All payments I tried to make with Credit One except for 1 was declined, but credit one called demanding payment for all. So I asked them to send me a detailed brakedown sheet on all payments and all but 1 that was sent back to them was paid by other credit cards, I called them back and of course they are recording me so I turned the tables on them and recorded them with my android a14 phone built in feature! And after they tried to tell me I was double billed I told them I was recording them and they declined to speak. In the meantime I have all the evidence they are scamming me. They need to be shut down so what should I do next?

Don’t get this card! Open my online account to register one day and the very next day I had to charge an annual fee of $95 before I’ve even gotten my card in the mail. Spoke to the service representative and he stated I don’t use the card. It’ll be charged at the end of the year like a regular annual fee. A complete joke and fraud. Who charges an annual fee before the year is over. I can already see this card is going to be a mess so I do not plan to use it.

Closed credit card on me without having zero reason for it. I was never late, not one time! Messed up my credit when they abruptly closed the card as well. Credit score went down a whole 32 points, not cool. Especially because they had no reason and when I called, they couldn't do anything for me.

I had a credit card with this company for 3 months. Every step of the process to make a payment made me regret my choosing this company. It takes up to 5 days for them to pull the payment and about double for it post to the account. Then they called me at all hours of day and night even after the payments processed claiming it was not paid when I had proof it was. I called them to inquire why my balance was still negative and they closed my account without any notice. But welcomed me to apply again?

This credit card is one of the worst credit cards I have ever had. They charge random interest fees which that’s not how credit cards work. That is in your payment. When you make your payment they bill you for things you don’t sign up for. If you lose your card they charge you $25 for a new card which is outrageous. The yearly fee is astronomically high, it is the worst credit card you could ever sign up for. Never ever try for this credit card. Go to Capital One always!

This call center I dread every time I have to call, (this is not a one or two time occurrence literally over a span of at least 10 calls consistently getting the same thing) incompetent people who don't speak or understand English are tasked to help you. The same mundane questions are asked over and over again. If I wasn't in need of rebuilding credit, I would cancel this immediately. They are HORRIBLE. I asked to speak to someone else because the rep couldn't help me and she said you can call back and get someone. They are reading off a script and do not make sense, nor are trained to actually answer your questions or provide customer service or even a explanation of what they are saying because they do not even understand themselves!!. Altogether this company really sucks.

I was approved for a credit limit and while waiting for the card to come in the mail I did some more research and found a lot of disappointing information about this company. Once receiving the card I immediately cut the card up in small pieces and threw it away. A few weeks go by and I just received a bill in the mail for the annual rate. How are you going to send someone a bill when they haven't even activated the card much less used the card. So I call the customer service line and of course I get connected to someone that barely speaks English.
They tell just because a card was sent to me that the account is active and I'm responsible for the annual fee. I asked to close the account and they tell me they have to transfer me to a different department. After being on hold for a while someone picks up and says hello and immediately hangs up. This happen on 3 different occasions. Now I'm either forced to pay the amount or take legal action. In the enstate... AVOID this company. They are scam artist.

Pre approved for 2000$ limit, no annual fee but got a card with a 300$ limit with 100$ annual fee, called and said, "I don't want this card. It's not what I applied for and was approved for." Then they tried saying I owed them 100$. I guess for cancelling it? They kept trying to talk over me while I was pointing out there's no way I'm responsible for paying them the 100$. It was their mess up. Oh plus the hard inquiry on my credit! Feel like I'm getting punished for something bad they did.

I accepted an offer from this bank because it seemed to be an easy way to for me to build my credit. They increased my credit line quickly and I used it regularly and built up a balance but I also had a regular schedule for paying it off. A few weeks into paying it off, they started taking payments way later than I anticipated. It looked paid on my end but wasn't finalized until a day or two before my next payment. I had no idea they were getting bounced back until they closed my account. I called them about it and despite the fact that I was regularly paying my balance down and still paying despite not being able to use the card, they were unwilling to work with me. Every time I called I got people with accents who asked for tons of personal information too. I'm just gonna get rid of this card because Credit One is too sketchy.

I get a statement on 11/5 saying a balance of $49.50 for a charge on 10/8 for a Uber trip, which cost me $14.23 plus interest which was $41.17 plus fees of $8! The interest of 29.9 % should definitely be the first ⚠️ warning. Don’t use this card. I get the offer in the mail saying I pre-qualify for a $2,000 credit line. I apply and get approved....for $300. The paperwork that came with the approval for the Credit One Platinum card said there is no annual fee. This is the reason I accepted the offer. I make a purchase and when I check my statement online a week later, I see they charged me a $75 annual fee. Their website sucks and is hard to navigate.
Clicking on "Customer Service" in the "Online" menu just reloads the page. So I call and talk to "Lindsay" (Yeah right. So many Indian women named Lindsay). I told her about the charge and she said it was correct. I explained that the paperwork said "No Annual Fee". She basically repeated what she said before so I told her the reason I got the card was because there was no annual fee. She put me on hold (which was nice because I didn't want to hear all the other call center workers babbling in the background) and then came back and said she waived the $75 charge, but next year I will be charged the $99 annual fee. As if I'm going to keep this card until then. No way! After my one charge is paid off, I'm cancelling. If they attempt to charge a cancellation fee, I'll dispute it with my bank. Or maybe just close the account and open a new one so Credit One won't have my bank info.

So, I understand there were certain fees associated with opening this card. Unfortunately, when I tried to link it to my phone for easy access the process went from bad to worse. Card opening went easy, fast approval for an expensive alternative. My credit has taken a severe hit due to life, and this was only meant to be a quick fix. Set up failed when I tried to add the card to my phone. I was able to pay my bill and do a couple of charges. Once I paid it off in full, when I went to use my card, it had been locked out, by Credit One. They wanted additional banking information that they already had.
I wasn't about to do it again, so I asked them to cancel the card, I don't need additional problems in my life. The service rep pleaded with me to keep my card open after 5 or more request to cancel my card, I think he complied. But then I get an additional bill in the mail for $9.99. I paid my balance in full. What gives? I called them and he removed the charge which was fine. Then after the account is closed, I get two more charges, made after my closing the account, I paid them just to make sure this account was closed for good. I guess I'll have to wait and see. Don't do this and pay very close attention to your billing details if you do. Michael

I used to like Credit One and was a customer with them for almost 10 years. Went through a recent DV situation and had to file a BK. Accounts with them were paid off and in good standing prior. After the BK they approved another card with a fee and a lower credit limit, fine, but they wanted me to physically mail them personal documents for "security of my account" when I provided all the information over the phone and said I had no issue uploading online or emailing in but sending through the mail would be unacceptable as I would have to pay postage and make copies and go to a post office and what if it’s lost and now someone has copies of my ID and other personal information.
I was escalated to 3 different managers and they all refused to help and just kept repeating the same thing to mail my personal information. To Credit One you are just a number on a card and they don’t care how long you have been a customer. They don’t care to help you to keep your business and treat you like a criminal if you go through a hardship.

I have had this credit card for years and make on time payments and most payments were made in full. Only received a $350 increase. I also used my credit protection I've paid for since 2021, due to being on FLMA because of heart surgery and in turn they closed my account and reported it closed. They said so I can't use my card that the indurance was paying on but I paid for this service that went unused over 2 years. They also charged my account two $30 dollar late fees when the payment before activating my credit protection was on time and so was the payment made by credit protection.
They quickly remove these fees because they were dead wrong but then proceed to tell me the account would be closed for 6 months due to the credit protection benefit unless I cancelled and make my own payments. They made one payment 15 days ago lol, they proceed to tell me if I choose to cancel I can never sign up for the benefit again. Excuse me exactly who is benefiting when my account was closed over using a benefit I been paying for for a while. She even had the nerves to say it doesn't affect my credit but the account shows closed which absolutely affects it. Please steer clear of this card this company is company is a complete joke!

