This is a lie and I was given one option: file a police report. Now I’m being overcharged and I now have a balance of $566. Credit One is refusing to reverse this, I’m literally being robbed. I got my first unsecured credit card with Credit One Bank. For the first couple of months everything was fine. I paid my balance off in full. When I tried using the card they had suspended it. When I called they told me I have to send them my information in the mail. They also suspended access to my account where I can't even make online payments. I will never send payments through the mail so I now have late fees and derogatory remarks on the account. I honestly got so frustrated I let the account go delinquent. I plan on paying it off but they make it near impossible to do so. I don't recommend anyone get this card! They have no problem taking your money and then closing your account!

My wife and I have 3 of their cards and use them sparingly, we prefer to use Capital One cards. In March of 2018 I did use their card and needed to dispute a car rental for $449.63, they made me jump through a bunch of hoops as though I was the criminal and they still haven't refunded my money! I had to write a complaint to which they responded with phone numbers to reach them and the numbers aren't even valid! The letter they sent me with the wrong numbers also stated that they needed the following information and the information that they needed was left blank. I have tried numerous times to contact them and only get someone in the Philippines who I can't understand, I should have used my Capital One card or my Discover card, needless to say... I will be getting rid of all 3 of their cards and suggest to all of you out there... STAY AWAY FROM CREDIT ONE CARDS!!!!

I actually have two Credit One credit card. I have been a long-time customer. When they are logged in to pay the bill on them and I noticed one of my accounts was no longer linked. I called them and they said my account was locked and they wouldn’t tell me why. To verify my account they asked me questions like how long have I had an account and what day is my statement Is due. Well I don’t really know the answers to those questions because I do everything online so now they want me to mail a copy of my driver's license and a copy of my paper statement. They didn’t even tell me what address to send it to. As soon as I get this sorted out I will be canceling both accounts.

Unsafe and data issues with no authentication and compliance failure. Maybe not regulated in the Philippines. Be cautious and do not call the number on the back of the card. I have my phone call recorded and it is unsafe to operate with this company. I have had a card for a year and never had a problem paying or accessing my online account. Until I had made a payment that wasn't even due for 5.00 and on the same day my bank notified me of fraud and stopped my debit card to protect my information. I called and let the Credit One rep. know of situation and they said, "No problem. Thanks for calling."

I got my card a week later for my bank to pay and come to find out my account has been closed and no one will give me access to a bill or send me a bill to verify amount. They want me to wire them money or give them my information over the phone. The rep mentioned that they would provide me with a confirmation number but I cannot confirm the location of where it is sent to due to no access online or a phone number in the U.S. to call and speak to someone who can verify a employee number or a phone line that is secured.

This is horrible and very concerning not only for me but maybe the people who have had their personal information leaked out. We have to mandate and get compliance on board in order to abide by federal regulations. Who can I speak to about this matter? I can't verify amount owed nor will they send me anything unless I pay them over the phone or Western Union them. My credit is in the hands of the unknown. Please contact me as soon as possible. Thank you.

Credit One Bank defrauds its customers. Credit One Bank defrauds its customers more than any company I have ever come in contact with. Not only do they misappropriate your payments to accounts not currently open in your name, but they allow fraudulent charges to your account with no help to remove them. They charge you interest on top of those fraudulent charges, and even block access to your account. When you write to file a complaint, you are forced to do it on their social media sites, since they do not respond to any email correspondence. When you voice your opinion online, they block your comments. Their reviews speak for themselves.

This company cannot be trusted. Their CEO Robert DeJong should step down, or else there will be lawsuits coming his way for all the customers they prey on. Currently I have a $2500 payment that they have not credited to my account, yet they drafted from my bank account immediately. My card is blocked and I have no access to view it, and they have not resolved nearly $400 in fraudulent charges from 4 months ago. This is a BAD company to do business with.

I applied for this card about 2 years ago just to up my credit score. Up until December 2018 I had no problems with this card and was even given a few credit line increases. But alas, in Dec of 2018 my card was compromised {stolen}. A bunch of online unauthorized purchases occurred, I contacted their credit card fraud dept and was told that they would investigate the fraudulent charges and in 90 days a decision would be made and I would not be held liable. 115 days later they closed the case and are holding me accountable for these fraudulent charges. I was told I needed to file an official police report and they would send me the transactions from Dec 2018 to present. They did send me transactions but only for the month of March 2019.

They also sent me another person's fraud claim stating that they too would be held liable for fraudulent purchases. They are a very disorganized and a dishonest company and to me it appears they will always side with the big companies rather than the customer. So if you decide to be part of their consumers, I highly recommend DO NOT do it. It is not worth the monthly fee and if your account is compromised they will not side with you but rather the company that claims you did make the purchases regardless of facts.

I was really in the negative comments on this site about Credit One, but I have to say I have never had any issues with that and I’ve been with them for about two years. People have to realize they are a small company and although I don’t necessarily agree with some of their fees they have to charge these fees for the company to grow they are not some huge company like Capital One or Chase. One thing people need to realize is they give credit cards to people with bad credit like myself. After my divorce my credit was ruined and nobody would give me a credit card except Credit One.

My only issue is every time I have called customer service it is someone with a heavy accent that I have a hard time understanding but they’ve always been able to handle my problem. They raise my credit limit out once and did not charge me for the increase. It’s only $450 but I came into this card with really really bad credit. Yes they are expensive yes they charge high interest but all this is explained in their terms and conditions. I love how people accept these terms then start blasting the company or year later like it’s the company‘s fault if you don’t like the term’s donuts up the card if you didn’t read the terms that’s your own fault. I’m happy with Credit One.

My terms and conditions state that I should expect a $39 annual fee for the card, which today I was told is actually $70. It's really disheartening how corporations such as this lack of integrity in the way they handle business, particularly with those building or rebuilding credit. It's becoming more common that these enterprises are exploiting those who are trying to get things right or back on track, for their corporate gain, and unfortunately, the government is in support, as they are LEGALLY allowed to include clauses that waive your right to arbitration. The FBI should be investigating companies like THIS, on a regular basis.

On April 7th I get an email from this company that they made 2 small deposits into my bank account and I need to contact my bank then verify it with Credit One. This is why I closed my account. I told them they can't access my account when I did not request automatic payment option. So now I have to close my bank account and get a new number because of these idiots. I'm reporting them to my states Attorney General office but they probably will not do anything, but they should.

