Credit One Customers off their Web Site and charging Phone Pay! The Customer Services Listed on the Website states WEB Problems Call a Number Listed There. When the WEB Problems Number is Called the Phone Call Employees read a Scripted Message that includes Excuses such as: "Our Web is Site is Down and Will Be Repaired in a Day or two", and the Following Week, they say: "It must be Your Browser", and other Excuses until they say: "We can Process Your Payment for a fee of nine dollars"; which is the Credit One Bank's intention in the first place.

This is one of the worst bank I've ever experienced! On August 3rd I requested a refund check from Credit One that was deposited into my account for a substantial amount of money. It is now September 2nd and I haven't yet received the check. Customer Service gave me 3 different dates, when I asked to cancel check and direct deposit into my checking account - they mentioned an additional 7-10 days before money become available! This financial institution need to be barred - bad enough when I first applied they gave a false advertisement being part of Capital One. What a disgrace!
Updated on 9/23/2016: I called approximately 50 times about my refund check. They continually gave me different date. Last week or so they are now telling me the check was returned back to the third party. Such liars and they are still asking for payment. What should I do???

Credit One has been charging my daughter a monthly service fee and late fee for an account I paid off over a year ago. They are now charging her fees for not using the card. When calling customer service they do not specify that a monthly charge is due on not using the card. As a young college student she is out a bunch of money.

Don't get this card for any reason. It's too many people on here that I see saying that Credit One Bank is a good credit card to have to rebuild your credit or to start credit, it's all lies. They are full of it. By far the worst credit card I have ever had. Please stay away. They are very unfair and their fees are ridiculous.

Credit card service won't allow me to pay online as I have and it works. Accepts payment from my bank that weeks later card service says no it didn't work so late fees, every computer I use say it received payment. But no says Credit One bank. And now I call in payment with charge of $9.00 to make payment. So tired of it. Late fees. Plus fee to take payment.

I just received my card and thought that I was getting a Capital One card. It is very slick the way they market this offer. I received a pre-approval and It appeared to look like I was getting a Capital One Platinum card, So I would say this is a form of false advertisement. Maybe it was my fault that I should have looked more carefully before I applied. I called and got my card cancelled, and also asked for a confirmation number (very important). If for some reason they send me a bill, I have the confirmation number as a back-up. I have learned my lesson to look before I leap, I already have a Capital One card and I'm fine with them.

If I wasn't trying to fix my credit I would have never opened this card. Credit One approved a credit line of 400.00 dollars for which I didn't feel one way or another about then a few months later they increased it to 550. I honestly don't know how this card is helping my credit. At this point I've paid the balance in full and yes I did have to pay a annual fee of about $75.00 dollars or 95.00 I can't remember but I wasn't happy about it either but as I said I am trying to rebuild my credit so I just decided to deal with it. I've been using this card for a year now and have repaid the full balance (proud of me) but as far as helping my credit, I not too happy about that. I check my Experian account once month and don't see a huge increase in my score.
One month I tried to make over three payments and the website asked me to do a security check? That was annoying and the customer service people have very heavy middle eastern accents that are also very annoying. How about employing Americans! Who live in america. I have two other cards, Capital One and Barclays. These are way BETTER, credit limits are much higher and credit limit increases are more significant and frequent. I want to cancel this stupid card but my credit advisor told me that closing a card is bad for your credit. Only thing bad about this card is that I will not use it but I will most likely still be charged for the annual fee anyway.

I tried to explain that "the new card is just not working and I will not be in the store embarrass. Can you please tell me what's going on." NO HELP. It's been 1 month and still I haven't been able to activate this card. They asked for more information to make sure I'm how I said I'm and still a problem. I have had my Credit One Credit Card for less than 4 months, have made all my payments on time, and they have tried each month to add a $25 late charge onto my account and charged me right off the bat $75 annual fee. When I call customer service, none of the reps seem to speak English and are extremely rude. I feel this company is a scam. I will be reporting to Better Business Bureau.

Like many others in stories and online tales I have read, I didn't take my credit seriously. I learned late in life that it's very important to have good credit. Recently after some hard work in bringing my score to a half decent level, I gathered up the courage to apply for a credit card. Never had one before and I'm in my mid-30's. Credit One immediately approved me for $500 and stated it was pending investigation before being sent my card. Feeling lucky I applied for a Chase card as well. What do you know, $5000 limit! I was on vacation for a week when I applied for both.
When I returned home I found my Chase Sapphire Preferred card already arrived. There was a letter from Credit One asking for copies of my DL, SS Card and Pay Stubs or W2. For a $500 card??? Letter also stated if I don't respond they will consider the offer declined. I will call them to make sure because I read reviews where some were charged fees anyway, but we shall see. Just to see, I applied for a USAA Amex Card and was approved immediately for $3000. Granted I am a USAA member for over 15 years now and have two auto loans with them that are never late.
I won't be accepting the Credit One card. Obviously. They seem a little shady to me after reading reviews and seeing how easily I got two much better cards. Don't settle for Credit One. I'm sure if you really need to use them they may help a little but you will be buying your credit with them. Be patient if you can and try a secured card from your bank or credit union. Maybe even Capital One Secured if necessary.

I called them and advised them I gave them my ssn. Why do they need it and they said it's part of them verifying. That makes no sense to me and the company is based out of the Philippines as I asked them, but they asked me to mail a copy of my social security card to their location in NV, don't think so. Forget it! I believe it's a complete scam. No cc company has asked me to mail them a copy of my social security card.

This credit card company is a SCAM. First, I was automatically charged the $75 annual fee, which turned out to be the least of my problems. I used the card a handful of times. Making sure it never got over $150. I never received a statement, email, or phone call stating when my payment was due. I then called to have this set up and was told that my balance was $239 out of a possible $300 and that I needed to make a payment THAT DAY or I could wait until September 4th and make a $50 payment. I told them I would possibly be able to when my husband got home.
It turns out I wasn't able to because my husband and I are moving due to issues with our current home. They have since called me 2 times saying I needed to make a payment immediately and that I am not allowed to wait until September 4th. I keep being told different things by different people and I am treated horribly every time I call. I plan on paying off this card as soon as possible and then canceling it. What a waste of money and a scam.

I spoke to them and tried to cancel card then they reduced fee as $20-30 and committed for that year only. Again this year they have charged $99 as annual fee. I have made my payments on time with Credit One every month for almost a year. I have been rebuilding my credit. This month Aug. I made additional payments to lower my balance. When my statement was available I reviewed it and was going to pay the monthly payment and a little extra. Apparently I have already exceeded the amount of payments for the month and they would not allow me to make my payment of 28.00. I asked "so if I cannot make another payment until next month I will go past my due date, will you all charge me a late fee?" The answer was yes. I have not heard of such business practices in my life. It's all about how they can hook you and prey on those who are trying to rebuild their credit. The card has helped me. However their business practices suck. I will cancel this card ASAP. I have fixed my score good enough to get a reputable company.

I keep receiving pre-approval letters in the mail from Credit One Bank. First thing that is highly suspicious is that they attempt to make their logo look like a more reputable company, Capital One. If I hadn't carefully looked it over, I might have mistaken them for Capital One. When I opened the letter I saw all the outrageous fees, interest rates, etc. that accompany this card. Another red flag for scam artists is their web address. It is a series of random letters and numbers, rather than a domain under their company name... fishy. On top of that, when you go to their website the very first thing they ask you for is your social security number. There are no other pages or options. That seems like a trap to steal and sell people's identities. Overall, everything seems very suspicious. I've never applied for their card, but I continuously receive these letters.
I attempted to call to ask them to stop sending pre-approval letters and customer service was absolutely no help. They immediately asked for account information, and after I told them I don't have an account the rep asked for my SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER. I was baffled. I tried to explain again that I didn't have a card and would simply like to stop receiving mail offers from them. The rep still asked AGAIN for my social security number. I don't know if she misunderstood me because of a language barrier (she had a thick accent). No one needs my social to take me off their mailing list. I don't have a good feeling about this company at all.
After a failed attempt over the phone, I tried to find any way to stop mail on their website, but like I mentioned before there is only one page that asks for your social security number and pre-approval number. Upon reading other reviews on ConsumerAffairs, I'm happy I trusted my intuition and skipped this company. I have my first credit card ever with the real Capital One Bank and they charge none of those outlandish fees and at least I know I can trust them. If you're considering Credit One, don't do it. Apply for a Capital One platinum secured card, they will help build/rebuild your credit without having to worry about fraud or identity theft.

For people with bad credit, who are rebuilding it... we can't be choosy about cards. I have never had any issues at all with my Credit One card, and it has done wonders to help me rebuild my credit. None of the fees have been surprises... it is all spelled out in the paperwork that people never read. It is in print in many places. But there is a reason many people have bad credit, they never read... and they don't make payments on time. That isn't an issue with the bank, but the people who are reviewing badly over their mistakes.

MY first CC ever was with Credit One bank. I've had this card for exactly 10 years now and It's just okay. The interest rates are a little high, but I only use it for gasoline and pay off the balance every month. I started out with a $500 credit limit at 18 years old and now at 28 years old I have a $16075 limit. My only complaint about these guys are the fees. Fees are charged for nearly everything! Need a new card? Fee. Need a new PIN mailed? Fee. Want a credit line increase? Fee. Want your payment to post in 2 days? Fee. Other than the fees, I guess Credit One is alright.

I got the Credit One Credit Card a few months ago. Trying to establish my credit, a merchant that I had made a purchase from them using the Credit One card, decides to charge an extra amount of money other than what I had signed and agreed to pay (they sent me an e-mail letting me know about the future charge. I called them and told them I did not agree with it and I would not authorize it). But just to make sure they didn't charge my card I called Credit One to let them know that I never authorized a larger amount from what the merchant was trying to charge me, and I asked them not to let that charge go through, (the merchant had my card information) and Credit One decides to tell me that they are going to let the charge go through, that they don't have the option to stop it, and that I should send a letter explaining why I don't agree with the future charge.
I told them that's why I was calling them, to let them know why, but they insisted that I should write a letter, send it via regular mail. I asked for their email address to make it faster. They don't have that option either. I told them I was their client, not the merchant, and yet they decided to help the merchant not me. So since I didn't owe Credit One, because I had paid my balance in full a week before this, I told them to go ahead and cancel my account. They said, ok. After a few minutes they said it's been cancel. I asked them again, "do I owe you any money?" They said "NO, your balance is ZERO." So I asked again, "is my account closed, cancel?" They said YES. But a few days later they send me a new card by mail. So I called them and asked them why did they send me a new card. They said, they apologize but it was their representative's fault that she never cancel my account. Se just cancel my card but they generated a new one.
In the meantime, they went ahead and paid the merchant that I told them I didn't authorize any future payments, and if I want to cancel that card I have to authorize them to cancel that card. Now they say that I owe them, which of course I DO NOT. There is a recorded conversation about it, so I am going to use it against them, because I canceled my account when it had a zero balance. They said it was canceled. It is not my fault they made a mistake, and they better not mess with my credit.

This is the last straw with this bank. Yes, I should have read the reviews. I know. I have had this bank as my credit card since my divorce and ending in bankruptcy. I got the card because I wanted to rebuild my credit and this was easy to get. I have always charged and paid off. I ran into some difficulty financially recently and used the card and was not able to pay it off right away. Now the story...
In June my account was hacked. A payment was made in the tune of $900 and expressed paid so a $9.95 charge, then they proceeded to charge a small amount at a 7-Eleven, then a larger one and then an even larger one all in Florida. I went to use my card and it was declined, that is how I found out. Called the bank and spoke to someone I could barely understand (as always). Took them three weeks to address the issue and several more phone calls. In the meantime they keep calling me because my account was over the limit.
I finally get that straightened out and lo and behold it is still over because of the $9.95 fee. And of course a new account was created with the over the limit amount. Called to get that straightened out. By this point it shows in my credit report that I was over the limit with this bank. Thursday I go to make a payment as I refused to make one until they took the $9.95 payment (my payment was not due until the 12th). Lo and behold I press the make a payment button and the site is "under construction". I tried 3 more times that day to process a payment and it was still under construction. What other bank does this during the day?
Friday I attempt to make a payment which is the 12th and it lets me. I choose what account I want it to come out of and I get a confirmation number. I refused to call because they charge you a huge fee to make payment over the phone. That same day I keep getting calls from Credit One but I ignore. I was woken up today by a call from them and I decide to answer. They want a payment. I tell them I made one yesterday. They say it is not showing. I go on the website and look and it is not there. I proceed to explain how the site was not working Thursday but it was Friday and allowed me to process payment. I attempt to make another payment (just to see) and the drop down for account to come out of shows blank. My checking or savings info is not there. I tell the guy I will make a payment over the phone and he better not charge me and to also take the late fee off they just added on there. He stated he would.
I made the rep get a manager that spoke good English first. I then told him I have had nothing but trouble lately with this bank and that I will pay my account off and will never use it again. I have even cut my cards up. My credit report will probably show I was late at this point. I have never been late. I want to close the account but I know that lowers your score. One pissed off customer. I never have trouble with Capital One.
Updated on 09/07/2016: Just had one card hacked in July. Now my second smaller amount one was hacked. After my first experience, I cut my cards up because the customer service and their delay in taking care of the problem was a horrible experience. Someone once again made a payment of my balance amount to a tee and with the express charge of $9.95. I had set the account up to alert me of any payment or charge. I was alerted by email on the payment. I immediately called to explain that I did not make the payment.
First of all, I could not understand the person but I managed to get my problem across. He was going to close this account and open a new one and stated he would send my new card in the mail. I told him I did not want a new card. I will never use it and once they are paid off I may just close it even if my credit is affected. He stated they could not do that, they have to send the card. I asked to speak to his supervisor. He left me on hold for a brief time and came back to tell me his supervisor was busy. I then asked if he was Indian and he said yes that is where the call center is based.
I think someone in the company is stealing the card info, just my opinion. They know the balance to the tee and then proceed to make a payment that is no good and then charge on the account. Once that is all said and done the payment is no good and I get a letter stating the payment "I" made was not good. The customer service rep was rude and condescending. I will never ever deal with them if they are the last credit card company on this earth!!!

