Scam! They will double charge fees and argue with you, say they will fix it and don't, not report for months you've paid, I have an entire month missing from my payment history, ridiculous, I've made higher payments than the minimum on time every month and get double charged, they increase the fees and annual fees with notifying you, they double charge, it's hard to get in touch with a live person, the ones you do get are obviously coached to twist things around and not do anything, I reported them to BBB.

DO NOT DO IT!!!! Bad, bad, bad company!!!! If I could do 0 I would. They keep putting things on my credit. While I’m still making my payments. They sold my account saying I didn’t make payments when I just paid them $60 in the beginning of June. My bill isn’t due til the 24th every month. Saying I’m not paying. And my credit has dropped almost 125 points because of their little “remarks” they keep putting.

They kept locking my account even after I verified purchase attempts via SMS. You have to report your card stolen just to be able to talk to a live agent and don't expect to be able to communicate very well. A helpful hint is to ask to speak to someone in the United States. They also reported a high credit usage for the month and late payment due to their error. I was hoping to keep this card as one of my longest lines of credit but it's way too much hassle and will hurt your score.

Worst customer support. Worst customer relationship. They closed my card without my permission. The call center in India and it is hard to understand them. Also, if you have a negative balance on your card, you need to call them every single day until you get your money back. The communication is the worst.

I had Credit One bank for 7 years. Never a late payment. Not 1 late payment in 7 years. I had closed a bank account and accidentally paid with the closed account instead of my new account. I immediately caught the error and paid with my new account. They closed my account due to the returned payment. I am in the middle of purchasing a home and it is crucial to have no changes to my credit. When I called to ask them why they closed my account without even some type of notification they said it was due to the returned payment.
1 returned payment in 7 years. They asked if I wanted to reinstate my account and of course I said yes because the closed account will screw up my credit. They said I wasn’t eligible to reinstate this account. I can apply for another card though. How does that make sense that you won’t reinstate my account but you will open another account for me. The customer service is terrible and they have ruined my credit for buying a home. I would stay far away from this company. If I could give negative stars I absolutely would.

Fraudulent, disruptive and dishonorable practices will leave you speechless. Once you pay your bill in full, they will begin to stop the card, question funds received to pay your bill, and demand personal bank statements and other documents to be sent in for their review, only to claim they never received them. If you have had a similar experience I urge you to file a complaint with the Comptroller of the Currency and your state attorney general's office. These guys have to be put out of business.

I have had my Credit One account since March of 2024. I have made every payment on time, even multiple payments a month. I prefer to use my credit card for daily purchases just in case of fraud, that way my bank account doesn't get affected. I made an express payment through their app and apparently the app changed the payment type without my permission. Well I made the payment so that I can use my credit card this weekend while I am away on vacation so I don't have to risk my bank account.
Not only did every representative refuse to help me, but the managers and account specialists were downright rude. Then today I find out my account is frozen until I can send in bank statements proving that the payment I made posted. On what grounds? I have never missed a payment or had a returned payment. My account track record is impeccable with them. Still I took a screenshot of the posted transaction and emailed it to them, only for them to tell me that I now need to wait at least 10 days to use my card. I need the funds for this weekend! How can they restrict my account for proof of payment when every payment I have ever made with them has never failed?

BUYER BEWARE - I got a $300 limit card, unsecured. I used it for some groceries, with the intent on paying it off at the end of the month. They gave me two options "express payment" which charges 5% or something or ACH draft. I chose the express, not realizing the options, and my credit was available in two days, and the money came out. Next month I paid it via ACH. It's two months now and the credit limit is still unavailable. I call and they say I have to send them a full copy of my last bank statement to prove it's my account. Bizarre... They had no problem TAKING the money out.
They claimed my bank couldn't verify it was me. I called my bank and they have no record of this and that there's no such thing. My name and ACH go through just fine - payment is the verification. These people feel like they're running a racket. I had the account closed right away. DO NOT GET THIS CARD. You will be sorry. I am out 60$ for the "fee" they charged me for the "privilege" of having this card.

