This is the worst credit card I've ever had. To file a dispute you have to do all the leg work and it still takes 30 to 60 days for anyone to do anything about it. I've contacted the office after submitting everything and it's 30 days later and have been told no one's contacted the merchant. In the meantime my credit score is lowering and I'm incurring interest charges but the company can't do anything about it. I would not recommend this card to anyone. They are the worst and customer service has no resolution to your problem. Please do not do business with them. If you want a car do not go to Credit One banks.

Watch the letter they send for confirmation... On page one it shows $0 annual. I just turned it over and noticed there is $75 annual fee. When it said 0 on the front I just looked at the APR. After I saw the $75 I tried to call them. Took a dozen tries to get someone to talk to and as soon as I said "cancel this card" all of a sudden they couldn't hear me. Call back again, finally someone with very broken English. This was a job but finally got it canceled. Never again. Get out the magnifying glasses and look it over real good. Just stay away from these people is the best thing to do...

This card is a ripoff. They gave me a $500 limit and charged me $75 annual fee. I paid the fee the first year then they started charging me $8 per month for the fee. I wasn't aware I had a balance as I had not used the card. They then added a late fee and called me to collect payment. I tried to get them to remove the annual fee and they would not do it.

It took 20 minutes to get them to understand that if they wasn't going to remove the fees, I didn't want the card and to please cancel. Supposedly they waived the fee and canceled the card. I'm waiting for a letter stating that they did that. You can barely understand the people you're speaking with because the accent is so heavy. Very frustrating. I will never have anything to do with this company again and would advise others to steer clear.

I was new to this country and mistaken Credit One with Capital One! Since I dealt with them I found that there are plenty other better options for you for the following reasons: They put a max of 4 online payments every cycle (no clear count of the number of your payments is displayed). No phone app to log in and manage your account. Once you pay on the phone they charge you $9.00 service fee (higher than most). I'm seriously considering to stop using the card and eventually close the account.

I have never experienced a bigger run around in my life in trying to close my account. Talk about high pressure!!! After having to get rude, the agent (who didn't speak English very well) said it was finally closed. It took forever. And conveniently the first 2 times, we were conveniently disconnected so I had to call back and start all over. The interest rate, monthly service charge and customer service are all terrible! Stay away!

I have a platinum card with them. I have paid off my balance a few times. They increase my amount so I was late one payment because I paid it through my bank and it took alot longer than it should have. I received a call stating that the payment was late and as the lady is talking I pulled my bank account up. Gave her the date.

I made the payment. It said it was sent. She began to say that my payment increased which was a bold face lie because my min is 25.00. I send more than my minimum. She said it was 78.00. I said, "You all send me text when it due. Why can't you send an email when the payment increased?". So I ended the conversation by saying "One payment late and you got an attitude because it's there but it takes a while ma'am." You're full of it. I am paying this card off and closing it how about that... funny thing is I got my statement mailed my payment is still 25.00.

I had paid off my card on 10/20 when my bill was due on 11/2. They report to bureaus on 11/5. On 11/5 they stuck me with their monthly "annual" $8.25 charge and interest on my balance I paid on 10/20. The issue with that is they don't give you an opportunity to ever have a zero balance reported to your credit bureaus. There is always going to be a balance. I argued all the way up to 2 managers who told me it is Credit One's policy to always bill on the reporting day cycle so you NEVER have a zero balance. Unbelievable but true. I had asked earlier in the week to raise my $700 limit and they used the excuse my balance was too high at times, but they never allow you to have a zero balance unless you overpay before your due date. In one year I paid them $3700 in payments on a card with a $700 limit and they said no to a credit increase as well.

I have had this card 1 month and I wanted to check where it had been used. Tried to sign in to my account, but couldn't. I called customer service and they were of no help. She was rude like I owed her. So back online again the next day because I was so frustrated the first and tried to sign in and again I could not at that time they said. This card is like First Premier that I paid in full and canceled and this card will be canceled shortly. I blame myself. I felt like I should not have accepted credit from them. Hard lesson learned. Please people stay away from this card co.

I opened this account to build my credit thinking it was Capital One. HUGE MISTAKE. Run away as far as you can. I called today to close my account because I did not want to pay the monthly fees, no problem connecting. But, I ended up in an argument with a lady who could barely speak audible English. When I politely informed her that she was not listening to me, she then gave me a speech about how she does not own the company, she is required to do her job which is inform me (argue and not listen to me) of what they could do for me.

So, to back up a bit, when I told her to close my account, she had offered to waive my monthly fee for 3 months and lower my interest rate to 15.9% for 6 months, while my account was in a "re-evaluation" process to see if I qualified for a no-fee account. To this, I told her that I would like to have a no-fee account for good, not a temporary one, as I had the account for over a year, made all of my payments on time and my balance was currently at $0. This is where the arguing started as she constantly talked over me and would hardly stop to let me get a word in. Finally, I was able to ask her if she could give me a specific time limit on the "re-evaluation" process, she said could not.

I told to her to close my account. She talked over me again in broken English about the original "deal" she wanted to make with me. Knowing that I may never get another chance to talk to a real person at this foreign company, I kept telling her politely that I decline her offer, please close my account. I must have that said that politely in between her ramblings 6 or 7 times before she finally said ok, as of today your account is closed. I asked her to send me a confirmation email about the closure of the account, to which she said it would take up to one week. I have a strong feeling I will never receive that confirmation email and they'll charge me a monthly fee. Stay as far away from this foreign impostor of Capital One as possible.

I've been trying to access my account online to pay my bill like I always do, but for the last month the website keeps saying unavailable. I call them and they tell me that my account has been closed because two payments, one in May and the other in October came back unsuccessful. Now, even though it came back unsuccessful, I made good on the payment before the month was out. The one in October was due on the fifth, but I paid on the 10th so they closed my account. They didn't notify me by email, phone or mail that they closed it. I would have never known if I didn't call them. I was calling them to make a payment today. They told me in order to have it reopened I have to send in a bank statement, which I'm not. I told them to send me paper statements and I will pay every month until it is paid off. The service stinks and there are so many hidden fees that I was not aware of. I will not recommend this company to a dog.

I received an approval for this card in the mail about a year ago, at a time when I was trying to build up my credit. I didn't really need a new credit card. I just wanted to open another line of credit to bring my score up a few points. I filled out the response and received my new card. Along with a bill for all of the hidden fees involved in activating the card. It was only then that I noticed that the card I had activated wasn't Capital One as I thought, it was Credit One Bank. I don't know how they haven't been sued yet for ripping off Capital One, but I'm certain that this is exactly how they trick people into doing business with them. I also don't know how this company is still doing business and is actually recommended by Credit Karma because I have felt from the moment I got my card that it is a scam.

So that was about a year ago, and because that left such a bad taste in my mouth I have used the card once and immediately paid it off so that I don't carry a balance. I occasionally log in to my account so that I can make sure my balance is at zero. At 8am Saturday morning, four days ago, I got three phone calls back to back from a collections department. It turns out I had an overdue balance of $24. Apparently they charge you an "annual" fee every MONTH, they just neglect to tell you. They also don't send you a statement in the mail, so in two months I racked up $24 worth of charges and a late fee on a card that I never use.

The barely English speaking woman on the phone rudely demanded that I pay over the phone and wouldn't give me a chance to look at my statement online. So I put her on speakerphone and attempted to look up my bill on my phone, but conveniently their website was down. So I paid the money and asked to close the account. At this point I paid more money out of pocket than I had ever used in credit, and there is no way I'm paying every month for a card I don't need. I spoke with a "supervisor" (also barely spoke English) who assured me that my account was closed. Tonight I was able to get on their website for the first time since the call and my card is still active. I have never had such a poor experience with any other credit card company.

Credit One bank is the worst company ever. I have always paid on time and actually I usually pay 4 to 6 days in advance. My payment is due on the 24th. This past month I was very sick but I signed on to make my payment on time just not early. Well, I get a notice saying my account was past due and that I now have a late fee. I really believe they began to think my payment was due earlier than it is because I have paid early every month. I called them right away and it took nearly two hours of them trying to strong arm me to pay for Oct and Nov and the late fee. I explained over and over again that I had made the Oct. payment and did not understand why it did not post.

They kept ignoring me and kept insisting that I had to pay well over $100 for Sept, Oct., and Nov. I said "no, I paid you for Sept and Oct but since I never received a confirmation for Oct. I will agree for now (until I can talk with my bank) that I owe you for Oct. only and so IF you remove the late fee as per our agreement, I then only owe you a minimum payment for Oct which certainly does not equal well over $100." She finally says, "yes I know this BUT IF you pay the amount we are asking then you will have more funds available to spend." I said, again, "I have been sick and have missed work and as I have told you I cannot afford to pay ahead for Nov. and so what would make you think I have over $100 to pay you?"

Finally, she relents and then tells me I have to be transferred to two other departments. It took nearly two hours of my life to correct the issue. Oh, and at one point she tried to make me believe that I had to pay my entire balance or "else"!! It was sort of like... "Well, you missed a payment and now you must pay the entire balance." That was the first part of our conversation of which I had to stand my ground. I had to tell her several times that they did not have the legal right to force me into a full payment nor could they force me into paying a month ahead. Terrible, terrible company!

This company is sneaky, their customer service reminds me of loan sharking. Their yearly fee is outrageous and you owe it to them regardless if you ever use the card. Not sure if this is common practice or not but it stinks regardless. This is not the first time I have had payment issues with this bank and it is not the first time they have tried to charge me more than I have owed. Overall, their company is terrible and I highly recommend not doing business with them. I plan to pay off the balance soon and to close my card with them.

I have a Credit One card. I paid it off and wanted to cancel it so I didn't have to pay the monthly fee. They made me run through hoops. I paid one payment with my savings account and the rest with my checking account the whole time I had the card. They said they would close my account but it would report negatively on my credit until I provided them with letters from my banks stating that both accounts were mine. I could NEVER get someone who spoke English and it was the most ridiculous thing I had ever heard of. Even the lady at the bank didn't believe me and called herself. After asking about 5 people for an American we finally got someone in Las Vegas and she stated it was the policy and it had to be done. Why we still don't know but it's absolutely ridiculous. Their customer service sucks! If you're very responsible and want to keep your credit score up and payments on good terms, do not open a credit card with Credit One bank. Please. They do not work with you in any type of situation. They ask for very very much personal information that you have the right not to provide. They asked for my bank information, every detail and closed my account and dropped my credit score and affected everything. I can't access online services because my bank information was wrong and never called me or sent a letter to let me know. Please be careful and do not rush to anything. I could tell in her voice she knew there would be no consequences for her actions and I would just have to tolerate it. Did I mention they were charging me to deal with this rude woman. Well I may have had to deal with her this time but not again. My time with this company has ended. It's bad enough to have to pay to make a payment but to be treated poorly is uncalled for. On Saturday, 10/15, I tried making a payment online but their system was down. I had a min payment due of $12.50 but wanted to pay most of the balance off, so when the rep came on I asked to make a payment using my debit card for $200. The rep told me the system was indeed down and he would have to use my checking account info instead. I gave him that and authorized the ONE payment from checking. On Monday, 10/17, I saw the money had been deducted from my account. On Tuesday, 10/18, I got another alert that the same amount had been taken out again! I called right away and was told I would receive a refund within 24-72 hours.

By Friday evening (72 hours/3rd business day), there was still nothing. I got my bank involved, who refunded me immediately. The FOLLOWING week Tuesday, Credit One issued my refund they had promised and then charged me a $12 late fee because they said both payments had been refunded so they actually had not gotten EITHER payment. The supervisor reversed the $12.00 charge, and I AGAIN paid them $200. The next day, I received an email saying that my minimum payment was past due and that I should make a payment. When I tried opening my account to investigate online, a message popped up saying that I could not access my account. When I called to find out what was wrong, I was then told that the account was suspended due to fraudulent activity on the card. All this from THEIR original mistake of taking two payments. As of 10/31, I still cannot gain access to my account. I will be closing it as soon as it is paid off.

While the company is listed as being in Las Vegas, there are no emails listed to write to someone. You can't leave a message on their website. They have a twitter page with pretty much no activity. Their FB page is full of complaints. It at least looks as if someone monitors that page and responds to complaints, but so far my message has not been dealt with. Last time I called was Saturday night, 15 minutes before they "close". Wouldn't you know, with two minutes to spare--my phone convo was terminated. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Everything was approved the end of September. I got a letter asking me to send them copies of my ID social security card and proof of address. I faxed all this information to them on Sept 29th and called them and they said they received it and account was approved and my card would be sent. The site shows and sent on Oct 6 and I should give it till the 16 and if I don't get it call them.

