    Although the price is fabulous, the connectivity leaves a lot to be desired. The only reason I haven't cancelled is because I have a work phone to use a hot spot when I need to get online away from home. It's impossible to search the web or use any apps when I'm not on wi-fi. My plan is to go back to Verizon once I retire and no longer have a work phone to use for connectivity

    This phone service is every bit as good as the other major company we were with, but a lot less expensive. I never have dropped calls or slow service. The only suggestion I have is to make the website more user friendly for those who are already customers. It all seems to be geared toward those who are seeking to switch phone companies.

    Saving so much money using Pure Talk instead of AT&T. Just wish they had a physical store to go to when needed. The service is the exact same as AT&T just without the high monthly fees and no contract! Also can add unlimited lines to your account.     I’ve been with Pure talk a long time now. It is absolutely hard to get tech service if you have a problem. You keep getting referred or call back then you have to go through the whole service call again.     Hate the AUTO pay! From a consumer perspective you need to accommodate paper people. Nothing scorches my blood more than a company that forces the customer to adopt the next wave of technological change. Some things still matter. Not only that I'm paying for the service BEFORE it's received? Try doing that with your neighbor? Pay the kid to mow the grass before it's mowed. If I had another carrier option I would dump Pure Talk for that reason alone! To me it's just a solid indication the Pure Talk customers are just the blood bag for the executive board of the company, no different than any other company, no stand apart qualities and therefore no loyalty from the consumer.

    Pure Talk is very good. The price for the Pure Talk is reasonable. While your service is very good, the iPhone I received is THE WORST PHONE I HAVE EVER OWNED. I need to know how soon I can trade it in for an iPhone 13 MINI. The iPhone 13 is so heavy I have trouble using it. There are no words to describe the useless and confusing elements of this particular iPhone. It's the first time I ever purchased a phone online...believe me, NEVER AGAIN. The Weight alone is enough to have discouraged my purchase. However, I have seen the MINI version and its weight is fine.     He doesn't like it, he can't read anything on it, he barely uses it and wants me to get him a different one. We thought it would be easier for him because he doesn't use internet at all. But he is having a harder time than he had before with the more complicated phones.     I called to see about a new phone. When I ordered Pure Talk it showed my phone was compatible. Well, after setting up mine and my husband's they weren't. I had to get him a new one and now I have to get a new one. Mine works with talk and text but no data. Not real happy and feel I was taken advantage of.     Service has been good with two exceptions. Sometimes the system requires an area code for the area we are in. System should default to billing address area code or make it user definable.     We had PureTalk for a while. Liked the service and coverage. We dropped them when they started taking payments directly out of our account even though we were paying the extra fee so they wouldn't. Wasn't even the exact amount of the bill, they just charged some amount money to our card that we used for paying. When we called them on it, they would put it back. We tried to find out what was happening and why. Front line service techs would not or could not give us an answer, would only say "we put it back". We asked several times to speak to a supervisor. Every time we did, all the supervisors were busy. We tried staying on the line waiting for one. Set the phone down and did other things waiting for a manager to be free. Never happened.

    When we began inquiring about Pure Talk it was similar to our carrier except for the data allowances. We were told it would never be shut off - only slowed. What a huge fib!     If I could give this company zero Stars I would in the heartbeat. Not only did I waste my time and my money, but I apparently don't have the right plan to get a new phone on their website. The people I talked to told me that my phone was compatible to switch over to their carrier- but it turns out that was completely untrue and the people that I talked to had no idea what they were talking about. I gave them my model number and everything and they said it was compatible. But guess what? Now My phone can't make phone calls, send pictures through SMS, and sometimes flat-out won't even receive texts for hours. I had to use a buddy's phone to call them back explaining the problem but they told me my phone doesn't get phone coverage. Fine. I saved 50% on my bill but got 50% less coverage.

    Garbage service. Don't care if this is an American based company because if the other guys do it way better than why even bother switching? Wish I could give them a call to explain my frustrations but ironically enough I can't do that. What's worse is that I need a new phone in this moment and while shopping on their website I went through all the steps while selecting a new phone and when I finally tried to add my selection to the shopping cart, it tells me that my plan isn't valid for the deal? I'm supposed to be for a new customer or have a valid plan? That's absurd! If this doesn't get resolved by any supervisor at Puretalk, I'm going to leave this review here permanently and switch back to Verizon, because I had no problems with their service prior to this atrocity. If you have an existing phone that you need to switch carriers on, be very wary of this company.