They only allow you to make 2 payments a month max and only 1 per 24 hour period. Customer service sucks big far you know what. They do speak English cause they are from India but the men are super rude especially to women. You can't use the card anywhere. It comes back invalid. Record the conversation but don't tell them they advise you it's a recorded line so you don't one person only has to in the conversation. If I could give zero stars I absolutely would. If you are searching for a company to establish credit or to get a card skip Credit One bank. Bill always paid on time and paid off every month in full. There was a 1700$ fraudulent charge made on my card. I reported the charge and they came back and said it was a valid charge because it was made in store with the card. The charge was made in Arkansas. I live in North Carolina. Never in my life have I even been close to Little Rock. They told me unless I could prove I wasn't there that I was responsible for this charge that I did not make.
The transaction does not show on my statement or on the app in my transaction list. Seems a little fishy to me. There were charges made on the 14th in NC and a payment was made on the account on the 15th. They then proceed to send a letter stating again their refusal to see this as fraudulent because they said the chip was used in store. Then said that this letter serves as a final resolution. No. I am sorry. It is not a final resolution.
We are now in the process of filing a theft report with Little Rock Police and have contacted the store in question requesting documentation of the charge. We are also making a complaint to Credit One Bank's Regulator, The Federal Trade Commission and The Consumer Protection Bureau. Their customer service people are rude, when you have a complaint they refuse to talk with you even when you prove your identity then when you explain the problem they put you on hold and then proceed to hang up on you. I would think long and hard before giving hard earned money to this company who doesn't care one bit about their customers.

I would NEVER recommend Credit One to anyone. I was a few months behind on my card payments. I called on or about May 7th to let them know I planned on paying my account, in FULL at the end of the month. I just wanted to make sure my card was still in good standing and not closed. The representative assured me my account was still active. Made no mention about at least doing the minimum amount at that moment and said they would document and notate that I was paying in full at end of the month.
I call up as I said again a few weeks later to pay in full and lo and behold my credit was revoked and couldn’t be reinstated. So I can pay full amount but my card is gone for good. I was furious. On top of that, to settle my debt, it’s a mere 18% mark off and would be just $580 off the total balance which is ridiculous for a settled debt payment. It’s usually 50-80% off the total amount owed. I was late and behind. I can take ownership of that. That’s on me. But I called 2 weeks prior to my account being revoked and no one said this to me when I called. That’s what bothers me because I would’ve given something, anything, to keep it afloat until I paid it in full. But they purposely didn’t tell me this so my card would get revoked and I’d still pay in full. Nope. They will not be getting anything from me now.

Worst company ever. I got an offer. Decided, "Ok I’ll check it out." I applied, quick approval, activated my card. Was never informed they would charge $75 dollars off the bat for annual fees then I go to use the card and I’m getting declined. Every time I’ve swiped it I’m in the phone. They said due to suspicious activity. I’m barely using it for first time. I keep having to call cause it won’t work so I told the lady that was on the phone with me. "I would like you to stay on the phone with me while I swiped this card at this restaurant I’m at because it keeps getting declined so you can see and figure it out." Well it continued to be declined so I apologize to the drive-through and told them that I had to deal with this card so the lady on the phone told me that it’s unblocked that I should be able to use it.
I should go to a different place to go and use it because it might not be accepted at Arby’s restaurant. I told her "I don’t know why it wouldn’t be accepted because every other credit card and debit card is accepted there and how am I supposed to go to another place and possibly get declined?" I’m not doing that so I had to leave my food because I didn’t have my purse with me. I only had my card and ID and on the phone again and it worked here and there whenever it feels like they decided to let it work because I’ve used it at the same place multiple times and it gets declined one day and then the next day it won’t so it’s the worst card I’ve ever had. This was the absolute worst decision of my life. They attach hidden fees, I had to pay an absurd amount for the annual usage fee. They suspended my account after I paid my statement off. They said they needed proof of the bank statement. I went through all the hoops to provide them with the information they required. I recently had paid for my statement this month (from the same bank account they previously needed proof of payment from) and they had no issue taking it.
I went to check on the status of the issue and they said it could take up to ten days. I couldn’t understand half of the words the customer service agent spoke. They likewise had a hard time understanding me as well. I am American, using an American based bank and yet couldn’t resolve something that honestly shouldn’t have been a problem to begin with. Please heed this warning and the warning of everyone else and do not let this company have access to your money. They don’t appreciate it. I made 4 payments all 15$, after previous month payment had cleared. So minimum payment is $30. For payments of $15 is $60 so I should have been $30 ahead to bring down my balance then the day the payment would normally be due they're demanding another $15 not even $30 which would be the minimum. If not processed through that day. I would be charged with a late fee of what I believe is $35. So you have to pay an additional amount to have it processed through that day. So I called customer service asking them to please look at my payment history which shows that I was should have been covered of my minimum payment and then some the first agent argued with me and then hung up. The second agent of course argued with me. Ask for supervisor. Get the supervisor who doesn't even try to listen to what I'm explaining to how I feel. Go to the next department he says there's nothing that they can do, that I have to make the $15 payment when I've already made $60 worth which is more than the minimum.
So instead of trying to pay your credit card down throughout the month just make one payment or you'll be penalized. They don't care. They have no customer service. I do not recommend this credit card company that's supposed to help you rebuild your credit and if you do go with them and you don't do as they say they will make your credit score go down so be wary of them and don't pay your bill early for any reason. I do not recommend this credit card to company. If you can avoid it go with someone else. K. **

