Crooks! Closed this account. They charged me for items I never authorized, I reported them to Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). I called this company to argue the charges. They stated that automatically the charges for credit protection was added without my consent. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! They credited me back, LIARS & THIEVES DECEIVING PEOPLE.

I started with Credit One approximately 2 years ago. If I could cancel these cards I would but it would hurt my credit more canceling these cards then just keeping a low balance. The start of my problems occurred when I deployed in back in April 2019. I had to mail in documents showing that I was deployed in order to lower my interest rate while I'm deployed. I had to do this because credit one doesn't have any email apparently. So customers cannot scan documents to this company. Anyways, I continued to mail in documents for the next couple of months and someone in their mail department kept either losing my mail or shredding it or threw it away. One time you can be okay with but 4 separate times is ridiculous.
I finally went home on emergency leave and had to hand walk my documents into their corporate building and complain about their mailroom. After these documents were received it took another 60 days for it to go into effect. After calling their customer service line which is, by the way, completely worthless because all they do is read from a paper because English is their second language, I was able to talk with account managers who kept telling me that they need to verify the information if military orders. I will tell you what. I also have a capital one card and I called them one day right before deploying and they verified everything over the phone right then and there that day and everything was handled extremely efficiently. If you want terrible customer service and when they transfer you to a manager, it sounds like the same person you just got done talking too. Then choose credit one. The worst credit card I have ever had.

On October 30th I paid a payment for November, however I was charged a late fee for November. When I called customer service about the issue they credited my account back the late fee. I asked the representative to close the account, she told me I needed to pay off the balance which I did in order the close the account. I was told that the 25 dollar credit would be mailed to me in 30 days. Today I had an odd feeling so I signed into the account only to find I had been charge 7.12 so I called customer service to find out what the charge was from, she said it was an interest fee???? How does a closed account incur interest. So I demanded a letter stating the account was closed and expected a refund. This is crazy and a scam. This company needs to be shut down.

I've had a credit card with Credit One bank for five years and never been more than a few days late, 3 or 4 max. This is because I pay with a ck. not online (old school). My credit bureau shows never past 30 in five years, and I always pay more than the minimum payment. My credit limit was only 1300.00 on this acct. and all my other accts are 5k to 10k limit so this a.m. I called for a credit line increase and the man was so rude stating that I've been late 4 times in the last 6 mo. which is total B.S. and when asked to speak to his mgr. he put me on eternal hold. I called back, paid my 200.00 balance and closed my acct. and will never reapply for anything with Credit One bank. I called American Express and opened an acct, instantly with NO credit limit, my credit was so good. 5 years I was with y'all and this is the way you treat me... NEVER AGAIN!!!

I received offer from Credit One Bank and got approved for 2k limit and when my card came they charged me for the whole year annual fee in advance. I paid that off without complaining and every month I pay my balance min 10-15 days in advance, but every month I still see balance on my account. When I call back to support they won't be able to explain it at all.
The terrible part is my score went down and on TransUnion report I see that the card has been reported as "closed by customer" and my 2k limit is gone. As always I called support. They mentioned that there was an error and they will fix but until now it is still the same. Credit one bank is still reporting false information to Credit bureaus. I am able to make transaction with my card and I pay off my balance but still the account is shown as "closed" on all credit reports. It has been like that 3 months now. Nothing has changed and they put me in debt every month for no reason. Way too many inexplicable hidden fees.

My only reason for applying for this card was to pay for work-related hotel expenses. They gave me a $200 cash advance without me asking for it, I returned it. I got a refund for a web site membership in July and had disputed the charge because I had received no response from the website's customer service despite several attempts to contact them. Paid the card off later that month and asked it to be closed. They informed me that I had lost the dispute and charged my card $160 on August 2nd without even telling me!!!
Started getting phone calls this week about $177.04 that I owe them apparently stemming from this $160 charge. They claim that since the dispute was denied, they charged my account the $160 because it was a temporary credit that was reversed. They never informed me that they were giving me a temporary credit, either via snail mail or posting it on my statement. The amount of this temporary credit, which was actually a credit issued by the WEB SITE that I had requested, isn't $160!!! The information they put on my statement for this charge is not truthful. They claimed the web site charged me the $160 when they actually charged me!! Spoke to customer service and he lied right to my face. I told him I have written proof that the $140 credit came from the merchant and not them. He told me to dispute the charge. I've filed a complaint with the Nevada Attorney General's office.

Stay far away! Terrible agreements with way better options out there. I applied for the card and was approved, after reading the terms I thought better and opted to not even activate the card, couple days later received my first bill. Lol got a bill before I even activated. Anyways called up to make sure my account was closed and the representatives couldn't speak plain clear English. They tried to up my credit line to keep me but I refused and asked to have my account closed again. He very quickly rambled something off in his broken English with an attitude, which I didn't understand, and as I was asking for verification that my account was closed he hung up on me.
Now I cant get back thru to anyone to make sure my account was properly closed. Now what?, Guess I wait and hope they actually closed the account. Terrible service for a terrible bank, these companies especially banks have no repercussions for their shady business practices, up to all of us to keep giving them the 1 star, although 1 star is actually being very generous. DO NOT GET SUCKED INTO THIS TRAP!

While I appreciate Credit One as a company willing to give credit to those with bad credit, a find it a MAJOR con that they downright harass you about late payments. I mixed up the dates on when payments were due on my cards and paid one a few days early, and was late on the other. I would have caught my mistake a few days later and paid it before it showed up on my credit history as late, but I wasn't given the chance. THE DAY AFTER my missed payment was due, I started receiving calls. I keep my phone's ringtone on while I sleep due to the nature of my work, and I received SEVEN phone calls between 8 am and 1pm ON THE SAME DAY.
I often work late nights and spend this time sleeping. When I saw the calls weren't from work, I continued to ignore them. Whoever was calling DID NOT LEAVE A MESSAGE so I assumed the 800 number was spam. Finally, I answered, furious and demanding as to who needed to get a hold of me so direly that they could not leave a message for me to call them back later, but instead insisted on blowing up my phone until I answered. It was a customer service representative who informed me that I was late on a payment and that I should pay immediately to avoid a derogatory mark on my credit score for a late payment. I informed the agent that I was trying to sleep for work and I'd look into it later when I woke up, but the woman INSISTED that I take the time to pay right then over the phone. I hung up on her.
And then I received another FOUR phone calls before the clock even hit 5 pm, all of them also without a voicemail. I eventually answered again, in a foul mood and demanding answers. When I figured out my mishap, I paid my $8 statement balance + a late fee. When I demanded to know why it was necessary to harass me about it with back to back phone calls and no voicemails, I received a non-explanation about how the company worries about the credit health of its customers.
The next month, it happened again. I nearly forgot to pay, but paid my credit card on the day it was due a little before midnight, and apparently it didn't register by 8am the next day in their system as payment pending. I was running errands after work when the phone calls started. I was so irritated to see that 800 number again that I ignored several calls (and - surprise - there were no voicemails from the caller). Eventually I answered and fought my case that I had sent in a payment the day before. The woman assured me that it wasn't in their system and did I have a confirmation number? I did, and gave it to her. She told me that the system may not have updated with it yet and that she would make a note for someone to check my account the next day and "reach out to me" if need be.
I honestly wonder if they harass people who make late payments JUST to give people more incentive to pay on time. It's not a tactic that I appreciate in the least. I've built up my credit since I first got this card, and I'm going to cancel it only because I cannot stand to be this harassed about a late payment. I try not to make a habit of paying my bills late, but when I do, I do not want to be hounded like this. I'd rather they just slap me with a late fee and let me deal with the fallout.

Open a credit card with this company to help rebuild credit. I have made two payments online using checking account information and both were sent back. This is the Credit One's bank fault not my checking information. I went ahead the first time and paid fees involved with that payment being returned figuring that maybe I entered something wrong in the information so instead of using my checking account I deducted the first payment out of my savings and paid the fees however when I went to make the second payment using my checking account again it did not go through again.
I called the company and depending on who you speak with is what information you get. No one is concise. No one is on the same page. No one actually follows through with what they say they are going to do so now I am having to go to my bank and get a verification letter from them stating that the account information that I entered is actually and correct. I have to wait 7 to 10 days for my bank to issue this by mail then I have to email credit one this verification letter and then once they have verified that this account the representative I spoke with this morning said that it would take 7 to 10 business days on their end to process it in the Interim on my credit report.
They have now closed the account so it is negatively impacting my credit!!! Be very leery of this company when doing business. They never do what they say they’re going to do and whenever it is their problem they do not take responsibility for it. I will get this card back open, Pay it off and then close out the account. You cannot trust a company that does business like this.

