I paid off my credit card balance 2 months ago and actually paid too much leaving me with a $3.25 credit. New statement showed $5 balance. Called and Spoke with Maryann; insisted they remove the charge which they claim is a "monthly maintenance fee". How do you add finance charges to a $0 balance? Demanded to speak with a manager and told it would take 24-48 hours then she hung up on me. Closing this acct as soon as I close on my house Friday. Besides, I thought this was Capital One and have a FICO score well over 740 so they played me with the fake logo. Do yourself a favor and get a better card. Would give them zero stars but it's not an option here.

I received this card at the same time I was approved for 2 Capital One cards a year ago. Since then Capital One has given me 2 increases on both my cards with them, and Credit One will not give me one. I make all my payments early, and have never ever been late. I only got the card to help rebuild my credit, and now I wish I would have read the reviews first. Once I pay the card off, I am seriously considering closing my account. There is no benefit to paying your bills on time to show you are a good consumer, when the card company won't acknowledge and try to find reasons not to give you the increases you work for.

This creditor is horrible, I have had this credit card for a few years now because it was an easier one to get, Don't DO IT! Customer service is completely overseas. (The male reps are the hardest to understand and rude.) If you're one day late, they will blow up your phone even if you have been a customer for years and your account has been fine throughout. You can only make payments online with a check, I accidentally put my wrong checking account number for a payment, so it came back. They didn't tell me in a voicemail, email or an alert on my credit card account - I even paid it over phone once I found out it happened, and they closed my account - which they still didn't tell me. I didn't know they closed my account until I checked my credit report.

DO NOT APPLY FOR THIS CARD. The moment you apply they start the billing cycle and charges before you receive the card or activate it. They do not send you a bill thru the mail. They charge you and because you think you will be billed the following month, wrong you receive late charges on top of the other charges and you have not received the actual card. These people are crooks. If you have this card cut it up and pay it off immediately. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY FURTHER PERSONAL INFORMATION. They make their money by their late fees and their in-house charges. I cut this card up and will be paying in full next month. Total Fraud.

I have had this cc with Credit One for four months now. I knew about all the fees and charges to initially get started with this card because I had read all the fine print. What I should have done was read all these reviews first. First two months went by fine and without issues. Although I didn't care for the express payment fee, I still paid bill thru it, usually way before due and over the amount due. Worked out fine, no problem, payment went thru by next day and had credit for it.
Here's the catch! Last two months my card and website access were suspended due to what THEY THOUGHT was fraudulent activity. They failed to call me and inform me of them doing this beforehand to verify whether or not it's my doing. As most other legit companies will do! 4 times in 2 months this has happened. Naturally I make phone call and usually it's resolved pretty quickly and I can pay bill. But last month this action by them caused me to be late on payment, thus starting the barrage of harassing phone calls and trying to talk to reps that only half ass speak English because the CS center is outside the US and most of them don't know a rats ass from hole in the ground let alone customer service. I will just pay balance off thru the mail and close the account and cut up card. I'm fed up with them. So everyone saying STAY AWAY! Is very good advice and is a very astute and accurate statement.

Not only did Credit One allow someone to make 2 large purchases on my account from a computer in another state, they also allowed the criminal to transfer money from my checking account into my credit card account to cover his/her purchases. All these just days after I made my regular payment. At no time did they think this was suspicious. It's because Credit One has NO fraud protection unless you buy their plan. I had to research it all and email the two companies where the purchases were made. I was able to stop one purchase. The other one is still on my account 6 weeks later. This person changed my address, phone number, and email as well.
Each time I call customer service I get someone whose English is not even his or her second language. They are reading from a script and useless. I am locked out of online access, all the correspondence is going to the criminal, including the NEW card! I have no info at all. I called again today to try to make a payment. The impossible to understand man on the line tried to bully me into giving him all my new checking account info. He refused to give me the new account number so I can set up bill pay. "For security reasons". I guess the criminal wouldn't want me to have it.
He insisted he had no number for a fraud department. I said "Ok just give me the payment address and I will send a check." He said he did not have the address. He insisted since I had checks for my new account I could just give HIM the info to make a payment. I said "I don't feel comfortable giving it to you after all I've had to go through to change everything over. I will find the address and send a check." He said "so you're not making a payment today?" I hung up. I honestly believe at this point that all this was an inside job. These people are criminals. Credit One was established to scam people.

Sept. 2015 blocked out of my great standing account. Struggled for 2 months to be able to log in to pay on account. Ended up making payments via a 3rd party payer, due to the fact that calling credit company customer nonsupport yielded no help. After finally having the thrill of talking to an English speaking person, it was agreed that I had experienced fraud. At that point I was told there would be an investigation into the case. I paid my account 3rd party down to only a few dollars in the next few months. Supposedly someone had purchased car tires on my account that had triggered the fraud, tires that a UPS store in Loves Park IL. had called me in sept. 2015 for me to pick up. I live in central New York as I have for over 40 yrs., wouldn't order tires for pick up in IL... I had refused the tires as not mine.
Well time went by and no contact from anyone at Credit One bank. Noticed in January of this year 2017 that my credit score took a dive. After looking into the reason why, I realized the charge for the refused tires wasn't adjusted out, worse was that credit one had charged off my account and sent it to collections. I had not as mentioned heard from credit one in over a year thinking they were still investigating fraud. I called and spoke to someone in fraud again, she said that she had no record of me ever calling credit one on fraud and that I had to start over again.
So I sent info via fax as suggested and a few weeks later got a letter in the mail. Craziest letter I had ever received. They had the wrong account number listed on letter, named individuals on letter I had never heard of as on account, has me residing in several states from N.J. to Florida and back to where I have lived for the last 16 yrs. all at the same time. [I have lived my whole life in NY.] Also incorrect phone and e-mails that are/were supposed to be mine, I guess. So, I called again and spoke to someone and was told to send more documents via fax. Did so and heard nothing. Called again and was told that I would be hearing something by the end of the week, nothing... That was mid-February. Now near the end of march 2017 don't know what to do. In short, credit one bank is a disaster with no professional people that know how to satisfy or listen to what had always been an excellent customer. Beware all.

I've been nothing but an upstanding customer of theirs. I came across an emergency situation in which I needed documentation that contained my payments and current balance faxed to me on a letter head. THIS IS THE ONLY TIME I ASKED THEM TO DO SOMETHING! I understand that business' have their policies but the times that I have received great customer service were times where people were willing to go above and beyond to make me happy. Credit One was unwilling to do what was necessary to fax me my letter.
I explained to them that I was in the home buying process and I needed it to schedule my appraisal before my contingent period was over but they still wouldn't budget claiming that it's a "policy" & now I am in jeopardy of losing my chance at this home because of this. One of their reps, Paul just flat out lied to me saying that he would send the fax. After hours of waiting I called back only to hear about their "policy". Understand that if you sign up with credit one, don't depend on anything from them. They do not care about their customers only about the "policy".

I received a credit card from this company in the mail. I was told to call a number to activate. When I did call the activation number I was speaking to a man I could not understand. He told me I needed to send in a copy of my driver's license to activate the card??? Seriously. I have never had this occur with any card I have received. I was then given a post office box number to send my copied license to in Las Vegas. I found all of this very disturbing and have decided after reading all of the other reviews on this thread to avoid doing business with this company. Something is not right here. I am right and I will not be doing business here. Consumers Beware!!

I don't think the credit card itself is bad. It will give you a start on rebuilding your credit, just don't EVER be late (not even ONE day) and don't EVER have a payment return!!!! The problem is that if you ever have a check return, well, twice (full disclosure)... they block your online capability to access your account. So this means that unless you mail a payment in via snail mail, you have to call them or they call you after the due date 500 times a day from every state in the union... I'm exaggerating of course but geez!!! I seriously get 25+ calls a day!!! I would normally just take the call, make the payment and move on with life.
However EVERYONE you talk to at Credit One has that heavy, hard to understand, thick Indian accent and I have to be in a place that 1) I can focus and listen to them, 2) I have at least 10 min to talk because they obviously can't understand me either and 3) They repeat everything and thank me for my business 20 times before they will hang up... The most annoying company I have ever dealt with... They would get their payment much faster if they would just unlock my online access... Just saying... I know it's my fault but could we not punish me for the next 10 years... UGH!!!

This company has the same logo (different color) as Capital One so signing up for it was a mistake but things just got worse from there. There are hidden fees, a high interest rate and technology is way out of date. Takes multiple business days (7-10) to process a card payment online otherwise there is a $10 fee for express payment. Not compatible with financial planning apps like most other banks are. When I called in to cancel my account, they tried to cut down fees instead of canceling the account without my permission. Shady company! If you have to use this company to rebuild your credit just be careful and double check every charge. ONLY sign up if you have NO OTHER OPTION!

