I was told I would have the same amount of data, text, and talk as I had with AT&T. This turned out to be untrue. Then, when I tried to go back to AT&T, I was told I wouldn't be allowed to port my phone number back over because Pure Talk is in the same system as AT&T. After many days of hassling, I finally did get it accomplished. I am VERY disappointed.

I was a 20 yr customer of Verizon that needed to upgrade my iPhone 7. I had decided on the iPhone 11 instead of the 12 series to just save some money. I checked my Verizon deals and even spoke with a rep but wasn’t impressed with the offers they were giving, especially being a 20 yr customer. I heard about PureTalk on the Mark Levin podcast and checked it out. I was really happy with the deal I found but still nervous about going to a new carrier. Ultimately I kicked Verizon to the curb and couldn’t be any happier with my service. I saved $300 on my new phone, got 15gb more a month on my plan that costs less. Read that again, I’m paying less a month for more gb and have just as good wireless service. If you're on the fence don’t be scared! I personally couldn’t be happier since switching to PureTalk.

My wife informed me she could no longer send images to me on SMS, and I discovered I could not send them out. Called support, and after waiting 30 minutes to get to a human, the guy said he needed to update my phone. Funny, because I didn't have any trouble with images for the last year. He updates it, they work... for a week. I call back, get a girl, and she says she sees an issue in my account, and promises I won't experience this again. I restart, images work... for a week. I call back, again waiting about 25 minutes for a human to pickup. He assured me the others didn't do their job and didn't fix it the right way, that he will fix it permanently. He says I need to restart, so we hang up, I restart, and now no images and no internet on my data plan. Yeah he fixed it up real nice. I called back and sat with the repetitive annoying hold song for 1 hour 4 minutes, and I'm out. Peace out Pure Talk, this is not worth the savings.

Received the new SIM cards quickly. The changeover process was very easy to handle for both of our phones (iPhone and flip-phone). The monthly service cost for two phones is quite reasonable (less than I was paying before). The only problem that I have (with the iPhone) is that I lost the 5G capability that I had with the previous big-name carrier. After several attempts (following Customer Service directions) I still do not have access. I was then told that it was likely my phone (iPhone XR) that was the problem! Not sure that’s the case since I had access to 5G previously.

I’m switching to a more reliable service as soon as I can. We switched 2 phones from AT&T. Our PT installation started off by telling me to install the wrong SIM card in the primary phone. It was resolved by switching SIM cards on PT end. Next my husband’s phone ran out of data. I called repeatedly asking if I hadn’t purchased enough. After several calls to the tech department someone told me “He needs more data.” Wow! Then we realized we didn’t have digital voicemail. I called and added that, with a charge. It worked for a couple weeks, until my husband’s didn’t work. Called and took care of that- presently working.
Then one day I got up, tried to use my internet and it down. This lasted all day and into the evening. Called about that. Every morning when I first start using my phone the internet spins and spins. I don’t have that many messages to load. One bright spot- Call quality has been ok and everyone that has tried to help me has been very helpful. Only one person was rude to me, a person from tech when I was trying to figure out my husband’s slow data problem. So overall it has not been a seamless transition to PT.

I have called multiple times to get my plan fixed. Each time I have waited on hold for over 1 hour before speaking with anyone. In the end, my plan has still not been fixed. I ordered 2 new phones when I transferred to PureTalk. The new phones were to be applied to phone numbers ** and ** with 20gb data. The other two lines were to be placed on the two existing iPhones we already had with only 6gb data. I was given a monthly rate of around $120. For no reason at all I am being charged for 20gb data for phone line ** and my bill is over $140. Every time I call, I am told that a work ticket has been placed to fix this and it remains. I expect this to be fixed within the next 30 days or we are going to change back to Verizon. I also expect a credit for the difference for each month that I have been overbilled. You need more people answering phone calls and you need customer service reps that actually fix the issues. Sharlin **

I signed up for Pure Talk and I received some messages I did not recognize. Thinking they were welcome to Pure Talk messages, I clicked on them. My son was beside me and we opened up some bad images. I called to change my number and I was told it would cost me an additional $10.00 to change my number. I was fine with the number pattern, it was unsolicited content that was coming my way from the number you assigned me. Bad customer service! I hadn't had my number for more than a few days. Also, neither me nor my husband can hear the call unless it is on speaker phone. We have completely different phones and they are not old.

I had a hard time getting connected to my Pure Talk account and getting it to work properly. I had to call several times and wait wait for an operator to help me for interminable amounts of time each time! I had 3 lines. I was working with 2 to move from Verizon to pure talk. Then when and when pure talk was obviously not going to work, I switched it back to Verizon, one phone line at a time. It usually was close to an hour wait at the very minimum, and one time was actually 3 hours and 50 minutes Waiting time to talk to a customer service Representative! That is NOT what I consider customer service or a company that I would would even consider working with, much less paying for what you call service!
When I changed it over one line at a time back to Verizon, Pure talk could not even do that right! Pure talk would would do it it halfway so that No one could call in in to our number, but yet we could call out, and we could not access any type of phone messages! It was a huge mess! A terrible terrible experience! I had to go into the Verizon store each time, for each line that was changed back over to Verizon, so that the Verizon people could talk with the porting service at pure talk and get it working properly again!
This was such a horrendous experience that I am now telling a telling everyone I know to not use pure talk! The best thing I can say about pure talk Is that every single representative I spoke with was very kind and sweet sweet and good to talk to... That is once I got through to them after after an average of 1 to 1 and a 1/2 hours of wait time!! I lost out on probably a day and a 1/2 to 2 days of my life trying to make this work. What a waste of time!

