I have recently damaged my supposedly water resistant phone by just wiping it with a damp cloth. What's worst is that Apple support has been extremely unhelpful in getting an under warranty phone repaired. They have said there is nowhere in New York City or the state I can take my phone to get repaired or nowhere in the country I can even send it till the Covid-19 lockdown ends. But they'll happily sell you another one for full price. Horrible customer service in the middle of a crisis for an essential service!

Bought a new iPhone 11 Pro 256GB at full cost in December 2019. Started having issues with connectivity and receiving calls within 2 weeks of purchase. Since I was travelling shortly after the purchase, I couldn't report the problem earlier. When back in town in later January, reported the problem to Rogers first (provider) and was told to contact Apple for support. Since then, I have made at least 4 calls to Apple support and each time was told to do a iOS update to the latest one available, reset to factory settings, etc..It still has not resolved the issue and now it's May! I'm really disappointed that having paid $1100+ for phone outright, this issue has not been resolved and as a customer had to make a call each month and spend over 45+ minutes to hear the same feedback, "please update to the latest iOS update!!
Quite disappointed with the options Apple had to resolve the issue sooner than delaying it this far. A reliable phone is what I paid for, however, this experience and customer service has left me with quite the distaste for Apple products mainly their service. Specially at a time like this with COVID, everything is delayed even if the phone had to be sent in for a repair, which is an option I was offered during my 4th or 5th call. Who knows how long this will be!! Manufacturer warranty will probably expire by this time. Total waste of my money, time and energy which I cannot afford to lose at this time.

As 1st when I got my Apple iPhone XR as I was switching to Apple from an android phone. I was ok with the Apple XR phone. I started having problems with apps not working and it freezing up, and rebooting on it own. I have does several chat with Apple Support online using my computer. They said go to the apple store where you live and have them replace the phone this was in 2019. Well after the replacement and all the software updates that has to be done that I seem to notice it mess up the phone and causing more problems.
I was still having it freezing up on me while I am on the phone talking, texting, or it would go into a self rebooting stage when the phone is in use or not in use. In January or February 2020, Apple told me to go to Apple Store in Columbia Mall in Howard County Maryland, to have my phone replace. Well not too long after this it started up again with it freezing while on the phone or text, or just sitting there on the table. Oh not to mention the continuing problem of it going into a rebooting stage on it's own for no reason. I feel that this phone is defected and after this last phone replacement I was informed by Apple support in Columbia Mall in Howard county that they cannot replace my phone no more.
Well since the Coronavirus hit the United States, and Gov. Hogan Declared stay-at-home orders and all business and malls to close down to stop the spread of this COVID19 virus. I cannot do a chat to apple support online. So what am I suppose to do keep backing up the phone to my computer and keep wiping the phone out which I don't think I should have to keep doing. Since China makes everything and nothing is not made in the USA. I have had older model of Apple iPhone and never had this problem. I only came back to Apple as I like their phones over android, but now I am not sure about the iPhone no more. I want a replacement or my money back.

Boost Mobile sold an Apple phone that was in a recall for screen. I contacted apple because we were under warranty. After waiting an hour and showing them the recall (‘cause they didn't know?) they told me they would replace my daughter's phone or repair. One week later I get a box, put the old phone in, wait another week while paying my phone bill and get the phone (Sprint/boost-locked). I called them, waited 2 hours. They answered. They told me they would call boost mobile in the line with me to see if they could unlock (apparently apple is selling sprint/boost that is not unlocked). After 2 hours hold they tell me they have to go home and would call me in the morning and they didn't.
I go back and call them. Another 2 hour hold. They hang up after 2 hours, but I'm still on phone with the third party boost mobile, boost mobile answered 3 hours later and told me they can't unlock or re-sku the repair/replacement that apple sent me. Apple and Boost are not working together ... but boost still selling apple phones but if you get a new phone from apple warranty you will have a super long time activating because boost wants you to buy from them and making the warranty a hassle. Apple should stop working with boost. Unless you have 8 hours of your day to deal with this. They hope you give up.

