They call you every hour to "remind" you your payment is due in a few days, even if you have a pending payment. It is almost impossible to get to talk to a human, and when you get someone, you can't understand them. The card is awful as well and it takes almost a week for a payment to process. Even if you have a payment processing they charge you a late fee if they don't take the payment from your account by the due date. I would not recommend this company or card to anyone.

I should have known when there was a limit to how many payments I could make. They closed my acct for a payment which my information was approved on their site. They accepted a payment after this one from same bank. Never knew my acct was closed. They charged me late fees on an acct they closed. I would never recommend this scam credit issues to anyone.

Credit One card was ok for about a year. They added on Credit Protection without my consent and charge me $6.67 a month. Also added almost $2.00 a month for cash advance that I never used. There was a charge I didn't make $129. 99 so I called them. They gave me a new card number. All I know is the last 4 digits. The card I have is my original one. I never got a credit card with the new number. They gave me a credit for that charge and then added it back on again. I tried to call and their phone cuts my call off immediately. They will continue charging the fees and ruin my credit since I can't make a payment. What can I do? I'm going to talk to an attorney. Please if anyone reads this don't accept a card from Credit One.

I originally got this card to assist me in raising my credit score due to my credit score being in the toilet. I was approved for $300 from the start. Within 7 years my credit limit had be raised $950 and stopped. I called and made credit line increase requests multiple times with non ** people telling me they have NO control over the decision to increase credit limits because those decisions are automated, made increase attempts on the website multiple times, and even changed my annual income when it changed and still no increase.
The final decision to close my accounts was when they sent me an email stating they were sending me a $250 check and if deposited they would increase my limit to $1200. This in my opinion is a form of bribery and I'm not going to continue to be with a company that has to bribe their customers to do anything. With this being said I have other credit card companies I'm associated with and ALL of them increased my limits in 2022, except Credit One.

I was approved for a simple little card. Nothing has ever shown up for 4 months yet it shows how I still owe a annual fee. Every time I call the company a foreigner answers the phone which has the worst English on Earth and they end up telling me I'm not allowed to cancel the card nor could they help me any further if I don't give them my social security number and address. I 100% believe this is one of those scams in India or one of those countries over there that just steal from good people because they're bad people. There's no other way to word it!

Credit One is charging fees, sending a bill for those fees, BEFORE even sending consumers a credit card. It's been OVER a month. MY 1st calls to them were being assured that no statements no reporting UNTIL I received a card and activated it. A week later I get a bill in the mail for 75 bucks (an annual fee)... BUT NO CARD EVER. Hoops and excuses why cards aren't sent, and treated very rudely when I questioned Why, I was told one story, then the opposite. A BILL, NO CARD, that 2nd call the lady IN VEGAS, tried to degrade and belittle offering me 6 dollars off...OFF WHAT. I don't know about most, however, I don't pay ANYTHING, for something I never received, that was never sent, and never activated. Two stories, total opposite with each call. IT HAS TO BE ILLEGAL TO BILL FOR SOMETHING NEVER PROVIDED, NEVER SENT.
Overseas, can't understand them... Call to Vegas corporate, TWO DIFFERENT STORIES- I was lied to! I'm preparing to now contact the parent company BEN NAVARRO HIMSELF, who owns Sherman Financial Group which owns Credit One Bank - to ask them why they are sending bills to people WHO NEVER RECEIVED AND of course never activated a card with them. That's not how business works...send them a bill and never send them a card. When did credit cards become, BILL PEOPLE FEES for something they never received... then insult them and give them 2 opposite stories from Vegas Corporate. I fully intend on contacting the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection.

Updated on 03/05/2023: 1st it took them over 2 months to send me my card, they have yet to list it with any credit Bureau and now claims that express pay is under maintenance, so everybody has to pay through a bank account, so they hold onto your money for 7 days, to collect the interest.
Original Review: I was approved for a $0 fee $300 limit card, in the beginning of Nov. I have called 3 times asking when my card would be arriving, to be told, "next week", then just today I was told it would be shipped out in mid Jan. I cancelled my account, cause if they can't manage to send a card, in a timely manner, what are they going to do with my money?

2 months ago I applied thru Credit Karma, I was approved. Know, I already have 2 other cards and a decent credit score. Credit One tells me that I'll have my card in 7 to 10 business day. 12 days later I call, oh look at that, they just mailed it out, so they say. I wait, and wait, and wait. 2 weeks goes by, I call again. Now I'm told that they are having trouble with the supplier. Ok, let's go that route. I wait, and wait, and wait. Then I get an email stating that I am past due on my bill. My bill, are you serious, the card was never received or activated. So I call, they act caring and say they will change the due date. I ask why do I have a due date when the card was never activated. No real response.
3 more weeks go by and I get a bill in the mail, now my payment due is 85$. What is going on here? I Call again today, surprise, surprise they mailed the card (again). I asked the questions again about the due payment and balance. It's computer generated they say. Now mind you I have never accepted the account yet and activated the card, so why is it in the system as activated. I had the close an account that was never opened in the first place. It's crazy. Please if you are in a situation that you need a credit card, reconsider these guys. I'll bet anything that they will try and find a way to screw you. Thank God I'm not in that position and I have a little knowledge. Since credit karma is the one who recommended them, I will be reaching out to them as well. They also should know the people that they are dealing with.

I filed a dispute for two unauthorized charges from a rental company. I provided proof of the authorized rental charge and the rental contract agreement associated with the rental. Credit one took over 120 days and only because I complained about the dispute not taking place per the rental company statement that Credit One had not contacted them regarding the charges. After well over 120 days, Credit One stated that they had conducted an investigation and found favor for the retailer. The retailer basically called credit one liars. They were never contacted. Also, Credit One has charged me for instant credit per payment made via debit card. They took the $4.95 fee but didn't provide the instant credit. This has happened several times. Another complaint is about the cash back, it's never available to add to your account. I will be closing my account at the end of December. I only got the card because I thought it was Capital One I was applying for.

