I had this card for 1 year and I can't wait to get rid of it. I was blocked out of my account for nearly a month for trying to purchase train tickets in Europe (from an actual train company so they were completely legit). This is AFTER I notified them that I would be making purchases in Europe. I called them to find out what was happening. They not only put my card on hold, they literally blocked my access to it. You cannot email or chat with them. You have to call and speak to someone in India who is prompted to tell you the same thing each time you call. I honestly don't think they fully understood me because they never took action to rectify the situation. They simply said my account was being reviewed by a third party and that I was not allowed to contact the third party.
I was given the run-around not once, not twice, but 3 times. I was placed on "hold" numerous times (and disconnected a few times) and all at the same prompted moment so I assume they put you on hold as part of their routine. When asked to speak to the manager I was given someone who told me the same thing as the original rep and still did nothing, told me they could do nothing, and told me to wait for the review to be complete "for my protection". The final time I called, the "supervisor" hung up on me.
I will be paying this card off and canceling it as soon as I am able. This is not a quality company. Not to mention you have to pay a large fee just to get the card, then they give you a very low credit line ($200 in my case) which you can later increase with a hefty fee if you have paid your bill on time. Caveat emptor. Build your credit elsewhere.

I was sent a credit card of a 500 limit. When I went online to pay my card off through my bank they told me that my routing and account number didn't exist. They as in CREDIT ONE suspended my account. They didn't tell me about the problem until the fees started adding up. I was very upset that they were always hanging up on me. Made me very concerned and suspicious about their business techniques. No one there spoke good English, and I always asked for supervisors. They responded there were no supervisors available. These people need to be investigated immediately!!! There is fraud going on with Credit One and purposely.

My credit card info had been stolen before last Christmas and my credit card was over my credit limit. I called Credit One and PayPal where someone went Christmas shopping. Anyway PayPal didn't hesitate to give me my money back and Credit One didn't either. But Credit One's computer charged my account twice for the stolen money and now they are wanting me to pay for money that was stolen from me and gave back. Ok it doesn't make sense to me but they put it on there and now I'm over my credit limit again because of them, and they are trying to rob me to pay for their mistake. I don't care where they are from. Right is right.

I had this credit card for many years. I used it to help build up my credit. When I decided to close the account, I called in and paid the full due balance immediately over the phone. I started getting calls asking for additional fees and was told they would fix the error when I informed them that there was no balance. They have now reported me late on the Credit Bureau for $74 after charging me $35 for each of the last months for late fees. They said they would call back from the corporate office in Vegas within 48 hrs and rectify the problem. That was over a week ago. Do not apply for this card. Go to Merrick Bank, First Premier or Capital One. Their fees are about the same but the customer service is great and they will accurately report your performance.

I had an account with Credit One Bank. My payment was 1 day late due to the mail and I got a call from someone at Credit One asking for all of my account information and wanting my credit card info. He was extremely rude and pushy. I said due to all of the fraud going on I didn't want to give him my info and that I would rather just immediately call the company back and talk to someone. I was being very nice just hesitant. He got very upset and demanding and cancelled my account and put a block on my online access. This is terrible. I now have a balance that I need to pay off with no access online to pay. Which is fine, as I will mail my payments by check. But these people that work for this company are very rude and demanding with no flexibility. Do not get a credit card with these people. :(

I opened an account with Credit One Bank and I paid off the $82.00 and never stressed out about the card never arriving. I finally got the card and registered it and got $150 credit increase. I know I won't use it. My credit is in the low 500's. I'm trying to build it up little by little. It did go up 100 points in 4 mos. I think Credit One rules. Customer service will treat you nice as long as YOU are nice.

Yesterday, called Credit One on my Visa's due date to pay card balance off in full. Of course it's overseas, and it was a woman who kept asking me to repeat the card number and my debit card number over the phone. It costs $9.95 for a phone payment but figure it was worth it if it has a 0 balance. She assured me it had gone through. Called this morning, and went through my account info, and still had a 2,500 balance, and now a $35.00 late fee. Seems strange to me. The customer service person yesterday didn't understand English enough to get my information correct, and yet every phone payment in the past goes through without problems, and I can use the following day. They wouldn't waive my late fee, so it was my balance, the 9.95 phone charge, plus 35.00 late fee. Read all the other reviews, and will watch for suspicious fees and charges. If it happens I will dispute them, and report to the FTC and other agencies.

This is the absolute worst credit card company I have every dealt with. They automatically charge you a $90 fee when you open the card. I used the card once and they froze my card without notifying me. This happened more than once. Every time I called to fix it, no one spoke English. I lost my job and notified them I was going to be late on my payment and I received no less than 15 phone calls a day from numbers all over the country hounding me for my payment. It was so bad and harassing I had to end up blocking numbers. They charge you $10 to pay your bill with another card on top of your interest. I have no nice words to describe the trouble this company put my family through and I would never recommend them to anyone. BAD!

I've had this account since Nov '15 and have only successfully logged in online once. Such a scam. Customer service is rude, they don't speak English. I regret getting a card with Credit One. I'm terrified from this as I'm in the rebuilding stages of my credit. Please help!

Got a credit alert regarding new account being opened. I have fraud protection and there should not have been any accounts allowed to be open without verifying my information. To my surprise, the agent confirmed that I indeed opened an account online the day prior and was approved. I asked that account be cancelled and when I tried to get information on the details of account being opened, i.e. address etc, the agent would not assist and would not get someone to assist. This is very poor. Account should not have been allowed to be approved without my consent in the first place. Bad business.