First off when one has problems with an iPhone X the Techs say it is a Software Issue and not a Hardware Issue. Second one cannot get a AppleCare Support person to respond in writing to your email questions. Talking is not a viable way to maintain a chain of evidence. Third each IOS and OS update further breaks the iPhoneXs connectivity and ability to do complete backups of all files (pdfs and podcasts especially). Fourth having iCloud sharing across your devices doesn't work.
We report Connectivity Issues (Bad Intel Modem in our model iPhoneXs), having to shutdown and restart, bad haptics and touchscreen functioning, poor camera focus and lack of medium light photo taking issue etc. We start an Apple Repair and Replace mail in and are charged the day of the order and they send two white iPhone XS (mine is black and my daughters white) under the same serial number. Because we couldn't do a complete backup of my daughters phone they would have a qualified Tech call us or be made available so we wouldn't have to go through their circular protocol of saying "it's a software problem". Why can't they respond to questions in writing such as "Have I been credited for the charge from day 1 of a Repair and Replace", "Can someone confirm and explain why we cannot backup our devices after the latest IOS and OS updates", "Why can't you fix or replace the device and choose to only fix one issue" etc.
In January I got a black iPhone X back (they just replaced the screen without addressing the other issues of connectivity) and a white iPhone X for my daughter and they charged me for another iPhone on the day they sent it to us. We asked for help with the backup issues and where told to just backup to a MacBook Pro. We explained we had tried that and lost many pdf files and podcasts and were only able to get them back from an older MacBook Pro Time Machine save. They won't admit there is a IOS/OS problem with backups. We returned this white iPhone X unused and have been fighting for confirmation that we will be credited for the charge.
Back to the first two white iPhone X we received and the one I activated it allowed me to sign up for AppleCare (The Support person said it should not of let me do that) and I returned the iPhoneX and I keep getting billed for AppleCare for the returned iPhoneX. My Black iPhoneX is having the connectivity issues that were previously reported and my daughters iPhoneX has multiple issues that we cannot resolve because we cannot do a proper complete backup of her iPhone X. Then the AppleCare Support person says "Apple has just changed the period for resolving open case". We are left with $2,400 of Apple Tech that functions at less than 50% of what it should.
If we cannot get written responses to our support questions and Apple chooses to only fix one issue at a time and won't admit they have been manipulating the IOS and OS updates to work around the Intel Modem problem Apple Support is just worthless. PS. I am submitting this on a 2015 iMac 5K Retina (Late Model) and guess what it is doing... randomly shutting down.

Mt first iPhone. I've always had androids. This is the slowest phone ever having to create accounts just to use the phone. Unable to delete unwanted files that get stored on the phone. There's no way to manage and free up space. This is the worst phone I have ever owned. Look at all the reviews with only one star. It's true iPhone is an inferior product. My review is no star.

This is my first iPhone. The main reason I decided to try the iPhone 11 was because it was reasonable priced. I love the Face ID and the large screen. They both make the phone so easy to use. The security and privacy are great which is another reason I decided to try an iPhone. It took me a while to get used to the iPhone operating system but the user guide was very helpful. The camera has some great features. I think the iPhone 11 is a great phone for a reasonable price.

My son took his own life unexpectedly in Nov. His phone was finally returned by law enforcement 2 months after. I kept his phone active because I wanted his images and any possible messages that might have set the stage for his decision. He was mildly disabled and I wanted to make sure he wasn't bullied. When the phone arrived I was going to have hacked but thought I'd go the legal way. I sent in all the correct documentation, only receiving response via email that yes, they removed his password.
When I went to the phone I saw it was Apple ID protected. So, I sent in the request with all the info again...Again stating that I need the content of the phone which I purchased. I received the second approval and told the Apple ID was removed. What they didn't make clear was that remotely they had also erased all the phone's content. I learned that when I took it to an iPhone service center and they told me.
When I called today 2/13/2020, they confirmed that the phone's entire content had been erased.. Where was the SERVICE. They didn't even bother to read why I need the phone's content. They should have asked me first. I have no way now of knowing what the crisis of his life might have been or have any memories of his final days. I am shocked. I knew Steve Jobs..but I will never purchase another apple computer of iPhone again. People need privacy, but there are legal options when it needs broken.

I have had a Apple iPhone X since it launched. Connectivity problems have persisted since I have owned this phone. Apple has been no help with the problem. They always say there are no problems with their phones when it come to the Bluetooth or cell strength. My Bluetooth device drops constantly and it does not do this with other cell phone manufacturers. Apple put inferior radios in the iPhone X. At the time of the Apple X launch they were in a lawsuit with Qualcomm. Qualcomm manufactures most of the radios for cell phones in the world. Anyone's help is greatly appreciated. In a society where Bluetooth is so important for hands free use and Apple will not back a defective product that cost over a $1000.00.