I was told by numerous representatives that their website and my emails were incorrect. What?! They stated on their end it states this. I asked where can I find this information? Ultimately, nowhere stated this. I have immediate regret about applying for this card. It has absorbent APR and interest rates. If you need a card, go somewhere else. The card still has a $225 balance on it and only had a $300 limit to begin with. Fee after fee will be charged for this card. Now the next day I get an email my bills overdue and they applied a late fee. So one day late you get a fee even if you paid the day the bills due and it shows on your balance. If they were honest there would be no fees applied if you paid on time. They think they can give, print this stuff and people just accept it. You'd be better off getting a loan from the mob. The interest rates would be lower but not only that they find a way to tap on an extra 30 some odd dollars on you for saying and pay the bill on time. When I clearly paid it the day before like I always do even adding in then I didn't pay it the day before and it would have been 10 minutes late it would have been paid after 5:45. If I had paid it on the day they said I did which I didn't and because of the 10-minute difference they want to add on 30 some odd dollars. I intend to pay this bill off with everything but the 30 some odd dollars cut up the card and announce to the world to watch them.
They are scam company. You can't get a human on the phone. You going to rotational lines for at least a half an hour and then when you finally do find the way to get him and on the phone don't suck too. These people are scam artists. They're like the guy that had the payday loans running them off of the Indian reservation so he didn't have to abide by US statutes and he's getting away with bleeding people dry. That's what these people do. I'm warning you. Don't get the card from them. It'll be your greatest regret.

I applied and received a credit one bank credit card back in August this year. In October I paid the card off in full and changed my address. No one notified me of a block or any type of identity verification requirement until 8 days after they blocked my card and I called in because I was declined when trying to use it. They claimed it was for identity verification and my account was flagged for fraud. Since when is fraud paying a card balance off in full? ($995). They requested me to send W2, a UTILITY BILL to show my address, license/ID. I sent these items over a month ago and was told because I don’t have a W2 I don’t meet the requirements for identity verification. I explained I was on disability and I also then had to send my passport. Still no communication from them about why the card was blocked or when it will be unblocked.
I was told 7-10 days almost a month ago now and no one follows up or follows through like they said they would (a manager would call me back once the documents were approved) it has literally been almost 2 months now that they have blocked my account and a month since I sent them my personal information. Makes me suspicious and think they are selling my personal information because they aren’t using it to verify my identity clearly. They told me my income verification from the federal government isn’t good enough (benefit verification letter). I feel like I’m being scammed. Is this even a legitimate company? October 7 they blocked me and had their documents 2 weeks later shortly after I find out my account. Is blocked because my purchase was declined at a store. Still no documentation of an identity verification. The company refuses to email me any of this or put anything in writing. Illegal activity here and big red flags!

Upon review, my account was charged the 'monthly' portion of the annual fee...plus interest... WHEN? you ask, "Oh the charge was on 11/17/22." Customer Service stated (called 11/18/22), that my account status was 'closed', WHEN? you ask, "Oh 6:05 PST on...11/18/22." Are you kidding me. They left the account open just long enough to charge the fee one last time and then force me to deal with it.
This is actually a really sad thing, cause if you asked me before this, I would have given them 5 stars. Not cause they are great but because they are what they say they are. You pay to get your credit rating established or re-established. That was a reasonable arrangement for a looong time... I paid this annual fee. And it worked. So if you read this far...keep notes. Get the operator's badge # and get a conf#. protect yourself. They would not indicate if it was an operator error or a human error. I have been a customer of Credit One Bank credit card services for a year. I’ve read reviews with Consumer Affairs and completely disagree with many others. Do as you’ve agreed from the onset. I pay before the due date, have never had any issues and I’ve never gone over the credit limit! It’s that simple. It’s highly recommended to take advantage of their credit protection program as well. In the time I’ve had a Credit One credit card, I’ve been offered a second card with a huge credit increase and a huge interest rate decrease. The mobile app is great! It’s very simple to use to see your transactions, watch your balance or pay your bill. It’s equally as simple to reach customer service by phone if needed. I’ve called customer service twice in 1 year and there’s never a wait time. They’re extremely courteous and efficient! What more could one ask?
Also, cash back purchases most often offset the interest accrued so take advantage of those when one can. There’s a little more work involved to see who offers cash back but it’s worth the few minutes it takes to look. They’re available for viewing and redeeming right on the app. Oftentimes I’ll pay more than 1 payment at intervals during a single month. At one point, I attempted to pay more individual payments but had reached their payment limits for the month. Yes, there is an individual payment limit per month but I prefer to make the payments in the event I’m ever in an emergency situation and need to use the card. They’ll only accept 5 payments in a 1 month period, just fyi. How is there to be any issue? Simply put, there aren’t issues. Hold up your end of the agreement made upon origination and there’ll never be a problem.
I also avoid large interest payments by making larger payments than the minimum amount due before the due date and/or paying the balance in full. Bottom line, pay as little as the minimum due before or on the due date right on the mobile app and there will never be a problem. I’d suggest more but that’s just me. They offer 2 ways to pay on the mobile app. They’ll do an express payment from a debit card (my preferred route) and it’s immediately applied or they’ll do an ACH hold with your bank, just don’t use the amount you’ve set aside to be deducted. It’s super simple and an extremely easy, streamlined app. It appears to me that people complaining about their experiences probably didn’t meet the required standards of any credit agreement, regardless of the card issuer. I can think of no other reason why there would be a problem. Don’t be that person and you’ll have no reason to complain. The rewards of your diligence will come!

I have not had any issues per se with my credit one American Express card… I went almost 10 years without using credit and although had absolutely no bad credit and paid all my bills on time on my house, free and clear, and all of my vehicles etc with a strong net worth I ultimately learned my credit score was below 600 or at 580 when it used to be 800… It took me over a year to get it back up and I was dumb enough to get the credit one American Express card. Now I’ve never carried a balance and I even used it heavily making sure each month it reported zero… The funny thing is they gave me a $500 initial limit and the day I received the card and activated it. They increased it up to $650. I’ve had it for 11 months now and have received no other increases nor have I requested an increase.
I would not recommend this card even to somebody with struggling credit there are other ways to improve your credit. Do not get a credit one card, unless you’re willing to be stuck in their bubble & speak fluent Indian or whatever language native to their customer service department. They made a couple mistakes that were very difficult communicating to get them to correct although fortunately, it did not affect my credit score which now finally is almost back to 800 again, but the only reason my credit score was able to go up that high in less than two years is because, I had no bad credit and I do have a above average income and above average net worth, and I did have previous good credit which I struggled, believing that isn’t factored in somehow, as the credit reporting agencies are intentionally evasive and incredibly complicated as there truly is no individual anywhere who truly knows and understands how they work or what truly causes a credit score. It’s one of those insane mysteries that hopefully one day will be done with, and we’ll move on to a more honest logical system for society.
If you’re looking to get Credit One, don’t. It is not even close to being like an American Express. The only similarity is the name and may be a couple of worthless so-called discounts you get that are mostly not real or they are discounts you can get without getting the credit one amex any credit one account. Capital one maybe… They are a bit better but again every individual is different. I would just discourage everyone from getting credit one. It will cost you $40-$70 a year for a ridiculously high interest rate if you carry a balance since I don’t carry any balances, I don’t care what the interest rate is. I wish there was a way to keep a good credit score without having to have any open credit cards. I hate the things lol.