I have always paid Credit One Bank on time, out of the SAME checking account, although I always paid by debit card. I made an Express pymt. a couple weekends ago, but for the first time noticed the option was there for a direct payment out of my checking account (like PayPal offers), so that's how I paid. BIG MISTAKE. Though the payment WAS in fact deducted FROM my checking account WITH NO PROBLEM, my card was suspended until I provided THEM with a letter from my bank confirming that it IS in fact my checking account!!!
I could not believe they were harassing me in this manner. So two days ago I faxed them my bank statement proving I am the owner of the checking account out of which they were in fact PAID, and was LIED TO that it would take just 48 hours to unlock my card. I called today (2 days later) to find out the progress of unlocking my card, and NOW am told it will take 7-10 BUSINESS days! This organization is a JOKE. They GOT the payment--my bank would never have CLEARED IT if it weren't MY ACCOUNT; they've gotten one of my bank statements, and now they're going to diddle around for a couple weeks before they remove the suspension!!!

I have been asking to have an authorized user removed since 11/8/19. I was told on 11/8/19 it was completed, and I would receive a letter stating the user was removed. I called on 11/12/19 due to not receiving the letter and was told the user was still on the account and it had been a glitch and not to worry. They were fixing this and the user would be removed, and I would get a letter and to call back in a couple of days. I called 11/14/19 and was told the system is still processing the request and to give them a few more days and it would be completed. I was told to call back on Friday. I called back on Friday and they stated the user was still on my account and that they were closing my account.
I told them due to the bad customer service I did not care about the account being closed but nothing is to be reported on my authorized user as I requested them removed 11/8/19. I was told call back on Sat and they will send the letter that my authorized user has been removed. I called 11/16/19 and I am told it is still processing, their system is messed up and to give it until Monday. Well I check my authorized user's credit report and on 11/14/19 they placed on my authorized user credit report that the account is closed and my left over balance. I call them 11/17/19 and inform them they are reporting this and it is fraud due to I requested the user be removed on 11/8/19, 11/12/19, 11/14/19, 11/15/19, 11/16/19 and now 11/17/19 and they refused.
I was told by one manager that I have to call to corporate tomorrow but I was told by a supervisor that he was starting the process to remove my authorized user on 11/17/19. This is fraud period. I requested an authorized user removed and Credit One Bank is refusing to remove this user. This bank needs to be fined for fraud. I also do not care that they closed my account due to the fact they are mad because I am calling several times a day since 11/14/19, I want this authorized user removed.

I look at bank statement and Credit One withdrew that same payment twice, resulting in my account being overdrawn, if this was just a few dollars no big deal but almost 700 dollars. I instantly called credit one. Was told they only processed one payment, im like no you did two, was told to call my bank, i did. They gave me two trace id numbers and told to call credit one back and give them the numbers.
I tried 6 different times and they refused to take the numbers, i request someone in america and was told that was not possible, i finally got a better speaking person on the line and explained it all yet again, she at least too the numbers told me it will take 7-10 days to review it. I also faxed this a copy of bank statement showing what they did, I am still filing a dispute with my bank and hope credit one fixes it on their end, but once it's all resolved im cancelling my card. So done.

I applied for their credit card that uses the American Express system. Has a $39 fee but thought it was worth the fee to reestablish credit. I wasn't immediately approved, said they needed more information. Received a letter a little over a week later asking for proof of identity. I returned a copy of my driver's license and social security card as that is what was specified. Three weeks later I receive a request for w-2, pay stub & utility bill. At this point I feel like that are making me jump through hoops for what may turn out to be a $500 card with a sub rated bank. I think I will pass and am sorry I sent the other documentations. After reading other reviews, I'm glad I didn't get the card. Beware of predatory companies with terrible customer service. So I went to make a payment in October by phone. The automated system says, I had no payment due at that time. My next payment was due today, November 8th. I received a call from them earlier today saying I was 31 days late on my payment. Smh! They say my $30 payment wasn't enough and that I was supposed to pay $33 and some odd change. So they are saying it carried over to the next month. If this was true, why didn't the automated system say that when I tried calling to make the payment in October. Not only is this a bait and switch company. They give you low limits, charge extra fees to pay by phone, and they ruin your credit with their unscrupulous practices. All someone from the company needs to do is come here to see all of the complaints. The representative was neither helpful or fair. Neither was the supervisor. They should not be able to get away with ripping people off and ruining their credit. It is neither fair or right.

I just got off the phone with one of them and I must say I am so happy that my final payment is in the mail and my account is closed! I signed up and got a credit card from Credit One Bank. I’m having some issues with my credit and I was looking for ways to improve my credit score. They approved a credit card for me at A maximum amount of $300 however they do take $75 of that money right away so you’re basically only getting $225 credit line. I used the card because I was out of work due to no fault of my own for a short period of time. My first payment was due and I believe it was $25 that was the minimum balance. I didn’t have too much in my account so I paid $30 on the Credit One app. It showed that I paid the $30 on the app for several days. After realizing that the money was still in my account I went to the app and I was locked out and it said to call customer service which I did.
They said that my bank or the card that I used which is through my job denied the payment. Now I’ve paid bills, I’ve made purchases, I’ve taken money out with the ATM with this card and never had a problem until this Credit One issue. I ended up calling back the next day and the next person told me that I put a stop payment on the $30 that I paid. Why would I make a payment a couple days before it was due and then put a stop payment on it? It doesn’t make any sense and it never happened. I’ve spoke to several customer service representatives from this company and there was one man that said he was going to deal with this issue himself from now on however I never got his name that was my mistake.
I decided to pay a substantial Amount on what I owed Credit One because I wanted to show all payments in good standing and pay most of it down. After I made that payment and was waiting for the statement to come in the mail so that I could prove to them that I didn’t put a stop payment on the $30 payment and the bank never denied it either. I found out not only was I blocked out of the app but they shut my card off as well. I feel like they basically lent me $225 for a $75 fee and now I can no longer use the card and it has made my credit score go down substantially.
However I am still working with them and we will see the outcome but from what I have concluded after speaking with several customer service reps and explaining the situation it doesn’t seem as though they’re going to turn my card back on. The whole thing feels like a scam to me. I mean it’s one thing to charge a $75 fee because it’s usually people that have low or no credit that they give this card to but it’s totally different when you pay it before it’s due and they say that it’s the bank's fault or my fault when it is neither and I have proof of that which I am sending them. I doubt it will get me anywhere but the whole point of this was to help my credit score not to make it go down so in the future I know not to use these cards.
I can recommend that the Chime card which is just a prepaid card. It is not a credit card but it does not charge fees and if you go to certain ATMs it doesn’t even charge you an ATM fee and you can go right to local stores in your area And load money onto it for a fee usually under $5. At this point I would certainly rather use a prepaid card then be ripped off by a company that didn’t even give me a chance. The $30 was the first payment and then I basically paid almost all of it off but yet they still shut my card off and I highly doubt they’re going to turn it back on. Use your own judgment on which card you decide to apply for or use because even though it’s a legitimate card doesn’t mean they don’t do shady things. And maybe it wasn’t anything shady.
It may have just been something to do with paying the $30 online on their app. I was looking through and I see that there has been several problems with their app recently that it wasn’t working so maybe that’s what happened and I will bring that up to them but as of right now I would highly not recommend this card for anyone whether you have low or no credit. It’s not worth it because my credit score went down a lot And maybe it wasn’t anything shady. It’s not worth it because my credit score went down a lot just because of this problem. Any other reputable credit card company would have worked with me. I have a Capital One credit card and this would never happen with them. I closed and paid off my Credit One card 6 mos ago and opened a credit one card with a lower credit limit. I keep getting statements re: my closed acct monthly even though I've called and have proof in a letter they sent. I called yesterday to once again try to get this fixed. I called and had the same problem with a female rep I've had before with her rudeness. She wanted my full social security number in order to help me even though I gave her my last 4 digits, address, phone number and password. I've talked to other reps before who have been able to help with last 4 digits only and no credit card company asks me for my full SS # anymore just last 4. She stated she was then not able to help me without my full SS #! I asked to speak with a supervisor she put me on hold into utter oblivion because after 10 minutes no supervisor came on the line. Did she perhaps not want to get in trouble? I hung up and called back.
Talked to another rep who took care of the problem and asked me what happened. He put me with a supervisor who I must have interrupted polishing her broomstick because she was incredibly rude. She said she looked at the computer and said that rep said I gave no verification! I most certainly did. I gave it all and my last 4 but she falsified what really happened. The manager took her side. I have had the same problem with this rep before. I do think she's a scammer and I requested the recording of the conversation which the manager said it would take up to 30 days to retrieve. I always give my verification info but am never asked for my full SS #. A bunch of bull. Be very careful if you have a credit one card and never give your whole SS # to any customer rep. I am extremely concerned.

