Last month and now this month, I received excess calls about my wife's account. By excess, I mean 2 and 3 calls per day from Credit One. I checked online on Friday 18, 2015 - payment was not showing. I called back on Monday 2/23/2015 and it shows it being paid. My wife pays her bills with a debit card and that account shows it being paid on 2/18/2015. Their agent and her supervisor said they made no calls. Something is wrong and it needs to be checked out.

I paid my bill off last year and tried to cancel my card. They say I still owe them money even though I have not used the card. The main thing that upsets me is they call me on Sunday morning while I am in church. They have done this the last two Sundays.

Credit One, your website should not be so difficult. All I wanted was to see my statement and there is nothing that shows it. I called and the lady says I need to call Customer Service so I waited. And Nothing! Finally she said, "do you want something else?" I said, "Yes, customer service." She said I would have to call back. WHAT? OH MY GOSH!
So I hung up and had to call back and the guy I talked to this time would not keep his mouth close to the receiver, so I asked him 3 times to please talk louder. I am not hard of hearing but I could tell the receiver was slowly moving away from his lips because after the 3rd time of asking him to speak louder he was fine, and he never raised his voice which told me he just wasn't keeping the phone close to his mouth. I then told him I had several questions but after the 1st which he couldn't answer, he was ready to hang up. I said, "Please wait, I said I had several questions." After each question he was again ready to hang up. He didn't help me with any of my questions. Each time I had to ask him over and over again and I had to explain each one a multiple of times.
Credit One not only does your website stink but your customer service is even worse. I talked to TWO people with simple questions and neither could help me. I am really big on customer service and I have NEVER written about anyone or any company. But when I get two people who didn't seem to care enough to help me and the guy who couldn't seem to understand anything I was asking, it's frustrating. I don't have accent so I don't know why he couldn't understand a simple question. Actually, I only got 2 questions out before I finally hung up because he was already telling me he couldn't help me because he can't ask for my pin number. WHAT? I never ask him to do anything that he would have needed my pin number. I doubt if I'll be calling Credit One very soon and now that I know I can't get my statement online. I guess I won't be visiting that either. Thanks for nothing!

A Business called HEALTH DIRECT on my Visa card billed my account for an unauthorized charge. I called immediately to have the charge removed. I even tried to call twice at 1-818-303-9260 and was hung up on. When I received my Credit One Bank statement the name and number were different than on the billing statement. I sent them a copy to Las Vegas Office to complain. I got no help to help resolve my problem.

I have been with Credit One Bank a little over a year now. The annual fee is ridiculous, the customer service are not customer service people. What I mean by this is they aren't there to help you, just collect more money from you. Anytime you need help, you might as well sit on hold. They never call you back when they say they are going to. Charging fee after fee. This is supposed to be a credit card company that helps you, not eats you up with charge after charge. I don't care how desperate you are, go elsewhere. The only reason I still have them is to maintain credit history. It sucks to have to pay a monthly payment basically to them to keep my credit score. Close the account yourself, but that goes against you. It never will close because of the charges monthly. UGH!

I got charged an annual fee upon receiving my card. I got charged finance interest every month even though I paid my balance right before the billing cut off. Someone spoke to me from the customer service that they count the interest from the time of the purchase. Is this really a legal transaction? I don't get it.

Thought I was applying for a 2nd Capital One Card. I have great credit but wanted a separate card for vacation and I just like them. Credit One even uses their logo. Received card and just after activating it I saw that I was wrong. Yes I know I should have paid better attention. Since I had never heard of them I wanted to see other reviews, I was scared that's for sure. While talking to them cancel the card Jennifer (if that was even her real name since she had a very strong accent) kept calling me Ma'am. Really! I even corrected her at least 10 times. They said I could just try it out, NO THANK YOU! It is supposedly closed. Will check for the next few months to make sure. I now have the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau on speed dial just in case.

This is THE WORST credit card company we have ever been with. We were charged for not even using the card. I called customer service and freaked out on them. Could barely understand the representative, but I managed to FINALLY get my point across. You're in America. Speak freaking English!!! As soon as we pay it off, we will never get a card with them again. I'm charged interest even though I pay my minimum payment on time. Every month. I'm not a fan of Credit One Bank. At all.

There are so many different types of charges they continuously add to your account. They raised my limit from $300.00 to $600 and then charges me $25.95 to do so. For the last 2 to 3 months I've been having problems even logging into my account to review it and/or make a payment. Everytime I try it brings me to a page where I had to enter information to apply for another card, which I do not want. Everything I click on, even the contact us link, brings me to this pre approval page. I have been unsuccessful at logging in today due to this. Even if I click on the space to enter my login name it automatically brings me to this page again. I do not want another card through this company, nor will I ever.
The better business bureau seriously needs to look into this company and shut them down for good. The only way to contact credit one is either by mail or by phone, which is a joke when you try. There is no online support like most cards and companies have. I would never recommend this card to anyone, and the year I've had it, my credit score has been the same, if you use the card it makes your score go down significantly. I believe every credit one customer should be refunded all fees ever charged to their account as they continue to add different one and they're always different prices.

This is one of the worst credit card companies to get a card with. Their payment cut off time is unfair to the customer, they don't even take in to consideration if you're on a different time zone. I tried making a payment the same day my payment was due and they gave me a late fee. There are no options to help the customer. No automatic payment feature, no mobile device feature and their online service sucks. There is a fee for everything and when I say everything I mean EVERYTHING. The customer service is horrible, the annual fee of $75 was placed on my account. Didn't even have the card 2 weeks after I found out my payment was late which I'm never late on a payment, couldn't be waived. Just for future, people looking to establish credit with a helpful company don't go to credit one.

I made a payment of 200 dollars at the end of January and they "lost" it saying that they sent it back to my bank even though I have nothing showing that they sent it back. Then they made me pay them 310 dollars to be completely done with them even though my limit was 300 dollars and the lady told me she would not charge me the one time fee even though she did. I will never deal with them again. I got an attitude from each person I talked to and I will be telling everyone I know to never use this site. My credit is completely shot because of them!