After all My bank charges $5, and offers a free replacement every 2 years because cards wear out, I told him. Nor had I ever requested a new card. No such luck here. One card on sign up and a fee for a replacement regardless of why you need it. And then I was told after this rude lecture it was $25! Therefore I gave him my opinion: that this was a very, very bad business practice and the charge is excessive, outlandish and predatory. To which he rudely replied " so anything else?" I'm appalled by this interaction. I will continue with my virtual card. So glad I saved it to my virtual wallet. Still I plan to pay it off and cancel it by my anniversary date before renewal fees apply again.
Also I question if other charges and interest fees many mention are even legal. Interest charged on annual fees, interest on late fees and interest on fees in general don't sound ethical nor legal. Fees to increase one's credit line also. Avoid the entanglement keep shopping for a credit card bank.

I am no stranger to Credit cards. I currently have this Visa Card and am in the process of canceling it.. This Platimum Visa is one you don't want even if you want to rebuild credit as it won't help in that regards. It only reports to the credit bureaus about once every 2-3 months. It's so-called free credit report is highly inaccurate because they don't update it very often.
It's also EXTREMELY slow at processing your payments and then returning those amounts to available credit. It frequently takes 2-3 weeks after an electronic payment has been made before you are credited for it. So if you are a bill payer who generally pays just on time, be prepared for hassles with this company. Then it can take another 2 weeks to have that paid amount to be reapplied as available credit. You will often see your overview balance showing incorrectly that they have processed the payment and new available credit only to have your next purchase refused due to it not yet being available for use. I have argued with their staff numerous times that their available credit often lags up to a month behind when payments are made. They just claim you actually made your payments weeks after you really did.
Their customer service is by mail or phone only. And their website and app gets more and more restrictive each quarter. Their website frequently gives you errors that a contact option or menu selection from their own site is not valid. And if after waiting sometimes over an hour on phone for customer support, you will likely get a foreigner who can't speak your language well enough to even communicate. And they are seldom more than talking rule quoters or verbal FAQs. Their main goal is clearly not to assist you.
If you have a merchant do a refund on a purchase to this card and it puts your balance over $0, you will find it very difficult to get them to approve any purchase for the credit limit plus your now positive balance. The same applies to overpaying them too. For instance, if you have a $300 credit limit and a $0 balance and a merchant refunds a past $150 balance to your account, they only consider your new available credit as $150 (the amount you overpaid). If you call them and argue about this lunacy, they'll agree to send you a check for the overpay but your full available credit remains off till then. I've gone round and round with them on that.
They also have declined my purchases when the amount is fully within credit limits. When I call to ask them, they give a speech about protecting the account from what they say they thought was a "suspicious" purchase. It's their excuse for "we don't know why we declined it". Also even though I have got a pin code from them, the card has never worked in any ATM machine I've ever tried (and I've tested many). When you call them, their response was to "use the card at a bank to get the funds". So don't count on ever getting to use the tiny cash limit they say you have.
Also be aware that the average customer gets a $300 credit limit but has to pay high yearly fees for this card and high monthly interest as well. The only way to stave off the high interest rate is to constantly attempt to pay off the entire balance and keep your balance to less than 30% of the credit limit. Go over this 30% or get dinged for them setting on your payments for weeks at time and you'll find this card and company will generally cost you far more credit points rather than increase it.
I am now trying to cancel this card and am getting excuse after excuse as to why they do not get it done. 1st they of course want the balance to be at $0. But then if you don't get the amount just exactly right to the penny, they'll tell you they will mail a check to clear the balance. (I got a 32 cent check and it took weeks.) Then they tell me that that balance has changed again without new transactions and here we go again.
I regret getting involved with Credit One. They might be in Vegas but all the support I have ever received was people in a foreign country. As soon as I get them to accept the magic number to close this account and to return the remaining funds, I'm no longer going to do business with them. And of course cancelling a CC also hurts your credit, so getting their card did me no favors. I would advise anyone considering them to rethink it and see the other reviews of them. They are not the way you want to try to rebuild your credit.