I have emailed and faxed all of the information asked for but I can never get a clear response and sounds if they are reading from a script.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS CARD AND THESE PEOPLE! I hate to be so unprofessional with my review, but I am beyond pissed off with this company. It's what I deserve after reading such bad reviews on the company and card to begin with and going along with it anyway. I needed a secured card. At the time, I didn't qualify for a Capital One Secured Card which was recommended. So I went with this 3rd world, back alley, shady, company. NEVER do it. I applied for the card. Honestly everything was going great up until the end. There was fraud on my card -- it was from Amazon, someone had charged the card over $200. Obviously I immediately called them and informed them of this. The only good thing they've ever done was issue me a "temporary credit" of the lost amount (which took almost 3 weeks to put through) and gave me a new card.
Everything was as it should be before last week, when I go to pay my bill, my card is nearly $200 higher of a balance than it normally is. I call them immediately and they proceed to tell me that the investigation concluded and that they found no fraud. So not only did I have to call them to tell me that, but they're dumb enough to believe I attempted to max my card out on some amazon purchases. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I told them that I refuse to pay any balance until that investigation was put through again and my credit was issued back onto my account. The guy I was talking to -- again, severe language barrier -- ended up hanging up on me after I said that. Can you believe the nerve of these people? I ended up calling back and telling them to cancel out my card.
Case in point, don't go with these shady-as-hell, agrabah type companies. Stick with something more practical like a Chase credit card or if you need a secured card, go with a credible one like capital one. These guys are so awful. The desperation is not worth it. Please, please don't go with this company, for your own sake!!!

DO NOT CHOOSE CREDIT ONE CREDIT CARDS!
2. Their Customer Service is fraudulent and incompetent. Their employees are trained to say "I'm sorry" to ANY complaint a customer makes, but no matter how valid that criticism, they do absolutely nothing to correct the original problem.
3. If you pay off your entire balance -- they STILL charge the customer the APR on any transactions that occurred after the last statement.
FOR EXAMPLE: Your billing cycle for the month ends on the 26th of every month. On the 27th, you see that your total balance for that month (after adding your monthly APR and your pro-rated monthly annual fee charges) is $125. On the 28th (two days after your billing cycle closed) you make a purchase for $25. On the 29th you send Credit One an electronic payment from your checking account Bill Pay system for $153 ($125 for all charges shown at end of billing cycle on the 26th PLUS the entire amount ($25) which you purchased on the 28th AND a small additional amount ($3) to make sure you zero-out your balance. That payment is electronic, so it is processed that very night and Credit One sees your payment (credit) on the 29th.
You call Credit One on the 30th and you CANCEL your credit card. Because your electronic payment on the 29th was immediately credited, Credit One sees that you do not owe them anything AND you actually have a $3 credit because you overpaid what you owed. Even though you have paid your ENTIRE balance and they have cancelled your credit card -- Credit One tells you that they will NOT immediately refund your overpayment of $3.00. Instead, Credit One continues to charge you their outrageously high APR. Why? Because of that $25 purchase you made on the 28th (2 days after your previous billing cycle ended).
Furthermore, if you call Credit One, their employee will tell you that Credit One will NOT send you any refund of money due to you for 30 days! Why? Because this is a DISHONEST company which gouges customers for every penny they can get. Notice that payments BY a customer are processed immediately BUT any credit for a customer overpayment is deliberately (as a matter of bank policy) delayed for 30 days.
Lastly, there is no such thing as "Customer Service" by Credit One Bank. Their automated system is designed to make it as difficult as possible for a customer to get any kind of direct human assistance. Furthermore, no matter how much information you give to their employees (including the info you must first input into your phone BEFORE you can even speak to a human being--assuming you figure out how to reach a human), they still ask for ALL that same information again. Their "Customer Service" reps are robotic idiots that NEVER engage common sense or good judgment.

I new the expiration on the card was coming up and had received a letter about my new card and if I didn’t want a specialty card my new card would be coming in a few months. I didn’t think anything about it. I always go back on to make sure my payment was credited and noticed the available credit was $0. I thought that’s not right so I pulled out my card and saw that it had just expired. I called customer service to have the new card sent and was informed that the bank had closed the account. So I inquired as to why it would be closed. The representative told me that I hadn’t used the card in a couple of months and wasn’t paying enough over the minimum payment so they closed the account.
I ask them have I ever missed a payment, been late on a payment or gone over my limit his response was NO because I haven’t. So I said, "You are punishing me for making my payments on time for the last three years." I ask to speak to someone in the department that makes these decisions. He sent me to a supervisor who informed me that it is done by a computer. That they have too many customers to have people reviewing those things. So I ask the supervisor is there some type of negative report on my account. Again, "NO. I applied to Credit One Bank last year, trying to build my credit. At the time it gave you a $300 credit limit and there no signs of the added fees to the card. I spent a good portion paying for groceries and helping getting my car fixed. Now as I mentioned, the credit limit is meant to be $300. What they don't inform you of is the $75 fee, just for making your first purchase. So at the end of the first month, I owed $325, because of the added fees and interest. I tried to contact Credit One to receive some answers. You soon find out that the "company" is a scam company where they and certain other "companies" will give you the opportunity to receive a card but charge you almost 150% in interest just for making that first purchase. They also charge you $99 a year, over the year.
I actually cancelled the card at the end of the first month. Did that stop the continuous amounts of charges? No it did not. The amount I owe now is $545 and this is while I'm only able to pay $25-$30 a month. I am also on Social Security Disability, so I can't afford anymore. I am also bombarded with non-stop calls as to when I can pay the amount off. The amount they charge is $100+ a month for a payment and since I can only pay $25-30 month, I'm given an extra fee and there is also a purchase charge. For what I have no idea. I don't know if I will ever get out of paying this scam. I would love to have a class action lawsuit against Credit One Bank. My credit score has dropped even further. Avoid this at all cost

I have credit around 650 and am working on raising it so getting a credit card. This company sent a letter saying I was preapproved for $2000. I got the card and it has a limit of $425 credit and $125 cash advance. They charge an annual fee up front of $75 on the first billing cycle plus $19 to add an extra card (for my daughter). I spent around $400. And went to check payment due date from the customer service number on the card. They said I owe $535.41. I checked online to view my statement for transaction history but it only showed the $94. No transaction history and didn't explain that charge either. The representative I talked to next from the customer service number said she didn't know why my transaction history wasn't showing up. That I needed to call the tech support on Monday. Closed weekends. I decided to call back and just pay since it's due on the 18th. Which is weird also since the billing cycle ends on the 22nd.
They have some weird stuff here I'm guessing as a way to charge extra fees if people think they need to pay on the end of the billing cycle, which I thought, until I called. When I went to call and pay by phone they only offer an express payment option at a cost of $9.00. I asked if I could just make a normal payment without the fee, and she just did a one time payment without fee. She also gave me actual useful information. Transaction history is listed in the overview section on the website. I am charged a DAILY average balance interest of 18%. I was going to pay before the due date to avoid interest charges, not gonna happen. Annual interest rate is an additional 26%. This card will help me gain credit. Not many other banks would have given me a card. However, I will be canceling as soon as my score goes up enough to get out of the extremely heavy fees they charge. It is ridiculous.

