I get an "unregistered number" response every time I try to call any of my banks (Discover, Wells Fargo, EECU, and Bank of America). My wife's phone (AT&T) calls the same numbers with no problems. Other than that, your service seems fine. My phone doesn't work inside the house, but it didn't work at home when I had AT&T either....
Greetings, Heath! We regret to hear that you are experiencing issues with making calls to your bank. We will be sure to have an agent reach out to you in order to further investigate this issue. In regard to not being able to make phone calls within your home, coverage may be impacted by local terrain or structures. Pure TalkUSA utilizes AT&T towers for coverage. We appreciate your feedback!

This is my personal experience and opinion: A failed trial SIM card, utterly uncaring, inflexible big corporation-type customer service, made our experience with PureTalkUSA an exercise in time-wasting frustration. We called for and received the PureTalkUSA trial SIM card but when we tried it, it did not work. The problem, said PureTalkUSA, was Verizon's. Thus began extended discussions with Verizon who said, not surprisingly, the problem was with PureTalkUSA.
On the advice of PureTalkUSA's customer service, we tried their SIM card again. It did not work. We emailed PureTalkUSA'S customer service department but the response was completely unhelpful: buy a plan. We explained that we were in a semi-rural area and wanted to make sure we had coverage from their service but all we got over and over was "buy a plan." When we tried again to explain this, we were blocked by PureTalkUSAs customer service. The veteran-owned company has spoken! We have no time for your puny problems! Sadly, this company, that pitches itself as something different from the big corporate behemoths, behaved in exactly the same way as the big, corporate behemoths. Hopefully, your experience won't be as frustrating, unhelpful and time consuming as ours but then again, maybe it will be.
Greetings, Robin! We regret to hear that this was your experience with Pure TalkUSA. We can assure you that providing optimal Customer Service is our top priority and sincerely apologize if this was not your experience. It sounds like your device may have been locked by Verizon's CDMA network, which would have made the device unable to operate on our GSM network. Again, we'd like to apologize for the experience you have had and hope you give us another try in the future. We appreciate your feedback!

When three of my devices were not working properly I called customer service. After waiting on hold 50-minutes (no kidding), i got a CS person who seemed in a bad mood at first. After some friendly chat she became personable. In this, my first call, I asked why my Internet was not working. She said it won’t recharge until the 16th and there was nothing she could do about it. I had 9 or 10 days before the 16th when I would go without Internet service (It was so slow. It was inoperable). I called back the next day and was told to reset my network preferences. I said we would be disconnected. She said she would call me right back in 2-minutes. It didn’t happen.
On the third call I was told my SIM card was in the wrong phone. I followed the SIM card installation very carefully, so I doubted this analysis. Nevertheless, I went ahead and paid another $10 for an upgrade. The second person was curt, perfunctory, but she did a very good job. She finally laughed at the end when I asked her to order me a Domino's Pizza. Not really pleased with the service or customer service thus far. I hope training is ongoing and some happiness is allowed.
We sincerely apologize if you have experienced anything other than optimal customer service, as this is something we take very seriously! After reviewing your account, we are happy to see that you are now able to access your data. We appreciate your feedback, BT.

Getting the phone was a little difficult. One, the "helper" on the phone wasn't sure of all the ins and outs. Then it wasn't clear that I wouldn't get the significant discount unless I signed up for massive data. Third, it said on the package that the sim card was already loaded, when it wasn't. Fourth, there were no directions for loading the sim card. (It was fairly difficult to open the little "drawer"). All that said, everyone on the phone that I spoke with were kind, helpful, and respectful. Also, despite the misleading website, I still feel I got a good deal. I am amazed that the phone works in places that I didn't have reception before. However, it didn't work in the White Mountains (Alpine AZ) when my friends' Verizon phones did. (I wasn't too worried about keeping in touch, so it didn't matter, but it might to others.)

