I could not even understand the female representative's name due to very poor English spoken throughout the conversation. I had an issue accessing the mobile app for two weeks. When I signed in it kept saying "under maintenance" I deleted and reinstalled the app and still received same message. The representative keep putting me on hold and did not even acknowledge that I was still on the line when she came back and just started talking! Needless to say my issue was not resolved. I do not need this credit card if this is the customer service that I get. I will call to have cancelled!! VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

Credit One is a horrible company and their customer service is worse, this has nothing to do with payments or fees, they're rude and don’t listen to the customer. Run. There is better out there. They are so quick to close an account when you have been using the same bank for your payments for the last year. You have more than one card with them that’s used through the same account.

If only negative stars were an option. Customer Service is absolutely terrible. They not care at all. I only had one agent who spoke remotely kind. Still upset about many things. Was lied to, manipulated and spoken down to on multiple occasions. Would NOT recommend this company to anybody. ever. period. I work in customer service and have always been patient and understanding because I completely understand the other side- however I lost all respect (with the exception of the one woman) for these people.
Never in my life have I gone out of my way to leave a negative review, or even one in general. The fact they don't even have an option at the end of the customer service calls is ironic- Clearly Credit One Bank is quite aware of their terrible service and conditions but don't give a da** and want to do nothing but take advantage of people who are trying to improve their lives. So disappointing and have zero respect for this company. If you are considering applying for Credit One- please heed my advise and run, fast, to another company!

I had to call 3 times before someone understood English enough to help. Brand new card. Wanted to pay it couple weeks early. For some reason payment didn't go through so tried again since I had the money. Still no, so I found my bank didn't recognize the charge and blocked it, but resolved it for future payments. So I made my payment like normal (early still). Week later Credit One Bank slapped multiple fees for every payment attempt that didn't work. Makes sense...but it was my first payment, I had the money and I was paying early. After letting them know I resolved the problem with the bank and would like to request the fees be removed this one time since I wasn't late and unaware of fraud blocks with some banks. They stated the "only" option is closing the account.
I have since asked them to close the account. I agree with fees, but If their "customer service" can't take into account situational experiences for the basis of their fees, I'm not dealing with a cutthroat bank so I agree to close it. However, as many times as I've called and requested, they STILL haven't closed the account. Maybe because it's still not past due and it's a brand new account lol.

I have been with Credit One for close to a year now, and I have made all payments on time. I had a couple of payments come back returned but I made them up immediately. They closed my account with no warning or call or anything. A payment was in their system for the double the of the amount of the return nsf, and at the same time closed my account. Do not use this card holder. They are crooks.

Was offered this card, it came punctually, they took the $75 fee out the first day. Their agreement says they will credit $1.00 from your bank and debit the $1.00 back to confirm bank. They did not do this. I paid my entire balance on 4/19/23 (was due on 5/3), the money was taken on 4/20/23 from my account and as of today, 4/27/23 I still cannot use my credit card, even though it shows a -0- balance. Customer service is friendly but no help. They require a copy of my bank statement which I refuse to send them. $75 lesson. Card cut up, account closed after one month. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM.

If you are thinking about getting a credit card with this company ... PLEASE DON'T!!!! They are complete garbage. My payment of $30 was due 4/23 and because I did not pay it by 5 p.m. on 4/23, they charged me a late fee of $30. Yes, you guys read it correctly. If you don't pay by 5 pm on the "due date" (no grace period), it's a $30 late fee. I read the terms to my agreement thoroughly and that was not stated in there. I am a single mother of 3 and I work 3 jobs that I get off from past 5 pm. I am going to pay my full balance and cancel this credit card. Amongst having no grace period for their customers there are so many other things that just are not a good look for them. Run away! Run as far as you can. I wouldn't even recommend this credit card for people with bad credit or those trying to establish credit. Don't go with this company at all please. There are much better out there.

I received my card and realized there was a $95 annual fee and called Customer Service to cancel my card as I never used. The Rep made some offers if I would keep my card so I did. The next day I logged onto my account and noticed the promises were not being honored. I call Credit One again and was told they were not going to honor those promises. I told them I wanted to cancel my unused card and was told no problem but I’d still be responsible for the $95 annual fee even though I never used the card. It’s my opinion Credit One is no better than a Used Car Salesman.

As long as you never have any type of issue. If you have to call customer service you are addicted to pain. They do not think, they will keep reading script over and over. You call and different info. They will leave you on hold until the phone hangs up, or long enough hoping you will hang up. English is not the first language spoken by the representatives. This would be ok for basic calls. But for more detailed problems they will be pissed at you. If you get the card, just hope you never have an issue. No one should ever call looking for assistance and have this much pain inflicted upon them.

While Credit One cards give someone with bad credit a chance for a new start, there are cards that are far better than these.
1. No grace period for a late payment - even if you call them and explain that you cannot make a payment until a certain date.
2. ASTRONOMICAL interest rates - they are a feather-width under 30% currently (4.24.23).
3. Refuse to work with a card holder to lower the interest rate so that the customer can make their payments more easily.
4. If you are in a debt management program, while they will usually consent to a new interest rate and payment with the program, they will still harass you with notices about late payments (the payments aren't late: they are made by the debt management program in charge of the payments, and are not always received by Credit One on the same date that the payment is due.) When this happens, you need to constantly monitor their statements/website to make sure they haven't assessed any fees they shouldn't have per the agreement they have with the debt management program.
5. You constantly have to monitor statements to see (if you are in a debt managmenet program) whether they sneak in late fees or other charges and call them and remind them that you are with a debt management program.
6. They have VERY high yearly fees.
7. Their customer service STINKS. The people that answer you on the first tier call center - at least the ones that I've gotten - can barely speak English and I have to keep asking questions repeatedly. It makes me wonder if they really understand what I'm trying to ask or say.
8. If you need a new card, they charge you for it.
Basically, this card is only for people who are DESPERATE and - if you are and you're reading this, TRUST ME - there are better cards out there to help repair your credit rating. DO NOT USE CREDIT ONE. As soon as mine are paid off with my debt management plan, I am DONE.

I have worked with many banks and card companies over the years and this has to be hands down the worst company ever when it comes to customer service and fees. They make it nearly impossible to speak with a company representative and they charge an extremely high fee for their card. I would never recommend this bank. Getting an account closed and annual fee return is also next to impossible. Horrible company!!!! Beware!

Watch your bills! I am on automatic payments and caught them charging me late fees BEFORE the due date even though I had paid my bill! This happens on 3 occasions. I wrote them complaining (because there is no other way to speak to someone) and they DID refund me, but they are giving me hard times removing the late fee on my credit report. Thank god I have the letter to submit, some of the credit bureaus took them off but I had to fight for it. Also! When I stopped automatic payments they still deducted the payment so I paid double for about three months also. I have been a customer for two years now and have never been offered an increase. Got denied when asked for one. Probably for the ‘late fees’ they charged me for. But honestly what is a $400 credit card when you should only spend 30%? So I’m keeping my balance at $30 and they can take the apr rate off that… They are not getting more from me! They screwed my credit.

I have called all 4 of their numbers several times today and each of them only ring busy. I had to go online to activate my card - yet every time I have attempted to use the card for has been declined. They accepted the authorization fees 3 times from the gas station...declined my purchase of gas. The customer service link on their website is a dead link. I haven't been able to speak with anyone through the phone or the website! I thought I would give them some time to maybe get my account working/activated even though it says it was - so later in the evening I tried to make a $20 purchase on Amazon, again declined. They have managed to charge me $75 to activate my card plus 7$ for my Purple card - yet I can't use it and cannot get ahold of ANYONE.

