Credit One Bank is one of the worst credit card companies I've ever dealt with. They take advantage of people who are trying to rebuild their credit with outrageous fees, high-interest rate and $75 annual fee!!! I mistakenly applied for this card thinking it would be a good way to rebuild my credit. Damn was I wrong! You have to pay at least half of the annual fee when you sign up and they charge you a "processing fee" when you try to make your payment, and when you call their customer support they speak with a very heavy accent that's hard to understand. It's ridiculous! I closed my account with them after a few months and got a way better credit card from "Capital One". Don't fall for this "Credit One Bank", sign up with "Capital One" instead.

I applied to this company right before my family and I went to MO to see our son graduate boot camp for the Army that was in May, didn't get the card till after we came back. So we used the card for groceries and such. Well the first payment was right after we got home and it was $25 and I miscalculated the date and it the bank before the due date and was sent back as NSF. Well the following day I made the payment with an extra $$ to cover the fee.... Well after that we decided to put the card away. After that they decided to automatically take out the payments before the due date and each time (2 more) was NSF in the bank so when I found out I automatically made the payment and extra to cover for 2 months this happened. Then I went to see the balance online, I couldn't go back in so I called and they told me that the acct is closed and needed to pay the full amount because of lack of payment... **!!!

Now the acct is closed and a negative mark on my credit report after years of getting it back to where we needed to buy a house but now forget it... The company SUCKS!!! This is the same company that my mother had 9 years ago that didn't want to be in the credit repair program that she was in, all the other credit card companies were accepting the contract but not them. Till this day they are threatening a 76 y/o retired woman with jail time if she doesn't pay.... How rude and what idiots. I truly regret applying to them! They called today 9/1/15 to make arrangement and told them that I couldn't until I get paid next week and she tried every way possible to get the full amt of the bill, I don't think so. I told her that I will pay the amount due before the due date and she wanted a letter of my bank stating that it's active.... I don't think so.

I paid my balance in full, only to find that I always have a balance because Bank One charges their annual fee broken in monthly payments. They will not allow a 1 time payment of the annual. Then they assess interest over the monthly payment of the annual fee. I spoke with the supervisor and requested the date to pay the fee, so it will not collect interest. I was told that there is no way to avoid paying the interest on the monthly charge for the annual fee. I was also told that these are the terms and it is take it or leave it. However, if I close the credit card account, my score will decrease. So it is an institutional-legal robbery? What can I do to stop this? Is there a class action suit I can join? There are millions of dollars being charged monthly by these company on interest over a monthly payment of an annual fee because Bank One found the loop to force people into paying this.

I have had my Credit One card now for exactly one year. They only gave me a $500 line of credit and I have never missed a payment. I called a month ago to ask for a credit line increase as I knew I had a big car repair coming. The foreigner on the phone from some third-world country said I was denied and I would get a letter in the mail to tell me why. The letter came and indicated the only reason I DID not get the increase was because my account on this card was not yet one year old.

I called them and asked for a manager and I was told, "yes, you must wait until the 28th of the next month" and then I could get the increase. I waited and made the call but I made a mistake and called one day early. I was told, "it's ok, just call back tomorrow for your increase." I had at this point run the car bill up and promised to pay them at the end of this month when I got my increase. I had not run up any other bills and in fact my credit score had gone up. So I called back on the correct day and... was denied!!!

I asked again to speak to a manager and was told, "well uhhh we have no idea why you were denied. This is all done by a machine." I said, "who is in charge of that?" "We don't know," he said. I asked him if it was the Wizard of Oz!!! Why DID you guys lie to me last month with a letter and two times over the phone? "Uhhh I can't say," he said. Horrible, horrible company who will tell you whatever you want to hear until they have to live up to the lies and then they play dumb. Stay far, far away.

Honestly, this card was terrible. It just didn't work (despite having an available balance) in numerous places. When I opened the account, the card took over a month to arrive. The service sucks, but their customer service is a nightmare! I called to cancel my card within my one year grace period (after the year, you get an account fee of $99), and the account services representative was practically bribing me to stay with the company. She offered me $25 off my annual membership fee of $99, she offered me a lower APR, she even went as far as to tell me the cancellation would ruin any future job prospects.

After I passed on all the offers, her attitude took a complete 180. She was rude, snapping at me ("Well, if that's what you think is the smartest decision, then we're done with you."), and actually hung up on me after I turned down all her offers and requested a letter confirming the closure. I called them two days later (the day my membership was done for the year), and it was the same attitude. Credit One Bank representatives behave as if their lives are threatened if accounts are cancelled by consumers.

I wanted to verify that my balance was $0, and he confirmed TWICE that no new charges will be placed on the account. I said I used the card once in the month, so I might have interest charges in my account, and he, again, confirmed TWICE that no interest charges would be placed on my account in the near future. He confirmed that the account was closed, and that I would no longer have access to the Credit One Bank website within the next 24 hours. I, again, requested a letter from them.

Today, three days after my last conversation with the bank, I am STILL able to access my account online, and my account magically has a balance of $5.88. I called them to dispute this, and the account representative said this was placed on the account three days ago as an interest charge for the month. I reminded her that I spoke to another rep about possible interest charges the same exact day the supposed interest charges were added to my account, and he confirmed that no charges will be placed on my account. She, clearly stumped because I caught her in her BS, said "Well, this charge was placed on MIDNIGHT of that day, so he wouldn't have known about the charge unless you called us the next day." Side note: This is all happening almost a week after my monthly statement was received on my end. Any interest or usage charges would have already been apply to the account.

They eventually agreed to take the charge off my account, and that if I check online (on the website I wasn't even supposed to have access to anymore!), they'll see the amount waived by the bank. I asked, "Well, if I hadn't checked my account today, five days after I canceled it, and more than a week after all interest and usage charges should have been applied, my account would have held a balance and ultimately, gone to collections because I wouldn't have known about the balance?" She said "As I explained, the amount has been waived."

I told her that's not what I'm asking, I asked why I had absolutely no knowledge of the new account fees on my account, and what would have happened if I hadn't caught this on their website. Again, she said "As I explained, the amount has been waived by the bank, and should be reflected on your account in the next 24 hours." I asked the same question, and heard the call drop noise on my phone. I called back, and the call was dropped TWICE when I requested an account services representative!

So, to summarize, to cancel my Credit One Bank account, I've been hung up on four times, called three times to cancel, and been charged post-cancellation, even after I got a confirmation that my account wouldn't be charged by the bank. Stay away from this bank! They are trying to fool consumers by copying the Capital One logo. You'll have better luck and service getting the Capital One Platinum Secured card!

DO NOT APPLY FOR A CREDIT ONE CARD!!! I got this card to build my credit rating in order to get a mortgage. There was a yearly fee. I was okay with this. I called to pay my remaining balance and cancel the card after I was able to get approved for a card with no fee. The lady who understood very little English said she did just that. She gave me a confirmation number. Come to find out that confirmation number was just for the payment. Months go by and after speaking to my mortgage rep I find out that my credit score has been dropping because of an outstanding account balance. It gets better. I call to pay my new outstanding balance and cancel again. The lady takes my payment and disconnects me. I call back. After getting transferred 7 times I get disconnected. This happens 6 more times. I ended up having to get an attorney to call WHO ALSO GOT HUNG UP ON! His second attempt was apparently successful. I hope so.

I applied for a credit one bank card to help my credit rating. I signed up for online banking, entered in all of my bank account information and set up a payment a WEEK before my due date. I get 6 calls a day saying that my account is past due, and funds have been returned. When I called the company to make a payment over the phone, they inform me that there is a $9.63 "standard processing fee", but they charge that for express pay. I told them I do not want express pay, just standard, and they told me that I must pay that fee regardless. If I wanted my funds available in 24 hours, I would pay the fee, but I don't, so why must I pay that fee? They constantly bother me about making payments, but when I try to, it's like they tack on all of these fees! Absolutely the WORST company I have ever dealt with! I am considering reporting them for fraud!

Not Credit One Bank. You can barely understand what they are saying. And it's either you pay or your account will be closed and go to collection.

Customer Service is not processing my request to have a fax sent showing I have a zero balance to my mortgage company!!! I have had the worst experience with Credit One Bank. I am currently in the process of purchasing a home. So I paid all my credit cards in full... One of those cards is with Credit One Bank. I have been a wonderful customer to them since I have been with the company. Making on-time payments and asking them for nothing. So when I called in to request a letter be faxed to my mortgage company showing I had zero balance on the account, I didn't think I would run into any issues. But BOY DID I!?! I paid the account in full on Aug 13. I called to request a fax be sent to my mortgage company on Aug 18 at 1:12 pm ES... I spoke with a representative who told me the fax could be sent in 24-48 hours...

I asked to speak with a manager in order to try and get the statement e-mailed to me directly from a manager. He was of no help! He told me it would take 72 hours. I gave both the representative and the manager the fax number for my mortgage company. I thought the request was complete. So after 72 hours went by and still no fax was sent I called back Aug 24 at 1:49 pm EST and was told my request was canceled because I hung up. I disconnected the call after speaking with the representative and the manager giving both the name of the contact at my mortgage company and the fax number! I was beyond shocked finding this out! So I was told by the next rep that she would fax the statement and she advised that it would take another 72 hours!