Well as many, I am trying to rebuild my credit. Somehow I caught all the "good reviews" on this card stating people have build their credit back up with it (All bad credit due to missed payment. I have never owned a credit card before so this was my first). I could not get approved for any other credit lines such as Capital One so I went to Credit One as a last resort. I received the "Pre-Approved for $1500 credit line" and received my credit card with a $300 limit and $75 activation fee. At first I was like what the hell is this? But I figured it was my first credit card I would flow with it and learn the full process. It's been about 3 weeks using it and has been going fine. I keep my balance at $0 always paying it off.
Then out of nowhere there are 9 charges from a different state I've never even been to!!! I contacted customer service and while I don't like to call people idiots, these idiots are idiots. They pretty much answer each question from a scripted line and provide no personal help AT ALL. Had to make multiple phone calls just to try and figure out what was going on because they had no idea how to help. Also were very rude in the process. They sent my fraudulent charges for investigation claiming they will close the account. Come to find out more charges occurred. My online account was suspended and was back up. Come to see there are many charges that are not mine, cash advances pulled out, and a big balance. The customer service rep had nothing to say but I will get a new card and my account will be close. Will be? You guys claimed it would be closed a week ago. Still in the process of having it being resolved.
I've caught some representatives lying in the process. One claiming she did not know any supervisors as later in the conversation she admitted to knowing her supervisors but did not want to tell me. Another claims there were not fraud charges until after looking at my account. And they were rude back to me. These employees have zero sense of customer service, sad to say it's because they're from poor countries earning a living. But do you trust these people with access to your credit line and social security number? ** Credit One!!! How is this company still in business?

For some reason my online account keeps getting suspended. When all they tell me I have to send in the mail or fax to them my driver's license and my Social Security Card. They are charging unclaimed and unexplained monthly fees that are not associated with the card. Try to pay it off and close out the account and they won't close the account again until I send them a copy of my driver's license and my Social Security card. Like I am going to do that with Identity Fraud.

Got my Credit One card which I thought was Capital One. Got my card and disclosure which didn't match the disclosure I received with the card. After reading their disclosure I did not activate my card. I called today Sat 3/4/16 to close account, 400 credit line, 100 year renewal fee. Tried to get me to agree to 50 year annual fee. They told me it will help credit... I told them I have a few cards no annual fee, nice limit. I don't need this. I wrote this because they told me account was closed. We will see... Also told them "I FEEL INSULTED."

They have reported a credit card account on all 3 of my credit bureau reports, which happens to be a negative account, that does not belong to me, never has belonged to me, nor have I ever had an account with this bank. I have disputed this 5 times now with the bureaus and have contacted Credit One Bank numerous times and they insist that I do have an account. I have requested proof from them to show this and they have yet to provide this to me. As of March 2016, it continues to report & I am contacting an attorney to follow up on this for me and will sue them for whatever I can.
This has been going on since October 2015 and it has been a freaking nightmare. They are foreigners manipulating people and literally lying to the bureaus. I can't believe NASCAR has even allowed them to put their name as a sponsor of the sport. NASCAR needs to investigate their sponsors more closely. I highly recommend anyone that has trouble with them, go straight to an attorney. Any written or verbal contact with Credit One Bank goes unanswered.

I was surprised reading all the bad reviews on the CREDIT ONE credit card. I have had this card for a couple of years with no issue. I pay on time with bill pay with through my bank. They receive payment the next day. I check my statements when I receive them in the mail plus I do regular online checks of my acct. I have been over my limit & never received a call. I would add the overage in with payment. I have never had a need to speak with customer service. This is a credit building card so interest is high & there is a fee for credit line increases. I get increases just when I need them, school time & Christmas. This card has been good for me. I am working on paying off balance but intend to keep acct open.

