For the most part your service is okay. It's just that every so often it doesn't download my text messages. The first time it happened I didn't get a critical notice I should have gotten the night before but driving back from Houston in the middle of the afternoon all of a sudden I get about a dozen or more notices. Bang bang bang, one right after the other. Happened a few other times also but not to that degree. If you are using the same network as AT&T (which I never had a problem with) then why is this happening. At the end of my contract I'm seriously thinking of going back.
Greetings, Ron! We regret to hear of the service issues that you have been experiencing. If you are still experiencing these issues, please give us a call at 1-877-820-7873. We will be more than happy to assist you in determining what the issue may be.

When me and my wife are noticing that when we go in to certain areas we have no coverage. Can not open banking information, nor receive messages, nor phone calls until we come out of the area. Also billing could be managed better if you would like to pay for bill early, without paying a fee.
Greetings, Parrish! We regret to hear that you are experiencing limited coverage in your area. It is correct that if you have limited to no coverage, you would not be able make or receive calls or send and receive text messages. We also thank you for your billing suggestion. Currently, for any manual payments made, there is a $5 surcharge. However, if you are on AutoPay, you are not charged when your payment is processed automatically on your billing date.

I like the low costs and option to bring your own phone, but the coverage (even in the Midwest where I live) is very poor. In fact, at the small general store one block from my house, I don't have service. It's very disappointing.
We have reviewed the coverage in your area and it seems that the coverage is good. Since you are having issues with the coverage, we would like to further investigate your area. We have submitted a ticket to AT&T to do so. Once we receive a response from AT&T, we will be sure to let you know.

I think overall the service is good. I get unlimited talk, text, and voice. I also think it's neat that they upgrade my data without changing my monthly price. I haven't had any problems with receiving text and video chats, unless they're too many people using the line, hence the pandemic. Overall, good service and great pricing. Would recommend to others.
Thanks, Krista! We are happy to hear that you are pleased with your Pure Talk service!

I have had nothing but problems since I received your sim card in the mail. I had to put my old card back in to call customer service and activate my account. When I put your chip back in I couldn't call or text. I sent you emails and only received a form letter in response. I even suggested that you send me another sim card, but no response. I do not want service from your company if this is how you treat your customers.
Greetings, Marc! We regret to hear of the issues that you experienced when setting up your Pure Talk service. After reviewing the situation, it appears that there was a delay in your port request, as we were in need of additional information to get your number ported over. This would have caused the issue that you experienced when first inserting your Pure Talk SIM card into your device. We would like to offer our apologies if the information provided was not clear. If you are still experiencing any issues, please give us a call at 1-877-820-7873. Here at Pure Talk, we value all of our customers and want everyone to have the best experiences possible.

I called because my phone was telling me low data usage. I called PureTalk USA. I told the young lady that I do a lot of Zoom meetings and she said that my usage was fine. That I had x amount of data left. As far as my phone telling I didn't well. That is a mystery.
Greetings, Marilee! If your device is telling you that you have utilized all of your data, but you still have data remaining on your account, it likely means that your device settings are set to warn you when you reach a certain usage amount of data. This may or may not be in conjunction with the billing cycle for Pure Talk. If you would like assistance in updating the settings in your device, you may reach out to us at 1-877-820-7873.

We haven't had any issues with our Puretalk service and love the price. We have always recommended you to everyone looking to get away from the big overpriced carriers. The one thing I do miss is the hotspot that I had with T-Mobile and would love for you to add that feature. I would really like to have a personal hotspot device with your service for infrequent travel.
Greetings, Chris! Thank you for the great review and the recommendations! Pure Talk does support the mobile hotspot feature for cell phones. However, we cannot guarantee access to this feature for all Android users and some carrier-branded phones will have this feature blocked. The feature should be automatically added for iPhone users. If you have an iPhone and the hotspot feature is not working or have an Android device and would like to try out the hotspot feature, you may give us a call at 1-877-820-7873.

It does seem that SMS messages do not go through quite as well as my previous carrier, but again, for the price I’m pleased.
Greetings, Brittany! We’re happy to hear that you are pleased with the pricing of our services, but regret to hear of the signal issues that you have in your area. The SMS messages not going through quite as well may have something to do with the signal you are receiving in your area.

I am quite happy with voice and text service; I consider it a very good value with the AMAC membership plan. The only feature I miss is international call (and text?) support. I have a daughter in Europe, and if I didn't have "home" VoIP service, I'd be at a loss. But I can appreciate that it may be impossible to provide international service at the same value, even with extra cost/minute charges.
Thanks David! Pure Talk does offer international calling. Please contact Customer Support, and we’d be happy to get you set up with that.