I was sold a bill of goods. Promised coverage, a lot of data, and quick service. NONE of these promises was true. First, the service, My wife, and I sign up and then we find that Puretalk was offering a new phone. However, since we already signed up we could not get without canceling the new plan we already asked for. So we did that. The next day, we signed up again and got the new phone in another deal. 3 days later 2 new SIM cards arrived in the mail and 2 more days later a new phone and 2 more SIM cards arrive. Believing that the first set of SIM cards are no good, I proceed with the more recent SIM's I install them and the phones will not activate.
After a call to service, I find the SIM's from the first shipment is the active SIM's. Finally, after 5 days of no cell service, the phones are finally working. Fast forward a month, I notice that my data plan access is sporadic. I call service and they indicate that there are "grey" areas in the data plan coverage - even though none of these "grey" area show in the coverage map of northern Illinois. So I find out I am paying for a data plan that I cannot use. Puretalk solution - pay to unlock the new phone and switch carriers. The customer service is also excellent. I have had a really great experience every time I have talked with PureTalk USA customer service representatives. They have been super nice and helpful. The process of transferring over to PureTalkUSA from my previous cell phone provider did require some time and effort, but I was able to get all the help I needed by talking to PureTalk USA customer representatives on the phone.

I expected MVNOs to not be as fast as the Tier 1 network they subscribe to. I.e., AT&T MVNO service is typically not as good as with AT&T directly. However, I have found PureTalk to be every bit as fast as AT&T (using a relative's AT&T SIM for comparison in an iPhone 7). Not all AT&T MVNOs are equal. I had left PureTalk to go with a slightly cheaper MVNO and the signal strength and data speeds were significantly worse, so I returned to PureTalk.

I swapped from Verizon to PureTalk on June 8. I was assured my cell phone coverage would be identical OR better plus my cost would be less than Verizon. Cost is better, yes! Unfortunately, my cell reception is poorer than what I had with Verizon. My wife still maintains her cell on Verizon so it's very easy to compare PureTalk coverage to Verizon coverage. We have family in SW Virginia where cell tower coverage is negatively affected by the mountainous region. Nevertheless, her Verizon phone has active reception for 20 minutes longer than my PureTalk phone as we drive to her family's home. I wouldn't be as disappointed if my salesperson had been more forthcoming about the reduced reception.

As above, that is unacceptable on every level. L you wouldn't stand it for a second. The excuse your people gave for this is laughable and not credible. And you can't do anything about it. Had I known that I would be expected to put up with this I would have gone with another carrier. Does the agreement say that I might have caller ID with someone else's name? If I can't return the phone I'm gonna make it a centerpiece of Youtube video.
Per AT&T: "When an AT&T Reseller [Pure Talk] customer dials a landline phone, it will display as “Wireless Caller”, along with the calling party’s telephone number. This is not applicable to mobile-to-mobile calls. AT&T updates their [caller ID] database every night, which updates any activations/changes completed the previous day to ensure that accurate information is in the systems. If the values/caller ID is displaying incorrectly when calling a specific landline, the inquiry should be directed back to the landline service provider (by the landline customer) to request that the data be updated. If an incorrect value is displaying, it is because the landline customer is pulling the caller ID information from an old (cached or locally stored) database. AT&T is not responsible for correcting this, nor do they have any means to make this update."
We regret the frustrations you've experienced. We assure you that if we were able to correct the issue ourselves, it would have been resolved quickly. To recap briefly what AT&T stated, if the person you are calling is on a landline and your name is not showing up correctly, you would need your friend or family member to contact their landline service provider to request they update their caller ID system database. This will resolve the issue you've been experiencing.