The second, I thought I paid the full amount, I clicked pay full balance, only to receive a late fee and the bill stated I was off by 17 cents. So one of the reasons I was offered a pre-approval from Credit One today is of course, because of my low fico, yet slowly climbing back to the 600 mark. So basically, I received my pre-approval, opened it up and checked it out. I was like OK, pre-approval. Let's see what it's about. I go to look for the web address to log-in and enroll and that's when it hit me... This isn't Capital One... I went to the website www.KzB4Ln.com which immediately grabbed my attention. This seemed pretty scam official based on that web domain. Once I actually started looking to log in is when I noticed the company font and logo are flat out pushing the lines of fraud and identity theft of Capital one. I'm no copyright lawyer, but if I were Capital One, I'd be pissed off on how these guys are infringing upon their logo. I basically opened this pre-approval because I thought it was CapOne, who I liked when I was a customer 4 years ago.
I'm all for free trade, but these guys are fake, phony, corporate low-life. Moving on, before I enrolled for the pre-approval because the website was nothing more than a single page, flat out asking for your social security number, which was another fraud alarm going off in my head. I don't know who these guys are from Adam, and they want my social straight out the gate... This could be a website from Russia or something phishing for info for all I know. So held off and did some digging. Saw hundreds of reviews all saying this company is horrible. Customer service is horrible and lousy and based overseas.
I called customer service and simply asked her where they are located and she told me the Philippines for crying out loud. No offense to them, but any respectable company that's in the business of handling your money and your credit, needs to recognize the necessity to have local/Stateside customer service, like bank of America, or Wells Fargo or something. Bottom line... I got this in the mail. Was excited at first. Did some reading, did some research, and concluded that this company isn't the route to me building my credit.
I deposited $300 into a secure credit with a reputable bank (large bank) that has the same interest rate as this card. I'm getting the same results and incremental fico score increases periodically, as this one would claim to do but without the BS that comes with this card. I haven't had a need for credit in some time, and am pleased with the card I'm currently using, and customer service with any of the large banks we all know is pretty good, even on a bad day, compared to the crap these people in Henderson, nv are trying to pull. Their stock is only at $2 a share anyway... What kind of bank is that!!?? It's a penny stock. RIMM has better market cap value than these clowns.

I signed up for an account JUST to post this warning. I have had a Credit One credit card for about a year and regretted it very early on. Their fees are insane and minimum payments never seem to go towards principal like they do on another card I have with a different company. This is a terrible card in my opinion for rebuilding credit as it seems to put you only further in debt.
But the WORST part about doing business with them is the unauthorized payment they deducted from my bank account last week. They charged my debit card $709.95 out of the blue, putting my bank account severely overdrawn. To be clear, I do not have automatic payments set up, the charge was not the balance, and I did not authorize a charge for a different amount.
I called them up in a complete panic. Customer service is the worst. At first they told me that they didn't charge anything, then when I said they absolutely did they tried to tell me I authorized it. It was hard for me to remain calm. Eventually they agreed to return the charge but that it would take 7-10 days to process. Unbelievable.
I called my bank and filed a claim so that I'll be refunded bank fees. I also canceled my debit card so that Credit One can't do this to me again. I still don't have an explanation for the charge! They are the absolute worst. I have a credit card with another company of a similar sounding name and they are a MUCH better company and card. Beware of Credit One and avoid at all costs!!

I hate Credit One Bank for the mere reason that they constantly are charging fees, and then if you forget to pay the fees and make a late payment, then they charge a late fee on top of that. Plus, the interest rate is outrageous. Use another credit card issuer if you can. Credit One Bank is not worth the hassle.

We had zero balance on our card and one day noted it had a $500 charge at Ulta in another state. Went to retrieve the card to call them and could not find the card so we immediately called and informed them of our lost/stolen card and the fraudulent charge. They told us that they would send a new card but it takes 30-60 days to "research". THIRTY TO SIXTY days. That is not exception. We are beginning a home refinance process and this charge is showing up. We had had fraud before on our cards with Chase and BOA and they immediately removed the fraudulent charge and did what they had to do on their end, making us not responsible. Not these idiots. Now, they expect us to pay this charge, and you can bet when we don't pay the card, they will report it late on our credit report which is not a good thing right now. How can they even legally do this?
Just beware that no matter who steals or uses your card or for how much, they expect you to pay it. Such a ripoff. You call them and all you get is people who barely speak English and basically read off a cue card "I am sorry Ms. for your inconvenience. Please be advised that we are doing the best we can." Blah, blah. 30-60 days to research. Closed the account, and if this charge is not removed, we will get an attorney. It is pretty bad when youre not only victimized by the person who stole your card but then youre victimized a second time by your credit card company. They need to change their policies or their company will go down the tubes quickly.

They wanted a letter from a notary in the new acc #. I told them no, because they had been getting my payments with no problems since Dec. So I asked them to unlock my online account so I could see what has been happening with it. For 3 months they told me the same story and that yes, they will unlock my online account. I told them to run up a flag pole and stuff themselves. I paid them off, and yet they still wanted a letter and in the meantime taking my auto payments w/o notifying me that my account was paid in full.
They, like other companies, have a call center in India. If anyone knows the frustration of trying to explain to foreigners anything, it sucks. There is no other numbers to call, and the supervisors are just as bad as the call taker. Had one person tell me "too bad, I did the deed". If I was in that call center I'd wring his neck! So don't believe those reviews on their sites, otherwise you're in for some problems.

I'm a 31 year old man who is trying to build my credit back up. I'm totally blind and I'm not able to see. I use a text to speech reading program to help me in reading the reviews that are posted. I found out about Credit One Bank through doing some research. When I had successfully made my first payment to them, I found an additional $4.00 balance after I paid off my full balance of $299.00. Every time I call them, I don't get any representatives from America. They are all from India or somewhere else overseas. I can't understand a word they are saying. I have called them back in July of this year 4 times and asked if my account could be closed because I don't like the way they do business. I also tried to attempt to close down my account this month. And they refuse to do it. I'm writing this review to say to anyone who is trying to build their credit, I would strongly suggest that you don't go with this bank.
Updated on 06/15/2017: I know that I've posted a review on Credit One bank. I got a call from them awhile back saying that my account that was closed was going to be charged a fee. I don't know why since I closed it. The person was nice. I still don't feel comfortable with doing business with them. They had ripped me off. I'm totally blind and unable to see. I get social security disability for my income. I'm actively looking for a job. I haven't been able to find a reputable credit card company. I don't recommend credit one bank to anyone who is looking to rebuild their credit. Because you can hardly understand them. I'm looking for a reputable credit card company. My mom is my conservator. Are there any good credit companies that are out there to help those people who have poor to bad credit?

I have had a Credit One card for approximately a year, but this year I added my husband to my account because he is on the road a lot as a contractor and I felt safer that he had a credit card for emergencies. However this isn't the card to give to anyone for emergencies! I paid off my balance of 635.00 on July 29th at 4 in the afternoon and even paid an extra 10.00 dollars for their "express" payment service. However when my husband tried to buy gas the card came up denied! You can imagine my panic at this point... husband on the road, stranded, no money!
I called Credit One, only to speak with two individuals in INDIA, telling me that since I used my bank account to make my payment (really, how else am I supposed to make a payment, carrier pigeon?), that my funds wouldn't be available for at least a week! And this is EXPRESS payment! They assured me that by midnight, they would generously give me 100.00 and the rest of my funds would be available in 5-7 days. Again this is EXPRESS payment that I paid an additional 10.00 for!! I am cancelling this card, and even though my credit will take a hit for cancelling a card, I would rather do that than put up with the crappy customer service and the **, the company gives to its customers!

I've read through some of these reviews. Unlike most people here, my review is very positive because I know how to read and I know my credit score was poor. For them to even approve me... or most people complaining here is a big step towards rebuilding credit without getting a secured card. Did I know about the $75 fee? Yes, it's in print. Did I know about the service fees? Yes, it's in print. If you use their card modestly, pay off the balance and wait, you will be rewarded. First, by a higher credit limit, then after a while, being able to be approved for regular credit cards with no fees and lower interest. But yeah, if you can't read and can't make payments on time, I guess they're horrible.

I got this credit card to rebuild my credit. It has worked and I no longer need to use a card with a yearly fee. I paid my card in full and called the company and asked them to cancel my card. They said they did. I received a call today telling me that my payment of $52 was past due. I am not sure how I owe $52 when I paid my balance in full 2 months ago and my card was cancelled. I was told that it was interest charges. Lol how am I getting interest charges on a ZERO balance? The bill collector or customer service person or whoever it was, was ridiculous. I was trying to ask where the balance had come from and all she kept saying was 'how will you be taking care of this today?' I could not understand a word she was saying. English was obviously not her first language which is okay but I am pretty sure the only thing she did know how to say was 'how will you be taking care of this today'.
I logged in online and it said that my account was still active. I still don't know where the $52 was but I paid it and I called them back and told them that I was going to sit on the phone with them until it was confirmed that my account was cancelled. I am certain that if I could understand their customer service representatives that I would probably know what the charges were from. I was so frustrated and annoyed that I just hung up on her. Why is it showing that the calls are coming from North Carolina when clearly they are not?
I would love to come work for your company collecting your late payments. I will happily do collections in Mexico. I am as qualified to collect from your Spanish Speaking customers. I had about 5 minutes of Spanish in high school. I can fluently speak two sentences. Shut the door and excuse me, I just farted. I will never understand why companies that are operating in the US are hiring people from other countries to do their collections. Not only does it take jobs away from American citizens but it also makes absolutely no sense.

Within a couple of months, there were two charges on there (one for Domino's for over $100 and another one, also in excess of $100, that I simply did not charge to my account). The Domino's charge occurred in California, and the other one which seemed to be for some kind of supplement appeared to come from the northeast somewhere. I live in Laramie, Wyoming and CERTAINLY did not charge $110 for a Domino's in California (a state I have never visited). They are really dragging their feet to get these items off of my bill. Today, I checked my checking account statement only to find that Credit One sent an electronic payment request to my bank in the amount of $629.00. I immediately called my bank and advised them of the issue and since the actual check could not be viewed by either the bank or myself they very politely issued me a credit.
I also called Credit One asking they provide me proof that a $629.00 check was made out to them. A woman named "Chloe" advised that they destroyed my check and that she would look into it. After being placed on hold for 22 minutes, Chloe tells me that she looked into it and a credit will be issued after 30 days. On July 27, 2016, I had a very unfortunate and dire circumstance to occur to me while out of town, three hours away. I had the Credit One Card to pay for my out of town travel expenses. I chose it over Capital One because I had paid off the balance of 792.00. However, once I got to the hotel and it was not approved for lodging, I called their customer service number and got someone who did not speak very good English and was not helpful in addressing my concern about overriding the system to accommodate my charges to hotel since balance was paid in full. I even spoke with a supervisor who spoke with my bank.
The banker verified that amount had been deducted from my account and that it would be processed tonight in their system. He said that he could not accommodate my dilemma by releasing funds to pay for my lodging until 4 to 5 days had elapsed to verify it in their system. I made him aware I was stranded and homeless and if he could please make an emergency one time accommodation so that I would not have to travel 3 hours back to my place. He apologized and said no he could not! I made him aware that I have always paid on time and paid more than the minimum too and had received increased credit lines because of this. He thanked me for this good creditworthiness but said there was nothing he could do to help me. So, the hotel did not want me to be homeless for the night and said they would take cash in this situation.
I was not homeless because of the Marriott's high standard on customer service and that is why I shall stay a loyal member and customer after 20 years! In regards to Credit One, I shall close my account and tear up their card immediately due to the fact that this card won't serve me a useful purpose ever again! If their customer service agent and supervisor were unwilling to save me from my dire circumstance after paying in full and having funds verified with my bank, then I do not ever want a card that does not provide exceptions and support and care to someone who had an oversight and not provide a truly considerate option, even for one time!
Also, I do not like giving my money to a company that could care less about whether I am safe or homeless! Only about their system accepting funds for payment that have already been verified as deducted for payment to them by a reputable bank, Wells Fargo! Cut up this card if you have paid your balance and give a bad review if you have had a bad experience of any kind, which I know you have since there are so many of them on this site! Good riddance to this company and card officially at the end of this month!