    I could write pages but I will give you the reader's digest version. I went for the cheapest plan for $20 a month. I already had a compatible Android phone so no need for a new phone from them. It required a physical SIM chip to be installed and so PureTalk will ship out that SIM ciphered in the mail Fedex 2 day service. Received SIM chip 4 business days later. Was showing charged $29 instead of $20. I installed the SIM chip in my phone per the instructions provided. Turned on phone but did not connect to phone service, I could not make calls, I could not text...not good.

    I called their Customer Service phone # and had to wait long time for someone to answer and once they did answer the phone and given them my identification information they passed me on from one dept to the next with no good help to resolve my cell phone service I paid for. I spent hours on the phone passed on from one dept to another. What frustrating experience. I eventually got a refund due to the IT dept. there was not able to get my cell phone configured. I was only refunded $25 back from $29. Apparently they charge for the SIM card they mail out to you and no money back for that.

    Pure Talk often drops my calls. Also the setup for voice mail message is awkward and inconvenient. Instead of showing a list of received calls, one has to call up voice mail to hear each call & if the call is saved then one has to listen to all previous calls to get to a specific saved call that one would like to hear again. Please change the system for received calls to one that you can visually see a representation of the call like T-Mobile & Verizon systems do. Thanks.

    On 10/25/23 called PureTalk to confirm 2015 s9+ would work with the offered sims card, told absolutely and informed it was universal. Today, 11/1/23 called to activate the two s9+ phones, wasted almost two hours just to be eventually informed the phone Androids version must be 11 or later. Couldn't be informed before the wasted time? Didn't see it on website, and informed by customer service it would work. Lousy experience and waste of time.

    Your website is not user friendly. I tried setting up my account but kept getting rejected even while talking with a customer service rep. Even with security questions. Later I found a response for every time I had enter even though I got denied every time. Once in website I could see what I was charged for taxes but could never view my bill to me they should be together. So I can’t see the breakdown on my bill or understand the usage.     I had to send my phone to BLU because the voice was hard to hear. When I received my phone back from BLU it didn't have my battery in it. I received my phone on 10/10 and as of today 10/19 I have not received my battery. I am going to discontinue service with Pure Talk and go to someone else.     When we heard about PureTalk it sounded like a great deal, but after we switched we found out that it used AT&T which is what we were trying to get away from because the reception was so hit or miss in our location.     The transition to Puretalk was easy and efficient. Saving about $25/month on two accounts vs. our old provider. Texting and phone have worked well, although I only get LTE and not 5G on my Iphone. The drawback has been the data. It is very inconsistent and very slow, usually timing out. Even when I have 4 or 5 bars. If the data situation was improved that would be huge. Right now trying to decide if the savings is worth the loss of data efficiency.

    When I changed from T Mobile it was a sad day. The customer service tech was unhelpful when I tried to set up speed dial for my husband who has neuropathy in his hands. After 4 phone calls I was told your firm does not support speed dial. Told in a not so kind manner. Also every time I "open" my phone there is an advertisement that must be cleared. Your cost is very low, for good reason, you get what you pay for. I will not recommend Pure Talk to anyone, unless cost is the only matter.

I tried calling them but when I dial 611 on my phone all I get is two strange beeps and it hangs up, so I called the 877 number which tells you that you will be charged for using the number and to call 611 from you phone LOL! I hung up and tried calling 611 about eight more times and gave up. Then, after two years of NEVER being late on a single payment they sent me a nasty-gram (via email) stating that my (old) debit card was declined and that I had 24 hours to make payment or they were turning off my service. How am I going to make payment if I can't update the address? I know the address must match what is on file for the bank/debit card!

    Eventually, I was able to update the address, kind of; they now have the correct street address but WRONG state! Even though I have the correct zip code filled in! This isn't an error on my part, I built computers and websites for years, I may be retired but I can still turn a toaster into a computer! (I'm not joking.) Regardless, you really do get what you pay for. I have to go back to Verizon, I may have to pay more but at least they have customer service!