Do not use Credit One Bank credit card. They are the worst. They do not know how to process payments. You make a payment on that day they're supposed to take out the money from your account. They don't do that. They wait till whenever they feel like it and they take it out whatever they want to. You may have the money in your account at the time when you make the payment but by the time you get the payment process you know I'll have that money in your account because you thought you had already paid it but for some reason they say they can't. They can't do nothing about it. They are the worst. Do not use their Bank. Do not use your credit card at all. The worst.
I made a payment on the 19th. It should have been processed within 24 hours. The money should have been taken out of my account, at least put on hold. It wasn't. It was taken out on the 23rd which now made my account negative because they decided to post it on the 23rd. That is ridiculous. Payment on a 19th and processed on the 23rd. That's they're saying that I made the payment basically on the 23rd of this month not the 19th when I called and pay the extra $4.95 for instance to my account and it wasn't and it still hasn't been.
I have to now wait till the 25th of this month for my instant payment that was supposed to be done instantly on the 25th. I may just payment on the 19th of October and yet it's not instant. I still have to wait for them to process and take out more money out of my account which they've already done once and because of that now I'm negative because they did not take it out when they said they were going to take it out. I not even called to make sure this wouldn't happen and they told me everything was fine and it's not. Do not use them. They are the worst.

I opened this card to help rebuild my credit. I opened it with a modest $200 limit, which is exactly what I wanted at the time. After 6 months they doubled my credit limit without my asking, which I didn’t want. I went with it for a while, but am starting a new occupation and didn’t want to have a lot of credit card debt. Between service fees and interest rates, the card was maxed out before I knew it. I had made my payments on time every month, but after this, I started getting threatening texts and emails about my bill, being over the limit and overdue. Their app does not work at all, if you are not connected to Wi-Fi. So, if you are a paperless customer like I am and are having problems with your Wi-Fi, you are literally unable to pay your bill. I called customer service about this problem several times, and they are of no help.
I made a couple payments over the phone and had to argue with them about charging me in a phone processing fee, because it was their fault my payment was late or being made over the phone, because it was their app that wasn’t working. After months of this, I decided to just voluntarily close my account and sent a check to the city of industry payment address, their rep gave me. I paid off the entire amount that I owed, and I sent it USPS certified, so they can’t tell me they never got it. Which is exactly what they are doing right now.
The last customer service person I spoke to was so rude to me, laughed in my face, when I asked them to stop harassing me with calls. They were calling me up to seven times a day; even when I was on the phone with their customer service rep they were calling me with collection calls. The rest of the day they purposely called me every 30 minutes, and when I answered the phone, they hung up, but my caller ID identified them as Credit One Bank. The whole reason I got this card was to improve my credit score and now I have this completely senseless problem that I have to babysit several times a week. Subpar company. Avoid.

I received a pre- approval when I first began working to build my credit. Knowing it had a $300.00 limit and very high interest, I decided to accept the card offer but would only use it if I knew that I could pay the balance in full, on time every month. I received the card in the mail and activated it. I created an online account to monitor my transactions. I didn't use the card for three weeks. I decided to use it for a $33.00 purchase at my local Dollar General. When I attempted the transaction the cashier gave me the strangest look and whispered "it says it’s declined due to suspected fraud!" I was horrified. I cannot describe the embarrassment I felt other than it was likely the most embarrassing moment I had experienced in over a decade. Until 5 seconds later when I realized that I hadn't brought my wallet and that was the only form of payment I had with me. That's right!
I had to the b the dreaded walk of shame at Dollar General of all places for a 33.00 order....I called Credit One immediately and was told I needed to verify my identity even tho I'd already done so when I created my account online. I didn't argue. I immediately submitted three forms of identification as. I checked the status of the verification process on their website periodically over the next 3 weeks and nothing had changed. On day 22 I called customer service again asking them when they would complete the verification of my identity. I was told the only two of the forms that I had submitted went through even though I had confirmation for all three. Once again I did not argue. I simply submitted the third form again.
14 days later nothing had changed. I was still waiting for my ID to be verified. I called them back. I spoke with his supervisor who told me there's a problem with their system and they're unable to view my documents. I need to resubmit them. Once again I submitted the third form and to be safe I submitted the original two as well. 7 Days Later nothing hit it updated on my account so I called them back again. Once again I was told that their system was not working and my documents were not received. I need to submit them one more time. This time I waited 9 days after submitting them and I called them back when nothing had changed in my account. Customer service got on the phone and said the verification process was complete however I now had a balance of $127 due to late fees charging for a card and some optional programs they decided to enroll me in. Until I paid $127 I'll be unable to use my card.
They had already reported the payment late and they refuse to discuss anything with me until I make the payment in full. I've read so many similar stories now that I'm looking into them.. It has to be fraudulent what they are doing to people. I am going to do some research and find out what I can do to refine resolve this without throwing my money away to credit one for absolutely nothing. If you are considering a credit one card, please read all of the reviews on every website.... They have terrible reviews all over the internet. You'd be better off trying a secured card or even a leasing company like Aaron's. You'll pay a lot but you won't be robbed and lied to and you'll build credit.. With credit one they've only hurt my credit.

Let's start at the beginning (and I apologize if this is long). Around 4 months ago, I was on my Credit One app. I already had a card with a 3k limit. To my surprise, I was offered an American Express Card with them with an 800 limit. We were in the middle of a move, a hurricane, and a new job so I put it off. Several months went by and I was checking a transaction and remembered I still had an approved card waiting to be activated. I called the back of the number to have it activated and the process was smooth. They would send out a card in 7-10 business days. Life kept moving on and I forgot about the card.
A month had gone by and nothing in the mail. I called the same number and they read back the address to me and this was my bad...old address. I corrected the address and was told 7-10 business days. That's on me. a few weeks went by and still nothing. Called same number. Customer service said "Not sure why you don't have it, Let verify address." The address was correct. The CSR said I will stay on the line and ensure it goes out today. Perfect! It was in the queue to get mailed out. I was thankful as I had a business trips coming up.
Again several weeks goes by and no card. Called again. This CSR said there was a manufacturer issue producing the cards to which I replied "I have never heard of such a thing. Can I speak with a supervisor." Got escalated. She said there's no issue with manufacturing. Hmmm...ok I said well this time I have a trip and I need you to Fedex overnight the card since the past two mistakes have been yours. I have been more than patient. "Sorry sir. It's our policy to not overnight." We went back and forth and I had it shipped FedEx but not overnight so I missed my window to book my trip. Luckily I had another card.
Card came in 5 business days later via FedEx. Went to go use the card....worked perfect. The next day at gas station...declined. OK try it somewhere else...grabbed pizza for kids...declined. Frustrated, I called yet again. Now they need a copy of my driver's license and utility bill uploaded. Wait. I already have another card with you. I have verified my address, social, date of birth, and a flurry of other information. No other card has EVER asked me to upload docs like this for a simple address change. Sure it would have been easy enough but after all this frustration I was done. I cancelled the card. The customer service is subpar at best. They are lying on the phone, not following through, and just keep dropping the ball. This is the ONLY card since the address change a year ago that has given me grief. I cannot recommend them to anyone that doesn't want to be frustrated.

I previously really liked this bank. Not anymore. I do not like their website AT ALL. It is extremely difficult to sign in to view or pay your account. You have to try multiple times a day because on most days, the website signs you in and then automatically signs you back out. It makes it really difficult to pay your bill on time or monitor your account. I would close my account, but then it would reflect negatively on my credit report. If you do not mind the hassle of not being able to see your account information when you want to, then this is the bank for you.

The customer service is terrible. I received the card a few months ago, used a few hundred dollars for a vacation purchase. I submitted a $200 payment shortly after the purchase. The payment cleared, no issue. Then I receive a letter from them stating that they put a hold on the account because they needed to verify the account. Ummmm what?? Didn’t you just accept and process my payment. Ok. So I call them, and they explain this ridiculous policy. They need a bank statement with my name on it, the charge, routing number, etc.
So now I need to download my statement, black out my husband's name, and the amounts on the charges from our statement. Then two days after I sent this information, they email me back and state they now need a letter from the bank - on letterhead with the account holders and the charge or they’ll permanently close the account and put on my credit report that it was at the banks request that it be closed!!!! I’m in my mid-forties, I have a mortgage, multiple businesses and other credit cards - never have I ever had to do so much for these people to accept a payment!!!