HIGH INTEREST RATES: I would not recommend this card. It was easy to get, but the interest rates and credit protection charges are high. So, it's really hard to get ahead if you're trying to pay down your balance. For instance, after 6 months of making just minimum payments, I only paid down $150 out of $1,500 total.
SLOW PAYMENT PROCESSING: There are two ways to make payments. The standard payments are free and will deduct from your checking account in about a day, but it will take up to 7 business days before it will become available to use on your card. There is an express option, but it costs $9.95. The upside is that you can also use a debit card to make a payment. The downside is that only $100 dollars of your payment will reflect immediately on your card's balance. You still have to wait up to 7 business days for anything above that amount to show up.
DECLINES LARGE PURCHASES: You might have issues making large purchases at your local retailer, even if the store is in the same city as your billing address. For instance, I went to make a $700 purchase at Walmart, which is only about a mile up the road from where I live. The card was declined, which was embarrassing enough, and when I called the customer service line, they said it was a security measure and that my funds would be released in the next 15 minutes. I didn't wait; I just used another form of payment. From that point forward, I only used my Credit One Bank card for small and insignificant purchases, because I wanted to avoid having my card suspended at a time when I might really need it.
POINTLESS ACCOUNT VERIFICATION: Occasionally, you will be asked to verify your bank account information before you can make any further online payments. This is very frustrating, because you have to wait up to 10 business days for the credit card company to make two small deposits into your checking account that you then must verify online before you can access the payment portal. I had been using the same checking account for over 4 years, and this happened after I made a payment twice in a 30 day time span.
I spoke to customer service, and they claimed this was a fraud protection measure for my "security," even though I have never experienced this with any other credit card. Usually, most reputable card companies don't discourage their customers from making online payments. Legitimate fraud protection measures are usually meant to protect people from fraudulent purchases, since most "bad guys" aren't going to waste their time paying your bills for you. So, I reject their reasoning in this particular case.
POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE: All of the phone agents I have spoken to have foreign accents, which may be frustrating for many U.S. based customers. I actually found them quite easy to understand, but the fact that you're talking to somebody who sounds like they're not in the United States may decrease your overall confidence in the card company and its employees. For instance, when I asked this person a question about the unnecessary bank account verification, it was clear to me that he was reading from a script and wasn't really interested in hearing why I was frustrated. The phone agent's constant interrupting to tell me that he "understood my concerns" was proof to me that he really didn't understand them at all. Ultimately, I don't spend on this card at all. I'm in the process of paying it off and then I will close the account for good. I will never get another card from this company, and I suggest that others do the same.

Once I opened the account and provided my banking information they did the usual account deposit and withdrawal and ask you to verify the amounts. I did that online. My account was still suspended. I called and was informed that I was late on a payment, mind you that I had yet to charge anything on the account. So I provided my bank account information and they accepted the payment. My account was still suspended.
I contacted customer service and was informed that the information I provided to verify my banking information was not complete, even though they processed a payment with my account. So by this point I have made payments for a card that I hadn't even used yet. They informed me that I needed to go to my bank and get another letter of verification and that it must include the deposit and withdrawal amounts. I explained that I am disabled and that I was unable to go through the runaround again since they already had all of the pertinent information and had used my bank account for a payment. I informed them that I was very unimpressed with the company practices and that I would inform the BBB of my displeasure.
So they put me on hold to talk to a supervisor. I talked to the supervisor and relayed the same information. They wanted me to talk to another supervisor and put me on hold again. Well I talked to the individual and repeated all of the information once again. That person gave me the same runaround and told me that they needed another letter from my bank for verification. By this point I had made all payments that were due on the account (just membership fees, I had not been able to use the account at all) and they informed me that my account was closed and would consider reopening the account. Are you kidding me, why would I want to do business with a company like them. So now I have paid membership fees, never got to use the account, and it is closed. I used the card for ONLY one purchase which was an Uber ride home from work on a Wednesday. So Friday I called to make a payment. The lady told me my balance is $83.06 for an Uber ride that cost $8.06 so I'm paying $75 dollars a month for a credit card that's **. So I paid the money owed and closed the account I would never get a credit card from an unknown company again. And I tried setting up an online account but there website had an internal problem I found out by calling customer service and spoke to their tech department.

Credit One charges you a yearly fee. This I did not see prior to getting card - my fault not theirs as it is in the fine print - but once you have the card you get the charge regardless if you decide you do not want the card. So I figure, my bad, and I pay the fee. But then I get billed 1.31 for interest on the 75 dollar yearly fee. So I pay the total once again. Now I have yet to use this card. I don't even want it but I am stuck with it so I will make it the emergency card. So I paid the yearly fee in full. I paid the interest on the yearly fee in full. Today I get billed yet another 75 dollar yearly fee. I try to contact their customer service but I get dead air. Now what? If I do not pay this extra fee my credit (which I am trying to improve) will take yet another beating. This is not good. Not good at all. Set up for failure is what it is.

As I was giving him the information his the tone of voice change when I was trying to give him my password which I thought was unusual. Finally, I told him that I wasn't too happy with his poor service, he apologized several times and I requested someone else or a manager, instead, he assumed that I speak Spanish and he ended by transferring to the main menu where there was Spanish assistance.
I thought it was rude, for him to do that when I do not speak Spanish. I have to reconnect again and spoke to another gentleman who had a very heavy accent and could not get my account number. I became agitated however, he was able to help me after repeating myself several times. Asked for a supervisor and both of these individuals refused to let me speak to them.

This bank is fraud they apply false service charges late fees and lie. I caught them then they removed the charge but that is not good enough. These unfair lenders need to be stopped. I was charged 60 annual fee the same day I paid off any balance on the card then 10 days later I was charged a 28 dollar late fee but before that they suspended my card. They said due to non payment but the card was paid in full. Then customer service proceeded thru 3 managers and in the end the guy was yelling at me. I told him to cancel the card and they back tracked. Finally I got it cancelled but they still charged me an annual fee even though I paid the fee in the beginning because they gave me 600 credit but charged the fee to the card so my available credit was only 510 dollars. What a freaking burn.

I was approved for a credit card with Credit One Bank almost three years ago. It was great to be able to qualify for a credit card after being declined by almost every other bank due to my low credit history. However, I am dissatisfied with the level of customer service. You are unable to call in and reach a live agent who can assist you with your account. Their online portal is very outdated and has limited functions. When making payments, it can take an entire week for your available credit to increase. You are charged interest regardless if you pay your balance in full!

I would not recommend this card, there are other cards that are similar that I got and have no problems. Fairly easy process to get the card, and very useful to have a card to rebuild credit, but after using it for months and making payments, once I used my bank account to pay instead of their high-fee debit payment option, they froze my account and require a bank verification letter to prove I am authorized to make payments from my own bank account? Keep in mind there is no problem with my payments clearing, but for some reason they said they think another family member is making the payments?
That makes NO SENSE because I don't have family members, and the account is in my name, so who else would make the payments, ridiculous! 72 hours before they will answer me if they even received the fax, and then 7-10 business days to validate my letter before they will lift the suspension on my account? When I told my bank what this credit card company is asking for, they said it is shady because there was no problem with the payment from my own account. I read other people's internet posts about this same problem, and I hear that after the 7-10 days they will close the account and mark it as "Bank closed card". We shall see.

When you call, they may offer an explanation of "There was a temporary hold for suspicious behavior", however they can't tell you why it was suspicious. It's difficult to understand some of the reps' dialect which makes the call even more frustrating. If I am in my hometown trying to make a $30 purchase and have over $2000 of available credit, I need to know why my card was declined, in detail. Not just that they will now remove the hold. We got this card to build my husband's credit. They charge you an annual fee but they break it up into monthly payments so you'll never truly carry a zero balance. Not to mention they charge you interest on that fee. A couple months ago my husband lost his card and it was found and used at a local gas station. We disputed the charges, got our money back and all was good. Until we got our new cards in the mail. I activated them only to discover that our cards were used again at that same gas station for the same amount as the first fraudulent charge.
So here we go again, calling Credit One to get things resolved. They credited us back the charge and sent out new cards once again. But this time I never activated them. I left them in the envelope and put them in a desk drawer. Today I saw that those same charges from the gas station appeared again but twice! How could these fraudulent charges keep following us from card to card if the company supposedly took care of it? Bunch of bull. Can't wait to get rid of this card!