For those of you who have received a Credit One Bank pre-approved application in the mail but have not yet responded to it, READ THIS REVIEW. The vast majority of people who have posted negative reviews about Credit One Bank cards simply did not read their cardholder agreements. They got caught up in late fees or whatnot and are now calling this bank "a bunch of shady crooks." Granted, I'm sure their customer service does suck if they're outsourcing to employees who speak poor English. I dread the day I have to call these guys to close my account (which I intend to do, as these types of credit cards are meant simply to rebuild credit and are probably of little benefit to keep long-term due to monthly service fees that arise after your first year).
That said, here is my personal experience. I was reluctant to apply for one of these cards but I had been without a credit card for a good 6 years and felt it was a good time to start reestablishing my credit. I read the Credit One Bank pre-approved application before submitting it as well as my cardholder agreement, twice. I knew there was an annual fee so the $75 balance was of no surprise to me when I immediately activated an online profile in order to access my account 24/7 from home, work or anywhere else I can access the internet.
I was never late on payments. I figured out quickly (as many other apparently haven't) that you can make online payments for free so long as you use their standard billing option which can take up to 3-4 days to post. I made payments at least 10 days before they were due to avoid any slip-ups. If you are responsible enough to read your cardholder agreement, understand it and make payments in a timely manner, you should have no problems maintaining this card and rebuilding your credit.
Within 4 months of opening my Credit One Bank credit account, I received a pre-approved offer from Capital One, which I immediately jumped on. I was approved by Capital One in minutes and now I have 2 credit cards in good standing. I do intend to close the Credit One Bank account before I hit my first year mark as by then it will have more than served its purpose to continue to increase my credit score.
As the few others on here who left positive reviews for Credit One Bank said before, this particular type of credit card is aimed at those with poor credit scores. Of course there will be some negatives and hoops to jump through such as recurring annual fees that increase after one year and get broken up into monthly service charges from that point on, high APR, and a great deal of strictness on late payments. These types of banks take risks offering credit lines to people with bad credit. That's just the nature of the beast. This is comparable to how high-risk auto insurance policies work for those who have questionable driving records.
Lastly, for those individuals who got "confused" and thought they were applying for a Capital One credit card, I really don't know what to tell you. I mean I can't walk into a Taco Bell thinking it was a Del Taco, order food and then later complain that it's not Taco Bell. The mistake of confusing Credit One Bank for Capital One falls on those of you who made the mistake to begin with. Sorry.

I applied for and got this card after 6 years with no credit cards due to Bk and such. I was VERY excited to have a new card and was keeping it for emergencies ONLY! I applied in EARLY May 2016 and the card took 5-6 weeks to come! I received it, but did not activate the card as I planned to not use it until an emergency and I did intend to activate, I just simply forgot to. July 17 comes around and I call to activate and there is ZERO prompt to do so. I press ZERO and get the account handler within seconds. The call was recorded I think because it was acting strange and echoing and really bizarre. I had a bad feeling. The gentleman told me that my card had been closed due to inactivity! I JUST GOT IT like 3-4 weeks ago max. So the man told me he would have to reopen it. I laughed. He said its the same card number and I'm good to go.
So, NEXT, I hang up and go to the site to make my account online so I dont mess this up ever and if I ever have to use it, I know how much etc, and payment dates. GUESS WHAT? I find a past due of 1.29, a 75.00 annual FEE??? WTH, and a credit for it, and a late fee 2 days ago of 25.00 PLUS a credit for the 25.00 and annual interest of 1.29!!! So, after I did not use it, I guess they reversed EVERYTHING EXCEPT the interest and closed it, then when I reopened it, it showed me all the wonderful goodies I had to look forward to! UNBELIEVABLE! I do give them credit for trying to delete my fees thinking I don't want my card but no calls to remind me or ask me if i'm going to keep it or nothing!
SO I CALL BACK, seconds later. I get MR RUDE, and the accents is so thick I can barely understand him and he doesn't understand english because I ask a simple question and he cannot answer me. First of all he told me that its a ZERO balance and I just can't see it. Interesting! HMMM... Then he tells me that I'm going to get the 75 rebilled. I said "that is 1/3 of my credit card limit of 300.00!!! (close enough) and that's an outrage, it should be 25.00 annual fee on a small limit like mine." He said there is nothing he can do about it.
THEN, he tells me that if I don't use the card or pay it within 30 days, then I will be cancelled and closed. He made it VERY clear that I have to CHARGE An amount OTHER THAN the 75.00 fee in order to keep my card open, and when I asked him how often I have to charge in order to stay active and open, he gave me the runaround. I asked 7-8 times VERY clearly, making examples to him and he tried to give me the runaround again and again, and I finally was able to confirm that if I DO NOT USE THE CARD EVERY 90 days after the first 30 day initial charge that needs to be made, that my card will be CLOSED! Due to inactivity!!!
I asked if the 75.00 annual fee would be credited or prorated (ISN'T IT AN ANNUAL FEE? MEANING TO KEEP THE CARD OPEN ONE YEAR???) He said "NO!" So, this means that I have to charge something within 30 days or lose it, pay 75 annual fee, and every 90 days remember to charge so it's still active forever! I DON'T THINK SO! I first had asked him if I do not charge anything other than the 75 annual fee for the first 90 days, would they bill me interest on the annual fee and he said "YES!" That's stupid. If I don't want to charge and it's a fee, they should not be allowed to bill me a fee on a fee! That was before he said I have to charge right away. This is so they can rip you off and bill you money on the fee. I'm VERY SMART. They are messing with the wrong **!
So, I'm closing it, but now I'm afraid because I read where another person got bad credit even though they didn't use it ever, so I hope that doesn't happen!!! What happened to honesty? REALLY? 300 limit, 75 fee, is 3 months' worth of minimum payments just to pay the fee alone without interest. Omg, then I'm forced to charge right away and every 3 months and if I forget, then I lose my only CC and the 75 I paid plus the other crap just to play games to keep it open. REALLY? NO WAY!
Come on, let's file a class action. I work for the courts/lawyers and I do PI work so email me, **. We will fight them. Let's get enough of us together to file this class action. I have lawyers backing me. Let's do it!!! I'm Tricia. Let's get this done and get people's credit back and fees back and clear this mess up! I've had 100% negative experience with these guys. Having trouble deciding if they are intentionally evil or just incompetent. First of all, they are clearly trying to appear as Capital One which is why I foolishly filled out the form they sent stating I was pre-approved for $1,500. My actual credit limit was a whopping $300, nonetheless we put it into action as we are trying to build our credit back. When I got the first bill and saw that they start charging interest on the day you make a purchase, I decided I would simply put the card away and never use it.
Unlike Capital One, who has about the best software I've seen so far (in terms of online and mobile apps) Credit One is working in the dark ages. No mobile apps at all, just a really bad website which I tried to register on, but was unsuccessful. I've been writing software for about thirty years now, so I feel like I'm qualified to do this task, but I was no match for their crack team of developers.
Last week I got a bill (in the mail) from Credit One, which as you might expect came as a surprise considering I had taken it out of rotation. My wife had accidentally attached the card (looks a lot like Capital One remember) to an Amazon account and a couple purchases got put on it. Now, the thing that has me just a bit peeved is the fact that the bill came with late fees. Yes, this was the first bill I received from them for these charges, and it came with late fees. Pretty much the second I had the bill in my hand, I started getting (collection) calls from them. I answered a few times but there's never anyone on the other end. Eventually it'll just hang up on you. Obviously I have no choice but to cancel this card, which is really bad because the end result is the opposite of my intended goal -- improving my credit. I'm writing this review with no goal other than to educate others before they make the same mistake I did.

I have been reading these customer complaints, several them involved either someone paying late, falling behind or going over the limit. I've had this card for over a year to rebuild my credit. It has moved my credit score from where was. I had five bad years in a row like a domino effect. First company went out of business then fell behind so on so forth. I have never had a problem with this company making a payment, and yes they charge a fee to get your credit card as so many others do that they are there to help you rebuild credit. They have given me a second card, a MasterCard with no fees attached to it because I paid on time, never went over the limit.
My credit score is at 700 thanks to this credit card. They have helped me tremendously. Never had a problem when I had to call them which is been only two times since I've had that card. I read one of your reviews. It said they you had trouble paying online. It would not accept an advance payment. Yes they charge a fee for an Express payment but not for a regular payment. I'd pay it online every time, no problem. I don't know what you people are doing to have complaints with the company, but I have not had one problem from day one with them. As a matter fact I'd like to thank them for giving me the card to help me start over again. Years ago I used Premier Bank to start off my credit. They charge a fee, rebuilding credit can come with a fee sometimes. My second credit card has no fee through them.

When I tried to pay off the remaining Balance with another debit card They took my information and then LIED AND SAID THE TRANSACTION WAS DENIED! I know because I called my bank account the next day and they said no such attempt ever occurred. So I paid the remaining balance the next day. On their WEBSITE It went through. As a matter of fact they have been very helpful for me in rebuilding my credit. So far all or if any fees I have received were spelled out on the paperwork that I receive... I haven't had any surprises. For a credit card for someone with poor credit, it's a decent card. I don't expect benefits like a top tier card such as Amex or Discover; after all, I did start out with poor credit!! But with this card's help, I'm quickly on my way to one. I love that I can view my credit score regularly and that it is updated often. Very happy.

I finally cancelled this card after waiting on hold for almost 40 mins and getting transferred from call center to call center. TERRIBLE.

First year I paid $75 upfront for the annual fee, which is ridiculous by the way. The second year Credit One decides to change the annual fee to a monthly payment instead of a one lump-sum, upfront payment. I received a credit increase because I was never late, my credit card was paid off, never charged anything for 6+ months, no reason to open the statement. My credit monitoring app notified me two months of delinquent reports to my credit agency and late fees associated from Credit One. I called Credit One Bank which removed the late fees since I have never been late, but could not fix the delinquent posts to my credit report. To prevent this from happening again in the future I must call or pay $8.25 manually every single month. Yes, that's right, Credit One is only credit card company that does not allow you to set up automatic recurring payments. I wonder why that is???

I'll be honest, I tried to use Credit One Bank credit card to build credit as I was in my early 20's, had a child and was taught to establish credit, start with a low credit limit and try to pay back on time. I messed up I'll admit. When I told my parents the APR was 24.99% they flipped out. They told me all their banks and credit cards were no more than 14%, but this was the worst mistake in my entire life dealing with this company. I could never get and I mean never get someone that spoke decent English. I'm a U.S. resident from CT. My first mistake was I didn't know it was out of Las Vegas. I should of read the fine print, didn't know anything of a credit card fee 9.35 a month for using their card, plus 25 cents to every dollar I spend. So even when I didn't use the card I had to pay 9 bucks a month.
And they started me with a 300 dollar credit limit but really was 225 because my first payment was 75 dollars, then after that was a min of 25$. They reel you in with the great credit limit you can start off with but really isn't that amount. I did mess up payments with them, I'll be honest. Ruined my life. I know they are foreign related somehow. It was my biggest life learning lesson, never trust a credit card that's not through a big legit Bank. Please everyone please do your research before getting a credit card, if you want to establish credit go to a place you can trust. I don't even know how they got me all the way on the East Coast, they couldn't even spell my name right on the actual credit card. My name is Jonathan they spelled it Janathan.
I wish the Better Business Bureau would hire someone to call In and talk to their customer service Reps and see how awful they are. They were so rude and mean to me it was insane. Usually if you call somewhere it's press 1 for English or press 2 for Spanish. It was like pressing 0 for Middle East, no offense. I can see if I called 1 time and it was someone that couldn't speak good English but every time, and when they pass you on to another person that's their "higher up" and it's another foreign person no coincidence. I'm just so angry right now, years of dealing with this ruined my pockets and credit score.