Their APR rate is ridiculously high, their customer service representatives are very rude, unprofessional, and dismissive to customers with complaints. They also charge a fee of $9.95 for expedited payments (which is forced) and a ton of hidden fees. It's like you're payment just to own the card. If I could give Credit One Bank a rating other than the options that are given to me it would be a negative 10! HORRIBLE!!!

Please don't waste your hard earned money with this crap. I have had this card for about 6 months now. In the beginning things were perfectly fine. Then I go to check my statement. And not even 24 hrs of me paying the bill. Someone charged my account 55.00. Leaving me with a 3.00 balance. They said they would file a claim but it think she was just blowing smoke. As soon as I can pay it off. I'm burning it... Do not sell your soul. Because they will do so.

First off I would give them 0 stars if I could! I will begin with how disgusted I am with this company. They are the biggest scam I have ever heard of! Unreal, I was robbed of my purse and my whole life was in there in November of 2016 and all my credit cards and information was stolen. I was also hurt during the robbery and have a police report. They sent me out a replacement card very quickly but, my limit was reached so I have not used the card in months prior to the theft. And, I was faithfully making payments before this happened to me. Anyways, I have called explained my issues and have made several payments to them in the meantime.
TODAY they called about 25 times. I answer and explain to them again that if they continue to charge me fees and interest I will NEVER be able to pay them back. In the meantime since November they have SCREWED up taking my payment from my savings account at least 3 times, have not allowed me to make a payment the normal way I was before my life got knocked out of whack and here we are 140$ OVER my credit limit. WHY? What is going on with them? I have explained about 100 times now that I need help with these late fees etc. And, not once have they sent me to a department that can help me! I would love to pay the whole thing off and never use it again but, that is not possible in my current financial situation.
I would like to keep this card in case of emergencies and make the minimum until I can get caught back up. Capital One has been great with helping me and I currently am in good standing with my account with them. This company is supposed to help you rebuild your credit and it's putting me into a worse hole ever! I don't understand why they cannot just simply STOP the fees and remove the ones now from the last 4 months. I might still not be paid off but, I would continue paying them every month if the new card they sent me was usable!
It's insane how they get away with this! I am ready to start talking to attorneys if they don't try to straighten things out for me! If anyone knows of a class action suit against them I would be totally interested in suing at this point. Life situations happen and this place just does not care at all. Capital One at least works with you and can help you if you have an issue in paying. Please stay away from this company if you plan on actually rebuilding your credit!!

This credit card is a scam. One: you sign up to make online payments and you can't get in the system to pay your bill. Two: they immediately charge you a late fee and send a new bill. Three: you call and tell the supervisor you're having a problem with the sign and miraculously your username and password work! Then you try it again and whatever the supervisor did to get you in the system it no longer works. Is it a coincidence that you suddenly can't make online payments when you were able to do so in the beginning? I can't understand why Capital One, Discover, Bank of America accepts all your payment as many times as you want during the month.
This bank charges you a fee for an 'express' payment. They also charge you for a credit increase. If you don't take it they mail and email with the offer but your username and password 'can not be processed.' DO NOT GET THIS CARD. They make their money charging fees. Credit One does not have a convenient way for you to pay your bill like the rest of the banking world. Be prepared to write a check and mail it in the old fashioned way - way before the due date so you don't get charged 35.00 late fee or extra 10.00 for express so you won't have to pay the late fee.

They are rude, disrespectful, can't hardly understand them! I will never use them again! If I could rate them lower than 1 star I would.

Lady said it was on the sheet that I received when applying for the credit card. Don't know if it was but that's a **. So now they can turn around and take my credit card back for all I care. Paid off balance is zero. Nobody get this card. Extra fees left and right. Try to make you pay to get a raise on your credit line. On my credit lines pretty much a 700. What a joke. This is the worst company ever!!! Not even worthy of 1 star. I only got this card to build my credit back up after my divorce and bankruptcy. I used it and paid it off every few months. I had it paid off, moved, and called to change my address. They didn't change it. They were charging me 6.50 each month and I didn't know it because I never received a statement then out of the blue they call and are very rude demanding their 19.00. I said I didn't know what they were talking about. I hadn't seen anything and my account was paid in full. They were extremely rude and said, "Don't you check your account every month?" I said, "No. It was paid off and I haven't used it!" I paid the 19.00 and they reported me to the Credit Bureau in 2015. I called and asked them to take it off they said no.
I should've closed my account then but I didn't. I called to close my account yesterday and they don't speak clear English. The man argued with me for a long time then he hung up on me. I checked online today and it's still open and charging me a monthly fee. Who do I go to next? I'm worried about my personal information. I think these people are not above board!

We gave Capital One access to our bank account to withdraw all their payments each month which they wouldn't and when we call about it would withdrawal it late causing my credit to be lowered. We gave up because tried paying them off and they would not cooperate with us... I suggest anybody not to invest into Credit One... They will ruin your life. Now we can't get a home BECAUSE of only one bad credit report which is Credit One. Other than that we had no problems but they will not work with you.

By far the WORST credit card company I have every experienced for handling a lost or stolen card. My daughter's wallet was stolen from her car and the scumbags charged everything they could before we could shut off the cards that were in it. Wells Fargo immediately reversed charges. Credit One Bank however refused to reverse charges until they received a signed affidavit which they never sent to me. The only thing I did get was a letter that stated Credit One Bank determined that the transactions were authorized and not fraudulent based on the fact that the purchases were made in your surrounding area. Well, NO ** SHIRLEY!! The thieves picked up the wallet and went shopping... Until the cards were shut down... DUH!
You can not talk to anyone in the fraud department unless they decide to call you back "in two business days" which usually doesn't happen until you call them a few more times. After calling customer service several times, they sent out the affidavit and also required an identity theft police report. Portland does not have any such report and it is a total waste of time anyway, especially for $340.00 worth of credit card fraud. The officer I spoke to chuckled when he heard that they were requiring this. It took almost three months to finally get them to reverse the charges with still no real conversation from anyone in the fraud department, only mail. So, steer clear of this credit card company. Credit One Bank obviously has no respect for their long time good standing customers. What a waste of time!

First of all, I failed to notice that the "Credit One Bank" logo was a direct copy (rip-off) of the "Capital One Bank". THAT was my mistake. In January of 2017, both credit card accounts were paid off in their entirety. Not one red cent was owed to this so-called 'bank'. In addition, neither card was used AT ALL since paying off the accounts. The trouble started when we received notification that we owed Credit One Bank $41 and change. REMEMBER... the account balances were ZERO, AND neither card had been used. This scam company attempted to charge us for "transactions" NONE WERE MADE, "late fees" LATE FEES WHEN NO PAYMENTS WERE DUE? and other miscellaneous charges that were not understandable.
I made 7-calls to the toll-free numbers; I was hung-up on 5-times and left on hold twice. It must be said at this point that ALL calls were answered by personnel in India and the Philippines. All with very thick accents and hardly understandable. NO AMERICANS are being employed by this company. Finally, I called a number for the 'bank' that was not the standard customer service number, and talked to a man (very thick foreign accent) who canceled the cards (Thank you!) but then proceeded to yell at ME! It was rather humorous to listen to this foreigner, who was obviously struggling to use what little English language skills he had, try to be dominant in the phone conversation! Ha! Ha! Ha! The bottom line is: CREDIT ONE BANK is a direct rip-off of the CAPITAL ONE BANK (just look at the logos)! Credit One Bank is infamously dishonest (tried to steal $41 from us) and their so-called customer service is anything but. STAY AWAY from these THIEVES!

