Purchased the smaller package to try. Received a bottle of cleanser opened and slimy under plastic film, and conditioner also open and half filled. Started using and my hair is falling out terribly. It has never done this, and my scalp dry. I called Wen and they had sent additional product and will charge the additional so total is $101.82. They advised there was another product but I am leery. Why would I pay for additional product that I can't use? Will have to call my credit card company and want the rest of this Wen returned at their expense.

What a bunch of thieves!!! I ordered a 90-day supply to try out. I was promised 60 days to try the product before deciding if I wanted to continue or not. In less than 30 days after ordering & receiving the product I got a second charge to my account. When I called customer service I was initially told that if I returned the product at my own expense the second charge would be returned. I explained I paid no shipping & handling with the 90-day supply. So then she put me on hold & came back saying she now saw my order & would send a mailing label so my mailing charges would be free. She said I would have to ship back the product & then I would get the $79.90 back.
Look.... I only want the $39.95 I was charged on the second incorrect charge. I don't want any more shipments (meaning the one I was advised wasn't going to ship until 11/24/14 which is nearly 2 whole months away). It's not a difficult request. But that's okay, I am filing charges against your company with my bank. And I will tell everyone & anyone about this rip-off company!!

Used it for a month. Used less pumps than recommended on the least amount of days! Hair started shedding during treatments at an alarming rate and is now half as full as normal. Oh, Wen strips your hair alright... Right off your head! For those with the frizzies from thick or "bushy" hair the thinning aspects probably work. But for us fine thin girls BEWARE!!!! I'm still trying to repair and regrow hair... Might have to seek expensive and drastic measures soon as I'm not sure I'll ever have a full head of hair again!!!! And the excessive shedding persists! I am appalled that there is not a warning, but it's the only product Guthy-Renker has been more than glad to cancel shipments of for me. Smelling some lawsuits? Should!

I was so excited to start using Wen until I started to experience a horrible itchy scalp. Luckily I purchased this product from QVC and they are crediting my account...hassle FREE! After reading the negative reviews posted here I'm so happy I didn't purchase this item directly from Wen! I feel badly for the customers who have experienced such negativity from Wen's Customer Service Dept. It shouldn't be that way and I'm disappointed!

I fell for the TV ads so ordered one trial package. They ship you ten times more product than you agreed to and keep charging your credit card. I had to return the product by certified mail and block the charges on my credit card. I won the dispute with AMEX and thought I was done with the WEN scam. Two years later I get a bill from a collection agency named SKO Brenner American. If you buy this product they will haunt you forever! This is an unethical company you should never give your credit card or any info to!

On June 16, 2014 I spoke with the WEN company rep. and changed my order from pomegranate hair care to sweet almond mint. I also told the operator to move my account to every 20 weeks so I would not have too much product. She told me that I would have to Pay $44.39 for three months. The first payment would take place on June 16, 2014 and then one in July and the last payment would be in August. I would then receive another shipment in November. I kept asking the operator if she moved the shipping date and she kept saying yes, I would not receive another shipment until November. On September 5,2014 the WEN company charged my bank account $44.39 and put my bank account on a freeze since I did not have enough funds in my account because I was not expecting to receive any products until November. The WEN company has caused my account to bounce three different time costing me $152.39.
On September 11, 2014 I spoke with an operator named Jamie and she told me that she would refund me the $44.39 in 3 to 5 business days and still I have not received my refund. She also gave me their fax number to fax my bank account information so they can take a look at the bounce fee they caused my bank account. I finally received the return label to ship the unauthorized product back. That was also suppose to come within 3 to 5 business days and I received the label two weeks later. I also asked her to change my account to 20 weeks because the last operator or rep. did not do that. After I hung up the live chat with her, I check my account and noticed she did not changed the shipping date like I asked. So I found a way on my account where I can change it myself and I did change the shipping date to every 20 weeks.
Today September 25,2014 I received a letter from the WEN company reporting that they did not cause my bank account to bounce and they will not be paying me any money. I even wrote in my statement to them that if it was not for their unauthorized translation on September 5, 2014 my bank account would have never bounced and everything that was coming through would have cleared with no problems. The WEN company has stated that they could not find any transaction of my conversation on June 16, 2014 about changing my shipping date. If that is the case then I want to know how my product was changed from pomegranate to sweet almond mint. The conversation was on live chat and if I would have known I was going to have a problem with the company I would have printed the conversation. I want the company to refund me what is owed to me and that is $152.39.

I color my hair every 6 weeks and I shampoo twice. I wash my hair twice a week. This product has helped my hair to be soft, shining and full. I also have the SIXTHIRTEEN MOUSSE, I also do a argan mask once a week. And no hair loss. For me a great combo, I only buy what I need and not from the website.

I decided to try Wen by Chaz Dean about a month ago. I placed my first order and got the package in the mail and tried it for about 3 weeks. In that time, I did notice an increase in my hair coming out with every wash and even when I would comb (using a large tooth comb) after I would wash. My husband even commented on the amount of hair being lost. I did not wash every day but every other day and straighten my hair. I decided to cancel my account and send the entire package including welcome kit back to Wen. Partly because of the product and mostly because of the customer service.
The issue I had was that I could not log on to my Wen account online. After I placed my order it said that I was a non-member so I went to sign up using the email that I had used for my order and when I put all my information in because I got my account number it said that the email was already in use. So I tried the "forgot my password". It sent a temporary password to my email and yet when I put that in it still came up as a non-member. After receiving my package I tried again, with the same result. I would let it sit for a few days until finally I called customer service. The CS rep said that there was an update to the website and this could be why I was unable to log in that once it was updated I would be able to log on. So I gave it a few more days and still nothing (several temporary passwords later). I then sent an email and got a response that my information would be sent to the webmaster to be put in their system and that I would receive an email stating when everything will be updated so I can log in. An email I never got... which I sent back my original package.
I was finally able to log on to the Wen account. In which I noticed that there was another shipment on its way to my house (Again no email stating that a shipment was on its way and I wouldn't have known unless I was able to log in). I then called CS again and cancelled my account, explaining that I changed my mind and they wanted me to put things on hold for a few months, or take them up on a discount. I said no and if I wanted to use the product again I would just create a new account down the road. I informed CS that I would be sending the package that is on its way back as soon as it came and that nothing will be opened and I would like a full refund from my account. She informed me that it could take some time up to 4 weeks before I would get a full refund.
I work in customer service and this was a poor experience. The product is not all it is cracked up to be even though it did smell nice. I did not notice a big difference in how my hair felt from using my regular shampoo or Wen. But I was more disappointed with the customer service and not be able to log on to my account.

