Using a credit card is both a responsibility and a discipline. Long ago, the death of a spouse plummeted me into poor credit rating, so the climb out began. Beware of this resource. Owning this card is a mine field. First of all, this is a obviously a credit-building credit card; it targets the "low-end" customer and the vendor truly takes aim at that customer and fires hard. Though they have a fairly impressive user infrastructure online (hence, the star) surcharges for "express pay" and "custom card designs" are just a few things designed to bilk the unsuspecting.

I have an excellent payment record, but recently made a move overseas - come to find out, many (if not most) countries are locked out of the website and phone app. Two other banks I use work just fine. When I contacted COB long distance by phone, they tried to spin it (with a thick foreign accent, no less) as a positive, saying, "we block our site in foreign countries on purpose to protect our customers." I had to laugh out loud, because it's a scheme - if you don't have a VPN (I finally got one), you will not be able to log on, your bill will lapse with late payment... Your credit rating will go deeper in the toilet and the entire purpose of getting such a card is defeated.

The moral of the story? Pay this off, and run far, far away from Credit One Bank. Your good credit is the furthest thing from their minds. PS - I tried to leave this happy review on their website (5500 reviews listed, most of them a love-fest) there was no way to leave a comment! That's what happens when you no doubt pay a company to write bogus ones.

I have had this card for a year. I have had to make late payments on a few occasions because the website is almost always down. I do not like giving my information over the phone. Then their website wouldn't allow me to log in saying my password was incorrect. Even after several resets, it would say the temporary password was incorrect as well. They told me I had to download the app. I downloaded it and when I tried to put in my banking information the routing number was off one digit.

Then they told me because I was off 1 digit I had to get a letter from my bank to get the ban lifted from my online access which is just ludicrous. So I called and paid it off and was just going to close the account but conveniently they closed it for me without telling me why or that they planned to close it to begin with. Now my credit report is packed full of late payments because of their consistently broken website and the worst customer service I have ever dealt with.

I wish I could give this crap of a company ZERO stars. Please stay away. Best not to have a credit card than be associated with this company. I honestly don't know how they are in business and you can never talk to someone in the States. The workers are literally clueless and you'll never get any help from them. I had fraud on my account in April of 2018, still haven't received my refund even though I received a new card and a letter stating they did investigation and that it wasn't my charges and I will be receiving a refund. I call every week since but they keep giving run around. Basically the head doesn't know what the arm is doing. The minute I get my refund I'm closing this account. I have better cards with way higher limits and NO annual fees or monthly BS fees. Don't need them. Can't wait to close my account!

This company sucks. Fees are ridiculous, if you are late on 1 payment, they will call you 30 times a day from different numbers. The numbers are somehow always local to your current location and I have location turned off in the app on my phone. If you make your payments on time, it's hard to get a credit line increase. Plus they do not have an auto pay option like my other credit card companies have. Never missed a payment with Capital One doing auto pay. But don't get me started on their fees and lack of customer service either. Pay off your cards with this company and shred them. Garbage.

I would not refer this company to anyone. Someone had fraud on my Credit Card and I called it in before it actually went through and this company told me it would take 3 months to get my money recovered. WHAT credit card company makes you wait 3 months (during Christmas season) to reimburse you funds or make them available. So basically my money was stolen, and now this company is penalizing me for them letting a security breach through their own system. I wouldn't stay away from them if I were you. I personally can't now because they are holding my money hostage.

I received pre-qualified offer, figured okay I can use my main card less and use this card for random small purchases. Card arrives - I call to activate then I go online to activate online access and the nightmare begins. 5 calls in fifteen minutes I had to make as I kept getting error messages saying everything from ID and password not accepted or don’t match, computers down, one customer rep told me to answer security questions. Only thing is as I am not able to register I HAVE NO security questions set up, then they told me last four digits of social were out of sequence YET the four previous customer service reps had no issue as they too confirmed my social when I called.

Also no supervisor was available when I repeatedly asked for one and finally after being on hold for five minutes or more I finally told CS rep I will call back as this is terrible customer service. I check periodically and the website still appears to be down. I am unable to access my account online. Based upon this and reviews I now see patterns with this company. Will be reporting them to Better Business as well.

This is one of the most horrible credit card approval I have ever experienced. Trying to build my credit score has CA it set me a decrease in my score. Approved for $300 and leaving me the availability to spend $150. On top of that a $75 annual fee was taken as soon as I received the card. A recent incident occurred 11/4/2018 via communication received the breach the customer's accounts and there was nothing to worry about. I tried paying my bill online and discovered my bank account information was gone and a debit card information that I pay my bill from is gone.

I spoke with a representative today 11/8/2018 regarding this suspicious violation. I was told I never had an account registered. Why is an outright alternative fact. I was put on hold because the icon wouldn't allow me to make a payment and stated that I needed to add a bank account. The icon was gold stating add bank account and it didn't work. The representative walked me the same process I had attempted. It allowed me to log in to my credit account that is set up with the user name and password. She put me on hold while she consulted with a higher official. When she returned she informed me to add my bank account information which was then showing a blue screen.

I stated I am totally afraid because I want to know what happened to all my other personal information that had been deleted out. She kept trying to convince me that I never had a bank account set up nor did I add a Brinks debit card. I informed her that I have save all email data received from Credit One Bank and I will be filing a complaint. I was able to pay my bill today using my bank account information that had been deleted previously. This company is a fraud and I or as I don't have any complications paying them off and cancel the card I received from them. The cash back is fraudulent too!!!

I have paid this credit card off and I noticed they were charging monthly fees between $8.25-$8.66 every month. I couldn't figure out why. When I called, they did inform me that, "Yes, it is monthly fees". They connect me to Account Specialist and they acted like they were going to do me a favor by taking the monthly fee away until JULY 2019. I have excellent credit and I've had this credit card since 2002 (16 years). I do not remember having to pay a monthly fee like this. Also, they sent out mass texts on "Your payment is overdue". I freaked out! I have a $0 balance. Credit One says it was a system error. You would think with all the money they are ripping people off with the monthly charges, they would be able to keep their system running smoothly.

I am going to blog about this card company that needs to be put out of business. I receive an offer via mail. Accepted the offer without researching the history and customer reviews. That's my fault. I have only been able to use my card once. Each and every other transaction has been declined due to let them tell it to protect your card from fraudulent charges. I will call. Confirm it was me. I'm then told I have to wait 30 min then I can try again. However if it does not work use another card or wait 24 hrs. Are you serious? Once I verify I have to go thru all of this.

So I have only had this card going on #4 days now. I have an available balance and each time I try to use my card it's declined. A block is put on. I have to contact customer service and go thru the wait 30 mins etc. Even after the wait it won't go thru. I can't believe you're able to issue people anything. I keep calling prior to using the card thinking that might work. They put notes on my account saying I'm going to be making purchase. The merchant name and the amount still DECLINED. THIS IS BAD BUSINESS. VERY BAD THAT CUSTOMERS GET TREATED LIKE THIS. I wouldn't recommend your card to anyone and I'm going to complain on every site I can. I want people to know what you go thru.

This credit card company is by far the worst I have ever dealt with! I got a card with a 300$ credit limit in February of 2016. I have paid three times the amount I have borrowed and still have a 650$ bill! When I try to pay my bill online they let me go log in and approve a payment then at the end they display a barely visible message saying I’m locked out of my account and in order to make a payment I have to call. Then when I call they usually charge a fee for paying it over the phone. The first few times a didn’t see the tiny error message and then was charge an outrageous late fee. They also charge a MONTHLY membership fee of about 12-13$! The interest rates are also thru the roof! This company screws you over. DO NOT GET!

I've had a card from Credit One for roughly 4 months. In my second month, I was unable to reach their website from home or work trying to make a payment the day before my due date. The site was not working. I called them and they refused to acknowledge that the site was down, and told me I had to pay a fee to make a payment over the phone. I was not happy. 2 months later, I get a text from them that my payment is late. How can that be? I check my Outlook calendar, where I keep all my monthly payments as recurring appointments, and there is Credit One on the 16th each month. Today is only the 6th. I checked my last payment made to them, it was on the 14th of November. How can I possibly be late?? I try to log in, site won't respond. I VPN into work from my computer (home internet is Comcast, work is FIOS), thinking maybe it's a Comcast thing. Nope. Can't reach their site from my work PC either.

I try to call the customer service number on the back of the card.. 4 rings, then it goes to a busy signal. They are unreachable. Again. I carry a low balance and use this card for no other reason than to boost my credit score, but clearly this company is shady and takes advantage of poor people. I feel sorry for the people who likely depend on the credit from this company, because if you can't just pay off the card, you are caught in a high-fee debt trap where they clearly will be non-responsive, callus when you do reach them, and suddenly changing earlier due dates is just another trick up their sleeve to indenture you further into their credit vacuum.

I've considered that they maybe even block people individually in order to create these scenarios where you are late and cannot make payments through any channels... I believe this could be true just from reading other people's issues with them and doing the math. Stay away from Credit One, simple as that. They are cash-vampires.

Latest episode - I just received a text message saying the account I closed nearly A YEAR AGO, is past due! I called for the 5th time (yes, I'm keeping track) to find out why I received this annoying text. After twenty minutes on hold, a rep comes on the line and says they are having "systems issues" and asked me to call back in one or two hours and said, "Thank you for calling" and hung up on me without my being able to utter a single word. I called back again and after waiting 30 minutes this time, I interrupted the rep trying to say the same thing again and asked why I received a text saying my year-long closed account had an overdue balance and I was told that their "system error" was sending out text messages telling their customers they had overdue balances. The rep couldn't check to tell me anything about my supposedly closed account either.

