I do not know how this place is legally in business in the United States. They overcharge & make fraudulent changes to your account. They charge monthly maintenance fees for no reason. You can't ever talk to anyone unless you say your cards been lost or stolen. You get absolutely nowhere with them. I had to just pay the balance they said I owed so I could close the account. Spent hours upon hours on the phone going over the same thing. No one's first language is english. They're also rude as heck. I paid them over $300 that I didn't spend. This whole place is a complete racquet. I would suggest staying far away from them. They should be shut down for shady business practice. Im out $300 just to close my acct# so my credit wouldn't get pinged. They're terrible and hopefully karma finds everyone of their non English speaking reps. KARMA may find this company. If ever there's a class action lawsuit hmu for real.

Beware of this company being affiliated with ** call centers who are also ** “scam” call centers. If you are a customer, get rid of them especially when they refuse to let you pay unless you give them your bank account number, and or your Social Security number. Every month, I had to make a payment it would take me no less than an hour and a half to process a payment with this company because they would outright refuse to accept my money unless I gave them my bank account number or my Social Security number. Below, all those numbers listed for all seven days of the week are from this Credit One scam call center. I haven’t had an account with them in almost three years. When I left I paid them in full. I even called them this last time of a more recent year ago to ensure that nobody had access my account. These scam affiliated companies have infiltrated our banks and our credit cards with no oversight from Congress. Beware of them!

They sold account to predatory service who is now suing me for double what they claimed I owe instead of the arbitration... on something I never received. Avoid this "bank".

I know better and did not give them any information, but these scammers are using the Credit One Bank name to confuse people into you giving them your information. These people asked me for my social security number to identify myself with. Please will someone from Credit One Bank fraud department take care of these people. The "Express Payment" on the app never works with me and I don't know why, you even need to pay a little fee for that too. This company has cost me so much in money, even when I dramatically reduced my monthly income since I lost my job they highered my credit card spending. Seems reasonable until I was told I need to PRINT and MAIL copies of my social security card, driver's license, and a utility bill. My time is worth more than that. I won't even waste an envelope. I just canceled the card instead. Other issuers have given me no such hassles.

After becoming ill and losing my job, I had a tough time with my bills in debt. I contacted Credit One only to find out that they said I was way past due. I said why wasn’t I sent anything in the mail? They said, "Because we don’t do that. It’s an online account." I said, "I contacted you to tell you that I was hacked." I could not receive messages on my online account so they put me on hold.
They put me on the phone with someone else. I explained it to them. They said they need to verify me. I gave them my updated email. They said, "OK fine. Now we need to send you a text code to the number registered." I said I don’t have that number anymore. It was hacked. They said they can’t verify me so I owe them the money. They would not let me know what the charges were. I think they’re a low budget hacker company that takes advantage of customers. My credit rating was great two years ago until I was hacked and lost access to a lot of accounts. They keep sending notifications to the credit bureaus which is killing my credit rating three years ago. I had a pretty good credit score. Since then it dropped over 350 points.

I recorded the full conversation between Credit One Bank and myself as proof, and took a screenshot of them stating it would only be a soft pull if they did pull credit. However, I found out on October 14, 2025 that Credit One Bank did in fact pull my credit, did a hard pull from all three major credit agencies, and lied about it.
Credit One Bank is a scammer who fraudulent false advertises, pulls people's credit reports when they say that they will not, and deceives people by claiming that they do not know how to pull credit reports. They're very misleading people who should not be over people's personal information. They need to be investigated for fraud.

I called about a late fee recently, I paid before the due date the entire statement balance. She transferred me to the account advisor. He was clearly aggravated. He said because I was a good cardholder for so long he would adjust the fee. The next day I received an email that my account was closed and being report consumer reporting agencies. I have had 3 Credit One cards for 5 or 6 years. I was never really upset with them until recently. I can't setup my account anymore to take out monthly automatic payments. My bank completely screwed me up but there should be some kind of reset when freezes happen but the account is active. I am so used to doing this that I forget this one card company won't let me do automatic payments on the card. I keep being late cause I forget it's no longer automatic. The biggest issue is they lie about anything and everything. They'll tell you you're always late when that's not true (was only late because my bank froze my account to verify a large deposit) when you tell them to waive your late fee (your one a year).
I'm now late because their system has been down and they want me to wait until 5am the day after the due date. So late fee added and they keep giving excuses about why I had to give way more information than I normally do. Why does one department have complete access into your account but not the escalation department? You still have to verify your info through automation and then why would I be sent to escalation when I'm just making a payment? Don't get cards from this company. If it helps, I pay my cards completely off or almost completely off so they love offering increases with a $19.95 fee. As long as life doesn't screw you over once and create a cluster issue, this might work but if you're not used to having to set alarms to remind you to pay a bill you used to have automatically setup, just get another card with less headaches

I contacted them about a fraudulent charge on my account. It was hard to get ahold of someone, but once I did they cancelled my card quickly and issued another one. HOWEVER, they also transferred the fraudulent charge to my new account. When I contacted them about it they said I needed to send in proof. I did and after a couple weeks of nothing happening I contacted them again to see what was taking so long and why this charge is still on my account, They said it takes months to review and remove it. So I can either pay for a charge that is not mine or refuse to pay and let it sit there and then late payment goes on my credit report. This is not ok. Closing account immediately.

