard (who I trust).

    Now my tax refund has been released to them two days ago and I still don't have my money. When they finally decide to release my money to me it's going to cost a minimum of $35 for me to withdrawal my money. Being a single mom of 3 living paycheck to paycheck I really don't have time for this. In short TurboTax is great, I've been using them for years. Turbo Prepaid by Green Dot is a scam and waste of time and money. If I could give negative stars I would. PS I've been trying to reach a live person for two days with no luck. I would select the option to speak to a representative. After 30 seconds the system says "Good Bye," then hangs up.

    I filed my taxes with TurboTax and chose to have my refund sent to me on a debit card. I request a new one every year. Previous years I have been sent a Money Network pay card but this year they issued me a Green Dot card. I ordered it when I filed my taxes on January 11th and since then have received multiple (8 to be exact) emails stating that my card was on its way. As of today's date 2-27-2019, I still have not received a card. I have made numerous phone calls attempting to speak with a customer service representative and I am unsuccessful each time. It is asking me to input the last 4 digits of my card number, but how can I input those digits when I have yet to receive a card. I am beginning to get extremely frustrated, I just want to talk to someone so we can figure out what is going on.

    The customer service is horrible. They do not help you in any way. They won't even transfer your calls so that you are able to get the help you need. Also the automatic system told me before the call I would do a brief survey after the call but when the agent hung up I was not directed to do a survey so I'm pretty sure it was because he not not help resolve my issue which was trying to get the new card sent in the mail.

    I have had Green Dot for several years now. Minor issues, until now. Can't use my card, right after I received my refund check on 2/26. Now I can't get anyone on the phone to explain to me why MY money isn't working. They have a poor excuse for everything and can barely get someone on the phone that speaks proper English. I am making the same complaint with the BBB and the Attorney General. I have also gotten over 4,000 signatures to get this class action lawsuit rolling. Enough is enough. Holding someone's money and giving them false information is a horrible way to do business. Let's see how they respond to the Attorney General.

    My sleazy tax preparer website TaxSlayer said that if I signed-up for the pre-paid Green Dot Visa that I could get access to $1000 of my tax refund within 24 hours. The interface between Green Dot and TaxSlayer FAILED- no $1000 advance-and I ended-up being STUCK with this EVIL Green Dot account- where my $3800 Tax Refund now sits, but I don’t have a card so that I can access the funds. (I was promised the card within 5-10 business days. I eFiled on 11 Feb 19, that was 13 business days ago- but I hear it gets worse for others).

    I’ve received TWO emails from Green Dot. One on 16 Feb 19 and one on 23 Feb 19 saying that my personalized card was at “MY LOCAL POST OFFICE” and would be delivered in two days. Funny how BOTH emails were wrong. I called yesterday to see if they could help me access the funds without the the card. There isn’t any way to help me. The local post office says that they have no records of a card coming to me. Now, when I call their 1-866 number, they won’t pick-up the phone. I’ve sat “waiting” for over two hours, and eventually the line just goes dead. (They carefully screen their calls- if you’ve called before, forget about getting through again). Green Dot- may you and your corporate leadership get what you deserve. -MN. This company has a large amount of my money- MY money- which I need very badly to buy medication for my wife. She’s suffering with level 9 and 10 pain and has been for two days. THANKS Green Dot.

    I've been using my Walmart MoneyCard from Green Dot for approximately a year regularly. I receive my direct deposits from work as well as those of my fiance on a bi-weekly basis. Prior to filing our taxes this year, I called to make sure that we could have his tax return deposited to my card. I was told that I needed to add him to the account which I did and we received his tax refund yesterday with no problem.

    This morning, I paid a few bills, as people usually do when they receive a tax return and spent somewhere in the area of $600. Within 30 minutes, I got an email saying that due to unusual activity, I needed to verify my identity. So, as requested, I sent a copy of government issued ID and tried to call to confirm that it was received and got a message that my account has been closed and cannot be reopened! I have no idea what is going on, I am in a dire financial situation and they have basically stolen over $5000 from me for no reason at all! I don't know what to do because when I try to speak to a person, I am told my account is closed and immediately hung up on.

    I opened a case with the FDIC just now and can only pray that they are able to get this taken care of immediately. I would definitely advise to avoid any relationship with this company. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had and it completely devastating. I promised my children I'd take them on a mini-vacation this weekend because they've been doing SO well academically and now I don't even know if I'll have enough to afford groceries until my next paycheck. This is shameful that a business could treat its customers this way.

    I have contacted Green Dot Numerous of times and waited on hold for hours at a time and get no response and the phone hangs up. This is what you call unprofessional scam artists that just steal your money. I am beyond Furious. I bought two MoneyPaks and loaded each of them for $500 and they will not let me load. And I will not sit there and wait two weeks for a refund. I want my money back or load it to my cards immediately so I can withdraw my money back. It's funny how how customer service will not answer your call. At all once you make a complaint.

    Unfortunately my bank account was closed a week before I filed my taxes due to hard times and I had to get a prepaid debit card from TurboTax Intuit. Let me tell you it’s the worst!!! I tried taking money off and it wouldn’t let me. I was only able to take off 1500 and swipe 1500. Every day I tried to take money off. It just kept saying exceeded daily limit! I’m having a baby in 3 weeks and have no car! Was planning on buying a car with my taxes and I can’t even do that. I can’t even get to my weekly appointments dealing with a debit card with terrible limits. One website says 3k a day and 3k at a teller. Then the other says 3k a month!!! Everything about the cardholders agreements are contradicted.

    I've called customer service and I was on hold for 40 minutes. When I got through I couldn’t understand the lady and I tried asking about limits and what I could do. And she asked for my social and addressed and sent me to a recording telling me the balance and it just hung up afterwards. And I kept trying to call back to actually talk to someone! This card is making my life hell and stressful at the time. It’s sad. Just wanted a quick convenient way to have money instead of cashing a check carrying cash on me and now I can’t even access my own money for a while month!!! Shame on this company!

    OMFG, What a nightmare. #0 minute hold times. No way to get help in a critical emergency like this. I had an older account and set up a direct deposit with my employer to the closed account. I realized the error and corrected it with my employer but now Green Dot won't send the money back to my employer so I can get it. Now I have no money for food or fuel or shelter because my employer won't redeposit without it being returned to them for redeposit. Incredibly difficult phone menu navigation to even have the option to talk to a specialist. When you do finally get the right button option minimum of 30 minute wait no matter what time of day you call. I have been on hold already 20 minutes while I write this review of this HORRIBLE customer experience. Do not use this card or service or business if you don't want to have a huge problem...with no recourse, no concern, no urgency, no service.