I like many others had credit issues and wanted to rebuild my credit. I received an opportunity to receive the Credit One card and would use it and pay it off each month. Each month I noticed different "fees" and would ask why my printed bill would say total amount due but when I call on the phone to pay the full amount there was another "fee" that could not be explained. I stopped using the card, then when my daughter relocated, I used the card. AGAIN, received printed bill for total bill amount, called on due date and paid total amount. Called two days later to make sure my balance was zero because of issues in the past and BAM, I was told I owed $54 because I paid my bill at 8:30pm on the due date and not 5:30pm!
I requested a courtesy fee waived and representative said yes but I still owed $10 for a pending charge and then I would be at zero balance, but the charge needed to be completed before payment and the courtesy fee would take up to 24 hours to 72 hours to be waived. I called back to pay the $10 to zero my balance 4 days later and my "fees" went from $10 to $24 plus the $30 late fee that was not removed and per the representative was not recorded. I went off along with my husband! We stayed on the phone for over an hour asking where did the extra $13 come from and the representative keep giving us the run around while I am asking, "Why is there a $13 "fee"? What is this within 4 days when I was told only $10?" I paid the $24 and ask for the card to be cancelled.
I was then transferred to a "specialist" that offered me $200 extra on my credit line which I declined, and she said, "With the increase credit line of $500 you will not need to cancel your credit card. We will keep the line of credit open for you and we will waive the annual fee for 6 months." I again said, "NO CANCEL THIS CARD!" Then she said, "I have cancelled your card but look at your next bill because your billing cycle started two days ago and there are daily charges on your account that you will have to pay." I YELLED "WHAT? THEN WHAT ARE THE CHARGES? AND WHY?"
The representative said, "I am not sure." I am like, "But it is ZERO balance. What more do I have to pay, you said two days daily interest. What is it so I can pay it and be done with Credit One!" The representative replied, "You will have to wait until you receive your statement." Ladies and gentlemen don't do like I did by getting this card, GO TO YOUR BANK and GET A SECURED CREDIT CARD TO REBUILD YOUR CREDIT! This is by FAR THE WORST CREDIT CARD COMPANY! Complaint Details. I closed both my 2 accts with this company back in March 21. After being alerted by Credit Karma in June 22' that I had a past due acct with Credit One, I called credit one's customer service and explained I no longer have any accts or a balance with this company and ended up escalated to a supervisor who said It only showed me as closing one acct not both in March and that I've since been charged a annual fee, late fees and interest on this acct. I said I closed this account already but haven't used it in at least 3, maybe 4 years, which is why I closed them to begin with along with Fraud getting pretty bad. I asked him to please reverse whatever charge they gave me and close this acct for real this time. He put me on hold to research my acct. He said they'd reverse the charge and he'd close my acct for real. Now he did close the account but didn't reverse the charge.
I get alerted yesterday about my score dropping with credit one as the creditor I called credit one's customer service and spoke to a supervisor Markel who transferred me by request to a manager. Al was the manager who ended up assisting me. She said she reverse the charges but it may take up to 72 hours to reflect. I asked if she could remove it from my credit report, she said credit bureaus are who usually deals with credit issues so contact them and she gave me a Las Vegas .p.o box to send in a dispute credit one as well. I would really like more effort put into fixing this issue due to the fact that I only had an annual fee on one of my 2 accts with credit one and that's the acct I called to close the accounts originally in march last year 21' for the very same reason, annual fee.
I just decided to close both of them because right then so I didn't have to worry about it plus I was mad about the hit to my credit even though this was supposed to be taken care of. It seems the annual fee was removed but acct left open and accrued another annual fee while the one without the fee was actually the acct closed. Desired Outcome/Settlement. Desired Settlement: Correction to a credit report. None Provided.

Use it every month for small things and pay it off every month, that’s how you will get ahead. Those that have bad reviews are those that are not working the system smart, after your credit get straight, close the account if you choose to and get a regular card. This card will work if you abide by the rules and stay ahead of the game.

They took the money out of my account and turned around and said that I needed proof that the account was mine. I sent my bank statement in and a letter from the bank. Long story short, after going back and forth with them for two months. They closed my account. Question, if you thought that the account was in question of fraud, why did you continue to take money out of my account. Worst customer service experience ever.

I made a payment a couple days ago $370. On their app it showed it went through. I even received a notification that payment has processed. So I went to a store I frequent for some groceries and the register was for $80. I was "not authorized" for the purchase. So I ultimately called customer service and the operator indicated that I do not have the appropriate funds available... Needless to say, they have the worst way of doing things and if a payment is processed and it reflects it then there should be no reason for a "decline" at any register when the customer's information shows they have available funds and the amount they were using did not exceed it. This is a complete "Misrepresentation" of what is available and there is no way possible to tell what funds are available on the customer's end. Not to mention a total embarrassment!! That is wrong to do to people.

I have no complaints and thank you credit one bank for giving me a chance when no one else would. Yes the fees are high and interest rates are high, but they’re taking a chance on someone with a low credit score. It was Very easy to apply for online and they also have an app to keep track of your spending and to pay for your card. I applied for a secured credit card with Credit One bank to build my poor credit score after my own bank denied me for a secured credit card. After a couple months of paying the balance off in full each month I was given an automatic credit increase. My credit score skyrocketed!!! A year later I was pre-approved for another account with a massive credit increase. Thanks again Credit One.

Credit One is one of the worst credit cards out there. The customer service is close to non-existent. Do not expect to get respectful customer service or expedient service from Credit One. Everything is done at their pace, and they do everything they can to no satisfy your requests. Another thing, that I did not notice at first are the reviews on their website. They have mostly 5-star one-line reviews that pretty much say the same thing. It appears that they wrote much of their own reviews. Knowing what I know and what I have experienced with Credit One, I, personally, do not see how most of their reviews are 5-star. In my experience, there are better credit card companies out. Considering the annual fee, I'm not sure that it would be beneficial to even keep the card open for credit reporting purposes.

Today, I received a notification from my Credit Karma that Credit One reported me as I did not pay a fees. I tried to create a user ID and a password using the info on the card that I have never used, I found out that they charged me $75 as an Annual Fees plus late fees.
I called them to see why the late fees, they told me that this annual fees are considered as a transaction and if I missed any payment they will charge me a late fees. I told them that I am not aware that the card is activated because I tried to activate it before, they told me that they can't do anything as I had to pay the $75 annual fees on time otherwise it will be a late fees. As others have mentioned, there is an annual fee and high interest rate, but my biggest issues are the ability to make payments and their customer support. I have never encountered a bank that makes it a challenge to pay them until using Credit One Bank. I have autopay setup and have learned that I cannot make any additional payments during a seven day period leading up to the autopayment. I cannot set up the date I want the autopayment to occur. And I cannot set the autopayment to be the current balance (only the last statement balance). Every question I asked their customer service representatives required being put on hold for them to provide the answer and when trying to rectify any of the above mentioned payment issues, I have been hung up on twice now. Yes, I understand that you must pay a horrible interest rate, and a ridiculous annual fee with Credit One Bank. They're taking a risk if your credit score is not high. However, you may be one of those that WANTS to build good credit AND pay on time. But their bank seems to do things in a way that seems like they're TRYING to make you fail. Unfortunately for me, I'm one of those people that DEPENDS on getting a statement. Get my statement to me, and I'll pay consistently. They couldn't do it regular mail, so I went paperless. That didn't work either. I just got online to see when my payment is due, and lo and behold... it was due three days ago. And imagine that, I got NOTHING telling my payment was coming up. Guess going paperless means going statement-less too.
It's not hard to see they do these things purposely. They don't notify me I have a payment coming up, then they stick it to me with a $29 LATE FEE. NOT TO MENTION THAT'S A NEGATIVE MARK ON MY CREDIT SCORE. THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF WHAT I'M TRYING TO ACHIEVE!! Just think, if they can do that to a million people, they make $29,000,000.00... and not do a thing for it.
If you're thinking about getting a Credit One bank credit card... STOP. I have two other cards I've qualified for. They notify me far in advance when I have a payment coming. And then they remind me the day before. And they both DO NOT have an annual fee, and better rates. And think about this, Credit One constantly inundated me with junk mail, for years, to get my business. The carbon footprint that all the mail trucks leave to deliver their junk mail is staggering. Now combine that with the TONS of paper that go into the landfills. So not only are they screwing me with bogus late fees to fill their pockets; they're screwing Mother Earth by polluting the environment. Going paperless... What a joke. They can't even do that right.

