I am unable to make or receive phone calls on my ** and my husband's ** line. This is my second attempt to use this format. My email does not show last message as being sent. These are my issues excluding today's experience. I can be talking on the phone, and suddenly the other party can not hear me (it's like I hit a mute button or the call was dropped). Another issue is that it takes some time before my call connects, and I can make several attempts to complete a phone call. Now today, add the fact that every attempt ends the call immediately with no ring. I dial and get an immediate "Call Ended" This is happening on both lines. We do not have a landline, so this is a real challenge. I can only communicate by email. And the Pure Talk site will not submit my email!

Everything was good in changing to Pure Talk, porting, etc. Initial experience was great. However, I bought a 3 year old but still expensive Samsung UNLOCKED phone to bring to PureTalk. Last week, we were kicked off the network with no warning. Now after extensive internet research, I find AT&T will not enable the features in my phone that will make it compatible with AT&T's network because phone is unlocked, -not purchased from AT&T. Right now, my phone is working because I found a work-around but I will probably get kicked off again. When that happens, I will have to leave PureTalk. My beef is mostly with AT&T but I am upset that PureTalk or somebody didn't warn me before kicking me off. Thankfully, I have other options. Even if I end up having to flush the phone I bought and buy a brand new phone, I certainly won't be spending my money with AT&T or any company using their network.

The customer service experience that I had with Pure talk trying to get my phone up and running was the worst customer experience I have ever had. I went from one stay at home mom to another, each reading out of a manual not having any idea what was wrong. I got differing information, wrong information, no information, hung up on, disconnected and sent to my telephone manufacturer to troubleshoot the problem. At long last I got to one girl who knew what she was doing and she got the phone turned on properly. Wait times for customer service calls were as high as two hours and 10 minutes each. Most of them averaged better than an hour and 20 minutes before you got hold of someone who did not know the answer to the problem at hand. I lost a day and a half of work fighting to get my phone working properly. And as a result I would never recommend pure talk to any of my friends or acquaintances. The savings are not worth the trouble.

We were able to keep our old numbers and the process of ending service with Verizon and starting with PureTalk was seamless. The monthly cost seems fair. The only hiccup we have had is that there are times when the coverage is a little spotty. This is most evident when we're inside a building. This isn't prevalent but it does occur from time to time.

So far, Pure Talk USA has proven to be reliable. I have one issue and one question. The issue is that I asked about notification emails/texts on the day PRIOR to auto renewal and understood that I would get them. I have not. I get them WHEN I am charged. I tend to forget so usually don't use auto pay. That is my only option with Pure Talk. One perk with your setup is that it only puts a hold on my card and I have several days to make sure funds are there. If it were not for that, this would be a big issue for me. QUESTION: Would you consider allowing a personal hot spot with the 20gb plan?

When I signed up for Pure talk I ordered a new phone. When I received it there was a lock code in it so I started calling to find out what I needed do. After multiple calls and hours on the phone I was told to return it which I did and still have not been refunded my money. Then this week my IPhone quit letting me make or receive calls. Text still works so Sunday I started calling customer service to see what was up. After an hour got someone to talk to. By then I had heard the recording that Apple had quit servicing my IPhone 6. So I ask about my pending refund so I could find out about getting another phone. Was told I would be put on hold while they checked on it so I gave them my wife’s phone number which was the phone I was call on in case we got cut off and as soon as he put me on hold I was cut off. I waited a half hour to see if I would get a call back. Never happened.
I called back and a hour later. Someone answered. I told her I been cut off and my phone was a IPhone that was dropped by Apple. She said I need tech support and she would transfer me. I said, "No. I just need to find out about getting another phone" but she transferred me anyway and again I got cut off. I am a vet USMC and I listen to Sean Hannity and he raves about Pure Talk and the great service you get. I haven’t seen it. I understand all of your customer service people work from home and some of the people I have talked to since I signed up have been very helpful but most of them just try to pass you along to someone else. Makes me wonder if the elite have a different customer service number to call. So tomorrow I look for another cell phone carrier.

