So I had gotten my tax returns and wanted to pay off as many credit cards as possible, because I want to close a couple of them. So I made a second payment to completely pay off my Credit One Bank Visa and now I have to wait to verify my bank information again, it's the silliest thing I have ever heard. I made two back to back payments to Capital One and that card is now paid off, no re-verification needed, but for some reason I have to wait 1-5 days to re-verify with Credit One Bank. Now I have a full payment sitting in limbo and can't cancel the card or pay with debit because the payment shows as pending and I don't want to double pay. I have attached the email received.

I opened this account because I didn't pay attention enough to the name on the envelope. I thought I was opening a Capital One card. My fault in the reading, but I HIGHLY recommend to NEVER get a credit card through this bank. My limit was not very high to start out with. I can't get a higher credit amount for stupid reason, Like I do not make enough for their standards. My three other credit cards are all well over 1000$ for limits and Always extend my credit if asked. Credit One won't extend my credit limit past 400.

Their rewards completely suck. Nothing wants to make you stay and continue with having this credit card. Plus they have a yearly fee to keep the account open which they tack on to your first bill after opening so your total credit limit is not the limit you start out with. I am currently trying to cancel it because I just paid my last payment off before I get re-billed for the year but so far no luck with doing that. They don't take NO for an answer. On a side note this could be me not paying attention again but just a warning for others, Cards with pictures on them are almost $7 extra a year. When you pick out your card when signing up I don't believe they tell you that, you see it on your first bill.

I have tried to cancel this card for 8 months. I basically used the card once when I first received it--- er that I never used it. Had it just as an extra emergency card. They kept charging me fees- double billing cycles. When I tried to cancel the first time they basically blackmailed me with - "You won't have to pay the high fee if you keep your card." It was so frustrating. Still never used the card. After 7 months they charged me a fee again. I called and after 30 minutes of arguing they finally cancelled my card --- I hope --- I just got off the phone with them!

I requested this Credit One credit card on the advice of Credit Karma as it was suggested it would increase my credit score. The initial card fee was $35.00 and then the first billing they charged $70.00 bogus fees and I had not even purchased anything. I called the company and they gave me a very hard time trying to close the account, I had to speak to four different people and I told them I would be placing a formal complaint against them. At this point the account is still not closed. I have also advised Credit Karma they are giving bad advice to consumers.

I had a Credit One card from July 2017 to January 2018. I never had any problems with payments, etc. Card was always paid on time and payment posted to my account within a day or so. I decided to pay my balance in full last month and close my account. After my payment posted, I received notification that they added a credit to my account. It was half of the annual fee back since I didn't keep my card a full year. I called and they said they will be sending a check to me for my refund. A month later, NOTHING!!! I have called twice. The people speak horrible English. The first person hung up on me, and the second one pretended to check on my check for me and placed me on hold... After being on hold for 20 minutes I hung up. This is the worst company ever. I want my money back but they are thieves.

I just got the card in the mail on Saturday, Feb 17th. My husband is disabled and I am his unpaid caregiver. I needed to pick up prescriptions and pay medical bills. My credit limit was $300.00. I just called today to find out my due date. They told me it was yesterday (Monday, Feb. 19th), and I am over limit. It seems there was a $75.00 annual fee taken off the top of my available credit. So now I am over limit and late 3 days after I received the card. I got this card to help me out, but now I just have more problems. SMH.

I will be filing a lawsuit based on their illegal activity of double cycle billing. I opened this account in Dec 2017 basically for my son to have a card if needed when not with me. I paid the Dec, opening account balance prior to the due date in Jan. I paid the Jan balance on Feb 5, prior to the Feb 13 due date yet, they still charged interest for Jan charges. I called today to cancel the card, same issue as everyone else on here with them not wanting to cancel card. Finally the supervisor after arguing with him for 23 minutes said he would close the card. Then I log on to pay the balance off which the due date for is not until March 13 and it tells me that I am not allowed to make a payment at this time as I have made four payments in a 30 day period, which I have not done.

Now, they are charging me interest on the balance which I am trying to pay off and they are refusing to accept payment. $52.12 of that balance was reported as a fraudulent charge on Feb 15 that they refuse to remove. Clearly illegal practices. Federally law states "Finance charges on outstanding credit card balances must now be computed based on purchases made in the current cycle rather than going back to the previous billing cycle to calculate interest charges. So-called two-cycle or double-cycle billing hurts consumers who pay off their balances, because they are hit with finance charges from the previous cycle even though they have paid the bill in full."

Funny thing is I sent out REGULAR payment, and they said they have not received my payment. (Which I sent it out a week before.) Then they told me that regular payment takes not 7 days but 7-10 business day. What a joke, it seems like they want that $9.95 fee so you use express pay. Garbage company.

I thought this company was the more reputable credit card company but it is not. The names are very similar! I have been having issues for weeks trying to pay online. I call and get someone with a very heavy accent which tells me the call center is not in the USA. I also see why there is no email address to contact the company directly. But I do know this, it is illegal to intentionally flaw your website, cause the consumer to have late fees - ILLEGAL! And I will be writing them.

Ironically after I told the representative that I felt I was being scammed (after multiple calls to the company & talking with different reps) they finally fixed my online access. After reading the reviews I will no longer make a credit card payment online. I will mail it in!

I called to close my account with Credit One on 1/26/18. I asked that they give me confirmation upon closure of my account with them...they refused. They said they don’t give out confirmation or reference numbers. I told him I needed something in writing but he kept putting me on hold a couple of times to come back with the same answer. It was a real waste of my time as I spent an hour arguing back and forth with him and telling him I know my rights as a consumer. The guy I was speaking to said his name was “Jeffrey” (hmmm...he was speaking really fast and it was hard to understand him as he sounded foreign without good English speaking skills). I asked him to slowly spell his name...he spelled it as I spelled it above. I am lost for words.

The day after I closed my account, a new cardholder agreement came up under my profile on their app. I took a screenshot of it. It said it was posted 1/30/18...but as my screenshot showed it was on there on 1/27/18 - 3 days before it said it was posted. The higher rate cardholder agreement was added to my account the day after I called them to close my account but it was posted 1/30/18...which wasn’t even that day as it was 3 days ahead. Also they added a yearly fee to my statement and post dated it the day before I closed my account. Sounds like foul play to me!!!

"No, we can't help you." And YES, we can charge you up the ass, take your money and treat you like **. Absolutely HATE this company. Hate the way they don't have a simple way to extract the statements to CSV. They don't shake hands with any of the software that manages money, like Quickbooks, or Quicken. I wouldn't be surprised if tattooed to each of their employees is "No, I don't help anyone and customer service is a country far far away, I've never been and never want to go." I got this card at a stressful point in my life, and thought it was another bank. I have had similar experiences to everyone else complaints. I had an annual fee that I knew nothing about. They started charging me monthly without my consent. They offered to increase my credit if I paid them $250 (to which I said "no!") and they just transferred me when I wanted to close my account. I told them I would get an attorney, and then they told me they couldn't close my account until they had a letter from the attorney. I got them to supposedly close it, but they said they wouldn't send me a letter confirming unless they had a letter from an attorney.

I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and miraculously as soon as they got notice they sent me a letter stating that they had closed my account and that they were removing any late fees. I checked my credit report and it finally showed up as closed. Do not give up with this company. File a report with BBB. Let's not allow them to do this to other people.

When you ask to cancel your card they just start spouting off ** offers to keep it open and will talk over you while doing so. Credit One incorrectly marked a charge as fraudulent on 12/9/17 and has not corrected the error causing a major issue with the merchant. On 11/20/17 I made a purchase for with a vendor using my Credit One credit card. The purchase went through fine. A few days later I realized that also on 11/20 there were 6 other charges made to my Credit One card that were fraudulent. I called Credit One and reported those charges. We discussed the valid purchase made that same day and I said that it was OK and did not report it as fraud.

It took Credit One over two weeks to do anything with these fraudulent charges which left a higher balance on my account, also charging me interest on them and reporting my balance as higher than it should have been, but then on 12/31/17 when Credit One finally did reverse the charges they not only reversed the 6 that I identified but also a 7th charge which was valid.

Reversing this valid charge caused the vendor to block my account. I have called in to the Credit One customer service and fraud departments (two different departments) over 10 times in the past 27 days trying to get them to reverse their error but they have done nothing. I wrote to the CEO of the company as well and am waiting to see if I hear from someone in his office. I heard back from someone within their fraud unit today (3rd time they have called in this 27-day span) and all she communicated was that the investigator is now trying to reach the vendor but cannot reach them on the phone and without reaching them on the phone the matter cannot be resolved unless it goes past 50 days.

This is the first time I have been told that an "investigator" was actually trying to do something about this so at least this is progress. Not really - just being facetious. So now I am being told that a corporation the size of Credit One Bank cannot reach a vendor - and they cannot do anything to resolve this issue that they caused with their error all the way back on 12/31/17. It is now January 25th, 2018 and they have done nothing. Supposedly this error will magically be resolved by them after the 50 days has passed. That deadline is Saturday, January 27th.

Do I actually expect them to resolve it at this time? Highly doubtful as they could have reinstated the charge at any time over the past month and they have failed to do so. All the while my rapport with this vendor and my inability to use what I have purchased from them continues to be blocked. Credit One has done nothing to resolve this. It is wrong. They caused the situation and have failed miserably in correcting it.

Decided to call and close my account permanently. One year later I get a call from Credit One stating that I have a past due balance. After speaking on the phone with them for an hour, both on hold, and being transferred back and forth, they were finally able to close my account again. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. My sister in law saw a double payment on her account last year. She called them immediately to have one of the payments reversed, and the money returned to her checking account. Simple, right? Ahhh, no. The extra payment was reversed, and the money returned to her. In the meantime, THEY had reported a duplicate payment as fraud (yes, you read that right. A fraudulent PAYMENT). So they closed first account and issued new card, number account and all that.

Then comes today. They debited her Credit One account AGAIN for the returned extra payment. So they have a payment returned for $**, and charged her account for $**. Then today, they debited her Credit One account AGAIN for $**. She got through THREE levels of people, each one more belligerent than the last. Called back one last time to speak somebody above a manager. Got sick of the awful elevator music, and hung up. She told them to cancel her account and she will pay on it to be done with them. I hope she will be.

Now for a word of advice: when you call Credit One Bank and have an option for an oral interaction, keep repeating "customer service agent:" till you get one. If you get one who can't be understood (like most of them) specify one who speaks English as their native language. You WILL eventually get one. Do not be afraid to say some of these things to them: "listen to me", "please do not interrupt" and if all else fails say "STOP" very loudly. It seems to be the only thing some of their customer "service" agents understand. I have two accounts with Credit One bank, so I have had to do this. And currently we are "peacefully coexisting". It can be done. They need to be reminded that we are their lifeblood, and they need to service us, not the other way around.