I am simply responding to an email survey that was sent to me. The reason I chose neutral for my satisfaction level is as follows... Although I am very happy with the price and cost of my service, the service itself is definitely subpar to Verizon. It is certainly adequate, which is why I have stayed. Calls drop more often, coverage is not as good, connections times lag, texts take longer, etc. These issues are not detrimentally bad, but definitely noticeable. The commercials saying it is "the same" service as the big guys, is very misleading. I like that it is US based. The representatives are certainly friendly, however were lacking in technical ability/knowledge. I was mislead on multiple occasions about the visual voicemail feature. And little support was given to fix the issues. I will stay with Puretalk for now in hope that service will get better, and tech support becomes more better equipped to handle problems.
Greetings, Derek! Coverage may be impacted by local terrain and structures. We sincerely apologize if this has caused any inconvenience. It took a few phone calls to get my phone working properly and I had downloaded the right programs but the call wait time was longer than I would have liked. Our experience was not good, My fault or yours, not sure. We heard your advertisement on the Dave Ramsey show and thought it would be good to make the switch and wished we could have done so. We moved my wife's number first to make sure this was going to be an easy move. Got your sim card and found it would not transfer to our flip phones. Phones were too old. Went to Target, bought a phone, supposedly compatible with the PURETALK Sim card. It was ruined by the Target tech who attempted to insert the card. We brought the phone home, purchased another sim card, and put the card in properly, but it would not or could not find the Pure Talk signal. I called your tech and he and I tried to manually insert all the correct info the phone needed to connect with Puretalk.
The phone would not allow me to insert one detail and after trying to insert that detail for about 30 mins your tech and I gave up and I returned the phone to Target. I purchased another phone via Amazon with all the details your techs had given me, unloaded, 3 g or better, and something else I don't remember. The phone came in and in her eagerness to get the phone up and running, my wife attempted to insert the sim card. In the process the card was made a nano card which was too small for the phone. It did not work. We tried everything. We ordered another sim card. Upon receiving the sim card I correctly inserted the sim card. It would not or could not receive a signal. I again called your tech and they graciously attempted to help me through the whole process once again.
It did not work. In the process of inserting and removing the sim card many times, not only did I ruin the sim card but also, the phone. Your tech was coaching me through this process. I returned the phone to the phone company. Obviously the phone was not compatible. Once again I called your tech. She gave me the specs for a phone that would be compatible to Puretalk. I looked one up on Amazon, called your tech and she assured me it would be compatible. It was a ANS F30. I ordered a fourth sim card. By the way, we did not want a smart phone and you did not have a flip phone available for us to buy. It was going to be great! We finally had the right phone, were getting a new sim card and everything was finally going to fall together as it should.
The card came. The phone came. The card was properly inserted into the phone and your tech was called. We were told to turn it off, wait for 5 to 10 mins and when turned back on we would be officially in the Puretalk family. It did not work. No signal could be reached. WE GAVE UP and went back to US Cellular. The phone obviously was not compatible to Puretalk. We purchased and paid for 4 sim cards, 3 phones each we were assured would be compatible, were charged two months of service and not once did we ever use your service. My wife was without a phone for 3 months.
If I didn't know better, I would say you have a good racket going and you don't really have to provide service to anyone. Just charge them monthly, tell them which phone to buy, sell them sim cards and provide some of the kindest customer service we've had and say your sorry when it doesn't work and move on. Mad, not at all, disappointed yes, but we are over it. Would I recommend? Only if you were equipped to sell them a phone they wanted and was guaranteed to work. It would have been nice to have been reimbursed the money for the service we never used.
May God Bless,Leon and Jean **

I absolutely love the pricing. It is worth being on Puretalk. Why do I mean worth it? Two main things. I was originally on AT&T and have noticed a decrease in coverage, though I still live in the same area as before. I occasionally have no service when this never really happened on the AT&T plan. The other major issue is with contacting phones that are not iPhones. I have problems with group texts and sending GIFs. This may be a phone issue although I don't think it is. It started when I went to pure talk. Otherwise, I am very happy with PureTalk and would have recommended it to several people although no one has taken me up.
Greetings, Levi! We are happy to hear that you enjoy our pricing. If you are experiencing issues with sending group texts or MMS messages you may need to reset your network settings. I’m very happy with my Puretalk service, it’s been every bit as reliable with the coverage I need as those other ****talk guys, but without all the restrictions and expenses. I travel for work sometimes, and I can be away from home for a couple weeks at a time, which means I need my computer with me for various tasks, and I will never trust public or motel WiFi, so I end using my phone for internet functions, and it all turns into a big hassle if I don’t have a hotspot. Now my phone can be my hotspot as well, without the extra expense. The fact that Puretalk is veteran-owned and has domestic, rather than foreign tech support, sold me. I’m a veteran and was in telecom myself, so there’s some mutual respect that is evident. As long as they continue to deliver and don’t sell out, I’ll be there and invite others to join our team.