On September 17 called and the automated system shows my card was activated after speaking to the guy. I spoke again to them and told them I never received my card. A gentleman from the Philippines told me they would send me a new card in the mail. The automated system shows I had a balance of 94.00 which is the fee and authorized user fee. That was fine. I paid 50.00 because 25.00 was due. The next day I called to verify that the payment posted because I paid the extra 9.95 for same day with my debit card. My call immediately went to a customer service agent with broken English telling me my account was locked and I need to send them verification again of my identity. I told them how funny is that I make a payment and then you block my account asking for same thing I already sent. They said, "We cannot unblock till we receive this information".

I called back today and demanded to speak to corporate and after 3 people I finally got someone in Vegas who speaks English. I told her I already did this and she looked and found the information and said she was sending to fraud to have my account unlocked and able to use. I will find out. I told her this sounds like deceptive practice and fraud on part of the bank because you wait till I make a payment then freeze account asking for same information. I should have read these complaints before I got this card. I just got my new card in mail today and is useless till they fix it if they ever do.

Perhaps Credit One is reading these reviews and trying to change the way they do things? I am having zero problems with the company. In fact... I just got my first credit increase ($150). I don't quite understand the payment issues people are having? When you log in to your account, it shows everything you need to know to make a payment. You can choose to pay the minimum or whatever you like. It gives you a confirmation number once you submit the payment and posts immediately that the payment is in processing... Then the next day I always receive an email stating my new balance. If I go to my account, I can see the payment, date, and amount... and the balance and what can be used for cash withdrawals and so on. I'm not understanding the issues... Perhaps if people used the website and logged in to pay instead of mailing checks or using the phone method they would be happier?

I AM concerned after reading the reviews that when it comes time to cancel my account that I will run into issues. But it is not expensive to send a registered letter that needs to be signed for... and I think I will go that route if I decide to cancel. And back it up with an email and phone call. ;) Really, I wonder if all the negative comments are because it is easy for people to get frustrated and come on review sites to complain... but people don't have much motivation to go to the review sites and give good reviews. I just wanted to say something because I am working on my credit and got this card on the advice of a financial advisor. Had I read all these prior, I doubt I'd have braved the card. But I am HAPPY I tried it and have had NO issues. Hopefully that will help someone. Peace.

Don't waste your time, they will make it impossible for you to close the account when you build your credit and get better offers. I called in to cancel my card that I didn't use anyways, it was a nightmare. Finally after being on the phone for an extensive amount of time the woman convinced me to not cancel. She would increase my limit and waive the annual fee. Three weeks later I receive a bill with the annual fee and an additional $10 limit increase charge, that I never asked for in the first- she offered it to me to not cancel.

Now after spending another 20+ minutes on the phone making them cancel my card, I still have to pay the annual fee but they will credit me the increase limit fee - these people are impossible to deal with. Save your time and apply with Capital One or someone else. Customer service is 100 times better - please do not waste your time with this company - they will be the ones messing it back up after you have tried hard to make it good again!!!! Either server is down, it won't let me add information, and other issues that prevented me from paying. I had a Credit One card for several years. I opened this card when I was young to establish credit. I have always been VERY responsible with my credit and have NEVER made a late payment in my life. This past January, I came into some money and decided to pay off my balances on all my credit cards. It wasn't much, but it felt nice to be debt free. I made one lump payment for the total balance on my Credit One card and never heard from them again. Then two days ago (October) I received a notice in the mail for a collection agency stating that they had purchased my debt of $345 from another debt collector. I traced the original debt back to Credit One!

I panicked and pulled my credit report and discovered that after I had made what I thought was my final payment, there was still a balance due of $31. The strange thing was, I stopped receiving statements after I made my final payment. I had always received statements when there was a balance prior to my attempting to pay off the full balance and then all of sudden the statements just stopped. Naturally, I assumed there was no balance. My mistake. $314 in late fees and 48 points down on my credit report later I learned my lesson. When I called Credit One to address this issue, the response from "John" ID number ** was "I don't know what to tell you" and "It's been sold to a collection agency".

It was suspicious that when I asked what address my statements were going to, he could not tell me, he could only "confirm" what was on the statement. Also suspicious was the fact that he could not email or fax me my statements, only mail them. Hmmm. This feels more and more like an irresponsible and dishonest company that attempts to collect money by purposely withholding statements and charging ridiculous late fees to trusting clients thereby damaging their credit in the process. I have learned my lesson. My hope is that my story with this horrible company will save someone the stress and injury of dealing with this truly dishonest and shameful company.

When you have bad credit and a card is offered to you expect high fees. I couldn't get a card from anyone, not even the bank I do business with would give me a card but then I got this one. I started off just using it for gas and would pay off the balance in full when it was due. Then I added 2 accounts I have that I pay monthly for, that way even if I don't use it for gas it's being used monthly and paid that in full every month.

Here we are 7 months later and I have a better credit score, a lower APR and an increase all because I used it in a smart way. It's not their fault your credit is bad and they're giving you a way to make it better. I've received offers from 2 other companies and accepted them both so now I have 3 credit cards when 7 months ago I couldn't even get 1 if my life depended on it. Go ahead and try to get a card that will give you an unsecured credit limit with bad credit, it's not going to happen. If it's that bad then just cancel and cut up the card, me on the other hand I'm going to only leave my 2 recurring payments on it and keep building my credit with it. I'll use the other 2 for my other purchases.

I mailed a payment into your company the first of the month and I was sure the payment had been made. On 18 October I got a call and was told that I hadn't sent in my payment and was asked to make another payment which included a late fee. I checked my statement and found out that my check had been cashed the day before the call was made. I am very dissatisfied with the way my account was processed. I want to know how are they going to correct that error and to make sure it doesn't happen again.

I have been with Credit One for over 3 years! I would always get the notice when signing in my account "sign up for paperless statements". I usually just stay on paper statements and write down when they are due. Well I signed up for their paperless statements. What a joke! I get an email saying your acct. is past due. I called them up and asked, "Credit One doesn't send the statements to your email like every other company?" They said no! (But they will send you an email saying your past due.) You have to log on your acct and look at the statement. What's the point of paperless? I don't know about the rest of the world, but I don't sit around thinking about my credit card payment. They charged me a late fee. I just don't think it's right to do business like that.

We made bad mistake opening a credit card account with this bank. The reason - they seem to impersonate Capital One Bank, where we do the majority of our banking. Same logo, same font - we thought we were opening a Capital One, not a Credit One, account. My wife used the card a few times but there was no further communication - no PIN number, no statement, no letter - nothing, not like Capital One at all. So we visited the local branch of Capital One (very helpful and friendly staff). They said "no, this is CREDIT ONE who are well known for copying Capital One." We contacted their automated phone system - we had already been charged $75 joining fee and were already charged $25 late fee (we were already late despite receiving no statement). I phoned them to pay in full immediately, using their automated system, and was charged $9.95 for the pleasure.

We started the process of trying to contact them to cancel everything (this is not going to be a good on-going relationship!). No answer from customer service, unbelievably no one available to take our call, call back later. I called for 4 days - no-one available to take calls. All telephone numbers on their website led to this same answer phone system - no one available. No email address on their website so we sent letters cancelling everything to all the address's quoted on their website - no response 2 weeks later. We then struck lucky - someone answered on the customer service number after 6 days of trying. We said we wish to cancel everything immediately. They argued. We said cancel - they argued. After 10 minutes of this they eventually said they would cancel and this will be the November statement. And that's where we are as of today.

Will they action our request to cancel, or will we receive, as I fear, another bill in November with another round of fees and charges. I received today our first statement from them, stating we still owe them $217.20 of which $121.52 are fees and charges. Obviously we have stopped using this card and will take great pleasure in cutting into small pieces as soon as we have confirmation all is cancelled. I have never received such terrible service from any financial institution and can only come to the conclusion they only care about charging fees whenever possible and basically ripping customers off in anyway they can - even down to impersonating other far more reputable banks such as Capital One. BEWARE THIS ORGANISATION!

I too wasn't paying close attention and because the logos are almost identical I thought that this was Capital One as well. They have very high fees for everything and their customer service is terrible and sends you in circles making it difficult to solve any issues. The last straw was when I realized that even though I wasn't using my card there was a "membership fee" which I wanted waived. I told the woman I wasn't going to pay a fee that I would rather cancel the card - went off a little on her, a little on the shady dealing that this company has displayed and she hung up on me.

I called back again to speak to a manager and was sent to a closed office. When I finally got a manager he told me that the woman that hung up on me just went ahead and canceled it. I guess at this point I would rather take the blow to my credit and close this terrible card than have to worry about this company. My big fear is that they have all my private information. Beware of this company - I wish I would have read the reviews, but they prey on those with low credit score. I know that I will never fall for a scam like this again.

I went to pay my balance off on my credit one card and forgot to update to my new account information. They almost instantly locked my account. When I called to try and get the account unlocked they wanted me to jump through hoops claiming that I had sent a payment from an inactive account on purpose and that I needed to validate my identity. While dealing with this they added fees for failure to process the payment and for late fees since you was unable to access my account. Then they sent my account to collections. Almost every bill I pay is over the phone or on the internet. I truly believe this is their way of making more money off late fees. I've called the customers service over a dozen times. After, when I spoke with a man, explained I wanted to close the account, he pretended to transfer me to 3-4 so called managers even though it was the same man each time. He finally transferred me to a woman named Michelle who said she closed my account after asking me if it was ok to charge my bank the 52.20 remaining on my account.

Then when I asked for a refund of my 600.00 security, she told me she could not hear me, the connection was bad and for me to call back, then hung up again. I spent two hours and 16 calls trying with these people. I am LIVID that a company is allowed to function and scam people in this country. Not only would they refuse to talk to me about the refund but the account still remains open. So they can continue to charge me interest I am sure. I have contacted the BBB to intervene. After, I tried 2 separate times to use the card (gas and fast food) and it was declined both times. I receive my Credit One bank card about a month ago or so. I noticed that there was more transactions done my card then come to find out that I kept on calling them day by day and they are saying that they don't understand why this is happening and it's not showing in the computer system it was happening but it is showing in their system using my card. I come to find out that I used it in the morning but then I look at my card at night and then I see the same charge on my card again which I didn't use the card later on that day.

So then I called them about that and they still said "yes" that "yes you did. You just called earlier but now we don't know why that there is a second charge and system is not showing it." I was in the store. It probably was on their end. "Can you correct it," I asked. They said "well let's see what we could do" then I will call them back the next day and I will ask him the same question and they said that they will correct the problem.

I seen that my card was mishandled by them and money was being taken off by them so they're looking into it and now it's been more than a month and nothing has been accomplished off "won't we can't find out why. Don't worry about it. Everything will be fixed. All the extra money that came off your card will be put back onto your card." It should never happened. I thought this was affiliated with Capital One because it had the same insignia but come to find out it wasn't. To send in my private information so I did what I was asked so I had to send in a copy of my license, a bill and all my private information to them. Before it got to them they released a card and the card was in my mail so I thought it was Capital One with a credit increase but yet it wasn't.

I finally noticed that so I still continue the one with the process thinking that this was the door reputable card. Nevertheless as I explained that money's been missing out of my account they see it at first. When you speak to them they said that they don't know nothing about it, they don't see it and then as you keep on asking him questions and question then they said "yes we do see. We don't know what's happening. Will looking into it. Will care of it." I advised anyone who trying to get this card not to use this card because it has a lot of problems in a lot of scams. I see coz it taking money out of your account. I believe they're selling your information.

I could talk about this all year but it won't make a difference. They're not fixing my problem, they're only taking money out of my account. They are a big entity but as a group we all can get together and make the class action lawsuit against them. And I was out of town needing money to get home. So embarrassing not to have enough money to get home. Credit one sucks. Be aware of the scam. Capital One that is all right with me but I have both cards.

I refused that offer and then noticed that not only was I being charged a monthly service fee, I was also being charged interest on transactions, even though I was paying the balance off at the end of each billing period. I attempted to cancel the card, but ran into agents who barely spoke English and extremely long hold times. I finally used a third party service and they were able to get the card canceled. I only applied for a Credit One card to help fix my credit while providing emergency cash. Everything was great. I check my accounts everyday so as soon as I saw a payment due I paid it. Never had a late fee and never overdrew my account. My credit went through the roof due to my new car note and other bills I made sure to pay on time. Since I now have solid credit I have no need for a high interest rate credit card. So what did I do? I paid it fully out and CLOSED the account. You would think that would be it right? Wrong!

You see, I work for a financial company and it's in my nature to check up on things as it's my job. So about a week after I closed my account I log into it online. I noticed that I actually overpaid by only $3.41. Fine. I call to make sure my account is closed at a $0 balance and to tell them they can send me a refund check for my overpayment. They assure me that my account is closed at a $0 balance and they tell me they will send a check for my overpayment. This was in the middle of August. One week later I receive a statement. You don't receive statements for closed accounts. That actually costs the company money due to what we in the banking business like to call maintenance fees. So I called about it. They chalked it up to it being the same month I closed the account. Ok. I'll give them that. Still waiting on that little check.