Worst credit decision I ever made was to get involved in this substandard company. I opened the account and kept the account in good standing for 11 months. I only got the card because it was an American Express card. They screwed up a scheduled payment of mine and did not take it out when requested due to an error on their end. When I realised it I called their non existent customer service department for days. I finally got through and explained the situation and made the missed payment over the phone less than 5 days later. They returned the late fee and phone payment fee. I was told it would take several days to get back the $30 in interest I was charged. Never got it back and closed the account. STAY AWAY FROM THESE LIARS. I wish I could have rated it 0 stars.

I opened a credit line with $200 deposit to rebuild credit. I downloaded the app to track and make payments, etc. About 6 months later I changed my personal bank. I added the info, verified it through Credit One's app, seemed fine. Made my monthly payment, 5 days later I was sent an email that the payment was returned and the account assessed a 40 dollar return fee and 39 dollar late fee. I called customer service, explained I was sure I chose my new account, must be a glitch in the App. They returned the fees, I resubmitted, this time taking photos of me doing it since the app doesn't allow screen shots. Again, 5 days later, same thing. So I removed that old bank account to just cover my bases. Called in, explained, again fees removed. Resent once again and this time it went through.
The app a week later showed a credit availability to be what I made my payment for. Needed gas, so I went to the store, thought, "OK, I'll put it on this card, build more credit, we're good." Card is declined. I called customer service to be advised the account is closed due to 2 return payments. I said, "Well if you can't reactivate it, apply my 200 deposit to the balance and we'll be good." I was advised that due to return payments (their app's bug) they now keep the 200 and I owe the remaining 200 balance and there's nothing they can do. I see this as fraud, as they were made aware immediately on my end there was a glitch. I believe they have a system in place to cause failures to keep deposits and then try to collect the enormous fees they add at opening. Do not recommend even if building credit.

I received a "pre-approved" letter from these guys. I should have known better. So I went online and was told that I was approved for a card with a limit of $300-1500--might have been $2000. So I said OK and received a card with a $300 limit. The first bill came and it had a $75 annual fee charge on a $300 limit card. I have never applied for a card that has an annual fee and I wouldn't with this outfit. Particularly with a $300 limit!. Either it wasn't in the application or was in really small print. I spoke with a Rep from the bank and we both laughed that it was ridiculous to have that high of a fee for a small limit card.
She told me there was nothing she could do about it so I told her she needs to get a job with a reputable company. I told her I am not going to make any payment on the card. She laughed and did say not to worry about it until collections calls. I told her it doesn't matter--my credit will already be dinged so I sure as hell ain't going to pay them--and will appeal with fury once collections gets involved. I have put in a complaint with the BBB and will find other areas to file complaints. Funny that before I even use the card I owe them $75--nice gig for the bank--sucks for us. This bank is horrible and avoid at all costs.

I originally had a low balance credit card with First National Bank of Marin. Years later, they changed to CreditOne Bank. I had not issues for the first few years. Then, around 2018-2019 things started changing. Random items in my account would change. I would go in and correct them. Suddenly, I couldn't get in at all. I noticed random charges that were not right and corrected them with the institutions that made them. Then, in late 2019, I received a replacement card. Activated it and set to e-statements with no mail and two factor sign in. A few months later, the estatements stopped and things seemed to revert. I went and tried to log in to reset them and found I could not even log in. Called customer service and got things fixed. Then in late 2022 it happened again. Called to get it fixed and was told that my information did not match.
Somehow, someone went in from THEIR system and changed profile items and someone else had control of the account and I no longer had anything, even though I could prove it was mine. Their customer service would not even tell me who to contact to get it fixed, just kept saying "you would need to contact the back office" with no more details. Filed a grievance with credit bureaus and now the account shows charged off. I can't do anything with it to fix or investigate it, so I just wrote this bank off and won't do business with them again. Understand that this is the ONLY card/bank that I have ever had a situation like this with, and it happened completely from their end, around two factor ID and everything.

I opened a card with Credit One bank 2 years ago, since then they reached out to me about increasing my credit line but after doubling my credit line they sent me an additional card. Then reached out again about increasing the credit line another $500 which was another credit card, informed them I do not wish to have another account so they increased a card $250. What happened to the $500? Every time you try and make a payment you are locked out of the account for "system maintenance" or "account suspended" then you wait 24-72 hours and log in and what do you see? More unnecessary charges added from the previous file review.
I do not recommend you work with this company in any way possible. If you decide to, then definitely record all conversations and print all documents with statements. They are NOT consumer friendly in the least. Also if you choose to close the account out ask the rep on the phone to send you an account closing statement with the days date which will include the Per Diem (daily accruing interest) while you're on the phone with them. Otherwise you will pay balance in full then they will charge you a fee off of the interest they didn't omit that was already on the account Stick to the larger credit card companies. Even if the credit line offered is higher. Save your credit you worked hard for it!!!

No one in customer service will transfer me to a supervisor....I've had to call back 8 times now and give 8 different people my name address and social security information...Each time they say they'll transfer me to a supervisor they hang up on me....I got approved back in January and they said they've sent it many times...in January, in February and now in March...
On Monday of this week they said they'll send it 2-3 day shipping for having to wait 3 months for my card... Then now an hour later when I finally get a supervisor..she said no one told me that and I told her if the calls are recorded to listen for herself. They keep saying my address isn't a legit address and that's why every 2 weeks when they ship a new card it doesn't arrive but I called UPS and they said my address is fine and it's probably a scam company if they are saying my address isn't deliverable.
I get Amazon packages to this address daily as well as letter correspondence and bills mailed to this address every week. Now I'm getting texts and emails saying I need to make a payment or I'm past due on a payment!?! How?! I haven't even gotten my card in the 3 months that I been waiting for it!? They want me to pay for what??!? All customer service agents are in India and you can research online about scammer companies from India. Can't even get an American or proper English speaking representative in customer support. Do not choose this card. My credit score is 632. I applied for and received the Credit One American Express bank card. They are deceitful and manipulative because:
2. They charge you $4.95 to make an extra payment over the phone.
3. You cannot make an extra payment on their website. It is considered the standard or monthly payment. There is no option for an extra payment even if you try 3-5 days after your regular payment has posted. So you can never get ahead because of high interest rates.
4. They send you offers to raise your credit limit but you must pay a fee and it is for a card with another name.
5. They will not send you offers for balance increases for the card I have which is Capital One American Express which I want to keep.
These important details are never described when you view lists for credit cards for individuals with fair credit. These options should be available to all.Credit One is not a card for those trying to get ahead. They have figured out every way possible to keep you in the pit. My credit card information from Credit One Bank was stolen in October and it took them two months, and my constant calling to reverse the charges so I wasn't paying interest on those fraudulent charges. I decided I was just going to be done with it and I made a payment on 12/21/2022 to bring the account current while they continued their investigation into the fraudulent charges. I called two days later on 12/23/2022 to close the account. I then waited for a check in the mail for the over payment I would receive and now, in February, I receive a phone call that I'm past due on my payment for them? What? How?
For January and February I was charged for credit protect and I was charged an annual fee as well as one of the erroneous charges from October REPOSTED to my account! This company is absolutely absurd and they're all about how to get the most money from you that they can. I have never dealt with a company so terribly and utterly lost. I've now spoken to at least five or six different people and none of them say they can a) reverse the late fee charges, b) close the account, c) reverse the annual fee charges or the credit protect. Two weeks later, still no card. I called back AGAIN & they claimed to had sent it to my old address. I updated it with them over a month ago & I had my mail forwarded. They lied that time. I spoke with a supervisor who promised they would send it out. 3 months later, I STILL DON’T HAVE A CREDIT CARD.
Now, they claimed to had sent it out on the 12th of December and then they opened a claims for another card of Jan 22. Why would they open a ticket to issue the card on the 22nd if they really did send it on the 12th???? Now I’m on the phone with the 8th supervisor and they are saying that they don’t know when they can send me another card AND IT’S BEEN THREE MONTHS!! How in the world can they tell me that they don’t know when they will send it and they can’t guarantee when they will send it???
THIS IS A HORRIBLE COMPANY! You don’t even get your money for rewards! They’ve sent me 3 checks over two months after the date they were issued. So, when I got the checks they were expired. They refused to reprint them. Since this has happened every year and I never had issues receiving any of my mail, I can only assume this is done intentionally and they do it to all of their customers so they won’t have to pay them!!! Customer service is horrible. They will lie & then make it seem like you’re crazy for wanting to have access to your money. I don’t care how bad your credit is, start with a reliable company. Try Capital One. I’ve never had an issue with them. This company needs to be shut down! They have a bunch of people working from home from ** & they are NOT TRAINED.