First off if there was zero mark I would’ve gave them so that one star is not my true feelings. This won’t be short ok. I’m a apologize upfront but it’s all facts. They are quick to add fees just cause you looked at the card (the card is phony anyways). I had it for 3 months with a pitiful $300 limit (I’m starting over don’t judge me) and I used it 3x total. First monthly payment my bank account couldn’t link with them which isn’t my fault, as they state “We will send micro deposits to verify your account”. How convenient. These ** would get the .10 an .03 to me the day my bill is due. So I’m late. Next month I noticed my $300 limit is saying $370 (not limit) so I calls them and tell them exactly what happened and honestly I couldn’t tell you what they said cause you can’t understand them. I mean they’re most likely in a tent in Bangladesh.
Regardless the second month I pay the $5 for it to go thru instantly like it’s cause that’s why you pay the extra money you’d figure. So 5 days go by and I get an email saying there was insufficient funds so guess there’s another 4 to 13 different fees adding up. Once again I called those folks and tried to explain to them Their own policies but they don’t know what I’m talking about.
Long story short which is a little late for that I canceled the card and all of a sudden I got 400 and some dollar bill which the guy I canceled it with was trying to give me a credit limit increase to 500 which I told him to kick rocks and he told me that there would be no fees added on unless If I canceled my card. I’m sure you can guess they lied so my experience was miserable. Not saying you as will be but just pay attention. They got a fee for everything if you stay on hold too long. They bill your phone company if you talk why they’re talking. They bill big bill bill bill bill. Thanks for reading this if you did and if not that’s cool too. I’m a man. Honesty is very important to me so please believe everything I’m saying in this.

Never even used the card at the time by the way. As soon as I activated it, I downloaded the app and there were the fees. Didn't really have a lot of money but I paid it piece by piece. Worst mistake. The fees on this card is astronomical!! I kept getting hit with $30 fees every time I logged in because of interest. If you don't pay the statement balance in full, you have will come to regret it. Also, I recently noticed a charge on my account that I didn't authorize. I don't even use this card anymore and don't know where it is so where did this charge come from? They also charge a monthly maintenance fee of $8 on top of the other fees.
Another issue I had was that they don't want to approve you for a credit line increase on the same card. I waited a year to apply and they told me I didn't have my card long enough for an increase. Yeah right. I got a credit line increase of $500 in 6 months at another company which is the standard if you consistently make on time payments. Not to mention, I have NEVER missed a payment, they were always on time. Moving on, they magically send me another pre-approved card letter with a $800 credit limit urging me to accept, telling me it was a credit line increase. It was not. It was just another card.
So really, I would have had two cards and guess what? More fees!! When my credit started to go up because of my other cards, they tried again and sent me an offer for a card with a $1,000 balance. Of course I refused. I was approved for 3,500 at Discover when I couldn't even get an increase at a company I have been with for over a year. I wish I never got this scam of a card. I started noticing that my balance wasn't going down on the Visa but instead going up even though I paid more than the minimum and a head of the due date. The Master Card had an earlier due date each month than the Visa Card had, so I started sending both payments at the same time in their own envelopes. Still the Visa would show a late payment charge to it.
Next I sent the Visa payment by certified mail, the certified card came back unsigned and there was again a late charge on the card. This time I mailed both card payments in the same envelope and the MC was received but for some unknown reason the VC payment wasn't there. My User and Password I never changed, but for some reason I'm locked out of my account and I called customer service to reset from my Iphone so that whenever I get access to my computer I would make my payment.
Customer service a fee to make a payment with them over the phone. Also, If you forget because you're locked out when you was going to make your payment and become late there will be a late fee charged. So either way they are going to make some extra money during these hard press times, with the price of gas price going up and everything else; "so let's just make some extra money off of our consumer cardholders, lock them out of their accounts so they will have to call us to make the payment or perhaps they may even forget because it slip their mind when they went in to make the payment they couldn't so got side tracked and forgot and now they have a late fee!" "This can elaborate scheme can really work!" But I see you Credit One Bank!

I had 1 secured card and 1 unsecured card from this bank. Customer Services is the worst... Let me say that first. I swear every rep sounds the same and the paper they read off is infuriating. I have tried to request a refund on my secured card deposit which it has been months now and I still am fighting them. Every time I call, I am told to give them 7-10 business days... You mean 7-10 business months?! I have had issues contacting them and obtaining updated statements and it seems like all they know how to do is put someone on hold and come back with the same information they already provided you. If you are desperate, sure, go with them. But please look around first because this company is garbage. How do you earns points on a credit card but can't even use them?? This company is a joke!!

Before I had issues with their app, having issues again! I try signing into my account, they are supposed to send a code to my phone so I can log in and it never comes. I try to call customer service and they're almost always closed for maintenance. Try to find help online but all they give is blanket statements on how to sign in and give no actual help. The last time I was able to even reach customer service was a couple years back and they were no help at all. I ended up calling to pay my bill each month. Then they have ridiculous fees each year. It's not worth it. Avoid this company at all costs!

I called to report a fraud on one of my cards and come to find out the address did not match mine that they had on the computer. They had pulled my son's address from somewhere and linked it to my account. Well, this triggered a huge issue. Then two days later I received a call from the main office. The first lady told me that my accounts were now on hold. This was even after I just paid the card off again. I again asked to be transferred to a Mgr so the next lady got on the phone and told me that I needed to provide all types of ID and a letter from my bank. I told her that it is ridiculous and that they needed to correct the issue quickly. She told me that because I paid my cards from my company account and now that they have cleared my account until my bank letter was sent in, my account is frozen and would be close if I did not send this information in asap.
I have used this form of payment previously and the account was verified online that this was ridiculous. I asked for mgr and she told me the buck stops with her and there is not one reachable that can use common sense to see that this was just a farce. I have since sent in the requested information and now I am being told that it will be 10 days before they release the account. I want someone to look into this and make their own assessment of the issues. The rep in the office named Vannessa was the last lady that was rude and unhelpful, to say the least.