First off I received the offer, Sat at a table with my boyfriend now husband, with a lighted magnifying glass and we read online at a time to make sure it really was no annual fee. The offer was pre-approved, etc. I do not actually pay my bills, he does. He is my payee because I am disabled. I have been in and out of the hospital so much he does it. He has paid 10$ fee to make sure payee t is on time then they charge a late fee. Plus they charged us 19$ for an authorized user card then waived it because he was my husband. They waived it then charged an authorized user card fee again the next year. They offered us a credit increase then hit us up for 14$ and change charge. If we asked them for the increase I would get that. But they offered us an increase because we pay good etc. naturally good customer get increases over time on all my cards and I do not pay a fee.
The other problem is every time I call the system takes me to India over VOIP. It's delayed and all messed up cause it's not fast enough or secure so I only want a representative from the US to touch my stuff. So I ask every time to be transferred to a US representative. Then I get blind passed to a manager in India again who knows nothing then they give an "I can't transfer you to a American rep" then it's 48-hr call back time. Then a supposed manager from the US with such a thick accent from India I can't understand him, so I am positive because when asked if in the US he would never give "yes" an answer. I get too frustrated then he must have after I did some internet digging for any number at all in the US that was in US. Then I got there and was given 10 shades of shady etc. like it's archived etc. 3-5 days.
Then wait they say it was over the phone when I applied and all cards there have an annual membership fee. When on their own website it say 0$-99$ annual fee. I asked for her name etc. I multiple times had to impress in her mind part of my complaint is when I ask for a representative in US that India Vendors have to transfer me to the US representative. She gave the excuse "only if we're open here". I had been working to get a US representative since a little before ten AM PST they are on hour faster. So I was calling during the time frame that they were open. Then was given the excuse we had a meeting for then a pause 2 hours. She did actually call back the next day not having my written application copy, she then said it was over the phone.
Well when over the phone they have a special code with letters and numbers to type to accept you pre-approved so get that number and match it. Instead she insisted on all the fees I and my husband went over with a light magnifying glass and would not apply or accept fees to have a credit card that has annual fees. I finally asked for her manager because by now I had spent 1.5-2 hrs multiple times passed around like the party favor with no help. I explained that the company has probably spent more money than the annual fee with all the calls equipment and different representatives etc. that if she couldn't correct it and make it right then I need someone that can. She kept trying and talking over me etc. I wanted her manager so why discuss it with her when she already gave misinformation because not all accounts have an annual fee or be charged 19$ for an authorized user card for their spouse.
One more issue when they waived the 19 the year before because we were married and two "MEN!" The girl in customer service could not wrap her head around it! She gasped and then ask me to verify husband then at first said it couldn't be done etc. I explained to her yes it could be add women when they marry a man right. Well since I am primary you just add him the same section you would add a woman spouse to and fill it in. I even had to fax my marriage license etc. That is not prejudice it's just ignorance and lack of training. I say this because in our own county the court house reps had never did it before when we filed it and when I name change etc.
After all these things Lisa did ask me to hold I said "ok for her manager I was on hold" then poof click. She didn't call back and she didn't have her supervisor call me back either. Then today I received another call from a rep from India and a call which I answered and then she was from Las Vegas in the same office as Lisa. I explained about being hung up on by Lisa yesterday and she didn't call me back and I was on hold for her manager so process for good customer service would have called me back right away, make sure I didn't hang up and/or pass my number etc. info. off to her manager team to call me back. So I told the rep I do not want to start from scratch I wanted Lisa's Manager. She asked me to hold and I said "No!" Why should I spend more of my time have the manager call me back.

Now I like Indian people, but sometimes hard to understand their accent in English. I get a statement with $259.00 of fraud charges in Florida, Ohio. I live in California.
It has been 70 days and they tell me it takes 60 days for the fraud dept to clear the charges. I call every 2 weeks to see what is going on. Still being shunned on. I've had this card for about 5 months now and just last week there were fraudulent charges on my card. I called the company right away to inform them, they told me they will cancel my card and send a new one as well as open an investigation into my account which he stated would take no longer than 90 days. I said "ok" and we hung up. A few days after the initial call I decided to call again to ask about how the investigation process works, as this is my first time being a victim of fraud. I needed peace of mind and just to know that they would be doing everything they can to make it right. I asked the lady what my balance was before all the fraudulent charges and she asked me if I had received my new card, when I told her "no", she just told me that I needed to wait until I get my card and activate it before she could tell me anything! That made no sense at all.
I then told her about my concern about the balance being over the limit being reported to the credit bureaus... Her response was, "don't worry about it. Once you activate your new card we can answer all your questions." This made no sense to me as I had already confirmed my identity with them and my questions were general questions. I asked to speak with a supervisor but she basically told me that the supervisor would not be able to answer my questions either. I asked her to explain why and all she could say was, "ma'am I understand your concern but I cannot answer your questions until you activate your new card." I again asked for a supervisor and then she hung up on me! I immediately called back and the agent who answered the phone passed me on to a supervisor right away. The supervisor answered all my questions with no problem.
I'm really concerned about the fraudulent charges on my account and how this company will work to resolve the issue. I don't feel like the representatives have any clue the seriousness of an account being compromised as they are not from the USA. Every time I asked about how they handle it with the credit bureaus, they didn't seem to have a clue. This is not how a customer should be treated when their account has been compromised. A company should have knowledgeable representatives who can speak English and are able to understand what is going on, especially in a situation like this. I'm stressed enough as it is from the fraudulent charges, they shouldn't add to that by providing customer service representatives that have no knowledge on this issue.

After having this account for several years, I had one returned payment (twice because they resubmitted the payment). As a result my account was suspended, meaning I could not log on to even view statements and charges, update my mailing address, really basic stuff. During this process, I was also relocating from GA to CA, so I did not clear it up right away. Anyway, this also happened to be the same month in which my card expired and was to be renewed.
Well, of course because of the aforementioned, they closed my account with no notice. I'm not really concerned about that. The balance is small and I have other CCards. But my issue is that even after bringing the account current they still will not unlock my account. This means I have to call in every month to make a payment, for which they try to charge me 10.00 to make. I cannot log in to verify payments have posted or that credits have been applied. I finally got tired of arguing and just told them to mail my statements. So now this will be the only credit bill statement I have sent to me through the mail. Never mind that our mail where I live often gets sent to neighbors and only God know where else.
I could go on and on with the poor foreign customer service, the lies, fees, etc. The card company was a joy when I first got it, but I don't know what happened. I have a neighbor who also has noticed the changes and has many of the same complaints about fees and such as many of the others on this site. This is why I am not upset they closed the card. But this bank is a mess and needs to be cleaned up.