A month passes and I receive ANOTHER statement of a balance of $0. I call again. I tell them I shouldn't be receiving statements on a closed account that should be closed and that has been inactive. They said they would fix it. I then question them about that check they were supposed to send me and they tell me it takes 6-8 weeks for me to get the check. Strange? It is.

Fast forward to this month. I have received yet another $0 balance statement for a closed, inactive and damn near dormant account. I also still have no check. I called them today to light into them. They are refusing to close my account maintenance. That means that the account is still alive and running and could not only accrue fees (for inactivity), but it could also be reopened by fraudulent means. I was put on hold and then hung up on. I called back and was transferred to a "supervisor" who said I was receiving statements because I was still enrolled in the paperless statements option on the account. I then let him know my line of work. I told him once an account is PROPERLY shut down an statement does not generate whether you were enrolled in paperless or not. It costs money to send paper and it costs bandwidth to send an email for a closed account. It's not a mailing list item. That's beyond inefficient business practices.

What does he say to that? He will un-enroll me in paperless. I ask about my little check and he proceeds to tell me that the $3.41 was the interest on the account. So closed accounts accrue interest now? I asked for his name and he said he could only give his first name but gave me a employee ID number (that's probably bogus). I will be contacting law authorities due to this. I have never in my life had such trouble to close a paid off account and receive a flimsy $3.41 refund. They are horrible in their business practices thus causing many people unnecessary stress and tension doing business with them. RUN FAR AWAY.

Then she tells me it's down for repairs? Come on... Anyway. I just got off the phone (for the 3rd time) complaining about the website and again I was told it would be back up and running in 3 to 5 business days. I then told her, "that's what you told me 2 weeks ago"...

Now, when I make a payment I have to call them on the phone... my issue is this - any business I have worked with in regards to an account, they NEVER ask for the full SSN and Account Number... What is wrong with this picture? Oh how I wish I would have never gotten connected with this fly-by-night organization!!! What can I do??? Oh, BTW, the only number I could find was actually from my own bank. Yep, the only payment I have make through my bank to them comes with their routing number, which I searched online. There is it!!! 702-269-1203...

I have never written a review before... but I was so mad at these people I am now writing my first. I initially signed up for this card as a credit builder tool. Wow! What a bad choice. When I was done with it, I tried to close it out as it continued to charge me various user fees. So lucky me – I get to call their supposed customer service department. After nice long holds I had the pleasure of speaking to the customer service team Credit One Bank has so nicely outsourced to the Philippines. And man, does it ever show. I had to spend 2 hours over the course of three different phone calls to finally get the account closed correctly and the incorrect fees waived. When I finally thought all was solved... I get a late balance overdue notification in my email. Are you serious!!!

I wasted all that time and the problem still was not resolved??? Absolutely the worst service ever, plus they can barely speak English. One of the "reps" tried to force me not to close the account to "in exchange get the late fee waived". Nice try! Waive one fee to keep slapping me with user fees. Call that service? I don't. I have never been so angry at a company's customer service before. I will NEVER EVER use Credit One again. And watch out for employee ID # ** – he has no idea what he is doing.

I asked for my refund for one of them, and in addition they asked for late fees for a payment that I already paid plus charging interest for that and they still said I have not paid. Next thing I'm getting phone calls about a balance due and a late fee. Here is the problem, THEY NEVER SENT ME STATEMENTS that I had charges on my credit cards. I never used the cards and I am not paperless with them. I received paper statements when I did charge something. How in the world is one suppose to know there is a charge on one's credit card if they don't send you a billing statement? I have to call and BEG for a paper statement, then they don't send it and then they charge me late fees. TOTAL FRAUD. I finally wised up and cancelled both cards. YOU SHOULD TOO. My next step is the authorities to look into their fraudulent business practice.

Every other creditor I have, I pay my bill and there is nothing else for me to do. With this company, you pay your bill and if you are lucky it will be processed. They do not do email confirmations. A prudent customer of this company should always call to double check the payment was received and get a reference number. You should also print out your confirmation page. And then check two days later to see if your payment is reflected online.

That is what I do, and today I saw two late payment fees. I called and Credit One and they said it was a mistake and they would remove the late fee charges. I asked them for a reference #. They could not give me one. They said call back on Monday. I once tried to do two payments in a month and they would not let me do it until they went through a confirmation process with my bank. Never mind the fact that I had already made online payments using this bank. This banks doesn't post your payment until about 5 days after you pay. Not a good choice for a credit card.

Each attempt lead me to a cannot complete setup because; invalid username, invalid password, incorrect expiration date, etc. I then contacted customer support twice! The third attempt directed me to a barrage of consumer offers, coupons for a fee, a T-Mobile account and many more. I had to use a second phone to reach a representative, it then took many more attempts to set up this account. At this point I am totally paranoid to give this company any banking info, account num. even the name of my bank. I intend to visit my bank and with the assistance of a personal banker pay the small amount on this card off, canceling the card and putting a block on my account for this company prohibiting a payment of any amount. I can only hope I don't make a mistake like this again.

I don't even recall applying for the Credit One Bank card, but I have one. I have NEVER used it at all for anything yet every single month a new charge of just under $25 shows up on the card. Because I've never used it, it's locked up in a file cabinet and I've just about forgotten all about it. Yet very month, several weeks BEFORE the payment is due, they start calling me repeatedly, 8-12 times per day for a payment that is not even due yet. Maybe they are so desperate for my $25 that they can't wait until the payment due date? They promote the card as a great way to rebuild credit which confuses me yet again, because I have no need for that either.

In any case today when they called and I finally had a chance to answer, I told them to go ** themselves, paid the $24.95 online and will be cancelling as soon as the payment is posted off the balance. If you desperately need to rebuild your credit and can't get a card anywhere else, just be prepared for the constant, classless harassment from people who barely even speak English (or any discernible language for that matter) for your minimum payment due several weeks before it's actually due. If you're not terribly desperate for a credit card, walk away, look elsewhere.

I first heard about the credit card with an offer in the mail for $1,500 line of credit. Now, to be honest I did not read the contract word for word. When I got the credit card I got a $400.00 line of credit. I was not happy about that but I still wanted to keep the card so I can build up my credit. When I got my first bill I was charged for $75.00 and I have not yet made any purchases. WHAT!!! The $75.00 was an annual fee and my monthly bill was $25.00; can you say financial entrapment.

Without hesitation I made a payment for the $25.00 and made a payment for the $75.00. I called Credit One Bank to cancel the card, they offer to have me to pay $50.00 with a credit of the annual fee, I do not know how the credit is going to last so I can not take the risk; and overall that is still too much for a line credit of $400.00. Overall I cancelled the card and now I'm waiting for my refund check to come that is going to showing prorated credits of the final days in my last billing cycle. Here is some good advice, be very careful who you sign for depending on your credit score.

I have had excellent payment history with Credit one and they have increased my credit 4 times without me even asking. I originally got this card to reestablish my credit. It's been almost two years and I now have another credit card. Although I have received so many other credit card offers in the mail, I decided I would only keep Credit one and my Barclays.

So here goes my nightmare with Credit One. Over a month ago I was purchasing clothes online. When I tried to pay, my card declined. Sometimes its the website or whatever but I didn't think much of it. I used my debit card to pay for the stuff I was buying. About 2 weeks later, I went to log in to my account to see what my balance owed was as I wanted to make sure to pay it in full. When I tried to log in, the website said "your account is temporarily unavailable". Hmmm weird but I chalked it up to their routine website maintenance. Then I go on a trip to another state. I didn't realize I left my Barclays card in my drawer. I go to pick up my rental car and the rental agent tells me the Credit One card declined.

In my mind, I was thinking impossible. I haven't used this card in a long time and I should only have a balance of about $100 and an available balance of $1400.00. I was embarrassed but called the 800 right then and there. The customer service agent was completely rude and had me verify my information on file 2 times. "What is your full name? What is your name as it appears on the card? Last four of social? Phone number? What was the last transaction you made on the card?" ("Ummm I don't remember the last transaction I made on the card. I haven't used it in over a month.") Then he went over the questions again.

Finally he said they blocked my card because there were some suspicious activities online. When I asked what activities, he said it was the clothing website I was trying to buy clothes from. I told him it was me trying to make those purchases. He then told me they would have to send me a new card which would arrive in 7 to 10 days unless I wanted to pay a rush fee of $50.00 and I would get the card in 2 days. I told the rep that I was in another state now basically stranded without a car and how was I going to pay for my hotel rental. Oh by the way, I didn't have my debit card either because I was waiting on a new one. My dog had chewed up stuff from my purse along with the debit card and some of the numbers were no longer visible and the stripe did not work.

I asked the rep if they just couldn't reinstate the card that I had in my hand and he said no. I asked why they hadn't notified me via e-mail or even a phone call to let me know that there might be "suspicious" activity on my card and that they had blocked it. He said they do not generally do that. At this point I had to contact a family member and stay with them while in that state. It was so embarrassing. When I was finally back home, I tried to log in to my account again and it still said access to my account was unavailable. I called customer service again.

Again, I was asked a ton of identity verifying questions. The customer service agent said "OK, now I will go ahead and reinstate your card (the same exact card I tried to use when out of town) and you can begin using it again." I said "WHAAAT?!? You mean to tell me you do not have to send me a new card?" She said "That's right maam." I then asked why the previous customer service agent said they couldn't reinstate me and had to reissue an new card. WHILE I WAS STRANDED in another state. All she said was "I'm sorry to hear that maam".

I then told her all I wanted to do was find out the balance I owed to pay it and close my account with them. She told me I could do that but they couldn't close the account till the payment posted even though on my end the payment shows its immediately withdrawn from my account. This is the worst experience I've ever had. I'm just waiting for my payment to post [on their end] to close the account with them. Besides, I cannot stand to hear those Indian accents. I discourage everyone from giving them business. They treat even their best paying customers like crap.

They just have the same Logo Design which is totally deceptive and makes you sign up with them without even checking twice "a crime". I just realized after I was about to sign up for an online account, that this is not Capital One.

Due to the fact that canceling an account is not healthy for your credit, I was advised (actually by my Capital One bank manager) not to use the card one full year, and this will automatically cancel the account without affecting my credit. While this is not the case with this hoax bank, I am already paying them 8.25 per month for the past three or maybe four years, and I am not using the card, and they keep charging 8.25 per month. They are just making a living on my mistake. This is a total sham, and they shall be prosecuted.

I updated, but mistakenly put my credit union membership number in the field instead of my account #. I only realized this when I received a letter saying that my payment was rejected by Credit One. I immediately tried to go online to verify the info. I couldn't access the online Credit One account - a message saying my account was temp. unavailable and to try again later. This happened for a few days. I received a call from Credit One's payment center and they asked if I could make a payment over the phone. Sure thing! I gave them my debit card and it would not process.

Strange - I have money in that account and the payment due was only $8. I gave him another card.... same thing happened so I asked to speak with the manager. The manager comes on the phone and tells me that their payment processing system is down. He tells me that once it comes back up, he'll process the card and give me a call back - estimated time 30 min. Ok, fine.

Later in the day, I tried to access the online system again - nothing. I called to find out why and they tell me it's because my account has been temp. suspended due to incorrect banking information. "OK, let me give you the correct information." I gave her the correct information and she tells me that she cannot accept that info because I'll need to get the bank to send them an account verification letter. I'm over it at this point... really - you're not that important to me. I asked her what the balance on the account was. She says, "There is no balance - but we owe you 25 cents for an overpayment." Um... "So - you closed my account and you owe me money?" I told them to keep the 25 cents and permanently close my account. Overall, I had a pleasant relationship with this card/company. The interest rate isn't great and they have a startup fee and an annual fee so once I had paid it off this last time I had decided to close it because I have two other cards with lower interest rates and no annual fees. I called to close the account and at first I was speaking to one foreign man who switched me over to another foreign man who (I ** you not) sounded exactly like the first one. As in, I'm pretty sure it was actually the first man who was speaking quieter because a few moments later he raised his voice and if it wasn't the same person then I'm really surprised.

Anyway, just wanted to close my account, I listed a few reasons and the man began telling me that I told the first man (a.k.a. him) that I wanted to close it because of the annual fee which is only "$8.95 so if you just keep it open at the $0 balance you will not be charged an annual fee for this year". "Well I really appreciate that you want to waive the fee but I just want to go ahead and close the account." "My associate said you wanted to close the account because of the annual fee, you will not be charged that so you can just keep it open". "Well sir, that was just one of the reasons and I would just really like to close my account if that's okay."

After about 10 minutes of back and forth when he realized I wasn't going to budge he said "Fine", spit out this whole spiel so quickly I couldn't hear it. And when I asked him to confirm my account was closed he said something, which I assume was "Yes" and hung up. So...maybe my account is closed. I'm going to call tomorrow and confirm. But, wow, if this is their idea of customer service they really need to get their crap together. Heck, I closed my Milestone card not that long ago and they were sweet as can be... Don't get a Credit One card, just go for Capital One. It's a better card and they have much better Customer Service!