My mom got us involved in a family plan with Apple for a deal we got for Black Friday 2018. The deal was buy one phone and get the other free. She paid $1000 for one phone, which was how much it cost at the time. Plus we got on family plan and I only had to pay my monthly fee. I was always critical of Apple but it was a great opportunity and I got the phone for Christmas in 2018.
At first, I liked the phone. I did notice a few problems right away, such as the phone not working in certain stores although it was minimal. For example, at one grocery store, the phone would not call out, no internet, no WiFi, and texts would not send till I walked out of store. I just assumed the store(s) was blocking my phone but everyone else was using their phone, no problem. I also noticed if I was in a tall building or underground level, if I made phone call, person would not hear me and hang up. So every time I stayed at a hotel for business, I’d have to go downstairs to use the phone.
The real problems didn’t begin till about March 2019, a few months after getting phone. I went to use it one day and person could not hear me, like it was totally mute. This was every phone call. I could talk to my phone, pass vocal tests, yet it would not work. I assumed it was a software issue and I’m pretty comp. savvy but no luck. I even took it into Apple specialist who could not figure out the issue. I didn’t have the ability to send the device in at that time. Months go by, and I’m still walking around with a phone that doesn’t work. I can text and use my headphones but that’s it.
One day, while using my headphones for a podcast, I decided to test something out, and since the headphones have microphone capabilities, I wanted to see if they would work to take a call. Sure enough, they did! I felt silly, because I’ve been using these headphones for months and never tried that. Two months go by, and the headphones mic stops working and I can only use them to listen again.
I buy the same exact Apple earbuds, which was overpriced, I got 1 day delivery on them via (you know who), they shipped out an hour after the purchase, yet it took 11 days to arrive. Never had that happen before on a prime item. Anyway, those headphones wouldn’t work for the mic, but I used them to listen to stuff, which was the last thing I could do on my phone.
The headphones worked for a week then stopped. Can’t listen to anything out of them anymore. I threw the other ones away, a day before these ones stopped working. I can still charge my phone and plug it into a speaker — if it works in the speaker, I would think the headphones should work but I don’t wanna buy another pair when it’s probably the phone. I’ve only had this phone for 13 months, it hasn’t worked and my mom and I are still paying for it..!
See, my mom got locked in a 3 year plan, which was required for the free phone. My mom also purchased insurance on the phones for those 3 years, but we weren’t told till I tried bringing my phone back in the first 90 days, that the insurance only covers the paid phone. My phone has no cracks and has been taken care of, and we were told that via testing, this phone was more than likely defective when we got it. It probably was refurbished, and they can’t find anything wrong with the sound card and it’s passing all the tests, it’s been reset, yet they cannot get the receiving sound to actually work.
I was told I can’t get it fixed because they can only fix the cracked glass/phone, fix the speaker, or charging system. It would cost about 500-600 to do, but I have a unique case, so it might not help, they said. I asked if I could get a new phone, even if I purchased it myself but they said I couldn’t until the plan ends. I can’t add a phone either. And worst of all, I can’t cancel or stop the plan, even though my phone is broken.
To top it off, I didn’t realize this till a year after having the phone, but my mom and I together went to some of those places that have been blocking my phone since day one, and she has the exact phone I do, but her phone would work perfectly fine, while my phone says “no service”, till the moment I step outside. I don’t have this problem everywhere, but probably 30% of public places. Additionally, when my mom heard how low my sound is compared to her phone, that stunned me. I just expected crappy sound cause laptops, tablets and phones typically have crappy sound so you in turn, buy an audio system. But the sound of my mom's phone is twice as loud as my phone. That stunned us and I wasn’t even aware of this till December 2019, a year after getting the phone.
At that time, my mom also confessed to me that the phone wasn’t really free, it was a scam because she’s paying these hidden fees, which pretty much pay for the phone. I am stuck with a phone that doesn’t work, I’m paying for a plan, and I’m stuck for 2 more years. After fighting this with APPLE, I finally was able to communicate with a supervisor and they will allow me to drop the plan, after sending my phone off again, to determine it can’t be fixed. This was right before I ordered new earbuds and the earbud/headphones aren’t working. I’m not going to give Apple any more money, so I’d rather pay a thousand on a phone from android/Samsung.

This phone is awesome and feels like a huge upgrade. The internet will debate the minutia between other makes and other iPhones but it doesn't matter. If you upgrade, you'll be happy. Face ID works easily and fast. Thought I'd miss the home button but it turns out it takes about a day or so to learn a thumb-up swipe instead to get home. Cameras and lenses are outstanding, image quality excellent. It's speedy and has a long battery life. It's of course new and ALL phones will have degrading battery life over time – it's just the best technology there is at this time. The Apple ecosystem is a great home for everything. Ties it all together, safe and sound using iCloud. And Apple privacy is the best things going these days. iPhones are merely tools we use. This version is a great tool.

