I had no choice but to use this company, and because of this, they have chosen to rip me off in every way possible. I have been a customer since 2017. I have never been late on a payment. Because I did not know that you have to call them regularly, pretend to cancel, and get a better rate, I have paid close to 90.00 a month for very slow speeds. I was told this directly by their customer retention specialist that this was the only way to get a decent rate. She then accused me of having poor credit. Outages and slow speeds since I started. Glad there are finally options but if you have a choice stay away.

Spectrum is the absolute worst.... Numerous outages, horrible customer service, technicians that come into the house cussing about their managers and doing absolute shoddy work and leaving without fixing the problem... If there was another option I would have already been gone. I can't wait for ATT Fiber to move Into the neighborhood.

Today I have been on the phone over 3 hrs. Yesterday 1 hr. Still cannot get the correct person to help as they seem to always pass you to another department or just say they are and put you on a hold process to the point of 17 min. hold then tell you the same call again or transfer!! I have never see a company so inefficient to service their customers. We made the mistake of having 3 of our locations use it and it the internet is always slow or down and can't get anyone to come out. It is such a terrible ran company. I would switch but they have us as our small gated community with 15 homes is only allowed Spectrum here!!! I HATE and I don't use that word often but HATE this company & would give it a zero in all aspects of their ability to run a company.

Moved to new house. Spectrum guy on phone said they service our address. Somebody comes out with modem and router couple days later. Won’t install it. Said it’s easy, we can do it ourselves. 3 days later still no internet. On phone with guy again asking for someone to come out and set up it’s not easy and it’s not working. He rudely says he’ll send someone out like we are the idiots. I asked him- what cost Spectrum more - having countless people like him on the clock to be on the phone with idiots like me for hours on end or just paying the guy they already paid to come all the way out to our house to deliver the thing an extra 5 min to install it. If it’s just so easy a monkey could do it why not just come inside real quick and do it?
Another couple days later the tech comes out to hook it up, I’m out back and notice he’s still here after about 30-45 min. I go out to ask him how he’s doing and what’s going on. He’s got an extension ladder out, is running a new cable from a power pole over our house, he’s starting to staple or drill holes into our wooden home. I stop him and ask what he’s doing. He says the boxes I spent 3 days trying to hook up don’t work because there isn’t a line running to the house. Probably should have been something the arrogant guy on the phone should have easily been able to look up. I
tell him to cancel it. He refuses to leave my property. Gets on the phone with his manager. His manager says my wife’s name is on the account so he needs to talk to her before they leave. I calmly walked inside and tried not to react. It’s 100 degrees out so I figure he can sit out there on the clock all night if he wants. He eventually leaves.
Now we have to return their junk they left here or they’ll charge us. So I’m supposed to install the stuff to a house you don’t have connected, you didn’t tell me it wasn’t connected to spectrum's lines, now I have to return your equipment when you had a guy here that could have taken it with him? Called frontier and they were out next day and hooked up internet in 5 min. And they are less than half price. These people need to be sued. I don’t work for you. Your useless equipment you dumped on my lawn is your problem. Why is it on me to bring it back to you? What planet do you live on?

It hadn't been entered, even tho I got a email for the time. Spoke to them again, another appt. set. Waited, no one called. R came. No one had contacted me. Red flags. Yelp reviews were 1.6. Anything good written about them is suspicious and should be ignored. I would say they are incompetent & without a competent ceo that cares. I haven’t found an internet provider yet.

No one cares about a helpful review. Spectrum equipment is CHEAP. I have had my equipment replaced 3 times in 2 years since starting my service. Never had this issue with other internet carriers. It is an inconvenience especially when working remotely. The service goes or equipment quits at any moment. Morning, noon or late at night when the company is closed. The customer service reps have no care in this matter besides giving you 3 options. I have to wait 2 hours to go into a store which makes me late for work. I mean come on now. And they have the nerve to charge $84.99 a month. I would NOT suggest Spectrum to anyone. As soon as I am able, I am switching my service.

