I had a 2g phone and TracFone replaced it w/ 3G. I haven't had any problems with reception although I haven't been more than 100 miles from the Vancouver, WA /Portland, OR area. Also adding more minutes online has been fairly easy, after I figure out which category. However, it bugs me that they push long term programs, when I just want minutes. Also, this is a general observation, not just Tracfone, it has all sorts of do-hickeys & programs I don't want. Email, games, camera... I have my iPad for those. I prefer a phone that is just a phone and ability to text... Period!

Tracfone is a great deal for people who need a cell phone for necessary communications and use a smartphone a few times a day. You can get service for a full year for less than $100. This gives you 1200 minutes of talk, 1200 text messages and 1.2 gb of data. This probably isn't enough if you use your phone constantly, but is more than enough for me. Tracfone uses Verizon's network (operators answer the phone as Verizon when you call about the phone service itself). You can also use your own unlocked phone.

I have been on the phone for 30 minutes because I could not get into my account on my cell phone - I could on my PC. After 30 minutes I said to call me if you ever figure it out. I have the same plan for 2 phones, I pay the same for both phones - 1 has 809 mb the other 0 mb. No one could explain why there is a difference. I have used TracFone for 4 years. About this year, they have really let me down.

Seems every time I enter a new card for data messages, I don't get everything I pay for. My online account balance is different from the one I access online thru the phone. Seems I lose 25mb with each refill. One would think the account balance would be the same no matter which way to access it! When I called to rectify this, they have no clue or blame a "technical" issue. I think not!

Two weeks ago I was told by two Reps that my replacement phone would be delivered. The first time they said order is in, and I never received it, with the Supervisor telling me it was NEVER placed by the Rep. The second time calling to see where my phone was, they had to replace order. Now I can't get through calling. I called three times, put on hold for over 30 min first time, second time they said it should be delivered any day, the third time TODAY I was put on hold, with them trying to find out what happen to my order, waiting on hold for over an hour. I have it documented and witnessed all that I have been going through trying to get my phone.

I am disabled and now unemployed with more health issues and doctors constantly calling me for updates and testing and scheduling and I need A PHONE. And This is a NYS Provided Phone for the Disabled? You cannot understand 2 out of 3 Reps with broken English, and they all say the same thing... "Hold on please", like 13 times within 30 min to one hour putting you on hold. The others promise and lie telling you it's in the mail and FedEx is delivering it, and it never comes, I was told 3 times this and no Results. I recorded everything, every time trying to get help, and have more than enough evidence of negligence and incompetence.

I have been using TracFone for many years with a flip style non-smart phone. I only used it for emergencies and purchased the yearly card because it was less expensive. Each time I purchased the card it included at least 800 minutes and I recently accumulated almost 3000 minutes. I decided to research smart phone. I spoke with a customer service agent who assured me that if there was any problem with the smart phone all the transferred minutes would be transferred back to my old phone. The new smart phone arrived and there was not enough signal strength to do much with it so I went through the troubleshooting routine with a tech.

He finally determined the phone was working and the signal should have been good enough. He said to "wait several days to see if the phone acclimates". Of course, that never happened so they agreed to send me a replacement phone. That phone also had little or no signal. I contacted customer service again and wanted my minutes (over 2,900) transferred back to my old phone. The first tech could not do it so I was transferred to a higher level tech, who also couldn't do it. He transferred me to a supervisor who said the reason the minutes could not be transferred was because there were no minutes to transfer! I read a review from another person who had the same problem so this seems to be common practice with TracFone.

Have had TracFone for several years as a secondary phone. Rarely use it, mainly keep it as an added phone in case my phone gets lost. I purchased the TracFone from HSN, the reason I purchased it is the minutes and the time tripled every time I put money into the account. Now all of a sudden I am told that that has never happened. That I must be imagining that my time tripled because they can triple the minutes but the time has never ever tripled. This is a total lie. For the last three or four years I have been tripling the time and the minutes with one card a $9.99 card. I spent probably two hours on the phone speaking with different people then they would hang up on me. I would call back give them all the information. I had again asked to speak to a supervisor was told that I was speaking with the supervisor. I said, "You have a supervisor, everyone dies". At this, I was hung up on again.

I called back several times and each time I would get hung up on and one time a supervisor put a loud beeping on the phone. I could not get it to stop even when I tried to shut the phone off, I had to turn the phone completely off and turn it back on to stop the beeping. This is one rip off after another. They have now got several of my dollars. I called in during the night and put $22.95, I asked them to refund that to my credit card so I could use the right card that they tell me would triple my minutes, so then I put a $9.99 card. It still did not triple my time at triple my minutes but it took away the minute that I already had. I'm going to let my time in minutes run out because it's not worth it to me to hassle. I will get with another company because it is after all just an additional phone, nothing that I desperately have to have. I am going to contact HSN in though because they have a contract with TracFone and TracFone is breaking it.

This company is corrupt. I have bought numerous phones and cards as well. Here is the scam. They force customers to use their website and call. This is so they do not have to hire call center employees, even off shore cheap labor. SO, they force you to register your phone via website and/or call but remember they charge you for the call 611. They run down your minutes, they make sure the recordings are slow and wordy because hey you're paying and they want you to buy more minutes, a complete scam. They hire inept staff, I mean rude, nasty, condescending and inept. Of course I may be wrong but, I think they do it on purpose. They kept telling me over and over they would activate my phone but they didn't. They lied. Why? I have no clue.

So, these liars and thieves took my money. Didn't activate my phone. Now I came to the conclusion they are beyond corrupt, they lie want you to get angry because they think when you do this justifies them stealing from you. They need to be sued a massive class action not for the money the lawyers get that but for the ability to keep them from stealing from anyone else. I stress do not do business with this company. I was receiving phone calls stating that it was him debt collectors all kinds of calls. Meanwhile TracFone was deducting minutes units from my phone because of this person. When I called TracFone from my TracFone, TracFone used my minutes so I could fix the problem. They had to change my phone number three times to fix this problem.

Meanwhile they had used up all my minutes and explain to them that that was not my problem. That they sold me a phone with the active number in someone else's name. TracFone refused to give me my minutes back. I waited a month. Called back explain to them the fact that of what happened. TracFone give me back 39 minutes but they did not give me the remaining minutes of all the time that I had used under this other different person's name. Bank Texas phone Texas calls under this guy's name each time I answer the phone or check the text, it would deduct minutes from my phone. TracFone did not compensate me for that. All in all TracFone did not compensate me for all these problems.

I have been with Tracfone for over 13 years. For 3 months of those years I was on their SafeLink program, while unemployed. After going back to work I was removed from the program and started buying cheap end flip phones from eBay and Amazon. I did do transfers between phones when I liked a better one than I had before. But I never did anything wrong to obtain extra minutes or time. Well. Tracfone apparently never removed me internally from SafeLink. They continued to add my serial numbers on my account. I had no idea what was happening on their end. Now it's 2017 and they have refused to accept my credit card, (even though it was never declined), and they force me to go and get an airtime card from the store, which makes no sense.

In my last transaction, after finding out they are discontinuing their Triple Minutes for Life program I had just purchased an older (what they call) "feature" phone. I did this because the last 2 android phone constantly received spam and robo calls on them nearly every day. When you change from a feature phone to an android they call this an UPGRADE. If you decide you liked your feature phone better Tracfone will call this a downgrade and remove many of your minutes that you have paid for. None of their CSRs know whether to give you TMFL benefits on "BYOPs" either as they were evidently not trained about this sudden change. All in all Tracfone ripped me off of 7,450 minutes from my last phone. I want to switch to Page Plus, but I hear they are now owned by Tracfone. I use my phone very little. I am 60 and just want a good low priced company like Tracfone USED TO BE.

My brother and I were going out of town and it was mandatory he had a phone. When we got half way there we stopped at a friend's house and realized he didn't have his phone. Looked everywhere... Decided it was lost. The next morning I got on Live Chat with a Rep. I was told his phone had 680 minutes on it... He could either deactivate the phone or get another phone and transfer to the new phone. I asked which would be easier. He said to get a new phone and transfer the number and minutes on it.

So we went out to find another phone. Tried to get on Live Chat but could not access. So called the 800 number. The whole process took over 90 minutes. And at the end the rep said that she successfully transferred 180 minutes to the new phone! WHAT??? He had 680 minutes on his phone a few hours ago. She said something ridiculous about the new phone not being an Android so they decrease the minutes. This is outrageous. TracFone has not heard the last from us!

After filing a complaint against Tracfone ** contacted me. ** is the Executive Resolution Specialist at TracFone Wireless, Inc. address: 9700 NW 112th Ave Miami, FL 33178. When I called and talked to ** on 6/7/2017, she asked me for my credit card information and she told me she could see on her computer where I was charged $22.59 for 125 minutes on 12/23/2016, and she could see the charge for $44.69 for 200 minutes that was good for 90 days alone without the one-year-plan that a Tracfone agent helped me start two days before Christmas. When ** was talking to me about a refund for the 200 minutes I didn't receive all of a sudden she told me her computer went down and she said she would get back to me to resolve this issue but she never did.

The next email I received from ** she stated that she made me several offers but the fact is she never made an offer to settle this dispute over the $44.69 90-day card for 200 minutes that I never received. When I called her back to explain to her how one of her customer service agents set me up with a one-year-plan that would charge my credit card $22.58 every three months while giving me 125 minutes every three months and I tried to explain how the agent told me the plan would start on 12/23/2016 and end 12/23/2017 and charge my credit card every three months which would be four payments of $19.99 + tax which would be $22.58 every three months for one year.

I paid the first payment of $22.59 on 12/23/2016 and on the same day I paid $44.69 for 200 minutes but when I didn't receive the 200 minutes I called and talked to Tracfone's customer service agent and he said he would fix the problem but after finding out that Tracfone didn't send me the 200 minutes it became a hassle because every time I called Tracfone customer service the agents were rude and at one point I couldn't open my account with Tracfone until I made a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

On the same day that I started my one-year-plan with Tracfone the agent talked me into buying extra minutes because my one-year-plan would only give me 125 minutes for three months and this way I would have 325 minutes until I received my second 125 minutes on 3/25/2017. The Tracfone agent talked me into buying 200 minutes for $44.69 but I never received these minutes and ** told me it was too late to give me a refund to the original payer source which was my credit card because autopay canceled my plan. When ** told me this I responded by explaining to her that the one-year-plan was separate from the one-time separate payment for 200 minutes because the 200 minutes was a separate order on a three-month card.

** told me she could send me a check for a refund of $44.69 for the 200 minutes I didn't receive but while talking to ** she told me that her computer stopped working and she would have to get back with me but I waited for over a week but she never called me back and left me hanging from 6/7/2017 until 6/17/2017 when I sent her an offer to resolve my case she didn't respond and I had to contact the Better Business Bureau again to find out that the case closed so I had to reopen the case by adding another complaint. ** tried to con me by telling me she would get back with me and she purposely left me hanging until the BBB case closed and ever since she has refused my calls so I can't talk to her.