Most credit cards don't ever charge interest if the balance is paid in full every month before the due date. I am angry that I'm getting charged these fees. Should I take them to court? I have a Credit One Bank Visa. I attempted to make payments online, however, Credit One bank claims that my Bank returned payment. However, my bank, a well known Credit Union, claims Credit One Bank has never, to date, submitted my online check for payment. However, Credit One Bank's customer service in India, keeps informing me that my Bank is wrong. However my bank has provided a print out that shows no request for payment from Credit One Bank. It has been impossible for me to remedy this situation, especially since Credit One Bank wants to blame everyone expect itself for whatever computer, internet, etc., error occurred, and the fact that one cannot get anyone in the U.S. on the phone, at Credit One Bank, which is beyond my control.

First and foremost, nearly every applicant receives a $300 credit limit. This by itself reduces your credit score because the limit is so low. Secondly, Credit One immediately charges $75 from the $300, leaving $225, which also reduces your credit score. Finally, since interest is compounded daily, it is next to impossible to close the account. In fact, it took two Credit One Attorneys to determine the final balance on my credit card. They continue to damage my reputation and my credit even after the account is closed and paid in full, and after losing in arbitration against a consumer. Their contact information is ** or **.

I got a Credit One card and was making monthly payments till they charged what I feel is higher interest than what we negotiated. I was in the army years ago and I am now disabled. I only get paid once a month. When I set the card up they said they would make the payment due on the day I got paid which is fine but they never did. I called into discuss switching my due date to my payday and they refused. They called me and asked me to borrow the money from a relative. I explained that I was raised in a children’s orphanage and have no family.
They have called me, not able to speak or hardly understand any English at all, and repeatedly told me that maybe I should consider selling the stuff in my house. I was told twice that I should "Do the right thing" and start by pawning my tv, my stereo, etc. They won’t switch the pay date to my pay date, so I’m getting late fees, an interest charges. I explained that if they wait till my pay date I would pay the bill in full, not the minimum due. I was threatened to be reported to the credit report company and I would "suffer on my credit score if I did not pay immediately.
Hell with it. Report me then. I’m not paying them to harass me and tell me to pawn my possessions and threaten me. I don’t care what they do to me now. I cut my card up and changed my number. I have another credit card that is fair and courteous. If you look me up on Credit Karma you will see I have never missed a payment, and am very responsible when I am respected as a normal customer.

I damaged my credit in my late teens/early twenties. Fast forward 6 years and I realized I needed to work on building my credit. Credit one bank gave me a chance. I got a small credit line and ALWAYS always always paid on time. You have to be diligent. I checked my account weekly. I never had any issues paying online and I never waited until the last minute. Customer service agents do have accents but I was always able to understand them and they were helpful and polite. This card helped me A LOT. I now have American Express cards and Discover cards in my wallet, thanks to this little starter card. When the time came to cancel it was maybe a 5 min phone call. They tried to keep me but were not overly pushy when they realized I was set on cancellation. I would recommend this card to anyone rebuilding their credit. Read the fine print. YES there is an annual fee. YES the interest rate is high. That's the price you pay to improve your score.

The first thing that upsets me is that they charge me $9.95 a month to pay my bill. I call and I speak with Glenn. I tell him I want to pay $150. So he says his usual "Along with that, you will have to pay $9.95 to process this payment." I then told Glenn "well then we can just end this phone call. I'd rather pay you nothing than to pay to pay my own bill." He then tells me that he was able to waive the $9.95 for me. Now usually I would pay online (Which I believe is free) but every time I try to pay recently, it tells me to call customer service. My belief is that they locked me out of my online account so that they can charge me $9.95 to process my payment.
I told Glenn 5 damn times that I needed my payment taken out in 2 days when I get paid. He assured me that the $150 flat payment would be taken out Saturday. I had a feeling he was full of crap. I hang up the phone and check my account and see that not only did he draft out the money now (leaving me with an overdraft fee and a negative balance in my account) but he charged me the damn $9.95!!! My payment taken out today was $159.95!!!! I am so aggravated.
I called to speak with someone about this and her response was "I don't have the verbal authorization to discuss the account with you" (being that my husband is the primary card holder but I'm on the account as well). I said "SO... You have the authorization to take my ** money but you can't discuss my account with me??" She kept interrupting me, telling me to have my husband call back. I told her that my husband works 16 hour days in a rock quarry. He doesn't have his phone at work so he cannot call. I still owe them $150. They can send me to collections. IDGAF! I have plenty of other credit cards who don't treat me like dirt. I will not make another payment or phone call to these low lifes! So ** You Credit One!!!

I saw the offer on the internet with no fees. Low interest rates. When I ordered it, some other things came up and I started reading of an 85 dollar charge every year. So when I received the card I cut it up and called them to make sure it was not activated. They said it won't even show up on your credit report because I did not activate it. Then within a few days I receive a bill for 81.25. I called and I did get her name and # and she said “no, it was not activated.” I asked then why do I have a bill for this when it was not activated. She said, "That is just sent out by the computer, just ignore it because it shows here you never activated it."
I became worried for some reason at 1 am and decided to check up on them. To begin with it does show up on my credit report with a 0 balance. How can that be if it was never activated? It can't! I mean who does this, and every time they call it's some person from India or something. But when I call them I can get in contact when I need to.
And also like my other credit card companies, if you submit a payment you can go back online yourself and cancel it. This is not the case with Credit One Bank. So Credit One Bank has an ingenious way of getting over on ppl by charging a late fee to your acct if you don't make a payment by a certain time on your due date rather than making it on the due date itself. I was charged a late fee 6 of 12 months in 2014. I didn't notice until Jan 2015. Just wondering why my balance didn't seem to go away since I only use the card for 2 recurring bills that's less than $40 per month combined. Customer service swear they can only waive one of the fees. So now I'm stuck paying them $125 in late fees even though I made the payment on the due date each month.
This company isn't for the customer! They charge you for every little thing. You get charged for a replacement card, a credit limit increase, an annual fee, just charge after charge! I got this card when I first started building my credit and don't really wanna take it off because it's better for your credit to keep long standing accounts. They avoid being contacted. When I asked to cancel my account, on more than one occasion, they avoid, refuse to help and direct you elsewhere to those who happen to be unavailable. Fees continue to come out of nowhere and then they charge late fees for fees. This is a company you should avoid at all costs. Predatory at best.