I got a random ad for this cc in the mail about 18 months ago. Since at the time I was almost 20 and I was always pushing my TJ Maxx cc I figured I should have another cc. They started my credit limit at around 300. Then soon after randomly my limit went up to 550. I never made a late payment and in fact my payments were typically right after I got my bill in the mail. Meaning my due date was always on the 16th of the month and I would get my bill around the 26th of the month but I normally paid it once it posted via phone call though the auto system I called. This 75$ card fee I never saw but maybe since I was just happy for another cc I never noticed it.

Recently about 3 or months ago and today is 9/26/2016 so about June or July I got a notice in the mail that I could higher my credit limit to $700 for a fee of 25$ or close to that. So I decide to do that. Then the next billing I started to get billed a monthly fee of 8.25$ which I thought was crazy because I never had one. I realized my account had a $700 balance and in order to cancel I had to pay it off. So I decided to do just that. I made BIG payments in order to get it paid off FAST. Once I made my final big payment I called in to cancel. I did get a non clear english speaking person who then transferred me to another non clear english speaking person once I said I wanted to cancel my cc. I was on hold for about 5 mins - nothing super crazy. Maybe it was the time I called which was about 4:30pm est.

I informed them that I wanted to cancel the cc due to the fees and no rewards. I was then Informed we do get awards but never noticed it. Once I looked at all of my statements and yes I have every single one I did see that the reward system was in fact there but I never made a difference to me. Then he also offered me a refund for the month of Sept service fee and October since I had made that as my final payment and also no other service fee for the next 6 months taking it to March since October was included in the 6 months. And since I am currently trying to pay off all my cc and improve my credit score I figured not canceling the cc and just have open credit that's not being used vs what I have against me would help big time. So currently I think it is a good company. I've only had to call this one time and will be keep the cc while there is no fee to have it. I hope this helps. :)

Both my husband and I each have a credit card through Credit One bank. It was very easy to obtain, and we thought it would help our credit. I received my offer for a first card, filled out the application online and it said the card would arrive in 7 to 10 business days. Okay 7 days pass, with no card in hand I received a statement for $75. I called and told them the card had not arrived, nor had I activated it or made a purchase. So they canceled that card and sent me a new one. In that process, I moved and over a year later still have not received the card, but still receive the bill. Back in April of 2016, my husband and I both receive an offer so we fill them out and my third card arrives on day 10 along with a bill. His arrives on day 7, no bill. I call to tell them the same process and they want to send me another card, I told them no. They didn't end up charging me (or us) the $75 until we activated and used our cards for the first time.

Forward to June of 2016. We were struggling a bit because we were in a car accident and the car was "totaled" ending up in buying another car. So we were late in making one month payment. Day one, two, and three we received numerous calls from the bank. On day three, I answered the phone and a CSR told me that if my husband didn't make his payment in the next five days they would send it to collections. I told her, it's only three days late we will make the payment when we get paid. She was hard to understand because she had an accent, but also at the same time was extremely rude. The next few days we still received calls stating the same thing. The day we made our payment, the calls stopped.

Fast forward to September (now) and we had saved up money to pay off one of the Credit One cards. He paid off his card and within two business days, the money is taken out but the statement is not updated. We figure why not wait a couple more days. By the end of that week we log onto the account to see that the balance is $5! We paid it off and they charged us an "interest charge on purchases." What purchase?? We paid off our account and you charge us?!? We looked back several months and every time we paid our balance online, they charged us an extra "interest charge on purchases" EVERY TIME. This same month we also paid off (in full) two Capital One credit cards, and they didn't charge us a dime. If I am allowed to update this at a later time, I will do so keep an updated status on what's happening. My main point: Credit One bank is a WASTE! Do not activate your card!

When I called the bank, they said that I made the payment - and they were sure I did so. I told them that I was out of town at the time with no internet access, so I could NOT have made the payment. They said it must have been a hacker who took this action (pay my credit card bill?) but that the funds would be returned to me. Three weeks later - no funds returned - and NO payment shown on my account. Where did my funds go? They did credit the $9.95 'express payment' fee back to my card account, but they did NOT credit the account for the $809.95 they were still holding. I called them again, and they said that it would take 30 to 60 days for their fraud team to 'find out what happened'. Another week goes by, and I call them again. This time, they say that a check will be mailed to me immediately, and I would receive it no later than one week later. No check arrives.

Now, it's 5 weeks after they seized my funds. I called them again today and asked to speak to a supervisor. Note that there ARE no bank supervisors at the telemarketing center in India; there are only TELEMARKETING supervisors. You can never speak with an actual bank executive. Today, the supervisor told me that I need to contact my bank and CANCEL the payment from August 12th - a full 5+ weeks after they took the funds.

Clearly, Credit One Bank is guilty of at least 5 violations of the OCC (Office of the Comptroller of the Currency) regulations. 1.) They accessed my personal checking account - NOT for credit verification - but to see how much available funds I had. 2.) They took the money without my permission. 3.) They did not credit my card account for the money they took. 4.) They continue to charge me interest on the full card balance prior to the $809.95 payment. 5.) They are not paying me interest on the $809.95, even though they have had it in their possession for over 5 weeks. How can a bank get away with such flagrant banking law violations, in this day and age? Has anyone else had this happen to them? We may have the makings of a class action suit. If you are even REMOTELY thinking of getting a card account with this bank, RUN AWAY!!!

I called credit one bank about my statement as I never received it in the mail for August 2016. I got a woman who barely spoke English and was yelling at me that I knew the billing cycle and billing information. I explained to her that I was paying my balance in full with a check and needed the statement to go with it. And she said that she would mail me a new statement but my bill would still be late. I said that I understood this but I didn't want my bill to be marked as late for something that they never sent me. And I didn't want it to appear on my credit report. This woman told me "not my problem. Is it?" She never let me finish a sentence and when I asked to talk to a supervisor that spoke English and wasn't so rude she told me that No one was available and I said there is no supervisor there.

Her response was, "What did I tell you? Couldn't you understand what I just said? Are you dumb?" My response was, "No you damn **. I'm not dumb but I want to speak to a supervisor. You as a customer service representative are horrible." She said she would take down my number and have one call me back in the next 2 to 3 weeks. Needless to say no supervisor ever called me. I mailed my payment in full 2 weeks ago and they have yet to credit my account. As soon as they do I am definitely canceling this card and won't deal with them again.

It is interesting to read these reviews. I doubt no one. I, however, have not had an unpleasant experience with Credit One. I have placed two or three calls to this company, but I have never spoken to anyone who was not a native speaker of English--my account is about 18 months old. My interest rate is about 24%, though I would like to see it lowered. I have, on a couple of occasions, accessed cash at the same rate of interest. I was given a $400 credit limit, which was raised within 30 days to $500 without any additional request.

I recently had the CL raised to $750 for a $25 fee. My annual fee is roughly $95 annually, though I plan to request a reduction in this fee near my next anniversary. I always pay online about a week before the due date and have never had a problem with being properly credited. I mistakenly believed this company was a subsidiary of Capital One because of the style of the logo--if it is not, that is definitely deceptive! The interest rate and high annual fee renders this a spendy source of credit, but thank goodness, I have had absolutely no problems!

I applied for a Credit One card to help repair my credit and have been very happy with them. I'd recommend them to anyone looking to get a card with a low limit to start rebuilding or repairing their credit. As some others have stated before, I think the vast majority of people having issues with COB simply don't read the fine print. I had no surprises with annual fees, payment due date or the interest rate. Everything is spelled out in the application paperwork. I have had absolutely zero problems with this company. I have a feeling most of the people complaining here have little or no knowledge of how credit, credit card companies, and even personal finance, works.

Make your payments in full and on time, pay attention to your balance, read the fine print, and quit trying to blame Credit One for your own misunderstanding of how credit and money works. If you can't handle a credit card with a $300 limit, if you can't understand what you're signing up for and agreeing to, if you can't afford your payments or an annual fee, you probably shouldn't be applying for a credit card in the first place.

I thought I was smart. But I guess not!!! I applied to this Credit One Company for a $300 limit. I received my card in a week. When I read the instructions, it stated there was a one time 19 dollar activating fee and a once a month 9 dollar fee for using the card. So my limit now was $272. I spent a 100 dollars so I thought my balance was 172. When I went online to check my balance, the message was "Temporarily Down". So I called the number in back of the card and hit 1 my balance and it said I had a 58 dollar balance!!! WTF!!! I went back online again and it was still temporarily down!!! I waited 2 hours and called back. I hit 1 again and now it tells me I am overdrawn by 52 dollars!!! WTH!!!

So I waited for the following day and went online again and still temporarily down! I called customer service which is a different number than in back of the card and I got a hold of a female server. I could tell right away she didn't have great English-speaking skills. I explained my story and she tells me in a fast pace speaking form that there were two other fees involved!!! I asked what were they? She explained there is a once a year 75 dollar fee and a 10 dollar online fee for paying your bill! I said to hear in a calm manner. I didn't see or read any fee like that. This is when she totally ignored what I was saying and kept telling me I am overdrawn! I told her in a more abrasive voice! "STOP!!! You're not answering my question!!!"

Right then I knew I screwed up! So I said to her that I want to close my account NOW!! I asked what is my total balance that I owe! She said, "You owe $288.13." I said, but that is not over my limit! I asked again! What is my TOTAL balance after the overdraw??? She said, your balance is $288.13. I said, how can I be overdrawn if my balance is $288.13 and I have a $300 limit?? She paused and said "I will calculate!" I waited 30 sec. and she came back and said "you owe $288.13 and you're $52 dollars overdrawn." So I said, can you calculate the $288.13 plus $52? She said, "I guess!" She goes away for another 20 sec. and comes back and says! "You owe $288.13 and 52 which comes to $340.13." I bit my lip and said to her, "I will be sending a certified check and a copy of my cut up card and a letter from the Wisconsin Consumer Agency." She hung up!!!

What confuses me more than anything is that why oh why isn't the government closing these crooked places?? Just like the payday loans that charge over 300% interest which is so CRIMINAL!!! When I went to one of those payday loans I asked the clerk why is the interest so damn high??? She said, "its high because the company has people like you who pay their loan to help pay other loans that don't get paid!!!" So I am paying for others who quit on their contract??? She replied! Yep! I got the hell out of there!!! So people, this credit company is as crooked as it gets. I know if you're living on a small income that it is so tempting to go to these places that make it easy for you to get a card with a credit limit and they promise you your credit score will improve? It will NOT!!! Stay Away from CREDIT ONE!!!

I filed a claim to dispute an unauthorized transaction of $1,251.05 knowing the credit limit is $300 which I was shocked this company even approved any over the limit transaction. While the dispute claim was pending, the company never ceased any reporting to the credit bureau and actually reported my utilization at 200%. This made my credit score dropped very low to the point I couldn't get approved for a home to rent. Credit One sent a letter, stated the charge is valid and closed the claim for some reason after I mailed them several documents confirming the charge was made without my consent.

So I filed a complaint with OCC to have this company investigated and somehow, Credit One realized I did not authorize the transaction 8 months later and closed the account. They never fixed the previous negative reporting, still are reporting high credit utilization, past due and was still charging me for credit protection which I never wanted in the first place. I endured 8 months actually 9 of harassment, embarrassment, stress, and disgust with this company!! I want others to understand the many flaws this credit card company really offers.

I'm absolutely appalled by the reckless, ludicrous and downright inflammatory comments/reviews of Credit One Bank and their credit cards. For all intents and purposes, they're a relatively new company. I mean, who ever heard of them before last year? Every company, big or small, has to start somewhere. If that means hiring overseas (and NO, I do NOT like dealing with thick accents or scatterbrains), then so be it.

I just started to rebuild my credit in May, and I needed a quick interaction with simplicity and results. Credit One has met those needs with flying colors. When I visited some sites (Credit Karma, Experian, Nerdwallet, etc.) to brush up on my personal credit score and reports, I found I was starting with a pretty low one - 627, I believe it was. After 1 month of using my Credit One VISA w/ limited 1% cash back benefits (again, you gotta start somewhere) and paying my $75 annual fee upfront (Jesus people, it's only $75, and it's SPELLED OUT FOR YOU in the terms), my score went soaring to 670!

I continued using my card sparingly (it only had a $300 starting limit), and then after 2 more months of on-time, in-full payments, my score hit the mid-680s, and I decided to take a shot and go apply for the Chase Freedom Unlimited VISA. My initial plan was to wait until my score went above 700, but after reading some CK reviews and seeing folks that went for it with scores in the 660s and getting approved, I went for it at the beginning of August, and to my delight, Chase approved and granted me a $4000 limit!