They are a predator lender. The day I closed my account, Me speaking, "I need to pay off my balance in full today and close my account." Customer Service Rep, "Okay, how much would you like to pay towards your balance today?" Me, "Are you kidding me, did you not hear what I just said?" Rep, "Okay. I will process it and give you confirmation number of closing authorization, also if you receive a statement with a balance after you pay off your account, ignore it." I can't make this up people. This is what I walked into. They never will leave you alone. They are like the bank of the undead. The balance that showed on my online account was over $300 below my limit, but my card was getting declined due to insufficient funds. When I logged in, it said my recent payment had posted the day before, but my available credit was still only $19. When I talked to the person on the phone she insisted on reading off every charge to me, as if I was going to add it all up in my head, and continued to insist that my payment hadn't posted. Then she said that even though it had posted, I still wasn't going to have it actually available until three days later.

I asked if the website had some different notation for the payment for when it ACTUALLY was cleared, since "posted" apparently doesn't mean it's been posted, and I didn't get a good answer. I canceled my card because there is absolutely no use to it if the online account doesn't accurately reflect the amounts. And why are they holding my money for 4 extra days, anyway??? No reason things can't be instant, without having to pay an extra fee.

When I started to rebuild my credit, Credit One was the third card I applied and was approved for. They started me with a decent credit limit - for someone with very limited credit - of $500. After being with them a little over a year now, no missed or late payments, keeping a fairly high utilization rate, paying more than the minimum each month, and then paying it completely off with my taxes in one chunk and then leaving it be for the last month - I signed in today just to check on things, I was surprised to see 2 more offers than normal. Curious, I checked to see what they were and one was for a credit limit increase (which was approved immediately for another $200, raising my limit to $700) and the other was a pre-approved offer for a MasterCard because of my "good behaviour".

I was a little unsure at first, knowing it would be a hard pull (which actually hasn't shown up yet, but we're still less than 24 hours in) and I've worked really hard to get my credit to where it is now (started this credit repair journey around 550 or so and am now at 702 with 14 mixed accounts) I decided to take a chance and submitted my application... Within 30 seconds I was congratulated and approved for an $800 MasterCard! That's up a $1000, for a total of $1500 between both cards! (On a side note - I also got approved for a Discover It card with a $2500 limit - my biggest yet - just prior to this for a total of $4000 in less than 24 hours!) Overall I'm very satisfied with Credit One, and very grateful they took a chance on me when not many others would. So, Thank You Credit One! And to everyone else -YES, I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS CARD - if you're serious about rebuilding your credit responsibly, Credit One can help you achieve that goal! :)

I got this card to help rebuild my credit. I would only use it for small purchases mostly and pay it off every month. In April I was getting BOMBARDED by phone calls form an *$$ number and looked it up to see it was credit one Bank which was odd because I had paid my balance at the end of Feb. I log on to my account and noticed it says I am past due with a $12 balance ($6 of which is a late fee). Evidently they charge you interest EVEN if you pay your balance off AND that interest charge is not reflected in your online total until your next billing cycle. I made a purchase at the beginning of Jan for $400, they charged me $6 interest the middle of Jan but did not include it in my online balance until I paid what it said was my entire balance on Feb 22. Consequently they hit me with a late fee on the "unpaid" interest.

Most cards if you pay your balance in full you avoid paying interest. Not only is this NOT the case with these criminals BUT they have practices in place to INTENTIONALLY make it impossible to know what your balance actually is leading to excessive fees. I also found out they DO charge an annual fee the second year on of $99 even though when I signed up it said "no annual fee". I closed my account immediately, do not apply here unless you are very desperate.

Was told I'd receive a call in 10 days or so to follow up. Of course, never received the call. Called back to follow up myself and was gold the negative mark was impossible to remove from my credit. They are liars and scammers. Go with a reputable company who isn't out to ruin people. They outsource their customer service to India (which I take no issue with) but it's very obvious they'll just lie to get a disgruntled customer off the phone. Don't do it. Yet, when the credit card arrives I read the fine print and it states (no annual fee 1st year then $99 per year thereafter). Well, I can tell you for a fact that addition was not displayed on the site in the details I read. Why give a free 1st year then charge customers? (The answer is simple: so they get hit with a surprise fee charged to their account) - I refused to activate then had the account canceled. Regardless- going through this process conducted a hard pull on my credit that was entirely unnecessary if they had been honest in their advertising. (ALWAYS READ THE FINE PRINT.)

No communication was provided. When I called inquiring why I was told about the security breach with the merchant (Credit One will not release the name of the merchant). Until I mail (not fax or email) copies of my drivers license and two bills demonstrating my address I am unable to access this account. Including paying this month's payment. I find it very paradoxical they have a hold on my account for a breach of security of identity yet they are asking me to provide a photo ID and two of my personal bills to prove who I am.

Credit One was one of the first companies to offer me a credit card after I went through a difficult chapter in my life. I was grateful and accepted the card and even ended up opening two accounts with the hope of improving my credit. Maybe it was a mistake, because I was stuck with pretty high annuals fees on both of my cards. It seems that Credit One has the uncanny ability of sucking out every single penny that it can from its customers. I constantly received offers to increase my credit if I paid a fee. I am not sure to what extent they helped me to improve my credit, but within nearly one year I started receiving other offers (with no annual fees).

In regard to customer service, on one occasion I had a fraudulent charge, and it was fairly frustrating since there was a pretty significant communication barrier with the agent (I could not understand much of what she was saying). Also, I was not refunded the money immediately and had to wait until an investigation took place. I was told that this process can take up to 90 days (not impressed). I was initially grateful for their offer of credit, but this card basically seems like a paid service to increase your credit because of the high fees and interest. I just recently closed out both of my accounts and am happy to have no more annual fees!

Even received refund credits in the mail. Here's the issue. I only pay the monthly annual fee of $8.25 immediately when posted online. I pay through the standard method. No problem there. I requested a credit increase to be denied. The reason; "Have not met standard minimum requirements in 90 days". Called customer service and they do not know what that meant. Well, this card started my credit history. I will wait and pay monthly annual fee for another year then close account. They have done me well and now the love affair is over.

When you try to make a payment using the standard method, which costs nothing, they don't allow you to do it. They force you to make an express payment so they can burn you for 9.95. If you call them to complain about not being able to make a standard payment, they take your payment over the phone, then charge you 9.95, which their representative in ECUADOR, of all places, tells you he's not going to do, but he does it anyway. This bank is a total and complete rip off in my opinion. I signed up for a credit card with them and 7 times out of 10 when I attempt to pay my bill online their system is either down or they have without my permission added some random deposit to my account. If they add a random deposit you then have to find this deposit amount and verify the amount in the system. Until you do this it will not let you pay your due balance. Problem is sometimes the amount has not posted in your bank account yet, therefore you cannot verify it. Therefore you are then late making a payment. Then they slap you with a late fee.