I actually loved the product. They quit making the one I used - cucumber mint. The sweet almond is too heavy for my hair. I have an oily scalp. I've tried the others such as pomegranate and lavender but only liked the cucumber one. I have to tell you though like most package deals unless you call to cancel you will be shipped and billed for more product - it's in the small print. As a consumer it's your responsibility to get all the facts. Any time someone offers a trial, the auto bill is in effect. I also must comment on my experience with customer service. Any dealings I had were awesome. They were always helpful and went above and beyond to help. It's a great product and the only reason I can't give a higher mark is that they quit carrying the one I used.

I have ordered their product after watching promising commercial. I was told I will receive WEN hair products for the price of $43.99 and that they also have to sign me up for a monthly shipment. Their sells rep. told me this is what they do for all of their new customers and that's the only way I can receive WEN - but not to worry, I can easy cancel monthly shipment - just give them a call. After placing order I did some research, I know I should have done it before ordering any product and was shocked to read how many horrible reviews it had. Called back immediately but was told they can't cancel my order cause I'm not in their system yet and have to call them back next day. So I did and was told exactly same thing; "you are not in our system yet so please call next day". So I did. This time I was told it's already too late to cancel my order cause its in a shipping status and there is nothing they can do.
I said fine, since you guys have 60 days money back guaranty I will just send it back to you as soon as I get it. I also asked to cancel my monthly shipment and was told it's too late because I have sign up for 3 shipments for over $100 total!!?? I have never, never said yes to anything like that, I never agreed to pay over $100 in 3 installments!! I was so upset and asked to speak to a supervisor, she was nice and apologize and said they will only charge me $43.99 and cancel other payments and shipments and when I asked her to send me an email confirming our conversation she politely agreed. Since I haven't received email I called them today and what did I find out??? Nothing has been changed on my account, I'm still signed up for those 3 installments!!! WEN IS A BIG SCAM AND PLEASE DON'T SIGN UP WITH THEM AND DON'T ORDER FROM THEM!!!

I ordered this product Sunday night. They didn't say anything about auto shipment till the very end. They didn't want to listen to me that I wanted to cancel the account. The rep literally argued with me about trying the product out and if I don't like it I can call back to cancel. I spoke to my friend about this and she said she had the same problem with them and she had to close out her account at the bank because they keep debiting her account. I tried to call them yesterday, Monday 3 times and each time they hook up on me. Call the bank, CHASE Bank - the amount 29.95 was still in pending mode so the agent filed a claim for me and said someone will call be back about the charge. The agent that called me back was very rude, I explain to him about what happen and that I didn't want the merchandise and that I tried to call them 3 times yesterday and I didn't want the charge to go through.
He did call the merchant and I spoke to the merchant and told them that I didn't want the merchandise and to close out the account. She began to try to sell me on the idea that I needed to try the stuff out for about 15 min. and it became a yelling match. Asked to speak to a supervisor, same thing. I told them I don't want the stuff and I want the account cancelled. She said she couldn't stop the shipment, just return it when I receive it. And I told her I was going to refuse the package. But at the end of the call which the guy from the bank was still on the phone said he was going to let the charge go through. Not happy, you know where I will be in the morning. Closing out my chase account.

I started my journey into Wen in January 2012. Just call me "Miss Obvious". It worked fine for the first months. I ordered from Guthy-Renker and QVC. I never had any issues with Guthy-Renker.. in fact they asked a lot of questions when they became aware of hair loss. Anyways, back to my story. Used every formula but one.. it takes awhile sometimes for things to sink in, especially when Chas Dean is such a good salesperson.
It just didn't work!!!
Now, I am using phyto serum to boost hair growth, changed to Devacurl and Cantu co-wash. (Hoping to find something to help hair). Oh yea, my hair was always dry-looking and frizzy with Wen. One last thing about my hair - No longer color hair, very minimal hair products. Maybe mousse once a month. I ALWAYS air dry. I'm sure Wen works for some but use at your own risk.

Earlier this year, I ordered a test kit. It worked okay, then found myself in a membership situation. Then 30 days later, they sent me a large set, 3 16-oz bottles of cleansing shampoo, and three other bottles of product and charged my CC. I had received 2 shipments total and had received yet an ADDITIONAL 48 oz of Cleaning Conditioner that would last me for 2 years as I have short hair and only wash it every other day. Seriously, who uses this much product in 3 months? I called and said I did not love their product and did not want to receive so much product all at once. I asked to return my order, and membership but I was convinced to only put my membership on hold until September and was told they have an empty bottle guarantee so there would be no reason not to. Sounded okay.
I called in August to cancel my membership completely and asked to return the shipment. I was told I would receive an email with instructions, which I never received. In September I called again and was told there was no email that could be sent and the CS agent had no idea what I was talking about and gave me the shipping address to return to. So I gathered all my bottles together, 15 in total, and called to find out which I needed to return and which I was supposed to keep as my "free travel set" or free gift. I am now told that this is past the 60 day money back guarantee. I told the CS agent that I was convinced in May to NOT cancel and was promised I would be able to return with the "empty bottle guarantee". So now I am out $100 and have a bunch of product I do not use or like. EXTREMELY shady business practice. DO NOT EVER SIGN UP WITH THEM.

I have been using WEN for 2 years and my fine, thin blond hair is doing so well that I no longer need to have it permed. I receive regular shipments, but for some reason, my July shipment never arrived and it's now the end of Sept. Customer Service says they have sent me 2 replacement shipments, which I have never received and they give me the same UPS tracking number for all 3 shipments. When I check this tracking number, UPS does not have it on file. I told them to quit blaming UPS and the Post Office. I don't think my order has ever left their warehouse, and they don't have the smarts to figure this out!!! They sent me two free replacement products via the Post Office and I received both within 3 days. To those who have problems receiving their shipment, don't be so quick to blame UPS and USPS--I think the problem is with WEN. I hate to cancel my membership, because I love the product, but I sure have spent a lot of time trying to straighten this out--and yes, they did charge my credit card for the items I have never received. Wish me luck if I need to get a refund.:)

Each time trying to adjust how I used the product. You cannot read the directions or anything else on the back, the print is so tiny. I attempted to reach out to the seller, but to no avail, could not contact them. I am writing this as my experience and that it made my hair smell like mildew, 3 different uses. In addition, made my hair super thick and frizzy. Buyer beware! Order Date: September 8, 2014.

Thought I'd made a one-time purchase. When I went to my Wen account, it said that I'd signed up for shipments every 4 weeks. I immediately called their customer service to cancel my account and order before they'd be able to ship it out. They said they would not have access to my order info for a couple days and that the product would ship out before that but that I could just call and cancel later. This is a total scam. Obviously, they don't want you to be able to cancel before they have taken your money, and from the other reviews on here, then they make it almost impossible to cancel your order.