I paid off my card every month, had them for two years. At the time I had no choice because of a bankruptcy and they took full advantage of that. So the fee was annoying but I needed a card to build my credit so I thought. Not only did they charge that fee, I figured out after researching further I learned they charge interest multiple times a month, they drag their feet on processing fraud charges to ensure they can charge interest on those amounts, they also charge fees on those charges as well. They take over 30 days, actually more like 90 days to put any fraud charges back on your card. I realized that when I was being charged 100's of dollars on my card even with paying them off every month.

Calling their customer service is a joke. You get to speak with someone named Dave or Ryan or Charlie from India, yeah those aren't their real names. They talk over you and said this like, "Listen lady I am trying to help you save your money." Which just infuriated me further considering how much they have been costing me over the two years I had them. When you get your bill without even making a charge they also charge you a $250 connect fee just to activate your card. Like I said they cost me probably well over a $1000 in fees and sneaky charges already. Find other ways to build your credit. This is not the way to go.

I had no idea that this credit card was for "high risk" borrowers or those without credit. I am a Canadian living in California and they sent me offer after offer to sign up, and I wanted my own independence from living off of my husband, so I took the bait. I also signed up for paperless billing right away. This company never emailed me a statement in the 3 months I was with them. Therefore, I never thought of them. However, they started calling me incessantly recently, and I took the latest call. They told me I owed $118.93. I told them I had never used the card before, and in a quizzical manner asked how I could possibly owe that. They said this was the activation fee and then subsequent late fees for not paying the activation fee, as well as a fee for the "pretty" design of the card I chose. I told them that they never informed me upon signing up that there were any such fees associated with opening an account.

They told me that I would find this information in the Contract (in other words, it's in the hard-to-find small print). I asked them to cancel my account after I paid the $118. Strangely enough, I can no longer sign into my online account even though I am just now (finally) receiving account notifications from them. Despite closing my account yesterday, I received a "View your January statement!" email, and about an hour later, a "You have a new document posted to your account!". However, I am locked out of their system. I do not trust this company- I feel that this is their way of subtly showing me that I am not officially closed. I feel I will run into more problems with them, so I called my bank (Chase) and had them cancel my debit card and send me a new one to prevent them from dinging my account further. Unbelievable that this company is still around. It's nothing but a scam.

This credit card company makes it difficult to pay online. Their website or app is either corrupted or doesn't load and when you attempt to pay it does not allow you to do. You are then forced to make an express payment over the phone which costs 9.00 extra to do. This is also where they can collect on late fees if you are unable to access the site online. I called customer service to make a payment and complain that the website had been down and asked why there isn't an option to make a standard payment and only an express payment over the phone, they stated that can only be done with the online option. I explained that the website has been down. I have attempted 4-5 times in last month. They stated there was nothing wrong with the website. This credit card company is corrupt, steer clear. I have read reviews where others have had difficulty accessing the website to manage their account also.

I hate this card. Their website is always down. When I call in every month to make my payment, I demand that I do not get charged a $9.95 fee because it's not my fault their site never works. Although my credit report always shows I am in good standing with them, they never update the balance with the 3 major credit bureaus. I'm so over this card. My account is getting shut down as soon as it's paid off, which by the way, I have no idea what my balance even is since I can't get into their website. This card is trash. I'm going to write them a certified letter when I shut it down and if that doesn't work I'm contacting my lawyer. I don't see how this place hasn't been investigated for fraud yet by the Attorney General. Obviously, we aren't just a bunch of complainers, when everyone on here, including myself, are saying the same thing about this place.

So what was my reward for on time payments, Double the minimum payment every month? An offer of credit line increase of $250 for a fee of 14.95. That is a 6% fee just to get an increase. It appears that this bank thinks that just because I have had poor credit in the past that I am incapable of thinking for myself when it comes to sound Financial decision. They offer you credit to “HELP” rebuild your credit file with the intention of milking you for every cent you have. Please DO NOT consider getting this card and be wishing you had not. There have to be better credit card programs to help you, and not be only after your money.

We received this card and wanted to build credit, I have been trying to make a payment and have been unable to and now the payment is late. Their customer service does not allow you to speak to a human, it is all automated. They do not offer to make a payment over the phone unless you do an "express payment" which will cost you an additional $9.95 and you have to use another credit card to pay it. When you click on their customer service link on their website, the page is blank and doesn't ever load. I don't even know where to go from here to pay it, we did not receive a bill in the mail for it because we chose paperless billing when we initially signed up. Naturally that part of their website works just fine. How is it legal for a company to have a credit card and have no way to speak to a person, how do you report fraudulent charges or if you have problems there's no way to solve them. Just totally ridiculous.

First of all, how does this "Bank" even exist? My husband and I each have a card. When my husband mailed in his very first payment it came back to him with a sticker on it saying "This address does not exist". It was the address printed on the bill. So how could it be wrong? I called them and right off the bat I said "what's the deal here?". So the man I spoke to (which, no offense) I could hardly understand because of his strong accent. Said I can pay the bill on the phone for a fee. I immediately spoke up to him and said "why should I have to pay a fee when the bill went directly to you and you people sent it back?" So I didn't have to pay the fee. Guess I got lucky that day.

Two months later my husband didn't even get a bill at all. So I had him set up his account online to pay his bill every month. He went to pay his bill two days ago and the site is down! And still down as I write this. How do you not make sure your site is running properly?! Now he's concerned they'll charge a late fee and put it on his credit report. Which he's been trying to rebuild. Well, this morning we've been discussing transferring our balances to a better card which we were hanging on to for emergencies. We will be closing our accounts and know the risks of it going on our credit reports. We think it would be worth it rather than deal with a bank that I think should be put out of business. Also, I thank everyone who wrote their experiences on here and I hope you all have your issues resolved without a huge headache.

The 35 dollar late fee is ridiculous as it gets added if the payment isn’t processed by the date. Why does it take them over a week to process a payment? Second if you are even a day late they call you every hour on the hour to try and get a payment out of you. It has gotten to the point where I block every single number I know is them. As far as the on phone processing fee (10.00), if you tell them you aren’t paying a fee they waive it. Just a heads up for others who have this card! I will be canceling as soon as my balance is paid off, which with all the fees won’t be soon enough.

So I called to make payment; I usually do a standard payment which is no charge. I was informed that my payment would include the express payment fee and I specifically told the moron of the representative; which by the way she was completely rude that I didn't want to make the express payment -- just wanted to do a standard payment. She tells me in a rude manner that I couldn't do that over the phone; I told her the problem I was having with the website and she said something -- which I can't remember -- but it was demeaning to me!

Anyhow, after a few minutes of arguing back and forth, she relentlessly agreed to allow me to make the standard payment but she said that the next time I used the Customer Service number to make a payment, I would be charged the express payment fee. I made my payment and hung up on her! They are very rude! Someone needs to give them an extensive course on Customer Service! I have worked with the public for a long time and yes, it can be difficult! So today, as I was logging into another account I have with them, I have run into the same problem -- website not coming up. I was absolutely furious as I pay all my credit cards off in full every month. Received a bill that said payment was due on the 1st for an amount of $45 which I’ve been trying to pay. They sent this over to the bureaus on 12/23/2017. I received the card on 12/15/17. When I called to ask why they would send that over when the payment isn’t posted and I can’t pay they hung up on me. Which pissed me off. I called back asked for a supervisor who spoke no English.

I requested an English speaking supervisor and kept getting bounced around to different people who barely spoke any English w/ very thick accents. I’m pretty sure this bank is ran by people overseas. Stay away from this company. They will actually hurt your credit. If you’re building your credit DON'T get this card. Hell don’t get this card if you have excellent credit. Very shady practices going on. Their app only works when you first sign up and after that it’s always under maintenance. You’re also charged an annual fee which is supposed to be ONE lump sum being deducted from your initial credit line but then they also charge you monthly for this same annual fee in smaller amounts even though they say it’s a one time annual fee. Let's be honest, this card is designed to hook people with low to no credit histories. Bottom line. It's the same reason I was approved for this card so don't feel bad if it's the best you can do right now. However, this company is a giant scam. Their customer service is deplorable, their website often doesn't reflect current information (good luck calling them to try and have this corrected), the app... Well that's just a joke, oh and for the love of God. PLEASE check your balance even if you've paid off your card in full because they will try and trap you with late fees if you are not careful. Credit increases appear to cost you 10% of the credit line increase being offered (at least for me it seemed to average out that way). In short, if you are going to go with this card, make sure to monitor your account because they do NOT have your best interest at heart.

While I understand that credit card companies are there to make money, this company is amongst the scummiest of the lot and they will try to hold you hostage while you are building your credit. I would recommend staying away from this card and go with Capital One Platinum and Quicksilver instead (I got all three cards at the same time with a credit score that was in the 500s). While the Quicksilver still has an annual fee and the interest rates are still high on both cards, the company is much more pleasant to deal with, especially if you want the person on the other line to have something other than air between their ears. I've been with Credit One for over two years now and have never had a good interaction with them.

Credit One is an absolutely horrid company. I accepted their offer when I was younger, and I deeply regret it, because it's nearly impossible to close your account with them. You need a lawyer or another agency to ensure your card is closed by having both written and oral confirmation, multiple copies, all signed in triplicate. Google "how to close a credit one account" and see the horror stories for yourself. It takes several months to happen.

I tried to close my account with these scammers once before, and no dice. I was told I'd be charged extra fees to close, and I agreed, but they charged the extra fees to my account, which defaulted, which meant I couldn't close the account, then charged interest on top of that. So I thought I paid off and closed an account that turned around and charged me nearly $100 for absolutely no reason. I paid it off and tried to keep the card at $0, but I still get charged $8.95 EACH MONTH for simply HAVING the card. They call it a "maintenance fee." I also get bombarded with email offers asking if I want to increase my credit limit, for $11.95 extra.

And you know the worst part about this? They routinely take their website offline to "upgrade" it, which happens to be during the busiest shopping times of the year. I'm writing this on 12/22. Their website has been down for the past 3 days, when due dates for Christmas shopping is taking place, just so they can charge interest and late fees on the hundreds people spent during the holiday season. My bill is due on 12/25, but it typically takes "5-7 days" to process a payment with this garbage credit agency. OR you can spend $35 to "upgrade" your payment and have it process immediately. $35 is also incidentally the late fee amount. Only a complete and utter trash company would take their website down for days, then blame the consumer for it. I wish I had never done business with this scam company when I was younger. Avoid this garbage company at all costs.

They make their policies very unclear and then are very underhanded in explaining them - if they can explain them at all, I was able to tell the representative more about the user end of their website than he was able to understand. Example, it says you can change your due date as long as you are within 5 business days of your current due date. So, my due date was on the 5th, and on the 29th of the month before, I changed the due date to the 15th. A green check mark appeared in my online settings and said changed. No other information was displayed or emailed/texted to me (I'm on paperless settings, so I would not think I would receive anything postal mail).

I looked at my account yesterday, the 6th, and it still said the due date was the 5th, but nothing about a payment being due or past due. Then today, the 7th I got a text, "reminder, you have a past due balance on your card". I called, and they told me that the changed due date takes two billing cycles to change (nowhere on the website or card member agreement does it say that). Additionally, the reference to the "5 business days" indicates that you can move your due date 5 days before/after your current due date. But they automatically approved my 10 day request. At any rate, I talked to some guy and it sounded like he was in an open air market in downtown Bangladesh or something, SO LOUD in the background, which I am positive was thousands of other people calling to complain.