We had Pure TalkUSA for 2 of our phones. I had HORRIBLE service in my own home. Texts wouldn't go through, especially group texts and/or texts that included an attachment. I had one little spot in my house where I could stand so that people could actually hear me when I made calls, otherwise it kept breaking up. I called customer service several times and tried everything, but to no avail. The final straw was when I called to see IF I could get a refund for my service for this month - it had just started and we were going to port our numbers to a new provider within a couple days, so I didn't find it necessary to pay for another month, for nothing.
The customer service rep jumped ahead and processed a refund for my line. I didn't ask for that, and because of that, long story short - it's been a major headache setting up my phone with the new company. The only positive thing that I can say is that their customer service reps have always been kind and have always tried to help - except for the one girl who processed that return. I am still without actual phone service and I am not happy. I have called them and they "have a ticket" in to fix the problem, but who knows how long that will take. Incredibly frustrating. I would not recommend Pure Talk to anybody.

After hearing and reading ads on Pure Talk Cellular service I researched online and found I could save about half of my monthly bill by changing to Pure Talk USA. I went online and ordered SIM cards for our phones. I received the SIM cards in a couple of days so I decided to sign up for the service online. The online application was somewhat confusing so I called Pure Talk to make sure I was completing the application correctly. The customer service rep walked through the porting process.
My phone ported fairly quickly but my husband's phone did not. I had to call back the next day and was put on hold for 45 minutes and then when someone came on the line I was disconnected. I called back and was put on hold for another hour and was told I'd have to be transferred to another department. I waited on hold for a while longer until I was finally able to get my husband's phone port complete. Later in the day I was out and tried to use Google on my phone to get directions and had no data service.
I called my husband and he had no data either. I spoke to a few people on my phone and realized the sound on the phone was much poorer quality than I had normally had with my previous carrier. I went through the day and tried to use my phone in different areas and had no network several times. I decided to go back to my previous carrier for service. I went through the process to port my phone back to the previous carrier and after 24 hours I still cannot receive calls. My present carrier says that Pure Talk needs more time to complete the porting process. I have no idea when I will be able to fully use my cell phone.

I switched service providers from Verizon to Pure Talk in November of last year. When I first switched I had two different phone representatives tell me two different answers about my being able to use the hotspot feature. I explained to them that I worked from home and needed access to my hotspot when away from my home WIFI. The first rep stated I should have the ability to use this feature, the second said I wouldn't. Both reps seemed unconcerned that I would not have this for work. I kept checking that my settings and everything were correct, and it was not working at first but now it works. There was no urgency or anything to help me out this. I let this situation go and just kept on with them as a customer.
On Friday, April 24th my husband I tried to switch his service provider to Pure Talk to save us money on our cell phone service bill. My concession with doing this was I very rarely have to contact PureTalk's customer service, so the lower costs would be worth it. However, when we made the order for the SIM card to get the activation started the rep we spoke with said that she would send the SIM card via the USPS instead of FedEx. Back in Nov., my SIM card was sent via FedEx. The rep stated that USPS was delivering more quickly right now, I thought this was not true, but didn't interfere with her decision. I was emailed the tracking info. stating that it would be sent USPS Priority mail which is 2-3 business days. It's been 5 days today, May 1st, and we haven't received anything. I've called customer service for help with this and was told I need to call USPS to track the package. However, my local USPS is not taking phone calls.
Why choose to put a valuable customer through all of these hoops when I didn't ask to receive the SIM card via USPS. I was told by another rep when I called that he was not sure why the rep would choose to send the SIM card via USPS since FedEx is faster. None of the reps I spoke with this week really sought to rectify this situation for us. This now makes it a whole week that my husband has been without a phone. There has been any real help offered. When I was with Verizon, they were more expensive, but their customer service was more responsive and great at working to resolve customer issues. As a result of this, we're looking to other options currently.
I don't understand why we couldn't be sent a new SIM card, especially since our debit card was charged immediately. Wish the reps would have done more to help us get my husband's phone back on. I asked to speak with a manager and was told by the rep she would have her supervisor give me a call. That was two days ago and I haven't heard from anyone. I saw that PureTalk responds via this platform, so I'm hoping to have my issue addressed. Thanks.

