    Before I signed up for Pure Talk I asked specifically if I would be able to receive 5G coverage in my area. The salesperson assured me I would and I don’t. I called the help desk. They were unable to help and unwilling to escalate it to get a resolution. The young lady was not knowledgeable, it appeared she was reading off a script and if the script didn’t fix, which it didn’t, she was lost. I am very frustrated because when I enter a building I lose service. It has been very poor service.

    I signed up for service that I thought was $50-$55 a month, I'm paying $78. I also received a text on one occasion that said I had used 2.7 GB of data but it didn't state the time frame or billing cycle dates. I assumed I had used too much data but had no idea what to do to manage it.

    I set the brightness the way I want it. Then every time I charge the phone it goes back to darker setting. Should stay! Customer service is sometimes a big run around. Get referred to Samsung for simple question or remain on hold. Just give up and deal with it.

    Customer Service has been great when I have had to call. Service so far seems good, but not great. My phone tends to lose connection while away from wifi and phone call connections inside big buildings tends to be spotty as well.     Dear PureTalk, I had a rocky activation experience that lasted over two days. In addition, initial activation support person said I needed a new phone, immediately charged it to my credit card. Port department said I did not need a new phone so new phone was cancelled before it shipped, but took 2.5 weeks to credit cost back to my credit card. Very annoying. Since then service has been relatively smooth sailing. Please call me if you want more details about the activation experience.

    It just doesn't seem to work very well when not on wifi. I use my data at work my weather app my navigation and they are very slow or don't work at all.     Phone ordered 8/14/22, 2day shipping was a joke! Phone FINALLY arrived 8/19/22 and the box from FED EX was beat! I recommend a new shipper like UPS- more dependable! Thankfully the phone was not damaged. My phone was lost so I ordered a new SIM card - unaware that a SIM card comes with the phone! $11.00 wasted!! This should be noted on phone purchase.     This was the worst experience I have ever had with a phone carrier! First of all, I had NO internet connection anywhere including my own house standing 5 feet away from my modem. Pure Talk couldn't locate a signal if it was trying to find them. I could not use my GPS to go anywhere new because, you guessed it, no service. I had to carry written directions like I was back in high school. Then they charge an extra six dollars a month unless you are on direct pay. I only get paid once a month and asked if they could move my payment date back 3 days so I would not get charged the extra amount. Even that was too complicated for them. Finally, I had enough and switched to another carrier.

    When my sim card came and I cancelled my Pure Talk service (best day ever!!!), the thieves told me that they could not give me a refund for the remaining 26 days!!! that I would not be receiving service! On what planet do they feel entitled to keep money they have not earned? I did not have choice to only pay for the 4 days, I was forced to pay up front for the whole month. This is a shady company. They have no morals, no customer service, no internet service, I don't know why they qualify to be called a service company at all. She actually told me that I had to time my cancellation perfectly to the end of the month in order to not lose money. What a bunch of crooks. Never again. Good riddance. I hope no one has to suffer the frustration and the rip off that I did.

    The techs and customer service agents were kind, but they could not fix the problem. We could not receive calls or texts from any phone other than iPhones. Once we switched carriers to T-Mobile, they discovered that Pure Talk did not fully port our phone numbers from our previous carrier. That explains why our phones never worked properly. I'm not sure why the PureTalk techs could not discover this themselves. Also, no return payments or discounts have been offered for the half-service we received for the 2 months we tried PureTalk.

    As long as I don't travel far, the coverage is pretty good. Traveling through the desert to Reno, there was a lot of time with no coverage. I am not using 5g, just LTE, so that might have some influence on the coverage. Overall, the service is a good value.