I have had software issues with my iPhone xr since day one. My dictation literally just typed out iPhone EXR. Doesn’t even know itself. Reception is horrendous. But Apple will never admit that. They will tell you that you need to replace your Sim card. The thing they don’t know is that I have a whole stack of new sims. Makes no difference. Hard reset… No difference. Go ahead and call customer “support”, If they even deserve the title of support, and Wait on hold for two hours and get disconnected.
It is clear to me that Apple cares about one thing only... QUARTERLY PROFITS. How can you let Samsung surpass you in every way possible? How can you put an outdated technology in a premium phone? How can I go from three bars to one bar after buying a brand new phone? Deny deny deny…That is the Apple way!! I have been a fan of Apple products for the last 7 years and have had no problem with Apple products until this year. I sent my phone into Apple back in May for a screen replacement and they could not fix it, so I was given a replacement phone. My replacement phone kept going on and out of service and the screen kept going black. I called AppleCare and mailed the phone back into Apple as they mailed me back another replacement phone. This replacement phone worked great until I did the latest update then it completely crashed and kept saying searching. I was not able to make any calls or receive any messages at all.
When I called, I was told that a select few of iPhone 7s were doing the no service thing and to send my phone in. After waiting a couple weeks to hear back from Apple, they told me they could not fix my phone because I “Tampered” with it. The lady with apple was even baffled at the engineering team who sent her the information. She apologized and did not understand what was going on. I am very upset with Apple over this. Apple you have lost a great customer that had nothing but love for your products until now.

I'm living in Germany... After 1.5 years after purchase I realized that the glass on my iPhone X is swelled. I went to seller and he said that it is too late, warranty for iPhone - just one year!!! And only Apple has one year warranty. Other vendors have 2 years. Then I went to official Apple store. They even didn't want to waste time on "my problems". They said after one year - every repairs on my own expenses. But there is also law in Germany about 2 years seller warranty (Gewaehrleistung). I went to seller once again. He said that this law will only work, if some independent expert can prove that my device was broken in first year of usage. What the point in this additional year seller warranty then? And how is this possible that such expensive Apple devices (over 1.000 euro) have just one year warranty? Now I starting realizing this... Because they are so unreliable!!! This is my last iPhone for sure!

It's a shame that Apple has such a hold over the marketplace. They provide no assistance for issues with their electronics, and let's face it, we all know electronics have issues from time to time. I have been to the "genius bar" for the same iphone 3 times. The last time the Manager stated that she had to "follow her workflow" and replace the display, the same thing they did the last time I was in. The catch is that the warranty will be up in 30 days and when my daughter stated that this issue happens every 3-4 months and that she would be out of warranty the next time it happened (it happened within 3 months of purchasing the $1200 phone), the Manager at the Sommerset location in Troy, Michigan basically shrugged her shoulders. This is unacceptable.
Young kids are paying thousands of dollars for a phone and this is their response? The company is basically gauging customers, has the corner on the market and clearly doesn't understand that their arrogance will ultimately be their downfall. At some point, consumers just won't stand for your apathy towards us when your product fails and clearly has issues. And by the way, the phone was in perfect shape - no dents or scratches, so no, it wasn't damaged by the customer. Please take ownership of your technical issues with your product and stand behind the significant cost of your product.

I've been an Android user all my life. Over time, I've become annoyed at Google's incessant monitoring, recording and storing of all my personal data. So, I recently bought an iPhone 11 Pro, thinking that it would be somewhat better than Android. Not so. 1. No audio jack. Consequence: cannot charge and talk on the phone or listen to music at the same time. The Apple store sells an overpriced adapter made by Belkin that doesn't work. 2. Many useful apps available for Android are not available on the iPhone. If there is an equivalent, it's always pay-by-subscription - as opposed to Android, which is pay once.
3. The Move to iOS app that is supposed to transfer all your call logs and messages from Android to the new iPhone is a complete disaster. It just doesn't work at all. I was unable to transfer any of my messages from Android to the iPhone with Move to iOS. I had to buy some third-party utility to do that. 4. No matter what you try to do, you are forced to use iTunes. iTunes being an app that Apple is discontinuing. 5. Horrible User Interface design compared to Android - and UI design is supposed to be Apple's strength. Everything must be done by swiping. Want to go to your "Home" screen on an iPhone? Swipe up from the bottom of the screen. Android has a "Home" button, a "Drawer" button where you can see all your apps, in addition to the icons you store on your phone screens.
6. Apple Music only plays mp3's and mp4's, and only if they were encoded in the very specific "Apple Way". If you want to play music or watch videos encoded in different - and better - formats, no luck. You need a third-party app called VLC. 7. No theming. Can't install your own icon sets. Must use whatever Apple decided you should. Don't like the default Apple icons? Tough. Apple always knows best. Here's the $64,000 question: Why does this mediocrity cost USD $1200?