This credit card company (Credit One) is engaging in unethical practices. I can never log on to the account to review statements and activities, which is a common complaint, and when I make payments it takes several days to post and then I am assessed a $35 late fee when it was paid on time!!! The reps try to encourage customers to pay 10.95 for express payments, a way for the company to get over on the consumer. Recurring payments cannot be set up so every month I have to sign on to the account and I cannot access it. When I call they offer to take the payment for $10.95. There is no accurate way to keep track of the account, even with paper statements. I went back and saw where I had been billed late fees multiple times over the past year when payments were made on time. No one speaks English so you can't understand. I would not give this card even 1 star. At first things were fine. But then I guess I messed up 1 (supposedly 2) payments by accidently using wrong bank details for payment so just for that they closed the account. Which whatever I am fine with that. But I could not get on the account via web to see anything at all. I've spoken to them via phone a few times and they are stupid, rude and don't help. They want to say the account is closed yet when I paid the balance in full just now then they added "the charges will be posted to your account on so and so day." I'm like if the account doesn't exist how is it going to be posted?
A previous phone call they said the only way I can get my account back (not that I want it) they said I had to provide proof of my bank account. And I think they wanted proof of the US bank I had started the card with - which I had moved since then out of state. I told them repeatedly how can I show proof of an account I no longer have because I friggin moved? They couldn't answer. Other than that I asked my current bank today about a letter and if they have ever heard of such a thing and she was weirded out too by it, why need a letter proving you have an account? That makes no sense. As I told these idiots, as long as the bills being paid who the ** cares? I made one little accidental slip up on a payment... just so stupid.
Oh yeah you press 1 for English. You won't get anyone that speaks English! It's clearly run in Iraq or some nonsense like that! No wonder it's so **! Also today when I paid the balance they said it was 497 (could only go to 500) and it should of been like 46 or 470 since I had paid 39 in the last few weeks. They said I had a return charge from my mistake... I'm like why am I being charged now for that when that was at least 2 months ago? Cow couldn't answer me of course. I've had to scream at them each time I've called. I start off being nice but they are so freaking stupid you can't help but yell. In the end today the "woman" hung up on me after I paid the balance. I swear I better not have any issues come up with it down the road (since they claim its closed yet I don't believe it is) I don't want to have to sue the company itself!
So stay away from Credit One!!!! I also have Capital One and I haven't had an issue with them (knock on air). I have no idea if they are run by the Middle East too. I hope I don't have a problem with them either. But stay far away from Credit One. They are nothing but a headache! This is why Trump won! If I press 1 for freaking English we should get someone that actually speaks English!

I am very thankful I was able to use Credit One Bank to rebuild my credit! After going through a messy divorce, my credit score was in the mid 500 range. I received a pre-qualification letter in the mail and was approved online. I used the card for gas, and enjoyed the cash back that I received from that. I paid it off every month, and within 18 months was able to drastically improve my score and was approved for a card with fewer fees and a lower interest rate through Amex. Yes, it is a little pricey to use, but can help with the credit rebuilding process. I received many offers to increase my limit for around $25.00. I ignored those and a few weeks later was invited to increase the limit for free. Be patient, don't carry a balance, pay the bill on time, and you will increase your credit score!

They are very annoying when you miss one payment. Of course they lie to you about the policy. One tells you something then the next day it's not true or they don't agree with what they agreed to settle with to pay off your amount. They reported my credit because I owed them $1 after I finally paid them off in zeros!!! They even tell you "Congratulations. Your account is in $0!!!" A couple months later, I owe them one dollar and then they report it to my credit history!!!

I just tried to make payment online with no luck. Every month I try doing it online because pay by phone charges a fee. And if you send in mail be sure it's at least 2 weeks before due date or you will get charged a late fee. I sent one in 1 week before and was charged a late fee. Today when trying to make payment, website kept asking for bank acc. number then asked for amount that was recently put into bank account which my bank acc. did not show. So I called customer service to ask about. They said this was to verify bank acc., same one I had been using, so why do they need to put me through all that trouble.
After argument with them I decided to mail payment. Looked back at last months bank account to notice that Credit One deposited. 90 cent and .64 cents that withdrawn back out. I really don't like them being able to access my bank account without my permission, this only gives them a chance to clean out my bank account. What can I do to stop them and only mail payments? Also they will call you up days before due date demanding I give them bank account number for payment. I will be glad to pay them off and close account, if they don't clean me out first.

I made a payment on my credit card on March 2nd, however, today 3/7, there was an unauthorized payment for 150.00 that is trying to go through my bank account. I send them a check every month for my payment. I do not pay online or via phone. My bank said they used my routing and checking account number and since they didn't put a "check number" I have to pay 35.00 to stop the payment and then dispute it. Credit One says they do not see anything on their side that "someone from my family must have made the payment." They want a bank statement mailed to them to their P.O. Box in Las Vegas to "prove" there was a charge since they do not see anything on their side. They said that mailing that information was the only way. I think they are making payments and pocketing the money which would explain why there is no record online of the payment. I have never been late or missed a payment. This company needs to be investigated.

I should have read the reviews prior to accepting the offer. I received the card in the mail and a bill for the $75 annual fee the next day. I was traveling so I did not have time to activate the card. I attempted several times to setup an online account but the website was either down, or errored out. I tried for several days. I decided not to activate the card because I was very nervous about this company after having so many issues before I even used it. I've received messages to my email saying welcome but still not able to access the account online to see balance or pay the activation fee.
I should mention I downloaded the app and tried it that way as well. Today I activated, and then tried. I called the card to cancel and they have given me a dozen reasons why the website isn't working (trying to tell me it's highly secure and that's why I can't get to it if I've accessed it more than once from the same laptop. When I asked to cancel the card, and that I would pay the fee if he could tell me how to access it online, the gentleman said I would need to mail in a payment or provide him with payment information.
When I was transferred to the supervisor, "Paul" he said he would close the account and not assess any fees. I asked for his location, where his office is located, and his last name so I could document the information so there are no issues. He said, he could not give last name, and that he was located in India. He did give me an ID number, which I'm keeping with the documentation and will check my credit score in 3-5 days. He said my account would be closed, there would be no charges, and they would remove it from my credit account. I do not have a good feeling about this, and really wish I had done my homework.

Upon doing so and subsequent to their (USAA) Investigation, no fraud was found. During this Investigation USAA stopped all payments associated with my account and reopen them paying said accounts, except for Credit One who closed my account with them.
I contacted Credit One and after paying December's bill, was told they closed my account. This company is a madhouse. When I originally signed up for their card, after receiving a letter that I was pre-approved for $x in credit with NO annual fee, I thought this might be a handy card to have. I received via email: Credit One Bank Approval Notification, then, Your Card is in the Mail, then, Activation Confirmation, and finally Welcome to Credit One Bank.
I had no immediate use or need for their card, and shortly thereafter got my first statement from them. Having not used the card, I opened the statement expecting to see a $0.00 balance, but instead found that Credit One Bank had charged a $75 annual membership fee, and that if I chose not to use the card and just make the minimum monthly payment, that I would pay a total of $78. To add insult to this, the amount of Credit extended was their lowest possible amount... $225! WHAT THE...!?
Credit One Bank's website states that the annual fee is between $0-$75, but the cardholder has no way of knowing what their fee will be until the first statement arrives. Needless to say, I immediately called Credit One Bank and told Ron (the CSR), then J.L. (the Supervisor), then Michael (another CSR) and finally Michelle (another Supervisor), that I wanted to cancel this card because of the surprise annual membership charges and that I had no intentions of paying $78 for $225 in extended credit.
I was assured by their staff (the above mentioned) that they would cancel the card and reflect no balance owed on the account. I asked for an email, as well as a letter via mail, confirming this, and was told that they have no ability of contacting me via email. I again reminded them that I was in fact getting emails from them, and that I found it frustrating that this information I requested could only be provided via postal service. Giving me no guarantee that... the card has been cancelled, nor that the account would show a zero balanced owed. I was told that it would take 7 to 10 business days for me to receive a letter from them stating the above narrative. I guess I will have to wait and see!
In the mean time, I will also be filing this complaint with the Better Business Bureau, as well as the FDIC, to make sure this company, Credit One Bank, is not using this tactic on less suspecting individuals, with these deceptive practices. Shame on Mamta Kapoor (Senior Vice President of Acquisition Marketing) and Sam Dommer (Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President of Business Development) the only two people listed as Key Executives of Credit One Bank!

Called them which was a nightmare in itself. They said I owe the $39 + because it was a service fee PLUS an interest fee on the service charge! Seriously!! They count their own fees as a purchase and charge interest on it. Finally, I got a bank cashiers check, mailed it registered mail, overnight service along with a letter requesting they cancel my card and close my acct. I expect for more fees to be added for the 2 days it took to notify them and pay the balance... thus, my bill will continue on and on and on. I was trying to rebuild my credit so even after all the negative reviews I thought - ok I'll try them. Actually ended up with 2 cards from them - set up online payments and paid more than the minimum every month always early. This past December I logged on, made payment. Realized about a week later it hadn't hit my bank account. Logged back in - they showed payment, then it was reversed. They charged a late fee. I thought ok - same bank account I have been paying out of for two years with no issue, maybe there was a glitch, I went into the "confirm account", re-entered the info and then again submitted a payment. This time when it hadn't hit my bank in three days I logged in again - it still showed the payment as having gone through. I waited 2 more days and checked again - now I can't even log into my account.
I immediately call customer service. "Steve" tells me, "Oh - your account is closed because the bank rejected your payment." I told him that wasn't possible, and he said, "Sure it is - you need to call them it has nothing to do with us. But your account is now closed because if a payment is rejected the account "automatically" closes." So I call my bank, and am told, "Nope - nobody tried to withdraw anything - call them back because they are lying to you. If they had tried they will have a "tracking number" they should provide to you that will tell why it was rejected." So, I call back. Talk to "Patty" this time, have to go through the WHOLE story again, she tells me, "Oh no the problem is that we couldn't verify your bank." WHAT??
I asked her how it was possible. I made payments online for two years out of the very bank account they now "could not verify". She literally said, "I don't know." Then she asked me for all the bank info again - put me on hold and then came back and said - "Oh, ok it is verified now." Then she said they would have a supervisor go through the account and get it re-opened, should take about three business days. I said, "Ok." I actually waited a week - 5 business days. No one had called. So again I call them. No idea what this one's name was - couldn't understand it. She pulled up the account and said, "Um your account is closed." Already knew that - so I went through the WHOLE story, again, and she said, "Um - I see some notes where you called in but no one has reviewed your account yet."
At that point I told her I didn't want anyone to review it - I was sick of all the lies and bs I had to go through - I told her just keep them closed and mail me the final statements so I can pay them in full and be done with them. Two weeks later, I have received ONE statement - I just had to call them to get the balance on the other one so I could pay it in full before they try to tack on some other bs. Also, they can't even mail out a statement properly but within a week had reported the accounts closed and with a balance and that the two accounts were past due to the credit bureaus. So, beware if you get involved with these shady people - if you have any issue they will not help you and in fact make it very difficult to get anything resolved. Terribly angry still.