This is the worst experience I have ever had with a credit card. They will sue you over the smallest amount possible and then tack on court fees. NEVER use this bank or credit card. Both my wife and I were sued by Credit One over less than $500. After it was all said and done, it ended up being $2,000 in fees and court costs. It shows that they care little to none about the actual customer and just about what they can squeeze out of customers. On top of that, their rates are outrageous. I would rather go homeless than deal with this bank and credit card.

I obtained this card years ago in an attempt to re-establish my credit. My checking account was hacked and received a new account number. I mistakenly paid my bill using this account instead of my main account. Called customer service immediately after and they informed me they could not stop the payment. I was hit with a late fee and when I called back after I made another payment from the correct account I was told nothing could be done. The rep attempted to talk over me and rush me. I interrupted him because he never gave me a chance to explain why I was calling initially.
Please try another credit card company. Do not use them. This is not the first issue I’ve had with them. I was unemployed due to cancer, they would not waive the payment even though I had the payment assistance that was being paid for. They really are horrible!!! I will be paying them off and closing my account! I have had this card for almost 5 years!

This company and their credit cards are atrocious! Their customer service is abysmal and you will be routed overseas during normal American business hours. From there you will also be constantly interrupted, talked over, and ultimately have your issue dismissed either due to ignorance on the rep's side (I blame training, not their lack of effort, my issue is not with the overseas people just trying to do a job), or in their limited amount of knowledge on things like, say, I don't know, rightfully disputing a charge. Their app is inferior for uploading dispute evidence, not even screenshots were able to be uploaded and finding an actual email address to send said evidence was another uphill battle.
I disputed two separate charges from Santa Marta, Colombia, May/June 2023. Both disputed charges were for boat trips that my girlfriend and I were not able to go on. One was canceled by me, and the "vendor", after challenging me physically, and told me to dispute the charge with the credit card because he refused to refund the $. This was after inflating the prices, lying about it, and blaming everything under the sun to the tune of what equated in dollars to about $7 more. I disputed no problem, submitted every screenshot of the conversations via WhatsApp, receipts, his remarks in Spanish, my remarks backed with facts, etc.
That dispute magically disappeared shortly after I arrived back in the USA. So, I had to re-dispute the whole thing. It is now October, and I still have heard nothing back for this particular disputed transaction, but I have a strong feeling, even with factual evidence in my favor, it'll go against me, and I will have to stomach the $68. It's the principle, NOT the money.
The bigger dispute, was from another boat tour that the company canceled on us days before the scheduled trip, through absolutely no fault of our own. They offered a "refund" in Colombian pesos, which would have resulted in me spending approximately $25 in taxi fees, as well as exchange fees to get the money returned in dollars, thus defeating the point. I refused this option, the "vendor" stated she couldn't do returns, which is an absolute lie, I am in Colombia, with American credit cards all the time and receive refunds, so she was either lying, lazy or ignorant. Regardless, I was due a refund for $110. After continuing to refuse to process a very simple transaction, I called Credit One, like the previous dispute and disputed this transaction. NOT the entire transaction, as we took 2 of the 3 tours, and were pleased, so JUST $110 for this one.
I supplied enough evidence to convince a deaf and blind jury of the malfeasance and was first, asked to resubmit. I resubmitted. Then crickets for weeks. I called, then out of the blue, I receive an email stating "upon further review"... They were ruling against me and in favor of EPAYMEDELLIN, the credit card company, and provided zero evidence for doing so, even though the email plainly stated "please see the attached evidence". Upon immediately calling Credit One bank, I'm in overseas customer care, explaining, whilst constantly being interrupted, what was going on and that I had more than enough evidence for this dispute to be 100% in my favor.
This goes absolutely nowhere for the better part of an hour, but I am told that I can resubmit for further review. I comply. I find every screenshot, attach it, and even take 45 minutes to separate the text I copied so there would be ZERO room for error on their part. Approximately a day later, I receive the same "upon further review" email, with the same result. I angrily call Credit One bank and immediately ask for a supervisor, explaining EVERYTHING. He does what I assume was his diligence and the call took approximately 1 hour. He assures me that he personally will handle the documents and it will be reviewed, again, as I was not taking this lightly. As I stated before, it is the principle. So, I have wasted hours of my life, uploaded more than sufficient documents to rectify this, and "it's" under review, by a supervisor.
Approximately a week later, I receive the 3rd email with "upon further review" and I absolutely lose my mind. Not once have I been provided with any sort of "evidence". These vendor's have literally stolen from me, and EPAYMEDELLIN is solely a credit card processing company. It provides nothing. It had no facts in this, nor could it have. I have pages upon pages of whatsapp transcripts, pictures, dates, times, names, numbers and everything possible to justify why this dispute occurred. This time, I demand to speak to an American to handle this. I am transferred to headquarters in Las Vegas (fitting for such a legit company to be in the capital of the world), and plead my case with the woman for 45 minutes plus. She's receptive, and I detail dates, times, facts, etc. and she asks me to resubmit, which I do.
Lo and behold a few days later, I receive the 4th email from that department but I guessed it was another "upon further review" email and this time I don't even open it to prevent causing permanent harm to my brain and heart. I waited approximately a month and just opened it, and YET again, regardless of it stating "enclosed evidence", there is none. I will be contacting their customer service tomorrow and paying the card off to never deal with them and their abysmal practices, again. Also, if you are an American traveler, pick a different card to take with you.

Anyway, I informed them I was disabled by the Department of Veterans Affairs and informed them I do not file taxes but I wouldn't mind sending a copy of my disability award letter. I was told by a phone representative, as well as his supervisor that I also needed to send in a letter explaining as to why I was disabled. Excuse me. I don't think so. One of the worst credit card companies! Stay away from them. They will issue a card, and you will never receive it, but here is the kicker! There will be fraudulent charges made to the account, they will send you a text alerting you of the suspicious activity, and you will do the right thing and notify them in minutes that you never received the card or made these fraudulent charges. They will issue a new card and then TRANSFER ALL THE FRAUDULENT CHARGES ON THE NEW CARD and when you try to dispute them, they will say you made those charges because we mailed you the bill statement. You will go in circles trying to resolve this, and good luck communicating with unqualified customer representatives who are like bots reading from a teleprompter. On 9/19/23 I attempted to use my Credit One credit card. The transaction was declined, and I was unclear as to why, as the payments were up-to-date and there was credit available. I checked my account online and discovered that there was a charge of $83.65 at grocery store in Hampton, VA on 9/7/23. I called Credit One support to dispute this charge, as I live in California and have never been to Virginia. When I spoke with support, I was told that my card was declined due to possible fraudulent use. I was advised that they would open a dispute claim and ordered another card.
I also asked the support agent multiple times to change the phone number associated with my account. He told me that he would change my number. Several days later, I received an email stating that my dispute had been denied because they claimed the card was used with the chip reader. This is impossible because I only had one card and it was always in my possession. I also do not have any additional authorized card users, nor did I have more than one card ever issued.
On 9/28/23 I called to address my concerns. Support was difficult to deal with as they often had low volume and their thick accents made it hard for me to understand. When I spoke with the first agent, I had to explain my situation multiple times and he appeared unable to help me. I had to explain why I did not have a card number. I had to provide my Social Security number, which I did. He asked for my birthdate and my address, which I provided. He then asked for my number and when I provided it to him, he said that was not the number associated with the account. I advised him that I did not have the same number currently that I had opened my account with. I also advised him that I had requested that my number be changed when I spoke with the customer support agent a few days earlier.
After insisting that he needed to assist me with my concern, he transferred my call to a supervisor. I had to explain my situation again, fully to the supervisor. After explaining everything again, the supervisor told me that my dispute was rejected because of the claim that the chip in the card was used. I explained to him that I live in California and have never been to Virginia. I explained again that I only had one card, that it has always been in my possession, and that I do not have any additional authorized users on my account. I tried to explain that great distance between California and Virginia and that I had never been to the state of Virginia. He said he would transfer me to a manager who could better assist.
Once again, I had to explain the entire situation to the manager, as it appeared they did not have any notes on the situation. After telling her all the aforementioned information, she told me the same thing the previous supervisor did, almost verbatim. She said my dispute was rejected because the chip in the card had been used. I again mentioned that I only have one card, have no authorized users on my account, and have never been to the state of Virginia. At this point, I asked for her email address so I could send her video from my doorbell camera that shows I was in California on 9/7/23. I again mentioned the distance between the two states and that I have never been to Virginia.
After being on the phone with support for almost one hour, this manager hung up on me when I asked that she address my concerns and repeated the information I had previously mentioned. After this manager hung up on me, I called back. I got the first level agent again. I had to explain my situation again fully. He again asked for the card number, and I told him that I did not have a card due to the situation. He said he could not help me without the card number. I told him that I could provide my Social Security number and he could look it up with that information. I had to repeat it appropriately 30 times because he claimed he could not hear me. I repeated each section of the number slowly and clearly, but he still claimed that he could not hear me.
I asked to be transferred to a supervisor, which after staying on hold again, I spoke with another supervisor. Again, I had to repeat my entire situation. He again, appearing to read from a script, told me that my dispute was rejected due to the chip in the card being used. I again told him I was never in Virginia. Told him about the distance between the two states. Told him I only had one card that has always been in possession. I asked his name, and he told me it was Ben **. This was clearly an insult to my intelligence.
He transferred me to the Senior manager, and it was the same situation. I had to explain the situation fully. Then he appeared to read from the same script. I told him all the information I had repeated numerous times. I asked him for his email address so I could send him the videos of me in California. I then asked him for a video of me using the card in Virginia. His response was, “Unfortunately, I cannot do that.” I told him that he could not do that because it does not exist. I asked him to provide me with a number for the corporate office in Las Vegas and he responded that he could not give that to me but could transfer the call. I asked several more times for the number, but he said he would transfer me. He put me on hold and then hung up on me.
Customer service at this company is terrible. They are unwilling/unable to help, and all seem to read for the same script and reject valid disputes and refuse to listen to proof that the charge was not made by the cardholder. The unwillingness to help remove a charge that was not made by me is despicable. It should be noted that the fraudulent card use was at 1050 West Mercury Blvd, Hampton, VA. My home address is approximately 2700 miles away. I canceled my card and will transfer the balance to another credit card company.