The plan doesn’t work for someone like in sales and travels. It ate through all my data in like one or two days so that I couldn’t even watch a video on Facebook. I tried it because they use AT&T cell towers. They were worse than AT&T and I think they are terrible. Phone waiting of 90 minutes. Fastest transfer to someone else was over 30 minutes waiting time. If you have problems be prepared for hours of waiting.

When you check out they didn’t give you the option of having a billing address and a different shipping address. So in order to receive the phone to the proper address I had to speak to a representative shortly after purchasing said phone.
A few days later I get an email saying I needed a photo ID. Which in I responded with my drivers license to that email. The next day I get another call saying they haven’t received it and it’s still on hold from being processed. The representative eventually found my response to that email with my drivers license. She explained that any purchase over $200 requires a photo ID. I told her they need to include a attachment box when you check out in order to avoid the additional frustration and delay in receiving the phone. They should also include a section where you can have a different billing person shipping address.

I hear a lot of ads for Pure Talk. "The same as ATT, less money, etc". My wife Carol and I each have our own pure talk plans and new att phones. Our phone service has never been worse with pure talk. We switched and bought new phones based on pure talk ads. We went to the local att store with questions/issues and the rep there said regular att customers get the best service, next their prepaid customers and at the bottom of the list companies such as pure talk get what's left regarding service. You can see how misleading the pure talk ads are based on this. We cannot even make viable phone calls from our lower level. We live just 8 miles from a main major Madison, WI (the capitol city) shopping mall. Ridiculous!
I called pure talk a few times on it and I said pure talk was the worst service I've had over the years yet and described our issues. The operator said, "hmmm, the last 2 callers said the service was great"! I asked her if she knew of any remedies. All she offered was to tell me to find the best place in my home to make calls. We have not been on a trip of any consequence since this new pure talk plans were started to check service elsewhere except we have a cabin in the Northwoods. Phone service there has been poor and I had high hopes pure talk/att would be better there. It's not, it's worse also. I'd LOVE to hear from pure talk on this!! Does pure talk really care about my issues?? If you do, I'd like a follow up dialogue.

Tried customer service multiple times and they promised a call back from a manager, which never came. I feel I should be able to return this phone and start over with an Android phone that has a functional hotspot.

Your sound quality is good. No dropped calls but being throttled down rendered my phone pretty much useless. You should give a discount for Uber/Lyft drivers since they use so much data. How about $45.00 for unlimited data? Also you should get better up to date when I look at my plan. You're 3 days behind. Somebody trying to ration their data so they don't run out has no idea how many GB they have left. They have to guess.
Hi there, Michael! We regret to hear about the experience you have had with Pure Talk thus far. Once you reach your allotted amount of high-speed data, the speed does throttle down to 128 kbps. When I signed up I was assured that PureTalk, using ATT carrier service, was able to give me good coverage for talk and text. My experience has been far, far less than the assurances given. My wife and I just returned from a trip through upper Michigan, MN, into North Dakota, through South Dakota, Iowa, Illinois and back to Indiana and coverage was spotty, often non-existent, much to our frustration of not being able to send or receive messages. My question is this: PureTalk can say they have ATT carrier service but do they have contracts with all the service areas--from my experience, I don't believe they do, thus leading me to think that the hype is greatly over-stated.

I never leave reviews on companies and to know I did it had to be really bad! It's hard to even give them a 1 star rating. If you are thinking of switching phone service to Pure Talk don't waste your time. Our phones worked great the 1st month and after that they began to not work at all. Text messages will not go through, no data service at all, and no help from customer support. All we are able to use our phones for is basic phone service voice calls only. It will allow me to make a call while away from home but that's about it.
To follow up - I called customer service this evening (Pure Talk pull your phone recordings from 8/26/21 7:24pm EST because I would LOVE for you to hear how your customer service reps talk to your customers) and dealt with the most unprofessional customer service rep ever. Feel free to contact me directly and I will report his name. He was no help, took him 5 times of asking my phone number to pull the account up, and was so rude I finally had to hang up because I had asked for someone to help me besides him and he refused. He was literally screaming and yelling at me, their customer, on the phone. I have never been talked to the way I was by him.
I am at the point after dealing with no customer service support to help with our phone issues and the unprofessional employees they have working for them switching my phone service. I will never support a company that treats their customers the way they do. I am sorry to think I gave them the money for the few months of service we've had.

And last but not least, my voicemail has yet to work, after all this time and after talking with seven (7) different people at Pure Talk.

I've been very pleased with my cell signal and how well the service works. My only complaint is texting seems to be delayed a little. Sometimes it's only a few seconds to several minutes. Example: I get a text every time my house alarm is activated or disabled. Since I have changed to PureTalk there is a delay of up to 3 minutes before I get that text. Other than that I've had no problems or complaints.

I didn’t have this problem with Verizon so I think I will be switching back. Customer service is really nice but when it’s a frequent call it’s very frustrating.

I get the impression that ATT sees you as a bastard child trying to get treated the same as they treat themselves. And they're not having it.