I just called to cancel the card and they tried every way they knew how to try to get me not to cancel the card. They told me that by canceling the card it would hurt my credit score even though I had a zero balance and never made a late payment. They told me that they would report it to all three credit agencies and it would be best not to cancel. He also told me that I had already paid my annual fee for the year and I wouldn't have to start paying another annual fee until September and something about using that money I was paying in annual fees to be able to buy more on the card and pay on it.
I told him that I wasn't interested in spending more on the card and that I just wanted to cancel the card and that I wanted confirmation sent to me that the card was canceled. He then told me that he would refund $49.00 back to my card that I could spend on whatever I wanted if I didn't cancel. I told him I didn't want a $49.00 refund, I wanted my card canceled and I wanted confirmation that it was canceled sent to me. He told me that he was canceling my card and that he was sending me the confirmation. I am not sure if they canceled the card or not because I have not gotten any confirmation. I am hoping that it is canceled because there is no way to cancel it yourself on the website. If I could give zero stars, I would. I've never dealt with a more incompetent company in my life. Gonna list out a few issues I've had.
You can barely understand what the representative is saying (I've never spoke with a rep who didn't have a heavy accent). Unfortunately, you will be speaking with these people often which brings me to my next issue... The card is constantly being blocked. When I call to have the block removed, they always say it was for suspicious activity. The suspicious activity is always a well-known merchant (for ex: Kroger).
When the card is blocked, you don't know until a transaction is denied during a purchase. You don't get a call, text, email or anything. If you log online to view the account to see what is going on, the card completely disappears from the account. This is not a glitch. It happens every time. We have two cards with them (which both show up online when we log on... the one that is blocked disappears until you call to have the block removed). When you call to have the block removed, the card stays gone from the account for hours after you call to have the block removed. You can't make payments, view transactions, or do anything online for that card until it shows back up. Which brings me to my next issue... payments.
You can only make 4 payments the account per 30 day period. I like to pay my cards off often. You have to be careful with Credit One because if you do more than one per week, you will be blocked from making another pay period until the 30 days from that first payment starts over. If you have someone that you allow to speak on your behalf, for ex authorized user, they're very limited on what they can do on your account. It doesn't matter how many permissions you are willing to give that person, you will still be required to verify the account on the phone if the card is blocked. They won't s/w the authorized person at all until they can verify your account with YOU. So, if you have a card and your adult daughter is an authorized user, and her card is blocked, YOU have to be the one to call in to fix it.

Mob style tactics to collect and overcharge fees and penalties. It all seemed like they were willing to help a disabled Vet with financial problems, I wasn't always in distress and hoped to recover my credit rating. There is no way to please these people, endless fees for paying on time, late, whatever, it's a scam to cheat good people out of their hard earned money. I was injured and almost died, and explained to the low-life (probably one of those people who live in the sewer in Las Vegas, and a business in Las Vegas). Anyway, what a sleazy operation! Like the mob, but I borrowed money from a loan shark once and he was more respectful and sympathetic than these foreigners. They have call you and demand you pay them now, with a credit card number.
Anyway, I told her that I had a brain injury and it would take some time to recover... She said I wouldn't get away with paying just because I had a "headache"!!! I had a serious skull fracture and concussion, and this ingrate is judging me because of a sleazy scam based loan shark business. I tried to pay what I could and they demand the minimum payment, then add fees, endless fees, and do not offer auto bill pay, why? Because they make a fortune from the penalties. I have been able to make arrangements with all my other creditors, except them, they don't want you to pay, they want you to be tied up with fees and penalties. I actually got to speak to someone with a brain and they sounded reasonable, but they probably got fired because they were sympathetic.
I even told them they were mobsters posing as a legitimate credit card company. They destroyed my credit and still demand payments even though I thought we were still in a negotiation mode. They make more from you if you are late, and don't pay, please God, don't get trapped like I did. I am afraid to answer the phone for the abuse that follows and they have some sort of phone scam that call from other parts of the country that trick you to answer. All they wanted was a payment for 45 dollars. I don't have a Credit One credit card and have never used one. They said it was a fee. They could not answer what the fee was for. If I did not pay it I would be charged a late fee of 35 dollars. I have never used their service nor do I have their credit card. This is fraudulent on their part. They cannot answer what I am getting charged for.

This company will nonstop send pre-qualified offers then say denied with extremely inaccurate information as reason why. I have filed multiple reports with the government and President's office stating do not contact me. One of biggest reasons is the pre-qualification comes back with extremely inaccurate information which I just verified with the credit bureau. It said my score was 200 points less than what it actually is. If anyone knows how I can file a legal complaint requesting they be fined for violation like you can with the Do Not Call list please let me know. Also from what I read people say you have to pay for this card and it is not in the pre-qualification emails they send out. They are very shady and fraudulent.

They of course will take a payment over the phone, but charge a $9.95 processing fee, yea right! My card was declined TWICE for a less than $300 purchase. I was nowhere even remotely close to my limit. I knew this so I figured it was a simple mistake THEY screwed up. So I paid with another card but I called to see why I was declined. The first guy I spoke with Sam was a complete jerk that didn't assist me at all, he gave out false info by telling me that $300 was my limit on any purchase. I've made several purchases on my card totaling far more than $300, so that was a lie; which I told him. Then he kept saying he can process the transaction, and I had to keep telling him (A foreigner... Go figure.) that I didn't want it processed, I paid for it with another card! He had the worst attitude and when I asked for his name he said SAM. I asked for a last name. He told me he didn't have one and asked if there was anything else I needed as if I was the rude, surly one. So yes, I hung up on him - but whatever.
I called back to see if I could file a complaint and I spoke with a supervisor by the name of PETER who apologized but could care less about it. So basically I couldn't file a complaint, and he didn't give me a reason as to why I couldn't file one. He asked if there was anything else he could help me with, but didn't help with the one thing I called about. Therefore I turned here. I've never had a problem with my card or account; it's not until you call customer service for "assistance" that you run into a bunch of problems. But I will definitely be closing this account and I do not recommend to anyone. I would fully support a class action lawsuit if one was to come about. This company is a joke.

Why does it take so long for a payment to be processed in 2017? It's complete dishonesty when you're paying your bill using your checking account information and still have to wait 8 days for the funds to become available. How is this so, isn't that like an automatic debit transaction? Credit One makes a profitable business by charging $9.95 for your funds to be available the next day. I recently obtained a Capital One credit card which is what I originally wanted when I applied for the card- I guess I was a bit confused by the logo as they kinda looked the same. However, I will continue to make my on-time payments until the card is paid off. However, I want to thank Credit One for helping me rebuild my credit when no one else did.

My call was in regards to a payment made that was returned. I was charged $25 for a late fee, even though I made my payment 1 whole day before it was due! Credit One bank routinely rejects payment, and their website is constantly not working! Payments made may not post to your account for "up to 5 days" according to the Customer Service Senior Manager David ID#** who I talked to. I was repeatedly put on hold, and spent 2 1/2 hours on the phone being sent from one "so called" manager to another.
When I asked to receive my credit card statements in writing, by mail, I was told I had to pay a $2 fee for each statement. I never did get the information I asked for which is available to me by Law from this "so called bank"! They kept telling me I had to make my requests in writing, but refused to give me an address, except a PO Box in Las Vegas! I asked if they had a Headquarters in America, they said yes, but refused to give that information.
After 2 1/2 hours of "phone tag", I didn't get anything resolved, the late fee they charged for "not accepting my payment" on their website is still on my account! They charge $9.99 for an "Express payment", that may post to your account in 24 to 48 hrs, and if you make a "standard payment" your account may not be credited for 3 to 5 days, which means the payment you make "might not be pulled from our bank for days" many times causing you to get late fees and other charges! Do Not Use this so called Bank! It may not be a REAL BANK!