I haven't been asking ** for a refund for any plan. I paid $44.69 on 12/23/2016, for 200 minutes for a 90-day card that I paid for on the same day as the plan that the customer service agent set me up with. ** stating that she tried to resolve this issue but it just ain't true. ** is a con artist and a liar she had no intention of resolving this issue and she stole $44.69 from a fifty-five-year-old man that is handicapped and lives in a nursing home and she did this because she is a thief and she has no shame! After making numerous attempts by phone and email to contact ** she refused my calls and she never tried to resolve this matter and I believe she never intended to make this right with me because she is a con artist who steals from handicapped people and the elderly.

After the runaround I have received with Tracfone's customer service agents along with ** who I believe never intended to help me resolve this issue, I have some words of advice for anyone who thinks they can trust Tracfone or any of the eight separate cell phone services that Tracfone offers the public. ** is the lady you will have to talk with if you have issues with their phone services, so save yourself the hassle don't buy into any of them. Do not use any of the eight separate cell phone services because these people will steal your money and leave you with out service. The following cell phone services are all connected with Tracfone: TracFone, NET10, Straight Talk, Simple Mobile, Telcel, Page Plus, SafeLink, and Total Wireless. Then I was told that if I was not in the area where the phone would be used they could not help me. I explained that I could not call from the area where the phone would be used because I could not get service there. So I hung up and tried again a day later from the area where I would be using the phone.

The rep on the other end was VERY hard to understand and each time I asked him to repeat what he had said he was becoming irritated. I finally asked him one last time that he repeat what he said and the rep hung up on me. After that the phone would not work anywhere and I was told my number was no longer in the TracFone system and the 200 minutes I bought just a week ago were all used up. Each time a request was made, I was assured that I would not receive anymore. Recently with my love one in a hospital and hospice care I kept getting their texts sometimes 3 or 4 of them in a row. This was a difficult time for me, while waiting for phone and texts from family TracFone and their automated advertising kept sending advertising texts to my phone. I have been interrupted at funerals, during emergencies, and in public places.

My last request was about one week ago, and here it is one week later and the texts are back again. The last complaint I made I decided to do on-line. The customer service in the Philippines is the WORST I have ever experienced. Difficult to understand, many people in a room talking on phones and no lasting actions. They assure you it is fixed BUT it is not. I am a senior citizen. You can take my word for it when my contract is up, I will be cancelling my TracFone. Enough is ENOUGH. When I tried to set it up again, Google was on there so I put in my email and password and it wouldn't let me go pass that point. Called customer service up again, online chat reset again, still couldn't get past the Google point. The rep said, “Well keep trying. It will get thru.” I tried working on this phone for 3 hours.

They say the phone is not a dud after I called the 3rd time. They suggested I go to a cell phone repair shop and see if I can get the Google account off the phone. Seriously, after I spent 100 to buy the phone and they are too incompetent to help me with the process. I have had TracFone for a long time but I am not a real happy camper. And also I add the auto refill so won't forget and they auto refill the phone way before the due date. I am looking to find another pay as you go phone service.

I received this phone in the mail from TracFone. I go through SafeLink due to being disabled. The phone they sent me is unusable for my area since they use LTE signal around here. Even TracFone admitted to me that it is useless for me. They told me I need a new phone that will connect. A week goes by and still have not received the replacement phone. It is not my fault they sent me the wrong device. I can't afford to buy a new phone when they knew where I live and the service requirements. I don't know what to do since the people from India don't care whether or not the American users can get signal or not. I am sure that if we all died they would be pleased.

Then she transferred me to Annabelle ID ** who asked too many questions and serial number. She also make me wait on the phone for a long time. In the end, she said, she will transfer me to another rep.

DOES TRACFONE TAKE BRIBES TO EMPLOY INCOMPETENT Filipinas? If you do not know your job, learn it before you get the job. It is not right to waste customers' valuable time. I had to waste my time for a simple instruction, and still did not get the answer. Either TracFone is very bad, or the hiring practices take bribes from Filipinas. The Consumer Affairs should take the license away from TracFone, because TracFone cannot offer the service it supposed to provide to public.

In the past I never had any problems however the past 2 times the promo code was not accepted. I used the same code that had just been sent to me by Tracfone but it did not work. When contacting Tracfone the rep just says "The code has already been used". So just to warn everyone out there, before you add your minutes and promo codes write down your current minutes and then add your airtime and see if you are actually getting all of the minutes you are supposed to get. Tracfone is not honoring any of those bonus minutes I was supposed to get and I have been a customer for over 15 years. The company's reps are not helpful and they just keep repeating the same answer. Don't be fooled by the promo codes.

I have been a customer with TracFone for a few years now with never an issue. But it's been at least 3 weeks of dealing with their customer service reps now that has really gotten me to the point of complete aggravation. They lost 1500 talk, text and data from my new phone, 2300 some odd minutes off my old phone. Can't transfer phone numbers competently because if I don't change minutes to the same phone I am changing the number to then I will have to purchase more minutes to be able to have them do that, and my September 2018 end date on the new phone has changed to 2017.

Asked for a supervisor and he could not make a decision on his own so then asked for his boss. She was supposedly a manager...and she supposedly fixed all of my issues... but guess what? Here I am still minute less and my account is still not right. So now I have filed a complaint with the FCC. They contact them and they are required to contact me with a solution. We shall see what kind of solution they offer. Mind you my daytime job is customer service over the phone and if my customers don't hang up with us satisfied then we are in trouble. How do you tell a customer they have to buy minutes to transfer a number and minutes separately?!! Ridiculous!!

I bought a TracFone in 2012. I used it for a year or so. Then I did not need a cell phone for a while so I did not use it. It had over three hundred unused minutes on it, but the service time ran out. As time passed, I needed to use the phone again. I bought minutes and days to load on my phone. I tried to add the time, but the phone would not accept it. I called TracFone and told them of my problem. They said because I did not keep my phone "active" they deactivated my phone. The customer service person could not speak clear English, and acted like he did not understand.

When I asked to speak to someone that could talk with better English, he said that he had perfect English, and named some school he went to (Like that would convince me he could speak English). He never had a better English speaking person come to the phone. He could not give me a reason why they would deactivate my phone, nor why they did not inform me of their action when they did it. After all, I paid for the phone in full, I would expect the phone to work, no matter when I use it. The phone promotion said I only had to buy the time I used. That is what I did. He refused to reactivate my phone, and said I must buy another phone. WHY??? I have a phone already! They obviously had many customers with the same complaint, as they just refused to provide the service I paid for, and was very rude. He acted like I should know they do not provide phone service to people that seldom use the phone. What a rip off!

Bought TracFone Nov 2012 from QVC. Part of the purchase for my LG TracFone, only touch screen, not a smart phone, was that I would get TRIPLE mins for life everytime I bought minutes. At first, I never really had a problem except they wouldn't triple the promo bonus mins when you bought mins under the promo, only the mins the # of mins purchased. Finally, I relented to this so long as the mins I purchased were tripled and they added the bonus minutes. BUT, last month, I was on the phone with TracFone for 5, hours, that's FIVE HOURS, telling them that when I bought the phone, I was to receive TRIPLE mins for LIFE! It's verified by the paper work and even on their own packaging! Long story short, they refused triple mins.

Then, I asked for a supervisor who said TracFone did away with the triple mins and they were sorry for the mistake of the rep who said I had only regular mins but that I did have double mins. I went BULLISTIC! I yelled that even double mins was not satisfactory! I BOUGHT a phone with TRIPLE MINS FOR LIFE! Told them it was on their packaging! Finally, they "gave" me the triple mins. I will not be able to go through this again! Told them what they did was consumer fraud!

I also told QVC that if they didn't do something about advertising and selling TracFone products that are to come with triple (or double mins now as TracFone claims) for LIFE as they advertise and as what is printed on the TracFone boxes, they are participants of consumer fraud. QVC could careless and the rep just said she'd relay the message. HA! Fat chance! I will sue QVC and TracFone as I am a lawyer. Maybe there is an attorney who will do a class action for the others!! If I go thru this again in Sept when my mins and service period is up, I will bring a lawsuit suing both!

Tried to activate it on the phone - recording said it was a go but the phone did not activate. Called to talk to someone in person. Of course they were busy but had a system to call you back (which was nice) until I got cut off the first time. Called again and got in the line. They called back.

Now fast forward 2 hours on the phone. They cannot seem to find a phone number for the phone. I do not know how many times you can hear "bear with me please" and the "system is slow today". So After 1 1/2 hours I finally ask to speak to the floor manager, because obviously the person I have on the phone does not understand how to fix it. Still waiting and to make things worse the person on the phone is no longer even trying to help since I asked for a supervisor, her only role now is to stay on the phone and tell me to "bear with me" the manager is helping someone else. Perhaps it is time to move the phone center to somewhere with more qualified staff. Still waiting - kids are getting hungry - hours of my life I won't be getting back.

I have been a Consumer of Walmart Family Mobile for many years and had been very satisfied with the service, and even recommended service "proudly" to others. Then recently, all that has changed to the total opposite because Walmart Family Mobile, is now, using TracFone as a service provider, and the experience has been horrible service since day 1. Everything listed in the other reviews of this topic are just as I have been experiencing with the service popping in and out with ability to make calls and or use online services.

I do not understand why, TracFone, without warning, became my service provider for my Walmart Family Mobile Cell Service. But I could not be more disappointed in this service and being that I have paid for one service, that was good, and now, have been switched to the poorest operation of service. I feel the bait & switch scheme, and hope there is a class action lawsuit, for this being done to the customers such as myself.

On the day before yesterday, while on a very important call, the service was cut off, and not operable the rest of the night, being that a factory reset was performed, all my information lost, and I could not even get a phone dial pad on the phone screen, to make a call, to find out what was going on!? Not until I received a prompt, to reset my "Google" account, was a phone dial pad, allowed on this phone screen, for a call to be accessed? And since then, every time I try to log on to the internet, I get a prompt stating, No Service, or Offline, 2 or more times, before finally connected. Also, I keep getting a prompt for me to "register", with a service. This is the worst, and I hope Walmart Family Mobile, which is not, connected to this Consumer Affairs site. I read, will still, somehow receive these factual complaints, and give us back, the great service we had "before", this TracFone deal.

I had an absolutely awful experience dealing with TracFone. I purchased an iPhone 5s from Target in February. Turns out in the fine print the phone was branded to TracFone and has to be used with the company for one year for it to be unlocked. I am okay with that. I understand that some companies lock phones for a certain period of time. The problem arose when I started having problems with service. One day, I could not access cellular data on my phone. I went to technical support and spent cumulatively well over seven hours on the phone with them. We troubleshooted the phone and they could not fix the problem. We even reset the phone to factory settings, but no luck. I'm sorry, but to me it defies the point of having a smartphone if I can't use cellular data!

TracFone, I am speaking directly to you. All I ask is that you unlock my phone so that I can use it with another carrier. I understand that you have your unlocking policy. However, that goes two ways. You were not able to give me the service that I paid for. At this point I am forced to switch to another company because I have to have cellular data for work purposes. Again, we could easily part ways without dispute if they could just unlock my phone. Unlocking the phone would not cost TracFone anything considering I have already paid for it. This is not at all an unreasonable request!

Phone bought at HSN came with minutes pre-loaded. OK we added minutes approx. 7/21/2017 they are saying my 80 year old sister used 360 minutes in 10 days. NO WAY it took almost 2 months to use first batch of minutes.