We went to make our last month payment on April 15, and should not have had issue going through as the bank account had more than enough money. I was surprised to get a call from them saying my payment was late, so I went in my bank account to see that they never pulled the money and gave me an nsf fee. There was more than enough money in the account the entire time.
After discovering this, I was mad and decided enough was enough since this was about the 10th time this had happened. I called to cancel my accounts and pay the balance off to just be done with them. They brought the supervisor in to try to talk me out of it, but I insisted, so they closed the account. Guess what they didn't do? Accept the payment. You took the payment I owed plus another 299.00 out of my account so went back and forth with them and they returned my 299 dollars that did not belong to them.. So now my card is paid down to 0 and today they send a email to me telling me my account is closed due to fraud. That's right. Fraud. They have a bunch of FAQ's, and from other reviews that I'm reading, I'm not the only one that has this issue. What isn't explained to you upfront is, when you pay your bill, it takes 7 days to reflect in your available credit unless you pay an extra $4.95 "express" fee. No thanks!
Had I known this upfront, I would have gone with another card, even a secured card. When I pay my bill, I want to see that my available credit reflects that immediately - and it feels like a little bit of extortion that they'll just sit on that payment (that comes out immediately, by the way) for 7 days; and then it will show up on your available credit. The rate is what I expected for someone who is rebuilding their credit. The annual fee is what I expected; but to anyone who is smart, they won't just go out and open another credit card and close the other one because of the obvious credit ramifications. Not crazy about Credit One at all. Hopefully this helps others who are considering opening a line of credit with them.

What if they collected 100 people for $39 and close the account before one or 2 months?...I called customer service and just say, they could not refund it.

