Never had any issues until today to pay my bill online. Called the toll free number to speak with a "incompetent agent" who could barely speak English. Had to give this person all my info, ss #, mailing address, might as well say my DNA. Long story short, I advised the agent, "I can't make a payment online today since your website is down." "Well it's up on our end." What a complete lie. My husband works in IT and he couldn't even access it from his end. Then I contacted my girlfriend who lives in Orlando, FL and she had the same issues. The agent said, "We can allow you to make a payment on the phone, but you need to pay a $10 fee for this option." Said, "I shouldn't have to pay anything, zero, nada, since your website is down." I hung up and will check back tomorrow to see if website is up. Very disappointed with the service.

Please beware before applying for a credit card with this company. I have been in a very tough spot financially and resorted to applying with them, was approved with a $300 credit limit and figured I would keep the card tucked away for any emergencies that arose (medical, car, etc). Fast forward to exactly 30 days later and I still have not even received the actual card in the mail - instead, today I received a bill for $75 labeled as an "Annual Fee." I was charged a fee for a card that I have not received, activated, or used.
These "Set-up and Maintenance Fees" were outlined in the terms and conditions which is tucked away in a link which is separate from the actual application form, and it does state clearly that if you're established with a $300 credit line you will be charged an annual "Membership Fee" of $75 thus decreasing your available credit. The website does not require you to read the terms and conditions before proceeding (most honest companies do, I'm sure we all know those annoying pop-ups that make you check the box indicating that you read through the fine print). I will admit that I am an idiot for not catching this during the application process, and for assuming there were no catches with this card. But I don't want anyone to make the same mistake that I did.
So as fair warning, stay away from this "company." It is an intentional scam, and I believe they are trying to hook people who skim or skip the fine print completely so that they can have them activate these cards and be held accountable for these "membership fees." I am still floored to have received a bill without even having the physical card in my possession, or even access to the card number. Once you have activated this card, they steal your money - and if you don't pay these incredulous fees, they start charging late fees at $37 a pop.

I made a payment on my account in the amount of $375.41. I made this payment on October 5, 2017. Today is October 15, 2017 and I still do not have access to my funds. The company Blocked my card because they said I made a large payment. Now on the same day I made a payment to my Capital One credit card in the amount of $525.75 and didn't have any problems, my funds were available the very next day. Credit One always told I have to get a letter sign and dated from the bank showing I made a payment on Thursday. Please do not use them as a credit card company, consider using ANYBODY BUT CREDIT ONE BANK CARD.

I received this offer in September and was granted a card with $300 limit. Which is fine as I am rebuilding my credit. I used the card and decided to make a payment shortly a week later. I used the express pay option, using my checking account on October 2nd. The funds came out of my account on October 4th. On October 3rd I saw some of the funds were available. On October 6th I attempted to check my account to see if the remaining funds were available and received a message that my account had been temporarily suspended. I contacted customer service and was informed that I needed to send a bank verification letter. I initially agreed and asked for the name of the person, the department I was sending it to and the fax number. I was told a fax number and to send attention customer service and that my information wasn't going to anyone in particular.
I then stated that I would not send my banking information to a general fax machine, where anyone has access. I then asked why they needed it and I was told that because I used my checking account they needed to verify it was my banking information. It's not that they blocked my access to use the card as I have other cards, but they literally blocked my ability to see my account. It is now 11 days later, they received their funds and my account is still suspended. My bank did not alert them there was a concern with fraudulent activity, they are now saying this is standard practice for Credit One. It is fine if this is their practice when customers use their checking account to pay, however customers should be informed PRIOR to making a payment that even though the check clears, and they receive their funds, the customer's account will be suspended and the customer will no longer have access to see their account or to use the credit card.

This company charges you a monthly fee and also charges you a fee to increase your credit limit. The customer service dept is out of India and they are rude, abrasive and sarcastic. I canceled my card with them because it was expensive... fees, fees, fees! THERE ARE BETTER OPTIONS!

After not being able to log on to their website I resorted to making my payments over the phone. They required 10.00 dollars more for a fee. When I lost my credit card they required a 30 Fee to replace. I closed my account on May 2017. Continued to make payments, after making my final payment on Oct 3, 2017 of 79.49 I had called them the day before to make sure there will be no late charge for being a day late otherwise I would be glad to pay 10.00 processing fee. They said, "Your account is closed. There will be no fee." Payment was made. Account should have been closed. Now they say there is a 25.00 late fee owed and annual fee owed. And refuse to close account.

Very frustrating. Every time call to get answers to charges does not belong me and everyday I have been calling, every time I called at least 45 minutes. They will put me on hold. They cannot answer to my questions. However, if payment is late they're very quick to call.

Worse credit card company EVER! I recommend Not even my worse enemy to get this card. Made a payment on my account 9/21. 4 days later went to login to my account and found out it was temporally suspend. Called to find out telling me they need a letter proving it was me who made the payment, today is now 10/3 and my card has still yet to be able to use. Mind you I paid $200 for it and the extra to come out the next day. When I call customer service to speak to a manager he cant tell me why the bank (them) would do that?! Bottom line if you're thinking about getting this card save YOURSELF and the frustration. Their customer service sucks also. Not very servicey.

My complaint isn't about the card, it's the company that I have a problem with! If you are one day late on your payment, they will call you once every hour! And if you decide to answer for them, the collector will either have an attitude or will try to intimidate you into making a payment. Not cool, I'm very annoyed. Once I pay off the balance, I'm getting rid of the card.

Use the card to establish credit. When trying to make payments the website would always say webpage not available. When trying to make a phone payment that would even be made complicated so finally I was called to make a payment. Paid my loan in full and closed the account just to get another bill mailed to me regarding my account being open. Called again just to talk to some outsourced place. Said my account is to be closed and they said it already is, I said, "Then why do I have a bill?" Said it's closed. Asked for some confirmation number. Said they would mail me a letter. Just received in August. Now my credit score states I am delinquent on payments!! Never use this card.

I received this credit card at the same time Capital One was sending replacement credit cards with chips. When I received I didn't take a good enough look at the logo (they are intentionally deceptive). I put it in my wallet thinking it was my Credit One card with new chip. Go to dinner with friends, submit the card for payment - again not noticing it's not my Credit One card.
A couple days later I go to the store, present the same card and it's declined. I use another card to pay and call Credit One when I get home to find out why my charge didn't go thru. After a few minutes on the phone with Credit One I take out the card and realize it's not a Credit One card. I contacted Credit One, was convinced to keep the card but decided I would pay the balance and cut it up. I felt deceived. First statement brings a bigger surprise. My $40 dinner now totaled almost $200 with start up fees. I paid my total thinking lesson learned. Check before I put anything in my wallet.
I cannot articulate what their process is with payments and fees and timing. But I was off because apparently I incurred more fees. Hopefully the end of this nightmare is near. They got an $800 judgment against me and a lien against my bank account. I called them several time to explain what happened in an attempt to get fees credited but they don't talk to anyone who owes less than $1000.

I have had the worst experience dealing with this company. I have had their card for over a year. I have always paid on time and even paid the card off on several occasions using the online phone app. About 45 days, I went to the online app to make my payment and noticed that my Visa card wasn't visible anymore. So I paid my MC bill then called to inquire about the Visa. The CSR on the phone informed me that my card had a fraudulent alert placed on it. I asked for details, they refused to expound and treated me like I was crook. The CSR told me to send them a copy of my Driver's License, Social Security Card, and any bill that displayed my address as long as it matched the address on my driver's license. I mailed these items to PO 98873, Las Vegas, NV 89193 as requested and waited 2 business weeks to be contacted by phone or mail. I never received any communication so I called to inquire.
The CSR informed me that she had limited system access and apologized because she couldn't help me. I called back a couple of days later to inquire again, I was informed the same thing and that the data I sent to Vegas was being handled by that office. I had to continue to wait until the system updated. I become even more frustrated, at this point my bill coming due again and I do not have any online visibility nor am I getting any bills in the mail. So I called back to inform them of this, the CSR gave me the amount over the phone, I instructed her I needed a bill sent to me so I can pay it and see what's going on with my account. Then I received notification that my card has been deactivated and closed by them because of card abuse.
CARD ABUSE! They refused to send me a bill. At this point I have lost all faith in this company and certainly wasn't going to take their word for it. As far as I know, they are the FRAUDSTERS! Weeks went by up until this morning, they called me for a payment. REALLY! I have yet to receive an invoice via mail. After 3 transfers and 20 minutes of being placed on hold while I am at work, I get Winston who informs me that now they need me to send a utility bill with my address.
This is crazy to me. I still have MC with them that can be used to validate data for whatever reason. It's been 30 days and they are just not informing me of status and that additional data is needed. Now I have to wait another month before it's resolved! BTW, I was informed they are still charging me late fees and other charges but I never received the bill I've been requested. I HIGHLY recommend CAPITAL ONE to anyone that's looking for a credit card. CREDIT ONE has HORRIBLE Customer Service and loads you up with unnecessary fees. It takes them months to resolve a simple issue THEY created but it's MY FAULT. They do not mind inconveniencing their customers for nonsense! Angry Customer!

First, I have no account with Credit One Bank but they have called me 13 times in the last 4 days. I have received several applications in the mail recently from them which I ignored so they proceeded with continual annoying calls. I don't know how they got my cell phone and other info but I am one of the people breached by Equifax so I suspect Credit One is in on that deal. I checked my credit report and it shows no inquiry from this company so they must have got info illegitimately. Now here is the most frustrating part. Since they called from same number 7 times in 24 hours, I blocked the number. I refuse to answer any number I don't recognize. I will call the number back to see who it is.
After I blocked their first number, I received 6 calls from 4 different numbers. I called all 4 and recording said, “Welcome to Credit One Bank.” They must have an endless list of numbers they use to call from so that you cannot possibly block all of them because if you do, they just use a different number. I am glad I did not fall for the application they sent in mail and give them any more of my info as that would have been an even worse nightmare. I am just writing this to warn others and hoping Consumer Affairs can find out who is behind this scam that pretends to be a legitimate bank but is really some scammers in some other country unfortunately preying on innocent people all over the world. I feel sorry for those who do have account with them. I can just ignore the calls that constantly disrupt my life but these people may never be rid of them indicated by the number of negative reviews.

Unexpectedly, Credit One Bank on 09/20/2017, decided in the middle of the billing period to change my MasterCard number. The billing period for my MC closed on 9/4. I had an extremely low balance of 2%. The problem that I have with this is, instead of changing the card number, they transferred the entire balance to a brand new account, with no notice so that I could pay the balance since they reported the new account's balance. I went in on 09/21/2017 to make a routine payment and found this out. I also have a Visa account that they did not change out due to the Equifax breach even though they both report to all the Credit Bureaus. The dropped my hard earned credit score from 732 to 662. I went from a Good credit risk to a Fair credit risk through no fault of my own OVERNIGHT. I literally was going to apply with my Bank for a new car loan today. I am hereby and officially screwed for about another month now. Thanks C1B!

It is my first month with the card and my statement reflected my minimum balance would be due on 16 September. I sent a bank to bank payment on 13 September and checked daily on my checking account if the payment had yet been deducted. Well, today is the 18th and I was notified the payment had been returned without any reason as to why.
I called Credit One's customer service, which took many many tries to get into. They told me possibly the payment will clear within another 5 days but that they recommended me to use Express Pay (9.95) in the future. He also told me to pay 10 days before the due date. I told the agent I wasn't interested in paying a late fee and he asked would I prefer to pay 25 or 9.95.
The other issue... It was near impossible to set up my online banking with Credit One. The app and website both kept returning an error which claimed my username and/or password attempts were incorrect. I made sure to write them down after 8 tries. Eventually it worked, but it wasn't easy. I suspect this, along with their circular electronic prompt on the phone, is part of a tactic to make customers crazy so they give up and face a late penalty. Website and customer service: NOT user friendly. I am still unsure as to why my transfer was returned and apparently (based on prior reviews), bill pay is not accepted.