It was amazing to feel wanted by a reputable bank like that, and for such a hot item like the CFU card. The 1.5% cash back on every purchase is awesome, and Chase's terms and fees / %'s are comparable...but the sign-up bonus is out of this world! $150 cash back after spending just $500 within 3 months. I met that within 3 1/2 weeks, and should have no trouble at all in paying the card back in full on the first payment due date.

Ok, so talking about Chase Freedom Unlimited was a bit off topic, but I had a reason. My Credit One VISA, and the simple yet very positive experiences that I've had with it, are why I'd recommend this card to other people. And in fact, I already have! Hell, I even went ahead and upgraded my card design for a minimal fee. All you have to do in order to avoid getting nickel-and-dimed is just pay your bill IN FULL and ON TIME. That ain't hard, especially when this card is meant for rebuilding credit and your $$ limit won't likely be very high anyway. Always keep your balance under wraps and you won't have problems with this bank. As one reviewer said, I do kinda sorta dread the day when I have to contact customer service about closing the account, but that won't be for at least another 6 to 7 months. It shouldn't be that big a deal anyway.

Bottom line - DO NOT read all the pish-posh negativity and necessarily believe it right off the bat. Again, like the other people who are actually in the know (about how to use their credit cards, and how to read terms) have said, this company and its products are for those of us out there who have experienced a downward spiral in our credit score/reports, and need a pick-me-up.

I received an offer in the mail and was really excited because I thought this was CAPITAL One! I have two cards in good standing with Capital One so I thought that I was receiving another offer. I logged into the site and IMMEDIATELY realized that this was NOT Capital One. I was somewhat disturbed by that, but did not listen to my gut. I was approved for $400. Ok. Whatever. I should receive a card in about 14 business days. Well, I never received the card. Then out of nowhere here's a bill for $75 for the annual fee. I contacted them and an unfriendly customer service rep, with an accent, told me how many days it takes for the card to arrive. I explained that that time period had come and gone. I was being patient but I'm concerned because the bill beat the card to my home. She was unmoved but I said ok and waited another week.

Now an email arrives informing me to activate my card. What card? I called and spoke to someone and that card was canceled and a new one was on the way. Well, the new card came by spaceship because I received that one quickly... followed by a NEW bill a few days later with a due date scheduled for a week later. I was still debating whether to activate or not. I decided on Aug 18th to activate and called them to inform them that the payment date needed to adjusted because I knew that I shouldn't be paying $75 on Aug 21st for a card that was activated on the 18th. I spoke to two or three CSR's who assured me that it was taken care of and that my NEW payment date would be September 21st.

Fast forward to Aug 27th. Roadtrip with my best friend to see a concert. I'm paying for the room. We arrive to the hotel and guess whose card is declined. No problem, right. I spoke to a CSR with a thick middle eastern accent who states that I have not made my payment and would need to pay it AND the late fee. "No". I explained the situation. She placed me on hold for a few minutes because she was having "difficulties with her computer program" at that time. She came back and informed me that it had all been taken care of and the date was changed and late fee removed. Awesome! Right? No. She informed me that my funds would be available for use in 24-48 hours. What???

I became hysterical. An error that had NOTHING to do with me and EVERYTHING to do with them, requires ME to wait 24-48 hours. I began yelling at this point. "I'm OUT OF TOWN and I'm STANDING AT THE HOTELS FRONT DESK... NOW. So how did you all do me a favor by removing the fee and saying that I can use my card in 2 days. I'm OUT OF TOWN NOW with this card and this whole situation is No fault of mine and NO ONE there can click a button, override, correct the error immediately. Nope!" I was transferred to a SUPERVISOR with an accent. He was of little help. It was ALL scripted. They just continued to state "We have removed the late fee for you and everything" should be fine. "For you we have done xyz". "You will have access to your funds in 24-48 hours".

After losing my religion and entertaining all the hotel lobby guests, I told the supervisor to close the account. I couldn't believe that a company would allow their customer to endure that type of embarrassment and not be able to do anything about it. I told the supervisor that Credit One is a company that I cannot do business with and NO I do not care about the points that will drop on my credit report for closing it. Close it now! My friend ended up paying for the hotel so that I did not have to use my debit card and pay additional fees or use my other cards that I'd already made plans with.

This company made SEVERAL mistakes from the very begining but the last straw was them not being able to help me out of an embarrassing situation that was no fault of my own. I'm sure that had I been using a CAPITAL ONE card, someone would have a quick fix for that. If this sounds like a fun for you, then apply for this card and reap the "benefits".

My personal experience with Credit One Bank has been negative. To be responsible with my credit and paying on time, I have made a very organized plan. Any other credit card I have chosen to have, there have been ways to communicate via secure email with customer service representatives. Some even have live chat windows during certain hours.

In addition, other cards make it much easier to stay on track because they offer auto payment options (and many consider customers who choose this option to be more desired and more responsible *because* the consumer has chosen to take responsible steps to assure payments are made on time every month for the amount required. Those others also offer the option of setting a payment amount ABOVE the minimum due to embrace even more responsibility by reviewing the credit/payoff information they provide each month and how consumers can increase their payments by very minimal amounts yet make greater headway on debts.

Now... having sung the praises of other creditors, I come to this card that I truly wish I had *never* agreed to some time ago. It has been nothing more than an ongoing negative hit. Why? I have tried to find an option *anywhere* on their site to set up recurring or auto payments. It does not exist anywhere. The site will only let you make one payment in 24 hours (common) but there is no option online to set up that auto pay option. Why would a card of this type NOT have this option? Seriously... if the point is to get people to look at their statements and be responsible with payment dates, then why is there even the option to go paperless?

If they are going to offer the option to go paperless (no paper statement coming in the mail) such that the customer gets an email, goes to the site and views the statement, then why can't there be an auto pay option to guarantee that if something happens to the email, there is some software issue, etc... then the monthly amount due is still paid?

I have had several late payment fees (missing the due date by just 24-48 hours). I certainly acknowledge that making sure payments are made is my responsibility. However, the whole *point* of going to e-statements (so I can access anywhere at any time) and *having* auto/recurring payments is to *be* that responsible consumer and take that extra step to make sure correct payment is made by the set due date. Alongside that, the credit score that is reported each month has almost never been correct. Their site has consistently shown a score that has routinely been up to 50 points lower than any other credit monitoring services I employ.

I agree with a number of other people posting negative reviews... the card doesn't really do anything but take money from you and deny you the most basic customer service courtesies to be responsible for your use of credit overall. I would say (personally) TRY ANY OTHER CREDIT CARD OFFER OPTION by researching the options that are out there... the reputation of the creditors, services they offer, interest rates, and *all* of the small print. Even then, as has been posted on this site, I have not found this company to really be customer oriented, there for the consumer, and doing anything of any value that *any* other better credit card can do... for less, much less.

This is one of the worst bank I've ever experienced! On August 3rd I requested a refund check from Credit One that was deposited into my account for a substantial amount of money. It is now September 2nd and I haven't yet received the check. Customer Service gave me 3 different dates, when I asked to cancel check and direct deposit into my checking account - they mentioned an additional 7-10 days before money become available! This financial institution need to be barred - bad enough when I first applied they gave a false advertisement being part of Capital One. What a disgrace!

Updated on 9/23/2016: I called approximately 50 times about my refund check. They continually gave me different date. Last week or so they are now telling me the check was returned back to the third party. Such liars and they are still asking for payment. What should I do???

Maybe it was my fault that I should have looked more carefully before I applied. I called and got my card cancelled, and also asked for a confirmation number (very important). If for some reason they send me a bill, I have the confirmation number as a back-up. I have learned my lesson to look before I leap, I already have a Capital One card and I'm fine with them.

Credit One approved a credit line of 400.00 dollars for which I didn't feel one way or another about then a few months later they increased it to 550. I honestly don't know how this card is helping my credit. At this point I've paid the balance in full and yes I did have to pay a annual fee of about $75.00 dollars or 95.00 I can't remember but I wasn't happy about it either but as I said I am trying to rebuild my credit so I just decided to deal with it. I've been using this card for a year now and have repaid the full balance (proud of me) but as far as helping my credit, I not too happy about that. I check my Experian account once month and don't see a huge increase in my score.

One month I tried to make over three payments and the website asked me to do a security check? That was annoying and the customer service people have very heavy middle eastern accents that are also very annoying. How about employing Americans! Who live in america. I have two other cards, Capital One and Barclays. These are way BETTER, credit limits are much higher and credit limit increases are more significant and frequent. I want to cancel this stupid card but my credit advisor told me that closing a card is bad for your credit. Only thing bad about this card is that I will not use it but I will most likely still be charged for the annual fee anyway.

Like many others in stories and online tales I have read, I didn't take my credit seriously. I learned late in life that it's very important to have good credit. Recently after some hard work in bringing my score to a half decent level, I gathered up the courage to apply for a credit card. Never had one before and I'm in my mid-30's. Credit One immediately approved me for $500 and stated it was pending investigation before being sent my card. Feeling lucky I applied for a Chase card as well. What do you know, $5000 limit! I was on vacation for a week when I applied for both.

When I returned home I found my Chase Sapphire Preferred card already arrived. There was a letter from Credit One asking for copies of my DL, SS Card and Pay Stubs or W2. For a $500 card??? Letter also stated if I don't respond they will consider the offer declined. I will call them to make sure because I read reviews where some were charged fees anyway, but we shall see. Just to see, I applied for a USAA Amex Card and was approved immediately for $3000. Granted I am a USAA member for over 15 years now and have two auto loans with them that are never late.

I won't be accepting the Credit One card. Obviously. They seem a little shady to me after reading reviews and seeing how easily I got two much better cards. Don't settle for Credit One. I'm sure if you really need to use them they may help a little but you will be buying your credit with them. Be patient if you can and try a secured card from your bank or credit union. Maybe even Capital One Secured if necessary.

I keep receiving pre-approval letters in the mail from Credit One Bank. First thing that is highly suspicious is that they attempt to make their logo look like a more reputable company, Capital One. If I hadn't carefully looked it over, I might have mistaken them for Capital One. When I opened the letter I saw all the outrageous fees, interest rates, etc. that accompany this card. Another red flag for scam artists is their web address. It is a series of random letters and numbers, rather than a domain under their company name... fishy. On top of that, when you go to their website the very first thing they ask you for is your social security number. There are no other pages or options. That seems like a trap to steal and sell people's identities. Overall, everything seems very suspicious. I've never applied for their card, but I continuously receive these letters.

I attempted to call to ask them to stop sending pre-approval letters and customer service was absolutely no help. They immediately asked for account information, and after I told them I don't have an account the rep asked for my SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER. I was baffled. I tried to explain again that I didn't have a card and would simply like to stop receiving mail offers from them. The rep still asked AGAIN for my social security number. I don't know if she misunderstood me because of a language barrier (she had a thick accent). No one needs my social to take me off their mailing list. I don't have a good feeling about this company at all.

After a failed attempt over the phone, I tried to find any way to stop mail on their website, but like I mentioned before there is only one page that asks for your social security number and pre-approval number. Upon reading other reviews on ConsumerAffairs, I'm happy I trusted my intuition and skipped this company. I have my first credit card ever with the real Capital One Bank and they charge none of those outlandish fees and at least I know I can trust them. If you're considering Credit One, don't do it. Apply for a Capital One platinum secured card, they will help build/rebuild your credit without having to worry about fraud or identity theft.

I got the Credit One Credit Card a few months ago. Trying to establish my credit, a merchant that I had made a purchase from them using the Credit One card, decides to charge an extra amount of money other than what I had signed and agreed to pay (they sent me an e-mail letting me know about the future charge. I called them and told them I did not agree with it and I would not authorize it). But just to make sure they didn't charge my card I called Credit One to let them know that I never authorized a larger amount from what the merchant was trying to charge me, and I asked them not to let that charge go through, (the merchant had my card information) and Credit One decides to tell me that they are going to let the charge go through, that they don't have the option to stop it, and that I should send a letter explaining why I don't agree with the future charge.

I told them that's why I was calling them, to let them know why, but they insisted that I should write a letter, send it via regular mail. I asked for their email address to make it faster. They don't have that option either. I told them I was their client, not the merchant, and yet they decided to help the merchant not me. So since I didn't owe Credit One, because I had paid my balance in full a week before this, I told them to go ahead and cancel my account. They said, ok. After a few minutes they said it's been cancel. I asked them again, "do I owe you any money?" They said "NO, your balance is ZERO." So I asked again, "is my account closed, cancel?" They said YES. But a few days later they send me a new card by mail. So I called them and asked them why did they send me a new card. They said, they apologize but it was their representative's fault that she never cancel my account. Se just cancel my card but they generated a new one.

In the meantime, they went ahead and paid the merchant that I told them I didn't authorize any future payments, and if I want to cancel that card I have to authorize them to cancel that card. Now they say that I owe them, which of course I DO NOT. There is a recorded conversation about it, so I am going to use it against them, because I canceled my account when it had a zero balance. They said it was canceled. It is not my fault they made a mistake, and they better not mess with my credit.