    Don't Buy Green Dot MoneyPak. This prepaid money service offered at 711 is a total scam. You purchase the card which is a escrow account to move the money onto their cards. It never worked and they charge you a fee for every month the money is not moved. You can't call anyone and they operate with corporations inside corporation (shell game). You have to mail them a letter to complain yet they don't really say who to mail it to. You will never get a person on the phone. Big SCAM. Stay away.

    I got a card from Green.com for online business purposes. When I no longer had use for the card I found it nearly impossible to cancel the card on their website. I'm currently waiting for customer service assistance on my phone and have been waiting for assistance for at least 20 minutes. My card also has a negative balance so they do not keep tabs on the money you've added to your card and allow over charges to take place. I do not recommend this card to anyone at all. Just buy a prepaid card at Walmart. It will save you a lot of costs and difficulties.

    I decided to get a Green Dot card to get my tax refund deposited on. It was the worst thing I could do. I was short $2500. I called the IRS just to confirm that no offsets was completed. They stated I had none. I tried calling Green Dot to speak with someone. Wishful thinking. It was no possible way to get to a representative. It even asked me was I calling for the same issue which I hadn’t even called in about. Then when I dialed from a different number someone answered and hung up on me. And I could never get back through again. Don’t ever use Green Dot. They are terrible.

    I have been a Green Dot customer for quite some time now and to be honest I haven’t had any issues until recently. On February 24, 2019 I wanted to get cash back from my Green Dot rewards card with no success. I tried purchasing $10 worth of gas in order to get $30 of cash back from my neighborhood gas station Circle K. After swiping the card to my surprise there was an declined message prompt. After trying a second time the card was approved but the clerk said there was a problem and that it didn’t go through on his end. I ended up going through my Green Dot app to find out what the problem was clear as day it said $40 was taken from my account!

    I called customer service. I was told the work order will be filled out and someone would get back to me before the end of the day. 6 to 7 hours went by with no avail so I called back and asked to speak to a supervisor then I was told that it would take 24 hours for a response from a supervisor. It’s February 25, 2019, 9:52 PM Pacific time, I still haven’t received an email nor call. I tried calling back around 8 o’clock only to find out that if you call multiple times in a day there’s a automated system that makes it twice as hard to speak with an agent. Really not sure what to do next?? FYI I have all sorts of notifications that would normally remind me of when my balance is low as well as what was just spent, nothing of the sort happened and this was a first. I ruled the clerk out because a receipt didn’t print out as usual. Not to mention I have formed a rapport within this location. Very disheartening.

    This card charges 1.95 for initial load. Then, the person that receives the card gets charged 7.95 the first time they use the card. And 7.95 a month every month after that. Trying to cancel the account is nearly impossible. Total scam. Stay away at all costs.

    Here my problem I tried to withdraw money from ATM and it says invalid pin. I never changed my PIN therefore why is it say invalid pin so I called him. They tell me to change my PIN. I did it still didn't work. They don't know what's going on. They said they would transfer it to their tech department he call back in 24 hours. It's been past 24 hours they never called so I called back then the guy told me to reset it again and then once I do that I can go pull money off and he's sorry for the inconvenience. I did so still can't get money off my card. It still saying invalid pin so I asked him if it did it what do I do. He said call him back. I called back then they put me on some Automated machine that says you've recently called several times about this card and won't give me any Live customer service. I am furious and I really would like some help on what to do. I really need my money.

    Card mysteriously stopped working at ATM. Literally no access to funds. Was told to change my PIN. Still didn't work. Was disregarded and told the exact same thing the following day. Finally on Saturday they believed me enough to refer me to the technical team. I was told I would be contacted in 24 hours and it's going on 48 hours.

    Today is Monday and I first contacted Green Dot on last Thursday. I never changed my PIN so I'm not sure why it was declined at the ATM. That couldn't be explained to me. Never offered to issue a new card. When you call back they realize you've previously called and will not pick up. I have been on hold for two hours TWICE with no one ever picking up. The best correspondence I've received is from their Twitter account. Pathetic. If anyone knows any legal action I can take, please help. I'm currently facing eviction because of this. This company is fraudulent. Mind you I have been using Green Dot for my direct deposit for years.

    I lost my card Feb 3, 2019. I called the same day to report it lost. They said a new one would be sent out immediately and would come in 5-10 business days. Now my whole paycheck ($1000) has been deposited on the card which is still not here! I have bills and children to feed. How could a company let something like this happen is beyond me.     They are the biggest RIPoff I've ever seen! I used this card after purchasing it at Christmas time to shop online. They took $9.95 after the first use. Afterward I had a balance of $3.59. Then I didnt use this card again until February! I deposited $20.00. I went to get baby formula and said it was declined. I checked the balance and it said I was negative due to the $9.95 per month charge, and that I owed them money!!! How can they take money for not using this card? So if I had used it again in December, they can take $9.95 a month for a card not being used? It's prepaid!!! I'm unable to get access to my money and this is a huge inconvenience for me and my family.     I recently purchased a card to have my employment checks direct deposit. Once I received the card in the mail I was unable to register it. I would hate for my refund to be deposited into an account that I can’t get access of. Every time I call the automated voice service just hangs up after I enter my card number. This isn’t right, I have surely learned my lesson. I will put this experience all across my social sites, nobody deserves this.

    Green Dot advertisement states that you get paid up to 2 days faster, that is a lie. They received my deposit yesterday and have not deposited it into my account. I called customer service and their automated message says that they deposit funds as soon as they are available and the customer service representative has no information on the deposit. Therefore, Green Dot is deceptive and for no reason will hold your money. I will not recommend this prepaid card to anyone.

    I normally refill my Green Dot card at Walmart, and have never had any issues. I decided to purchase a MoneyPak this time, and that was a huge mistake. I have a secured account with MoneyPak. They have my social security number, phone number, email, address, date of birth etc. I've used Green Dot for 3+ years. The business verified that the $434.00 was loaded. I paid $5.95 for it.