I have been using and paying the bill online since approval and to date have had 1 issue with their site being down. I always pay early so this was not a problem, I was still able to pay by the due date. After about 4 months I received a modest Credit increase, then another in a few more months, and again several months later. At some point the yearly fee was changed to a monthly fee which almost made me late as I had a zero balance but was charged the monthly fee that I was unaware of.

I then accepted a Mastercard from them as well. It was easy to link to the online account already set up so all went smooth. They somehow added credit protection to this account without my knowledge which I still haven't been able to remove. That is more me not taking the time to sit and figure out how to remove it. I had one other card at the time a Capital One and a 570 credit score. In the 2 years since I have raised my score to 780 and now carry just over 40k of available credit. Yet Credit one still only gave me an increase to 1300. The only reason I still use Credit One is the effect of closing the 2nd and 3rd oldest recent accounts on my credit. I was thankful to even get a card at the time and it really helped me build my credit back up. Just be diligent about paying early and it could work for you also.

If you pay your on time and don't bounce checks payable to them you should not have a problem. My credit score increased 52 points over 6 months.

There is no need for me to write a review, read the reviews that have been posted and believe them. To add it is the only credit card company that does not accept automatic payments (RED FLAG) and you cannot contact via email (another red flag) most likely so there is no Text/paper trail to any communication. I cannot believe that there has not been a lawsuit filed against this company. I’m sure the lawyer would be able to make some money. I have been trying to contact them for 2 days to close my account, website shows 6 different phone numbers and called all 6. Got the same menu choice on all 6 and not able to get a real person. This credit card company is an absolute nightmare! When I received the pre-approved application in the mail, their logo looked exactly like Capital One and since I was trying to rebuild credit, Capital One is a reputable place to start. Needless to say, when I received the card in the mail and took a closer look, it was NOT what I thought it was! However, I thought I would give them a try. But after I received my first statement, I realized they were charging me daily fees and interest. I paid the balance immediately and called to close the account.

Of course they talked me out of it by telling me they would give me credit to make up for the fees. All was going well until this month. I just attempted to make a payment, but they would not allow me to stating that I had already made (4) payments in 30 days, which is the LIMIT... What?!? Since when does a company refuse a payment? This one, so they can charge more interest by refusing to let me pay off my balance!!! Absolutely Absurd!!!

My husband had applied for this card about 2 years ago when we recently moved to a new state knowing we would need a few essentials before his first paycheck. I kept receipts as I do for everything for taxes, and my own records. I attempted several times to set up online account access as to make it easier, and even called their customer service line SEVERAL times to assist in this process, but to no avail. I gave up and chose to wait for my paper statement in the mail... NO SUCH LUCK THERE EITHER. I would pay weekly on the card for what my receipts said I charged. When my husband's job came close to ending, about 6 months after receiving the card, I called and updated the address to mother-in-laws back home. After that move, and one more a month later, we still had not received a bill.

In March of this year, my husband had received papers via the local sheriff's office. Credit One had served my husband in order to get fees from the card upwards of $1100. I contacted the agency handling the case and explained the situation and had asked for paper statements from their client. Within 3 days, much to my surprise I had received some of them. I then contacted the credit card company asking how they ensure that the statements were sent out for those who opted into paper statements like we had. I was informed they are computer generated and mailed, but not checked or verified to actually be sent out by a live person. I took a few days to go over the statements and contract they so willing sent of their own accord. In the contract it states that they’re obligated to ensure we the consumer can access our statements either electronically, or with paper billing.

(Upon the first billing cycle of not receiving a paper statement, they had broke their own contract.) I was able to account for what was spent and paid off on the card, highlighting and all made copies and wrote out a letter explaining we had no issues paying what we charged and showing them where we had attempted to pay even without receiving a bill. I sent it back through the courts and waited a few days. I then called to ensure they had received it, which it had been filed and that the judge was not accepting it. I then informed them that I have full financial power of attorney for my husband.

The courts were not changing the ruling. I decided to go back through the statements, in which the dates and the several addresses that were on them didn't match up. I called the attorney's back, and explained this and informed them that I had rental agreements as proof and still offered to settle out of court for double what we charged. Still no word back. Now today another sheriff served my father another set of papers with a court date in January 2018. I intend on getting a lawyer and fighting them. This company are scam artists, DO NOT APPLY FOR THIS CARD!

I asked them why they didn't ask or notify me of the change from the one fee of $75 a year to a $8 monthly fee to have the card. They told me the contract allows them to make changes to the fee as they wish. I paid and closed the account, but I do expect more issues. First year is usually free for most of the banks, but this bank just wants to take money from you from all the possible ways. I was charged the annual fee in the first month's bill itself which I believe is very unfair and unacceptable. They really need to work on this and make their business more customer oriented and customer friendly rather than just being money oriented. I am pretty sure there is more than one reason for this bank to consistently maintain a very well deserved single star rating on Consumer Affairs' web page. I wish I had read the reviews here before getting this credit card from Credit One Bank. I, too, paid an enrollment fee. I didn't realize it at the time and was able to make my first payment online. I paid off the card and was going to close the account. When I called Customer Service to close the account, I spoke with someone who could barely speak English who convinced me to keep the card -- they would credit my account $25. And they upped the limit to $400. Tonight, I tried to get online to make a payment. I could not get on. I set up my online account over and over and kept getting a prompt telling me my password or username was incorrect. I had printed off the access information, so I KNOW I was using the correct username and password. And I tried both Chrome and IE.

I called Credit One Bank and spoke with yet another person I could barely understand. She allowed me to make a payment -- waiving the usual fee -- this time around. She said I should call back and speak with someone in Customer Service to get my online account back up and running. I can't see what charges have been made to my account. I'm supposedly over my limit by $6. I am definitely going to pay off this card and close this account. I, like so many others in the reviews I have read, was trying to better my credit. When I found out what was going on I told my mom to hang up as I remembered that she had received mail from them the day before which happened to be her bill. She ended up getting off the phone and not even two minutes later the same woman called back and kept telling her the same thing. When we got home I got my mom's mail from the day before which had the envelope in it and when we opened it, it showed her payment wasn't due for another 2 weeks.

I got one not long after that and every time I make a payment and don't use my card for the month then get back online the next month to make a payment I only had 3 or 4 dollars on my card even though I made a 25 dollar payment the month before and never used it. Listed several of its many deficiencies: 1- You are going to pay and they ask you for a charge to post your payments before or free and it takes 6 days... 2- For the increase of the credit they invent a rate of what they want... 3- Charge a charge of 60 usd for the mobile app and to top it off if they have annual payment and if something happens to you the payment in one day they burn the phone in calls. I do not recommend it at all, I give a star because there is no other, so it costs me what it costs me in my credit. I close it.

I spent the first 10 years of my career working for the credit card company MBNA America so I know credit card policy and customer service quite well. I can truly say this is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. The product is for high risk borrowers and is used as a starter or rebuilding card. They are fee happy and the APR’s are insane. I took a card at a promotion and it was a huge mistake. I have had the car for 4 years and not once have I ever been late or maxed out the credit limit. Well, this fall brought hurricane Irma to Florida and forced us into a temporary living situation for a month. We had to open a new banking account and this card and its $85 balance went 2 days past due. I called Credit One and let them know we would be paying it off as soon as the new account is set up (about a week). They said no problem and waived a late fee and said there was no payment due to November.

A week and 67 collection calls later I finally pick up just to hear the rep go into a script that ends with "may I have your debit card number". I told him the situation and it was like he didn't even listen. He asked for my debit card again. I asked for a manager and after a long verbal dispute I finally got a manager. Credit One outsources to Noida, India and having spent time there, I can tell you they are hiring minimally qualified script readers who struggle to comprehend conversation. Painful, frustrating conversations that go around in circles regardless if you are right or not. They will call you multiple times a day on every number you have provided. They use local area codes to trick you. They don't listen, don't care and don't understand. This is a bare bones operation that preys on people who may not know any better. Please avoid this company at all cost, literally and figuratively.

ON THE ADVICE OF LEGAL COUNSEL - Under the guidance of my legal representative I am presenting this document with the intention of presenting evidence in a court of law. It is unmistakably obvious that your actions regarding my account are either the result of your reckless negligence and unmitigated ignorance of how to run a company; more than likely, a well-organized, conspiratorial, fraudulent attempt to extort of funds with no moral or ethical compass and no sense of dignity or liability. I AM AN ETHICAL AND HONEST MAN!!!

I had read the countless negative reviews of your company and the incompetency and inconsistency of your “Customer Service Department”. Still, foolishly I thought I would give you an opportunity and take a chance. It was my objective to be honorable and straightforward in my dealings with you. It was my intention to reestablish my credit which was suffering due to unfortunate circumstances on my part. I accepted your offer in good faith, set up a payment plan with my bank (giving you the account and routing numbers). You on the other dirty hand, decided to unscrupulously alter the last digits of my account and routing numbers thereby causing my first payment to collapse and my Credit One account to be frozen, thereby opening the door for you to stop my ability to pay online through my bank account and henceforth create a paradigm to charge me late fees and accrued interest.

THE FOLLOWING IS A RECREATION OF THE EVENTS AS THEY OCCURRED IN REAL TIME TO BE USED AS EVIDENCE IN A COURT OF LAW: I received my card in August and began to use it: On 9/8/ 2017 I requested “Change of due date” for my payment, and authorized two payments of $25 and $30 to you. On 9/9/2017 I received an Account Notifications: "Your account notification preferences have been updated." On 9/9/2017 I received an Account Notifications: 9/8/2017 Payment: You authorized a one-time payment in the amount of $30.00 from your Bank Account ending in **. This will post to your Credit One Bank credit card account on 9/08/2017. Your funds will be available on 9/15/2017. Note that this number (**) is INCORRECT. It is a mix of the last 2 numbers of both my routing number and my account number. (Intentional on your part?)

On 9/11/2017 you asked for a Bank Account Verification: Two small deposits have now been made to your Bank Account. Please check with your financial institution and note the two deposit amounts. Click/tap here then enter the amounts into the provided fields. Note that no deposits were made in my bank because YOU! USED A WRONG NUMBER! “THEN MY ACCOUNT WAS TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED”. I called your Customer Service and spoke to someone and pointed out the discrepancy. She recognized it and made the correction. I was told the account would be activated within 48 hours. NOTHING HAPPENED!!!! I CALLED AGAIN! THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD BE ACTIVATE BY TOMORROW BY NOON. NOTHING HAPPENED!!!! I called again! Nothing happened!!!!

Then on 9/23/2017 I received an Account Notifications: "As part of the Bank Account Verification process, two small deposits have now been made into your Bank Account. Please follow the steps below to complete the verification process: Contact your financial institution and note the amount of these two deposits. Sign in to Online Account Access and enter the two deposit amounts." NOTHING HAPPENED!!!! No deposits were made to my bank!!! How can I make my payment if I can’t get into the System???? Finally, On October 4, 2017, I reluctantly placed one more call to Customer Service: I spent 5 minutes explaining my situation to your representative and was put on hold for 20 Minutes. It had been over a month since I’ve been dealing with this matter and you have done nothing to reconcile your mistake thereby putting me in interest and late fee jeopardy!!