I have 2 cards thru this bank. Had no problem until I made a second payment on one this month, I thought that would be a good thing? But since I had already made one online, pay all my bills online. It said that I could not make another payment until I verify my checking acct. again? I thought this was strange but it gets much worse. So I entered the 2 small deposits they made in my acct. And it said my acct. was verified. Now I can make another payment so I did, it just so happened that I had some extra money this month and wanted to pay down some debt. So I made the 2nd payment. When I checked my checking acct. I saw that they took out 3 payments instead of 2. So I call them, always get the same man I can hardly understand and it seems like he's the only 1 who works there.
Anyway I told him the problem and he told me, "Sorry the payments have all posted, nothing I can do." So I called my bank and told them I made 2 payments and they could see that there were 3. I told them that I only made 2 payments so they said they would investigate and reversed the 3rd payment. Went to log into my visa acct and it's frozen, no access. Then get an email from Credit Karma that an acct had been closed. I called and tried to reason with this guy, told him I have a 2nd acct. that I'm locked out of and he had to get his supervisor who sounds just like him and had me do a 3-way call with my bank to verify the other acct and payment.
But that didn't cover both cards which I pay from the same checking acct. So they want a letter from my bank on their letter head saying the acct is mine and so many other things he wanted from me I couldn't keep up writing it all down. Gave me a fax # for the bank, I'm not ok with faxing that and it cost me $10 to get the letter. They also want me to write a letter explaining what happened even though I told him and his supervisor! Everything they put on my credit report was wrong, date closed, didn't show the 2 payments they got. I have every bill set to electronic delivery. I asked how am I suppose to see my acct, how much I owe due date. He insisted that I get a paper bill or I have for the last 2 months, false. They are harassing me with letters that they are going to ruin my credit all over making an extra payment!
I'm so upset and stressed out, I don't know what to do. I need help! This is awful to do to someone trying to better their credit. If I had the money I would get an attorney, this is a crime what they're doing to people! So I started looking over what statements I had downloaded wondering how these cards I haven't had long are maxed out! A $60 annual fee turned into $120. So who knows what all mistakes there are when they freeze your account but have actually closed it without notice and all for nothing. Had I known I would have never ever chose this card. I'm at a loss, I have no idea what to do. I'm just sick over this. Throwing away money I don't even have. Someone seriously needs to investigate this company and shut them down. There should be a big law suit for all they've done to innocent people.

They'll also have "unexpected" online site issues around the time your payment is due. In the end, you can call and get the fee credited off but they activate these quirks to take advantage of suckers who are looking to desperately build credit. The rep I spoke to the first time said the reporting bureau put a mandate on them to bill the annual fees monthly. I called TransUnion and Equifax (the bureau they report to) and I was told they don't impose these type of rules on the credit card companies. I called them back and demanded a better explanation. The second rep told me it's because they are trying to create an activity for me, so they have something to report to the credit report bureau every month in case I have a zero bal. (I want that zero bal!) I asked if that can be changed and if I have an option not to have my annual fees billed in installment all year long. He put his supervisor on the phone and she told me the same thing.
She said it's because they are a credit building company. I'm submitting a complaint because the whole system needs to change. They need to give consumer options of 'building credit' by paying the annual fee in installment. Not mandate it on everybody. It makes managing your credit card when they insist on managing it for you. Also, they charge you to increase your limit.

I got my first unsecured credit card with Credit One Bank. For the first couple of months everything was fine. I paid my balance off in full. When I tried using the card they had suspended it. When I called they told me I have to send them my information in the mail. They also suspended access to my account where I can't even make online payments. I will never send payments through the mail so I now have late fees and derogatory remarks on the account. I honestly got so frustrated I let the account go delinquent. I plan on paying it off but they make it near impossible to do so. I don't recommend anyone get this card! They have no problem taking your money and then closing your account!

In March of 2018 I did use their card and needed to dispute a car rental for $449.63, they made me jump through a bunch of hoops as though I was the criminal and they still haven't refunded my money! I had to write a complaint to which they responded with phone numbers to reach them and the numbers aren't even valid! The letter they sent me with the wrong numbers also stated that they needed the following information and the information that they needed was left blank. I have tried numerous times to contact them and only get someone in the Philippines who I can't understand, I should have used my Capital One card or my Discover card, needless to say... Well I don’t really know the answers to those questions because I do everything online so now they want me to mail a copy of my driver's license and a copy of my paper statement. Unsafe and data issues with no authentication and compliance failure. Maybe not regulated in the Philippines. Be cautious and do not call the number on the back of the card. I have my phone call recorded and it is unsafe to operate with this company. I have had a card for a year and never had a problem paying or accessing my online account. Until I had made a payment that wasn't even due for 5.00 and on the same day my bank notified me of fraud and stopped my debit card to protect my information. I called and let the Credit One rep. know of situation and they said, "No problem. Thanks for calling."
I got my card a week later for my bank to pay and come to find out my account has been closed and no one will give me access to a bill or send me a bill to verify amount. They want me to wire them money or give them my information over the phone. The rep mentioned that they would provide me with a confirmation number but I cannot confirm the location of where it is sent to due to no access online or a phone number in the U.S. to call and speak to someone who can verify a employee number or a phone line that is secured.
This is horrible and very concerning not only for me but maybe the people who have had their personal information leaked out. We have to mandate and get compliance on board in order to abide by federal regulations. Who can I speak to about this matter? I can't verify amount owed nor will they send me anything unless I pay them over the phone or Western Union them. My credit is in the hands of the unknown. Please contact me as soon as possible. Credit One Bank defrauds its customers. Credit One Bank defrauds its customers more than any company I have ever come in contact with. Not only do they misappropriate your payments to accounts not currently open in your name, but they allow fraudulent charges to your account with no help to remove them. They charge you interest on top of those fraudulent charges, and even block access to your account. When you write to file a complaint, you are forced to do it on their social media sites, since they do not respond to any email correspondence. When you voice your opinion online, they block your comments. Their reviews speak for themselves.
This company cannot be trusted. Their CEO Robert DeJong should step down, or else there will be lawsuits coming his way for all the customers they prey on. Currently I have a $2500 payment that they have not credited to my account, yet they drafted from my bank account immediately. My card is blocked and I have no access to view it, and they have not resolved nearly $400 in fraudulent charges from 4 months ago. This is a BAD company to do business with.

I applied for this card about 2 years ago just to up my credit score. Up until December 2018 I had no problems with this card and was even given a few credit line increases. But alas, in Dec of 2018 my card was compromised {stolen}. A bunch of online unauthorized purchases occurred, I contacted their credit card fraud dept and was told that they would investigate the fraudulent charges and in 90 days a decision would be made and I would not be held liable. 115 days later they closed the case and are holding me accountable for these fraudulent charges. I was told I needed to file an official police report and they would send me the transactions from Dec 2018 to present. They did send me transactions but only for the month of March 2019.
They also sent me another person's fraud claim stating that they too would be held liable for fraudulent purchases. They are a very disorganized and a dishonest company and to me it appears they will always side with the big companies rather than the customer. So if you decide to be part of their consumers, I highly recommend DO NOT do it. It is not worth the monthly fee and if your account is compromised they will not side with you but rather the company that claims you did make the purchases regardless of facts.

I was really in the negative comments on this site about Credit One, but I have to say I have never had any issues with that and I’ve been with them for about two years. People have to realize they are a small company and although I don’t necessarily agree with some of their fees they have to charge these fees for the company to grow they are not some huge company like Capital One or Chase. One thing people need to realize is they give credit cards to people with bad credit like myself. After my divorce my credit was ruined and nobody would give me a credit card except Credit One.
My only issue is every time I have called customer service it is someone with a heavy accent that I have a hard time understanding but they’ve always been able to handle my problem. They raise my credit limit out once and did not charge me for the increase. It’s only $450 but I came into this card with really really bad credit. Yes they are expensive yes they charge high interest but all this is explained in their terms and conditions. I love how people accept these terms then start blasting the company or year later like it’s the company‘s fault if you don’t like the term’s donuts up the card if you didn’t read the terms that’s your own fault. I’m happy with Credit One.