I saw this company CREDIT ONE BANK online and applied for credit card on December 17, 2014 and was approved immediately for $500 upon receipt of my credit card-approximately 10 days later I received the card. I began to read the disclosures and realize that this company charged exorbitant amounts of fees. I Immediately Called the company on January 4th, 1 day after activating the card and told them to cancelled the card for various reasons and that I had not made any charges on this card and that I wanted them to notate the account that the conversation that I was having with them was on record.
I then immediately went online to the office of the Comptroller of the currency (www.helpwithmybank.gov), filed a complaint. January 12th received a letter from them stating that they would investigate. 10 days later received a letter from credit one stating that my account was $0 no money was owed and they were closing the account. Yeah let me just state in closing if you have not use this card but you have only activated and you have every right to have this account canceled without any damage to your credit for paying any money at all to this company. Next time please read the fine print-- shame on me and shame on you. I would be willing and more than happy to help anyone who needs help, who has the EXACT situation I put my self in.

I received my first bill from them which I paid in full. Not needing the card I decided to just keep it for emergency situations between paydays. Then a situation arose where the card was needed and when I tried to use it the transaction declined. I contacted Credit One to verify why this happened especially since the amount I was attempting to charge was far less than the low credit limit they had set on the card and no one could give me an answer. I would not recommend this card to anyone whether looking to rebuild credit or not.

Worst company to deal with since I landed in America from Asia: A few words to Credit One Bank:
1) Speak proper English. Your communication skill is one of the worst that I have ever come to deal with. You need NOT to finish college or graduate degree to learn how to speak English. And you need to understand that when you speak/talk, it is more important to let other people understand what you say clearly and logically (Please read this sentence through slowly and carefully).
2) Respect your customers. By that, means, you LISTEN and CARE how they feel, you are here to offer "reasonable help" by caring them because of your service, NOT to "take advantage of them" DELIBERATELY at every second, every minute and every circumstance.
One more thing I came to learn today from this bank in America. I mean, I'll take it as a serious lesson.

At that point I cancelled my credit card and asked for a paper bill so that I could check out my fees and I would start paying them off.
That was in Nov 2014, it's Jan 21, 2015 and I'm still waiting for the bill. They call me about 5 times a day demanding money and being very rude. I keep trying to explain that I want to see that bill and that I'm not going to cheat them out of their money but they tell me that's just not good enough. I received a very rude call this afternoon. By time I received the statement my payment was past due and a late fee was tacked on. I had contacted customer service explaining the situations and how I had not received a statement before first payment was due. Like so many other who have posted here, I got someone who could hardly speak English. I had asked to speak to a manager and was placed on hold for over 30 min. then hung up on. Frustrated, I just went ahead and paid late fee and set up paperless. Since then I have had no issues until here recently.
I am disabled due to upper back chronic pain and on several medications for pain. And in the last years I have developed nerve pain in my legs. The doctor last month started me on a medication that kinda messes with my memory to a point. I had made a extra payment on my card of $20 a few weeks back, meaning to make the min. payment of $25 on the 7th as usual. Last night (the 10th of the month) I woke up in a panic, I had forgotten, due to side effects of new medication, to make my min of $25 on the 7th. I got up in the middle of the night to get online to make payment praying that there wasn't a late fee. Well guess what? There was a $25 late fee added to my balance. I went ahead and made the $25 late fee but it is saying I still owe $5 min payment. When I got up this morning, decided to try and get a hold of someone to see if there is anyway to set up a auto pay, so that this doesn't happen again. I could not get a hold of anyone beyond the computer giving me several options then repeating. None of the options was to talk to a real person. I also had clicked the email notification option but did not receive an email reminding me that my payment would be due.

I just cancelled my credit card that I have had for less than 2 months because I believe their marketing to be deceptive, bordering on fraudulent. I responded to their "No Annual Fees" offer to later realize that they have an $8.00 per month fee instead after the 1st year (doubtless buried in the fine print). There is also a $75 initial fee charged (In lieu of the annual fee) for opening the account. The up to $1500 credit limit of course turned out to be $500 making the other fees in my mind usurious, particularly as a ratio to my $200 of actual purchases. I never received an initial statement so they charged me a $25 late fee which they did however waive. I asked them to at least pro-rate the initial fee for the less than 2 months that I had the card, I am not very hopeful though. I loath deceptive marketing and companies that employ it like Credit One Bank need to be called out for it.

I have had this card now for three months. Three weeks after having the card, I started to receive phone calls telling me my payment was due and I needed to express pay with a fee of $9.95 so my payment was not late. I explained I had initiated the payment through their website for $100. They said they did not get it and I need to pay right now, but according to the bill, I still had 10 days before payment was due. I reluctantly gave in and gave them my debit card information and made a payment of $100. It took 5 days for that payment to be processed and then three days later, lo and behold, another $100 came out of my account for the online payment I originally made. HUMMM??? So I just forgot about it and moved on.
The second month, I thought I would try the online payment again, this time for $75.00. Then the phone calls started again - 7-8 phone calls a day while I am at work, mind you. I have now had the card for just under two months, and the due date of the payment is at least 10 days away. They tell me again they did not get the payment and if I didn't pay right now for a fee of $9.95, my payment would be late! I refused. It was several long aggravating conversations to get this straightened out, but to no avail. They refused to send the payment through, which in turn took me over the credit limit and late FEES, FEES, FEES!
I believe this is a deliberate attempt to get whatever they can, so now two weeks later, I go again to initiate my payment for $168.00 and I cannot do it. The website says temporarily locked out of my account, so now I must pay $9.95 for express payment. I call and was told now that none of my payments were ever processed, they were all sent back. What??? My Chase bank account clearly shows that the money was taken out, so now I pay my $168.00 and want to close my account. I call back 2 1/2 weeks later and want the payoff amount of the card so that I can close the account. 4 different amounts are given to me in less than 1 minute's time and I have them process the payment and pay $9.95 to immediately process the final payment and keep getting the runaround and I ask several times to process it and close it. Well they ran the card as debit and guess what? They are holding the funds and refuse to process it.
Chase Bank was contacted and they told me the money is there for them to take but they are only holding the amount against the account and to immediately contact the state's attorney general. They believe they are doing this and refusing to close the account so that they can continue to collect interest and other fees. I hope this is resolved soon. They are breaking the fair lending laws by not processing payments, etc. BEWARE!!! This is the most fraudulent credit card company out there. This company needs a class action lawsuit filed against them for taking advantage of hardworking, good citizens. I will keep fighting on!