I have had beautiful long curly hair for years. Due to the occasional fly-aways I decided to give Wen a try. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER! I started with the Mint program and IT DESTROYED my hair. My hair became like hay. Where I used to be able to run my finger through my hair.. well no more. Even my husband commented on how my hair had changed for the worse. The kicker. At work it was noticed and a co-worker suggested I try Wen. I laughed and told her I already was and this was the result. I call the company and was told to give it a couple of months. I did. My hair got even WORSE. I called again and tried to cancel. I was talked into trying Fig "for Free." I gave the Fig a shot as they directed. No improvement. Hair was destroyed.
I had to have SEVEN INCHES cut off to take away the damage! Never in all my life have I had to do this! I called the company to definitively cancel this time and was told I could have no refund as it was past 60 days. So I spent approx. $150 on Wen and then another $180 to get fixed what destruction Wen did my hair. Wen's response? "Please give us 10 minutes of your time to fill out a survey, no we will not refund anything.. have a nice day." WARNING: DO NOT ORDER THIS PRODUCT. IF YOU DO, DO NOT GIVE IT THE MONTHS THEY ASK FOR AS THEY KNOW THIS IS HOW THEY KEEP YOUR MONEY AS WELL! PURCHASER BEWARE!!!

I used the Wen hair care line/system and was not happy with the results. When I ordered the products by phone, I specifically asked if the product would give hair more shine, the answer was yes. I then was asked if I colored my hair, and I said yes, so I asked "would it remove the color?" The answer was NO, and then the rep went on to explain that the product didn't contain detergents, sulfates, etc.... Well not only did it strip my color in about 2 washings, but it left my hair lifeless and WITHOUT any shine. So I was left with dull brassy flat hair and another $100.00 + trip to the salon. I am starting to think that this product is designed for young beautiful woman that really don't need any hair help in the 1st place, (but make for convincing TV models to help sell the product).
I give it two stars, because the over the phone help was so nice, friendly and respectful. I think, if they would show in their demonstrations, models that really NEED hair help, and tossed in a few "over 50" models it would make a big difference in the complaint category, because we probably wouldn't buy it. Also the 3 bonus surprise gifts that were supposed to come with my order? Never happened. I had to call, and received 3 of the same thing - all tiny samples.

A little over a month ago, I placed my first order. I like the product very much. Since I placed my first order, I have been trying to create an online account, which you'd think would be a simple process. The system would not let me create an account and kept giving the error message that the customer account already exists. I know it exists, but I want to create an online account to manage my account. The first customer service rep (CSR) took my email address and said I'd be able to create an online account with a password within 3-4 hours. The phone call lasted about 30 minutes, which was way too long for such a simple issue.
The next day, I tried again, and got the same message. I called customer service again, and after explaining myself to a CSR that seemed to be distracted, ignorant, you name it, at least 5-6 times, I had her verify my information, and it turned out that the previous CSR had misspelled my email address. After she said, "Jesus Christ," twice, about my email address being incorrect, she said she would correct it, and I'd be able to create an online account within 3-4 hours.
Also, I learned that a shipment had been sent to me 2 weeks previously. It was sent via UPS, which sent it to the post office to deliver to me. The post office apparently sent it to the wrong address, as I have not yet received it. I was told by the CSR, after she checked with "someone" for about 15 minutes, that I would be sent an affidavit to sign stating I had not received the product, and another shipment would be sent to me.
For some stupid reason, the company cannot, or will not, have UPS deliver directly to me instead of via the post office, although UPS delivers in my area and is more reliable than the post office. The entire call lasted about an hour (waste of my time). Well, you guessed it, I tried today to set up an online account, and I still couldn't. I called and got a 3rd CSR, who said she had no idea who I had spoken with and that she should have told me that would take 24-48 hours for me to be able to set up my online account. WHAT? I asked for a supervisor since I was tired of all the incompetence.
A supervisor, Elliott, read my email address, which had not been corrected by the 2nd CSR. I had him correct it (finger crossed that he actually corrected it), and he told me I'd get an email from their "offline team" within 2-3 hours giving me a temporary password to set up the online account. I told him that I am not going to keep calling them back to correct something that should be very simple, and I will cancel my account if it is not corrected today. I didn't even discuss the missed shipment with him since I was too tired at this point. I wouldn't be surprised if he had said he didn't see any notes in the system about a missed shipment.
From the comments I have read on this page, it looks like it's impossible to cancel without Wen continuing to deduct from your bank account. If I cancel (which I probably will), I will call my bank and have them issue me a new card number to prevent them from continuing to deduct. I'm not going to go through multiple phone calls with them and let them steal my money after I cancel. Apparently, people who like their product are better off buying it elsewhere, such as QVC, eBay, and Amazon.

My hair was dry and frizzy, just like the "before" models in the commercials. I had tried shampooing less often and using only a good sulfate free-shampoo and conditioner. I was using conditioner only in between shampoos but my thick, semi-curly dry hair was not responding. I don't even blow dry my hair so I don't understand.
Anyway, I tried Wen. And after a week or so my hair looked almost like the models in the "after" pictures, thick, shiny, hydrated and not frizzy. But I couldn't help but notice the handful of hair I'd have in my hands and all over my body in the shower after shampooing with Wen. I hoped it was just the sort of thing that happens when you switch products and continued using the Wen. Then I noticed that my hair had gone from bouncy and shiny to greasy and limp. The curl I had was completely gone. I tried lightening up on the amount of the product I used, the conditioning shampoo and all the other add-ons they don't show you in the commercials.
I was debating ordering the super conditioner that costs around $35-$40 as the ends seemed dry while the scalp seemed greasy, when I braided my hair and realized with horror that my braid was at least 1/2 as thick as it was before I started using Wen! That very day yet another shipment arrived... So I called Wen and told them that I was no longer interested in using their product. They asked why and I explained. They were nice and said that they would refund the last shipment to my credit card which I thought was a nice gesture. Imagine my surprise when they credited all three months back to my credit card.
They're good people. It's just their product made my hair fall out. And now with the help of my old sulfate-free shampoo, jojoba oil, prenatal vitamins and a drastically short haircut, my hair is beginning to grow again. I have baby hairs everywhere but it's going to take me years to undo the damage done by WEN.

Instead, the charge hard posted to my account, increasing my CD balance to a new high balance situation that I have been avoiding to maintain my credit score. What a mistake! Don't waste your time signing up for the monthly, 6 weeks, 8 weeks shipments! Please don't! You will be billed monthly no matter what! Then you will need to speak to an idiotic customer service person that will try to explain and say it was in the agreement. You will then fight tooth and nail to get refunded!
My scenario is a shipment every six weeks. I received a shipment last week and was charged $41.58. This week I am being charged $33.94 for the 3 month supply. What? I thought it was $41.58 per shipment! No! It's a three month supply with the payments broken up over the course of three months! The website is misleading like all the others for these types of product offerings. Shame on me for thinking it wouldn't be like this. Please if you must have this product, read the entire agreement in full. Understand you will be charged extra and it will be difficult if not impossible to get refunded. Or buy it on eBay without the commitment of monthly shipments.