I joined Pure talk as customer 4/1/2020 about 2 weeks ago as a NEW customer. I still have 2 weeks to cancel my account for 100$% refund if I choose to according to policy. They key here is " NEW " customer. I still am a NEW customer! One reason I joined is due to the fact Pure talk offers phones on a installment basis with their service "NO" discount SALE of the phone I wanted 4/1/202", yet I still was going to get the phone in a few months due to having great credit with or without installment options. I also "daily" check to see if the phone I want is still available with or without a discount.
Yesterday 4/20/20 on their website the phone I wanted is advertised for $250.00 off. I figured with a National Emergency Pure-talk was discounting their phones for their valued clients because of this. While trying to purchase that phone on their website from THEM directly and their finance company Affirm, my purchase did NOT allow the $250.00 discount although advertised that way. Still is.
I made 2 separate phone calls to customer service that same day. Both customer service reps. had two conflicting stories as to WHY I could not get the phone I wanted at the advertised discount. First service rep for Pure talk told me to go on my profile with Pure-talk and add the phone to my cart for purchase. When I attempted to do so it was NOT at the sale price. The service rep on the phone from pure-talk " recommended I call and check with the company Pure talk uses for its financing (Affirm) regarding the phone at a $250.00 discount and was "SURE" thats why I was having a problem getting $250 discount.
I called the finance company as directed. The finance company Affirm informed me the $250.00 discount advertised by Pure-talk they did not see that option with their service for that discount and I would have to contact Pure talk for the answer since I should be able to get the phone directly through Pure-talk regarding the advertised $250.00 discount.. So again, I contact a different customer service rep about this issue and she tells me the $250.00 discount is for NEW customers.
When I proceeded to tell her I am a new customer, and have 2 weeks left as a NEW customer to decide if I want their services she said nothing and had no answer. I told her the main reason I joined Pure-talk is due to the fact they have financing and phone discounts. This phone rep. then told me the discounts are only for NEW customers. I then told her, I just joined 2 weeks ago, and am still considered a NEW customer since I have 2 weeks as a NEW customer to decide if I want his service risk free. She had no answer or the energy to get me the correct answer. Lastly, on this same conversation, this same service rep. (Natasha) as I told her I just joined and wanted to purchase a phone from them directly or Affirm finance told me the $250.00 discount has been ""available for a month"". NOT TRUE!
Like I said, I'm on going my 3rd week of service with PURE-TALK and if the phone was at a $250.00 discount as advertised when I joined, I would have got that phone " the same day I chose Pure-talk as a customer and would not be writing this letter. There is nowhere on their customer profile page that states this $250.00 discount is for people who joined during the "advertised sale day" NOWHERE! Moreover, I know for a FACT this $250.00 discount was NOT available to me when I joined and this customer service rep. "insisted" it was! When I told her she was wrong and the phones have NOT been on a $250.00 discount for a month she hung up on me!!!! REALLY? What do I get? My intelligence insulted and lies. Please stop this company from its deceptive, unethical, business practices and advertisements.

My wife and I have had Pure Talk for a couple of years. Both phones work great and I have never lost a call of hit a dead spot. (Amazing for Montana.) I am surprised and suspicious of these bad reviews. Not our experience at all. I have my account through AMAC which is a conservative version of the liberal AARP. Wondering if that has anything to do with these bad reviews.
Hello Dan! We are happy to hear of your positive experience and the great coverage in Montana!

Before I signed up with Pure Talk (one) important question I asked to the customer service representative is "do you offer WIFI"? Their response was "YES". After leaving TMobile (which now was a big mistake) I signed up with Pure Talk and come to find out, unless you have an iPhone you don't get WIFI. So, the speed on my phone is worse than dial up which makes my phone worthless. So if I want to get faster service the cost will be about the same as T Mobile. I would expect this dishonest service with a foreign company but this is a USA company supposedly run by ex military. I won't be with this company much longer. I HATE LIARS.

I read about Pure Talk in our AMAC magazine. We decided to try it. I needed a new phone and was bringing one with. Talked to customer service and set it up. They called the next day said they could not verify my address or AMAC membership. So with talking to her I had to send verification. She said they would call when they received it. No call, so I called and was told she would call me back. This went on for a week. I finally got fed up and told her to credit my credit card back. She told me to send back the phone I told her I couldn't 'cause I never received it. It had not even been shipped yet. Very poor customer service. I too was kept on the phone for anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes.
Hi Regina! We regret to hear that you had issues with verifying your address and AMAC membership. Sometimes, additional verification is needed before processing an order. We do this to prevent any fraudulent activity. We are experiencing unusually high call volumes and we do apologize that you were placed on hold for a long period of time, we are working to rectify this as quickly as possible.

Three times so far in 2020, my texting service suddenly stopped and I had no idea until friends emailed to let me know they could not reach me. Each time, I called Pure TalkUSA customer service to report the stoppage. All three times I sat on hold for at least 45 minutes and today was well over an hour. The first two times, I was told that a database upgrade had occurred and my information "was not transferred correctly." The second time, I was disconnected several times on transfers to tech support and had to keep calling back in and sitting on hold. I was on the phone for over three hours before I finally got to someone who could correct the problem.
The hold music that they make you listen to is about a 30 second loop and is easily the most annoying hold music I've ever heard. After an hour of that, you are ready to scream! After sitting on hold today for about an hour and twenty minutes, I reached an employee who told me that Pure TalkUSA has an message limit of 5000 texts per billing period. Mind you, the plan I have has "Unlimited Talk & Text" supposedly. She reset the count to 5000 and said she was putting in a ticket with AT&T (Pure TalkUSA's carrier) to increase my limit to 10,000 texts a month.
I'm sharing my experiences here to let you, the prospective customer, know that you do get what you pay for. Their tech support is very slow and the ones I've talked to are NOT well trained. Also, it's ridiculous for them to say you have an unlimited talk and text plan and then have a limit on the number of texts. Worse is just to cut off the service without notifying the customer. When Pure Talk works as expected, it's a good value, but if you run into something with your service you are going to have a hard time getting it straightened out. It will be a frustrating experience.