On the website, tried to click on link for my FREE credit score. It kept taking me back to the first page of Credit One's website and kept asking me to log in again and again and again. I was getting dizzy from the circle I was going in! Called in to customer service, carefully explaining the problem with their website and the jerk with a very thick Asian accent kept telling me that their website was "running fine." I kept asking him why, when I clicked on the FREE credit score link, it would keep taking me back to Credit One's page to log in, over and over again. He then hung up on me.
Called in AGAIN, patiently explained the same problem to yet another person with a thick Asian accent. By that time I finally asked for a supervisor. I was on hold for 14 minutes and then my call was switched to their PHONE TREE. Called in yet again, another strong Asian accent, explained prob; she said she would get the supervisor, and then HUNG up on me. I am through with Credit One!!! They have HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, right up there (or down there) with COMCAST. I am now going to write to the president of Credit One and see if I even get a response. Probably not. I applied for this card about a year and a half ago, thinking it would help me improve my credit score... It did the exact opposite. It seems like no matter how much I pay I am still in the hole. I recently completely paid off my card, hoping I could cancel my card after that and to my surprise they charged me a $6.00 interest fee on purchases (I haven't used this card in over a month) and they charged $8.25 for the "monthly annual fee". I didn't know there was even such a thing as a "monthly annual fee". So the balance is completely paid off and now I still owe $14.25??
I have looked everywhere on how to cancel this card and nothing works! The customer service is super rude and really act like they have no idea what is going on, all they know how to do is collect money. So if anyone has any suggestions on how to finally get rid of this card that would be great! Although my card is completely paid off nothing has changed on my credit... I need it to change, fast!

My account went into collection in early November. I made a payment arrangement with the credit card company to pay off my bill in exchange for them sending a letter to the 3 credit bureaus asking for my file to be deleted. I paid off. They never submitted the request. I called back in mid-December and a supervisor said they wouldn't delete the file and she didn't believe I was promised that. She indicated that they would pull the audio of the conversation and get back to me. They never did.
I called back in mid-January and spoke to another supervisor who indicated that they would submit the request after they heard the promise to delete being made by their representative. Two weeks later, nothing. I called again on 1/28/2016 ref#** and the supervisor reassured me that she would submit the file and I had her confirm to me that she would put that in the phone notes-she didn't.
Two weeks later, I call again. The representative informed me that they would not ask for a deletion but the account shows "zero balance". I requested to speak to a supervisor and that supervisor John (probably not his real name) ID#** said he would ask the main office if they could ask the credit bureaus to delete the file. I told him that I had been assured so many times by different supervisors that my file would be deleted that his promise to "ask" was insufficient and he was breaking a contract I had with their company. At this point, I am out of patience with them and I feel like I am being lead along in hopes that I will just let it go. They have engaged in deceptive practices and they have mislead me or downright breached our contract numerous times.

This card comes with an annual fee (paid monthly so you will always have a bill). I cancelled and closed this account today and will be ever so glad to report to the three credit bureaus that this account is closed. I will NEVER go with them again.

My dad had passed away so I did an express payment on my Credit 1 Card of $500.00 so I would have funds available to book a hotel and rental car. They took a 9.95 express fee from me so my funds would be available the next day. The money was immediately extracted from my bank account. The next day the money was not available to me, when I called I got someone from India who told me they would be available later in the day. When this didn't happen I called again, I got a very rude representative once again in India who then told me I didn't do an express payment even though I had a confirmation # and a screenshot. His rudeness escalated as he continued to argue with me until he hung up on me.
I then checked my account online to see that they refunded the express fee payment of 9.95 but kept my 500.00 not only screwing me out of getting a hotel room and rental car but also taking my 500.00. I was already in a difficult situation, as of 5 days later now and my money is still not available to me and I just don't have words how much worse this made things for me but I will never forget it. I received the card in Oct. with a $325 balance paid $25 in Nov. My balance with up to $350. I spent $50 and paid $75 in Dec. Somehow my card limit went up to $550. I end up spending $500 for Christmas. My first paycheck of the new year I paid my balance completely off. Went to use my card again to only find out it was suspended. Called Credit One Bank and I was informed I would receive a letter in the mail stating why my card has been suspended. The letter stated that I need to send proof from MY BANK that the account I used to make credit card payments was authorized BY ME. I send in letter from my bank. Only to be told it wasn't the right account which I know I made payments from this account. So I send in MY 2nd account info.
Now they're saying they need verification from MY BANK that MY DEBIT CARD I used to make payments belongs to me and I authorized payments with payment amounts and a bank teller's name and number. What a complete ripoff. I just want my $75 annually fee back. This card is a scam. I will be watching my accounts closely for any unauthorized payments. Stay away from this card.

This is the worst card I have ever had!! It lasts me not even one month and it has impacted my credit very badly. They gave me a card with a credit limit of 500 and told me that they would charge a $25 membership for the first year. I made a payment online right after I got my card because I usually don't want to carry a balance and then I used the card at a grocery store and online in order to repay it with my debit card. Therefore, I made another payment with the same debit card I used for the first payment. Next thing I know was that I could not access my account online anymore!
When I called the bank, I got a very unpleasant lady asking me to send a letter from my bank conducive to verify my bank information and she asserted that it was the only way for me to access my account again or that I would have to pay the entire balance off. I asked her my balance and she had me pay even more than the credit limit they gave me, since she charged me almost $9 for an express payment. This was the worst customer service I have ever seen... They not even try to give you a solution or to find a way to solve an issue. It is just like you are not a customer and that they are the one doing you a favor. I had to pay more than $480 overnight!!!
The most insulting part was that I was able to pay off the entire balance with the same card that they denied twice and suspended my account for. It was just an affront! I mean just for $9... We can give you that money every month for free Credit One! In addition, I called 2 days later to check how I would receive a money that a store credited back on the card and a supervisor assured me that I would get it back on the card I used to pay them! I told them that I did not need a check because I had to go overseas the next week. Again, nothing, just lies... Another way to try to get money from customers or to get rid of customers. Moreover, he assured me that this would not affect my credit at all. I just checked my credit and this situation had me lost 13 points on my credit score...
They reported to the bureaus that the card has been "cancelled by the credit grantor." For a supervisor, this is just a shame and for me, it is just not fair at all! I carry 2 different American Express and 2 Debit cards from different banks but never had to deal with such a thing. So, I would never recommend this card. An advice, if you (Credit One) are currently outsourcing your customer service, try at least to get a company that could bring a positive input to your bank because this is not a way to retain or to gain new customers.