Although Credit One offers a pretty good card, their service is horrible… My account got shut down for 0 reason, never missed a payment and have had card about 3 months, when I call to find out what’s going on they inform me my account has been closed, when I ask why I can get a straight answer, finally an “account supervisor” gets on the phone and tells me about “reversed payments” from this account… Every payment he brought up was taken from my bank account and I provided him reference numbers… He then asks if I could send in my statement so he could open an investigation… Too much trouble for no reason, I’ll use a different card moving forward. RUN AWAY IF YOU'RE THINKING ABOUT USING CREDIT ONE BANK!!!!

American Express should get out of business with Credit One fast. So I lost my card I called to cancel the old one and requested a new one. A month later I realized I still haven’t received it yet. So I go into my online account cause I know they have an annual fee of $95 and wanted to see if it was charged to the card for the new year. I found 599,00 charged on the card $400 at an Apple Store and 199 at a rite aide. I said how is this possible I didn’t even get the card yet. So I called them to tell them what’s going on and to let them know there are fraud charges on the card. They said we will have to review this but in the mean time you will have to send us a utility bill and your license so we can confirm who you are. I said, "Are you serious?"
I said, "You should be looking to see who charge my card that purchases were made in another state and I never activated this card." No customer protection with their products or interest into looking into The matter. So I paid the balance cause I don’t want my credit getting hit while they wait to decide if they will look into this issue. I will be canceling my account with then once payment is taken from my bank account. Stay away from this credit card company they don’t care about their customers and the safety of people personal information. This company is bad news and American Express made a big mistake putting their name on this card looks very bad for them too!!!

I have been a Credit One card holder for about 5-10 years. I have had several issues with transactions being declined to avoid fraud. Embarrassing, but not unique to them. I have always paid on time and usually try to pay off each month. One often you cannot pay completely off unless all your transactions are early in the month. Not sure, but this is a bit annoying. I do not care for the 7 days after paying to have credit available, but still not my biggest issue. For the second time after making a payment (to pay the card off), they have suspended the card because my payment could not verified. The first time I provided them with the information they requested (proof the payment came from our bank account) they never reinstated. Then when we called, they said they had closed the account because we had not submitted proof. We cut up the card and it is still showing as an open account.
Now again, I paid the card off and 8 days later I received a letter "temporarily suspending" the account until I provide a copy of a bank statement (which I do not like) or a printed transaction detail. They have the account paid off, and I will keep it that way. Going to wait and get a credit card company I can use and count on having the credit they extend. I do appreciate the card at a time I had poor credit, but I am done with this company.

Card itself is okay, so long as you never need help with anything. They have hands down the worst customer service I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. No one I have interacted with speaks fluent English and on top of genuinely not being able to understand the CSR, the few of them that I have spoken with are beyond rude. They act extremely annoyed to have to be helping you and I use the term helping very loosely because helpful is the last thing they are. Not to mention not only can you not understand them, they can’t understand you either so it’s a phone call of constantly asking one another to repeat themselves, except they ask you to do so in an extremely rude, arrogant and condescending way.
My other issue is that the Payments take like a week to post to your account, so don’t plan on using your card anytime soon after you make your payment if it is close to being maxed out. It will show online that you have available credit but it won’t actually be available to spend for approximately 5 days. This is 2023. What credit card company takes almost a week to process a payment? My other cards take 1 business day and I even have 1 that processes payments instantly. They need to train their customer service department how to actually be of service to their customers and actually process customer payments in a timely fashion and then they might be worth recommending but until then, it’s a no from me.

My initial experience with Credit One was great. I had 2 cards, 1 for approximately a year. All payments except one was made on time and even that one was corrected shortly after. Few months later my lease was up and I had to move ~ unfortunately there were unexpected expenses related to move that threw my whole budget off. When I made my payment, I mistakenly provided them the wrong bank account (I have 2) ~ they attempted to push the payment multiple times running up nearly $100 in fees. It was my error so took that one on the chin, called them and gave them correct account. As I said budget was thrown off another payment came through and one of the payments didn't clear. Again - my error, however I immediately called them, requested to re-run the payment - they would not and closed one of my credit cards.
I went online and made my payment which did clear. Not only did they close one card ~ they offered a balance increase on the other which made zero sense to me. They immediately reported card to credit bureaus which then tanked my credit. Frustrated at this point, but it is what it is. They then removed my online access so I can't even log in for the card that is STILL active to make my payments. I have not refused to make payments, didn't say I wouldn't pay off the account they closed, nothing.
Within a day or so the calls start - 8am until 8/9pm all day long from multiple numbers. Easily between 8-10 calls a day all day every day. Initially I did answer - they wanted payment on the account they closed - advised I will make my payment but not that day. The calls continued. I did call them after a couple of weeks - made a payment on the account that was still open and small one towards the one they closed. I asked the gentleman if he could help me log on and he was unable to. TWO DAYS I had silence and the calls started again. In addition received a bill (which is fine at this point) ~ stating my next payment due was triple the normal payment.
So ~ they close the account, they remove my online access, want to tell me next payment is triple the normal amount, AND call me 7 days a week 8+ times a day from multiple numbers. This has been going on for a little over month - yes a month. Prior to that mix up - there were no issues. No exaggeration on the call amounts - if I were able to upload screenshots of my call log I would.
This is absolutely ridiculous. I am fully aware of the mistake I made & attempted to correct it. It is within their right to close my account - I accept that too. To then remove my online access which I've always made my payments by & call me non-stop all day long 7 days a week is ridiculous. Just stop the non-stop calls - it would help this situation so much for both sides. I have multiple credit cards and this is the only one that is behaving this way ~ steer clear if possible. As I said - initally it was great - would have given it 5 stars and agreed with others. However, it has turned into a nightmare and what they seem to forget is they are doing this to a STILL CURRENT CUSTOMER ~ however, rest assured as soon as my second card is paid off ~ I will be closing that account myself.

Now I'm thinking how.... It's crazy I don. Didn't need any funding. I'm doing good with income so no need to spend unnecessary from card. Somehow my card balance was low. I called and I was told they didn't see anything suspicious on it as if it the activity been erased. Sounds nuts I know. Then I went on to ask for a replacement as I wasn't getting anywhere trying to explain to them how 96 dollars has just been taken out of my account. It's been 3 weeks since then. Today (1-12-23) I called to see the status. They wanted my SS#.
I don't feel comfortable giving my personal digits simply because of identity fraud has happened to me in past. Meanwhile on app my card number changed but there's no way of actually getting access to the 16 digit numbers as they only have just the 4 last digits showing...Like most credit card companies they provide you with access to your card until your physical card comes. So I'll just pay off my little balance and cancel the card because it's suspicious activity going on. Why they can't just send out a replacement then on top of my mysteriously missing money they charged 25 dollars for replacement fee. So my account balance is even lower. Making my credit utilization more usage than less. Never had issues with credit card company than this. Never again will I use them.

