Both of our phones had technical problems...VERY long wait times to speak with customer support...Customer support personnel did not seem knowledgeable at all...Took several weeks to get problems ironed out (could not receive MMS, log onto wifi, etc.) before I was finally able to talk to someone who knew what they were doing...

I signed up for unlimited data, but find that some days, I have no data at all. It’s totally random, like the power lines are just down. And because iPhones use iMessage, that means I can’t send and receive messages away from home. Extremely frustrating! My second day with PureTalk was one of those “no-data days”. I called and they told me it was down for everyone and that this never happens. Yet it’s happed at least twice since then. And I’ve only been a customer for a couple months!

Our cell service has not been great. Without a doubt more issues than when we just had ATT. My calls drop more often and me and my wife often have trouble getting texts to go through. The worst has been the data. Clearly slower than previous provider… but we’ve also had two days where there was a data outage just in the last couple of months. Both days happened to be days we were traveling and since our GPS on our phones wouldn’t work due to data outage we had to stop and ask directions multiple times. We’ve decided to keep the service simply due to the lower cost… but the cell/data service has been pretty disappointing for us.

I had to call to find out why my insurance would not start until 10/22/21. I started my phone service on 8/22/21. I understand a 30 day wait period but not a 60 day wait period. I was instructed via email what steps I needed to do on my phone to get it to work and when completed, it now works fine. I am happy with the service now, and I do appreciate the monthly savings. You do need to improve customer service options to be able to talk with a live person.

New to Puretalk and got a new phone also. The only thing I do not, like is my phone goes to voice mail, never rings so I miss calls all the time. Very frustrating. I wish I could make the phone ring. It does work occasional. If my husband calls it always goes thru. My brother from Arizona, always goes to voice mail as does other friends. I also do not get notification when I get a text. This is frustrating also. Kind of makes me wonder why. Maybe I should not have changed carriers and also have trouble getting wifi anywhere but home. Never had that problem before.

Early April 2021 I began researching to change over to a new cell phone provider and also made the decision to toss my iPhone 7 and jump into a controversial android device. And until yesterday, when I finally gave in and called PureTalk and was connected to a very helpful and knowledgeable customer support rep, I was ready to admit that I had made a big mistake by going with the android, The reason for the "one star", dissatisfied rating in this memo, is until yesterday, when Sidney, your very informative rep, solved a MMS text and photo sending issue and also relieved my anxiety by convincing me that I had a perfectly compatible device in the Samsung Galaxy A52 that I had purchased in May 2021.
On May 5, 2021, I purchased the PureTalk Unlimited Talk & Text + 4GB + Sim Pack. Admittedly, I went thru quite a learning curve in the changeover from IOS to android. After about a month of doing my own troubleshooting, I had most problems solved with the exception of two. 1.) I wear bluetooth hearing devices that I had trouble pairing, 2.) My greatest disappointment was the inability to send and receive large SMS (MMS) texts and photos.
But the primary purpose of this "disappointing review" is the messages that I have been receiving from PureTalk that my brand new Samsung A52 phone was NOT COMPATIBLE with your network after February 2022. THAT IS A TOTALLY UNTRUE STATEMENT. I purchased the phone as a VoLTE 4G, 5G device and your rep confirmed that in our conversation. I would think that it is very dangerous territory when you are telling your customers to "upgrade" to another phone for maintaining compatibility when in fact it is not necessary. You could not only lose the confidence of your customers, but possibly be setting yourself up for a class action lawsuit. I was told by your rep that you sent the message out to ALL customers. NOT A VERY SMART IDEA,.
Greetings, Keith! We want to express our sincerest apologies for any recurrent automated text messages. This alert notifies customers of any upcoming changes. As of February 2022, we will no longer support 3G devices. At this time, customers with 3G devices will need to upgrade to a device that is 4G or higher, fully unlocked, and GSM compatible. I have been a customer of Puretalk for two months now and as of month one's finish, have been looking for another mobile company to do business with. We left AT&T due to bad customer service that I was tired of. Puretalk managed to be 100 times worse. In our short time with you I have experienced 20 to 30 minute holds every time I called for help with my service. I have had to call almost weekly to fix major issues with my service not working. Your customer service representatives are some of the rudest most unprofessional people I have ever dealt with.
Puretalk, honestly, as a professional business, ought to be ashamed and embarrassed by the blatant lack of professional conduct, or even educated appearance that you display. We are switching to Verizon this week. They warned us of the nightmare that it is to port from Puretalk. With that and everything else we are so looking forward to being done with Puretalk. Of course we have been vigilantly warning everyone we know what a terrible experience we have had and to stay far away from a company that I am sure must be run by individuals with less than a decent high school education.

Overall, we are happy with Pure Talk. The service has been reliable, no dropped calls, strong signals where we need it. The biggest problem with Pure Talk was the transition from AT&T. Setup was unbelievably complex and confusing. For example, the instructions I received with the Pure Talk SIM cards didn't work and when I talked Tech Support I got very different instructions.
I had to make multiple calls to Tech Support to resolve various issues such as initial setup on both my wife's and my phones, inability to send SMS messages, and 1 or 2 other issues I can't remember now. Pure Talk needs to work on its transition procedures. Since you don't have your own towers, it seems establishing sound and consistent guidelines for helping customer move from all other carriers would be a high priority. From my experience, this is an area that requires significant improvement.