This is the last straw with this bank. Yes, I should have read the reviews. I know. I have had this bank as my credit card since my divorce and ending in bankruptcy. I got the card because I wanted to rebuild my credit and this was easy to get. I have always charged and paid off. I ran into some difficulty financially recently and used the card and was not able to pay it off right away. Now the story...

In June my account was hacked. A payment was made in the tune of $900 and expressed paid so a $9.95 charge, then they proceeded to charge a small amount at a 7-Eleven, then a larger one and then an even larger one all in Florida. I went to use my card and it was declined, that is how I found out. Called the bank and spoke to someone I could barely understand (as always). Took them three weeks to address the issue and several more phone calls. In the meantime they keep calling me because my account was over the limit.

I finally get that straightened out and lo and behold it is still over because of the $9.95 fee. And of course a new account was created with the over the limit amount. Called to get that straightened out. By this point it shows in my credit report that I was over the limit with this bank. Thursday I go to make a payment as I refused to make one until they took the $9.95 payment (my payment was not due until the 12th). Lo and behold I press the make a payment button and the site is "under construction". I tried 3 more times that day to process a payment and it was still under construction. What other bank does this during the day?

Friday I attempt to make a payment which is the 12th and it lets me. I choose what account I want it to come out of and I get a confirmation number. I refused to call because they charge you a huge fee to make payment over the phone. That same day I keep getting calls from Credit One but I ignore. I was woken up today by a call from them and I decide to answer. They want a payment. I tell them I made one yesterday. They say it is not showing. I go on the website and look and it is not there. I proceed to explain how the site was not working Thursday but it was Friday and allowed me to process payment. I attempt to make another payment (just to see) and the drop down for account to come out of shows blank. My checking or savings info is not there. I tell the guy I will make a payment over the phone and he better not charge me and to also take the late fee off they just added on there. He stated he would.

I made the rep get a manager that spoke good English first. I then told him I have had nothing but trouble lately with this bank and that I will pay my account off and will never use it again. I have even cut my cards up. My credit report will probably show I was late at this point. I have never been late. I want to close the account but I know that lowers your score. One pissed off customer. I never have trouble with Capital One.

Updated on 09/07/2016: Just had one card hacked in July. Now my second smaller amount one was hacked. After my first experience, I cut my cards up because the customer service and their delay in taking care of the problem was a horrible experience. Someone once again made a payment of my balance amount to a tee and with the express charge of $9.95. I had set the account up to alert me of any payment or charge. I was alerted by email on the payment. I immediately called to explain that I did not make the payment.

First of all, I could not understand the person but I managed to get my problem across. He was going to close this account and open a new one and stated he would send my new card in the mail. I told him I did not want a new card. I will never use it and once they are paid off I may just close it even if my credit is affected. He stated they could not do that, they have to send the card. I asked to speak to his supervisor. He left me on hold for a brief time and came back to tell me his supervisor was busy. I then asked if he was Indian and he said yes that is where the call center is based.

I think someone in the company is stealing the card info, just my opinion. They know the balance to the tee and then proceed to make a payment that is no good and then charge on the account. Once that is all said and done the payment is no good and I get a letter stating the payment "I" made was not good. The customer service rep was rude and condescending. I will never ever deal with them if they are the last credit card company on this earth!!!

So one of the reasons I was offered a pre-approval from Credit One today is of course, because of my low fico, yet slowly climbing back to the 600 mark. So basically, I received my pre-approval, opened it up and checked it out. I was like OK, pre-approval. Let's see what it's about. I go to look for the web address to log-in and enroll and that's when it hit me... This isn't Capital One... I went to the website www.KzB4Ln.com which immediately grabbed my attention. This seemed pretty scam official based on that web domain. Once I actually started looking to log in is when I noticed the company font and logo are flat out pushing the lines of fraud and identity theft of Capital one. I'm no copyright lawyer, but if I were Capital One, I'd be pissed off on how these guys are infringing upon their logo. I basically opened this pre-approval because I thought it was CapOne, who I liked when I was a customer 4 years ago.

I'm all for free trade, but these guys are fake, phony, corporate low-life. Moving on, before I enrolled for the pre-approval because the website was nothing more than a single page, flat out asking for your social security number, which was another fraud alarm going off in my head. I don't know who these guys are from Adam, and they want my social straight out the gate... This could be a website from Russia or something phishing for info for all I know. So held off and did some digging. Saw hundreds of reviews all saying this company is horrible. Customer service is horrible and lousy and based overseas.

I called customer service and simply asked her where they are located and she told me the Philippines for crying out loud. No offense to them, but any respectable company that's in the business of handling your money and your credit, needs to recognize the necessity to have local/Stateside customer service, like bank of America, or Wells Fargo or something. Bottom line... I got this in the mail. Was excited at first. Did some reading, did some research, and concluded that this company isn't the route to me building my credit.

I deposited $300 into a secure credit with a reputable bank (large bank) that has the same interest rate as this card. I'm getting the same results and incremental fico score increases periodically, as this one would claim to do but without the BS that comes with this card. I haven't had a need for credit in some time, and am pleased with the card I'm currently using, and customer service with any of the large banks we all know is pretty good, even on a bad day, compared to the crap these people in Henderson, nv are trying to pull. Their stock is only at $2 a share anyway... What kind of bank is that!!?? It's a penny stock. RIMM has better market cap value than these clowns.

I signed up for an account JUST to post this warning. I have had a Credit One credit card for about a year and regretted it very early on. Their fees are insane and minimum payments never seem to go towards principal like they do on another card I have with a different company. This is a terrible card in my opinion for rebuilding credit as it seems to put you only further in debt.

But the WORST part about doing business with them is the unauthorized payment they deducted from my bank account last week. They charged my debit card $709.95 out of the blue, putting my bank account severely overdrawn. To be clear, I do not have automatic payments set up, the charge was not the balance, and I did not authorize a charge for a different amount.

I called them up in a complete panic. Customer service is the worst. At first they told me that they didn't charge anything, then when I said they absolutely did they tried to tell me I authorized it. It was hard for me to remain calm. Eventually they agreed to return the charge but that it would take 7-10 days to process. Unbelievable.

I called my bank and filed a claim so that I'll be refunded bank fees. I also canceled my debit card so that Credit One can't do this to me again. I still don't have an explanation for the charge! They are the absolute worst. I have a credit card with another company of a similar sounding name and they are a MUCH better company and card. Beware of Credit One and avoid at all costs!!

I hate Credit One Bank for the mere reason that they constantly are charging fees, and then if you forget to pay the fees and make a late payment, then they charge a late fee on top of that. Plus, the interest rate is outrageous. Use another credit card issuer if you can. Credit One Bank is not worth the hassle.

We had zero balance on our card and one day noted it had a $500 charge at Ulta in another state. Went to retrieve the card to call them and could not find the card so we immediately called and informed them of our lost/stolen card and the fraudulent charge. They told us that they would send a new card but it takes 30-60 days to "research". THIRTY TO SIXTY days. That is not exception. We are beginning a home refinance process and this charge is showing up. We had had fraud before on our cards with Chase and BOA and they immediately removed the fraudulent charge and did what they had to do on their end, making us not responsible. Not these idiots. Now, they expect us to pay this charge, and you can bet when we don't pay the card, they will report it late on our credit report which is not a good thing right now. How can they even legally do this?

Just beware that no matter who steals or uses your card or for how much, they expect you to pay it. Such a ripoff. You call them and all you get is people who barely speak English and basically read off a cue card "I am sorry Ms. for your inconvenience. Please be advised that we are doing the best we can." Blah, blah. 30-60 days to research. Closed the account, and if this charge is not removed, we will get an attorney. It is pretty bad when youre not only victimized by the person who stole your card but then youre victimized a second time by your credit card company. They need to change their policies or their company will go down the tubes quickly.

They wanted a letter from a notary in the new acc #. I told them no, because they had been getting my payments with no problems since Dec. So I asked them to unlock my online account so I could see what has been happening with it. For 3 months they told me the same story and that yes, they will unlock my online account. I told them to run up a flag pole and stuff themselves. I paid them off, and yet they still wanted a letter and in the meantime taking my auto payments w/o notifying me that my account was paid in full.

They, like other companies, have a call center in India. If anyone knows the frustration of trying to explain to foreigners anything, it sucks. There is no other numbers to call, and the supervisors are just as bad as the call taker. Had one person tell me "too bad, I did the deed". If I was in that call center I'd wring his neck! I use a text to speech reading program to help me in reading the reviews that are posted. I found out about Credit One Bank through doing some research. When I had successfully made my first payment to them, I found an additional $4.00 balance after I paid off my full balance of $299.00. Every time I call them, I don't get any representatives from America. They are all from India or somewhere else overseas. I can't understand a word they are saying. I have called them back in July of this year 4 times and asked if my account could be closed because I don't like the way they do business. I also tried to attempt to close down my account this month. And they refuse to do it. I'm writing this review to say to anyone who is trying to build their credit, I would strongly suggest that you don't go with this bank.

Updated on 06/15/2017: I know that I've posted a review on Credit One bank. I got a call from them awhile back saying that my account that was closed was going to be charged a fee. I don't know why since I closed it. The person was nice. I still don't feel comfortable with doing business with them. They had ripped me off. I'm totally blind and unable to see. I get social security disability for my income. I'm actively looking for a job. I haven't been able to find a reputable credit card company. I don't recommend credit one bank to anyone who is looking to rebuild their credit. Because you can hardly understand them. I'm looking for a reputable credit card company. My mom is my conservator. Are there any good credit companies that are out there to help those people who have poor to bad credit?

However this isn't the card to give to anyone for emergencies! I paid off my balance of 635.00 on July 29th at 4 in the afternoon and even paid an extra 10.00 dollars for their "express" payment service. However when my husband tried to buy gas the card came up denied! You can imagine my panic at this point... husband on the road, stranded, no money!

I called Credit One, only to speak with two individuals in INDIA, telling me that since I used my bank account to make my payment (really, how else am I supposed to make a payment, carrier pigeon?), that my funds wouldn't be available for at least a week! And this is EXPRESS payment! They assured me that by midnight, they would generously give me 100.00 and the rest of my funds would be available in 5-7 days. Again this is EXPRESS payment that I paid an additional 10.00 for!! I am cancelling this card, and even though my credit will take a hit for cancelling a card, I would rather do that than put up with the crappy customer service and the **, the company gives to its customers!

For them to even approve me... or most people complaining here is a big step towards rebuilding credit without getting a secured card. Did I know about the $75 fee? Yes, it's in print. Did I know about the service fees? Yes, it's in print. If you use their card modestly, pay off the balance and wait, you will be rewarded. First, by a higher credit limit, then after a while, being able to be approved for regular credit cards with no fees and lower interest. But yeah, if you can't read and can't make payments on time, I guess they're horrible.

They said they did. I received a call today telling me that my payment of $52 was past due. I am not sure how I owe $52 when I paid my balance in full 2 months ago and my card was cancelled. I was told that it was interest charges. Lol how am I getting interest charges on a ZERO balance? The bill collector or customer service person or whoever it was, was ridiculous. I was trying to ask where the balance had come from and all she kept saying was 'how will you be taking care of this today?' I could not understand a word she was saying. English was obviously not her first language which is okay but I am pretty sure the only thing she did know how to say was 'how will you be taking care of this today'.

I logged in online and it said that my account was still active. I still don't know where the $52 was but I paid it and I called them back and told them that I was going to sit on the phone with them until it was confirmed that my account was cancelled. I am certain that if I could understand their customer service representatives that I would probably know what the charges were from. I was so frustrated and annoyed that I just hung up on her. Why is it showing that the calls are coming from North Carolina when clearly they are not?

I would love to come work for your company collecting your late payments. I will happily do collections in Mexico. I am as qualified to collect from your Spanish Speaking customers. I had about 5 minutes of Spanish in high school. I can fluently speak two sentences. Shut the door and excuse me, I just farted. I will never understand why companies that are operating in the US are hiring people from other countries to do their collections. Not only does it take jobs away from American citizens but it also makes absolutely no sense.

On July 27, 2016, I had a very unfortunate and dire circumstance to occur to me while out of town, three hours away. I had the Credit One Card to pay for my out of town travel expenses. I chose it over Capital One because I had paid off the balance of 792.00. However, once I got to the hotel and it was not approved for lodging, I called their customer service number and got someone who did not speak very good English and was not helpful in addressing my concern about overriding the system to accommodate my charges to hotel since balance was paid in full. I even spoke with a supervisor who spoke with my bank.

