Do not get this card. Very hard to make payments, they charge you to take the payment if you are not set up with bank account. I’ve been trying to reset online app for weeks. They are no assistance, they never give credit increases even if your credit has improved, this is not the card you want to use to build your credit.

On 10/3/22, I called Credit One Bank and spoke to representative Leo at 877-825-3242 who advised me that my October payment can be deferred due to Hurricane Ian that had hit Florida. He said my next payment would be due in November. All my other credit card companies were offering the same without any reservations. I received a bill that is due 10/20/22 in the mail. I called back Credit One and spoke to rep Shecila who told me she had seen note from 10/3/22 when I spoke to Leo but they cannot defer a month's payment. They can only waive a late fee.
I also spoke to supervisor Joni who advised me the same thing. This is not what I was told by previous rep Leo and Supv Joni would not honor what he had told to me or even check with upper management to see what can be done! Now I am obligated to pay for October which is putting me in financial straits. Apparently, they need to train their representatives better before incorrect info is given out to their customers and also in certain situations to stand by what had been told to their customers even if their representative was incorrect as a one-time courtesy!! After this experience, how do I know that their representatives are giving me correct information?? I AM A VERY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER.

I was approved for this card and made my payments on time every month sometimes $50 more than the normal payment. When I went to pay through the app and told me my payment was due the 13th of October this year but then my credit limit was gone. I called them. They said my payment was due on the 7th. I tried to explain to them that the app said the 13th. They would not work with me so I feel this was predatory so I advised them I will pay the card off for and cancel it. I feel like I was ripped off in so many ways. The app gave a different date so how us as the consumer going to know that it changed?

This is the worst bunch of scumbags ever. They immediately charge you a ton of fake fees and then make it impossible to fight them by not having any way to dispute a transaction or fee. I've had the account for one month and have had to call them 11 times and spends almost 7 hours on the phone just trying to get fake fees canceled. Over time the call 'accidentally' gets disconnected. So pissed off the government allows companies like this to steal money from people. It's insane they can get away with this.
I hope everyone who works at this scumbag company gets a horrible infection so they can feel a fraction of the pain and suffering they inflict on everyone who is unlucky enough to do business with them. I've been trying to cancel the card and the only way to do it is over the phone. I've tried this an additional 5 times and over time the call gets accidentally disconnected. Over time I try to cancel the operator's exact words are "I have to transfer you now to an account specialist. If the call get disconnected, your account will remain open." Then they immediately hang up on you so the account stays open and they can keep charging you fake fees. Worst human beings ever.

Had a representation call me at 8am on a Sunday a day before my payment was due, asked if this is how they do business? Their customer service said, "Yes they call to remind you."- Sorry I am an adult and don't need 8am reminders.. Wtf. Worst 3rd world customer service ever- tried making my payments online and was unsuccessful so had to pay the fee and had to deal with customer service. Was offered a credit increase and was told there was a fee. What? Ridiculous, bad company policy. There is no reason for that.
Then closing my account was a nightmare.. RUDE rep told me they needed a reason why I was closing my account after I told her it was none of her business. She argued with me. It I told her I had terminal cancer if she needed a reason- then asked me if I was sure I wanted to close my account... Like who would ask that after after the reason I gave? Horrible rude people. You have to deal with 3rd world customer non-service. Stay clear of this card, and business practice.

There are many bad reviews, however, follow the rules and everything will be just great, high fees, what do you expect, you have bad credit, but if you pay it off every month no problem, the best way to make a payment is make payments through online banking, otherwise your payment will be held a few days to clear. Use it every month for small things and pay it off every month, that’s how you will get ahead. Those that have bad reviews are those that are not working the system smart, after your credit get straight, close the account if you choose to and get a regular card. This card will work if you abide by the rules and stay ahead of the game.

I live in Orlando Florida and these people called my 32 times asking me to pay a bill during hurricane Ian. While my house is flooding and fence and trees breaking all around me they are asking for a payment. I said I'm in the middle of a cat 4 hurricane and you are asking me to make a payment... They responded, "Sorry you are having such a rough time. When can we expect a payment." Never in my life have I been so furious at the inhumane conversation. State of emergency doesn't mean anything to them! What happens next will be their own fault

Received the Card a couple of months ago. Used it a few times. Paid it off before the due date $300 to 400 dollar payments at a time. Called customer service close the card, I told them the annual fee was too high. Customer service rep talked me into keeping the card after raising my credit limit to $500. And said I wouldn’t be charged any fees and so I agreed to keep the card. Made another $110 charge on the card to pay my AAA bill.
Paid half of the balance off before the due date like $75. Try to use the card again another day and a card would not work so I called customer service. They said the card has been shut down for fraud so I told them to send me the final bill then I would close the card and pay the bill off so I did receive the final bill for $75.33 and I called them to pay the bill and they tell me now that the card has been turned over to collections. The card was never late. How is that possible??
I told them to explain to me how that is even possible and the card was never late so the rep transferred me over to another department which said they were closed so I just wrote them a letter and mailed them a check for the full amount and told them to close the card. Sent the cut up card back to them. This is the worst credit card company I’ve ever dealt with. Seems like the right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing. They tell you all kinds of wrong answers and misinformation. I would recommend this company to anyone. I hope this review will keep other people from applying for this card. To be continued….

Credit One is horrible. They get a -10 in customer service, communications, process, and they don't give a crap about their customers. I got approved for their Wander credit card. I received the card, use it 4 times and they decided to put a fraud block on it. I sent copy of my driver license, bank statement. They didn't feel the bank statement was good enough, however o one in their organizations emailed or called me. I've sent several documents to prove I am who I am. I've spoke to numerous reps and managers. Here we are 4 weeks later the issue still have not been resolved. I've been told by managers they would call me back but that never happened. There are no words to describe how horrible this company is. My next letter is to the Better Business Bureau and the FDIC since they are a bank.