After that, I received a card with $75 annual fee, only $500 credit line. HAHA, I did not active it. Then I called their customer service, which I could not understand what they say. They said I cannot shut down the account because they are $75 in my balance. They transferred me to another person who also does not speak English. He says he will lower the $75 to $25, I cannot throw the card because it will automatically be activated. I have to use, have to use it and pay their annual fee, you understand now??? They told me that the Emerald card had insufficient funds. I explained that I didn't make the payments with my H&R Block... they then deactivated my account until I sent them a letter stating why my account was deactivated (Seriously! A letter). So anyways after a few choice words I told them to ** off.
So brings me to today I work 12 hours at a hospital overnight, I am receiving calls left and right from a ** number a total of 8 times in 3 hours so I said hell with it and woke up to call the number and it was Credit One wanting their payment... really. I've been a customer with this company since January. I'm very dissatisfied but it looks like I'm not the only one. First of all, their percentage rates are unbelievable. Second, I have another credit card that I pay online the same way I paid this one and for my other one the payment is posted and available the next day. For Credit One, it post about a week after you pay it. That's inexcusable. My third complaint is that the customer service I've received was absolutely worthless. I had asked for a paper bill to be sent to my home so I could pay my bill. The last time I tried to pay my bill online, they said that I had insufficient funds and charged me a $25.00 late fee.
I called my bank and they said that I didn't have insufficient fund but that their records didn't show Credit One requesting a payment. So now that I'm pretty sure I'm being swindled I've decided to pay with a check through the mail. Now the problem is how can you get a bill sent to your home. I argued with this guy from customer service for 20 mins. and he finally agreed to send me a bill in my email. I waited for over a week with nothing.
Also something that was fishy was when the guy finally agreed to give me a bill in my email which I never received by the way he told me I had to make a $75.00 payment when on my online summary it says $50.00. So my question is, are they trying to get extra money from me and I know the answer to this "yes". Now I've had to resort to writing them a letter requesting a paper statement because you can't contact them online at all. I'm also dealing with a million and one phone calls from different states. And still no bill. I'm starting to wonder whose really calling me. I think they should be looked into cause they are cheating their customers and I'm questioning if they are legitimate.

I will pay them off and request a letter of payment in full. In the mean time since they couldn't produce a supervisor or they don't have any type of payment arrangements I told them I will pay when I can.
I asked "have I ever been late?" The response was "no." Then I said to them "so why is it so hard for you to understand?" His reply was "could we set up an automatic debit from your checking account?" (Does that sound like a payment arrangement to you?) I told him "NO, you have no supervisors. I pay when I can. As long as I'm not 30 days past due there is nothing you can do about it!!" I hung up.
I finally brought the account current. Still they kept calling me. Then I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of Las Vegas. I am in receipt of an account statement from your institution claiming that I owe $425.87 I have no documentation from you indicating in any way, other than a late fee of $35.00, interest charged of $7.05, and an “ANNUAL FEE 06/16 THROUGH 06/16” – whatever that means, of $8.25. In fact, I have not received a statement for this credit card that describes any type of goods or services purchased in well over 6 months.
Judging from what I’ve read online by other people describing their experiences with your lending practices (CONSUMERAFFAIRS.org is a great place to start), it seems I’m not at all alone in being expected to pay you an incredible amount of money for simply being fooled into thinking I was dealing with a legitimate lending institution/credit card company or bank. Obviously, as the more than two thirds of others have expressed with their one-star ratings (many saying they wish they could give zero or negative stars), that’s not the case. I have not used this card to buy anything in well over six months.
In fact, on several occasions I’ve been told the transaction I was trying to complete with an online retailer had been declined even though my account was in good standing at the time and all required information had been entered correctly. As a result, I stopped trying to use the card for such purposes and relegated it to occasional small purchases at local retailers such as hardware stores and the like. The last such purchase was at Home Depot in Encinitas, CA sometime last October. I bought roughly $28 worth of garden soil, received a statement from you shortly thereafter, and paid the statement amount in full. After that I did not receive anything, either via email or USPS from you for months.
Then, in March of this year, you sent me an account statement saying I owed you roughly $189, with no description of what constituted that figure or any explanation of why this was the first statement you had sent me in nearly 6 months. I called your customer service number & asked for an explanation of this accounting and was told by that person they could not go into those details of my account. I then stated I wanted the account closed immediately and that I be sent, in writing, how this figure was reached as well as a date for when you last sent me anything regarding my account. Since then, you have simply sent (suddenly with far greater regularity) statements imposing more fees and interest on that still unfounded dollar amount and on an account which is now closed.
Again, as I’ve found by reading reviews of your company, this is not just par for the course as far as how you treat your customers – confounding and usurious account charges, bullying anyone who dares to call and question those charges, and, finally tarnishing credit ratings for people who are obviously trying to rebuild their credit (why else would they accept your absurd $75 fee just for opening an account with you) – but apparently the only method you know of to make money in this endeavor. Now you want me to pay more than twice that March amount (which had no validity in the first place) while still providing me no information as to how you came to that figure.
Because your account statements and other communications with me have been spotty at best in the time I’ve been an account holder, I would like you to provide me with all account statements for this account going back one year, to June, 2015. I would like to know every charge, payment and any and all other activity (including declined purchases) from that same time frame. If you can identify any charges I did incur to my account in the way of goods and services purchased, I will certainly pay for those charges, sans any late fees or other penalties you failed to make me aware of until quite recently. If you are unable to this, I will assume our relationship is done in full and I will be paying you nothing. Thank you. Regretful "card" holder.

Second, I have already paid my account in full but because of late fees and all other fees they are charging, I now owe more than what the original amount was. They get a regular payment from me each month. My credit score has been dropped so low that I cannot even apply for another one to pay them off. I am also enrolled in credit protection and WTF, again, I cannot even apply for a lower interest rate loan to get rid of these leeches. Don't - I mean DON'T ever apply for anything from these people (if you want to call them that)!!!

Like so many people on here, I'm also having a problem with Credit One. Of course I want to build up my credit like everyone else, but the one thing I didn't know is the lengthy amount of time it's going to take for money to go back on your card for a payment. I made a $50 payment, 3 days ago and tomorrow being the 4th day will be the time I can use my card again. I would have put more on my card but my job sucks balls. Anyhow 4 days is the standard waiting time, the company calls it "Floating", for your money to go through. I call it BS. To make things worse, there is a bunch of 800 numbers but none of them to help you to get to customer service. No direct line for that. And that just leads to more irritation.

EVERYONE please beware of this credit card. If you have bad credit or need to rebuild your credit, you should avoid this credit card and find ANY other option. I feel like I'm trapped in hell having to deal with them so if this review helps one consumer I'll feel like I've been helpful. There are SO many problems with this credit card company. I was involved a really bad car accident just before the Holidays and my car was totaled by someone. You can imagine the impact this had on me, both mentally and financially. I would need some time to get back on my feet financially. I contacted ALL of my creditors, including Credit One. All of the creditors were able to provide me a temporary financial hardship payment plan... including my Target card. Target had more compassion and understanding than this pathetic Credit One Bank...
Here is a list of problems I've had trying to deal with Credit One. First, when you call you ALWAYS get connected to someone in India or the Philippines. When you ask to speak to someone in America they tell you that they either can't transfer your call or the American office is closed. I called at 1 pm Pacific time on a Thursday... How can that American office be closed?? If you fall behind in being able to make payments, they threaten to send you to outside collections and charge outrageous fees. During one of my calls to them I was talking with a foreign representative who for some reason kept repeating what I was saying out loud and then I heard another person in the background laughing at what she was saying. How disrespectful can they be - I'm glad they think it's funny that I need assistance during a hardship.
When I confronted the representative and asked her about the laughing she said, "Oh, I'm sorry you weren't supposed to hear that..." Are you ** kidding me... and finally I took the time to write a letter to their Headquarters in Las Vegas expressing my concerns, explaining my situation and informing them of how their customer service reps were treating customers. I received a letter back saying, basically "Sorry we can't help you, try calling Credit Counseling." DO NOT get involved with this company unless you want to experience the hell that I have.
Credit One Bank cares about themselves and not their customers. UNFORTUNATELY, I wish I would have researched them before ever opening the account. It has been 5 months since my accident, I am caught up with ALL of my other creditors EXCEPT Credit One Bank... They are SAD and PATHETIC and I have NO PROBLEM saying that based on how I've been treated by them.

I've been with credit one for 5+ years and it's always been a ridiculous, stressful experience. No email contact. You HAVE to call them and 100% of the time you'll talk to someone you can barely understand and NOTHING will get done! After 6 years of not a single late fee on any account, I've had 3 with Credit One caused by the following: their mobile site does NOT work and when asking about it I was told, "well don't use our site on your phone" and went through 2 months of not being able to sign in to my account even using my desktop. I was asked "have you tried using a different browser?" What the hell?! This is 2016 people. No matter what you do you'll reach a dead end. You will not get your money back. Just pay out your account and close it. WORST business I've ever dealt with.

I want to ward off anyone considering this credit card! In my attempt to rebuild my credit after filing bankruptcy, I got a card. I knew full well that the APR rate would be high, but I decided as long as I paid more than the minimum balance (I paid $37) the minimum of $25 it would help lift my credit rating. I was so wrong! The $37 payment I made on-time every month enough. After weird finance charges that differed every month, my principal payment was only $9 and some change.
The website is counter-intuitive and if you locate how to make a payment on the website you are charged a fee! After making on-time payments for more than six months my credit limit was increased from $300 to $500 - I was charged a $19.95 fee! I decided to pay the balance off and close it, but it looks bad on your credit to close an account voluntarily, so I left the card open, but I got charged a fee, and of course there is the $49.00 fee you have to pay which you are charged interest on. I closed it anyway because this card does not help rebuild your credit. Go to Capital one instead!

When I first got the card I thought it was a decent deal, even after knowing the interest rates were pretty high. My goal was to have an unsecured card on my credit report in good standing as I had went through a difficult divorce. I paid my card on time with no problem every month. My dad passed away on December 20th last year and I was the one taking care of him. They don't have auto-pay, so I'm required to either send in a check monthly or go online to pay. The payment was due December 22, two days after my dad's death. I paid the bill the following month after losing my dad. I explained my circumstances, even offered to supply a copy of the death certificate and guardianship paperwork that I had but instead of remembering my perfect payment record since I've had the card (over a year), they added a 30 day late to my account and will not remove it.
Due to the high interest rate, I paid the account off to a zero balance and I found out that 7 days later that they were charging my annual fee monthly after charging it upfront the first time. On top of this, they charge interest based on your average daily balance even if your current balance was zero. I asked if I could pay the annual fee upfront and they said no, they must bill monthly. I'm happy I checked online after I paid my balance to zero or I would have ended up with another 30 day late over $8.95. This company nickels and dimes you to death. If it wouldn't be such a negative hit to my credit report I'd close this card.

If you happen to see my review about Credit One Bank and are considering whether to become a customer, let me say emphatically DON'T DO IT and DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT! Credit One Bank is a LOSER (WITH A CAPITAL L) credit card company. I happened to pay on my account ONCE two hours after the payment deadline. I was thus charged a $25 fee for this tardy action (two hours late on the same day as the payment, mind you). I called "Customer Service" and spoke with the Filipina who has the hard to understand Tagalog accented English, and who seems to be the only rep there is for the company. I asked her if the late payment fee could be waived due to my one time being late. She assented and said it would be removed as a "one time courtesy." O.K., fine and dandy, everything is peachy again.
I then notice immediately that I was mulcted a $5.99 interest charge. Was this because they removed my late payment fee? I would venture to say yes. I had to be punished somehow after the bait was switched. When I received the next billing statement, the vultures had also suddenly doubled my minimum payment as well, which has never been done before by any reputable creditor company that I am aware of. Do not be the naive fly that waltzes into the web of deceit spun by the usurers of Credit One Bank! They are real slick operators who ought to be shut out of business.

I had to find that there was a hidden annual fee. It is in the fine print. I only used this card for emergencies and to boost my credit so I kept a $0 balance. I called them to specifically ask for the date and amount of the annual fee. I marked this date on my calendar and paid it when it came due. All of a sudden the annual fee because a monthly fee. I ended up missing it and they charged me a late fee and my account was posted as 11 days late. (Not good.) Their customer service is 100% outside the United States. I was transferred 4 times before someone actually closed my account. DO NOT USE THIS BANK! THEY ARE WHAT IS WRONG WITH LENDING IN AMERICA!