Now this time while I waited I found a mystery charge for a dollar pop up on my account on Aug 25, 2015. I have not used this card since paying it off. Instead of fighting the charge I just made the $1 payment because I really have had my fill with speaking to the company! So today Aug 28, 2015 when I followed up with the mortgage company to verify that the fax had been sent again I was told no fax had been received! So I called back again today at 5:07pm. The rep then told me the fax wasn't sent because the account was not paid in full. I was beyond upset! My account has been paid in full since Aug 13! Until this mystery charge of $1 popped up on my account. A charge I thought came from the fax request! I haven't touched that card since paying it off. When I asked the representative where the charge came from, she was unable to tell me! She then again agreed to fax over a copy of the statement to my mortgage company!

She advised the fax wasn't sent because my account had a "balance" at the time of the request! Which is not the truth! The $1 was not applied to the account until the 25th! The request was added as of the 24th! She then told me it would take another 24-48 hours! This process has been beyond ridiculous! I have to have that fax before the 31st in order not to lose my home! I can't believe I'm on the verge of losing the funding for my home due to the unsavory business practices of Credit One! I have two credit cards with Capital One, and they were able to send me the same fax I'm requesting in less than two hours! This is the worst company I have ever had to deal with! To make matters that much worse! These acts are really affecting something I've been working towards for the past SEVEN YEARS. And it's hanging in the balance due to such an unprofessional company! This is beyond unbelievable!

I had a Credit One Bank card to repair my credit. I had it for at least 5 years and paid the balance off every month. If I was unable to completely pay off the balance, I at least tripled my payment to help re-build my credit. I was able to do so and opened a Rewards card at my bank with a high limit. I paid off the Credit One Bank card and had a zero balance... or so I thought. They changed my annual fee to be a "monthly fee" instead of an annual fee. Thinking I had a zero balance, I got a call from a representative that stated I had a late fee on my annual fee. They supposedly waived the late fee if I paid the annual fee which I did.

The following month I received another call saying that I had a late fee and that I now had a larger balance. They told me they would take off the late fees but again they charged the annual fee again. So, I asked about it and they said they were charging it monthly. I have never heard of this, but I asked them to close out my account as I had not used that card in months and if they were going to use these types of tactics, I wanted to closes it out to ensure I did not have any more late fees. They then put a late payment on my credit report for $18. I am so upset. When I sent them a dispute letter they rejected my request even though I had not used the card in almost a year. Do I have any recourse, as it has really put a hit on my credit report which I was working so hard to repair.

Everything was fine for me with this card and making my payments monthly and online access, etc., but after paying off my entire balance and wanting to close the account, that was another story. Nowhere on their website is there information regarding closing an account, at least I didn't find any, so you have to call them. They have limited business hours for which you can call and speak to a representative, which I guess shouldn't surprise me, but did.

When I told the "account specialist" I needed to close my account, she tried talking me into a lower interest rate and told me that it would negatively affect my credit score by doing so. I remained firm with her and politely declined, at which point she told me that she "did not respect my decision to do so". Then she gave me the talk again that my credit was going to reflect badly if I closed my account, and again told me that she "really did not respect my decision to do so". Who cares?! I can't believe they are trained to work that line into their script, and as far as I'm concerned that is highly unprofessional.

It took about 3-4 times of me remaining firm and saying that I needed to close the account before she said something to the effect of "Ok, fine. Your account's closed. Bye." Just like that! I had to catch her before she almost hung up to request some kind of confirmation that they would indeed do as I requested. I'm supposed to get a letter in the mail. I checked the account online now a few days later and I still see nothing regarding the account being closed, so it remains to be seen... I feel like they treat you rudely and unprofessionally if you ever try to close your account, so beware!

I attempted to make a payment via my savings account. I, however, placed my customer number at my bank into their system instead of my account number which caused the payment to be returned as a non-valid account. Unfortunately, my bank would not issue a statement on their letterhead to verify that my saving account with them (since 2007), was valid. My account, therefore, was closed by Credit One, not taking into account that particular payment was one of two payments that I made (I made a payment from another account that went through fine). The representative and supervisors have been extremely rude and unwilling to work with me to help with an alternative solutions for this issues. I'm really very disappointment with this, as this credit card was an attempt to re-build my credit.

I have never in all my years of living had to go through the hell that Credit One Bank put me through. I am a man of responsibility, I have a full time job, and I always made my payments. I was late one payment because the due date fell on a non-payment work week. I notified customer service and spoke to a supervisor who waived the fees, and let me know as long as the payment was made before next month I should be fine. A few days later, not even a month before my due date, I got a call from in-house collections harassing me saying I need to make a payment now, refusing to hang up unless I pay.

The call centers are all outsourced in India, so no one can speak clear understandable English. They are rude, and refuse to work with you. At this point I was done, and told them I wanted to close my account. I was transferred about 13 times before I spoke to someone who would close my account. I applied to this card knowing exactly what I was getting into. I read everything on the letter they sent and also went on their website. With that being said, I was aware of the $76 annual fee and also all the other fine print. I am also aware of the payment taking 5 days before reflecting on my account and if I need credit faster there's a $10 fee. Remember that you're signing up for a credit card that is trying to help you out because of your credit score. They're taking a risk with giving you a line of credit so they have to secure some type of money right off the bat. If you don't like it then try applying to AMEX (which, after making my payments in time with this card, I was able to get). I don't this card much. But I still keep it open. This is a good card and I always make my payments on time and I've never EVER had a problem with them. Just remember that there is an annual fee.

I would have given zero stars but it made select one. I have been charged an ANNUAL FEE every month of $8.25. An annual fee is supposed to be a yearly fee not a monthly fee. That is what they are charging me and I'm sure other customers are being charged this fee wrongly. This card hasn't been used and I keep it for emergencies only! I got a statement today that my payment is past due. Impossible I think. I go online to my account and whammo there it is, my annual fee (I mean my monthly fee, of which I had no idea that I was even being charged). Ridiculous.

To top it off, when I made the first phone call, I went through to customer service and I spoke to someone not from this country... if you get my drift. Then in the midst of the call she said I'll be right back... Not! She hung up on me. Guess what, when I tried to call back they said that they couldn't take my call and hung up. Guess what, I tried to call again and again and same response. So being the smart person I am I decided to call from a different phone line. Whammo someone answered. Ha ha proved my intuition and I knew it would work!! But of course when I told them I didn't care what I had to pay to close my account they argued with me to try and remove fees, etc. Not happening.

They also only wanted a debit card number. DON'T GIVE THEM ONE! It’s a scam. Finally of course they took the number from a different card I have. It has a total limit of $450 for issues just like this one. And they won't have my personal banking info. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR DEBIT, BANKING INFORMATION - WHATEVER YOU DO! This has been the single most worst credit card experience I've ever imagined and know that I will be following up with the Better Business Bureau and sending them my own complaint to follow up with this. THIS IS THE SINGLE WORST COMPANY OUT THERE. DO NOT USE THEM.

This never happened as my card is maxed out and I can't use it. They offered to increase my credit limit for a $24.99 fee! This credit card company is horrible and I don't trust them. As I am reading all the negative reviews on Credit One credit card I am a bit taken back. When YOU apply for the card either thru a mail offer you received or online application it VERY clearly states all the fees and interest rates in black and white. I read all kinds of complaints about the $9.95 they charge for express payment, which is also stated in their disclosures. They also state the fee of $6.95 if you want a designer card. Why would anyone wait till the last day or so to pay? This card is for people with bad credit so they are taking a risk on even giving it to you and then you want to complain of a fee for paying on the day it is due? You need to pay your bill when it is received. It's pretty clear that most people complaining on this probably should not have a credit card at all.

I find it quite amusing reading all of these negative comments about Credit One. First of all, of course there's going to be annual fees and higher interest involved. This credit card is helping you repair your credit, which you screwed up yourself. If you're getting offers for this card, good luck getting approved with a bigger name card that doesn't have an annual fee.

I accepted my first Credit One card almost a year ago with a $300 limit. It was quickly raised to $500 after 5 on time payments. Today, I received my second card from them. I am fully aware of the annual fees, and am okay with them because I put myself in this situation. I pay my card off a few days before the due date every month. In doing so, I avoid paying any interest. It's not that difficult folks. Since accepting my first card, my credit score has jumped almost 60 points in a little under a year. The annual fee becomes less of an issue when I think about that. I highly recommend this card to anybody who has enough sense to make your payments on time. :)

I call into their customer service and explain the problem and they tell me not to worry about it - look at it as a gift. Two days later I call back because my card had been charged for something I didn't do. I call in and they tell me about the charges at Walmart the day after the card was paid off. I hadn't used the card in over a month. I'm not getting angrier and angrier with the person on the other end and end up closing the account and telling to start a fraud investigation.

Three days later I call again to confirm the account had been closed. Four weeks later I get a notice in the mail that I owe $556.00. I pass it off knowing the account is supposed to be in an investigation. Now I am getting debt collectors calling me for the balance due. I call Credit One again completely enraged and the investigation was never started - the account wasn't closed and I can't understand a damn thing they're saying. They're still telling me I owe $556.00 and that they will start an investigation and will call me back. DO NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH THIS BANK. THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF. This is the ABSOLUTE worst credit company I've ever dealt with in my life and I have multiple accounts with other companies. My bill is always due on the 15th, which is when I choose to pay it online and that's never been an issue. The 15th of August I received a call saying that I owed on my account, which I already knew about and I told the woman that I was planning to pay it online that day (this was VERY early in the morning). The woman refused to let me off the phone until I agreed to make a payment. She asked for $25 but I knew the bill was $75 so she compromised and agreed to $50 (what reputable company even does that especially when I'm intending to pay $75+).