We made a payment to our credit card in the amount of $510 on August 21, 2022 from the same account and method all our previous payments have been made. Credit One accepted and posted this payment. On the app, it shows our credit available being $489. There was no correspondence to us nor did we receive our money back. However, we tried to use the card today to get supplies for a coming hurricane and there is a block on our card.
We called and found out that the last payment we made was flagged "suspicious" which was a system error. Now they are telling us 1 month later after already accepting and posting the payment we have to "validate" what was once again already accepted and posted by supplying them with our bank statement. Fine no problem, BUT they tell us it will take 3-5 or 7-10 business days. We don't have that long. For anyone who has faced a category 3 hurricane, you know the urgency in having to be prepared. Credit One is a joke and NOT a reputable company. Stay Away!!!!

Awful customer service! They charge you in order to make a quick payment which is clearly a scam in order to make people desperate for purchasing power even poorer. The only compliment I can pass along is that they have attractive card designs. Things got even worse when I called one day because of them erroneously reporting me as 30 days late on a payment, further damaging my already abysmal credit score. They then told me they're also closing my account because of a few returned payments, DESPITE the fact that I have always paid on time and have regularly gotten my account balance to zero. While sobbing on the phone to customer service they told me I couldn't do anything to stop them from closing the account, and that it couldn't be reinstated either. This company is so predatory and they can't even do the bare minimum for the well-disciplined customers like me.

I've been a longtime Visa holder since 2021. Never any problems using my card nor making on-time payments. Until it wasn't. New card that I never ordered arrived in July but I never activated, because I didn't need it. Went to pay the bill on my original card, and the website was down. This happened several times thereafter. Forcing me to call Support just to pay on my bill. Then when I finally logged in, a small balance was now showing on the newer card that I'd never used. Support seemed confused over the situation, then reissued me a newer card! I'll be glad to pay off my balance and then say buh-bye.

Made a payment, even paid the convenience fee, just for them to put a hold on my account. Told me I made too many payments and that my bank is withholding the funds - which is incorrect. The funds have been withdrawn from my checking account. They told me if I want the available credit then I have to prove to them that the money came from my checking account - mind you, this is the same checking account I have used since I got the cc. Told them I would not do their job and they need to figure it out or refund my money. Supervisor was very rude and told me that I need to stay on top of my bills.
I questioned why was I not alerted to my account being on a hold….Supervisor told me I need to set up my online account so I would be notified….I have this account set up with all alerts and it wasn’t until my husband went to get gas that was I was made aware that something was wrong. Now waiting for a refund….and will be making the very minimum payment to these fools….

This "company" is straight predatory and criminal. Opened an account in beginning of July. Did not receive the card until end of August and had a late fee for an inactivated card. Took no less that 5 days of calling to get the late fee removed. Used the card, made a payment twice the minimum and three weeks before due. Their response was to restrict my account making the card unusable. Spent three days dealing with what they call customer service to be told my account was only open to accept payments to the account. Asked why I could not access my available credit, got no answer, just told over and over again the restrictions could not be lifted.
DO NOT GET A CARD WITH THIS COMPANY. My credit score has been affected negatively due to their inability to process payments in a timely or accurate manner...and the "customer's services " are beyond atrocious. I agree with above statements that legal action needs to be taken against this horrifying excuse for a legitimate company. Credit One bank is a criminal empire to word it nicely.

After another week I called again to find out the status of the card and was told it was never mailed. I asked for a supervisor who told me we would have to start the process all over again. It's been 32 days since I first reported it stolen and no satisfaction. I cannot believe they screwed up twice and then refused to expedite the card to me somehow. Very bad customer service. If you don't pay to make the payments they don't post even if your money is in your account it will still show as insufficient funds if you use standard payment method. After three times of the payment being returned they will close your account after jacking up the interest rate and you will continue to make payments on an account that's closed and with a high interest rate and not ever be able to use it. I watched them tell me my payments were returned while watching my bank account and seeing them never even post while funds were there they would never even showed pending until I paid to make the payment via live payment. It's a scam. Now I am making payments on a closed account that barely ever goes down that's still accrues fees, I still have to PAY to make payments, and the interest prevents it from ever getting to zero.

Not very happy overall with the card. The fees are really high. The interest rate is not the greatest. There is no leeway on being late on a bill one day to 10 days. This card is good to have if you are trying to build credit. The issues that I have with this card is the poor service on the website. At any given time, a customer will have difficulty in making online payments due to the site being down. When I spoke the representative named Chaquita, I sounded like an angry bill collector and I keep my Credit One account in very good standing. Chaquita also put me on hold when I calmly informed her that I was not aware of Credit One putting a ridiculous amount of .29 cents into my account. The whole purpose of that fiasco is verify my banking account number. I sometimes wonder why they don't use a verification application to verify such information. It was just weird. I use the card if I have to because I use my debit card most of the time. But, Credit One continues to have an inadequate website and poor customer service. We contacted credit one and they told us they don't have any record and they can't help us because they sold it to the collection agency and then hung up on us when we tried talking to them more. We called the collection agency and they told us they couldn't do anything and to call credit one. We told them we did and they transferred us a couple times.
Eventually we were told to fax them everything we had and they would put it on our account. We did and never heard anything more. So I went to a store I frequent for some groceries and the register was for $80. I was "not authorized" for the purchase. So I ultimately called customer service and the operator indicated that I do not have the appropriate funds available... Needless to say, they have the worst way of doing things and if a payment is processed and it reflects it then there should be no reason for a "decline" at any register when the customer's information shows they have available funds and the amount they were using did not exceed it. This is a complete "Misrepresentation" of what is available and there is no way possible to tell what funds are available on the customer's end. Not to mention a total embarrassment!! I received two phone calls back to back but I couldn't answer because I was working. I called back and was told to call back the next day because they were closed. I called back the next day to be told that my application was denied because the phone number provided was a disconnected number. My phone has been in service for over 15 years with the same company. Yes, I understand that you must pay a horrible interest rate, and a ridiculous annual fee with Credit One Bank. They're taking a risk if your credit score is not high. However, you may be one of those that WANTS to build good credit AND pay on time. But their bank seems to do things in a way that seems like they're TRYING to make you fail. Unfortunately for me, I'm one of those people that DEPENDS on getting a statement. Get my statement to me, and I'll pay consistently. They couldn't do it regular mail, so I went paperless. That didn't work either. I just got online to see when my payment is due, and lo and behold... it was due three days ago. And imagine that, I got NOTHING telling my payment was coming up. Guess going paperless means going statement-less too.
It's not hard to see they do these things purposely. They don't notify me I have a payment coming up, then they stick it to me with a $29 LATE FEE. NOT TO MENTION THAT'S A NEGATIVE MARK ON MY CREDIT SCORE. THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF WHAT I'M TRYING TO ACHIEVE!! Just think, if they can do that to a million people, they make $29,000,000.00... and not do a thing for it.
If you're thinking about getting a Credit One bank credit card... STOP. I have two other cards I've qualified for. They notify me far in advance when I have a payment coming. And then they remind me the day before. And they both DO NOT have an annual fee, and better rates. And think about this, Credit One constantly inundated me with junk mail, for years, to get my business. The carbon footprint that all the mail trucks leave to deliver their junk mail is staggering. Now combine that with the TONS of paper that go into the landfills. So not only are they screwing me with bogus late fees to fill their pockets; they're screwing Mother Earth by polluting the environment. Going paperless... What a joke. They can't even do that right.