The department that I needed to speak to so I could pay off and CLOSE this account was conveniently closed every time I called there so I couldn't even close this account. I missed ONE payment by two days due to some issues with my computer dying and having to buy a new one. They refused to allow me to do so and after the three weeks of being jerked around by them I finally find out they have SOLD MY ACCOUNT to a collection agency! I asked for their information so I may contact them to pay off this account and they told me THEY CANNOT TELL ME WHO BOUGHT MY $300 debt! They refused to let me pay the card off and close it. So now I sit here with a $300 debt on my credit rating and it getting worse every day that goes by because I have NOT been contacted by whomever bought this debt which makes it impossible to pay off and correct. Called to resolve it and I need the monthly due date and the account number. I do not know the monthly due date because I pay everything on the first of every month regardless of when it's actually due. I have to log on to the site in order to get the information that they need and I cannot do that because they locked the account but the fees and interest charges are still adding daily.

I've called them 5 times since the 19th of November 2018 (when I was notified of possible fraud activity), and every time I call I get the same answer out of everyone "because of security reasons we cannot move forward with the call". I ask them how I can verify my identity and I get the same answer. I've managed to rack up almost 700 dollars in the course of a month without ever using the card. Can't pay my bill because I can't get on to my account, can't get the account number or due date because I cannot get on to my account and none of the people I have talked to have bothered to listen to the questions I'm asking them and just give me the same answer every time.

As soon as I am able to if I'll ever be able to, I'm canceling the card and never looking back even if it has a negative effect on my credit it is just not worth it. Do not take one of these cards from this company...even if they send you a card in the mail without even applying which is how I think I got this card. Used this card while traveling on vacation for a few hotels. Not a large balance. Have always received my statements in my mailbox NOT my email. Your email is a bad place. Just one more room for error and forget to pay is what I say so I never do it.

3 months go by and no statement. I didn't know, I have a few credit cards and I pay them all every month before they are due. I go to use the card at the dentist for $84 and it's declined. Hmmm So I go online to my account to see what's going on but I can't see what's going on because they have figured out how to hide all of this from you!!!

I call the customer service number and talk with a couple ladies and a supervisor. It appears they have charged me 3 late fees adding up to $95 and an annual fee of $45 to boot. WHAT! I finally convince them to reverse the late fees because I have not seen hide nor hair of a statement, it didn't come in my mailbox like it was supposed to. It's not in my email or spam folder, matter of fact they told me that my email address was not valid even though they had the correct one and we verified IT WAS WORKING. Then I went into my Account Settings to see if Paperless was ON or OFF. There it was... Someone had changed the setting to ON so that I would not receive them in the US mail. I didn't do it, I would not do that and it wasn't accidental because the settings are in a total different section from everything else.

After that was handled now I need to talk to another department to clear my credit from these unwanted effects. NO GO. No one will fess up or help with this one. Supervisor (crony) keeps going round in circles and won't listen to a word I am saying, keeps cutting me off, will not agree to even try to fix this blunder and black mark on my credit score, says I have to file a dispute with Credit One and the bureau. Says that one of the statements they sent to me (same address for over 4 years) came back to them undeliverable. HA! Never tried to send me a letter. Going to pull some money from savings to take care of the small balance and get rid of this card ASAP. Don't do this one... They WILL get you.

My monthly payments are $35.00 a month, I pay $75.00 a month. I locked the card away over a year ago and haven't touched it yet. After a year of payments my available credit is $52.00 of a $700.00 limit. Last year before I locked up the card I paid $700.00 to pay off the card so I could use it in Vegas, by the time I got to LV my card was locked and I could not use it and my balance was $735.00. I called to see what was going on with my card this morning and was given the runaround and told there was an $8.00 a month annual fee and a $6.00 insurance fee. They said there were no other fees. I wanted to close the account but was told that I would continue to be charged these fee even though I no longer had an account with this bank. Plus they keep pushing a $150.oo credit increase for a $25.00 one time fee. Something is rotten at Credit One Bank.

My complaint is regarding deceptive behavior and financial fraud that is the standard of business at Credit One Bank. I opened a card with Credit One in September 2018 to help build and establish my credit. I had received a mailer from them saying I was pre-approved for an account. Nowhere in the paperwork does it tell you that they charge you a $50 fee every month to use the card. It is a hidden fee. And even when you call them and ask they dance around the topic.

I called in today (November 27, 2018 at 10:30 am Pacific) to check on my balance because it seemed high and didn't add up with my recent charges in the last two months. I just started a new job where I fly to San Francisco from Las Vegas so I have only been using this card for work and paying it off each month to build my credit. But since I wasn't told about the $50.00 charge, my balance wasn't paid off (in their hidden terms) and I was accruing interest each day on top of the fee!

When I called in today, I asked if the customer service rep could explain my balance charges to me and he kept having trouble explaining what they were. This concerned me. So I asked fiance to listen in as well and we both asked the rep to please clearly answer our questions about what we were being charged. I asked "If I pay off my balance in full today and have a zero balance, will I have any charges next month from you, if I don't use my card?" And he said, "NO except for interest charges!" And I said, "Interest on what?" then he said, "Well for using the card." And I said, "So you are telling me that you are charging me $50.00 a month to use your card?" And he wouldn't answer me. He then said, "Well, there are interest charges that occur daily due to the banking fees etc." and started making no sense so I asked to speak to a supervisor.

Then he put me on hold for over 5 minutes (which I believe he was trying to see if I would just hang up) and came back and said I would have to wait about 5 minutes more while his supervisor was busy. I told him I thought it was very suspicious that I called to pay off my debt and I was being a good customer for this company but they treated me like I was a criminal; they were rude, short, unprofessional, crooked and unclear. I do not understand how a company like this is allowed to continue to keep its doors open, especially in the financial industry.

You can visit this link here: https://www.consumeraffairs.com/credit_cards/credit_one.html and see complaint after complaint and a terrible 1 star rating. I believe the rating system was put in place to protect people not just to rate businesses. So let's use the system correctly and shut down any financial company that has a 1 star rating. Thank you for your time and I hope that something is done so this company does not hurt anyone else or cause any more financial burden on our country's economy.

They lock my card up after 6 months... I asked them for a reason. They gave me a few excuses. The first was because of the merchant...really Walmart. The second was suspicious activities. I used the card about twice that week. One was Wawa. The other was Walmart. Then they told me they cannot unlock my card until I provide a copy of my license and residence by mail and when they receive, it would take 7 to 10 business days to unlock. If you feel like being embarrassed by a card this is a good choice.

Like everyone else I wanted a company to help me with my credit. I thought I was applying at Capital One. To my dismay it was Credit One. They have the same logo as Capital One. When I called him out on it they beg me to stay with them and they will waive a part of my annual fee. I did. I decided to give them a try. Was the worst thing I ever did. I'm surprised the Attorney General haven't investigated this company. They charge me a $25 late fee when they receive my payment. It takes them 5 days to get the payment from your bank or payment center. And I think they do that intentionally so they could charge you the $25 late fee. Which basically give you a low credit score so it defeats the purpose. They are based overseas. They need to be investigated by the banking industry. Stay away from them.

OMG... the worst customer service EVER!! I still cannot use my credit card because it's locked. Here's my story and how it all began - I have a large limit, and paid my balance just over 1/2 of what was owed. Payment cleared my bank, then an unexpected emergency came up with a family member and I needed to purchase them some personal items, well while at Walmart I decided to shop for Thanksgiving dinner. Went to check out and use my card for a $397 purchase and it was declined! I was embarrassed beyond embarrassed because I didn't have another form of payment with me as I use (Walmart Pay) and only had this credit card loaded.

I called customer service and they said they lifted the restriction from my card to please wait 10 minutes and try the transaction again. I waited in line and had all my items scanned for a second time - AGAIN, my card declined the charge. I apologize and left the store again embarrassed. Went to my car and called the 800 number again, again they said they lifted the restriction and to please try another "location" in 30 minutes - I'm like um, what?? So, after making one more stop (using the little cash I had), I headed to yet another Walmart trying to make a $69 purchase (after being told to make a transaction under $100) and it would go through - Guess what? DECLINED again, at this point I'm in tears. I stood in line and called Customer Service with the agent on the line. After being advised my card was "GOOD" we tried to make the purchase and again - DECLINED.

The Customer Service person (which by the way) I could hardly understand, told me I would have to wait 24 hours for my card to clear (again), and that I could no longer try my card at Walmart, that I must find a new merchant to do business with... again, um, WHAT??? I apologize and walked out of yet another store leaving behind items I needed to purchase.

So after calling the following morning (yesterday Monday) I had to FAXING a copy of my driver's license, my husband's driver's license and UTILITY bills to prove my identity. So that's done and got a call that my card was good and I shouldn't have any issues when I go to use it. Well we're off to Target small purchase $66 guess what - DECLINED. Let's roll to today (Tuesday), received a call from Credit One stating I am 100% good to go. Went to Honey Baked to purchase our ham for Thanksgiving dinner and guess what (you got it) - DECLINED. I'm on the phone now and they are telling me they cannot reset my card as it's BLOCKED. Waiting on a Supervisor to close my account now. They can eat my balance as I won't be paying another dime.

He already had a zero balance on his account but they posted my check with my account number to his account giving him a credit of $1500. While my account still had a $1500 balance.

I called and brought the error to their attention and was given the runaround for 3 days. Even though I never Authorized them to apply my check to the wrong account they would not admit their error. My account number was written on the check and the incompetent customer service supervisor must have said, "I UNDERSTAND" 100 times but did absolutely nothing to resolve the matter. She DID NOT Understand and pissed me off by being condescending and saying they could Mail a check back to my husband for overpayment in 10 business days. With no guarantee that when I mailed it back it would be applied to the right account number???