Updated on 03/24/2022: I am still waiting for a response from Pure Talk. I returned the Nokia phone they sold me 3 weeks ago which will not function due to the 3G shutdown. I have called customer service 3 times. Twice I was disconnected. The customer service representative asks for a callback number in case of disconnection. They never called me back. I was also told a supervisor would be contacting me. No supervisor has called me back. This company, despite being recommended by talk show hosts on the radio, is a poor company. The company has not even had the courtesy to respond to my response from 3/20/22 on Consumer Affairs. I will be contacting Dennis Prager and Mark Levin to let them know what I think of their sponsor, Pure Talk USA.
Original review: I purchased a Nokia 3.4 cell phone from Pure Talk 2 weeks ago. I entered into a 30 month contract. I received the phone. It did not work. Pure Talk sold me a phone that was not going to be supported due to the 3G shutdown. I was on the phone with Pure Talk on Sunday for over 3 hours. After being notified that the phone would no longer be supported, I was told that I was still locked into the 30 month contract I signed. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, I was told that no supervisor was available. The customer service representative, Danielle, told me a supervisor would be contacting me tomorrow on my home phone number. She placed me on hold. I was then disconnected.
I had also spoken with tech support during my 3 hour phone escapade. They were also not helpful. There are additional details that I will spare for the sake of brevity. I went with Pure Talk because it was recommended by trusted sources. The price was good. The experience has been VERY POOR!! NOT RECOMMENDED!!

Learned my phone stopped making and receiving calls due to a change by PT. Of course, no notification was sent, so I went through the whole factory reset after backing up all the data. No joy. Contacted Samsung CS, and they clued me in. Even though I have a 4G phone, when 3G support reach EOL, it adversely affected my connectivity; e.g., can't make or receive calls, but can make and receive texts including MM. Tried to contact PT, consumer support doesn't do weekends. Will be switching to a non-AT&T associated provider.

I use my girlfriend's phone to call customer service and find out that they lost their contract with Samsung so Samsung devices are no longer supported and having a relatively new Samsung Galaxy A20 it was very disheartening finding out that it would no longer work and I would have to get a new phone just because puretalk decided to change their contracts.
And the worst part is they didn't even warn us this was going to happen. Not so much as an email or anything. Just cut off one day, and never paid late on my phone bill just totally blindsided. And they didn't even offer any type of special deal or compensation for their existing customers who were affected by this. 100% UNACCEPTABLE. The Self serve style of Pure Talk was a disaster. My first phones were never able to text completely. After their 3G catastrophe I bought two new phones which never received phone calls. I had to call customer service 3 times and wait 20-30 minutes only to have the support person punch a wrong button and send me to the start one time and my phone shut off the second time. The third visit the person said they activated my phones but it would take 24 hours to make a call... WHAT?? That NEVER happened. I could text- use my apps but no phone calls. Of course I did not keep the original packaging for my new phones so I can't return them. Pure Talk wasted literally days of my life with their failed service model. I only took 30 minutes in-store for my new provider to set up 3 phones and they work!

I’ve had nothing but problems from Day One. The low rates sound great, but when the service drops with no apparent reason, or voice mails delete themselves and callers get get the message that this customer has not yet set-up voice (after resetting VM) it starts to be annoying. Then they discontinued supporting my Note 9 phone without warning. I went to make a phone call and nothing, couldn’t even call customer service through that phone. I called customer service multiple times, have sat on hold for more than 5 hours and never talked to anyone. Data usage went from 10 megs to 0 without actual usage forcing me to purchase more data.
Even leaving Pure Talk is a nightmare. As I am writing this review I am sitting on hold with customer non-service. Because of the constant failures of the Puretalk system I had to move to another carrier for reliable service. A day after porting to another carrier I still cannot receive phone calls because Puretalk has not completed their part of the handshake. I will happily pay multiple time more than the Puretalk cost than to endure one more day of this abject failure of a service provider. BTW, as I am writing this review I’ve been on hold with their customer non-service for 40 minutes now and expect no answer for hours from these losers who are holding my phone hostage. So maddening! You claim to have unlimited texting, but once I reach 5k, you shut off my texts with no notification. It takes me hours to figure it out, and then I have to call to have you refresh my account. The first time I called, I waited on hold for 45 min, then the girl said she couldn’t help me, transferred me to “tech support” where I waited on hold for another hour before I finally hung up. The second time I called in, I waited on hold for 30 min. At least that time, the girl had my account quickly refreshed and service restored, she was wonderful. I’m considering going back to Verizon. I will pay more, but it’s worth it to not have to deal with the hassle.