Factory reboot on my old iPhone 7 and turned it in to my former employer (which owned the phone). 4. New phone was not working correctly after set-up, so I called PureTalk and talked to 2 different people on 2 calls. They both said I need to call Apple or AT&T. 5. Called Apple and they indicated my phone was fine and I needed to call the service provider. 6. Called PureTalk again (3rd time) and the tech finally said all I needed to do was reset my network setting, and he was surprised no one had told me that. 7. The reset worked for the most part, however, many of my contacts were lost (not all).

My father and I had our service with the same company and plan. Several months ago it was decided that we would switch providers to PureTalk. The account was set up with auto pay via my father's visa card. Sadly my father passed away about 3 weeks ago. Due to this, his bank accounts were frozen and the auto payment failed. I got a message that my phone was pending disconnection so I notified my sister who had power of attorney and is the executor of my father's estate.
She paid the bill with her card and the following day I got the same pending disconnection message again. So I called (was on hold for 1hr 20m) and they stated that they have 2 different systems they process payments with. On one system it said the bill was never paid and on the other it said "pending". On my sister's transaction history it said "posted" meaning the payment had successfully been completed. The pure talk rep said give it another 24 hours and it should post on their end too. But it didn't and I got the same pending disconnect message again the following day.
So I called again (45m on hold) and was told they couldn't find record of the payment and that the bill was overdue. The individual I spoke with didn't seem to care to help and kept saying I needed to call back the following day. So, that's what I did (50 min on hold). The person I spoke to this time was a very good rep and did everything he could do within his power trying to figure out where the payment went. Although he did uncover previously unknown details such as they did have record of my sister's call and that she gave them a different card number, but he could not find the payment or the card number that was given.
It was near closing time for them and he explained that this issue was outside his privilege level and that anybody that did have the authorization or ability to further investigate had left for the day. He told me that he was scheduled to work the following day and said that before he even starts taking calls he was going to speak with his supervisor and explain the situation and have the supervisor call me. The rep did exactly what he promised the following day and he himself gave me a courtesy call when he realized it was taking longer than he expected for the supervisor to review the situation.
Again, this particular rep went above and beyond in my opinion, but unfortunately it was out of his hands (he was a pleasure to deal with). I didn't receive a return call from a supervisor until the following day who explained they had no record of the payment and that the balance due would remain that way until a new card was added to the account and payment was made. I refused to give any card number at this point as obviously they can't be trusted with it. I told him I would call back with another card.
At this point I told my sister to dispute the charge from puretalk with her credit card company as they obviously weren't going to acknowledge that they had indeed deducted the payment from her account. Proof of which could be given if they had asked for it. I told her I would get a prepaid visa gift card and use that for the payment and that I would be canceling the service and going to a different provider before the next bill cycle. I just didn't have the time to deal with switching providers at that moment due to the recent death of my father. Puretalk received payment but insisted they hadn't despite there being a paper trail. Bank statements show otherwise and that charge has already been disputed. This ridiculousness drew on for a week. The result is they lost a customer EARNED themselves a negative review. Their customer service is abysmal overall, with the one rep I mentioned being an exception. Say NO to PURETALK.

Great help. The techs worked with me until our service was 100% operating. They were also friendly, courteous. Knowledgeable and helpful. The coverage is comparable to the big guys. I have recommended Puretalk to others. It's a great service and the price is great. We cut our monthly bill in half.

What else is there to say? Great Deal, Great Service... I love Pure Talk. I was paying way too much for my basic phone service, now, I pay less for a full service plan... I couldn't be more pleased, my friends and family have benefited too. They have also been converted and now are happy with their phone plans at Pure Talk!
Thanks George! It's great to hear that your family has made the switch. Welcome to Pure Talk!

Pure Talk is the best phone service I've ever used. The customer service is excellent. The quality of calls is exceptional and I've had absolutely no dropped calls. I use my phone for personal and business calls and Pure Talk is the best service there is.
Greetings Frank! We are happy to hear that you are pleased with the service, as well as our Customer Service. Thank you for being a Pure Talk customer!