Meanwhile they were collecting interest daily on my account and probably interest on the overpayment money. In this case, my husband had to call them and say it was alright to credit my money to my account as the statement and check told them to originally. The worse part was that what if it had been wrongly applied to the wrong account of someone I didn't know. In that case it turns into a dispute with arbitration and good luck getting your money back at all. Sadly, I spoke to 2 customer service reps and one supervisor that all lacked customer service skills.

In July I caught it before they made any charges. in November they paid off my card then made charges. I think these were valid payments and I wonder who the payment amount was sent back too. Credit One Bank, the fraudulent person?

I am suspicious that this is an internal Credit One Bank Scam? Each time this happens balances are transferred and different fees are applied. I am not sure if Credit One Bank is keeping these fees or not, hence the CREDIT ONE BANK INTERNAL SCAM! I THINK CREDIT ONE BANK NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED! I called customer service - they said "we were unable to locate your account" - WTH does that mean? We verified the routing and account numbers exactly as they had been before. The only explanation I could get was, "maybe something has changed with your bank or you had one number wrong" - We JUST VERIFIED THE NUMBERS!!! I wanted them to take the payment over the phone and got them to waive the late fee, but they would not take the payment from the account - they wanted a debit card.

HMMM. I wanted them to use the account - they told me "if the payment is unable to go through this time your account will be automatically closed for 2 failed payments". We went back & forth for almost 20 min about how could Credit One not be able to locate the account, blah blah blah. I finally gave up and gave them the debit card number for the account just to get the ** call over with and move on. I noticed purchases had been made to the card via the app. Immediately called and reported the card lost/stolen. I was told all would be handled. NOT ONLY did they report the account with fraudulent activity to the credit bureaus which caused my credit score that I have worked my butt off for to go down 112 points overnight, but they then send me a letter informing me that I was responsible for the charges based on the card supposedly being sent to my address and activated from my phone number. I immediately pulled my phone records and have proof which has been faxed to them TWICE now proving that I did not call and activate the card.

Now here we are 3 months later... I just received a second letter stating that I am being held responsible for these charges for the same reasons. Despite the fact that I have proven not once, but twice that the call was not made from my phone. I genuinely feel like they are attempting to bully me into paying charges I did not make and every time you call they are as sweet as can be, but tell you they can't do anything. I have literally wasted HOURS upon HOURS of my time dealing with this situation and at this point I have no other recourse than to turn to social media in hopes that something will be done. I have talked to customer service, account managers, the fraud department who never calls back mind you... All will tell you they will take care of it and nothing happens. I spoke to the fraud department last week and the woman I spoke with told me if I did not hear back from her the charges would be taken care of and my account would be rectified.

So here I am like an idiot waiting to see the account be reconciled via the app... 1 day, 2 days, 3 days, 4 days, etc, etc and then receive another letter stating that I am being held responsible for the charges yet again. If I were anyone looking at this page or post I would stay as far away from Credit One bank as humanly possible. This company does not care about you, they don't care about what's right or wrong, they only care about destroying your credit and wasting your time. Receive a letter a couple days later from Credit One Bank saying because of that check, my account was close and sold to someone else to collect the balance that was due AND would be sent to credit bureau as a charge off.

As like most people I got this card to better my credit. It has done the exact opposite. You start off already owing them $95 for an annual fee. That there should be a statement. I had a $300 credit line to start off with. I then lost my job and feel behind on a few payments. I now owe $916.05!!! I've called and tried to work something out so I can avoid these late fees but they want $300 every month and I can't afford that. You're better off getting a secured credit card and using that responsibly. This company needs legal action taken against them.

I paid my Credit One bill on time every month using their online payment system. One time, the payment was apparently rejected because the bank information was incorrect (it was the same banking info I had used for EVERY payment). They abruptly closed my account preventing any further online access. I had no knowledge of this until I got a letter in the regular mail. I called them and they told me that the banking info was incorrect. I gave them the banking information over the phone (the same info that should have been in their system) and paid my monthly payment. THEY NEVER REINSTATED THE ACCOUNT and on top of that DINGED MY CREDIT FOR A LATE PAYMENT! I am now trying to sort this out and have paid my account in full and closed the account. CREDIT ONE BANK are a terrible company. Do not do business with them.

This has been the absolute worst experience. Each month they strategically changes things/policies causing it increasingly difficult to make payments. They won't allow you to set up automatic payments, nor will they allow you to call to make a payment. They charge ridiculous fees, and try to make new obstacles for you to face when trying to pay your monthly bills (I'm assuming they do this in hopes you'll miss the payment, therefore having to pay them more money). I honestly can go on, but the whole point is just do not even consider. These people will hurt you more than help you. I never write a review or make a complaint, but I did this solely to help someone, or anyone else keep from making a regrettable mistake. Credit is very Important here in the U.S, these people will for sure find a way to mess it up for you, unless you just have endless funds to pay ridiculous amounts. Just be warned.

I have had my Credit One Bank Visa for just over a year. I also had a card with them back in 2010 to help establish credit. This card is targeted at those with poor/rebuilding credit, not at those who are totally new to credit. That being said, this card arrives to you already owing them $75 for the first annual fee. After one year, you are charged a hefty monthly fee of $8.25, labeled as the “annual fee.” The interest rate is high, but not as bad as First Premier Bank. Payments take 5 business days become available, and even paying the express payment fee of $9.95 will only allow $100 to be available the following day and the rest in 5 days.

Making a large payment signals a freeze to your account and they will make you verify your checking account on several occasions, even if you’ve already verified it prior. The worst part for me is when I noticed an unauthorized charge, they don’t credit your account in a timely manner like other banks and credit cards. Instead, they take 60 days, and continue reporting the fraudulent charge to your credit reports as a valid charge, which shows you have a high balance than you really do. Customer service is horrible and located in the Philippines. They read from scripts, repeat your question, then respond like a robot. I found that when having a major issue, the office of the president (corporate office) was the only real customer service. Unfortunately I had to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau just to get my complaint to the office of the president with Credit One bank.

The only advantages with this card is that with responsible use, they will periodically offer you a credit limit increase. The credit limit increases come with a $24.95 fee per increase! If you are looking to rebuild your credit I would recommend saving up at least 1k and applying for a secured card with Capital One. While Credit One Bank throws their cards out like candy, they come with initially really low credit limits which hurt your credit and force you to never spend much to keep the card under 25% utilization.

I was initially approved for a $400 credit line last year but now my credit limit is 1K. I believe the highest credit limit anyone can obtain with Credit One is $1,500. I plan on keeping this card for several more years, until old collections fall off my report, but I will rarely use it for purchases. Another great card to consider, if you save up the money, is a Discover Secured Card. I forgot to mention that if your payment is ever returned to Credit One, they will immediately close your account! I typed this review as things came to mind so sorry that I skipped back-and-forth.

I wanted to build up my credit so I got a Credit One card. The first couple of years were just fine. No problems paying online, didn't do express pay as I never needed to use the card asap with a low balance. Things were wonderful. I have trouble remembering what is due when so the email reminders were important to me. They were sent and received like clockwork. Then I got a call from them and was told I had missed a couple of payments. I was shocked as I had never missed a payment. I thought that maybe my Gmail started putting the messages into spam folder for some reason but when I did a search for the emails I found nothing. I found the last reminder I got but then nothing. Looked at the spam folder itself in case it was automatically deleted at some point, but there was still emails in there from before I got the last one from Credit One.

I went online to make a payment but was told my account was frozen and I had to call a certain number. I called it and after an unremembered amount of time the phone would hang up. I tried ten times to call and each time I was disconnected. Just suddenly would say "Thank you, goodbye." Never talked to another human or machine from the company again. Tried the number on the card and it wouldn't even go through. They never called me again about the late payments. Next time I heard from them was through my credit report. They absolutely ruined my credit. Never heard from a collection agency about the debt either, but it is still on my credit report and continues to weigh it down.

Forgetting my struggles, my husband recently got one of their cards to improve his credit. He asked me to check the balance on his card as it was declined at the store and he has only used it once. I tried using Chrome, but the site wouldn't load so I had to use Firefox. I entered what I believed was the log in information but was told that it wasn't. I tried to recover the information and after filling out all the information asked for I hit the continue button and nothing happened. Looked at the website html code (I'm a web designer) and the JavaScript is empty. It was a button to nowhere.

Tried to register since it's quite possible it wasn't registered yet and after filling out the form I hit the button and was told that I needed to fill out all the information in red as everything with an asterisk was required. The entire form was red. All the information I had entered was removed and the form was empty and red. Tried twice and got the same result. Told my husband to try it where he's at just to rule out any location issues they might have although I am in the same location I've always been in when making payments online.

Payments: delayed 4 to 5 days; you can expedite for $10 or $15 dollars. Another Scam: <— Ripoff. Here’s where they shine: Based in Las Vegas, NV but their customer service is based in the Philippines. You using voice over IP: Can a company be any more cheaper. Predatory institution. Poor business ethics by outsourcing to a 3rd world country, not keeping business values at home. US labor laws cannot be enforced. Slave labor, no oversight. Customer Service, is a joke, they read from scripts, repeat your questions to you, and provide a moronic answer. You get preapproved in a snap because you begin by owing them $95.

Updated on 09/27/2018: I closed my account with Credit One Bank. Three days later I discover the closed account had a $7.** negative balance. Had to call in to find out where charge came from. Was informed that the billing cycle had closed and that was the interest owed. Agitated said ‘on a closed account.’ Yes, that’s in the terms and conditions. I finished telling the phone rep, you obviously don’t live in the U. S. (He was in the Philippines) and you obviously don’t know the law. We were done and hung up. Called back, asked to speak to corporate office, got a supervisor instead. I stated it was against the law to charge interest on closed accounts. Got transferred to another supervisor who reviewed the account quickly then stated they were sorry this happened, but she would waive the insurance fees.