I have never called Pure Talk Customer Service and been on hold for less than an hour. My last call with them was over 2.5 hours on hold. I actually got a service representative at one point only to have her send me back to the beginning of the queue and start all over again. My longest service call was nearly 4 hours long. I was on hold with CS for over 1.5 hours then they sent me to the tech department where I was on hold for more than 2 hours. IF you manage to switch your number over to Pure Talk it will never quite work right. I had to reset my phone once and lost hundreds of photos/videos. I also had to reset my Access Point monthly. I'm currently trying to switch to Google Fi and Pure Talk is making it impossible.

The service itself was great. Customer service, however, and the wait to talk to someone was simply pathetic and unacceptable. Due to the 3G shut down, it took Tech Support and Customer Service 12 days to tell me my phone wasn't compatible. It's worse than that. Back in October we were told to purchase new phones because our Samsung S5 phones were not compatible in January. We bought two phones (spending $435 total for two Samsung A32 5G phones) that were on their approved list, and right after the 3g shutdown, mine doesn't work. No calling in or calling out. Fortunately we can still receive and send with my wife's phone. Tech Support said it was only a matter of time before that goes out.
I called on a Saturday and was told they would send me out a new SIM card. I called Thursday the next week asking where it was. Turns out there was nothing in their records indicating a SIM card was sent and there were no tickets recorded. Again, more time without my phone service. During that time, I was on hold for no less than 12 hours total. There's no phone tree that separates Customer Service with Tech Support, so I had to talk to a CSR first so they could put me in the queue for another hour. After I got there, they ran me through the same tests and processes to get the phone to call out. Nothing. I received the extension numbers to two Tech Support people, only to realize that when you dial their 800 tech support number, it's not working, and there really was no way to dial the extension except after you waited an hour to speak with a person.
Then the last Tech Support guy told me he would see this issue through to the end. I called after going through Customer Support then to Tech Support, I asked for his extension, and his voicemail box was not activated, so back into the queue I went. I spent three hours on the phone yesterday waiting. Then, when I realized that I would have to get a new phone because the phone that Pure Talk told me was approved wasn't really compatible with their 4g. Yeah, beyond frustrated and out $400+.
Then I went looking for new phones. Turns out the best deals for phones are on pure talk's website, but navigating that site is equally frustrating. You have to get a plan with the phone even though I already have a plan with two lines. No way to unhook the deal from the phone without the phone being full price. It wasn't the first time I had problems with the site; I just never thought to write about it. And just last night I went on the site and the A32 5G is on their site to be purchased, the same phone they said was not compatible with their network. So, Customer Service lied to me multiple times and made me wait hours to speak to someone, who eventually passed me on to someone else. I was more than polite on the phone with all of these people. The wait wasn't their fault; the lying, however, was, but I had no way of knowing that until hours or days later.