I transferred the balance from my Credit One AmEx card to one with zero interest at the beginning of June. The payment posted twice so on June 13th I called Credit One for a refund check; they owed me just over $1100. The service rep assured me the check had been issued and I should expect it in 7-10 business days. Three weeks later on July 6th, I called wanting to know where my refund check was, and all the rep could tell me is that it's in "pending" status and to please wait another 7 business days for it to be shipped!! Ummm.... NO. I was told it was already issued and sent. I was transferred to a "supervisor" and was told he would personally research what is going on with the check and call me back within 24-48 hours. It is now July 12th and I have heard nothing. So now I have to call AGAIN to see where my $1100 is!! If you get this card, DO NOT over pay! You will play hell getting your money back.

I call and the man says I have to wait 72 hours to access my account again. I’m just irritated by the lack of care I was just given and I usually don’t leave reviews like this but this isn’t the first incident I have had with this company but this was truly a breaking point for me. While this company is a decent stepping stone for credit improvement, they take advantage of people who can’t get anything better. Their annual fees are ridiculous and so are their late fees. I keep the balance at zero on purpose, but I found random charges on there two or three times. Every time I called they would apologize and offer an extension on my credit, which I don’t need because I don’t use the thing. But they always removed the charges. My credit was excellent two months ago, but because of some random fee, they reported the payment as delinquent and knocked it down over 50 points. Why would I check the card when I’m never using it? I was furious and shut the thing down. I have none of these issues with Capital One. If you have to use them, cancel the account as soon as you can get something better.

First off if there was zero mark I would’ve gave them so that one star is not my true feelings. This won’t be short ok. I’m a apologize upfront but it’s all facts. They are quick to add fees just cause you looked at the card (the card is phony anyways). I had it for 3 months with a pitiful $300 limit (I’m starting over don’t judge me) and I used it 3x total. First monthly payment my bank account couldn’t link with them which isn’t my fault, as they state “We will send micro deposits to verify your account”. How convenient. These ** would get the .10 an .03 to me the day my bill is due. So I’m late. Next month I noticed my $300 limit is saying $370 (not limit) so I calls them and tell them exactly what happened and honestly I couldn’t tell you what they said cause you can’t understand them. I mean they’re most likely in a tent in Bangladesh.
Regardless the second month I pay the $5 for it to go thru instantly like it’s cause that’s why you pay the extra money you’d figure. So 5 days go by and I get an email saying there was insufficient funds so guess there’s another 4 to 13 different fees adding up. Once again I called those folks and tried to explain to them Their own policies but they don’t know what I’m talking about.
Long story short which is a little late for that I canceled the card and all of a sudden I got 400 and some dollar bill which the guy I canceled it with was trying to give me a credit limit increase to 500 which I told him to kick rocks and he told me that there would be no fees added on unless If I canceled my card. I’m sure you can guess they lied so my experience was miserable. Not saying you as will be but just pay attention. They got a fee for everything if you stay on hold too long. They bill your phone company if you talk why they’re talking. They bill big bill bill bill bill. Thanks for reading this if you did and if not that’s cool too. I’m a man. Honesty is very important to me so please believe everything I’m saying in this.

I've had this card for a little over a year. When I initially signed up, I was charged a $75 fee plus a $99 fee ALL AT ONCE. This is crazy being, the limit was only $500. Never even used the card at the time by the way. As soon as I activated it, I downloaded the app and there were the fees. Didn't really have a lot of money but I paid it piece by piece. Worst mistake. The fees on this card is astronomical!! I kept getting hit with $30 fees every time I logged in because of interest. If you don't pay the statement balance in full, you have will come to regret it. Also, I recently noticed a charge on my account that I didn't authorize. I don't even use this card anymore and don't know where it is so where did this charge come from? They also charge a monthly maintenance fee of $8 on top of the other fees.
Another issue I had was that they don't want to approve you for a credit line increase on the same card. I waited a year to apply and they told me I didn't have my card long enough for an increase. Yeah right. I got a credit line increase of $500 in 6 months at another company which is the standard if you consistently make on time payments. Not to mention, I have NEVER missed a payment, they were always on time. Moving on, they magically send me another pre-approved card letter with a $800 credit limit urging me to accept, telling me it was a credit line increase. It was not. It was just another card.
So really, I would have had two cards and guess what? More fees!! When my credit started to go up because of my other cards, they tried again and sent me an offer for a card with a $1,000 balance. Of course I refused. I was approved for 3,500 at Discover when I couldn't even get an increase at a company I have been with for over a year. I wish I never got this scam of a card. I don't even use it. Now I'm stuck paying monthly maintenance fees for a card I never use. Go anywhere else.