In addition, their paper statement do not get to you on time so do not depend on those for a reminder or to mail a payment because you will never be on time and they will report you late even though you can't access their system online. Worst worst worst place to ever trust with your personal information!!! I will never ever recommend this company not even to my worst enemy!!!! I applied back in Nov. 2016... I called literally 1 week before I applied to change my address! They said it was changed. I move and which then I seen I was approved which I called again to make sure the card gets sent to the right address... Did it? Noooo they said I never called to change my address. So I let it go maybe thinking it was a minor mistake. Well I was wrong. Again I changed my address. By now I got two address changes through the mail at the correct address. Stating "Your address was changed" but I still have not yet received my credit card.
I call again for the third time to see if it was shipped and hoping it was shipped to the correct address (remind you they sent me 2 mailing confirming my address change) so as I am on the phone they again they said "no your address is not changed in our system????" (Hello you sent me confirmation on my address change assuring me my card will be sent to the correct address.) I was having so many problems with them and I haven't even received the card!!! Now I let this slide... So I call again on the date the promised my card should have arrived to the right address... (Which it didn't.) While I am on the phone they let me know my card was never shipped. (Wow.)
I have about had it with them!!! I ask them to close out my account permanently close it. (I am beyond furious with them.) They told me the account is now closed... But wait I then receive two cards in the mail (the ones they said they never shipped out). Actually the ones they said it was supposed to be shipped to the correct address and in reality it got shipped to my old address... (But I was told the card was never shipped) yet I received two of them????? This is your SSN and credit on the line here people. I advise you to use someone better than them! Yes, they have suspended my card due to suspicious activity - all credit cards do - but all it took was a 2 minute call to update my info and the card was active again. I have disputed fees and they have taken care of them. Most recent, I had fraud on my account. They closed the one card and sent me a new one. Then, as all credit cards do, they requested an affidavit and a police report. They took care of the issue with no problem. I reported the issue to them in Dec. They sent me a letter stating they were looking into the problem and asking me to fill out the forms. This was all handled by the end of Dec. End of January, I received a letter back stating they have taken care of everything- but also asking to contact one place I agreed I was responsible for the charges at because they had issued them a refund. The credit line increases are great as well :)

I am filing with NYS attorney general as he stopped first premier won a lawsuit and he will do the same with credit one. AVOID this, card at all cost. I paid on time and even before, my due date. This card is crap. They lie about raising your credit limit in 5 months. Never happens which is a good thing. I have maybe 40 to pay it off and I'm closing the account. It's not worth having such a low rate credit and paying a high usage fee of $99 a yr not including the 8 they add on monthly for even charging anything.
Cutting this card up once all my paperwork is filed with the NY state attorney general. If I can prevent one person from being taken by a knockoff, fraud bank that misleads you right of piggybacking off of capital one's name that in itself is illegal. I see I'm not the first to notice. So far my experience with this creditor has been unpleasant to say the least. In July of 2015 I tried to apply for a card with them and was taken through the ringer about verifying my info. They claim that everything has to be mailed to them in Las Vegas, but after mailing things to them they seem to get lost. So I gave up on them. About a week later I received a bill telling that I owe the annual fee. I called them and told them I got it and I shouldn't have to pay it because they never mailed me the card. She put me on hold for a good 5 minutes just to come back and tell me that they could not do anything about it other than to put in a claim to have it reversed.
They called me at least 7 times a day for over a month about it before they got it taken care of. Well this year in 2017 my credit is much better and I received another offer from them wanting me to give them another chance. I responded to the offer and was approved. My card arrived in the mail about a week later, so I called to activate it. The customer service rep was hard to understand. He told me that I had been notified by mail or email that they needed a copy of my driver license and a recent utility bill in my name in order for me to activate my card. I told him that I never received such notice and I wanted to know why they need it now after they have already mailed me the card? He had no answer other than shouting the address I needed to mail this stuff to. I still do not have any faith in this company.

I have had the worst experience with this company from the outset! Their customer service is based in Manila, Philippines and they are the most arrogant, unprofessional, and worst Customer Service reps around!!! I thought that I would beat the endless automated phone system by speaking with a Spanish speaking rep, but to my surprise their rep spoke Spanish worse than their English. I'm IRATE at the fact that they want to charge you $9.95 to do an express payment to pay your monthly payment. I was told that one of my payments did not go through and that I was charged a fee of $25.00 for a returned payment. I spoke with a supervisor and I was told that if I made a phone payment with him over the phone, I would have the fee waived. Boy was that a lie! I was charged the fee on 1/26/17 after the supervisor told me that he would waive the fee.
I feel that I'm being held hostage with my own bank account, since it takes more than a week for the funds to clear your account from your checking account - in order to avoid the $9.95 fee. I truly wished that I could have researched this card company before I accepted their offer. Shopper beware!! I finally got in touch with their corporate office after I insisted to speak with someone from the office of the President. The supervisor from the call center told me that she would contact them and that I would receive a phone call back from a supervisor in their corporate office in Las Vegas NV within 24-48 hours. After waiting for a week, I called and spoke to a supervisor again out of the Philippines and they finally transferred me to a supervisor in Las Vegas.
I am writing a letter to the President of this company and voicing my concerns about this company. Do not do business with this company. Do your research. I found it interesting that they are not listed in the Better Business Bureau website. I called yesterday and closed my account. Hopefully I won't have any issues with this card anymore!!!

Unlike the review: L. S. of Kansas City, MO on Jan. 24, 2017, regarding Credit One Bank, I experienced a positive response. I developed throat cancer over the years, which was diagnosed in Spring of 2014. I knew I would be out of work, and called all my credit cards to see how they could help me in maintaining my financial dignity. All three of them did, Discover, Capital One and Credit One. Credit One required that I sign up for credit protection, which cost me monthly; the other credit cards did not charge me at all. Credit One required that I be on the credit protection program for 30 days before the protection would become effective. The other credit cards placed me in immediate protection... Well 48 hours anyway.
Credit One held true to their part of the protection... I didn't make a single payment for 5 months, to any of my credit cards. Capital One and Discover were fine with this, as they placed me under a "medical hardship status" and lowered my interest for one year to an annual 3% (estimated) or something ridiculously low. Credit One did not lower my interest rate at all. My balance with them soon exceeded my limit while I was recovering from chemotherapy and radiation treatments at home. My balance with Credit One was around 80% of the limit before my procedures. At the end of the 5 months, I was around $300 above my limit, based on the annual memberships fee (paid monthly), the interest, AND the Credit Protection monthly fee. My other credit cards never bumped up more than around $30 in interest the entire 5 months.
The other credit cards, since then, have given me two limit increases, in the two and a half years since the treatments. Capital One and Discover, each, gave me two that were automatic - and free - increases in credit limits; Credit One wants $24.95 for an increase of only $150. I continue to ignore the offer. I will not BUY my credit increases. That's crazy!
While Credit One was my first revolving charge card - before the others - having the card/account was special for a couple years. But since I became a Discover cardholder and a Capital One cardholder, I am weening myself off the Credit One card "Need." It is still active, and is still costing me a fortune in annual fees... Above the interest, BUT having unused available credit on the card helps keep my credit score "up there." I am planning on closing the Credit One account soon, as my other cards become the ones which are paid down, and become the credit score winners. Credit One got me in the game, for rebuilding my credit score years ago, but I have graduated from their greed. I will still give them kudos for helping me three years ago, though, but a 30-day wait? What if I have an accident? Cancer procedures were predictable.

