From Verizon to AT&T, and now to PureTalk, I don't see where PureTalk's service is worth less than the others - but it's a lot easier to afford! Easy to manage, upgrade monthly minutes and data allowance, as needed.
Greetings, Bruce! We are happy to hear that you made the switch! Welcome to Pure Talk!

My credit card expired. I got text saying to call 611 to update. On hold for 10 minutes. Hung up. Sent text back..."if you want me to call, have someone to answer." Got same text again. Called again. Was on hold for over 9 min. Went online and changed cc exp. date and cvv. Got another threatening text. Called 611 again. After 5 minutes got a rep. Gave her same cc # . She said it wasn't accepted. I asked her to reenter it. Put me on hold for several minutes and of course it went through. This was the same rep I talked with when I was unable to send or receive group messages...a problem that I spent literally hours on phone with your techs trying to fix. Kevin at last was able to fix that. I still have spotty connection service where I live. So...what do I think of your customer service?. TERRIBLE!

Ever since I updated my phone it has been slow and the data plan is weak. I have to get on Wifi to update my mail (and some apps) or receive some text messages within a group text. I am canceling my account with Pure Talk USA. I just couldn’t seem to achieve the level of satisfaction that I was led to believe I was going to receive. Maybe it wasn’t your fault. Maybe I expected too much. The internet was extremely slow! Maybe it was my iPhone 5 that was the problem. But if that was the problem, I should have been told this before I purchased the service. My re-charge date is July 21st, and I will not be paying the amount due. Please don’t try to charge my account. Maybe in the future we can do business again, but not until after I cool down.

I absolutely love the pricing. It is worth being on Puretalk. Why do I mean worth it? Two main things. I was originally on AT&T and have noticed a decrease in coverage, though I still live in the same area as before. I occasionally have no service when this never really happened on the AT&T plan. The other major issue is with contacting phones that are not iPhones. I have problems with group texts and sending GIFs. This may be a phone issue although I don't think it is. It started when I went to pure talk. Otherwise, I am very happy with PureTalk and would have recommended it to several people although no one has taken me up.

I’m very happy with my Puretalk service, it’s been every bit as reliable with the coverage I need as those other ****talk guys, but without all the restrictions and expenses. I travel for work sometimes, and I can be away from home for a couple weeks at a time, which means I need my computer with me for various tasks, and I will never trust public or motel WiFi, so I end using my phone for internet functions, and it all turns into a big hassle if I don’t have a hotspot. Now my phone can be my hotspot as well, without the extra expense. The fact that Puretalk is veteran-owned and has domestic, rather than foreign tech support, sold me. I’m a veteran and was in telecom myself, so there’s some mutual respect that is evident. As long as they continue to deliver and don’t sell out, I’ll be there and invite others to join our team.

Factory reboot on my old iPhone 7 and turned it in to my former employer (which owned the phone). 4. New phone was not working correctly after set-up, so I called PureTalk and talked to 2 different people on 2 calls. They both said I need to call Apple or AT&T. 5. Called Apple and they indicated my phone was fine and I needed to call the service provider. 6. Called PureTalk again (3rd time) and the tech finally said all I needed to do was reset my network setting, and he was surprised no one had told me that. 7. My father and I had our service with the same company and plan. Several months ago it was decided that we would switch providers to PureTalk. The account was set up with auto pay via my father's visa card. Sadly my father passed away about 3 weeks ago. Due to this, his bank accounts were frozen and the auto payment failed. I got a message that my phone was pending disconnection so I notified my sister who had power of attorney and is the executor of my father's estate.
She paid the bill with her card and the following day I got the same pending disconnection message again. So I called (was on hold for 1hr 20m) and they stated that they have 2 different systems they process payments with. On one system it said the bill was never paid and on the other it said "pending". On my sister's transaction history it said "posted" meaning the payment had successfully been completed. The pure talk rep said give it another 24 hours and it should post on their end too. But it didn't and I got the same pending disconnect message again the following day.
So I called again (45m on hold) and was told they couldn't find record of the payment and that the bill was overdue. The individual I spoke with didn't seem to care to help and kept saying I needed to call back the following day. So, that's what I did (50 min on hold). The person I spoke to this time was a very good rep and did everything he could do within his power trying to figure out where the payment went. Although he did uncover previously unknown details such as they did have record of my sister's call and that she gave them a different card number, but he could not find the payment or the card number that was given.
It was near closing time for them and he explained that this issue was outside his privilege level and that anybody that did have the authorization or ability to further investigate had left for the day. He told me that he was scheduled to work the following day and said that before he even starts taking calls he was going to speak with his supervisor and explain the situation and have the supervisor call me. The rep did exactly what he promised the following day and he himself gave me a courtesy call when he realized it was taking longer than he expected for the supervisor to review the situation.
Again, this particular rep went above and beyond in my opinion, but unfortunately it was out of his hands (he was a pleasure to deal with). I didn't receive a return call from a supervisor until the following day who explained they had no record of the payment and that the balance due would remain that way until a new card was added to the account and payment was made. I refused to give any card number at this point as obviously they can't be trusted with it. I told him I would call back with another card.
At this point I told my sister to dispute the charge from puretalk with her credit card company as they obviously weren't going to acknowledge that they had indeed deducted the payment from her account. Proof of which could be given if they had asked for it. I told her I would get a prepaid visa gift card and use that for the payment and that I would be canceling the service and going to a different provider before the next bill cycle. I just didn't have the time to deal with switching providers at that moment due to the recent death of my father. Puretalk received payment but insisted they hadn't despite there being a paper trail. Bank statements show otherwise and that charge has already been disputed. This ridiculousness drew on for a week. The result is they lost a customer EARNED themselves a negative review. Their customer service is abysmal overall, with the one rep I mentioned being an exception. Say NO to PURETALK.