Credit One Bank just lost a massive class action lawsuit for their shady practices and they haven't changed a thing. I've been working on rebuilding my credit since co-vid and as my score increased, so did the frequency of offers Credit One sent to me through the mail. Finally at the beginning of May, I was curious as to how much credit they were offering and scanned the QR code in the latest mailer. After verifying my identity, I saw the they were offering a $400 line of credit. I thought it was funny and exited out of their website and forgot about it. About a week later, I was shocked to see that they mailed me a card! On the card was a sticker with another QR code to scan to activate the card. I did not activate the card. Another week goes by and I received a bill from Credit One for a $95 annual fee.
I was pretty annoyed with their aggressive tactics and felt like they had forced me into this line of credit but I figured it would help increase my credit score so I decided to keep it. I went to the website and downloaded the app and tried to pay the annual fee using direct debit from my PayPal account. Credit One said that they needed to verify the account first, which they did successfully 2 days later, and then I made the payment. One week later, I decided to use this account to pay a hold deposit of $200. This transaction was declined. Over and over again. I pulled up the app and saw the $95 payment had been declined. I was confused about that but nevertheless went ahead and paid it again since it was still before the due date. I made sure it went through this time.
Tried to use the card again for the hold, still declined. I called customer service and was told my account was closed it their request. I protested stating that I had paid the annual fee before it was even due and asked her to reopen my account. She said she could not reopen it but I was welcome to apply again. I tried to ask for a refund and she could not understand me, perhaps because English was not her first language and maybe not even her second. After the phone call, I decided my course of action would be in writing and mailed a letter explaining the situation and ask them to either refund my money or reopen my account.
A couple of weeks later I received a short response in the mail. The response made no mention of refunding my money but said in order to reopen the account that I had to supply several verification documents from PayPal. And these weren't just form letters or account statements that I could easily print off and send. The letter was ended with a threat stating if they did not get these documents from me the account would stay closed and they would report "closed d\t issuer's request" to be included on my credit report, which they had already done. I spent a week and spoke with no less than 8 different representatives from PayPal trying to get the documents Credit One wanted and got as close as I could to everything exactly as they'd asked.
Mailed the documents with a note once again requesting they reopen my account OR send me a refund asap. That was a month ago. Still nothing. Credit One is a scam. They basically harassed me into checking them out and then forced me into a line of credit only to collect money for nothing, cancel and LOWER my credit score by 53 points! Not even a minute later, I canceled the payment. I received an email stating Bank One canceled my payment thru their system. I decided I wanted to pay this card using my bank's online payment system so the money can be draft immediately out of my account.
The next day, I see that Bank One did not cancel that payment, so now I have duplicate payments for the same amount. I call to cancel one of the payment. Was told the payment would be canceled and check would be sent to me in 2 or 3 weeks. Wasn't happy about this, but ok. Wake up this morning and looked at my email, and Bank One closed BOTH of my card due to "unauthorized payment activity". What in the world is this!!!!
Since the time I've had these cards I've paid them consistently thru my bank's online bill payment system. So why in the hell would this company close my cards. The payment(s) were authorized. I decided that I wanted to pay my balance off a different way. Now my cards are closed because of this. Terrible service and terrible company. Nobody speaks clear English and not trained very well.

This is the worst card in life. It would state I have available credit for over 300$ then would decline on 20$ purchases or less. I have been told by multiple customer service reps that I need to have a backup card to pay for this because it will keep getting denied due to security protocols, but there is no proper learning in their security profiling. It denies you despite you approving the purchase and stating it is valid. It also sends a text message an hour later to try to validate the purchase, then will deny you again when you try to purchase something. I wasted too many hours of my day calling their horrible service center. Don't wast your money, credit, or time.

Was told I had to pay for it even though I said it was fraud. I asked them for the merchant’s phone number. They gave me a number that was not in service. I called back again and was given the runaround again and was still told I have to pay for that charge. The credit card company does not back their card holders. They back the merchants. Even the ones they can’t give you merchant information on. How is that even legal not be able to provide accurate merchant information. The one customer service rep told me to Google it. Beware.