I checked my account info and everything looked fine. No notifications that it was closed. Nothing on my overview showed the account was closed. I tried using the chat bot. But the chat bot didn't do anything. It was frozen and just said "Credit One is typing..." forever. So I called the customer service and got someone in India. She said my account was closed because a payment I made didn't go through. I was never contacted in any way.
I make payments regularly so I'm never late. But because this particular payment didn't go through, they closed my account? I have also been receiving emails from Credit One saying I was eligible for a limit increase. But in order to get the increase, I would have to pay a fee. I said "screw that!" Ripoff! I started noticing that my balance wasn't going down on the Visa but instead going up even though I paid more than the minimum and a head of the due date. The Master Card had an earlier due date each month than the Visa Card had, so I started sending both payments at the same time in their own envelopes. Still the Visa would show a late payment charge to it.

While I’m sure this card may help those with bad credit, I only got it to use at gas stations while traveling. I made a payment on the card and everything seemed fine. About 10 days later I went to use the card again and it was denied. I called customer service and found out they had placed a block on my card, not allowing me to charge anything OR make anymore payments.
I was told that this block was put in place because they thought my payment was fraudulent and would now require one of two things to unblock my account. 1) Provide them with an unredacted monthly bank statement PDF, meaning that I’m supposed to send them my bank statement with all of my charges and copies of my checks. The statement must also include the payment I made to CreditOne. Or 2) a letter from my bank on their letterhead with my account information, full name, and a statement saying that my payment to CreditOne was not fraudulent.
I’ve never had dealings with a company that calls a payment fraudulent and requires me to prove that it wasn’t but at the same time accepts that payment (it posted fine to CreditOne…and they’re still holding it). It’s sketchy at best. I couldn’t get a straight answer from CreditOne as to why there was a hold on my account. Best I could figure is it’s random and occurs so that they can get more financial fees and interest out of their customers. You’re at their mercy when you get a hold placed. Even if I am able/willing to get this personal bank information to them it will still take them 3-14 business days to let me back into my account. By that time…they’ve already charged their fees.
It goes without saying that I will be canceling this card as soon as I’m given access back to it, but wanted to give everyone a heads up about the scam they’re running. Know that it doesn’t matter if you pay on time or if your account is in good standing. It’s a random fraud alert they put onto your card that prevents you from making charges and making payments, so you can’t rely on the card since it can be shut down at any time. I’ve reported to the BBB and Ic3.gov.

Everyone as in two people, there was another person that I was forwarded to. -Continual attempts from the person you are dealing with to just close the account, there were THREE counter-offers. -Whole process to complete took 30 minutes.

I would not recommend this company. The good news was the absence of an annual fee. On the downside, I often can't use the card for online purchases even though I keep my balance 100% paid at all times. Next, I can't log in with the password that I know works unless I use my iPhone. I can't log in on my laptop. I just did password reset three times and it will not reset. I understand that the login is case sensitive as well as the password which is goofy but it still will not reset. Also, I tried several times to cancel paper statements and could NOT get the job done either spending a half-hour on the phone with customer service or through my online acct. I hate to cancel the card because they kindly took me when I was re-establishing my credit but they are such a pain. Did I mention you get no points for purchases?

They have horrible customer service representatives, outdated website and app. Personally I think it's against the fair credit act laws what they doing. If you're considering getting a card from Credit One Bank DON'T! They make it super easy but they also charge you insane amount of fees and interest. They charge for EVERYTHING! They even charge for a credit lint increase that they offer to you. I accepted a card, almost a month later I still don't have my card but they manage to put a $95.00 fee on it already, again I don't even have my card yet and it's been almost a month and since I don't have my card thus I can't activate the card.
When you call them, it's going to somewhere in India so chance of you getting anything done is slim. I called them asking for a new card and was told that USPS couldn't deliver to my address and send the card back. They said appears the address was wrong, so I ask them to delete the fees since it's been a month and I still don't have my card and you're putting a fee on their that's 10% of the card's credit line. The answer was: it's not our fault the address was incorrect. So I ask the representative if I am mailing you a piece of mail, the address was incorrect. Was that the sender's fault or was it the receiver's fault when all the info on the account is correct?
Their agent also lied to me trying to tell me how USPS reached out to me to tell me they could not deliver my mail. Let's be real, USPS does not reach out to anyone other than when you have a piece of certified mail when they need a signature. They don't contact you or call you for anything! This bank is shady, don't get a card from them because between all the fees you barely get to even use the card for anything.

Do not sign up for this credit card. I have enough credit cards but signed up for this one because they supposedly give a percentage back to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah, and I love what that organization does for animals. Anyway, I got an email from them with an offer of a $25 statement credit if I spent $500 in the month of April. It said no login required, just click to activate. I checked the email over very carefully, looked legit. I clicked. It took me to the Credit One login page. So much for no login required. I called their customer service number to find out what was going on. After two hours and five phone calls, I was told it was a scam by five different customer service reps including a manager. Finally, the last rep in the fraud department dug a little deeper only to find out that it is a legit offer for select customers!! Why did it take two hours and five reps to discover this??? Do not get this card. I will be canceling mine.