Even if the system is just down and a representative walks you through online to pay your bill and realizes that it is TOTALLY CREDIT ONE'S system that is down they will offer to let you pay it via phone for a fee. Really a fee??? I was so irate that they waived the fee after me being on the phone with them for a half hour and speaking to 3 people. This should not be. They are HORRIBLE! I work as a bookkeeper at a vehicle dealership with a separate service center. This card is the one we got for the service center. It literally takes 3-4 days for authorizations to post as actual transactions. Then you make a payment through a website that does not work more than it does, and then it takes another 5-6 days for those funds (that have long cleared your checking account) to be available for use. To remedy that, I sent in several payments ranging from $300-$1000 to the payment address and those payments cleared our checking account yet the card is getting declined. We have almost a $3000 credit balance plus available credit and the card is yet again getting declined. Our shop manager ended up getting declined at several vendors and I spent an hour on the phone with their so called customer service.

They are VERY nice on the phone, but please STOP apologizing for the 'unfortunate situation', just confirm the charges are legit and allow us to use the card. I have been transferred to several departments, to their fraud department, verified payments mailed in, verified ALL our vendors that are authorized to charge the card, authorized users, spoke to supervisors and still nothing. So currently we are overpaid by $3000 and are not allowed to use the card. The CSR told me it was because the 2 large payments take 5-6 days to clear. (They cleared the checking account the day after the pmts were received). It makes no sense. They cannot explain WHY the card is getting declined. She said there is a lot of fraudulent charges coming from Autozone. Steer clear from this.

When I called to dispute, they told me MY CHECKING ACCOUNT THAT I JUST PAID THEM with had been closed! WHAT!? It was not. Even told them that I have the statement showing they took the payment. Even after sending (mailing) proof, they never took the suspension off, I still get payment notifications, but the app will not allow you to pay and then they charge you late fee AGAIN! I told them I wanted just pay my bill and close the account. Which I did, then they called the credit bureaus, gave me a negative mark and my score dropped 42 points for a mid 600's score. Avoid at all costs. All my months of credit rebuild was wiped away just from dealing with this company. My payment due date is the 4th. I made an online payment of 46.00 on the 1st. On the 10th I went to check my bank balance. I was 400. overdrawn because not only was the 46.00 on the 1st taken out there was a 509.95 payment unauthorized by me taken out on the 7th. 9.95 was for express payment. Which I never make. They said, "Oh we will do an investigation. Will take 30 to 60 days." Lol I kept going up the line and they told me they would reverse it will take 7-10 days which is bs to me. My bank account is unusable way overdrawn and I have to wait until money is replaced.

I opened an investigation through my bank. That will be 10 days before removal bounced charges kick in. There was instances 4 time that they took 83 cents out to see if they could send this unauthorized payment through. I think this is how they make their quarterlies. Comcast did the same thing frequently. They charged me for service calls I didn't make and I had free service I paid extra for. They also had me paying for some other guys account including me. This is how companies make their quota for quarterlies. Then they tell you it will come off the next bill but you have to pay now. ** that I only pay my bill amount.

Rep I talked to was very rude about it and claimed even if you're an hour late past your due date the fee is assessed. This card sucks officially. Capital One has better limits, rates and will at best send a reminder email or text when your payment is due. I have a newborn so yes a day slipped my mind. The reminder came that I was PAST DUE. Credit One claims to be there to help consumers rebuild credit etc but charging fees for people who are already financially challenged does no customer justice. Being that most are establishing, re establishing or rebuilding credit they pay the ridiculous fee. Credit One WAS the worst card I had and now I have canceled both cards! In June of 2018 I applied for a credit card with Credit One and was approved. All I seen was no hidden fees so I applied. Not realizing it I got a $75 annual charge in the mail anyways, I paid it because it was my error. Just recently I got a notice that my $75 annual fee will be $99 now and be billed monthly. At that point I decided to cancel my card. “A card that was never used”. I called Credit One to cancel and they weren’t helpful. I was on the phone for over an hour and completely agitated. I informed Credit One phone rep that I wanted to cancel and she refused and kept insisting it will ruin my credit and giving me a whole spiel.

I was upset with the agreement change from $75 to $99 and she tried to bribe me saying, “We’ll give you back 20% of the $75 if you don’t cancel,” and I told her again I just wanted to cancel. I’m not interested in that and again she wouldn’t do it so I told her to let me talk to someone else. “You’re not assisting me and I don’t want to talk to you no more.” Eventually I got transferred after a runaround.

I believe it was the cancellation dept that took my call and it was a woman and that conversation didn’t go well either. She knew I wanted to cancel and had to give me another spiel so I told her I just want to cancel and I’m not interested like I told the other rep. She started telling me, “You may owe us interest,” and I said, “No I don’t. I already paid you your $75 and I’ve never used the card so I owe nothing. I don’t agree with that.” So she said, “You need to stop interrupting me; I have to tell you this; it’s part of our closing.” So she proceeded to tell me the same thing again and she got the same response from me. I told her, “I hear what you’re saying but I don’t agree with it. Just cancel my card.” I find that Credit One is pushy and doesn’t make it easy to cancel at any time. I also feel like they tried to trick me agreeing to owing interest. I have many credit cards with different banks and they are far more worst than I’ve ever dealt with.

This company asks you to set up several security questions to "verify your identity." It even asks for permission to text you details about your account (ex: Balance due, suspected fraud charges). I attempted to use my card on a site I have ordered from before, and they denied the charge. I thought I entered the number incorrectly so I attempted again. I received a text message from the company asking if I recognize the charges, to which I replied "yes." They responded that I am clear to continue using my card. However, I was denied several more times. Each time I would get a text asking to confirm my activity, which I again replied yes, but was denied.

I called the call center, verified my identity by answering all of their questions. I was told that I am clear to use the card. I tried at a store and was denied. When I called back, the man on the other end asked for my full CC number, SS#, address, all of the security questions set up, recent charges and payments made. Only to tell me that in order for them to unfreeze the account, I must snail mail them a copy of my driver's license and a utility bill with my name and address to prove my identity. He claimed this is all they can do and that it will take anywhere from 3-15 business days after they look at it to clear. In the mean time, I am denied seeing any charges posted to the account. I cannot make a payment on the account. But they will continue to charge me a usage fee, a CC service fee, and late fee if I do not make a payment by their due date.

This is not the first poor service I have had with this company. They charge you to pay them, they tell you they have increased your credit limit, but charge you for that. They charge you for a new card, even when the previous card is expiring. If you have any issues, you have to send your complaint in writing, to which they take on average a month to respond via snail mail. As soon as this latest fiasco is cleared up, I will be closing all of my accounts with them and will use another company to build credit with. This company is complete crap and has horrible customer service.