I stated that there’s a glitch in the program. When someone calls to get the payoff amount, pays and closes the account. No more activity is allowed. Then to have reps on the phone stating you have to pay the fee’s is highly illegal and government regulators need to review the banking system software. If it happened to me, it’s happening to others. I wonder what other glitches they find. I told her to alert management for I would be reporting this issue. Thus; this posting, and Yes, Government Regulators does need to review the banks processes.

The issues; Asking for a payoff amount, rep’s don’t know how to give proper info for a close account amount request. Rep’s trying to collect funds erroneously and have no clue they're doing so illegally, lacking proper education or understanding of the banking laws. Banking software adding interest on a zeroed out, closed account. Other banking flaws most likely exist. A confidence review of their system is prudent. I am glad I no longer have to deal with this horrible institution ever again. Worst experience ever with a banking institution.

Get everything in writing if you want to close your account. Get the name of the CS person too. Get a paper statement with proof of closure. Check your credit score. Check your credit reports. They will not do as they say.

On May 20th 2018, I called Credit One to find out why I did not have a current credit card. I found out that they had mailed it to my old address. They also had inaccurate information about my email address and my phone number which I tried to update in their system but was unable to. I spoke to a young man with a thick accent. I told him I did not want to keep the account open because of the missing card that had been mailed a year prior. I also said that I had just paid off the balance and I wanted to close the account. I was told that I would owe no further fees or any annual fee.

I asked specifically about the annual fee. I told him I would pay off whatever I owed legally to close the account. He assured me that the account was now closed and that I would owe nothing further. I did not get this in writing via a letter of any kind which I thought I had requested. I noticed as of August 14 2018 that my credit score has dropping. I thought about it and realized it was probably Credit One because they are well known to exploit their credit card users by tacking on late fees, annual fees, and essentially exploiting the people they are supposed to serve. That was it. BINGO!

Credit One has a history of complaints from the Better Business Bureau. Pattern of Complaints from BBB: "BBB files indicate that this business has a pattern of complaints concerning billing/collection issues. Complainants allege that this Credit One Bank charges consumers, sometimes repeatedly, without authorization, which may include late or unexplained fees. Complainants also allege that Credit One Bank forwards incorrect information to credit reporting agencies such as Equifax, Experian and TransUnion."

The CS person I spoke to on August 14, 2018 named Jacop told me that I owed $103.00 dollars and that I had "two missed payments". I told him that any late fees or annual fees were supposed to be non existent dues to the fact that I paid off the card and closed it. He said he would put my balance to 0.00 but I am waiting for a formal letter. I had to contact TransUnion, and the rest. I will wait for my proof, but I am filing with the FCC and the BBB. This company essentially preys on people trying to build up their credit. Get it in writing! Watch your back!

They took 140.00 out of my bank account then turned around and closed my account. I was never late on payments but everything was clearly their fault. I had a account with this Companies for several yrs and I paid my bill on time, and they will try to entice you with higher credit limits when your account is almost paid off... Don't take their offers. If you are late on any payment, or get way behind on your bill, they WILL NOT work with you or set up a payment arrangement because they make the most money off of Late Fees and Finance charges. My Consolidation Company tried to set a payment arrangement with them, so my finance charges could be lower but they refuse to accept that.

They refused to accept ANY payment from the Consolidation company, so my debt racked up and they sent it to a collection agency... eventually one of the Collection agencies accepted a payment arrangement but now this account is on my credit report because they wanted to play hardball instead of clearing up the debt. I'm currently writing letters to the Credit Agency to explain what they did and why they refused to work with my Consolidation company while Larger companies like Amazon willingly accepted an offered to clear up my Debt... Don't deal with them, they are only money hungry.

I got behind on my Credit One account by mistake, now they refuse to take any payment less than what they piled up. I called and tried to make partial payments and they refuse to take a partial payment of any kind. I can't change my due date to reflect my social security payment, so they are able to charge me a late fee of $35 each month! Add that to my rapidly increasing 'past dues' and I now owe over $740+ on what was just a 480 account several months ago. I asked them to (1) close the account, (2) stop adding on late fees and let me pay partial payments in order to get caught up, but I got a solid NO to any help. They emailed me saying they had the perfect solution for me to get caught up.

I called the number and was told that they would be pleased to accept 2 payments of $280 per month for two months. Isn't that great?! Only problem? I would have to stop paying rent! I informed them of this and their answer was that they thought I should do whatever was needed to pay the payments...regardless of whether or not I paid my rent or not. I have told them time and again that I am low income...doesn't matter...the bill just keeps climbing and they will not help. I turned this account over to a debt relief agency and they informed me that Credit One wouldn't consent to work their program with me until the past due was paid in full. You can see where this is going, can't you?

I immediately called when I received the notification from my office desk (which means I am not at the store). So this company is absolutely the worst company I have ever dealt with. So in June I was going to make my payment but I had noticed that there was some charges that I had not done. So I called them right away and told them that I did not do these charges. They told me that they would deactivate the card and they would issue me a new one as well as the investigation team would work on it to find out what happened.

So about a month goes by and I never receive my replacement card and I also try to login to my online account to make a payment and it is locked. I called them to let them know that I never received the card and to find out what the status is on the investigation and find out why I can't I login to my account. I get told that they are sending me a new card (again) and the investigation is still underway. Then they tell me that I do not need to make a payment because my account is under investigation and that they will contact me. I asked if this will effect my credit report because I am trying to build it up to buy a home, they said no and not to worry that it will not effect my credit. I asked when I can view my online account and they say with in 24-48 hours it will be unlocked. I try it about a week later and it's still locked.

Another month goes by and still the same thing... I have not received the new issued card and still have no way of getting into my locked online account and I never receive a phone call about the status of the investigation. And yet again, I call and its the same old song and dance, they say I do not need to make a payment because the account is in investigation still (by the way its been about 60 days by this time) and they will contact me with status updates, they said my online account will be unlocked with in 24-48 hours, and that they will send me a new card. Yea... none of that ever happened.

So I have called them one final time today and we are now at 90 days, they have now changed their story that account is still under investigation and that now it takes 90 days for the investigation to be complete. They said they account is still locked and they said that it would be unlocked with in 24-48 hours. Oh and I still never got my new issued card and they couldn't tell me when they sent it out. Then here was the real kicker, they said that my account was has an OVERDUE PAYMENT!!! And that I need to make the payment and my payment is late over 30 days and it has now been reflected on my credit report. WTF!!! This is literally the worst company I have dealt with. I had spoken with the manager and that got me no where after explaining the situation that has occurred over the past 3 months. Today I closed the account.

First, I've had issue with Credit One Bank regarding fraudulent charges on the account and their resolution was to reissue the card. They did not check if there were unauthorized charges with me. They credited items they assumed were fraudulent. Their customer service representatives are very inexperienced with answer the customer did not ask questions for. In May 2018, I notified Credit One Bank that I would be out of the country until July 2018 but my payments were scheduled. I am a Fraud Victim so carefully reviewed all my account for irregularities and unauthorized charges. I found my credit cards were replaced and other charges were added to the account. I was told I called June 19, 2018 to report my card had been stolen but I had my card in my possession.

Upon return home, I called July 27, 2018. Spoke with a representative that was very difficult to understand so I asked to speak a Supervisor about waiving the late fees. I scheduled the payments before leaving but checking did not reflect payments. My financial institution stated the Credit One Bank payments were canceled and funds withdrawn therefore my identity had been compromised. After getting another checking with different account and most of the funds deposited back into the account, I proceeded to pay my creditors. I have a very good payment history with my creditors therefore they waived late fees. On August 9, 2018, I logged into the Credit One Bank portal to check if payment posted.

I found that their system still considered my account past due but current snapshot of the account reflects due date as 08/26/18 for $57.00. Again the representative provided inaccurate information that did not make sense. John (rep) stated my account is past due $59.00 which totally confused me. How can the system show account current with payment due 08/26/18 and the rep show past due? Then I receive a credit monitoring alert telling me Credit One Bank reported an account with last 4 digits ** for past due 30 days. Credit One never issued a card to me with those last 4 digits therefore they've issued someone else a card in my name once more. Another issue I have with Credit One that although they closed my account without notification, why would they still charge me an annual fee for the closed account. At this point with all the issues with Credit One Bank, I will leave the accounts closed.

Why don't I like Credit One? Let me count the ways: 1. As soon as you're a second late for a payment, they start spamming you. I've gotten calls upwards of 10 times a day from different numbers that are all associated with these guys. That's incredibly predatory. They even call on weekends. 2. The APRs and rates are pretty terrible, but I expect that's something you know going into one of these cards.

    3. I went to pay my bill, which is due tomorrow, today. It won't let me and has randomly decided, after YEARS of continued use of the same bank account, that I need to "re-verify" my bank account. This will take 1-5 days. Which means For those 2-5 days I'm going to be getting 10 calls a day, because even when I answer and talk to someone, either no one reads the notes or no one is making notes to begin with. There's no customer service line to call with a person about this, there's no way to contact someone online. Just to recap: Credit One is physically preventing me from paying my bill on time and will harass me even though they are the ones preventing me from paying my own bill. How screwed up is that. Avoid at all costs, seriously.

Decided to try again and early July 2018 I requested a new card ($25 fee for that). Once I got my card I used it at a Shell gas station with a successful transaction but now everything is declined. Over the last 4 days I’ve spoken with 16 reps and 5 supervisors who all say they refreshed my card and in 15 min the card will be OK and that the decline was due too “unusual merchants” (Shell gas, Amazon, Target, ShopRite, McDonald’s). To me those are normal.