This credit card company is by far the WORST company I have dealt with regarding credit history. Let me break down to you EVERYTHING you need to know and my experience for those considering to be involved with this card company and their options of cards. I was recommended the “Platinum” card through Credit Karma as a “build credit” card so I proceeded to apply with them. Approval and registration process was simple with the company, and BOY OH BOY I should’ve known from the jump with the APR the crap show I was about to experience with this company (details of the specific card I had below).
23.99% Variable Monthly Purchase APR (WSJ Prime + 20.74%)
$39 Annual Fee
$5.00 or 8% Cash Advance Fee (whichever is greater)
I opened this account December 2020. I only used it for emergency purchases such as gas, food, or any other necessities. I was given a $2,000 credit limit but only used at the MOST $300. (I’m not a fan of credit cards nor the credit system but THAT is another rant for another day). I’ve never missed a payment and was always on time, even with losing employment because of COVID-19. THIS IS WHERE IT GETS AGGRAVATING.
When approaching the date for the amount due OR if you’re even ONE DAY behind scheduled payment, customer service will BLOW your phone up to get in contact with you to make SURE you pay in full the amount. And let you NOT answer the phone because of, oh I don’t know, WORKING YOUR 9 TO 5, God forbid HANDLING EMERGENCIES, you know the usual DAILY TASKS, they will KEEP calling. It got to the point where I HAD TO BLOCK their customer service number — 1 (877) 825-3242 — on my phone, oooooh but it gets BETTER. I guess with them getting the memo that I had them BLOCKED they got all FANCY and started calling me off of DIFFERENT AREA CODES.
I live in South Florida so our area codes are 954, 786, 305, 754, 561, to name a few, and on my Caller ID it would show up as a wireless caller. Of course I don’t think anything of it and answer the phone because I’m used to getting inbound calls from the specified area codes, and sure enough it's a “representative” from the card company ON THE OTHER LINE. These numbers that they would call me from to list a few and LITERALLY this is JUST A FEW — (754) 336-2120, (786) 673-0080, (954) 656-2886 (give ‘em a call and tell ‘em I’m putting them ON FRONT STREET) — I would immediately BLOCK. OOOOOH, IT GETS BETTER. Somehow they STILL find a way to RING MY LINE WITH THOSE SAME NUMBERS by SPOOFING.
I became FED THE ** UP and the next call that came through WHOEVER was on the other line was going to receive all the RAGE I had built up from them because it was EFFING HARASSMENT at this point and sure enough my line said “ring-ring” and it was GO TIME. I told the representative - IRA - WHO has been the CONSISTENT REPRESENTATIVE for 2022 (because 2021 it was multiple people), about herself, the card company, the way they BOTH go about their customer service, and how if she continues to call me in the manner she does, I WILL FLIP ALL MY ** LOOSE ON HER. ITS EFFING ABSURD, is what I ended with. Ask me if I’ve gotten a call since putting HER in check. Phone been quiet. Did I mention the emails were just as the same? Ask me if I’ve been receiving any SINCE I did the same exact thing over the phone via email. You would think they unsubscribed me they damn self.
I’m already in the process of closing my account with them. This credit card company is BY FAR THE WORST IN ALL ASPECTS. I wouldn’t recommend them to ANYONE. Do yourself the favor, spare yourself the HEADACHE, and DO NOT get an account with them. Try Petal Card or American Express, both to which have exceptional customer services and protection. CREDIT ONE BANK CAN **.

My Bank said they would attempt to refuse payment but it had already posted and so I had to dispute the charge to have the funds returned to my bank account. I followed up with Credit One Bank to let them know that I had to dispute that payment but would be making payment in full on the 14th. I then received an email on April 13th stating my AMEX account had been closed. I called asking why and that I was going to make payment as promised on the 14th but was told I would need to submit a statement from my bank and a letter to why the payment was being disputed. REALLY????
I then attempted to make an online payment to my other account and could not saying the account had been suppressed. SO I called AGAIN... and was told for security reasons they would need a statement from my bank regarding payment so the account could be released. I then told her to close both accounts. This is totally unacceptable business practice.

I applied for this card when my credit was just miserable. I don't believe I was above 550. I received the card and started making purchases and paying them off immediately. Now remember, not only are you paying back your bills and any interest, but you are also paying almost $10 just to have the card. Not exactly easy for someone who is obviously in bad financial shape.
They pretend to be looking out for you and getting your credit up. As with most businesses, I find this to be lacking. I had this card for over 5 years while having moved on to other cards with much better returns. So, I can say, it did raise my credit. Well, it gave me the opportunity to. I had paid off this whole card, but they continued to charge the $10. I tried multiple times to call and cancel the card, but they transfer 5 times (not an exaggeration) and repeatedly tell you that if the call gets dropped, you the card won't be cancelled. There are no other options to cancel the card, even online in the site. After 5 years of repeated attempts, I accepted that this is just a price I will pay for getting myself into the hole I did.
I missed my first payment in those 5 years this week. I forgot, honest mistake. Saturday morning, my cell phone and work phone both have 4 missed calls from 8am to 11am. I called the company furious, telling them if I did not get this cancelled I would be looking into other channels and contacting the Better Business Bureau. The rep was very smug and asked if I could afford the $20 (with additional late payment) on my account which I happily provided to him. Magically, my card is now cancelled... after 2 additional transfers to 2 people trying to get me to stay on with free months. I told them I know it is not their fault, their company disgusts me and I do not want them to receive another dollar from me.
In summation, the card can work for what it says it does, but they are looking to take advantage of people with no money. If I had messed up when I began with the card, I imagine I would have had multiple missed calls every single day until it was resolved. No one should go through that stress and no company should put people through it. Pros: It worked. It probably cost me way more money than it should have, but my credit is now in Excellent territory. Cons: Way too many to list, but the hoops you need to go through to get out of the card should be enough for you to look elsewhere.

I went to the website to try to access my account in fear I was being bombarded with late fees etc.. I could not access my account there either. Password recovery was painful and after all that, I was still unable to log in after setting a new password. I called customer support, firstly there were no menu options to speak to representative and every number listed on the customer support page goes to the same menu. I stayed on the line for maybe 10 minutes letting the menu options cycle and eventually my call was received overseas by a representative who would not even listen to my issues without announcing my full SS# over the phone (even though I had to enter it to even initiate the call).
I called again and asked to be connected to a supervisor. This process (the second call) took about 20 minutes. This representative was also unable to provide any useful information. I noticed that the interest rates was over the top so I decided to close both of my accounts and pay them thru the refinancing of my home. When I sent in the check from the escrow account they had reversed the accounts and ended up getting charged for late payments which reflected on my credit status. So I called them up and explained to them what happened and they did not want to give a credit of the late payment fees. I demanded they do and would not accept anything less.
Since then, I had to call them back up and wanted to be transferred to account services and the rep did not want to transfer me. So I was getting heated and he hung up on me, so I called back. Once I got transferred I finally got to the department that I needed and made the last payment of 961.05 So now I'm done with them and I really hope that no one else applies with them for credit. When I called customer service he said go anywhere but there and it can be used. It was so late by then. I called my wife to meet me for supper (good dinner), handed the card to the waitress to pay the bill, she came back and told me that it had been declined! Thank goodness I had my usaa card with me. I let the agent know my payment is due tomorrow and no one told me Credit One needs to verify the checking account (takes up 10 days). They prey on people who seem to have no other choice. I called the automated line. There is no choice for cancelling the card or just plain "Customer Service". I ended up pressing "7" for reporting lost or stolen cards. I was on hold for about 5 minutes waiting and when I did get an agent, he sounded drugged.
Cancelling the card took 20 minutes! It is concerning that in this day and age when most people work from home, companies are still outsourcing labor to outside the United States. Just awful, it sounds like everyone is working from home and could not care less about their jobs. I've asked what I needed to do, "submit a copy of your ID so we can verify your info." Ok, no problem. I do it right when we hang up. I'm told 7-10 business days. I call back two weeks later. "We need a copy of a utility bill with your name and address on it."
My address on my license matches everything I have done with this company but ok. I ask if they were going to let me know that they needed additional information. I'm told "we mailed you a letter," I asked two different reps to tell me what date this letter was sent. Neither can provide a date. Also, they have zero issues sending me my card statement. I've submitted my driver's license & gas bill to them 6 times. Days later, I get a notification online, not by email, I have to log into their website, that there's an internal issue and to upload my documents again. I will probably take the hit on my credit and close my card just to never have to deal with them again. If they ever lift the block on my card, to begin with, that is...