Please be very careful when purchasing these products. My daughter who is allergic to nuts called and ordered the products. She was assured that there was not nut products, guess what there are and she had a reaction. She called customer service and was told that they do have products with no nuts, she said she will try them, and they sent her the Almond products. What part of being allergic to nuts do they not understand? The phone reps have no idea what is in their products they are selling, they are giving out the wrong information. Luckily my daughter caught the mistake before she had a deadly reaction.

I ordered Wen products for the first time, and paid for (what I thought was) a single shipment. I have never agreed to have automatic shipments of anything, but certainly not a product that I hadn't even tried. When UPS sent me a shipment notification, I was puzzled, because I hadn't ordered anything recently. I called UPS and asked who was sending me a package. They didn't know, and couldn't verify the sender's name. I called my credit card company and asked if my credit card had been recently billed, and they confirmed that. I asked who had billed, and they looked, and couldn't confirm the name of the company. All they could find was kind of cryptic..."gr-1". That was it.
After some googling, I figured out that it was Wen. I called them to ask why they were shipping again, and was told that I had agree to have additional product shipped. I told them I had never directly indicated that at all, and told them to cancel. I also told them that I was going to refuse the package. The customer service rep then offered me 20% off. It was then that I began to feel scammed. Wen did not email me about an upcoming shipment, nor did they identify themselves to my credit card company or to UPS. I figured that they didn't want me to know who was shipping, as that might generate an angry cancellation call from them.
I went back to their website, to see how they had gotten this automatic shipping thing by me, and noticed something immediately. On the page with the "order summary" is small print detailing the plan, with one suspicious looking feature. All the text on the "order summary" page is a dark black, all of it, except for the automatic shipping-billing clause at the bottom right corner... that text was a faded light gray. It is obvious to me that they chose to do this hoping your eyes would over-look it... which mine had done.
The evidence points to a company that is using questionable tactics to hook customers. They never actually ask you if you want automatic re-ordering, they merely mention it at the bottom of the "order summary" page... hoping you won't notice no doubt. I am refusing the package when it comes. I received an email confirmation of my "cancellation" from Wen, and a mention that I had a balance due of $89.00... which they would bill me for. Really? They are going to bill me for product I never received? I already paid 34.95 for the product I DID receive... which I did not care for. The bill for $89.00 will never be paid. This company is shooting itself in the foot by resorting to crafty tactics. I would never recommend a company that has such low confidence in its products. They must, or why wouldn't they just be straightforward with their customers?

I purchased a starter kit of WEN Hair cleansing/conditioning products by Chaz Dean. I used it for 30 days on my natural kinky hair. As an African American woman I was eager to find a product that would clean, condition and shine as the infomercial claimed. How disappointed I was! It took too much product to clean my hair. It never felt truly conditioned after it dried and there was no shine. When I called customer service to voice my complaint & request a refund & cancellation of future order, I was treated with verbal indignance bordering on hostility. It took numerous phone calls and an email and 90 days to get my money back! Horrible product and horrendous customer service!!

I am a senior lady with very fine thin hair. When I saw the advertisement showing many women on TV using the product, I decided to give it a try. There was a coupon in a flyer showing the kit for $ 19.95, I decided to cut it out and use it. Two of my friends told me that they were also interested but they did not have the credit card that the company requires. Both friends have credit cards for stores like Sears, JC Penney and some kind of other dept. store. In a few days, I received one kit and then later I received another, then the last one. I gave each of my two friends their kits and they started to try the product.
The first time I tried it, I noticed on the second day my hair was flat and greasy. A friend of mine that used to be a hair stylist saw me and she asked me what had I done to my hair. She said I looked like I had the grease that you lubricate cars. When I heard her comment, I became very angry. My hair is no more than 3 inches all around. My two other friends said the same thing. I immediately called the company and told them that I did not want any more product sent to me, mentioning that my friends agreed also.
Surprise! Surprise! Only a month after I had gotten the original order, I receive 3 more boxes. It's impossible to use that much shampoo and conditioner in just a month. That amount would last most people three or four month using it every three days. This is a SCAM to make people stay tied to the product. Something should be done about this because they are getting rich by using honest, trusting people believing in the false advertising.
I had called my credit card company after the three kits were sent and I told them that in case more was billed to me, to stop payment. I spoke with a person from the company and I told them that I would not pay but that I would waste my money to have it shipped back to them. They expect me to pay for the last three kits and then they said they would give me a refund in 6 weeks. What kind of idiot do they think I am? Guarantee packages.

Should have hung up then, but I ordered the Wen products thinking I would get the one bottle of product that I had agreed to and instead received and was charges for three month kit which I did not agree to. I ordered the starter kit online. I completely understood there would be billing for the automatic deliveries. I even changed the timing of those to be every six weeks rather than every four. What they do not explain is that no matter how often or seldom you receive your auto-shipped order, you will be billed $29.95 per month, EVERY MONTH! Fortunately, I caught it with my starter kit and called to cancel. However, that has been over an hour ago and the promised e-mail confirming my cancellation has yet to arrive. I was quite certain the CSR (foreign) couldn't possibly have understood my e-mail address as it contains a "V," a "D" and an "N" letters difficult to understand over the telephone the first time. I was very happy with the products but very unhappy with the auto shipping and the sketchy way they do it. As a result I'll never use it again, when if they were upfront about the process, I would have been a happy customer. If I ordered it once to try, why would I want 3 times as much shipped to me next time? Also why would I want to make monthly payments on hair products? You have no way not to select automatic billing and it was very unclear that I was signing up for subscription service. I had the chat help walk me through selecting products and they never mentioned it. Then did not get any notification that more products were being shipped again. Why wouldn't they email me the tracking into the second time or some notification so I could cancel? They emailed me the initial time. This is underhanded and bad business.

The product is great. The means of purchasing it is not. Twice I have signed up and twice I have had to beg them to let me cancel. Each time, I just want the ONE product, the cleansing cream, on a monthly basis. The cost is usually $29 per month plus shipping. The initial offer gives you free shipping. I realized I had not received my order for July and called. Turns out, for some reason, I was charged over $100 but never received the order. They said they had credited my account even though I never called previously, so I imagine it was just not delivered and therefore the credit. However, why was it not delivered? And why was it more than three times the price I signed up for? I told them just please cancel me and they did offer a nice discount but it just is not worth it to allow them access to my Amex card. Too bad they do not sell it at stores other than Sephora... There is not one near me. So I will not be buying that product again.