    There was some type of hiccup with MoneyPak when I tried loading it to my card, and they directed me to request a refund. That option wasn't viable for me because I was using that to pay my bills that were due that week. I tried finding a customer service number which wasn't easy. You could NOT get an actual human. Every number I hit just directed me to their help webpage that didn't even cover my experience.

    I finally contacted my Green Dot customer service. The manager verified that yes, the MoneyPak did have $434.00 loaded to it, but because there was a hiccup when I tried loading it to my Green Dot card all that could be done was the refund. Their refund is a paper check that takes 1 to 2 weeks to reach you via mail. They will not refund you the cost of purchasing the MoneyPak either. So I'll be eating the $5.95 fee, plus the late fees for my bills that were to be covered by the money they have of mine, and then whatever fee it will cost to find someone to cash their paper check they send me.

    All of that for their mess up? No thanks. Upon research, it appears that a lot of people have had issues with MoneyPak and I'm not just referring to the scams. They are not a part of the BBB and they aren't a member of FDIC. There is no insurance for your money that they handle. Wow, that is sad considering Green Dot is highly advertised and particularly to the middle/lower class where every penny counts.

    You would think MoneyPak could at least outsource their customer service so an actual human could assist them with the amount of people using it. It is so sad that their only resolution is a paper check in 1-2 weeks for a customer that is verified with a MoneyPak that is verified to a card that's been in use for a while because of their mess up. YMMV, but from now on I will only reload with Walmart and NEVER use MoneyPak again. I don't see how MoneyPak is even a business after the amount of issues that are occurring with it. Angry doesn't even begin to cover it.

    A few months my girlfriend got a Green Dot card and we had no issues when she decided to cancel her card. When I bought my card about a week ago, I decided that I'd rather not use it and went to close my card. I cannot log in on the app and whenever I try to access the "Close Card" from the Security page it just takes me to the Contact Us page. Everything I've looked up says to either do it through the Close card or call a phone number. The number doesn't even give you an option to close your card. There's only a little bit of money on the card, I'd still like it to be closed. I regret not looking at the reviews first and might possibly even get a lawyer.

    I been using Green Dot for 5 years. Never had a problem till 2 days ago when I used my debit and saying invalid pin can only be used as credit. I called twice and talked to someone but no luck saying cant give me further information cause I don't remember the phone number or email that I used 5 years ago. I'm so aggravated. Can't pay my bills because of this problem. I was able to use my debit card a few days ago. I can't even use ATM since it ask for pin. I put my pin in and says invalid pin and it's the same pin I had for 5 years. What's the problem.

    Last night, my husband went to buy a MoneyPak totaling $400 so we could pay our bills. When he was at the register they asked for his identification card, which hasn't ever been required before. He gets home and I hop onto my MoneyPak account where our card is attached to for easy upload of funds. Since that card is in both of our names and he showed his ID at the register, when I was prompted to upload an ID we put his in since that's what was showed at the register. Yeah well, we got a denial email. So I get on the phone with Green Dot who tells me there is NOTHING that they can do and that MoneyPak is merely a partner company. Well they should probably rethink that partnership. What completely baffles me is if we loaded money onto a MoneyPak to be loaded on our Green Dot card and it wasn't loaded, where is our money?

    We cannot return it to a store. We will only be refunded the $400 and not the activation fee. One of our utilities is now off because of this and have $35 late fee because of this. Oh and the refund takes 1-2 weeks. I've been using Green Dot for 5 or more years now with not one issue. And now this? I am going with a different service now. When this is all said and done, that $400 plus a fee we paid so we could cover our bills will end up costing us $500+. So just be forewarned y'all. Even IF you have provided truthful information and identification to them when trying to upload a MoneyPak, you'll get denied. Where is the money if it isn't loaded on my card? And how unfair is it that this MoneyPak service fee isn't refunded too? Scam artists.

    I attempted to transfer money from my Green Dot card to someone I owed money to and Green Dot blocked my entire account. I have already sent Green Dot a copy of my ID card and additional requested information twice. I need my account created today because I have to buy heart medicine by 12 pm and all of my money is in my Green Dot Account. They always want me to call or to call me and coerce me into recorded conversations when I just want them to cease and desist on the blocking and false accusations they use to block even after satisfying their requirements to turn in documents. It is false advertising online to tell us when can use accounts without any problem if we verify who we are, then they keep our money anyway and kick us out of the app. I received no notice from Green Dot concerning the issue or how to fix it.

    I am a cardholder of Green Dot for about 2 years now and I first decided to have my refund deposited into my account. Green Dot put a block on my card and did not take the block off my card. They are holding my money. I don't know what they're trying to do with my money. They have all my information, has been verified and I've had this account for over a year and there should be no reason why they're holding my tax return and I'm not the only person that they're doing this to.     I've been a loyal customer with Green Dot for years. I've purchased a few cards with them. Got my refund on it several times. No issues. All of a sudden this year on 02/22/2019 my refund came on my card. I was able to send my husband $300 then they blocked my card. Mind you I've been using this card for almost a year now. Never any problems.

    I also verified my identity in the beginning when asked so after noticing it was blocked I called since 8am that morning all the way until 430pm. Was I able to get a customer representative on the phone. I had to use my husband's info just to get through to someone then they told me I have to verify the direct deposit form who I filed my taxes through and send them a pic of my ID which I did & email it to them so I'm waiting up to 48 hours for them to review to get the block off. I'm just scared they won't because I've read a lot of bad things about them I didn't know before and they do it with no warning at all. So I'm just praying I can get my refund. I really need that money for my children. Has anyone gotten their money back? If so please let me know in the comments below. Each one matter.

    Worst experience ever. Worst customer support. They cannot and will not help you. I ran my business and switch to use their card nothing but headaches. The card has a lot of money on it but card will not work. Called customer support no help just to get the runaround and it still don't work. You call them. They tell you to go online.     I have used Green Dot for years. Well just yesterday I went to make a withdrawal and it stated "Invalid PIN." I tried 7 different ATMs. I called and they stated I needed to update my mobile app and change my PIN. I did and went back to several ATMs with no luck again of getting MY money. I called them immediately and was told they would put in a service ticket to check to see what was the issue. I received an email today saying there were no issues with my card. I went into an actual bank to make a withdrawal and my card was declined and could not even get a cash advance from my card. Now this is MY money that was direct deposited from my employer and I can't get have access to it.