I have no account with them and never applied. I called the 877-825-3242 (which is also listed on Creditonebank.com) and so stupidly, not even thinking, I punched in my social security number when prompted (it was "checking on the status of an application"). When I got connected, a man with a Middle-Eastern accent came on and asked me to re-verify my Social Security number. As soon as this happened I knew I had been scammed. When I asked him to just tell me more about this letter, he started going around in circles and ultimately said "don't worry, you can trust me." That just gave it away. I hung up and contacted my actual bank, who has now advised me to contact the Social Security office as well as the three credit bureaus about this possible and likely fraud. Great.

That was so disrespectful but I decided to let it go and make a second call. I was still confused. I wanted to make sure the issue with my app wouldn't charge me twice. (I didn't know that they don't allow 2 payments in one day) Sean could have told me that in the first call.

Well... I called the second time and explained that I was still confused. The second guy Sebastian also didn't let me finish one sentence. They canceled my payment because they couldn't let me finish what I wanted to say. I thought that was incredibly frustrating. I requested a supervisor to Sebastian and he asked me why. I said there is no need to clarify an issue or question or any doubt in 2 calls. (If they listen they would understand the customer right away)

The rudeness and lack of manners from them was not necessary. I told that to Sebastian and he hung up on me. I did not raise my voice and I never use bad language. I just stated that the way they handle a situation is very bad. I called a 3rd time and Jorge, the supervisor was about to start like them but didn't. I guess he remembered his manners.

Customers issues or complaints ARE NOT against the customer service representative. IT IS NOT PERSONAL. It's an issue or misunderstanding with money or the system. If the representative makes it personal, then that is not a job for them. I understand that there are rude customers as well but it is not fair... or professional to treat everyone the same way. So disappointed.

I just received this card today, and within about 7 hours cancelled the card after trying to use it at several different merchants. I pretty annoyed by the $75 annual fee, plus the $8 fee on top of another $6.95 "design fee", all of which were not expressed to be paid as soon as you activate the card but since I am trying to rebuild my credit, I went ahead with it. I didn't get truly frustrated with the card until I tried to use the card, and with every attempt it was declined. I tried using it online first to make a payment...declined. Then I tried using it at Mcdonald's...Declined. Then I tried the most popular retailer in the U.S. (Walmart)...declined.

I said, well let me try a PayPal payment....guess what, declined. Now in between each of these declines, I called Credit One every time, and every time they gave me the same script. Wait 15 mins for them to "reset" the security because of "unusual" activity, like buying fast food is "unusual". I was also given the script that maybe it was because I might not be in the area where the card is mailed to which was utter BS, as I just received the card. I eventually just lucked out on a Capital One Card which will allow me to rebuild. If I could give this a 0 I would as what use is a card which charges a monthly fee plus an annual fee if I cannot even reliably use it. Seems like a scam to get folks money. I quickly got out of it and recommend anyone looking at this to simply keep it moving.

Once I accepted the offer, I was hit with a $75 annual fee and given a credit line of $300. Far different than what I was led to believe I would get. The first payment came due and I decided I would pay it through the website. I set the payment up, which by the way you cannot select the date as they select the date based on the time of day that you select make payment.

You can also do an express payment which they charge you for. The payment posted on the due date, mind you I had to wait until the day before to set it up or it would have been posted sooner. Then about 2 weeks later I get notice that the payment was returned and the next day I received a credit line increase to $400. I checked with my bank and the payment was never submitted to my bank. I called Credit One about this and had to speak to 3 or 4 people that barely spoke English.

I asked each one for someone in the United States and they could say was "Let me get supervisor." I finally got to someone in Las Vegas who told me that I could cancel the card within 30 days and the annual fee would be credited. Well, it had been over 30 days. The website is constantly down. There is no way to email a complaint to anybody. They refuse to do anything via email. In January, my 2nd payment, I sent via Western Union. The only I was able to get this information was to send an instant message via Facebook and then it took 24 hours for them to respond. I made the payment on Saturday and chose 2 day since the payment was due on Monday, so I thought.

On Sunday I get notice that my payment was late. I called in and there was not an option to speak with a live person, so I pressed "0" several times and finally reached somebody. This person barely spoke English. I asked to speak with someone in the United States, he says "hold on, I transfer you." I am on hold and he comes back on and says "Hold. I transfer you to supervisor." I thought I was already being transferred but oh well. Then the supervisor comes on the line and I once again ask for the United States representative. The supervisor had to ask all my information and enter it before she could do anything. So I ask multiple times for the United States.

I finally informed that the United States office is closed on Saturday and Sunday. I then tell her that I made payment via Western Union and have the confirmation number and receipt of payment. She then says "that no good, it not posted to account." I again say "I have a confirmation number that the payment was made and I do this same thing with Capital One, and they are able to pull the number and note payment has been made." She says "We Credit One, not Capital One." I tried to explain again that she can access Western Union to verify payment and she says "No can't do." I finally hung up. I have used this card 1 time and do not have plans on using it at all. Oh, they also charge a daily interest rate from the day that a purchase is made. So you may charge $50 and think you will pay it in full when the payment comes due and instead of paying $50 you have to pay $54. Consumer beware is all I can say.

In addition if you want to make a payment that posts in a timely fashion (like within 2-3 days), you have to pay an additional "express" fee. If you pay it the "regular" way without the fee, you have to wait until the second coming for it to post. I am never able to access the website to make payments, on hold for more than 20-30 minutes minimum just to make a payment by phone, and the fees are horrible. They repeatedly suspended my account just for making normal transactions near where I live, essentially making the card useless. To make a payment by phone because their website is down or to get in contact because I'm locked out due to suspension, it takes 3 days just to allow me to log on to check my balance or get any information on the account.

If a payment is not made on time, almost always due to suspension or their non-functioning website, I start getting spam calls from people who immediately ask for my SSN last 4, address, and so on. Very suspicious so I never respond when they call me, Only when I call them do I give out that info. Service issues considered, along with the repeated suspension of my account for normal activity, and "mystery fees," I will never trust this company with my money and neither should anyone else. Using a credit card is both a responsibility and a discipline. Long ago, the death of a spouse plummeted me into poor credit rating, so the climb out began. Beware of this resource. Owning this card is a mine field. First of all, this is a obviously a credit-building credit card; it targets the "low-end" customer and the vendor truly takes aim at that customer and fires hard. Though they have a fairly impressive user infrastructure online (hence, the star) surcharges for "express pay" and "custom card designs" are just a few things designed to bilk the unsuspecting.

I have an excellent payment record, but recently made a move overseas - come to find out, many (if not most) countries are locked out of the website and phone app. Two other banks I use work just fine. When I contacted COB long distance by phone, they tried to spin it (with a thick foreign accent, no less) as a positive, saying, "we block our site in foreign countries on purpose to protect our customers." I had to laugh out loud, because it's a scheme - if you don't have a VPN (I finally got one), you will not be able to log on, your bill will lapse with late payment... Your credit rating will go deeper in the toilet and the entire purpose of getting such a card is defeated.