The following Friday they hit my credit report with a "delinquent" payment and my credit took a nice little plunge. I have never in my life had a "delinquent" payment on my credit report and these people won't even attempt to make it right. I have a letter stating that I made a payment on the 15th but they didn't withdraw from account until days later. They are also, refusing to remove the fee that they tacked on to my account because it was "delinquent". I've never dealt with such rude customer service and no one will admit that they are wrong or made a mistake. They answer the phones and get your card number then immediately ask "how much do you want to pay today?" not "how can I help you?" These people are a complete illegal mess.

I've taken to stating my intentions very clearly including that I understand any ramifications of a late payment but still they push. They misrepresent themselves, neglect to tell you that they will add processing fees to any payment made over the phone, prey on those trying to rebuild. They do not listen to their customers, they stick to their scripts to the extreme. One more payment and the account is closed.

I've been a Credit One customer since July 12, 2015 with an opening credit line of 300 dollars. I've made "large" payments but still haven't managed to pay off the entire. I'm a spender with three children and school coming up. I've managed to now have maxed the card out. I do enjoy making payments with this card with so many ways to pay and Credit One always updating and posting available funds and recent activity. They are an awesome company. No other card have I experienced such on time on point account service.

I was currently aggravated with being charged and return check fee of 25 bucks. I was getting ready to go upset but then I calmed down. Called customer service and spoke very calmly and nicely and told them that 25 dollars was a lot of money to a person struggling, that wants to keep the account open. What did Credit One do? My good "friends" at Credit One took off three of the 10 dollar fees that I paid to send them money and applied that to the 25 dollar overdraft I had which was more than the 25 returned check fee.

See everyone? If you speak nicely and calmly Credit One services and reps will come up with a plan of action to keep your account open without killing your pockets totally. I haven't had any credit limit increases but I'll will post once this card is paid in full hopefully. Fingers crossed. This week I'll be able to do it. Summer trips are done and school shopping is done so right now I'm good. Be patient and diligent everyone.

They transferred the balance that includes the fraudulent airfare to my new credit card number, now I can't prove that it even existed because it is lumped into the new balance. I'm informed they are working on it. I asked how did this happen that I have to give my last four digits of my social security number to their automated system, they say I must have given out that info.

Now they allowed the thieves to increase my credit in it for which they charged me $19.00 fee. I told them I did not want an increase and was informed that if I did not accept it, my credit would be over the limit for which there is, you guessed it, another fee and it would be reported to my credit bureaus. I have never been late, always paid more than the minimum and this is how they treat you. I can't wait to get rid of this card. I believe they are the ones that ripped me off for the airline charge to Nevada. Seems shady that they are located there as well. So I told the ** to cancel my account. She said "Okay it's closed." I said "Send me a verification email" she said "I did. It will take 20 min to arrive."

Never got the email - called back and told to cancel my ** account. She said they can't until I pay the 3 dollar remaining balance. I told her "I'll pay it over the phone with my debit card." Before I could call to cancel the card I received a bill for $75.00 with a minimum of payment of $25.00 due barely two weeks after accepting the card. I called to cancel the card and was told by the operator that since I have not used the card that I may cancel anytime in writing which could take up to 3 months before I receive a decision. The next morning I figured I'd better log onto the Credit One website and pay the minimum balance to avoid late fees only to discover an attempt to charge me for the online transaction and only offer me on other option which required my bank routing information. I declined both options because I suspected that I had made a terrible mistake and began to research Credit One only to find over 1000 consumer complaints and counting.

I then figured I would go ahead and pay the balance using the $9.95 first option and submit my cancellation request. When I logged onto the Credit One website again a late fee of $25.00 had been added raising the balance to $100.00 on a card I had never used and only had in my possession for 3 weeks. Still I just wanted to pay the balance to avoid any further unnecessary debt. However, the site would not allow me to navigate to the payment features then after trying a few times I started receiving this message: "Sorry. Credit One online banking is unavailable at this time. Try again later." Something needs to be done to stop Credit One from these illegal practices.

Received a call while I am at work this morning from this card asking me to pay them at once... I said I already paid $25 thru mail but they insisted that I pay them $108! Then the girl who I initially I was talking to passed the phone to her alleged supervisor... Same thing - he insisted that I pay the whole amount. OMG. Would you believe my due date is still on the 21st of this month, and they are already asking for their money. So I ended up hanging up the phone because I am in the middle of my work.

So when I arrived home, I called them up. And after 5 tries, my call went thru. Well I complained to the person I talked to why they are doing it. I told him I paid $25 which was sent thru the mail and another $50 paid thru my online banking. And I told him I will pay the remaining $33 and right this minute you may close the account because I am not anymore interested with that credit card. I told him "why do you kept calling your customers any time of the day to demand to pay the whole amount when the due date is still in on the 21st?" Then he said "because we want you to maintain a good standing." Really? I told him I have another credit card but never they harassed me the way they are doing it. People working in that bank are so unprofessional! And yes I will post in all social media to inform everybody especially my friends not to avail this stupid credit card!!!

I'm fairly new to this card. I am absolutely astounded at how many reviews are blaming this company for their own financial irresponsibility. If you wait until the due date, you pay the express fee. That's your fault. The dashboard is extremely simple to use. You have two options: 1. Express pay $9.95 or 2. Free in 2 business days. What's the problem? Pay before the due date and it's free. Pay your bill in full every month, no interest. Most of these reviews are people complaining about late charges and the express fee. These are things solely under the power of the borrower.

I am thankful to have had a second chance after my ex-husband surprised me with a bankruptcy. This is a rebuilding card. You have to buy your credit back folks. You may have an American Express attitude but you are not entitled to an American Express which is why we are all here talking about this card. So after buying credit back, I anticipate qualifying for a better card, then a better card until I finally get my AE back.

Where do I begin? This is the first time I am so upset with a credit card company. I have multiple credit cards, I am always on time with my payments 100%. I have always had high credit scores for the past 7 yrs. I accepted this card thinking it was a card from the real bank CAPITAL ONE. When I realized it was not Capital One I called to cancel it and because I found out I have to pay a $75 yearly fee. I don't need a secured card because of my credit score being in the 700ds. When I call to cancel that's when they told me I have a balance from a couple of local shops. I never used the card. How is that possible?

They then said my card was stolen, ok obviously cuz I never used the card. So they said not to worry - I'm not responsible. They will credit the account for the unauthorized purchase. So I told them I didn't want the card because it's secured. I don't have a need for those cards cuz of my good credit standing for the past few years. They said as soon as they resolve the fraudulent transactions they would get back to me regarding me wanting the card cancelled.

2 weeks later I received a letter stating that I was credited the unauthorized transactions and the card now had the full amount originally given to me. I called again and told them to close the card cuz I did not need it. The agent advised that it was a very good card, they had credited my account and that I should not cancel it and I should activate the new replacement card. I took his advice and activated the new card. About two days later the collection dept called. I was puzzled and upset, they had never credited the account for the unauthorized transactions. They were lying in order for me to activate the card so they can mess up my credit score, because I said I did not need such a card given that I have really good credit.

They started harassing me with calls very early in the morning till late nights. I told them to please stop doing this to me. I told them how important my credit score was to me cuz I was saving to buy a house next year, telling them this was a big mistake. They are messing up my credit score at a rapid rate, they report to the credit reports that I am late for my payments, yet I did make any transactions on the card. After saying they had credited the unauthorized purchases on the card, they send me another letter totally different from the first one accusing me of theft. They say I have to pay the balance because the transactions were authorized. They later added new fictitious transactions, but I told them to stop lying cuz the replacement card was still in my possession so it's in my wallet therefore new transactions are lies. A few days later they sent another letter without the new mentioned fraudulent transactions.

THESE THIEVES are now reporting lies to the credit bureaus even after I have asked them to close the credit card. I would be lucky if they closed that card. They say you can go paperless but they are lying. When I tried to make an account online it refuses to let me login after making the account. YOU ARE DOOMED no matter what with this company, I don't know what to do with them. It was my plan to buy a house to be with my two kids this year but I am bound to get high interest rates because of Credit One messing up my credit report.

I suffer from depression. This has taken a toll on me emotionally. I wake up in the middle of the night unable to sleep because of this. I am a hard working single mom, I work very hard to have good credit and CREDIT ONE THIEVES have ruined my credit. I plan to dispute this with the credit bureaus. I don't know what I was thinking when I accepted this card. When I could not login to view my account online I called them about it, they said to use Internet Explorer and it would work. It's BS. It doesn't work with any browser.

I have read multiple complaints online about CREDIT ONE customers having the same login issues. They don't let you login so you don't have records of all the payments sent to them, that way they can say you were late multiple times, and mess up your credit score. This is the most hateful company I have ever come across. How can this country allow a company to abuse its citizens like CREDIT ONE is doing to us? I refuse to pay for transactions I did not make, FICTITIOUS TRANSACTIONS invented by CREDIT ONE. HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP!!! CREDIT ONE IS DESTROYING MY CREDIT!!!