While I’m sure this card may help those with bad credit, I only got it to use at gas stations while traveling. I made a payment on the card and everything seemed fine. About 10 days later I went to use the card again and it was denied. I called customer service and found out they had placed a block on my card, not allowing me to charge anything OR make anymore payments.
I was told that this block was put in place because they thought my payment was fraudulent and would now require one of two things to unblock my account. 1) Provide them with an unredacted monthly bank statement PDF, meaning that I’m supposed to send them my bank statement with all of my charges and copies of my checks. The statement must also include the payment I made to CreditOne. Or 2) a letter from my bank on their letterhead with my account information, full name, and a statement saying that my payment to CreditOne was not fraudulent.
I’ve never had dealings with a company that calls a payment fraudulent and requires me to prove that it wasn’t but at the same time accepts that payment (it posted fine to CreditOne…and they’re still holding it). It’s sketchy at best. I couldn’t get a straight answer from CreditOne as to why there was a hold on my account. Best I could figure is it’s random and occurs so that they can get more financial fees and interest out of their customers. You’re at their mercy when you get a hold placed. Even if I am able/willing to get this personal bank information to them it will still take them 3-14 business days to let me back into my account. By that time…they’ve already charged their fees.
It goes without saying that I will be canceling this card as soon as I’m given access back to it, but wanted to give everyone a heads up about the scam they’re running. Know that it doesn’t matter if you pay on time or if your account is in good standing. It’s a random fraud alert they put onto your card that prevents you from making charges and making payments, so you can’t rely on the card since it can be shut down at any time. I’ve reported to the BBB and Ic3.gov.

I had the worst of worst experience with Credit One bank. They kept charging me over the top of some interest on some amount that I in first place wanted to dispute. Even after calling the bank many a times they did not put the transaction on dispute and started charging me interest on the amount. I consistently called their customer care and asked them to dispute the amount and they kept saying that they are waving the interest. I finally gave up and paid the whole amount and thought all my account is settled but in the absence of my knowledge they kept charging interest over the interest. Also the Sales Reps were pathetic to talk to and I felt as if no one was hearing on the other side. SR also asked me to go ahead and write the review as it won't bother them. I realized that there is no place to write a review for them thus using this platform to alert people to be saved from them.

I would not recommend this company. The good news was the absence of an annual fee. On the downside, I often can't use the card for online purchases even though I keep my balance 100% paid at all times. Next, I can't log in with the password that I know works unless I use my iPhone. I can't log in on my laptop. I just did password reset three times and it will not reset. I understand that the login is case sensitive as well as the password which is goofy but it still will not reset. Also, I tried several times to cancel paper statements and could NOT get the job done either spending a half-hour on the phone with customer service or through my online acct. I hate to cancel the card because they kindly took me when I was re-establishing my credit but they are such a pain. Did I mention you get no points for purchases?

If you're considering getting a card from Credit One Bank DON'T! They make it super easy but they also charge you insane amount of fees and interest. They charge for EVERYTHING! They even charge for a credit lint increase that they offer to you. I accepted a card, almost a month later I still don't have my card but they manage to put a $95.00 fee on it already, again I don't even have my card yet and it's been almost a month and since I don't have my card thus I can't activate the card.
When you call them, it's going to somewhere in India so chance of you getting anything done is slim. I called them asking for a new card and was told that USPS couldn't deliver to my address and send the card back. They said appears the address was wrong, so I ask them to delete the fees since it's been a month and I still don't have my card and you're putting a fee on their that's 10% of the card's credit line. The answer was: it's not our fault the address was incorrect. So I ask the representative if I am mailing you a piece of mail, the address was incorrect. Was that the sender's fault or was it the receiver's fault when all the info on the account is correct?
Their agent also lied to me trying to tell me how USPS reached out to me to tell me they could not deliver my mail. Let's be real, USPS does not reach out to anyone other than when you have a piece of certified mail when they need a signature. They don't contact you or call you for anything! This bank is shady, don't get a card from them because between all the fees you barely get to even use the card for anything.

This credit card company is by far the WORST company I have dealt with regarding credit history. Let me break down to you EVERYTHING you need to know and my experience for those considering to be involved with this card company and their options of cards. I was recommended the “Platinum” card through Credit Karma as a “build credit” card so I proceeded to apply with them. Approval and registration process was simple with the company, and BOY OH BOY I should’ve known from the jump with the APR the crap show I was about to experience with this company (details of the specific card I had below).
23.99% Variable Monthly Purchase APR (WSJ Prime + 20.74%)
$39 Annual Fee
$5.00 or 8% Cash Advance Fee (whichever is greater)
I opened this account December 2020. I only used it for emergency purchases such as gas, food, or any other necessities. I was given a $2,000 credit limit but only used at the MOST $300. (I’m not a fan of credit cards nor the credit system but THAT is another rant for another day). I’ve never missed a payment and was always on time, even with losing employment because of COVID-19. THIS IS WHERE IT GETS AGGRAVATING.
When approaching the date for the amount due OR if you’re even ONE DAY behind scheduled payment, customer service will BLOW your phone up to get in contact with you to make SURE you pay in full the amount. And let you NOT answer the phone because of, oh I don’t know, WORKING YOUR 9 TO 5, God forbid HANDLING EMERGENCIES, you know the usual DAILY TASKS, they will KEEP calling. It got to the point where I HAD TO BLOCK their customer service number — 1 (877) 825-3242 — on my phone, oooooh but it gets BETTER. I guess with them getting the memo that I had them BLOCKED they got all FANCY and started calling me off of DIFFERENT AREA CODES.
I live in South Florida so our area codes are 954, 786, 305, 754, 561, to name a few, and on my Caller ID it would show up as a wireless caller. Of course I don’t think anything of it and answer the phone because I’m used to getting inbound calls from the specified area codes, and sure enough it's a “representative” from the card company ON THE OTHER LINE. These numbers that they would call me from to list a few and LITERALLY this is JUST A FEW — (754) 336-2120, (786) 673-0080, (954) 656-2886 (give ‘em a call and tell ‘em I’m putting them ON FRONT STREET) — I would immediately BLOCK. OOOOOH, IT GETS BETTER. Somehow they STILL find a way to RING MY LINE WITH THOSE SAME NUMBERS by SPOOFING.
I became FED THE ** UP and the next call that came through WHOEVER was on the other line was going to receive all the RAGE I had built up from them because it was EFFING HARASSMENT at this point and sure enough my line said “ring-ring” and it was GO TIME. I told the representative - IRA - WHO has been the CONSISTENT REPRESENTATIVE for 2022 (because 2021 it was multiple people), about herself, the card company, the way they BOTH go about their customer service, and how if she continues to call me in the manner she does, I WILL FLIP ALL MY ** LOOSE ON HER. ITS EFFING ABSURD, is what I ended with. Ask me if I’ve gotten a call since putting HER in check. Phone been quiet. Did I mention the emails were just as the same? Ask me if I’ve been receiving any SINCE I did the same exact thing over the phone via email. You would think they unsubscribed me they damn self.
I’m already in the process of closing my account with them. This credit card company is BY FAR THE WORST IN ALL ASPECTS. I wouldn’t recommend them to ANYONE. Do yourself the favor, spare yourself the HEADACHE, and DO NOT get an account with them. Try Petal Card or American Express, both to which have exceptional customer services and protection. CREDIT ONE BANK CAN **.

