This company is a scam. I tried their "trial" period. You can't cancel until they charge you. You literally can not access "manage Plan" until they have charged you. So you can't cancel. I had to block all payments and PayPal from them to keep them from getting my money after the trial. I don't want the service so I'm not going to pay these scammers. If I see this come up on my bank statement one more time. I'm contacting a lawyer. I'm sick of these companies that steal our money through micro transactions. Oh and customer support did nothing..

The issue always comes back, I get disconnected, they seem ignorant and ask really stupid questions. I don't know what to do.

Adobe drains the resources on my computer and is constantly running all sorts of different things in the background that I don't want to have access to my computer. I'm trying to get help, but their chat sucks and their tech support doesn't know anything. The customer support people in India are very nice, but they didn't try to help me. The tech support guy was recounting my question completely wrong and clearly knew nothing technical. He then put me on hold and came back saying he couldn't find my account, even though it was already verified before they transferred me, and then I asked him to read my email address back to me when he just cut me off and transferred me back to the accounts support. They will not give a direct number for tech support. Their chat feature does not have an option for tech support. They have the WORST customer support.

What an absolute shame that such a superior product is run by such a terrible business model. They are more interested in running all of the invasive and resource draining background tasks than they are just providing a quality product. I would love a comparable alternative to adobe products without the unwanted invasive resource draining background tasks and terrible support. I've used Adobe Acrobat since the 90's. I have used Adobe products since 2002. I had ridiculously sad news given to me by Adobe that had taken all my photos and videos from Creative Cloud and deleted every single one of them without going out of their way to notify me of such a tragic disservice. When I notified Adobe that Creative Cloud was no longer on my computer, they told me that they had deleted everything and had given me notice in February.

But I got for an excuse that they were moving into a new format or something and notified everyone of this occurrence. However, I had notified Adobe several times prior to them deleting my photos, and not one alert or notification by anyone I spoke to, not even a notification or alert on any of the responding emails of my interactions with Adobe to alert me of this horrendous Injustice after paying for years, and putting my trust and Creative Cloud to hold under safekeeping of their promises to have my assurance that my files were safe with adobe. Although they said they had notified me several times in February to let me know, I never received any email saying that they were going to obliterate all my files from Creative Cloud if I didn't do something, or open my email and respond.

Now I am left without any files, and backup files have to be reassigned to Premier Pro for all of my video files, and I hope I can do this, but it will take a lengthy amount of time and money to get them all where they are working in synced to be able to create new videos from old files. This is so disconcerting. If there are any suggestions on what to do, I am up for hearing them. I can not believe Adobe did this, with no hesitation or resolution. I have been an online customer for at least 6 years and pay almost $100 a month for this, now, disservice.

I tried chat help, and they would only offer me a discount to continue service that I didn't need. They would not waive the shockingly high cancellation fees. Use the service if you'd like, but be cautious about payment and licensing terms - especially if you are a small shop. Customer service will not help you with mystery charges and wild fees. I subscribed to Adobe on an annual plan with monthly payments. While I understand that there are termination fees when canceling early, what doesn’t make sense is the way they handle the rest of the term. Even after being required to pay for the entire remaining contract period, Adobe only provides access to the service until the end of the month in which you cancel. This means you're paying for months of service you no longer have access to, essentially giving them money for nothing.

Other companies allow users to retain access for the remainder of the paid term, but Adobe’s approach feels like they’re taking advantage of customers. It’s frustrating and unfair, especially for a company of this size. I would expect better transparency and flexibility. Until they fix this policy, I can't recommend their subscription services.

One of my computers got hacked and I lost administrative privileges and the only way to gain access again was a clean install of the OS which wiped out all information on the computer. When I tried to reinstall Acrobat it did not allow me to activate my copy because according to them I had to many copies installed. Also I was just trying to reinstall my copy on my hacked computer. I tried to decommission my computer through my account but I was not able to do since adobe moved the information to a non accessible computer. I chatted with the help. They were not able to help because according to them they have no access to the server and only see that I have too many copies installed. They put me on a call back list but they never called back.