My interactions with the company's representatives offered no consolation or offer for reducing any of the fees even though I called three separate times to settle the account. I had a Credit One Bank credit card. The fees were crazy, but I paid them. When I closed the account I talked to a rep and paid what she told me I owed. I asked if this includes all fees and interest. She said yes so I paid the total off on the phone with them. I then received my next statement on a closed account stating that I overpaid and there was a credit. I called to ask about the letter stating the account was closed (which I still don't have) and the credit. They informed me that there is no longer a credit because they made an adjustment on my account and the credit has been removed. They said that there must be a delay in the processing from when I got the total till when I paid it. Two problems with that... first if I delayed I would owe more money as the interest would go up and not have a credit. Second I paid on the phone while talking to the rep.
I spoke with three different managers about this. All just said the same thing that they adjusted the credit and total due on the closed account. The last manager finally stopped talking. I had to ask three times if she was still on the phone. All she would say is "yes" and then not talk anymore. It concerns me that a company can give their clients a total dollar amount due, not be accurate with that dollar amount and over charge them, and then keep the overages. Not sure how that is even legal. I advise NO ONE to use this company. Customer service is horrible, and you can't get answers to questions.

They are calling me to this day to collect 540+ today.

Received a real credit card (not one of those fake ones trying to get you to apply) in mail from this bank. Was very surprised, as I did not apply for credit from them. Information with the card said I had to call to activate it. Since I did not want it, I shredded it for security. Several days later, I received a statement in the mail from them for the $35 annual fee. Called customer service, first person hung up on me as I was looking for the account # on the statement. Second call, after a go around for a bit (basically the lady was not listening to what I was saying), I finally got her to understand this account was not opened with my permission and needed to go completely away. She did eventually claim to have closed the account and gave me a reference #. I will be monitoring my credit report to make sure it disappears.

They ask for an employee, but we have 4 employees with the same name (very common white girl name). I have told them repeatedly that until they can tell me what department, I can't help. The agents argue with me and are rude. In addition, one agent just offered to GIVE ME THE EMPLOYEE'S SOC NUMBER to verify which employee it was. This is so illegal! I don't know what else I can do, but I am really worried for the employee this affects since her personal info is out there.

These people are ridiculous and pushing. They will consistently call you for absolutely nothing when your bill is all paid up, they will call you and ask you to pay the full balance so that they may increase your credit limit. They lied about the fee and told me it was only going to be 60 dollars. When I received my bill I paid a hundred and seven dollars before I even used it. These people are terrible in the company every time you try to cancel your card trying to give you the runaround about the card. They do not help you with anything and sometimes when you try to call they do not even answer the phone.
I strongly urge no one to use them ever. This company should be shut down and honestly everyone should be refunded their money back even using them before. These people are shameful and they take advantage of anyone going through a tough situation by manipulating them and saying that they can give them a high rate of credit. When merely, they may give them $300.00 limit but they charge in the end is around 700.
I had a $500 limit and when I tried to cancel my card they said will just increase it, I did not agree. I hung up and call back in a bit to have my card the deactivated again. When I was trying to deactivate it, they asked me for my alternate phone number and I stated I did not have one and they said that I did so. When I began to say another number to contact me on, I realize they were just fishing for more information. Then they asked me about my email address, an alternate one than the one on file, stating I gave to gain this, was a lie. They also took the liberty of asking me where do I do my banking, not the bank itself but a particularly location. I honestly felt as if they were stealing my identification to sell it. They have returned my money order stating insufficient funds. How the Crap does that even happen???? It’s not possible for it to be insufficient funds!!!!!! I called and spoke with customer service. They are rude and refuse to let you speak to a supervisor. I had a person call from there yesterday morning. She was very rude and yelling at me and hung up on me. When I tried to call back moments later it said the office was closed!!!!!! If the office was closed how was she calling???????? 10 attempts later miraculously the office had opened and I spoke to someone who sounded like they were from India.
She refused to answer any of my questions... refused to let me speak to a supervisor and hung up..... Numerous calls later I finally get through to someone after I use a different phone number to call from. They could not tell me why the money order had been returned but I was being charged a late fee because my payment was past due. I told them I would be paying my balance in full and I want this card cancelled and that I would be contacting my attorney about this matter. This is ridiculous how this bank does business and treats customers. She hung up on me. I am going to my attorney’s office this morning to bring this bank to his attention.

I've had this credit card for about 6 months with no issues. I pay on time, never been charged unaccounted for fees. Then I get a message that I qualify for $250 credit increase for a $19.99 fee, so I accepted the increase and was OK with the fee. A week later, my card was declined for a $16 transaction. I tried it again somewhere else just to make sure it wasn't a mistake and it was declined again for a $5 transaction. So I went online to try to figure out the issue since I KNEW I had available money on the account. The website said my account has been suspended.
I called customer service, they barely speak English so I'm assuming they are outsourced to India. Nobody can tell me ANYTHING about my account other than someone from accounting will call me in 4-6 hours. I called them back after 8 hours and they told me someone will call me back in 48 hours. I asked to speak with a supervisor and they would not transfer me to anyone. That Saturday a "Supervisor" called me to tell me someone will call me in 48 hours. I asked what was the purpose of his call if he couldn't assist me, he said, "Because you asked to speak to a supervisor." Monday I called customer service back to try to figure out what's going on. My payment is due on the 15th and I can't go online to pay it, so what am I supposed to do? The guy from customer service told me he could take my payment over the phone if I'd like. SO let me get this straight, my account is suspended for some unknown reason BUT you are willing to take my payment over the phone for a fee?! That makes no sense.
It has been a week since my 1st call to them. Nobody has called me to explain why my account has been suspended or what is going on. Customer Service barely speaks English and they act as if I'm annoying them! I wish I would have read the reviews on this company before accepting their pre-approved offer. I would have NEVER accepted the card. Now after reading the reviews, I'm afraid I will have a difficult time closing the account!