This company needs to be shut down and made to pay a settlement for the way they are fraudulently abusing consumers. I thought they were Capital One so went ahead and signed up for the credit card. Everything was okay until I immediately opened my account to see how much credit I had been given and was very surprised to see that there was a 90.00 fee already added to the card. I knew right away that this was not Capital One, but Credit One Bank. So I decided to use the card and just pay it off immediately and close the account. I went to the website to pay on the card and my username and password no longer work. I called and they said that my account had been shut down. I asked why? She said maybe my browser was wrong or I needed to be on a laptop. I said that don't make sense because I am using a laptop.

She said "reset password and you should be able to use it." I reset password. Still saying my account is shut down. Call back. Man answers the phone and says that the reason that my account was shut down was because I tried to use the card on Amazon on July 20, 2015 and it was a fraudulent activity because they consider Amazon to be a fraudulent website. He lied to me. He said "I have taken the lock off of your account and you now have to reset your name and password." Tried to do that 5 or 6 times. Did not work. Called back. There is now a recording on that says that I can pay my bill using express payment for $9.95 or go online to use standard payment. However, they make sure to lock you out of your account so that you are unable to make a standard payment. They do this in order to make sure that you are unable to pay your bill on time and they can add more fees and to deliberately to mess up your credit.

The sad part is that they say that if you use their card that it can help reestablish your credit. That is a bold face lie. My bill is not due until August 6 so after reading reviews about this fraudulent company, I wanted to make sure that I was making a payment a week before the due date online. The company has now shut down my account so that I cannot make an online payment. How does this type of behavior continue to happen and these crooks do not go to jail. If I were to loan someone money and then make it were it was impossible to pay the money back without generating ridiculous fees, someone would be knocking on my door to take me to jail. It is pretty pathetic. However, I know in the end they will not get away with legally robbing people for their money. This needs to stop and this type of behavior should not even be considered business. What a shame!!!

I am working on building and upgrading my credit. I already have one card that I'm using very carefully to that end. Soon enough, I started getting offers in the mail, but I wasn't ready for another card yet. Last month, June 2015, I received an unsolicited offer from Credit One, although I didn't realize it at first because their logo looks quite similar to Capital One at a quick glance. I looked it over and still didn't want another card, so it went in the trash. You can imagine how irritated I was when two envelopes down I find a bill for the card for which I had just tossed the offer. That's right, the same day. Needless to say, after chuckling at their confidence or audacity in simply assuming their offer would be accepted, I tossed said bill in the trash. After all, I had never signed anything, nor been issued a card to have had an opportunity to use it.

Now, 29 July 2015, I get a bill saying that I owe them $1.34 interest on the unpaid $75 annual fee. Somebody has some explaining to do here. How can I possibly owe interest on a fee for a card which I never requested, applied for, or acknowledged in any way? Don't trust this company. I'm inclined to report them to the State AG.

I had a bad divorce (who really has a great one?) and had very bad credit afterwards. I received an offer from Credit One and really needed a card so I took it. A few years later I opened the account. I was over the limit and they called me at my workplace to collect. I NEVER SUPPLIED MY WORK PHONE NUMBER TO THEM. That call arrived today, and I have decided to pay it off and close the account ASAP.

While it helped short term for me (with bad credit), it is not an ideal solution. My advice -- take this credit card for no more than 3 years to rebuild credit, keeping in mind that their fees are VERY HIGH and their business methods are questionable. Once your credit is better, at least try for a secured card if available or apply for another card (check your credit score first). Also, if you have a bank account, make your payments to them online through your bank's bill pay as Credit One delays online payments through their website by 5 days (which means that the payment doesn't show as available credit for 5 full days), or they charge a fee to an expedited online payment on their website.

I was becoming very ill and had my mother make a payment online for me and she made the mistake and processing the payment on the Credit One's site instead of my online banking account to avoid late fee. My mother is not very mindful and did not check to make sure my banking information was correct and processed the payment twice as she forgot she did it the first time. Unfortunately for me it was on an account I haven't had for years and I notified this to the customer service representative. They understood that I no longer had that account from Chase and all I needed to do is mail them a copy of my current bank verification (included my savings account information) and it would take about 2 to 3 weeks to review and they would reopen my account.

I called after 3 weeks and they informed me that they did receive my bank verification, but could not open my account as they needed it for the account that I tried making the payment on to begin with. I explained the story once again and what the first customer service representative stated, she came back on the phone and told me I would have to send a certified letter stating my story in order for them to open my account. I asked to speak with a supervisor, it took about 45 minutes before I could speak with one and she came on the phone and apologise for the wait time and told me she reviewed my account and since I was a great customer she would give me the courtesy of reopening my account and it would take 2 to 3 business days. She also asked me to please update my banking information to make sure this would not happen in the future. I thanked her for her help, this was on Tuesday (7/21/2015).

On 7/25/2015 my account was still closed. I called back again and it started all over again. I went to the supervisor who told me that I would have to send in the bank verification on the old account. When I asked why did the other supervisor did not call me back to advise me this, he said they don't have to, they note the account. I asked to speak to his supervisor, the manager, the same story. My problem with all of this is there is no customer service anymore. They have wasted my time and the customer service representative are giving out the incorrect information over and over again. No one cares and they do not bother to correct the issue.

I am no longer going to fight to get my account open because I feel like they are just wasting my time and it will just be something else. If I would have just missed my payment and waited until the next month they would have just charged me with a late fee, but I was trying to do the right thing and make sure I made my payment on time. Never ever will I deal with Credit One, Capital One all they way. I have never been treated this way ever. Horrible customer service and they have no idea what they are talking about or what their protocol of their guidelines, so very sad.

Initially, when the account was established, a balance of $45 was charged against my account as an administration fee. I immediately called the bank, spoke with a customer service representative and insisted that the bank close my account and waive any and all fees that have or will be charged against the account. The representative attempted to defer the cancellation, but with my insistence, she assured me that the account had been cancelled and no fee will be charged against the account.

I made a payment July 18 2015 for the full amount 81.96. My bank paid them from checking account July 21th Credit One Bank has no record but contacted my bank for the payment and Citibank has proof that they accepted the money. Yet they say it was not done. Told to call back in 15 days. They will decide the problem then. Is that good service. They say it is my problem not theirs. Still they took the money and they are asking for full payment now. They have the money already. They wanted data update which I had to pay $25. I did it in good faith. That payment shows up in the records and have the payment. The first payment is somewhere? They refuse to check their records to solve the problem. They say it is my job and problem. When I try to pay with the regular payment service, it never or won't clear that same day even if you pay in the morning PST! I'm up in the air about this card thus far. I understand the high fees and all and figure that if I use the card responsibly, it should help me rebuild my credit. The issue, however, is that I have not received the card as yet. I was approved for the card about a month and a half ago and was told that it would take seven to 10 business days for me to receive it. The card didn't come, so I called and they cancelled the first card and sent out a second card. They also updated my address so that instead of coming to my home, it would go to my PO Box. That was just about 10 days ago. Well, the card still isn't here.

I called today (22-July) and was told by the customer service agent that he could see in the notes where I requested that my address be updated but it actually wasn't changed. So, he updated the address and sent out a THIRD card (after cancelling the second one), this time with rush processing. They were going to charge me $19.99 for rush processing but he stated that he was going to waive the fee and the card should be here in three to five business days. So, if it's not here by next Thursday, I'm going to cancel the account as I was approved for a Capital One card... Oh, and I forgot to mention that last week, I got a bill for the $75 fee even though I haven't received the card yet.

I called on the 20th advising Credit One that I would be 5 days late on my payment due to unexpected problems. I asked if they would be willing to waive the 25.00 late fee that would be incurred and she told me they could do that after I made my payment, since as of the 20th... no late payment had yet been added to my account. Yesterday, I received a call from the same number that appeared on my phone today only yesterday, when I answered the call... no one responded on the other end. Today, another call from that number and when I answered a representative from Credit One confirmed my name and then went on to say I was late on my payment. I told him I had called 2 days ago and told them I would be late on my payment and reiterated that the payment would be made on the 25th.

He said he would post date a payment and asked for my checking account number and I told him I did not know today which account the money would come out of and he got very pushy. I then told him that I wouldn't tolerate being harassed and that I had contacted them, that my payments were always on time and this was an exception and that they would hear from me on the 25th. He then told me he was sending my call to a supervisor and the conversation with this individual was the same with the first except that the supervisor told me I'd better make the payment on the 25th or they would send the matter to the escalation department.

This company is dishonest in its representation, otherwise I would not have ever opened an account with them. You find out after the account is opened how deceptive they are, even using Capital One's logo. Your open line is 400.00 but after you open the account you find they are charging a 75.00 fee which has already been taken from your credit line leaving you with 325.00. This is a company I would warn credit card seekers to steer away from. It's not worth what you'll go through in frustration! Plus... like most of the credit card companies, jobs have been given to Middle Eastern Indians who have very thick accents and are very difficult to understand, which is extremely frustrating. American consumers should expect more from these companies by hiring Americans who English can be clearly understood!

I checked online for reviews for Credit One tonight because when I checked Credit One's website, I am being charged a late fee and a payment I made online on their website doesn't even show that I made that payment. This is the second month that this has happened to me. And it just seemed fishy to me. Sure enough, I see that others have had this same kind of experience. I made payments on the same day to a few other of my credit cards and they have posted with no problem. I, like so many others, called in last month about my payment and talked to people with broken english. That was annoying!