My terms and conditions state that I should expect a $39 annual fee for the card, which today I was told is actually $70. It's really disheartening how corporations such as this lack of integrity in the way they handle business, particularly with those building or rebuilding credit. It's becoming more common that these enterprises are exploiting those who are trying to get things right or back on track, for their corporate gain, and unfortunately, the government is in support, as they are LEGALLY allowed to include clauses that waive your right to arbitration. The FBI should be investigating companies like THIS, on a regular basis.

When I talked to the person on the phone she insisted on reading off every charge to me, as if I was going to add it all up in my head, and continued to insist that my payment hadn't posted. Then she said that even though it had posted, I still wasn't going to have it actually available until three days later.
I asked if the website had some different notation for the payment for when it ACTUALLY was cleared, since "posted" apparently doesn't mean it's been posted, and I didn't get a good answer. When I started to rebuild my credit, Credit One was the third card I applied and was approved for. They started me with a decent credit limit - for someone with very limited credit - of $500. After being with them a little over a year now, no missed or late payments, keeping a fairly high utilization rate, paying more than the minimum each month, and then paying it completely off with my taxes in one chunk and then leaving it be for the last month - I signed in today just to check on things, I was surprised to see 2 more offers than normal. Curious, I checked to see what they were and one was for a credit limit increase (which was approved immediately for another $200, raising my limit to $700) and the other was a pre-approved offer for a MasterCard because of my "good behaviour".
I was a little unsure at first, knowing it would be a hard pull (which actually hasn't shown up yet, but we're still less than 24 hours in) and I've worked really hard to get my credit to where it is now (started this credit repair journey around 550 or so and am now at 702 with 14 mixed accounts) I decided to take a chance and submitted my application... Within 30 seconds I was congratulated and approved for an $800 MasterCard! That's up a $1000, for a total of $1500 between both cards! (On a side note - I also got approved for a Discover It card with a $2500 limit - my biggest yet - just prior to this for a total of $4000 in less than 24 hours!) Overall I'm very satisfied with Credit One, and very grateful they took a chance on me when not many others would. So, Thank You Credit One! And to everyone else -YES, I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS CARD - if you're serious about rebuilding your credit responsibly, Credit One can help you achieve that goal! :)

I got this card to help rebuild my credit. I would only use it for small purchases mostly and pay it off every month. In April I was getting BOMBARDED by phone calls form an *$$ number and looked it up to see it was credit one Bank which was odd because I had paid my balance at the end of Feb. I log on to my account and noticed it says I am past due with a $12 balance ($6 of which is a late fee). Evidently they charge you interest EVEN if you pay your balance off AND that interest charge is not reflected in your online total until your next billing cycle. I made a purchase at the beginning of Jan for $400, they charged me $6 interest the middle of Jan but did not include it in my online balance until I paid what it said was my entire balance on Feb 22. Consequently they hit me with a late fee on the "unpaid" interest.
Most cards if you pay your balance in full you avoid paying interest. Not only is this NOT the case with these criminals BUT they have practices in place to INTENTIONALLY make it impossible to know what your balance actually is leading to excessive fees. I got a credit card form them last year, with an authorized user (my wife). I never used the card, got a bill for $26 for annual fee and authorized user charge! After paying it, and never using the card, I called them and told them that I wasn't interested in the fees or the card. Cancelled it, they said that they would prorate and refund the money. This was 6-8 months ago. They still haven't given me the money and it appears that they will not. It isn't the $ amount, it is the principle of the matter. They are crooks and I highly recommend AVOIDING THEM IF AT ALL POSSIBLE!!!

My bank has no records of the payments being attempted, their Reps called bank to verify funds available & the account information. Last month I paid $50 using the same account info and that payment went through fine. I'm convinced they are not processing payments so they can charge more fees.

This bank is a total and complete rip off in my opinion. I signed up for a credit card with them and 7 times out of 10 when I attempt to pay my bill online their system is either down or they have without my permission added some random deposit to my account. If they add a random deposit you then have to find this deposit amount and verify the amount in the system. Until you do this it will not let you pay your due balance. Problem is sometimes the amount has not posted in your bank account yet, therefore you cannot verify it. Therefore you are then late making a payment. Then they slap you with a late fee.
Even if the system is just down and a representative walks you through online to pay your bill and realizes that it is TOTALLY CREDIT ONE'S system that is down they will offer to let you pay it via phone for a fee. Really a fee??? I was so irate that they waived the fee after me being on the phone with them for a half hour and speaking to 3 people. This should not be. They are HORRIBLE! DO NOT accept any credit card offer from this bank, even under any circumstances!

My payment was due on February 26th. I paid my bill on February 26th. Expedited the payment so that it would be posted. Paid $9.90 to do so. All day I was trying to post it on the internet on their payment portal which was not working. When I finally was able to call them I paid my payment. I expedite my payment. I look at my account this morning and they charged me a $25 late fee on top of the fee to expedite my payment so I wouldn't get a late fee. They are committing fraud to tell me if I expedited the payment I wouldn't get a late fee and then to turn around and give me a late fee when I paid the payment on the due date. This company is out to take people's money and I feel that as a consumer something needs to be done about this.

Finance charges 24.99 percent, and they have 5 contact numbers for customer service, and with none of them can you reach a real "live" person, which means if you want to cancel it, you have to figure out how to reach them (no phone contact or email contact to reach customer service). I work as a bookkeeper at a vehicle dealership with a separate service center. This card is the one we got for the service center. It literally takes 3-4 days for authorizations to post as actual transactions. Then you make a payment through a website that does not work more than it does, and then it takes another 5-6 days for those funds (that have long cleared your checking account) to be available for use. To remedy that, I sent in several payments ranging from $300-$1000 to the payment address and those payments cleared our checking account yet the card is getting declined. We have almost a $3000 credit balance plus available credit and the card is yet again getting declined. Our shop manager ended up getting declined at several vendors and I spent an hour on the phone with their so called customer service.
They are VERY nice on the phone, but please STOP apologizing for the 'unfortunate situation', just confirm the charges are legit and allow us to use the card. I have been transferred to several departments, to their fraud department, verified payments mailed in, verified ALL our vendors that are authorized to charge the card, authorized users, spoke to supervisors and still nothing. So currently we are overpaid by $3000 and are not allowed to use the card. The CSR told me it was because the 2 large payments take 5-6 days to clear. (They cleared the checking account the day after the pmts were received). It makes no sense. They cannot explain WHY the card is getting declined. She said there is a lot of fraudulent charges coming from Autozone. Steer clear from this.

I have had a credit card with this company for some time. I rarely use it. I noticed that there were large monthly fees and a high interest rate on the balance. Last night I decided to pay the balance in full. That transaction went through. Then I told the person on the phone that I wanted to close the account. She did that (as far as I know). Then she said they were going to issue a charge off on my account. I had to look up the term after the call. It means they are writing off a balance owed because they are unable to collect. At the time she issued this, I owed nothing. This strikes me as “punishment” for closing the account. I read that a charge off you record lasts 7 years! I think there should be some sort of punishment for a company that decides to damage your credit rating out of spite! Stay far, far away from this vindictive company!!

Few days later I received a letter with my ex’s info, his cell phone number that it was opened up with, who the phone was registered under which was someone else. Even though my name did not come up in this evidence they still did not take it off or close the account. Now these charges are still on my credit. I have no words, very upsetting, so upsetting. BY all means, please avoid this credit card company. I initially applied and received card in an effort to rebuild my credit after a bad divorce. Started off good for about 2-3 months, then their shenanigans started. I made an online payment through my checking account at another bank and next thing I know, I was charged for non-sufficient funds, AND A LATE FEE which was a lie because I have direct deposit and KNEW money was in there before I made payment.
When I called to dispute, they told me MY CHECKING ACCOUNT THAT I JUST PAID THEM with had been closed! WHAT!? It was not. Even told them that I have the statement showing they took the payment. Even after sending (mailing) proof, they never took the suspension off, I still get payment notifications, but the app will not allow you to pay and then they charge you late fee AGAIN! I told them I wanted just pay my bill and close the account. Which I did, then they called the credit bureaus, gave me a negative mark and my score dropped 42 points for a mid 600's score. Avoid at all costs. All my months of credit rebuild was wiped away just from dealing with this company. So regret it now and the worst part is, I was paying the bill on time and without problem until the old "your checking account was closed"... What a scam!