March 2017, My account information had been compromised. I was assured the account was no longer active. August 2017, I sent a payment into the company to bring my account balance current. Needless to say it was applied to the closed account. I had contacted Credit One over a 3 week period of time and was told numerous times that the payment was not received. It in fact had been and was applied to the closed account, meanwhile charges are being added to my account.
Then when it was in fact confirmed that the payment was applied to the account that I was assured months prior was closed. So my issue now is not the payment, but the compromised account. In no way would I recommended Credit One Bank Card. Capital One or First Premier are definitely more reliable and safe. After the 3rd week and reassuring me the payment would be applied to the correct account, it had not been, and I would have to wait an additional 72 hours, so we are in week 4 at this point.

After not being able to access my account online for more than the first 45 days and calling more than 4 times. It wasn't until I refused to pay that I was finally able to log into my online account. I made my full account balance payment for $301 which included a BS late fee that put me over the limit. Plus $9.98 for express payment total of $311.98. After 2 days I found out that my funds would not be released because I chose to pay using my bank account info instead of my bank card. So I demanded a refund of my express fee. On the following day when I viewed my account again I then I realized Not only did I pay $311.98 but they charged an additional 9.98 fee. (they charged me twice) So I had to call again and after going in circles for about 30 minutes the additional monies was credited back as well.
I SUGGEST EVERYONE CHECK THEIR STATEMENTS. I opted to go green because I'm moving but as soon as I get settled in I'm requesting paper statements again. I have to really Keep my eyes on this company. I decided this card is only for credit building... meaning I'll only use it for my cell phone bill and internet. Nothing more just for activity. But nothing more. #ClassActionLawsuit

I got this credit card A $300.00 limit then went up to $450.00 in the first 3 months. Had this for about a year. I never was late with a payment. They wanted my saving account INFO as I was making my payments online then I got upset and paid it all off. It was $454.00. I made a Express Payment $10.00, another $10.00 fee and told them to cancel my card. I ask if there was any other fees? The customer service rep said no. Not that she could see unless a charge that I made did not go through yet. Well I had no other pending charges. The next billing statement I owed another $3.54. I sent a check to pay it off again thinking this nightmare was over. Well not. So today I get another bill saying I owe them 6 cents. This is on the interest folk of the $3.54 and they keep reporting this to my credit. Please no matter how hard of a pinch you're in stay away from this credit card company. Not worth all the hassle.

My late husband after he started paying back as student loans was offered several credit cards. He had problems with Capital One and HSBC. But Credit One did give him a card. The problem with them is that they bug you after you've had it for a while to increase your credit by about $24 or something close to that. Now the worst thing is that if something goes wrong and you call their number what do you get. I recorded message. You have to figure out how to get in touch with a human voice. No matter how hard you try it's recorded message. I did a little research and evidently Credit One is in the Philippines and they use the Las Vegas as their mailing address. The only thing good I can say about it is that when I reported to them that my husband had passed away they close the account.
Friday that I told them that we had moved and I gave them the address of our new place. We never got a credit card the last thing we heard was it had been noted. No statements ever came to our new address until we got a collection letter. Would you believe they sent me an offer for a credit card of course I shredded it. I'm not interested in it at all and their own line app is so crappy it's not even worth trying to get on it. So I say to anybody if you nobody who gets a Credit One pre-authorized request for credit shred it immediately and never ever open one with them.

I applied for this card to help build my credit. Turns out it has done the complete opposite. I did not realize that within a few weeks you are supposed to pay the annual fee (even if the card was not activated yet). Once I did activate the card I went to the internet site to sign up. The internet site is nothing but a joke, when I attempted to sign in, it keep saying error and to try again later. 6 days of trying to establish an account to pay my bill. I finally contacted customer service and all they offered was to pay the advanced pay which cost 9.95. I explained that I would rather set it up online and he just told me to keep trying. I continued for 2 days till finally getting through to pay my bill.
In the 2 months that I have had this card I was charged 140 for activation and late fees even though I spoke with customer service about not being able to get into the internet site. I have completely paid off the card fees and still have not used it (and don't ever plan to). In the 2 months that I had the card it dropped my credit by 46 points. I just want people to be more careful when choosing a card. I do not think they deserve any stars and if I could give them a zero I would.

I've had this credit card for a few years now; and I used to not have a problem making a payment online but over the last few months, the online site/app has just been "dead". Every time I tried to log in it would say there was a problem processing my request and wouldn't load any of my information. I went to make a payment and it kicked me back to the log in screen. Ironically, whenever I hit the customer service link to find a way to contact someone directly, it also kicked me back to the log in screen. I don't know if they just really don't want to help their customers because they know their site is messed up or what. In the end I had to call someone and make a payment over the phone with a $9.95 "convenience fee" so my payment wasn't what it was supposed to be but $10 more. That pissed me off. I live off a very tight budget and I know $10 doesn't seem like much to most people but to some, that's a lot.
That was money to go to gas for me; these people and their hidden fees for "convenience" really screwed me up this month and I have a feeling that the same thing will continue to happen. The mobile app and the website will probably continue to stay down so people have to call in and make payments and fork over extra money for "convenience". I don't know for whose convenience, certainly not the customers. All in all, this company couldn't care any less about its customers. They will happily screw you over time and time again and claim ignorance to the problem. Once I have this stupid card paid off, it's getting closed and the card is going in the shredder. I can't wait to be rid of these careless people.

I opened my account to improve my credit. I had been divorced and my ex had ruined my credit while we were married. This seemed like a good way to get it started again. I paid faithfully on my card, and received an offer for another. I took it, due to my kids needing some things, and my car suddenly needing repairs. Again, I paid for months in good faith, never missing a payment, and paying over what the minimum was. When I only owed a few hundred on each card, I made lump payments on each card, to the total of 1200 dollars. The new zero balance showed for a few days, but then reverted back to the previous total. Horrified, I called immediately. They told me that it was refunded to the originating bank, and that that bank was not approved for making payments. Which is ** because they were processing those payments for months, from the aforementioned bank.
A few days later, I saw no refund in my bank account. I called to find out what was going on. They said to wait two weeks, it would show up as refunded, it's still being processed. It was the strangest thing I ever heard. How can it take weeks to process a refund? It was 2016, not the eighties, they weren't issuing my bank the refund via snail mail. Still, I waited.
When the two weeks were over, I again called back. I was told it was refunded. I replied it wasn't. They kept insisting it was. When I asked what bank they refunded it to, I was told, the bank that made the payment. When I demanded the name of the bank, they did not know it. During that two weeks, I had continued to make payments on new incorrect total, which was minus the cashed payments. After weeks of this, I called and said if the money was not returned, I'd go to the State Attorneys office for fraud. My account disappeared. Every time I called was treated as the first time I called. Nobody could find my account, nor records of me calling.
After a few months of this, real life struck. I was again the victim of fraud, but it was of a different nature, and I was forced to put this on hold, while I tried to get our money back from somewhere else. Between that, back to school, physical therapy (both kids are disabled and take speech and physical therapies) I did not stay on top of it, and Credit One was no longer billing me. I find out later, that was because after stealing the payment, they sold my 'debt' to a debt collector. I'm lucky. While I do not have the bills from Credit One (I had gone green and done all my payments online) my bank still has a record of all the payments. So I am confident going to court in the future will erase this. You might not be so lucky, stay away from this company, it will wreck your finances.

Aside from all the negative reviews, I really haven't had any serious problems like all of the others on here. It does come down to really really keeping up with the account. There are some drawbacks though. The good experience is that I got a credit increase within 3 months. I didn't request they gave it. I also burn up the $300 credit limit and then pay it off or down to 30% or below before the statement so it can report 30% or under usage to the credit agencies, big time helping my credit score. So if you are not paying attention to your balances and when they report to the credit agencies then you are going to mess up your credit.
The drawbacks - Yes, they do charge you $9.99 if you want your payment $$ to use the next day. I never pay this, I just want the balance down if I am trying to make it before they report. I can wait the 4-5 days to use the $$. There is also a limit and online restriction when making multiple payments. You can only make 4 in one month. So if you are trying to say put $50, $20, $70 here and there, you're better off on saving those bucks and make a large payment.
Sometimes that can be hard because we all can have a tendency to use our cash fast. ;) The alternative is to use your bank account to make payments as a bill pay then you can as many payment to the card as you want. The supervisor explained to me it's the bank that restricts you to 4 payments a month. Also when I've had a problem, I've always asked to speak to a supervisor and it's fine. It's not a card for people who don't know how to manage credit cards because you can't get caught up real quick.

This is quite possibly one of the most inept credit card companies in operation. My spouse, who had an account with Credit One Bank, passed away in May 2017. After notifying customer service of his passing not once but four times - and after sending a copy of his death certificate with a letter stating the account information by certified mail - Credit One Bank actually sold my deceased spouse's information to a collection agency. I had to call customer service yet again and talk to a series of representatives who, with all due respect, don't seem qualified to handle the financial information of customers.
Every other company I notified - including credit card agencies, banks, a student loan agency, and a hospital - didn't have any problems closing out the accounts. And, no, there was no resolution today beyond they "had to review the file". For what, exactly, I do not know. This is mismanagement at its finest, and I do not need to be harassed by this company because they are seemingly incapable of doing their job. They also knowingly sold false information to a collection agency seeing that someone at Customer Service signed off on the receipt of the death certificate. The last time I checked, that fits the definition of fraud.

I got the card, no problem. I used it, no problem. I made a payment in August BEFORE my bill was due, but because my math was off, my 120.00 debit payment to them was returned, "insufficient"... Okay, that was my fault. Tried to make a payment again... Cannot access my account. Have to call to make payment. Charged an additional 9.95 to make the payment over the phone. Still cannot access my account... Call customer service and that is when they told I cannot access my account because they closed it... Claimed that 3 payments were non sufficient. When I explained that it was only 1 payment, he stated, "Well our records show three. Tried talking to the CSR and he was, to say the least, unhelpful. When I asked why they never told me that my account would be closed, he said, "Why would we tell you that?" Never again. This is not a good way to run a company.

Closure of account with no confirmation or validation I contacted Credit One to ask why they never reported to the credit bureau of a decrease in balance. I asked why they only reported an increase in my balance. The representative never could explain why. I stated that I got this card to help my credit and this card has only hurt my credit. I have made every payment on time and I paid more than the minimum.
I asked what were the procedures on closing the account. After that the call disconnected. I went online and tried to make an additional payment and noticed that the account had been closed. I called and asked why the account had been closed. I was told by the representative that It is up to the representative's discretion to close the account without confirmation even if the call is disconnected. I asked to speak with a supervisor and none was available. He took my information for a callback. All I am wanting Credit One is to the right thing and reopen the account and report the credit bureau correctly and accurately. I only had a balance of $39.90 due on the account.

They allowed a charge to go through 3 times that pushed my balance over the limit, it was attempted and declined then finally allowed after I decided to pay vendor with cash. The vendor reversed the charges to Credit One Bank and Credit One Bank still has not applied them to my account. It has been 5 months. I have been paying the interest on an extra $1500 of what should have been reversed charges. The robotic, script reading customer service representatives have not once given me an inkling that this will be resolved. I have faxed and emailed documents from the vendor and the vendor's proof of funds released to Credit One Bank. They deny receiving said documents. Meanwhile, it is wreaking havoc on my credit because I'm "over the limit" and I cannot purchase things on credit, or apply for a much needed loan. They're holding me hostage over $1500. I call every month and it's as if I'm calling for the first time. Very disappointing.