    So I call Green Dot again and now they are stating they are having technical issues... Okay so why didn't you tell me that yesterday. Why haven't you emailed me to let me know? Is Green Dot doing something fraudulent? Should I contact an attorney? Do I call the police? Should I alert the media so they can do an investigation? I just want MY money to pay my bills. And then to even think I have MY tax refund being deposited soon into my Green Dot account...that completely makes me nervous. Hope this technical issue gets fixed ASAP or I guess I will have to take legal action.

    As I'm writing this, I have been on hold waiting for customer service for an hour and 45 minutes. Trying to get money at the ATM and it keeps saying "invalid PN" for mine and my sister's card. I have $1200 on this card I can't touch! My whole family uses these cards, but it looks like we will be finding an alternative. This isn't even the first issue I've had. I load over $80,000 a year on this card, and it's frustrating not being able to get to it. Not to mention how important customer service is to them... Oh wait, scratch that, I can't get anyone on the phone! Sorry, but I will have to urge everyone I know to stop using these cards.

    These people are stealing money from customers! They clearly have a breach within the company and are doing nothing about it! I have been a loyal customer for over 10 years which clearly has accounted for nothing. I have had to dispute three transactions in a month. It has been a month since and I have not received my money back. They said it may take 45 days. My card was not compromised, the breach came from their end and I don't feel I should have to suffer. No one in customer service speaks English and they don't have useful info. to give anyway. They pretend to put you on with supervisors but it's the same agents. Nobody seems to be running the show. Despite being told they would respond to my email within 2 days, it has been 6 and no word. I can't wait to cancel my account an tell everyone I know never to do business with this fraudulent company.

    I've been using Green Dot for about 6 months. Up until yesterday it was good. Now I can't access my money. It keeps saying wrong PIN number. I called them. They told me the only way to fix this problem was to go online and change the pin number. I did that a total of four times. I couldn't tell you how many phone calls I made to this company just to get someone on the other end that can't speak English very well. I live on a fixed income. My social security is direct deposit to this account. I have no idea what to do or who to complain to but I do know if I ever get my money I will never do this again. At least not with this company.

    I opened my account through Uber. Uber takes all your information like social, birthday, address, etc. They had to verify all of that information then created my account using the information. Once my account was opened I had to verify my email and phone number. Once I successfully did that I received a message about getting my tax returns sent to this account and doing so they would put whoever in to receive a cash prize. So I proceeded on using this account for my refund. Now a few weeks later I am supposed to be receiving my return but I logged in, or at least tried to but my account is blocked.

    I called customer service and the woman tells me my account is block because I got my direct deposit sent to my account, and that I must verify my account again and send proof that my return was sent to that account and that it will take 5 business days for them to review it and unblock the account. I also tried to call back to make sure I sent the correct documents but it won’t allow me to get connected to an agent because I already spoke to someone. There is just an automated message informing me that the account is still blocked.

    My husband bought and loaded a Green Dot MoneyPak card with 400.00 so I could add to my account and pay bills and buy gas to get back and forth. When he scratch to reveal the numbers the numbers scratched off with it. Recycled plastic? I don’t know? I’ve never seen anything like it! Even a paper lottery ticket doesn’t do that. I immediately called and received via text the link to send my information with photo of card and store receipt to Green Dot. This was Tuesday night at approximately 6 pm CST. I received a confirmation with a reference number promising a response within 1 business day.

    I added the Green Dot email to my address book as advised. I checked my email and junk folder throughout the day on Wednesday and today praying and being patient keeping in mind that the company seems to be in California with a two hour time difference. I even called back unknown phone numbers which were robo telemarketers to make sure I didn’t miss a call from them. I replied to their original email three times pleading for help. I’ve tried calling the number and getting a person, after all I do have a reference number and a promise of 1 business day in the original response message. I was unable to get anywhere and one option requested my social security number be entered and I’m just not doing that without someone verifying other information. I don’t know what to do! Tomorrow is the last day of the business week. My husband is furious and we are broke and are trying to pay our bills.

    My son and I work for DoorDash. My son had a direct deposit to my card for the amount of 4200 for a couple of referral bonus for referring some people to work for DoorDash. Once DoorDash sent the payment Green Dot block the card for verification and ask that I send them my ID copy and something saying that the deposit came from DoorDash. When I sent them the copy they never called and informed me that they needed anything else so after a few days I called and was informed that the ID copy I sent was blurry. So I sent another copy of mine and my son’s ID only to be told a few days later they needed something else.

    After a couple of weeks of going through this I ask them to return the money back to DoorDash and they told me it would be another 10 days for that to happen after DoorDash sent them a written letter stating that they wanted the deposit back. Every time I call Green Dot it is always something new that will take 5 days for a resolution and it happens every time I call. They tell me that they will have somebody call me and I never get a call back. This company is a complete scam. I never heard of a bank that will keep your money once they receive it. I don't know what to do, my bills are piling and I am getting nowhere talking to their overseas call center where the customer service sucks. Is there anybody who have went through this with Green Dot and is there a law group that I can go to so that I can get my money.

    After receiving multiple emails from Green Dot encouraging me to use their direct deposit service, I gave it a try. Upon the arrival of my funds, they blocked my account and withheld my funds. These funds were for my basic needs; food, fuel, housing, etc. Now I run the risk of eviction for failure to pay my rent. I spent 45 minutes waiting to speak with a “specialist", only to reach a woman speaking broken English on a very poor connection. Nothing was resolved. Now I have to wait until 11am EST to speak with someone in California. There were no legible stipulations in the email which was sent to me in reference to the amount to be deposited. It’s a debit card to load that’s it!!! Green Dot is not a reputable banking institution!!!

    2/16 I called Green Dot to update my address for them to send a personalized card to me. They informed me I needed to send a copy of my drivers license and my utility bill to confirm my identity. It sounded a little sketchy to me, they told me I would continue to be able to make credit purchases but needed to send the documents in to make debit transactions.

    Now it is 2/20. I am due to have my tax refund deposited on that account TOMORROW & I find out my card is blocked today. I call. I sat on the phone for 50 minutes with no one answering, I then call off of another phone, I then get the automated voice message that tells me to email the documents but does not say which one! I would have confirmed my identity earlier if I would have known it was going to be blocked. I am not able to pay my bills and I feel extremely ripped off and sketched out that they got notification that I am receiving my tax return and bam they blocked my card. I will be closing my account if it’s not fixed in a timely manner.