My Bank said they would attempt to refuse payment but it had already posted and so I had to dispute the charge to have the funds returned to my bank account. I followed up with Credit One Bank to let them know that I had to dispute that payment but would be making payment in full on the 14th. I then received an email on April 13th stating my AMEX account had been closed. I then attempted to make an online payment to my other account and could not saying the account had been suppressed. I applied for this card when my credit was just miserable. I don't believe I was above 550. I received the card and started making purchases and paying them off immediately. Now remember, not only are you paying back your bills and any interest, but you are also paying almost $10 just to have the card. Not exactly easy for someone who is obviously in bad financial shape.
They pretend to be looking out for you and getting your credit up. As with most businesses, I find this to be lacking. I had this card for over 5 years while having moved on to other cards with much better returns. So, I can say, it did raise my credit. Well, it gave me the opportunity to. I had paid off this whole card, but they continued to charge the $10. I tried multiple times to call and cancel the card, but they transfer 5 times (not an exaggeration) and repeatedly tell you that if the call gets dropped, you the card won't be cancelled. There are no other options to cancel the card, even online in the site. After 5 years of repeated attempts, I accepted that this is just a price I will pay for getting myself into the hole I did.
I missed my first payment in those 5 years this week. I forgot, honest mistake. Saturday morning, my cell phone and work phone both have 4 missed calls from 8am to 11am. I called the company furious, telling them if I did not get this cancelled I would be looking into other channels and contacting the Better Business Bureau. The rep was very smug and asked if I could afford the $20 (with additional late payment) on my account which I happily provided to him. Magically, my card is now cancelled... after 2 additional transfers to 2 people trying to get me to stay on with free months. I told them I know it is not their fault, their company disgusts me and I do not want them to receive another dollar from me.
In summation, the card can work for what it says it does, but they are looking to take advantage of people with no money. If I had messed up when I began with the card, I imagine I would have had multiple missed calls every single day until it was resolved. No one should go through that stress and no company should put people through it. Pros: It worked. It probably cost me way more money than it should have, but my credit is now in Excellent territory. Cons: Way too many to list, but the hoops you need to go through to get out of the card should be enough for you to look elsewhere.

I let the agent know my payment is due tomorrow and no one told me Credit One needs to verify the checking account (takes up 10 days). This company froze my account after I paid my balance. They said they needed to "verify" my Chase banking account b/c it's a new credit card and required proof from the bank that I had an account there after they withdrew my payment. Why would any credit card company require a letter from the bank that my account is my account. Now I am unable to use my card until I submit a letter and yet my balance is fully paid and they took their yearly fee. It's like a damn scam and no reputable credit card company would do that. Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT get this credit card. I have had several low-base credit cards and this is the absolute worse by far. Firstly, they do not make it easy to put your bank account on their credit line. Secondly, they want you to pay that extra $8 service fee if you can't verify your bank account. I've tried THREE separate bank accounts and they all did not work through this credit card company. Lastly, the company will close your account if you miss 1 payment.
They ruined my credit score even more, even after they supposedly verified my bank account with me over the phone. I thought wholeheartedly that my payments were being made because my bank account was verified and put on Autopay, that was not the case. My credit score dropped -45 points because of the miscommunication with this company. Positive this is how they make their money, seems extremely criminal. I have 4 other credit cards that have all been paid on time the last two years. I just took this one out to get some more gifts for Christmas. I'm paying off this debt and closing the account as soon as I get paid.

I just set up a credit card account with Credit one bank. I set up for auto pay using my checking account so I wouldn’t incur any late fees. The first month I got a notice that my payment had been returned due to a closed bank account. I called immediately letting them know I’d had the same checking account for over a dozen years, there is no way it was closed. They stated that they had inverted some of my account numbers and entered them in again. The next month I got the same message, I called back again just to find out they had still input my info in to their system incorrectly!!!
Part of this problem is because they don’t have ANY staff who speak English well. With incompetent staff unable to complete even the simplest of tasks is obvious this is not a legitimate company. Their ONLY business objective is to collect fees. Interestingly enough, when I canceled my card they were able to collect the fees due from the same exact account they claim was closed. Credit One Bank customer service is lacking. Small things like a change in address are time consuming. The company outsources to India from what I can gather. The people have some issues communicating and many times leave the customer on hold for too long. The bank almost never increases account limits without some sort of payment by the consumer. They prey on people who seem to have no other choice. I called the automated line. There is no choice for cancelling the card or just plain "Customer Service". I ended up pressing "7" for reporting lost or stolen cards. I was on hold for about 5 minutes waiting and when I did get an agent, he sounded drugged.
Cancelling the card took 20 minutes! It is concerning that in this day and age when most people work from home, companies are still outsourcing labor to outside the United States. I am sure many single mothers in the states would appreciate a job they could do from home. At least the consumer would stand a chance at communicating.