ON OCTOBER 18, 2017; JUST TO PUT ICING ON THE CAKE, I GET AN EMAIL FROM YOU TO CHECK MY ACCOUNT FOR A MESSAGE. How can I check for a message if I can’t get into the system???? Then, the following day I get a call from your representative, who seems to know absolutely nothing about my account problems, and wants to hustle me into paying $75 on a ludicrous bill of $275 brought on by your negligence in screwing up my account! I told him to close my account! Then on 10/22/2017 I get a billing statement and a notice that my account has been closed! (Really?) I don’t trust you or your so called “organization! I will not send you a check, nor will I give you my debit card number. So sharks, offer me a solution! You created this mess, you clean it up!

For the record: I am a retired vet, living in an adult foster care on social security retirement. My credit score is in the toilet, I was trying to fix it! I don’t care if you screw it up more it doesn’t matter to me! I have no assets! You can’t touch my social security. I have no other source of income! All phone calls and threats are futile! I am going to stick with the facts of my issues and concerns with the Credit One Bank. On Monday, October 16, 2017 I received an email from Credit One confirming the address change to my account. Red flags, I didn't make any changes. I immediately called into Credit One Bank told them about my email I received and the address change. The representative started to review my file, she looked into a few things and also went through my charges. She indicated someone called in over the weekend and made the address change. I immediately said, "It was not me", she didn't provide me with the new address but indicated she would place a hold on my account and I needed to verify with my family member who is also on the account. I made a quick call and verified there were no changes made by us and called back and talked to another representative who went into a little more detail.

She said the address was changed to a PA address, I indicated I had NEVER lived in PA and only in MN. She deactivated my cards, updated the address and said she would send out new cards for both my Visa and MC account. It would take 7-10 days. And she would remove any charges for needing duplicate cards (Which I told her I would not pay for.) On Thursday, October 26, 2017 (10 days later) I receive in the mail two documents from Credit One. I put them aside and finally opened on Friday, October 27, 2017. The letters were dated on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, two days after I cancelled my cards AND updated my address, they once again changed my address back to the PA address.

I logged onto my Credit One account and was SHOCKED to see over $1000.00 of charges on my account. My old card was deactivated and I hadn't received my new cards yet. Sure enough even after I called in and changed my address, canceled my cards, Credit One once again changed my address back to a fraudulent address AND sent them my new cards AND activated it for them. I asked them why they would change it back when they asked me back on October 16 if I had ever lived in PA. They didn't have an answer and did say Credit One made the errors. The charges occurred under my MC account. I asked them to review my VISA account.

The representative from Credit One wanted to verify some information, I started with last 4 of SSN and then was asked for my address, I gave them my correct address, in MN. He said I need your prior address, I said, I have lived here 3 years, I don't have a prior address with you, he said you changed the address 2 weeks ago. My response "Are you kidding me!?? Are you talking about the address in pa, which isn't mine but the individuals who stole it, their address?" He said "Yes, what is your address" I am completely dumbfounded at this point. No charges were made yet, (except for charges for me to order new cards) and the card had not been activated, I told them to cancel the card, DO NOT ACTIVATE IT and send me new ones to my CORRECT address and remove all charges for new cards, I WILL NOT pay for them.

10.27.2017 it is now 11:41 AM. I have called this business over 4 times. Every single call was a new answer. The Bill is due the 24th. I had attempted to make online payment 10.23.2017 but was returned to "insufficient funds" (which I have my statements and is inaccurate on their end). But ever since August when they tried to "verify" my bank card that I have been paying with since I FIRST got this card over 2 years ago their "small deposits" were not going through to my bank (I never have this issue with any other credit cards I have or any issues with my bank). The 25th was not my first time calling in and making an over the phone payment. When I do complain they wave the fee. You would think ever since they've been "trying to verify" my account they would notice something on their end was wrong or they would try to fix the situation instead of just trying to avoid it.

Anyhow, on 10.25 I called was on the phone with the their "supervisor" (a title thrown around loosely there). She had waived the "late fee" and waved the over the phone payment fee and waved the previous months late fee (since it was the same situation last month) NEVER INFORMED ME OF ANY DELINQUENCY ON THE ACCOUNT OR INFORMED ME MY ACCOUNT WAS TO BE SUSPENDED. 10.27 I check my email and I have an email saying someone has changed information on my account that if it wasn't me to call (email and phone numbers) I call and they said they had made the changes and "temporarily suspended my account" due to too many "insufficient fund payments".

Two insufficient payments that is their own system's fault because every time I make a payment OVER THE PHONE it goes through with NO PROBLEM but if I use their online system to make a payment all the sudden it's "insufficient funds" come one. They want their late payment fees. I have informed them of this problem since August. Meanwhile I've been in contact with this bank numerous amounts of times since August when they kept trying to "Verify" my bank account with their "small deposits". Every time I went to make a payment online after this verification didn't work it would override my payment and keep telling me to verify their small deposits!!!

I call today they want me to send them transaction verification from my bank because they had closed my account that this would not hurt my credit. After the 4th time calling them back today I was connected with a supervisor in the Investigations unit who was extremely rude and did not take into consideration everything I have been telling her that has been happening since August. I don't care if they needed to freeze the account I just didn't need my credit score to be affected by something that is THEIR fault. The best part is the "Investigator" told me there would be NO CHANCE my account could reopen that I could try and send in the statements for review but it is not guaranteed and that I am out of luck because they are going to report this to my credit.

I told the "Investigator" that maybe she should do her job and review all the previous phone calls I have placed since August about the small deposits and about not being able to pay this account online. Credit One Bank is SHADY and they're just trying to play anyone anyway possible. If there's a way to prevent this from my credit report please let me know.

I must have input the account info incorrectly so my credit card was never paid (I assumed it was because I had it automatically taken out of my bank account) so when it time to make payments again I called to verify information with one of the Credit One representative and they assured me I updated my account information and funds would be taken out.

So when I go to check my account online I see my account is locked. I called and spoke with a nasty ** representative named Kim who in the end ended up hanging up on me. I told her I previously spoke with a rep and they assured me that they updated my card info and funds would be taken out of my account... Which she tried to make me seem as though I am lying... Saying they cannot update any info online. So I asked her, "Then what are you verifying information if you guys had incorrect information and I give you the correct information what are you updating." So therefore whoever I spoke to never updated my information online, therefore I gave them the correct information and they did nothing with it leading up to my account being closed. Be aware when applying for this card! It may say that you have a $300 balance but you actually have a $225 balance. Be advised that there is a monthly $75 "monthly annual fee" that comes out off the top which has you paying more than you use. I'm making my payment and canceling this card. One day I started getting calls from my vendor stating that my payments were not going through, as I use this card for my business and advertising. I went to log into my account and was not able to. I called the horrible customer service line for help. They would not listen to my story. They stated my account was blocked because hackers tried to pay my balance back up and it was declined too many times. With a completely different account than I have ever used or a checking account from a different person. My account was disabled, not because it was hacked, but because hackers "tried" to pay my card balance back up with another stolen card too many times.

After asking for a supervisor and disconnected, I called back. The next person, ruder than the last, did some digging for me and turns out that the hackers called them up and changed my address online. They did not even have to use my password that I had set up. They were able to do this over the phone, all the while I have a password for my account specific for this reason! They completely disregarded the fact that I #1 had a password and #2 was not paying from an account from a complete stranger when there was not other users qualified to use my account.

So I cancel my account and get a new card. I asked for an immediate credit because the company that they tried to purchase products from even admitted that it was fraud, but did not ship the orders. It made no sense to me that they did not ship the product, yet my card was still charged the $576.00 on it and it will remain on there until I sign an affidavit.

At this point, it will take up to 90 days to get my credit back. If that is not bad enough, I went to pay some of the balance so I can use the new card and continue my advertising and business practice. THEY WOULD NOT LET ME! The hackers tried to pay 4 times in the last 30 days, and that is their limit. The 4th customer service person that I spoke to, 3 days later STILL did not ask me my password when I was speaking with them, just wanted my social security number. AVOID THIS COMPANY! Not one person that I spoke to was genuine or even cared. Not one person that I spoke with actually wanted to help. They apologized a lot and 2 people could not understand my English, which is my primary language.

They say no annual fee, but it's not true, it's $100. Charge lots of fees, horrible customer service, never increase credit even though you've made every payment and pay off balances. Unless you HAVE to get this card, I don't recommend it. It only helps your credit if you only use 30% of the entire amount available and you pay it off every month.

After dealing with Hurricane Irma in Florida we called Credit One Bank on September 30th, 4:06 pm to request a grace period for extension of payments as we had loss of power for 2 weeks resulting in income disruption and unexpected costs. On that day a Credit One Bank representative told us that the company will allow for a grace period and that no payment will need to be made until November 9th and no late fees will be added.

Unfortunately, for the past week we have been getting harassing phone calls, today we spoke with Credit One Bank who told us they assessed a late fee and we must pay now in full. When we asked about their system notes the rep said they have no record of our conversation of September 30, 2017. Be wary with this company. They do not honor their word, they do not recognize that people in disasters have legitimate need for help nor seemingly are efficient in documenting. Credit One Bank is a terribly bad company towards consumers.

A few weeks ago I noticed my card had been compromised so I called them to let them know of the fraudulent charges. They sent me a new card and they did remove SOME of the charges but not all of them. The charges had amounted to well over $100 but they only credited me for $60. So I logged in (a feat in itself) to review all of my past statements. Of course, the website will not let me open any of my statements. It will "say" that I have but their site will not let me open, view or print any of my statements. Today I called to find out how I can get copies of my statements and was told I would have to wait until November because my account was new. I have never in my life heard of such a ridiculous response as this. They really should give the people in India better excuses. So I asked her if she could email the statements to me and, at first, she said she could.

Then as our conversation continued she changed her story to "no, that is something I cannot do." (Of course). So I asked her if she could mail them to me. We'll see if I ever get my statements. They are probably working on them to compromise the fraudulent charges. Just now, I received my monthly statement email from them. I have been trying repeatedly to log in but it just keeps sending me in a loop saying it was not able to log me in. Even though I can see my name in the upper right hand corner. Lovely. These jackasses need to be investigated. I don't know what kind of a scam they are running but they should be shut down and put in jail. This is ridiculous. I have no choice but to spread the truth about Credit One Bank on social media. Be warned... They will screw you over.

"Well it's up on our end." What a complete lie. My husband works in IT and he couldn't even access it from his end. Then I contacted my girlfriend who lives in Orlando, FL and she had the same issues. The agent said, "We can allow you to make a payment on the phone, but you need to pay a $10 fee for this option." Said, "I shouldn't have to pay anything, zero, nada, since your website is down." I hung up and will check back tomorrow to see if website is up. Very disappointed with the service.