I was told that I had to fax or mail copies of my driver's license and a utility bill to take care of a discrepancy involving my address. They said that Visa International was requiring the information. When I called Visa INTERNATIONAL I was informed that it was Credit One that was requiring the documentation. All I got was a big run around and a huge amount of stress. I closed my account after reading all of the horrible reviews on this site. Be aware of this company. My transaction is denied and after calling customer service and been told I was denied because I was outside of United States and I didn't notified them before my trip. I was told 3 times to wait 5 minutes and run the charge again. I ended up not being able to use my card for this purchased. Then I used my Amex card and like everyone knows no problem at all using Amex when you travel. They are without a question the best credit card company in the whole world. P.S. Last month they added charges making me 30.00 over the limit on the day they report to the credit bureau. They turned me in as a high risk to all three bureau's for having a 30.00 over the limit and, it lowered my score by 46 points. I have been fighting with them and got nowhere to remove it. I will then call and speak with most unhelpful pea-brains in their call center. First 2 scenarios I was promised that no late fee and no express fee due to their web issues, but yet after 24hrs my account occurred late fee. I will then contact anyone that could help but I get a NO with the answer, "No record any agent waived any fee.” Therefore, no integrity.
Today, I called for the same issue and spoke to heartless moron male agent name RED (of course a fictitious name) ext#**. After expressing the frustration, this man expressed no apologies for the inconvenience and instead tried to preach me that their payment system is only compatible with desktop. Obviously, this boy has no listening skills. He then said he can assist me on the phone but he will charge $9.00 express payment fee because standard fee is not possible to be done over the phone (another bunch of **).
After a long talk he then said he will waive the express fee but cannot assure he can waive the late fee of $25.00. This company nickel and dime and make so much money from late fee from customers like me who can only pay right exactly on the day of. And this is a great opportunity for all of a sudden system not working and no matter how much I as a customer express it is the system at fault and not the customer...their ears, understanding, and considerations are still shut.
This company lacks the integrity. The agents lacks people skill, listening skill, and are just purely trained to be scumbags penny suckers for the company. The website modus operandi is a very sad way to trap customers into fees and get more money from customers. Do not sign up for this credit card. Look into credit union options. I wanted to increase my credit score so I applied for this card in January. By May, I was starting to suspect that they were not very honest. I looked at my account one day, only to see that they were claiming that my March payment was made late, despite the fact that I made that payment on the 1st when I paid all of my other bills. They charged a late fee when the payment had actually been 2 weeks early. In June, I requested a credit increase and they told me that they don't issue credit increases on my type of account, whatever that means. I got an email in June, stating that my payment was late. When I looked into it, they had charged the wrong account. That particular account didn't have enough to cover the payment so that cost me $35 at the bank for a return fee and another $35 with them even though it was their fault.
I remade the payment and just to be on the safe side, I saved the message stating, "6/21/2017 Payment: You authorized a one-time payment in the amount of $31.00 from your Bank Account ending in **. This will post to your Credit One Bank credit card account on 6/21/2017. Your funds will be available on 6/29/2017. Your reference number is bla, bla, bla." Then, without notifying me at all, I notice that I am over my limit but I have stopped using the card!
I called them and they claimed that I didn't make a payment even though I had saved the confirmation message! By then I had really gotten tired of them. In August, I went to log-in and make an online payment like I always do and I am locked out of my account! I called them only to be told that they have closed my account because I don't make my payments on time!!! I made two payments, never heard from them so I assumed everything was fine. Today I tried to get on my app to check my account and it told me it was locked! So I called and they closed my account because my payments were returned because of their app malfunction!! On top of that they charged me two 25$ fees for each on and late fees putting my account over the limit! I didn't receive one email, one phone call, one email, nothing! I haven't even received a statement since I got the card!
So I called and talked to a non-English rep who was rude and made it out to be my fault and basically told me I'm screwed so I told him I want to cancel my card and he said, "Fine. I received an application for Capital One credit card, but little did I know it was not, it was Credit One Bank which carried the Capital One Bank logo, and out of my total bill which was for lunch, the outstanding bill was $188.00, $75.00 was for the card use so therefore, my actual charges were a total $113.00. I paid the bill when received. Now, with them stating that they did not receive my payment, it was always late. I was charged and paid amount but, they then added an additional $30.00 for late fee. Not realizing calling them, I received a notice from Comcast asking if I wanted international calling service on my bill. I said No. I have no one abroad. Yes, I did, and little to my surprise I was calling India via their 800 number. My credit limit was suppose to be $300.00 and then they said $200.00. I told Comcast I told I had no knowledge that I was making an international call to India or Pakistan. I was now shocked again.
So now my current balance was approximately $188.00. Again, I spoke to the same exact gentlemen with an accent of Pakistan or India, and advised him in March, 2016 that I was sending him a check for $188.00 and closed my account and that will end this nonsense. This same gentleman told me in an Arabic accent "No you cannot close your account even if you pay, you cannot close this account." I said to him, "I closed my Macy's account, there was a prompt for it. How come every number I call you answer. Are you the only employer/employee of Credit One Bank." I sent him $188.00 and advised him to close the account, period, end this nonsense. Then after all, I was finished with them. No, I wasn't. I received a letter from a collection agency in San Diego, CA. Spoke to gentleman there, he said he bought my debt.
Then I get a notice from my identity service that Credit One Bank filed a notice that he wrote the account off as a loss. He kept that account opened, incurred me to pay an additional $75.00 for the card and late fees up to and including August 2017; I called the agency, at an 800 number, explained the situation to him and he said that he bought the debt for $600.00. He wanted now $600.00 from me. I said ridiculous. So I called his superior, who had an 800 number, lo and behold, it was the same gentleman all along. Now I get another collection letter inside an envelope that had a return address in Minnesota for a 40% discount. I said to myself If I paid it and the line of credit of $200.00 how in the world could I owe him $600.00? Plus he charged it off as a loss on his end. I owe no creditors even up to the present date.
I have paid and closed all accounts except for Capital One, Kohl's, Synchrony Bank for Care Credit for my service dog, which I also have medical insurance for the service dog and Wells Fargo, and Discover, which is almost paid off in full and for which I pay on time. Walmart insisted I keep it opened. I said, "No, thank you" and they advised him if there are any promotions they would reopened my account. I have been harassed by Credit One Bank, mind you the same gentleman with whom was always talking to him. I am advised by Equifax and Experian that it was removed from my credit report as Credit One Bank is not permitted to do business in the US, and more particularly in Florida, USA, for which I reside. I am a USA citizen and a horribly injured 9/11 survivor including but not limited to severe PTSD, which their phone threats to me have made my life literally havoc.
TransUnion acknowledges that although they do take liens from companies, that they are not aware of the conduct of Credit One Bank. Experian and Equifax, after a 32 page report to me from both credit agencies immediately took it off. I am not trying to avoid any obligations, that I may owe which I don't, Transunion will not follow suit with the fraud upon American citizens in this country. Their threats I hope and pray are not from ISIS as I would like to keep my head on my shoulders. In the event you require the 32 page back and front I will be gladly to furnish same to you upon your request.
Please keep in mind that Credit One Bank is not a corporation that can legally do business in the USA more particularly Florida. Not only that, but the same gentleman who owns Credit One Bank and the collection agency, came in two envelopes. The outer envelope was from Minnesota, but the contents had a San Diego address. Credit One Bank is definitely not a Delaware corporation. If you can figure this out, I would be more than happy to hear your comments and in all honesty, that are fraudulently aggravating, running USA credits and I can go on and on. As previously indicated, If you give me your address, I can afford with copies of Equifax and Experian who have come to the same conclusion. I thank you for your time and consideration herein, I remain.

Terrible place. Credit One is all about sharecropping. Their membership fees, plus interest and hidden charges make it almost impossible for anyone to place off the account, get out from under them & move on to something else. Recently I had my fill and decided to pay them completely off. I called to cancel the card & also to receive an exact $ amount for the payoff. (The due date was a couple of weeks away, so this was at the beginning of the new cycle).
Once receiving the info I had a bank manager from my personal bank assist me in arranging to have the funds sent to pay Credit One off electronically. Why? Credit One is a bogus outfit that often assesses illegal fees - just to see how much they can get by with. The bank manager put a tracer on the electronic check & the next day Credit One received the funds & deposited it in their Las Vegas operations bank. I thought that would be the end of it. No it wasn't.
A month later Credit One sent me a bill for 57.00 claiming this was interest I was being assessed on the paid off account. I called Credit One immediately and got nowhere. The next step was to get my personal bank involved & arranged for a 3 way phone conversation. My bank told Credit One right out those charges were bogus and illegal. After about 15 minutes Credit One dropped the charges and declared the account paid off. My bank also taped the conversation. So beware of Credit One. They operate just within the law & will try to take you for as much money as they can.

I received an offer in the mail from this company and decided to sign up. This was June 17. I went online and filled out the application. The first thing I noticed is the automatic fill data when I went to put my address in. They had a former manager's address listed in Oregon as an option.... I'm in California. The only way they could have gotten that data was via Amazon when I purchased office supplies for him and had it direct shipped to his office in Oregon. They also had my current work address. I filled in my home address as the place to send the card and statements and submitted only this information.
Well, after 10 days I still hadn't gotten the card so; I called. They told me that they had sent me the card. I asked where. They told me that they weren't allowed to tell me where. I asked if it went to my home address and just gave them the city. They said no. I asked if it went to Oregon... no. I finally found out that they had sent it to my work. I asked them how they could have done that since I did not put my work address as the place to send me the card. They kept trying to tell me that this was the information they had. I finally told them to cancel and reissue (bad mistake). They did and I got the card on July 7th. I made 2 small transactions on it and haven't used it since.
Today, July 28th, I get a call saying I was delinquent on my card!! There was a $25 late fee added and they wanted me to give them my bank CC to make the payment. I asked them where my statement was. They kept insisting that they sent it and told me to check the post office (like this was going to do me any good). I said I did not get the statement and that I wanted the statement to make the payment and I wanted them to take the $25 late fee off since I did not get the card until July. According to them I've missed 2 payments... WTF, I haven't even had the card 3 weeks. Apparently, when they issued the card in June... even though I did not receive it and had a new one issued and didn't get that one till July 7th they had charged my account the "annual fee" of $45 plus some additional fees making my first billing $51.95.
Supposedly, they sent a statement for that (June 23rd) and supposedly there was another statement sent for the July 23rd due date. I kept telling him that I did not get a statement and he kept insisting that I did and that I should check the post office. I live in a small foothill community. I get my mail, and they seem to be able to send me promotional crap which I've gotten (Credit Card offers even though I am already with them) but, NO STATEMENT. Most banks/credit cards you can report such things on their website. Not this bank. I had to write it, explain the problem. It was sent to the address listed on their website for fraud problems. Sent the first one, never heard back. Sent a second one with cut up card and asked to close the account, received letter stated they had no idea what I wanted. So I was to send them another letter with my problem and details.
Then I start getting these late payment calls. Ignored them at first but did finally answer and they wanted money. I explained everything that happened to date. Long conversation. Agree to send to me last 5 statements so I could mark and show what charges were not mine. He gave me an address to send it. See and it was not the address listed on the website for fraudulent charges. Anyway I received these statements. Marked all the charges which were all of them showing up. Sent a signed written letter with the information, Sent this certified.
April 20th 2017 I had received an email about suspicious charges so I'm told the account was temporarily suspended, I have been unable to access the account online. Today I received a statement with the charges still on the account but now with late fees and interest charges. I checked with USPS to see if last communication was received and it was on June 28 2017. So of course they are reporting this on my credit reports and it's dropping my ratings. I intend to file a complaint with the BBB and send the information to the Attorney General in Las Vegas Nevada and any other places I can file a complaint.