As of today the manager said she solved my issue and the card will be ok in 24 hours. However I don’t believe it will work. I believe they approve you for a card and charge you the $99 annual fee and high interest and allow 1 transaction to go through then decline the rest, making you call and request a new card (which cost $25). Then when you get a new card they approve 1 purchase then deny all the rest again. Stay far away from this company!!!

I've had this credit card since 2013 (trying to rebuild my credit after the 2007-2010 recession, I'm in the construction industry... nuf said :)) Sooooo, my lesser gripe is the high interest rate (but, pretty understandable if your credit rating is not so great). Here's the kicker though: that brutal "yearly" charge to have this card. You might be wondering why I put "yearly" in quotations. That's because it's a yearly charge... billed monthly. I've wanted to cancel this card for quite some time, now that my credit score is back to a somewhat normal range. But every time I pay off the balance, they charge $8.25 as soon as my payment posts... soooo, now you've got an open balance again and can't cancel.

Super irritating (not sure of the legality of this practice either). Very frustrating. Worse, when you call their "customer service", you can count on poor communication, and being transferred at least three times trying to get this done. And that's after you slog your way through the automated phone menu hawking every conceivable "add on" service imaginable. So, after being on hold, and wading through this process... I finally got through to someone (I think my frustration was pretty obvious by the time I talked to the head honcho) who could cancel the card (on the "upside", they refunded my last two "yearly fee" charges. At least that's what the customer service rep said they'd do... we'll see).

Horrible! I have been trying to rebuild my credit to purchase a home. Credit One Bank was a suggestion from one of the credit sites I frequent. I was approved for a $300 limit back in February and it’s been a nightmare ever since. The problem began in April. My Credit One account was hacked. Someone in Nevada changed the address on my account and then added themselves as an authorized user. Once they received a card, they paid it off using my debit card that was on file and then went to an ATM and stole all the money. I did not catch on to the fraud until I received a letter from Credit One wanting me to confirm an address change.

I called to report that I did not change my address (I live in MD) and that all my money on the card was gone. Credit One closed the old card, took the “authorized user” off and sent me a new card. I reported what happened to my bank and they issued me a new debit card (which they later charged me for). Credit One started a fraud case and my balance was zero (of course since MY money was used to pay off the card).

Fast forward to today. I rented a car this week and after receiving the final bill, I knew I would be over my Credit One limit. So I accessed my account this morning to pay on my account and to my shock, it stated I was over $288. I immediately called Credit One to have them tell me that the balance from the old card was transferred to my new card. I was also told to go to my bank and file a claim to prove that there was fraud.

At this point my patience with this company is at a negative ZERO! I (loudly) explained to the lady what happened and that I was NOT going to pay twice for something their company allowed. After some back and forth, she hung up on me. So I promptly called back. I immediately asked to speak to a supervisor, but the young lady wanted to know my issue. I explained once again what happened, she also tried to tell me it was a balance transfer, to file a claim with my bank and once they’re able to prove it was fraud the money will be taken off my account. I explained that it was not really fraud with my bank, the person received my account number through Credit One and stole the money off that card. She also stated she would transfer me to a supervisor but hung up on me. NOW I’M PASSED LIVID!

I called back for the third time and finally got a full understanding of horrible this company is and how they do not appreciate a diligent consumer. Once I got the third person I skipped all the pleasantries and got right to point. After having the associate suggest I took the money off my card; I suggested she review my account, again! She finally saw where my address was changed; an authorized user was added and wait for it...seeing where the person took my money in NEVADA. She no longer wanted my bank to do Credit One’s job. I realized they were hoping the fraud would be with my bank so that Credit One could get their money back or that I would be dumb enough to pay again. Now they’re going to do their job (supposedly) for the second time. I informed the associate that I will pay what’s owed and then will close this account.

If you get anything from this please be cautious when rebuilding your credit. Companies such as Credit One take advantage of those that are not able to get credit through well established creditors. Try Capital One secured credit card and or your bank secured credit card. Capital One gave me an increase within 6 months for having a good payment history. In addition, credit cards such as Credit One are viewed as “boutique “ cards. Essentially it’s like having a card from a clothing store. Cards like this are frowned upon during credit reporting. Creditors view having these cards as if you’re not able to obtain credit from an established bank. I just received this tidbit after getting cards like Credit One. Please do your homework before rebuilding your credit!

Then I called Credit One back and called them on the game they were playing because I was almost done paying off my balance and then another supervisor told me they didn't have all the digits on my account number so when I was paying online the payments weren't going through! I screamed "Why did you all let this go on for so long!? Who was irresponsible? Me or you for not alerting me that you didn't have all my information before charging me with interest and penalties up to over $1,000! WHO THE ** DOES THAT!"

I continued to make payments until I tried to make a payment yesterday 7-11-2018 and the person I spoke to informed me that my account had been charged off and sold to someone they don't have the information for and as of 6-28-2018. They won't let you pay your bill over the phone without a charge. It hard to set up your account online from their website. Just the worst experience I have ever had with a credit card company.

And this was after I had already closed this account a month prior. Then I was alerted by my credit monitoring company and then they charged my account off even after I paid it off. I filed a small claims lawsuit this afternoon for 5000 dollars, I'll keep you informed on its progress.

I’ve had this card for 6 months and I’ve always having an issue with making my payments online. I called today because of an email they sent about my account. I was not able to log in the account. I called customer service and was told that my account was suspended because of a returned payment. I asked for the account information they had and it does not match what I know I put it and what has been saved. I was told my account was closed and that it will be reported to the credit agency on the 7th. The only way to possibly get my account reinstated would be to send a letter from the bank of my account information? Like why? They are a scam and full of bull. No one could tell me how long the process would take. I’m contacting a lawyer.

They offered me a credit card to help improve my credit. I accepted it. I used it for a few charges, paid the whole thing off the end of each month, then closed. Stopped using it months ago. Assuming I didn't have a monthly payment to pay, I logged into my account today to see that I owe them over $100 and even worse my credit score dropping because of nonpayment. It turns out that they charged me some hidden fee I wasn't aware of, then each month the fee accumulated with late penalty charges and interest. So these days, if you don't owe money, you still owe money and get your credit all screwed up??? What a scam! Companies like this are the reason 2008 financial crisis happened, if not regulated better, it will happen again and even much worse!

I got this card just as an easy way to finance a payment. Everything was fine for the first couple months, until my payment was due last night and I was unable to even access the "make a payment" screen. This morning, I was charged a late fee, which I expected. I was irritated, but figured it wasn't a big deal since I DID wait until the last day to pay the bill. My fault. This morning I went to make another payment, the payment did not process, and would not allow me to try to make that same payment again, so I called the customer service number that they advised me to contact. I wound up speaking with the most rude individual. She yelled at me, demanded I calm down, and spoke to me like a toddler. It was like she was reading off a script and wasn't even listening to the problem I was describing to her. She would not give me her name, but her attitude is the exact reason that I'm cancelling this card the minute I pay it off completely. Not worth it.

My credit was badly damaged in 2010. I got a credit card from Credit One to slowly rebuild my credit. I finally got my credit up to a decent score and I held on to this card because it hurts your credit score to close an account but Credit One has to go. I am charged $8.25 a month for an annual fee, I pay the card in full each month but they charge interest on the balance daily, I found a charge for $19.00 so I called Credit One to find out what it was they told me it was a membership fee.

When you pay online Credit One charges close to ten dollars if you want credited that day or no charge if you wait 5 days so if you're on a tight budget either pay the fee or a steep late fee (I never was late). So last month I paid my account in full (on time) this month I have $27.25 in fees. I have 3 other great credit cards now that don't cost me a dime as long as I pay in full every month. Next payment I will pay in full (as always) but I will be mailing a certified letter to close my account. Credit One did help me rebuild my credit but there is no rewards for being a good customer.

They'll be happy to give you a card and if you want to survive unscathed do what I did. These guys are experts in the shifty'Mc shafts so do not imagine it or use it as a credit card. Create a new email address specifically for this card. Don't use the card if you don't have the cash on hand, you'll need it to pay it off after a few days, after it registers on the website or the app. Only use it once a month. Only keep the card for 9 months. Read your termination instructions carefully and mail the letter certified. Make sure you indicate that you are terminating "our contract at your request". Do not let them talk you into keeping the card. Lie and tell them your bank gave you a $2000 credit card limit and you don't need two credit cards. Always enter your login and password fresh, no saved data fields. Don't bother calling for anything but a credit increase after 4 months.

Do not consider any payment completed, they'll add an extra couple bucks for interest, just pay it if it appears after a zero balance report from the app or website, so watch for it. Do not block the emails reporting your closed account at a zero balance with zero available credit, verify it says zero and delete it. On the 8th month go to Capital One and get the secured card and keep it, they'll have you in two Quicksilvers MC & Visa in 11 months then go get your Discover card. Credit Sesame reports any credit activity before TransUnion, Experian etc. Pay no attention to Credit Sesame recommended cards. Credit Karma is always the last to know anything. Take no loans from any app, go to your bank and ask for a credit builder CD if you want to build your score faster. Good Luck!

I attempted to pay my bill online for over two weeks. Their new authentication does not work. It will not allow you to go past the security questions page. I also never received a statement from them, but knew I had used the card and wanted to pay in full. They have been calling my home all weekend from different numbers. I was not home and a friend finally answered the phone.

They persisted in asking to speak with my spouse, since I was not available. I have no spouse. This is beyond being unprofessional and leads me to believe that the call is from out of the country. I called customer service this morning from work and was on the line around 35 minutes trying to rectify the issue. Horrible customer service. They took my payment over the phone, then sent me to another department to try and help me log on. In the meantime, I find all these horrible reviews that I never knew about on Consumer Affairs.