For starters the Spectrum customer service chat is something spectrum should discontinue, automated bots just make customer angrier and trying to pass off as live agents is getting more problematic. And the live agents that customer calls are rude and disrespectful all while sending out the scripted apologies but never resolving issue or advising why there is a problem. My issue is that I have been on spectrum for 2 years and my services tend to go offline every night normally 3-5 nights consecutively and then random outages over the next several days. This occurs so often that I could not tell you the amount of actual time it has been unavailable but it is often and happens regularly.
I get every type of excuse from there in nothing showing in your end to there are emergency repairs in your area. I find that if there are that many emergency repairs that have to be made that spectrum is not as reliable as advertised. I have given up on trying to get spectrum to provide the 1g bandwidth that I am paying for because I have been lied to for the past two years on what my Internet connect speed is, but when the system goes completely out all the time and when it is on it is sketchy at best with low signal, buffering, pixilating and freezing for hours at a time is unacceptable. Then to have a customer service person in another state that has no clue, bark at me and insult my intelligence is extremely unacceptable.
There have been claims that a credit would be applied to my account, however that has also been a lie, and any miniscule credits that may have occurred do not compensate for the loss of work I have had over the last two years. Also, throwing service credit at us does not fix the underling problem if an unreliable service and local company doing little or nothing to resolve the issues. Spectrum is participating in false advertising, not providing services that are paid for and a total lack of customer service and since it is basically a monopoly on my area, spectrum does not care.

We've had Spectrum at our last three homes (10+ years of service cumulatively) but due to prices continuing to increase while their service continues to get worse (multiple times a month where internet has been down or spotty at all different times of the day), we decided to switch to a different internet provider. Spectrum claims to be a subscription service and in my experience with other subscription based services, you can call (or request online!) to put in a cancellation request at any time during the service period, and they will approve it but they will keep your subscription active till the end of the billing cycle. Not Spectrum!
When we called to cancel our service we were told that our internet would be cancelled the day we called, but we were still on the hook for the full bill. We called to cancel halfway thru our service billing period. For a company as big as Spectrum, why can't they handle an early cancellation request? Doesn't seem very customer friendly or customer oriented to me. Just beware, in order to not be out any money, YOU have to call specifically on the last day of service to cancel. But don't worry, before they grant you the privilege of cancelling, they'll throw discounts at you to get you to stay and if that doesn't work, they'll throw in some high-pressured tactics to get you stay too.
Only after all that, will they entertain cancelling your subscription. They say their cancellation policy is listed on their bill but nowhere on the front or back of my most recent bill (July 2025) do they state the cancellation policy...how convenient. For me, this is a VERY shady business practice, poor customer service and I will be staying far away from Spectrum moving forward.

I have been a Spectrum customer for 4 yrs. Due to constant increase in price, started at 120s. When I decided to change service it was $250. I truly had little to no issues with the actual service, just the price. Payments were autopay and never late. So we change services and I call for disconnect. 1st call to customer service for disconnect. The gentleman was so aggressively argumentative about me staying with Spectrum, would not listen, keep talking over me, dogging my choice of providers, that I final had to hang up. Service not disconnected.
2nd attempt 2 days later. I take all my equipment to the Spectrum store, my plan is to disconnect and turn in equipment at the same time. Enter the store as soon. As they open, before I'm even 5 ft in the store, I'm told after asking what I needed that I needed to disconnect through customer service and take equipment to UPS. 3rd attempt. I call customer service again on my way to UPS. The young man I got on the phone of course was trying to talk me out of changing, as per their job, until he refused to disconnect. So my upcoming bill due to be autopay in 2 weeks. He said he would not disconnect unless I paid it then. I told him after he refused, laughed and REFUSED TO LET ME TALK TO HIS SUPERVISOR. Kept saying supervisor was busy.
For approx. 10 minutes I told him that I wanted his supervisor and he refused. He continued to state he would not disconnect unless I paid the bill that was due in 2 weeks. I told him the final bill would be sent to me or autopay as usual. Still refused. I told him that it was illegal to refuse to stop a service at my request. I told him I was going as high in Spectrum as I could and notifying the FCC, and the BBB (which they are not even BBB accredited). After this he told me he would disconnect. I didn't believe him.
4th interaction. I call customer service back and get a very nice lady listened to me explain all my interactions and notified a supervisor. Of course the previous gentlemen had not put in a disconnect. She handled the disconnect and the supervisor was listening to the tapes of the calls of the other gentlemen that gave me such a hard time. Needless to say I will NEVER be a customer of SPECTRUM again, NOT EVER. The customer service can make or break a company.