I bought a brand new iPhone on a 2 years plan in Toronto to give it to my 14 years old daughter, according to the product specification the iPhone XR is labeled water- and dust resistant. It is IP 67 certified (meaning it is designed to be resistant to water when submerged up to one meter for no longer than 30 minutes.). Because of this information I let my daughter hold the phone while walking by the beach with her friend in less than 2 weeks of purchase and my worst nightmare happened. The phone fell from her hand to get covered by water for less than 5 seconds and it went off for good. I confirmed with her that the device only got submerged by a small wave when she picked it up in few seconds but it was totally gone. Then went to service provider who diverted me to Apple.
When took it to Apple Bar they refused to open it and did not even give me a report of what happened in the phone. I did went to another Apple Support in Fairview and convinced the employee at least to give me a road map to save the device or let me know what happened or why it does not work. He did took it and send it to the service to send me an official email of warranty cancelation and no report or diagnostic of the brand new phone was given to me just a very expensive replacement option and returned the device as is, not fixed and no report about its status.
My main concern is why apple put the 1 meter 30 minutes total waterproof and refuse to believe that it was not resistant to few cm and few seconds in water. They use it as an edge in sales and hold zero responsibility for it. They even let you live with a peace of scrap and keep paying it for 2 years without knowing what happened to it. They should either remove it from marketing and sales or give you any option to resolve the problem that you have trusted them and took the information as facts. What a scam.

But after my registration was complete, it showed me that my credit card will be charged in December after a month.
I contacted Apple support and after putting me on hold for hours, they said they will get back to me as there seem to be some system glitch which made my free subscription charged. And after 24 hours, they wrote back to me saying that I am not eligible for the offer as someone else in my family has already registered for the same. No one else in my family uses iPhone and hence can not avail the offer. When asked for proof which Apple ID received the offer, there is no reply from them. I replaced it with an Apple 4S and since then I’ve been an avid iPhone user, passing down the 4S for a 6S, the 6S for and 8Plus, and 8Plus for an iPhone 11 Pro Max. All of which are still in service and working flawlessly. Apple takes pride in quality and their iPhones, regardless of where the components are produced, are outstanding.
I’m a published photographer and have an extensive Nikon system, but Apple iPhone’s camera quality is phenomenal. The video lux is extremely low, the lens quality is amazing, best of all, Apple’s iPhones have never failed to deliver excellent reception and transmission. Apple’s service is superior to any product support you can find. Due to Apple’s popularity you can find the answer to a question on the internet or just call Apple support. If you’ve tried the rest, spend a few extra dollars and try the best!

I contacted Apple about the situation and spent hours trying to fix the problem with no avail. On my last contact to Apple, I encountered Natasha who exhibited great patience and the commitment to help me resolve the issue. She scheduled call back times and gave me much customer support.
When all else failed, she was able to help me received the necessary support at a physical Apple store that got my phone working again. The first time it fell and broke the back crystal it was in April, I went to the Apple store to have it replaced. But they said that they cannot replace the crystal because it’s attached to the device and it cannot be fixed. The only option was to get another one. Instead, they offered me 700 € (Just one month before I have paid 1300€ for it) and if I paid 600€ I would have get another XS Max. The catch is the new XS Max that they offered me was a phone that hadn’t pass the initial quality control and it’s been resent in production to be fixed. Each time I had it fixed it costed me 120€. I hope the new iPhone they will release this year will have a more resistant back crystal otherwise I will stop buying iPhones.

I use my phone so careful and clean, it was not dropped or brought in contact with water. It is a defective touchscreen issue. My daughter's iPhone 7 is less than two years old and the cellular data will not work correctly and the phone doesn't allow outgoing or incoming calls. I went to the Verizon Store after resetting network settings - which didn't resolve the problem. I was advised at the Verizon Store that it was a known Apple problem and directed us to the Apple Store. The Apple Store provided a loaner phone (iPhone 6) and sent the iPhone 7 to their Engineering Department. A week later I received an email stating that I had to pay $319.00 plus tax to get our iPhone 7 replaced with a new one. I attempted to call the Apple Store where I received the loaner phone and was transferred to Apple Support.
I spoke with a Supervisor named RJ - and she advised me I had to pay $319.00 plus tax because my phone was damaged. I asked what the damage was and she couldn't tell me as that information isn't listed following the "Engineering Review" of the phone. She suggested my daughter damaged the phone without my knowledge. The phone is in perfect condition with zero damage. So I paid nearly $1,000.00 for a phone which didn't even last 2 years? Is this how Apple treats its customers? Is this standing behind your product? I found the treatment by the Supervisor - RJ - to be disrespectful and apathetic.
Presently, I have 3 iPhones & 1 iPad. I will be moving all of my business to the Androids. I am very disappointed in Apple and feel they've lost their way with how they're handling this issue. Why would anyone buy an Apple iPhone to last less than two years? For a Multi-Billion Dollar Company to conduct business in this manner is disgraceful & deplorable. Please be aware of this treatment from Apple & buyer beware.