No matter what button I pushed it did absolutely nothing and every time it was fully charged When I had to use my home phone to call you, the first person I talked to cut me off and I had to redial yet again. The second person did help me but it had nothing to do with fixing the problem so I closed my account. I had better not be charged my monthly payment ever again!.

The pricing is incredible, so it makes up for the above okay service. I often have low service bars, and sometimes it feels like data loads slowly, but then again it can also be pretty fast. However, for the price I'm paying especially for the number of gigabytes that I'm getting, I'm pretty happy about PureTalk!

We had no concerns with our PureTalk experience, till we traveled recently to another State where during our travels we frequently were signaled “No Service”, whereas with our past provider, that very rarely happened...even in the hills. Once we passed a cell tower and still had “no service”. Confusing indeed, but still mostly happy. Being off the grid is a little concerning, especially in the possible event of car trouble or accident. Not sure what we’d do then...
Greetings Lillian! We regret to hear that this has happened. If this happens again, we recommend to restart your device, as your device may have had trouble connecting to a cell tower. Because my wife's phone was stolen and she needed a replacement right away I called customer service early yesterday (around 8:30 a.m.) and purchased a new phone. The rep assured me the order was placed, and I received the confirmation email while I was still on the call with her. She told it would be shipped yesterday via FedEx 2 day delivery. When I checked this morning it still had not been shipped! Even if it goes out today she won't get it until Friday at the earliest and then it still has to be activated. I could have gotten this kind of lousy service without even calling early and talking to a live person!

Cannot complain about the cell talk and text as well as internet service, first rate. I am very disappointed to the point of leaving PureTalk for the lack of explanation for not allowing my Samsung S9 Plus to be used as a hotspot. For some un-known reason, kept under lock and key, more secretive than Skunk works in Burbank California, not one person can tell me why a fairly new (1 year old) Samsung s9plus cannot be used as a hotspot..as though I have the only one in the World.. Major major disappointment, one of the options I was given was to buy or use an old phone and get a second number with a phone that can be used as a hotspot.
Greetings Christopher! We regret to hear that the hotspot feature did not work out for you. The hotspot feature is only guaranteed to work on iPhone's 6S or above. I love the option of cellphone service from American Seniors Association. I have enjoyed strong signal strength most of the time and so for a small cell company I feel that that is good and is very adequate for my and my wife's needs. There are times though when we text, especially with pictures that they do not go through. We turn off the phone and try again and they usually go through. As far as the cost goes again I am very satisfied with the cost, but it could be more competitive.
Overall we are a very satisfied customer, but what would make my rating a 5 star rating is 1. Better coverage, stronger signal, and 2. and this is probably the biggest, less money. I despise AARP's politics so because we are retired and will not have anything to do with them, I wish you would compete with them, (AARP). They seem to get the best of all deals and I wish that ASA and Pure Talk would at least match their $20.00 per month plan. Again I am very satisfied with Pure Talk less what I mentioned.