Spotty service, Lousy customer support. I decided to switch my service from ATT to Puretalk after recommendation from Dave Ramsey. I wanted to port my number over but thought I'd check out the service for a month during the guarantee period. Glad I waited. I am using the PureTalk sim in an iPhone 8 and I carry it alongside another iPhone with my ATT sim.
In most areas of my workplace I get good signal on the ATT sim (4 bars) but only 1 or often none - no service, on the PureTalk sim. Likewise, when I go shopping I get good signal with ATT but low signal with PT. Even outside under God's glorious sunshine the PureTalk signal is puny. Thinking that the iPhones may be at fault I switched the sims around; but with similar results. ATT simply has better service here. I will say though, that when a call connects through PureTalk the call is crystal clear with great volume.
My trial month is almost up and I really wanted this service to work so I called PureTalk for a customer support representative and waited on hold, and waited, and waited. I was thinking that there was a switch I could set on my phone or perhaps something PureTalk could do on that end to boost my signal. I thought I had explained my issue and asked for help to resolve it but was met with a condescending attitude and absolutely no help or even fake concern for my problem.
I asked to speak to someone else, a manager perhaps, and the rep says in effect "sure hangup and call again" and I'd get someone else. In the end it was offered that PureTalk cannot guarantee a good connection, but that PureTalkUSA did indeed use ATT towers. My company phones use Republic Wireless (republicwireless.com) for their carrier and in this area republic uses GSM ATT towers and we have very few complaints about service. Maybe PureTalk isn't so good out here in the backwoods State of Colorado but there is really no excuse for such bad customer support.

I have had my phone plan with them for several years now and the cost is less than 40.00 a month for 2 lines. I also get 1 GB of 4G data each month with unlimited 2G speeds after that. They have several other plans but since I use very little data each month this suits me best. Also the more lines you have the larger the discount. All you have to do is buy a sim card for their service for 3.50 for each line you want and use your own unlocked phone. I have been using my Samsung J7 for almost 5 years now and bought it unlocked new on Ebay with a two year extended warranty for less than 200.00. Best and least expensive way to have cell phone service I can find. The second line is for my sister so she has service.

I left Verizon based on a review done by Dave Ramsey and his recommendation. This service was supposed to be 4G and I was told my area had good coverage. That turned out to be a story, I could not connect to the network to make calls, I had constant errors and only one bar of 3G. I attempted to contact Pure Talk and got a bunch of b.s. They told me that they do not use ATT towers or equipment which after speaking with ATT to move the service I was told that, "Pure Talk is limited to the number of towers they can use and you might get lucky and have one near you." Not so lucky.
As for the customer service, you call and are out on hold for over an hour or more. Then given an option to leave your number for a call back that usually takes days to happen if it happens at all. I have been with every major carrier and never had or have experienced anything remotely as horrible as this company. I am getting as far away as possible and getting a refund. I am not over on my usage (the reason for the upgrade). Here I am into February, same problem. Thought it was my location, but the problem with the MMS persists even with WIFI connection!!!! People TRY to send me pictures, but the actual picture never downloads! Do not recommend this company @ all even tho they are recommended by AMAC, that is the reason I went with them in the first place, was their recommendation! Supposed to be a Christian conservative senior magazine equivalent to AARP. So if you are thinking about changing your phone plan, don't get this one!!!!
Original Review: I have only had service with this company for less than a month and am already thinking about asking for a refund. I have been having issues with downloading pictures to my text and receiving pictures and apps and websites are constantly saying "no internet connection". I started out with the 8MB plan for 35.00 month. After a week they started throttling videos like on YouTube. They did say this is what would happen when the cycle was near usage limit on data. But I go to the website and it said I used 93 gb; 0 MB. So I upgraded to the next plan and still have the same problems even tho I don't use much data.
This internet connection for downloading pictures doesn't even work in town when it shows full bars! I had to call tech support several times and twice asked for a call back which never happened! So I stayed on the line and after 20 min hung up. I had to call Tech support initially about this same matter! Problems with the MMS downloading pictures in text & now I am calling them again about the same matter. Very frustrating, how I wished I'd of stayed with the company I was using! How I wished I would of read these reviews!

I was checking out no contract cell companies and came upon Puretalk. Their ad said it was started by a veteran and had the phone I wanted. They also offered 2 day Fed Ex shipping. I got on their site and entered my information with a PO box and was alerted that 2 day was not available to po boxes so I added my physical address. I opted to pay rather than financing the phone. That was 12/30/19. When 3 days had gone by, added for new years, and no phone I called in. They could find not tracking info for my phone so I asked for a manager. I was told there were no managers that day so I said I would call back the next day. I asked for a manager again since there was still no tracking available and was to they were in a meeting and she would put a notice to call me back when they were out of meeting. No call back that day so next day I called again. The person said they would get a manager.
Well 15 to 20 minutes on hold I had to hang up for a scheduled call. Still no tracking. I started checking their reviews again and found a few 5 stars then it went south. Many 1 & 2 stars with the same or similar problems as mine. I sent them an email and said if and when I get the phone I would be sending it back. I explained in my email that if your first interaction with a company is bad that is an indicator that I don't want to do business with them not to mention the bad reviews. Well that prompted them to call me at appx 6:15 in the morning. The lady apologized and offered 2 months free service but by then I had already chosen a better company and would not have even considered it if I hadn't.
I chose this company primarily because it said it was started by a veteran, as I am, and the few reviews I read were good. Very few. Next time I will read more reviews but all in all if a company wants my business don't start out not holding up to the promises and don't treat your new potential customers like second class citizens.