Avoid Spectrum if you can. Local service providers are available all over the country, and those have a huge incentive to provide much better customer service. We had Spectrum for a while because it was the only choice. As our service became less reliable due to frequent neighborhood-wide outages, they charged more and more for the service each renewal. After threatening to cancel, they agreed to lower the rate temporarily. My condo building switched to a local provider, which provided much better speeds and service. I guess 1 Gbps isn't the same to Spectrum as it is to Ellum Net. When I cancelled, they still charged me for the remainder of the billing period even after disconnecting my service and receiving my returned modems.* I went up and down the phone escalation tree and even social media explaining that I could no longer use the service if I wanted to, but they refused to prorate.
Even returning the modems was a chore. I had to go to a store, sign in, wait for somebody to call me up, and then verify my identity to return my modems. It took me half an hour. Then they tried to tell me that they couldn't dispose of the box or extra cords and I would have to leave with the box. I figured they wasted enough of my time, they could stand to get rid of the extra garbage they sent me. I walked out sans box. * I had two modems. When I threatened to cancel previously, they told me that my modem was "not happy" and would need replacement, though I never had any problems with the modem itself. The replacement they sent me didn't work at all.

We have a higher package which includes 170 channels. Lately we have noticed that we are losing some of the channels we watch. I called and they said these channels have been moved to our Entertainment pkg and if you want them back you have to pay an additional $15 a month. And, yet the price of the original pkg stays the same. You start out paying a low price and then they slowly raise the rates and take away channels. We started out at about $120 for 3 tvs including dvr and now less than 3 yrs later we are at $170 for one TV with DVR box. Do not switch to Spectrum...you will regret it!!

**Spectrum Internet Review**. I am extremely frustrated with Spectrum Internet and feel compelled to share my experience. The service has been nothing short of a nightmare. The connection constantly goes in and out, making it nearly impossible to rely on for work or entertainment. It's infuriating to deal with such an unstable service in this day and age.
To add insult to injury, their billing policy is equally appalling. When I sold my house and requested a disconnection, I was shocked to find out that they charged me for the entire month—even though I was only a customer for a single day into the new billing cycle. There’s no prorating, which feels incredibly unfair and exploitative. Overall, my experience with Spectrum has been overwhelmingly negative. I despise their service and their policies. I would strongly advise anyone considering their internet service to think twice. Save yourself the headache and look for a more reliable and customer-friendly provider.

I've been a great customer for 31/2 years, never late with a payment and didn't ask them to buy me out of my old carrier. At first they were great, and I had all 3 services, cable, internet, mobile. Then slowly, Spectrum became like everybody else by slowly increasing their rates. I eventually canceled the cable but kept the other two. Then recently, I received notification of a rate increase on our internet. I called to see if they would work with me because I had been a good customer and paid on time every month.
They said there was nothing they could do, so I cancelled the internet and was never informed my mobile bill would increase. Then I got a new upgrade on phone because my battery was dying for the first time in 31/2 years. A few weeks later, I was notified my mobile bill was going up $20 because I cancelled internet. I again called and asked if Spectrum would work with me and was rejected. As a result, I cancelled my mobile number, and then they wouldn't release my phone number even though I paid my full balance. I had already set everything up with ATT before so when it came time for the transfer the phone they refused to release my number.
The only way ATT could keep my number was to pay for another line and had to get a new phone. I will have to pay an extra $30 for 3 months now as a 3rd line. Even the agent for ATT, said he had never heard of the other carriers do this and said how Spectrum had gone down hill. Thank you Spectrum for treating not only a long time customer and Veteran like complete trash but giving me a complete mental breakdown for 3 days that I was left without a phone. If you are unfortunate enough to be stuck in one of the Spectrum monopoly areas and no other choice be prepared for your price to go up yearly and quality never get better. Internet for me goes out at least once a week usually more, they will provide you with the cheapest modems and charge you monthly for wifi, even though it's built into the modem anyways and they have to simply check a box at the office saying "WiFi on". I'd recommend getting your own routers for wifi to save the couple bucks and have better wifi coverage, also have them set your modem to "bridge mode".
Other things you'll notice is your internet randomly being throttled till you call them and magically your speeds are back to normal. Usually every year or so you'll get a free speed upgrade, shortly followed by a price hike, and no ability to downgrade to a lower speed to save money. When I started with them we were at $40 a month, now it's $90 for only internet.