    Previously, we had AT&T with surprisingly no issues except for the cost. I switched our acct over (4 phones), one of we is hardly ever used, so I won't comment on that one, my phone, of which I USUALLY don't have any issues. Probably because I'm usually at home or in an office in which my phone is set to wifi calling. The other two phones on the acct, both users are extremely unhappy with data coverage. I thought it would be exactly as AT&T because you stated that it's the same network. Clearly, something seems to be lacking. I am very happy with the cost savings and I would recommend due to that, but, I too have experienced trying to log onto the internet to look up something (in a populated area) but did not have access to WiFi and I too was unable to complete my transaction. That is why I gave only 3 stars.

    So they use AT&T towers for their service. However, AT&T customers get the best access. So, if you live in an area where there are a lot of AT&T customers, forget data. I can have literally full bars and still have slow data. IF I am on an interstate, usually my data works fine. As soon as I get into a subdivision, the data slows or becomes non-existent. IF you need data, you are better off going with the majors. Tech support is no help either. All they do is have you reset your access point names (Android) and if that doesn't work, they are no help at all.

    I like the US based CS, and the fact there is a real person. I'm coming from 17 years with Sprint.
    1. We seem to use more data than with sprint with no change in usage. With sprint, we had 4gb per line and not once in the past decade did we ever use all our data. On the contrary, with pure talk we blow through the 4 gb, even past 6gb 20 days in... with no change in how we use our phones. Quite odd.
    2. Speed is not as fast as sprint.

    3. Constant failed text. I've talked to CS about this, but many of our text either take several minutes to send or completely fail. APN has been check, phones reset, nothing helps.

    I am tech savvy, but my switch from Verizon to PureTalk was a nightmare. I switched my phone and both of my parents' phones. Tech support was never helpful. I got 2 of the phones working on my own after a LOT of troubleshooting. The 3rd phone has never been able to work and support just stopped responding to my requests for help. The answers they were giving me were not helpful in the least. When I went back to Verizon for help they were just as bad, which was the ONLY reason I did not switch back to them.     My bill was always varying each month with ATT. Only about 1 time in 12 months was my bill the normal high bill it was supposed to be.     I'll just list all the failures.

    -Unable to correct hotspot not working.
    -Tech are subpar, do not know their job.
    -Operators are rude.
    -I asked multiple time to speak to a supervisor. No call back. No supervisor called despite being told one would contact me within 24 hours.
    -After 6 month, still no voice mail.
    -Every-time one calls, you have to give all the same info over and over.

    -Now I'm trying to port back to Verizon and Puretalk is saying the wrong address is being used... Funny. I verified my zip yesterday. The exact one that was on Puretalk's files.

    It's 2022. This type of garbage should not be happening.

    I switched to your service in March of this year. I purchased an I-Phone 13 on monthly payments. Since I have had the phone your IT group has NEVER been able to get it connected to your service.     I appreciate the discounted price. It has helped me save money in this time of high prices. Generally the service is good. I don't lose calls. But ever since switching to PureTalk my phone has become really buggy. The internet is slower (not data transfer, but the browser). The keyboard doesn't come up all the time. I miss texts from friends. AirDrop is inconsistent. I had none of these problems when the phone was on Verizon. It all started the moment we switch to PureTalk.

    Also, the voicemail feature is silly. Is this 1997? I have to call in and remember a series of numerical instructions to listen to voicemail? (My wife had voicemails saved on her phone from her late grandmother. When we switched to PureTalk, it deleted what we had saved so she can't hear her grandma's voice anymore.)

    I was not pleased with Pure Talk from the very beginning of our experience with them. It took over 2 weeks to get our service correct and I had to do most of the heavy lifting because I got very little help from Pure Talk. Talked to a lot of people, but always seemed to be a different story! Finally, after getting everything working, no real thanks to Pure Talk. We were happy with the service, then our phones quit working and I contacted Pure Talk and was informed that 2 phones that I had just purchased were now no longer on their network and we were out of luck. You need new phones and we are not going to do anything for you. I am back with Verizon happily, and even though I bought my wife a new phone. I was able to take over her old phone with Verizon, and it works fine. Even though Pure Talk said it wouldn't work with their network, or any other network. Just another long line of untruths that I was told by your company! Good Riddance!