I have service with Pure Talk for a few years and the service is really good using my phone that I provided not one of theirs. I decided to give my son the phone for his first phone but need to get him a new number of his own which required ordering a new SIM card from pure talk and paying for the plan upfront which was fine. I transferred the number I had on his phone to my current carrier and had no issues and cancelled the account associated with the number I carried with me with pure talk.
When it came time to pay his bill they said I still had both accounts one of which was supposed to have been cancelled. Was told my number I transferred had not been successfully ported to my new carrier but obviously has because I’m on a completely different carriers iPhone with no pure talk sim. Anyway I was told that I had to pay both bills. Remind you this prepaid service to keep his phone active so in essence I had to pay for a # that is no longer associated with their company just to keep my son's service on. I also followed up with my carrier and my # is an active number with them. I really think I deserve a total refund of the whole amount I was charge for a # number I no longer have with them.

When I called in to ask some questions I was told that today only they were offering 50% off of the total bill for today if I signed up and I even made a comment about getting 50% off of the phone that I purchased. I don't know if the representative didn't understand me but I was told that that was correct. Come to find out it was only 50% off of the monthly charge for the first month and not the phone.

We had horrible experience with dealing with IT and customer service. I understand having to wait 24 hours for a response, but when you have to constantly follow up with customer service about issues that is a problem. The fact that they do not follow their own refund policy is beyond frustrating. If you are going to state you have 30 days or 500 MG of data or 500 minutes it means as long as you qualify under one category you can still receive a refund. But they have changed and have not updated their policies. So it is ridiculous that you will not honor what you clearly have posted on your site. Will never recommend this service to anyone!
Thank you for your message. We do apologize about the confusion in regards to our risk free guarantee. On our site it does state “Customer has up to until their next bill date, or 500 minutes or 500 MB of data usage (whichever comes first) to contact customer service and initiate the refund request.” So if you end up using the allotted minutes and data you lose eligibility for a refund or if you do not use the allotted service but cancel outside of the 30 days you will still be responsible for your full bill amount.
Up until this point we have not had any customer experience any issues or confusion with how our Risk Free Guarantee process works.
I hope that this clarifies our policy to you and again we do apologize for the confusion and for the time it may have took for you to receive a some additional assistance through our customer service department.

After using multiple other cell phone providers and having issues such as coverage loss, bad customer service, and expensive bills for the services offered, I researched multiple providers and decided to try Pure Talk. My service was activated within 4 hours of the number port. A 20 minute phone call enabled data, with very knowledgeable and polite customer service based in the USA. After a few months of flawless service, I recommended Pure Talk to few friends. They were easily able to keep their numbers, activate Pure Talk, and any customer service call was efficient and resolved the issues.
I feel that the pricing is very fair, and competitive with any other MVNO operating on the same parent service. Some of the features they offer that I don't see offered with competitors is: unlimited throttled data once you've gone over, with no surprise overage bills; free data hotspots; and quality customer service. Would recommend this to anyone looking to switch providers and gain a good provider with quality features and support.

First, the only positive to using Pure Talk is dealing with friendly people (which isn't common these days when it comes to customer service). However, the service is sketchy and setting up the phone was extremely stressful. I had no idea I'd have to use data (even when WiFi is available) to send / receive group texts and also photos in texts. So, low data plans are a gamble with Pure Talk if you are in that category. It also took several phone calls to even get that information. Finally, I decided before my trial period was up, I'd better go ahead and switch companies.
I drove 35 minutes to AT&T (since this whole setting up cell service over the phone had driven me crazy with Pure Talk) and they were porting my number over from Pure Talk when literally the Pure Talk porting department closed and I was left in limbo standing there in AT&T. In the midst of a tropical storm rolling into town, by the way. No cell service at all if I wanted to keep my number. I'd have to wait until the Pure Talk porting dept folks went back to work the next morning (and myself drive 35 minutes through flooded streets). I called the customer service dept (who was open) and they said there was nothing they could do. So, while the folks are friendly, if you happen to have any hiccups with this service (or you don't want to use all your data on texting), buckle up and get ready for an unpleasant roller coaster ride. You get what you pay for, unfortunately.

I was excited to be saving money on phone service once switching from Verizon to Pure Talk. However, it so far has not been worth the savings. It took me 5 hours on the phone with customer service to get everything finally activated. 5 HOURS! My husband and I were unable to work for that amount of time because we obviously had to be on the phone and were also without working phones. We are part time self employed so not only did we lose income from our "employer" job due to taking time to figure out our phones, but we have also lost income from our own business since we can't get in touch with our customers due to the poor service dropping our calls or not even letting them go through. It is incredibly frustrating and I plan to switch back once Labor Day weekend is over.