Write letters to your Attorney General explaining your experience so that this company can go out of business and stop scamming innocent people. This credit card will cause you to have MORE bad credit problems. BEWARE!!! DO NOT be so desperate to accept this card. Get a secured card and then get a reputable builder credit card with Capital One or someone similar. (Not First Premier, Credit One, Indigo or any similar type of cards for bad credit.)
I made the mistake of accepting this card around Christmas of 2016. My first bill was due January 20. I'd read online that Credit One plays around with people's credit card payments so I logged onto my account to pay my bill one week in advance to make sure my payment posted on time. I entered the same checking account information that I use successfully for all of my credit cards and utility bills for the past 18 years (and I've NEVER had a problem) - HOWEVER, I logged on one week later to check to make sure the payment posted and it indicated the payment was returned? WHAT????! I was so furious as the funds had been sitting in my account a whole week.
I called (and this would be the first of TEN phone calls I placed within a week), and was connected to someone who couldn't speak good English. I asked for a supervisor. Was just as bad as the first representative and then I asked to speak to a manager. The manager was polite and apologetic and took my checking account information over the phone and waived the $9.95 fee. She repeated the bank account information to me 3 times and it was correct. HOWEVER, one week later, I checked my account AGAIN to find the payment was returned. I called again, same drill as above (each time holding about 45 minutes). I finally reached a "manager" and she waived the second of two late fees I had received through no fault of my own and took my payment as a debit card over the phone and waived the $9.95 fee.
This payment went through just fine, because again, the funds had been in my account for two weeks. However, I told her I wanted to close my account because of the poor customer service, long hold times, and the issues with my payment not posting so I would be FORCED to pay late fees and processing fees, and she tells me that the account was closed for my payment not going through twice and I would need to send in a bank verification letter. WHAT? I had never heard of such a thing. It wasn't my fault and now I have to go and get a letter?
This company is a scam, scam, scam and I really hope that each person reading this will not take this card to avoid stress, frustration, anger, and dings on your credit score and report. ALSO, write letters to the Attorney General's Office so that they can be investigated for scamming innocent people. If you take this card you will regret it. You have been warned.

Applied cc from this bank several months ago. Did not activate the card until couple days ago and got a call today that I am 5 days late on the annual fee of $75 I did not know about; SHOCKED! Called the number left on my cell - spoke to 5 people from the bank and finally someone who speaks got the message; I have been trying to communicate and understood me. Took out the $25 late fee and $25 from the annual fee... Then I felt like the rep I was talking to was rushing me off the telephone... hmmm. I'm paying the balance and closing the account anyways... thanks for the 2nd chance but services you are providing is not helping but rubbing hard working people.

If you are looking for a credit card, I would advise you in the strongest terms not to get this one. For one, when you want to make a payment online, they ask if you want to make an express or standard payment. Express charges you $9.95 and post in like 2 days. Standard does not post for 5 business days which means you could be counted as late if it doesn't post soon enough. And then they will ask if you want an increase of like $125, but will charge you a $25 fee. Then when you make a payment and you pay like $25, you will find that only $5.00 went towards paying your bill and you balance is higher on your next statement than it was before making your payment! My suggestion, please find another card. You'll never get out of debt with this one unless you pay it off all at once.

I have had the most horrible troubles with this company processing payments. Not only do they not accept internet quick payments, but they also require you to send proof of payments in the mail. No email or faxes are available. I made my payment to them a month ago, have had to call them about a late fee I received, and my bank has proof they've already cashed the check! As soon as my payment goes through, I'm closing that account. What a bunch of crooks. DON'T GET THIS CARD!!!

I would never recommend Credit One Bank for a credit card for anyone. If you have bad credit and you are trying to restore your credit, find another place, any place besides these people. I will start with the free sign up for the card. It was advertised as no fee the first year. I was charged that fee the very first month. I figured I must have read it wrong and went ahead and paid the fee. I also had to pay a fee to get a second card in my husband's name. So already, I am realizing that this isn't all it was cracked up to be. But I decided to keep the card. I had no intention of maintaining a balance anyway. I planned on paying it off every month or sooner to void interest charges.
After two months with the card, I was balancing my purchases and noticed that there were two small interest charges. Also, I was unable to make a payment on the card, the message said that I couldn't make a payment within 24 hours of my last payment. Okay, fine, I'll wait a day, the balance isn't due anyway and I am paying it off early. The next day I got the same message. I called them and to my surprise, the reason I couldn't make a payment is because you are limited to only 4 payments a month. I don't know if that is somewhere in the small print that I didn't read but I was not happy. I simply wanted to pay off the balance before the due date so as not to get an interest charge.
It was during this call that I also asked about the two previous charges. I was told I had an interest charge on my purchases just because I had the card. What??!! I am being charged an annual fee and a monthly charge to have the card even if I don't have a balance? I was livid. So I told her I wanted to cancel my card and pay it off right then and there. This was the end of Dec. and my billing cycle would end on Jan. 2nd. I was not allowed to do this because I had made 4 payments this month, even though I was closing the account. Fine, I will call on Jan 2nd and make the final payment and double check that the account is closed. On Jan 2nd, they took my final payment and verified that I had closed my account.
A few days later, I signed in just to make sure the account was closed and what do I see, interest charges for $2.92. Now, I am really mad, how can you charge interest on a closed account that was paid off and one that I never carried a balance on? I called again and got hold of someone and once I complained they stated that they would take those charges off in 24-48 hours. I checked a week later and those charges are still there. Again I called and was told she would refer me to a manager, once again I was told they would remove those charges in 24-48 hours. Well, it has been 24 hours and the charges are still there. I will be sure to check tomorrow.
I realize $2.92 is not a lot of money but this is ridiculous. If they make a couple dollars off of thousands of people this way, it is a perfect scam. DO NOT GET A CREDIT CARD FROM CREDIT ONE BANK!! The one positive I can say about them, they do answer their phones and you do get to speak with a real person rather quickly. But that is the only thing positive I can say.

Stay away as all of the other reviews are telling you. I too have been a victim of this scam (dirty credit trap). I have been working incredibly hard on reestablishing my credit and of course, I get an offer from "Credit One Bank". It just so happens that I have a Capital One credit card so my first thought was that Credit One Bank was an an entity of Capital One. I took the bait and right away I was approved. I was excited about the idea that my personal credit was on the way up. Once I setup the account online, I noticed a balance of $87. I then went into concern with how could this be? I thought to myself, I just opened the account with a charge that I new nothing about. To add to the misery, I tried to contact them for an explanation about the immediate balance amount, and I still have not heard from them. It has been almost a month.

When I called, nobody knew about my case so they promise to answer in 48 hrs. In the meantime my charges continue to grow, in spite of not using my credit card. The payment due was for January 12th. I opened this account through a flyer I received in the mail. Said "NO application or yearly fee". Was surprised to see a $75 annual fee added to my account. How can I pay a bill that I had no idea it was due. They are on a 30 day billing cycle but I was supposedly billed less than 30 days. One CS just sit there until she got tired of me saying hello, she hung up the phone. I asked why I could not pay the annual fee in one lump payment, and I was told that I could not do that.
I then asked if they were in the United States. They are in Manila, Philippines. They only use an address in Las Vegas, but I don't believe that this company is following guidelines in the US. One rep told me that they follow guidelines from the company in Las Vegas, but I believe that it is a fake address. They have increase my finance charge twice and I have never paid this account late. I just ended a call with an agent that is clearly in the Philippines. I expressed my outrage regarding the LIE that your funds will be available 24 hours after payment for a "nominal" fee of 9.95. Words of advice...only use this option if you are going to be late paying. Late being you didn't give yourself a whole week for it to clear (which is ridiculous).
They told me that there is a disclaimer stating 100 dollars will be available. I said "Where does that appear because I certainly would not pay an extra fee only to have the credit available the same day as a standard payment." She said and I beg of you to not have an aneurysm "it says it AFTER you process the payment". Not when you go to confirm the payment, after you process the payment. That thing is on its way through the interwebs. Oh and don't try to cancel, I tried to do that and a mere 8 minutes after it is unable to cancel. I am curious as to how legal that is, it is literally a lie when they say for this fee your funds will be available the next day.

I called into customer service and told them I'd like to cancel it. They credited me $25 and said that they would resend it to me. They guaranteed it be there by January 10th or 11th. It's January 13th today and it still has not come.
I called and tried to cancel the card but they kept trying to convince me to wait another week. After some strong words they finally agreed to cancel the card but said they could not close my account because I owed $50 of the $75 annual fee. After more strong words and refusing to pay they finally closed my account out at zero. I'm glad I did not proceed with the card and hopefully it's a bullet dodged.