When I reminded after 3 days that I still have not received a call back they claim they did but got my answering service. Talking to the phone provider the claim was bogus. Then they send me an email when would be the best time to call. I replied what about right now since you are on my case already. 5 hours later I got another email asking me now for my phone number and the best time to call back. Again I gave them the number and said how about right now. Still no call. The customer service and help line are useless and an insult. I should have come to ConsumerAffairs (or any other review site) to read the horrible feedback first. I filled out PART of an application for Adobe Pro before I X’ed out of the entire site (did not complete the form information and I certainly did not approve anything), unfortunately the part I filled out had my credit card number. I had a suspicion, but didn’t see any immediate charges and COULD NOT ACCESS THE SITE when I input my email. An error message came up saying “no account associated with this email.”

Today I found 3 charges each for TWO accounts! When I tried to access the account an error message appears - “no account associated…”. I stayed on the phone for almost an hour with the non-English speaking CSR who put me on hold half of that time. Each time returning saying I could cancel one account only…? Finally she offered three months free on one account. I repeated dozens of times that I didn’t (ever) want an Adobe account of ANY kind. Interestingly, when I said I would report them, the cancellation emails appeared in my email box almost immediately. Remember this is the email address they said was not associated with an account at Adobe. This seems hard to believe for a company this size, but it’s true. Complete scam.

Finally, I was assured the licenses would be removed. The next day, the licenses I spent hours trying to cancel were still showing up on our account and our bill was still several hundred dollars more than it needed to be. I contacted Adobe support again. They said the notes were in the account and the changes would be made before the next bill.

Well, not only did they delete the extra licenses, but all our licenses were deleted, including the active ones in use by our designers. Meanwhile, we have clients waiting and designers unable to complete any work. The support is completely incompetent and incapable of making simple account changes. The structure for support and level of service is deplorable! I used to think highly of Adobe as a company but they've outgrown their ability to provide decent service to longtime paying customers.

I am utterly disappointed and infuriated by Adobe's blatant disregard for its customers' rights and its deceptive billing practices. Recently, I made the grave mistake of subscribing to one of Adobe's services, believing I was getting a fair deal. Little did I know that behind the glossy façade lies a company willing to stoop to the lowest depths to squeeze every last penny from its unsuspecting users.

After signing up for a monthly subscription, which already felt like a costly commitment, I was initially pleased to learn about a supposedly generous 7-day free trial period. However, this illusion of goodwill quickly shattered when I decided to exercise my right to cancel the subscription within the trial period. Despite following the cancellation procedure diligently and receiving confirmation of the cancellation, I was utterly shocked when Adobe attempted to bill my card for the subscription fee. Imagine my disbelief and frustration when I discovered that Adobe had the audacity to charge me for a service I had explicitly terminated.

But wait, it gets worse. As if their underhanded billing tactics weren't enough, Adobe had the gall to add insult to injury by trying to lure me into yet another trap. Apparently, they offered a "free extra trial" for another app, conveniently failing to mention the strings attached and the inevitable headache that would follow. Let me be crystal clear: Adobe's actions are nothing short of despicable. They prey on unsuspecting customers, lure them in with false promises of free trials, and then attempt to squeeze every last penny out of their pockets. This is not just a case of poor customer service; it's a betrayal of trust and a complete disregard for ethical business practices.

I urge anyone considering doing business with Adobe to think twice and look elsewhere for their software needs. Trust me; the headaches and heartaches caused by Adobe's deceitful tactics are not worth the trouble. In conclusion, Adobe, shame on you. Shame on you for your unethical behavior, your deceptive practices, and your utter lack of respect for your customers. You've lost my trust, my respect, and most importantly, my business.

I said no. I was so busy opening my business that they offered a three month pause. I agreed and quickly forgot about it. So 3 months later I was charged again. Again I contact customer service and again they give me a lower price or a pause. I most definitely declined everything. I told them I was calling my bank to stop the recurring charge. That is only when they agreed to cancel. I still called my bank to put a stop to this charge and to make sure I was safe because I still didn’t trust Adobe on cancellation. Basically, this company had been given access to my credit card information once because I purchased their service and when I made it clear that I did not wish to renew their service, they helped themselves to my credit card anyway. Because they do not invest in actual customer service, there is now way to verify with them that I do not want them extracting any more money from my account. This is not my first rodeo with Adobe products. However, what they have done is removed the user friendliness of their tools, and instead have allowed Third-Party SDK designers to charge for items that either used to be, or should be inherent to the program. Simple things like removing the toggle function between straight and curves, making rasterization vs smart object filtering add/remove artifacts without one's knowledge, or even the worst of them all.. making the file management system untenable.