We placed our order to sign up for service on a Saturday. Received no email correspondence or communication by Monday. When trying to call to speak to Customer Service, I waited on the phone for 50+ minutes, spoke to a rep who gave me an invalid email address to send info to. Then after three attempts of waiting 30+ minutes on hold, reached a rep who after 10 minutes disconnected and kicked me back to the hold line. This is absolutely unacceptable to leave customers with no option to see order status, cancel their order or inquire without being on hold for almost an hour every time. I have never dealt with a customer service that lacks so much in customer service. I became a Puretalk customer in January. I ordered two phones; one for my wife and one for me, along with three phone plans; one for me, one for my wife, and one for my daughter. This transaction cost me over three hundred dollars. I had no concerns about it. The phone that I purchased for myself was an "out of the box" Nokia phone. I asked for a phone that had wifi calling capabilities. I was told the Nokia did, so I went ahead with the Nokia. When I received the phone, I was disappointed. It was not "wifi calling"ready.
I called Customer Service that very night that I received the phone and requested a return and a replacement phone. I had to purchase another phone and pay for the return of the Nokia. I wasn't happy paying for the return shipping because I bought a phone under the pretense I was getting wifi calling. I still was patient. I took my phone to UPS and sent it to Puretalk USA. Weeks went by before I decided to contact Puretalk.
The warehouse had not even looked at my return phone yet. I was told they would get right on it. I said that that was fine and to please email me or call me when they refunded my money. I never received a call or an email back. Once again, I called Puretalk. They still had not done anything with my return. More weeks went by, and maybe I had to call more times. The result was that there were some supposed scratches on the screen, and I was not getting my refund for my phone. I was much less happy then.
I tried to be fair, and I asked them to send me pictures of the scratched phone screen. I never received them. It is March now. I have made two payments to Puretalk USA, and I have not received my phone back, nor have I received my refund, nor have I received any rational explanation for either. I also would like to know why customer service asks for a phone number, "just in case we get disconnected, I can call you back" from the customer when customer service NEVER CALLS YOU BACK!!!! I have been disconnected multiple times after waiting on the "customer service personnel" sometimes an hour! I never received a call back from anyone except Sylvia. No matter how hard she tried to help me, the warehouse failed.

Updated on 03/30/2022: This is my 2nd review of this company. I sent my phone back and have proof it was received on 3/11/22. I am still waiting for a full refund. Here is a timeline of the calls I have made: 3/22/22 Representative said she would email the warehouse to get an update on the status of my return. 3/25/22 Representative said the warehouse did not respond to the email sent on 3/22/22. She sent an email to the Team Lead in the warehouse. 3/26/22 Representative said the was no response to either email. I asked to speak to a supervisor. He said that it is very difficult to find a Supervisor on the weekend. Also, the warehouse is closed on the weekend.
3/29/22 Representative said there was still no reply to emails. She finally did receive a response that the warehouse was backed up and more time is needed to process the return. Why don't you have an internal tracking system for returns? Why is the warehouse closed on the weekend when people are waiting for refunds? WHEN will I receive a REFUND?
Original review: I chose to change my cell phone carrier to Pure Talk because Dave Ramsey recommends the company and I would not need to buy a new phone. After activating my service, their website indicated I would have problems with my current phone because of the 3G shutdown. So I bought a new phone. It took 4 days to receive my new phone. I have not had any service on my phone since yesterday. Fortunately, I have a landline phone so I called customer service. I spoke to someone after waiting an hour. She said there was a problem with Samsung phones and I should receive an email from Samsung. I have never received an email from Samsung.
The customer service rep was helpful but couldn't resolve the issue so she transferred me to tech support. After waiting more than an hour, I decided to return to my old carrier. My previous carrier contacted Puretalk, and they said they can not port my number until March 7th. What am I supposed to do for the next 2 days? This is entirely unacceptable! Puretalk if you are reading this please port my number ASAP. Also, the company does not have 24-hour support.