I took out the Credit One card in order to build credit. Up until now I had not had a serious problem. I did not like their website from the beginning. You do not have an option to prepay on the date your payment is due. Once you do online to make a payment it will only accept payment the day you are entering your information. With that said, I went online to make my payment and my payment was refused. I was very close to my due date without much wiggle room. The same issue happened the previous month with my other account. The problem was solved on the phone and they "waived" the late fee. However, my payment was not considered late - strike one against my credit report. My payment was then magically accepted online. The company insisted the problem was with my banking institution. I did not believe them. Now comes another payment with my other account - same problem. They insist is was my bank.
I decided to overnight the payment because I would rather pay the overnight fee rather than give them the late fee. As of today I don't know if it was received since they are slow in posting but fast in charging fees. I had enough time to mail my payment on my other card. I went to the bank and there is no "hold" on my account. Which I already knew since there were no other problems with any of the accounts I pay online. The problem, if there is one, lies in Credit One and I firmly believe that this is some type of scam. I should also say this happened once with my mortgage payment - another dicey company. I tried to pay online and was told my account didn't even exist! Of course they got a late fee out of the deal and had the nerve to bill me for an additional 30 cents! Really?? So much for doing the right thing and paying on time with extra to boot.

I signed up with Credit One knowing that the experience would likely be a pain, but it was a necessary evil at the time. After having done so, I used the card and went to their website to make my first payment. I was dismayed to find that I could only pay on it with my bank account and that attempting to do "express pay" would cost a fee, even though it was the only method that would allow me to pay with my debit card. But I decided to stick it out and continue with them anyway, thinking perhaps that was the one issue I would come across.
I finally got to a good enough financial standpoint that I could pay off the card, and was excited to do so. Upon making the payment, however, their site informed me that I had made three payments on one bill, and apparently that's a huge no-no because they refused to recognize my bank account. I would have to re-verify it. Well, the money I had paid down to wipe away my balance with them was still hanging, and I called to make sure that it was still going to go through. I was told that it was, and later, once I checked on the account again, I found that it had a zero balance. That was good enough for me, so I decided to keep the card around in case I ever needed it, but haven't used it since I paid it off.
Fast forward to today, where I got a phone call from them. I didn't know who it was until I looked up the number. I checked the online account to see where I was at, and found a $48 balance that I had NOT put there! So I called to cancel the card, just done with the whole experience. I first got to someone who insisted I basically verify every single inch of my existence before he would even listen to me. Then he told me that he couldn't help me. So I was transferred to someone who also told me they were going to transfer me. The last person I spoke to, I could barely hear. I swear that she was on a cell phone somewhere, and I kept trying to understand her but finally, after her spiel about all the things they could do for me if I just wouldn't cancel my card, I told her, "Stop, I can't understand a single word you are saying. I don't even care about the balance that I didn't incur. I'll pay it, but I want my card cancelled now, today."
So she told me that they cancelled my card. I don't know if they actually did or not, but I wanted it out there, somewhere, that this happened so that I can fight it if they try to make me pay more. I've paid the balance that was on the card (the $48) just to have it over with, but if they try to hit me again with something, I want it recorded that I DID NOT DO IT and that my card was supposed to be cancelled. Still waiting on some kind of confirmation that they did it. Do not do business with Credit One, no matter how desperate you are!

I got this card to have an emergency back up and to build my credit a bit when it went down after a messy divorce. It helped build my credit, but its annual fee was terrible at 9 bucks a month. So I finally called to cancel it, and the annual fee had posted 3 days prior. The customer service rep told me that they will send me a letter confirming that it's closed, and they will wipe the fee off.
A month later I receive a collections call informing me that my annual fee was 18 days late, that they charged me another PLUS a late fee, PLUS wanted to charge me a $9.00 "convenience fee" for making the payment with their collections team over the phone. The manager was extremely rude, informed me that "there was nothing he could do for me" and only after I ended up yelling at him (which I never do, having worked in customer service previously) did he take off the late fee and the "convenience fee." Additionally, you have to pay for any credit increases, their credit tracker is very inaccurate, and in addition I hope you don't have an emergency when your bill is due, because you have to pay $15 for express payments online using a debit card. This card WILL help you raise your credit, but there are far better companies with far better cards and much better customer service.

I am currently on hold with Credit One. Have been for over an hour. Someone made 8 charges at a Walmart 300 miles from where I was using my card in Los Angeles. 8 charges. And this company didn't flag that as suspicious. Where's the security? The next day when I discovered the issue and called to report it, I was told that I would need to wait 90 days for an investigation. 90 days. While they determine that I can't be in two places at one time. Meanwhile, the charges remain, they keep reporting, credit utilization tanks, payment still due. When I called a week later to check status I was told that no investigation/report existed. Yeah, *eye roll*. So they open another. Another for me. A ‘first for them'.
Today I call back to check status. They are full of apologies for my inconvenience but aren't willing to do anything to alleviate any of it. Also, they issued another card, which I haven't received and is probably being used in New York. I honestly feel like they are trying to wear me down at this point. Their thinking seems to be along the lines of, “maybe she'll get over it.” “Maybe she'll just get tired.” “Maybe she'll pay.” NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. They sent me a card once with an 800 number to activate it. It hit the shredder along with anything else they send me. A rep from Credit One contacted me asking where my 75.00 payment was, I played stupid and asked "for what charge?" He said "to activate your card"... "What card?" I said. "We sent you a card." I don't have it, when was it activated? "Uhhhhhhh? It doesn't show here." So you want me to pay for what exactly? "The activation fee..." I ask... "on a card that I don't have that was never activated?" "We can send you another card. But make sure you activate it as soon as you get it..." I agreed to do that.
Credit One has sent me a total of 5 cards, all ended in the shredder. Each time a rep calls for the 75.00, I get a new card. That alone tells me how they conduct business. I have not read a single favorable review about Credit One. I have sent numerous emails to NASCAR executives stating they are ruining the brand. This company is as useless as it gets and my intent is to build a website to start garnishing documentation to file a class action lawsuit against them for illegal banking practices. I had an offer in the mail to use their product and decided to make use of their services as I was building my credit. I used them for the past 6 months, paying my bills on time and not focusing on the transactions on my account, assuming all transactions to be correct. I had an illegal charge go through my card on 5.13.2016 and called them to dispute the issue. I was told that they could not do anything to help and I wondered what kind of protection is offered to the consumers. I talked with an account supervisor (Jenny / id **) and an account manager (Desiree / id **). I regularly bank with Chase and Capital One and had never heard of anything so ludicrous. They could not help but asked me to send a letter to their Las Vegas office to start the proceedings.
Before putting my thoughts on paper, I spent time reviewing my statement for any discrepancies and this morning noted that I have been charged $4.22 monthly for credit protection which I did not authorize. I called Capital One again and was told that the charge had been levied by a sister company and they could not cancel it. My acceptance of the credit card came with a rider, the additional charge of credit protection which I did not authorize. I was transferred to another number but could not get a human to initiate the cancellation. How is it that the company that swore to protect me and help me build my credit is imposing unauthorized charges?
I asked them the reps at Credit One who regulated their bank and to whom could I escalate my issue. Anticipating that I would be told FDIC, I was referred to the BBB. When does BBB regulate banks? They are completely clueless, unethical and corrupt. This has to change. The journey starts with you, please do not suffer in silence. Leave me your story and let others learn from you. "Caveat Emptor". This is one of the worst bait and switch card issuers out there. Only use them if you are desperate and have tried everywhere else and have no place else to go. I have a 640 beacon score with no delinquencies and no charge-offs but a lot of debt. Unfortunately, I have a paid and released IRS Lien that drags down my score and prevents any auto-approvals from respected banks. I am trying to get it off my report. So, an ad for this company popped up while I was surfing the internet and I decided to apply. They make a lot of promises to entice you to apply, but they don't tell you that all the good things in their online pre-qualifying disclosure statement you still need great credit for. So after enticing me with the "Up to $1,500" credit line spiel, they approved me for a $300 line of credit, with a $75 annual fee that increases to $99 the 2nd year billed monthly.
The actual disclosure also indicates that they will start to calculate the interest when the charges post with no grace period. So, I declined the card and closed the window. The next day I get an email from them saying they had a better deal for me and the annual fee will only be $24.95 each year with Zero Enrollment and Over the Limit Fees and this card has a 1% cash back on gas purchases. Since I buy on average of $250 worth of gas a week it piqued my interest. They were still charging interest at posting date, but I decided to take the offer and keep the card and make small purchases and pay quickly to see if they would actually raise the limit as that would make the annual fee more tolerable. After all most credit cards have some type of annual fee and the 1% cash back would offset that fee as well as the small amount of accrued interest if I paid the card quickly.
When the card finally came in the mail that is when the nightmare started. I went online to activate the card and setup the account. Once I had access to the account I saw a current balance of $75. I then read the enclosed disclosure statement included with the card the Annual Fee was $75 the first year and $99 starting the second year billed monthly at $8.25. This was a total switch from what I was approved for. So I called the toll free number on the card and I got a call center that I think is located in the Philippines. I spoke to a person named Ann who spoke English pretty well, but with an accent that sounded Filipino and she kept mispronouncing my name and adding letters to it. I explained to her what was going on and she said that I was wrong and they did not have any programs with an annual fee less than $75.
I told her I had the approval email containing the full disclosure statement indicating the $24.95 fee and I could email it to her. She said it didn't matter because that fee didn't exist and I was wrong and did not read the information correctly. So, I asked for a supervisor. I got a woman named Delores who spoke with the same slight hint who also could not pronounce my name. My name is only six letter and two syllables and phonetically it is pronounced just like it is spelled. After repeating my name to her a few times I gave up trying. I explained the situation to her and she basically parroted the same thing Ann said.
So, I asked her to close the account in accordance with the disclosure statement. She said "what if I reduce the annual fee to $50?" I said "NO please just close the account." She then said "ok, ok I'll reduce the fee to $25 to make you happy." I said "will that be for every year?" and she said "no next year you will be billed $8.25 per month." I said "ok then. I will just probably close the account before the anniversary if you folks continue to try and charge me that fee." We parted ways. Later, I started thinking do I really want to go through that hassle in 12 months for a card with such a low limit and high interest. My credit will be better in 3 to 6 months once I get those forms to get that tax lien off. So, I Googled Credit One Bank and found a number for them in Las Vegas. I called the number and asked for customer serviced in the US.
Of course they said "no problem", but transferred me to a woman named Rose who spoke with a very slight accent I couldn't make out if it was Filipino or Indian it was so slight. However, at least she could pronounce my name correctly on the first go. I asked her to close the account. She said she would but first she wanted to know why. I explained to her what had transpired earlier and she of course parroted the same thing the other two women had said. I said "why won't you folks believe what I am reading on my computer screen and have printed for my records." She then said if I wanted to fax or mail my docs to her they would make a determination in 21 days and possibly adjust the fees, but she could not promise. I said "why can't I email them to you?", she said they don't have email. So, I said "please just close the account and be done with it."
She then offered to take $25 off if I would keep the card. I said "why would I take that when the other woman had taken $50 off and I still didn't want the card." So she said she would close the account and we parted ways. Later on that evening I went to the account online and sure enough it said it was closed and I printed a copy for my records. I went back to the website two more times and both times it was still closed. So I considered the issue resolved. The next day I received an email stating that my account had just been activated and was now ready for me to use. I am like "HUH" so I went online and sure enough the account had been reactivated for 05/10. The annual fee was $50 with the first payment due on 5/23. So I called back to Las Vegas and the lady who answered the phone said that she was going to transfer me to the US based customer service.
Surprise, surprise surprise I got Rose again. Who of course did not remember me even though we spent over an hour on the phone yesterday. She said she had talked to too many customers to remember me. I joked that's they must have a lot of upset customers. I told her about the email and that the account was back active. She replied that it was impossible and nothing should have generated an email and the account was closed. I said "well I have it here," and I read it to her and the info from the account screen which she said was closed. She refused to acknowledge anything. So, I asked her to take my username and password and access the account for herself. She said she wouldn't because the account didn't exist regardless of what I was looking at on my computer screen.
Finally after the two of us going back and forth she said she would send me a letter confirming the account was closed and I was not responsible for any charges. She said I should get it in 7 to 10 days. I am going to need that letter because I know this is not over. I can pretty much guarantee that this is going to show up as a delinquency on my credit report and I am going to have to jump through hoops to get it taken off. Steer clear of these people. They are dishonest, disrespectful and deceptive.