Have had Spectrum since 2022 - they are the only provider in the Deltona area and have an unfair monopoly! They've increased my rate every year by $20 after the 1 year promotion. When it went up to $90 this year I had enough! After an hour on the phone and 4 different reps, they gave me another promotion for a year, at $50. I have 3 weeks of unused service left on this billing cycle but Spectrum refuses to prorate my months lower...and are still charging me $90 for 3 weeks I have not used yet!
They REFUSED to prorate the $90 bill to the $50 rate - AND they refused to start the new rate at the end of my billing cycle. They prorate in NYC and Maine, because it's the law there! But it's not a Florida law! So I am overpaying for this month and loosing a month of their so called promotional rate because no it will end next year - 1 month early!
This is such a shady and should be illegal practice! What are the Florida politicians doing to protect consumers!! Politicians don't care about the people they represent...and we as consumers just pay and pay, and do nothing to fight these corporate crooks! We need radically new policy focusing on the people...not corporate protections!

This is an unethical business practice because had it been communicated, I would have kept my service until the last day of the billing cycle to actually use the product I was paying for. Due to your representative not communicating this information, I cancelled my service 2 days into the billing cycle. That means that Spectrum gets an entire months worth of my money while only providing service for 2 days.
I stopped service on June 26, which is 2 days into the billing cycle. The spectrum representative did NOT communicate that I would still be charged for the entire month. During a chat, you mentioned that there is no prorate available and that I will be charged for the full month anyway. The sales rep informed me she couldn’t provide exact pricing without some information: Full name (to verify I did not have any outstanding bills with Spectrum), address (to see if internet service is available), phone number (in case connection was lost, she could call me back) and finally my email address (to send the requested information or quote to). After figuring out what my best plan would be, she gave me the price quote over the phone and communicated that all info would also be emailed to me. Simple, right?
To my utterly surprise, next day I received emails from Spectrum thanking me for my order (what?), giving me my security code, client and order numbers ( but, I never ordered anything!). A separate email listed the installation procedure and pointed out that - and this is the scary part - billing would start 8 days after the starter kit was shipped to me. Needless to say I needed to cancel this bogus order quickly to avoid receiving bills from Spectrum. Called Spectrum sales again and after a long back-and-forth conversation I was able to cancel this fraudulent order. I got an order cancellation message. So, be very vigilant with Spectrum sales reps. Asking questions implies ordering!

I have been a loyal customer of Spectrum for over 10 years, and I honestly regret every moment of that loyalty. My experience recently has been nothing short of a nightmare. My phone was stolen, and I immediately contacted Spectrum to resolve the issue. I wanted to settle the outstanding balance on the stolen device. However, Spectrum's policies are utterly ridiculous and unjust. Despite being willing to pay the device or make a payment cost and past due bills, they flat-out refuse to allow me to access or use my other phone lines. Their small print hidden away in what can only be described as five pages of confusing, unreadable legal jargon states that if you don’t pay for a stolen device, you will *not* be allowed to use any of your other services. This is not clearly communicated upfront, and it feels like a bait-and-switch tactic designed to maximize their profits at the expense of customers.
What’s even more infuriating is that they will accept your payment but then immediately cut off your access to all services, leaving you stranded and completely powerless. This is not just unfair; it’s downright cruel. They make it nearly impossible to resolve issues without losing everything. After a decade of loyalty, this is how they treat their customers? I will be looking for a new provider immediately. Spectrum’s policies are archaic, their customer service is terrible, and their approach to handling stolen devices and payments is unjustifiable. I do have insurance on the device. I just couldn’t recall at the time.

CUSTOMER SOLUTIONS!!! Yes initial and promotional prices do expire, but the customer solutions department will apply new ones. You just have to call them. Yes it’s an inconvenience to remember but for three years running I have had great agents. I know it’s part of their job to let you know about other products and I was never forced to take any of them and still given great promotions on my Internet. All of the agents I have spoke to were either in Florida or Texas, Very polite and could understand them clearly. I only had one issue in the five years I’ve been in this house and it was not their fault but we had a very bad thunderstorm and the line from the pole to the house got damaged, but I had a tech out the next morning he ran a new line and also updated my equipment ALL FREE OF CHARGE!
I seen a lot of complaints on here about them not prorating and it is clearly printed on each bill, It is not a secret and no one should be surprised. I also like that they verify your identity. Yeah, it may be a pain in the butt, but at the end of the day, it is protecting the integrity of your personal information. And with the amount of scammers and scam calls, it never hurts to take precaution. I did a lot of comparison before I made my decision to go with spectrum and felt they were the best choice. T-Mobile what they just got their third FCC fine for leaking data and personal info, Verizon 5G you better live close to a tower and it better not rain and don’t ever think that you can work from home using it!!!
People are all about fiber, fiber, fiber, well guess what fiber is glass and when it breaks, it takes a long time for it to get repaired not to mention if you get AT&T, they charge you $150 call out and they offer no outage credits. Two months later, I've started receiving phone calls saying I owe $69 dollars because the rep. didn't close my account on April 28 as per my request. Mind you I did ask and reported the account should've been closed on April 28. May 10 I asked why they are calling me so much when I already told them and put the request on April, 10. They knew the billing cycle was going to end before the new one and they didn't close the account until then. Isn't that taking advantage of a good person? There isn't a single customer service person in that company worth the pay they are getting because none of them have answers as to if the holes will be filled in and leveled so I won't have to work around them like I did a active cable in my yard.