We found out when we got the phones that you did not support voice mail needed in order for us to run our small business and when we called about asking questions about the service not included but told we would have this service and not one but many CSR could not help us then it became a matter of time and NO ONE from your company would help us and when it came time for us to return our phones it was a HUGE undertaking on your part and ours!
The only person that even would help us in all of this debacle was a CSR named Becky Ext # **. She was actually understanding and fighting along with us in getting our phones returned and agreeing with us that something went terribly wrong with our account and was even questioning your company's ethics. I followed all of the guidelines to return the phones and in the meantime, your company actually sent me an email saying that your company was sending me to collections for one of the phones that came back with damage. I contacted Becky to ask what was going on and she told me that they have not received our phones yet and asked me for the tracking number from the Fed-EX labels that again YOUR COMPANY provided for us to send them back in, so how did they know if they were damaged or not, this is after we packaged them in the same packing and boxes that you shipped them in and we added extra packing to make them even safer.
My husband and I are in our 50's and have NEVER EVER not even once damaged a cell phone in our life and to be accused of this is awful and you did not even have the phone checked in when you threatened us for this accusation! The CSR rep actually checked to see if the phones were there in the returns warehouse and yep, sure enough there they sat with not being checked in and you were threatening to ruin our credit because your company is so messed up and probably upset because we returned the phones! We have reached out to let AMAC know of this behavior from your company and were given a person by the name of Gardenia ant EXT ** and we tried to get ahold of her several times with no phone calls back to us.
I have asked several times for your legal department for our lawyer to send a letter, fax or email and have not heard back from your company in regards to the astronomical amount that you are/were going to send us to collections for and for the full refund of our phone service that all but 53.00 has been returned to us and we have heard 0 from your company until now wanting a survey... lol how ironic. We have contacted the BBB and Yelp in hopes that no one will ever have to go thru this again with your company and be taken advantage of like we are and feel completely invaded by your company. Way to treat the older population and take advantage of them.

1.) 1st: Pure Talk offers NO texting or direct-calling to Canada. I was not told this before signing up. This is an epic failure.
2.) 2nd: Most importantly: I signed up in Jan 2022, after specifically being told that my Samsung Galaxy S9 was indeed compatible with Puretalk. But I awoke March 1st to find that I could no longer make/receive ANY calls whatsoever. Puretalk told me that they had suddenly made changes to their network and, as a result, I could suddenly no longer use my Samsung Galaxy. Period. I was given NO advance warning and No valid acceptable, explanation either.
This is disgraceful customer service, and Puretalk offered NO compensation, and NO reimbursement. All I got were empty apologies. Crazy. Very, very disappointing. I will be closing my account.
Greetings, Josh! We regret to hear of the experience you have had with PureTalk thus far, and sincerely apologize for the poor customer service you have received, as this is a top priority for PureTalk. I used the link they sent me and selected a phone. To receive the entire $250 discount I had to finance with them which locked me into a 2 year contract. The discount was to be put on my account in 3 equal payments starting a month after the phone was activated.
A little bit over a month after activating the phone I contacted them to see when the discount would be showing on my account only to be told that I had not used the promotion. The only reason I financed the phone was to receive the full discount. They now have be locked into a 2 year contract and are no longer responding to me. To me this shows the company is unethical and far from transparent in their dealings with what had been a loyal customer. Once my 2 year commitment is complete, I will be looking for something that doesn't make promises then back out of them.

I ordered the phone on 11/30/2021 and recognized there would be a day or two to process the order. However the phone wasn't delivered until 12/6/2021 and it was delivered to my neighbor, not me. "Angel" in customer service at 11:50am on 12/7 promised to refund the $15. When I followed up at the end of the billing period another rep said there were no notes in the record -therefore no refund. On Jan. 7 I wrote to CEO McFarland. I have not had the courtesy of a reply.

I switched to Pure Talk about a week ago because AT&T is woke. Had some issues with my mobile data but got it resolved. The issue I have with Pure Talk thus far is that I can only attach two pics (depending on size) on MMS texts. I get a flag for max limit reached on attachments when I try to attach more than two. With AT&T I was able to attach 10 pics of any size. So the advertisement I heard was basically saying that they are the same as AT&T because they use the same towers or something like that (so that's not entirely true). I dropped AT&T because they are a woke company. From my understanding Pure Talk isn't. There are very few Non woke telecommunication companies so Pure Talk it is. Maybe they will improve their attachment limits in the future.