I have literally had the card for 3 days. I activated it, one week later I receive a statement in the mail. Mind you I have not even used the card once. My statement says 81.00 for "fee charges". How are you going to charge someone fees whom has not even had the card for a week. So I call the phone number on my statement and by no surprise at all you can't contact an actual human. They give you every other option to chose from but nothing about a human. My advice don't get the card. If you have it already cancel and get rid of it. By far THE WORST company I have ever used.

I called Credit One last week after being charged a late fee although my payment was made on the due date. Instead my call was rerouted to another company offering a special package. I kept declining the offer and asked me to transfer to someone that could help me with my situation. They would immediately hang up on me. I must have called back 5 - 6 times to get this resolved. Each time they would tell me about this offer and I would decline even though they would keep talking. Finally, I listened to the whole darn thing, thinking I would just get through this and can be transferred to the correct person. They said I could cancel it after 14 days. So here I am, 7 days later, trying to cancel and they keep hanging up on me.
First off, I tried calling the number they gave me but it was "no longer in service". So I called the regular Credit One number and I get rerouted to them again. The 2nd time I called, the lady tells me "Ok, it's cancelled" and immediately hangs up on me. No confirmation or anything. So I call back a 3rd time and speak with someone and they confirmed that it was cancelled. Not friendly AT ALL! I guess the only confirmation I will truly have is my next credit card statement. Besides this, I have to agree with everyone else on the enormous fees that we're being charged every month. I thought this was a good way to rebuild my credit but now I feel it's just a big fat scam. Don't get me wrong, it was nice to have the card when I needed it but the fees are outrageous! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS CARD!!!

This is by far one of the worst credit card companies on the face of the earth! I have not used this card in over 6 months, and I make my payments on time every month (automatic payments set up through my bank to come out the day before the payment is due) but I'm being charged a late fee. This is straight bs! I was forced to get credit protection! Also they changed the amount of my payment due with my knowledge. About 2 months ago they sent me an email for a credit increase but I declined and now all of a sudden I'm being charged late fees I call bs. I will gladly take place in any lawsuit against this company!

I accepted this card primarily for trusted online purchases and gas station use because I do not like using my debit card on these things. So the first month was okay, paid my balance in full and even paid 2 charges that I had made and would be on my next statement because I realized that unlike legitimate credit card companies, Credit One starts charging interest the day the charge is posted. The second billing cycle, had 2 fraudulent charges, location was Hot Springs, AR. I stopped using that card and I sent a letter of dispute to the company. A week later, I checked my account online again and there were 3 more fraudulent charges, all from Hot Springs.
I called the phone number for them and the person on the other end could not speak English to any understandable degree. 30 minutes later, I think he understood that there were now 5 fraudulent charges on my account and to cancel the card. I sent in a letter of dispute for the other 3 fraudulent charges as well. So I check my account online yesterday and find an account transfer of $870.00. All of the fraudulent charges only add up to $614.78 and the legit charges I made had all been paid. So I wish I had checked on this company before accepting their card. It never occurred to me that the law would let a company operate like this. My little voice tells me it is going to be tough to get them out of my life.

I am not even going to rate this company. After providing the name of my attorney TWO TO THREE times over the course of 2 weeks, and after filing a complaint with the BBB, I received a phone call from the "president" (Ms. **) of the company wanting, wait for it, THE NAME OF MY ATTORNEY so they could respond to the BBB complaint. Because, don't be shocked, my account was not updated when it should have been last week or the week before.
Whether you pay on time or not, late fees are charged to your account. They make up fees, due dates, and if a rep. does not understand your issue they hang up on you. Now, because I stopped making payment, it went on my credit report. There was point in making payments with these people. If I used my bill pay, it was wrong, and somehow, using THEIR WEBSITE for payments was not the way to go. I did that and was still charged late fees ON THE DAY THE PAYMENT WAS DUE. I contacted these people repeatedly for help and info regarding my account and was consistently given the wrong information. I explained I am also working with a wonderful credit card consolidation company. CREDIT ONE said NO to that; although Ms. **, who spoke to me like I was an idiot, told me they can provide a list of the companies they use.
DO NOT, DO NOT engage this company. They are the single worst company out there and they 100% take advantage of people looking to rebuild their credit through hidden fees and convenient late payments, etc. I am anticipate suing for the money back I paid in fees and also for the right to have this removed from my credit report. This company is stealing from people under the guise they are working with the consumer. Trust me, they don't.

Further, nowhere in the initial paperwork did I see anything that advised about an annual fee. If I had, I never would have applied. Again, already had good credit. The fees associated with this card are ridiculous, and the work to try and close this account is a nightmare!!! I can't believe their practices haven't been held accountable by the attorney general in NV already!!!

I would give a less star but you can't rate negative stars. This company is beyond horrible. I called in to cancel the card after realizing that I never used it and I got a better deal from Capital One as Barclay Card. The annual fee and the charge for a increase in credit for being a "good customer" (I never used the card, not once). Well upon "cancelling" the card they waived the annual fee. Long story card was never cancelled. I was charged the increase fee along with a late fee, so now I have in dispute right now a total of almost $75.00 in charges that I never asked for. As well as they hit my credit report for being late.
My latest experience with customer service resulted in me getting hung up on when I said what they were doing was wrong and how do they think they're right by doing this. Now I have hired an attorney for more than the charges but I'm sick of them getting away with crap like this. And it seems like I am not the only one this type of stuff is happening to.

I had this card for a little more than a year I believe and it was a terrible experience. For one, if you are late on a payment, they will call you like every 5 minutes every day until you make a payment, even when told not to. One month it was like 6 days BEFORE the payment was due and they called me like 8 times that day to try to get me to pay it early. WHY?!
Could barely understand the call center reps, very heavy Indian accent, and felt pretty certain they either couldn't understand me well, or were giving canned responses and ignoring my actual questions. VERY frustrating and very difficult to get them to get you a supervisor or manager. Paying your card you have 2 options: pay with a bank account and your money is not available until like 5 days later, or pay with a debit card and they charge you 10 dollars. They are charging you to repay your debt to them? Am I the only one that thinks that is completely mental?? That's like paying your friend back 10 bucks and he tells you that if you hand him the money it's an extra 5 dollars. HOW DOES THAT MAKE SENSE?!
Here is the best part. Every time I tried to make a payment they tried to tell me I had to pay more, no matter what my balance was. I had one person tell me that I had to pay my balance down that day, though I told him I couldn't do it at that moment because I was driving on the highway and didn't feel safe taking out my card. You know what he did? HE TOLD ME TO PULL OVER TO MAKE THE PAYMENT! Are you kidding me? You can't leave me alone long enough for me to get where I am safe to pay a stupid bill?!?! Worst customer service experience of my life.

I relocated to the US and had no credit history. I applied for several cards and was only able to get approved for one. When I received a preapproval letter from Credit One I was so happy. I had done some research and had found that Capital One was a very good option for credit cards so I immediately accepted the offer and was approved. I received the card in the mail promptly, and to my surprise it was not a Capital One card, it was a Credit One. I looked at what I had done, and surely enough, I had been tricked in thinking that I was applying for a Capital One card. If you do a quick Google search of "Credit One vs Capital One logo" you will notice that Credit One is deliberately trying to pass as Capital One, but they are completely different products.
I was waived the annual fee and received a 300 dollar credit line, so I accepted the card. Thought I would use it only for gas, as they offered rewards. My first billing cycle was another surprise. That's when I realized they capitalize interests DAILY. That means that if you spend 20 dollars on day 1, and pay them on day 5, you already owe interests. This is completely different as most cards, where you can spend for a month, the cycle closes and then you still have several weeks to pay in full without paying interests. I was pissed.
I went to their webpage to pay the balance + interests in full and had another surprise. When you pay online, it may take them 4-10 business days to process payment! You can accelerate this process for roughly 10 dollars. That's when I finally realized how this company is 100% in the business of preying for clients who are desperate to get a card or rebuild credit. They will charge you fees for basically everything, and they will charge you interest every single day you owe them.
I decided then and there not to use the card anymore, just keep it open so it won't hurt my credit. A year has gone by and sure enough I forgot to cancel before they started charging me an annual fee (they charge it to you in monthly installments). I just called today their customer service number 1-877-825-3242 to cancel. Of course there is no option in their 1-7 menu to cancel, so I tried different options until a human answered the phone and asked to cancel. Of course they offered to waive the annual fee so I wouldn't cancel, I declined. They reminded me they report to the major credit bureaus, replied not interested, want to cancel. Finally they told me, "Ok, your account is cancelled". I said, "Is that all", the reply was "Yes". I asked for a confirmation email or confirmation number, they said "Sure, the confirmation number is 2016." "2016?" "Yes, 2016 uhm 05". "Got it, thank you!"
That is how I got to this page and I'm writing this review. I am sure they will not cancel my card and will have to call again and fight to get the annual fee for next month cancelled. Searching the web I found a tip mentioning I should send a letter letting them know I have asked to cancel my card, date, time, account info, and the so-called confirmation number, asking them to confirm that my account with them is closed. I assume this is to provide proof that I have requested a cancellation. I also assume this means it will probably be hard to get this card cancelled.
The company is not scamming anyone. It provides a card to people who cannot get a card elsewhere. The product they offer is incredibly expensive, but if you read, they disclose all that, so it's "legal". Even the logo they use is deemed "different enough" to not be deceptive... I guess they have a good team of lawyers. Needless to say, I do not recommend this card to anyone. There are other options nowhere near as expensive as this card to build credit.

I again waited for another 10 minutes on hold. Here's the kicker. When I was connected to that office, they were not open!!! Why didn't the two reps tell me that? Now these people take all the information of what happened. They do not credit your account back right away. You have to wait till they finish an investigation before you see the money back into your account. But what upset me most of all was they upped my payments, and they knew that was not right.
Had to get a lawyer friend of mine to call and let them know that what they were doing was unlawful. Now I did get my payments back to what they were, but this card company will not refund the money back to the account until 30 to 60 days so I have a card I can not use, but I still make payments. So If you want to rebuild your credit go to another card company because these people do not have your back, you will pay dearly. And as soon as I pay this card off they can kiss my butt :). Ok, there was a fee but I figured since most of them do in these circumstances. Then after a few months I thought about adding an authorized user. They wanted to charge me for that! Then I get a notice that says I have been a good little customer offering me a credit increase. Cool, the limit started at only $400 so a few hundred extra would be nice to have. They wanted to charge me for that too! Who charges for a credit increase they are offering me?
Then my year comes up and now my yearly fee INCREASES for being a good paying customer and they want to charge it monthly! So even if I don't have a balance I am going to have a fee posted every month so I better remember to pay that or you know if, a late charge!!! So I call to cancel the card. I am told they will continue to charge the monthly fee as long as there is a balance on the account! "What, but the account is closed and I'm not using it, why would you continue to charge me a monthly fee?" Of course I always get someone in a foreign country that I can hardly understand, that cannot answer the question anyways!
So the next month I pay that darn credit card off! I paid online and selected pay balance. Then I check today and not only do I still have the monthly fee which I kinda expected until it was closed, I had interest charges as well. So I called again about the interest charges on a balance that I paid in full. That was the interest accrued before you paid it off, I was told! Hello...I selected pay the account in full, why is that not calculated and included like every other credit card I have ever had. No reason, just their policy, per May from the Philippines.
So I pay the stupid little fees online while holding for the third time and tell her to close the account. She said she would submit a request to have the fees reversed for the month of May! What the heck? I am closing the account today 4/19/16, why would there be any fees for May if the account is paid in full and closed in April??? She spoke some gibberish and I said "I expect no additional charges on this account and I demand it is closed today!" I logged in to my account online and it does show the account as closed.
I have printed the info showing my payment amount, balance due and date account was closed. Hopefully, this is the last I have to deal with them for the rest of my life! I DO NOT recommend this company. They lie, have no idea what they are doing and try to take advantage of people trying to rebuild their credit. It's not worth it. Try Capital One instead. I did get one of the reps to finally, give me the balance. And I keep record of all my transactions and every money order receipt I send them. I am still sending my payments without statements. They blocked me from checking on my account through their automated system and got the calls going straight to a representative. If I find out they are adding all kind of charges to my account. I hit no, then it was "do you want TMobile, then another and another and another type scam". I finally got someone on the phone after 20 min and was told I OVERPAID so it suspended my account. You can ONLY use the amount of credit limit they give you per month. I paid hundreds more than my credit line and that check cleared my bank last week, so instead of giving me the credit to use I have to wait it out until their NEXT billing cycle.
I honestly think this company is run by the mob. They charge you extra just to make a payment over the phone or online if you want it there in 2-3 days. It's crazy. I have had a lot of cards in the past and never have I seen such blatant scam tactics like this company uses, and FYI... this company has changed its name. They used to be called First National Bank of Marin (I asked because I figured when they locked me out they were going under so I am pretty sure they got in trouble and just renamed their company). I asked for their corporate office (by now it had been almost an hour trying to figure why my account was suspended).
Finally an American lady told me the above AND after your first year you will be charged $8.99 PER MONTH just to use their card. I plan on canceling this card which sucks because I was using it rebuild my credit but I would rather have NO card than be scammed like this. OH, and the interest rate is around 24%. That is pretty darn high. Thankfully I pay it every month and never got hit with those kind of charges. Trust me, this card is horrible. Do yourself a favor and get a secured card if you have bad credit like half the country does right now. I don't know how these people sleep at night.