I love my iPhone. It has been fantastic for the past two years, however this particular iPhone 7 was in the series that had a recall for issues with dropping cell service and not being able to reactivate service. I was not notified that there was ever a recall on my iPhone 7. After taking it in to the Apple store they said that I could either wait 2 weeks for my iPhone and use a loaner in the meantime, or I could trade it in for $250 and get a new iPhone for $599. Complete **! I chose to use a loaner iPhone while they sent my iPhone 7 off to have the entire board replaced. This required me to wipe my iPhone. The loaner iPhone they gave me was an iPhone 6 with only 16GB of storage, which they knew from the backup they had me perform would not be able to download my backup which was over 40GB of data.
Further they informed me that the loaner iPhones are not easy to activate with my cell carrier (Sprint). They had me place my iPhone 7 SIM card in the loaner 6 and sent me on my way. The loaner 6 immediately showed signs that it was not going to work. The first issue was that it would not allow me to sign into the iCloud to set up the loaner. It wanted to send a verification code to my current phone number, which didn't have service because it was not set up. I had to switch the phone that the verification code would be sent to. Upon doing this it hasn't sent a code to another phone and it has been over 24 hours.
While trying to resolve the issue, the second phone that the code was sent to has had its service deactivated. Now there is an additional issue where it displays that the SIM card is locked, making it impossible to utilize it. My loaner iPhone 6 is a paperweight at this point and I am stuck without cell service for two weeks. This is disgusting customer service from start to finish with non-performing products given as a means of appeasing the customer.

I have an iPhone 7 and until recently I had no issues with it, until I started an update. The update got stuck at "verifying update" for over 2 hours!!! I googled to learn how to restart the phone, which I did, however, then I had "no service". Believing this to be my carrier's problem (Verizon), I went to the Verizon store. They informed me this was not their issue but something they've been seeing a lot of lately with iPhone 7 users. They tried to fix it, but the phone kept getting stuck at the update - essentially making the phone useless.
I have been out of work for 4-months so I don't have money for a replacement or an upgrade, but I did need my "phone". Ended up calling Apple who explained they knew of this issue and if I sent my phone back to them they would repair or replace it at no charge. I still needed a phone, so in order to get a loaner phone, I had to go to an actual Apple Store. From where I was (Vero Beach, FL), the nearest Apple Stores were a 100 miles either north or south of my location. So needing a loaner and having NO options, I drove the 100 miles to the Orlando store.
I will now have to drive back to Orlando to return my loaner and get my repaired phone. Another 200 mile round-trip with tolls - still no job - still no income. I had contacted Apple Support, Apple Customer Service, the Apple Store Orlando Manager, and yes, Tim Cook himself in hopes that Apple would compensate me for my aggravation, stress and costs spent dealing with this issue - an issue they knew about and yet did nothing to notify users. Because they were not proactive, it put the sole responsibility of their known problem on my (the customer) shoulders.
After hours of conversations, sadly I have to report that Apple is not the company I thought it was. They don't seem to care that I have been inconvenienced because of their poor business practices. Until this situation, I had been a happy Apple consumer and reference. This is no longer the case. They have made NO attempt to do ANYTHING to help me in this situation. They will not compensate me for my time, gas and tolls. They have not offered to help with returning the loaner and getting my defunct phone back.
A billion dollar world-wide company can't do anything to help resolve a problem they created?? It's a sad day for all Apple users. NOTHING TO HELP. Maybe they don't care, but they have lost a customer (and reference) today. I will eventually get a new job and will then be able to upgrade, but it won't be to another iPhone. Also, I have other Apple products which I will promptly sell. I am completely disappointed in Apple, they have let me down.

I have been an iPhone user for many years and my last iPhone 6s worked fairly well until Apple sabotaged the operating system by automatically updating a phone which ruined the battery and efficiency of the phone, which they admitted to doing, consequently giving us older iPhone users a deep discount on a new battery. Well, that didn't help much and I was forced to look into getting a new phone. My friend had a family plan with Sprint and offered me to get what looked like a "FREE" phone plan under her plan with a lease purchase of a new iPhone 10r.
Well let me tell you... it has been nothing short of HELL! First of all when we signed up (she got a new Samsung and I opted for the iPhone 10r to replace my 6s), our experience at the Sprint store was around four hours! I had another Sprint service with Virgin Mobile (which is Sprint USA) but for some reason these salespeople don't know their left from their right at Sprint, and it became an exhausting process to switch accounts. Even a manager has to get involved which he didn't know much more than the rep. I left the store, got home and my phone did not work... YIKES! This is my only communication device I use for my business so you can imagine my anger after being there for four hours! I returned the next day, and they CLAIMED something was awry with the SIM card slot, so they replaced the whole phone and that took another two hours by the time they transferred my data... YIKES!
Anyways long story short, I have had constant issues with this second phone, even going back there again and complaining about so many dropped calls and audio quality issues, some tech person claimed he reset something but I have still had the same issues. I even spent three hours at the Apple store in November to have the phone checked out and they claimed it was OK. After reading numerous complaints in forums about this iPhone 10r it is clear that Apple has known about at least the audio issues for a long time and has not provided any clear cut solutions for their very expensive phones. It is a sad reality today and one that they should be held accountable for.
Secondly I do believe that Sprint just likes to sell and sell and sell phones without any accountability to congested cell phone towers and the building of new ones to address increased traffic. It is disgusting today that there is no accountability for any of these companies and we, as consumers, have to bear the brunt of losing sleep, getting stressed out, and wasting our own valuable business time on these morons that don't give a hoot about us! These issues really need to be looked into more deeply as they get worse and worse and worse!