Also how do you claim that you send my bills to my address when I'm on paperless billing.
Now here we are almost a month later and they tell me, "You need a police report before we can reopen this claim." If they did their job correctly you would have seen that in the 4 years I've had this card I've never been to the town this transaction was made in. Just a bunch of crap to deal with. They offered me a higher credit line, less interest, anything to keep me. I said no and went through with the cancel.
The account was not closed and I then got an email for an upcoming payment for the account and a higher credit line. Abysmal to say the least. Most recently, I made my payment a week before the due date and was charged a late fee as for some reason the payment “did not process” though the money was taken out of my bank 3 days later. I did not have the funds immediately for the late fee but it was added to my next months payment. Despite this, and I have received over 25 calls from them in the last 3 days from different numbers that never leave voicemails.

I was ok with all they asked except sending pics of my Social Security card, which is just an invitation for bad people to use it to commit identity theft, or access anything attached to it, say my disability check one big thing that comes to mind! I was absolutely incensed and wrote out a complaint to the government regulatory agency overseeing this bank.
I had one good experience with a CSR, though, so I gathered the documents needed (not a Social Security card; they asked for a W2 instead, as I had filed my complaint late last week) and decided to give it a shot. Here is the beautiful deal, and by beautiful I mean smelly and rotten like an outhouse in the summer heat. I had universally been told to upload my docs to the website. Well one cannot upload to the website without an activated card!! BUT, to get the card activated one MUST upload the documents... "Yes we see the problem. Could you mail the..." NO. I am not using US mail. Seven calls, headaches galore, ONE regulatory complaint later...the card isn't even activated!!!! Avoid this exercise in stress and misery; build your credit some other way!!!

3 stars because the cards help with my credit. I had 2 credit cards through Credit One Bank for 6 years. Good to rebuild credit. I started out with a $300 limit plus almost $100 yearly fee (broken down into monthly installments). I have canceled both. After six years of early payments, NO late payments my credit limits were $1750 & $2500. I HAD to pay to have my credit limits raised. I have 6 other credit cards with NO ANNUAL fees nor am I charged to raise my limits. I just had one raise my limit by $3000. So I don't understand why Credit One charges all those fees. When I called to cancel they offered me 6 months of no account fees ($5 a month) and $30 credit on my card. I guess they really don't care about their customers.
They would rather lose one over the annual fee than to cancel said fee to keep them. I understand at the beginning, the annual fee, but after 6 yrs of being loyal, NEVER late etc. you would think they would cancel that fee. Oh and it's a pain to cancel the card(s) also. Kept trying to push me into staying 6 months with no fee like I explained then tried to say keep it for emergencies. Why? My credit limits on other cards will cover the little bit of credit line they gave me... wait.. little bit of credit line I paid for. I didn't have the hassles that others are saying they are having opening up a card but then again it's been 6 years.

Credit One Bank is illegally reporting a 30 days late payment when I have provided a bank statement showing successful payment was made. I want to formally report them to all bureaus as it refuses to correct it!!! I have tried countless times at filing disputes to no avail. They just say it's being reported correctly and they will not remove the bogus late payment on my credit report. I am being forced to close my account to make the late payment go away. I just wish they could do the right thing and lift a finger and delete the inaccurate late payment. At this point I definitely would say stay away from this company at all costs.

This company is NOT for their customers. They will ruin your credit and they charge you SO MUCH. This card is a nightmare - PREDATORY!!! This was the ONLY credit card co out of all of my cards, that would not help me in any way after I became unemployed. Prior to becoming unemployed I paid on time, every time. I called to see if they would assist with putting me on a payment plan or SOMETHING, not that I wouldn't pay but I just needed help. I called all of my other cards and they were wonderful and assisted me with making my payments without falling behind or harming my credit... But CREDIT ONE IS FROM HELL. They gave me the runaround, they were UNBENDING and although I explained what was going on, they seemed to not care at all.
One rep offered me to enroll in the protection program to which I was transferred to another department and they told me because I had a balance I could not enroll and even when I brought my account current that it would not go into effect until after 3 months. I made them notate my account with my situation, they still called and harassed me. I made them take me off their calling list and told them, "WHEN I HAVE THE MONEY YOU WILL GET IT." My advice is don't bother because when hard times come, they will show no mercy. Literally the only card that has caused me grief and made my credit score drop significantly and they will add harsh remarks to your credit report.

I had a Credit One Bank Credit Card. I paid the card off in September 2021. In fact Credit One continued to make offers about increasing my credit limit. Starting in October 2021 I have been charged an $8.42 Monthly fee. Further, I went to use the card and was told my card was frozen, HUHHH. Today I was reviewing my credit report I saw that I was still being charged the amount of $8.42 but could not utilize or activate the card I have on hand. I called customer service and was told the $8.42 was for maintaining the account, and reporting to the credit bureau. WHAT!
I can't use the card and maintaining for what and reporting to the credit bureau..WHAT. I asked to close the account to stop the payment and it was said that I still owed the fee of $8.42. Come on folks... I've been paying $8.42 monthly for near two for the ability to NOT to use the credit card. I asked for my money back, of course the answer was no. THIS RACKET MUST STOP. I'm sure this is occurring to others as well. This site requires at least a one star rating... CreditOne deserves a zero rating.