I have a system with paying my bills and I don't throw bills away. I called customer service and finally got a hard-to-understand foreign voice on the phone. This person was anything but pleasant. She asked for verification of my account. She asked for my card number, 3-digit code, my name, my address, my birthday, my email address, my phone number, etc, etc. After honestly asking me '10' different verification questions I asked her why she had to ask me so many questions. Again, she was snappy and rude even before this hundred questions session began.
I told her that I did not receive a bill so how could I know the amount or date due. She essentially said it was my responsibility if I didn't receive a bill. Now I have a BIG scar on my credit report because of one account. My point is that it's easy for a credit card company to fail to send a bill so that they automatically get to charge $25.00 late fee. I am done with Credit One!! I was trying to rebuild my credit after my business failed and Credit One is a vulture waiting up in the trees. Also, I set up an online account for all my credit cards but Credit One is impossible to sign on. I KNOW the sign in name and password but they refused to allow me to sign in to check my account. I didn't get any answer from them but being pressured by making the payment for my bill they couldn't answer my first question and I could barely understand them. I asked to speak with a supervisor. He's already given me a hard time by saying there no supervisor then the lady answer and said she's the supervisor but she was yelling at me already to make a payment for my bill. (I'm not sure if she's the supervisor) So I asked the same question about my bill that still haven't been answer yet and she hung up on me.
Credit One really have poor customer service and not a good company. I had made a payment for my bills and I can't access to their website. But this is not right at all if they can't do their job right as a customer service and giving me a lot of runaround by speaking to three of them and still didn't answer my question and I don't deserve to be yelled at by a supervisor if she is a supervisor. This Credit One really need to be shut down.

They never said there would be a $75 annual fee on the credit card. It appeared on the first statement. I paid my first bill in full. I'm still being charged interest on purchases daily, even though I pay my balance in full and on time each month. Try getting someone on the phone who speaks English - it'll never happen. And, they're rude and obnoxious when you do get someone on the phone after the automated runaround. I'm paying my balance in full this month and closing the account. They got the fee and recent interest from me, but they won't get another dime.

Charging late fees when none are there and trying to put payments for months prior instead of the current month paid. I was checking on the status of my credit card payment with Credit One Bank and I saw that even though I made the minimum payment required before the due date that I was still charged a $35 late fee. When I called the collections line the lady I spoke to was not able to read my statement as she told me that my credit card was over by $85 when in fact it was only over by 68.42 and that I had to pay $85 to make my account not overdue. And I told them and it clearly showed that the payment was made on time and for the minimum amount. I was then told "Oh no the payment that you made was put for the December payment that you didn't make". I informed the woman that I had indeed made my December payment and that their system did not allow me to look at any of my past statements or payments.
I was then transferred to a supervisor who told me the same thing that I owed $85 when the amount overdue clearly was not that and the minimum payment due at this time is $50. I feel that they are trying to scam people out of money and are not a reputable business as their employees are extremely disrespectful as the first gentleman who called me today when I told him I was waiting on an important phone call and could not talk but would call later abruptly told me no I needed to talk to him immediately and I told him I could not and he told me again that I had to so I hung up. There is no professional training at this company and not one person there that I have spoken was able to clearly communicate with me in English nor were they able to read my statement that was in front of them and communicate back to me.
At this point in time I feel as though no matter how many payments I make they are going to keep coming up with this crazy stories of how they process payments and how despite the fact that it clearly states that I made the payment on time I was STILL charged a late fee and told I have to pay $85 right away to make my bill current. I should have listened to some of the reviews from people who had this credit card when they said they were scam artists and would charge these ridiculous fees for no reason. However at the time I was without an income and they were the only one who would give me a card. I regret ever getting this card and will never recommend it to anyone in the future.
To top it all off you can't see any of your previous statements or payments so there is no way to prove that they actually took your payments! I told them I had my bank statement to show them and unless I could prove that they accepted it then they were not going to take my bank statement. Rude people who can't read or write English and are total scam artists. Run away from this card as fast as you can. I was hard up for money and fell for it and I urge anyone else to run as fast as you can away.