My wife and I purchased two phones with hotspot capability and unlimited data plans to use the hotspots. After discovering that the hotspots didn't work, I called and was told that they would be activated. A week later, I was able to connect devices to the hotspot but unable to access the internet. I called tech support and was told that the hotspot was only guaranteed to work with iPhones. Had I known, I would have bought an iPhone. I understand that Pure Talk is a reseller of AT&T, but at no point was I informed the desired feature would not work on my phone, nor is that information available on any of Pure Talk's published material. This violates the business concept of warranty of merchantability. I was was provided a product that did not work for its intended purpose.
After a half hour on the phone with a fairly rude service representative, I was told there was nothing that could be done. After waiting another half hour to talk to a manager who once again attempted to give me the run around, I was told that I could get one month credit on my account (approximately $100), return the phones I paid $400 for, and turn around and buy the new phones for around $400. It seems I am losing several hundred dollars just for the "pleasure" of doing business with Pure Talk. No thanks. It may be advantageous for me to cut my losses, take my business elsewhere, and tell as many people as I can to ensure no one else has such a negative experience. Thank you for the opportunity to express my concerns, although I doubt any attempt will be made to remedy the situation.
Greetings Aaron! We regret to hear this, we sincerely apologize if you were unaware and uninformed that only the iPhone 6S or above was guaranteed for the hotspot feature. I called tech support and was connected to Kevin who was the most patient person I think I have ever encountered. He went through the settings step by step. After almost 2 hours, the phone still didn't work, he thought it may be a sim card problem. He emailed the set up instructions and ordered a new sim card. He was pleasant and courteous throughout the complete phone call, When it arrived, I called customer service and spoke with Madison who was very pleasant and activated the new card. I now have cell service for the first time in a month. I just need my sister to visit and enter all of my contact phone numbers. And although my wife has the same exact model phone, her settings were different than mine after the switch-over! You should email correct settings so people can check them!! Was ready to just go on to T-Mobile, but finally got set up correctly, I guess. I'll see how the coverage goes. May switch, if it gets worse.

If I could rate a 3.5 I would. The price is the best part of Pure Talk and definitely its biggest selling factor. The recent increase in data without an increase in price was also a great surprise. Call quality and customer service leave something to be desired. Specifically the biggest problem is IT issues. Texts and multimedia messages won't send sometimes and IT support does not appear to be very knowledgeable.

Greetings, James! We are sorry to hear of the issues that you experienced while utilizing Pure Talk’s service. Pure Talk now offers even more high-speed data for that plan at the same low price (now 30 GB and much higher than other carriers, including AT&T). However once you use all of your high-speed data, you would still have access to data, but the data speed is reduced until your plan renews. Overcharged to change my plan. I had already paid for an unlimited plan for June. Situation was to change that I wasn't going to need that much so decreased my plan around the 25th, a few days later that situation changed again so I moved back to the unlimited and was charged the "difference to upgrade" when I had already paid for the unlimited so figured I'd see a credit once the system caught up, nope I was charged the difference to upgrade to a plan I had already paid for and billed the full amount this month.
Greetings, Judi! We are sorry to hear that you were charged twice for upgrading your plan within the same month. We’d like to offer some insight as to how this happened. During your billing cycle, you may upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. If you choose to upgrade your plan in the middle of the billing cycle, you will be charged the difference in price for the plan upgrade. You would also have the option to schedule your plan to change on your next billing date. For this option, you would not pay to upgrade and your upgrade would not take place until your next billing date. If you decide to downgrade, you would have the option to downgrade immediately or have it take place on your next bill date. If you choose to downgrade your plan immediately, it will automatically downgrade your plan. If in the same month, you decide to upgrade your plan again, the system would charge you to do so. We would like to offer our apologies if this was unclear. We want to resolve this issue for you, we are sending you a private message.

One such region STILL is a dead spot in northern lower Michigan where recently I was for a family funeral that has no signal. Greetings, David! We regret to hear of the issues that you are experiencing with coverage. Limited coverage in the area could be the cause of your cellular data speed being slower than normal.

We have been so pleased with our service at Pure Talk. We were frustrated with our previous phone company and it was so expensive. We heard about Pure Talk on the Dave Ramsey show and decided to give it a try after months of frustration with two other companies. The reception has been excellent and our bill was nearly cut in half with the switch. Billing is simple, adding new lines is simple, and there are discounts available for both. We are so satisfied!
Hi there, April! We are excited to hear that you love your Pure Talk service! Thank you for a great review!