    I have been a customer since early 21, with the exception of changing to go out of the country this year. I am on a monthly plan which renews automatically. However, since June or July, there have been FOUR instances when my phone dropped calls and said I needed had to immediately contact PureTalk. They had to refresh my account. Prior to this, I've had no problem. if it happens again, I will have no choice but to change providers. TRULY don't want to do that. customer service have ALWAYS been nice and helpful.     When away from home, I frequently need to use my phone as a hotspot, since WIFI performance and security vary substantially. My previous providers would choke hotspot performance after 4 GB of data usage. This disappears pretty quickly if doing much video.     The phone is the worst phone I have ever owned. If it gets bumped it restarts. It takes a long time to figure out Bluetooth direction.     The customer service aspect when making the switch to PureTalk was totally fine. My primary concern is that the cell service is inconsistent. Call/text is just fine. However, the LTE or 5G data is not great and unreliable. I experience buffering far too frequently. It is a problem I did not experience with my prior carrier (T-Mobile). When I look at the "Cellular Data" info under my Settings it has not reset since joining PureTalk (June '23) and is up to over 62 GB in the "Current Period". I don't know if that is the problem. With my previous carrier I would get alerts letting me know if I was starting to run low on data and then it would reset with the next pay period. In short, something is not right and it is frustrating me. My wife is having similar issues with her service as well. This will not work for us long term unless something changes.

    I was fed up with the big service companies and the hassle of upgrading my devices, poor customer service, and extremely overpriced everything that comes with them. Going round and round with them, and getting ZERO help from their poor, programmed associates that have to go by their protocol, was just too much.     When we had a problem with cell coverage, PureTalk Customer Service told us that they use AT&T's cell towers, but not all of their cell towers stating that the coverage may not always be as good as our prior AT&T coverage.     In early August, I decided to switch from Boost Mobile to PureTalk since Boost Mobile data was dropping off in the middle of the month, and I was told that I would have to wait until next month for the data to be used. Also, they always had problems with their app, and I couldn't log into my account through their website.

    I called and asked if I could use my current phone and if I could switch over my phone number. I told the customer service rep my IMEI number, and she told me that my phone was compatible with PureTalk. A little over a week passed, and I was told by a different representative that the phone that I had wasn't compatible, and that was why I couldn't make or receive phone calls. I waited that long because I was told that I had to wait for the transfer and that it could take a while sometimes.

    So, I asked if I could buy a new phone since I didn't want to deal with switching to a different company just to keep my phone number. He said no since I was a customer, even though I was still in the trial period. Since I paid for the SIM card to be delivered and activated the account, which I wouldn't have done if I was told that my phone wasn't compatible! But he told me that if I wanted the new phone and to keep my phone number, I would have to switch providers, switch back to PureTalk, and buy a new phone to get a deal.

    Later, I chose Mint Mobile, and I was actually saving money as opposed to the "discount" of $2.00 coming from Boost Mobile to PureTalk ($35.00 to $33.00 a month). Now, I signed up during the summer sale and got $15 for 3 months and it goes up to $20.00 a month regularly, plus I pay every 3 months! So, that's $60.00 every 3 months for the same data plan. Whatever. But when I tried to transfer over my phone number to Mint, it wasn't being released by PureTalk. I waited and kept getting the runaround; I assume to let the refundable trial period expire.

    I spoke to a customer rep again, & I explained the situation and she said, verbatim... "when you transfer back, then you can get your number back!" and hung up the phone. I called back & explained the situation to a completely different customer representative and she processed & rectified the release of my phone number. That was the end of my ordeal; ugh. I swear on myself that this actually happened. Since they inform you that all the customer service calls are recorded and I assume logged, then it should be able to look up my phone calls by name.

    Updated on 2/25/2024: When I received my phone there was no charger and no instruction book! I had to go online to get a book but it only has things beyond basic functions of how to use it. Digital people are not nice at all they don't take into account others that don't know about computers and so called "smart phones"; that really aren't smart, just complicated! So now I have a phone, I can finally after after much hard work I can only make phone calls, text and photos and that is it and nothing else not even the light. I think it has one. I don't really know.

I had to purchase them myself and even the Manual didn't show me how to check for text or voice mails. If you really want to help call me or email.

    Original Review: First you didn't provide an instruction book or a charger, I had to find and purchase them myself. The trouble, the book is no help and it is exactly the same information as the one online. I still don't know how to use it. I can't even find the text reading function on the phone. The so-called smart phone has been a waste of money for me, at least I was able to use ALL the functions on my old Jitterbug phone. These so-called smart phones are too complicated!