The banker verified that amount had been deducted from my account and that it would be processed tonight in their system. He said that he could not accommodate my dilemma by releasing funds to pay for my lodging until 4 to 5 days had elapsed to verify it in their system. I made him aware I was stranded and homeless and if he could please make an emergency one time accommodation so that I would not have to travel 3 hours back to my place. He apologized and said no he could not! I made him aware that I have always paid on time and paid more than the minimum too and had received increased credit lines because of this. He thanked me for this good creditworthiness but said there was nothing he could do to help me. So, the hotel did not want me to be homeless for the night and said they would take cash in this situation.

I was not homeless because of the Marriott's high standard on customer service and that is why I shall stay a loyal member and customer after 20 years! In regards to Credit One, I shall close my account and tear up their card immediately due to the fact that this card won't serve me a useful purpose ever again! If their customer service agent and supervisor were unwilling to save me from my dire circumstance after paying in full and having funds verified with my bank, then I do not ever want a card that does not provide exceptions and support and care to someone who had an oversight and not provide a truly considerate option, even for one time!

Also, I do not like giving my money to a company that could care less about whether I am safe or homeless! Only about their system accepting funds for payment that have already been verified as deducted for payment to them by a reputable bank, Wells Fargo! Cut up this card if you have paid your balance and give a bad review if you have had a bad experience of any kind, which I know you have since there are so many of them on this site! Good riddance to this company and card officially at the end of this month!

For those of you who have received a Credit One Bank pre-approved application in the mail but have not yet responded to it, READ THIS REVIEW. The vast majority of people who have posted negative reviews about Credit One Bank cards simply did not read their cardholder agreements. They got caught up in late fees or whatnot and are now calling this bank "a bunch of shady crooks." Granted, I'm sure their customer service does suck if they're outsourcing to employees who speak poor English. I dread the day I have to call these guys to close my account (which I intend to do, as these types of credit cards are meant simply to rebuild credit and are probably of little benefit to keep long-term due to monthly service fees that arise after your first year).

That said, here is my personal experience. I was reluctant to apply for one of these cards but I had been without a credit card for a good 6 years and felt it was a good time to start reestablishing my credit. I read the Credit One Bank pre-approved application before submitting it as well as my cardholder agreement, twice. I knew there was an annual fee so the $75 balance was of no surprise to me when I immediately activated an online profile in order to access my account 24/7 from home, work or anywhere else I can access the internet.

I was never late on payments. I figured out quickly (as many other apparently haven't) that you can make online payments for free so long as you use their standard billing option which can take up to 3-4 days to post. I made payments at least 10 days before they were due to avoid any slip-ups. If you are responsible enough to read your cardholder agreement, understand it and make payments in a timely manner, you should have no problems maintaining this card and rebuilding your credit.

Within 4 months of opening my Credit One Bank credit account, I received a pre-approved offer from Capital One, which I immediately jumped on. I was approved by Capital One in minutes and now I have 2 credit cards in good standing. I do intend to close the Credit One Bank account before I hit my first year mark as by then it will have more than served its purpose to continue to increase my credit score.

As the few others on here who left positive reviews for Credit One Bank said before, this particular type of credit card is aimed at those with poor credit scores. Of course there will be some negatives and hoops to jump through such as recurring annual fees that increase after one year and get broken up into monthly service charges from that point on, high APR, and a great deal of strictness on late payments. These types of banks take risks offering credit lines to people with bad credit. That's just the nature of the beast. This is comparable to how high-risk auto insurance policies work for those who have questionable driving records.

Lastly, for those individuals who got "confused" and thought they were applying for a Capital One credit card, I really don't know what to tell you. I mean I can't walk into a Taco Bell thinking it was a Del Taco, order food and then later complain that it's not Taco Bell. The mistake of confusing Credit One Bank for Capital One falls on those of you who made the mistake to begin with. Sorry.

First of all he told me that its a ZERO balance and I just can't see it. Interesting! HMMM... Then he tells me that I'm going to get the 75 rebilled. I said "that is 1/3 of my credit card limit of 300.00!!! (close enough) and that's an outrage, it should be 25.00 annual fee on a small limit like mine." He said there is nothing he can do about it.

THEN, he tells me that if I don't use the card or pay it within 30 days, then I will be cancelled and closed. He made it VERY clear that I have to CHARGE An amount OTHER THAN the 75.00 fee in order to keep my card open, and when I asked him how often I have to charge in order to stay active and open, he gave me the runaround. I asked 7-8 times VERY clearly, making examples to him and he tried to give me the runaround again and again, and I finally was able to confirm that if I DO NOT USE THE CARD EVERY 90 days after the first 30 day initial charge that needs to be made, that my card will be CLOSED! Due to inactivity!!!

I asked if the 75.00 annual fee would be credited or prorated (ISN'T IT AN ANNUAL FEE? MEANING TO KEEP THE CARD OPEN ONE YEAR???) He said "NO!" So, this means that I have to charge something within 30 days or lose it, pay 75 annual fee, and every 90 days remember to charge so it's still active forever! I DON'T THINK SO! I first had asked him if I do not charge anything other than the 75 annual fee for the first 90 days, would they bill me interest on the annual fee and he said "YES!" That's stupid. If I don't want to charge and it's a fee, they should not be allowed to bill me a fee on a fee! That was before he said I have to charge right away. This is so they can rip you off and bill you money on the fee. I'm VERY SMART. They are messing with the wrong **!

So, I'm closing it, but now I'm afraid because I read where another person got bad credit even though they didn't use it ever, so I hope that doesn't happen!!! What happened to honesty? REALLY? 300 limit, 75 fee, is 3 months' worth of minimum payments just to pay the fee alone without interest. Omg, then I'm forced to charge right away and every 3 months and if I forget, then I lose my only CC and the 75 I paid plus the other crap just to play games to keep it open. REALLY? NO WAY!

Come on, let's file a class action. I work for the courts/lawyers and I do PI work so email me, **. We will fight them. Let's get enough of us together to file this class action. I have lawyers backing me. Let's do it!!! I'm Tricia. Let's get this done and get people's credit back and fees back and clear this mess up! Please feel free to contact me, but not to solicit me for anything. This contact is to take care of this fraudulent company only. Thanks.

I have been with Credit One for years now. They offered me a Mastercard (already had a Visa under Credit One) so I took it. Unfortunately my card was stolen in April of 2016 and Reported the same day it was stolen. It took them a week to send me a new card, a MONTH to investigate and put the charges back onto my account. Fast forward 3 months later, now July 2016, I see the same stolen charges charged on my NEW CARD! I called. Had to argue with first the representative, then the supervisor, then Corporate. Corporate told me that I did not sign the affidavit and that needs to be signed and sent back (not knowing this in the beginning). They really need better training and communication to the consumers when dealing with stolen credit card issues. Once the cards have been paid completely I will be cancelling. Worst Credit service I have ever encountered. Complete waste of time.

I've had 100% negative experience with these guys. Having trouble deciding if they are intentionally evil or just incompetent. First of all, they are clearly trying to appear as Capital One which is why I foolishly filled out the form they sent stating I was pre-approved for $1,500. My actual credit limit was a whopping $300, nonetheless we put it into action as we are trying to build our credit back. When I got the first bill and saw that they start charging interest on the day you make a purchase, I decided I would simply put the card away and never use it.

Unlike Capital One, who has about the best software I've seen so far (in terms of online and mobile apps) Credit One is working in the dark ages. No mobile apps at all, just a really bad website which I tried to register on, but was unsuccessful. I've been writing software for about thirty years now, so I feel like I'm qualified to do this task, but I was no match for their crack team of developers.

Last week I got a bill (in the mail) from Credit One, which as you might expect came as a surprise considering I had taken it out of rotation. My wife had accidentally attached the card (looks a lot like Capital One remember) to an Amazon account and a couple purchases got put on it. Now, the thing that has me just a bit peeved is the fact that the bill came with late fees. Yes, this was the first bill I received from them for these charges, and it came with late fees. Pretty much the second I had the bill in my hand, I started getting (collection) calls from them. I answered a few times but there's never anyone on the other end. Eventually it'll just hang up on you. Obviously I have no choice but to cancel this card, which is really bad because the end result is the opposite of my intended goal -- improving my credit. I'm writing this review with no goal other than to educate others before they make the same mistake I did.

I have been reading these customer complaints, several them involved either someone paying late, falling behind or going over the limit. I've had this card for over a year to rebuild my credit. It has moved my credit score from where was. I had five bad years in a row like a domino effect. First company went out of business then fell behind so on so forth. I have never had a problem with this company making a payment, and yes they charge a fee to get your credit card as so many others do that they are there to help you rebuild credit. They have given me a second card, a MasterCard with no fees attached to it because I paid on time, never went over the limit.

My credit score is at 700 thanks to this credit card. They have helped me tremendously. Never had a problem when I had to call them which is been only two times since I've had that card. I read one of your reviews. It said they you had trouble paying online. It would not accept an advance payment. Yes they charge a fee for an Express payment but not for a regular payment. I'd pay it online every time, no problem. I don't know what you people are doing to have complaints with the company, but I have not had one problem from day one with them. As a matter fact I'd like to thank them for giving me the card to help me start over again. Years ago I used Premier Bank to start off my credit. They charge a fee, rebuilding credit can come with a fee sometimes. My second credit card has no fee through them.

I haven't had any surprises. For a credit card for someone with poor credit, it's a decent card. I don't expect benefits like a top tier card such as Amex or Discover; after all, I did start out with poor credit!! But with this card's help, I'm quickly on my way to one. The second year Credit One decides to change the annual fee to a monthly payment instead of a one lump-sum, upfront payment. I received a credit increase because I was never late, my credit card was paid off, never charged anything for 6+ months, no reason to open the statement. My credit monitoring app notified me two months of delinquent reports to my credit agency and late fees associated from Credit One. I called Credit One Bank which removed the late fees since I have never been late, but could not fix the delinquent posts to my credit report. To prevent this from happening again in the future I must call or pay $8.25 manually every single month. Yes, that's right, Credit One is only credit card company that does not allow you to set up automatic recurring payments. I wonder why that is???

I'll be honest, I tried to use Credit One Bank credit card to build credit as I was in my early 20's, had a child and was taught to establish credit, start with a low credit limit and try to pay back on time. I messed up I'll admit. When I told my parents the APR was 24.99% they flipped out. They told me all their banks and credit cards were no more than 14%, but this was the worst mistake in my entire life dealing with this company. I could never get and I mean never get someone that spoke decent English. I'm a U.S. resident from CT. My first mistake was I didn't know it was out of Las Vegas. I should of read the fine print, didn't know anything of a credit card fee 9.35 a month for using their card, plus 25 cents to every dollar I spend. So even when I didn't use the card I had to pay 9 bucks a month.

And they started me with a 300 dollar credit limit but really was 225 because my first payment was 75 dollars, then after that was a min of 25$. They reel you in with the great credit limit you can start off with but really isn't that amount. I did mess up payments with them, I'll be honest. Ruined my life. I know they are foreign related somehow. It was my biggest life learning lesson, never trust a credit card that's not through a big legit Bank. Please everyone please do your research before getting a credit card, if you want to establish credit go to a place you can trust. I don't even know how they got me all the way on the East Coast, they couldn't even spell my name right on the actual credit card. My name is Jonathan they spelled it Janathan.

I wish the Better Business Bureau would hire someone to call In and talk to their customer service Reps and see how awful they are. They were so rude and mean to me it was insane. Usually if you call somewhere it's press 1 for English or press 2 for Spanish. It was like pressing 0 for Middle East, no offense. I can see if I called 1 time and it was someone that couldn't speak good English but every time, and when they pass you on to another person that's their "higher up" and it's another foreign person no coincidence. I'm just so angry right now, years of dealing with this ruined my pockets and credit score.

I've been a customer with this company since January. I'm very dissatisfied but it looks like I'm not the only one. First of all, their percentage rates are unbelievable. Second, I have another credit card that I pay online the same way I paid this one and for my other one the payment is posted and available the next day. For Credit One, it post about a week after you pay it. That's inexcusable. My third complaint is that the customer service I've received was absolutely worthless. I had asked for a paper bill to be sent to my home so I could pay my bill. The last time I tried to pay my bill online, they said that I had insufficient funds and charged me a $25.00 late fee.

I called my bank and they said that I didn't have insufficient fund but that their records didn't show Credit One requesting a payment. So now that I'm pretty sure I'm being swindled I've decided to pay with a check through the mail. Now the problem is how can you get a bill sent to your home. I argued with this guy from customer service for 20 mins. and he finally agreed to send me a bill in my email. I waited for over a week with nothing.

Also something that was fishy was when the guy finally agreed to give me a bill in my email which I never received by the way he told me I had to make a $75.00 payment when on my online summary it says $50.00. So my question is, are they trying to get extra money from me and I know the answer to this "yes". Now I've had to resort to writing them a letter requesting a paper statement because you can't contact them online at all. I'm also dealing with a million and one phone calls from different states. And still no bill. I'm starting to wonder whose really calling me. I think they should be looked into cause they are cheating their customers and I'm questioning if they are legitimate.