So I asked for recourse because this is a mistake. Transferred me to a "department" which got me a recording to write a letter - A sworn testimonial letter they gave me wording for it - and the back of phone info. just to get how these minutes got used - They have no record I am told of numbers called or received. Very condescending person at customer service did not allow that this could be a mistake on their part.

Meanwhile they messed up my account from start and had me on phone 2 times at over 40 minutes each time - One to get my phone activated took 3 days and 3 way call with ** to get it done... Two to get my online account fixed due to an error they made with my email account - they had attached MY email to another account and asked me in the end to get a new email address to use. Did that! They call the next day to say, "All is well. Use new email and you'll get in..." BUT I can't get in with NEW email but lo and behold just for fun I tried my old email... guess what. It worked now. The company had a habit of dropping minutes from the phones. Which they admitted to and replenished. Over the years it wasn't a huge problem because with thousands of surplus minutes you see you never use them anyway. The last time they cut my services, took all the minutes and forced me to buy alternate card to make up for their mistakes. When I called them they said "they would research the issue," and "call back in 24 hours." Before I called back 600 minutes was put on my phone.

It wasn't the few thousand minutes that I was missing, but again it was something. Then with in a couple of hours the phone wasn't working. By the time my call got through to the service center the 600 minutes was off the phone. Then I once again got the "what minutes?" response. Tired of having to explain it again to another rep I requested that they just read the notes. Their response was "what notes?" There was no record of me calling and asking. I can go in circles with the whole story but it was a waste of my time over about a week, talking to 5 or more people, and their supervisors, waiting on line for someone, getting hung up and dropped, left on hold and what ever else they can think of. I have had TracFone for about 7 years. In February, my phone stopped working, and I bought a new one on the TracFone website. It was much larger than my old one, an LG, 4G, but I got accustomed to it. Then 2 weeks ago, the glass somehow got cracked, so I went on TracFone's website hoping to buy the same phone. It wasn't available, so I selected a Samsung 3G, which was like the one I had in February that stopped working.

It arrived via Fed-Ex a few days later, and I went online to TracFone to Activate it. I Deactivated the old phone at the same time. I waited about 3 hours, and tried to use it, and got a voice mail that I had to use a credit card to make a call. I then make the mistake of calling TracFone. All reps were busy, but someone would call me back within 10 minutes. 30 minutes went by and no call, so I called again and got a live person whose English was very hard to understand. I finally asked for a supervisor, and she replied that she was a supervisor, so I said then let me speak to your supervisor. She refused, and then I got rather irate. She responded by just setting her phone down, and let me listen to all the background noise in her office.

I hung up, called again, and got a different person, who still didn't speak English. We went through the same thing, and I hung up and called again, and got yet another of the same. Apparently, the only voice you will hear at TracFone that speaks clear, unaccented English is the man on the voice mail who instructs you to chose 1, 2, 3, or 4 for help.

I asked this person I finally reached why my phone said I had no minutes. I had checked my balance on the other phone right before I deactivated it and there were over 1200 minutes on it, because I rarely use my TracFone, only when I am away from home. The woman put me on hold (again) and came back about 10 minutes later and told me she could only put 310 minutes on my new phone. I asked what happened to the other 900 minutes. I hadn't had any problem transferring my minutes and data with the phone I bought in February. Her answer was that she wasn't sure, but it MIGHT be that I had downgraded from a 4G to a 3G phone, and -- that I didn't understand.

I asked to speak to a supervisor, she told me she was one, and I said then let me speak to YOUR supervisor. She said her supervisor was busy if I wanted to hold. I said yes, and then proceeded to wait at least 30 minutes while this woman came on every 3 minutes to tell me that the supervisor was still busy with other customers.

Finally, I couldn't take anymore, as I had been at this for almost FIVE HOURS, and told her to just put the 310 minutes on my phone so I could use!!! She did, saying she was so sorry for any inconvenience, Blah, Blah, Blah. To top it all off, the final icing on the cake? I went back on the website to look at available phones, and the LG 4G phone for $80 that I had wanted in the first place was back on the website as being available for my zip code!!! Ugh! This is the most miserable company ever.

I went on their Facebook page customer comments and there are many others who have had horrible customer service AND some have had 3,000 or 4,000 minutes stolen from them when they bought a new TracFone! They say they transfer all your minutes, text and data to your new phone but that is a flat out lie! They require you to put $20 on your phone every 90 days, and if you're like me, and have a landline phone at home and rarely use your TracFone, you will build up minutes.

Well I learned my lesson. I WILL use up all my minutes, instead of saving them for an emergency, so that when my phone stops working or gets a cracked glass, TracFone will not be profiting from my unused minutes. And for low cost, TracFone is fine, IF you are willing to put up with non-English customer reps and horrible service when you need assistance from them. Oh, and I didn't get a receipt from my online order this time. Again they were "sorry for the inconvenience".

I was called back approximately 40 minutes later. When I was called back I could barely understand what the person on the other end of the phone was saying. I asked where the call center was and I was told in the Philippines.

The conversation was filled with "maam", "thank you", and "just a minute, just a minute, just a minute", "my system is slow", "my system is not working", "just a minute, can I have the number again", "I missed the first part of that, can I have the number again", etc. I was having trouble understanding her and she was having trouble understanding me. After about an hour of being on the phone, repeating the SIM numbers multiple times, repeating the IMEI number several times, answering a multitude of questions like address, zip code, credit card number to purchase minutes, repeating myself and repeating myself, turning the TracFone phone off then on, then off then on, being told that I needed to give it a few minutes, then turn it off then on, being told that I needed to text the word "Balance" to 611611, no reply. OH! It needs to be all caps. BALANCE, no reply.

I was again told to give it a few minutes and it would be working. I explained that I had two (2) phones to set-up, one for each of my granddaughters. Her reply was "I can only do one, you will need to Call Back". I said I have to go through all this again to set-up the second phone. She politely said "Yes, thank you" and hung up. Approximately 4:00 the first phone was still not working. I called back and had another 30-minute wait. I spoke with a representative who was unable to get the second phone to work, after the same questioning, etc. as before. Approximately 6:00 p.m. I decide to use the online chat rather than go through what I did before. I initially got a notice that they were having "high volume" of chats, so I was surprised when I received a response about 60 seconds typing. I explained what had taken place, that I needed both phones set-up, and gave both IMEI numbers. He graciously started working on the phone.

After another hour one of the cellphones was set-up and working. He starts setting up the other cellphone and says it is ready to go, and that I needed to add minutes, but he couldn't do that so Yes, you guessed it. Call Back. Approximately 7:15 p.m. Yes, almost 5 hours after I started. I call back and it is now a 19-29 minute wait. After the same routine I'm told the phone is set-up, I purchase minutes and turn it off then on. Nope! Turn it off then on. Nope! Can't get it to work. After much trial and error I ask to speak with a supervisor. The agent didn't want to give up and continued to say "I can help you". I said "Obviously not, please let me speak to a supervisor." The supervisor answers. I repeat the entire story and at approximately 8:30 I am still on the phone with the supervisor. He is asking all the same questions. SIM card numbers, cellphone serial number, my information, etc.

Finally the supervisor tells me that both cellphones have been assigned to the same SIM cards, that the initial agent gave me inaccurate plan data information (Smart phone plan instead of a TracFone). He has now de-activated the one phone that was working, that he will need to send me two new SIM cards that should arrive in 3 days. I will need to get a refund on the money I have paid for the service plans, and he can't do that, so he will transfer me to that department.

At approximately 10:30 p.m., I had been on the phone trying to get a refund for both phone plans for well over an hour.

I was disconnected 3 times, spoke to one person who transferred me to another, and then spoke to two different people and finally have (I hope) a reversal on my credit card, but guess what. Still no phone service. I was told "When you get the SIM cards call us to set them up." This is ridiculous!!! One of the agents said "When the cards come we can set them up. So don't worry." I told him this is more about my time at this point, and I don't have another 8 hours to try to get two TracFones set-up.

I been paying my cellphone bills on time since I acquired My Family Mobile/T-Mobile for almost 5 years. Had no problems with my cellphone services. In late May 17-17 I began getting a text message telling me my bill due on May 23, I thought my bill not due until 26th of each month although I paid my bill 2/3 weeks before due sometime twice a month. I got tired of getting the text so I decided to pay my cell on May 23. I dial T-mobile 611 to pay my bills with my debit card as always with T-Mobile. I thought I dial the wrong number and hung up. I call back the usually the recorded message stated "Welcome to my Family Mobile/T-Mobile". I listen to the message as always if I want to pay my monthly bill using my credit or debit card. Ok paid.

In June 1, 17, all of my unlimited services went from excellent to poorly. In June 2017 when I begin to pay my cellphone bill I dial 611 as always. Not know exactly what was going on until I heard a different record naming so many phone companies say. I had password for all features and all of I no longer have password for all features on my android. My phone begin running slower, when I turned on my phone. I can no longer access my screen, I now get lots of advertising and paid apps asking me to download. I refused. On the 7/3/17 TracFone refused to let me access my features unless I purchased it paid apps. I had a medical professional I need to contact and couldn't. I had to go outside to use someone else computer. I spent the entire day trying to access my phone to make calls.

I recently found out My Family Mobile/T-Mobile had sold company to TracFone without notifying it customers. I see lots of diversity people's complaints about how bad cell phones services have gotten. I try to find out why my phone service went from excellent to poorly and why My Family Mobile/T-Mobile transfer it customers/me to TracFone company without notify me. I don't TracFone it serves. I spent most of 7/10/17 trying to resolve the issue. I got nowhere. A representative from TracFone call me on Saturday 7/8/17 asking me to return the call on a non toll free number 305-715-6500 leaving no extension and I couldn't not reach her. I call again, TracFone operator ask me if the representative leave her extension. It the only way she know which representative called me. I stated no because TracFone rep didn't want me call her back.

I call again trying to talk to a rep, the operator kept transfer me a different managers. All I go was loud music in my ear and left on a long distance non toll-free phone number 305-715-6500 each time I try to communicate with TracFone rep managers. I call the TracFone operator answering phones upset, stated she getting lots call/complaints and that she the only person answering the phone. Around 12:15 I received a call from from a male thuggish unprofessional staffs person who started, "This call may be recorded." I then stated to make rude, disrespectful, Rep. I hope this phone calls is recorded because I was TracFone to hear my complaints/issues. I then stated all the above issues. The male rep became rude, asked me for my phone number; I stated to TracFone male representative, "You call me, you have my phone number. I am not giving my phone number to you again."

TracFone male representative became very hostile telling me I should never chosen TracFone company for my cell phone company. I couldn't believe these words came out of TracFone rep mouth. Asked the TracFone male, thuggish what planted he is on! The male rep became even rude and hostile. TracFone rep begin telling me if I had cable. The cable company can change my cable to any cable companies it wants to. I stated to TracFone rude, disrespectful rep "This problem is not about a cable company, it about My Family Mobile/T-Mobile sold it company and didn't notify it customers and this why I don't have cable." I pull the plug years ago because cable companies is a rip off like TracFone.