I accepted an offer for a $500 credit line through Credit Karma. I received the card and upon registration of my account on the Credit One app, I was able to see that I owed a $39 annual fee. Cool, I read about that. I paid it off immediately. A couple of days later I used the card to pay $25 for a Netflix account. No problem. I waited until the statement date and then immediately paid off my whole balance. The next day, I go to buy snacks after work, and my card is declined. I call customer service and they tell me they locked my account due to "security reasons". Wouldn't tell me anything specific. They ask me again for 2 forms of ID uploaded to their website.
I uploaded the ID while I'm was the phone, but they told me I have to wait 7-10 business days for a resolution. I have since called in 4 more times over the past month, and each time, I am being asked for different forms of ID. Utility bills now. I am a sublet so I don't have the utilities in my name. I explained this to several representatives, supervisors and management reps. After supposedly speaking to the top level account manager, he told me that my picture ID was approved, but the address isn't current. So he told me I could send my phone bill which has my current address as the other form of ID (I had previously sent my passport, picture ID and Social security card).
I tried to upload several times to the website while on the phone with the manager and there was a technical error. Finally, the manager told me to just email my phone bill and gave me the email. He also said he would see to it that my case was expedited since I had already been waiting close to 3 weeks at this point with no response. According to him, this meant that instead of waiting 7-10 more business days, from the date of my last document upload, it would only be 3-5 business days. On the 5th business day I called and was given the run around again as if it was my first time calling, so I kept requesting management on the phone. Finally, I got another senior account manager.
I told them I just want to close my account because I don't want to deal with this anymore. He apologized and told me he would see to it that my issue is resolved in the next 24 hours. I said if it's not, I want to cancel my account and a refund of my annual fee since I haven't even used the card for more than 2 days. At this point they owe me $39 in my eyes. But I'm waiting another day as of today to see what their "resolution" will be. If it is not lifting my restriction, I will close the account regardless of if I get my $39 back. Wayyy too much headache and feels like a scam.
I've never had a problem like this with any credit card I've ever had, and I've had a few, with much larger credit lines. I'm trying to rebuild my credit now after bankruptcy, and the Credit One bank experience has me ready to attempt to start a class action lawsuit. Not even worried about money at this point, it's all about the bad business and I feel like this company needs to be held accountable one way or another. I should have looked at these reviews before accepting their credit offer. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone, ever.

So, it seems like ConsumerAffairs are more about making things more peaceful when writing a negative review on a scam artist creditor, even though I see OTHER reviews that are a lot harsher than mine being okay to publish on the experience section. I WILL be continuing to write negative reviews until one gets approved, because I don't like when an negative experience being ignored, while protecting a fraudulent company to benefit in the long run, so I highly recommend you accept this one ConsumerAffairs.
Anyways, do not apply for Credit Card Bank credit when you get pre-approved. They 100% added a FRAUD bank account information onto my credit card, WITHOUT notifying me, to make it look like I am making a FRAUD payment to the credit card and then decided to close my account because of suspicious activity, even though I put my OWN correct bank account information to pay my credit card bill. I don't know if it is some kind of AI glitch or what is going on, but to have a credit card company do shady things like that and then ConsumerAffairs not approving my previous complaint on here, well then you can easily tell how things are when it comes to frauds in the industry. It's not rocket science. I'm not blaming Consumer Affairs for this fraud activity from Credit One Bank, but to not agreeing to post important and fraud activity from a credit card company that is not even related to Consumer Affairs, that just makes the trust factor of what is happening go down.
I will be remaking my claim on here every single time if it is not approved. ConsumerAffairs, a word of advise, do not protect the fraudsters. Credit One Bank, do not make yourselves go into a heap of trouble for your fraud actions. You KNOW what you did, either a worker in your company is doing this to credit card clients and/or you have a very shady AI setup. People CANNOT input a bank account for payments, if they are not a member of that specific bank, and when a member calls to see how that bank account got into the system in the first place, and then your customer service puts BLAME on the customer that doesn't have a bank account with that specific bank, that is FRAUD activity on YOUR part Credit One. Get the point now ConsumerAffairs? PLEASE do not disapprove this and PLEASE post this immediately, so other customers will NOT get into a mess that Credit One Bank does on purpose to the customers. Then to top it off, I make my payment on time mind you on the day that it's due but because it wasn't made 2 hours prior it didn't post to the next day and then they gave me a late fee. I called them to request they remove the late fee and they told me they could not do that. Utterly ridiculous considering the fact that I don't ever call them to ask them to pay late fees because I'm always on time and have never been late. Not to mention somehow I'm subscribed to their stupid credit protection plan which I know damn well I never subscribe to. They had a pop-up come to find out where the subscribe button is in the area where you would usually find a no button. So basically they trick people into subscribing to their BS credit protection plan.
They also would not refund me for being charged for that that I did not even subscribe to. It's trickery at its finest and stay the ** away from these thieves. Worst credit card company ever. There's a reason why they have such low stars. They don't give two ** about their consumers. All they care about is the money they can take from you. So rather than just wave the late fee, they missed out on me as a customer making more money off of me because I just closed both my accounts.