I've been using Pure TalkUSA about 6 years but the last year or two has not been good. Started off I just needed basic phone service for my mom who lives in a different city. I have 3 phone lines with Pure Talk. Mom's phone is always busy when I call. Drops calls all the time. It rarely even shows that I called her. Doesn't matter what time of month, the data always seems to be weak. It takes forever for pictures to download in my texts.
Google maps is an issue now because it loses connection frequently. If you like driving around lost because your service sucks. Frustrating. I haven't been able to view my data usage on the website for about 6 months now because they changed something. I've tried 4 different web browsers and no luck. I've called tech support numerous times and they tell me nothing is wrong. Apparently everything is my fault.

Original Review: I used Pure TalkUSA for over 2 years. I switched phones to an iPhone SE, and have issues. People call me but I am not getting the calls. Sometimes I can make a call. Most times I have No Service. On many calls I get CALL FAILED. When I call Pure Talk, I always have to hold for at least 20 minutes. Then they tell me to hold on for Tech Support. Another long wait. I recently lost my cell in the ocean while on vacation in the Florida Keys. Since there are no Pure Talk stores I had to use my girlfriend's phone and call to order another sim card that I would put in an unlocked phone upon my return home. I called on Thursday and asked for a new sim card to be expedited to my home by Saturday. I was charged 15 dollars for the expedited shipping. Upon my return Saturday I did not receive my sim card. I attempted to contact someone via the website with no luck. I decided this was too much hassle so I went to another carrier on Sunday to switch service to a new carrier. It took about 10 minutes and I was done except Pure Talk would not release my old number until Monday. It is now Monday morning and I still have no cell service thanks to the terrible customer service. With all of the cell providers available I do not recommend Pure TalkUSA.

I went to Pure Talk from AT&T. I figured if I got at least as good (not so good from AT&T) for half the money no great loss. When I first signed up my service was actually better and I was pleased. Many of the black hole issues had cleared up, no cut off calls, I was pleased. then after my first month it started all over again. All the black holes are back. I get "call failure" regularly. In certain spots, and I mean spots, while driving I just get cut off. One spot is about 1/8 mile long between our Harbor Freight and Lowes stores on RT 72.
I do not like the voicemail system at all. I used to be able to see who left voicemails and choose to respond. With all the spoof calling a good feature. Now it dials in old fashion style and I have to listen to the whole queue. I guess those features are how it's less expensive. So, overall, service is as bad as AT&T. At least its less expensive. I understand Pure Talk gets service from the AT&T system. What I don't understand is why my first month was like having a found paradise and now. So. Overall, I'm neutral on my experience but I am happy not to be paying AT&T nearly $100./month for less data than Pure Talk at around $46.00. I have recommended Pure Talk though with reservations.

There are so many things that are so close, but you still need some work. We ported 12 phone from AT&T to PureTalk, and generally like it, except for a few things, which make us want to return to AT&T.
2) Repeatedly, we have to call support (611) and get them to "enable" something that is included in the plan, for example, "unlimited texting"… Support always says it is AT&T's fault, and they "change a setting" and it works. We have done this multiple times.
3) The MMS texting seems to have the most problems. Same situation as above… We call support (611), and they "enable" something, and it works, at least for a while, and when it fails, and we have to call again.
4) Support also told us that if texting doesn't work, to turn off our local WiFi, and then back on… this is a "Poor solution"… It works, but we NEVER had to do this when we were on AT&T. Most of the time it works without having to do this, but we never know.
5) The data connection (internet) generally works, but like above, occasionally there are problems, and we have to call support (611), and they do something and it works.
6) I suggest you read the notes on our account, I'm sure there are lots of details there. If you really want to have a good system, our account would be a good one to use as an example of what needs to be fixed.
Basically, we are on the edge of returning to AT&T if we have to keep calling support for the same problems over and over again… it's just not worth the savings. If you can stabilize your system, we will stay (and tell all our friends how great the system is), otherwise, we will leave and when asked, will have to say that we had a bad experience.

I used Pure TalkUSA for about 8-months before I decided to switch to someone else. I felt the need to do this because I could not get service in many of the places I traveled such as Page, AZ and most places in Southern Arizona and in the south in general. I decided to try Mint, but when I tried to port my number to Mint, it was impossible to do. After three weeks of contacting Pure Talk to see what the problem was, I gave up (I was unable to make or receive calls or text during that time).
I then called Pure Talk and told them to cancel the port, which they did, and I was able to make calls and text again. However, about six weeks later I'm in the middle of texting a friend when suddenly I no longer had service. I checked my account, which didn't even exist online anymore, so I contacted their help via Facebook. It turns out that according to their records my account had not been active since they canceled the port, even though I had been using it (their records showed that my number was still being ported). During this process, the telephone number I had had for years was lost in the ether. I received a ticket from Pure TalkUSA, and responded to it over a week ago, but have not heard anything new from them. I would not recommend using this company if keeping your phone number is important to you.