She was rude keep putting me on hold. 3rd call spoke to a Harry. I asked for his best Customer Service so he tried his best. He then got the Supervisor on the line name of Ricky. I asked him about charges on the acct. He mentioned about the payment I made of $559.95. He credit me the $9.95 along with my $550.00. Ok nice. But he charged me again the $9.95 - didn't make no sense. They charge interest for the Balance on the acct and interest on the Cash Advance. Never heard of Credit Card that charges for everything. There's is no reason for anything, why? If paid early and no overage why? My request for payment on the 24 and this has not been done yet. I repeatedly explain, there is fraudulent activity on my account, but I have the card in my possession. He repeatedly tells me to call Customer Service, which is exactly where I did call. I posted on the FaceBook site, I wrote to the Better Business Bureau, I filed a complaint w/ Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and it is now in the hands of the Office of Controller of Currency. I received this card end of October/early November 2015. Made my payments on time and even received a credit limit increase in February. That's when it all starts to go downhill. One day upon checking my account, I noticed a few charges I did not make nor authorize that were from out of state. I immediately called customer service to which I was told I didn't have to worry about them because they didn't go through. A few days after that, I received an email stating that I had successfully set up Apple pay on my account. I don't own an iPhone.
So I called cs again and spoke with a gentleman who proceeded to tell me I activated the service on my iPhone 6s. I told him that I don't even own an iPhone and asked why would I authorize a service on a phone I don't own? He then stated he removed the service. Maybe about a week or so after that I checked my account online and noticed my cl was only 60 cents. Not only that there was a large payment showing as pending that I didn't make or authorize.
After making three calls, I finally reached a person who seemed to understand my situation. It was determined that not only was the card compromised, they had an address in New Jersey listed on the account. I know no one in Jersey. The card I had was canceled and a new one was to be issued. This was around the end of February. I still have not received a card. When I am asked to verify my address, that address in Jersey still shows up in their system. As I have stated, I do not know anyone in Jersey. My card had not been out of my possession. They cannot or will not understand this. This past Thursday had been my third time requesting a new card, which also marks the week in which I started receiving calls from them requesting payment (I had a payment due 3/27), every 15-30 minutes for about 3 hours starting around 7:30 am.
They took a break Friday and started up again on Saturday and Sunday. I answered one of their calls this morning and told them I have no problem making a payment just that I won't be doing it until I receive my new card. I was transferred to another woman, who I guess they thought that she could convince me to pull out my debit card and make a payment. Seriously?! Why would I make a payment on an account that I don't have any information to?! She continued to say that each day I don't make a payment interest will be charged. I told her I'm willing to take that chance and restated I won't be making a payment until I get my new card.
Also was told I had been late paying twice in the time I had the account. How could that be? Paid online, where it stated if payment was received before certain time on the due date, it would post that day. Payments were made on due date, if not a few days before. They are just aggravating to deal with. If I knew a few months ago what I know now, I wouldn't have done business with them at all!

I would give them a MINUS 10 if I could. I agree with the other reviewers. This company should be closed down and the people in charge should be tried and convicted. They are WORSE than loan sharks. A loan shark will tell you up front what you will pay. These people are liars and deceitful thieves. They want to charge $20.00 for a $200.00 credit line increase (loan) and then charge interest on that every month. Also you can't schedule a payment early or make auto payments like I do with the other cards I have. This makes it easier for you to overlook your payment, thus creating a LATE CHARGE. You can make an "express payment" for a FEE (more thievery). Plus their logo should be banned from use and Capital One should sue them for copyright infringement. Well back in Aug 2014 I accidentally made two payments to my Capital One credit card thinking I had made one of those payments to Credit One. The mistake was easy to make their symbols are nearing copyright infringement. Well when my account with them became past due 35 days I received a call from the folks in the Philippines informing me I was late. I gave them a o hell no! Well checking my records the gentleman on the phone was right. Well I then asked him as I was concerned they would report me as 30 days late on my credit report I asked him if I were to clear this up now would it not hit my credit report negatively. He told me if he cleared it up on the phone now the payment would go thru before it was reported as late to the credit card companies.
This was the one and only time I was late and it was an honest mistake. Well a month later I reviewed my credit report and sure enough they reported me as late. It dropped my credit score 65 points! I have spoken to their customer service, supervisors. All of which is a terrible experience. They lie to you, and are very scripted. They constantly hang up the phone on you and when you ask to speak to someone in America they flat out tell you no. In my case the credit protection, of which I never, never was consulted about or authorized it. It just appeared on my bill. They didn't argue about removing it, obviously, since it shouldn't have been there in the first place.
Then this annual membership. Another sneak in. I wasn't asked if I wanted to renew my membership. $8.50 by 12 months is $102 year. No thanks. I will not pay yearly memberships when there are many cards that have none. So between credit protection and membership fees that is over $200 years. I closed my account today, paid it off and that's it. My daughter also closed hers as well. My suggestion is if you need to rebuild your credit, go to Credit Karma and see what cards they suggest. Credit One is a horrible company and takes advantage of people.

I made my payments via checking account and I decided I wanted to use another checking account. Updated my routing number and so I thought my account number (but I was off by one digit). I had made two payments and had no idea they had not been processed or gone through because of this little mistake I made. Tried shopping, card declined.
So I call Credit One to see what the issue is, we go over my routing and account number that's when we discover the mistake. Update my information over the phone with the representative (who sounds Indian) and I am told to wait 3-7 days before updating my account information online. Don't know why I would have to if I had just updated the information via phone with the representative.
A few hours later, a young woman calls (who sounds Chinese) to do a follow-up call with me and tells me that my account was temporarily suspended but the suspension was lifted. To check my account online in 7 days to make the correct routing and account changes. Today, it's been about 6 days, I log on to my account online to notice it's been suspended and call the 1877 number.
I call the number, tell them the background of the issue, what happened when I called days prior, that I was instructed the information had been updated, to make it was updated and correct on my behalf online... Any declined payments that were made in the future would result in the account being closed, but this ONE time it was forgiven because of the mistake. The two gentlemen I spoke to didn't seem to understand this. The first gentleman was nice and transferred me to his supervisor who sound a bit like him. I was told that there was nothing that could be done about it, my account was closed. I explained to the gentleman the "supervisor" that I had spoken to a young lady who followed up from my first call that the account suspension had been lifted.
He asked me why didn't I let her know about the payments then... I explained that it was a follow-up call, I was under the impression that she was already aware. SHE called me, to follow up. He went on to say that there wasn't anyone higher than him that I could speak to. The account will be listed as "Closed by Bank". My payments have never been late, have always been doubled! I shouldn't be penalized for a mistake. I let him know that my account number has a lot of 2's in the beginning. I left one off. I was not making these payments that failed with ill intentions, it was a simple mistake that I thought was corrected with the previous two phone calls. NOPE! Stay away! They were a good company to restart your credit with. Let's face it; credit card companies who take such risks tend to be predatory for the privilege. We know that going in. But once your credit is established or re-established, it is a cumbersome card to own. One, the cost. You have to pay for the privilege of a credit line increase, even though it is ultimately to their benefit that you have it available to use. Secondly, if you pay your bills off every month and don't necessarily use the card frequently, you still incur a monthly fee, which cannot be paid annually. Translation? If you forget to log in because you know you haven't used the card and therefore have no payment to make, you not only get the monthly fee but a steep missed payment fee and/or a late fee. They won't call you on it for about three or four months and by then, you have yourself quite the bill. Normal cards don't operate this way.
Third, I am denied at points of sale routinely even if I have adequate credit available. Why? They have a random way of deeming whether or not that merchant is a "fraud" or "risk." It gets embarrassing. And online purchases? Forget about it. Fourth, if you do have a problem and need to speak with someone, if you are able to actually GET a person on the line or find them, it takes at least 48 hours to resolve even the simplest thing -- like approving a charge they denied randomly or using your card for travel. And fifth, yes, as hard as it is to find a customer service person, the last thing you want at that point in time is to deal with a person in India or the Philippines who reads you scripted answers to problems they don't understand. I closed this account.

But after talking to the person on the phone come to find out they did have the right info. So this time I paid them off and still don't trust them, so I will be checking with my bank to make sure they only get what they have coming cause they are THIEVES. So to all of you out there do not use Credit One ever. They purposely make you late so they can collect their late payment fee of $25.00 and run your debt to them up.

The next day I check, there's a new Visa number with completely different numbers I have never seen before and a balance completely off from what it was when I received my replacement card. There was ZERO information about this on the account site except for $**account transfer. No pending transactions or anything.
I never got any kind of notice of this. I called the rude rep once again named "John ID#**" and he claims I put in a fraud notice on March 21, 2016 which I never did. He wouldn't relay me any information except for anything he saw on his screen. He claimed I will be getting another card in the mail. For what??? My replacement card was fine. This is the WORST company I have ever dealt with. They even try to charge you for the color of the credit card and continue to call and harass me over a late charge that was NOT late!!! I paid the card off in FULL and when I spoke to a Representative, who can't speak proper English, assured me that all "other" charges like the color card would be waived... Who does this??? This kind of company should be banned from the United States!!! What is happening to our country???

This card disguises itself and attempts to confuse you with Capital One with their logo looking very similar. Unfortunately, I should have been more careful. Once I got charged a fee, I realized it was not Capital One. SO I thought well, I can use it for emergencies, anyways, I always pay before month to avoid fees. Wrong, they charge you interest first day. There is no way to easily cancel the card. For the new year, they do not tell you but they charge annual fee, now in installments in order to get interest every month. Now, they are offering credit line increase, but with a fee. In the meantime, trying to cancel account and keeping account current. I can't pay it because they are holding my access hostage unless I accept the offer to increase my credit. There is a "No Thanks" button, but it does not work. Very shady company taking advantage of those struggling.

Both my spouse & I had accounts with Credit One. We made payments online with a debit card from our Credit Union. Unbeknownst to us, the payments did not go through. Instead of contacting us, Credit One closed our accounts and we could not access our information online. We contacted them as soon as we found out. One person said the account was merely suspended. Another said it was closed permanently. They said that the CU account was "not found" and that we needed a "letter of verification" from our CU. Even though we have since made payments from different sources, they still refuse to reopen the accounts until they receive the letter from our CU!
I recently talked to a "manager" who took our CU information. I know that they can call the CU themselves to verify our account, but they have refused. I explained that we live in a rural area and that getting to our branch is a big hassle. The people we spoke with were definitely outsourced, which to us is so wrong! Today, they called every hour, starting at around 7:30 am. My spouse told them that I was not home, yet they continued to call. I caught the last call they made (spouse said they had just called 10 minutes) and told them that I will no longer do business with them and to quit calling. So far, they have stopped calling. But now we both have "closed by credit guarantor" on our credit reports with a balance still owing and not reflecting payments made.

TL;DR: Crazy restrictions on using the card (that I've never seen on another card), customer service ** with your account (when you can get one you understand). My card was regularly declined when traveling domestically or purchasing online. I called, chose English as my language, verified my identity, and got connected. The first customer service rep had an almost impenetrable Indian accent. I explained the situation, said that I suspected the fraud prevention criteria were too sensitive, and asked them to change it. He persisted in trying to get me to change my username / password credentials even though that wouldn't have any impact on the card performance. Finally I had to ask him to transfer me to a different rep because I was having trouble understanding him. I'm sure it was just as frustrating for him. He put me on hold for 10 minutes and I finally disconnected to call back.
My second call connected to another Indian with somewhat better English - I could understand her and she could understand me! She explained that when traveling or paying online with a website that was not US-based, they needed advance notice or the card would decline. She said I must call 48 hours in advance of the use, and the use would be unlocked for 24 hours (or during my itinerary if traveling). Obviously that's less than ideal from my perspective. I asked her to change it and she refused. At this point I must admit I was irritated. I asked her to create a travel exception for me, that I was traveling to Earth between today and January 1, 2100. She didn't get the joke and I ended up hanging up before she mistakenly did something weird with the account.
Well guess what happened?! My card declined the next day at a restaurant a few hundred yards from my home. When I called, they explained that the rep had placed a fraud block on the card because there was some strange activity. Note that I performed all of the necessary identity challenges, the caller ID showed the appropriate number from my account, etc. So the unprofessional response from the customer service was to put a vengeful block on my account. I'll definitely cancel the card. Why have a credit card you can't use online or in the next state over, which uses the worst possible outsourced customer service?