You will have the available credit at 300 your card will decline still. Every single day my account access is disabled, if you make too many purchases 3-4 they put your account on a hold, I have to call at least 3 times a week just so I can view my activities, check my balance, or make payments. Waste of time. Get a Capital One secured card 0% annual fee, $200 credit limit, interest fees are nothing, just a $45 security deposit that you can get back if anything, just make sure all payments you do with capital one is certain. If you have two return payments they will automatically close your account. DO NOT GET THIS CARD!!! I REPEAT DO NOT GET THIS CARD!!

I didn't want to get this card to start my husband's credit, and I regret getting it now. I make the payments on his account. It is RIDICULOUS to have to pay extra to process a payment sooner. Every credit card I have had posts the amount immediately without having to pay extra and funds are available the next day. But not with Credit One. They charge $9.95. And if you do a standard payment, funds are not available for 5 or 6 business days.
A minimum payment was due on my husband's account. I tried to process a standard payment online. It said my request could not be processed at this time so to call this number. I called the number on Friday because the minimum payment is due Wednesday and the rep said they were going to process an express payment. I refused to pay it because the website was giving problems. The rep AGREED to waive the payment fee so it can post the same day since it was before 5pm and CONFIRMED that it was paid.
On the phone with them right now on Sunday, spoke with 2 reps who refused to verify if the payment posted without my husband's authorization. Then how can I process a payment without his authorization? Spoke to the manager. He reprocessed the payment and guaranteed it would go through this time once I spoke with my bank. It was showing up as declined, which is FALSE because my bank tells me about EVERY transaction. I called my bank and they have no record of the transaction.

After I got the card, I went to make a payment. I selected the Express Payment option and typed YES in their confirmation screen to pay it. I *thought* it went through, but it didn't. A few weeks later, I got put on the callbot again asking me to pay my balance -- to which I replied I had already paid the balance in full weeks earlier. Nope. And guess what? It went past 30 days, so they reported a late payment on my credit report. I have other cards and I have never missed a payment, so this report dropped my score nearly 90 points. I was shocked. I disputed it, asked for a goodwill adjustment since I paid the balance in full, only to be given generic, robotic responses that didn't even address the issue I had on their website.
Two things (one I should have done up front): 1. Always confirm your payment is made and get a confirmation number. I didn't do this because I had to run to a meeting right after I paid it and didn't realize there was an issue. (However, they should be able to see some record of my attempted payment in their web logs... but nobody even offered to do that to my written letter.) 2. Do not get this card. You are going to have to pay an annual fee right off the bat. Do yourself a favor and get a real secured card first and go from there.
If I had it to do over, I would not have ever signed up for this card. I haven't used the card since and have no intentions of doing so. I have been diligent about rebuilding my credit and the fact this card company -- in the business of helping people like me rebuild credit -- would be that disconnected and unwilling to work with me is the reason I have gone out of my way to find a legit review site and tell my story.

This place is a joke. I attempted to make an international purchase, it was declined. I contacted customer service, which are extremely hard to understand. I advised them my card was declined, they removed the international block. I used my card immediately following the phone call and it worked. I then received a message that my card had been placed on hold due to "suspicious activity". I contacted them again and the suspicious activity was the very charge I made and the one they allowed from having the international block lifted. They advised I needed to mail a copy of my driver's license, not scan and email, but physically in the mail to "confirm" the account. On top of all of that they want a annual 75.00 "service fee" for a card with a 300.00 credit limit...

This company does not allow the option of scheduling a payment ahead of time as every other reputable company does. Obviously, this is for the purpose of hoping payers will miss the due date and end up with a late charge. I adjusted to that, though, and made the payments the date they were due for quite a while now.
Today I try to make such a payment, and they won't allow me to make another payment this month? And why is that? Because I'm trying to drive my balance down and made more than three payments in the period of 30 days! I definitely should be penalized for that. Don't you think? So now the actual payments that due will be the first late payment I've ever made? I call them up, they will not bend. "You've made more than three payments in a 30 day period!", they say. They send me to a supervisor who never answers. These people are crooks. Con artists. Seriously. They should not be allowed to do business in the US. I know it will hurt my credit, but I may well close these accounts and then pay them off. Credit One's business tactics are disgusting.

I reported the issue with Credit One and they proceeded to tell me to reset my username and password because my account is somehow "locked". Their customer service department is so out of touch with their creditors it is unreal. IN FACT expect to have your funds held for an additional week after having the funds removed from your checking account. YOU ARE GIVING THEM A FREE LOAN AND YOU ARE PAYING FOR IT! No amount of complaining or advocating for yourself results in a solution. After nearly an hour of calls, the concern was heard but the outcome was hardly a resolution. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Let me start by saying that I had to call and ask for a statement 3 months in a row. Today I was paying my bill and noticed a $25.00 late charge. I checked my online banking and the payment was received on time. So I called and spoke to foreigner and was told I shorted my payment by $2.00. I told them that was the stupidest thing, all for $2.00. I told them to close the account. Now, I admit that I shorted the payment $2.00, but I have some vision problems due to a stroke. All they had to do was increase my payment the next month by the $2.00, and I would have been happy. I would also like to know what part of the world their customer service in located. Because the 2 people I spoke to today were very heavily accented. They DID offer to waive the fee and some of the monthly charges, which I accepted. But the whole thing really ticks me off.

I received card in mail. If I applied... show me an application. No mention of "Annual Fee"... credit limit $1000.00. I foolishly used it. 2 weeks after receiving card I was assessed a "Late Fee"! That's when I knew "Credit One" was TROUBLE! I cut up the card... paid for my purchases and the interest. I told them verbally while supposedly being "recorded" and sent them an email stating I was no longer a customer of theirs and that I had "cut up" my card. Since then "my balance" has gone up to nearly $400.00 because of "Late Fees". They've ruined what was a very good credit rating. They called daily... many times each day. It was of no use to try to "block" them. They have an endless supply of American phone numbers from all over the country.
I finally answered and was continuously transferred until I supposedly had the "main supervisor". I told him exactly what I've mentioned here already. During our conversation he told me he and the other callers were in "India". Their "accent" was a dead giveaway. He told me their main office was in Las Vegas. When I asked for that number he repeatedly told me he couldn't give me that number and wouldn't tell me why. They might have a P.O. BOX there... but that's it... I'm sure of that! I also asked how it is they have so many American phone numbers. He said they purchased them from "American Phone Company"! I told him I didn't see how that could be legal. I told him if I didn't get a letter from them saying I no longer owe them any money and if they didn't fix my "credit rating" I was going to go to everyone I could possibly go to to complain about their corruption and obvious scrupulous connection with the "Phone Company".
He finally said he would have to go over it with "his supervisor"! He said getting my credit rating back where it had been would take 6 to 9 months. They can ruin it overnight apparently but it takes very long to fix it! I of course don't believe anything will be done. They'll just keep adding late fees. Meanwhile everyone here says complain complain complain!!! But no one here can has done a damn thing to help! A couple of my credit cards I already had lowered my limits and raised my rates! So... they are no more! My own credit union who I've been with over 25 years... "Affinity Plus Credit Union"... told me... "Oh well... better pay them or they'll keep adding to what you owe". Thanks! I guess they all stick together... huh?!

I fell victim to the lies and crappy promises made by Credit One Bank. I was a customer for 1 1/2 months. They gave me an initial credit limit of $1,200.00. My credit rating was over 670 at the time. I went to visit my mother who was dying and I sent them a fax about my urgent trip, also a letter and a phone call as well. I was assured that there would be NO problems while I was away if I had to use my card. While I was away dealing with the death of my mother, a supposed fraud dept rep called me. I assured her that I was in possession of the card, and she assured me that they were concerned about a specific and suspicious transaction. I told her that I indeed had made the purchase and she told me "thank you for verifying the transaction." I asked her if there were any other problems with my card and was assured, "No." I went to come back home and found that they had reported my card as stolen. I was arrested and put in jail, out of state.
When I returned home, the problems continued. Not once did I ever receive a single billing statement in the mail. They would only send me e-statements, which I told them I did not want. They would not remove me from e-statements. Now, as of yesterday, even though my entire balance was paid off IN FULL; months ago, I was served with a court summons. They had filed suit against me, alleging my account was seriously past due. It was paid in full, and when I informed the lawyers of this fact, the lawyers hung up on me. I spoke with my personal lawyer and was told that I had to appear in court and submit proof to the courts that the entire balance was paid in full. I sent them at the bank, a certified cashier's check for the final balance, and the bank cashed the check. I tried to setup an account online. It actually turns out I was able to, but the website had said it didn't work a time or two. I asked for them to email my password, but that didn't happen. I had wanted to pay my bill from my bank online. I did this about a week before my payment was due. I then thought my payment was due on the 26th, but it turns out it was due on the 22nd. I had planned on calling in and paying it by phone. Of course, you are charged a $9.95 fee for this. On the 23rd, I got a phone call that my account was delinquent and asked if I wanted to bring it current. One day. I was charged $25.00 because there is no grace period. Again, I truly tried to set it up to pay online and spent a lot of time trying to do that.
I made a payment to my bill by debit card, and they said I would be charged $9.95 for doing that. She waived the fee because I complained about the time and trouble to set up my account on the internet and pay that way. She said she could not waive the $25.00 fee but would be happy to refer me to a manager. I was frustrated and had already spent too much time on this card, and I was at work and didn't want to fool with it. I told her to please refer it to her manager about the waiver. This was yesterday, but of course the $25.00 one day late fee has not been waived.
This is the first month of my card. I absent-mindedly applied for the card, and there is nothing special about the way it looks, other than in my opinion this company tries to make you think they are CapitalOne with the swoosh. I have a CapitalOne card and am looking at it. In looking at my bill, I was charged $6.95 for a "Premium Design Fee." I don't recall requesting a "Premium Design," and this is just not something I would normally do. Perhaps I just checked a box absentmindedly and sent it in.
So... the payment from my debit card came out right away. Right away. This has not yet been posted to my account. I think maybe it takes five days? In the meantime, my account has gone over my $500.00 limit, and I fully expect to be charged on over-the-limit fee. That hasn't happened, but in reading reviews about this company, their deceit about trying to look like CapitalOne, the one-day $25.00 charge, wanting to charge $9.95 for making a payment, and the trouble setting up Internet access that I honestly believe is designed to be deceptive, I fully expect to charged for going 81 cents over my credit limit, even though it was caused by the $25.00 charge and the fact that they haven't posted my payment yet. If you like feeling afraid you will be charged excessively and feel that you are dealing with a company in a third-world country, this is the company for you.