When I signed up I was told I would be able to make calls to Mexico and Germany but could not. Called customer service and was told the same or that I could use WhatsApp. If I would have known I was going lose international calling I would have stayed with Verizon.
Hi, Bruce! We regret to hear about your experience with PureTalk thus far. At this time we only offer an International Calling plan to make calls outside the US. In order to make an international call, you must purchase an international PIN for the amount of 10 dollars. This PIN is good for 30 days or until it has been utilized. This PIN will not work outside the US if you are traveling abroad. Thank you for your feedback, it always helps us improve the Pure Talk experience. If you have any further questions or are in need of further assistance, you may contact our Customer Service department at 1-877-820-7873.

I came to Pure Talk just to try it, but I was surprised of the great coverage. Mainly because I am a truck driver and I’m all over the place. I had kink when I first started with pure talk but I took 48 hrs to get fix. Other than that, $55/month is equal and sometimes better than previous service by Verizon.
Greetings, Alfonso! We are pleased to hear that you are enjoying your PureTalk service and that your coverage has improved by making the switch. When I considered jumping over my concern was limited signal or functionality like other competitors in same category. Thankfully there is zero difference so far other than my monthly bill from a Main Carrier plan! The only downside is, which is probably a reason they can afford lower cost, is down throttling after X amount of data. No worries. Just means podcasts intead of videos! But you can buy affordable data boosts to get speed back up!
Greetings, Donald! We are delighted to hear that you are enjoying your PureTalk service and that you are saving money by making the switch. Once you reach your allotted amount of high-speed data, the speed throttles down to 256 KBPS. The data speed is slowed instead of charging our customers for overage fees. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this has caused. You may purchase additional data by logging into your account portal online via our website. Once you have logged in click on the Add-on tab and you will see a list of add-on data plans to choose from. This will automatically be added to your current high-speed data limit. Thank you for your feedback, it always helps us improve the PureTalk experience.

I'm very happy with the price of my service and happy that the service is roughly the same as on my previous carrier. Only complaint, I travel sometimes with a family member that has Xfinity for cellular service and they often have service where I don't. In the city, no coverage issues.

I've called technical support so many times, but they can't fix it. It's sorta of a ripoff actually, that I've gone this long without being able to talk to my friends, who all use a group text (which I started before switching to Puretalk).

I love the price that I'm paying for my general phone service. However the internet service is horrible. Throughout the day I cannot download a picture if somebody sends me a text message. Internet will not allow that to happen. I have to wait till I get home so my Wi-Fi lets me access downloads. I am saving enough money to tolerate it but I'm not happy with it.

We are Canadian Snow birds spending 6 months in Florida. Pure Talk is a great cell phone plan during the winter months with a very reasonable price. It allows us to keep in touch with our local friends, and the Internet access gives us the same flexibility we have in Canada. Customer Service, when needed, is very friendly and efficient.

First, the great parts: Talk, Text, Data are great. The not-so-great is that I can no longer send emails from my home computer to PureTalk phones. With Sprint phones you can send computer emails to phonenumber@messaging.sprint.pcs. With AT&T phones you can send to phonenumber@text.att.net. Why doesn't PureTalk have this ability??
Hello, Jere! Thank you for making the switch to PureTalk! We are delighted to hear that you are enjoying your PureTalk service. This is supposed to be unlimited text and talk, and yet every month since I have signed up for your service I have gotten my phone cut off after 7500 minutes. Unlimited should mean just that so there should be no max number there. It is embarrassing as a businesswoman to have my phone cut off when clients are trying to call me. I have called in every month to complain about it. The representative says they are fixing the issue yet the issue still persist.

Would like to preview voice mails to decide which I want to listen to and which I would like to delete without listening to everyone.