I also stated to TracFone disrespectful male, thuggish rep, "You don't know customers begin pulling and cutting the plug on their cable companies. They are bad just like your company TracFone!" TracFone male rep became very loud, rude and disrespectful. I stated to the rep he doesn't know how to talk to customers and he shouldn't be allowed to assist customers. I stated to the disrespectful, rude, thuggish TracFone rep I am hanging the phone up on him and I did. Thanks for your time and consideration.

I called TracFone and they told me that after 3 weeks, I was not eligible for a replacement phone. So I asked them point blank ,"So you are telling me TracFone does not stand behind what they sell", "No ma'am, you can go out and purchase another phone." Absolutely the worst customer service ever. I began trying to activate my "smart" phone at 7 am this morning. It was after 4 pm when I finally had it activated. The LIES -- outright LIES I was told on the QVC presentation about this phone are so numerous, I don't even know where to start. When I got my old TracFone -- which I've had for YEARS -- it was so easy. You activate by punching in your serial number, your SIM number and -- voila -- you're activated. Took SECONDS. I chose a plan that was $12.91 per month. They have never cheated me. Just get their auto-pay each month. I have never even called them. So I thought this would be the same. Same company. and a "SMART" phone. Phooey.

I went online like before. This time -- per everything they said on the Q and everything my written material says -- I followed instructions and began by putting in my SIM and Serial number. Then, they pulled the rug out from under me by instructing me to turn the new phone off and then on again and then make any phone call.

As instructed, I turned the phone off, then on. Then before I could do ANYTHING, it refused to let me onto the call screen till I set up an account with Samsung -- this took over an hour. Then I had to pull up my Google account before I could do anything else and authorize them to do everything imaginable and give them access to tons of private information. So I got that part done -- about an hour and a half. I tried to make the call. It refused to accept it and said I don't have a phone.

I went back to the screen on my computer to see what to do next, how to get help, and discovered tracfone had activated the phone and assigned a number -- AND took away the 1500 minutes, texts and 1.5 GB of data I had paid for. AND they did not transfer my old number -- I still have the $12.91 a month old phone -- and they did not transfer my accumulated minutes to the new phone.

I began calling their so-called Customer Service. It was now closing in on 1 pm. Called seven times and there was NO WAY to get a human being. Called QVC. They didn't know either. Said I could return it. But by now, I've put in a day's work. I wanted answers. They gave me a different Tracfone service number. I called that one. SAME robot voice. I finally started screaming into the receiver for about ten minutes. I called them every foul name I could think of.

By some act of high magick, the robot man finally said: "I can't understand that response. Hold while I get an agent." An actual human voice however, this human being had no clue how to speak or understand the English language. So this person said not only said I'm stuck with what I have -- but if she gives me the left over minutes on my old phone and cancels it, I will lose the 1500 minutes, 1500 texts and the 1.5 GB of data I've already paid for. Then she tells me to check my screen and look at my account. Oh joy. NO MINUTES AND NO PHONES LISTED.

Another happy trip through the lower regions of Hades -- this time ending around 4:15 when I gave up and just accepted my fate. I then went back to my smart phone after supper, and began setting up contacts, etc. It says plainly in the manual and online and on the phone itself that as long as I'm on WI-FI there is no data charged against my account. It's only when I'm out of range of my wi-fi. Well, that's a lie, too. I checked my Wi-Fi. The little symbol assured me I am ON wi-fi. Put in my password and everything. But the jerks debited my account so that instead of 1.5 gigs, I have 1.46 gigs. So it ate that much doing NOTHING that wasn't on my Wi-Fi. It also debited 7 texts from my account when I had texted NO ONE. Didnt even know how. This is my first smart phone. AND in addition to this piece of garbage Samsung, I still have the old phone, the old phone account with the monthly payment and no way to cancel it.

Okay, I thought I would order a phone since I had the money to finally upgrade my phone to a nicer 16gb with Marshmallow and Samsung phone from their website, since they never offered the phone to Walmart or Best Buy to buy it. My mistake. Because after all this trouble, which I am going to explain, is why I will never purchase another phone off their website ever again. Live and learn from it. Okay, now for the problem and still waiting on it. I ordered the phone 3 weeks ago, and it was free overnight shipping. Cool I thought, until I got it and opened up the package and turned it on to setup the smartphone and all of a sudden the display had vertical lines and flickered. I was like WTH is this? So I called up TracFone, and they told me to charge it for the first time for 8 hours and it would fix this.

What the hell? So I did that and it was exactly the same. I decided to call again and then they did an RMA. I had to wait 4 days to receive a box prepaid label to send the phone back for a replacement. Guess, what? They were out of stock of the phone. WTF? So I said okay then, I will wait. I called after a week and was told they never receive them yet. I told them that it was an emergency phone and if I have an emergency without the phone, then what is the point of having an emergency phone, without the phone? All they would say is they understand and it is pending. This is two weeks after ordering the first place. Okay, and after calling about 3 to 5 more times, they told me they would escalate it and it would be 3 to 5 days to hear anything.

I never heard a thing and they also said not including weekends and holidays. I did not include weekends and July 4th holiday. It was the 5th day yesterday when I called and they told me that the warehouse had them and I would be getting a tracking number in 24 hours via email. I waited and waited, and looked at email, to no response or email from them with a tracking number. I said screw it and tired of talking to broken lies from them, called again today to find out the person that told me I would be getting a tracking number lied. They have the phone still on back order. They told me they escalated the ticket. 3 to 5 days. How the hell is escalated still on back order? They have no clue what escalated is. So after 2 transfers today, I finally thought I got a smart employee at TracFone.

I was wrong. She told me that it was on back order, but she also said I would receive phone by next Tuesday. Okay, here is this one problem. She said if I get the tracking number tomorrow, it would be delivered on Tuesday. Tomorrow is Friday. They do two day shipping. I had the first box to send my phone back sent on Thursday and did not get it till Tuesday after, but they say they ship on Friday I would get it Tuesday. That is a day difference from the other time. How does two day shipping go one day faster now? Calling BS here. So as of today, it has been three weeks now waiting for a replacement, and each time I call, the staff over their keep giving me broken lies, and saying different things to me each time or transferring me because they do not want to deal with me at all. I wonder if I am really going to get a replacement at all.

People say in their reviews that their plans suck but it is the only thing I could without work and not using the phone a lot that is the right prices for a plan. TracFone only does well for me at this time. As for customer service or technical support, that is the worst on the planet. They are not worth spit picked up off the ground and put in the trash to clean up. I totally regret ever thinking to purchase that phone off their website at all. Another thing is I saw the Samsung Galaxy Sky restocked twice while waiting for my phone Samsung Galaxy J3 Luna Pro being on back order, and of yesterday is shown on their website for sale but no tracking number or indication that they will ever send the phone to me. They told me on the phone that even if it shows on their website does not mean they have it available. So that means people are buying phones and not receiving them because they are selling unstocked phones to people.

What kind of crappy company is this? They are all liars. They have no clue what the hell they are doing at all. Do not trust anything if you call them. I am going to try to patiently wait for the replacement but I think they want me to forget it and lose my money and have no phone. They are thieves. Not sure if I will ever get the phone. I am going to try to hold out but I do not think I will get it under a month’s time because it is getting close now. They are ** that do not care at all for customers. They have no clue what it means that customers come first. Sure there are companies besides TracFone like this but TracFone in my book is one of the worst or the worst to me. No more buying off their website, and buying from Walmart or Best Buy only from now on. Screw TracFone since they are trying to screw me over.

1st the good... For 4 years I spent very little money while being a SafeLink subscriber. With SafeLink they receive money from the government thru the Lifeline program. At first they sent me a crappy phone. It worked ok but it was very uncomfortable to use so I bought a :feature phone: that didn't clear out the minutes for about $75. All went well. When I activated the phone it gave me like 4000 minutes and didn't add any minutes every month. Now the bad... As I got close to the end of them I called and was told to call later. They dropped me months before without telling me. I had to re-enroll which I tried and finally succeeded after the 3rd time. Apparently they go by the enrollment number so I went thru 3 applications. In the meantime I had to buy minutes. BADDER.

Then I got the bright idea after 4 good connection years with SafeLink/Tracfone that I wanted a smartphone. The SafeLink site says bring your phone or buy a phone "Now you can upgrade your current SafeLink phone to a phone of your choice, even a smartphone! Choose below to bring your own phone or to buy one of our available models and we'll guide you through the quick and easy process." Yeah... Thinking SafeLink and Tracfone are the same network because they pretty much are... So I buy a refurbished unlocked Samsung S6 like my granddaughter so I can see how cute she is on Musicly. Call, ask to transfer my number and minutes telling them the brand etc. Buy the BYOP kit. One by one I tried the sim cards. One by one they failed. No network, no bars. My old phone had 2-4 bars.

I spent hours talking to them, chatting with them. They would send another sim and another ticket number, buying minutes and data, losing 1000 minutes about 8 sim cards later I send the phone back thinking it was broken. I put my old LG 306g feature phone on but they transferred no minutes. A week later 6/1/2017 I buy a Samsung Galaxy Luna from the Tracfone site. Figuring, it's a unlocked phone and a Tracfone. So I try with the Sim in the box, buy more minutes and then they send me another sim and that fails. Then a bright girl at Tracfone pipes up and says "Oh! you need a GSM phone!" (Then they have me return it thinking they MIGHT do a technology exchange despite the computer refusal.) I get THE SAME MODEL PHONE back from STRAIGHT TALK??? And I put the sim in and it starts to download a lot.

I get a email from Google saying I signed in from a Samsung Galaxy J1 (which is a GSM SafeLink phone) so I think they did something to it and can't figure out why again it doesn't work. So I am sending it back for a refund that will take 30 days. BUT EVEN the $200 or so it cost them. WHY the hell does a HUGE company like Tracfone/SafeLink/Straight Talk/Net 10/TelCell and more WHY are the so inefficient!!! On the back of the Samsung Galaxy Luna package which is a Tracfone it says it's not for SafeLink Customers! Why doesn't it say anything on the Tracfone online shop? And in the Tracfone chat it says that their chat options is on all their sites but it's not on the Safelink site!!! This all started the beginning of May, 6/1 I bought the Luna and will have to go back. Have gone back to my feature phone and I'm waiting for another sim from them. All in all 8 weeks and I still have no working phone. FUN.

This is the only place ever to use autopay for not only the first 3 months of payments, but the next 3 months also. But it has not, this company will talk you into plans that they do not fully provide all that was purchased, they will rip you off. Phone minutes have been depleting QUICKLY. TracFone minutes = 1 minute = 1 minute in SAME Zip Code. TracFone minutes = 1 minute = 2 to 3 minutes outside of Zip Code. So if you made a 10 minute call outside of YOUR zip code (not area code) 10 minutes = 30 minutes. TracFone will tell you it is stated in their terms and conditions. It does not indicate zip code. It states roaming coverage area. They do not define on their website roaming coverage area as outside your zip code. They will ONLY verbally tell you that. This is HOW TracFone will continue to deplete service minutes.