This credit card preys specifically on those with little to no credit, poor credit, or building credit. They offer a high APR (23.9% + monthly periodic rate 1.992%) in which you pay an annual fee of $100. However, if you enjoy being nickle and dimed, then this is certainly the card for you. If your card is lost, stolen, or you just need a replacement, you must pay for a replacement card ($25). If you want a credit line increase, you must pay a fee ($10). If you want to pay your bill by phone or on their website, you pay a fee ($10). If you are late by a couple of days, then you are subjected to multiple harassing phone calls, beginning in the early morning until late at night. And forget about customer service. Not happening. However, the most disturbing feature offered by this lovely bank from Las Vegas is that they begin charging the aforementioned ("reasonable") interest THE DAY a transaction is posted. Not 28 days, or 30 days... The very day. Which, I did not realize until I read the terms and conditions of an offer they sent for me to open a second line of credit.
I'm not sure if this has always been the case. The document outlining my APR agreement was updated in August of 2014, so this might be a new policy on their part. However, I opened a credit card with them years ago when I was first building credit. My credit is currently in the mid 700s and I've gotten significantly better offers. However, will not close this account because it is my oldest standing line of credit. So, I get to pay $100 a year to a company whose business model is exploiting people with little other credit options. My advice to anybody considering opening a card with this bank is DON'T. If your credit is poor or non-existent, then try credit unions. Credit One Bank is a predator.

Worst company to have to deal with! I had just barely opened an account with them when my card was stolen and dozens of charges were made. First thing is the horrible lack of fraud detection on this card. One place the card was used totaled 12 transactions in the matter of 15 minutes, all ranged from $1 and change (several at this amount) up to $30. A couple other stores had similar circumstance. Their response? "How are we supposed to know how you use your card?" Are you kidding me?! One of my other cards that were stolen was shut off after 3 transactions were made at the same store in a 2-hour period. Yet, this card didn't question several stores having numerous transactions in short periods of time? Ridiculous. I have had to call numerous times obviously to try to handle this, I'd say easily 12 times so far and every time I'm usually bounced to at least 2-3 people all asking the same questions. To add to this frustration, out of the dozens of people I have spoke with, all are foreigners, which is fine, however, what isn't okay is when you can barely understand any of them and they make you repeat half of what you say. For the most part, every phone call doesn't get me anywhere and I usually hang up lost and with my questions unanswered. This card is seriously not worth the hassle, no matter how bad you want a credit card.

Just like everyone below me, I decided to start building my credit. Got an offer in the mail for a pre-approved credit card with a credit limit of $300.00. I've been with credit one since August of 2013. It is now December of 2014 and I'm ready to close this account completely! I've been charged hidden monthly fees. I let it go after the first two months because they claimed there was a monthly fee just to have the account. Then I would make my payments ON TIME, and they'd return my payments. The last two months, they've returned my payments that I made on time, then charged me a late fee for both months, and then closed my account "temporarily". Who the hell closes an account temporarily.
So I spoke to a representative on the 25th of November, just five days after I made my payment. I told them I made a payment and they responded with "It hasn't been processed yet". I then call back on the 28th of November, and they tell me my account has been closed because my payments have been returned and I need a validation letter from my bank that I use to make the payments with in order to make the account active again. There was a late fee and a "returned payment fee" charged to my account.
Wait a minute, so I'm getting charged fees because your organization made a mistake? Anyone catching on to their game yet? I finally finalized it when I demanded to speak to a supervisor. At first I was told, "Ma'am the supervisor is going to tell you the same thing I did." "I don't give a ** , where is your service? When a customer demands to speak to a higher authority there should be no questions asked!" I spent 40 minutes on the phone with a supervisor to ultimately three way phone call with my banks (Wells fargo). When Wells Fargo confirmed my account that I have been using to make payments was active, the supervisor from Credit One played stupid claiming, "Oh I am so sorry ma'am, it was a system error on our end." So she waived my late fees, return payment fee, brought down my balance to what it originally was when I first attempted to make a payment. She kept apologizing for the inconvenience - I wouldn't buy it.
It shouldn't take a confirmation from another company in order to prove something that is legitimate. First telling me there is no way they can make any payments without a validation letter, yet a three-way phone call was good enough. I would never recommend this company to anyone. They will ruin your credit and drive you up a wall. Hope they get shut down eventually for scamming people!!!

I recently closed my account for several reasons. First nowhere do they tell you in writing of the yearly fee charged on your account. The first year is $75 and I don't know how much after that. Second, they charge you interest from the date of the purchase, unlike other companies where you can pay a few days before the due date and eliminate any interest at all. Third, the interest rate they charge is 20.65% PLUS the US prime rate. That is very high. Fourth, you can't choose the date you want to pay online. If that isn't enough to NOT have one of their cards, then you will be paying through the nose for it.

Then I asked if I owed any money and he said it was a $0 balance that I had paid everything.... so how did a payment not go through if I had paid everything? So I just told him to keep it closed, I don't need the service and double checked that I had a $0 balance. He assured me that I owed nothing. I have a feeling that I am going to find out that there was their $7/month fee balance and that it will show up as unpaid on my credit report.... I think I may write a letter as well because that whole situation does not seem right. Be cautious. That being said, I am trying to save any other, naive consumer from getting this card or having to interact with this bank in any way. I've been paying my credit card bills on time and in full amounts every months. First of all, they don't even have a feature where you can schedule payments automatically in full every month. This is unheard of for me and makes me think they want you to miss a payment. So after having paid my credit card in full for the first time, and I am sure with right checking account (funny that it's processed successfully with every other credit account I own), it bounced back and I received a notice my account would be closed if it happened again.
This already left me puzzled- but I just went on and when time came around to pay the second time and I was trying to log on to pay the amount, my online account was closed. I called and the lady told me the account had been closed- no notice, nothing! She then said something about reopening it, so I could pay my bill. When I tried my account wasn't reopened- it was wiped entirely! I called again, only to hear that it wasn't possible to reopen the account, plus I missed a payment date!

He put me on hold for 30 minutes (Believed he did not contact supervisor, hoping I'll hang up), which I did. I called back 6 times, and held on each time in less than 15 minutes each time. Never got to speak to anyone and I needed to use my credit card, but, unable. Once paid, I will close this account. Most importantly, every time I have spoken to customer service, I always get a person that barely speaks English.

I've been with credit one bank for over three years now and I think it is my worst mistake ever. I was hoping to build up my credit by paying way more than the minimum amount due just for them to throw MORE additional FEES on top of that! You can NOT just pay the minimum balance for this card because they will constantly add fees to your account for them to eventually slam a late fee on you. I find that very weird and unusual. I get charged over $10/month for finance charges and I don't even use this card anymore! Your money won't ever get credited into your account until a week later. I've never heard of any other credit card companies that charges so much for fees that you don't even know about until it's already posted onto your account. This company does anything and everything to try to SCAM you for your money. Regardless, if you pay over the minimum balance or just the minimum balance, pay before or on time, you WILL ALWAYS RECEIVE ADDITIONAL ** FEES!!!!!!!! Please people, do not open an account with them!!!! I'm hoping for higher authorities to do an investigation on the company!!!!