    Your international calling is the worst. My granddaughter went to Mexico and to talk to her via Pure Talk was difficult and archaic. The other big cell phone companies have seamless service to Mexico and Canada. Your voicemail service is also limited and outdated. Other cell companies' voicemail service shows a list of your received voicemails and transcribes them without the customer having to call their voicemail.

    Overall my service with Pure Talk has been extremely poor. Tried to go back to AT&T but couldn’t get our numbers to port back in. The set up of one of our phones took two weeks and probably 30+ calls to customer service tech support and about every incompetent person that doesn’t really want to work. It never really has worked correctly since then. My wife's phone her voicemail never has been functioning the way it should. Every time I call it’s 3-5 phone calls before anything is remotely fixed.     I've had several problems - all have been resolved, but takes a while on the phone. Ever since I did the last reset to solve a problem, I am flooded with pop up ads.     When I first switched to PureTalk, the process was convoluted and resulted in my being without phone service for several days. It also involved multiple long and frustrating calls with customer support. Therefore, when I finally got basic service to work, but had other issues, I was reluctant to call back for fear of once again losing phone service. Finally, the problem became been annoying enough that I mustered up the courage to once again engage with PureTalk customer support. The first person I talked to instructed me to remove the physical sim from my card and reboot. He told me that when I did that, my problem would go away. He also said that PureTalk does not use physical simulations, and that that was the reason I was having the problems I was experiencing.

    When I followed his instructions to the letter, my fears were realized. I then called PureTalk customer support on another phone, and spent 90 minutes on the phone with another customer support agent who was insistent that he was the right person for the call and that he would fix my problem. At the end of the call, my problem was still the same. He promised to call me within the next 90 minutes with a solution. It’s now been three days, and no call, and no phone service. I was the pioneer in experimenting with PureTalk for my other family members and friends. Sorry to say, you can guess what my recommendation has been to them. In fact, at this point, I’m ready to give up. Please issue me a full refund for the few weeks of troubled service that I put up with and we will part ways.

    When we first received our SIM cards, they would not work in our phones.     You sent me an email asking for my feedback on my experience with Pure Talk USA. It has been hit and miss since first signing up. Yes, you are in the USA. Yes, you answer the phone when I call - eventually... No, not every tech who answers the call has the right answers to my questions, which are usually why is my phone not connecting, or why is my wife or mother's phone not connecting, and it eventually goes to an actual tech who can answer the question. That answer is to completely reset all settings on my phone to stay connected to Pure Talk USA, a reseller of AT&T. AT&T sucks to be honest. They have the worst customer service, and their signal strength where I live is beyond terrible.

    I came to you for a service based on a reference from AMAC. I was told my bill would be less than anyone else. Turns out it is actually a little higher than the service I did have with a reseller of Verizon. Verizon has a weak signal where I live, but it is better than AT&T. I am not sure how long we will continue to use Pure Talk, as this issue with our phones being dropped off the network from time to time is beyond frustrating, and it is the only time I have ever experienced this with any cell phone service I have ever had. Oh, and the email sent has choices for how well you are doing, but the links do not work. Really? You ask me how you are doing, and the email does not link to the choice you set in the email? Not a good way to ask for feedback in my mind, and the reason why I spent time to respond negatively. Good day.

    I went to Pure Talk because the price and it was American based. I needed to replace a phone. I ordered through pure talk. The phone was junk. I muscled through because I do very little on my phone. Then that phone died. I ordered a replacement again through pure talk- price, american based, and so on. I paid for overnight shipping on July 21st. Today is July 26. I took a day off work to wait for phone because signature required and no phone. Tracfone here I come.     Originally, I wanted a new phone with unlimited data and a good amount of hotspot data. Soon, I heard about this service from the Ben Shapiro Show.     I'm trying to port a phone number from a business account, but the form for porting requires a first and last name. I just broke the company name into two parts. I'm guessing that's why I'm still waiting (48 hours) to hear if it worked or not. Unfortunately, there's been no communication from Pure Talk, so I have no idea what's going on.