    Today I got paid 323.00. I stopped on my way home to get gas. I pumped 23.00 in gas. When I left the store and got home my balance on my card was zero. I called Green Dot once I found a number that would let me talk to a person. I explained I used my card and got 23.00 in gas and now my money’s gone. It says the store took 323.00. The lady told me that I have to wait till the 27th before they could try to get it back for me. The 27th is a week away. I have no money and 2 little girls that depend on me to take care of them. What do I do now. This is the second time they have got me messed up they don’t deserve a star.

    I have used my green dot card for over 2 months for hotel deposits for my business. Each deposit is $50 and should be credited back to the account. I understand it takes up to 10 business days. However I had one deposits from 01/09/19 that has not been returned to my card. I have another $50 deposit that should have posted on 01/20/19. Then I should have 2—$50 deposits to be credited back to my account from 02/07/18. Still nothing has been put back. The transactions were showing credit pending and then disappeared with NO funds being added back to the card.

    I bought a MoneyPak card for $500 and loaded it to my card. I even got an email that it was successfully loaded to my card. I never got the money on my Green Dot card! I then put in a ticket where they said they would get back in 1 business day. It has been a week and I still have heard nothing. I sent a Facebook message to them and all I got was "We are looking into resolving this at a later date". WTF you needed to resolve this last week! Not to mention they have no way of contacting a live agent.

    Filed my taxes with TurboTax and opted to have my refund deposited on to the TurboTax card powered by Green dot, well my refund has been deposited on the card, but I haven’t received my card yet and it has been 3 weeks, I have tried to call the customer service number, and it prompts me to put in the last four digits of the card. Okay how can I do that when I have never received the card? I cannot get a live person on the phone in order to even inquire about what has happened to the card, I am in the process of retaining an attorney to help resolve the issue. I would like a resolution to this issue now!!!

    I have misplaced my card that my taxes are due to go on! Every time I call customer service I get a halfway English speaking person! I have a old acct with Green Dot but set up a new one that is the card that has been misplaced!     Started to register the card online. There was some type of error and was told by a computer that I can only use my card in person. That's not what I need the card for. I need it to pay bills online. I can uses cash in person. Try to call them and only could get prerecorded messages.

    I own my company and I got a Green Dot card so people would get my credit cards. I only put enough on them to pay what I need to pay. If you ever dispute a charge Green Dot customer service acts like you are taking it from them. And treat you like you've done something wrong. No matter how much you have on your card 8 transaction per day that really bad cause I had a company accidentally charge my card the wrong amount 3 times. Now it varies from 3.75 to 4.25 every time you add money. As for getting credit it's just not true. Here is a better way. Bluebird. You can use them as much as you want and free to add money and at Bluebird they are on your side all the way. So after get my another website set up they will be. Buyer beware. Green Dot will be one of the first one on it.

    For being the largest prepaid card site, it is very defective. They currently have a big server problem they don’t care to fix and their temporary cards you buy in the store are completely useless and a waste of money! Do NOT buy a temporary Green Dot card in the store. I bought one, tried to activate. Then get an error to check my name and social. Everything is correct. Then I go to next page and get an error message, “we are unable to verity your identity." Yes, they spelled it VERITY. T and not an F. Yes spelling mistakes! Then the next page says to upload a photo ID. But I take a picture from my iPhone and get an error that it’s a wrong file type.

    Also, every family in my household has tried to register one and get the same error message. There is something wrong with their servers in the process that checks information when activating a card and information can’t be verified, but they make it seem like it’s your fault. We wasted a lot of money buying useless temporary cards. I don’t understand how the biggest prepaid company can have issues like this. Ridiculous.

    Put $40 on card but had to pay extra $3.00. Found out that had to pay monthly access fee of almost $8.00 right away. So the card becomes negative $11.00 roughly right away. Then I wanted to close the card, the tech support told me to load more money on the card (minimum $20) and then was charged a fee of almost $4.00 at Wal-Mart. Then I was told I had to spend all the money on the card because they can't make me a paper check to refund the balance. I go to Dollar Tree and make the card a zero balance with cash then card. Then I call the customer service number and surprise, no more option to talk to a real person anymore. I go online to close the account and follow to the security tab and press the close account link. The website link does not work and just logs you out of the website. This company is a big scam.

    I bought a Green Dot card to deposit me and my son's earnings on it. We received a referral deposit for over 4000.00 that was direct deposited from our employer and now the card is blocked. When I contacted Green Dot support to resolve the issue that told me I needed to send a picture of my ID and proof that our employer direct deposited the funds (which was strange seeing that they direct deposited it straight to the card).

    After speaking to an associate who informed me that it would take up to 5 days for the block to be released and that my id picture was blurry, I sent a clearer copy but when I tried to contact Green Dot back I was unable to get through. After 5 days I called and was able to reach someone who told me to send the direct deposit verification again and that it would take another 5 days. I attempted to send the copy again but this time it came back that I was unable to send because their email was full so I tried to call back and a recording came on saying that my card was still blocked and I was unable to reach an operator.

    Now I'm thinking this is a scam. It's been going on 2 weeks and the funds that was worked for have not been unblocked and now my money is on a card that I can't use. I ask them to send the money back to my employer so I could use another account and they told me that wasn't an option. Why are you holding funds? Once this is cleared I will never ever use Green Dot again... EVER!!! Is it possible that I can get someone to contact me concerning this matter seeing that I cannot contact anyone via phone or email.

    January 27, 2019 a transaction showed up on my account that I didn't make and filed a transaction dispute and received that money back February 11, 2019. Recently other transactions have appeared on February 15, 2019 and have had to file other transaction disputes again. I am at my wit's end, when is this gonna stop, someone is obviously stealing money from people's accounts and needs to be looked into from inside the company. It needs to be stopped, some people work too hard for their money to have it stolen. To the person stealing from people's accounts...remember Karma will come back to you!

    Shut it down. Shut it down immediately, this dumpster fire of a company makes it mind bendingly difficult to close an account even on a long unused card. I am sitting here, waiting to be sent a new card to be "reloaded" to get rid of their monthly "card maintenance" fee, so that I can rid myself of this detestable plague. Their placement in the company of gift cards in stores such as Walmart and CVS make this a purchase that could be made by susceptible buyers looking for a simple holiday gift, ensnaring the giftee in a tangled web of fees. Never use this card, never buy it for a loved one. Stay far, far away from this nightmare.