I’m warning others about my terrible experience with Credit One Bank. An account was opened in my husband’s name without his authorization—he never applied for or received the card. Despite paying a $35 annual fee in error and calling three times to dispute it, the company closed the account but continues to charge fees and interest. They’ve refused to remove these charges and are reporting them to credit bureaus, damaging his credit score unfairly.
I’ve requested proof of the application, which they haven’t provided, suggesting possible fraud or error on their part. Their customer service has been unhelpful, ignoring my disputes and legal rights under the Fair Credit Billing Act. I’m now escalating to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Avoid this company—they engage in predatory practices and fail to resolve serious issues. Save yourself the headache and choose a reputable issuer. Rating: 1/5 stars.

I got this card to put a $15 subscription on and pay off each month to help my credit usage rating as I rebuild. Over 3 weeks went by since I was approved and 5 days passed since the estimated arrival date according to the shipping email and app. So I called and asked them to cancel it out of concern it was stolen or lost in the mail. They told me it would be another 5-10 business days. The first issued card shows up 3 days after we closed it.
Around 13 business days passed and my second card still hasn’t arrived. I called again asking if there was any update or way to access this account so it didn’t go dormant and close automatically. He expedited a 3rd card and said it would be 3-5 business days and he’d do me a favor by waiving the shipping fee. It has been 7 business days and neither the 2nd or 3rd card have showed up. We confirmed my address each time and the first set arrived nearly 30 days late. So we know that isn’t the issue. After reading these reviews, I’m planning to cancel the account which will negatively impact my credit.

I've requested documentation in writing over 30 days ago from Credit One Bank and have yet to be received. I contacted the bank the same week I activated my card due a restriction being placed on my account within 24 hours of activation. I contacted the Bank May 31st advising of such issues and was advised by an account representative the bank required to verify my identity, banking information, lease agreement, utility bill, drivers license and employment salary. Now, the option for communication (due to theft of our postal service mail) I chose all communication be uploaded to my "documents/statement" section within my portal. The only document I've received from Credit via portal is the latest statement. I also paid by bill within 2 weeks of activating the card, prior to the due date and prior to Credit One uploaded the new statement.
I've contacted Credit One Bank on - Monday, July 28, 2025 requesting an explanation for Credit One's lack of due diligence. One, an explanation in writing for the purpose for stonewalling the account after 24 hours of activation - since the identity verification was completed during the initial approval process. Secondly, the disregard and nature of requesting such documentation, purpose of asking for information as this appears to be fraud per a consumer's ideology.
Last, Credit One's failure to send documentation in writing and advising the consumer that a letter was issued on June 27th without advising if the letter was uploaded to the portal or sent to my mailing address. After all, my "communication request" from Credit One's bank is that all correspondence be issued via account portal for faster servicing and processing, nothing should be issued to be in writing by mail. Should credit one require "per legal terms" all identification documents be issued through physical mail, not uploaded to consumer's portal, they should always proceed by ensuring their covering all bases - as the consumer has advised their preference of communication.
Also, when calling I noticed India accents or someone overseas pretending as if their American by using false names and "maybe" false titles to address each call. I asked where they outsourced and was given two statements until I asked again and then Account Manager named "John" stated yes, the company's customer service dept was outsourced. Had I known this, I would've never requested a line of credit with them - as they've advised me of Amex benefits associated with my Credit One Card. So, it's Amex logo at the bottom right corner, but Credit One's name top left corner. This is sad!

IF I COULD GIVE 10 ZERO STARTS I WOULD!!!! They closed my account because they said I missed a payment that I never missed. I had an acct with them a few years ago, closed it and the checking account that I was using. I opened a new account w them and started paying out of a different account. Payments were never missed and on time. They closed my account because they said when I opened the new account, they transferred all the information from the old account, including the closed checking acct #.
When I made payments from my new acct, they were trying to get money from both accts. When the payment from the closed acct was rejected, they counted that as a returned payment BUT the payment was going through on my OPEN acct. When asked why and how would this be possible? They said it's the system and they have to go by what the system says. So they were trying to get payments from me out of two different accounts at the same time. They did not send me any notices or emails, had they done so, I could have let them know that the other account had been closed years ago. DO NOT DEAL W THESE PEOPLE, THEY ARE VERY, VERY SHADY! I called their customer service and they said that I needed to verify myself for security by sending them a copy of my driver's license, check stubs, and a bill with our address on it. I was so mad! I now was late paying my large expense! I sent in the information via the website and called them to have them activate my account. When I called they said that my drivers license address didn't match the one listed. They had me go get another license with the correct address.
I sat at the dol after work, got my license, sent it in, and now they want the real license, not the copy of mine until I get it in the mail. I was upset and the customer service said that all I would need to do is send in a copy of my old license stamped. I did all of this, and called back again. CreditOne Bank is a very desperate BATE and SCAM you company. I had a $1,800+ balance on a Visa and about $700+ on the MC with them a few years back. At first, they seem legit (Bate you in) company, then after you get a high balance, they start to scam you. While the Visa payment was always about a week ahead of the MC, I would pay both at the same time about two weeks ahead of the Visa's due date in separate envelopes. Since the Visa had a larger balance, every month they would claim that the Visa payment was late and would charge me a late fee. But the MC was always on time.
The Visa's balance kept getting higher each month even though I paid way more than the minimum. I then sent the Visa payment by certified mail two weeks before the due date, but the mail deliver failed to do their job and have the receiver signed the letter with the payment inside. So CreditOne claimed that the payment was late again, and my balance went up again. This time I mailed both payments in the same envelope two weeks ahead of the Visa's due date. CreditOne claimed that they received only the MC payment but not the Visa payment even though they were both in the same envelope. My Visa card climbed higher again due to the late fee being added again.
Final straw, I called one of their representatives and paid the full $1,800+ for the Visa and $700+ for the MC with my sister's card and cancelled both of their cards. While paying my sister back in cash the CreditOne rep had the nerve to ask me if he could make me a deal on a new card...I almost cursed him out, but instead I just hung up the phone on him. They are still sending me offers through the mail even though I have called them and said that I just throw away their letters because it is junk mail.