I have enjoyed the candor of the staff at Pure Talk USA. Very admirable people. The bonus offers that I have been given have really helped me out a lot. Thank you. I hope to continue using Pure Talk for a long time to come.
Hi Curtis! We are very happy to hear that you are enjoying your Pure Talk service, as well as our customer service team! We look forward to continue serving your cell service needs for many years to come!

For the first time in several years I now have to dial a number for voice mail. I sure wish it could come directly to my phone. Once I get past this inconvenience, the rest of my service is wonderful.

However, we cannot guarantee it to work on Android devices. If you have an iPhone model 6 or above and are having issues with visual voicemail, you may reach us at 1-877-820-7873.

When we reach out multiple times for help there was no help or service. From the start no pictures would send, phone shuts off randomly, photos randomly delete, bad audio, plug in for charger was broken when I got it.
Greetings, Sandi! We’re sorry to hear of the issues that you are experiencing with your device. Regarding your device not sending pictures, we would need to troubleshoot further to determine the issue. The device shutting off randomly and pictures deleting while the phone has enough storage to store them, could be a device issue. Pure Talk offers a 14-day device return period. If the device is defective within the time frame, it can be returned for a refund or replacement. After review, we see that the device is no longer under the device return period for Pure Talk. However, your device may still be covered under the 1-year manufacturer warranty. You may reach out to the manufacturer and explain the issues that you are having. If the manufacturer deems the device defective, they will proceed from there. We want to assist you in getting this resolved ASAP. We will have someone reach out to assist you. We are sending you a private message to find out a time that works for you.

I’ve been using Pure Talk for about a year now, and I have had great service with minimal connection issues. I don’t use much data so my $35/month plan works super well for me. My data amount was automatically upped 2 times already! They really reward customer loyalty, unlike other service providers who focus on getting in new customers.
Hi, Carter! Thank you for your awesome review! We look forward to continuing to provide you with great cell phone service!

Phone won't even call when I have wifi in a motel because even though I am in a small town, there is NO cellular coverage. Therefore, I cannot use my phone to make a call. This happens all over the place whenever I am travelling. Whatever cell service it is AT&T or whatever network you use, I experience unbelievably slow service. If I can use the phone at all. With or without wifi. Without wifi? Most of the time forget it because there is such poor coverage.
Greetings, Joel! We are sorry to hear of the issues that you have been experiencing with your coverage. Pure Talk does support the Wi-Fi calling feature. However, some devices do not support Wi-Fi calling and we cannot guarantee it for Android devices and iPhone models 6 and below.

I travel to many rural places. It seems that people with Verizon accounts have coverage in rural places when I don't. I thought that I was on the Verizon network so I don't understand how this can be. I cannot use my phone in my house on some days and other days I can. For the positive your price is great and I love that I can hotspot.
Hi Paul! We’re glad that you are loving your hotspot and Pure Talk’s great prices! We’re also sorry to hear of the coverage issues that you are experiencing in rural areas. Pure Talk runs on the nation’s largest GSM network, which is AT&T’s network. We do not utilize the Verizon service towers.

We have had a couple of problems, I understand they are created by AT&T. However your service people are very friendly and helpful, so much better than the people at AT&T. They always sounded like it was a real bother to help! Your prices are so much better. I have been telling my friends about you since we signed up.
Hey there, Kristeen! Thanks for your review! We’re happy to hear that you are enjoying Pure Talk service!

I am more than happy with Pure Talk. I do have issues at times, but I am told it is because so many are on the lines. Others have trouble with their phones and they are with other companies. I like the company because the one who owns it is a veteran, one of the reasons I switched.
Hi Nancy! Thank you for your review! Many people using service at once should not influence your service. If you experience any issues, please give us a call so that we can troubleshoot any issue you may have. You may reach us at 1-877-820-7873.

I live in rule America and getting service is spotty at best. I am a caregiver and when at many of my family homes I can't get service at all, I am not sure if I will be staying with Pure Talk or not. I need better service.
Hi Linda! We are sorry to hear that coverage is limited in your area. In rural areas, if you are surrounded by many obstructions, such as hills and trees, this may interfere with your signal.