They kept trying to insinuate that it’s my fault. Uh, no. They could not tell me when the online issue would be fixed, but kept saying it’s nothing wrong. Their only suggestion was to download their app to make future payments. I asked does that mean the online website doesn’t work. All they would keep saying is, that it does work, but the could walk me through it. My advice is to stay away from Credit One, if you can. I’m lucky to have other and better credit cards. I understand everyone may not be able to and have to use them. I will keep it for emergencies, if needed. They are a fraudulent company and really should be sued and shut down.

I am a cardholder with Credit One Bank, and will be brief. I have been with Credit One Bank for a couple of years at least. From the very beginning, paying my bill using the automated number was unsuccessful. The line would never pick up, just disconnect. If it actually did answer, disconnected at some point through the prompts. At this point, I installed the app in order to make online payments. This experience was not terrible, however a large amount of the time I was unable to view my statements. If I was able to actually retrieve an agent via telephone after LITERALLY WAITING FOR UP TO TWO HOURS, unfortunately I was unable to understand the agent/dialect issues. Resulting in yet again the inability to make payments. Currently, well LITERALLY for the past two months I have been unable to reach Credit One through all avenues resulting in now "late payments" confirmed with credit checks.

You may be asking yourself why I have not sent payments via postal service? Are you kidding? If I am unable to reach them via phone, email, and app no telling what could happen once they received it! I am a 5 star fan of the United States Postal Service, just no telling what may happen with Credit One! My quick theory... "payment not received ". In close, taking a risk with this company is infinite! The hours and frustration I personally have endured is phenomenal! Heck, I can't even make contact to close the accounts. However I have contacted the credit bureau and submitted a dispute in hopes that my credit score will not continue to be affected. Stay away from Credit One Bank!!! Thanks so much!!

They've added a new feature where you can process a payment for $9.95 or use their current method (online or mail). The online access has NOT worked since, it seems, the $9.95 fee became effective. Was told today that Credit One is updating their security and that is why their site was inaccessible. Was then offered to help reset my password. When I asked why, since the site was down, was told that it would be ANOTHER 48 hours before I could use the online option. Never got a response as to how that would work if the site was being upgraded.

This is the exact same thing I was told two weeks ago just before they slapped a $25 late fee on my account. I had to request paper statements just to be able to make payments. The only response I've gotten has been, "I'm really sorry for the inconvenience." When I asked to speak with someone in the United States, I was told that was not possible. When I dialed the in-state number listed for the company (702-269-1000) was put on hold and then disconnected. I have NEVER encountered this level of poor customer service. This is one unhappy cardholder.

I will make this as short and sweet as possible as it has been a 2 month nightmare! I've been with Credit One since 2015 and have great standing and zero issues until late March early April. It started with me getting a letter at home from Credit One dated 3/28/18 thanking me for changing my address to something in Florida. I live in SC and haven't moved. This was suspicious so I called them right away on 4/3/18. During that call (I won't even go into how awful the customer service has been and how many hours I've wasted with them since) they eventually updated my address back to my correct address.

HOWEVER, an important detail they failed to tell me on that call on 4/3/18 was that they mailed a NEW card to that WRONG address in FL on 3/26/18... Oh and of course they billed me $25 for a replacement card they sent to some criminal. Had they told me they sent the new card when I called to dispute the address change and cancelled the card THEN, the fraud would not have happened. So a few weeks later is when I finally realized that someone had made multiple cash withdrawals form MY card in Florida for about a week. Did I mention these cash advances ended up exceeding my credit limit by over $1,000?? How does Credit One even let that happen?!?

In addition to the advances, a cash advance fee of nearly $14 PER ADVANCE was charged to me! I have been dealing with this since early April and they have NOT wanted to help me. I filed a police report, spoke to multiple "supervisors" and requested they send me a fraud affidavit. They told me no they do not send those? THEY ARE REQUIRED TO! I was finally able to have them send me one. They have reported this FRAUDULENT balance that happens to now be over my limit to the credit bureaus and my score has dropped significantly! Many complaints about it to Credit One to at least advise the credit bureaus it was in dispute were useless and nothing has been done.

I could tell you so many other things they have done poorly in this situation that would make your head spin, but I'm so over talking about it over and over. The important thing I want to share is HOW TO GET IT RESOLVED. I promise if you have had this issue as I see many others have, Credit One will not resolve it and fix it unless they are forced! I submitted a complaint against them to the CFPB - they in turn forwarded the complaint to the OCC - the Federal agency that regulates banks. This is something Credit One does not want... Several complaints about this huge security breach launching questions from the OCC.

I got a response from Credit One this week "based on my complaint to the OCC" (not based on complaints I made directly with them). They do not admit any wrongdoing in the letter as it was worded carefully, HOWEVER, they did advise me the fraud investigation is now complete and they will be correcting my account balances and notifying the credit bureaus as well. Letter is dated last week and none of it has been fixed yet - online account (when it decides to actually work) still shows I'm over my credit limit! Granted, my new billing cycle starts in a few days so I will follow up at that time to make sure it is fixed. At least I have a letter from them in writing stating I am NOT responsible... even though I'm momentarily paying the price! Hopefully this well help someone else that is going through this! OCC IS YOUR FRIEND AND WILL HELP!

I informed them I cannot wait 7 to 10 days for them to return that amount because it would cause a financial hardship for me most likely and they said that is the only way that sort of issue was handled and of course the lame sorry for the inconveniences that it may cause. Good to know that I'm not the only one having problems with this company. I am experiencing the same things as others. I have had a Credit One card for a number of years and never had any problems until the last 6 mo. It started when every time I went online to pay my bill, my password wouldn't work so I would have to reset it all the time. I had a hard time getting access to my acct. all the time. It happened again last night. I finally got a hold of someone, that I couldn't understand, and he couldn't explain why this was happening but was probably "for security reasons" which was pretty funny since one of my cards had just been fraudulently charged $800.

Now my credit report is taking a hit for that and they have to "investigate" before they remove the charges which can take quite a while. Then when I went to reset my password, there was a problem and they were going to send me an email code, which I never got. He didn't have the right email or phone # so I never got it. I'm so fed up at this point I won't be using this card anymore. I don't know what has happened because it's just been recently that I started having problems and customer service is worthless.

Just recently received this card. After going through the 2 step process then having to go through yet another verification process the following month (which I understand they have had several cardholders being hacked so the added security is ok) I tried to schedule a payment. My due date is later than the date I wanted to make my payment, yet the website doesn't allow you to schedule an earlier date. Trying to get through to a customer service person was a landmine but I finally got through only to be told the date couldn't be changed. I had to mail the payment. Never experienced this with a card company. They want you to pay late... Will be closing this account asap.

I was told I was sent an email that stated that I needed to update my account a couple of weeks ago. I looked all through my email but it never was sent or it did not come to me. Are they trying to charge people extra for a payment over the phone, or tell you your payment is late if you send it in the mail? Something is up and it should be looked into. Imagine a customer service rep that cannot help you get back into your account over the phone. I figure he/she could have given me a code over the phone, or unblocked my account.

Went online to make (FIRST). Filled out all the information to make online account to pay bill (perhaps including social security number)... they couldn't go any further after suddenly realizing I didn't have the account number because I had never received (or opened) the actual credit card. Searched through the mail and found 'new' card. Went back to computer to furnish this LAST piece of information to login in to pay or set up payment online for this account. Before I could get back to the computer/website to enter account number... the Credit One Bank site (for payments) appears to have been REMOVED or TAKEN DOWN.

Now all they show is a site to login in with user ID and password... which I have not yet created... and it appears to be a website to accept their credit card "offers" only... which obviously that part has already been done. The (unexpected) BILL is here and... DUE. I did not remember this being part of the deal... offered as no fees, unsecured, low starting but able to increase limit over time with on-time payments... but, with a slightly higher interest rate. (I almost called first when bill first arrived... because the charge was unexpected and was this a 'mistake' and to tell them they should advertise this... as I almost didn't even open the first statement... as I had obviously not purchased anything yet without having an actual 'card'.)

Regardless the bill is/was due the next day. There is nowhere to pay... online... and now their website states/shows the company is NOT even accredited yet? WTH. Hopefully, when I call someone today they can take a payment over the phone... but, then they'll have my banking information... if not my social security number from trying to pay online earlier! (Yikes) And, if this company or financial institution is not on the up and up (as now showing not credited) hopefully it will be possible for my personal bank to be able to reverse the payment... IF... the company is 'no good'.

At this point I can't even tell if I'm paying a legit or scam company. (Just beautiful). The irony... people are out there attempting to rebuild their credit from whatever circumstance... fraud, financial reasons, etc. and consumers can't even successfully or smoothly pay their FIRST bill due. Where were these poor reviews by BBB a few weeks ago. BEFORE offer completed. SMDH. Thieves. Rinse and repeat.

When I called to report this fraudulent charge, I was told that I needed to verify my password. I never created a password. I activated it on the phone and it never asked for a password. When I said I didn't create a password, she asked me to verify my mother's maiden name which I did. She told me it was incorrect. I asked her how it was incorrect when that was my mother's maiden name.

I couldn't get any help because I didn't know this imaginary password that was automatically created for me (because I didn't create it, nor was given an option) and apparently my mother's maiden name is incorrect. When I kept saying I didn't know the password because I never created one, I was placed on hold for 25+ minutes to wait for a supervisor who asked if they had permission to remove the password option. I said yes, please remove it because I didn't know it. She said she removed it but when I called yet again about ANOTHER fraudulent charge, I ran into the same thing. Password and maiden name incorrect... It's ridiculous. I don't know who is creating these fake passwords and fake names but it's probably the same person stealing my credit card numbers from Credit One Bank!