Why I am rating Apple’s iPhone... All my comments apply to Apple’s (a) iPhone, (b) MacBook, and (c) iPad... All of which I own. First, I like the seamless compatibility of Apple’s devices because they sync innately. Second, Apple’s devices reliability is second to none! Communication between Apple devices is dovetail. Third, their apps and software, and third parties approved apps and software works without a glitch due to Apple’s first class quality control making them the Industry leader. Now, while one may complain about the premium price - my motto is - you get what you pay for! Nevertheless, Apple’s devices resale or trade-in value more than compensate for their initial price. Finally, keep in mind that all of Apple’s software upgrades are free; moreover, Apple’s customer service rivals that of Nordstrom’s!

Everything is very intuitive and even the very young and very old alike can pick it up and be fluent fairly quickly. I love that everything is backed up in the cloud for free. If you lose your phone or it gets destroyed you can get a new iPhone and have everything exactly like the lost iPhone in less than an hour!

I don’t read newspapers, books or watch movies on the phone. I’m not interested in playing games, etc, on the phone. I use it for the basics and it’s fine for all that. Oh...one thing that is really useful is the camera. The latest iOS upgrade damaged my iPhone 7. Prior to that the phone was working fine, including the docking/charging interface. However, I have now been told that I must pay for the entire repair because the doc has visual damage. I was told that this is Apple policy. In every other world, if you broke it, you fix it. Apparently, not so for Apple. The supposed damage to the port is cosmetic only. But now we are stuck with a logic board that was damaged by their upgrade. The $319 price tag for this repair is unfair. I can buy a new iPhone 7 in the box for nearly the same amount.

I had an iPhone 6, with a consistent call drop problems, my wife had a different phone and she never had to face call drops in a big city where we lived, definitely it was not a mobile network issue. Whenever I went with such problem, they just happen to replace the phone and pray that the new model don't have same problem. That problem existed long enough to make me tired of going for another replacement
After 1.5 years of use, I cracked my screen. Apple Store replaced it for about $140. After a week of use, I faced problems when my screen won't respond. I went to store again and they did all technical tests and saying there is no problem. I had to literally make a video about these problems to make them accept it. The best they could do was to discount $140 on buying another iPhone 6. I think, I would have been fine with a little crack on the screen rather than spending another $450 in total. In my remaining life, I will never ever use Apple phone or any other Apple product, my first experience was enough to stay away from such pricy products with a big ego about not accepting anything wrong in their products/services.

My iPhone 7 32GB stopped working. I was getting no service to my phone and receiving an error about needing to update cellular etc. I called My provider (Verizon) about the issue. They stated my specific model A1660 has a known issue which Apple sent out communication about **. So I went to Apple and submitted my phone for repair under the impression it would be fixed at no charge of a component for the main logic board had an issue. Later I received a email and link from Apple stating the repair would be $319. The link led to the repair status. The repair status was really vague meaning it didn’t say what exactly was wrong. So I called Apple support to get the details.
Basically, they could only review the notes which stated there was an issue with a component in the main logic board and they told me this was not related to the “no service” repair and it didn’t qualify for a free repair. However, they couldn’t tell me which component in the main logic board had the issue nor could they tell me which component issue in the main logic board would have been covered in the main repair.
After, I spoke to Verizon and they said Apple sent a letter to all the providers stating they would repair for free the component issue in the main logic board. I explained Apple declined to do the repair at no cost. I called Apple again and explained my case and they essentially said I would have to pay for the fix and the issue wasn’t related to the “no service” free repair. They could tell me which component would have qualified or which component on my specific phone had the issue. I went to the Apple store. They said they only can tell me what the notes say and they are not able to authorize a free repair and I would have to get my phone back unrepaired and bring it in and maybe they can tell me what exact component in the main logic board has the issue.
Bottom line Apple sent out a memo stating the issue and pointing out it's a component in the main logic board and it would be repaired at no cost unless it had a crack etc. The diagnosis was such. The only thing they are holding on to it’s a different component but they aren’t able to tell me the name of the component with the issue on my phone and the component apparently they meant under their memo so there’s not a distinction between the supposed components. This to me sounds very suspicious and not transparent. It’s really unfortunate Apple isn't being transparent with accurate and detailed information that would be available to the customer. Looks like I will have to get another phone.