Credit One Credit should not be advertised or recommended by credit bureaus. As a card to use to build credit. The payment policy is ridiculous and has you set up to fail. It takes 7 to 10 days for a payment to process and post to your account. So even if your payment is made 4 to 5 days before it's due. You run the risk of it being late even though it will show it's processing. You have to pay to have it immediately posted to the account. This in addition to high interest rate and annual fees.
Most credit card companies I have dealt with. Usually 24 to 48 hrs your payment is processed and credit to your account giving the customer the true opportunity to build credit. And not create pitfalls to trip a person up along the way by having a subprime payment system. That is equal to going back to a time when payments were sent by mail. This credit card should not be offered with the intent it helps people build credit. With the payment process being so substandard and customer service be exceptionally TRASH.

Here we are 3 days later no letter. I still have no letter. I keep calling and they're giving me the run around. I got this card to rebuild my credit. Paid their ridiculous annual fee and used the card a couple of times. I missed ONE $30 payment as I had Covid. I continually communicated with them over the course of 10 days, set up a $150 payment. I paid and then they cancelled my card. I had it a total of 2 months. Paid them the $75 fee plus $150. The card still has a $225 balance on it and only had a $300 limit to begin with. Fee after fee will be charged for this card. It’s a terrible card to have, there are others out there to rebuild credit. My credit was only bad due to student loan debt and no credit cards or credit card debt, so I needed a card. Now the next day I get an email my bills overdue and they applied a late fee. So one day late you get a fee even if you paid the day the bills due and it shows on your balance. If they were honest there would be no fees applied if you paid on time. They think they can give, print this stuff and people just accept it. You'd be better off getting a loan from the mob. The interest rates would be lower but not only that they find a way to tap on an extra 30 some odd dollars on you for saying and pay the bill on time. When I clearly paid it the day before like I always do even adding in then I didn't pay it the day before and it would have been 10 minutes late it would have been paid after 5:45. If I had paid it on the day they said I did which I didn't and because of the 10-minute difference they want to add on 30 some odd dollars. I intend to pay this bill off with everything but the 30 some odd dollars cut up the card and announce to the world to watch them.
They are scam company. You can't get a human on the phone. You going to rotational lines for at least a half an hour and then when you finally do find the way to get him and on the phone don't suck too. These people are scam artists. They're like the guy that had the payday loans running them off of the Indian reservation so he didn't have to abide by US statutes and he's getting away with bleeding people dry. I applied and received a credit one bank credit card back in August this year. In October I paid the card off in full and changed my address. No one notified me of a block or any type of identity verification requirement until 8 days after they blocked my card and I called in because I was declined when trying to use it. They claimed it was for identity verification and my account was flagged for fraud. Since when is fraud paying a card balance off in full? ($995). They requested me to send W2, a UTILITY BILL to show my address, license/ID. I sent these items over a month ago and was told because I don’t have a W2 I don’t meet the requirements for identity verification. I explained I was on disability and I also then had to send my passport. Still no communication from them about why the card was blocked or when it will be unblocked.
I was told 7-10 days almost a month ago now and no one follows up or follows through like they said they would (a manager would call me back once the documents were approved) it has literally been almost 2 months now that they have blocked my account and a month since I sent them my personal information. Makes me suspicious and think they are selling my personal information because they aren’t using it to verify my identity clearly. They told me my income verification from the federal government isn’t good enough (benefit verification letter). I feel like I’m being scammed. Is this even a legitimate company? October 7 they blocked me and had their documents 2 weeks later shortly after I find out my account. Is blocked because my purchase was declined at a store. Still no documentation of an identity verification. The company refuses to email me any of this or put anything in writing. Illegal activity here and big red flags!

Upon review, my account was charged the 'monthly' portion of the annual fee...plus interest... WHEN? you ask, "Oh the charge was on 11/17/22." Customer Service stated (called 11/18/22), that my account status was 'closed', WHEN? you ask, "Oh 6:05 PST on...11/18/22." Are you kidding me. They left the account open just long enough to charge the fee one last time and then force me to deal with it.
This is actually a really sad thing, cause if you asked me before this, I would have given them 5 stars. Not cause they are great but because they are what they say they are. You pay to get your credit rating established or re-established. That was a reasonable arrangement for a looong time... I paid this annual fee. And it worked. So if you read this far...keep notes. I have been a customer of Credit One Bank credit card services for a year. I’ve read reviews with Consumer Affairs and completely disagree with many others. Do as you’ve agreed from the onset. I pay before the due date, have never had any issues and I’ve never gone over the credit limit! It’s that simple. It’s highly recommended to take advantage of their credit protection program as well. In the time I’ve had a Credit One credit card, I’ve been offered a second card with a huge credit increase and a huge interest rate decrease. The mobile app is great! It’s very simple to use to see your transactions, watch your balance or pay your bill. It’s equally as simple to reach customer service by phone if needed. I’ve called customer service twice in 1 year and there’s never a wait time. They’re extremely courteous and efficient! What more could one ask?
Also, cash back purchases most often offset the interest accrued so take advantage of those when one can. There’s a little more work involved to see who offers cash back but it’s worth the few minutes it takes to look. They’re available for viewing and redeeming right on the app. Oftentimes I’ll pay more than 1 payment at intervals during a single month. At one point, I attempted to pay more individual payments but had reached their payment limits for the month. Yes, there is an individual payment limit per month but I prefer to make the payments in the event I’m ever in an emergency situation and need to use the card. They’ll only accept 5 payments in a 1 month period, just fyi. How is there to be any issue? Simply put, there aren’t issues. Hold up your end of the agreement made upon origination and there’ll never be a problem.
I also avoid large interest payments by making larger payments than the minimum amount due before the due date and/or paying the balance in full. Bottom line, pay as little as the minimum due before or on the due date right on the mobile app and there will never be a problem. I’d suggest more but that’s just me. They offer 2 ways to pay on the mobile app. They’ll do an express payment from a debit card (my preferred route) and it’s immediately applied or they’ll do an ACH hold with your bank, just don’t use the amount you’ve set aside to be deducted. It’s super simple and an extremely easy, streamlined app. It appears to me that people complaining about their experiences probably didn’t meet the required standards of any credit agreement, regardless of the card issuer. I can think of no other reason why there would be a problem. Don’t be that person and you’ll have no reason to complain. The rewards of your diligence will come!

I have not had any issues per se with my credit one American Express card… I went almost 10 years without using credit and although had absolutely no bad credit and paid all my bills on time on my house, free and clear, and all of my vehicles etc with a strong net worth I ultimately learned my credit score was below 600 or at 580 when it used to be 800… It took me over a year to get it back up and I was dumb enough to get the credit one American Express card. Now I’ve never carried a balance and I even used it heavily making sure each month it reported zero… The funny thing is they gave me a $500 initial limit and the day I received the card and activated it. They increased it up to $650. I’ve had it for 11 months now and have received no other increases nor have I requested an increase.
I would not recommend this card even to somebody with struggling credit there are other ways to improve your credit. Do not get a credit one card, unless you’re willing to be stuck in their bubble & speak fluent Indian or whatever language native to their customer service department. They made a couple mistakes that were very difficult communicating to get them to correct although fortunately, it did not affect my credit score which now finally is almost back to 800 again, but the only reason my credit score was able to go up that high in less than two years is because, I had no bad credit and I do have a above average income and above average net worth, and I did have previous good credit which I struggled, believing that isn’t factored in somehow, as the credit reporting agencies are intentionally evasive and incredibly complicated as there truly is no individual anywhere who truly knows and understands how they work or what truly causes a credit score. It’s one of those insane mysteries that hopefully one day will be done with, and we’ll move on to a more honest logical system for society.
If you’re looking to get Credit One, don’t. It is not even close to being like an American Express. The only similarity is the name and may be a couple of worthless so-called discounts you get that are mostly not real or they are discounts you can get without getting the credit one amex any credit one account. Capital one maybe… They are a bit better but again every individual is different. I would just discourage everyone from getting credit one. It will cost you $40-$70 a year for a ridiculously high interest rate if you carry a balance since I don’t carry any balances, I don’t care what the interest rate is. I wish there was a way to keep a good credit score without having to have any open credit cards. I hate the things lol.