I have found the phone not to be user friendly, and calling the help line for Samsung I can not get the assistance I need since the agents don't seem to be familiar with that model. I almost always lose incoming calls and need to call the number back. I have considered another service or even returning to my original server even though the cost was a little higher but so far I will stay with Pure Talk a little longer to continue trying to learn this phone.
Greetings, Donald! We regret to hear of the difficulty that you've experienced operating your device. We realize learning how a new device operates can be a bit tricky. We will list a link below to a user manual for assistance.

I’m satisfied with my service, but at times my connection speed is slower than my previous provider. I also have an occasional problem automatically connecting to a wi-fi network. Also, I’d like to pay annually v. monthly. Please consider this option. Thanks.

Great price great product- I don't use a lot of data but if I did It's nice to know I wouldn't get charged hidden fees, it would just be slowed down a bit. I don't have any problem with service sound or dropped calls, That's about the size of it.
Thanks Lyn! We are happy to hear this. Thank you for being a Pure Talk customer!

Extremely disappointed in the coverage (lack of). I may have to drop it and go back to US Cellular. It almost like I don't have a cell phone. It would be difficult to recommend this to anyone. Calls constantly drop or many times there is absolutely no cell service.

I used to be a Verizon customer before switching to Pure Talk after hearing Dave Ramsey mention it on his podcast and I absolutely love it. It has the same great service that Verizon does and a little over half of the cost, and I got to keep my phone! Thank you for being such a great company.
It's our pleasure, Christopher! We are happy to hear this. Welcome to Pure Talk!

When I was traveling across the country AZ to Iowa I had poor service or no service. The customer reps are great but I was disappointed with the coverage. I was not able to get the internet for my mapquest and it was stressful wondering if I was going the right direction.

I'm very happy with Pure Talk. They have good service and same coverage area as AT&T. I left AT&T after many years because I wanted to support our veterans and not support the causes AT&T is involved in especially planned parenthood. I travel cross country and need good coverage. So far it's the same as AT&T.

So far everything has been great. It was fairly easy to convert over, keeping my same number. Price is also great. I would, and have recommended this phone service to others. I also know that 3 people have converted over due to my recommendation.

I recently took a short trip to California. I had no service on the way to California for most of the trip and I was not able to get service at our destination. Our destination was Oceanside, CA just south of Camp Pendleton Marine Base. My phone service returned when we returned to Mesa, Arizona.
Greetings John! We regret to hear that you experienced issues with your coverage. Coverage may be impacted by local terrain or structures. We are happy to hear that you now have service. Thanks for being a Pure Talk customer!

Only complaint is voicemail setup, need to call the voicemail instead of being able to view like previously with ATT. Why doesn’t the numbers and transcripts come up on voicemail like with other carriers? Other than that happy with service.
Greetings Josh! We see that you are using an iPhone 8 Plus, which is compatible with the Visual Voicemail feature. This way, you may easily check voicemail without making any phone calls. You may also view a list of messages in an inbox-like interface, listen to them in any order, and can delete them as desired. This feature is now automatically added for iPhone 6 users and above. We have added this feature to both lines on your account, if it is not showing up already, please restart your device and it will appear in your phone app!

After ensuring volume is at maximum and setting up voicemail with Pure Talk, calls are still impossible to hear and I do not get any voicemails. Calls take forever to go through also. Overall the quality is very low compared to Verizon and I am very unhappy.
Greetings Lawrence! We regret to hear this. We sincerely apologize if you have experienced a long wait time, as we are experiencing unusually high call volumes and are working to rectify this as quickly as possible. My cell cannot receive or send pictures in the texting app. I have tried everything I can find online to try to remedy the problem. But nothing helps. I can receive and send texts no problem but the pics just saying "downloading" but never does. Then when I call Pure Talk, they say it is not the network, they blame it on the phone. So I bought another phone. Same problem. Hope whoever reads this, forwards it to some engineer to find a solution.

PureTalk is an affordable and high quality alternative to other overpriced cell phone companies out there. You're able to keep your number and are not required to 'upgrade' your phones if you don't want to. Switching was a painless and easy process and our only regret is that we didn't know about them earlier!
Thanks, Susan! We are happy to hear this. You may bring your own device as long as it is fully unlocked, 3G or higher, and compatible with the GSM network!