All bank charges were dismissed back to normal then I got a call from Credit One saying they were adjusting account to add 75.00 to it for my trouble and they would adjust Visa account as well. They did that and it took 24 hours and I think it was a great gesture on their part. Above and beyond.

My payment due date is the 4th. I made an online payment of 46.00 on the 1st. On the 10th I went to check my bank balance. I was 400. overdrawn because not only was the 46.00 on the 1st taken out there was a 509.95 payment unauthorized by me taken out on the 7th. 9.95 was for express payment. Which I never make. They said, "Oh we will do an investigation. Will take 30 to 60 days." Lol I kept going up the line and they told me they would reverse it will take 7-10 days which is bs to me. My bank account is unusable way overdrawn and I have to wait until money is replaced.
I opened an investigation through my bank. That will be 10 days before removal bounced charges kick in. There was instances 4 time that they took 83 cents out to see if they could send this unauthorized payment through. I think this is how they make their quarterlies. Comcast did the same thing frequently. They charged me for service calls I didn't make and I had free service I paid extra for. They also had me paying for some other guys account including me. This is how companies make their quota for quarterlies. Then they tell you it will come off the next bill but you have to pay now. ** that I only pay my bill amount.

In June of 2018 I applied for a credit card with Credit One and was approved. All I seen was no hidden fees so I applied. Not realizing it I got a $75 annual charge in the mail anyways, I paid it because it was my error. Just recently I got a notice that my $75 annual fee will be $99 now and be billed monthly. At that point I decided to cancel my card. “A card that was never used”. I called Credit One to cancel and they weren’t helpful. I was on the phone for over an hour and completely agitated. I informed Credit One phone rep that I wanted to cancel and she refused and kept insisting it will ruin my credit and giving me a whole spiel.
I was upset with the agreement change from $75 to $99 and she tried to bribe me saying, “We’ll give you back 20% of the $75 if you don’t cancel,” and I told her again I just wanted to cancel. I’m not interested in that and again she wouldn’t do it so I told her to let me talk to someone else. “You’re not assisting me and I don’t want to talk to you no more.” Eventually I got transferred after a runaround.
I believe it was the cancellation dept that took my call and it was a woman and that conversation didn’t go well either. She knew I wanted to cancel and had to give me another spiel so I told her I just want to cancel and I’m not interested like I told the other rep. She started telling me, “You may owe us interest,” and I said, “No I don’t. I already paid you your $75 and I’ve never used the card so I owe nothing. I don’t agree with that.” So she said, “You need to stop interrupting me; I have to tell you this; it’s part of our closing.” So she proceeded to tell me the same thing again and she got the same response from me. I told her, “I hear what you’re saying but I don’t agree with it. Just cancel my card.” I find that Credit One is pushy and doesn’t make it easy to cancel at any time. I also feel like they tried to trick me agreeing to owing interest. I have many credit cards with different banks and they are far more worst than I’ve ever dealt with.

I attempted to use my card on a site I have ordered from before, and they denied the charge. I thought I entered the number incorrectly so I attempted again. I received a text message from the company asking if I recognize the charges, to which I replied "yes." They responded that I am clear to continue using my card. However, I was denied several more times. Each time I would get a text asking to confirm my activity, which I again replied yes, but was denied.
I called the call center, verified my identity by answering all of their questions. I was told that I am clear to use the card. I tried at a store and was denied. When I called back, the man on the other end asked for my full CC number, SS#, address, all of the security questions set up, recent charges and payments made. Only to tell me that in order for them to unfreeze the account, I must snail mail them a copy of my driver's license and a utility bill with my name and address to prove my identity. He claimed this is all they can do and that it will take anywhere from 3-15 business days after they look at it to clear. In the mean time, I am denied seeing any charges posted to the account. I cannot make a payment on the account. But they will continue to charge me a usage fee, a CC service fee, and late fee if I do not make a payment by their due date.
This is not the first poor service I have had with this company. They charge you to pay them, they tell you they have increased your credit limit, but charge you for that. They charge you for a new card, even when the previous card is expiring. If you have any issues, you have to send your complaint in writing, to which they take on average a month to respond via snail mail. This company is complete crap and has horrible customer service.

Well... I called the second time and explained that I was still confused. The second guy Sebastian also didn't let me finish one sentence. They canceled my payment because they couldn't let me finish what I wanted to say. I thought that was incredibly frustrating. I requested a supervisor to Sebastian and he asked me why. I said there is no need to clarify an issue or question or any doubt in 2 calls. (If they listen they would understand the customer right away)
The rudeness and lack of manners from them was not necessary. I told that to Sebastian and he hung up on me. I did not raise my voice and I never use bad language. I just stated that the way they handle a situation is very bad. I called a 3rd time and Jorge, the supervisor was about to start like them but didn't. I guess he remembered his manners.
Customers issues or complaints ARE NOT against the customer service representative. IT IS NOT PERSONAL. It's an issue or misunderstanding with money or the system. If the representative makes it personal, then that is not a job for them. I understand that there are rude customers as well but it is not fair... or professional to treat everyone the same way. I pretty annoyed by the $75 annual fee, plus the $8 fee on top of another $6.95 "design fee", all of which were not expressed to be paid as soon as you activate the card but since I am trying to rebuild my credit, I went ahead with it. I didn't get truly frustrated with the card until I tried to use the card, and with every attempt it was declined. I tried using it online first to make a payment...declined. Then I tried using it at Mcdonald's...Declined. Then I tried the most popular retailer in the U.S. (Walmart)...declined.
I said, well let me try a PayPal payment....guess what, declined. Now in between each of these declines, I called Credit One every time, and every time they gave me the same script. Wait 15 mins for them to "reset" the security because of "unusual" activity, like buying fast food is "unusual". I was also given the script that maybe it was because I might not be in the area where the card is mailed to which was utter BS, as I just received the card. I eventually just lucked out on a Capital One Card which will allow me to rebuild. If I could give this a 0 I would as what use is a card which charges a monthly fee plus an annual fee if I cannot even reliably use it. Seems like a scam to get folks money. I quickly got out of it and recommend anyone looking at this to simply keep it moving.

I'm NOT even a Credit One customer and someone from THEIR office attempted to scam me starting with $409.95 (3x), $309.95 and a $209.95. Somehow they got my legit ATM card number and attempted these transactions today 1-7-2019 starting at about 7:30 am back to back. Eventually my bank and I got together and I was forced having to cancel my LEGIT card altogether. With them using the Capital One logo, people think this is a real credit card, it is NOT. Used to get their "invitation" in the mail all the time but went in "file 13" on my end. READ everything thorough from ANY type of card invitation. Research them. Just a matter of time now when they are closed down, in my case, this was a federal offense.

I went to an ATM Machine a day ago to attempt to get a cash advance, I already checked my balance and available balance online before doing so. It was declined. Stating that I had to contact Financial institution. I went to Lowe's believing maybe this had to do with cash advance and attempted to spend $25.00 much less than my available balance that I checked online and also receive notifications from Credit One that I have the available credit. I called the toll free number, they informed me that my card was blocked.
Now get this! I received NO NOTIFICATIONS by e-mail nor text stating that it was blocked, but receive almost daily notifications of balances and availability credit. They informed me that they cannot tell me why it is blocked and that in order to get it unblocked, they need a copy of a utility bill and a copy of my driver's license faxed or mailed to them. Upon receipt of these documents which takes up to 72 hours to process and another 10 days to unblock, they will unblock the card. I pay a lot for processing and Annual fee. No Credit One, not acceptable and yes I want to cancel my card and my Annual fee refunded!!!