I have had a Visa card with this bank for 2 years. Recently my card became damaged. I called to get a replaced, only to hear first it would cost $22 then I called to report it stolen so I could speak with a human. I explained I have the card saved in my Google Pay Wallet as a virtual card but that I had now misplaced the damaged card. I got a rude lecture from some outsourced young foreign accented male (young as my grandkid probably), about it's my responsibility to take care of the card, when I explained I called the lost line in hope of avoiding what I feel is an excessive charge.
After all My bank charges $5, and offers a free replacement every 2 years because cards wear out, I told him. Nor had I ever requested a new card. No such luck here. One card on sign up and a fee for a replacement regardless of why you need it. And then I was told after this rude lecture it was $25! Therefore I gave him my opinion: that this was a very, very bad business practice and the charge is excessive, outlandish and predatory. To which he rudely replied " so anything else?" I'm appalled by this interaction. I will continue with my virtual card. So glad I saved it to my virtual wallet. Still I plan to pay it off and cancel it by my anniversary date before renewal fees apply again.
Also I question if other charges and interest fees many mention are even legal. Interest charged on annual fees, interest on late fees and interest on fees in general don't sound ethical nor legal. Fees to increase one's credit line also. Avoid the entanglement keep shopping for a credit card bank.

I am no stranger to Credit cards. I currently have this Visa Card and am in the process of canceling it.. This Platimum Visa is one you don't want even if you want to rebuild credit as it won't help in that regards. It only reports to the credit bureaus about once every 2-3 months. It's so-called free credit report is highly inaccurate because they don't update it very often.
It's also EXTREMELY slow at processing your payments and then returning those amounts to available credit. It frequently takes 2-3 weeks after an electronic payment has been made before you are credited for it. So if you are a bill payer who generally pays just on time, be prepared for hassles with this company. Then it can take another 2 weeks to have that paid amount to be reapplied as available credit. You will often see your overview balance showing incorrectly that they have processed the payment and new available credit only to have your next purchase refused due to it not yet being available for use. I have argued with their staff numerous times that their available credit often lags up to a month behind when payments are made. They just claim you actually made your payments weeks after you really did.
Their customer service is by mail or phone only. And their website and app gets more and more restrictive each quarter. Their website frequently gives you errors that a contact option or menu selection from their own site is not valid. And if after waiting sometimes over an hour on phone for customer support, you will likely get a foreigner who can't speak your language well enough to even communicate. And they are seldom more than talking rule quoters or verbal FAQs. Their main goal is clearly not to assist you.
If you have a merchant do a refund on a purchase to this card and it puts your balance over $0, you will find it very difficult to get them to approve any purchase for the credit limit plus your now positive balance. The same applies to overpaying them too. For instance, if you have a $300 credit limit and a $0 balance and a merchant refunds a past $150 balance to your account, they only consider your new available credit as $150 (the amount you overpaid). If you call them and argue about this lunacy, they'll agree to send you a check for the overpay but your full available credit remains off till then. I've gone round and round with them on that.
They also have declined my purchases when the amount is fully within credit limits. When I call to ask them, they give a speech about protecting the account from what they say they thought was a "suspicious" purchase. It's their excuse for "we don't know why we declined it". Also even though I have got a pin code from them, the card has never worked in any ATM machine I've ever tried (and I've tested many). When you call them, their response was to "use the card at a bank to get the funds". So don't count on ever getting to use the tiny cash limit they say you have.
Also be aware that the average customer gets a $300 credit limit but has to pay high yearly fees for this card and high monthly interest as well. The only way to stave off the high interest rate is to constantly attempt to pay off the entire balance and keep your balance to less than 30% of the credit limit. Go over this 30% or get dinged for them setting on your payments for weeks at time and you'll find this card and company will generally cost you far more credit points rather than increase it.
I am now trying to cancel this card and am getting excuse after excuse as to why they do not get it done. 1st they of course want the balance to be at $0. But then if you don't get the amount just exactly right to the penny, they'll tell you they will mail a check to clear the balance. (I got a 32 cent check and it took weeks.) Then they tell me that that balance has changed again without new transactions and here we go again.
I regret getting involved with Credit One. They might be in Vegas but all the support I have ever received was people in a foreign country. As soon as I get them to accept the magic number to close this account and to return the remaining funds, I'm no longer going to do business with them. And of course cancelling a CC also hurts your credit, so getting their card did me no favors. I would advise anyone considering them to rethink it and see the other reviews of them. They are not the way you want to try to rebuild your credit.

Each month I noticed different "fees" and would ask why my printed bill would say total amount due but when I call on the phone to pay the full amount there was another "fee" that could not be explained. I stopped using the card, then when my daughter relocated, I used the card. AGAIN, received printed bill for total bill amount, called on due date and paid total amount. Called two days later to make sure my balance was zero because of issues in the past and BAM, I was told I owed $54 because I paid my bill at 8:30pm on the due date and not 5:30pm!
I requested a courtesy fee waived and representative said yes but I still owed $10 for a pending charge and then I would be at zero balance, but the charge needed to be completed before payment and the courtesy fee would take up to 24 hours to 72 hours to be waived. I called back to pay the $10 to zero my balance 4 days later and my "fees" went from $10 to $24 plus the $30 late fee that was not removed and per the representative was not recorded. I went off along with my husband! We stayed on the phone for over an hour asking where did the extra $13 come from and the representative keep giving us the run around while I am asking, "Why is there a $13 "fee"? What is this within 4 days when I was told only $10?" I paid the $24 and ask for the card to be cancelled.
I was then transferred to a "specialist" that offered me $200 extra on my credit line which I declined, and she said, "With the increase credit line of $500 you will not need to cancel your credit card. We will keep the line of credit open for you and we will waive the annual fee for 6 months." I again said, "NO CANCEL THIS CARD!" Then she said, "I have cancelled your card but look at your next bill because your billing cycle started two days ago and there are daily charges on your account that you will have to pay." I YELLED "WHAT? THEN WHAT ARE THE CHARGES? AND WHY?"
The representative said, "I am not sure." I am like, "But it is ZERO balance. What more do I have to pay, you said two days daily interest. What is it so I can pay it and be done with Credit One!" The representative replied, "You will have to wait until you receive your statement." I said I closed this account already but haven't used it in at least 3, maybe 4 years, which is why I closed them to begin with along with Fraud getting pretty bad. I asked him to please reverse whatever charge they gave me and close this acct for real this time. He put me on hold to research my acct. He said they'd reverse the charge and he'd close my acct for real. Now he did close the account but didn't reverse the charge.
I get alerted yesterday about my score dropping with credit one as the creditor I called credit one's customer service and spoke to a supervisor Markel who transferred me by request to a manager. Al was the manager who ended up assisting me. She said she reverse the charges but it may take up to 72 hours to reflect. I asked if she could remove it from my credit report, she said credit bureaus are who usually deals with credit issues so contact them and she gave me a Las Vegas .p.o box to send in a dispute credit one as well. I would really like more effort put into fixing this issue due to the fact that I only had an annual fee on one of my 2 accts with credit one and that's the acct I called to close the accounts originally in march last year 21' for the very same reason, annual fee.
I just decided to close both of them because right then so I didn't have to worry about it plus I was mad about the hit to my credit even though this was supposed to be taken care of. It seems the annual fee was removed but acct left open and accrued another annual fee while the one without the fee was actually the acct closed. Desired Outcome/Settlement. Desired Settlement: Correction to a credit report. None Provided.