Strongly discourage any interaction with this company. My experience with them has been an absolute nightmare. I applied for a credit card on June 15th, and since then, it has been nothing but a series of broken promises and incompetence. Despite calling them every week in July, their customer service was appalling. Each time, I was fed with empty excuses like the card being expedited or rush delivery, but the reality was far from it. On July 5th, I reported that I never received the card, and they assured me a new one would be sent out. However, that only led to more frustration when I called them again on July 12th and found out the card still hadn't been dispatched. The operator claimed there was an issue and that they would rush deliver it, but even then, the card failed to show up within the promised time frame.
On July 20th, after yet another call, they informed me of an "error with shipping" and assured me that the card was finally on its way, expected to arrive in 3-5 days. By now, it was evident that they had no clue about handling their own operations, and their constant lies and delays were simply unacceptable. Feeling rightfully upset, I reached out to them on July 26th, only to be greeted with more errors and excuses. The level of incompetence displayed by this company is staggering. I asked for some form of compensation, such as a credit limit increase or fee removal, given the tremendous inconvenience caused by their incompetence, but they callously denied my request without even a second thought.
It is clear that this company has no regard for its customers' satisfaction or well-being. The way they treat their clients is nothing short of disrespectful and neglectful. For a company that boasts such poor customer service and fails to fulfill its commitments, it's no surprise that they have lost my trust entirely. I have had enough of their unprofessional behavior and will be canceling my card without hesitation. I will never engage in business with this deceitful and unreliable company ever again. They have shown themselves to be nothing more than a bunch of scammers, and I urge everyone to stay far away from them.

I logged into my Credit One account ending in ** and discovered there were two unauthorized purchases on my account. These purchases were for $119.76 at Champs Elmhurst, NY and $141.54 Asphalt Store in Elmhurst, both on June 19, 2023.
I immediately contacted Credit One Bank to report the unauthorized purchases and I was transferred to the fraud department (outsourced to a call center in Pakistan) where I was asked several questions about the purchases. I answered them as follows: 1. I did not authorize anyone to make purchases with my credit card. 2. I did and still do have possession of the card ending in ** and there are not authorized users on the account. 3. I was physically in Richardson, TX while the purchases were made in Queens and Elmhurst, NY. The card was cancelled, and a new card was issued.
On June 20, 2023, Credit One Bank notified the three credit bureaus that my card ending in ** was over the limit, and my Credit Score was injured by 47 points negative. One June 26, 2023, I received an email saying the charges were authorized because a chip card was used and I was charged for the purchases. This Bank is the absolute worst! Stay Away! They commit fraud on the consumer. I applied for their credit card. I was approved and they mailed me my card. They didn't open the card. They immediately blocked and put a hold on the card when I tried to create my account online. The bank claimed they needed more ID to identify my identity. They claimed they needed my DVM license, Utility Bill and a pay stub. I told them I didn't have a pay stub since I own my own company. Therefore they said I could send a 1099, which I did. They said this wasn't good enough since it didn't match my name. Yet it did match my last name and home address. I told them I still didn't have a W2 but I did have any old one. So they said to send that which I did the next day.
In the meantime, they said I needed to pay my initiation fee even though the card was not active. Now this fee was already late so I had to pay a late fee on top of that. SO I paid $30 for the activation plus a $39 late fee. A couple of weeks go by I don't hear from the bank. I call and they inform me the account is closed because I didn't provide them with enough information. WHAT A JOKE!!! When I asked for my money back they said "No". I said that is fraud, plain and simple. I was not provided with a service or a credit card. They claimed I didn't provide them with a pay stub. Again I had to remind them I don't have one. They also have the worst people on the phone you can't understand one of them. This bank is committing fraud on its customers. I am rating them one star because they are full of donkey dust! The fact that they provided me with a credit card based on my credit is all good but means nothing if it is causing me more harm than good. In 2015, I applied for their card. I signed up for coverage that protects you if you cannot pay, i.e., job loss, medical issues... I lost my job about two months after receiving the card. I made payments to the card. FYI - I believe the cost for the coverage was $1.00 in addition to your monthly income.
Well came time for me to use this protection I signed up for and paid for, I was told they did not have my registration application, so I sent it again. I was told the same thing again. So I sent it again. This continued for a few months. During this time, bills are piling up, and I am still out of work...those who've been there know the proverbial drill. Also - I kept in contact with this company because I did not want my account to go to collections as I was rebuilding my credit.
After six months, the card went to collections sometime in 2016. This company continued to push the card through on my credit report as a new collection each year until 2019 when LVNV Funding (a collection agency) picked it up. When I spoke with LVNV Funding, they had filed a judgment against me to collect the funds!
Now, I do not have an issue paying a credit card bill, especially since I want to keep my credit report as clear of those things as possible! However, Credit One breached their protection contract with me by stating they never received it when I confirmed it was accepted! They did not want to honor it. So instead, they sent me to collections.
This bogus collection agency has filed a writ to garnish my wages. Come to find out. This debt should have been removed from my credit report in 2018!! Maryland. It’s my opinion Credit One is no better than a Used Car Salesman.

As long as you never have any type of issue. If you have to call customer service you are addicted to pain. They do not think, they will keep reading script over and over. You call and different info. They will leave you on hold until the phone hangs up, or long enough hoping you will hang up. English is not the first language spoken by the representatives. This would be ok for basic calls. But for more detailed problems they will be pissed at you. If you get the card, just hope you never have an issue. No one should ever call looking for assistance and have this much pain inflicted upon them.

While Credit One cards give someone with bad credit a chance for a new start, there are cards that are far better than these.
1. No grace period for a late payment - even if you call them and explain that you cannot make a payment until a certain date.
2. ASTRONOMICAL interest rates - they are a feather-width under 30% currently (4.24.23).
3. Refuse to work with a card holder to lower the interest rate so that the customer can make their payments more easily.
4. If you are in a debt management program, while they will usually consent to a new interest rate and payment with the program, they will still harass you with notices about late payments (the payments aren't late: they are made by the debt management program in charge of the payments, and are not always received by Credit One on the same date that the payment is due.) When this happens, you need to constantly monitor their statements/website to make sure they haven't assessed any fees they shouldn't have per the agreement they have with the debt management program.
5. You constantly have to monitor statements to see (if you are in a debt managmenet program) whether they sneak in late fees or other charges and call them and remind them that you are with a debt management program.
6. They have VERY high yearly fees.
7. Their customer service STINKS. The people that answer you on the first tier call center - at least the ones that I've gotten - can barely speak English and I have to keep asking questions repeatedly. It makes me wonder if they really understand what I'm trying to ask or say.
8. If you need a new card, they charge you for it.
Basically, this card is only for people who are DESPERATE and - if you are and you're reading this, TRUST ME - there are better cards out there to help repair your credit rating. DO NOT USE CREDIT ONE. As soon as mine are paid off with my debt management plan, I am DONE.

They make it nearly impossible to speak with a company representative and they charge an extremely high fee for their card. I would never recommend this bank. Getting an account closed and annual fee return is also next to impossible. Horrible company!!!! Beware!

Watch your bills! I am on automatic payments and caught them charging me late fees BEFORE the due date even though I had paid my bill! This happens on 3 occasions. I wrote them complaining (because there is no other way to speak to someone) and they DID refund me, but they are giving me hard times removing the late fee on my credit report. Thank god I have the letter to submit, some of the credit bureaus took them off but I had to fight for it. Also! When I stopped automatic payments they still deducted the payment so I paid double for about three months also. I have been a customer for two years now and have never been offered an increase. Got denied when asked for one. Probably for the ‘late fees’ they charged me for. But honestly what is a $400 credit card when you should only spend 30%? So I’m keeping my balance at $30 and they can take the apr rate off that… They are not getting more from me! They screwed my credit.

When I realised it I called their non existent customer service department for days. I finally got through and explained the situation and made the missed payment over the phone less than 5 days later. They returned the late fee and phone payment fee. I was told it would take several days to get back the $30 in interest I was charged. Never got it back and closed the account. STAY AWAY FROM THESE LIARS. I wish I could have rated it 0 stars.