Over the holidays I was on vacation and made a payment via my smartphone. I attempted to double check what the minimum payment was and was unable to access the online. I made the same payment I had made over the last 3 months which was slightly over the min. payment. However, they had increased the min. payment amount by $13.00. I never received a courtesy but I reviewed my account once I returned and called immediately. They waived the late fee because of my excellent payment history. Yesterday I made a payment to Credit One credit card. My husband's debit card was broken, so while awaiting a new one I was paying my acct once a week. On my 3rd payment I was informed that for security purposes they would be making a deposit into my bank acct, and that I must check my bank acct to see what the deposit was for and then inform them before they would post my payment. I called their customer service and asked why all the sudden after taking my payments this way for several months. I was all the sudden a security risk. And I asked if that payment could be recalled and I would use my debit card instead to make the payment. I was told "Too late, basically too bad, so sad." I called bank asking if a deposit from them had been made. Nope. And I'm still checking online, nothing.
I asked lady at bank why they would do this. She said it's because they don't want you to pay because they lose interest. Well they're going to lose more than that. I will pay off this horrid card as soon as they will let me and cut it up!!! Seems as though these companies that screwed us in 2009 are worse than ever. Predators is all they are. We bailed them out and our credit went to crap due to the economy and when you try to fix a problem they were partially responsible for they make life miserable. All I wanted to do is make a payment. I have had my Credit Card hacked three times now in two months by someone on the East Coast (NY, NJ Area), I live in Washington State! Credit One allows CHANGES to the account via telephone without confirming ALL of your personal information. RED FLAG: When someone calls to change their address to across the country and then says they need a new card overnighted to the new address because they lost their card, would you not see this as a Red Flag?? At least CALL OR MAIL a confirmation to the original card holder's phone number or address. The sad part is I told the company to not ever change my address again without written consent or a password for the account, yet it happened TWO more times after the original fraud case.
Customer Service is based out of India so good luck understanding anyone. They stick to a script and keep repeating themselves when you are speaking with them. Very frustrating! The last woman I spoke to last on the phone knew NOTHING about Credit Scores or understood how having another person steal my card and go over my limit could take an effect on my other credit. YES they reported to all of Credit Bureaus that I was over my limit all THREE times and NO they did not retract it even though it was reported as fraud. I had a friend that had similar issues with Credit One and when she paid her card off and went to close her account they never ended up closing it. Months later she received a bill and they charged her for renewals and late fees and she had no choice but to pay them again. MAKE SURE AND GET EVERYTHING SENT TO YOU IN WRITING!!! The APR is absurd at 24% for someone with such a good payment history especially considering there is NO OPTION FOR AUTO PAY. That means, if you have 1 incident, or an emergency, or ANYTHING happen at all you better make sure you have WIFI from that hospital bed because you must log in and make your payment! It's really set up for you to fail. I have cut the card up at this point because it's just absurd. There are plenty of other options for reputable secured credit card companies... However, the morning I was leaving to return home, the card was declined, so I called them up to see what the problem was. I was told that I was behind on a payment of $80, I said "what?"
The $80 was for the annual payment, which was crap. Of course I was speaking to Manila, New Delhi or some other foreign country. Today after explaining that I could make a payment the 5th of next month they magically were able to come up with a number that I can afford to pay on that date but said that offer is only available until next week. I tried to set something up where they can deduct a certain amount automatically for the next month, but they do not do that. They are a gross and typical representation of corporate banking. As stated in their agreement, there was a $75 initial fee, so the available credit was $225 which I've used regularly on a monthly basis... Paid the balance(s) in full monthly or always much more than the minimum(s) to save interest charges... I never do Express Pay, just standard payments that have always posted immediately and funds have ALWAYS been available in 3-4 business days...
Generally, I've had a very good experience with this card (e.g. "you get what you pay for" -- it's not like AMEX or Capital One cards, their interest rates are higher (though you can avoid them by paying the balance(s) in full each month) and the starting credit limits are much lower, but they report accurately and timely to the credit bureaus so that's helpful in having another source for positive credit scoring, right?). They do offer credit limit increases for a nominal fee, but my experience was I got the increase based on an excellent payment history -- for 9-10 months l ALWAYS paid on time and carried no or low balances and recently was rewarded with a significant credit limit increase just before the holidays, perfect timing!

I was connected to a foreign call center where someone tried to talk me into keeping the credit card for approximately 20 minutes. I told them no, I would like to close out the account, and eventually they said they would and the call was concluded. Today I received an email from the company stating I had a message waiting for me on the account. It turns out they never closed the credit card account. Upon further review online, many other consumers have the same issue with this company.

It took 3 months to get a new card, my old one expired. I had to call and give them my address at least 4 times. I was told in November I wouldnt have to pay a bill until January by two different customers service reps. I even questioned them and they assured me of it. Then I started getting calls saying I was late on my payment. I asked to speak to a supervisor, who I know, think is just another employee, and was told they dont know why I was told that. I can tell you why because my account even had a due date of 01/16 at one point. I ask did they keep calls on file and was told no, but it says calls may be recorded when you talk to the reps.
Had the card for three years and was treated like a bum when I was told something by their reps and I never had a late payment till then. I was hung up on, put on hold for long periods, lied too. One rep asked me my name and address 3 times in less than 5 minutes. I could really go on but whoever owns this company obviously doesn't care about this because I see its not just me. When you get this many complaints it somethings wrong!!!

I applied for the card thinking it was Capital One, not Credit One. I am unfamiliar with this company and called shortly after realizing they were not the bank I thought they were. In hopes to cancel my application as I did not want the card. While my wait time was minimal, the representative that answered had such a thick accent, I could barely make out that his name was Marco. I explained that I wanted to cancel the application as I did not want the card. When he asked for the name on the application, I told him my married name, but the apparently had my maiden name on file. I explained that was not the name I used for the application, and he told me it didn't matter, that was the name on file and I couldn't use my married name. I then asked to get rid of the application and I didn't want the card, he gave me a bit of a hard time asking why didn't I want the card.
I explained I thought they were another bank, and that it was very misleading of them to use such a similar name and near identical logo. He told me he canceled my application and when I asked for confirmation that it was canceled whether by email or confirmation for the call, he told me there was no way to provide such information and that I shouldn't worry because it was a recorded line. I expressed that credit information is very sensitive and I have every right to ask for proof that the application was cancelled. He again told me it was cancelled and he couldn't give me a number. He was extremely rude during the whole call and I felt it's only right to let others know of such horrible practices.