Please beware before applying for a credit card with this company. I have been in a very tough spot financially and resorted to applying with them, was approved with a $300 credit limit and figured I would keep the card tucked away for any emergencies that arose (medical, car, etc). Fast forward to exactly 30 days later and I still have not even received the actual card in the mail - instead, today I received a bill for $75 labeled as an "Annual Fee." I was charged a fee for a card that I have not received, activated, or used.

These "Set-up and Maintenance Fees" were outlined in the terms and conditions which is tucked away in a link which is separate from the actual application form, and it does state clearly that if you're established with a $300 credit line you will be charged an annual "Membership Fee" of $75 thus decreasing your available credit. The website does not require you to read the terms and conditions before proceeding (most honest companies do, I'm sure we all know those annoying pop-ups that make you check the box indicating that you read through the fine print). I will admit that I am an idiot for not catching this during the application process, and for assuming there were no catches with this card. But I don't want anyone to make the same mistake that I did.

So as fair warning, stay away from this "company." It is an intentional scam, and I believe they are trying to hook people who skim or skip the fine print completely so that they can have them activate these cards and be held accountable for these "membership fees." I am still floored to have received a bill without even having the physical card in my possession, or even access to the card number. Once you have activated this card, they steal your money - and if you don't pay these incredulous fees, they start charging late fees at $37 a pop.

I used the express pay option, using my checking account on October 2nd. The funds came out of my account on October 4th. On October 3rd I saw some of the funds were available. On October 6th I attempted to check my account to see if the remaining funds were available and received a message that my account had been temporarily suspended. I contacted customer service and was informed that I needed to send a bank verification letter. I initially agreed and asked for the name of the person, the department I was sending it to and the fax number. I was told a fax number and to send attention customer service and that my information wasn't going to anyone in particular.

I then stated that I would not send my banking information to a general fax machine, where anyone has access. I then asked why they needed it and I was told that because I used my checking account they needed to verify it was my banking information. It's not that they blocked my access to use the card as I have other cards, but they literally blocked my ability to see my account. It is now 11 days later, they received their funds and my account is still suspended. My bank did not alert them there was a concern with fraudulent activity, they are now saying this is standard practice for Credit One. It is fine if this is their practice when customers use their checking account to pay, however customers should be informed PRIOR to making a payment that even though the check clears, and they receive their funds, the customer's account will be suspended and the customer will no longer have access to see their account or to use the credit card.

I received this credit card at the same time Capital One was sending replacement credit cards with chips. When I received I didn't take a good enough look at the logo (they are intentionally deceptive). I put it in my wallet thinking it was my Credit One card with new chip. Go to dinner with friends, submit the card for payment - again not noticing it's not my Credit One card.

A couple days later I go to the store, present the same card and it's declined. I use another card to pay and call Credit One when I get home to find out why my charge didn't go thru. After a few minutes on the phone with Credit One I take out the card and realize it's not a Credit One card. I contacted Credit One, was convinced to keep the card but decided I would pay the balance and cut it up. I felt deceived. First statement brings a bigger surprise. My $40 dinner now totaled almost $200 with start up fees. I paid my total thinking lesson learned. Check before I put anything in my wallet.

I cannot articulate what their process is with payments and fees and timing. But I was off because apparently I incurred more fees. Hopefully the end of this nightmare is near. They got an $800 judgment against me and a lien against my bank account. I called them several time to explain what happened in an attempt to get fees credited but they don't talk to anyone who owes less than $1000.

I have had the worst experience dealing with this company. I have had their card for over a year. I have always paid on time and even paid the card off on several occasions using the online phone app. About 45 days, I went to the online app to make my payment and noticed that my Visa card wasn't visible anymore. So I paid my MC bill then called to inquire about the Visa. The CSR on the phone informed me that my card had a fraudulent alert placed on it. I asked for details, they refused to expound and treated me like I was crook. The CSR told me to send them a copy of my Driver's License, Social Security Card, and any bill that displayed my address as long as it matched the address on my driver's license. I mailed these items to PO 98873, Las Vegas, NV 89193 as requested and waited 2 business weeks to be contacted by phone or mail. I never received any communication so I called to inquire.

The CSR informed me that she had limited system access and apologized because she couldn't help me. I called back a couple of days later to inquire again, I was informed the same thing and that the data I sent to Vegas was being handled by that office. I had to continue to wait until the system updated. I become even more frustrated, at this point my bill coming due again and I do not have any online visibility nor am I getting any bills in the mail. So I called back to inform them of this, the CSR gave me the amount over the phone, I instructed her I needed a bill sent to me so I can pay it and see what's going on with my account. Then I received notification that my card has been deactivated and closed by them because of card abuse.

CARD ABUSE! They refused to send me a bill. At this point I have lost all faith in this company and certainly wasn't going to take their word for it. As far as I know, they are the FRAUDSTERS! Weeks went by up until this morning, they called me for a payment. REALLY! I have yet to receive an invoice via mail. After 3 transfers and 20 minutes of being placed on hold while I am at work, I get Winston who informs me that now they need me to send a utility bill with my address.

This is crazy to me. I still have MC with them that can be used to validate data for whatever reason. It's been 30 days and they are just not informing me of status and that additional data is needed. Now I have to wait another month before it's resolved! BTW, I was informed they are still charging me late fees and other charges but I never received the bill I've been requested. I HIGHLY recommend CAPITAL ONE to anyone that's looking for a credit card. CREDIT ONE has HORRIBLE Customer Service and loads you up with unnecessary fees. It takes them months to resolve a simple issue THEY created but it's MY FAULT. They do not mind inconveniencing their customers for nonsense! Angry Customer!

I have received several applications in the mail recently from them which I ignored so they proceeded with continual annoying calls. I don't know how they got my cell phone and other info but I am one of the people breached by Equifax so I suspect Credit One is in on that deal. I checked my credit report and it shows no inquiry from this company so they must have got info illegitimately. Now here is the most frustrating part. Since they called from same number 7 times in 24 hours, I blocked the number. I refuse to answer any number I don't recognize. I will call the number back to see who it is.

After I blocked their first number, I received 6 calls from 4 different numbers. I called all 4 and recording said, “Welcome to Credit One Bank.” They must have an endless list of numbers they use to call from so that you cannot possibly block all of them because if you do, they just use a different number. I am glad I did not fall for the application they sent in mail and give them any more of my info as that would have been an even worse nightmare. I am just writing this to warn others and hoping Consumer Affairs can find out who is behind this scam that pretends to be a legitimate bank but is really some scammers in some other country unfortunately preying on innocent people all over the world. Well, today is the 18th and I was notified the payment had been returned without any reason as to why.

I called Credit One's customer service, which took many many tries to get into. They told me possibly the payment will clear within another 5 days but that they recommended me to use Express Pay (9.95) in the future. He also told me to pay 10 days before the due date. I told the agent I wasn't interested in paying a late fee and he asked would I prefer to pay 25 or 9.95.

The other issue... It was near impossible to set up my online banking with Credit One. The app and website both kept returning an error which claimed my username and/or password attempts were incorrect. I made sure to write them down after 8 tries. Eventually it worked, but it wasn't easy. I suspect this, along with their circular electronic prompt on the phone, is part of a tactic to make customers crazy so they give up and face a late penalty. Every time I tried to log in it would say there was a problem processing my request and wouldn't load any of my information. I went to make a payment and it kicked me back to the log in screen. Ironically, whenever I hit the customer service link to find a way to contact someone directly, it also kicked me back to the log in screen. I don't know if they just really don't want to help their customers because they know their site is messed up or what. The mobile app and the website will probably continue to stay down so people have to call in and make payments and fork over extra money for "convenience". I don't know for whose convenience, certainly not the customers. All in all, this company couldn't care any less about its customers. They will happily screw you over time and time again and claim ignorance to the problem. Once I have this stupid card paid off, it's getting closed and the card is going in the shredder. I can't wait to be rid of these careless people.

I opened my account to improve my credit. I had been divorced and my ex had ruined my credit while we were married. This seemed like a good way to get it started again. I paid faithfully on my card, and received an offer for another. I took it, due to my kids needing some things, and my car suddenly needing repairs. Again, I paid for months in good faith, never missing a payment, and paying over what the minimum was. When I only owed a few hundred on each card, I made lump payments on each card, to the total of 1200 dollars. The new zero balance showed for a few days, but then reverted back to the previous total. Horrified, I called immediately. They told me that it was refunded to the originating bank, and that that bank was not approved for making payments. Which is ** because they were processing those payments for months, from the aforementioned bank.

A few days later, I saw no refund in my bank account. I called to find out what was going on. They said to wait two weeks, it would show up as refunded, it's still being processed. It was the strangest thing I ever heard. How can it take weeks to process a refund? It was 2016, not the eighties, they weren't issuing my bank the refund via snail mail. Still, I waited.

When the two weeks were over, I again called back. I was told it was refunded. I replied it wasn't. They kept insisting it was. When I asked what bank they refunded it to, I was told, the bank that made the payment. When I demanded the name of the bank, they did not know it. During that two weeks, I had continued to make payments on new incorrect total, which was minus the cashed payments. After weeks of this, I called and said if the money was not returned, I'd go to the State Attorneys office for fraud. My account disappeared. Every time I called was treated as the first time I called. Nobody could find my account, nor records of me calling.

After a few months of this, real life struck. I was again the victim of fraud, but it was of a different nature, and I was forced to put this on hold, while I tried to get our money back from somewhere else. Between that, back to school, physical therapy (both kids are disabled and take speech and physical therapies) I did not stay on top of it, and Credit One was no longer billing me. I find out later, that was because after stealing the payment, they sold my 'debt' to a debt collector. I'm lucky. While I do not have the bills from Credit One (I had gone green and done all my payments online) my bank still has a record of all the payments. So I am confident going to court in the future will erase this. You might not be so lucky, stay away from this company, it will wreck your finances.

Aside from all the negative reviews, I really haven't had any serious problems like all of the others on here. It does come down to really really keeping up with the account. There are some drawbacks though. The good experience is that I got a credit increase within 3 months. I didn't request they gave it. I also burn up the $300 credit limit and then pay it off or down to 30% or below before the statement so it can report 30% or under usage to the credit agencies, big time helping my credit score. So if you are not paying attention to your balances and when they report to the credit agencies then you are going to mess up your credit.

The drawbacks - Yes, they do charge you $9.99 if you want your payment $$ to use the next day. I never pay this, I just want the balance down if I am trying to make it before they report. I can wait the 4-5 days to use the $$. There is also a limit and online restriction when making multiple payments. You can only make 4 in one month. So if you are trying to say put $50, $20, $70 here and there, you're better off on saving those bucks and make a large payment.

Sometimes that can be hard because we all can have a tendency to use our cash fast. ;) The alternative is to use your bank account to make payments as a bill pay then you can as many payment to the card as you want. The supervisor explained to me it's the bank that restricts you to 4 payments a month. Also when I've had a problem, I've always asked to speak to a supervisor and it's fine. It's not a card for people who don't know how to manage credit cards because you can't get caught up real quick.