What I also hate about this card, is whenever they do decide to receive an online payment, the money will be withdrawn from your account, but you still have to wait before it shows up on your card. I started rebuilding my credit with a card and have other cards, but I just wish that I didn't have to deal with this one. I don't like what I saw in the reviews and I know that I made those payments. I pay the majority of my bills online and this is the only company where there has been a problem with receiving and processing it.

Again they sent card to wrong address. I contacted them again to say I was concerned about payment being late. They assured me new card would be expedited to correct address, late fee cancelled and I could make payment when I had the card and account number. Three days after last call I received 5 rude calls by some jerk telling me the bank trusted me with the credit they gave so I should trust him and give him my bank information over the phone to make a payment of my balance on the card. When I asked what the issue was, I received different answers, one of them being that PNC Bank is a "risky merchant".

I was told that the "issue" would be resolved that night. I received no call back that day and attempted to use the card the following day for gas, the card was declined again. I spoke with a supervisor again told me that it would take another 24-48 hours for the issue to be resolved and promised that the issue would be resolved. Again I received no call back. I called again today and spoke to Rachelle who told me the issue still wasn't resolved and to "keep my phone line open"... I dealt with some poor customer service but these guys were beyond poor service. Told him why would they reject an application due to altered last name? He said they would leave it on file for further review when the letter clearly states that they can't approve my application at this time. That is when I noticed it wasn't Capital One since I had another letter from them in front of me.

I then setup an account immediately for Identity theft and reported them. I then decided to call again and again another idiot. He then asked me for my social security and I refused to give him that information and asked if I could give him the reservation number. I asked him when I had applied and how was the application processed and why was my application rejected - he started getting smart with me and giving me attitude. I told him that this is fraudulent and that I am reporting them. I have NEVER had an application rejected because there is an altered last name. I accepted the offer of a Visa Card... Their logo is identical to Capital One cards which is what I thought I was accepting a Visa card from. When I received the Credit One Visa the logo still looked like Capital One Visa. I am a senior citizen and my vision isn't all that great (especially at night, so I do not drive after dark). A few weeks after I received the card I decided to fill up my car with gas & when I received my first statement a week later, I was shocked to see an annual fee & activation fee in excess of nearly $200.00 + the Shell station charge for the gas! I've never paid annual fees or service charges in my entire adult life. I called them & asked them to explain why I had all these charges for the use of the card & the very rude, thick accented rep (call center is in the Philippines and obviously they hire persons who have not been trained or high school... In my personal opinion).

Anyway fast forward, I received my June statement with credit balance of $158.33 with no payment due by 6/7/15 as I have auto payment from my checking account. Credit One accepted my payment on 5/27/15 even though I had a credit balance. I got a collection call at 7:30AM CST, which awakened me & woman didn't identify herself or company and rudely said "what's your SSN?" & I replied "I don't know who you are" & hung up on her. She called back at 8:00AM & I didn't answer...

Around 10:30AM (& 8 calls later) I answered & I again asked who she is & what company... I couldn't understand her name but Credit One so I accepted the call & asked her why she called me 10 times in less than 4 hours & she talked (yelled) over me & demanded that I give her my SSN, card #, name, address, phone, email and mother's maiden name. I told her she called me & she has all that info on her screen but did repeat several times my account # & last 4 of my Social.

She told me I was in default on my Mind payment & I told her my bill is on auto pay & would call back after contacting my bank & she started yelling at me that she wasn't hanging up until I gave her my debit card to pay & I explained I couldn't continue call as my home healthcare provider just came & she became enraged & told me I would be arrested & hauled to court, my house taken, etc, etc and also will call me every 5 minutes until I made the late charge, the $13+ change I owed. I had her on speaker & my occupational therapist (male) overheard her threats & asked me if he could talk to her and I handed him the phone & he cited laws regarding hours creditors can call (once per day if they speak to me, the illegal threats of having me arrested & taking my home etc) then he hung up & put a block on her #.

Ironically I received my June bill & sure enough they charged $500. Late fee & do not show my $158.33 credit balance as a credit/payment! I called my bank & was told that auto pay in June was not accepted by Credit One as I had a very balance & my bank is sending Credit One proof of my auto pay history & Credit One rejection of June auto pay due to my credit balance & current laws & regulations protecting both consumers & lenders pointing out the serious violations they are guilty of violating my civil rights. I always pay my bills prior to the due date in full or in case of splurges, I pay $330-500.00 not just minimum payment of the individual washer and dryer/dryer. Hopefully if this company will be investigated, fined.

Vet this folks, I've had this card a few years... Thought I was accepting a Capital One card (note logo is identical to Capital One Cards).. Still clueless after I received the card I decided to buy gas and to my surprise a week or so later I received my first statement from Credit One and not only the gas (around $40.00 for a fill up) there was an annual fee, charges for the plastic card processing & credit protect. I was shocked because I never, ever have to pay an annual fee or any service & processing fees (I'm a senior citizen with excellent credit).

Yesterday morning at 7:30am CST from a foreign thick accent who, when I answered my phone (I was awakened by this early call) said to me "give me your social security number" just like that without identifying herself or company! I hung up. Then she called back about 25 minutes later and since I was brushing my teeth I didn't answer the call. Between 8:00-11:00 am she called 8 times! I finally took the last call & again same question & I said "who are YOU & what company?"

I couldn't make out her name but understood "Credit One" & I was wondering what they were calling me for. She then said I hadn't made a payment since April! I told her that is impossible because I have all my bills on auto pay from my bank (due to Credit One's crazy website that takes only 1 payment, takes the money out same day & then drags their feet up to 5 days to post then attempts to charge a $50.00 late fee!). So I opted for my bank to pay them directly. This woman was so rude & loud shouting at me that I needed to bring my account current immediately by my ATM debit card. I told her I would check my bank & call her back then she went crazy verbally telling me to pay right now or I would be arrested, taken to court and my home taken from me!

Before I hung up she also told me she would (& did) call me every 5 minutes till I paid! I looked on my bank account online & saw a payment was credited to them 5/27/15 (due date 6/7/15) & I then called my bank & spent the next hour on the phone with them while they found out why no payment was made 6/27... The bank had attempted to electronically pay them & the payment was rejected by Credit One! As I waited on hold, I found my June statement from Credit One and I had a credit balance of $158.33 with them so according to my bank this was reason the payment was refused.

I called back Credit One and asked to speak to management and spoke to a Mary Joy who listened to me & she still insisted I made a charge late in June & was in default. I was polite and told her my bank did attempt to pay but was rejected because of my credit... She still insisted that I owed the $37.16 I had charged. I told her again her math was off because my statement said credit balance $158.33 & amount due = $00.00 due by 6/7. I finally got angry & yelled at her that this is harassment and violates my civil rights & multiple banking laws & hung up. Ha ha.

Later in afternoon I received my July bill from them with late charges & no credit balance forwarded onto bill! I refuse to pay their outrageous charges & what happened to my credit balance? Do they think I gave them $158.33 to take the Philippines call center out for lunch? This bank needs to be INVESTIGATED FOR ILLEGAL BANKING FRAUD & VIOLATIONS IN HARASSING CUSTOMERS VIA PHONE. I rest my case and please do not do business with Credit One!

Credit One Bank uses the old automobile sale "bait and switch" modus operandi method. First, they will tell you that you have been pre-approve for $1,500 credit card limit but once you apply you will receive only a $500 credit card limit. However that's not the area where they will try to rip you off your hard-earned money. If you want to pay your monthly payments super fast, meaning if you pay it today they have what they call "Express Payment" and that amount will be credit available to you within 24 business day. BUT there's a $10.00 additional fee.

Well if you want to use their Customer Service Dept. for their "Standard Payment," meaning it will NOT be credit available to you until 4 business days, there will be a $10.00 additional fee. Credit One Bank's paying philosophy is almost similar to the old "mobsters' loan sharking" method. The only difference is that Credit One Bank doesn't send hulking gorillas to your home to break your legs with their baseball bats. Plus...it seems the entire Customer Service Dept. staff speaks with a bag of marbles in their mouths. Not only you CANNOT understand a word they said but their professionalism is left to be undesired; it seems like they want to get rid of you expeditiously so they can attend their daily cultural ceremonies.

I received an alert from my checking account bank that my account was overdrawn. I log in, and wow, an express payment of over six hundred dollars that I did not make to Credit One went through. I alert my bank that it's a pretty weird payment. They mark it as fraud and I call the credit card. They don't seem to understand what happened. They marked it as fraud, and I went on my merry way. Note: I was not late on payments and had just paid them $425.

A few days later, I receive another overdraft notice from my bank. I look at my account, and ANOTHER express payment of $1180 went through. What in the world? I log back into my credit card, and I look through my payments and I realize that their system is duplicating past payments that I've made. Odd. I cancel the card for protection. They tell me it's cancelled. Fine. I'll wait for a new card.

Well the next day I call the credit card company back to verify my account was indeed closed, and it was, but not before a fraud charge of over $680 went through. What? How can a charge go through on an account that was supposed to be closed? They told me that it takes 24 hours before the card is officially closed when their systems update. Yeeeeeah okay. That's shady.

I report this card as fraud, and they tell me everything is taken care of now, that my replacement card is in the mail and no more charges can be made. Fine. Two weeks later, no card. Also note: once the card is cancelled you no longer have access to your online account. You cannot log in to monitor anything. You must have an active, valid card to access your account. No card, but I do receive in the mail that my mailing address has been successfully updated...to one that isn't my address. I have not moved. Of course I call the bank.