However, last Friday I tried to send a text with a photo and found it would not go. Then I realized why, for the initial 2 months of my PT service, I had used 0MB of data: my APN was never set up.
I Googled for the required parameters and found them helpfully posted by BestMVNO along with this interesting sales pitch: "You need help! You're not happy with your carrier because they couldn't even do a simple thing like tell you the right APN! Subscribe to BestMVNO and be happy by getting the latest deals and carrier promotions delivered to your inbox!" OMG, they're right! Beyond transfer of my phone number, I don't recall much introductory help from Pure TalkUSA and certainly no directions w/r/t setting up my APN. As a result, for 2 months I had no access to my 600MB. My husband and I did not like the phones we were using during our time with your company (we did not get them from you). We couldn't find any that we thought we would like at what we felt was a reasonable price, so we ordered them from Amazon, but didn't like them at all. We also couldn't find a plan that would work for us. We needed something with unlimited data and a hotspot as we terminated our internet provider and don't have wifi. Our daughter offered to let us be on her plan, so we just went with that and got free phones with a 30 month contract.

I primarily switched to PureTalk because PureTalk supports AMAC (a politically conservative association). I had a series of difficulties in getting the service set-up (e.g., neither my e-mail address or physical address were recognized by the PureTalk system), but after the very helpful assistance I received from PureTalk personnel (fixing the problems within PureTalk), it worked fine. And every extra feature I needed (e.g., visual voicemail) required another phone call to PureTalk. I think that PureTalk may have unhappy customers because they're unaware of the extra features available to them.

Getting new sim in hand is a slow event in this day of 1-day Amazon delivering. Takes 4-5 days with the 2-3 day paid delivery. Then you can port a preexisting number. Keeping your number is easy, but porting takes at least a day. Have the prior account# and pin ready. And then you need to set up that new SIM in the phone. Takes some doing and if you are not tech savvy it's tricky, a bit. After that all is good and lower cost. Coverage is excellent.

I had been on the throttled data rate for most of the month, but this problem was just in the last day. The representative reset my data on the system and I was back up and running. She did not say specifically what had happened, but I am guessing the system turned me off because it thought I had abnormal usage. I pay for 500MB of data each month but have managed to use around 6GB, so I am not overly surprised. I just wish I had received a message to inform me what was going on. Whenever I swipe my screen to make a call, an ad pops up before I can get to my contacts. There's audio & video for 5 seconds before I can tap the X in one of the upper corners to get rid of the ad. Then when I get a notification that I received an email or message, an ad will start playing before I even read the message or email. I find this to be extremely annoying, and even though the monthly fee and no contract for Pure Talk is more satisfactory, I'm going to investigate other carriers & fees just the same.
Hi, just to clarify, Pure TalkUSA never installs any software onto any phones we sell via our website. Any device purchased from us is brand new with only the manufacturer software installed. Purchased 2 PureTalk USA plans, 500mb and 5GB. The sim cards that go in the phones did not come labeled as to which one was 500mb and which was 5GB. Long story short, I loaded the Sim cards in the wrong phones. Well, I thought "no big deal, I will just go online and switch the amount of data associated with each card." When I lowered the 5GB plan to 500mb plan, there was no refund but when I raised the 500mb plan to 5GB I was charged for the additional coverage. After debating with customer service for some time... they agreed to issue me a credit for the amount charged on my first bill.
After starting to use the service, I could not connect to data anywhere using their network. Also, I could not receive text messages that included pictures. I called and cancelled the service and switched. The company never issued me the credit promised as they are claiming that I never made it to the first bill cycle. They are claiming that they could only issue a credit and not give me a refund. I explained that I cancelled my service due to poor connectivity, so... I can't exactly do a credit. Was told repeatedly, "Sorry sir, that is just our policy." I asked to speak to a manager and was told they are too busy. I implore you not to use this company. I am an avid Dave Ramsey listener and that is how I even heard about and tried this company. Big mistake. Other companies Dave recommends have been great, but this one I don't see lasting long. I had been a customer in good standing for many years, enjoying the most cost-efficient cell phone service, then it happened; My credit card was compromised in July 2018 and was cancelled and new one issued by my bank. Trying to sort out all the problems and get my money back was a nightmare. Determining what businesses I had reoccurring monthly payments to was also extremely difficult.
So I missed updating PURE TALK with my new card number so after 30 days they CANCELLED my account, losing approximately 2,000 talk minutes and any history of my account. I was told "it's gone" and cannot be re-established. I'll bet if it was the FBI trying to gain access to my history and validity of account there would be no problem. I was told there was an email sent notifying me of the problem but I never received it. I did not receive a call or text either. I decided to give Pure Talk a try after ** became way too expensive after the initial "new customer" rate. My experience could not have been better (except with **) - on hold for 40 minutes with ** to get my account number. They gave wrong number so number couldn't be ported by Pure Talk. Called ** again - on hold for 20 minutes.
Was given the CORRECT account number. Pure Talk said NOW the pin was wrong. Called ** again. On hold for 20 minutes. Tried to talk me out of cancelling. Offered me more than they did the first time. I refused. Tried to sweeten the deal with an upgrade. I refused. Finally gave me a new pin because they could not understand why I couldn't be texted my pin as I had switched SIM cards to Pure Talk (and every time I called I spoke to someone who barely speaks English). Called Pure Talk AGAIN. Instant conversation with an ENGLISH speaking rep. Ported my number with no problem. So I am now paying $25 for the same minutes and data I paid $68 with **. Very happy!