Standard is free and posts in five days. Express posts in a few hours but will cost you an additional 9.95. I chose standard as my due date was still 3 weeks away and made more than the minimum payment.
Two weeks later I tried to make a second payment. I had done that before with no issue but this time it would not allow it. So I called and was told that I had been assessed a late payment fee since my payment was due yesterday and now conveniently there was no sign of it. I was also assessed an overlimit fee, which is what actually put me over the limit. First of all is the same as the other's reviews, basically same problem so this is my nightmare. I got a credit line with this "bank" and been used for the last 5 months just 30% of my line of credit which always paid the full amount, a month and a half ago I replaced my Chase debit card because it was cracked in half, so when my Credit One Bank bill was about to be due I tried to pay online. Their system constantly was frozen and don't accept all the numbers I was putting in to. After the third attempt finally! It went through. I paid my full balance so after a month and a half I didn't use it until last week. I tried to use in Best Buy and declined, I called immediately Credit One Bank to find out why it was declined. I just wanted to know an explanation, customer service horrible. A person that don't know how to explain why! And barely speak English nor Spanish.
Told me in broken English that the reason why it was declined is because I tried to pay with bad check which told him that I never tried to pay with a check before. At last I asked him what was my due balance he told me it was 65 cents and I just leave it like that because I don't want to deal with him anymore, yesterday I was called them back again to find out what's the status of my account. First person rude. Can't communicate and just hang out to me then I called back again.
Another person that told me his name was Gustavo. Very bad broken Spanish basically same story, the only difference is that he told me the reason is because I made 3 attempts to pay with the same debit card and I explained to him that it was their system not me, and asked him what was my balance he said $23.96. Just in a week from 65 cents to $23.96 without use it, anyway I paid him the full amount just because I don't want any issue with my credit score. Hopefully I can get that account closed. This will be my first review for Credit One Bank. I will make another review once I have used the card more. First: I applied for a Credit One Bank credit card and was approved on 06/06/2017 for the Credit One Bank Platinum Visa. Right from the start it informed me if I chose a certain type of card design I would be charged a fee of $6.95. I was okay with that. So I chose my design and waited for my card to be sent. My card was shipped on 06/16/2017. Website stated it should be there by 06/26/2017. I received it by 06/19/2017. I think where the problem starts with certain people is they do not read. I said certain not all!
When I received my card (that goes for all new customers to credit cards) it came with a grey paper that gives you the breakdown of the terms for your card. I HIGHLY SUGGEST EVERYONE READ THAT WORD FOR WORD BEFORE YOU ACTIVE THE CARD. The very first page informed me of my APR rate, the minimum interest charge, set-up maintenance fees, annual membership fee, late fee additional user fee, etc..
One of the many complaints I have read was for the annual membership fee. That grey paper tells you when you active your card you will be charged the $75 (numbers can be different depending on your person agreement) annual fee right off the back. After the first year your annual fee will be $99 billed monthly for $8.25. You have a choice to reject this monthly charge after you receive your first billing statement only. If you have paid that $8.25 even one time you can no longer cancel. So if you were approved for a credit limit of $300, your annual fee of $75 will be deducted from that making your balance $225 for spending. In my case I got a card design for 6.95 (rounded up to 7) plus $75 for my available limit of $218.
Second - Logging into Credit One Bank Website: When I received my card, I immediately signed up for an online log in. However, right after I created it I couldn't log in (not one time). So I called customer service (although they don't speak good English, I am use to this because I work in insurance so I could understand enough). I informed the representative I could not log in. He walked me through the Forgot username/password sets. I had to create a new login. Not sure why when I had just made the one I had. But it worked.
Third - payment posting: Payment posting was another huge problem others commented on. Just browsing around the Credit One online portal I saw the standard payment (free of charge), it stated if I made a payment today 06/20/2017 my payment would post to my account by 06/27/2017. Although, that is extremely long at least it did inform me. The express payment ($9.95 charge), stated if I make the payment today 06/20/2017 my payment will post to my account by 06/21/2017. I have not tested this out yet to see if it actually will. That's why this says first review. I will make another review in a few months after I've received my first bill or two. This is just for the people THINKING about getting the card.

This was the first card I received after my credit went to crap from when I lost my good paying job and had to take work paying half the income I used to make. Anyway, this is a subprime card and I understood that the interest rate was high. They also charge an annual fee that you can either pay each year in full or they will break it up and charge you each month for 12 months. I almost always pay the full amount I use each month. Sometimes I don't. I look at my statement and make sure the interest rate calculation is according to my rate for any balance I leave on the card till the next month. They've given me two increases but you have to for it. I think it $24. It's been worth it for me and it help me establish my credit enough even though I have several bad accounts on my credit report as I'm still digging myself out of the debt from when I lost my job.
I now have a few more cards but mainly to just help my credit. Whatever I charge, I try to pay right away. If I maintain any balances, I pay four or five times the minimum amount due so the interest really hasn't been that bad, like an amount I would pay for a drink or two. Just keep in mind, this is a subprime card, know what your interest rate is so you're not pissed off later, and whatever your due date is, put it in your head that it's due a week or more before, this way if you have some anomaly in accessing your account or whatever, you're still good. Pay it off each month or as much of it as you can but not the minimum.

So on June 15th I got a letter in the mail that was dated June 8 declining me because I have a fraud alert and they couldn't reach me via phone. Are you kidding me. When did a letter become a call. So I called them and their customer service are all idiots, all of them said including a supervisor "we're sorry but you can apply again after 30 days." Why would I do that. You all are the idiots not me!!

My whole credit history is so bad, that I have had to file bankruptcy! As I have moved on, to rebuild my credit history and score. I have a credit card through Credit One Bank. First they started me out with only $250.00 credit line. I made my payments on time, and without asking for a credit line increase, I now have a $500.00 credit line. If this is as high as my credit line will go! I'm very happy about it. Now I have a Capital One Quicksilver, with a credit line of $500.00 also! And just a month ago!
I got the most best credit card, you can ever get! I have an American Express! And they started me out with a $1,000.00 credit line. Now as I have read about the American Express Card, which I have, after 30 days or 60 days, without missing payments. They, American Express, will increase your credit line up to 200%. I also have three of the most high interest rate cards which I use! I have Indigo, Total Visa and Milestone! And they only offer a $300.00 credit line only with a HIGH ANNUAL FEE! However I have each one of these paying for my internet shows, (#1) I have one paying for my Netflix! (#2) and the other paying for my Hulu. (#3) and my other one pays for my CBS.com.
All of which are low cost! Online shows. Then after I saw my billings for these online shows, I shared them, and kept them open! And yes! Each year I have to pay my high annual fees! On those three! But I only pay! Low! Monthly payments for my Netflix, Hulu, and CBS.com. And I pay these cards before the due dates. Which shows up on my credit report, of never being late!
Also I went and called all three credit bureaus and with a small fee of $5.00 to each one of the credit bureaus, I place a CREDIT LOCK! On my credit reports! So that no further credit request and be issued on my credit reports! But once you do this, you MUST keep your PIN NUMBERS! Because once you place a CREDIT LOCK on your credit report, you must have your pin number to UNLOCK your credit report! Please NOTE! If you have credit cards which you use, this CREDIT LOCK does not affect your credit card companies by reporting your credit history on your credit report! This CREDIT LOCK stops identity thieves from applying for credit in your name.

Plus when you make a payment online it takes 5 days to post they are do not give you credit on the day you make payment causing it to be late. Unhappy customer.

Only then did they notify me that they had shut my account down because my card was used near Los Angeles, CA on the 5th of this month. It was the 14th when I called. So 9 days later and they hadn't called, emailed, or done anything to notify me of this. WTF? I will be closing my account down after they send the new card. How do you not call?

I have used Credit One for almost five years and despite minor issues I have never had a problem until now. Their website's log in expires every 30 days (a serious flaw) and you have to re-set your online log-in/password every time (using your credit card numbers). I misplaced my credit card right before a European trip and I called to let them know that I couldn't find my card to pay my credit card. I asked them to grant me an extension and re-send the card. Total nightmare. I kept receiving harassing phone calls for payment. When I called again to tell them that I thought an extension had been granted and that I was waiting for the card, they had no record of it in their system. This happened three times. As a result my payment was delayed by over 30 days.
This was the first time in my 5 year history with them that I was that delinquent. They reported me to my credit agency!! Despite calling them every week and checking on the status of my card and letting them know that I would send payment as soon as I received it. I even paid the balance in full once I got the card. I am now currently on the phone with them demanding to know why my loyalty of five years meant nothing to them. I am closing this card. I can't deal with the crap they pull anymore. I'd rather take a closure on my credit history then give them my business.

I will start this by saying I have had my Credit One Platinum card for about five years now. I have lived at the same address for three. I logged into a third party credit monitoring service I use and found out that Credit One closed my credit line. They did this without emailing me, without mailing me any notice, or calling. When I called in the rep told me to verify my address for identity purposes so I gave them my address. Three minutes later, when I was able to ask about why my account was closed without my knowledge they said it was because of an address discrepancy and that they tried mailing me notification... They had my ** address on file to verify my information... Both in the online account center, and at their office. There was definitely not an address discrepancy, and they email me my payment confirmation every time I make a payment. Poor company structure and organization is what caused this issue.
I have never missed a payment, and whatever they are doing over there at Credit One just dropped my credit score thirty points because that was my oldest revolving account. It is also near impossible to get a rep on the phone. Companies like Credit One do this on purpose because they do not care about customer service, and they know they have a poor product. Their payments take forever to process so you cannot rely on this card for daily use, and they hardly offer any type of rewards points. Worst card I have ever had.

They promise to report to all three bureaus, but they do not do this on time or accurately which made my TransUnion score lower than the others. When I called them about it, I spoke with a woman with a heavy accent who was difficult to understand, and told me I would have to write them a letter. Further, they make paying the bill difficult, and hold your payment for a week before adding it into your balance. If you want to pay immediately they charge you ten bucks. I will leave my balance at zero because canceling your credit card also lowers your score.

I had a return check I will admit was my doing. Paid my bill with the same checking account again, my money was in the bank. They return that payment. Also was wondering why my check had not cleared, payment still in bank. They closed my online account. I have called them numerous times to open it back up. Was told that they could do it in 2 to 3 business days so I could update my checking account to make sure it's right. I had to call them again today because it was not open, was told they had to verify my checking account.
They could charge my account a $1 to verify it, if they wanted to. I asked for a Supervisor which she did not turn me over to, she kept talking. I will admit I was a little frustrated on the phone with her. I have never had trouble paying any of my bills, I got the card because I was trying to build my credit back up after my divorce. I feel being late on this bill is going to jack my credit up some more. I told her just to send me a bill, I am paying it off and canceling the card. I wash my hands of it, and I regret ever opening an account with this company.

Seeing a lot of negative reviews for Credit One Bank's credit card and I want to say that it isn't that bad at all. I have had one for 9 months without a problem at all. I have even had my credit limit raised by them from 500 to 800. Yes, it is for rebuilding credit and geared towards low credit score people but so what? It's not their fault they have to have high rates because people's credit scores are bad and they are taking a risk. This card along with a few more cards have helped my score from the 529 it was 10 months ago to a 648 it is right now. All you have to do is pay on time the minimum and that's it. At their website, I have registered and logged on all the time without a problem. Even their phone app works like a charm. Some reason it won't work on my computer at my job but I do use a ton of open applications that slow my internet down but no problems on my laptop at home or the desktop.
Just pay at least the minimum of what 35 bucks little before the due date and you are fine. It's that easy. If you are rebuilding your credit then you have to start somewhere. I now have a Citi card with zero percent for the first year, along with two Capital One buy power cards with cash back and an American Express card all because I rebuilt my credit starting with Credit One Bank. Never max the card out, always keep at least half available. That easy.

I'm checking my statement, and I also see a separate express payment fee charge to my credit one account for ANOTHER $9.95 a couple of lines under where it shows my payment amount WITH the extra fee they originally took! If anyone out there has used this "service", check your statements against your payment source statements. I bet you see the same thing. The fee they claim is $9.95 actually costs $19.90, and it's going to cost them more. I'm closing the account today.

Got my card and charged $141 to it then was immediately blocked because of "suspicious activity". Fair enough. Security is a good thing. I called customer service and was told they'd lift the block. They didn't. I called back two more times and was told each time the block was lifted. On the fourth call I was informed the block could only be lifted after I submitted ID to them for verification. Okay, fine. I wish the first CS rep had told me, but okay. So, I send my ID and call back about a week later and was told they hadn't received it yet and to call back in a few days. I call back three days later. The CS rep informs me they did receive my ID, however, they can't accept it because it's expired. (I don't drive anymore). I requested to close my account, but couldn't because of the block. I asked what I could do to get the block lifted and the CS rep finally agreed to accept my social security card for verification.
I mailed a copy of the card along with a letter requesting to close my account and settle my outstanding balance of $141. Called them a week later to confirm receipt of the letter and ID. They didn't get it, so call back in a few days. I call back in a few days, but still no letter and ID. The CS rep relented and agreed to close my account without verification. However, they would have to call me back within 72 hours to finalize that. Of course I never heard back from anyone.
So, I called again and spoke to a CS rep who gave me the runaround about sending in the same documents and blah, blah, blah. I told her what the last rep had agreed to, but they had no record that they would close my account. Shocker. I requested her to close my account, but she refused and gave me the same spiel. I hung up, shredded my card and will not pay the bill for $141. I'll take the hit to my credit score. The people who work there are uneducated drones with no ability to problem solve or think critically.