The moral of the story? Pay this off, and run far, far away from Credit One Bank. Your good credit is the furthest thing from their minds. PS - I tried to leave this happy review on their website (5500 reviews listed, most of them a love-fest) there was no way to leave a comment! That's what happens when you no doubt pay a company to write bogus ones.

I call every week since but they keep giving run around. Basically the head doesn't know what the arm is doing. The minute I get my refund I'm closing this account. I have better cards with way higher limits and NO annual fees or monthly BS fees. Don't need them. Can't wait to close my account!

This company sucks. Fees are ridiculous, if you are late on 1 payment, they will call you 30 times a day from different numbers. The numbers are somehow always local to your current location and I have location turned off in the app on my phone. If you make your payments on time, it's hard to get a credit line increase. Plus they do not have an auto pay option like my other credit card companies have. Never missed a payment with Capital One doing auto pay. But don't get me started on their fees and lack of customer service either. Pay off your cards with this company and shred them. Garbage.

I would not refer this company to anyone. Someone had fraud on my Credit Card and I called it in before it actually went through and this company told me it would take 3 months to get my money recovered. WHAT credit card company makes you wait 3 months (during Christmas season) to reimburse you funds or make them available. So basically my money was stolen, and now this company is penalizing me for them letting a security breach through their own system. I wouldn't stay away from them if I were you. I personally can't now because they are holding my money hostage.

I received pre-qualified offer, figured okay I can use my main card less and use this card for random small purchases. Card arrives - I call to activate then I go online to activate online access and the nightmare begins. 5 calls in fifteen minutes I had to make as I kept getting error messages saying everything from ID and password not accepted or don’t match, computers down, one customer rep told me to answer security questions. Only thing is as I am not able to register I HAVE NO security questions set up, then they told me last four digits of social were out of sequence YET the four previous customer service reps had no issue as they too confirmed my social when I called.

Also no supervisor was available when I repeatedly asked for one and finally after being on hold for five minutes or more I finally told CS rep I will call back as this is terrible customer service. I check periodically and the website still appears to be down. I am unable to access my account online. Based upon this and reviews I now see patterns with this company. Will be reporting them to Better Business as well.

This is one of the most horrible credit card approval I have ever experienced. Trying to build my credit score has CA it set me a decrease in my score. Approved for $300 and leaving me the availability to spend $150. On top of that a $75 annual fee was taken as soon as I received the card. A recent incident occurred 11/4/2018 via communication received the breach the customer's accounts and there was nothing to worry about. I tried paying my bill online and discovered my bank account information was gone and a debit card information that I pay my bill from is gone.

I spoke with a representative today 11/8/2018 regarding this suspicious violation. I was told I never had an account registered. Why is an outright alternative fact. I was put on hold because the icon wouldn't allow me to make a payment and stated that I needed to add a bank account. The icon was gold stating add bank account and it didn't work. The representative walked me the same process I had attempted. It allowed me to log in to my credit account that is set up with the user name and password. She put me on hold while she consulted with a higher official. When she returned she informed me to add my bank account information which was then showing a blue screen.

I stated I am totally afraid because I want to know what happened to all my other personal information that had been deleted out. She kept trying to convince me that I never had a bank account set up nor did I add a Brinks debit card. I informed her that I have save all email data received from Credit One Bank and I will be filing a complaint. I was able to pay my bill today using my bank account information that had been deleted previously. When I called, they did inform me that, "Yes, it is monthly fees". They connect me to Account Specialist and they acted like they were going to do me a favor by taking the monthly fee away until JULY 2019. I have excellent credit and I've had this credit card since 2002 (16 years). I do not remember having to pay a monthly fee like this. Also, they sent out mass texts on "Your payment is overdue". I freaked out! I have a $0 balance. Credit One says it was a system error. You would think with all the money they are ripping people off with the monthly charges, they would be able to keep their system running smoothly.

I am going to blog about this card company that needs to be put out of business. I receive an offer via mail. Accepted the offer without researching the history and customer reviews. That's my fault. I have only been able to use my card once. Each and every other transaction has been declined due to let them tell it to protect your card from fraudulent charges. I will call. Confirm it was me. I'm then told I have to wait 30 min then I can try again. However if it does not work use another card or wait 24 hrs. Are you serious? Once I verify I have to go thru all of this.

So I have only had this card going on #4 days now. I have an available balance and each time I try to use my card it's declined. A block is put on. I have to contact customer service and go thru the wait 30 mins etc. Even after the wait it won't go thru. I can't believe you're able to issue people anything. I keep calling prior to using the card thinking that might work. They put notes on my account saying I'm going to be making purchase. The merchant name and the amount still DECLINED. THIS IS BAD BUSINESS. VERY BAD THAT CUSTOMERS GET TREATED LIKE THIS. I wouldn't recommend your card to anyone and I'm going to complain on every site I can. I want people to know what you go thru.

When I try to pay my bill online they let me go log in and approve a payment then at the end they display a barely visible message saying I’m locked out of my account and in order to make a payment I have to call. Then when I call they usually charge a fee for paying it over the phone. The first few times a didn’t see the tiny error message and then was charge an outrageous late fee. I've had a card from Credit One for roughly 4 months. In my second month, I was unable to reach their website from home or work trying to make a payment the day before my due date. The site was not working. I called them and they refused to acknowledge that the site was down, and told me I had to pay a fee to make a payment over the phone. I was not happy. 2 months later, I get a text from them that my payment is late. How can that be? I check my Outlook calendar, where I keep all my monthly payments as recurring appointments, and there is Credit One on the 16th each month. Today is only the 6th. I checked my last payment made to them, it was on the 14th of November. How can I possibly be late?? I try to log in, site won't respond. I VPN into work from my computer (home internet is Comcast, work is FIOS), thinking maybe it's a Comcast thing. Nope. Can't reach their site from my work PC either.

I try to call the customer service number on the back of the card.. 4 rings, then it goes to a busy signal. They are unreachable. Again. I carry a low balance and use this card for no other reason than to boost my credit score, but clearly this company is shady and takes advantage of poor people. I feel sorry for the people who likely depend on the credit from this company, because if you can't just pay off the card, you are caught in a high-fee debt trap where they clearly will be non-responsive, callus when you do reach them, and suddenly changing earlier due dates is just another trick up their sleeve to indenture you further into their credit vacuum.

I've considered that they maybe even block people individually in order to create these scenarios where you are late and cannot make payments through any channels... I believe this could be true just from reading other people's issues with them and doing the math. Stay away from Credit One, simple as that. They are cash-vampires.