There are many bad reviews, however, follow the rules and everything will be just great, high fees, what do you expect, you have bad credit, but if you pay it off every month no problem, the best way to make a payment is make payments through online banking, otherwise your payment will be held a few days to clear. Use it every month for small things and pay it off every month, that’s how you will get ahead. Those that have bad reviews are those that are not working the system smart, after your credit get straight, close the account if you choose to and get a regular card. This card will work if you abide by the rules and stay ahead of the game.

They responded, "Sorry you are having such a rough time. When can we expect a payment." Never in my life have I been so furious at the inhumane conversation. Received the Card a couple of months ago. Used it a few times. Paid it off before the due date $300 to 400 dollar payments at a time. Called customer service close the card, I told them the annual fee was too high. Customer service rep talked me into keeping the card after raising my credit limit to $500. And said I wouldn’t be charged any fees and so I agreed to keep the card. Made another $110 charge on the card to pay my AAA bill.
Paid half of the balance off before the due date like $75. Try to use the card again another day and a card would not work so I called customer service. They said the card has been shut down for fraud so I told them to send me the final bill then I would close the card and pay the bill off so I did receive the final bill for $75.33 and I called them to pay the bill and they tell me now that the card has been turned over to collections. The card was never late. How is that possible??
I told them to explain to me how that is even possible and the card was never late so the rep transferred me over to another department which said they were closed so I just wrote them a letter and mailed them a check for the full amount and told them to close the card. Sent the cut up card back to them. This is the worst credit card company I’ve ever dealt with. Seems like the right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing. They tell you all kinds of wrong answers and misinformation. I would recommend this company to anyone. I hope this review will keep other people from applying for this card. To be continued….

We made a payment to our credit card in the amount of $510 on August 21, 2022 from the same account and method all our previous payments have been made. Credit One accepted and posted this payment. On the app, it shows our credit available being $489. There was no correspondence to us nor did we receive our money back. However, we tried to use the card today to get supplies for a coming hurricane and there is a block on our card.
We called and found out that the last payment we made was flagged "suspicious" which was a system error. Now they are telling us 1 month later after already accepting and posting the payment we have to "validate" what was once again already accepted and posted by supplying them with our bank statement. Fine no problem, BUT they tell us it will take 3-5 or 7-10 business days. We don't have that long. For anyone who has faced a category 3 hurricane, you know the urgency in having to be prepared. The only compliment I can pass along is that they have attractive card designs. Things got even worse when I called one day because of them erroneously reporting me as 30 days late on a payment, further damaging my already abysmal credit score. They then told me they're also closing my account because of a few returned payments, DESPITE the fact that I have always paid on time and have regularly gotten my account balance to zero. While sobbing on the phone to customer service they told me I couldn't do anything to stop them from closing the account, and that it couldn't be reinstated either. This company is so predatory and they can't even do the bare minimum for the well-disciplined customers like me.

Their response was to restrict my account making the card unusable. If you don't pay to make the payments they don't post even if your money is in your account it will still show as insufficient funds if you use standard payment method. After three times of the payment being returned they will close your account after jacking up the interest rate and you will continue to make payments on an account that's closed and with a high interest rate and not ever be able to use it. I watched them tell me my payments were returned while watching my bank account and seeing them never even post while funds were there they would never even showed pending until I paid to make the payment via live payment. It's a scam. Yes, I understand that you must pay a horrible interest rate, and a ridiculous annual fee with Credit One Bank. They're taking a risk if your credit score is not high. However, you may be one of those that WANTS to build good credit AND pay on time. But their bank seems to do things in a way that seems like they're TRYING to make you fail. Unfortunately for me, I'm one of those people that DEPENDS on getting a statement. Get my statement to me, and I'll pay consistently. They couldn't do it regular mail, so I went paperless. That didn't work either. I just got online to see when my payment is due, and lo and behold... it was due three days ago. And imagine that, I got NOTHING telling my payment was coming up. Guess going paperless means going statement-less too.
It's not hard to see they do these things purposely. They don't notify me I have a payment coming up, then they stick it to me with a $29 LATE FEE. NOT TO MENTION THAT'S A NEGATIVE MARK ON MY CREDIT SCORE. THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF WHAT I'M TRYING TO ACHIEVE!! Just think, if they can do that to a million people, they make $29,000,000.00... and not do a thing for it.
If you're thinking about getting a Credit One bank credit card... STOP. I have two other cards I've qualified for. They notify me far in advance when I have a payment coming. And then they remind me the day before. And they both DO NOT have an annual fee, and better rates. And think about this, Credit One constantly inundated me with junk mail, for years, to get my business. The carbon footprint that all the mail trucks leave to deliver their junk mail is staggering. Now combine that with the TONS of paper that go into the landfills. So not only are they screwing me with bogus late fees to fill their pockets; they're screwing Mother Earth by polluting the environment. Going paperless... What a joke. They can't even do that right.

First off if there was zero mark I would’ve gave them so that one star is not my true feelings. This won’t be short ok. I’m a apologize upfront but it’s all facts. They are quick to add fees just cause you looked at the card (the card is phony anyways). I had it for 3 months with a pitiful $300 limit (I’m starting over don’t judge me) and I used it 3x total. First monthly payment my bank account couldn’t link with them which isn’t my fault, as they state “We will send micro deposits to verify your account”. How convenient. These ** would get the .10 an .03 to me the day my bill is due. So I’m late. Next month I noticed my $300 limit is saying $370 (not limit) so I calls them and tell them exactly what happened and honestly I couldn’t tell you what they said cause you can’t understand them. I mean they’re most likely in a tent in Bangladesh.
Regardless the second month I pay the $5 for it to go thru instantly like it’s cause that’s why you pay the extra money you’d figure. So 5 days go by and I get an email saying there was insufficient funds so guess there’s another 4 to 13 different fees adding up. Once again I called those folks and tried to explain to them Their own policies but they don’t know what I’m talking about.
Long story short which is a little late for that I canceled the card and all of a sudden I got 400 and some dollar bill which the guy I canceled it with was trying to give me a credit limit increase to 500 which I told him to kick rocks and he told me that there would be no fees added on unless If I canceled my card. I’m sure you can guess they lied so my experience was miserable. Not saying you as will be but just pay attention. They got a fee for everything if you stay on hold too long. They bill your phone company if you talk why they’re talking. They bill big bill bill bill bill. Thanks for reading this if you did and if not that’s cool too. I’m a man. Honesty is very important to me so please believe everything I’m saying in this.

I've had this card for a little over a year. When I initially signed up, I was charged a $75 fee plus a $99 fee ALL AT ONCE. This is crazy being, the limit was only $500. Never even used the card at the time by the way. As soon as I activated it, I downloaded the app and there were the fees. Didn't really have a lot of money but I paid it piece by piece. Worst mistake. The fees on this card is astronomical!! I kept getting hit with $30 fees every time I logged in because of interest. If you don't pay the statement balance in full, you have will come to regret it. Also, I recently noticed a charge on my account that I didn't authorize. I don't even use this card anymore and don't know where it is so where did this charge come from? They also charge a monthly maintenance fee of $8 on top of the other fees.
Another issue I had was that they don't want to approve you for a credit line increase on the same card. I waited a year to apply and they told me I didn't have my card long enough for an increase. Yeah right. I got a credit line increase of $500 in 6 months at another company which is the standard if you consistently make on time payments. Not to mention, I have NEVER missed a payment, they were always on time. Moving on, they magically send me another pre-approved card letter with a $800 credit limit urging me to accept, telling me it was a credit line increase. It was not. It was just another card.
So really, I would have had two cards and guess what? More fees!! When my credit started to go up because of my other cards, they tried again and sent me an offer for a card with a $1,000 balance. Of course I refused. I was approved for 3,500 at Discover when I couldn't even get an increase at a company I have been with for over a year. I wish I never got this scam of a card. I don't even use it. Now I'm stuck paying monthly maintenance fees for a card I never use. Go anywhere else.