If we are lucky we get 1 to 4 hours a day of internet. We have no cable service or phone because of price. Each time the tech says they are escalating the issue, yet no response is ever heard. I called today and all escalations have been closed and shown repaired. I had a customer service run a diagnostics on my service and she said we had no visible connection at all. Her words were, "Packets keep dropping to no signal strength."
My wife is disabled with MS, I work full time but have cameras inside to keep a watch on her periodically thru the day, as I work close enough I could be home in minutes. with no internet the cameras are useless. If we are are paying for a service, why are we not given consideration when there is a known issue? I’ve had nonstop internet problems with Spectrum for over two years, all due to a known issue with the node that services my area. The technicians who come out always acknowledge it’s the node, not anything in my house but customer service never does. They act like every call is a new issue and refuse to escalate anything until a technician comes out first.
This means I’m constantly forced to schedule technician appointments, even though the root of the problem is outside my home. While the techs do show up (credit where it’s due), I’ve had to take time off or rearrange my schedule countless times just to let someone in for a problem that’s clearly on Spectrum’s end. Meanwhile, customer service is no help at all, uninformed, unhelpful, and often rude. It’s incredibly frustrating to be stuck in this loop with no resolution, just the same excuses over and over. If you have any other option for internet, take it. Spectrum has been a huge waste of time and money.

Spectrum used to think they were the monopoly of cable and internet services and because of that, every single year they would increase their rates. It used to be a dollar or a couple dollars increase and now every year it would increase fives dollars with no new perks added to make sense of the increase. I was few up and got rid of cable by getting an antenna instead and got all my local channels for free and that's all I watched anyways. Then they keep increasing my internet to make up for it.
I was so frustrated until finally there was light at the end of the tunnel when new services became available in my area, Greenlight Networks and Empire Access, both using fiber optic technology for its internet service. I was paying $89 a month for 500 Mbps with Spectrum. Both Greenlight Networks and Empire Access offer 500 Mbps for $55 a month! That's right, $55 a month compared to what I was paying at $89 a month. That's a $34 difference a month! So darn right I jumped at switching and went with Greenlight Networks because they were available in my area first.
I have been satisfied since. I have had it for two years so far with no increase and Greenlight Network's internet is super-fast and I have had no issues since I became a customer. Spectrum messed up by being money hungry and cocky thinking they were the only internet service available besides Verizon & T-mobile internet service, which I didn't care for their service either because you're only allowed a certain amount of internet service data before their speed drops significantly. So the saviors for me were that new services like Greenlight Networks and Empire Access are becoming popular and available.
It's unfortunate that Spectrum ruined it for themselves by being so greedy, because their service, for the many years I had it, was great with hardly ever any issues and I have never had any complaints with their customer service. So because they kept raising their rates every year, they lost me as a customer, and my father also, who went with Empire Access.
Now I get in the mail, almost every day, a special offer from Spectrum for a very low price to reconnect with them for services. Yeah right, Spectrum. It would be that price until the year was up and then it would be back to ridiculous increase rates so nope, I'm fine with my new service provider. You have no one to blame but yourself for losing me as a customer and I am not returning as one no matter what special offer you give me. My advice to anyone that is fed up with Spectrum is to see if new service providers like Greenlight Networks or Empire Access are available in your area and go with them. You won't be disappointed. I'm sure not. I finally found a way out of their hold on me.