I have long, color treated hair with just enough natural curl to make it frizzy, It is thick and coarse. I usually don't have to wash my hair more than twice a week as it is not oily and doesn't look dirty very easily. In the past, I have tried everything on the market to straighten and style my hair. Some of the products I have used have worked well enough, but none could stand up to the humidity. I live in the South, where the humidity hovers around 90% most summer days. Most of the time during the summer, I have to pull my hair up in a pony tail or a bun because it is a constant battle between my hair and the humidity. Humidity is the undeniable winner.
I ordered the Wen Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner, Re-Moist Intensive Hair Treatment and Styling Creme. After the first application of these products, I was sold. My hair was softer and shinier than it has ever been in my life (I'm 50!). It is summer time and the humidity is in full effect, but you can't tell by my hair! It has stayed straight and soft through high humidity and even some rain. The third time I used it, I did an abbreviated version of what the directions say, and I won't make that mistake again. I didn't leave the product on as long as is recommended and I didn't rinse with cool water and my hair was overly thick and frizzy. I just used the products for the fourth time yesterday and once again, my hair is soft, shiny and frizz-free. I will never use another product on my hair. I can see how Wen wouldn't be suitable for every type of hair, i.e., thin or overly oily hair, but for someone like me, with thick, coarse, frizzy, dry hair, it is truly a gift!! Thank you, Chaz Dean! You are a hair genius!!

My problem with WEN isn't the product itself but the company. I ordered WEN back in February 2014. I was satisfied with the product but after careful thought and review of my finances, I had to cancel. I call up, cancel, and think that's the end of it. The rep on the phone did say I could pick 3 products for only $24.95 a shipment and I was almost intrigued but then she slipped and said it's actually $75 something but you pay it in 3 installments. Hi, I finance a car and other things but not my hair. So I cancelled. Or so I thought. In May 2014, my credit card was charged for a shipment of WEN, which I never ordered. I called to say I cancelled in March and they noted that I had called at that time but no mention of me canceling. The rep said he would cancel my account. I asked for a letter sent confirming canceled (which I never received) and life went on. Now it's August 2014 and I get charged from WEN for a shipment and have to call and do it all over again.
I am extremely disappointed with the customer service. I don't know if they work on commission and earn points for every customer saved so that's why they don't cancel or what? Any who I canceled again, asked for a letter to be sent confirming I canceled, actually receive this time and it says I have a freaking balance of $134. What the front door!?!?! I call WEN and their records show it's ZERO and I ask for a new letter to be sent reflecting that. I don't even know where the $134 came from as my credit card was only being charged $44.95. I would be wary of doing business with Guthy Renker and/or WEN. You've been warned...

Also that I could not decline ongoing shipments when ordering online. What??? Anyway I cancelled and was sent a prepaid return label for the supersize kit that was on its way.
It took 26 days to receive a refund minus the $15 initial shipping fee for the $146 kit. I was treated fairly and courteously by customer service. However this is a predatory way of doing business. Whether or not the product is any good has been overshadowed by the hassle. We just wanted to try it out before having tons more of the fairly expensive product shipped. And I'm sure we are not alone. If this happens to you it is best not to cancel your check or dispute the charges to your credit card, but do call their customer service and follow their instructions. Otherwise you risk more drama.

Okay here's the deal. I love WEN Hair System but the company is a rip off. I have used this product for a little over a year and will continue to use it on my entire family’s hair. That includes my 2 girls and my husband but I won't be purchasing it directly from WEN. Here is why: First, the system has to be used properly. Don't use it in the recommended way because your hair will fall out or begin to thin. Second, only use the cleansing conditioner and sixteen conditioner together once a week or your hair will become over conditioned. Third, don't use the cleansing conditioner daily. It will break your hair and make it thin or fall out from over conditioning. Fourth, if you use the cleansing conditioner, only use one of the other products like the texture balm or anti frizz. DON'T USE BOTH! If you do, using more than one product, your hair may become hard or frizzy or break or fall out and thin. Fifth, don't mix and match WEN with other products. The end result will be disastrous. Sixth, do not use the amount of recommended product, use half.
Now that I have gone through the don'ts. Let’s talk about WEN's pricing and business practices. Like I said this is an awesome product when used correctly. However I believe that WEN knowing recommends you use this product in a way that is dangerous and will damage your hair so that they make more money. If you are using the product the way that the company recommends you will run out of product within 3 months if not sooner. Which then WEN will mail you a new shipment automatically. I know you’re thinking well that’s great and the way that it should be. Well you’re wrong.
Take this into consideration: 1st WEN tells you that you will pay 29.99 for the first kit with a membership and then you receive a travel kit plus 2 bottles of cleansing conditioner, 1 bottle of the sixteen sampler. Awesome for the price. They tell you when you receive your second shipment you will receive 3 bottle of cleansing conditioner, 1 bottle of sixteen conditioner, 1 container of anti-frizz (or whatever product you choose) - all for the low membership price of 39.99. Wrong that is not true. Yes you will receive those products but no they will not be for the low price of 39.99.
This is how WEN gets you. First you will get a shipment with the items you choose and a charge of 39.99 which they tell you includes the shipping charge. However when you look at the website or the pamphlet they send you it specifically says any purchase over $100 is free, right? Wrong. See you think you just paid 39.99 and that is why you had to pay for shipping but that isn't true. 28 days after you get charged 39.99 for the shipment WEN will charge you another 29.99. Then 28 days from that charge you will receive another charge for 29.99 and by then it will have been 3 months so it will be time for another shipment. So within a couple of weeks you will see another charge for 39.99 and the process will begin again.
So you say to yourself where is the membership deal. There isn't one. You’re paying 99.97 every 3 months for WEN products that you don't need. In addition to the fact that in at least one month you will pay twice. If you use the products the way they recommend your hair will be damaged and will thin and break and fallout. If you try to use the products with other products, your hair gets worse. Which I think WEN intentionally did to make sure you stick with their line.
Not to mention that even if you cancel your order you will still get charged unless you cancel the order before the item is shipped. If not then you are responsible for shipping charges and they will continue to charge you every month unless you call and cancel and make sure they refund the money before it’s charged. Sounds confusing right but in their system it already has it set up to auto charge. So they must go in and refund those auto charges in their system and if you don't receive an email confirming the cancellation then your membership is not cancelled and you have no proof that you cancelled it, and again you will be responsible for upcoming charges.
So in short yes. WEN is a great hair product if used wisely and not the way the company recommends. However, unless you are willing to deal with the 99.97 charge over a 3 month period and being charged onto of the charge 39.99 because the scheduled membership mail out overlaps the monthly charge and the possibility that your hair will be damage if you don't find a good regimen and it may take up to an additional 3 months to actually cancel your membership, then I wouldn't recommend purchasing this product from WEN. Now if the product offer is as a one-time fee charge through another company or website then I say go for it. You will just have to play around with the product to figure out what’s best for your hair.