Credit one uses all the usual methods to generate fees. Takes at least a week to post your payment, so you pay off your entire balance 2 weeks early to avoid late fees, but they wait until the last week of the month to post some transactions. Those come in after your payment so you really didn't pay the "total" monthly balance and they charge you the 30% interest on them. Also the website is often hard to access. (Not to mention the annoying credit card application page that always comes up when you sign in. Excuse me I already have a card.)
Several times I've made it through the payment process and hit submit only to get a "sorry, website is offline temporarily." Funny it only happens when I'm paying the full balance. I believe having this card has helped my credit score because I've just been approved for a major card with no annual fees, much lower interest rate, and cash back. The Credit One card is going in the trash and as soon as the next annual fee is due, I'd be canceling. I wonder how smooth that will go.

To be fair, the COB offers credit to people with less than perfect credit to give a chance to rebuild and improve their credit. This is why I applied and received the Credit One Bank card. I did not notice the Annual Fee charge when I applied, but paid the fee as I wasn't sure I might have missed the fine print. Now I see I'm being charged eight dollars and some odd cents every month and I no longer use the card as I now have several and have built my credit up. My issue was when I decided to cancel the card because I do not want to pay the monthly (Annual) fee. All their posted numbers except one, to add protection plan, is automated and there are no choices to cancel the card. Credit Protection could not help me. I finally found a number on my Experian Credit Report for Credit One Bank and was able to cancel after turning down their offer to waive the monthly fee for three months. The number for Credit One Bank to speak to an actual person is (702) 269-1000.

I signed up for this account, as I wanted to give my son (who is 18, and just building his credit) a card with a low limit. I was granted an account with a $300 limit, which I thought would be perfect. First, they charge a yearly fee, which is immediately billed to your account, upon opening. Fine - except that they didn't actually send me a card for over thirty days! So, by the time I even received my card in the mail, the account was past-due, and had late fees billed on a $99 balance.
Second, they charge fees for everything. Want to pay your balance today? $9 "Express Payment" fee (never mind the fact that your payment leaves your bank account immediately, either way - if you want it to actually credit today, there is an extra fee). There was also a $20 fee to add a second user (something unheard of with other banks and credit cards). I could go on and on. They also take more than 4 days to credit your payment - so if you pay on your actual due date, be warned - they may still count you as late.
Last - their "Paperless Billing" option means they don't send you a bill. EVER. Unlike other companies, whose paperless option means that you receive an emailed statement, Credit One's paperless option means you will not get a statement AT ALL. This is not stated anywhere on the site. I had to call customer service fives times, complaining about not receiving statements, before someone finally confirmed that "paperless" means they don't send you a statement. You are just expected to know when your payment is due, and visit the site to take care of it. They have recently added an option to their "Notifications" menu which allows you to have them email or text you when a statement is AVAILABLE, however you still need to go to the site and review it manually. (Which is ridiculous - they could just as easily send you the actual statement, so this is clearly engineered so that people miss it, and get charged extra late fees and interest.)
Also, if you would like to speak with a person in the US, forget it. That will never happen. Customer service is barely intelligible, and often borderline hostile. This entire business seems developed around screwing people who are trying to build their credit, by purposefully making it difficult to review and pay bills, so they can slap you with additional interest and fees. I would definitely avoid dealing with Credit One Bank entirely, if I had it to do over.

They told me they had no record of a declined card or any other sort of message and asked how I was using the card. I told them I've typed in the number and swiped. My now husband received an offer from CreditOne shortly after filing bankruptcy, and figured he would apply "just to see" and was approved for I believe a $300 limit, with a 29.9% interest rate, and I don't recall the annual fee, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't $75.00. I'm reading the reviews on this board and wondering if it's even the same company that we dealt with! We never had any of the issues mentioned with customer service or being declined, and when he called to cancel (Capital One had sent him an offer with a much interest rate, right at the same time we'd paid CreditOne off), he explained this as his reason, and they offered to decrease the rate. He simply explained that he didn't want to risk getting in over his head with credit cards, but would keep them in mind for down the road.
Fast forward about six months, and I'm now ready to get in the credit game, and figure I'd give them a shot since our last experience hadn't been bad. I got pre-approved, then applied and received the same balance that my husband did initially, with only a $35.00 annual fee, and 17.9% interest rate. While this is "high" this isn't unreasonable in comparison to some other cards I've seen. The only issue I'm seeing so far is the amount of time it takes for funds to become available after making a payment. As of now, it's been four days and my "Available balance" doesn't reflect the payment having been made - I did the free option. This is definitely a "fee" based card, but if handled properly it can help build you in the right direction. If I ever have any issues like others are describing, I will definitely come back and update.

Let me start off by saying I did not look up reviews on this credit card before activating it. I see that that was a HUGE mistake. I also should say that how this happened could possibly be part my own fault since I did not read everything in the disclosure as well as I should have. With that being said though, I just got this card about a month and a half ago. My bill was due 2 days ago, on the 10th. I only used the card twice, aside from being charged the ridiculous annual fee of $75, which I was not aware of, from lack of reading thoroughly I suppose. My credit limit is low, only $300, which I thought was a good start since this was my first credit card, aside from store cards.
Now that I have said all of that information, I will get into my problem. I always like to make payments early, at least by one week if not two or three weeks, ahead of time. Since this was my first bill, and I do everything paperless, I had to go through the process of adding my checking account information into the website's Pay Bill. Maybe I typed it in wrong by accident but I did get an email saying the payment posted. I did all of this on the 3rd of this month, and got the email saying my payment posted on the 5th. Still 5 days before it is due, mind you. It wasn't coming out of my actual bank's checking account but I figured it would be fine since I got the email saying it posted. WRONG! I guess maybe I should have checked my Credit One Bank account, because my payment did not go through and that was on the 8th.
I was not made aware of that through email though, so I had NO IDEA that that had happened. Of course they sent an email today, the 12th, telling me my payment was past due and I now have a late fee. How is it that a company can send an email telling you the payment posted, but can not send an email telling you that it messed up somehow and did not go through? But then can send an email telling you your payment is past due. I am beyond pissed! I have already decided to not charge anything more on this card and pay it off as soon as I can and cancel it! I tried to call the number on my card today, even though it is Sunday, you never know. And of course, there is no option to talk to an actual person.
By the sounds of it, it won't get me far anyhow. Like I said, this is my first credit card aside from store cards and I can already tell you that this is a bad card to go through. I feel like they are a scamming company with horrible customer service. Now that I have decided to let it go, not even try to resolve the late fee issue, and go ahead and pay it off and cancel, I am already nervous for when I cancel this card. What a joke of a credit card company!