Do not take one of these cards from this company...even if they send you a card in the mail without even applying which is how I think I got this card. Used this card while traveling on vacation for a few hotels. Not a large balance. Have always received my statements in my mailbox NOT my email. Your email is a bad place. Just one more room for error and forget to pay is what I say so I never do it.

3 months go by and no statement. I didn't know, I have a few credit cards and I pay them all every month before they are due. I go to use the card at the dentist for $84 and it's declined. Hmmm So I go online to my account to see what's going on but I can't see what's going on because they have figured out how to hide all of this from you!!!

I call the customer service number and talk with a couple ladies and a supervisor. It appears they have charged me 3 late fees adding up to $95 and an annual fee of $45 to boot. WHAT! I finally convince them to reverse the late fees because I have not seen hide nor hair of a statement, it didn't come in my mailbox like it was supposed to. It's not in my email or spam folder, matter of fact they told me that my email address was not valid even though they had the correct one and we verified IT WAS WORKING. Then I went into my Account Settings to see if Paperless was ON or OFF. There it was... Someone had changed the setting to ON so that I would not receive them in the US mail. I didn't do it, I would not do that and it wasn't accidental because the settings are in a total different section from everything else.

After that was handled now I need to talk to another department to clear my credit from these unwanted effects. NO GO. No one will fess up or help with this one. Supervisor (crony) keeps going round in circles and won't listen to a word I am saying, keeps cutting me off, will not agree to even try to fix this blunder and black mark on my credit score, says I have to file a dispute with Credit One and the bureau. Says that one of the statements they sent to me (same address for over 4 years) came back to them undeliverable. HA! Never tried to send me a letter. My complaint is regarding deceptive behavior and financial fraud that is the standard of business at Credit One Bank. I opened a card with Credit One in September 2018 to help build and establish my credit. I had received a mailer from them saying I was pre-approved for an account. Nowhere in the paperwork does it tell you that they charge you a $50 fee every month to use the card. It is a hidden fee. And even when you call them and ask they dance around the topic.

I called in today (November 27, 2018 at 10:30 am Pacific) to check on my balance because it seemed high and didn't add up with my recent charges in the last two months. I just started a new job where I fly to San Francisco from Las Vegas so I have only been using this card for work and paying it off each month to build my credit. But since I wasn't told about the $50.00 charge, my balance wasn't paid off (in their hidden terms) and I was accruing interest each day on top of the fee!

When I called in today, I asked if the customer service rep could explain my balance charges to me and he kept having trouble explaining what they were. This concerned me. So I asked fiance to listen in as well and we both asked the rep to please clearly answer our questions about what we were being charged. I asked "If I pay off my balance in full today and have a zero balance, will I have any charges next month from you, if I don't use my card?" And he said, "NO except for interest charges!" And I said, "Interest on what?" then he said, "Well for using the card." And I said, "So you are telling me that you are charging me $50.00 a month to use your card?" And he wouldn't answer me. He then said, "Well, there are interest charges that occur daily due to the banking fees etc." and started making no sense so I asked to speak to a supervisor.

Then he put me on hold for over 5 minutes (which I believe he was trying to see if I would just hang up) and came back and said I would have to wait about 5 minutes more while his supervisor was busy. I told him I thought it was very suspicious that I called to pay off my debt and I was being a good customer for this company but they treated me like I was a criminal; they were rude, short, unprofessional, crooked and unclear. I do not understand how a company like this is allowed to continue to keep its doors open, especially in the financial industry.

You can visit this link here: https://www.consumeraffairs.com/credit_cards/credit_one.html and see complaint after complaint and a terrible 1 star rating. I believe the rating system was put in place to protect people not just to rate businesses. So let's use the system correctly and shut down any financial company that has a 1 star rating. Thank you for your time and I hope that something is done so this company does not hurt anyone else or cause any more financial burden on our country's economy.

If you feel like being embarrassed by a card this is a good choice.

Like everyone else I wanted a company to help me with my credit. I thought I was applying at Capital One. To my dismay it was Credit One. They have the same logo as Capital One. When I called him out on it they beg me to stay with them and they will waive a part of my annual fee. I did. I decided to give them a try. Was the worst thing I ever did. I'm surprised the Attorney General haven't investigated this company. They charge me a $25 late fee when they receive my payment. It takes them 5 days to get the payment from your bank or payment center. And I think they do that intentionally so they could charge you the $25 late fee. Which basically give you a low credit score so it defeats the purpose. They are based overseas. They need to be investigated by the banking industry. Stay away from them.

Fees Fees Fees. They put a $45 fee on my card year 2 with no notification. If you want your payment to post right away, that costs $9.95. Only reason I'm keeping the card is if I cancel, I'll take a hit on my credit score. I will never charge anything on this card again.

OMG... the worst customer service EVER!! I still cannot use my credit card because it's locked. Here's my story and how it all began - I have a large limit, and paid my balance just over 1/2 of what was owed. Payment cleared my bank, then an unexpected emergency came up with a family member and I needed to purchase them some personal items, well while at Walmart I decided to shop for Thanksgiving dinner. Went to check out and use my card for a $397 purchase and it was declined! I was embarrassed beyond embarrassed because I didn't have another form of payment with me as I use (Walmart Pay) and only had this credit card loaded.

I called customer service and they said they lifted the restriction from my card to please wait 10 minutes and try the transaction again. I waited in line and had all my items scanned for a second time - AGAIN, my card declined the charge. I apologize and left the store again embarrassed. Went to my car and called the 800 number again, again they said they lifted the restriction and to please try another "location" in 30 minutes - I'm like um, what?? So, after making one more stop (using the little cash I had), I headed to yet another Walmart trying to make a $69 purchase (after being told to make a transaction under $100) and it would go through - Guess what? DECLINED again, at this point I'm in tears. I stood in line and called Customer Service with the agent on the line. After being advised my card was "GOOD" we tried to make the purchase and again - DECLINED.

The Customer Service person (which by the way) I could hardly understand, told me I would have to wait 24 hours for my card to clear (again), and that I could no longer try my card at Walmart, that I must find a new merchant to do business with... again, um, WHAT??? I apologize and walked out of yet another store leaving behind items I needed to purchase.

So after calling the following morning (yesterday Monday) I had to FAXING a copy of my driver's license, my husband's driver's license and UTILITY bills to prove my identity. So that's done and got a call that my card was good and I shouldn't have any issues when I go to use it. Well we're off to Target small purchase $66 guess what - DECLINED. Let's roll to today (Tuesday), received a call from Credit One stating I am 100% good to go. Went to Honey Baked to purchase our ham for Thanksgiving dinner and guess what (you got it) - DECLINED. I'm on the phone now and they are telling me they cannot reset my card as it's BLOCKED. Waiting on a Supervisor to close my account now. They can eat my balance as I won't be paying another dime.