They send me to 3 different departments and said I couldn't close it unless I paid the amount.
Eventually, I had to use the card which is the worst mistake ever. For one year I paid the monthly payments on time and more than the minimum payment. The balance did not go down. So the past year I made 3-4x the minimum payment and paid early. My last payment was suppose to be Nov 2016 for $56 but surprise they added $100 in fees. After 2 years of their horrible customers service, I am free of Credit One Bank. Standard bank payment takes up to 9 days to credit to your account. Express carries a $9.95 fee from debit card. With this card you "must" keep track and pay early or you will be late. For this reason I use the card and immediately pay off before getting a statement allowing plenty of time for payment to clear. Today I get an alert on my phone that my Credit One payment is due. Thought better check even though I paid off with zero balance. Logged on and discovered I had a balance due on the 5th. Made standard payment via bank as I normally do and noticed payment would not make it in time.
Figured why do I owe when I had paid off the card and was shocked with an $75 annual fee tacked on. No document in my portal showing I agreed on fee. No, I did not miss fine print as I get these offers all the time and throw in the trash can. Today I requested to close account and representative said he would give me a $21 refund to my account and accept my bank payment as of today. Red: **. Never missed a payment with Credit One but it's likely to be a first late payment on a charge that was never disclosed when I signed up account. My credit card information with them was stolen and they have not done anything about it. I reported my credit card info stolen in August 2016 and they asked me about the charges, what I paid for and what was not mine. Then, I was told there was an added authorized user, which they charged me 18.00 or so for, they told me the name of the person and that they also changed my address to somewhere in Florida. I told them I did not know this person and that I live in Indiana.
He then began to "change my address" to the right address and told me they are going to have to investigate this and it would take 30-90 days or something like that and in the meantime he will send me a new card with a new account number to my REAL address. So, after 30 minutes or so on the phone we hang up. After that I cut up the card, logged in online before they closed it on me and checked to see if my address was changed, it was not, so I had to change it myself. Then I waited on my new card.
A month goes by and still no new card, but they sent me a bill. I sent in a check to pay on my charges only because they still had the authorized user charge on there and whatever that guy charged on my account which I called them and informed them I still did not have my new card and those charges were still there. They said they would send my new card and those charges wouldn't be there. A month goes by and still no new card, but I received the statement and the charges were gone. Next month still no card and my bank account was charged by Credit One 999.99 or something like that. My credit limit was only 450.00 so how can I be charged 999.99 so my bank account was empty, but my bank got down to the bottom of it and my funds were returned eventually. Someone inside their bank stole my information and charged my checking account 999.99 to go to Credit One Bank or something like that.
Now, it's December and soon in a day or two it will be January 2017 and I am still without a card, but still receive statements and once I pay off my balance I'm closing this so called account. About two years ago I started to really take my credit seriously - I had a 450 score - I know right?! Anyhow - I started by paying off all the items on all 3 of my credit reports. Done. It sucked but I buckled down and did it. Then I got a Bank of America free student checking and savings account and got a 500 secured credit card which 6 months later at tax time I raised to 1000 dollar limit. (There are no interest rates on that card and it builds up your score really fast.) About 6 months later I started receiving card offers from every underbelly of the credit world and their brother's step kids! And I am ashamed to admit that I ignorantly fell for that and ended up with 8 credit cards! At the time before educating myself on this I thought more was better and would boost my score more. Again - I know right?! Despite all that I never to this day have missed one payment and my score is (or was) at 710 - a far cry from 450.
Credit One was the leader of the pack of underbelly credit! I lost my card once and ordered a new one after being with them for almost a year and a half - it never came. I ended up ordering a replacement card over 6 times over 6 months. Still never came. The card was paid off to a zero balance when I called to only reach yet again someone with an accent so thick I could barely understand a word they spoke. I requested the account be closed since they couldn't seem to get it together enough to send a customer with a paid off card a replacement. They closed it at a zero balance then sent me a new card which I received a month after the account was closed. I called again and said my account was closed and they could stop sending me any mail or emails and to take me off their call and mailing list. I still receive calls and mail and e-mails from them - nevertheless I checked my score and I was down 200 points!
Those idiot backwoods people put on my credit report that same card as closed with a maxed out balance! When I called irate to talk to a manager - same story - broken English - no clue what I was talking about. The only thing he kept saying was "sir your account is closed." I kept saying "I know it's closed - I'm the one who closed it you idiot! What I want to know is why is a paid off account showing up on my credit report as a defaulted maxed out account"! He could not give me an answer and requested that I send them a printed out copy of my credit report to a P.O. Box. Like that is going to happen - these idiots could not even get a replacement card to me after 6 months - absolutely not. Now I have to get a lawyer - or possibly join LifeLock in order to get it removed - I have had to go to my bank and print out 2 years of statements highlighting every payment made to them.
They are ruining my credit that I worked so hard to repair and I had to pay a double deposit on my apartment since because of them I didn't have a 620 or above score which I used to have. I am taking the bus to and from work and school because I can't get a car loan - and I was turned down for a new MacBook Pro laptop through Apple for school because you need at least a 600 to get approved. This company has wiped me out and I am now stuck back where I started until this gets resolved - and I still don't know what the effect will be on my credit report after it is off and if it will still be viewed as some negative smudge - we all know how credit is. They say it will be fixed but is it ever really. It is just a mess.
Have one thing go wrong and credit reports and collectors are up your bay within 24 hours - have something go wrong on your end and these companies take 6 months to a year to decide if you're worth their time to resolve something you didn't do. This whole experience has me just wanting to throw my hands up - maxed out my remaining cards and just saying screw it. The whole industry is just so shady and twisted. My advice - just pay cash and don't bother with credit cards - aside from that if you do wish to play that wicked game - DO NOT EVER use Credit One! They are shady - liars - thieves - and they ruin people's lives. I never thought that something like this would play out in my life as it has until it happened - I just can't wait to graduate and move into my profession and never deal with this kind of crap again. I wouldn't even give them 1 star unless I had to! Credit One... go straight to Hell!

I received a "Pre-Approved" offer from this company for a credit line up to $1500.00. Having worked in the credit card business for 15 years I know that there is a distinct difference between a Pre-qualified and a Pre-approved offer. Pre qualified means that I passed their pre qualified risk module and am being solicited to apply. A pre approval letter means that my credit has passed their risk qualifications and they are guaranteeing me a credit card with a limit up to the amount stated based on my "post qualifying" criteria. So in other words, they feel comfortable with the risk of offering me a card but need additional info to determine how much of a risk they are willing to take.
There were a couple red flags with this company. The first being their logo is a copy of Capital One. I thought I was accepting a pre approved offer from Capital One. Then after I completed the acceptance offer in my name which was auto populated from the approval code I entered, it returned a message with my 18 year old daughter's name saying they couldn't complete my offer at this time. So I called. This is where I realized it was Credit One not Capital One and they told me they needed additional information because the data entered didn't match the offer.
After arguing with the woman about the name and she said she couldn't fix the name and resubmit without documentation, she told me to go ahead and just apply again. I told that wouldn't work because The Approval code would show as already used. She said that this letter wasn't a guarantee of approval anyway, it was just an invitation to apply so just apply again without it". I told her no, I didn't receive an "invitation to apply" with a solicitation number or a "pre-qualified letter" with an offer number I received a "pre-APPROVED" acceptance letter with an "Approval code". She replied "At Bank One, those are all the same thing. No one is guaranteed an approval." That is false advertising and fraudulent behavior from a lending company. I don't know if I qualified or not. I told her to withdraw my application and add me to their Do not solicit list. Too many red flags with this company.

They send me a card - I activate it - and then 2 weeks later send me a denial letter that makes absolutely no sense. Who the heck is running this show? They say denied due to late payments on my credit reports - I haven't had a late payment in 4 years. I had to do a modification on my mortgage when my husband was out of work and didn't know that every month you pay the new payment ON TIME it gets reported as being late. That's another story though. So seriously who is running this show? My Discover has a $9200.00 limit & Capital One cards for $5000 and another for $4500. So you see I don't need this one with its $500 limit.

The interest rate is super high, and when you apply, you get charged like 75 dollars on a 300 dollar limit card. It also doesn't help that they look like Capital One with the logo and the name. This is by far the worst card I ever had, and I can't get rid of it.

This has got to be illegal or something... A card called CREDIT ONE... just straight sent me a damned Visa card w/ my name and all on it! I DID NOT APPLY or ASK or APPROVE THIS! I owe a hundred or two on it and they want $25 a mo pmt? My valid Visa is over a $1,000. And min. pmt. $20... The payment due date on this was before my pay bill day. How could that happen? They SET ME up for a late charge before my first pmt! So, I sent late pmt... explaining this and questioning their reputation and practices but wrote... I will NOT pay late charge so readjust.
They sent another bill, w/ two $25. pmts due... a $25. late fee... and a payment due date not adjusted to any fair timeline or in response to their business practice being responsible for all this... not me! I ain't arguing and hanging on phone! I sent letter w/ pmt and they still thinking they GOING to do THIS? I owe a HUNDRED right now and that's only payments on a little over a hundred?

This card company takes 10 business days to process payments and that's ridiculous. I went off 2 different bills on 11/18 at the same time and Credit One payment center that is supposedly in CA and my other payment to another company is in MI. I'm in NV... so how is it that my MI payment has already been received and cleared, but Credit One that is in CA hasn't been received.
Also, I used the additional 4 digits on the zip code when sending this payment. My hunch is that they hold onto payments and not process them when received. I always pay in full and way before payment is due. I would pay online but they charge 9.00. When this should be a free service to customers. I also found out their customer service is in India, so they outsource work. Their payment center is in CA, their complaint center is in NV, so why are we speaking to CS reps in India that never can give answers. All the departments on their websites have address no phone numbers except for the CS number outsourced to India. This is a fact because I asked and the rep told me they were in India. I think 10 days is an excessive amount of time to process a payment. Merchants give us due date, freak out and wanna hit consumers with tons of fees if you don't pay on time but when you pay ahead of schedule they don't apply funds right away.