    We transferred two phones from VERIZON to PureTalk; an iPhone 13 (mine) and an iPhone 11 (my wife's). Electronic SIM setup worked easily for my i13 using your computer assistance. Installing the electronic SIM onto my wife's i11 needed two separate technical assistance calls. The problem with your technical assistance was long waits and degree of knowledge and helpfulness of the technicians. We also had difficulty setting up our mailboxes with a tech who took over a half hour and still not getting it set up. A second tech handled the problem with a few clicks on each of our phones.

    Glad to have US support. That is why I changed. But now I am paying more & got nothing but tech problems despite speaking with them 15 times. Every rep has a different & contradictory explanation. Any fixes are temporary. Multiple Requested case be opened; last contact told me first case was never submitted or passed on. He said he would open another case but never heard back & problems are continuing. Training is desperately needed of their phone representatives and tech coordination with AT&T is clearly not what it needs to be.

    Review the recordings of my multiple conversations with Pure Talk customer service on September 2nd or 3rd. It was the worst customer service experience ever. Listen to the 4 or 5 tapes and you will understand. Secondly, Pure Talk states on their website free calling to 70+ countries, I needed to call some hotels in Canada to cancel reservations so as not to be charged. I had to pay $5.00 to call Canada which is 60 miles from my home and wait 2 days before I could make a call? Borrowed a neighbor's phone so I could cancel that day without being charged. As far as I'm concerned Pure Talk dropped the ball.

    I really like supporting and using Pure Talk, and I like how easy it is to use my phone. HOWEVER I have only used your service for a short time and have broken three phones. The phone I am presently using (the 3rd) got slightly broken only two days after activating it. I never had a problem with the TracFones I'd had for years. This brand seems to break very easily.     I'm an OTR Truck Driver, great cell service is extremely important! I've tried all other major cell companies with Verizon being top for me, until I tried Pure Talk!!!     When we are not on our home wifi, messages to groups will not go out and we cannot download messages. Sitting at home we cannot receive phone calls or send messages. Phone message is no service at this time. Our phones have been reset several times by Pure Talk. If we get on a friend's wifi we have to turn our phones off and on to reconnect successfully to our home wifi.

    Since moving from Verizon to Pure Talk I have not had any dropped calls, with Verizon I would have around one a month. I am also able to get a good signal in my office where everyone else has to rely on the WiFi. I am also able to get 5G+ and 5G but when I was with Verizon it would drop to 4G or LTE.     Your service has been as good as my previous AT&T service. But I have an iPhone and my test message bubbles should be blue but they are turning up green on some other iPhone user accounts. I understand when the other users on Android products will be green but why green when messages to another iPhone account. One such example is a husband and wife on the same Verizon account, her message bubbles are blue sometimes and green sometime. His is always green message bubbles. They both have iPhones. My brother is on Verizon with an iPhone and I get blue bubbles and green bubbles other messages.

    For the most part I am happy with my experience, the only issue we are having is with Coverage. We had AT&T prior to PureTalk and almost never had an issue with coverage. The reason I switched to PureTalk was to lower my cell phone Bill and because they used AT&T cell towers for coverage and claimed it was the same, but we keep finding dead zones or poor reception that was not there before.     If you leave your home, no service. Even on unlimited talk/text they cap your data. Phone itself goes blank/black often. Apps automatically shut off. I can't even call them to cancel... Phone won't work long enough.

    I had service with Spectrum Mobile, I had no issues with them, however needing to save money and switch to Vexus Fiber I would lose Spectrum Mobile. I moved to PureTalk, got a new Samsun g 5G smart phone, with the $ 30.00 plan. The winning point they did allow hot-spot tethering at no additional cost. Customer support in the USA was a winning point also: no speaking with foreigners.     Overall we're OK with the service. We have more storage on our phones. I had trouble with my sim card. Service was interrupted and a message in settings stated there was no sim card. I did the recommended steps and the phone operated OK. This happened a number of times beginning just over a month after receiving and using the phone. Finally contacted customer service who sent me a new sim card. It's been working fine thus far. 2) We're not impressed with the mobile hot spot for internet. It's slower than we thought it would be and is interrupted at times. We're using another source for internet that is more reliable and fast. I'd like to go to a lower plan since we're not using all the data allowed.