Let me start off by saying THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE AND BAD BUSINESS ALL THE WAY AROUND!! My 73 year old stepfather paid for an over a hundred dollar Galaxy S3 from TracFone sold as a TracFone. It is written three times all over phone even when starting it up! So I have spent 6 hours on and off with customer service being told, “Oh yes. It will work. Give it an hour.” So I did that 3 times then called back again after calling from local Walmart so they could instruct on proper items to buy. Gave them pin number for time card. Again wait an hour. So did that then called back. Got a guy from customer service that sang the whole time and talked in another language and laughed to his friends. I had to remind him that I was still on phone after 10 minutes. Then he said in a rude tone, “Your phone will work” and then hung up in my face.

So I waited 2 hours this time, phone still not working so I called back and was told, “Oh that is a Sprint phone. We don't cover that phone.” Wait. Didn't this phone have TracFone written all over it sold from their company as a TracFone?! I ask for a supervisor. Transferred to 2 different ones because the first one didn't want to deal with it. Now on phone with second one. Again push problem off on somebody else. Won't pay for phone purchase and I again have to use my time to take air time back to Walmart for refund. Mind you Walmart is 30 minutes from home. Horrible horrible business.

I didn't get anywhere with the rep, so I asked to speak w/ a supervisor. He said they don't work on Sunday and to call back Mon-Fri. We decided not to deal w/ this company and when his service term was completed, we would get another service.

My husband rarely uses a phone. About a month goes by and he has 26 days left on his plan w/ 4.55 minutes left. He unknowingly answered a call from a telemarketer. As soon as he realized it, he hung up. Exactly .8 seconds was used, yet it took 2 minutes off. Although we had decided to get rid of Tracfone, for the principle of the matter, I felt compelled to call again. I yet again told them the entire story. How he initially had 120 minutes, yada, yada, yadda. They said there was nothing they were willing to do about it. Except give us 1 free minute!! This is clearly consumer fraud. Not only am I writing this, but I plan to make a complaint.

Use another company and look at the phone card prices before choosing a phone, so you know what you're going to spend every month. I was so ticked off, that after I bought another phone, after only having the TracFone for only a week, I broke it in two. Sure, I could have given it away, but I wouldn't give that phone to my worse enemy! Why put someone else through the hell I went through with their overpriced cards and TERRIBLE customer service!! My father is 90 years old and very careful about monitoring his use of his cell phone. The last time we checked his available minutes he had 244 minutes and today he has 0. We know for a fact my 90 year old father has not been chatting the phone for over 4 hours. I spent over 2 1/2 hours on the phone with their inept, lying service reps and was continually lied to and given the royal run-around. I was told I'd be transferred to a person on two different occasions and got a recording; a third time I was disconnected instead of being transferred.

After the 7th phone call I was told by a so-called manager they were adding 500 minutes to his contract and sat on hold for 15 minutes for this to supposedly happen. Well guess what---the minutes never materialized and when I called back they could find no records that this conversation or transaction ever occurred. I only wish I could give them a -99 rating instead of a 1! If you value your time, money and sanity; DO NOT buy a contract with TracFone!!!

I was surprised to read so many negative reviews about TracFone. I have been a subscriber for over 13 years, and have honestly not experienced any of the issues reported by consumers. I've fallen into a pool, ruining a phone, and they helped me transfer my phone number and existing service over to a new phone with no problems. My spouse had awful T-Mobile service and transferred his phone number to a new TracFone and has been equally satisfied. I know things don't always go as one hopes, and understand the frustration that must be occurring, but I can only provide positive information. I think it is a great value ($100 a year is cheap!) and they give me triple minutes for my particular phone every year when I renew. This is standard, not because I am a return or long-time customer. I know this will sound like I am an employee of TracFone, but I am just a retired guy who is happy with his TracFone service.

I initially bought it as I would be traveling M-F with 2 children under my care over 15 miles into the countryside. I chose Tracfone not only because of the price, but the ease of not having a contract. Adding minutes every month is easy and the service lasts for 90 days, adding up to longer periods of service time whenever you add minutes and are using your phone. A great way to keep in touch with family and friends.

I purchased two Rebel smartphones from Trac in late December of last year. One smartphone was to be for me and the other for my father. We have used TracFone for years problems with only occasional problems dealing with technical support. I transferred an active TracFone number to the new Rebel smartphone. It took five calls to technical support for them to finally get the Rebel activated correctly. Once the snow melted I took the phone with me to our house in the mountains where I always have been able to use my other Tracfone. The Rebel showed a signal strength of between one and three bars depending on how the wind was blowing. This is a mountainous area so trees swaying with the wind always affects connectivity.

I would call Trac and get technical support and they would fumble around supposedly changing something and then when I got home I had to do the power off and back on to get the new updates. This has been going on for months with no change. The people in the technical department could clearly see that the phone that would not work was a smartphone. While reading the terms and conditions of Tracfone use tonight I found Item 10 Roaming.

THE IMPORTANT PART is that last sentence as Trac does not advertise anywhere else that if you purchase a smartphone or transfer a smartphone through the Bring Your Own Phone program that phone is useless outside a select calling area because it is not allowed to roam by Trac. If you are considering Trac DO NOT purchase a smartphone because it will not work when you need it the most when you are outside your authorized zone calling for emergency services.

This is a warning against the unscrupulous practices of TracFone Wireless Inc. In November 2014, my husband and I purchased two cell phones and connectivity through the Walmart Family Mobile Plan. Recently, Walmart apparently contracted their phone services connectivity to Tracfone Wireless without notice. We only received a text demanding to pay by May 25, 2017, 3 days earlier than our plan called for, and we are being converted to pre-pay.

Upon going to the Walmart store, trying to pay on the 25th, Walmart personnel could not take our payment. We were then advised of a Tracfone Wireless take-over. We are now on a fixed retirement income and after also learning of proposed rate increases, we chose to discontinue and change our connectivity through another carrier, advertised thru AARP at about 1/3 the cost.

In response, Tracfone Wireless disabled our phones sometime before the 25th, claiming they “own” the phone numbers. Internet was mysteriously “offline” 7-10 days prior to that. In essence, they totally disabled our cell phones and are not capable to be used by any other provider, even though we own our phones, We were told if we choose any other service plan our Walmart purchased phones will be useless. Then after many hours wasted communicating with Walmart and Tracfone representatives, resulting in lies given by them, telling us the phones would later be unlocked on June 1st, has been a total fraud.

They have not unlocked the phone and we were forced to purchase two new phones being a strain on our budget and starting over with new phone numbers. This “slamming” has been a major inconvenience, not to mention, per more research, ILLEGAL. They are cyber thieves, and “Slammers”. If anyone else has encountered this horrible experience, or can be of service in this situation we would appreciate hearing your reviews.

Okay. TracFone is a complete rip-off. Getting an unlimited service plan for probably a whole family would be cheaper with *any other* carrier. $20 for a couple hundred texts and a few hundred and a gig of data... really? As far as I know, it's not even possible to get an unlimited plan with these hooknosed ** who don't even speak English. Not only that, but even after a purchase of "airtime" one must wait extended periods of time for it to come through. I got this phone as a Christmas gift, and for that I am grateful, yes. I would never have purchased a phone through them.

They call it TracFone because they want to track you. Duh. The prices are absolutely ridiculously high. Their slogan is a complete lie. "Do everything for less." Then why is it so much more expensive than any other carrier? Luckily, I've not had the pleasure of having to speak with their great customer service... not yet, at least. (darn!) Don't ever get a phone with them... ever. You'll find yourself spending 3x more money than any other carrier for unsatisfactory everything. I *should* be able to get the "air" time (what a horrible name for minutes, texting, etc) right after purchasing it. Nope, it takes forever. These Shylock, Red Sea pedestrians have outlived their usefulness. Perhaps they worked well and had good prices for the 90's, but every single carrier, even the brand new carriers, have prices 10x better with service 10x better.

I opened an online Chat and explain to the representative the situation and ask for a refund on $50.00 on the original purchase. I was told that in order to get the discount I would have to return the original purchase, wait up to 30 days for the refund of the canceled purchase, and re-ordered the very same item for the new price. NO ONE seems to know who can authorize such a refund.

On 30 May, I called the number listed below and after 30 minutes of the representative searching they told me that they were Straight Talk and I would have to be transfer to TracFone... the numbers are the same!!!! After explaining yet again the situation I was then transferred to another department about refunds. I have no less than 10 times explained either online chat or on the phone the situation and have yet to find anyone who can provide any remedy aside from sending back the phone and reordering.

Hence the phone call to customer service, speaking to multiple agents, waiting and waiting and waiting on the phone. But they agreed that I did indeed need the micro card. They assured me that they would send it at no charge. The card finally arrived 7 days later...and it was another nano SIM card. Back to the phone and more time dealing with multiple customer service agents.

Once again, they agreed that I needed the micro card and said it would arrive in 2 days. It's been 2 days and still no card. They also said I could track it by my Ticket #. Unfortunately, there is no place on the website to track it by the Ticket #, and I am sure not going to call them again! I have had it with TracFone's Customer Service department.

I've had TracFone for the past many, many years when I gave up huge monthly expenses to Talk. I had a 49.00 phone and dropped it in the snow, I've been using a 5.00 phone that beats all smart phones with reception every where I go. Smart phones suck for reception. My 5.00 TracFone works everywhere I go no matter where I go. I currently have 182.67 minutes and 1169 service days left. My phone do nothing more than "Hello". Does not take pics, and I do not text. I will never own a smartphone. All I need is a phone I can make calls from wherever I am and this one does just that and at 5.00 works better than those 600.00 things. My co-workers have to use my phone when they have no bars and I have 5.

I will always use my TracFone. This is not an endorsement, this is just plain truth. Tracfone just works. My wife has one and we dropped our landline many years ago for another TracFone just for the house which we never answer. This is the only phone that actually has voicemail. Our personal phones do not. If we don't know who is calling, we do not answer. We google the #.

Purchased 90 airtime minutes (I usually text). Minutes gone within 24 hrs. Contacted customer support, wait for at least 16 mins., option for callback in 30 mins. Sometimes they call back, sometimes not. Finally got through to CS, put on hold for 63 mins. while the tech was "retrieving lost minutes to be put back on my phone." Disconnected, no return call. Eventually got through again, waited 16 mins. was told by a Supervisor they can do nothing. Have too many "dropped calls" to count. What if one of these calls was for 911? All CS minutes come off our total airtime. I think the techs are schooled to delay us getting through and not have enough knowledge to handle the issue. Then we all have to buy more airtime. I text a lot like most people, but there are times when a phone call with family or friend is simply nicer.

Anyone wonder why we can buy 1000 texts for only $5 and never have a tech issue? But 30 mins. of airtime cost $10? And the wait time is just always about 16 to 30 mins. when calling for support? And when is the last time any of us were able to get on their live chat? I tried for a week, and the site was never active. So then we have to call and use our minutes. Why should we have to use our purchased airtime when dealing with a tech issue which is entirely their problem? They have terrible support, iffy service areas, and they are shelling out $40,000,000 to satisfy complaints about unlimited data false advertising according to the FTC. That could be just the beginning of more settlements.

I have called TracFone 3 times complaining my account minutes have been slowly dropping when I have not been making any calls. I told them my call duration history on my phone shows no outgoing calls. I told TracFone I have been with them for 14 years and never used up my minutes because I make very few calls since I do have a landline at home with unlimited calls. Only make cell phone calls when needed. I told them I check my minutes first thing in the morning. No calls made that day and my minutes will drop. My data and text accounts are ok.