I was recently unemployed and call Credit One and they offer me credit protection program as cutting corners to pay the minimum pay on the card credit the company adding on extra interest fee to the account making it more than what I borrowed, that’s is wrong. I have try numerous times to be in the program credit protection that’s allowed me to manage to pay down every 100 dollars for 1 for eg if I own 400.00 I will pay 4.00 until I get back on feet, this some thing Credit One bank advertises. I send my paperwork, they receive it and denied me twice without my knowledge. The reason was I wasn’t up date on my payment. I am unemployed. How is that possible? They are liars and rip off. Credit One Bank's refusal to grant a $400 credit limit increase to a customer with a stellar payment history and a credit score over 750 is not just disappointing but outright baffling. Instead of rewarding loyalty, the bank suggests opening a new account with a $1500 limit, conveniently forgetting to mention the accompanying maintenance fees. It seems Credit One is more interested in profiting from unsuspecting customers than valuing their financial responsibility. Stay away from this bank if you value transparency and fair treatment. I went in to pay my bill with Credit One. As I logged on showed my account need to be reinstated. It was a shock since I used my card in October and November 2023. I spoke with the first representative who informed me that my account was closed due to the wrong mailing and email address. I informed her that their system showed the items were updated in August and September then she went on to inform me that the system blocked my update. I requested things be reversed, an email sent to me of the information we discussed, and an update to the credit bureau since this was on them. I was told that couldn't happen. Then I informed her that I would record the conversation and she jumped to the defense that wasn't authorized.
They can tell the consumers anything about our accounts and we are supposed to accept it. I asked for a higher manager which tells me my account was closed for inactivity but I used it in Oct and Nov. As you can see neither manager spoke the same language about my account. He did ask if I wanted my account reinstated but my credit would be pulled. I just told him to leave it closed. I am disappointed that I have to suffer if my credit score is affected by the company errors. This company is 100% about the company, not the consumers. By the end of the month that extra money disappeared and all those bills I had to come off the Credit One card were not honored. I couldn't understand what happened to the extra money that was supposed to be used for my personal use and ended up being absorbed into thin air. I owed no late fees, my bill for that month was paid and I paid more than expected. The next month I was back to square one. The more money I paid on the account the more they took for themselves. When I notified Credit One of this issue, they sent my card the very next day first class mail. The other card came later and I just cut it up. Fast forward to Dec 2023. I was offered a credit increase. I accepted it only to be charged $14.95 for a credit increase. Then I opened a new card with them and unbeknown to me that I would be hit for an annual fee of $95.00!! I called them immediately and informed them that I wanted to reject the offer per the pricing summary and do not want to be charged any additional fees.
The representative did what she could to assist and offered to give me another credit increase with a waived fee and to credit my other account for the $14.95 than to lose a customer. She even lowered my APR for 6 months and I was told to call back in after 6 months for more offers. Although, I was unsuccessful having the annual fee removed, I can honestly say that this card has helped my credit significantly and because of my great standing with this company, I was able to obtain other credit to help repair my score after a bad year. This credit card company is the most absolute terrible company. They are scammers, that make fraudulent charges/fees at their discretion. They would send me a statement and text reminder one month for payment, then fail to send another statement or reminder for months which then causes late fees and charges that raises the balance due on your account over the credit limit. They then harass their customers by calling 100 times a day trying to collect even after their customer has told them to Cease and desist all calls to this number. I work in billing and collections and this is illegal! They must send a statement or payment reminder every month, not every 3-4 months after they have charged you with every late fee or other fee they can find in the book to make you owe them more than you do. I refuse to make any other payment on this account until they have fixed their mistake/scam.