    Good service. Good customer service experience when I need assistance. Only thing that I miss is the included hotspot in my plan. All in all a good product that I will recommend to family and friends. I also wished that the data plan could be more. Upon hearing that there are unlimited data plans available AFTER I switched my plan from Verizon was very disappointing as I am not sure why they don’t offer that anyway to all.     I am extremely disappointed with PureTalk. My wife and I decided for a couple reasons that we would leave T-Mobile and give them a try if we could keep our numbers and our phones. We were assured that our phones were compatible and that there wouldn't be any problems switching service. Last Wednesday the sim cards arrived, and after porting our numbers, we inserted them in our phones. That's when the trouble began. Neither phone worked properly. I spent two hours on my wife's phone that sort of worked dealing with tech support. Most of the time I was on hold. When I did connect the call was dropped two or three times. Tech support couldn't call back because neither phone would accept calls. I gave up.

    The next morning, which, coincidentally, was our 50th wedding anniversary, I decided to give it another go. I borrowed my daughter's phone hoping the call wouldn't be dropped. Getting ahold of tech support is a pain when you're using a non-subscriber's phone, but I finally got through. Then I spent a long time on hold until someone answered. As I was talking to tech support and going through all sorts of maneuvers on my malfunctioning phone, I was dropped again. This time tech support called back because my daughter's phone actually works. I finally got to someone who had me do a lot of stuff on my phone that didn't work. She concluded that our phones wouldn't work on PureTalk for some proprietary reason.

    My wife and I were disappointed, but we decided that if we could get away from T-Mobile, it would be worth it to buy new phones. We looked at the Pure Talk phones and decided that Samsung S23's at $549.99 would be something we could make work, so we called the sales department. By this time I had been dealing with PureTalk problems for over four hours on our anniversary.

    I called the sales department and informed the agent that we would like to purchase two Samsung S23's at $549.99 each. She said we would have to pay $799.99 for each phone because, even though we hadn't experienced five minutes of service from PureTalk, we weren't new customers, and the $549.99 price was for new customers. I asked to speak to a supervisor. She put me on hold and went to get one. Some time later she informed me that all the supervisors must be in a meeting. She asked if I would like a call back. I told her to forget about it. We were going back to T-Mobile. And that's what we did. T-Mobile charged us $80 to reconnect, and we were up and running in under an hour. We were able to get reliable phone service and still had time enough to enjoy a fabulous 50th Anniversary dinner. Our Pure Talk nightmare is over.

    I have been wanting to switch from AT&T for a while now and have heard the add for this company on several AM radio shows I listen to in the Houston area. I reviewed the plans on the website and called to set something up. I gave the promo code from the Jesse Kelly show and that was never applied. I was then told that the package I picked on the website wasn't available at that price anymore but I could get a similar price (which was more) if I got a plan with a used phone that would have a new phone warranty which I did.

    When I called back to discuss problems I was having with the phone and the service, I was told that I was sent a new phone and there was no record I was ever sent a used phone and nothing was accomplished. I do have the purchase email that states it was a used phone. My issues are that the website should be updated to what the new prices are, the discount from the promo code was never applied, and although it is very easy to call customer service and get a live person faster than any other cell company I have used in the past, they couldn't help and denied that I was sent a used phone! It was very easy to switch the service and shipping the phone was fast. I planned on switching my wife over to this service as well but we are going to keep her with AT&T because of my experience.

    I don't understand why PureTalk would have an incompetent verification system. When I call in I'm asked my name. And when I'm asked to verify myself, I'm asked my name AGAIN. Why do I have to do this twice? The customer service rep said she couldn't sign me in unless I gave my name twice. What? It comes across as incompetent reps and company. I wish I had time in my life to do everything twice. I would like to know why Pure Talk would have an incompetent system that only frustrates their customers!

    Before signing up for the service I was informed that my phone was completely compatible with the Pure Talk network. Once signing up I received the SIM card in 3 days. Placed in all required information and discontinued from my previous service provider. Now I have no service. Come to find out my phone is not compatible with Pure Talk and now I no longer have access to my original phone number. Only to be placed on hold forever with conversations that go nowhere. Now I'm out of a phone. Borrowing other people phones to make calls. Plus all my accounts ask for 2nd strap authentication thru my phone number. This company is fraudulent and should be held liable for the situation that they have placed me in. Stay clear from this headache of a start up company.