My account was current, I was not over limit and had received no notification of any issue with my account. When I called I was told they needed to verify my identification. I needed to send a copy of my driver's license and current utility bill thru the website. I have now sent the documents 12 times by fax, email and the website.
Several days after each submittal I receive a notice they could not open the documents due to an “internal error” please resend! I have spoken to general staff supervisors and managers. I have written 2 letters and still my account is restricted. Today someone promised to look into it and call me back. I’m still waiting for that call. I am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in hopes they can help. If not I will probably close my account and take the hit in my credit that I have been trying to rebuild. Going forward I will research reviews before applying for another card. My advise is to stay away from Credit One Bank.

The company says that you're approved then does nothing to finish the process for certain individuals. Even if they need more information they just do not contact you. When you call there you get no information. They put a hard inquiry on my credit report twice for being approved and I still have not received a card or been contacted. After they falsely pre approve you for a marketing scam they sift through the applications and pick and choose certain ones, while just ignoring others. After they do the hard inquiry and lower your score there is no information available. I tried calling and all you get is it's in process, with no answers or guidance. I applied for this card in the summer of 2021 because it was recommended to work on repairing my credit. Because I'm trying to improve my credit, I pay my bills on time every month usually a day or two before they are due. Unfortunately credit one bank has failed at making this easy. Initially, I would pay using their standard payment method. Within 2-3 days later I'd get a call saying that my payment was rejected due to insufficient funds. I'd always have money on the account. This happened 2 or 3 times before I decided to pay using their express payment system. The first time everything was OK. The 2nd time, I got my confirmation and checked to make sure the money came out and saw the charge on my debit card.
Almost 2 weeks later I get a call that my payment was rejected again for insufficient funds!! I paid an additional $7.99 to make sure this didn't happen. There is obviously an issue with their payment system because I have 3 cards I'm paying on and this is the only one with that issue. I'm going to cancel soon but looking at the reviews I see I'm going to have an uphill battle.

After speaking to my bank they blocked Credit One from pulling anything from my savings. In the interim I called four times to make payment, they again tried pulling from an old closed account. I paid my card in full each month. I have contacted Credit One 4 different times to no avail. Not one English speaking person. I could not understand The person and they could not understand me. Finally the supervisor hung up on me without resolving my issue. No explanation as to why they were pulling from a old closed account? No explanation! I will close this account and never open again. Kept getting hung up on. I had let the card sit and didn’t use it. After a few weeks I thought I better activate the card and called the number on the back of the card only to find out I had a balance. A 109.00 balance. My bad. I didn’t read the fine print. Also, the due date was the day before I made the call. Total panic.
Finally I get someone on the phone that explains to me that I was charged 75 dollars for a yearly fee, and 6.75 for a monthly fee, and because all this was due the day before they charged me a 28 dollar late fee. All this before I even use a card I never activated. I became very upset. Nothing I could really do. I told the rep that I wanted to pay the bill in full and cancel the card. Oh No, dude started saying I shouldn’t do that as it would severely affect my credit. I tell him to cancel the card anyways. That I thought it was a legit Capital One Card, not a high risk card. I have finally opened a successful bank account with a local credit union, started looking at credit much more seriously and developed a huge drive to not only fix my credit, but to get approved for the best cards I NEVER DREAMED of getting approved for before, and all of this is thank to Credit One giving me a yes on my application.
Just like the fear of rejection from a person, running your credit and putting yourself out there is a hard thing to do, especially when you always see or hear a no, but a closed mouth doesn't get fed and eventually, someone will say yes and that someone's is Credit One. Don't listen to the talk about the fees (unless you genuinely cannot afford them), don't let the APR deter you (do everything you can to pay it off monthly!). This card started my growth, and in just shy of 2 years since I started I now have 4 other cards with limits exceeding 4k a piece, a used car loan, and a fico score on the verge of 710. I have a Credit One credit card with a $300 limit. Three months ago I paid all my credit cards at all, and my credit rating score made a great leap forward. I open up the credit one account just to build my credit, Yes they did not report that I have paid them in full for almost 30+ days, while the other credit cards that I have updated my account immediately. I missed a payment two years ago right at the beginning of Covid, and it began making extra payments to pay off my credit debt. Credit one never failed to call me if I was one minute late. So when I paid all my credit cards off, I didn’t receive any calls, I did not receive an invoice, and logically I presume that I didn’t know anything to any of my credit cards.
Apparently credit one charges an $8.25 fee for a monthly processing fee that goes towards your yearly processing fee. This fee is calculated and is charged to your account immediately every month. Two months after I made all my payments on all the cards, I received an invoice from credit one. Of course I opened up the credit card statement, and I noticed that I had $ 78 in charges on that card. Those charges were eight dollar fees monthly and two $30 late fees, for not paying those fees. I made a phone call to credit one, livid and upset, stating that it was very important to me that my credit so progress, and I had no understanding of making any payments once I had already paid the entire amount off. I received an invoice. I made a phone call to credit one, I was very upset because it wasn’t the eight dollar fee that upset me, it was the derogatory reporting for two months of late payments.
When speaking to management, they agreed to waive the late fees for the two months, they also agreed to remove the derogatory reporting and state that it was on time and in active. Now I’m sitting at 90 days, I paid The required monthly fee, and still no changes to my report. That’s the main change to my report is that I lost more than 56 points on my score for their unethical and unfair charges. I’m livid because I’ve called several times and they have stated that they are working on it. I stated that it did not take him more than one second to report and derogatory and information, Why is it taking so long to rectify this problem. I want to close the account, open a better credit card, but I’m concerned that it will drop my score more so. I also feel like I’m being held hostage because they have done nothing but make my credit score drop points.
Again I paid all my fees off and I notice a new fee for $4.96. Mind you my entire balance was paid off yet they charged me for interest on charges for that didn’t exist. So my payment now is $12.90,. And by the way if you call and make a payment it they charge you $7.95 just to make A payment. Each month they are robbing me of around 20 bucks, and done nothing but destroy my credit and drop my rating. However, they don't call or send a notice of any kind, you just can't use the card. Credit One wants a bank statement AS-IS, with all the transactions and balances, and wanted me to also include my FULL bank account number and routing number.
Otherwise they want your bank to submit a payment verification on bank letterhead stating the account holder authorized the payment, the account holder's name and the name and contact info for the person drafting the letter from the bank. Even when they accept auto-payments from the account (towards the remaining $75 annual fee), your card remains blocked. Seems like they have false advertising, make money off the annual fee and then don't allow you to use your card...in addition to wanting all your bank account information. There is no documentation that a proof of payment is needed to use the card, nor do they contact you to let you know the card is suspended or to give you status updates of your case once you upload documentation. You just can't use the card. Absolutely ludicrous.