After pounding random keys for 5 minutes, I was finally able to reach an "Ivan" who I'm not sure is really named Ivan given the Indian like accent. Tried to explain that the logins weren't happening... no errors or anything. The guy was absolutely clueless, it was like talking to a robot. Kept saying he apologized for whatever inconvenience over a dozen times during the call to which I told him no more apologizing.

Of course I was irate at this point in the call... vented on a couple of dispatches in the cue at the time telling them I was on the phone with a freaking card company. LOL! Anyway, the issue was never resolved and the problem was still ongoing as of a 23:40 ET login attempt on the 19th. The call was made before 09:00 ET. I waited almost 2 weeks and my payment was still not posted. My husband also has a Visa with them so I checked his account. He already had a zero balance on his account but they posted my check with my account number to his account giving him a credit of $1500. While my account still had a $1500 balance.

I called and brought the error to their attention and was given the runaround for 3 days. Even though I never Authorized them to apply my check to the wrong account they would not admit their error. My account number was written on the check and the incompetent customer service supervisor must have said, "I UNDERSTAND" 100 times but did absolutely nothing to resolve the matter. She DID NOT Understand and pissed me off by being condescending and saying they could Mail a check back to my husband for overpayment in 10 business days. With no guarantee that when I mailed it back it would be applied to the right account number???

Meanwhile they were collecting interest daily on my account and probably interest on the overpayment money. In this case, my husband had to call them and say it was alright to credit my money to my account as the statement and check told them to originally. The worse part was that what if it had been wrongly applied to the wrong account of someone I didn't know. In that case it turns into a dispute with arbitration and good luck getting your money back at all. Sadly, I spoke to 2 customer service reps and one supervisor that all lacked customer service skills.

This happened at the end of July 2018 and the beginning of November 2018. Each time a different address and number. The first thing they did was pay off the account. In July I caught it before they made any charges. in November they paid off my card then made charges. I think these were valid payments and I wonder who the payment amount was sent back too. Credit One Bank, the fraudulent person?

I am suspicious that this is an internal Credit One Bank Scam? Each time this happens balances are transferred and different fees are applied. I am not sure if Credit One Bank is keeping these fees or not, hence the CREDIT ONE BANK INTERNAL SCAM! I THINK CREDIT ONE BANK NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED! I called customer service - they said "we were unable to locate your account" - WTH does that mean? We verified the routing and account numbers exactly as they had been before. The only explanation I could get was, "maybe something has changed with your bank or you had one number wrong" - We JUST VERIFIED THE NUMBERS!!! I wanted them to take the payment over the phone and got them to waive the late fee, but they would not take the payment from the account - they wanted a debit card.

HMMM. I wanted them to use the account - they told me "if the payment is unable to go through this time your account will be automatically closed for 2 failed payments". We went back & forth for almost 20 min about how could Credit One not be able to locate the account, blah blah blah. I finally gave up and gave them the debit card number for the account just to get the ** call over with and move on. Genuinely disgusted with this company. I was mailed a new card back in July... Never received it. I noticed purchases had been made to the card via the app. Immediately called and reported the card lost/stolen. I was told all would be handled. NOT ONLY did they report the account with fraudulent activity to the credit bureaus which caused my credit score that I have worked my butt off for to go down 112 points overnight, but they then send me a letter informing me that I was responsible for the charges based on the card supposedly being sent to my address and activated from my phone number. I immediately pulled my phone records and have proof which has been faxed to them TWICE now proving that I did not call and activate the card.

Now here we are 3 months later... I just received a second letter stating that I am being held responsible for these charges for the same reasons. Despite the fact that I have proven not once, but twice that the call was not made from my phone. I genuinely feel like they are attempting to bully me into paying charges I did not make and every time you call they are as sweet as can be, but tell you they can't do anything. I have literally wasted HOURS upon HOURS of my time dealing with this situation and at this point I have no other recourse than to turn to social media in hopes that something will be done. I have talked to customer service, account managers, the fraud department who never calls back mind you... All will tell you they will take care of it and nothing happens. I spoke to the fraud department last week and the woman I spoke with told me if I did not hear back from her the charges would be taken care of and my account would be rectified.

So here I am like an idiot waiting to see the account be reconciled via the app... 1 day, 2 days, 3 days, 4 days, etc, etc and then receive another letter stating that I am being held responsible for the charges yet again. If I were anyone looking at this page or post I would stay as far away from Credit One bank as humanly possible. This company does not care about you, they don't care about what's right or wrong, they only care about destroying your credit and wasting your time. I have had my Credit One Bank Visa for just over a year. I also had a card with them back in 2010 to help establish credit. This card is targeted at those with poor/rebuilding credit, not at those who are totally new to credit. That being said, this card arrives to you already owing them $75 for the first annual fee. After one year, you are charged a hefty monthly fee of $8.25, labeled as the “annual fee.” The interest rate is high, but not as bad as First Premier Bank. Payments take 5 business days become available, and even paying the express payment fee of $9.95 will only allow $100 to be available the following day and the rest in 5 days.

Making a large payment signals a freeze to your account and they will make you verify your checking account on several occasions, even if you’ve already verified it prior. The worst part for me is when I noticed an unauthorized charge, they don’t credit your account in a timely manner like other banks and credit cards. Instead, they take 60 days, and continue reporting the fraudulent charge to your credit reports as a valid charge, which shows you have a high balance than you really do. Customer service is horrible and located in the Philippines. They read from scripts, repeat your question, then respond like a robot. I found that when having a major issue, the office of the president (corporate office) was the only real customer service. Unfortunately I had to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau just to get my complaint to the office of the president with Credit One bank.

The only advantages with this card is that with responsible use, they will periodically offer you a credit limit increase. The credit limit increases come with a $24.95 fee per increase! If you are looking to rebuild your credit I would recommend saving up at least 1k and applying for a secured card with Capital One. While Credit One Bank throws their cards out like candy, they come with initially really low credit limits which hurt your credit and force you to never spend much to keep the card under 25% utilization.

I was initially approved for a $400 credit line last year but now my credit limit is 1K. I believe the highest credit limit anyone can obtain with Credit One is $1,500. I plan on keeping this card for several more years, until old collections fall off my report, but I will rarely use it for purchases. Another great card to consider, if you save up the money, is a Discover Secured Card. I forgot to mention that if your payment is ever returned to Credit One, they will immediately close your account! I typed this review as things came to mind so sorry that I skipped back-and-forth.