I have got no answer from TracFone except whatever the minute account says then that is what it is and I must be making calls. They won't even look into it. Could be their equipment. They say no it is me and I am trying to get free minutes. After my minutes are up I will switch to another carrier and tell everyone to stay away fro TracFone because they do not care about their customers. They're crooks.

I have been to four different Walmart's (TracFone agents) and none have been able to help me.

I then tried their online customer service to no avail. I then called, got a representative, after a 45 minute wait on hold and was told they would do something in their center and to restart the phone in 8 hours and it would work. NOT! I called back and after having them call me back in 40 minutes. The rep said, "Hold on..." and in 15 minutes I found I had been hung up on. I literally hate this company, their claim of providing customer service is a out and out lie. Do not use them or any of their affiliates. OK... So I decided to save some money and go with Tracfone in January of 2017. Guess I should have looked at some Reviews first... Back in January I bought a TracFone FLIP PHONE at Target. Remember the little flip phones so cute. Anyways, I bought the Minutes 200 etc. Plenty right??? WRONG. Within 2 weeks almost gone. So I called them up and they said, "OOOHHH you need a phone wi-fi so it won't run up your minutes." The rep on the phone even sent me a Refurbished one for FREE! COOL Right???

NOOO. Within 2 weeks the piece of junk wasn't working right so I called them up and said I'll pay for this phone $29.99 for a NEW one. Got it within 2 weeks. Problems with it, so I called got another phone and sent the one back for the refund. They said sent me the box. I sent back the phone. Still haven't gotten a refund. Called, they said takes 30 days to process it. Ok so March 23rd I'm on the phone and I get disconnected. Tried to call TracFone, couldn't. Said, "You don't have enough money on your phone. Please add some." I had 196 that morning and was ONLY using minutes under my wi-fi. So I called on my hubby's phone when he got home. YES. NO phone until he got home at night. Spoke to a supervisor and she said yes there was a system error and she put the 196 minutes back on my phone. GREAT RIGHT. Nooo...

Today April 14th, I'm on the phone again, hangs up on me. Tried to call my friend back - "Don't have enough money on your phone. Please buy some." So I waited till my husband got home and spoke to a lady (Stupidvisor) that did not know what she was doing. She said she sent my request to the people and will see in 24 hours. Would NOT put the minutes back on my phone. She said I must have used them. I told her no I only use my phone around my wi-fi. I told her about the system error and she said there wasn't one. That I would have to wait the 24hours. I said, "So I am suppose to go without a phone till then?" She said there was nothing else could do.

I said, "The other supervisor added them within a few minutes. You guys need to give me 30 minutes on my phone till you fix this." She wouldn't so I had to buy minutes. Bottom line, TracFone stole my minutes. And as soon as I get my refund, I am cancelling my service with them. I would rather NOT have a phone than to put with the crap I have put up with since January. BAD, BAD Company!

After several calls to tech support, a new SIM card was ordered. 5 days later the card arrived, but the phone still would not work. Tech support told me to go to an Apple store to have it fixed. I told him I lived over 2 hours from the closest store and I wanted to exchange the phone for another one. He said that was not the policy and I needed to go to an Apple store. He refused to transfer me to a supervisor. Long story short, after 52 ugly minutes on the phone, I was finally told I could return the phone for a possible refund in 3-4 weeks. There may be a good explanation for why they couldn't just exchange the broken phone for another, but the representative did not offer one. He just didn't care. Approx five days later my account got deactivated. Apparently I debated those charges and received a refund (of course not and three hours on the phone). They told me to contact my bank. I did... they called TracFone and confirmed that I did not receive that refund (another two hrs on the phone). Repeatedly kept telling me in order to reactivate my phone I would have to pay $112.98. In the meantime I found out that probably I fell victim to fraud for the purchase on Ebay, but that was only for $79.99! What about the minutes I bought from their website for $32.99? No warning, nothing. When I called their customer service, the agent didn't know what he was doing. Par for the course with most customer service, especially cellular and cable. I asked to be transferred to a supervisor, which resulted in a lie, "I don't have a supervisor". Well, isn't that special. Even 4-star generals have supervisors.

I asked why my phone was turned off. Having a conversation isn't rocket science, but apparently to TracFone, it is. They transferred me to a different department, and I repeated what I needed to know. The lady launched into a yelling diatribe, in broken English no less. I couldn't understand 8 out of 10 words she was yelling. When she was done, I said "WHAT"??? To which, she hung up. This was about 35 minutes total to get to that point, so I wasn't calling back. I still have no idea why my phone is off. Apparently, me and TracFone have a different definition of what PREPAID means. So, I was lied to and hung up on in one call, with no resolution. My phone is done, and when the minutes run out on the other 5 phones in the family, they will be with my new service as well. That doesn't matter to them, let me be absolutely clear. I've been using TracFone since 2014, I've had several phones from them and so has my family without issues. I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S5 from them, it worked fine for around 30 days, before the wifi stopped working. I contacted customer service and they decided to replace the phone. You have to wait until you get an airbill pouch which you send in your old phone in before they send a replacement, this means you have to go usually two-three days (not including weekends) without a phone before a replacement comes. When my replacement phone came, it didn't have working wifi and it constantly restarted and was unusable, in worse condition than the phone I sent in to be replaced.

After talking to customer service again they said they'd replace the phone again, went two days without a phone until the airbill arrived, then around three/four days for the replacement to come. The replacement phone came and worked fine until I tried to get my service transferred back to it. (I transferred my service to an older phone so I had something to use in the meantime.) However, their customer support isn't trained properly and so you take a gamble with getting a support technician that knows what they are doing and one that doesn't. I've had several encounters with customer service for changing/transferring services and on several occasions they have messed my phone up to where all my purchased airtime wasn't there, the service time wasn't there and the service expired and now on my newest phone the SIM card was faulty that they sent. And now I'm going to go five days without a phone while they send a replacement.

I'm done with TracFone and giving them my business because they cannot sell quality products nor can they provide quality assistance when needed, they do not care about the customers and do not have the skills to assist in most problems that occur. After this SIM card replacement, if anything else goes wrong with my phone or service I am just going to go to a different service instead of TracFone. I am very dissatisfied with this untrustworthy company and it's a pretty expensive lesson to learn for a 300 dollar cellphone and the money I've wasted on service/airtime I can't even use due to technical failures on their end, not to mention no compensation is offered. Also, you cannot get a refund after 30 days of purchase so if something happens after that, you have to play the RMA/Exchange game until they send you a phone that does work and then you have to fight to get your service back.

If you are considering using TracFone, I'd advise against it. It may be cheaper but you get what you pay for and it's not worth it in my opinion due to the poor quality products/support offered. Also, if you exchange your phone, you don't get a new one, you get a refurbished phone. I am one very disgruntled and unhappy customer and will not give my business to TracFone in the future.

I found that I don't use it too much, but I do text and make some phone calls, therefore it lasts me about 2-3 months! I usually buy the 450-minute one and get 450 bonus minutes. So I then have to call TracFone and hassle with a representative that are never fully and clearly fluent speaking and every time the rep gives me the same run around excuse that the number has been deactivated due to expired service days. Then I get transferred to 2 or 3 different reps because the one before couldn't diagnose and/or fix the problem.

By the time I reach the third rep I have spent well over an hour out of my day and they haven't even resolved the problem yet. I called just this morning with the SAME problem I have each month and explain again my airtime card won't add to my phone. After putting me on hold 4 separate times the rep comes back on and tells me I need to provide a credit or debit card so I can purchase ANOTHER airtime card! I ask why should I need to purchase another card when I already purchased one and am trying to add it! She hummed and hawed over it and never did give me a straight answer as to why my airtime card wasn't working then she ended up hanging up on me! Great customer service right there! Very aggravating, then they tried to tell me that the notifications sounds for no reason was normal and to keep my phone on vibrate. So much for emergency calls, if I should miss them. That's not normal, sorry!

I bought a TracFone card for $19.99. I thought I activated it successfully - well I did, but it went to a different phone number! The numbers were very similar and I made a mistake. I called quickly but it was too late. Someone else got my 60 minutes. I can't afford to be so generous. It's not fair that they would not honor my minutes, or at least cancel out the other person's 'bonus'. I don't understand how they can treat a customer that way. I will never recommend them to my friends and they lost a long-term customer. They don't care evidently! Sad commentary on our times. Thanks.

10 year happy customer. I like TracFone very much. I am lucky to have an AFFORDABLE OPTION like Tracfone. There is no other affordable option for me. I typically text and have it on me for emergencies. The triple minutes they now offer are fantastic and they last the three months for me. So for about $7 a month, thank goodness, I have exactly what I need in a cellphone. Customer service has always been very patient and kind as well, they do not hang up until you are comfortable and happy.

We have a 4 phone value plan. The service/reception is thru Verizon and I have no complaints with that, it works fine. The problem is TracFone takes your money every month but you don't always get the mins added. The app and online account do not have a log so you can't see day to day how much time you have had only what they say you have on that particular day. TracFone reps are hit and miss. The engineers need to seriously change the app to keep a running log file of mins, text and data so that they don't end up in a class action lawsuit. The data has to be available so they need to apply it to the app and make it visible. I suspect the problem is very lucrative to the company.

I had Tracfones from when Tracfone was made in 1990s. I had a b/w screen first I had and barely fit in my pocket. I had to call a number to add the time I think. The phones are cheap and work for me. I love that the phones come with 20 minutes on a new activation. I called their number and couldn't understand what they are saying, mostly. I like to add a card from the prepaid menu and takes few seconds and a minutes I think. The 'live chat' is also nice. English and very helpful. I use it to transfer numbers and other help like getting a new SIM card. I read how awful people think Tracfone is, but give them one more chance, please they are getting better.

I will say that do NOT order a refurbished phone from them, not work. I called up Chat and they said water damage. The mouth piece was not working and I could send it back for a replacement phone free. Used. I got a new phone at a store and I am happy with it. Please stay with Tracfone if you chat or mess with ringers. The only problem with my phone is hitting the browser and going online or about to. (Press back real fast.) Nothing will happen and no missing units. I love that $20 air time card and 90 service days. All I need and NO hidden fees or monthly bills.

Either number does not exist or check number. Do they think I am stupid? I wasted all my minutes either dropped calls or retries. I had 74 min left. Called a friend 200 yards away. Cut off, cut off. I now have 10 mins left. Where did all that time go?. Will I use TracFone again? Not a hope in hell.

She said I would have to talk with a customer service rep. Called and CS said my card was no good. I used two more cards and they were rejected too. I got the same message no matter what I tried. The credit dept rep with Tracfone asked me to get my CC company to call them to fix things and even gave me a reference # and special phone number to call. Tracfone insists no charges were made because the card was declined but I have 16 charges to 3 different credit cards.