I was happy to have an AMEX card with this bank at first. I knew of the fees. No problem there. But the other credit cards I own, as long as I pay by the date listed. No problem. This company charged me a late fee for paying on the date the bill was due. I'm on SSDI and get paid every month on the 3rd. The date due was the 4th and was told BY A PERSON, that this wasn't a problem. I paid on the 4th to only find out that I was charged a $29 late fee. I called their phone number the next day. First to rescind the late fee, since this was my 2nd month owning this card and the other was to move the day of payment, just 2 to 4 days, because people on SSI or SSDI, get paid once a month and you pay your bills then. Credit One Bank didn't wish to do either but by escalating the call and waiting the 1.5 to 2 hrs, I got them both changed.
There is no email or otherwise contacting them with today's technology. Just 1-800 number. A long time to wait. Time is what I have. This card will be paid off shortly and will be used only for emergency uses. My other credit cards will be getting my business. What I find confusing, where stores accept AMEX, this card gets rejected or turned down from the shop owners. When I point out to business owners that they accept AMEX, they have an excuse of turning it down. I was told by more than one business that they didn't trust this company for one reason or another. I'm not in the business of knowing but it definitely opened my eyes.

Credit One Bank specializes in credit card banking for customers with less than perfect credit. Their main offering is low line-of-credit cards for customers who want to rebuild their credit. Their business strategy is great for short term (less than one year), but beyond 1 year, doesn't make any sense to use. For example, at the end of 1 calendar year as an account holder, they'll bill you $39 annual fee. If your balance is $0, and you never use the card, you might forget this $39 fee exists, and not pay it. After so many days overdue, they'll add a $20 late fee. And if your bank should be low on funds, a $35 returned item fee. So now we're at $94 in fees, all because one $39 charge didn't go through.
The emphasis on assisting the customer with their credit issues is high, but when the customer needs the help, Credit One Bank stabs the customer in the back. Their customer service is near impossible to reach on the phone, and very little information exists online. I had to use the online service "Get Human" to wait on hold for me to get a person. After 35 minutes, my phone rang, and I had a Credit One Bank rep on the line. The representative was nice, and understanding of my issue. Ultimately, I cancelled my card because of their business practices. I was hoping for a better outcome, but did not receive it.

I was told the reason they close my account because a few payments didn't go through which the bank doesn't take payment until the following day. Which I don't understand that either. & I said because other bills was due at the same time, it was just a error but I still don't see the problem if I'm always making payments early & I'm never late. I don't have this problem with my other credit cards. Credit One sucks, this company wasted my time & money. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. They close my account for no reason. Credit One don't get no stars for me. Disgusted.

I attempted to use the card online and was declined many times. The purchase amount was less than my available credit. I talked to 2- reps, 1 supervisor, and two managers that all gave me inconsistent info and I still can't use the card. They advised my cash advance balance is $75. I let them know the transaction I am making is not a cash advance. I explained I don't have a PIN to this card and never intend on getting on. I was then told that this card is intelligible for balance transfers. I am not trying to deposit money to another credit card or a bank account. All their reps said nothing is wrong with the card and I should be able to use it. I then called the merchant where the transaction was attempting to be made and they confirmed that using a credit card for transactions on their site are not tied to cash advances or cash deposits.
The merchant confirmed the denial is on the Credit One Bank side and they would have to release the charge as a credit purchase. The four people told me four different answers why the card was declining. The manager Mick and Shawn said two totally different stories to me, that was different from the supervisor's story and the two reps' story. This is a fraudulent card that doesn't hold up to what their policy says. If I could rate them a negative 10 I would. A score of one is too modest for this company. This company will only allow charges that they want to go through. This card is useless to me and I would recommend that everyone think twice before taking this card.

So first off, I’ve been a customer for a year now and I am transferring this account to USAA. These people charge a BIG annual fee, and a fee to pay the bill over the phone. They call you like every two days within the billing cycle if you are behind. I found this out after my debit account was deactivated by my bank for fraud. It’s a family owned business because I have gotten the same four people so far with lots of background clutter. Very pushy and greedy even after I told him the issue.
I still have 17 days to pay it. He rudely asked me if there was money in my account. No formalities, no name just straight to the point like the next step was to send leg breakers after me. This is a shady, and annoying family company with the one annoying guy that has no people skills. They don’t know it, but again, you can tell they all live in the same house because I heard the girl training him in the background months ago. And yes, he’s still an ass hat. You have been warned..