I have thin curly hair with premature gray. So I have to color my hair every 2 wks. I explained this to the person taking my order. She recommended the "lighter formula: lavender". She stated the shipment would come every three months and that each shipment after the first would only be 29.95. The first shipment came, but it left my hair feeling dry, unmanageable and feeling like "straw". To the point where I had to use my old conditioner just so I could comb through it. Only after the second day, my hair was so weighed down and greasy with dry ends. I had to wash it again just to keep it manageable. It not only requires 16-20 pumps per wash just to have some coverage but after using the entire bottle, I did not see any "less hair falling out or thickening of my hair" as it was advertised.
I received a second and third shipment which I never opened or used. When I tried to cancel and return the unused boxes, they told me I could only return the third shipment and that the refund would take 4-6 wks! Judith (the very rude attendant) also told me that I could not return the 2nd shipment because it was past 60 days! Which was not what was said to me when I placed the initial order. I was told I could cancel and return "at any time" - no questions asked! She also proceeded to tell me each shipment was $90!!! So they have been charging my card $30/month for each shipment, which was also not what I was told when I placed the order; it was only supposed to be $29.95/shipment every three months!
I asked to talk to a supervisor, and "Reshitta" the "supervisor" was also useless and rude. Both Reshitta and Judith kept interrupting me and cutting me off and not allowing me to speak. I was then transferred to a THIRD person (Cindy) who seemed to have better customer service etiquette. She had no problem refunding me for both unused orders and was patient and listened to everything I had to say. Let’s wait and see if she's really going to refund everything she said she would. So disappointed in this company and this product, and from what I see in the Consumer Affairs complaints, so are a lot of people! Do not buy this product! It's a scam!!

This experience has been absolutely painful. I ordered WEN's "trial" package earlier this year via their website. I promptly received my first shipment. I was not thoroughly impressed with the product. I have fine hair and felt it did not do anything for me, in fact it made my hair limper as it was extremely heavy. I stopped using it and went back to my normal routine. A few months passed and ANOTHER package came in the mail... At this point I started wondering why I was still receiving product. It turned out that they had been charging my credit card for all the interim months. When they tell you the product is only X amount of dollars monthly, what they mean is that they are SPLITTING up the payment over a few months because it is actually upwards of $100 CDN per shipment.
The only other notable experience for me was with their customer service. Firstly, expect to spend a significant amount of time on the phone with them. Secondly, do not expect to speak with someone pleasant. My first call was absolutely horrendous and actually left me angrier than I was originally. She was not accommodating and instead put the blame on me. I called back a second time (after speaking with my credit card company about how to get all the money I had spent reimbursed) and the second lady was lovely. However, I have not been reimbursed fully and will likely spend even more time trying to reclaim funds through my credit card company. If you really want to try WEN, go and buy a bottle at Sephora. I do not personally recommend the product and I can say with 100% confidence that ordering through their website was a nightmare.

I, like a lot of people, was curious about Wen Haircare Products. I finally broke down and ordered the introductory kit online. The first time I used it, I used the recommended amount of 10 pumps (I believe it was). My hair ended up being greasy looking once it was dried. I tried less pumps the next few times with the same result. I called in and was advised to use even less which I did and my hair still looked greasy and flat when dried.... hardly the look they touted on their infomercials. Somehow, the lady I spoke to at WEN talked me into getting a different "scent" saying the one I had wasn't for my type of hair. Ok, I decided to accept the shipment but in the interim decided that I just should use regular shampoo (in the meantime, numerous kits arrived on my doorstep while I was at work so I was unable to refuse delivery).
When I called 5 months after my initial kit arrived I was told I couldn't get a refund for most of the product because it was out of their 60 day money back policy. I was furious because here I had numerous unopened kits that could have gone back, but they weren't going to refund all of my money. I talked to one of their Floor Managers and he agreed to help me out since I hadn't called in sooner because I had had a death in my family and my attention at that time had not been on returning product. I was thankful that he was willing to make an exception. I returned ALL product as directed to the appropriate address (all boxes unopened except my original trial kit). So far I have only received a total of 2 credits out of 8 charges. I've been on the phone with their Customer Service Dept. 4 times since I returned product trying to get my full credits only to get the complete runaround.
The latest call was today whereby I finally got the floor manager on the phone and in the middle of our conversation, we got disconnected. I called back only to find out I was routed to a different call center and they can't get in touch with the guy I was talking to. I called two more times and finally got the correct call center (by sheer random chance). The Floor Manager wasn't there to talk to... another Floor Manager got on the phone and refused to give me the rest of my credits due to the fact that the return was outside their 60 day policy!!! When I got angry and told her it was "**," she told me she understood my frustration, but couldn't help me. How can she understand my frustration? If she did, she'd refund my money.
When I told her to connect me with the original Floor Manager, she told me he was out at lunch. After I told her the customer service was lousy and the whole thing was ** up, she hung up on me because of my profanity. I am so angry and frustrated that a million dollar company can't make an exception and refund the total amount due me (approx $ 240.00); after all, they have all the product I returned (mostly in unopened boxes). Guthy Renker is the company behind WEN and they are very responsive... I've ordered from them many times. My last resort was to write them an e-mail appeal to try to have them step in. Let's see what happens. My advice to anyone considering WEN Haircare products, skip it. It's not worth the hassle.

On May 28, 2014 I ordered a basic Wen Hair Kit from the website of Guthy-Renker@crm-inet.com and charged the amount of $29.95 to my Visa debit card. On June 29, 2014 I noticed a charge of $33.94 on my account, and e-mailed them about this charge. They said it was for the first of three installment payments, totaling $101.82. I immediately canceled my account and they sent a confirmation e-mail of the cancellation on July 1, 2014. The agreement I read on their website said there was no commitment required, and no minimum to buy, so I did not expect any further charges. I received the 2nd shipment they are charging $101.82 for! Today, I am returning it with tracking and asking that these charges be reversed. Of course, I will pay for shipping. I feel this is false advertising because I did not receive any prior notice of another shipment or additional charges. My basic order stated it was a trial package, with free shipping, and free gifts, not a commitment..

First I tried to cancel my auto-ship but the phone kept redirecting me! They kept saying positive comments about Wen Hair Care and how I should continue using it. I tried to cancel but they always stopped me after I pressed a button - This went on for about fifteen minutes before I got fed up and hung the phone. After that I tried the live chat on their website. Imagine my surprise when they told me they will close my account manually. What happened? A month or so later, another shipment arrived - with a charge of $100.00!
I wanted to cancel because I didn't have enough money to continue paying (and the shipping fees of returns were horrible!). So I continued to talk to customer service (the initial purchase was an expensive gift I bought for my mom) and they told me my account was never canceled! Aren't they supposed to keep track of these conversations? They neglected my previous try at returning the items.
Of course, I used a debit card so they couldn't really deduct anything without money in my bank. Luckily, they stopped sending shipments after I couldn't pay for the first one, sending me mails about an overdue payment. My payment method was supposed to be subtracted FIRST and I never changed my payment method to a pay later program. Now my credit is dwindling, I made enough money to pay for it, and they won't respond to my emails notifying them I could pay for it! I added my debit card into the payment option and no amount was subtracted. Now they call it a "delinquent" balance and they'll notify some kind of collection center. Wen is a big company. I hope I could make an argument.