As it turns out, AFTER my account was closed, someone either hacked into their shady system OR someone who works there changed my mailing address AND my email address in an attempt to get my new card. At this point, I've had enough. I completely close the account and tell them to mail me my last bill and statement.

I just now, THREE WEEKS LATER, received a statement...that has that $680 fraud charge on it plus two express payment fees for the two payments I never made. I call them again, asking them to tell me what my actual balance is. They don't really know, because their fraud department is still investigating and it will take up to SIX MONTHS to complete the investigation. I ask to speak to a manager. They tell me it's 30-90 days and I'll be receiving information soon and I can just make the minimum payments...only I refuse to give them my bank account information.

So, it's been weeks and weeks. My account was completely compromised. They still do not know what I owe, and now my credit rating (which was just fine before this) will end up taking dings because I don't know what to actually pay them. In short, someone who works for them is either engaging in criminal activity and stealing your information or their system is so weak that their security sucks.

Furthermore, they do not have 24 hour customer service, and aren't even open on Sundays so if you do have to file a fraud alert, you have to wait until they're open, in which case EVEN MORE fraud can happen. I am now filing police reports and wondering if this is going to end up in court. BEWARE. DO NOT USE THEM. DO NOT. IT'S NOT WORTH IT.

A representative calls me telling me I'm past due, etc. which I told him I wasn't able to make a payment until next billing cycle. I didn't have my money. He proceeded to ask "well you don't have another account?" I said "No, I had to close my account. I'm behind on many of my payments". He kept insisting to ask other people for account number to pay that way and asking why I haven't opened a new account?! Really?!! And the same rep keeps calling me asking the same questions. Very unprofessional and rude.

I opened a credit card with Credit One Bank in the hopes of rebuilding my credit. I only received a $400 limit which I didn't mind because I was eager to start my rebuilding process. Once I got the card and activated I did decide to check reviews on the company and didn't see anything positive about them. But, I still decided to take my chances because I need to rebuild my credit. I made a couple of online purchases with this card with no problem. However, when it's time to pay the monthly bill. I attempted to make an online payment. I provided the company with my saving acct info and the payment was declined. I thought that was strange because I knew I had money in my acct. So, I attempted to make the same payment again for it to be declined again. So, I decided to change accts and use my checking acct to see if the payment would go through that way. And, it eventually did go through.

Fast forward to yesterday I attempt to make a $8 purchase at Toys R Us with my kid and it was declined. I hadn't reached my spending limit so I decided to call Credit One to see why was my purchase declined. They then told me that my acct was put on temporary hold because I had 2 declined bill payments. I told them that wasn't my fault that they were declined because the money was in the account and available. Furthermore they still took the payment from my checking account that was with the same banking institution as my saving account and that payment went through. So, as soon as the payment was received the HOLD should have been lifted. They told me I needed to get a letter from my bank to mail to them to verify that these accounts were in fact my accounts.

1st of all it's 2015 - who still sends mail through the postal service. IF I would have did that it probably would have taken 2 weeks or more to just get the hold lifted. The "middle eastern" guy - ANTHONY, I was talking to clearly didn't want to deal with me and passed me along to his supervisor. In my experience I only get passed along to a supervisor if I'm upset or yelling at the representative. But, that wasn't the case yet. I nicely told the lady that I wasn't upset so I didn't understand why I needed to speak to a supervisor but since she was here to help I hoped she would do just that... HELP. I explained the situation to her and she still insisted on this letter. So, I told them we could call my bank and have it verified. I've never heard of such a thing in my life that a credit card company needs to verify banking information. One company has nothing to do with the other.

So, we call my FCU to confirm my account; while on the phone the Credit One rep - SONYA spoke with my FCU and verified that I did in fact have a savings acct at that bank. So, I'm thinking this is the end of the call - the hold will be lifted and I can go on about my day. Then she says that she needs to verify my checking account. I said "Ma'am we were just on the phone with them. Why didn't you ask when we were on the phone." Is it that unlikely that I have a checking and a saving account with the same bank... (like really). Long story short, this HORRIBLE bank made me feel like a criminal for my own accounts. How about targeting the real criminals and treat your customers fairly. This process is stupid and embarrassing. Needless to say I will be paying off any monies owed to them and NEVER using this credit card again. I want to feel like a valued customer with any company I deal with and not like a criminal.

I got this credit card because we were traveling to Mexico and I did not want to use any of the others I had. It had a small line of credit which was perfect. Since then, they wanted to offer me a credit line increase of $250.00 but it would cost me $14.95 to do it and they are charging me a $6.25 monthly fee if I do not use it. What the heck. When I asked them why they are charging me this fee he stated "If you do not use it, they charge a fee so they can continue to report to the credit companies to help my credit". I told him "I do not need your help or your monthly fee". I have other credit cards with large credit lines, a mortgage, car payments. Close the account today. Do not get a credit card from them. The only good about this card is that it was easy to get. Once you get it and if you set up an online account I guess it might seem normal. Unless when you set it up you accidentally put in one wrong number on your account. So when my payment was due it did not go through. No problem right. I tried to login and see why my payment never came out and I found out that I was locked out. I called customer serv and they said I gave a fraudulent bank account to make a payment which is ridiculous because I am calling them asking why my payment didn't come out. She had me read my actual account number and I guess that because it was one digit off they believed me. Her exact words were, "Let me correct that for you sir." So she entered the proper account information and she asked how much I wanted to pay. I said 50 dollars.

Remember these words because this is what they will say to you every time you tell them how much you want to pay. "Sir let’s go ahead and make it 100 dollars. Then you will have more to spend on your card." OMG they treat you like you are stupid. If I wanted to pay 100 I'd pay 100 and yeah I guess I'd have more to spend on my card but less in my pocket. These Filipinos and Indians are so highly scripted it's a joke that they say you are talking to a human. They are robots. So as she said she corrected it and I made my payment, guess what? Next month same thing. I was locked out of being able to log into my account. I called in and they are telling me my account was fraudulent.

I read my account number and again off by the same number. Here is the catch though. I was dropped by them. They closed my account. The old two strikes rule. I told them that I thought the lady changed it last time but I guess I was supposed to go online and change my account number after I spoke to them last time. So I was a paying customer, never late except those two times and even then only by 2 or 3 days and they closed my account. I begged if they could have someone from the US call me so I could explain because these people cannot handle curve balls. Three weeks later I got a call and she told me the same thing. I said "fine can I make a payment?" "Yes for a 10 dollar fee or you can go online and pay." But I am locked out and can't log in anymore. Actually never again. Why lock a person out of their online account so they cannot make payments?

Again I just want to reiterate what my crime here was. When setting up auto payment I entered my account number ex ** instead I typed **. I called in to correct it and when I did that I figured that they corrected the mistake for me in the online system. They didn't, even though the words they used were "let me correct that for you sir." So again when they tried to take out my payment it was an invalid account. So they dumped me. Now I either have to call in or mail a payment. Calling in costs 10 bucks but I do it anyways because I always forget to mail it in time. Then I say "I want to pay 50 dollars" and they say, "Sir let's make it" and I cut them off and say "I want to just pay 50 bucks," and they say "that will be 9.99 for MoneyGram sir. Why don't you just pay online?" And I say “because I got kicked out. “

That's it though. Oh one more thing. My sister paid off the entire balance one time because we wanted to see how it would affect my credit score. I call in. Explain that my sister wants to make a payment for me. The guy barely understands but has me put her on the phone. She gives him all of the info he asks to satisfy their sec requirements. 3 weeks later I get a letter stating that they were going to suspend my account unless the person that made the payment filled out all of these forms. What a pain in the you know what. Totally unreasonable. Treat you like a child. I now have a 787 credit score and I am proud to say that I am not a Credit One Bank customer because they dumped me.

The first call to them I spelled my name and made sure they understood each and every letter (i.e. S as in Sam, L as in Letter etc...) the person repeated this all back CORRECTLY to me while on the phone. However, when I checked my account online (never did receive my new card) they spelled my name wrong! Called again to get name corrected & asked them why I haven't received new card, and if they could make correction and make sure new card would have correct spelling.

The person supposedly was going to correct my name however he said I would have to send them copy of my marriage certificate, along with a letter stating my name changed from previous to married name along with $25.00 for new card! I asked to speak to supervisor since I didn't have to do any of this for other cards nor did I have to pay to get new card. I was hung up on 4 times (supposedly accidentally disconnected) on 5th call I talked to a so-called supervisor who did confirm I had to pay $25 also send all the information. Needless to say my husband and I will be paying off our balance (we both have cards) and cancel our cards with them. This company is AWFUL! They also need reps that can speak ENGLISH!

The on hold music played in the foreground during my 2 conversations, including with the supervisor, and I tried to tell them I could not hear what they were saying well at all. They could have cared less. If you use this card for a hotel deposit, and the hotel does not actually charge your account, they will keep it pending for longer than the 7 days they state it will remain on hold, and don't care to help you. Capitol One is a people friendly, customer service oriented bank that this company should take lessons from. Next, their service charges are outrageous.

We will be paying this account off as quickly as possible and would tell EVERYONE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, try a different reputable company that cares about their customers. When I told them I would close this account out, I was told basically to go right ahead. They would not even answer a simple bank related question because I was not the primary card holder and my husband is. Not true of any other bank or company. I am a cardholder with my husband and they gladly took the payment that I made, not my husband on the account.