I even took the time to call to find out where they got my name and - everyone's right - you simply can't get through. If it's impossible to get through when you're asking "application" questions, I can only imagine what happens when a problem arises. I could see the executives of Credit One sitting in a conference room laughing and cracking up that people are actually taking these cards out.

Credit One is the worst Company ever. I made a payment with my bank and somehow my payment got cancelled by Credit One or My bank. When I seen the payment was reversed I made the payment again and this time it went through. I call Credit One and they tell me they closed my credit card and I will have to mail a letter into a p.o. Box and somebody will give me a call and here it is today no call a whole week later. They took the second payment from the same account and still closed it saying I need to still send in papers showing my account but again still took a payment again from the same Account. They are a company that tell lies and nobody never knows what they're doing. I liked my credit card but I will continue to talk and leave reviews until this matter is handle correctly.

It was to be a "rainy day" card, and neither my fiance nor I ever took the card out of our billfolds. I then received a statement that had a $25 late payment fee, had a charge for $73.52 for a phantom purchase that was never made, and gave me a credit increase of $150, ALL ON THE SAME STATEMENT!!! THIS COMPANY IS NOTHING BUT A SCAM!!! They will not get another nickel of my money, I cut both cards in half and will be mailing them back. They can take me to court if they think I owe them anything. They can keep the $25 I already sent, but they'll get no more from me!

I have never really had an issue with his bank, other than their exorbitant interest rates, and all the extra charges that seem to pop up like Jack's in the Box... until recently. Priceline.com, stop it to put a bill on my credit card, that was not valid. After repeated calls to customer service, and getting nowhere, and speaking to people who barely spoke English, I went absolutely psycho.
I demanded to immediately speak to someone in corporate. I ended up speaking to a relatively nice lady, even though I wasn't at all nice. I told her that I was sick and tired of speaking to people who couldn't speak English. And that should she not have this charge that was not a valid removed from my account by the time my due date came around, that the same way they attempted to screw me without kissing me, I was going to do the same to them.
So, unbelievable, but within 48 Hours not only was the erroneous charge removed and credited to my account, but so was the replacement fee for the new card. My next move is this bank, is to reduce my interest rate, as well as my outrageous yearly fee. My once decent credit score Now sucks, but it is no fault of this particular company. It is because I had other cards who did the same kind of crap, and never credited my account for the hundreds of dollars that they either erroneously or fraudulently charged me.
So as a result, I did exactly as I told this bank I would do if they continued to try to make me pay for something that was not my responsibility, and I just simply stopped paying those bills. If you think this bank is bad, whatever you do, do not allow yourself to become involved with Verve, as they are straight-up mobsters and Loan Sharks pretending to be a bank. And oddly enough, Capital One literally screwed me beyond belief and thought I was going to just lay down and take it.

I just got this card, had it for one month. You can't ever log into the website, you can't retrieve any information. I never received a statement so I called in to find out what the issue was. Surprise surprise, a late fee! After reading all the complaints here, I decided to pay off the $67.00 in fees I had accumulated, although I never used the card, and close the account.
When I called, no one speaks good English (surprise again) and to my astonishment, Customer Service girl ("Daisy" - sure) refused to let me pay off the balance and close the account. My reason(s) were not good enough and she insisted that I keep the account open for a few more months. I told her no, I wanted it closed - I do not need a reason that fits her criteria. I asked for and received her ID number. She then continued to tell me she was keeping the account open anyway. After arguing for 15 minutes, I hung up and tried to start the process over with someone else.
It took 5 consecutive phone calls before I even got to speak to anyone. (The phone would just hang up after waiting on hold for 5 minutes.) When I was finally connected to someone I was told my account was already closed. I asked how they could close my account with a balance? I gave no payment information? The person could tell me nothing, only that the screen told him my account was closed. If you are looking to rebuild credit, please find another way - misery here.

Received a pre-approved credit with them and because their header is so similar to Capital One I made the mistake to get the card. Once I received the card I realized that it was not what I wanted because there was an annual fee of $75 and I didn't remember seeing that at the time I applied. So I called to cancel the card and at that time I also saw a $1.26 interest charge even though I had paid the charge timely. When I asked why the interest I was told that they charge an interest charge as soon as a charge appears in the account. With that said I cancelled the account.
That was on 10/13/16 and I was told it will be 30 days before I get the check. It has been now 38 days and no check. I have called 4 times with no success, actually on hold for about 15 mins to speak with a supervisor. Still no supervisor available. I have never had an experience like this with any credit card company and have been using credit cards for close to 40 years. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!

Do not apply with Credit One. They are nothing but full of lies. I made a mistake applying for this card. My credit line was 300. When I call to activate my card it charged me a 75$ making my credit line lower than it was. I downloaded their app onto my phone so I can keep track of my balance and make payments which I can't even log into. It keeps telling me my password is wrong which I know it was not so I couldn't make my first payments through there. I couldn't do it online either because it keeps telling me my password or user name is wrong too even when I reset my password a whole bunch of time and it says the same thing every time. So I tried calling the number on the back of the card but there's no real good payment options for you to pick from. I was able to call someone with really bad broken English to help me pay. She did such a horrible job.
After I was able to make my first payment I told her I want this card cancel. She ask me why I want it to be canceled. I told her why. She told me to stay on the line and she'll transfer me to a cancel specialist. I hold for ever and finally someone picked up. He ask me why I would like to cancel it too. I told her the same thing I told the last person. He then said he'll transfer me to a cancel specialist. I said "hold up I thought you were the cancel specialist? I was transferred from this other person to you." He said "oh sorry the other person probably made a mistake" so he also transfer me to another person which I had to be hold forever. Finally someone was able to help me cancel my card but it was not easy. If anyone want a good credit card I highly recommend Capital One. They are the best and I am happy to be with them. You can keep track of all your balance and statements and do all your payments through your phone or on their app.

I called Credit One customer support (actually I had to call the lost/stolen card number since they don't even have a true customer support number) to let them know that my 2 credit cards that I have with them were being declined. I was traveling so I assumed that was the reason for the declines which to me doesn't make much sense since they are not bank cards. You should be able to use your credit cards while traveling without having to notify them. So I let the customer service rep know that both of my cards were being declined, yet I was still seeing the transaction being processed on the online site.
I told her that none of the transactions went through and that I wanted them removed from the account. She told me that she would see what she could do. She placed me on hold and when she returned she told me that she would put a request in... and that was it. She didn't say, "oh no problem, these charges will be removed." She told me they were declined because I was traveling. I asked her if she could set both of my cards up for a travel notice and she said she would put a request in for that. So I asked her if she could reactivate my cards so I could continue to use them. She told me she would put in a request for that as well.
She also told me that I wouldn't be able to use my cards now for up to 48 hours. She didn't guarantee me that the charges were going to be removed and she was extremely rude to me throughout the entire conversation. I told her that I would be canceling both of my cards when I returned from vacation and she could care less. She didn't even ask if there was anything she could do to change my mind or help solve the issue. She just wanted to get off the phone. I must have been interrupting her facebook time.
I also had the same exact issue with Bank Of America locking my account because I was traveling and didn't notify them which is expected since it is my bank card. They sent me a text message with any easy reply option. I was also able to easily login to my account and setup the travel notice and unlock my account with zero issues with minutes. I would recommend avoiding Credit One at all costs. I would have sent a customer complaint right to Credit One Bank but of course they don't give you that option. Hmmm, I wonder why.

Well my husband got this cc two years ago to help his credit. From the start they were calling him days before it was due and had pay and still get late fees. Now for the fun part. We paid his card off like 200.00 5 months ago and they reported it three months later to the credit bureaus as a 500.00 balance when his balance has been a steady 0 as in we don't touch it anymore. So they said they'd fix that and report correctly.
Now this month they reported it as 770.00! So now on Equifax it shows he is over his credit limit and knocked him down 30 points! His balance is 0. I finally got a number to the main headquarters and hubby got in touch with the fraud investigator who said fraud had been going on within the company. She said she reported it again yesterday as our balance at 0. We close in a couple of weeks. If it's not updated by then then I don't see us even qualifying for a home loan anymore and we'll lose our earnest money. I beg anyone to stay far away from CREDIT ONE.

Not to mention they slam you with so many fees in order to make more money from you!
I Have had this CC for 1 year and they always seem to charge late fees! I'm never late but, sounds super fishy when they so-call "take your payment" and then it disappears thus, "Making you look late"!