They've done this on purpose because they've obviously given up on the care for their users, and rather than fixing the problem they've moved in the direction of infinite third-party upselling to capitalize on problems they never fixed. I feel scammed by these programs & I think we absolutely move away from this monopoly they're hoping to achieve. I had such a horrible experience. I signed up for Adobe free trial and they started charging me with no warning. Three months went by charging me 30$!!! With other companies like Skillshare I have forgotten about the free trial but I always get an update that it is ending, EVEN when I got charged $100+ I was able to get a refund because I did not EVER intend to pay for the service I simply forgot to cancel. Back to Adobe, in the three months I was unaware I was paying for adobe, I didn't use it A SINGLE TIME. At all nothing, literally they could check my account and there would be tumbleweeds. SO I tried disputing it hoping to just cancel my account, NO REFUND.

I just don't want to deal with this anymore. The 'best' they could do was offer a couple months no charge which is unacceptable. Genuinely disappointing, disheartening and frustrating especially because the cancelation fee is $90. Which again I don't use adobe in the first place, am I going to pay $90 for essentially nothing?! Honestly I am at my limit and I refuse to start using the product in the SLIM hope that they will just offer a refund. I am genuinely so angry and frustrated that my money is being THROWN away, it makes me viscerally upset. Frankly speaking adobe is a scam, don't even GO on the website because they will find ways to trap you and have you throw away hard earned money.

They cancelled my subscription! Someone at the company emailed me to confirm cancellation. So happy that we have these review sites because I don't think this issue would have been resolved so quickly otherwise!

    Original Review: April 18, 2023

I logged on to my account to make a simple cancellation. The chat agent I was speaking to - Aruna was extremely rude and did not want to help me cancel my subscription. She kept on giving me 'offers' that were still almost as expensive and the first couple times I politely said that I just wanted to cancel. After that I'm getting annoyed but I still stayed on the line, hoping she would get the message and maybe help me out. After about 25 mins on the chat, I gave up. I would not recommend anyone use this business if you foresee that you may need to chat with their customer service agents in the future. To them, 'helping' is just giving you random other things that you don't need and not helping with the actual problem.

If it was included then it was hidden because I never would have agreed to the free subscription if I was aware. Clicking on "learn more" provides an example of how that fee is calculated but doesn't in any way add up to the proposed charge. Adobe may be making money off this scheme, but also making a lot of people very angry along the way.

These people will hang up on you repeatedly, with no regards if you as to speak to a manager or if you ask them a question that they don't know the answer to, you will be hung up on. This company is losing and WILL continue to lose millions if not billions of dollars for their bad customer support team.

I have been on the phone over a week now. Have talked to at least 10 reps, TRYING TO GET ASSISTANCE on exporting a 10 hour video, exporting time takes 4-8 hours to download and every time it's finished and I open it , it never is right. It's 12:00 am I just got off phone with rep, the video is exporting again, download time is 7 hours plus, hopefully when I wake up and check my PC it exported correctly. They have some hidden language in the terms and conditions where they sneak in this charge to unsuspecting customers. Thankfully there is a way to around the charge, but they don't make it easy to do so. In fact, they don't provide any helpful steps on how to avoid it - instead they respond in a condescending manner by saying "you signed the terms and conditions....". I cancelled the free trial the same day and received their email confirmation of cancellation. Eight days later they charged my CC for the monthly subscription fee! I called them and the representative confirmed the cancellation but wanted me to provide the first six and last four numbers of my CC. I refused as they already have that info, hung up and initiated a CC charge dispute.