I opened a credit line with $200 deposit to rebuild credit. I downloaded the app to track and make payments, etc. About 6 months later I changed my personal bank. I added the info, verified it through Credit One's app, seemed fine. Made my monthly payment, 5 days later I was sent an email that the payment was returned and the account assessed a 40 dollar return fee and 39 dollar late fee. I called customer service, explained I was sure I chose my new account, must be a glitch in the App. They returned the fees, I resubmitted, this time taking photos of me doing it since the app doesn't allow screen shots. Again, 5 days later, same thing. So I removed that old bank account to just cover my bases. Called in, explained, again fees removed. Resent once again and this time it went through.
The app a week later showed a credit availability to be what I made my payment for. Needed gas, so I went to the store, thought, "OK, I'll put it on this card, build more credit, we're good." Card is declined. I called customer service to be advised the account is closed due to 2 return payments. I said, "Well if you can't reactivate it, apply my 200 deposit to the balance and we'll be good." I was advised that due to return payments (their app's bug) they now keep the 200 and I owe the remaining 200 balance and there's nothing they can do. I see this as fraud, as they were made aware immediately on my end there was a glitch. I believe they have a system in place to cause failures to keep deposits and then try to collect the enormous fees they add at opening. Do not recommend even if building credit.

I received a "pre-approved" letter from these guys. I should have known better. So I went online and was told that I was approved for a card with a limit of $300-1500--might have been $2000. So I said OK and received a card with a $300 limit. The first bill came and it had a $75 annual fee charge on a $300 limit card. I have never applied for a card that has an annual fee and I wouldn't with this outfit. Particularly with a $300 limit!. Either it wasn't in the application or was in really small print. I spoke with a Rep from the bank and we both laughed that it was ridiculous to have that high of a fee for a small limit card.
She told me there was nothing she could do about it so I told her she needs to get a job with a reputable company. I told her I am not going to make any payment on the card. She laughed and did say not to worry about it until collections calls. I told her it doesn't matter--my credit will already be dinged so I sure as hell ain't going to pay them--and will appeal with fury once collections gets involved. I have put in a complaint with the BBB and will find other areas to file complaints. Funny that before I even use the card I owe them $75--nice gig for the bank--sucks for us. This bank is horrible and avoid at all costs.

Then, around 2018-2019 things started changing. Random items in my account would change. I would go in and correct them. Suddenly, I couldn't get in at all. I noticed random charges that were not right and corrected them with the institutions that made them. Then, in late 2019, I received a replacement card. Activated it and set to e-statements with no mail and two factor sign in. A few months later, the estatements stopped and things seemed to revert. I went and tried to log in to reset them and found I could not even log in. Called customer service and got things fixed. Then in late 2022 it happened again. Called to get it fixed and was told that my information did not match.
Somehow, someone went in from THEIR system and changed profile items and someone else had control of the account and I no longer had anything, even though I could prove it was mine. Their customer service would not even tell me who to contact to get it fixed, just kept saying "you would need to contact the back office" with no more details. Filed a grievance with credit bureaus and now the account shows charged off. I can't do anything with it to fix or investigate it, so I just wrote this bank off and won't do business with them again. Understand that this is the ONLY card/bank that I have ever had a situation like this with, and it happened completely from their end, around two factor ID and everything.

3. You cannot make an extra payment on their website. It is considered the standard or monthly payment. There is no option for an extra payment even if you try 3-5 days after your regular payment has posted. So you can never get ahead because of high interest rates.
4. They send you offers to raise your credit limit but you must pay a fee and it is for a card with another name.
5. They will not send you offers for balance increases for the card I have which is Capital One American Express which I want to keep.

I have been a Credit One card holder for about 5-10 years. I have had several issues with transactions being declined to avoid fraud. Embarrassing, but not unique to them. I have always paid on time and usually try to pay off each month. One often you cannot pay completely off unless all your transactions are early in the month. Not sure, but this is a bit annoying. I do not care for the 7 days after paying to have credit available, but still not my biggest issue. For the second time after making a payment (to pay the card off), they have suspended the card because my payment could not verified. The first time I provided them with the information they requested (proof the payment came from our bank account) they never reinstated. Then when we called, they said they had closed the account because we had not submitted proof. We cut up the card and it is still showing as an open account.
Now again, I paid the card off and 8 days later I received a letter "temporarily suspending" the account until I provide a copy of a bank statement (which I do not like) or a printed transaction detail. They have the account paid off, and I will keep it that way. Going to wait and get a credit card company I can use and count on having the credit they extend. I do appreciate the card at a time I had poor credit, but I am done with this company.

Card itself is okay, so long as you never need help with anything. They have hands down the worst customer service I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. No one I have interacted with speaks fluent English and on top of genuinely not being able to understand the CSR, the few of them that I have spoken with are beyond rude. They act extremely annoyed to have to be helping you and I use the term helping very loosely because helpful is the last thing they are. Not to mention not only can you not understand them, they can’t understand you either so it’s a phone call of constantly asking one another to repeat themselves, except they ask you to do so in an extremely rude, arrogant and condescending way.
My other issue is that the Payments take like a week to post to your account, so don’t plan on using your card anytime soon after you make your payment if it is close to being maxed out. It will show online that you have available credit but it won’t actually be available to spend for approximately 5 days. This is 2023. What credit card company takes almost a week to process a payment? My other cards take 1 business day and I even have 1 that processes payments instantly. They need to train their customer service department how to actually be of service to their customers and actually process customer payments in a timely fashion and then they might be worth recommending but until then, it’s a no from me.

My initial experience with Credit One was great. I had 2 cards, 1 for approximately a year. All payments except one was made on time and even that one was corrected shortly after. Few months later my lease was up and I had to move ~ unfortunately there were unexpected expenses related to move that threw my whole budget off. When I made my payment, I mistakenly provided them the wrong bank account (I have 2) ~ they attempted to push the payment multiple times running up nearly $100 in fees. It was my error so took that one on the chin, called them and gave them correct account. As I said budget was thrown off another payment came through and one of the payments didn't clear. Again - my error, however I immediately called them, requested to re-run the payment - they would not and closed one of my credit cards.
I went online and made my payment which did clear. Not only did they close one card ~ they offered a balance increase on the other which made zero sense to me. They immediately reported card to credit bureaus which then tanked my credit. Frustrated at this point, but it is what it is. They then removed my online access so I can't even log in for the card that is STILL active to make my payments. I have not refused to make payments, didn't say I wouldn't pay off the account they closed, nothing.
Within a day or so the calls start - 8am until 8/9pm all day long from multiple numbers. Easily between 8-10 calls a day all day every day. Initially I did answer - they wanted payment on the account they closed - advised I will make my payment but not that day. The calls continued. I did call them after a couple of weeks - made a payment on the account that was still open and small one towards the one they closed. I asked the gentleman if he could help me log on and he was unable to. TWO DAYS I had silence and the calls started again. In addition received a bill (which is fine at this point) ~ stating my next payment due was triple the normal payment.
So ~ they close the account, they remove my online access, want to tell me next payment is triple the normal amount, AND call me 7 days a week 8+ times a day from multiple numbers. This has been going on for a little over month - yes a month. Prior to that mix up - there were no issues. No exaggeration on the call amounts - if I were able to upload screenshots of my call log I would.
This is absolutely ridiculous. I am fully aware of the mistake I made & attempted to correct it. It is within their right to close my account - I accept that too. To then remove my online access which I've always made my payments by & call me non-stop all day long 7 days a week is ridiculous. Just stop the non-stop calls - it would help this situation so much for both sides. I have multiple credit cards and this is the only one that is behaving this way ~ steer clear if possible. As I said - initally it was great - would have given it 5 stars and agreed with others. However, it has turned into a nightmare and what they seem to forget is they are doing this to a STILL CURRENT CUSTOMER ~ however, rest assured as soon as my second card is paid off ~ I will be closing that account myself.

I've had my card for over a year now. I've paid my monthly bills on time with no issues. Until I was recently notified by Experian that my credit usage went down changing my score. Now I'm thinking how.... It's crazy I don. Didn't need any funding. I'm doing good with income so no need to spend unnecessary from card. Somehow my card balance was low. I called and I was told they didn't see anything suspicious on it as if it the activity been erased. Sounds nuts I know. Then I went on to ask for a replacement as I wasn't getting anywhere trying to explain to them how 96 dollars has just been taken out of my account. It's been 3 weeks since then. Today (1-12-23) I called to see the status. They wanted my SS#.
I don't feel comfortable giving my personal digits simply because of identity fraud has happened to me in past. Meanwhile on app my card number changed but there's no way of actually getting access to the 16 digit numbers as they only have just the 4 last digits showing...Like most credit card companies they provide you with access to your card until your physical card comes. So I'll just pay off my little balance and cancel the card because it's suspicious activity going on. Why they can't just send out a replacement then on top of my mysteriously missing money they charged 25 dollars for replacement fee. So my account balance is even lower. Making my credit utilization more usage than less. Never had issues with credit card company than this. Never again will I use them.