I have to wait 48 hours to use my card. I have other credit cards and they don't do business like this. STAY AWAY FROM CREDIT ONE. I am in the process of closing on a new home. This is quite possibly one of the most inept credit card companies in operation. My spouse, who had an account with Credit One Bank, passed away in May 2017. After notifying customer service of his passing not once but four times - and after sending a copy of his death certificate with a letter stating the account information by certified mail - Credit One Bank actually sold my deceased spouse's information to a collection agency. I had to call customer service yet again and talk to a series of representatives who, with all due respect, don't seem qualified to handle the financial information of customers.

Every other company I notified - including credit card agencies, banks, a student loan agency, and a hospital - didn't have any problems closing out the accounts. And, no, there was no resolution today beyond they "had to review the file". For what, exactly, I do not know. This is mismanagement at its finest, and I do not need to be harassed by this company because they are seemingly incapable of doing their job. They also knowingly sold false information to a collection agency seeing that someone at Customer Service signed off on the receipt of the death certificate. The last time I checked, that fits the definition of fraud.

Okay, that was my fault. Tried to make a payment again... Cannot access my account. Have to call to make payment. Charged an additional 9.95 to make the payment over the phone. Still cannot access my account... Call customer service and that is when they told I cannot access my account because they closed it... Claimed that 3 payments were non sufficient. When I explained that it was only 1 payment, he stated, "Well our records show three. Tried talking to the CSR and he was, to say the least, unhelpful. I asked why they only reported an increase in my balance. The representative never could explain why. I stated that I got this card to help my credit and this card has only hurt my credit. I have made every payment on time and I paid more than the minimum.

I asked what were the procedures on closing the account. After that the call disconnected. I went online and tried to make an additional payment and noticed that the account had been closed. I called and asked why the account had been closed. I was told by the representative that It is up to the representative's discretion to close the account without confirmation even if the call is disconnected. I asked to speak with a supervisor and none was available. He took my information for a callback. All I am wanting Credit One is to the right thing and reopen the account and report the credit bureau correctly and accurately. I only had a balance of $39.90 due on the account.

I have been paying the interest on an extra $1500 of what should have been reversed charges. The robotic, script reading customer service representatives have not once given me an inkling that this will be resolved. I have faxed and emailed documents from the vendor and the vendor's proof of funds released to Credit One Bank. They deny receiving said documents. Meanwhile, it is wreaking havoc on my credit because I'm "over the limit" and I cannot purchase things on credit, or apply for a much needed loan. They're holding me hostage over $1500. I wanted to increase my credit score so I applied for this card in January. By May, I was starting to suspect that they were not very honest. I looked at my account one day, only to see that they were claiming that my March payment was made late, despite the fact that I made that payment on the 1st when I paid all of my other bills. They charged a late fee when the payment had actually been 2 weeks early. In June, I requested a credit increase and they told me that they don't issue credit increases on my type of account, whatever that means. I got an email in June, stating that my payment was late. When I looked into it, they had charged the wrong account. That particular account didn't have enough to cover the payment so that cost me $35 at the bank for a return fee and another $35 with them even though it was their fault.

I remade the payment and just to be on the safe side, I saved the message stating, "6/21/2017 Payment: You authorized a one-time payment in the amount of $31.00 from your Bank Account ending in **. This will post to your Credit One Bank credit card account on 6/21/2017. Your funds will be available on 6/29/2017. Your reference number is bla, bla, bla." Then, without notifying me at all, I notice that I am over my limit but I have stopped using the card!

I called them and they claimed that I didn't make a payment even though I had saved the confirmation message! By then I had really gotten tired of them. I received an application for Capital One credit card, but little did I know it was not, it was Credit One Bank which carried the Capital One Bank logo, and out of my total bill which was for lunch, the outstanding bill was $188.00, $75.00 was for the card use so therefore, my actual charges were a total $113.00. I paid the bill when received. Now, with them stating that they did not receive my payment, it was always late. I was charged and paid amount but, they then added an additional $30.00 for late fee. Not realizing calling them, I received a notice from Comcast asking if I wanted international calling service on my bill. I said No. I have no one abroad. Yes, I did, and little to my surprise I was calling India via their 800 number. My credit limit was suppose to be $300.00 and then they said $200.00. I told Comcast I told I had no knowledge that I was making an international call to India or Pakistan. I was now shocked again.

So now my current balance was approximately $188.00. Again, I spoke to the same exact gentlemen with an accent of Pakistan or India, and advised him in March, 2016 that I was sending him a check for $188.00 and closed my account and that will end this nonsense. This same gentleman told me in an Arabic accent "No you cannot close your account even if you pay, you cannot close this account." I said to him, "I closed my Macy's account, there was a prompt for it. How come every number I call you answer. Are you the only employer/employee of Credit One Bank." I sent him $188.00 and advised him to close the account, period, end this nonsense. Then after all, I was finished with them. No, I wasn't. I received a letter from a collection agency in San Diego, CA. Spoke to gentleman there, he said he bought my debt.

Then I get a notice from my identity service that Credit One Bank filed a notice that he wrote the account off as a loss. He kept that account opened, incurred me to pay an additional $75.00 for the card and late fees up to and including August 2017; I called the agency, at an 800 number, explained the situation to him and he said that he bought the debt for $600.00. He wanted now $600.00 from me. I said ridiculous. So I called his superior, who had an 800 number, lo and behold, it was the same gentleman all along. Now I get another collection letter inside an envelope that had a return address in Minnesota for a 40% discount. I said to myself If I paid it and the line of credit of $200.00 how in the world could I owe him $600.00? Plus he charged it off as a loss on his end. I owe no creditors even up to the present date.

I have paid and closed all accounts except for Capital One, Kohl's, Synchrony Bank for Care Credit for my service dog, which I also have medical insurance for the service dog and Wells Fargo, and Discover, which is almost paid off in full and for which I pay on time. Walmart insisted I keep it opened. I said, "No, thank you" and they advised him if there are any promotions they would reopened my account. I have been harassed by Credit One Bank, mind you the same gentleman with whom was always talking to him. I am advised by Equifax and Experian that it was removed from my credit report as Credit One Bank is not permitted to do business in the US, and more particularly in Florida, USA, for which I reside. I am a USA citizen and a horribly injured 9/11 survivor including but not limited to severe PTSD, which their phone threats to me have made my life literally havoc.

TransUnion acknowledges that although they do take liens from companies, that they are not aware of the conduct of Credit One Bank. Experian and Equifax, after a 32 page report to me from both credit agencies immediately took it off. I am not trying to avoid any obligations, that I may owe which I don't, Transunion will not follow suit with the fraud upon American citizens in this country. Their threats I hope and pray are not from ISIS as I would like to keep my head on my shoulders. In the event you require the 32 page back and front I will be gladly to furnish same to you upon your request.

Please keep in mind that Credit One Bank is not a corporation that can legally do business in the USA more particularly Florida. Not only that, but the same gentleman who owns Credit One Bank and the collection agency, came in two envelopes. The outer envelope was from Minnesota, but the contents had a San Diego address. Credit One Bank is definitely not a Delaware corporation. If you can figure this out, I would be more than happy to hear your comments and in all honesty, that are fraudulently aggravating, running USA credits and I can go on and on. As previously indicated, If you give me your address, I can afford with copies of Equifax and Experian who have come to the same conclusion. I thank you for your time and consideration herein, I remain.

From the moment I signed up for this credit card I have had problems. The website is always under maintenance and will not accept my password or user name. It will not let me reset it as well. When I call them, to try to process a payment they want to charge me $9.95 to process it. I refuse to pay that amount. If your website will not let me make a payment you need to process it for free. I usually get it for free after much protest. This happens all the time. I know how to use a computer but they tell me to clear all cookies and delete my browser history but I am fully aware of that. I cannot stand this credit card company and feel as if they're going the extra mile to rip people off.

Terrible place. Credit One is all about sharecropping. Their membership fees, plus interest and hidden charges make it almost impossible for anyone to place off the account, get out from under them & move on to something else. Recently I had my fill and decided to pay them completely off. I called to cancel the card & also to receive an exact $ amount for the payoff. (The due date was a couple of weeks away, so this was at the beginning of the new cycle).

Once receiving the info I had a bank manager from my personal bank assist me in arranging to have the funds sent to pay Credit One off electronically. Why? Credit One is a bogus outfit that often assesses illegal fees - just to see how much they can get by with. The bank manager put a tracer on the electronic check & the next day Credit One received the funds & deposited it in their Las Vegas operations bank. I thought that would be the end of it. No it wasn't.

A month later Credit One sent me a bill for 57.00 claiming this was interest I was being assessed on the paid off account. I called Credit One immediately and got nowhere. The next step was to get my personal bank involved & arranged for a 3 way phone conversation. My bank told Credit One right out those charges were bogus and illegal. After about 15 minutes Credit One dropped the charges and declared the account paid off. My bank also taped the conversation. So beware of Credit One. They operate just within the law & will try to take you for as much money as they can.

I received an offer in the mail from this company and decided to sign up. This was June 17. I went online and filled out the application. The first thing I noticed is the automatic fill data when I went to put my address in. They had a former manager's address listed in Oregon as an option.... I'm in California. The only way they could have gotten that data was via Amazon when I purchased office supplies for him and had it direct shipped to his office in Oregon. They also had my current work address. I filled in my home address as the place to send the card and statements and submitted only this information.

Well, after 10 days I still hadn't gotten the card so; I called. They told me that they had sent me the card. I asked where. They told me that they weren't allowed to tell me where. I asked if it went to my home address and just gave them the city. They said no. I asked if it went to Oregon... no. I finally found out that they had sent it to my work. I asked them how they could have done that since I did not put my work address as the place to send me the card. They kept trying to tell me that this was the information they had. I finally told them to cancel and reissue (bad mistake). They did and I got the card on July 7th. I made 2 small transactions on it and haven't used it since.

Today, July 28th, I get a call saying I was delinquent on my card!! There was a $25 late fee added and they wanted me to give them my bank CC to make the payment. I asked them where my statement was. They kept insisting that they sent it and told me to check the post office (like this was going to do me any good). I said I did not get the statement and that I wanted the statement to make the payment and I wanted them to take the $25 late fee off since I did not get the card until July. According to them I've missed 2 payments... WTF, I haven't even had the card 3 weeks. Apparently, when they issued the card in June... even though I did not receive it and had a new one issued and didn't get that one till July 7th they had charged my account the "annual fee" of $45 plus some additional fees making my first billing $51.95.

Supposedly, they sent a statement for that (June 23rd) and supposedly there was another statement sent for the July 23rd due date. I kept telling him that I did not get a statement and he kept insisting that I did and that I should check the post office. I live in a small foothill community. I get my mail, and they seem to be able to send me promotional crap which I've gotten (Credit Card offers even though I am already with them) but, NO STATEMENT. I hated giving them my CC information but, they would waive the $25 late fee without me making a payment. I paid off everything and cancelled. BEWARE DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS COMPANY!!!