I have a savings account and have been unsuccessful of getting them to understand that is the type of account it is. Only one time did I ever finally get through and I had to speak with 3 different people. They are a predatory company that takes advantage of people who are trying to start their credit files and/or recover from a financial setback. Not only do they charge outrageous fees for EVERYTHING including attempting to pay your bill in a timely fashion, they own their own collection firms and will harass you at all hours of the day and night and the people they employ are barely able to speak English or Spanish. Do yourself a favor and use the fees you will pay this company to go to a reputable company and get a secured credit card.

Updated on [05/03/2018]: This company is wolf in sheep's clothing. No matter your situation STAY FAR AWAY from this brood of vipers. I opened an account with them in July 2014 and closed it in November 2014 after getting into a dispute over questionable charges on my account which I refused to pay. Their employees, and then the collection agencies they own began harassing me at work, on my cell phone, anywhere and everywhere at all hours. THEN to top it all off, after I finally just decided to bit the bullet and settle and pay so that I could get this off of my credit record, they reported late payments on six different occasions in 2017 further destroying my credit. I had to report them to the CFPB to gain assistance. Because of the excellent documentation I had, the CFBP has referred my complaint to the Office of Comptroller for their investigation. Do not... under any circumstances believe these gangsters will help your credit profile in way, shape or form.

This place is the absolute worst. They call you to tell you that there's been fraudulent activity on your account. Once it has been proven that there's been fraudulent activity on the account they put a fraud on your account. They tell you they're going to send you a card in 7 to 10 days. When you ask them if they could send you a paper to tell yes your account is under fraudulent activity investigation so that you can give that to the proper authorities to give to your banking institution and for your police report they say they can't do it.

Their policy is not to give out any information that it would take 60 to 90 days. After speaking with five different representatives three to whom Emily, Chris and Sam were out of the country and barely spoke any English we are unable to help me at all. Then to finally speak with Vin the fourth person who was able to help me a little more. He spoke English and actually cared. He stated he was in Las Vegas and unfortunately he was not able to send me an email stating that my account was under investigation or mail me a letter that he would get me a supervisor.

Now speaking to person number 5 in less than 24 hours is supervisor Ezra. By this point I am frustrated and crying as I'm leaving the bank because I've had to close my account and after speaking with an attorney and the sheriff office I'm explaining to Ezra that all I need is a piece of paper for the police report and for my bank to show them that hey my account is under investigation. He states that it's not their policy that he will try to get me out something by the 20th.

This is absolutely ridiculous. It should not take moving a mountain to get a piece of paper from a company when you're under a fraud investigation. When the company is the one who contacted you to say, "Hey. We see wrong activity. We're noticing fraud." Okay you're the one who put my account under the fraud activity. You should be willing to send me a piece of paper so that I can get this taken care of but no. This company is doing everything but that so run. Hide. Don't use them. I will never use them again neither were my family. We're cutting up our cards!!!

Stay away from this credit card company! High fees, bad customer service and so not worth the money lost! P.S. I think their call center is through India because none of them can clearly speak English. First, the fees are outrageous! I will admit, I had credit issues and was looking for a credit card to jump-start rebuilding my credit and they offered just that. However, I was overwhelmed with the hidden fees! There is a fee for EVERYTHING associated with this card. Want an increase? Pay $29.95. Want another person to have a card (such as spouse)? Pay $25. Express payment so your payment is applied to your account next business day? Pay $9.95. And the annual fee... when you first get the card, regardless of your credit limit, you are slammed with a $75 fee.

Understanding this is not clear when the account is opened. I thought it was going to be broken up into the monthly payment. That's not how it works. The fee for opening the account is $75 then you are charged $8.?? a month as the "annual fee". So... I had this card for 6 years and made almost every payment on time, except for last month. I was between jobs and went from getting paid monthly to bi-monthly plus moved from NC to TX. For the first time in 6 years, I missed a payment. The day after my payment date, my phone rang over 15 times from the same number. When I finally answered after leaving work, I discovered the phone calls were from this bank. Of course, you are greeted with the automated system about this is a call will be recorded and is to collect a debt... etc.

When I finally talked to someone, the first thing I complained about was the number of calls. Then he asked when I would be able to make a payment. I explained the situation and said, my next pay date is Mar 21. The CSR said he would look at my account to see what he could do to help me. He complimented me on keeping my account on time and that he was impressed with how I have handled my account over the years. I was transferred to a "specialist" who then said, "We can only allow up to the 18th". Apparently he did not hear me say that I did not get another paycheck until the 21st. After arguing about this, I finally hung up on him. I continued to get phone calls from them daily, never leaving a message. There were also times that I answered and they hung up on me. They claim to be working with you, but they are really trying to bully you into making a payment.

After this whole fiasco, I ended up cashing out some of my retirement to pay them off. So, I made the call to close the account. The CSR says he is sorry to hear that I want to close the account and then transferred me to a "specialist". Here we go with the bullying again! They asked why I wanted to close the account. I said, I have paid my debt and wish to have the account closed. Next I get this whole story about how keeping my card open will improve my credit score. I said the fees for this account are too high and I wish to close the account. Now the story is, I have done so well with my account that they are going to refund my "monthly fees" which will show the account to be "overpaid" and I will be able to use my card up to that amount. Again, I said that I would not be using the card and I wish to have the account closed.

At this point, I am angry and said, "This is exactly why I am closing this account. The one time I needed help, I was harassed by this company and I am tired of dealing with you." He goes back to telling me how I should keep the account open. I simply started responding with, "Please close my account." to every statement. Finally he got the point and rudely said, "Ma'am, you don't have to keep repeating yourself. The account is now closed." and then hung up on me. THANK YOU!!! Now I have the pleasure to shred this card!! I am still upset with myself for losing so much money to these people.

Credit One was great at first and captured the account, started investigation and reversed the charges. Then it happened again. And Again. And Again. It is now April 2018 and Credit One is unable to stop this activity. They have closed my account over and over and someone in Miami keeps opening it over and over with my social security number. Someone within Credit One must be taking part in this. I have called. I have closed accounts. I have even requested that they shut down my online/web account access. The person in Miami has been using the card like a regular consumer (paying it off and then using it). Credit One has the person's email, phone and payment mechanism, but has been unable or unwilling to stop this from happening. Every time I call, the customer service agents tell me that they cannot close my account until I pay off the balance that was incurred before December 2017 BUT they are unable to provide an accurate accounting since the Miami person paid the card to a zero balance several times between December 2017 and April 2018.

I don't think I have EVER had a good experience with this card. It was my first time on my own and I racked up a lot of credit cards just to pay bills and I was desperate, so, I applied for this card. First encounter with them... I learned that you could change your payment date, so I did. I got a call about a week later saying that my first payment was missed. I apologized and said I'd make it as soon as I can. Realizing that I changed the payment date so I shouldn't have "missed" it, I called back and explained that. I got a very rude rep and he said that the change doesn't take effect til the next billing cycle. Well I had changed my payment date either online or through the automated system (can't remember which) and they said nothing about that.

So I told that to the rep and he became even more rude and said, "Yes it did." Being done arguing with this random rep, I proceeded to end the conversation. He then asked when I would be able to make a payment and I said I wasn't sure. He got even louder and said that I NEEDED to give him a date to put in his notes. That's when I finally got a backbone and got tired of him talking to me like I just insulted his mother.

Putting a little bit of a bite back in my voice, I said that I would make the payment when I was able to and I wasn't sure when that would be (because I was anticipating a later pay date) and the conversation ended. I don't need you blowing up my phone the day after a missed payment. And maybe you should teach some of your reps to control their attitudes because it was unwarranted and unwanted. Cannot wait to pay this card off and when I do, I'm going to tell them the same thing you tell a jerk that you don't want to have anything to do with anymore... To lose my number.

The fees are high for this card. I had it for two years, paid the high annual fees, and I think I may have used to card two or three times and paid the balance as soon at it posted to my account due to the non-existent grace period. I always refused the credit limit increases due to the cost (typically $24.99 for a couple hundred extra dollars), however, I do remember once that they automatically increased it without my having to pay for it and they did not charge my account.

With that said, I would like to share my experience with canceling this CC. Simply put, don't worry about it drastically damaging your credit score. I was likely in a similar situation as many of you are now (i.e., damaged credit... No one else would extend me credit, etc.). Once I obtained the Credit One Bank CC and some time passed, my credit score incrementally increased. As a result, I was able to get some modest credit lines from AMEX, Discover, Capital One and Wells Fargo CC's. And I as well was fed up with paying the high annual fees because by this point, I was not using the Credit One Bank CC at all (only paying the annual fees so that I would not be reported as delinquent).

So one day I reviewed the Credit One Bank Account agreement details on how to begin the cancelation process and followed the instructions to the T. Credit One Bank promptly canceled my account, which I was able to verify simply by checking my credit reports. And guess what? Since I was able to obtain reasonable credit through other lenders and my score had began slowly increasing over time, I actually took a very small hit by having the Credit One Bank CC closed. I think it may have been less than a six point deduction. So, If you are able to obtain larger credit limits with other CC companies, it will help offset the loss of closing one CC with a small credit limit and high fees.

I know that you all will come across many negative reviews about Credit One Bank. But honestly, there is a reason you have bad credit. And if you have bad credit, lenders will view you as a high credit risk and you are less likely to receive favorable credit offers, if any. This is where Credit One Bank comes in. They extend credit (not much) to people who are considered a high credit risk. And you will have to pay for this convenience. The only other option is to borrow money from family or friends.