I have opened that account in an attempt of fixing my credit rating since I have poor credit. I thought it was one of the best and did not much mind all the fees I was being charged since I really wanted to upgrade my credit rating. My payment was initially due on the 7th of the month, and they even tell you that you have option to make changes and choose a new due date, which I did, not knowing that if you make that change, it goes into effect after 2 billing cycle. So anyways I chose the 20th as my new due date and the 18th of the month made that payment. I got charge for late fees and was blocked out of my account online. I really did not know what was going on and processed to make another payment on the 4th of March which did not go through.
However, I used a different account number to make my payment on the due date and when I called them, I was surprised to hear that my account was closed and even though I made a payment that went through, since the one I made before defaulted they had closed my account down and I needed a bank letter for them to reopen my account. How is that even possible? How is that supposed to be a credit card that should help me rebuild my credit if that is the way they process? I think it is doing me more wrong than right and I am very disappointed at their policy and rules.
I have had a First Premier credit card was a year now and despite all they have been working with me on rebuilding my credit back up. I miss a payment with them once and even had another payment returned by my bank for not having enough funds; what did First Premier bank did? Well send me a letter in the mail as well as an email to kindly remind me of my return payment and let me know that I needed to keep my account current. They did not take upon themselves to close down that account without informing me of my misfortune and wait for me to call them and find that out while trying to make a payment. If anybody get a offer letter in the mail from Credit One bank, I strongly suggest to think twice and know that if you ever miss a payment for whatever reason, they will kick you out of your online account and worst close your account without any prior notice. Beware, of them, they will arm more your credit than help you fix it. There is no second chance with them or even giving you the benefit of the doubt.

Just made this account to write this review. Would give them 0 stars if that was possible. I paid my balance off last month and haven't been using the card. They're like there was an interest added on it plus late fee. I'm like late fee and interest on what? 0 dollars? She's like "it doesn't show the accurate amount online. Cause whatever you paid didn't show the remaining 10 bucks and now there's a 10 bucks fee and interest on it..." So my balance is 20 bucks, she hands it to the next rep, she says "It's 21 bucks." I'm like "Ok where are you getting these numbers from?" And then she's like "9 dollars processing fee." So 30 bucks total.
I cussed them both out, told her to waive off the 9 bucks, paid the 21 bucks to never ever deal w/ their fraud ** company again. And it's funny 'cause they found my dad's number (cause I changed my number) and they keep calling him. Within those 30 mins of the phone call, he got 2 other calls from them. I'm sooo pissed, don't ever bank w/ them.

I tried to make my first payment today and was told in order to avoid the 9.95 fee I could pay online. Did not work (after numerous calls they tell me it won't work with a mobile phone). They suggested I call CS and keep pressing zeros until, what, I don't know but two different reps told me to do that. I was hung up on and just like everyone else I could BARELY understand them. Finally made payment after a request for a supervisor (was told there was not one available) was denied. Now after reading all of these reviews I am concerned - very concerned. I thought this company was part of Capital One who operates VERY DIFFERENTLY. I wish I would have read these reviews first! Has anyone heard of a class action lawsuit?

I would like to add my input to the reviews about Credit One Bank. As an introduction, I have been an account holder with them for nearly three years now. After reading a LOT of reviews here, I would like to say that my experience with them has generally been positive, with some cons, as is the case with most any company. I received a mailed solicitation to apply for the card. I'm not certain how anyone could mistake them for Capital One, if they are actually paying attention to anything in the letter. The name or logo is clearly displayed in about three different places, if memory serves. There is an accompanying paper that itemizes the fees associated with applying for their card. I had no surprises there.
I applied online, was accepted, and immediately set up the online services. I do EVERYTHING online as snail mail long ago became a dinosaur for me. I have since made payments to them nearly every week, online, and have only once had them ask for verification of a couple of small deposits to my checking account, so that they could verify that I was who I said I was. I did this without incident and my online access went on uninterrupted.
I find their website to be more than adequate when it comes to seeing what is going on with my account. I have made several purchases with this account, both via direct card swipe and online purchase from retailers, all without any problems. My payments are always credited on the day that they say they will be. Any fees associated with any activity on my account are always right there when the offer is made (credit line increases, second account, etc.). Yes, they always prompt you to try to upgrade your payment to Express, which has a fee associated with it, but I simply opt to make the standard payment each time.
The annual fee is deducted in monthly payments, which starts right from day one. If one pays attention to the account, there should be no problems. I log in at the very least weekly to see what is going on. A lot of the issues that I have read here could probably have been avoided if CLOSE attention had been paid to their accounts.
OK, folks, in plain language, this is a sub optimal way to obtain credit, offered by a company that specializes in lower than perfect credit scores. There are a lot of fees involved and those fees can be expensive, HOWEVER, bear in mind that this bank, as any other, takes a risk when offering credit, especially when that risk is taken on someone whose credit history is less than pristine.
Again, if one pays very close attention to their accounts, the only fees they should incur on a routine basis are the monthly premium to have the account as well as finance charges associated with the current balance. This is not unlike any other credit card issuer that offers credit to low credit score individuals. And those whose credit scores are better need to remember who they are looking to for credit. You will be subject to the same terms as their target customer. If you don't like that, simply don't apply. And as to the company being misleading, again, if close attention is paid to the original solicitation to apply, there is no mistaking the word CREDIT (not CAPITAL), as well as the disclosure of fees associated with the account. Any bank that has fees that expensive is not the only issuer out there for better credit scores. Shop around.
NOW... are there cons? Absolutely. This, however is not unlike any bank whatsoever. There are always cons, whether benign or glaring, no matter who the issuer is. Yes, their phone customer service leaves a LOT to be desired. The first line person you are speaking with will likely just very barely speak English and will talk over you while you try to explain anything. If you do happen to figure out the procedure to talk with someone in the States, they will also talk over you and offer little more than curt and borderline rude replies.
I look at it this way... the vast majority of large companies in the States outsource their customer service. This is simply a fact of life people. Do I feel that sort of practice robs jobs and opportunities from America? Absolutely I do, however this is the way things are done and there is nothing to be done about it, period. Accept it and move on. Also, try giving Dell Tech Support, Quicken Support, or Anthem Support a call, and see what you get for a first line response. It's not going to be much different than dealing with Credit One Bank. That's just the way it is. There is no ability to email them for customer service, which in and of itself really does baffle me since the workforce needed to handle electronic communication is significantly less than that required for personal phone assistance, but that is a choice the bank makes, regardless of how other issuers handle things.
The ability to use the card is somewhat more restricted than other issuers. (I ran into an issue while traveling with using the card at a remote gas terminal. Those will decline the card, however if you make your purchase at the counter, this will not happen... again, the bank's choice, in order to minimize the risk to them.) Yes, they charge very high fees for any service they provide, however as I said before, the majority of these fees can be avoided by simply paying close attention to your account activity.
What it boils down to, in my opinion, is that anyone applying for credit from Credit One Bank is applying to an institution that specializes in offering credit to those whose financial history is less than perfect. This much is obvious by just looking at what they charge just to have the card. Higher credit score issuers will have very few, and generally much cheaper fees, BUT are usually more difficult to obtain credit from for anyone with a markedly less than perfect credit history. I myself have had very little in the way of problems with them, but that is because I am excessively OCD with things financial and keep a close eye on things at all times. If you make your payments early and pay attention, things should be just fine.

I filled out an application for a credit card with this company but when I saw I would have to pay $75 a year, I decided not to continue the application. A few weeks later, I was sent a credit card and it had a charge of $75 already on it. I called and spoke to customer service and told them I did not want the card... but they convinced me to take it if they would reduce the annual amount to $25 and extend my first payment to April 15. I got a call from them a few weeks later stating that my account was in arrears that I would have to pay $25 as late fee but it is still March. I called and got that waived but now I have received another call that stated that I am overdue. Do not trust this company. They engage in criminal activity.

I'm writing this review because I see so many others writing about how horrible Credit One Bank is. I'd like to say that I had the worst credit possible all from when I was 18. I am now 29. Credit One gave me a card when no one else would. I've been trying for the last couple years so I could build my credit back up. They have been nothing but helpful. It's your responsibility to make sure you pay your bills on time. They send you statements to help you but in the end, it's your job to keep track. I've never had a problem with Credit One. They're great as far as I'm concerned. If you can't keep up with your bills don't have a credit card and stop complaining about how banks are out to get everyone. It's a company that's how they make their money! Give me a break.

I opened this account with Credit One for a credit card not long ago. You won't believe this. I am trying to pay off the balance as soon as possible. I recently owed 48 bucks as a minimum due, so I paid 88. Not long after, I paid another 80 bucks. Just yesterday, the 15th of March, 2016, I tried to pay another 100 dollars. This is, btw, all being done online. They would not accept my payment. It said they needed ID verification because I was making a 3rd payment within 30 days. What? Now check this out. It said to verify my ID, they were going to make 2 small deposits into my checking account.
I then had to input the amount of said 2 deposits, into the proper fields on their app. Well, they never made the deposits. I checked thru my bank's automated system and even talked to a bank rep. Obviously, banks are coming up with new ways on how to screw over their own customers. I don't know enough words to convey how I feel on this. Please think hard before you deal with these people. I wish I had known better.

I received the card in November 2015 and the statement for the "one time fee" with a finance charge attached to it the following month. I called, asked to close the account, they refused until I paid the "one time fee", did this and asked to close since I cut up card. Customer service rep convinced me that since I paid the "one time fee" just to keep open and if not used then no balance. 2 week later a new card comes in the mail that I didn't ask for so I cut it up just as I did the first one. Received a call from their collections department indicating I had a balance of $50.38 and needed to pay today. I asked why a balance since I have no card to use. There was a replacement card fee charged to me and then a late fee and interest. NEVER did I ask for the replacement card and in fact destroyed it when it came in the mail. It took me 3 phone calls (2 hang ups) and a supervisor to explain the charges and to actually shut the account down. This bank is a joke!

This company violates numerous Fair Debt Collection Practices. Bogus charges, refusing to close accounts, calls before 8 AM and after 9 PM, more than 2 calls per day, talks to others about the account who answer the phone. My account has been paid in full (even though most of what I paid was bogus) and they refuse to close it. They won't even speak to me by phone. They tell you to mail them a letter. This way they can continue adding bogus charges. My attorney is now handling this for me. Anyone else who would like to join in on this please feel free to contact me at **. Credit One Bank is the excellent route to go when attempting to build credit - or when no other bank will accept you due to poor or low credit scores. This company has actually helped me in so many ways that words merely can't explain. When I had first started using credit one, I had only $300 credit limit and I had to pay for not only an annual fee, with an high interest rate, but for every credit line increase I had gotten. But one good thing about this card is that the creditors treat you according to how you "respect" the card. Pay up consistently, on time and you are guaranteed a credit line increase twice a year - not once a year - as the other card companies do you - but twice and the increases go up as you continue to pay faithfully.
Now as I said earlier, I had initially paid for those increases, however as my credit scores boosted up & making regular on time payments with credit one - I currently do not pay a dime for those increases. Finally: The benefits are coming through - as we do right by the card. "Thank you Credit One for actually believing in me and looking at how I am treating the card". They move past your credit scores is the point - while other creditors may limit their observations to our scores without realizing that sometimes one's history with a credit account has not been updated to the credit bureau. Credit one goes past that and looks at how you are treating their cards. Great Move! I am impressed by their automatic credit line increases. It's worth the annual fee, just because you are promised the credit line increase.
The only downfall is that it takes time for your payment to hit the account on available credit. Also, you can't make a many payments to the account within a month as you can with other credit cards. Your payment to the account is limited. I personally do not use the card a lot because I have other ones I can use with a much higher credit limit due my credit scores improving. So the high interest rates on credit one is not hurting me any. I can do a balance transfer to this account and get it paid off much faster. The best advice for those who are struggling with the interest rate is to have a good enough credit score to ensure that other cards are in place to eliminate the fees you owe on credit one. Paying timely prevents the interest from going up.