I made a first purchase of the Wen by Chaz Dean hair shampoo and conditioner kit which was advertised for $29.99 plus free shipping. This was on their official website. I thought it was a great deal and had been wanting to try this shampoo. After it arrived and I tried it, I hated it. It made my hair dull and feel greasy and unclean. I returned the product as it was said I could return it within 60 days to get my money back. I paid for the postal fee to return it along with tracking per USPS. It arrived to them on 6/16/14 per USPS tracking information.
On 6/21/14 much to my surprise, another box of Wen arrived on my doorstep! Inside was an invoice for $101.82, stating that they have charged my credit card for $33.94 and will proceed to charge it again for the next 2 months! I went crazy as I had not agreed to any auto shipments and I would never agree to spending over $100 on shampoo! What was more frustrating was that I hated the shampoo and had returned it. I then called my credit card company and found out they had charged the $33.94 on 6/17/14 (one day after they received my return of the shampoo that I purchased but did not like).
Did they think I wanted more of the shampoo that I had just returned because I didn't like it?? I then called the 800 number for Wen (which is very hard to find and they kept me on hold for a long while, pushing prompts, etc). The live person I finally spoke with argued with me that I had entered into an auto ship program when I made that first purchase. I went back to the website and the shampoo deal for $29.99 plus free shipping, nowhere states anything about auto ship agreement. It is not until the final checkout page that there is a paragraph in fine print off to the side which says it's an auto ship agreement. Now I have to pay $15 to return this heavy box of the auto shipment PLUS they are going to dock me another $11.97 in shipping charges before they will credit my credit card. I have disputed the charged and I hope I win with my credit card company.
This is definitely BAIT AND SWITCH sales tactics and they are very shrewd in their advertising techniques and also their invoices are also done in a shrewd manner, not providing a customer or order number ANYWHERE on their invoices!! Plus when you return one of their products and have to fill out the return paperwork, they make you rewrite a "code" number which is very long and complicated and that corresponds to the product you are returning. Again, bait and switch shrewd sales tactics to discourage the customer from bothering to return the product.

I thought maybe it was a nutritional imbalance. However, I supplement with Biotin for hair growth and never had a problem with hair loss in past. I spoke to a friend who mentioned she heard that Wen users were complaining of the same. Coincidence? I think not. Will return 3 month supply I just received and cancel. Beware. Also, ingredients are not natural by any means. Gluten sufferers also beware as there is wheat protein which can cause a reaction. Again I went back to the company (not an easy process, probably made difficult enough for customers to give up) and got it cancelled again with a return label. I will not give Chaz Dean a bad reputation. My first order was from Guthy Renker Wen by Chaz Dean. I tried the SAM CC I loved because I am in transitioning of my ethnic hair and it made my new growth soft easy to comb and the relaxed portion was also extremely soft. I couldn't stop talking about it and having my coworkers touch it. Since I love SAM CC I thought I would also try the FIG CC since it was especially made for ethnic hair. I did not like it because my hair was not soft, it was hard and rough to the touch. I must mention that when I tried WEN the first time I was also coloring my grays using JUST 5.
The second time when I used FIG I was using BEGIN Semi-Permanent. Coloring hair does have a reaction to any hair products. I contacted Chaz Dean Studios and found out when purchasing authentic WEN Chaz Dean recommends customers to only purchase through the Chaz Dean Studio website, QVC, Guthy Renker which handles their infomercial or Sephora. Although Guthy Renker does carry WEN there is a slightly different version of WEN than Chaz Dean website www.chazdean.com. They are both WEN products and are both created by Chaz Dean.
Because of regulations on products sold internationally, the ingredients through Guthy Renker is changed slightly. Chaz Dean worked very hard to make sure that the quality and philosophy behind WEN is still upheld, and that product performance would be identical. Amazon does carry but if go to their website and order you will notice WEN, Chazdean studios, ChazDean, and WEN (R with circle around it) for Kids. The one that says WEN is not authentic and they only carry a few products. Hope this was helpful!

Several months ago, I ordered what I thought was a one time product sample of Wen shampoo and volumizer. This one order started an unending chain reaction of unauthorized credit card charges for products I never ordered - months of unending shipments and returns. Calls to Guthy-Renker (Guthy-Renker is a Santa Monica, California based direct-response marketing company that sells products directly to consumers through infomercials, television ads, direct mail, telemarketing and the internet) were never satisfied and I had to finally have a lawyer intervene. I also had a family member that ordered a sample (Parade Mag ad - again Guthy-Renker) paid by check and received the product. Within 6-8 weeks an order was delivered - not opened - refused and sent back - then a bill for $104.77 was mailed...more calls to Guthy - this is still being fought! BEWARE- of the auto mailing of this product and GOOD LUCK. Honestly the product is not worth it.

She then told me that by purchasing the trial kit, it automatically set me up to receive quarterly shipments. I told her to cancel my enrollment and I paid the outstanding amount to the collection company to avoid a negative report to the credit rating bureau.
A month later another box shows up at my door. I called customer service to find out why they sent me another order. This time for $92.00. She said it was automatic once the outstanding balance was paid. I informed her I had canceled my account several months earlier. She said there was no record of that but would make that entry and give me credit back once I mailed the box back. I asked for a confirmation number for the cancellation. She responded to me they don't have that policy. So I mailed it back registered mail and lo and behold I get another late notice 7 weeks later.
I called customer non-service just to hear them tell me they never received the box. They told me to wait for a couple of weeks and they were sending me an affidavit to sign and send back. I am sending them their affidavit along with the receipt for the return plus the tracking info that shows it was delivered to them. We'll see what slimy way they try to get around this now.

On January 7th, 2014, I ordered the deluxe kit from WEN. I waited a month for them to ship this to me, only to be told it was on back order. I never received any email or any phone call to let me know it was on back order. So I call them to ask what the hell was going on with my order. They finally tell me it was on back order. They tell me to wait a little more as it was apparently shipping in the next few days. Apparently to them that was what was really going on. It didn't ship. So I call back and cancel my order.
I finally receive an email confirming my order being cancelled. Throughout all of this crap, I still manage to email them through their website and complain. A few days later I get an email from them stating that because it was on backorder that I was never charged on my account. I use a visa debit so everything I buy online comes out of my checking account. Anyway they tell me after multiple emails, they tell me that my account was credited for 45.15$ and that it would show on my next credit card statement even after I told them I paid for these stupid hair products through my bank account.
Then we get to today where I’m told that my account is closed that they don’t see a charge on my card and that they were not at fault. That if I want my money back that I have to call my bank. So I call my bank after speaking with a rude supervisor from WEN. My bank tells me that WEN never released my funds after they had assured me that they did. WEN Hair is not a company that does honest business. Heed my warnings people... You will get scammed. Fortunately, if this happens to you, call your bank and have them investigate so you can get your credit back to where it belongs.