A short time later, my wife received an email apologizing for being disconnected and to call back to resolve the matter. I called back and gave them her name and email and somehow they also had the 7-Day Free Trial on her information, but that's now I signed up. They again confirmed cancellation and that I would receive a cancellation email as well as a refund. Nothing but crickets, these software companies offer free trials and when cancelled, they still charge and make it insanely difficult to contact them and difficult to get a refund. The Instant Messaging service reads, "Thank you for your patience, your request is important to us, and our next available representative will assist you." I'm a graphic designer and I have been using Adobe products since Photoshop 3. Yeah a while. While outlaying thousands of dollars to buy products to own was expensive for individuals and smaller design groups - the products "ACTUALLY WORKED". They were easy to use, efficient and rarely crashed. You could "UPDATE" as you needed and /or could afford. I bounce between Indd/ PSD/ Ill/Lightroom/ Acrobat constantly and add Dreamweaver and After Effects when I was web designing. Now that is IMPOSSIBLE. Every single design job is arduous. I cannot have psd and lightroom open at the same time - everything FREEZES and CRASHES.

I cannot have Indesign / Illustrator and photoshop open - everything FREEZES and CRASHES. Everything takes FOREVER to OPEN. Sometimes I have to open LIghtroom 3 times in a row before it will IMPORT my images - **? When it does eventually OPEN - it FREEZES. I now HATE ADOBE products. I would not recommend them to anyone. I pay more money than ever before - I get literally no customer support - and I am constantly having to update which drives me nuts and is a complete waste of time. They release NEW versions that are BUGGY - hence the constant updating - I'm not sure what the point of that is. I have lost a lot of work - that has been corrupted during a CRASH.

The most insane thing is - ADOBE DON'T CARE!!!! They have a MONOPOLY - so they have NO reason to improve or change. We all jumped ship on Quark - ha remember those days - when InDesign came out - and we rejoiced at a suite of programs that could work seamlessly with each other. Well guess what - QUARK is looking MIGHTY GOOD at this point. ADOBE SUCKS. The minute something better comes along - I will leave ADOBE - quick sharp. Oh and I can guarantee I will not be the only one.

I love that ADOBE used to think about designers and what they needed. They used to cater to professionals and amateurs alike. You have destroyed some of your BEST basic tools and added things that even an CGI moviemaker wouldn't use. ADOBE lift your game - Your BLOATED / BUGGY / SLOW / CRASH PRONE / CONSTANT SPINNING MYSTIC PIZZA...AHHH - is a NIGHTMARE. You have added HOURS and HOURS of work to my job - and I hate you for it. PS Your customer service is the WORST I have experienced ANYWHERE. PS - I don't usually complain - but I am about to scream this from the rooftops - SERIOUSLY OVER THIS ADOBE.

Okay, so I purchased and have been using Adobe Illustrator for good 6 months now, and I'm very angry I have to keep using it. My work requires me to use specifically Adobe Illustrator, I have no choice of choosing another software. Now, the software itself is decent, a bit confusing and overly engineered, but I have gotten used to the layout in time, and I like that it has loads of settings when saving in PDF. If software alone was all that was there, I would give it a solid 4 stars. However, everything else connected with the software, the pricing, the company policy and the general adobe package are god awful, and they make me want to rip all my hair out.

First of all, the Adobe "Malware". When you install Adobe Illustrator, apart from getting the program itself, Adobe installs about 12-15 other programs on your PC, mostly connected to license verifying. Because of this, Adobe is the only program that chugs my fairly powerful PC, armed with an Nvidia 2060 and an i7 processor. The Adobe updater is a particular offender, which literally halts my entire PC work just to tell me there is an update I may want to check out. It's infuriating that I cannot de-install any of the programs, as I can feel my PC's performance go down whenever they are on.

Second of all, the pricing. Adobe has only one type of pricing left, a subscription model. At this point I am convinced that subscriptions have been created by the devil himself to drive people crazy. I want to ask Adobe a question. Why oh why is my price way bigger than the US price? I don't live in a rich country, I'd say Poland is rather poor in comparison to the US. Why is Illustrator 20$ in the US, and 38$ in Poland? It's not a packaged product, there are no shipping fees, so why?

Another question I'd like to ask. If I miss my monthly payment (when I am not using the product) and Adobe very kindly disables my software, why can't I cancel? I mean, okay, if I were using their software without paying, that would be bad and they would have all right to force me to pay before cancelling. However, if they blocked my software anyway, and I can't use it, then why do I have to pay if I just want to cancel? It smells of desperation and unnecessary greed. If you intend to block my software anyway, then just cancel it for me, unless you are so unconfident in your software that you have to force people to pay.