I had been with 3 other Big Service Providers off and on for several years until I finally got fed up with worsening bad service, outsourced nightmares, horrible pricing and contracts; tried a couple of the better known little places too but they could be a fiasco as well as pretty generic. I decided to try Pure TalkUSA after reading a little about them on a forum. I've been using their services a little over 2 years now and have never had any problems with them, other than getting my phone settings correct the 1st time I tried setting my phone up with them. But it was MY ERROR and he was very patient and nice, and once I calmed down a bit, things went fine. ;-)
Tech support has been immediate and is all in the USA. Nothing was outsourced the times I contacted them. I think their service has gotten a little better, as I have purchased as well as switched phones back and forth a few times and never had any more setting problems, or any other. As soon as I switch the sim card, I immediately get the new settings and instructions sent to me without having to do anything on my end.
I pay $20 a month for my service instead of 40-100+ a month from everyone else. They have several plans to pick from, and they will grandfather you in if you are on one you like better if they change plans. (But make sure you ask if everything is still included compared to their new plans.) And, they do seem to try and come up different plans and prices fairly regular. They have decent prices on their phones they sell. Samsung, LG, Alcatel They all seem to have a 1 year manufacturer warranty on them. I have not bought any phones from them. I've always purchased unlocked elsewhere when I buy a new phone. You can bring your own phone, providing it's unlocked and GSM, and you can check on their site to be sure it will work. They will also port your old number and it's done really fast.
They use AT&T's lines which I have no problem with, and I live in a small Podunk town now where cell towers are sorely lacking. I have never lost service with Pure TalkUSA, yet I have with AT&T on its own. Now that is weird. You can go to PureTalkUSA's website and see your records of minutes called and amount of texts and data for the month, as well the numbers called, etc which I did miss that the bigger Providers furnished. The only thing that Pure TalkUSA didn't offer was wifi. But I do use wifi for most of my data and when I have checked on Pure Talk's site it says I have used only a couple of MB in a month's time, so wifi with my data seems to be working fine for me. Of course, it's unlimited talk & text so it really doesn't matter if I use WiFi for that.
They also have a referral program where their customers can get $20.00 credited on their account for everyone they get to sign up, as well as the new person will also receive $20.00 off. So to me, it's a win-win situation. No contract to have to worry about either, and they have auto-pay (debit or credit) with $5.00 off compared with if you make one-time payments each month yourself. They also have multi-line discounts too. They don't over their service outside the USA so you have to do something else if you travel to another country, but you can call Internationally from the USA if you call them and get an International PIN from them.
Customers can visit their Support page, there are several FAQ's. I think that those who have had a problem, probably didn't read through the Support section to see what they DO offer and what they don't at this time. I am glad I found them, and hope their service stays great! (And NO I am not an employee or getting paid to say this. LOL) For a small company, I think they are doing very well, and pretty well offer almost the same or exceed the services the large mega providers do. I know I am sure tired of hearing people constantly complain about lousy service from other providers; and here is a place that still seems to put customer satisfaction first. Hard to find nowadays.

I like everything about Pure Talk except making me give up my family plan for two individual plans because I could not continue to use the website to adjust min. Not a real big deal, but still a little bothersome.

I've been very happy with Pure Talk in the past, except when I added a new line. Things got messed up. Unlimited, meant I had to call to reset after 500 min. I couldn't use my phone to make calls. The new phone I received needed to be reset in order to work with data. Then things changed, my line went to 500 mega bits data and the other line went to 1 gig data. They were both to be one gig data. Things almost always need work when starting out, but this experience could of went smoother. Hopefully no more ripples and I will be happy again!!

I was referred by a friend to PureTalk, have been using the service for almost 2 years now and I am very pleased. I have never had any problems with the service, or customer service. No contract, no issues, no dead spots so far, ever. I travel from SW Fl, to RI, GA, NC, and Ca. and have never had trouble with dead spots. The price is competitive and the service matches.

Pure Talk has been a great cell phone service provider for my father and myself for many years. From the start, I liked their no hidden fees plans. The low cost plans work for me and if I need more I can change easily. Never had a problem getting or losing a call. Pure Talk's the best.

Been with you for a while and very happy. Good customer service. Wish the data plans get a little better because everything at home is WiFi and home camera's. I tell a lot of people about you. Hope this helps.

At times when I travel the coverage is spotty or not at all. Cannot depend on the service in an emergency. The western part of the USA where I live is not the best place for Pure Talk service even if you stay along the interstate.

It is discouraging to try and contact customer service because I as the customer, I'm not a priority, they take too long to answer emails. There is not much of a choice when you're trying to upgrade a phone. The phones don't come with instructions