When I send my payment certified, it posts within a week. When sent via Priority flat rate, it posts in about 5 days. I also consider my due date to actually be a week before my ACTUAL due date to decrease the risk of a late payment. If you're smart, this card can be a good stepping stone to building/rebuilding your credit. Use only frequently enough to keep the card active. Pay via traceable mail with a money order. I received the offer for this card in the mail today so naturally the first thing I did was to vet it online. Funny thing I find about the consumer reviews: 99% of all the reviews on websites other than the Credit One site like this one are hesitant, tentative or downright negative about everything from fees to customer service. But on the Credit One website, the reviews are 99% positive. Now that tells me that either people who have negative experiences with Credit One don't go there to report them for one reason or another but rely on independent gripe boxes like this one or Credit One is selective in the reviews they publish. Adding a couple negative ones here and there to balance out their reviews and seem to be playing fair. They had a total of 1323 so that's a lot not to have more negative reviews show up.
On the other hand, there's a lot of negative experience here without too much positive. But this Consumer Affairs website has no side to choose so I'm deciding not to indulge in this card because I haven't talked to Credit One over the phone about all the claims, fees, restrictions, realities, fantasies, etc. I do have a card with the similarly-logoed Capital One and have had good experiences.

Have had this card for OVER 7 years. I paid my balance in FULL in August 2015. Thought I was finished making payments unless I used the card again. Card has not been used since and it's December now. So back in October I thought let me check my account just to make sure everything was okay. Right off the back I noticed it said I had a past due balance. I'm thinking WTH. So I called to see what was going on.
They explained that I had missed a payment in September but how can that be if I paid the card off in August. They informed me that there was still a balance in September because month I get charged at annual fee and protection fee. Since I've had the account for so long I had forgotten that it was in the agreement. I told the rep I would just like to cancel the card mainly because the interest was so HIGH and it is dumb to charge extra fees when the card has a 0.00 balance. The rep told me "no no no we don't want you to do that. Let me transfer you to our account specialist to see if we can get those charges taken care of."
Talk to account specialist who I couldn't understand AT ALL!! Had to keep asking her to repeat herself. So in the end she told me that they would waive the late fees that got added on and take care of the the charges from the annual and protection fees, and my account would be at a 0.00 balance again. And I WOULD NOT BE CHARGED THE ANNUAL AND PROTECTION FEES UNLESS I USED THE CARD AGAIN which I never did. So in November I decided to check my account just to make sure that my account was in good standing. WTH!!! Now I have a balance of 82.00. So I give them a call. I explained what was going on and what should have happened on their side and never did.
So they decided to send my account over to another department and they told me it will take 48-72 hours but then my account should be back at the 0.00 balance. So this was Friday so I decided to give them until today which is Thursday. Checked my account online to see. STILL AT 82.00. Give them a call, rep informed me that the request had been DENIED. WTF. When was I going to receive some type of contact to let me know when it was denied??? And why was I lied to back in October??? I would have just cancelled this account in October if I knew I was going to get screwed. LIARS!!!
So the rep got EXTREMELY rude, "what do you want me to do??? Cancel the card???" I said "yes, cancel the card because I was lied to and now I'm being robbed." Rep said "ok it's cancelled. Is there anything else I can help you with??" Then hung up. Let me remind you I'm a very calm and polite person. I NEVER raised my voice and I was never rude. You think since I've been with them so long they could see that I've been a good customer. But I guess they just don't care. Oh well their loss and my mistake to think there still is honest companies in this world.

When I called 28 days later it was said my monthly billing cycle had incurred $50 dollar penalty! Which was waived after a 30 minute conversation! But with another fee to receive payment! Some odd reason, in very poorly spoken English the representative continued repeating the wrong balance after it was supposedly waived!
Of course it was repeated over and over that I was the one that was not receiving the info being communicated or the point that was being made! Then I gave all my contact info (email). Never received anything! After three weeks, went to their site, set up the account. Paid it off! Including the yearly fee that I was unaware of when signing up with a credit card company to try and help my credit score! So I elected the Standard payment the next click, give me your checking info for a Standard payment! What!!! Now Credit One has all my debit/checking info. This makes me very uncomfortable! Lastly looking at their site, the email info area showed columns of how complex and detailed info I was receiving, the green light was on and the info was flowing. Hummm??? A few clicks later wow! I'll tell you how; they charge an 'annual' fee of $8.25 plus interest on the fee every month. I informed them that annual meant yearly and that they were charging me a MONTHLY fee. I then said that I wanted to close my account unless they waived the fee so the lady transferred me to another lady who tried explaining to me that the fee is what keeps the operation running.
I said, "That's **, the interest that I and other customers pay is what keeps you and everyone else paid." The lady said, "Fine, if that's what you want to believe," and then said "you know, we do report to all three credit bureaus and I will go ahead and close out your account." So, I recently lost my job and decided I would use the card again until I get back on my feet. I have been waiting over a month to receive this card! I was told it would take 7-10 business days. On the 10th day I requested they re-send (they said it was probably lost in the mail).
Around the 5th business day on the 2nd re-send I called to make sure they had the correct address on file. Turns out they did not so they cancelled the 2nd card and re-sent. A few days later I called to confirm they had the correct address on file. Unbelievably the address was STILL incorrect in the system!!! How is that even possible?? After I had an absolute fit on the phone the agent said he would rush ship it to me so I would have it in 3-5 business days. You’ve guessed it, I still haven't received the card so I call requesting more information. The agent told me it was sent via FedEx this time and provided me a tracking #.
So I call FedEx to check the status. FedEx tells me they have been attempting delivery at the incorrect address so I ask FedEx to update it. They are not allowed to change the address because it is a credit card but would be able to if the sender can update it. So I call Credit One yet again to request this of which a supervisor tells me they are unable to contact FedEx because they "don't have the phone number" and mailing address updates have to go through a "process". The supervisor then went on to blame me stating that I was the one who updated the address incorrectly (which clearly I called in and the associate typed in the incorrect number) but said he could mail it out yet again. I told him don't bother and hung up. What an exhausting ordeal. Please save yourself the headache.