And it is blatantly clear that they are desperate, you can see it when you cancel the software, you go from screen to screen, where they are sorry that you didn't like the software, beg you to reconsider, grovel at your feet so you just keep paying them, up to a point where they gave me a 100% discount for a month (yes, give me a 100% discount literally 2 minutes after you charged me a non-discounted price, that's lovely). Anyway, I'm sick of Adobe, I'm gonna keep using it, cause I have to, but I dread every day I have to go back to using it.

This whole subscription base programs cost smaller production companies like mine thousands of dollars each year in man hours fixing their **. The sad part is AVID is no better. If you are in the film industry doing Post Production and do not have the budget for a Tech beware, you will need to have a 2nd system that is not connected to the internet to work on projects until Adobe fixes the bugs in their recent update.

If you have any projects you are still working on DO NOT UPDATE... Finish that project do your normal backup protocol and after you deliver your project to your client then you can try to update your system and make sure you go into each older project and update your main project file. If you fall behind in your update the files will no longer be able to open in your Photoshop or Premiere programs. If I could give Adobe a Zero Star I would.

Finally got on a chat with a Manager who "couldn't locate my account" even after I gave the partial cc account number and email they asked for. They said go to my bank to cancel the charge. Who ever heard of this? I had never heard of it yet, when I looked into it, I had, somehow agreed to this...Such a shoddy little ploy to get money out of customers who have used their products faithfully throughout the years...I thought I needed their editing software for a job application (turns out I did not need it) so I never even downloaded it. I thought this would absolve me from the trial period (I had not finished sign up) but they had my credit card info.... I tried calling for help, but I never could actually speak to a human being, nor to cancel either. I listened to an endless loop of recordings. I tried to cancel online, but the website tried to extort a $60+ fee from me. Short of paying that, it wouldn't let me cancel. They managed to get $66.10 from my checking account. I had lost my debit card and I didn't think they could attach to my new debit card, but they did.

Now they keep sending me emails trying to collect the money I supposedly "owe" them. When I finally got to talk to a human being (I believe they had no human employees because of the Corona Virus for the last few months), I told them I wanted to cancel, and they kept trying to connect me to Tech Support to help me use a product I never really needed to begin with. Then they tried to "save" my subscription by offering another deal for a product I don't need. I came to the conclusion they don't let people cancel their fake subscriptions. If you expect to receive even substandard customer service, don't ever do business with this corrupt marketing company, because their customer service is the worst I've ever received.

Adobe's practices around subscriptions may be legal, but are most certainly unethical, and definitely fall into the bucket labelled "SCAM". Paying extortion to stop using their products can hardly be described as anything else. When I attempted to cancel my subscription I discovered that I either had to keep paying every month until my next subscription date, or pay a "cancellation charge" that amounted to effectively the same amount - and all of this for a product I never use. Worst of all I was not able to simply cancel the auto renew. Inevitably it has just auto renewed again and I have missed the small window of opportunity to actually cancel the annual subscription without penalty. This is a horrible business practice and something Adobe should be ashamed of.

After you first cancel they should have sent an email stating the contract was canceled. If this happens to you, keep a copy of the email because you will need it to file a dispute with your credit card company. The product is not worth the hassle.

After the first month of using this in class and signing up for the 'free trial,' my account was charged. When I and the other students all ran into this problem, we spoke to the Professor about this and he was baffled but said he would look into it. Most of the kids elected to drop the account after this and I tried as well but after adobe gets your first billing info, they will charge you a penalty for leaving the plan early. This was really frustrating to me.

The services are not really worth the money. I could have used a better product than lightroom and editing tools for free; I only used this because we were not allowed to use any other per our Professor (another huge point of frustration). Having used it, I just wouldn't recommend because you feel it's the best program out there for photography and editing tools in all honesty. Some features are nice enough but even common and fairly limited in comparison to even basic free programs like GNU. The cost is insane for this! But what's worse is how they try to get their hooks into you. I honestly don't even trust what they will do in having my billing information stored. Proceed with caution on this one and look around at other less costly programs. Their tools just aren't worth the price and it'll cost you even more just to try it.