This card was paid in full last year. I continued to pay the monthly service fee. What a mistake. I should have canceled as soon as I had paid full charges on the account. Card is not used until about February 2017. By whom I have absolutely no idea. Charged by some company I do not know. For products I have no idea what they are. Most banks/credit cards you can report such things on their website. Not this bank. I had to write it, explain the problem. It was sent to the address listed on their website for fraud problems. Sent the first one, never heard back. Sent a second one with cut up card and asked to close the account, received letter stated they had no idea what I wanted. So I was to send them another letter with my problem and details.

Then I start getting these late payment calls. Ignored them at first but did finally answer and they wanted money. I explained everything that happened to date. Long conversation. Agree to send to me last 5 statements so I could mark and show what charges were not mine. He gave me an address to send it. See and it was not the address listed on the website for fraudulent charges. Anyway I received these statements. Marked all the charges which were all of them showing up. Sent a signed written letter with the information, Sent this certified.

April 20th 2017 I had received an email about suspicious charges so I'm told the account was temporarily suspended, I have been unable to access the account online. Today I received a statement with the charges still on the account but now with late fees and interest charges. I checked with USPS to see if last communication was received and it was on June 28 2017. So of course they are reporting this on my credit reports and it's dropping my ratings. I intend to file a complaint with the BBB and send the information to the Attorney General in Las Vegas Nevada and any other places I can file a complaint.

I didn't want to get this card to start my husband's credit, and I regret getting it now. I make the payments on his account. It is RIDICULOUS to have to pay extra to process a payment sooner. Every credit card I have had posts the amount immediately without having to pay extra and funds are available the next day. But not with Credit One. They charge $9.95. And if you do a standard payment, funds are not available for 5 or 6 business days.

A minimum payment was due on my husband's account. I tried to process a standard payment online. It said my request could not be processed at this time so to call this number. I called the number on Friday because the minimum payment is due Wednesday and the rep said they were going to process an express payment. I refused to pay it because the website was giving problems. The rep AGREED to waive the payment fee so it can post the same day since it was before 5pm and CONFIRMED that it was paid.

On the phone with them right now on Sunday, spoke with 2 reps who refused to verify if the payment posted without my husband's authorization. Then how can I process a payment without his authorization? Spoke to the manager. He reprocessed the payment and guaranteed it would go through this time once I spoke with my bank. It was showing up as declined, which is FALSE because my bank tells me about EVERY transaction. I called my bank and they have no record of the transaction.

After I got the card, I went to make a payment. I selected the Express Payment option and typed YES in their confirmation screen to pay it. I *thought* it went through, but it didn't. A few weeks later, I got put on the callbot again asking me to pay my balance -- to which I replied I had already paid the balance in full weeks earlier. Nope. And guess what? It went past 30 days, so they reported a late payment on my credit report. I have other cards and I have never missed a payment, so this report dropped my score nearly 90 points. I was shocked. I disputed it, asked for a goodwill adjustment since I paid the balance in full, only to be given generic, robotic responses that didn't even address the issue I had on their website.

Two things (one I should have done up front): 1. Always confirm your payment is made and get a confirmation number. I didn't do this because I had to run to a meeting right after I paid it and didn't realize there was an issue. (However, they should be able to see some record of my attempted payment in their web logs... but nobody even offered to do that to my written letter.) 2. Do not get this card. You are going to have to pay an annual fee right off the bat. Do yourself a favor and get a real secured card first and go from there.

If I had it to do over, I would not have ever signed up for this card. I haven't used the card since and have no intentions of doing so. I have been diligent about rebuilding my credit and the fact this card company -- in the business of helping people like me rebuild credit -- would be that disconnected and unwilling to work with me is the reason I have gone out of my way to find a legit review site and tell my story.

This company does not allow the option of scheduling a payment ahead of time as every other reputable company does. Obviously, this is for the purpose of hoping payers will miss the due date and end up with a late charge. I adjusted to that, though, and made the payments the date they were due for quite a while now.

Today I try to make such a payment, and they won't allow me to make another payment this month? And why is that? Because I'm trying to drive my balance down and made more than three payments in the period of 30 days! I definitely should be penalized for that. Don't you think? So now the actual payments that due will be the first late payment I've ever made? I call them up, they will not bend. "You've made more than three payments in a 30 day period!", they say. They send me to a supervisor who never answers. These people are crooks. Con artists. Seriously. They should not be allowed to do business in the US. I foolishly used it. 2 weeks after receiving card I was assessed a "Late Fee"! That's when I knew "Credit One" was TROUBLE! I cut up the card... paid for my purchases and the interest. I told them verbally while supposedly being "recorded" and sent them an email stating I was no longer a customer of theirs and that I had "cut up" my card. Since then "my balance" has gone up to nearly $400.00 because of "Late Fees". They've ruined what was a very good credit rating. They called daily... many times each day. It was of no use to try to "block" them. They have an endless supply of American phone numbers from all over the country.

I finally answered and was continuously transferred until I supposedly had the "main supervisor". I told him exactly what I've mentioned here already. During our conversation he told me he and the other callers were in "India". Their "accent" was a dead giveaway. He told me their main office was in Las Vegas. When I asked for that number he repeatedly told me he couldn't give me that number and wouldn't tell me why. They might have a P.O. BOX there... but that's it... I'm sure of that! I also asked how it is they have so many American phone numbers. He said they purchased them from "American Phone Company"! I told him I didn't see how that could be legal. I told him if I didn't get a letter from them saying I no longer owe them any money and if they didn't fix my "credit rating" I was going to go to everyone I could possibly go to to complain about their corruption and obvious scrupulous connection with the "Phone Company".

He finally said he would have to go over it with "his supervisor"! He said getting my credit rating back where it had been would take 6 to 9 months. They can ruin it overnight apparently but it takes very long to fix it! I of course don't believe anything will be done. They'll just keep adding late fees. Meanwhile everyone here says complain complain complain!!! But no one here can has done a damn thing to help! A couple of my credit cards I already had lowered my limits and raised my rates! So... they are no more! My own credit union who I've been with over 25 years... "Affinity Plus Credit Union"... told me... "Oh well... better pay them or they'll keep adding to what you owe". Thanks! I was assured that there would be NO problems while I was away if I had to use my card. While I was away dealing with the death of my mother, a supposed fraud dept rep called me. I assured her that I was in possession of the card, and she assured me that they were concerned about a specific and suspicious transaction. I told her that I indeed had made the purchase and she told me "thank you for verifying the transaction." I asked her if there were any other problems with my card and was assured, "No." I went to come back home and found that they had reported my card as stolen. I was arrested and put in jail, out of state.

When I returned home, the problems continued. Not once did I ever receive a single billing statement in the mail. They would only send me e-statements, which I told them I did not want. They would not remove me from e-statements. Now, as of yesterday, even though my entire balance was paid off IN FULL; months ago, I was served with a court summons. They had filed suit against me, alleging my account was seriously past due. It was paid in full, and when I informed the lawyers of this fact, the lawyers hung up on me. I spoke with my personal lawyer and was told that I had to appear in court and submit proof to the courts that the entire balance was paid in full. I sent them at the bank, a certified cashier's check for the final balance, and the bank cashed the check. I tried to setup an account online. It actually turns out I was able to, but the website had said it didn't work a time or two. I asked for them to email my password, but that didn't happen. I had wanted to pay my bill from my bank online. I did this about a week before my payment was due. I then thought my payment was due on the 26th, but it turns out it was due on the 22nd. I had planned on calling in and paying it by phone. Of course, you are charged a $9.95 fee for this. On the 23rd, I got a phone call that my account was delinquent and asked if I wanted to bring it current. One day. I was charged $25.00 because there is no grace period. Again, I truly tried to set it up to pay online and spent a lot of time trying to do that.

I made a payment to my bill by debit card, and they said I would be charged $9.95 for doing that. She waived the fee because I complained about the time and trouble to set up my account on the internet and pay that way. She said she could not waive the $25.00 fee but would be happy to refer me to a manager. I was frustrated and had already spent too much time on this card, and I was at work and didn't want to fool with it. I told her to please refer it to her manager about the waiver. This was yesterday, but of course the $25.00 one day late fee has not been waived.

This is the first month of my card. I absent-mindedly applied for the card, and there is nothing special about the way it looks, other than in my opinion this company tries to make you think they are CapitalOne with the swoosh. I have a CapitalOne card and am looking at it. In looking at my bill, I was charged $6.95 for a "Premium Design Fee." I don't recall requesting a "Premium Design," and this is just not something I would normally do. Perhaps I just checked a box absentmindedly and sent it in.

So... the payment from my debit card came out right away. Right away. This has not yet been posted to my account. I think maybe it takes five days? In the meantime, my account has gone over my $500.00 limit, and I fully expect to be charged on over-the-limit fee. That hasn't happened, but in reading reviews about this company, their deceit about trying to look like CapitalOne, the one-day $25.00 charge, wanting to charge $9.95 for making a payment, and the trouble setting up Internet access that I honestly believe is designed to be deceptive, I fully expect to charged for going 81 cents over my credit limit, even though it was caused by the $25.00 charge and the fact that they haven't posted my payment yet. If you like feeling afraid you will be charged excessively and feel that you are dealing with a company in a third-world country, this is the company for you.

I check the balance today and it is over the limit so I called because the information online showed nothing. I had not used this card in a month. Credit One Bank has two payment options. Standard is free and posts in five days. Express posts in a few hours but will cost you an additional 9.95. I chose standard as my due date was still 3 weeks away and made more than the minimum payment.

Two weeks later I tried to make a second payment. I had done that before with no issue but this time it would not allow it. So I called and was told that I had been assessed a late payment fee since my payment was due yesterday and now conveniently there was no sign of it. I was also assessed an overlimit fee, which is what actually put me over the limit. I started to question how all of this could be since I had made the payment and all of the aforementioned things and was quickly shut down with, "You have no recourse". Save yourself the headache and hassle. DO NOT GET THIS CARD!

Ok To make the express payment they charge you a fee (for you to have the credit available next day), so I pay the fee and this morning the available credit is not available! LIARS!!! I pay extra for nothing! I call customer service and the people are not from here, I couldn't understand the girl and she couldn't understand me, probably from India or other country. She told me the balance will not be available for 5 more days because I pay using my checking account. THEY STEAL FROM ME FOR THE EXPRESS PAYMENT and that's it! THE WORSE credit CARD EVER! Don't do it!!! I will wait for the credit be available and I'm calling them to cancel this card!

First of all is the same as the other's reviews, basically same problem so this is my nightmare. I got a credit line with this "bank" and been used for the last 5 months just 30% of my line of credit which always paid the full amount, a month and a half ago I replaced my Chase debit card because it was cracked in half, so when my Credit One Bank bill was about to be due I tried to pay online. Their system constantly was frozen and don't accept all the numbers I was putting in to. After the third attempt finally! It went through. I paid my full balance so after a month and a half I didn't use it until last week. I tried to use in Best Buy and declined, I called immediately Credit One Bank to find out why it was declined. I just wanted to know an explanation, customer service horrible. A person that don't know how to explain why! And barely speak English nor Spanish.