Few instances in life have made me put priorities on hold and resort to writing to inform the general public what a travesty Spectrum truly is. I have nothing to really gain out of writing this review but would rest easier knowing that other folks and prospective customers truly know what they're getting themselves into by signing up.
Their customer service is the worst I have personally encountered in any business I have ever dealt with. The staff is woefully under-trained, uninformed, rude, short, and quite frankly...trash. Am I painting with a broad brush? Perhaps but each and every one of my experiences has been nightmarish. Our family has been a "valued member" since 1978, or so my monthly statement reminds me and I cannot believe the service this company now provides. 'Service' being the oxymoron in the previous sentence.
With just about each and every bill, your overall rate will increase. It's almost like a test really, pushing it and seeing how far they can raise their rates until you threaten them with disconnection. Sort of reminds me of dealing with the Mafia in a way...you'll pay us each and every month for the service you get AND LIKE IT. Have a complaint? Call one of our tough guys for some bullying and any other insult (as long as there is no cursing/foul language) being used. TOTAL debt collector, deadbeat mentality and zero training. Expect to be passed on and on and on, repeating the same account numbers, secret codes, and other nonsense until the genius your speaking with like Bob from Minnesota passed you along until you reach the ultimate big leagues, James from "upper management" who simply fails to solve any problems and just gets mouthy and more abusive. This is how they operate, or, at least, in my experience.
They wait until you've been passed around a bit and time wasted before they get the big guys out, again, hiding behind their keyboards, talking tough, attempting to sass you into submission. Sometimes you are simply re-routed to their 'retention department' where they attempt to "sweeten" the deal and offer a myriad of classic ploys like temporary rate reductions, addition of premium channels to your package...anything to inquire not only WHY you want to scrap their service(s) but even have the gall to up-sale an already irate customer into signing on for internet service and/or a cellular plan. I realize that retention departments within companies like this are nothing new and many, including DirecTV utilize the same strategies. I guess you can't blame them for trying, right? My beef is the quality, training, and education (or lack thereof) that your left to deal with.
After putting a LOT of thinking of writing such a scathing review of this company, I was faced with a two-pronged problem. Sure their service sucks and I can imagine everyone there would much rather be somewhere else than being inconsiderate or rude to griping customers. For this reason, I feel quite sad for these individuals. It's a call center. Very, very little education these folks seem hold and possibly have to take these types of jobs to support a family, an addiction, etc. It's all they're qualified to get.
On the other hand, I also believe some folks are just sociopaths and revel in arguing with already upset customers and just make matters worse. You know the types, the "big guys and gals" hiding in their cubicles, adorning their headsets, playing the bully role behind their keyboards and monitors. Think of a really, really nasty debt collector and you get the idea. Everyone has encountered this personality type/disorder and these folks seem to love creating chaos.
Sadly, I'm sure they don't leave this behavior at work at the end of the day and take it home to their family, relatives, drivers, and other members of the public where they continue to bully and demean.t It was at this juncture I began to think should I really just realize this and feel sorry for these broken, bitter individuals that chose or were forced into this line of work or should I really be furious for the treatment I receive by their customer service reps when I call to question a billing statement or report an issue?
For legal reasons, I have to disclose that this review is my opinion of Spectrum and my sole experience with the telecommunications company as it is of this writing (6/2025). That being said, there appears to so many problems that need addressed that they simply cannot do it or pathetically given up trying due to corporate greed.
Personally, I feel the need to attempt to explain to those considering Spectrum to perhaps give it a second thought. Sure, you can please all people all the time and I realize that. But as an ex-overpaying customer, please consider what you're stepping into, do your due diligence, and if nothing else, just Google the complaints and business tactics they stoop to, even to me, a valued customer since 1978.
It truly appears, at least to me, that they've hit rock bottom. And sadly, this is the politest and best way I know how to appeal to the general public to forgo plans on signing up with this horrific company. All I can do is warn you in earnest. I have no stake either way. Save yourself the disappointment and frustration. If you've made it this far, thank you for reading.