I am in receipt of an account statement from your institution claiming that I owe $425.87 I have no documentation from you indicating in any way, other than a late fee of $35.00, interest charged of $7.05, and an “ANNUAL FEE 06/16 THROUGH 06/16” – whatever that means, of $8.25. In fact, I have not received a statement for this credit card that describes any type of goods or services purchased in well over 6 months.

Judging from what I’ve read online by other people describing their experiences with your lending practices (CONSUMERAFFAIRS.org is a great place to start), it seems I’m not at all alone in being expected to pay you an incredible amount of money for simply being fooled into thinking I was dealing with a legitimate lending institution/credit card company or bank. Obviously, as the more than two thirds of others have expressed with their one-star ratings (many saying they wish they could give zero or negative stars), that’s not the case. I have not used this card to buy anything in well over six months.

In fact, on several occasions I’ve been told the transaction I was trying to complete with an online retailer had been declined even though my account was in good standing at the time and all required information had been entered correctly. As a result, I stopped trying to use the card for such purposes and relegated it to occasional small purchases at local retailers such as hardware stores and the like. The last such purchase was at Home Depot in Encinitas, CA sometime last October. I bought roughly $28 worth of garden soil, received a statement from you shortly thereafter, and paid the statement amount in full. After that I did not receive anything, either via email or USPS from you for months.

Then, in March of this year, you sent me an account statement saying I owed you roughly $189, with no description of what constituted that figure or any explanation of why this was the first statement you had sent me in nearly 6 months. I called your customer service number & asked for an explanation of this accounting and was told by that person they could not go into those details of my account. I then stated I wanted the account closed immediately and that I be sent, in writing, how this figure was reached as well as a date for when you last sent me anything regarding my account. Since then, you have simply sent (suddenly with far greater regularity) statements imposing more fees and interest on that still unfounded dollar amount and on an account which is now closed.

Again, as I’ve found by reading reviews of your company, this is not just par for the course as far as how you treat your customers – confounding and usurious account charges, bullying anyone who dares to call and question those charges, and, finally tarnishing credit ratings for people who are obviously trying to rebuild their credit (why else would they accept your absurd $75 fee just for opening an account with you) – but apparently the only method you know of to make money in this endeavor. Now you want me to pay more than twice that March amount (which had no validity in the first place) while still providing me no information as to how you came to that figure.

Because your account statements and other communications with me have been spotty at best in the time I’ve been an account holder, I would like you to provide me with all account statements for this account going back one year, to June, 2015. I would like to know every charge, payment and any and all other activity (including declined purchases) from that same time frame. If you can identify any charges I did incur to my account in the way of goods and services purchased, I will certainly pay for those charges, sans any late fees or other penalties you failed to make me aware of until quite recently. If you are unable to this, I will assume our relationship is done in full and I will be paying you nothing. Thank you. Regretful "card" holder.

First, you have to know they begin charging interest as soon as you charge a purchase. I decided to cancel my card after one year, when I saw the annual fee was billed. It was only $8.25, but I no longer wanted the card. I called and canceled, but they would not reverse the charge. These guys are shysters. They don't warn you, it just happens. The amount of time and aggravation aren't worth, especially since you can't reach them because the phone calls go to India. Banks have become more like gangsters. I feel like I have been mugged. Stay away from this barracuda bank.

The Government need to do something about this bank. It keep scamming the people and charging for all sort of reason. Canceling them is more damaging to your credit score than having them; therefore you are stuck. This bank charge me a $10.63 "Purchasing interest fee" even when I have a "0" balance. I haven't use the card in months. A fee for what? The government seriously need to investigate into this bank card business practices.

I have never had such a terrible credit card. I got it to help build my credit after my divorce. I can never speak to anyone on the United States. I am never told the truth and always harassed days before my due date. I always pay my bill on time, always. Oh but this is the best part. They charge you to get an increase in your credit limit. Terrible card. Do not get one. You will regret.

I had called to see why I had an outstanding balance on my account, they told me my checking account from my bank bounced and that I had insignificant funds so my payment did not go through. I had asked them how they would know that when I bank with a different bank the name them. They said I had to provide a letter of recommendation with my account and routing number on it. Are you kidding me?! Do you guys realize how unsafe that is? When I told them no, they said they are closing my account and charging me an additional 25$ for a late fee. Seriously? I still have a week to make a payment! I asked them to email me my bank statement but they couldn't even though I was set up for paperless statements. So I told them I wouldn't make a payment until I receive my statement in the mail.

Well after I had received it in the mail, they were charging me an additional 119$ in fees! I had asked what they were for and no one could answer me. When I was explaining what was on my statement, the representative hung up on me!! So I called back and demanded to speak to someone higher than their supervisor. They were all "in a meeting." DO NOT BANK WITH THESE PEOPLE! SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE! They are a waste of time and money!

I was shocked when I got my first bill on a card I had not even used yet and it said $75 due. I figured it is what it is and I would pay it. I didn't get paid for another week so I waited. Starting on the day it was due I would get called at the very least 7 times a day (from a local SC number). The person on the other line was not from America of course and was asking me all kinds of personal questions. Again I wasn't even one day late when they started calling. Then I went online to make a payment and it said I had to pay an extra $9.95 to make a payment. I then called them to make the payment and they also said I had to pay the $9.95 plus the payment plus a $25 late fee...

I haven't even used my card yet and they are already trying to charge me $110?!? I have been trying to build my credit and I don't make much money. How am I ever gonna build it if I cant get rid of this card and its outrages charges!? I explained that my bill stated I only owed $25... The online account stated I only owed $50 to be current and have paid the next month, the person on the phone however, refused to take less that $110. They told me they couldn't take any less because now I was 5 days past due and I had to pay off my balance!

All my other cards, synchrony and cap one didnt need that. On top of it they charge a fee of $25 for them to update my name. What??? Unreal. They charge to post your payment to your account early. When they are credited the payment the money is not available for days after! Terrible company. Not to mention I am never later and some branch keeps calling me 10x a day and wont tell me why. I found out today on June 07 they closed my account by calling customer service. I called them on the 27th of May, I had a high balance over my 450.00 dollar limit. I paid a payment of 159.00 plus their 9.95 fee to do the transaction on the internet. Then I called Credit One customer service and asked them if I paid off the entire balance if the card would go back to 450.00. They said it would at midnight that day. I kept watching my account and I seen no credit on it. So when I called the gentleman informed me that it was closed because of nonpayment for 90 days. Now how can that be possible when I made a payment on Wednesday the 25th.

I got this card in 2012 and pretty much kept up with the payments then I started getting all the increases like everyone else although you had to pay for them like 19.99 for 200 increase. I got all the way up to 1300 with this card and at the same time my credit score started to go up and I also got more cards so I stopped using the card. At the end of 2015 I had paid the card off place it in my drawer and never used it again. In March 2016 I was trying to get financed for a house and my credit was pulled and it showed that I have a 60 day late charge from Credit One. I called them to find out what it was. They told me it was from a late for the yearly fee for having the card. I then explain to them that I never got a bill or email from them. This is where the fun began.

I then talked to the first customer service rep and she explained that I was suppose to check my bill every month through the computer. I told the rep. that I paid the card off and that I haven't gotten a bill through my email or one sent to my house or a phone call. She then said that one was sent through my email. I told her that I checked and there is no bill. I then asked why was it high the bill was 100 dollars she said late fees. I then asked "How much was it before?" She said "8 dollars." I told her "You guys put this on my credit for 8 dollars and didn't give me a bill." I then asked to speak to her manager and told him the same story and then come back and says "Oh we show it's correct and we called you." I told him "Tell me the phone number on file" and then gave me a number I had 5 years ago. I told him "You called the wrong number, and I had been changed my number with you guys, and I still never gotten a bill."

He then give me someone else. Tell this guy the same story and then he says "It's correct we called you." I then asked him for my number he then starts to shoot of my new number. I then explained "That's not what the last person said and the person before that told me I had to check my email." I then got pissed and closed my acct. They did not want to take the 60 day late off my credit. So then the next day I get a phone call trying to collect the money. I then told them to send the bill in the mail. Right after that for a whole week I then started getting phone calls for the bill of the closed acct. WTF. Now you wanna call me. Before for 8 dollars you didn't give a **, and know this acct may cost me my house because the 60 days late is so recent it's dropped my score. Stay away from this card and the people here - their English is horrible.

I do not like this company at all. First of all, I have been called from all over the country at least 200 times at all times of day in the last 2 months. I was under the impression that credit agencies were not to supposed to harass consumers that way. Second, I have already paid my account in full but because of late fees and all other fees they are charging, I now owe more than what the original amount was. They get a regular payment from me each month. My credit score has been dropped so low that I cannot even apply for another one to pay them off. I am also enrolled in credit protection and WTF, again, I cannot even apply for a lower interest rate loan to get rid of these leeches. Don't - I mean DON'T ever apply for anything from these people (if you want to call them that)!!!

Like so many people on here, I'm also having a problem with Credit One. Of course I want to build up my credit like everyone else, but the one thing I didn't know is the lengthy amount of time it's going to take for money to go back on your card for a payment. I made a $50 payment, 3 days ago and tomorrow being the 4th day will be the time I can use my card again. I would have put more on my card but my job sucks balls. Anyhow 4 days is the standard waiting time, the company calls it "Floating", for your money to go through. I call it BS. To make things worse, there is a bunch of 800 numbers but none of them to help you to get to customer service. No direct line for that. And that just leads to more irritation.

EVERYONE please beware of this credit card. If you have bad credit or need to rebuild your credit, you should avoid this credit card and find ANY other option. I feel like I'm trapped in hell having to deal with them so if this review helps one consumer I'll feel like I've been helpful. There are SO many problems with this credit card company. I was involved a really bad car accident just before the Holidays and my car was totaled by someone. You can imagine the impact this had on me, both mentally and financially. I would need some time to get back on my feet financially. I contacted ALL of my creditors, including Credit One. All of the creditors were able to provide me a temporary financial hardship payment plan... including my Target card. Target had more compassion and understanding than this pathetic Credit One Bank...

Here is a list of problems I've had trying to deal with Credit One. First, when you call you ALWAYS get connected to someone in India or the Philippines. When you ask to speak to someone in America they tell you that they either can't transfer your call or the American office is closed. I called at 1 pm Pacific time on a Thursday... How can that American office be closed?? If you fall behind in being able to make payments, they threaten to send you to outside collections and charge outrageous fees. During one of my calls to them I was talking with a foreign representative who for some reason kept repeating what I was saying out loud and then I heard another person in the background laughing at what she was saying. How disrespectful can they be - I'm glad they think it's funny that I need assistance during a hardship.

When I confronted the representative and asked her about the laughing she said, "Oh, I'm sorry you weren't supposed to hear that..." Are you ** kidding me... and finally I took the time to write a letter to their Headquarters in Las Vegas expressing my concerns, explaining my situation and informing them of how their customer service reps were treating customers. I received a letter back saying, basically "Sorry we can't help you, try calling Credit Counseling." DO NOT get involved with this company unless you want to experience the hell that I have.

Credit One Bank cares about themselves and not their customers. UNFORTUNATELY, I wish I would have researched them before ever opening the account. It has been 5 months since my accident, I am caught up with ALL of my other creditors EXCEPT Credit One Bank... They are SAD and PATHETIC and I have NO PROBLEM saying that based on how I've been treated by them.

I've been with credit one for 5+ years and it's always been a ridiculous, stressful experience. No email contact. You HAVE to call them and 100% of the time you'll talk to someone you can barely understand and NOTHING will get done! After 6 years of not a single late fee on any account, I've had 3 with Credit One caused by the following: their mobile site does NOT work and when asking about it I was told, "well don't use our site on your phone" and went through 2 months of not being able to sign in to my account even using my desktop. I was asked "have you tried using a different browser?" What the hell?! This is 2016 people. No matter what you do you'll reach a dead end. You will not get your money back. Just pay out your account and close it. WORST business I've ever dealt with.

I want to ward off anyone considering this credit card! In my attempt to rebuild my credit after filing bankruptcy, I got a card. I knew full well that the APR rate would be high, but I decided as long as I paid more than the minimum balance (I paid $37) the minimum of $25 it would help lift my credit rating. I was so wrong! The $37 payment I made on-time every month enough. After weird finance charges that differed every month, my principal payment was only $9 and some change.

The website is counter-intuitive and if you locate how to make a payment on the website you are charged a fee! After making on-time payments for more than six months my credit limit was increased from $300 to $500 - I was charged a $19.95 fee! I decided to pay the balance off and close it, but it looks bad on your credit to close an account voluntarily, so I left the card open, but I got charged a fee, and of course there is the $49.00 fee you have to pay which you are charged interest on. I closed it anyway because this card does not help rebuild your credit. Go to Capital one instead!