I forgot totally that he owned the hair product Wen so to my surprise I was charged twice for no reason. Immediately called Wen and they said its because of another auto shipment and boy was I furious but I told her to cancel and she said that she doesn't see any charge for $38?... After reading everybody else's reviews I'm not gonna tolerate this. As soon as I get off work I'm calling back to demand my money back and gonna get the manager's name and make sure my membership is canceled because this product is a big fat scam. Ordered a starter kit which included several "free" products for $29.99. I thought that was a decent deal for all the products. When I opened the packing slip I found that I was enrolled in an "auto ship" program. I don't recall signing up for that. The auto ship is $29.99 PER MONTH (and only includes 1 product), but the product only ships every 3 months! That equates to $360 a year for 4 bottles of "cleansing conditioner" or $90.00 a bottle! I've only used the product a few times and kind of like it, but not enough to pay $90.00 a bottle. I called to cancel and hope it really is cancelled! The next day I got the "free" bottle of vitamins only to find that that was also an auto-ship trap. Called and cancelled that also. After reading other reviews, I will be scrupulously checking my bank charges to see if I am still being charged.

The product is ok (not that I would re-order) but the customer service is awful. I received an auto shipment that I never signed up for or approved. I refused delivery stating I didn't order it, return to sender. I called customer service explained what happened, told them I never approved automatic shipments or signed up for any membership. The first call was greeted with a not so nice woman who eventually hung up on me. I called back and was assured they would cancel my so-called membership.
My next credit card statement has another charge from them. I called again and was told they haven't received the returned package (after 4 weeks) and they are sending me an affidavit to fill out and sign, then they will credit me back the 2 months of charges. Run around doesn't seem to fully explain how difficult they make it to get them to stop charging you. The product does not do what it claims and the company is even worse. If you are considering please don't do it or make payment in a way that they can't auto charge your credit card.

Much to my surprise, in January I received a $111 box of Wen products that I did not order which Wen Customer Service described to me as a replacement kit that was part of my "membership" in Wen products. I talked to two customer service representatives and neither of them could tell me how I became a "member" of this group. Wen will take back the products, but I must pay the shipping and handling both to and from their company. I believe this is a very questionable marketing practice targeted at unsuspecting customers and I think it should be discontinued.

Instead, I got an affidavit that I needed to sign stating that I had not received my shipment. At the time I was happy to sign the form because I had not, in fact, received my package. I called customer service once again to check to see if a shipment was coming and had another battle with a rude agent. I finally got my replacement shipment and then realized I was actually charged for both. I tried to rectify the situation only to find that the company had cancelled my membership. This month, I get another $30 plus charge. I call and she tells me yes, you have cancelled it but the pills were 90 dollars. What... Vitamins, they were broken down by month, you still owe on them. So I decided I no longer want dealings with Wen or Guthy-Renker whatever her name is. Now I did over phone payment for remainder. I saw a really good deal one day that was the regular 30 month supply package plus an extra cleansing conditioner for the same $29.95 price. I called and asked customer service if I could sub in anything for the products I don’t use (deep conditioner, the gel, the pomade stuff) and they said sure. I asked how this would affect my price and he promised it would not affect the price at all. I confirmed this several times, because I knew it was probably not true. Of course, I have nothing in writing. Not surprisingly you can't make changes to the contents of your subscription on your online account, probably for this reason.
So now I’m somehow paying $100 a month, and I called and told them I wanted to go back to how it was and they said this deal I described never even existed! I looked at my order history online and it’s not there either. I know it existed because I still have the two bottles and all the crap sitting in my bathroom and I know what my credit card was charged. It was no larger (and smaller than some) than store bought shampoo. So, I thought they had made a mistake and sent me the original size. Then, I looked at the invoice on the box and saw that they were charging me over $104.00!
When I talked to the company, they told me that I had agreed to the "upcharge" over the phone. That is an outright lie. I am on food stamps and a fixed income and spending $104.00 for 2 bottles of shampoo is way out of line! That is 2 weeks of groceries for me and I would never have agreed to pay such amount and would have cancelled my order right then and there! Granted there were other items with the shampoo, but according to WEN, they were gifts for ordering. They also said that they would cancel any future deliveries and all I would have to pay is the final payment of the $104.00.
Do not be fooled! It is a scam. The shampoo is no better than store bought and I don't see where this guy Chaz (or whatever) gets off saying it is so wonderful. I placed an order for 2 sets of product for a promotional price with a coupon. They said call back any time and reorder up to 5 sets off orders per coupon. I was never told to keep the coupon code for the next call, I assumed it would be on file. They also lock you in a 30-day auto-shipping like Proactiv unless you cancel it. I liked the product and tried to re-order but was not given the promotional price as the first two. I didn't have the code so they wouldn't honor me the price of $29.99.
They claimed their system didn't save the code for future orders. I explained I had not yet canceled the order trial and if they could honor that scheduled shipment (30 days recurrent) to come out next at that price since the offer was still going on. They said no. So I asked them to cancel the order because I could not afford regular price. Later I received a package with their name on it and a transaction debited from my account. So I called them and explained, the rep was nice and said, “No problem, our apologies. It was never canceled last time but we will do so now. Please return the package.”, and a return receipt number was given.
I have an illness that limited me from functioning for months. I never opened the package. Once I returned the package, it was several months later and I was assigned to their collection company NSA in Columbus, OH. When I made sure they had received the product back (via certified mail), I called them (WEN) to clarify my account was closed and cleared and to request they notify the credit agency due to their request for payment. They told me that even though I had returned the product, because it was not during their return policy time frame, they could not clear my account and I still had to pay the collection agency $179.70. That once that was paid they would mail me the product again.
I told them, “No, thank you”, I didn't want the product and they didn't owe me any money so no refund was expected (they kept using the term refund). I didn't want to see the account on my credit report and didn't feel it was ethical for them to say there was nothing they could do but have me pay it anyway. I spoke to Sandra (Rep) then Susan (Manager), then Ryan (Account Specialist) who all told me the same thing. I was very firm and made it a point I would take legal action due to the unfairness of the matter and finally Ryan said he would dismiss the charge and clear me with the collection agency.
If he was able to do that for me in the end why did they all lie, and worst of all how many people have been scammed into paying for their account balance even when the product was returned.