I use the the iPhone 5 because it is the only one you can use in daily life without it being damaged in your pocket. Screens break, chassis bend and water can damage all the new ones. If Apple continue to provide products which are not suitable for daily life then they will soon lose me and my family as customers. As I see their products are not fit for purpose. The costs of repairs are nearly as expensive as the phones are to buy, if they can be repaired at all. This shows either very poor engineering of a product or very clever marketing where they make even more money repairing a product which was never fit to be sold in the first place.

After updating my child’s iPhone 7 model A1660 to IOS 12.0 I received a message saying “Cellular Update Failed”. Interestingly the iPhone had been working fine before until the update. After researching the topic I came across a number of threads for this problem and about the iPhone 7 “no service” repair for free. The phone is one of the model numbers included in this repair. I made an appointment and took the phone in for a repair. At the store they let us use a loaner phone in the meantime, after about 15 days I received an email and a text message stating my phone was ready to be picked up, so we went back to the store, asked for the phone and an Apple employee went inside and brought the phone back, switched phones and rapidly gave me a paper that said “during our inspection we found other components damaged so the repair couldn’t be done.” I asked what needed to be fixed?
The phone failed after software update sent by Apple. She then went inside to gather information. When she came back she said “she doesn’t have access to the notes and they don’t know what else needed to be repaired” but she knew it was going to be $299 plus tax if I wanted it to be fixed... I asked for a manager and she told me the same thing. I’ve bought 2 MacBook pros, about 6 iPhones, 4 iPads, 4 iPods all NEW from them... And now that they are offering a “free” repair program they don’t wanna HONORED it because they can’t fix one thing without the other?
The phone had worked just fine before this software update and now my only option is to spend $300+ or forced to buy another device? Shame on you Apple. Plus they would not tell me what ELSE IS WRONG but they can tell me is going to cost $300+ to be fixed... I say: if you have been turned away or if you were forced to buy a new devices because they didn’t honored the free repair, which seems to be many people, contact me. We can all get together for a class action lawsuit and make Apple do us right.

After she finally got it back, they had scratched up the back cover. She was so tired and upset by this time that she did nothing about it. Today I called Apple Tech Support and the gal was wonderful and *seemed* very sorry, but I had to get some numbers off the phone so was given a case number to call back later.
I got the numbers and called Apple TWELVE times. Each time the computer would tell me it would connect me and then drop the call. It must have been a total fluke that I got someone the first time. I then tried live chat. The gal was sorry, but not really. She said my friend needed to go back to that same store and take care of it there. Talk about torture. Go in and wait with a 4 year old for another 7 hours when she has a part time job cleaning houses. So they call her to try to work something out and, as it is, there are no appointments available at that mall where the idiots work so she would have to travel elsewhere.
I don't own any Apple products, never have and I wish someone would tell me why anyone does? These people are so sure of their jobs, they don't give a flip for the consumers. I do like HP. Last time I had a lot of trouble with an HP computer, tech support sent me a new laptop worth three times what my basic model was worth to make up for the trouble. You will never get that type of customer service from Apple. I KNOW I am wasting my time writing this...as has everyone else here. I got my Apple iPhone 6s from my girlfriend after losing yet another Android on holidays. I have always loved Android... easy to use... dependable... inexpensive accessories and parts and way more apps to enjoy. However I thought I would jump on the Apple bandwagon and give the phone a try. The phone is dependable yet seemingly simple, lacking (in my opinion) the “features, apps and pizazz “ of Android. My real issue with this phone is the last update apple did to iOS 12 (and then 12.1). Almost like clockwork my battery life disintegrated. You can watch the battery almost countdown like a clock as you perform the simplest tasks like reading the news. Oh ya I went online and followed all the recommendations to save “juice” but that only helped little bit.
I am confident that my battery didn’t just give up the ghost all of a sudden. This is an iOS issue and it pisses me off. You can read about all of this online as it appears to be a major issue for many people right now. Unless Apple addresses this problem soon I would highly recommend dumping the iPhone. Apparently, I also read that Apple (although they seemingly deny it) built this battery kill mechanism into their IOS to prompt consumers to upgrade to a newer model and spend another Gnote +. I will never use another one.