Credit One Credit should not be advertised or recommended by credit bureaus. As a card to use to build credit. The payment policy is ridiculous and has you set up to fail. It takes 7 to 10 days for a payment to process and post to your account. So even if your payment is made 4 to 5 days before it's due. You run the risk of it being late even though it will show it's processing. You have to pay to have it immediately posted to the account. This in addition to high interest rate and annual fees.
Most credit card companies I have dealt with. Usually 24 to 48 hrs your payment is processed and credit to your account giving the customer the true opportunity to build credit. And not create pitfalls to trip a person up along the way by having a subprime payment system. That is equal to going back to a time when payments were sent by mail. This credit card should not be offered with the intent it helps people build credit. With the payment process being so substandard and customer service be exceptionally TRASH.

October 7 they blocked me and had their documents 2 weeks later shortly after I find out my account. Is blocked because my purchase was declined at a store. Still no documentation of an identity verification. The company refuses to email me any of this or put anything in writing. Illegal activity here and big red flags!

On Wednesday 11/16/22 I attempted to open an account. It took all my information including my birthdate and SS#. When it sent me a six-digit confirmation number it went to my junk mail. I called customer service and was told to check my junk mail and try again. When I started over, as directed, it said I already had an account, but when I tried to open it The website said I did not provide sufficient info to continue. I called back and again spoke to Joe in CS who tried to find my account but could not. He told me he would contact his superiors and find out how to proceed. He told me he would call me back as soon as he heard from them.
It is now Friday 11/18/22 and I have not heard anything. SOOOO Credit One may or may not have all the info necessary to steal my identity, but I will never do business with them. If their customer service is this bad before I fund the account, how bad will they be when they have my money and I want to get it back? I will got to a walk-in credit union and get a lower interest rate but know I am not gambling with my money.

I close my account on 11/12/22. I recorded the Operator #, and a Confirmation #. I was assured there would be no further charges. 11/18/22 - Receive email stating my statement is available. Upon review, my account was charged the 'monthly' portion of the annual fee...plus interest... WHEN? you ask, "Oh the charge was on 11/17/22." Customer Service stated (called 11/18/22), that my account status was 'closed', WHEN? you ask, "Oh 6:05 PST on...11/18/22." Are you kidding me. They left the account open just long enough to charge the fee one last time and then force me to deal with it.
This is actually a really sad thing, cause if you asked me before this, I would have given them 5 stars. Not cause they are great but because they are what they say they are. You pay to get your credit rating established or re-established. That was a reasonable arrangement for a looong time... I paid this annual fee. And it worked. So if you read this far...keep notes. Get the operator's badge # and get a conf#. protect yourself. They would not indicate if it was an operator error or a human error. I'd be more pissed off if I didn't already expect this sort of shady behavior from a credit card company.

I have been a customer of Credit One Bank credit card services for a year. I’ve read reviews with Consumer Affairs and completely disagree with many others. Do as you’ve agreed from the onset. I pay before the due date, have never had any issues and I’ve never gone over the credit limit! It’s that simple. It’s highly recommended to take advantage of their credit protection program as well. In the time I’ve had a Credit One credit card, I’ve been offered a second card with a huge credit increase and a huge interest rate decrease. The mobile app is great! It’s very simple to use to see your transactions, watch your balance or pay your bill. It’s equally as simple to reach customer service by phone if needed. I’ve called customer service twice in 1 year and there’s never a wait time. They’re extremely courteous and efficient! What more could one ask?
Also, cash back purchases most often offset the interest accrued so take advantage of those when one can. There’s a little more work involved to see who offers cash back but it’s worth the few minutes it takes to look. They’re available for viewing and redeeming right on the app. Oftentimes I’ll pay more than 1 payment at intervals during a single month. At one point, I attempted to pay more individual payments but had reached their payment limits for the month. Yes, there is an individual payment limit per month but I prefer to make the payments in the event I’m ever in an emergency situation and need to use the card. They’ll only accept 5 payments in a 1 month period, just fyi. How is there to be any issue? Simply put, there aren’t issues. Hold up your end of the agreement made upon origination and there’ll never be a problem.
I also avoid large interest payments by making larger payments than the minimum amount due before the due date and/or paying the balance in full. Bottom line, pay as little as the minimum due before or on the due date right on the mobile app and there will never be a problem. I’d suggest more but that’s just me. They offer 2 ways to pay on the mobile app. They’ll do an express payment from a debit card (my preferred route) and it’s immediately applied or they’ll do an ACH hold with your bank, just don’t use the amount you’ve set aside to be deducted. It’s super simple and an extremely easy, streamlined app. It appears to me that people complaining about their experiences probably didn’t meet the required standards of any credit agreement, regardless of the card issuer. I can think of no other reason why there would be a problem. Don’t be that person and you’ll have no reason to complain. The rewards of your diligence will come!

I opened the card trying to increase my credit score. I don't use credit. I pay cash or don't get it. I can't login, can't pay my bill & can't get hold of anyone same as last month and was told no late fee because it was only hours after the due date which I had no way of knowing since I never got a statement and had been trying for 2 weeks to contact someone. I was charged the late fee and here we are again unable to pay my bill. I will be closing my account asap. Don't need the stress.

This bank is garbage. They prey on people by using tactics I’m sure are illegal. Yes, I have had insufficient funds. When this happens they automatically unenroll you in autopay. When you log into re-enroll either the website is down or they make it impossible to figure out or get in touch with them. They are the first to report delinquency to the credit bureau. These suckers take advantage of people with bad credit and I would suggest all people considering this card to beware. They will be the first card I pay off and I will cancel my account. Can’t wait! They suck and don’t deserve one star.

I have not had any issues per se with my credit one American Express card… I went almost 10 years without using credit and although had absolutely no bad credit and paid all my bills on time on my house, free and clear, and all of my vehicles etc with a strong net worth I ultimately learned my credit score was below 600 or at 580 when it used to be 800… It took me over a year to get it back up and I was dumb enough to get the credit one American Express card. Now I’ve never carried a balance and I even used it heavily making sure each month it reported zero… The funny thing is they gave me a $500 initial limit and the day I received the card and activated it. They increased it up to $650. I’ve had it for 11 months now and have received no other increases nor have I requested an increase.
I would not recommend this card even to somebody with struggling credit there are other ways to improve your credit. Do not get a credit one card, unless you’re willing to be stuck in their bubble & speak fluent Indian or whatever language native to their customer service department. They made a couple mistakes that were very difficult communicating to get them to correct although fortunately, it did not affect my credit score which now finally is almost back to 800 again, but the only reason my credit score was able to go up that high in less than two years is because, I had no bad credit and I do have a above average income and above average net worth, and I did have previous good credit which I struggled, believing that isn’t factored in somehow, as the credit reporting agencies are intentionally evasive and incredibly complicated as there truly is no individual anywhere who truly knows and understands how they work or what truly causes a credit score. It’s one of those insane mysteries that hopefully one day will be done with, and we’ll move on to a more honest logical system for society.
If you’re looking to get Credit One, don’t. It is not even close to being like an American Express. The only similarity is the name and may be a couple of worthless so-called discounts you get that are mostly not real or they are discounts you can get without getting the credit one amex any credit one account. Capital one maybe… They are a bit better but again every individual is different. I would just discourage everyone from getting credit one. It will cost you $40-$70 a year for a ridiculously high interest rate if you carry a balance since I don’t carry any balances, I don’t care what the interest rate is. I wish there was a way to keep a good credit score without having to have any open credit cards. I hate the things lol.