    My daughter received the Green Dot card as a gift certificate from family for Christmas. When I called to activate it they said because she is a minor they could not. They said they will send out a check for the $50 and cancel the card. This was in December and we still have not received the check. Also, now when I try to call, I can’t get through to a person due to the fact the card number comes back as invalid. This is extremely frustrating. Where did the $50 go?

    I purchased and loaded a card on Feb 6 at Dollar Tree. I received my permanent card in the mail very quickly and that's when everything started going downhill and fast. When I tried to activate my card online it said I needed to call a number (which was the wrong number) to activate my card. I finally found the right number and then spent 35 mins waiting on hold (had to get back to work so I had to hang up) and then another 50 min on hold later and still didn't get to talk to a human. When I tried to log in to my account through the app it said my account was blocked. So I tried calling again, but this time the automated message said I had to follow the instructions I was given the last time I called and that the account would be blocked until I sent in the required documents. My tax refund was supposed to have been deposited yesterday, but I can't access it since my account has been blocked. Do NOT waste your time with Green Dot.

    Anytime that I try to call into customer service I haven't gotten a person in which I could understand. Communication is a big part in a business. So there shouldn't be language barriers. Pulling out money is impossible. There is no where that I can go that I can pull a large lump sum or go to an ATM pull cash without being charged. You should have a network that we can work with that doesn't charge just to get access of your funds. I couldn't move the monthly service charge to a different date so that it would work with my direct deposit so my account wouldn't go negative. As soon as I get my taxes I will close the account.

    I have been using Green Dot prepaid card for 11 months with no problem. Last week my card stopped working, I contacted Customer Service, they blocked my card and was mailing me out a new card. In the meantime I don’t have access to my 1093.00! All my bills are due, I can’t pay my car note or rent!! They told me they would overbite me a card and I have yet to receive it!! I am calling the Corp Office to file a complaint!! I am very unhappy with how I’m being treated!!!

    This company is terrible and I'm sure a class action lawsuit is imminent for them. Giving them one star is a travesty, zero would be a far more accurate rating for these scammers. I purchased 2 $500 reload cards 5 weeks ago, went to upload them and was told I needed ID verification. So I did that and their website told that they usually review within 30 minutes, with a maximum of 2 days, well it's been 5 days now, no email, no call, and still no money posted to my card. There is no way of getting ahold of or contacting anyone in any way to see wtf is going on. Scammers at best, there are other companies out there that offer what this service is supposed to be but isn't, exercise your options and steer clear of these guys.

    I have been using the Green Dot prepaid Visa cards for 3 years. Visas are accepted worldwide and I have never had a problem with the cards or my purchases. That is until yesterday. I purchased the card and put money on it but when I went to make my purchase, the card was declined. This was at an online store where I had made the same purchase with the Green Dot cards before, in Canada. I called Green Dot this morning and was informed that their cards CAN NO LONGER BE USED OUTSIDE THE USA. Their cards are not very useful in that case, and certainly with what you pay to use them!

    0 STAR RATING (1 star was forced). Like many others giving a review, I had my tax refund sent to this prepaid card and now my refund has been deposited and I can't access it because I HAVE NO CARD! Complete BS! I called and spoke with "support", and heard "I'm sorry mam, BUT" a hundred times... followed by a reason they could do nothing to help me and that I just had to wait. Then I was directed to access my account online to get my temporary card #. I was told this could only be done via desktop and I didn't have access at that time so I wrote down directions. I've now had time to access the site and can not find anything about a temporary card #. This is completely unacceptable. I wish I had searched reviews before making the mistake of working with this company. It won't happen again. P.S Green Dot Support. I would love a call IF YOU ARE CALLING TO GIVE ME ACCESS TO MY FUNDS. If not, please don't waste my time!

    Firstly it advertises instantly able to down funds to the card. However really after the $25 dollar it takes to purchase the card you have to wait a few days for it to be mailed to you with your name and verified addressed attached. So in my case... buying a MoneyPak card as I was directed by the retail manager and trying to download it on the card didn’t work. It was continually declined. Wtf... I gave them $400 and they weren’t able to figure out why it wouldn’t load. After calling Green Dot they explained the card had to be mailed to me. Again not instantly able to download funds... I was inconvenienced and out of my own $400 for a few days. Further after this. I tried to call and cancel the card after I withdrew the funds. However the card was accessed a monthly fee from Green Dot under my 30 days of having it bringing my card to a negative balance. They want me to add money on to the card before they close it out. Ridiculous.

    I bought this card in December of 2018 so my teenage daughter can use it while traveling. Only after I bought it and went ahead and registered the card which asked for all my info from name to dob to address to SS# to you name it, then deposited $100 that I found out there's a monthly $7.95 charge! Now good luck calling and complaining. You'll end with customer service in Philippines who didn't understand what I was telling them about "deceptive ads" where I wasn't told about the charge till after the fact!

    I called over 5 times and demanded to speak with a supervisor or to be transferred to US number. However, not once was I able to speak to anyone in charge. I ended up calling VISA and complain. Now I am waiting for resolution. What idiot will deposit $100 then pay $7.95 per month! Like what! 8% monthly fee!!! It's a scam even you're totally destitute with below zero credit!

    I received an error that my identity could not be verified, meaning that my card could only be used for in-person transactions. When I tried to resolve the issue, all I got were "No"s. They wouldn't even let me talk to a supervisor. I essentially have a useless piece of plastic and no way to access the last of my money. They robbed a homeless person, and I hope they never have a moment of peace for the rest of their wretched lives.

    This is been the worst card out there! I tried to load the card this morning. I never had a problem using my PIN. So Walmart said that my PIN number was rejected. I call customer service and get a hold of a Hindu. Boy I tell we need people from the U.S. They told me that I have to download the app to change PIN. Why should I have to download the ** app when I have you on the phone! Their fees is ridiculous. Card is trash. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE GETTING THIS CARD!!

    I bought a couple of MoneyPak cards with $100 on each to load a prepaid card for each of my kids. I created an account and uploaded my driver's license and y’all can’t verify my identity! I’ve given all my info and uploaded front and back just as instructed. The pictures were clear and all! It's not like I can call and speak to someone because you can’t speak to anyone! This is ridiculous!!! I’d like my $200 without having to write to MoneyPak in California and wait God knows how long!!! I don’t understand how my ID couldn’t be verified! Doesn’t make sense! Never again will I ever use them or tell anyone to! Ughhh.