I've only been on the first page of the reviews about Credit One bank, but I sure wish that I read before signing up because if I had I would not have. My experience is not as bad as most, as I canceled my card after making my first payment. I received my card and was able to use it just fine, but when it came time to make a payment things went south quickly.
This bank offers two options to make the payment online, an express option for $9.95 and a regular payment option. The express payment option was supposed to make all funds available the next business day whereas the regular option would result in funds being available in 5 business days. The express option could be paid using a checking account or credit/debit card. The regular option could only be paid via checking account. Something about the express payment option was strange and screamed of a money grab by the bank, especially since my Capitol One card could be paid using my bank account and the funds were available the next business day, for free. I planned to use the card in 3 business days, so I chose the express payment option anyway. Their online payment process was clunky and frustrating but after about 20 minutes I was able to get the payment to go through.
I go to check my balance on the second business day and only the first $100 of my balance was available even though I paid my entire balance off. I called their support line to see why this was and was told that since I made the payment using my bank account they could only make the first $100 available and they needed to verify funds for the rest of my payment before making the rest of my credit line available. This was not explained on their website, and I told the support staff that but there was apparently nothing they could do.
This whole payment experience was problematic and frustrating, and I wanted nothing to do with this bank any longer so I asked to have my express payment fee refunded and my account closed. I was transferred to an account specialist to accomplish this. I had to go through the entire conversation again with the account specialist, and a few minutes after he acknowledged that I wished to have my account closed he was still trying to explain their policies that I had already understood and kept talking over me after I kept asking for the express payment refund and to have my account closed. I finally raised my voice just a bit since it was clearly apparent that he was not listening and asked him to listen. Again he cut me off and hurriedly told my that my account was now closed and I will receive a credit for the express payment fee. Immediately after he hung up on me.
I called back to talk to a manager because I wanted to confirm that my account was closed and since the account was closed ask how they were going to credit the express payment fee back to me, and of course to file a complaint. I was forwarded to a supervisor who confirmed that my account was closed and that they will send the credit for the express payment via check. When I asked if it is acceptable for their agents to speak over their customers or to hang up on them, of course the response was no. However, the reviews here indicate otherwise. Please do yourself a favor and avoid the frustration. Avoid Credit One Bank.

However, one day as I looked into my statements, they have been charging me Interest on my spending when I was paying my credit card off almost twice a month. I called and found out that the interest APR, is calculated for Daily purchase. So basically, if you buy something now with the card YOU'LL BE PAYING INTEREST ON IT for the DAYS that goes by until the day you pay it off. WHAT KIND OF FRAUD IS THIS???
I called and asked to speak to a supervisor, and all of their customer service representatives are in INDIA by the way. I had my card for two years, as of this morning. This morning, I received a call, from Credit One, informing me that my card had an overdue balance. I told them that it was impossible because I had recently paid my card completely off in April. I then asked when my last purchase had been made and the representative told me that my last purchase had been made in February. He then informed me that the card came with "annual monthly payments" of $8.50 a month, as I had agreed to in the contract. I had never agreed to this. I then informed the representative that I would like to cancel the card. The representative then informed me that I would be charged an additional fee of $8.25 to cover "credit bureau fees". After agreeing to these conditions, I was transferred to customer service, and I'm pretty sure that I talked to THE SAME EXACT PERSON, but with a different pseudonym this time.
The representative then processed my payment and hopefully this nightmare is now over. The representative was constantly talking, explaining every step in extreme detail, which was highly annoying because he was well aware that I was not in a good mood. He was Indian, and I had already mentioned that I wanted to end my services with card. When I mentioned canceling the card a second time, he acted very shocked. In the end, I paid $45 when I shouldn't have paid a damn dime. The overall experience with the company was actually a four-star experience for a year and a half. I was locked out of my online account and I was unable to contact them through phone, even though I had made a payment. My wife and I then received random suspicious phone numbers everyday, equaling roughly 20 per day on both phones combined.
Finally I answered the phone after a few weeks and it was a call from collections. They let me talk to Credit One and Credit One claimed that I had made a payment in November, although it supposedly hadn't been processed through and the money was supposedly returned. After talking to my bank and reviewing my records, I had never been refunded. I then talked to Credit One again and they STILL refused to pay me back. After another month of not paying due to being unhappy, I finally paid them back due to them causing my credit to absolutely nosedive. My credit had gone down well over 100 points and I have still not recovered from it. This is an absolutely atrocious company and they are a complex scam. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

After that he had to wait a week or so to get the what we assumed was the credit limit approval. He only got $1000.00 but that's not a big deal. I have been making two or one substantial payments monthly. I set up to have a payment made a month ago and they took it and then threw it back in my bank account. I assume because I was paying way over my minimum pay where they really cannot charge interest much since I'm catching up to zero balance.
They are not even up to date on their website, Credit One does not allow you to do auto pay and it's hard to maneuver easily to where you want to go on the site. They want you to be late and get a penalty. Screw them, don't use them. Also, I been with them for four years and my credit amount really haven't raised to bottom. COB never offered a credit limit increase and still kept my credit report at 670. I finally cancelled that VISA card and they cannot understand why. Stay away from COB...

Credit One Bank is a predatory bank that accepts clients with poor credit or clients who are in the process of rebuilding. Their initial offer is a $300 credit limit with an immediate $100 fee, meaning your credit card only has a $200 limit until it is paid in full. I understand low credit limits, but $200? However, that isn't what bothers me about Credit One. They are factually dishonest and unethical. Read a few reviews concerning their online bill pay option. A large percentage of people cannot use this feature.
In fact, if you try to create an account on their website, you will be asked to re-enter your information again, and again, and again... It never works. Credit One is well aware of this issue, and it is planned dysfunction on their part. They know that if a client is unable to pay his or her bill online, then he or she will be forced to pay through the mail, as their phone systems are similarly problematic. Meanwhile, a client will be overwhelmed with late fees and other charges all because of their non-working website.
With that said, that isn't even the worst of it. Even a week or two before your minimum payment is due, you will receive nonstop, harassing phone calls every day from random numbers. They will "Never" leave a voice message, and if you block a number, they have a near-infinite collection of other numbers they can use to reach you. They will call at 5:00 AM, 11:30 PM, it doesn't matter. If you answer, you will be berated and spoken down to like a little kid being sent for a time out. It is humiliating.
I refuse to pay my $200 balance. Why? 1) It is "Impossible" to do so online. Clients cannot make an account, no matter what they try. It is purposefully dysfunctional. 2) The harassing phone calls never stop, and they are completely inappropriate. I'm not a criminal and these guys aren't parole officers. 3) They take advantage of the poor and only make things worse for them. If they were even slightly more honest about what they do, I would have no problem paying off my card. They simply won't admit that they force people to pay through the mail or over the phone, which is unsafe and risky, as Credit One will often "Lose" payments. Bottom line, even in a desperate situation, I would strongly reconsider their offer. Do you really want to sell your soul for $200? It's not worth it.

I should have reviewed this bank before opening an account with them. They are thieves. I tried closing my account with them. I had my account paid off for two months. I log in and there is a fee. There was no balance to base a fee off of. I call them to close the account. I could barely understand the 3 people I spoke with. I told them over and over again to just close my account since you cannot do it online.
The last guy just kept offering to refund all my fees, etc to my account. I kept saying over and over again still to close my account. I don't want my fee funded back to my account, I want it closed. He said he could not close it as there was a $1.16 balance. A fee charge. I immediately paid that fee and told him as I was doing so to close my account. They just could not get it through their stupid little heads. CLOSE the account. Geez. I just logged in and it is still showing as open with a -$.10 balance. WHAT??? Does anyone have any idea on how to close this account? Do yourselves a favor -- DO NOT USE THIS BANK.

The girl charged me 104 when she only had to charge me $50. What the heck! That's not all you can't even understand them. Their accent is sooo thick. I have an accent myself but come on! I started looking at my bill closer wondering why it is so high and realized those sneaky you know what has been breaking down the annual fee and a couple little fees monthly and I realized I am getting ripped off to the fullest. I called and went through two people and a manager. They asked if I don't close my account they will waive the annual fee for six months, I said not good enough! You ** have ripped me off for seven years. So they put me on hold again, came back with they will waive six months prior and the next six months, long as I don't cancel my card. I just got the card last month April 2017 and I'm already having a problem with them. Let me first start off saying that I did get the card okay and paid the 75 dollar annual fee. I had a credit line of $300. I went to pay my bill online in the month of May which was $25 dollars, which I had no problem paying. Then it takes 5 days to post. Who waits 5 days to post payment when it is ACH. That sound fishy. So, I waited and it hit on the 5th day so, I was not going to use it all.
The next day my son get sick so I had to use some of it to get him some meds and when I get the register it declines. I get on the app and what the heck is the problem and my card says it is over the credit limit and in the negative 6 dollars. How is this when I just paid my bill a week ago. Another thing that sound fishy. So I call them up and they said that my payment has came back returned so I go to my bank and see what the heck is the problem and they said it went through and everything is fine on their end. So I ended up going to my bank and disputing the transaction since they claim it came back returned. Then I call them again and tell what is going on and they refund me my 25 dollars so I said okay.
I go out the next day to use it and my card declines twice and third time it approves it. The first 2 times it declined not sure why when, I had available credit on there. I call and they said that their systems was down. And to wait an hour. I go to the store an hour later and purchase my things. It was approved the third time. So I call them to see what the heck happened to my money and they said I used it all. I said "no I didn't" when my card declined twice. They claim that it was approved twice and declined only once. So this is the second time they stole my money. I was sitting here screaming and hollering at them because they stole money from me. So they told me it was Family Dollar's fault and not theirs. How is it Family Dollar's fault when their machine said declined.
So I get off the phone with them and go and check the app again. This time they took the last little bit that I had on the card. I'm not going to call because they will claim that they didn't do anything with my money. But I did call them and tell them to close my account and card. And not to send me a bill or anything because "you guys will not see any more money from me". And I will contact my lawyer. Everybody that they connect you with can't speak English. They are nothing but money hungry and they will get down on you.

I received a pre-approval letter from this company, thinking it was an affiliate with Capital One (similar logo, similar name, similar card design options etc...) so I went forward with the application. It wasn't until after I activated that I realized they market themselves closely to Capital One to lure people in. But since I let them hit my credit and got approved, I went ahead and activated.
My first red flag came a few days after activation. I had just made a purchase for gas, then attempted to make another purchase at a mall 15 minutes from where I live. The gas transaction went through with no problem, the mall transaction declined. I immediately call their CSR to see what was going on? Was there a stipulation I missed when I signed up? Why did the card decline?? These nuts proceed to tell me that because the purchase was from outside of my billing area, the card was placed on restriction? Huh?? I live in a HUGE metro area with hundreds of zip codes that change by the block. I explained to her that although I was still within the CITY LIMITS and had JUST made a gas purchase around the corner, I did not understand how I was being declined for being outside of my area. She responded that she fully understood and would take the restriction off, wait 15 minutes then try again.
Okay, so I browse around the department store 20 minutes, go back to the counter to try again, DECLINED!! What in the world?? So I try to call back, get a different rep who tells me that the restriction was never taken off... okay now I'm standing at the counter looking crazy so I go ahead and put the purchase on my bank card. After leaving the mall, I kept thinking about what just happened and how none of it made sense so I called the CSR number back and was told that their office hours were closed. Mon-Friday and Saturdays pacific time... another red flag.
So with using this card, I need to call their CSR anytime I am outside of my subdivision needing to make a purchase, and it has to be before 8 pm EST (or 5 PM PST) or I'm ** out of luck. God forbid I'm on the other side of town needing gas at 9 pm and the only source of available funds I have is my handy dandy Credit One card. I will be stranded!
I've had this for less than a month and am contemplating closing it out and just sticking with my bank card. But at my plight to rebuild credit, it seems that this will be my handy Netflix/Hulu subscription card that I will pay down monthly. This card will never leave the house with me, it's pointless to risk getting declined just because my billing area is 2 blocks away. SMH.