My score took a knock to the lowest of lows. This credit card is a business venture and not a way for you if you struggling to make ends meet! The customer service is run from India I presume so you won’t get any help, if you eventually get someone on the line and you ask them too much they just hang up!

After having a bankruptcy I was happy to get things moving along with a new credit card from Credit One. I tried to maintain perfect credit payments, but my attempts actually cost me in a big way. I wound up trying to pay my card off entirely each month, 2 payments reversed from my bank because it was in the overdraft zone. What happened next was my card was closed, my credit score sank to new lows and my life was thrown back into a place I don't wish anyone. I tried to explain the situation to Credit One, but they were not helpful and they blamed the bank. I paid my bill in full soon after. For 2 years I tried reapplying because this is the next card in the steps to rebuilding credit. I kept getting run around and error codes.
I was told it was the app I was using responsible for my denial, then I was told I had a open account and then finally that I had a closed account with a balance. Now I just called them and they said it was because of suspicious activity on my old account. Which is it Credit One? Now they treat me like a criminal for trying to apply for a credit card. It's so frustrating because for the last year during this pandemic I had many fees and interest charges I would have never had if I had just avoided ever dealing with Credit One bank. I had to take out loans with 1700% interest because of this card closure and the damage it did to my credit after their surprise closure of my card. I'd recommend people stay away if at all possible, but I know it's often one of the early cards for rebuilding credit. I don't feel I was treated well, or even humanely by this card company.

This has to be by far the WORST credit card company I've ever experienced. I recently got a new credit card with them, with a small credit line of $300. I have higher credit lines that I have never missed a payment. After 1 month I paid $100. Since I was 10 days late because of an issue with my deposit, I get SIX PHONE CALLS every 15-30 minutes in 2 hours. At first I didn't even know it was them. They did not leave any voicemails until the 6th phone call. I called them back and expressed how disturbing and creepy it was to get called, and they explained to me that they do it (for my sake) so that they don't report me negatively to the credit bureau. Which is understandable, but then she wanted to social security number and personal info.
Seriously lady? You want me to give you my PERSONAL INFORMATION AFTER YOU CALLED ME SIX TIMES? You think I'd trust someone who calls me 6 times in 2 hours? No way I said. So then she'd have to take the time to verify that the company is legitimate. All that time wasted. Could've left a message after the 1st call. I'm paying off the $213 and closing out my card. Will never do business again with people who will harass you like that.

Let me start by saying I am very thankful to Credit One for giving me the chance with no deposit on my initial card. I have had their card since December of 2019 and love it! I started with a $300 limit and used it wisely paying all fees on time and as of now have about 11 cards as they just approved me for $1500 on another card! I see many people complaining about fees and such, they make this VERY clear when you apply for the card. If you can't afford the fees...don't get the card. There are cards out there with no fees like the Capital One Secured Visa which is what I started on with a $250 deposit over a year ago.
Since I have been with Credit One I have had absolutely ZERO issues with this company and will continue to use their services. I have approximately 14 accounts in total and have not missed one payment. This is because if I have an issue I don't wait until my closing date or due date to address it. I check all my accounts daily even if it is tedious, it's responsibility. If you can't afford $99 a year then you probably shouldn't have a credit card as the interest on a card adds to that and this is MADE CLEAR WHEN YOU APPLY. If you dont have the income, do what I have done, go work at Sonic and put in 50-60 hours a week.
These companies take a high risk as most people are NOT honest about their actual income then blame the card companies because they don't do the math BEFORE getting a card to see what the interest would be with a $300 card maxed with $99 in fees every year so let me try to help. So, if you have $300 and it's maxed with a 29% interest rate that's about $87, then you have the $99 fee every year. So that's actually $186. If you make the minimum payments of $30 it will take FOREVER to pay off that balance. So in total you would have $486 for that year if you maxed the card. In order to pay that card off in 12 months you would have to have a minimum payment of about $45 each month. These are rough numbers but it's to give a general idea.
In closing, Credit Cards are not YOUR MONEY. It is BORROWED money and should only be used sparingly, in an emergency, or to invest bringing in more than what your TOTAL credit line is. Literally, 11 cards and 3 merchant accounts all above 25% interest on a median income of $52k a year with about $1500 in car, truck, and insurance payments and never missed a payment. Stop blaming these companies for y'all's shady practices for not reading and doing the math BEFORE getting these cards. They make it VERY clear if you READ about the $7 design fee.

I knew there was an annual fee when I signed up. I planned on just paying for the first year and then cancelling before they charged me an annual fee for the second year. The customer service is terrible. It takes too long to get past the automated system because there is no clear route to ask for a human representative. There is actually no option to choose from if you wanted to cancel your card. I had to choose to make an express payment just to get to someone.
I finally reached an "account specialist" and I explained that no longer wanted the card because I had been approved for better card which do not have an annual fee. He tried to give me an offer of a $20 credit to offset the next 3 months of my annual fee which would have been $8.25 a month. I could have appreciated the offer if the math actually added up correctly. ($8.25 x 3 = $24.75). He then went on to say that they can possibly provide a better offer during my next evaluation. If you had a better offer to give then why not offer it to me immediately instead of trying to trick me into still paying $4.75 towards an annual fee. For all I know, I could've been liable to pay the remainder of that years annual fee if I chose to cancel it after those 3 months have passed.
I explained to him how I did not like the offer and just do not want to deal with a credit card that has an annual fee written on the agreement. I didn't get a response. In fact there was no longer another person on the other line. I was still connected but I didn't hear anything. I then had to call again and found out that my card was cancelled. So their "account specialist" attempted to negotiate with me to keep my business with them only to just cancel my card after I rejected their first offer. Not only that but they did not give me any confirmation that my card was cancelled. I would have been open to better offers or to possibly just have the annual fee waived, but instead they chose to try and deceive me and then discard of me as a customer. The only good thing is that their phone app works.