I received an offer in the mail and I went on the website to see what the offer was. I was approved and was led to believe that there was no annual fee and I would have a credit limit of $3,000. Once I accepted the offer, I was hit with a $75 annual fee and given a credit line of $300. Far different than what I was led to believe I would get. The first payment came due and I decided I would pay it through the website. I set the payment up, which by the way you cannot select the date as they select the date based on the time of day that you select make payment.
You can also do an express payment which they charge you for. The payment posted on the due date, mind you I had to wait until the day before to set it up or it would have been posted sooner. Then about 2 weeks later I get notice that the payment was returned and the next day I received a credit line increase to $400. I checked with my bank and the payment was never submitted to my bank. I called Credit One about this and had to speak to 3 or 4 people that barely spoke English.
I asked each one for someone in the United States and they could say was "Let me get supervisor." I finally got to someone in Las Vegas who told me that I could cancel the card within 30 days and the annual fee would be credited. Well, it had been over 30 days. The website is constantly down. There is no way to email a complaint to anybody. They refuse to do anything via email. In January, my 2nd payment, I sent via Western Union. The only I was able to get this information was to send an instant message via Facebook and then it took 24 hours for them to respond. I made the payment on Saturday and chose 2 day since the payment was due on Monday, so I thought.
On Sunday I get notice that my payment was late. I called in and there was not an option to speak with a live person, so I pressed "0" several times and finally reached somebody. This person barely spoke English. I asked to speak with someone in the United States, he says "hold on, I transfer you." I am on hold and he comes back on and says "Hold. I transfer you to supervisor." I thought I was already being transferred but oh well. Then the supervisor comes on the line and I once again ask for the United States representative. The supervisor had to ask all my information and enter it before she could do anything. So I ask multiple times for the United States.
I finally informed that the United States office is closed on Saturday and Sunday. I then tell her that I made payment via Western Union and have the confirmation number and receipt of payment. She then says "that no good, it not posted to account." I again say "I have a confirmation number that the payment was made and I do this same thing with Capital One, and they are able to pull the number and note payment has been made." She says "We Credit One, not Capital One." I tried to explain again that she can access Western Union to verify payment and she says "No can't do." I finally hung up. I have used this card 1 time and do not have plans on using it at all. Oh, they also charge a daily interest rate from the day that a purchase is made. So you may charge $50 and think you will pay it in full when the payment comes due and instead of paying $50 you have to pay $54. Consumer beware is all I can say.

This is the worst card I have ever had and the worst bank I have ever dealt with. I got this card to rebuild my credit but I am learning it is not worth it. These people are scammers. There has been many times when I could not make a payment online because I could not log in until the due date was passed. Just recently I made my payment a week in advance and it never posted. Now they are charging me late fees. I regret ever accepting this card. My new year's resolution is to pay this off and say goodbye to these idiots forever! Say NO to this offer!!!

I got this card to purchase my tax & payroll software (I own a bookkeeping business & need to update my software at the beginning of the year). I am unable to purchase the software I need online because their computer thinks it is a suspicious transaction. I have phoned to get the charge to go through and it will not... The last person I spoke to - a supervisor - advised me to wait a couple days and try it again. My clients want their paychecks on payday! I am canceling this card and if you plan on making any online purchases, stay away from these folks - they are bad news!!

Just read all the reviews for this company and you will get your answer. I first got approved and paid on time for months and when I had asked for increase, I was denied. I called to cancel and was then informed it has when I didn’t know. I was on hold after being transferred to the department handling closing account. I didn’t speak to anyone but when I called back, I was informed my card has already been closed. Please, do not accept or even attempt to rebuild credit with them. Credit One has been the best and automatically increased mine automatically. No for Credit One bank!

My card was hacked last year. Company finally worked to put a password on my account so I could talk to them. Almost 4 months before my money was credited back. Now I find one of my cards was blocked without notice to me. After talking to rep, supervisor, supervisor's manager and now the manager's manager (I think they are just passing me around the room in India) they will not unblock my account unless I send them my driver's license and utility bill to confirm my address. They say I purchase I made 2 months at Target that was shipped to my home went to a different address. Really? "You will not have access to your credit unless we receive these documents". I will pay off this card and close the account. Company is made up of thieves. Stay away!

These people routinely block your access to your account with no explanation. You call them and they say you have to mail information in to get it unlocked. They prevent you from making payments except during set windows obviously so they have time to make interest off your money. In addition if you want to make a payment that posts in a timely fashion (like within 2-3 days), you have to pay an additional "express" fee. If you pay it the "regular" way without the fee, you have to wait until the second coming for it to post. They then hide behind the poor innocent people in their Filipino call center who take all the customer frustration for their criminal bosses who hide behind the scenes. What else is new, right? The cowards who make the decisions always hide under a rock. Disgusting.

Never had a credit card. First company to give me a chance but the stupidest thing I realize is when your payment is due per se the 28th of the month even though you make the payment on the 28th they still issue you a late fee. Will be contacting an attorney regarding.

Aside from an initial fee charged when you open an account, they charge a monthly fee of $8.25 after your first year. When you accept a credit increase from them they charge you $25 just for the privilege of paying them more interest. When you discover that your credit card was lost or stolen (as happened to me) they charge you $25 for the privilege of receiving a new card. If you have made the unfortunate decision as I did to sign up for this card I suggest you pay it off as quickly as possible and cancel it as I intend to.

This company is the worst I've ever worked with. I am never able to access the website to make payments, on hold for more than 20-30 minutes minimum just to make a payment by phone, and the fees are horrible. They repeatedly suspended my account just for making normal transactions near where I live, essentially making the card useless. To make a payment by phone because their website is down or to get in contact because I'm locked out due to suspension, it takes 3 days just to allow me to log on to check my balance or get any information on the account.
If a payment is not made on time, almost always due to suspension or their non-functioning website, I start getting spam calls from people who immediately ask for my SSN last 4, address, and so on. Very suspicious so I never respond when they call me, Only when I call them do I give out that info. Service issues considered, along with the repeated suspension of my account for normal activity, and "mystery fees," I will never trust this company with my money and neither should anyone else. They're running some kind of legal scam and it's obvious if you've ever had to deal with this "bank."

Probably the worst credit card company out there. They charge 12.00 per month in fees. If you ever have to call for any issue you will never receive any person who speaks understandable English, even the managers cannot be understood. You cannot even make a payment on the phone, they only allow payments online which in my experience you also have to pay $5.00 just to make a payment online, so unless you have checks it's a nightmare. I recently ended my account with them after 3 yrs. If I would have paid attention to all of fees from the begin I would have ended it earlier.
They also do not mention the $12 a month membership fee in the fine line agreement. Overall I would not recommend this card to any person, even if trying to build credit. There are many other companies out there that offer way better agreements with less **. I give this company a 0 and I hope they go bankrupt in the near future and get summoned by the Better Business Bureau for fraud and false information, this company is a bunch of crooks!!!

The customer service representative 'MARY' asked me more than enough questions to verify my identity. But then she proceeds to ask me what was the security question I was asked when setting my account over the phone. This was over two years ago!! Even after I asked if there was another option to verify my identity (ie. text to my phone or email verification), she proceeds to tell me she cannot help me unless I verify the security question I was asked when setting up the account and the answer I gave. I asked to speak with a supervisor, after which I was put on hold indefinitely. I've never experienced anything like this. Credit One Bank is a diabolical institution!

Credit One Bank is a scam! They offer a $400 credit limit & charge an annual fee of $75 right off the top! Then charge you interest & late fees on top of that annual fee. The card is not usable. It gets declined every time. When you call customer service you will get hung up on & disconnected. There is never a supervisor to speak with. The attorney general should get involved & close down this scam of a company! They are taking advantage of people.

There are no words to describe the unethical verbal abuse one has to put up with their overseas customer's service department. I over a period of three months for different occasions have been verbally abused, yelled at, hung up on by overseas customer service representatives who hide behind a phone with no understanding that they are servicing Hard working American citizens that have no reason to be treated this way. The card is good to rebuild your credit but if you have to call in ask to speak to someone in the USA Las Vegas. I have 5 recorded phone conversations of unethical individuals violating all decency in human relationships. Someone in management needs to address this situation ASAP before more lawsuits are filed. Come to the USA and don’t hide behind a phone and we'll see how far you get with the verbal abuse.