This company is nothing but a pain in the butt to get a credit card with! I have had a card in the past with them so I decided to open up a new account... worst mistake I ever made! I wait 10 days for my card to arrive, and when it comes there is a number to call to activate the card. Once I call to activate the card I am then told they will need a copy of my driver's license and a utility bill in order to verify my address and then my card could be activated. After going round and round trying with 3 different reps with the last rep yelling at me and not listening, I demanded to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor understood my frustration so he said, after I told him I was not putting sensitive documents into the U.S. Postal mail to go only God knows where. He gave me a fax number to fax him the documents and that my card would be activated.
I faxed the documents as he requested and then called back the next day to activate the card only to be told that there was a block on my account and I had to be transferred to an investigation unit. A woman comes on the phone pretending to be an investigator and asked me what my middle name was, how old I was, what my current address is, and what the name of my spouse is??? What the crap??? I told her I was divorced and had been for 16 years so what does my ex have to do with it???
After jumping through all the hoops I was told that my documents that I faxed to them had not been received and that it sometimes takes 24-48 hrs for them to get the documents and it could take another 3-5 days for them to analyze the documents before my card could be approved. At this point of the call I told her that this was supposed to be a credit card company not the FBI and that she could just close out my account that never opened and I would destroy the card they sent me. This card by the way only had a $400 limit but they way they are acting you would think they were giving me a $50,000 credit card limit. This is just plain retarded the way the are conducting so called 'business' especially considering I have been a past customer. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE DEALING WITH THIS company!! I hang up the phone and spoke to someone else that told me my account was under review for fraud. I was transferred to a fraud specialist that asked me additional verification questions. Then told me that another specialist would call me in 24 to 48 hrs this time.
On the 2nd day, another guy called and gave me a fax number ** to fax my documents. Couple days later I called again to see how far they had gone with the process since I had faxed the paperwork as needed. Keep in mind I am now spending money to Uber myself to Kinko’s to make copies and fax them which cost $2.25 a page for long distance. I called a couple more days later getting different stories and finally a lady told me my card was activated and ready for use. I walked to a local store to test it out, got stuff worth $22 and card declined in front of my new girlfriend’s embarrassment. I went outside the store and called them again and this time I was told my card was still under review after the other lady had told me it was activated. I was furious and asked them to cancel it. I paid the account 4 weeks later to a zero balance, with assurance that the money would be available at the beginning of the week. I called Monday when the card was rejected at the store and then they informed me they terminated my account, and that it would never be reactivated. So now I am left with no way to pay any bills. I said I can send a money order, the rep agreed and said since they get credit for payment I needed to put it to his attention. I agreed and borrowed the money.
A month later I received a statement with a higher balance due, when I called they said they never received any payment that the rep did not work there and there were no notes in the system where I was offered a settlement. I had no problem with any of my cards with the exception of Credit One. They sent me two letters dated 4/4/17 stating that they wanted a letter from my bank certifying that the payments I made were actually from my bank account and were valid payments. The letter stated that I had been locked out of my accounts and that I had until 5/4/17 to supply this info or they would close my accounts and reported to credit agencies as "closed by credit grantor."
When I first called them on 4/19/17 they told me that this was their policy because the payments I had made were much larger than any previous payment. SO WHAT! However, I did as requested and mailed the letters certified mail on 4/21/17 and they were signed for as received on 4/24/17. I continued to be locked out of my account and called back on 5/3/17 and spoke to a supervisor named Eppy who told me that they had not received the letters. I informed her that I had the receipts from the post office showing that they had indeed received them. She then said that it takes 7-10 business days for paperwork to get thru their mailroom to the appropriate office and reviewed. I said fine and that I would call back in a few days.
Upon calling back on 5/10/17 and speaking to yet another supervisor named Sarah, I was again informed that they showed no receipt of my letters. I then told them that I would not be sending them again and that it wasn't my fault if they lost the letters and that they had better do as they had promised and unlock my accounts. She said she would try and get back to me within 24-48 hours. I told her that she had better do more than "try" and she then said she would get back to me. However, upon checking my credit report today on 5/11/17 I find that they have closed both my accounts. Unbelievable! Do not do any business with this bank under any circumstances. Many people are bashing Credit One... BUT you need to deal with them with realistically. I've had horrible credit for 20 years, because of two divorces, but I make good money, and own a home that has considerable equity. I also have term, and whole life, insurance policies. This is a short term credit card for those establishing credit, or re-establishing credit. I always thought this was a company associated/parent company with Capital One. No! BUT my initial credit was $450, after I paid my "yearly card fee" of $45 after it was issued, and IN FULL - WHEN I ACTIVATED THE CARD, I got an increase of $150.
If you have bad credit, your options are limited. If you have dodgy, or questionable issues, such as past due child support, or cell phone bills, IRS, or other hassles, this is your card. It's a jumping stone to other cards, especially Discover. Just be aware. Secured cards are useless. It's fine for a year, but you have to move on quickly. Move on within a year. I applied to Discover and told them I had a $350 balance on my Credit One account, they lived it, gave me 18 months 0 APR, and a 2,000 credit limit. I refused, and had them lower it to $1,000. I have no use for high limits. I'm very debit card, and cash functional, but Discover, Amex, offer rewards to many of my day to day shopping. Only use Credit One as a stepping stone for a year, or two, tops. If you are not a fairly good credit risk, after a year, with on time payments, and at least half of your credit limit available, they will waive your yearly fee, but you will have to call them, and ask.

Maintained an account for several years because I am a dummy. High interest rates, high annual fee (charged monthly), and remarkably/intentionally, poor customer service. I closed the account today after making the decision that this card wasn't worth the trouble and certainly not worth a monthly $9 fee to keep it open. It took four different transfers to four different associates. The customer service people were unhelpful, refused to answer questions. And although I expressly asked for the account to be closed and requested confirmation, I am not sure that either will actually happen since the person I spoke to hung up on me while I was asking for email confirmation. They also tried to charge me around $8 to process a payment. The idea is to make the process as difficult as possible in hopes that you will give up.
These are obviously outsourced jobs (I talked to a woman with a strong enough accent named "Mitch"), and you can't blame the people for doing what they are told to do. But I strongly recommend you take your business elsewhere. If you do maintain an account with this crappy company, call them and negotiate interest rates, annual fees, other charges. They try to slip things by you (processing fees and what-not) that you really should not be paying for. Boooo Credit One.

Call the customer service hotline and I get someone who can barely speak English on the line (keep in mind I am myself a minority so we'll end that conversation there) and they tell me "due to payments not being met we close your account". I go on and ask how can that be. I put all my banking info in there and it told me I was good to go. Then the person tells me "well you need to go to your bank get a bank approval form and mail it to us." Keep in mind I work in a fast pace small business office and work from 630am-6pm Monday through Friday. I'm upset because now they want me to go take time out of my day that I don't have a lot of and do this for them with no warning.

Angry I said "so you sent out a warning via mail that you were closing my account yesterday which mail takes 3-5 days to get that. My account will be closing." After that the Service Rep didn't know how to respond and had to get their supervisor on the phone and I ask "Well can you just re-open my online account? I'll pay with my debit card or other credit card and we'll be all set." NOPE! I have to go to my bank to go get the Bank Approval form and mail to have my account reopened online to make any type of payment...

First of all company origin outside of the United States so therefore customer service is extremely unsupportive. Second. Hidden fee. Consumer would've not know about until after using the card because you do not have an online access immediately. As soon as you receive the card you want to get access to your account 2 to 3 weeks after signing up and that will not give you enough time to find out about them and good timing and that's done purposely from the company to set you up for failure and I will give you an example on that. There is a $75 annual fee will be deducted from your bank account immediately so if you cancel your the $75 annual fee +25% on the amount that you owe. And the list goes down. I will highly recommend not using the card until you have access to the online banking and to have a customer service another explain everything before using the card.

I wish I could give this no stars at all because I don't feel it deserves one, but I can't unfortunately. I currently have this credit card that I'm paying off. I wish I had never gotten into it or at least looked into it first, but at the time I desperately needed the money to help out my parents. The membership fee was like $80 or so. My credit limit is $400. Right now I still have $350 to pay off.
I haven't used the card for a long time and I kept going into the negative and it was like I wasn't even making a payment. I've only gotten $50 knocked off, which is crazy to me when my payments are $25 a month. I make them every month on time and I haven't used the card in so long. Not sure how that's happening and I feel like I'm being ripped off. I do know the interest is RIDICULOUS and it's like I'm barely making any payments. Last month's payment pretty much was pointless, considering that interest was $9 and then $10 for annual fee. And they keep asking me to increase my credit limit by $200 (even though $75 will be charged for whatever, membership I guess). I keep turning them down on it and they still keep pestering me with it. So annoying. The only way I'll ever get this card paid off is I pay it off in full, which I'll be doing soon and I'll never do anything with this company again. :)

I have Credit One and every time I try to pay them monthly they like to take your money because of their hidden fees and late fees. I paid last month my bill and I was supposed to have $125 in my card. Next thing I know I see I had only $84 so I called Credit One and argued with them that they took my money, so they gave me some of my money back. Then last week I called again and this time I had $90 in my account, now the lady told me she would put in a request to give me $14 back so I would have a total of $104, they never gave it back. So I called yesterday and asked where my $104 is and why it's not back in my account. The lady tells me that they never put in a request so I told the lady that they are a terrible company who can't seem to keep papers in order. Anyone who reads these reviews pls I urge you not to sign up with Credit One. They are the worst credit cards ever so do not sign up.

Held a account with Credit One for about 5 yrs. Always carried a high balance with them. My credit limit with them is $2,000. I decided that I will pay off all my credit cards then keep a balance around 10% of my credit limit. Well after I paid my account instead of reporting 0 balance these jerks decided to report that I had 30 day late payment a month before, not true. Never been late or missed a payment. Called them to complain, well they said they're all for people having good credit and if would prove to them this error they would remove it. LIES, I did just that and I disputed it through all 3 credit bureaus and of course these JERKS are just as bad.
TransUnion was the only one that corrected the late payment on my report and score went up to 740. Equifax and Experian refuses after 2 months of writing and calling everyone involved no change, in the meantime my score dropped over 50 points. Then right after TransUnion fixed the late payment they started reporting my account was closed by me, score dropped 62 points, now I'm battling this lie. WTF. I'm truly trying to keep my cool with these Jerks but it's hard very hard and refuse to give credit repair money for something I can do, so I reported it to the CFPB who then in return turned it over to the OCC. When I call and plead with Credit One to fix their mistakes, I'm told to put it in writing with proof. When I tell them I have several times, they then tell me they will fix it. It's now 5 months my credit report is still reporting the lies and no word from the OCC. This is truly frustrating.