Capital One says they are all authorized for payment. Tracfone insists the credit card companies do not know what they are talking about. When the credit company called the special number they kept passing us around from person to person. She finally gave up and said they will have to dispute the charges. My account credit card like others listed here also displayed an incorrect phone number. I talked with several representatives at Tracfone. Each gave a different answer. One said she could reverse the charges if the CC Co called the special number. Nobody did anything. The last agent said my account must be locked out and I cannot use any payment method for 24-48 hours. Now I have all these charges to fight for a service Tracfone says never happened.

Hi, I just wanted to know what phone calls I'm having minutes deducted for, like a regular phone bill would show you. That's what you might think the TracFone app does. Nope. It shows you the minutes from another day, and when you try to refresh, it doesn't show up-to-the-minute information. So I called them, after they emailed me, and the call was dropped. Then they called me back, and they wasted 10 minutes of my time to patronize me and act like I don't know how to use my phone, then they said there was a setting I could change, but I have to call from another phone to get the information. I told the lady that I rated that call 0 for helpfulness and I didn't want to talk to her any more, so I hung up. Immediately after that, she blew up my phone with a series of 65 texts all saying that she had resolved my issue now, so I had to click on them and used up my texts, probably. Rage much?

I've been a TracFone customer for 3 years mostly because, being 21 and living on minimum wage, it is the only thing I can afford. Recently got my tax returns and wanted to spoil myself and get the renowned Samsung Galaxy S7, available for $629.99 on tracfone.com. I ordered it with 3-day shipping. It was shipped through FedEx, and since it was a pricey item It required a signature upon delivery. I work 9am-5:30pm Mon-Fri. FedEx made 3 attempts to deliver it which I was never home for unfortunately, but after the 3rd attempt I got a call from FedEx letting me know they'd hold the package for 1 week. The 3rd attempt was made on a Friday and I went out to the pickup location the next day, Saturday.

Upon arriving they told me Tracfone requested the item be returned, even though they already took my $650+. I contacted CS wondering what the hell was going on and when I'd get my money back. First of all, their phone service is terrible because 9/10 times it'll be someone who barely speaks English. Had to repeat my email to a woman 6 times before I hung up. Then spoke to online chat people who then told me it may take up to 30 business days to refund my money. Really? I told the guy I consider that theft, if they will not resend the phone or return my money within 4 days as is usual with online purchases. I asked how I could contact anyone with more authority but was given the ** CS number that only gives you foreign people.

Finally when my money was refunded about a week later, I attempted the transaction again, this time setting the shipping address to my parents' house so one of them could sign for it. Upon submitting the order, an error appeared saying my card was declined probably due to my bank, funds, or incorrect information. I called my bank, they said they did not block anything and that it was Tracfone rejecting my card. What the actual ** is going on here.

So I try calling Tracfone CS one more time and was on the phone for over an hour having the foreign guy enter all the same information I did in the same online form I filled out myself. He got the same error, told me to call my bank. I told him I already did, then we went through at least 3 more tries to make sure my information was correct. Each time he got the same error, I then asked to speak to someone with more authority who could maybe unblock my card. I was then transferred to someone with an even heavier accent and gave up. I have decided to just get the phone unlocked from Best Buy or elsewhere and put my sim card in it, hopefully that will work, who knows, but I am sick and tired of this ** service and if the sim card thing doesn't work out they will lose my service for good.

Problem is, they were wrong and I was not able to do it. I ended up losing over a thousand minutes. Money in TracFone's pocket. Now they are telling me that when I purchase airtime for my card, because of the type of phone that I am using 1/3 of minutes goes to talk, 1/3 goes to data and 1/3 goes to text. So if you don't use all of the services you will lose all that money.

I currently have a phone that has 1000 minutes of voice, 800 minutes of data and 0 minutes of texting. Guess what we use more and guess who gets to keep all of the money? I'm 71 years old. I lost things and I forget stuff. I have been a TracFone customer for years. I really like the LG flip phone because I don't want a cell phone with a lot of bells and whistles, and you really can't beat the price. I basically use the cell for my personal safety - in case there's an emergency while I'm out of the house. But the service TracFone offers is abysmal and I think it's a bit shady. I have lost a couple of the flip phones, and have had to replace them. When that happens, no matter how many minutes I had on the lost phone, Tracfone keeps telling me that I can't have those minutes back- even though I have paid for them. In my book that's a form of stealing. I'm talking about hundreds and hundreds of minutes they won't let me have back. They have told me that the minutes they are taking back are "bonus" minutes and that I can't have them back for the new phone. I wonder how they can tell which minutes are which.

I recently lost my flip phone with 259 minutes left on it. I deactivated it, purchased the Alcatel Android and found it to be an EXTREMELY inferior product and terribly difficult to use to say nothing about how fast the battery discharged. I had charged the android for the recommended length of time, left it on the kitchen table and in 2.5 hours the phone was dead. I had not used it at all except for transferring my phone number and buying minutes. It just sat there pathetically dying on the table. In the meantime, I FOUND my lost (misplaced) flip phone a few days later. I wanted to reactivate it and transfer my number back. I also asked about how I can get my old minutes back, but first they told me that I had to buy new minutes. WHAT THE HECK?

In the last several days, I have been told by EVERY CS rep that those minutes will be sent to my phone within 15 minutes. Those minutes have NEVER been sent back to my phone, although when I bought NEW minutes, they showed up on my phone almost immediately. I keep getting messages on my flip phone telling me to call Tracfone to complete the transaction. So far today I have received 6 of those texts. I did call them back, talked with one CS rep, then she transferred me to someone in another department who told me that my phone was defective. REALLY? I can make calls, receive calls and texts, take and send photos and buy minutes but they can't send back my old, unused minutes. Something's rotten in Tracfone Land.

I even tried to contact their CEO, but he died. It would seem that if Tracfone wanted to keep me as a customer, they would do the honorable thing -- but do they know what that might be? Naaah. They're too busy giving customers the runaround, stealing minutes from customers and being rude and completely useless as far as help goes.

Then the "manager" tells me, "Well then go buy a new one." This is not how you conduct a business and "assist and satisfy" your customers as well as the company. The happier the customer, then they will tell others to use that vendor!!

I read any reviews on this company only one was good. I can relate to all the negatives. They are honest and well deserved. I personally would give it zero stars. While I give the same to this "President" elected? I am in agreement with one of the many negative reviewers who finds benefit in the fact this company will be subjected to tariffs because they operate outside the United States and will go out of business. We are subject to an unprecedented overload of lies in this country today beginning at the top.

My first phone of which I was very comfortable with just stopped. Everything, pictures, contacts, etc... lost. I bought an android and additional minutes. They transferred my 900 minutes to 90 minutes to my android. Any opportunity to cheat they will definitely do it. They assured me they no longer had time limits or I would not have renewed. They will lie at any opportunity to retain business. There is no recourse for the consumer. While they "claim" to have "something" in this country; they say "There is no phone number".

I am very involved with animal activism and my computer serves me superbly for these causes of which I am so very passionate. Otherwise I am out with my four rescue dogs enjoying this paradise called California for as long as she lasts with this administration. I only use the phone for pictures and emergencies and/or convenience. I may be using it more but not with TracFone. I am going to look into another carrier. TracFone is untrackable... The other carrier is just that... For The Consumer.

First off, no one speaks English very well! Second, I was on the phone today for over 2 HOURS after being on hold, transferred several times just to be told they could not help me. I have a couple of phones through them for my kids because the monthly bill is cheap. Well, my son needed a new phone so I ordered it. FedEx came to deliver it today but I wasn't home, and they wouldn't leave because it requires a signature. I called FedEx and asked if they could hold so I could pick up because I would not be home for the next two delivery attempts. They informed me, I would need to call Tracfone and receive authorization from them because they are the ones requiring the signature. Well, that's where the drama began. Called Tracfone and as I stated at the beginning they ended up not helping at all.

The Supervisor said they can not call FedEx and it's their policy someone be home to receive the package. And I said, that's a stupid policy! After 3 attempts it goes back to FedEx anyway, so why can't I request to pick it up before then. And last year, my other son lost his phone and I wanted the minutes transferred to his new phone. They told me I needed to physically have the phone so I could get the serial number from it before the minutes are transferred. But how can I have the phone if it was lost! They said they didn't have the phone's information. However, when you get the phone, you have to set up all that information so I find it hard to believe, they did not have that information anywhere in their system. It was another time I called and same thing, so now it's been a total of 3 times I called and they have not been helpful at all! Well, 3 strikes and you're out! Sick of TracFone! As soon as I find another carrier for my kids phones, they are gone!

No internet access whatever. I called to see if anyone could explain why. They could not. Now the thing is the phone with the BYOP sim is unable to call the TF help number. Not suspicious enough yet? I call from my other $19 TF cell and they swear up and down that it should work. Finally someone leveled with me that Tracfone doesn't have enough towers to support any internet access. With them I got answers and service. I could not figure out why I wasn't getting messages. Then a customer tells me he has left several messages. I can not get in to retrieve them. SO SEVERAL times I called your 800# and kept getting excuses [You need your serial #. You aren't doing things right].

My last call was the worst customer service I ever experienced. She kept telling me to wait a minute then said to try this then said wait again. This went on for 20-30 minutes. I told her, "If this is the best I'll get another carrier." She had the nerve to say that since we were on the line so long she has to get her supervisor. She kept saying wait not me. So I hung up. She had the nerve to call me back and say she has it straight but hold on for a minute.

Is this what I am to expect? Due to being in the hospital I haven't used my phone a lot. Now I find out your people can't even get my voicemail to work. Is it time for me to get a different carrier? I should also inform my customers about your service or lack of. If any of the people that work for me act like this I would fire them on the spot. We still believe in customer service.

Can't understand why so many bad reviews, but they don't seem to be about the LG phones. I had an LG for years and last year they contacted me and said my old phone was becoming obsolete and were replacing it free of charge. It came and I sent my old one in as instructed and my minutes and everything rolled over. The new phone - an LG 237C CDMA HANDSET - is much like my LG441gb and so far works just fine. Rolled over her double minutes and everything. Perhaps we're an exception, but I'm staying with TracFone as it seems the best deal around.

I questioned why I had to pay for a new phone when it was their decision to upgrade. The only reply I got was that I had to purchase a new phone. They said they were giving free phones to customers but they had stopped at the end of December 2016 (19 days previous to my call to them), I was never notified that my phone was going to be obsolete and was never offered a replacement. I told the customer service person to tell her manager that if I didn't receive a new phone free of charge that I was going to cancel my service. Still no satisfaction. This becomes quite bothersome when you have an ongoing issue. When you have to speak to a different representative each time and they all interpret their policy differently, it's next to impossible to get anything resolved. The service is acceptable. After many years as a Tracfone user and relatively satisfied, I now find the customer service is less than adequate. If you are content with talking to someone in India that may or may not be trained and may or may not be able to communicate in American Language (not queen's English), then by all means stay with Tracfone. I called their technical support to have a voice mail issue corrected. During my 30-45 minute phone call, all of my minutes were deleted. After some time, minutes were added back only for voice.

Later that day, I received texts that I could not receive or the phone # that the text was from. The texts were to inform me that my sister had died. I finally called Tracfone the following morning and they claimed that a technical error prevented text or sms minutes being added. When I called back this morning to question why I could not text, I asked their Indian representative that I wanted to speak to a supervisor in America. I was transferred and to my dismay, I had to speak to a gentleman who was not American (at least spoke in Queen's English). I am irate and disappointed. Guess it may be time to buy American!