When you talk to a so-called customer service person (or the so-called manager) and ask to speak to a supervisor, well, you're probably not because it is the same issue about the birthdate and they are 'NOT WILLING' to help. So, do not get this card and if you do (you're an idiot like me) pay it off as quickly as possible! I am credit-worthy and do pay my bills, to those who assume that people who complain do not. They sent me a bill for the $39 annual fee and the first transaction I attempted was declined. I called customer service and was told a lock had been put on my account until I provided "proof" of identity through a driver's license, proof of address - such as a utility bill and my...wait for it...W2. You knew where to mail my bill, though didn't you? I told them to close the account and I am refusing any requests for payment for a card that was issued with the sole purpose of stealing an annual fee and giving no credit in return. They are complete frauds and liars. Good riddance.

So, with all this being said and me attempting to let Credit One Bank assist me in rebuilding my credit by keeping their card in my wallet, it surely has not. By accepting this card, paying for services I did not receive, then holding onto it I found that they did help with my credit but, this wasn’t for a better score. The card was cancelled and this, in fact, did impact my score negatively. Thank you Credit One for being so great at your job. Next time you want to send a “you’re reapproved” kindly reconsider. I hope this lengthy review reaches all of your potential clients and they choose wisely with a different card. You can pay your credit card off monthly and it still will not change your credit score, if you’re aware of how this impacts your life with improving your credit score and getting above again. This company and credit they give out, will only ruin you once again. I had fraud on my Wells account and since my payment method changed they canceled me. Keep in mind even using a new Wells account they did accept my payment then canceled me. At this point I'm going to fight them to need. I verified from my bank statements and from my bank that the payments were effectively taken out of the accounts via their express payments tab in their portal. This card is a joke. If you are already struggling and need to build credit, this is not the way to do it. First there is a $95 charge to have the card. So a $500 limit is now a $405 limit. But if you try to use it, it will not let you. I tried to use it to pay for my tires and was only able to use $325 due to the limit restriction and charges. So now I owe over $500 and only used $325! Also, THERE IS NO GRACE PERIOD AT ALL. I tried to set up auto pay and it charges you over $7 to use the auto pay. So I set my alarm to pay it direct. When I went to log it, my account sign in was wrong and it locked me out. So I paid it the next morning from my work computer. They charges me a $29 late fee. Yes, they do have an annual fee; that is understood. Since I have had the card, I have used it sparingly and NEVER carry a balance. I pay it in full every month. As a result, I have had no problems with it. The online portal is easy to use, as is the app. I believe the people who are writing poor reviews either didn't read the fine print when they applied, or carry high balances. It was a good card to get me back on track. I now have an "excellent" credit rating and a bank credit card with a high credit limit. However, I keep the Credit One card, just as a backup. I called them and they said I had already made a payment this month, even though it wasn't the full amount that was due.
I explained my situation and that I have been trying to pay my credit card off so I can eliminate that payment and I'm trying to make extra payments so the interest goes down and I do not get charged a huge interest each month. They stated that's their policy, and there's nothing they can do for me, that I have to wait to make another payment, meanwhile they are allowed to charge interest and prevent me from making payments to my credit card. It came with a $300 credit line, however 75 had been deducted for the first years annual fee, which they considered as a purchase amount to be paid back with a average daily interest rate of 28%. Had I canceled the card after activating it, and even without using it, there would have been a $30 fee. The agent told me the second year and on annual fee would be $99. Doing the math, I figure I could easily incur $300 fees and interest in 3-4 months for a credit line of $225.