    I am reading through all of these reviews and have been a long standing GreenDot member with excellent service until recently. My card had expired and they sent to my old address I was told to order a new card to have the money transferred over of course when the new card arrives. I was so thankful only to have the new card be “defective” and sent to me in error. I have not been able to access my money since January 30. I have made more phones calls than I care to count only to be told that, "Corporate is the only one that can do anything and they will call you." So I wait and I try to transfer my money out like I was told to only to be stopped by a security block. I call again and it’s the same thing corporate can only do anything but nobody is able to send you there. They have to call you.

    After waiting and waiting and getting no call I reached out to the FDIC who gave me the number to Bonneville Bank which could not help me but did give me the direct number to corporate. I am supposed to have an expedited card sent to me and was told to call back for a tracking number. Called twice. No tracking number and can only hope it will be here tomorrow. I will be reporting them to the Federal Reserve. I have done everything that has been asked of me and more.

    So my gift to all of you I am going to give you all the direct number to corporate ** that will get you directly to corporate. ** is the number for the Federal Reserve. I can appreciate security to help keep my money safe but if corporate is the only one that can do anything of significance then they should be available. Everyone I talk to is sorry and understanding but nobody is doing anything. I was carded for a replacement card which is fine and well. Just pisses me off they can access my funds but I can’t.

    So I bought the prepaid card on the 31st with 240 dollars. Paid my energy bill which was 239.13 dollars that same hour and Nevada Energy tried to get the money on the 31st. They weren’t able to get access to the funds and tried again on the 1st and they returned it for insufficient because of the monthly charge. So what I’m getting to is that they purposely held the money until the first so they can get their monthly fee. Which screwed me and my 2 roommates out of energy that got shut off today. And we have 300 dollars worth of groceries that are gonna go bad/spoil.

    I’m not happy with the customer service because their customer service sucks really bad and they don’t know how to answer all the questions I had for them except for they can return the monthly payment which will be no help because now we have to pay 327.98 dollars instead of 240 and our power got cut off. Don’t buy a Green Dot card for whatever reason. They are scamming thousands of people.

    So I load a MoneyPak card at Walgreens. I leave the store and go to the Moneypak website and try to load the Moneypak to my bank card. Well lo and behold I get chosen to have my identity verified (I just loaded CASH to that card in Walgreens, how stupid is this?). I upload my driver's license. Wait for forever and get an email they can't verify my perfectly legit driver's license and that I will have to request a refund. Now when I request a refund it will not let me. That is THEFT people. THEFT. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER. I will be getting a lawyer.

    I had a Walmart Prepaid Debit card and used it daily until it was blocked after a deposit. Called three times and all times have been put on hold for 40 min plus. Says account is locked due to not activating my personalized card. Never received it and requested a second. Never saw it. I have now changed addresses and I have to verify my new address. I don't mind it but if I can verify my identity over the phone I should be able to change my address over the phone to a representative.

    On 2/11/2019 I called and asked for a Supervisor. The rep told me that a supervisor would call within the next 4 hours, no call. Today 2/12/2019 Called back talked to another Rep same thing asked for a Supervisor. Stayed on hold twice to be forced off the line to make space for other customers. Told I was going to be given priority call within 24 hours. I highly doubt I will receive a call. This company is a sham and with completely horrendous customer service. Your company will fail.

    I purchased two MoneyPaks totaling $980 to load to my RushCard and they keep sending emails saying they can't verify my information and that I have been blocked. I'm so irritated beyond measure. Never ever ever do business with them. Never ever buy anything from Green Dot. I can't even talk to anyone. Everything is automated or email and I have to wait an eternity for a response. You are messing with people's lives and things they have to pay for. This is terrible and evil. I'm so disgusted.

    I have used Green Dot for years without any problem and Friday I added money to only check it over and over and it never added the cash reload at the register nor did it ever add my cash reload. I stupidly tried to make again at a different store on Sat. I put all my money on it and now it's just like it's gone in the wind and the customer service number DOES NOT work!

    Green Dot stole $800 from me overnight. I won 800 dollars in a casino and right away I put it on a prepaid card from Green Dot as I didn't want to carry cash. The next day they immediately blocked me from using the card till I sent in Identification. I tried 7...SEVEN phone calls to verify my identification. I sent them everything they asked for. The call center is in Thailand. They wrote the wrong address, wrong case numbers, wrong spelling of names. Poor communication and procedures lost emails, poor English. It's been three months and no one cares about my case. Or that they owe me 800 dollars. I have spent over 30 hours on the phone with them.

    Do your research people. Get a bank card and customer service here in USA. They outright stole my money and I see on other reviews they have outright stolen money from others too cause they don't address the issues. This not the day and age to steal money from mothers and fathers who have to feed their kids or pay their bills, next thing you know your gonna see a Green Dot employee on the news and it's not even their fault. Not good business Green Dot.

    I purchased the card at Walgreens and call automated line that shows I have balance. When I try to active over the phone, through your website or app I receive error "We apologize, but we're currently experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again later." I called customer service and was finally able to speak to someone and all they could do for me was transfer me to the self service activation through phone number. I am very upset. I have money in a card that is not usable. I cannot activate the card to pay my bill.

    This company not only is a scam, yet the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They make it almost impossible to speak to them over the phone. Only people that can speak to them over the phone are current 'mail' card users. I had to have my friend call them, using his account and three way me in. They are thieves, true thieves and I'm not even sure how they are still in business. Please stay away. I just lost $180 with them.

    I reached out to customer services in regards that I cannot access my money or take our any funds from my card. They informed me that it was "recent change" and that I would have to order a new card, but disable my temporary card, leaving me with no way to access my account to pay for things or take out money, all while waiting for my new one to arrive. And now, I can no longer access my account!

    I received this as a gift for Christmas. After painfully having to disclose my personal info such as SSN and DOB to activate the card, I proceeded to use it as quickly as possible so I could get rid of it; I have no need for another debit card. I used the full amount of $25 within minutes of activating it and thought I was done with it as Green Dot states on their paper policy that comes with the card and I quote: "How to Close Your Card. Simply spend down the amount on your Card, cut it up and throw it away." Turns out they pend the transaction for a day so they can charge you the $7.95 monthly fee. I'm curious on how they charge a fee on a card that has been closed per their definition of closed.