    What would be really helpful is some sort of explanation about what to expect. The little flyer that came with the sim card said this process usually takes an hour but sometimes 72. What it doesn't tell me is how I know when it works or not. I filled out the form and the website said thanks, but now what? Will I get an email? Will I get a phone call? Will the old phone just stop working and I need to put the sim card in the new phone? After the online form is filled out, I strongly recommend a screen with further instructions, something along the line of, "Thanks for filling out the form. You should receive an email with further instructions in about an hour. If you haven't heard from us within 72 hours, please call us at 1-800-..."

    Updated on 7/27/2022: In response to this review, was told a tech would call -- then nothing. Was told I'd receive a SIMS by Tuesday but it never arrived. Pure Talk doesn't have support on the weekends. Meanwhile, no phone service.

    Original review: I was excited to switch to Pure Talk. The eSIMS doesn't work after spending 7 hours with different reps. So there's no phone or text service now and no end in sight. Meanwhile *need to communicate and complete a contractual business transaction with due dates and deadlines. Getting an escalated ticket to someone with expertise to fix is difficult and they won't give a day let alone time window so you can make sure you get their call. Unless you're able to stay glued to an alternate phone 24/7 for literally days, it's easy to miss them. They leave a message with no way to contact them back directly so you have to start the whole process all over again. Most of the people there seem exceedingly nice and one was just barely civil. I sincerely regret trying this carrier.

    I was needing to purchase a signal booster for my home. I knew PureTalk did not sell them, I just needed signal and band information for my area. Which is what I asked for on the original email. I was not asking for an endorsement just signal information so I get the right one. If I could not get my phone to make and receive calls I would have to get a different carrier. I live in town and the tower is a quarter mile from my home. I have great signal outside, just not in my home. I replied back with that information, repeating what I was requesting, but never heard anything back until this email.

    The original response looked like a canned response and not like they had even read my message. If I would not have been able to get this information from another source I would have had to cancel my service and it would have been because of a lack of response from PureTalk tech support. I do not mind not having a brick and mortar store to go to as long as I can get proper support some other way. Your support folk need to improve their service. Hoping if I need to Contact service again it will be better than this one.

    We love Puretalk as a service and really appreciated that we could purchase older (refurbished?) phone models at a discount rather than be forced to pay $1000 for the latest and greatest. We got the phone model we really wanted and ended up paying slightly less than our old provider for a tremendous amount more service/data. We shared 5 GB with our old provider and we now pay about a total of $25 less per month for 60 GB/Unlimited. I really feel kind of dumb for sticking with our old provider for so long. We appreciate the values your company holds and which we share.

    The only issue is that up at the family property on a lake in far northern Minnesota, we only have one, sometimes two, bars of signal. Phone calling and data access are a little intermittent, but for the most part that one bar of signal is enough to get a call through if we need it. If we need to access data, it comes and goes, but we don’t need to use much data when we are up there. It seems to be more of an issue with my Wife’s phone, even though we have the same model. We are mainly focusing on being outside in the woods and on the water. So that isn’t really a serious problem, but it is the only limitation with our service. Regardless, we are glad to be with Puretalk.

    Was never able to get service! Could not talk to anyone about it because I had NO PHONE!!! No stores available to get my issues resolved! TERRIBLE. I would never recommend this service to ANYONE. You have to have someone available to talk to when things go wrong. Had I been able to talk to someone to resolve the problems it might have not been such a BAD experience.

    We are happy but the service coverage at times is spotty. There are more noticeably times that our service coverage isn’t solid versus our last carrier Straight Talk. Also the way the system is set up for voicemail seems outdated. This is a step behind other carriers feature wise.