Where do I start... I had a kitchen fire 18 months ago. Completely forgot to pay my bill. They called my place of employment and tried to start wage garnishment for a balance of $300 when it was 2 days late. I called and had to pay a late fee of $30, plus the payment. Yesterday.. I paid a $1000 on my balance so I can rent a truck tomorrow to move out of state. I went to pay for the truck and there is a five day hold on my payment?!? The money is out of my checking account... where is my credit?!? I called to inquire about this and the lovely Indian woman told me that if I had made an express payment for $9 more it would have been available immediately. I told her she took my money immediately and it would only be fair if her company could give me the credit I just paid off. Nothing she could do.
I should have paid the extra fee. I explained that I needed to rent a truck to be in the new state to start work.. said it wasn't her issue. Told her capital one posted the same day the payment cleared.. she told me to use capital one then. I asked to speak to her supervisor, she said she was the only supervisor I needed. Really... so.. I called her a female copulating canine and this card had better work on Tuesday because I have to start my new job on Wednesday... after I pack my house into a truck, towing my car 670 miles. Thank you for to ruining my week and the possibility of jacking up my ability to make future payments to her ** company. She said.. and I quote. ** you very much for calling... and that was the end of the conversation.
I called back.. entered in all pertinent information I was on hold for three minutes and then disconnected. Four times. After reading the reviews I can't really add much more than my story as most sound similar. My Husband and I both have/had an account with COB. I recently closed mine because they refused to change my last name (we have been married for almost 2 yrs now), too high of an interest rate for my credit (I got it over 3 years ago to rebuild my credit - I have never missed a payment and my credit has gone up over 700 so I have better cards now), and because even though I paid the card off they still charge you the "monthly" "annual fee" of $8 and change. They gave me hell trying to close it but finally did it.
On to my husband’s card... He drives truck for a living and is not able to call during the day due to what he hauls and he is not home during the week. He has added me multiple times to the account. I pay the bills out of MY account each month online. I recently switched accounts and updated in info on the website and made a payment. I received a letter telling me they didn't get the payment because the account was closed (the old account). I called to explain what had happened and rectify the situation... First I call and get lost and stolen cards. I tell them that I need to be transferred to a different department because that is not why I was calling, and he insisted that he could help me so I went through the whole story, and in return he tells me that he is lost and stolen cards and cannot help me.
I ask to be transferred again and he says that the department wasn't open. It was 8:30am EST and the website says collections is open 5am PST which would be 8am EST. But ok... I call back at 9AM EST. Get someone in C/S. I explain the situation again where I am told that I am not authorized on the account and he cannot help me which is crazy... so I ask to speak to a supervisor and he puts me on hold for at least 10 mins then disconnects the call. I call back and immediately ask to speak to a supervisor because I don't want to go through the whole story again when the guy won’t transfer me until he gets the account info and such and proceeds to tell me the same thing... I again ask for a super like I asked in the beginning and he transfers me. I go through the whole thing with that person... He tells me the same thing again and again.
I ask him what I CAN do then because this all sounds crazy because I KNOW that he has authorized me numerous times. He tells me that my husband has to give me permission each time I call (he has to be right next to me to do this he says), or he has to sent in a Power of Attorney!! He tells me that is bank policy. It’s crazy because no other bank makes you go through all of that just to add an authorized person when that person is your husband who has added you before... Needless to say I will be paying off the balance and then having my husband close the acct.

They give you everything upfront. Nothing is hidden. I used their card to help repair my credit score. After a lot of work...530 now an 813... in 5 years. Stop making excuses. They offer a product to people who normally can't get it. Follow the rules. They will also up your credit line once they feel you are reliable.

I have been with credit one bank for a number of years and the customer service is horrible. One, everyone speaks very little English, you must ask to repeat and on and on. You can stay on the phone for over 1/2 an hour to say the least. As a senior citizen living on a fixed income, my bill has come to $1100... every time I sent a payment before due date, I am charged a late fee but how can that be? for example: payment not due until 10/1 but payment made and logged in 9/21? I am constantly charged late fees... I will never be able to pay this off but I am going to send only the regular payment due... then I will default the late fees and they will have to eat it as this is an illegal rip off. DO NOT USE CREDIT ONE BANK CREDIT CARD.

I only got my card a few days ago. I went online right away and registered for the online account. I was aware of the $75 yearly charge. It did state that on the application. I also took the standard card because it also did say the charge was $6.95 for a custom card. It did ask me if I wanted a second card? I declined. So setting up my online account there was as I thought, $225.00 available on my card. HUH! I tried to use it at Walmart. Sale was $55.05. It was declined twice.
I used my Capital One card I got the same day instead. It had a full $300 limit on it and gave me no declines when I used it. So I went across the street to the tobacco store. Sale was only $16 something - again it was declined. My minimum due is only $25 and it is not due until 10/25 so I can't figure why it is declining my card. But when I go into the site the first thing that pops up is (make a payment now). I can only assume they want a payment before they will permit me to use it, even though it has already been activated. So am I correct in thinking they want a payment before I can use it?