    On January 24, 2019 I called Green Dot to dispute a charge on my card. I was told a credit would be applied to my card within 5-7 business days... I called back on the 24th because the credit still did not show on my card. I was told another dispute was being opened and I had the option of closing that card and receiving a new card. I declined that option as I had too many deposits going into that account.

    On February 5th my child support was deposited onto my card. On February 6th I attempted to use my card only to have the transaction declined. I checked my balance knowing a deposit was just made. Yep there was a positive balance of several hundred dollars. I sat on hold for 90 minutes before a human picked up only to be told my card was closed and the only way I could receive my money is if they received a fax from SDU requesting a return of the deposit. WHAT??? THEY CLOSED THE CARD THE DAY BEFORE!!! They are now refusing to return my money in anything less than 10 business days! From these reviews it appears they have flat out stolen my money and the money of others. I'm filing a formal complaint with the regulatory commission. This has to stop. I'm thinking it's a class action suit. Please contact me.

    I decided to buy a Green Dot reloadable visa card specifically for online purchases. I purchased the card with an initial $300 loaded onto it. I made a few purchases with minor issues (had to register it with my PayPal acct to make one of the purchases because it wouldn't go through on the shopping website). A week goes by, I get my 'permanent' Green Dot card, register it online then promptly take it to Rite Aid to load another $300 onto it so I can make some purchases online.

    Later that afternoon, I tried repeatedly on 3 different websites to make purchases and each transaction was declined by Green Dot even though there was more than enough money on the card. I tried to contact them with no luck and couldn't find any useful answers on their website. I've triple checked to make sure all my information is the same with the company I was trying to order from and Green Dot, it matched perfectly. So now I have a useless card with $300+ on it and no way to use it. I just want my account closed and my money back. I will just go back to buying gift cards for my online shopping. Wish I had never heard of Green Dot.

    I needed to pay my USAA car insurance and asked the gentlemen in the Walmart MoneyCenter what would be the best card to use for a online USAA bill. I was directed to a Green Dot Mastercard, I purchased the card and loaded $200. I then called to register, gave all proper information and was immediately transferred to a automated voice response that said my registration did not process. I immediately called back and spoke to another operator, explained the situation and he asked if I had moved recently which I told him yes, he said that's the problem. The new address is not showing up (even though all bills to this home are in my name). The operator then instructs me to drive back to Walmart and have the balance put on another debit card. I drive all the way back to Walmart, tell them what I was told and they say there is no way to do this. The Walmart employee even tried to put 195 as a charge to another card, that didnt work.

    I then tried to contact corporate, who just transfers you back to customer service where I have already spoke to four customer service employees and three supervisors. None of which are helpful. Green Dot is not trying to help in any way, every supervisor and employee keep saying that the card for is now for in store purchases anywhere Mastercard is accepted. But I cannot do a online phone or atm transaction. The whole reason I bought this card is to pay my USAA bill, which there are no physical locations to do this and has to be paid online or by phone.

    At this point I'm currently stuck with a $200 card that cannot be reregistered and a company that will not help. The Walmart receipt says no in store refunds and all Green Dot is offering is for me to start swiping this card in store locations. I have a receipt, I have all employee and supervisors' ID numbers. I have two federal IDs DOD and VA, a driver's license, DD-214 SS card all to prove who I am which I offered and was told multiple times, "The registration can't be updated or changed. Sorry."

    I have never in my life had the hardest time with a debit card. Me and my husband have $682 stuck on this debit card. I've had this card for 2 years all right. They have my social security number, my address, my full name, my birthday and my card number. My card is expired. I requested one two weeks prior but never received one in the mail. Now my money is stuck on this expired card and they won't send me a replacement or a check. It won't let me speak to a supervisor because I don't remember my phone number from 2 years ago when I created my account. They have told me to go and registered my card to the website but I can't because my card is expired and I can't update my phone number to speak with a supervisor.

    They are rude, inconsiderate and they don't care about their customers. They don't try to help the situation. All they're good for is hanging up. They took $2 off my card for the month of February but I have no access to my funds but they do. This is the worst Green Dot Bank. I do not suggest for anybody to sign up with them. I have had the most frustrating time dealing with these people. It is wrong what they're doing. They have my social security number. I know my social security number and they won't let me log into my account for anybody to send me a replacement card and now they have $682 of me and my husband's money and they won't refund it and it's stuck so please think before you sign up with these people because this might happen to you.

    RATE NEGATIVE 5K. My card and account are locked. I have no idea why. I have no way to pay my bills. I am hoping my HR department can backtrack the paycheck but I tried calling multiple different numbers, even ones that had nothing to do with customer service because when I called customer service I got an automated line about "calling too many times." I haven't gotten to speak to an actual person yet and I am very frustrated. I just want my card unlocked. I want help. If I don't get help I am getting a lawyer and suing this company because clearly I am not the only one with this issue!!! I see some people get responses from Green Dot on here.     Green Dot/MoneyPak has had a issue with ID verification for a long time, when you call customer service for help with the problem they all read from the same sheet to offer you dead end ways to fix the problem on your own, that's if they don't hang up on you. I personally lost 90.00$ because of their ID issues. Trying to get a refund was even worse. Customer service was awful.

    Green Dot returned a check and letter to my house which was sent to them by a person using checks which had been stolen. Our mail has been stolen several times, we reported it to the police. Today, Green Dot sends a letter to our house stating that "We regret to inform you we are unable to deposit the enclosed check or money order due to one or more of the following reasons." ... "We do not accept 3rd party checks for reloads to the account."

    I have tried to contact Green Dot to ask for help to find these people who wrote this and to ask Green Dot to check their accounts for other fraud payments or transfers. One can only reach Green Dot if they have an account with Green Dot. I have unsuccessfully tried to contact Green Dot regarding the account listed for the Fraud Deposit. I think Green Dot should be concerned that one of their clients is stealing and using Green Dot to laundry stolen money checks. Also, I wish Green Dot will have their people contact me to assist in ensuring that this Criminal and others like them have not been successful in stealing in other ways. I appreciate that they do not receive 3rd party checks. I wish they would help in catching these persons stealing from others or causing hardship in finances with stolen checks they are attempting to and/or depositing. The inability to contact Green Dot makes me question Green Dot.