Credit One would then report the new 2 day old fraudulent charges in their notes and to the credit agency as months late. When I attempted call to find out why I was being charged ridiculous amounts, despite having NO balance and NOT utilizing my card? Or attempt to pay online(to avoid additional charges). The Credit One agent would get upset and locked my account, report false late payments statements to my credit and suspend my account.

I checked my account info and everything looked fine. No notifications that it was closed. Nothing on my overview showed the account was closed. I tried using the chat bot. But the chat bot didn't do anything. It was frozen and just said "Credit One is typing..." forever. So I called the customer service and got someone in India. She said my account was closed because a payment I made didn't go through. I was never contacted in any way.
I make payments regularly so I'm never late. But because this particular payment didn't go through, they closed my account? I have also been receiving emails from Credit One saying I was eligible for a limit increase. But in order to get the increase, I would have to pay a fee. I said "screw that!" Ripoff! I have called several times, each time speaking with a different person. The first person I spoke with said that I would receive my refund of $300 in 3 weeks. I said this was unacceptable and I requested to speak with a manager. The manager informed me that the information given was not correct and that I should receive my refund in seven business days. When I call back again a few days later. I was told that I would not receive my refund for 30 to 60 days.
When I asked for a supervisor, I got disconnected. I called back. I was able to cancel the card, this only takes seven days to cancel, when I asked about my refund of $300 again, I was told it would take 30 to 60 days. I was transferred to four different people. One supervisor, manager and senior manager all with the same story. Credit One Bank only took two days for the onset of the application process to take my money from my account and now they are telling me that it will take 30 to 60 for them to return my money back to my account. I started noticing that my balance wasn't going down on the Visa but instead going up even though I paid more than the minimum and a head of the due date. The Master Card had an earlier due date each month than the Visa Card had, so I started sending both payments at the same time in their own envelopes. Still the Visa would show a late payment charge to it.
Next I sent the Visa payment by certified mail, the certified card came back unsigned and there was again a late charge on the card. This time I mailed both card payments in the same envelope and the MC was received but for some unknown reason the VC payment wasn't there. I called them about a week later and they said that they got the payment but it was late. I hung up the phone on them but called a few days later and got both card pay off balances. I took out enough money from my savings account a paid off both cards. While I’m sure this card may help those with bad credit, I only got it to use at gas stations while traveling. I made a payment on the card and everything seemed fine. About 10 days later I went to use the card again and it was denied. I called customer service and found out they had placed a block on my card, not allowing me to charge anything OR make anymore payments.
I was told that this block was put in place because they thought my payment was fraudulent and would now require one of two things to unblock my account. 1) Provide them with an unredacted monthly bank statement PDF, meaning that I’m supposed to send them my bank statement with all of my charges and copies of my checks. The statement must also include the payment I made to CreditOne. Or 2) a letter from my bank on their letterhead with my account information, full name, and a statement saying that my payment to CreditOne was not fraudulent.
I’ve never had dealings with a company that calls a payment fraudulent and requires me to prove that it wasn’t but at the same time accepts that payment (it posted fine to CreditOne…and they’re still holding it). It’s sketchy at best. I couldn’t get a straight answer from CreditOne as to why there was a hold on my account. Best I could figure is it’s random and occurs so that they can get more financial fees and interest out of their customers. You’re at their mercy when you get a hold placed. Even if I am able/willing to get this personal bank information to them it will still take them 3-14 business days to let me back into my account. By that time…they’ve already charged their fees.
It goes without saying that I will be canceling this card as soon as I’m given access back to it, but wanted to give everyone a heads up about the scam they’re running. Know that it doesn’t matter if you pay on time or if your account is in good standing. It’s a random fraud alert they put onto your card that prevents you from making charges and making payments, so you can’t rely on the card since it can be shut down at any time. I’ve reported to the BBB and Ic3.gov.

They even charge for a credit lint increase that they offer to you. I accepted a card, almost a month later I still don't have my card but they manage to put a $95.00 fee on it already, again I don't even have my card yet and it's been almost a month and since I don't have my card thus I can't activate the card.
When you call them, it's going to somewhere in India so chance of you getting anything done is slim. I called them asking for a new card and was told that USPS couldn't deliver to my address and send the card back. They said appears the address was wrong, so I ask them to delete the fees since it's been a month and I still don't have my card and you're putting a fee on their that's 10% of the card's credit line. The answer was: it's not our fault the address was incorrect. So I ask the representative if I am mailing you a piece of mail, the address was incorrect. Was that the sender's fault or was it the receiver's fault when all the info on the account is correct?
Their agent also lied to me trying to tell me how USPS reached out to me to tell me they could not deliver my mail. Let's be real, USPS does not reach out to anyone other than when you have a piece of certified mail when they need a signature. They don't contact you or call you for anything! Let me break down to you EVERYTHING you need to know and my experience for those considering to be involved with this card company and their options of cards. I was recommended the “Platinum” card through Credit Karma as a “build credit” card so I proceeded to apply with them. Approval and registration process was simple with the company, and BOY OH BOY I should’ve known from the jump with the APR the crap show I was about to experience with this company (details of the specific card I had below).
23.99% Variable Monthly Purchase APR (WSJ Prime + 20.74%)
$39 Annual Fee
$5.00 or 8% Cash Advance Fee (whichever is greater)
I opened this account December 2020. I only used it for emergency purchases such as gas, food, or any other necessities. I was given a $2,000 credit limit but only used at the MOST $300. (I’m not a fan of credit cards nor the credit system but THAT is another rant for another day). I’ve never missed a payment and was always on time, even with losing employment because of COVID-19. THIS IS WHERE IT GETS AGGRAVATING.
When approaching the date for the amount due OR if you’re even ONE DAY behind scheduled payment, customer service will BLOW your phone up to get in contact with you to make SURE you pay in full the amount. And let you NOT answer the phone because of, oh I don’t know, WORKING YOUR 9 TO 5, God forbid HANDLING EMERGENCIES, you know the usual DAILY TASKS, they will KEEP calling. It got to the point where I HAD TO BLOCK their customer service number — 1 (877) 825-3242 — on my phone, oooooh but it gets BETTER. I guess with them getting the memo that I had them BLOCKED they got all FANCY and started calling me off of DIFFERENT AREA CODES.
I live in South Florida so our area codes are 954, 786, 305, 754, 561, to name a few, and on my Caller ID it would show up as a wireless caller. Of course I don’t think anything of it and answer the phone because I’m used to getting inbound calls from the specified area codes, and sure enough it's a “representative” from the card company ON THE OTHER LINE. These numbers that they would call me from to list a few and LITERALLY this is JUST A FEW — (754) 336-2120, (786) 673-0080, (954) 656-2886 (give ‘em a call and tell ‘em I’m putting them ON FRONT STREET) — I would immediately BLOCK. OOOOOH, IT GETS BETTER. Somehow they STILL find a way to RING MY LINE WITH THOSE SAME NUMBERS by SPOOFING.
I became FED THE ** UP and the next call that came through WHOEVER was on the other line was going to receive all the RAGE I had built up from them because it was EFFING HARASSMENT at this point and sure enough my line said “ring-ring” and it was GO TIME. I told the representative - IRA - WHO has been the CONSISTENT REPRESENTATIVE for 2022 (because 2021 it was multiple people), about herself, the card company, the way they BOTH go about their customer service, and how if she continues to call me in the manner she does, I WILL FLIP ALL MY ** LOOSE ON HER. ITS EFFING ABSURD, is what I ended with. Ask me if I’ve gotten a call since putting HER in check. Phone been quiet. Did I mention the emails were just as the same? Ask me if I’ve been receiving any SINCE I did the same exact thing over the phone via email. You would think they unsubscribed me they damn self.
I’m already in the process of closing my account with them. This credit card company is BY FAR THE WORST IN ALL ASPECTS. I wouldn’t recommend them to ANYONE. Do yourself the favor, spare yourself the HEADACHE, and DO NOT get an account with them. Try Petal Card or American Express, both to which have exceptional customer services and protection. CREDIT ONE BANK CAN **.