Told me in broken English that the reason why it was declined is because I tried to pay with bad check which told him that I never tried to pay with a check before. At last I asked him what was my due balance he told me it was 65 cents and I just leave it like that because I don't want to deal with him anymore, yesterday I was called them back again to find out what's the status of my account. First person rude. Can't communicate and just hang out to me then I called back again.

Another person that told me his name was Gustavo. Very bad broken Spanish basically same story, the only difference is that he told me the reason is because I made 3 attempts to pay with the same debit card and I explained to him that it was their system not me, and asked him what was my balance he said $23.96. Just in a week from 65 cents to $23.96 without use it, anyway I paid him the full amount just because I don't want any issue with my credit score. Hopefully I can get that account closed. I don't want to have any business with this people.

Credit One has a stringent policy with pending amounts, even in error. The issue was resolved and I look to maintain a lasting relationship with Credit One. Only thing missing was a nice or decent follow-up.

    Original Review: June 21, 2017

I have been with Credit One for about 3 years. I have not had one issue with this card until I had a glitch purchase go through my account. I went through various reps who had me repeat my issue over and over. I am a very good client with practically a zero balance every month. This has never happened and I really felt as if I did not have the support of the bank to resolve an obvious mistake. Even the vendor was on the line attempting to help me resolve the issue. 3 hours later, I am still looking for a resolution. To make matters worse, my credit statement is about to clear with a large balance that may post and I cannot make a payment because it is in a pending status.

This will be my first review for Credit One Bank. I will make another review once I have used the card more. First: I applied for a Credit One Bank credit card and was approved on 06/06/2017 for the Credit One Bank Platinum Visa. Right from the start it informed me if I chose a certain type of card design I would be charged a fee of $6.95. I was okay with that. So I chose my design and waited for my card to be sent. My card was shipped on 06/16/2017. Website stated it should be there by 06/26/2017. I received it by 06/19/2017. I think where the problem starts with certain people is they do not read. I said certain not all!

When I received my card (that goes for all new customers to credit cards) it came with a grey paper that gives you the breakdown of the terms for your card. I HIGHLY SUGGEST EVERYONE READ THAT WORD FOR WORD BEFORE YOU ACTIVE THE CARD. The very first page informed me of my APR rate, the minimum interest charge, set-up maintenance fees, annual membership fee, late fee additional user fee, etc..

One of the many complaints I have read was for the annual membership fee. That grey paper tells you when you active your card you will be charged the $75 (numbers can be different depending on your person agreement) annual fee right off the back. After the first year your annual fee will be $99 billed monthly for $8.25. You have a choice to reject this monthly charge after you receive your first billing statement only. If you have paid that $8.25 even one time you can no longer cancel. So if you were approved for a credit limit of $300, your annual fee of $75 will be deducted from that making your balance $225 for spending. In my case I got a card design for 6.95 (rounded up to 7) plus $75 for my available limit of $218.

Second - Logging into Credit One Bank Website: When I received my card, I immediately signed up for an online log in. However, right after I created it I couldn't log in (not one time). So I called customer service (although they don't speak good English, I am use to this because I work in insurance so I could understand enough). I informed the representative I could not log in. He walked me through the Forgot username/password sets. I had to create a new login. Not sure why when I had just made the one I had. But it worked.

Third - payment posting: Payment posting was another huge problem others commented on. Just browsing around the Credit One online portal I saw the standard payment (free of charge), it stated if I made a payment today 06/20/2017 my payment would post to my account by 06/27/2017. Although, that is extremely long at least it did inform me. The express payment ($9.95 charge), stated if I make the payment today 06/20/2017 my payment will post to my account by 06/21/2017. I have not tested this out yet to see if it actually will. That's why this says first review. I will make another review in a few months after I've received my first bill or two. This is just for the people THINKING about getting the card.

I have countless times asked for a credit increase. My initial credit was $400 and this is after they deducted the $75 annual fee. Credit One keeps refusing me of an increase, they send a letter in the mail stating the reason I was denied was because I have had their card less than one year. Okay, so today I call and the representative Olivia which sounded like a robot rather than a human tells me "no that not so, we get credit, one month, three month, six month." I said this isn't so, and I am sick and tired putting in for an increase, then seeing on my credit report hard inquiries. This card is ** and so are the representatives. If someone pays on time, they should be entitled an increase without all of Credit One bs stories.

This was the first card I received after my credit went to crap from when I lost my good paying job and had to take work paying half the income I used to make. Anyway, this is a subprime card and I understood that the interest rate was high. They also charge an annual fee that you can either pay each year in full or they will break it up and charge you each month for 12 months. I almost always pay the full amount I use each month. Sometimes I don't. I look at my statement and make sure the interest rate calculation is according to my rate for any balance I leave on the card till the next month. They've given me two increases but you have to for it. I think it $24. It's been worth it for me and it help me establish my credit enough even though I have several bad accounts on my credit report as I'm still digging myself out of the debt from when I lost my job.

I now have a few more cards but mainly to just help my credit. Whatever I charge, I try to pay right away. If I maintain any balances, I pay four or five times the minimum amount due so the interest really hasn't been that bad, like an amount I would pay for a drink or two. Just keep in mind, this is a subprime card, know what your interest rate is so you're not pissed off later, and whatever your due date is, put it in your head that it's due a week or more before, this way if you have some anomaly in accessing your account or whatever, you're still good. Pay it off each month or as much of it as you can but not the minimum.

My whole credit history is so bad, that I have had to file bankruptcy! As I have moved on, to rebuild my credit history and score. I have a credit card through Credit One Bank. First they started me out with only $250.00 credit line. I made my payments on time, and without asking for a credit line increase, I now have a $500.00 credit line. If this is as high as my credit line will go! I'm very happy about it. Now I have a Capital One Quicksilver, with a credit line of $500.00 also! And just a month ago!

I got the most best credit card, you can ever get! I have an American Express! And they started me out with a $1,000.00 credit line. Now as I have read about the American Express Card, which I have, after 30 days or 60 days, without missing payments. They, American Express, will increase your credit line up to 200%. I also have three of the most high interest rate cards which I use! I have Indigo, Total Visa and Milestone! And they only offer a $300.00 credit line only with a HIGH ANNUAL FEE! However I have each one of these paying for my internet shows, (#1) I have one paying for my Netflix! (#2) and the other paying for my Hulu. (#3) and my other one pays for my CBS.com.

All of which are low cost! Online shows. Then after I saw my billings for these online shows, I shared them, and kept them open! And yes! Each year I have to pay my high annual fees! On those three! But I only pay! Low! Monthly payments for my Netflix, Hulu, and CBS.com. And I pay these cards before the due dates. Which shows up on my credit report, of never being late!

Also I went and called all three credit bureaus and with a small fee of $5.00 to each one of the credit bureaus, I place a CREDIT LOCK! On my credit reports! So that no further credit request and be issued on my credit reports! But once you do this, you MUST keep your PIN NUMBERS! Because once you place a CREDIT LOCK on your credit report, you must have your pin number to UNLOCK your credit report! Please NOTE! If you have credit cards which you use, this CREDIT LOCK does not affect your credit card companies by reporting your credit history on your credit report! This CREDIT LOCK stops identity thieves from applying for credit in your name.

Their website's log in expires every 30 days (a serious flaw) and you have to re-set your online log-in/password every time (using your credit card numbers). I misplaced my credit card right before a European trip and I called to let them know that I couldn't find my card to pay my credit card. I asked them to grant me an extension and re-send the card. Total nightmare. I kept receiving harassing phone calls for payment. When I called again to tell them that I thought an extension had been granted and that I was waiting for the card, they had no record of it in their system. This happened three times. As a result my payment was delayed by over 30 days.

This was the first time in my 5 year history with them that I was that delinquent. They reported me to my credit agency!! Despite calling them every week and checking on the status of my card and letting them know that I would send payment as soon as I received it. I even paid the balance in full once I got the card. I am now currently on the phone with them demanding to know why my loyalty of five years meant nothing to them. I am closing this card. I can't deal with the crap they pull anymore. I'd rather take a closure on my credit history then give them my business.

I will start this by saying I have had my Credit One Platinum card for about five years now. I have lived at the same address for three. I logged into a third party credit monitoring service I use and found out that Credit One closed my credit line. They did this without emailing me, without mailing me any notice, or calling. When I called in the rep told me to verify my address for identity purposes so I gave them my address. Three minutes later, when I was able to ask about why my account was closed without my knowledge they said it was because of an address discrepancy and that they tried mailing me notification... They had my ** address on file to verify my information... Both in the online account center, and at their office. There was definitely not an address discrepancy, and they email me my payment confirmation every time I make a payment. Poor company structure and organization is what caused this issue.

I have never missed a payment, and whatever they are doing over there at Credit One just dropped my credit score thirty points because that was my oldest revolving account. It is also near impossible to get a rep on the phone. Companies like Credit One do this on purpose because they do not care about customer service, and they know they have a poor product. Their payments take forever to process so you cannot rely on this card for daily use, and they hardly offer any type of rewards points. Worst card I have ever had.

I have even had my credit limit raised by them from 500 to 800. Yes, it is for rebuilding credit and geared towards low credit score people but so what? It's not their fault they have to have high rates because people's credit scores are bad and they are taking a risk. This card along with a few more cards have helped my score from the 529 it was 10 months ago to a 648 it is right now. All you have to do is pay on time the minimum and that's it. At their website, I have registered and logged on all the time without a problem. Even their phone app works like a charm. Some reason it won't work on my computer at my job but I do use a ton of open applications that slow my internet down but no problems on my laptop at home or the desktop.

Just pay at least the minimum of what 35 bucks little before the due date and you are fine. It's that easy. If you are rebuilding your credit then you have to start somewhere. I now have a Citi card with zero percent for the first year, along with two Capital One buy power cards with cash back and an American Express card all because I rebuilt my credit starting with Credit One Bank. Never max the card out, always keep at least half available. That easy.

On the fourth call I was informed the block could only be lifted after I submitted ID to them for verification. Okay, fine. I wish the first CS rep had told me, but okay. So, I send my ID and call back about a week later and was told they hadn't received it yet and to call back in a few days. I call back three days later. The CS rep informs me they did receive my ID, however, they can't accept it because it's expired. (I don't drive anymore). I requested to close my account, but couldn't because of the block. I asked what I could do to get the block lifted and the CS rep finally agreed to accept my social security card for verification.

I mailed a copy of the card along with a letter requesting to close my account and settle my outstanding balance of $141. Called them a week later to confirm receipt of the letter and ID. They didn't get it, so call back in a few days. I call back in a few days, but still no letter and ID. The CS rep relented and agreed to close my account without verification. However, they would have to call me back within 72 hours to finalize that. Of course I never heard back from anyone.

So, I called again and spoke to a CS rep who gave me the runaround about sending in the same documents and blah, blah, blah. I told her what the last rep had agreed to, but they had no record that they would close my account. Shocker. I requested her to close my account, but she refused and gave me the same spiel. I hung up, shredded my card and will not pay the bill for $141. I'll take the hit to my credit score.