The wait time is not unusual compared to any other customer service department I have dealt with. The customer service members have been friendly and knowledgeable.
As for the service itself, we have had no issues there. I did have a brief moment when I checked my data usage and thought it was saying I had used 3 gigabytes when I had only used 3 megabytes. When I talked to customer service, the representative explained that I was misreading the pie chart at the top, and that it was showing the proper data usage. He was very gracious with my confusion. We have 6 lines each on the 4 GB per month plan. Our former plan with AT&T cost over $250 per month, and we went over our plan data every month. We are saving over $100 per month with Pure Talk and no longer going over on our data usage. I definitely recommend this company!

Additionally, caller ID of those leaving voicemail does not display on the phone. You have to call in to voicemail and enter a password to find out who left you a message.
Plus, when ordering my phone, nowhere was it indicated that I would have to be home to sign for the phone. PureTalk does not allow FedEx to hold the package at a shipping center for pickup. This was incredibly frustrating to learn after my order was placed and the phone was not delivered because I work outside the home during the day. I called about my husband getting bumped off of an important call. His best friend's youngest brother had just passed away. The lady I talked to, Gardenia, suggested my husband had accidentally disconnected the call which was not possible due to him having the call on speaker. I tried to tell her that his call was actually replaced with a telemarketing call. She said that that wasn't a Puretalk problem but a problem with my husband's handling of his phone. We are not stupid people and I don't appreciate being treated as such.

Also with the one to two bars I usually have I can’t send text message and when I’m on a call with somebody it usually cuts out no fewer than 5 times or drops completely. Very difficult to get started: we had to do special steps in the process to come over from Verizon. We told you we were coming from Verizon but you waited until we called with problems before you told us about the special steps. No compensation for the first two weeks of headaches. The pricing is total bait and switch. The ads said ‘You don’t need unlimited data. What you need is 2Gig of data and if you go over we won’t charge you”. Of course we went over because everyone uses more than 2 Gb. What you didn’t say is that the speed drops to the equivalent of dial-up after you go over on your plan. No, you don’t charge us if we go over but the throttled service is completely unusable. Our mobile data connection stops working at random. We have to restart our iPhone 11s a couple times a week.
Our messages don’t go through periodically. I have had texts to customer fail to send. This is a major problem because I think I have responded to an urgent customer request or inquiry only to learn later that they never got it. The same thing happens randomly between our family phones. I called support so many times for all these issues with no help or relief. They say they will fix something or reboot something but we still have these random problems. We will have to switch to another carrier if we can’t get these problems fixed and get some compensation for the first two months of problems.

I checked my Verizon deals and even spoke with a rep but wasn’t impressed with the offers they were giving, especially being a 20 yr customer. I heard about PureTalk on the Mark Levin podcast and checked it out. I was really happy with the deal I found but still nervous about going to a new carrier. Ultimately I kicked Verizon to the curb and couldn’t be any happier with my service. I saved $300 on my new phone, got 15gb more a month on my plan that costs less. Read that again, I’m paying less a month for more gb and have just as good wireless service. If you're on the fence don’t be scared! I personally couldn’t be happier since switching to PureTalk.

He updates it, they work... for a week. I call back, get a girl, and she says she sees an issue in my account, and promises I won't experience this again. I restart, images work... for a week. I call back, again waiting about 25 minutes for a human to pickup. He assured me the others didn't do their job and didn't fix it the right way, that he will fix it permanently. He says I need to restart, so we hang up, I restart, and now no images and no internet on my data plan. Yeah he fixed it up real nice. Received the new SIM cards quickly. The changeover process was very easy to handle for both of our phones (iPhone and flip-phone). The monthly service cost for two phones is quite reasonable (less than I was paying before). The only problem that I have (with the iPhone) is that I lost the 5G capability that I had with the previous big-name carrier. After several attempts (following Customer Service directions) I still do not have access. I was then told that it was likely my phone (iPhone XR) that was the problem! Not sure that’s the case since I had access to 5G previously.

I also wish that you didn't have to call your own number with a password for voicemails. I wish it just worked with the iPhone's setup. Overall, I am happy with the service which is the most important part, and I am saving $30 every month!

I've noticed since switching to Pure Talk, my SMS messages don't always send. I have a similar problem with texts. In looking at the phone settings I can't find a reason why so I assume it is my service. Also, lately getting texts stating I have used an invalid number (the one I am sending to) when I did not enter that number. Any way to opt out of having you sell my personal info? Thanks.

It took seven different phone calls and over four and one half hours to finally get a SIM card replacement for a new NOKIA phone. The two day shipping turned into two weeks and I had no phone service for that entire time on number **. I was put on hold and transferred and disconnected many times-it was a colossal hassle and made me very upset that I had ever switched from Verizon. I am still unable to receive text messages from my local fire department as there is no Puretalk carrier.

(I'm 69 and not so tech savvy) I really appreciated the customer service person's patience and expertise. In all honesty, I think Pure talk's service is terrible, I’m on wifi 80% the time and when I’m off it, it’s hit or miss as to if I will be able to load a song from YouTube, and even then, it will stop multiple times and I will have to wait for it to load to continue with the song or even view something as simple as a Twitter feed. I’m switching to a more reliable service as soon as I can. It really is maddening when I’m in my car and just want to listen to music and oh yea, I can’t because I have pure talk, well, that is coming to a end soon.