The charge I was inquiring about was made by ME on MY card and all I asked was how long until the pending charge was reversed. Although I am a card holder, this question could have been answered for any living person, whether you have a card or not. After getting to the screaming portion of the call, he answered the question as 7 days and I said, "It has been 7 days." This should never have happened this way. He should have been courteous and answered this easily, but preferred to continue to keep saying he couldn't answer the question for me. WOW, WOW, WOW. Please use another customer friendly company if you want a credit card. There are so many.

The most complaints I read on here are about customer service. Well you pay your bill on time you don't have to worry about the side of things. The other complaints I see have to do with fees and the biggest problem fee is the charge of $9.95 for a payment. That is or an express payment or a payment you want posted the next day. If you are needing money on there that bad say if you're a day away from your due date then there is no reason to use that feature. Just use the regular payment method that is free and takes 3-4 days to post due to the payment having to clear your bank.

Remember this card is for rebuilding or bad credit people you're not going to get rates or fees worth anything. Sure there are cards out there that are better, but you're looking to better your credit score not keep the card for the long haul. So I advise you to activate it use it to maybe buy a fast food meal or some gas once a month and pay it off on every bill then when your credit gets good enough get a better card and deactivate this one and move on. Remember also when looking for other cards every credit check you're due by applying or a new card is 2 points off of your credit score for 2 years even if approved. The more inquiries you have also hurts your credit worthiness.

All we charged were the monthly utility bills. The first month, I received a late fee. Never received a bill, so I called and they waived the fee. I paid the amount they told me to pay. Next month, I opened an online account, looked at the statement and paid it 2 weeks early. Interest charges continued to accrue. I called, and they said, "You have to find out the balance due by calling, and you cannot just pay the statement amount".

Next month, I called to find out the balance, paid it online, and was still charged interest, because it took them two days to deduct the money from the checking account. We said, CANCEL it. Asked what the balance due was and paid it. Next month, they literally hounded me for an additional interest and late fees after the balance was paid in full and the account was closed. I opened this card almost a year ago to help re-establish my credit. That was the worst mistake I could have made! Every time I try to make a payment, they don't process it. Then they charge a late fee because the payment was never processed. When I called to ask why it wasn't processed they essentially said it was my fault for not having the money in my checking account... Uhm NO IT'S STILL THERE WAITING TO BE PROCESSED! The only way to get your payment to process and paid on time is if you pay the $9.95 "express payment" fee (convenient huh?).

I just spent a while on the phone with them and a supervisor said he would remove the most recent late fee as a nice gesture and made it all sound like he was doing me a favor. I could not get him to understand that I should have never been charged a late fee because I paid my payment on time but THEY chose not to process it. Long story short, I will be closing this account in two weeks (I'm sure with a lot of trouble in doing so) and I advise anyone to stay away from this company. They sound great to those trying to rebuild their credit but in the long run they only hurt your credit when your credit report shows late fees every month.

Stay away from this 'bank.' Do not do business with them. They closed my account because a customer service representative erroneously entered my bank account information into their system when their online bill pay was offline. My account was issued a $9.95 fee for this service. Instead of contacting me to straighten out the issue (they have my e-mail and phone number), they kept trying to run the payment with incorrect payment information. They did this three times. After the third 'returned payment' (none of the three I was aware of) they sent me a letter stating that they were closing my account due to these 'issues.'

I am all for opportunity employment, but every customer service representative I spoke to has used very broken English. It is clear to me there was a language barrier, and that is something that is very risky when your money is at stake. Up until the phone conversation when I tried to make my payment that way, I had NO issues whatsoever with Credit One. I did not miss any payments, nor did I have any issue in using the card. I went from having a pristine record with them, to having my account closed in a 27-day span. I have cards with Capital One and First Premier Bank, and I have had no issues with either of them and still choose to do business with them.

The most puzzling piece to this puzzle is that I have had this account with Credit One since June of 2014 & they have not yet once reported my activity to ANY of the credit bureaus. For a card that is supposed to help rebuild your credit, that is very fishy. I am alerting my primary bank and the credit bureaus of their practices. This screams scam. If you receive an offer from them, do not take it. There are other ways out of whatever situation you find yourself in.

Updated on 07/14/2015: I made my 5th phone call in two weeks to Credit One today. I figured I would give them one last shot to make good on the HORRIBLE experience I've had with them in the last 45 days. I'd been having this ongoing issue with their customer service erroneously trying to process payments with incorrect payment information that they themselves put in. This error happened when making a payment over the phone when their online payment system was down. The result of their trying to put these payments through that were being returned (3 returned payment in 8 days) caused my account to be closed before I even noticed the payment never processed.

Long story short, after 11 days of them saying 'my bank account didn't exist' (yes, you read that right) & me needing to send them a bank validation certificate (whatever the heck that is), the payment I tried making on July 3rd finally posted today, not July 3rd, but July 13th. This after I resorted to writing a check for the same amount and sent it out to them in the mail. So now they're getting paid twice. Anyway, I talked to a pretty competent representative today and she was able to 'reopen my account' & confirm my correct bank account information. I am paying the balance off completely and cutting the card up. I did make mention in a previous review that Credit One has not been reporting to the credit bureaus. That was false - they have reported my activity 1 time since my account was opened with them in 2014.

If you're in a bind and absolutely need a credit card, then accept the offer. But make sure you stay on top of it or you will pay for it dearly with your time, stress and of course your money. I know now that this card is for a last resort when in a worst case scenario. Capital One has been great. First Premier Bank has also upped their game, but dealing with Credit One has been a nightmare no amount of cold water can wake you up from. Morale of the story is still: stay as far away from this circus as humanly possible.

I called the customer service and spoke to a someone named "Peter" who states he does not have a last name or at least a first initial of his last name. I called because I had made an express payment. Truth be said I had no idea the card was closed because of inactivity or less than a year, but I was still making payments. So I made a payment of $109 and $9 was the fee for the express payment. When I checked my online account it was applied with an available credit. So I decided to try and use the card. It didn't work. I called customer service and spoke to "Peter" and asked did the person who took my payment didn't inform me the card was closed because in that case I would have made a regular payment instead making it an express payment with a $9 fee. "Peter" told me it is not their job to let us know that. They only take payments. But I told "Peter" I asked the representative when will the funds be available. He told me the next business day.

So I asked "Peter" if it's not their job to tell us the account was closed, why is it okay for them to lie about the funds being available. Needless to say "Peter" put me on a 15min hold then got back on the phone and said "You need to call back and another customer service representative will help you". I asked for a manager, and he stated "They are all busy, you just need to call back". What a dumb customer service. To top it off they took $509 not $109 so I disputed it thru my bank and got the money and paid my balance of $109. What type of customer service would tell you to call back just so you can talk to someone else because they can't get a manager on the phone? A stupid, idiotic customer service representative who is ignorant and lucky to have a job!!!

I have had a Credit One card for approximately a year and a half. I have had nothing but horrible experiences with this agency. First, I read the fees and fine print, but needed to improve my credit, so I agreed to the extremely high rates and annual fee. However, when I was ASKED if I wanted an increase they stated I would have to pay $25. When I got married, they stated it would be $25 to send out another card, same with address change. I usually pay my account online, which works fine for a few months, then my password is denied and the nightmare with customer service begins. I call to fix my online account and get harassed over paying my bill (which has only been late once and it was due to not being able to get online).

When I tell them how much I want to pay they then try to get me to pay more. When I say no, that I only want to pay that amount and get my online account fixed, they always tell me in extremely broken English, that I should pay more and they can't help me fix my online account. Then, miraculously, my online account works again for a few months, then back to the same frustrating square one again. I have already shredded this card and will hopefully find out who to report these criminals to. Granted I am new to this company, but after my ex husband trashed my credit (I'm NOT paying the bill for his entertainment of other women while we were married!), I was happy to have a second chance. I don't care what your financial situation is, pay your bill in full every month, and as soon as you get it. Don't wait for the due date! If you can't pay it in full each month, then DON'T SPEND THE MONEY! I suspect that the problems people have experienced are of their own making, and probably what sank their credit in the first place.

I have had NO PROBLEMS with Credit One. I appreciate the second chance. I send a check for full balance and even a little more every month and I don't pay interest, or late fees. Get a clue people! It's not the bank's fault that you went over your credit limit, or are late. I DO however agree with the language barrier. I have encountered similar experiences with other companies like Best Buy.. nobody understood what anybody was saying and nothing got resolved over the phone. Consider sending issues in writing to the address on the back of your bill. That preserves your rights and establishes a timeline. Verbal conversations are hard to prove. Bottom line is, if you don't have it, don't spend it. You'll be a lot happier if you control what you can, and leave the 'issues' to those that have them.

I get a call on my cell phone. I DID not answer it seeing I am in a hospital bed hooked up to wires and what not.. So I call back.. It’s these jerks from credit one.. Now I call them back... This rude jerk says “You’re a month late” and it’s going to collections?? They don't do this to people who are a month late... He insisted I make a payment now!!! After I just explained to him I am late due to an accident... He had the nerve to tell me that someone ought to go to the bank and take out their money... ** their money?