THEN required me (by letter) to provide a utility bill, ss number (proof/card) and a DL copy in order to validate or finally "approve" the account. They approved for a $300 limit, the least. However, with the credit I currently have, this was acceptable to me. Sent it all cert mail to them, and then contacted them by phone to ensure they received it. They received it BUT - denied the application for credit score!
Could this NOT have been declined in the very beginning at the time of application on their website BEFORE such sensitive verification information was required for them to "approve" the account?? They initially said I was approved by phone during the call I made after receiving the letter - that they just needed the verification documents for verification purposes ONLY, NOT for the approval itself - because supposedly the approval had already been completed. What a TOTAL waste of time and such a risk of personal information misuse/abuse. Their offers are intentionally misleading to the public and I'd never apply for this card again even if I had perfect credit.

I see a lot of people having trouble with the website at Credit One Bank. I do not know what the problem is, I have been a COB credit card user for over 8 years, with zero problems. You can make a standard payment at zero cost, even on the day your payment is due. It does take a few days for the money to be added to your available credit. But, I always get credit for the day of the payment and no charge. I have never received a late payment using the COB website. But, I did get a late payment once when I mailed a payment and it was 1 day late, they reversed the charge, when I called. I started with a $500 credit line, after a bankruptcy and now have a $2,325 credit line.

I received this offer in the mail -- no fees, no activation fee, just $25 a month, supposed to have a $400 limit to start. Said would get card within 7-10 working days. 2 weeks later, no card. I told them to cancel, after fighting with them for over a week. About a week later the card company contacted me ask me to reconsider because they assumed the card was lost in the mail and give them a second chance. Like an idiot, I said okay. Took another 10 days to get the card, it didn't have a $400 credit on it, but a $301 line of credit. I tried to set up an online account to pay online, it kept saying the 3 numbers on the back was not valid.
When I called them they said I was doing something wrong, it was a good number. I never did get it to work. First bill came supposed to be $25, was for $50. I called ask what the $25 was for, said activation on card. I said "you already took that bringing the card down to $301." They told me no, that was other fees that took it down. So now they’re wanting $50 instead of $25. I said "no I won't make but $25." They said "no has to be $50." They wanted my bank account numbers or pay them $25. Since I don't deal in checks, all my business is done through my bank when I go to pay bills, but I was getting one of those prepaid to do business with this company. So they didn't take my $25 for first payment, now they say unless I give them my bank account info that I have to pay by check. They have run a bill up to $419, all fees. Well keep running it because my credit rating dropped over 100 points when I used this card. Whole thing is a scam.

I received a bill which contained the amount of a transaction I had made plus a "previous charge and a $25 late charge" on it. I was baffled. Upon calling, a representative informed me that, that was for the yearly activation fee of $75 plus some addition amount totaling $81. I inquired how the hell am expected to pay a late charge for a bill I did not incur. I decided then to pay off the bill and closed the account. To my amazement I was charged a $9.99 fee to pay the bill. I was also told that they do not use emails when I requested a confirmation of payment. Do not trust this company. After about 7 days I noticed it didn't come out of my account, so I called to see why and they told me that they hadn't received payment because the number I put in was one digit short. Now, when I did it, it posted the payment and led me to believe everything was cool (most systems would let you know if you didn't put the number in right), it didn't, because I didn't. Anyway, the lady told me to make another payment now, and I did but told her I shouldn't be charged a late fee because I was now paying after the due date, but I had originally paid before the due date. She guaranteed me that she would waive any late fees. Don't you know that I got a late fee, then today the account is closed.
Now a few months ago I had made a payment online and didn't realize until a few weeks later that the payment didn't go through and they had closed the account. So they had me send a letter about my bank account info (had to mail letter), took a month, had to pay off the balance in full and then a month later they opened the account back up. The reason I even called this time was to make sure that didn't happen again and I'm in the same position. I got in touch with this agent who was very rude and just brushed me off saying that my application was processing and I need it to wait. Just today I decided to call again to find out why haven't I been contacted if they need it identity verification.
When I called I spoke to a lady who told me that they needed me to mail them a copy of my ID and social security card to a P.O. box. What bank is doing business through a P.O. box? I then call back and ask the next agent if he can give me some information about the bank because I was not so sure that it was legitimate given the fact that I was given a P.O. box to mail important documents to. He's gathered my information and told me, "Oh your application has been declined." I said, "What do you mean? I just talked to someone who told me that it was still processing." He said, "It just came through as declined but you can apply again in 3 months." I told him I will not be reapplying again because I don't believe that this is a real credit card company.

I asked why it would have been closed immediately after receiving an email saying I had 2 attempts, but he couldn't give me an answer. Then he proceeded to tell me that I entered my checking account information wrong and that was why it didn't go through. I explained that I had just verified it, and I had indeed entered it correctly. I am an accountant for a living, so I deal with numbers all day long and know how to verify! Then when I asked if he could verify what account number he had on file he said he was not permitted to do so.