I have had a Visa card with this bank for 2 years. Recently my card became damaged. I called to get a replaced, only to hear first it would cost $22 then I called to report it stolen so I could speak with a human. I explained I have the card saved in my Google Pay Wallet as a virtual card but that I had now misplaced the damaged card. I got a rude lecture from some outsourced young foreign accented male (young as my grandkid probably), about it's my responsibility to take care of the card, when I explained I called the lost line in hope of avoiding what I feel is an excessive charge.
After all My bank charges $5, and offers a free replacement every 2 years because cards wear out, I told him. Nor had I ever requested a new card. No such luck here. One card on sign up and a fee for a replacement regardless of why you need it. And then I was told after this rude lecture it was $25! Therefore I gave him my opinion: that this was a very, very bad business practice and the charge is excessive, outlandish and predatory. To which he rudely replied " so anything else?" I'm appalled by this interaction. I will continue with my virtual card. So glad I saved it to my virtual wallet. Still I plan to pay it off and cancel it by my anniversary date before renewal fees apply again.
Also I question if other charges and interest fees many mention are even legal. Interest charged on annual fees, interest on late fees and interest on fees in general don't sound ethical nor legal. Fees to increase one's credit line also. Avoid the entanglement keep shopping for a credit card bank.

I am no stranger to Credit cards. I currently have this Visa Card and am in the process of canceling it.. This Platimum Visa is one you don't want even if you want to rebuild credit as it won't help in that regards. It only reports to the credit bureaus about once every 2-3 months. It's so-called free credit report is highly inaccurate because they don't update it very often.
It's also EXTREMELY slow at processing your payments and then returning those amounts to available credit. It frequently takes 2-3 weeks after an electronic payment has been made before you are credited for it. So if you are a bill payer who generally pays just on time, be prepared for hassles with this company. Then it can take another 2 weeks to have that paid amount to be reapplied as available credit. You will often see your overview balance showing incorrectly that they have processed the payment and new available credit only to have your next purchase refused due to it not yet being available for use. I have argued with their staff numerous times that their available credit often lags up to a month behind when payments are made. They just claim you actually made your payments weeks after you really did.
Their customer service is by mail or phone only. And their website and app gets more and more restrictive each quarter. Their website frequently gives you errors that a contact option or menu selection from their own site is not valid. And if after waiting sometimes over an hour on phone for customer support, you will likely get a foreigner who can't speak your language well enough to even communicate. And they are seldom more than talking rule quoters or verbal FAQs. Their main goal is clearly not to assist you.
If you have a merchant do a refund on a purchase to this card and it puts your balance over $0, you will find it very difficult to get them to approve any purchase for the credit limit plus your now positive balance. The same applies to overpaying them too. For instance, if you have a $300 credit limit and a $0 balance and a merchant refunds a past $150 balance to your account, they only consider your new available credit as $150 (the amount you overpaid). If you call them and argue about this lunacy, they'll agree to send you a check for the overpay but your full available credit remains off till then. I've gone round and round with them on that.
They also have declined my purchases when the amount is fully within credit limits. When I call to ask them, they give a speech about protecting the account from what they say they thought was a "suspicious" purchase. It's their excuse for "we don't know why we declined it". Also even though I have got a pin code from them, the card has never worked in any ATM machine I've ever tried (and I've tested many). When you call them, their response was to "use the card at a bank to get the funds". So don't count on ever getting to use the tiny cash limit they say you have.
Also be aware that the average customer gets a $300 credit limit but has to pay high yearly fees for this card and high monthly interest as well. The only way to stave off the high interest rate is to constantly attempt to pay off the entire balance and keep your balance to less than 30% of the credit limit. Go over this 30% or get dinged for them setting on your payments for weeks at time and you'll find this card and company will generally cost you far more credit points rather than increase it.
I am now trying to cancel this card and am getting excuse after excuse as to why they do not get it done. 1st they of course want the balance to be at $0. But then if you don't get the amount just exactly right to the penny, they'll tell you they will mail a check to clear the balance. (I got a 32 cent check and it took weeks.) Then they tell me that that balance has changed again without new transactions and here we go again.
I regret getting involved with Credit One. They might be in Vegas but all the support I have ever received was people in a foreign country. As soon as I get them to accept the magic number to close this account and to return the remaining funds, I'm no longer going to do business with them. And of course cancelling a CC also hurts your credit, so getting their card did me no favors. I would advise anyone considering them to rethink it and see the other reviews of them. They are not the way you want to try to rebuild your credit.

I like many others had credit issues and wanted to rebuild my credit. I received an opportunity to receive the Credit One card and would use it and pay it off each month. Each month I noticed different "fees" and would ask why my printed bill would say total amount due but when I call on the phone to pay the full amount there was another "fee" that could not be explained. I stopped using the card, then when my daughter relocated, I used the card. AGAIN, received printed bill for total bill amount, called on due date and paid total amount. Called two days later to make sure my balance was zero because of issues in the past and BAM, I was told I owed $54 because I paid my bill at 8:30pm on the due date and not 5:30pm!
I requested a courtesy fee waived and representative said yes but I still owed $10 for a pending charge and then I would be at zero balance, but the charge needed to be completed before payment and the courtesy fee would take up to 24 hours to 72 hours to be waived. I called back to pay the $10 to zero my balance 4 days later and my "fees" went from $10 to $24 plus the $30 late fee that was not removed and per the representative was not recorded. I went off along with my husband! We stayed on the phone for over an hour asking where did the extra $13 come from and the representative keep giving us the run around while I am asking, "Why is there a $13 "fee"? What is this within 4 days when I was told only $10?" I paid the $24 and ask for the card to be cancelled.
I was then transferred to a "specialist" that offered me $200 extra on my credit line which I declined, and she said, "With the increase credit line of $500 you will not need to cancel your credit card. We will keep the line of credit open for you and we will waive the annual fee for 6 months." I again said, "NO CANCEL THIS CARD!" Then she said, "I have cancelled your card but look at your next bill because your billing cycle started two days ago and there are daily charges on your account that you will have to pay." I YELLED "WHAT? THEN WHAT ARE THE CHARGES? AND WHY?"
The representative said, "I am not sure." I am like, "But it is ZERO balance. What more do I have to pay, you said two days daily interest. What is it so I can pay it and be done with Credit One!" The representative replied, "You will have to wait until you receive your statement." Ladies and gentlemen don't do like I did by getting this card, GO TO YOUR BANK and GET A SECURED CREDIT CARD TO REBUILD YOUR CREDIT! This is by FAR THE WORST CREDIT CARD COMPANY! Their goal is to keep you in debt, the carpet bagging LAS VEGAS/CHARLESTON, SC/INDIA WAY!

Complaint Details. I closed both my 2 accts with this company back in March 21. After being alerted by Credit Karma in June 22' that I had a past due acct with Credit One, I called credit one's customer service and explained I no longer have any accts or a balance with this company and ended up escalated to a supervisor who said It only showed me as closing one acct not both in March and that I've since been charged a annual fee, late fees and interest on this acct. I said I closed this account already but haven't used it in at least 3, maybe 4 years, which is why I closed them to begin with along with Fraud getting pretty bad. I asked him to please reverse whatever charge they gave me and close this acct for real this time. He put me on hold to research my acct. He said they'd reverse the charge and he'd close my acct for real. Now he did close the account but didn't reverse the charge.
I get alerted yesterday about my score dropping with credit one as the creditor I called credit one's customer service and spoke to a supervisor Markel who transferred me by request to a manager. Al was the manager who ended up assisting me. She said she reverse the charges but it may take up to 72 hours to reflect. I asked if she could remove it from my credit report, she said credit bureaus are who usually deals with credit issues so contact them and she gave me a Las Vegas .p.o box to send in a dispute credit one as well. I would really like more effort put into fixing this issue due to the fact that I only had an annual fee on one of my 2 accts with credit one and that's the acct I called to close the accounts originally in march last year 21' for the very same reason, annual fee.
I just decided to close both of them because right then so I didn't have to worry about it plus I was mad about the hit to my credit even though this was supposed to be taken care of. It seems the annual fee was removed but acct left open and accrued another annual fee while the one without the fee was actually the acct closed. Desired Outcome/Settlement. Desired Settlement: Correction to a credit report. None Provided.