I wanted to build up my credit so I got a Credit One card. The first couple of years were just fine. No problems paying online, didn't do express pay as I never needed to use the card asap with a low balance. Things were wonderful. I have trouble remembering what is due when so the email reminders were important to me. They were sent and received like clockwork. Then I got a call from them and was told I had missed a couple of payments. I was shocked as I had never missed a payment. I thought that maybe my Gmail started putting the messages into spam folder for some reason but when I did a search for the emails I found nothing. I found the last reminder I got but then nothing. Looked at the spam folder itself in case it was automatically deleted at some point, but there was still emails in there from before I got the last one from Credit One.

I went online to make a payment but was told my account was frozen and I had to call a certain number. I called it and after an unremembered amount of time the phone would hang up. I tried ten times to call and each time I was disconnected. Just suddenly would say "Thank you, goodbye." Never talked to another human or machine from the company again. Tried the number on the card and it wouldn't even go through. They never called me again about the late payments. Next time I heard from them was through my credit report. They absolutely ruined my credit. Never heard from a collection agency about the debt either, but it is still on my credit report and continues to weigh it down.

Forgetting my struggles, my husband recently got one of their cards to improve his credit. He asked me to check the balance on his card as it was declined at the store and he has only used it once. I tried using Chrome, but the site wouldn't load so I had to use Firefox. I entered what I believed was the log in information but was told that it wasn't. I tried to recover the information and after filling out all the information asked for I hit the continue button and nothing happened. Looked at the website html code (I'm a web designer) and the JavaScript is empty. It was a button to nowhere.

Tried to register since it's quite possible it wasn't registered yet and after filling out the form I hit the button and was told that I needed to fill out all the information in red as everything with an asterisk was required. The entire form was red. All the information I had entered was removed and the form was empty and red. Tried twice and got the same result. Told my husband to try it where he's at just to rule out any location issues they might have although I am in the same location I've always been in when making payments online.

I realized I didn't have money in my bank account to cover the charge so I went to cancel the payment. With this company you can't cancel payments. So I guess the payment got returned the company closed my account of 6.46 then said I had an outstanding balance. This is crazy. I called the company. They stated that the account was closed and could not be reopened. Over 6.46.

I never get a credit card with an annual fee, but it wasn’t obvious. Blurred in the fine print; $95 Annual Fee <— Ripoff; Upon approval acceptance you're automatically in debt $95. Payments: delayed 4 to 5 days; you can expedite for $10 or $15 dollars. Another Scam: <— Ripoff. Here’s where they shine: Based in Las Vegas, NV but their customer service is based in the Philippines. You using voice over IP: Can a company be any more cheaper. Predatory institution. Poor business ethics by outsourcing to a 3rd world country, not keeping business values at home. US labor laws cannot be enforced. Slave labor, no oversight. Customer Service, is a joke, they read from scripts, repeat your questions to you, and provide a moronic answer. You get preapproved in a snap because you begin by owing them $95.

Updated on 09/27/2018: I closed my account with Credit One Bank. Three days later I discover the closed account had a $7.** negative balance. Had to call in to find out where charge came from. Was informed that the billing cycle had closed and that was the interest owed. Agitated said ‘on a closed account.’ Yes, that’s in the terms and conditions. I finished telling the phone rep, you obviously don’t live in the U. S. (He was in the Philippines) and you obviously don’t know the law. We were done and hung up. Called back, asked to speak to corporate office, got a supervisor instead. I stated it was against the law to charge interest on closed accounts. Got transferred to another supervisor who reviewed the account quickly then stated they were sorry this happened, but she would waive the insurance fees.

I stated that there’s a glitch in the program. When someone calls to get the payoff amount, pays and closes the account. No more activity is allowed. Then to have reps on the phone stating you have to pay the fee’s is highly illegal and government regulators need to review the banking system software. If it happened to me, it’s happening to others. I wonder what other glitches they find. I told her to alert management for I would be reporting this issue. Thus; this posting, and Yes, Government Regulators does need to review the banks processes.

The issues; Asking for a payoff amount, rep’s don’t know how to give proper info for a close account amount request. Rep’s trying to collect funds erroneously and have no clue they're doing so illegally, lacking proper education or understanding of the banking laws. Banking software adding interest on a zeroed out, closed account. Other banking flaws most likely exist. A confidence review of their system is prudent. I am glad I no longer have to deal with this horrible institution ever again. Worst experience ever with a banking institution.

These were not my monthly payments as they were always taken care of and I had 100% payment history on my account. They do not clear the blocks even though they state it will be removed 24-48 hours after your call with them. Furthermore, they will move your payment due date up a day keeping in mind that you are unable to see this because the account is "temporarily blocked". They also do not allow automatic payments thereby collecting as many fees as possible from their customers.

If you don't get it in writing when you close your account they will scam you out of late fees/annual fees and your credit score will be impacted in the negative. Get everything in writing if you want to close your account. Get the name of the CS person too. Get a paper statement with proof of closure. Check your credit score. Check your credit reports. They will not do as they say.

On May 20th 2018, I called Credit One to find out why I did not have a current credit card. I found out that they had mailed it to my old address. They also had inaccurate information about my email address and my phone number which I tried to update in their system but was unable to. I spoke to a young man with a thick accent. I told him I did not want to keep the account open because of the missing card that had been mailed a year prior. I also said that I had just paid off the balance and I wanted to close the account. I was told that I would owe no further fees or any annual fee.

I asked specifically about the annual fee. I told him I would pay off whatever I owed legally to close the account. He assured me that the account was now closed and that I would owe nothing further. I did not get this in writing via a letter of any kind which I thought I had requested. I noticed as of August 14 2018 that my credit score has dropping. I thought about it and realized it was probably Credit One because they are well known to exploit their credit card users by tacking on late fees, annual fees, and essentially exploiting the people they are supposed to serve. That was it. BINGO!

Credit One has a history of complaints from the Better Business Bureau. Pattern of Complaints from BBB: "BBB files indicate that this business has a pattern of complaints concerning billing/collection issues. Complainants allege that this Credit One Bank charges consumers, sometimes repeatedly, without authorization, which may include late or unexplained fees. Complainants also allege that Credit One Bank forwards incorrect information to credit reporting agencies such as Equifax, Experian and TransUnion."

The CS person I spoke to on August 14, 2018 named Jacop told me that I owed $103.00 dollars and that I had "two missed payments". I told him that any late fees or annual fees were supposed to be non existent dues to the fact that I paid off the card and closed it. He said he would put my balance to 0.00 but I am waiting for a formal letter. I had to contact TransUnion, and the rest. I will wait for my proof, but I am filing with the FCC and the BBB. This company essentially preys on people trying to build up their credit. Get it in writing! Watch your back!