What DID he not understand about me being in the hospital for a month and a half? So he kept insisting I get the money now!!! Well in the meantime my lawyer walks in!!! What’s going on... So I put my phone on speaker..so now he is still running his mouth..my lawyer recorded the rest of the conversation... Well guess I will be seeing them in court for harassment... Case is ongoing and in my favor!!! And I won’t be paying them back what I owe as part of the lawsuit... So next time credit one... Tell your reps to be a little more polite and not bully your customers!! There are laws out there to protect against idiots like these people!

Like others, I am trying to rebuild my credit, way too many when I was younger and I spent every last dime on those 14 cards and spent the last 10 years paying them all back. So it's been a while since I've opened any accounts, I kept getting offers in the mail, etc. Finally I received one from Credit One, they are offering me $300 - good enough to start over, or at least I thought. I opened this account back in Feb 2015, they approved me for $1000 (way too much, but I planned on only using it for small purchases and making monthly payments to show I am able). The first purchase I made was 2 months later, at dinner out with friends and it was declined!! I thought to myself, I did activate this one right? So I shrugged it off and waited to call till the next day.

I called in and was told that my account was past due and the balance was $97. I said to the man on the phone "interesting, because I haven't used it since I activated it over 2 months ago!" After calmly arguing back and forth for a few minutes he finally said they would "waive" this fee of past due, etc, etc. I thought to myself, I should just close it now because if this is how I'll be treated I don't want any part of it. Boy should I have listened to that inner voice of reason! It's now June and I have been charged almost $200 in open ended fees that I'm not really sure are "real." I have made countless phone calls to straighten this out but I am never reassured when I hang up the phone. I will tell you this: lesson learned - next time I want to apply for a credit card, I will read reviews FIRST!!!! Would have saved me on this one!!!

I have had my card exactly a year, applied back in June 2014 and sent the card with a credit limit of $300. It was the first card I had in a long time (I have nothing really bad on my credit. No bankruptcy, no loans in default, nothing). I paid my bill early every single month and sometimes more than I needed to. 6 months came along and they gave me a $100.00 increase up to $400. I called and was assured that a big increase would happen at 1 year as long as I continued to make my payments early, etc. I did so and here I am at a year.

I went and requested an increase and got a notice online saying that I don't qualify because somehow my credit score isn't high enough for a credit limit increase even though my limit just got doubled with my Victoria's Secret card. I am calling BS on this one! I am so mad right now. I was told something and they don't follow through. I would like the increase to be able to buy larger things and pay them off over a few months’ time. Thanks a lot Credit One.

This card has an extremely high APR and annual fee. The thing is though it is not meant to be a top notch Credit Card. This help rebuild credit and after my bankruptcy 2 years ago it has been very helpful. Guess what the trick is? Pay the card off monthly. You should with any card. I see so many complaints on here that I felt compelled to right a good review. If this is the only card you can get, other than a secured card, there is a highly good chance your credit sucks. This company is making money for sure off the noncredit worthy people, but all for profit businesses are there to make money off of you. At least this one helps rebuild credit just like they advertise. If you have bad credit and can make the monthly payment, I would get this card if I were you.

Our experience with Credit One had been excellent prior to the incident; excellent repayment history. We made a 50$ mistake by going up above the credit limit purely by accident. As a result, they granted the transaction above the limit, but then sent derogatory information to my credit reporting agency. I was furious -- We are good customers, and if they declined the transaction like they were supposed to we wouldn't have our credit report dinged. We realize that our overage was our fault, but they let it happen too following up with a credit ding to last for years. Credit One reverse our score ding!!

Still no card. I call back & they sent to same wrong address again. Then I get letter at correct address advising me I hadn't activated my card which I never received!! 3rd attempt supposed to be rushed 3-5 day. 10 days later still no card. I call today cause I received a letter yesterday (at correct address) advising me they have been trying to call me. NOTTTT!! Only to say I should receive it in another 7-10 days. I'm beyond pissed and their customer service is THE WORST!!!

Honestly, the worst company & customer service. No one speaks English well enough to fully understand what they're saying. They hassle you for payment multiple times before your payment is even due. There is no way to pay with a debit card without getting charged almost $10. They even had the nerve to call me after I made my payment to set up the next payment, which was 30 days away! I'll call you when the payment is due!!!! I can't wait to pay it off so I can chop this credit card up in to pieces!!!!!

Most of these complaints are whining about the fees Credit One is charging. I thoroughly and carefully read over the first letter I received from them and the fees that they would charge me were clearly stated. I did not like most of the fees, but when everyone else is denying you, you can't be picky. I knew before I accepted their offer exactly what every fee would be and that this company was Credit One and not Capital One. I had no trouble activating the card or making my first payment.

Capital One keeps sending me offers, but when I call they continue to deny me. For someone who could not even get an secured card due to bad credit, I was astonished that this offer was for real. It did take a long time for the card to get to me, about 3 weeks, but I was just happy to have a chance to rebuild my credit. I have made one payment so far with no issues but have not had to deal with customer service, which also was a big complaint, since I have only had the card for a month. Thank you ** for your good reviews. People... just read over the offer completely, pay your bill on time and you won't have these problems.

This credit card preys on people with less than good credit, which is what I was getting out of college. Look forward to $8/month fee, $10 fee to make a payment, $25 late fee, $25 fee to replace a lost or stolen or overused card. Most want to get you a credit card easy and fast so you can start using it again… Never heard of a bank charging to give you new card. Likely people in a position to use this bank aren't scouring the net looking for reviews, but hopefully someone comes across this and decides that it just isn't worth it.

Credit One Bank is like some other banks for people with no good credit. Since I was unfortunate to lose my good credit I applied after I received offer in the mail. I was approved. I KNEW WHAT WAS GETTING INTO HIGH INTEREST, LOT OF FEES. But when you have BAD CREDIT you gotta pay for that. No one is forced to open account. Since I have the card (3 years now) I never have any problem. I pay my bill online in 20 seconds. They always debit my checking account next day. All good. It's true they increase your credit limit for fee but again you don't have to. It is your choice, nothing obligatory.

I received my card in January. No annual fee. Minimum payment of 25$ monthly. I have been making 50$ payments consecutively and my account balance has not gone down not only that they have been charging me a late fee of 25$ when I've already made my payment. The payment date is 18. I have been making my payments on the 10th so how are they charging a late fee? Not only that my credit limit has not gone past 25$ and I have been making my payments on time and I've not purchased anything with the card since May... I'm not purchasing anything with this card. I will continue to make 50$ payments until it's at 0 and then I will cancel my account with this fraudulent bank...

They have awful customer service, can't even understand what they are saying! I paid in a balance, and asked for the account to be closed, and they never did. I magically got a charge for 27 dollars, which infuriated me because their fees are ridiculous, as well as their "same day payment" option! I clearly asked them to cancel. Also there's no email anywhere so you can't even document anything! Never again! If anyone needs to build, or rebuild credit scores, there are better options!

They didn't want to close account and had tell them three times to close. Finally said account was now closed. A month later got collections call from them. Told the account was closed previous month. The lady, hardly speaking English, she would close account after asking to speak with manager 4 times. Two weeks later received a notice from my credit score review they closed the account but charged $66.24 for late payment and fees for previous month.

I would never recommend this to anyone. I always pay them 2 weeks in advance, then the following month they sent my bill and they still charge me with a late pay. Then I go online to pay my bills, they won't let me sign in. So I paid off my whole balance, again I pay them two weeks advance, I was so happy I finally paid them off, then again they still send a bill that I owe them. I didn't even use my card for 1 year, and all I do is keep paying them, and if you try to call them you always on hold. This is a bad credit card, bad experience, bad customers service - it's a big SCAM.

I signed up for a $1,000 credit card. They charged $75 yearly fee to start, long before I even got my card. After I got my card I bought some things and got a statement in the mail as expected. When I signed online to pay, it said Past Due Alert. Apparently there was a payment period after the $75 yearly fee had been charged, which I never got a mailed statement for. So I was charged a $25 fee.

Add to that, payment on an account that is past due is charged $9.50 for what they call express payment. I asked if it's possible to make a payment without paying the $9.50, and they said no. I asked about setting up auto pay while on the phone. And the nice lady on the other end informed me that they do not have auto pay because it might cause my bank account to overdraft. In other words they make it more difficult for me to make payments as a way of helping me! Crazy. Should be illegal what they're doing.

My husband, whom has never had a credit card, unknown to me, signed up for a Credit One Card. Then we get bill for $75, then he says it is an annual fee that says minimum payment $25, and god forbid you are a day late on the $25 payment, because $75 annual fee goes to well over $100, and then even when you cancel said card with the understanding that the card has in fact "been cancelled" and "zero balance", as well as, zero fees accruing.

3-months later he gets umpteen calls a day and a bill for nearly $200. Then the lady on the phone today says she can "cancel it" (wait it was already cancelled back in March), she says she can stop the phone calls, and stop the credit bureau reports, which by the way are now ruining my husband's credit that he has never had in the first place. She says she can clear it up if we sent her $120. She wanted us to pay it over the phone! WTF is anyone doing about this company. I am down with a CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT! Let me know where we need to sign.

It is nearly impossible to avoid paying interest charges because interest charges begin the day of your purchase or cash advance. You cannot pay online ahead of your statement and you cannot pay online to have a credit balance. Basically, Credit One credit cards charges interest immediately after a purchase or cash advance. The word "Credit" in Credit One should be changed to "Loan Shark" One Card. Since I cannot make advance payments online, I made an advance payment using Bill Pay with online banking. I have yet to see what happens if I do that.