I had a TracFone for five years and then the service became undependable. TracFone sent me a new phone (unsolicited) and said my old phone was outdated. The new phone was not the same at all as the old one that I liked. It was supposed to be a smart phone and I was to be able to get internet (Google). When I first set it up, it worked. Then the next day I could not get on Google (thru gmail) and all of my contacts I'd entered were gone. I called them and talked with three levels of supervisors, managers and they could not get me connected to Google. Manager offered to send me another phone when she discovered that it was probably a reconditioned phone since it had entries from 2014. I returned the first phone and they sent me another but I could not get a connection to the internet with that one either. One rep told me "to familiarize myself with the phone." But I'd read the only brief booklet they sent me and they couldn't make a connection either.

Also, I don't like the tiny keyboard that you have to punch just so to get it right. I bought mobile minutes for internet that of course I cannot use now. So I'm very disappointed in it. I will probably use it until I need new calling minutes then look for another one. The old Tracfone worked fine for me but apparently that is over now. Now you can't even find your minute balances unless you call the company, whereas, it used to be displayed on the home page. No longer a satisfied customer.

I have receive very poor customer service with this company. I purchased a new TracFone Android ZTE from Walmart. The phone I had before was a TracFone flip phone. It was AWESOME. I loved the price and it worked great. I only replaced it so that I could have a camera and to use the internet. That was the only reason. I turned on my new phone. No service. I called the company, 3 technicians and 4 plus hours later it was decided that the SIM card in the phone was the wrong one for the phone. This was a factory sealed phone. I was told it would take 3 days for the new one. Nope, over 2 weeks later I call.

I was informed the SIM card was on back order. I talked to 2 people and many hours later they decided I did need one. And for some reason this SIM card wasn't on 'back order'. It arrived after a week. I had no internet and could not text. I sucked it up. I could make and receive calls. My minutes ran our 3 mos later. I was on automatic renewal (they had my credit card number on file). I called to add minutes and to be put on auto-renewal (again). The lady informed me my phone didn't show internet compatibility. I told her it hasn't worked since I bought the phone in August, this is the end of November. She said “You need a new SIM card.”

So, yet again I am without a phone and the card arrives a week late. I was told to call customer service before I put the card in the phone. I call and the gentleman told me I needed to add my airtime card before he could do ANYTHING. I told him nicely that I had on 12-1-16. He said I didn't. So, I give him the credit card number (where's the auto-renewal I am wondering?). He tells me “I don't think this is going to fix your problem, this new SIM card.” Now, I have already put 9 hours into calling this company and 'waiting on the line' while I am switched to different people. So, the good news is after about 40 min. after he tells me it won't work, the phone is working correctly for the first time since I bought it.

The guy then says “I really didn't think it would work.” This was after 9:00 p.m. The next day I notice that my phone number is not the same. He never told me he gave me a new number. I never asked for a new number. At this point I was NOT going to call back and waste more time on the phone. Last night I receive my credit card statement. There were 2 airtime card charges 11 days apart for the same amount. I call customer support. They said I was wrong. I was transferred twice. There was NO apology. The last guy even read to me out loud that my account had been charged twice and said that I wouldn't get a refund, that their tech hadn't read the last persons notes and wanted to know if I wanted to buy more bonus minutes.

I abruptly said “No I am calling for a refund and have been charged twice in 11 days and I want my refund. I don't want more minutes!” I was then finally transferred to billing and he took about 5 minutes and refunded me. I never once received an apology. I have NEVER had anyone say “Gee you must be frustrated.” or “Boy this has been a mess.” Nothing. I am a professional with many patients. I believe in customer service in my field. I have taken pay cuts for my services in order to satisfy my patients. All I wanted was a working phone and a sorry. Is that too much to ask? Instead I received the run around, weeks without a phone, no compensation and charged twice, lost my phone number and I still don't have auto renewal for my minutes. I guess I'm just really PICKY.

MotoX 2nd Gen (2014) to TracFone. Decided to switch from long time provider to TracFone to save money. I read the numerous bad reviews, but concluded they were primarily concerning customer service. However, in that I am computer literate, and technically savvy, I anticipated I would not require customer service; rather, I'd be able to complete porting of my number to my own smart phone using TracFone's website. Not the case. Purchased and received their activation kit containing 3 sim cards - but not until subject to lots of inconvenience and cost. TracFone is unable to provide - even at my cost - overnight service. Lost a work day waiting at home to sign for delivery which did not occur. Received Email with FedEx tracking number. Checked with FedEx, and tracking did not exist in their system.

Next day, same thing. Turns out, replacement sim card was sent via USPS. Yet most of yet another day waiting tracking number was Received Email with FedEx tracking was unable to pay for overnight d. Activated my number, and inserted the nano sim card. Activation failed many times with the message "activation incomplete". Messages indicated that upon a power off and back on, activation would be attempted again. When I contacted customer service via chat, waited approximately 23 minutes before an agent entered the chat. Agent either did not understand what I explained, or chose to ignore, because I was asked what I already explained many times. Further, when I mentioned that I'd tried calling the number contained in my activation kit "if activation failed" I was scolded, and asked why I'd done so, and told that I could have damaged my phone by calling that number!

Overall, agent was obviously following a script, and offered nothing in the way of meaningful assistance. Worse yet, he indicated that I needed to remove the battery from my phone. I explained that I couldn't figure out how to do so, reiterated the make and model of my phone, and was told he'd wait for me. Turns out battery is glued into case, and is not intended to be removed at all. This resulted in minor damage to my otherwise perfect condition phone. I ended chat, and started another one. Another lengthy wait, another long convoluted chat, which ended by the agent indicating that the sim card sent to me was faulty. He either didn't know, or would not explain what was wrong. Solution was to send another sim card. This time I received a "combo sim card(s)" - standard and micro sized, even though I was specific about requiring a "nano" sized card.

At this point I contacted my prior provider with the intent of purchasing another month of service from them due to being without service for over a week, but found that due to my number having been ported to TracFone, I was no longer a customer, and was unable to do so. Solution was yet another replacement sim card, which I was told would arrive Wed or Thurs of following week. Didn't arrive. Another chat, and was told that it would be longer - I was misinformed, "processing another sim card can take up to five days".

It is now exactly five (5) days later, and yet another chat results in my being told my 3rd sim card may have a tracking number by tomorrow - a full week to put a sim card in an envelope, and place in the mail?! Attempting to save a few dollars has cost me over two weeks of service, considerable time, and anguish to family and friends wondering why my cell phone is "disconnected". I strongly recommend that anyone reading this review avoid porting a phone to TracFone. Most reviews indicate customer service is bad; In my experience, I can't think of any way it could possibly be worse. However, giving this last comment further consideration, I will add that in my experience, all agents were courteous.

We had purchased $100 of coverage until about 2018 and had almost 1000 minutes remaining on our account. The new phone worked fine for about 3 weeks, and suddenly it had a message saying no service. We contacted customer service, who identified a faulty SIM card and then sent us a new one. The new SIM did not work either.

After going through several layers of technicians and supervisors, it was determined that our phone number had been changed, and it was not linked to our phone. We did not ask for a number change, and they had the gall to insist that this new number had been our number attached to this phone. We tried to explain that we had had this same number for several years, and did not want to change to the new number they said was now attached to this phone They told us our old number was no longer available. We told them to cancel our service because we had wanted to keep our number and give us a refund of our money on our account. They refused, saying this was their policy no to return pre-payments.

To me, this is incompetence and theft of our money. Not only did they change our number without asking and failed to resolve our no service issue, they refused to refund the money we had paid for a service that no longer worked. So buyer beware... TracFone service is less than competent and they will steal your money. What other company refuses a refund for a mistake that they made and for a service they cannot provide... fly by night outfits. And if you can find one of those, you really save a ton of money while having a good usable phone.

I had been contacted several times by Tracfone stating that my Samsung T404g phone would be shut off - my service disconnected on Dec. 31 because as of that time my phone would no longer be capable of use. This is all because of the 2g migration that they started. I say it was a way to force customers to buy new phones. I did not want a smart phone or an android phone. I use my phone only for emergencies and some text and send a few pictures. I don't use my phone as a computer or for internet purposes. I finally was able to find a basic phone that took picture (not good) and was not a smartphone - This was not an easy task.

I finally call to get the phone activated, which I did. I now have a phone that does not have full service (bars) unless I stand on my head! And I have a hard time using it as it has no buttons (its a touch screen), it does NOT show whom is calling or who text are coming in from like my old phone did. The issue that really bothers me is that they DID disconnect my service from my Samsung phone and at this time it still has more signal than the new phone I was forced to buy.

This makes NO sense to me. The phone that was not suppose to work or have any signal after December 31 still has full bars and full signal even though it has been shut off from TracFone service. The new phone has very little signal and is not half as good as my old phone. I am NOT happy with this at all and wonder why my old phone had to be disconnected before we could have a chance to see if it still would work or not, but they would not give me that choice. It was made clear my phone was being disconnected on Dec. 31 and to get a new phone or I would lose all my minutes and phone number. I believe this was all a scam or something?

I need a phone to carry with me everywhere I go. I don't leave my home except for Doctors appointments. I need the phone to be able to get help if needed to get out of bed or similar situations (emergencies). I was able to hit ONE button and contact my husband or a friend, now I am not able to do that with this phone. The old phone I knew well and I could feel the button even if I could not see. This I can't do that. There is nothing to feel and now I am stuck. If I need help I don't know what I will do. I sleep with the phone in my bed so I could always get it. Now it does no good. I struggled for about 2 hours or more to get out of bed this morning as I could not call for help, Thanks to Tracfone. Some may ask why I do not have a lifeline. It is because I don't need an ambulance, just assistance.

I have a DNR on file so NO reason for an ambulance. I don't have order # so I am sending my cell phone number. It has not changed. Showing picture of phone similar to the new LG phone and my actual Samsung T404g phone. The thing is they want everyone to get the new smart/androids so they can split your minutes 3 way, text - talk - data and NO more double or triple minutes on any of the new phones! That's the scam and their reason for all this, I believe.

All I know for sure, is my Samsung would work if activated and they dis-activated it. Possibility they had a mix up and think my Samsung is my old phone I had before I bought the Samsung? They are so dumb you never know? I do know a lot of people are not happy with this migration and having to buy new phones that they don't want nor need. Older people especially do not want all the bells and whistles of these smartphones and will not use them. The ones I have spoke with are getting something through AARP.

I have to call Miami to get anything done -- which always takes a good while to actually be done. I have a balance of about 4,000 minutes which is hard to use as I do not have a good manual to follow. I am on a monthly bill and there is no way I can just pay a small fee to remain "live" and suspend collecting more minutes until I can use up some of my balance. This is a common problem when one lives where there is no reliable cell service. Once I get the "right" person on the phone, which usually involves two or three transfers, the problem is resolved. However, I would like to be able to either download a new manual or be mailed a printed one.

Tracfone has been our cell provider for about 7 years. Customer service has been excellent when problems arise. We have traveled all across the 50 states and have cell service wherever we go. Had cell service at 10,000 feet in a mountain valley.