Had an AMEX account and attempted to schedule a payment on April 7th for a later date but went past the date calendar and attempted to cancel but the payment posted immediately and called to see if they could cancel on their end and was told that they could not and I was instructed to contact my bank to have the payment refused.
My Bank said they would attempt to refuse payment but it had already posted and so I had to dispute the charge to have the funds returned to my bank account. I followed up with Credit One Bank to let them know that I had to dispute that payment but would be making payment in full on the 14th. I then received an email on April 13th stating my AMEX account had been closed. I called asking why and that I was going to make payment as promised on the 14th but was told I would need to submit a statement from my bank and a letter to why the payment was being disputed. REALLY????
I then attempted to make an online payment to my other account and could not saying the account had been suppressed. SO I called AGAIN... and was told for security reasons they would need a statement from my bank regarding payment so the account could be released. I then told her to close both accounts. This is totally unacceptable business practice.

I applied for this card when my credit was just miserable. I don't believe I was above 550. I received the card and started making purchases and paying them off immediately. Now remember, not only are you paying back your bills and any interest, but you are also paying almost $10 just to have the card. Not exactly easy for someone who is obviously in bad financial shape.
They pretend to be looking out for you and getting your credit up. As with most businesses, I find this to be lacking. I had this card for over 5 years while having moved on to other cards with much better returns. So, I can say, it did raise my credit. Well, it gave me the opportunity to. I had paid off this whole card, but they continued to charge the $10. I tried multiple times to call and cancel the card, but they transfer 5 times (not an exaggeration) and repeatedly tell you that if the call gets dropped, you the card won't be cancelled. There are no other options to cancel the card, even online in the site. After 5 years of repeated attempts, I accepted that this is just a price I will pay for getting myself into the hole I did.
I missed my first payment in those 5 years this week. I forgot, honest mistake. Saturday morning, my cell phone and work phone both have 4 missed calls from 8am to 11am. I called the company furious, telling them if I did not get this cancelled I would be looking into other channels and contacting the Better Business Bureau. The rep was very smug and asked if I could afford the $20 (with additional late payment) on my account which I happily provided to him. Magically, my card is now cancelled... after 2 additional transfers to 2 people trying to get me to stay on with free months. I told them I know it is not their fault, their company disgusts me and I do not want them to receive another dollar from me.
In summation, the card can work for what it says it does, but they are looking to take advantage of people with no money. If I had messed up when I began with the card, I imagine I would have had multiple missed calls every single day until it was resolved. No one should go through that stress and no company should put people through it. Pros: It worked. It probably cost me way more money than it should have, but my credit is now in Excellent territory. Cons: Way too many to list, but the hoops you need to go through to get out of the card should be enough for you to look elsewhere.

I'd like to elect 0 stars. Credit One is the worst company. Fraudulent charges hit my account for months and months. Admittedly I should have watched my account much closer, however, when I discovered the charges, I was refunded within 24 hours. I have been fighting to get my money back (that I also and they owe me) for 6 weeks! Worst customer service, worst experience I have ever had with a company.

I went to pay my cards and without my knowledge they were closed. I have paid early and on time for the past 2 years. When I spoke to someone I was told that they couldn't do anything about it. This is after I tried to contact customer service several times via Facebook because you can not get a live person. Fine with me. I'll pay them off this week and be done with this high Apr. Wow. Thank goodness I don't have to deal with them.

I would give 0 stars if that was an option. Besides the absurd fees, the customer service could not be any more frustrating. I have not been able to connect to the app for over 2 months. I went to the website to try to access my account in fear I was being bombarded with late fees etc.. I could not access my account there either. Password recovery was painful and after all that, I was still unable to log in after setting a new password. I called customer support, firstly there were no menu options to speak to representative and every number listed on the customer support page goes to the same menu. I stayed on the line for maybe 10 minutes letting the menu options cycle and eventually my call was received overseas by a representative who would not even listen to my issues without announcing my full SS# over the phone (even though I had to enter it to even initiate the call).
I called again and asked to be connected to a supervisor. This process (the second call) took about 20 minutes. This representative was also unable to provide any useful information. This company will send a promo email nearly everyday but I have to jump through hoops to get someone on the phone. Completely unacceptable service.

I can't wait to get rid of this credit card! Every month I get back to back phone calls the day the bill is due. I tried explaining that I paid on the website and have a confirmation email, I am at work but will check once I get home later. I was constantly urged to go ahead and pay the bill over the phone now and that no payment went through. I repeated multiple times. I will double check once I get home, and to please not blow up my phone the day the bill is due. After discussing that I am at work some more and explaining again how I paid and the method I used, they hung up. So frustrating and unprofessional. I felt like I was dealing with a telemarketer. There was no previous option for auto pay.

Recently I have applied for a credit one credit card online thru credit Karma. I got approved for it at a 1,000 limit. However, every time I called up I could not hardly understand them (language barrier). I noticed that the interest rates was over the top so I decided to close both of my accounts and pay them thru the refinancing of my home. When I sent in the check from the escrow account they had reversed the accounts and ended up getting charged for late payments which reflected on my credit status. So I called them up and explained to them what happened and they did not want to give a credit of the late payment fees. I demanded they do and would not accept anything less.
Since then, I had to call them back up and wanted to be transferred to account services and the rep did not want to transfer me. So I was getting heated and he hung up on me, so I called back. Once I got transferred I finally got to the department that I needed and made the last payment of 961.05 So now I'm done with them and I really hope that no one else applies with them for credit. It's the worst customer service I have ever had to deal with. DO NOT APPLY WITH THIS COMPANY. YOU WILL REGRET IT.

This bank will give you a credit card and leave you alone but do not expect much in return. I urgently needed a letter stating my current credit card balance and the company could only snail mail me one or fax me one within 24-72 hours. They took the full 72 hours despite several calls to them. Capital One could email me one in 2 minutes. They seem behind in technology and the customer service suffers.

Things you need to know that I did not.
2. This is true even if you make your payment early. And charge something.
3. Put a hold on the card if not paid by due date.
These are things I found out this week. I had a zero balance and charged some tickets early this month (march). Called and got my balance and set up my next payment for april 8 to return to a zero balance. They informed me march 29 of these rules. I will keep the card but it will be the last one I use. Also when I first received the card to try it out I went to my local supermarket to purchase items for supper, their computer rejected the card 5 times. When I called customer service he said go anywhere but there and it can be used. It was so late by then. I called my wife to meet me for supper (good dinner), handed the card to the waitress to pay the bill, she came back and told me that it had been declined! Thank goodness I had my usaa card with me. I have had good service with this card in the past, I do not know what's wrong with them now.