After 10 minutes of being on hold he came back to tell me his computer was having problems and I needed to call back, no transfer option. Hang up and called back immediately, the next rep looked at my account and told me my account was with their investigations specialist. With that said I used my credit card, my limit was $300.00 and I only used $265.00 for purchases. Then when I checked my balance I found that I was over my limit by $100.00.
I called and spoke with a supervisor and explained my situation and she refused to waive any of the fees that I was charged $19.99 authorized user fee and $80.00 annual fee. I told her I no longer wanted to have an authorized user and I never received a card for my husband but she still refused, and when I told her I was told by the representative that first helped me activate the card that I would not be charged an annual fee she said I was a liar. Okay. So I thought I would wrote a review on making my 1st payment to Credit One bank. Since I read so many negative reviews about making payments I was very skeptical to apply for the card but I did and I got approved. So when my card came of course it had a $75.00 annual fee. My bill was due 5/15/2017. So I looked up what payment options I had available on credit one site and I was like this at 1st, "This is ridiculous.” So I decided to go to one of my local check cashing places (ACE Check Cashing). I asked them to run the card to see if I can make a cash payment through bill pay and to my surprise I could and the fee was on $3.95 and to my payment posted within 2 business days.
So going forward this will be my method of payment. I'm not waiting 5 days or paying that express pay fee. So my advice is if you are running close to your bill pay it at your local check cashing place. I also found out from Credit One if you pay it even a day before the due date and they get the payment 2 days later that still backdate the payment to the date of the recipient and you will not be charged any late fees. They said just keep your receipt until the payment post. But I was advised that when you do a money wire transfer as such it will always post within business days which is truly the quickest, easiest and fastest way to make your monthly payment. Hopes this helps everyone.

After I tried to do just that -- and several times -- I was refused and blocked from making a payment! I gave up for the moment, planning to call the company. I was later hospitalized with pneumonia and out for two weeks.
Then the harassing calls began, night and day, on the weekends, and even at my place of employment. Each time I have attempted to make a payment over the phone, I'm given a runaround, asked for much, much more than is owed, or put on hold and disconnected. I talked to two individuals today when my initial call was disconnected. Something very suspicious is going on, and I am concerned. There were no funds returned to my account and then to discover I then saw that they charged me a $25 late fee when my payment was made on time in full. The supervisor gets on the line to inform me that he is going to forward the issue to the billing dept. What a waste of time and energy to resolve something that is their mistake. Not only that, the supervisor tells me that the funds were not disbursed back to my checking account and he doesn't know what went wrong.

Apparently she did not understand that my due date was on the 20th, and my payment was posted to the account on the 5th of the month. She states that I am still assessed a finance charge during the five business days. I said, "That is Illegal. After being on the phone for yet another 35 minutes or so Ms. ** came back to the phone and acted as though she could not hear me and asked that I call her back, then she hung up on me. She was snickering in the background thinking she had done a good deed. I immediately called back and got a recording that the office was now closed. Shame on Credit One for hiring such idiots... Such nonprofessional rude people. After such brutal treatment from 2 very rude nonprofessionals I will most definitely not do business in the future with Credit One.

In March someone paid off my credit card, changed my address on the Credit One website and then used my card online at US Auto Parts. I immediately contacted Credit One to initiate an investigation that will take 90 days. My card was closed and a new card was sent out. I have not even received my new credit card yet, have no clue what the credit card number is and the account has been compromised again with another purchase at US Auto Parts. Beware of having your account hacked. Since the new card has not been used yet or even activated at that I am going to say an employee at Credit One is helping have the customers information stolen.

I received this card a little over a year ago and acquired a small balance on it and became very ILL with the customer service when I was constantly presented with a problem. Shortly after, I zero-out my balance and closed out/terminate the card only to reveal 3 months later I get a statement saying I owe a balance of the membership fee! I then call customer service, which sounds like they're in an underwater basement in India and they do not comprehend what you're telling them nor what they're saying to you! I gave up! I just hope a crap company like this doesn't damage my credit!!

Never ever open an account with Credit One. Use of the last 4 # of my SS card was allowed, giving someone (not me) access to having new cards sent to their address in Miami, with new email address, just quick as a wink for the "imposter" to get cards and charge charge charge, plus remember, when you go paperless, you really have NO proof of what is happening to your account! Now the fraud dept. access is continually circumvented for me, as in put on hold for 40 minutes, the last time I tried, so what to do? Credit One has already posted to my TransUnion Credit Bureau account, that I owe about 2 thousand dollars (the amount the "imposter" charged) and they have no solution to that issue? Will now go to the Federal Level, as nothing else works! Open an account with them at your peril. You will be regretting for a long time. Caution! Can cause hypertension!

I already made payments on my other cards with different companies. Called back and paid them off the same month but you can't? Then just before they hung up on me and had to call back and to see if I could post date the payment and they said no and have to call back, again hung up on me both times they said "God bless you" WTF? This is when the harassing phone calls started was 2 months ago and my bill was NOT even due yet. Then you call me today at exactly 9 am from a different phone number and you have the nerve to ask me for my checking account number... Are you guys that ** stupid??? Stop with the robo phone calls and debt collectors and lying to your customers and just maybe will you get some money. Until you stop with the harassing phone calls... You will not see a dime from me, because I am suing your ** for harassing phone calls. DO NOT USE THIS CARD, because the first time you use it is when the ROBO calls start and debt collections start. The bill was NOT EVEN DUE yet!!!

This is in reference to a credit card through Credit One Bank. I am about to lose my mind over this and do not know what to do short of contacting an attorney. Every month I am charged a $31.00 late fee but I am not late. I call and I am placed on eternal hold, hung up on and have to speak to people who DO NOT speak English. I am also charged $5.88 fee for Credit Protection, I did not sign up for this and also call every month to have it removed. They are also charging me a (monthly) annual fee of $8.25. I did not agree to this and once again I have to call every month to have this corrected. Is this legal? Is there something I can do to stop this madness. I do not use this credit card and yet every month my balance goes up and I am making large monthly payments. Is there anyone out there that investigates this kind of fraud? Thanks.

This company operates with the name of a bank in America, Credit One, BUT, it is not the same bank. Their practices are horribly deceptive, and they did numerous things to my account, including one time they put a $2.60 amount on my account AFTER I paid it off. When I called to close account and ask what the fee was for, I was told it was interest from my previous balance, that I paid off 2 weeks ago. The customer representative harassed me and gave me a terrible time about closing my account. After arguing with him for at least 15 minutes, he finally agreed to close my account. Then, he said I had to pay the $2.60 so he could close it as I was a risk. WHAT FOR A fraudulent charge that they put on my account, I'm the risk?? No. They operative deceptively and I'm sure they take advantage of many, many people. STAY AWAY FAR AWAY from their offers.

Card was allegedly sent out on 3/4 and I was notified by email that I could expect it within 7-10 business days. By 3/24, I had not received the card but had received a statement for the $75 annual fee. I spoke with a representative on 3/24 and was told she would zero out the balance, cancel the card and issue a new one. By 4/3, I had not received the SECOND card. I spoke with a representative AND a supervisor and was told 1) They cannot cancel a card and issue a new one (first rep lied? Hmmm, imagine that). 2) They would cancel the second card and issue a new one (thought you couldn't do that). 3) They will look at the account and call me back within 7-10 business days.
NONE of these reps were American and all were difficult to understand. ALL of them seemed not to care one bit that they are inefficient and in my opinion, fraudulent. ALL of them repeated the phrase "I am sorry for your inconvenience" multiple times but yet offered no solution to THEIR multiple errors. IF I ever receive the card, I will be cutting it immediately in half and sending it back to them along with a written letter stating my opinion of their business practices. Do NOT apply for this card! It is my belief that they are, in fact, a bogus company. After reading several other reviews, I am now grateful that the card never got here.

I used to have this credit card and was content. Unfortunately three years ago, I did a bankruptcy and included them in the contract. They are saying they are a charge-off when they know they were part of my bankruptcy. I think they are deliberately trying to be sneaky and get paid instead of respecting their original outcome.

Got pre-approved for a credit card with Credit One. Went ahead and went through with the application process. What they failed to inform me of is that they have a $75 annual "membership" fee, which goes up to $99 for the next year. I didn't see this until I received the card in the mail and activated it. I promptly called them and cancelled my "membership" because $75 is a complete ripoff. Other credit card companies don't charge this. Stay far away from this bank. Complete ripoff.

I originally applied for a credit line of $750 and was approved. I get the card in the mail and find out my limit is at $500. Then, once my card is maxed out after a move, I try to pay the bill online. After trying to login to my account online I find out I've been locked out by the bank. How am I supposed to pay my bill when my online login has been locked?! Then when I call Credit One they transfer me twice and have me run around through a verification process after verifying SEVERAL TIMES. This is ridiculous, I just want to pay my bill!

Over 2 years ago Credit One sent me an offer for a $500 card. Obviously, I had bad credit and was trying to rebuild anyway I could so I applied and voila approved for a Visa. I was ecstatic! Fast forward and my always paying more than the minimums ON TIME every month has raised my limit to $1800, some given, some accepted with a fee. They also sent me an additional card this year (MC) with an $850 limit that will go up over time, making my utilization and available credit ration even higher. I'll pay $25 for that all day!!!
When you have less than perfect credit, you get less than ideal terms. That's the way it is folks. These companies are taking a risk lending credit to people with blemishes on their record. And you expect them to not need to make their money? Imagine how many people default, of course there are fees. Look at ANY subprime lender and there WILL BE FEES. READ READ READ those terms people! They aren't there for you to just look at. Read and understand the CONTRACT you are signing. Some of these reviews are just laughable and make it painfully obvious on why your credit is poor.
Now, in regards to customer service, I have had a few instances where I needed to contact them, and thankfully the Indians I got were not too hard to understand and were not rude to me. So maybe, their frustration comes from having to deal with people who cannot read the terms they agreed to all day, or pay late, or have whatever other excuse for being financially irresponsible and not diligent and downright OCD about watching your accounts like a hawk to rebuild your profile. And yes, ** happens, and sometimes we lose a job or something happens, but this is a subprime bank (NOT BOFA, NOT Chase, NOT Capital One, or any other Tier one banking institution), they most likely are not going to "work" with you, and that's their choice as a lender and that's your problem for choosing them over a higher institution.
Nowhere in their terms that YOU agreed to does it say "we will work with you for payment arrangements if you incur financial hardship", and they do offer a credit protection plan if you are just generally unstable. And if it's that you couldn't get approved thanks to poor credit through a better bank, then maybe you should get a secured card instead until your situation improves. Just a thought. Also, I am a little worried for when the time comes to close the account, so TY to the poster with the Vegas number. Cheers!

I had fraudulent activity on my account. I called to let the CSR know and she explains that I should destroy the card and she will send one in 7-10 business days, because they don't offer FedEx, and don't have it. I waited 3 weeks and no card. I called back and the new CSR, as the previous one, did not understand English and kept asking what he should do. I was appalled. He then put me on hold without saying so and hung up. I called back because now I don't know what is going on with the account. I received another agent, who does not speak English well, and I could barely understand them.
I requested a supervisor who now tells a card was never sent. Jason was his name - id **. He explained that he can send me a card but he will have to charge me $25 for a new card, as well as FedEx charge. I asked was he serious, and he said "If you lost your card, that is the charge." I NEVER LOST MY CARD!!! It is like talking to a brick wall. I chose this account to use for my son, as an au, but now I would rather save myself the chest pain, and end this relationship.

I recently applied (3/19/2017) for a Credit One credit card online using the prequalify app and after prequalifying for a recommended credit card I was taken to their application site and which I applied and was approved for their Platinum Visa credit card. Moments later I checked the application status to see if the site could give me some information about my approval i.e the amount of my new credit line and how long would it take for me to receive my card. Website only stated that I my application had been approved and that I could check back to see when I would be expecting my card in the mail.
However today (3/27/2017) I called and spoke to a representative who said my account was denied? And that she had no idea why the site said I was approved. This representative was very rude and barely spoke English and any question I asked her she replied with a totally different answer as if it was her first time on the job and she didn't have a clue how her company worked. Being left in the dark I decided to call back and talked to a new rep. This new representative quickly told me I was approved and congratulated me and told me to expect my card soon? Was I denied or approved? This company seems to be very unprofessional. Wish I would of did some research before I applied. Customer service is rude and lack knowledge in their company and should be retrained on proper customer service.