At that time it would not read the SIM card and customer service stated it was a problem with the "brand new" phone that was bought through the website.     I appreciate the amount of money that I save by the Pure Talk plans. Unfortunately I have learned that the AT&T towers, that this service runs off of, are few and far between in my area.     I subscribed to this service because I was disappointed with my previous service provider. I heard about Pure Talk on conservative talk radio and decided to try it. My first problem was that I had to purchase 2 new phones because mine were too old to work with Pure Talk’s system - $2000 spent! Next, was the horrible service I received the 3, or 4 times I had to call tech support. The first time I waited over an hour before I finally hung up. The other 2, or 3 times I called I spoke with the same girl. Apparently, Pure Talk only has 1 person answering the phone. She was very unprofessional and sounded like she was 15 years old. She needed to be taught how to do customer service.

    And then there is the fact that I can not use mobile hotspot on my phone unless I purchase a larger data program, which would have cost me more than the previous carrier. Last, was the data roaming. I went on a cruise and had absolutely no phone service until I got back to the country. I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND Pure Talk and will be canceling before the next billing cycle!

    This has got to be one of the biggest shams of 2022. I spend 60% of my time waiting for pages to load, restarting the app, restarting my phone & day after day I get the same pop-up; “VPN unable to connect & internet traffic is blocked“ & “...the server stopped responding”. Last month I spent an additional $10 because the internet stopped working altogether so I called for assistance & their response was to explain that I’d used all my “unlimited data” & if I wanted to use the internet I could add $10 to my account to buy more “unlimited data”.

    Again, I have “UNLIMITED data” service plan & it’s actually VERY limited. I get trouble-free internet service the 1st 10 days, the next 5-10 days the internet is slower than dial-up from the late 90’s. The last 10 days of the month the internet only works half the time. Meaning it JUST DOES NOT WORK. Pages don’t load or I’m unable to connect to the internet at all. $60/mo yet I’m only getting 15 days of usable service. Claiming they offer “Unlimited” service is just a LIE.

    Good and bad, in my local area phone service is very good, when traveling, sometimes get message that my phone is not registered on that network, so I have no reception. Reception overall not as good as my old Verizon service. Worst problem is that I rely on getting messages, pictures, etc. and my messaging does not receive anything but actual text messaging. If someone tries to send me contact info, or pictures or any form of message other than text, it does not receive it. Pure Talk says they use all the same towers as the major carriers, which may be the case, but the signal seems weaker, so we have a lot of conversations that have cutouts which makes it hard to understand.     I have three phone lines with Pure Talk, one on a Samsung Galaxy S10, and two others on Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G phones.     While the service is cheaper than the main carriers, you get what you pay for (cheap service). I don't have cell service close to my home, I spent 3 hours of total time having support set my phone to use wifi calling and set up voicemail. I heard that ads on my favorite talk shows, Sean H. and a few others, they claim to be just as good as other carriers; NOT. But like I said, it is cheap enough. I just have that phone forwarded (which took days for them to set up)to my main phone. At this stage of this company (early 90's equivalent of others) tech wise I wouldn't recommend them.

    I will be switching back to Straight Talk after this month. For the same price I had unlimited data regardless. And with Pure Talk they cut you off at 60g. So yea this will be my last month with pure talk. switched cause it said American owned and was unlimited data

    Ordered a new phone and I am waiting for it to arrive. I just wish you would use a different delivery service than Fedex. I prefer UPS because they give texts updates as to when the package will be delivered. So far we have liked the service with PureTalk and will continue to use it as long as we have great service.

    The coverage is so poor that we are concerned that if an emergency occurred we could not get help. If you are using the towers that Verizon uses then your technology is very poor. We have new 5G phones. We will have to look for another carrier. I have to use WIFI calling in my own home just to get out. There are times that we cannot call at all for hours, total blackout. Extremely disappointed.

    Overall 3 star because of the data speed and the service is not quite as good as AT&T. I thought we would be on the same towers. The phone even acts different when we are on Wi-Fi than it did before we switched. Price is better though so take the good with the bad.