By November 2021 there was a hold on my card. I tried to use my card and it was denied with no warning. Embarrassing. No fraudulent activity, no letter in the mail. I called their customer service. Just awful, it sounds like everyone is working from home and could not care less about their jobs. I've asked what I needed to do, "submit a copy of your ID so we can verify your info." Ok, no problem. I do it right when we hang up. I'm told 7-10 business days. I call back two weeks later. "We need a copy of a utility bill with your name and address on it."
My address on my license matches everything I have done with this company but ok. I ask if they were going to let me know that they needed additional information. I'm told "we mailed you a letter," I asked two different reps to tell me what date this letter was sent. Neither can provide a date. Also, they have zero issues sending me my card statement. I've submitted my driver's license & gas bill to them 6 times. Days later, I get a notification online, not by email, I have to log into their website, that there's an internal issue and to upload my documents again. Because I'm trying to improve my credit, I pay my bills on time every month usually a day or two before they are due. Unfortunately credit one bank has failed at making this easy. Initially, I would pay using their standard payment method. Within 2-3 days later I'd get a call saying that my payment was rejected due to insufficient funds. I'd always have money on the account. This happened 2 or 3 times before I decided to pay using their express payment system. The first time everything was OK. The 2nd time, I got my confirmation and checked to make sure the money came out and saw the charge on my debit card.
Almost 2 weeks later I get a call that my payment was rejected again for insufficient funds!! I paid an additional $7.99 to make sure this didn't happen. There is obviously an issue with their payment system because I have 3 cards I'm paying on and this is the only one with that issue. I'm going to cancel soon but looking at the reviews I see I'm going to have an uphill battle.

Just like the fear of rejection from a person, running your credit and putting yourself out there is a hard thing to do, especially when you always see or hear a no, but a closed mouth doesn't get fed and eventually, someone will say yes and that someone's is Credit One. Don't listen to the talk about the fees (unless you genuinely cannot afford them), don't let the APR deter you (do everything you can to pay it off monthly!). I have a Credit One credit card with a $300 limit. Three months ago I paid all my credit cards at all, and my credit rating score made a great leap forward. I open up the credit one account just to build my credit, Yes they did not report that I have paid them in full for almost 30+ days, while the other credit cards that I have updated my account immediately. I missed a payment two years ago right at the beginning of Covid, and it began making extra payments to pay off my credit debt. Credit one never failed to call me if I was one minute late. So when I paid all my credit cards off, I didn’t receive any calls, I did not receive an invoice, and logically I presume that I didn’t know anything to any of my credit cards.
Apparently credit one charges an $8.25 fee for a monthly processing fee that goes towards your yearly processing fee. This fee is calculated and is charged to your account immediately every month. Two months after I made all my payments on all the cards, I received an invoice from credit one. Of course I opened up the credit card statement, and I noticed that I had $ 78 in charges on that card. Those charges were eight dollar fees monthly and two $30 late fees, for not paying those fees. I made a phone call to credit one, livid and upset, stating that it was very important to me that my credit so progress, and I had no understanding of making any payments once I had already paid the entire amount off. I received an invoice. I made a phone call to credit one, I was very upset because it wasn’t the eight dollar fee that upset me, it was the derogatory reporting for two months of late payments.
When speaking to management, they agreed to waive the late fees for the two months, they also agreed to remove the derogatory reporting and state that it was on time and in active. Now I’m sitting at 90 days, I paid The required monthly fee, and still no changes to my report. That’s the main change to my report is that I lost more than 56 points on my score for their unethical and unfair charges. I’m livid because I’ve called several times and they have stated that they are working on it. I stated that it did not take him more than one second to report and derogatory and information, Why is it taking so long to rectify this problem. I want to close the account, open a better credit card, but I’m concerned that it will drop my score more so. I also feel like I’m being held hostage because they have done nothing but make my credit score drop points.
Again I paid all my fees off and I notice a new fee for $4.96. Mind you my entire balance was paid off yet they charged me for interest on charges for that didn’t exist. So my payment now is $12.90,. And by the way if you call and make a payment it they charge you $7.95 just to make A payment. Each month they are robbing me of around 20 bucks, and done nothing but destroy my credit and drop my rating. I make well over The average salary yet have only been given a limit of under 900$!!! Each time when asked why am I being declined I am given the run around and never a direct answer. And before you ask YES I AM OF COLOR!!

I've had this card for the better part of 8 years and did not use it for the last 12 months to avoid any balances or fees, for a $ 300.00 card I've been paying the $8.32 per month "Annual Fee" (yes they charge that monthly) that appears in the card, somewhere around $104 dollars for a $300.00 card? - Decided not to use it, had No Balance whatsoever for the past 12 months, and tried to cancel the first time, then I kept getting the bill and called in a second time to cancel. Hopefully the third time is the charm. Their website offers NO information on how to close an account and when called you are confronted with an offer of "6 months no monthly fees". Declined the offer twice, and I hope this time they get the idea of canceling and close the account -- Never again with this card as I will make a sincere effort to talk to anyone slightly interested to get it and warn them about my experience.

I paid my $194 balance 4 days ago. The payment is reflected on Credit One's website and cleared my bank, yet Credit One says I have $9 available. The money that I paid will be available in another 3 days. I work in banking so I know there is no reason why it should take a week for me to be able to use my card. I plan on canceling this card once the year is up.

So, I've has this card going on 2 years now, and to be honest, I rarely use it. I pay in full monthly if I use it. So, I actually requested a CLI because that little limit they offer is not worth it to be in my wallet. They denied it, and I was truly shocked. You saying the 2 other major cc I have can offer $5000 or more, but you offer $600. Not worth it. Will be closing. Only got it to build when I did have some hiccups, but my credit score either didn't change or was lowered because they didn't even report proper data to the 3 major bureaus. So, yeah, I'm going to give them card back and I'll continue to work with Capital One.

This Credit One Bank card has done nothing but hurt my credit score. My score has dropped over 50 points over the past few months even after making on time payments, they do not report proper balance and payments to the 3 credit bureaus for weeks. Their credit one portal lies about balances and payments. I have written several disputes against this company, worst mistake I ever made. I have a $ 60.00 balance with this company. As soon as I pay that balance I will close this account. Hoping to never hear from them again, S.M.H