So my whole point here is that you if you are serious about rebuilding your credit, suck up your pride and pay the piper (i.e, the high CC fees) for a period of time while your credit is rebuilding itself. Not trying to be mean or inconsiderate here because I was right there with the rest of you for a while. Once enough time has passed, which is highly dependent on everyone's individual situation, close the account and move on with your life. Things will get better but you have to patient, diligent and extremely involved in correcting the issues that caused the decline in your credit to begin with. It will all take time and more money, but you can overcome this. Good luck on rebuilding your credit.

The reason I applied for this CC was because it was one of the only card I qualified for at the time and I needed credit in order to get my score back up. Credit One gave me a credit card but one with a low limit and at a huge cost. I had this CC for almost 2 years and it was a hallelujah day when I finally shredded it. Starting off they charged me an annual $75 fee. After one year the cost to own this card goes up to $99 or $8.25 per month. To get my score up I researched and read that I should not charge more than 30% of my limit. This meant I could not charge more than $180 per month on my Credit One CC.

After the $75 fee that meant I could not charge more than $105 or my credit would be negatively impacted. In today's standards $105 is one trip to the grocery store. To offset this after a year I applied for a credit card through another bank and was given a $6000 limit, $39 annual fee and cash back on all purchases. After dealing with Credit One for a year I thought I had died and gone to heaven.

When I used the Credit One CC I strived to pay off the balance every month and not once was I late on a payment. Meanwhile, over a year later Credit One finally raised my limit a whopping $250. Even with a zero balance I was still paying $8.25 fee per month. Around Christmas Credit One sent a out numerous scam type adverts stating if I cashed (charged) a $250 check they mailed out several times I could increase my credit limit by $250. This was the ultimate joke because $250 was above my 30% credit limit. Essentially Credit One was offering to help me lower my credit score. But by then I knew Credit One was run by a bunch of greedy individuals who prey on people such as myself who have had struggles in life and find themselves at the bottom with no better options. NO matter what they say they are here to make money at your expense.1

After almost 2 years I no longer used the Credit One card and was thoroughly enjoying cash back on with the better credit card. But I was still I paying $8.25 per month just to carry around the Credit One plastic. Finally I came to my senses and called CO to cancel. Even this proved difficult. I had to speak to 3 different people before being connected to the department that actually cancels accounts.

Speaking to the Credit One "account specialist" was what I imagine it was like talking to a member of the German Gestapo during WW2. I had to dig my heels in, stay insistent and keep saying "NO!". I heard "Oh, but we report to the 3 major credit reporting agencies". "Oh, but we can forfeit the $8.25 monthly fee X 3 months for you". Oh, but...." All the time I was saying NO NO NO! Once the account specialist knew she could not sell me on keeping the card the civil mask fell off and her demeanor changed to "How dare you and shame on me." Once I hung up with Ms Gestapo I went straight to the paper shredder and killed that card once and for all. A heavy weight immediately lifted and there was relief that it was in pieces and no longer a burden. I only wished I had done it a year sooner.

Another thing you must know if you want this card. Credit One touts they offer a credit score check with the card. They take the 3 credit reporting agencies, add the total and divide it out to get an "average". Even this is a joke because Credit One inflated my score, sometimes as much as 20 points beyond truth. I know this because I checked my score for real at all 3 agencies.

There is really nothing positive I can say about Credit One. I suppose CO serves one purpose, but they are much too greedy to make it worthwhile to use or keep. In dealing with CO there is an underlying element of greed and dishonesty. Hidden fees run amuck. If you are not careful when you pay the monthly bill online or you will be charged something like $9 bucks. If you need to bring your score up and this is the only card you can quality for then do so very cautiously, charge no more than 30% of your limit, pay down your balance each month and hopefully after 1-2 years you will have succeeded in raising your score enough to qualify for a much better option. This card is not one you want to go crazy with and charge your limit. If you do so this card will serve to lower your credit score, not raise it. Use responsibly and plan on only using only as long as it takes to qualify for another card with more perks.

They don't have auto payment and even if you do pay on time, they notify you that it will take up to a week to post the payment unless you pay an extra $9 express payment fee - each time you pay. They charge a monthly fee. They constantly offer you "credit increases" - $75 fee for each $125 "increase". You have to decline these scam offers each time you log into your account.

I have had this card for eight years, I used it in the beginning, ($1000 credit line), but now I have a much higher credit score (721) and I don't need it. I have paid $8.25 for a $0 balance on this card for 6 years. My credit available on this card is $3275. Each time you raise your credit line, you pay a large fee to do so. I have never in my life added an authorized user to a credit card account. Today, I went in to pay my $8.25 fee and I noticed that there was an authorized user charge for $19.00. I called them immediately and someone had changed my address and ordered a new card to their address.

After really having to say, SOMEONE TRIED TO STEAL THIS ACCOUNT...they finally decided to send me a new card with a new account number FOR $25.00. In the past this credit card company didn't even have a customer service number, you had to email them. I am afraid to close it because it is an old line of credit and it may adversely affect my credit score. But I have a feeling this card is not secure and is an easy target for predators. Wouldn't recommend.

They sent me a card. We don’t have any credit cards but after comparing to another offer from another company I decided to get the card as I have a lot of medical due to leukemia and another mass now. I thought I could use this when needed then pay off. There wasn’t an annual fee anywhere I saw. And the other offer had one. So again I chose this one. I get a statement last week. Not due til April. Today I get a call and when I call back I am over my limit. I was so upset because I knew exactly what I spent. I got customer service and was told my payment was due yesterday and a late fee was applied plus 75$ annual fee. I was horrified. Still am. I argued with the person who was rude and would not listen and will not close the account. I wish I had read all the reviews on this horrible company. It seems a scam. I have no idea how I am going to pay the late and annual fee and get this closed. So so sick and upset.

Ok, how is it that anyone can steal our cards, make thousands of dollars worth of charges, change the address on the billing statement, but when I call to report it, "Nope... Sorry, have your husband call." So, today, I look again, not only have the fraudulent charges on the first card not been resolved, but the scammers were able to open a NEW card in our name, again, charging all kinds of money on this new card. How is this okay? We don't live in FLA; haven't been to FLA, and these charges are all from FLA. Unreal, they are horrible, but they allow bogus people to use our card, then open a new one when the old one stopped working, ughhh.

Paid off card in full three months ago. Wanted to build up my credit, cut up card and kept account open. I was alerted today via email that I had an outstanding balance and contacted Credit One. They stated that I was charged an $8 service fee (for a 0 balance account) a month followed by a late charge and then interest which added up to $111.61. After I finished laughing, I was told that I could make an express payment for $9!! I feel that I had no choice but to pay it. Probably my fault for thinking it was as easy. I was transferred three times in total for this transaction. I asked them to CLOSE this account and send me confirmation in the mail. DON'T get this card no matter how good it appears to be - you WILL be paying it off until you die and interest charges are ridiculously high.

This card is horrible. I make payments double the minimum amount every single month, but yet I have no money on my card ever. I have sought legal advice because this card is a rip-off. They charge an annual 8$ fee monthly! I'm pretty sure annual means we should not be charged monthly. I have called numerous times to cancel the card due to not being able to ever get ahead on this card. I was told I was not allowed to cancel my card until the full balance was paid off, and even when I offered to pay the full balance, I was told I could not cancel until after the payment posted, meaning they needed to charge me more money before canceling the card.

This bank is committing theft to everyone who holds a card with them. I will be taking civil action against this company by the end of the month. I am fed up with having to pay someone who can't even show me on my statements were my money is going. If I make a 40$ payment and I am only charged 15$ in fees and no other purchases were made, where is the remainder of my money? The statement amount for the fees they take out and the payments I have made do not add up at all. LAWSUIT IN THE MAKING!

A few months ago I received a card from Credit One Bank. I was so happy they issued me a card. I started using it and making my payments. I made a payment last month for the minim. After I clicked to send I realized I sent a full payment. I call their customer service and try to get all straightened out. What a joke!!! The person has a thick accent and hard to understand. I ask for the return of my money minus the monthly amount I owe. Told I can't have any help with the matter. We go back and forth for 5 minutes. Then I am told if I wait later I can get a check back from Credit One. Then when he sees he can't help I am referred to another man with the same thick accent and we go round and round and then he hangs up on me. So I decide if they take the full payment I won't have any money for 3 weeks until payday. So I try one more time and I got the same treatment. I gave up and had my bank stop their payment.

Credit One Bank showed I was paid up. I wait a few days and then Credit One shows I owe again and need to make a payment. I make the payment online and a couple days later I want to make sure everything is okay. Credit One wouldn't let me in. I call that wonderful customer service (not). I am told Credit One suspected fraud because of what my bank did and closed the account. So I ask how to reinstate. Credit One wants verification from my bank signed by my bank and sent to the bank in Las Vegas. Then there are no guarantees they will reopen.

I tried to get the number or e-mail someone who has the authority to fix this situation. You can't get a hold of anybody with power in this wonderful company. Now I am upset they closed my account. But I even more upset with the company who has the worst the worst customer service. And I think the main people who have the power and big salary believe they don't need to worry about us. They should because we pay such high amounts of interest. Credit One is a joke of lending and the crappiest uncaring customer service. I didn't even want to give one star.

But, if you are within a week before payment is due; they excessively call you over and over and over though it's still NOT due yet. They call from random local phone numbers and no one speaks English on the other end. Lately, I paid off 2 credit cards with 2 payments, they applied both payments to 1 credit card. Common sense would say, 2 credit cards, 2 in full payments received. It's been a week since their mistake and I called several times to get the payment moved over correctly. They say "it takes awhile, may take 7days or more". They do this on purpose as interest incurs. Do not expect anything good out of this company everything cost, additional cards, additional users to your account, credit line increases are not free. Do not expect an apology for their mistake either.