Signed up for the card, which I did read completely over the entire terms that were sent. I knew about the $75 fee being upfront and all that; however, I originally thought they were Capital One. I mean, look at their logo. Credit One/Capital One... Same exact logo design. How could I not be confused? Anyway, I went ahead and signed up anyways, figured, why not? Also noticed the terms on the mailing (and within the cardholder agreement) stated one would be waived the annual fees if they did not use the card AND did not make a payment. Not 'OR' but 'AND'. Very very very misleading.
Anyways, I sent them a letter, and the cards, through UPS, to cancel the account and reimburse all fees as per the terms. Eleven days later, still not closed. I call them up and they argue with me and all of a sudden, the address THEY gave me is incorrect and they never got it (even though I have a signature through UPS). Charged me a $25 late fee even though I had sent it with plenty of time and requested a settlement amount. On top of all of this, I included some more information in the letter, for example, all of the Truth in Lending laws they are breaking. I will include them below;
All of the following pertain to the Truth In Lending Act (1968). Credit and Charge Card Application and Solicitation Disclosures Section §1026.60:1. §1026.60(f)(5): Grace Period: After reading over this section of the law, and re-reading the terms of service included with the pre-approval offer, I find no mention of any, nor a lack of, grace period. As per the TLA, all solicitations MUST include information pertaining to a grace period, regardless if there is one or not.
2. §1026.60(f)(14): Available Credit: As per the TLA, the initial credit limit MUST include ALL initial fees. The initial credit limit does not include the Authorized User Annual Fee.
• Periodic Statement Disclosures – Section §1026.7;1. §1026.7(b)(10): Closing date of billing cycle; new balance: After viewing the current statement online, I have noticed that the statement closing date is not listed anywhere, which, according to TLA §1026.7(b)(13)(a), is another requirement. Also, my current statement balance is reflected as $154.43. This amount is severely incorrect. If one was to look at the payment due date, 9/26, and take the days of the billing cycle, 30, one would reach 8/27. Based on this date, the only transactions to post on, or before, that date is the $19 authorized user annual fee and the $6.95 card design fee. This comes to a total of $25.95, not $154.43. You cannot include transactions BEFORE they post.
2. §1026.7(b)(6)(b): Charges Imposed: According to this part of the TLA, certain charges are supposed to be included under the ‘Fees’ heading. One of these charges includes the credit limit increase fess that you charge, which, by the way, was also never listed on the pre-approved mailing (solicitation).
As you can see, not only do they employ highly deceptive practices (i.e. the 'miswording'), but they also blatantly disregard federal law. On top of all of this, after speaking with a supervisor and getting them to close the account, they have the nerve to say, "By the way, even though your account is now closed, as long as you owe a balance, we will continue to charge you the annual fee." Seriously? The annual fee is to cover the card and the features they give you... How can they still charge me when all of that is gone?

Unfortunately, due to circumstances, I have been a customer of Credit One Bank for just about a year now. Whenever I've had an issue I would, of course, call to attempt to get it resolved. What a crock! The only call centers available are either in India or the Philippines. Aside from being so very difficult to understand, they are not at all helpful. Whatever the issue may be, all they do is repeat and repeat and repeat and repeat again whatever it is they use to disparage your complaint.
When requested to transfer me to someone in the United States, they can never perform such a complicated task. They transfer you to a low-level manager who repeats the same drivel the first agent spewed, and then when one asks to speak with their supervisor it's another ten minutes or so before they get someone above them on the phone, who in turn spits out the exact same scripted garbage they've been tossing at you for about an hour. And, again, nobody available in the United States. But they will request a phone call to you within 24-48 business hours, which, on a Saturday, can be up to 4 days before - if you're lucky - you hear from anyone.
Now, I understand that there is an annual fee required for a credit card such as this, but they charged me at the beginning of October for a November fee. My contention is that the reason for this is so they can accrue additional interest on the account, which to me is tantamount to stealing from the consumer, as is the way they start charging interest the day of a transaction. This is an unacceptable practice that must be stopped.
My account with this company has never been late, and I attempt to pay off the balance every month possible, which has been most months. You would think that a good customer would not be treated like this. Even a bad customer should never be treated like an ignorant fool, just so they can get more money into their greedy pockets.
Everything they do, including outsourcing their call centers to other nations where they don't need to pay a living wage is antithetic to what any reasonable person would consider acceptable customer service. As soon as I am able, I will be canceling this account and moving towards a more friendly and responsible bank for my credit card needs. My recommendation is to stay far far away from Credit One if at all possible.

They don't want you to pay the money back because they get more money on late fees and express payment fee. If you can't find or lose your card even stole 25.00 replacement card. They need to be sued and I would stand 1st in line if any lawyer would like to take the case and others like it. They have no help for the blind or seeing impaired. So besides the high interests to straighten out your credit you get charged in my case 7.00 for interests 3.00 credit card fee for insurance, 10.00 to make express payment and another 25.00 to send me out a card because mine is lost. They make it difficult to pay your bill back and charge late fee to boot if not paid on time without lenience they really have high tariffs. I am very disappointed with credit one bank. I have had this account for a few years and have paid on time. Having this card has helped me to rebuild my credit, but at a cost. They charge you for a credit line increase, their interest rate is very high as well as even if you want to change the design on your card, they will charge you. My banking institution made a mistake with my payment this month and paid twice, even though I had authorized only one payment. When I informed them of this they rectified the problem and refunded the duplicate payment, but a few days later I found out the refund was from the payment I had made to credit one bank. Therefore, it looks like I had not made my monthly payment, when in fact I had.
I called credit one only to be told that my account had been closed and that a letter had been sent out informing me of this. They did not give me a chance to explain that it was an error on my banking institution's part (I have a letter from the bank stating it was their mistake). Most companies that I am aware of, they will give you a certain amount of time to rectify the problem - not Credit one Bank!! Their customer service is disgusting (to say the least). I guess their call center is based overseas because you never get anyone locally on the phone. They do not seem to have a corporate office either because all the mailing addresses they use are p.o. boxes. It also seems that they must read from a script because you never ever get anyone to go the extra mile to see what they can do to help, they just repeat what you have told them and say that there is nothing that they can do.
After calling about 4 times I got to speak to a supervisor who wasn't too much help, just told me to submit the letter I received from my bank to them and they will investigate (I do not have too much hope that this will be resolved to my satisfaction). Their customer service really needs to be overhauled. It is obvious they do not care about their customers and I really would not recommend them to anyone trying to get a credit card to rebuild their credit. A company like Capital One would be a much better option.

We never received an actual working credit card, but I know that closing open accounts has a negative effect on your credit, so my husband and I paid the annual fee via check, and left the account open. A year later we receive a bill for $60. I call and they immediately demand $104. I told them that seemed completely ridiculous for an account that we never even used or had an actual card for. On August 4 while on the phone with them it was resolved that I only owed them $30. I agreed to pay this amount under the stipulation that this account would also be completely closed. I confirmed this with them 3 times, that this $30 payment would completely resolve any obligation to them, and they would close the account. Then received another bill from them.
I was pretty furious that they insisted I owed another $60 and the account was still open, after they assured me that it was closed. Now they say we owe $147 (again on an account WE DON'T EVEN HAVE A CARD FOR!!!!). There is never a manager on site that is capable of reviewing the account with us.