A credit card company that can knowingly do this to their customers need to be sued and shut down. If anyone would like to start a class action lawsuit against them, reach out to me please because this is not right at all! They need to remove all the unnecessary and fraudulent charges on my account or they will be reported to the BBB, I will continue to write reviews to inform the public and if I get another call from them trying to collect these fraudulent charges I will not hesitate to make it my job to inform the entire public of this and I will get a team of lawyers for suit to be filed. This company is disgusting! When a customer tells you not to call this number again and says it the legal way, they must cease and desist calling that customer, send them to collections or write off the entire balance their insurance pays for at the end of the year.
Sickening, you need to run your company and customer service better because you're doing it wrong! I have not found one good review of this company online. Very unpleasant emails, no assistance whatsoever, and when I pay diligently, and even extra, they drag their feet on withdrawing the money. You would figure a company so bent on obtaining their bottom dollar would want their money faster, but they do it in an attempt to rack up more fees due to 'your' negligence. You can pay $5 for them to accept your payment same-day, or chance your money being withdrawn for payment within 5-10 business days. Most consumers are unaware that credit card companies offer Purchase Protection. It protects the customer from theft, fraud, damage, and loss of a purchase for up to 90 days after a purchase with a credit card. Since I worked for a major credit card company (a long time ago), I had some knowledge of it. However, each credit card company has their own policies as to how they handle purchase protection.
I had purchased an almost $190 order from **. My merchandise never arrived. In my discovery process, through **, I had found that my address on the package was either sent illegible or had been damaged in the delivery process. FedEx replaced the address once the package got state-side. When they did this, my merchandise was sent to the wrong address. This was verified by the picture that the FedEx delivery person took upon delivery to someone else's front door; and, by calling FedEx's 800 phone number--in which, their phone system did not recognize the numbers to my address.
When I called Credit One Bank to explain my situation and request a dispute for loss of merchandise, they never once informed me that my issue did not qualify for Purchase Protection. So, I sent them a 10-page document, on legal paper, that was full of pictures (Evidence) and explained my discovery process, summary, and request for relief. Also, the document was sent with a return receipt. After they received the documentation, the security credited the merchandise amount. Within about 30 days, I received an email. The only response I got was, "You authorized this purchase" (!!!) and they debited back the security credit. Well, with the response that I got, I knew that they had processed my document as a Fraud Dispute (!!!) and not a Purchase Protection Dispute.
Before calling Credit One Bank, I went to their website to make sure that they offered Purchase Protection. Sure enough, they do offer it. However, when I got to speak with a Credit One Bank representative, I found out that she had no knowledge of what Purchase Protection was (!!!). Then, she transferred my call to an "Account Manager" -- which, in reality, is the Fraud Department. Oh, my goodness, it was to my misfortune that I was transferred to the most highly accented, barely speaking English individual ever! It took a lot of effort on my behalf to have to really listen to what this individual was saying [Why do they put a barely speaking English individual in such an important (Dispute Resolutions) position!?? They have to repeat themselves over and over again just so that they can be understood!!]! The only thing that I really understood from this individual was that my dispute would be resubmitted for review and my account debited again.
With the knowledge that my Purchase Protection Dispute was being resubmitted for review, I knew that I'd have to resubmit more documentation. Rather than to have to do that all again, I decided that I would give Credit One Bank another call. I wanted to find out what their policy was on Purchase Protection. I figured that maybe, just maybe, I could get ahold of a representative that was knowledgeable. What I got was an individual that almost transferred me to the Fraud Department but decided not to. She informed me that Credit One Bank only offered Zero Liability -- which is, basically, Fraud Protection. I was looking right at Credit One Bank's website on Purchase Protection when she said it (!!!). Also, she informed me that my annual fee, which I don't have, paid for it (!!!). It's unfortunate that this call turned out to be such a colossal waste of my time and very unproductive.
My card with Credit One Bank has an American Express logo on it. From what I've read, American Express teamed up with Credit One Bank to conduct business. This gave me an idea. Why don't I call American Express and ask the questions that I need answering about Purchase Protection? So, I did. Within one minute of speaking with a very understandable English speaking American Express representative, I had my answer (Thank you, AMEX!!!). One would think that if Credit One Bank partnered with American Express, that Credit One Bank would be just as knowledgeable as American Express. Sadly, this is not the case.