Often the programs that recorded were blurry and/or the sound was out of sync. The month that I let the service run out they failed to record 6 or 7 races I had programed so I cancelled on the last of the month. They sent me a bill for two months service because they said my billing cycle ended a few days before I cancelled. They want to charge me a full month for 4 days of service! Service which failed to record 6-7 programs!
They should have told me about this charge and I would have at least waited until the end of the next billing cycle. What about paying me for all the programs I paid to have recorded and didn't get to watch? I asked them for a phone number or address for my attorney to contact and they said they couldn't give me that information. WTH!?!? DON't use these POS's for ANYTHING!!!! I’ve had an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience with Spectrum. Back in September 2022, I clearly told the agent over the phone that I only wanted mobile and internet service. Instead, they added Spectrum Voice (a home phone service I never asked for or used) and pressured me into signing up for a TV package, falsely claiming I needed it to receive a promotional deal. I don’t even own a home phone, and no one ever asked if I use one. Later, I found out I was being billed for these services I never used — Voice, TV, and even a WiFi fee that was added without explanation and kept increasing. Despite never using TV at all (especially after moving), I was still charged for it.
Every time I called to fix these issues, I was passed from agent to agent, with long hold times and no real help. The supervisors even suggested I pay extra for better internet, ignoring my concerns. They could clearly see I had never made a single call using the phone service — the virtual phonebook and call history were completely empty — yet no one offered to remove the service or issue a refund. One supervisor rudely told me it doesn’t matter whether I use the service — if it’s on the bill, I have to pay for it. That’s completely unacceptable.
After I got a small partial refund from my bank, Spectrum began calling and messaging me constantly, saying I owed them over $300. This level of harassment after all the stress and financial loss is shocking. I’ve now canceled Spectrum’s internet service and filed a formal dispute. I’m sharing this to warn others: check your bills closely and do not assume you’re getting only what you requested. What was sold to me as a “promotion” ended up being an expensive, deceptive trap.Besides all above internet & especially mobile services extremely poor, as you can see on the one pic.

Date 5/4 ordered called Spectrum/Charter 866-782-2681 inquire about transferring from Cox Mobile to Spectrum/Charter Mobile. After being on the phone with an agent for an hour he said he will have a new phone with all the equipment included shipped to me because he couldn't use the phone I purchased from Cox. I was guaranteed the delivery by 5/6/25. The delivery was late. Arrived on 5/7/25, refurbished and missing a charger & a device operator manual which I had received with my current phone with Cox.
After calming down a few days. I called Spectrum/Charter spoke with manager Jeffrey who emailed me a QR code to return the cell phone that was still in the box. He said he was going to waive a stock charge. I went to the nearest FedEx to return the item on 5/10/25. They told me to call Spectrum/Charter back to get a regular return label and not a QR code label. Spectrum/Charter said they can't that I had to drive 25 miles away to a FedEx print N pack store. Before I shipped the cell phone I took pictures because I didn't trust Spectrum/Charter since they lied about the cell phone having all the equipment with it & being new.
On 5/19/25 I received a notification from Spectrum/Charter that they received the return. Then on 5/21/25 I received an email that the device was damaged with a scratch on the screen. I replied with the photos of the phone when it was delivered at the FedEx store still in it's packaging. I called Spectrum/Charter to dispute the claim with manager named Justin. I asked several times for and email to forward the photos too and they claimed they didn't have any. They didn't have a contact to the warehouse, billing dispute department to speak to anyone or email the photos to. So I emailed all Spectrum/Charter corporation contacts and attached the photos and terminated the call because I was going round and round. Something told me to check my bank account since I only ordered WiFi with Spectrum/Charter and not mobile. They illegally withdrew $134.95 and another charge of $24 +.
My debit card isn't on autopay for WiFi and I don't have a phone mobile service with Spectrum/Charter. My phone and phone number belongs to Cox cable and hasn't been transferred. I called Spectrum/Charter Billing to dispute the charge and let them know they illegally withdrew funds from my account for mobile service or device I don't have activated and that was cancelled on 5/10/25. They couldn't even explain the charges. They refused to except the pictures of the phone in its package at the FedEx store they sent me too. Now I must go to the bank to get another card. Cancel out the card they illegally withdrew from. This company is cold hearted. See BBB review for all the similar scams, charges, poor treatment of new customers. What world does a company illegally take money for product keep the product and the service and think a consumer wouldn't dispute it.

I let my son set up the phone for his use. He tried several times to import his number from Tracfone. He was not successful. So he gave the phone back to me and said never mind. A few weeks past I tried to set up the phone to give it to my grandson. When I went on the spectrum app, the phone did not show up, but my bill was a lot more. I called Spectrum. They said the phone had been deactivated. They said my son had deactivated the phone. Not true. The phone had never been activated.
Spectrum says they cannot fix the problem. I have to pay the total amount due for the purchase of the phone. I never activated it, it’s never been used. So now I can’t afford to pay the bill because I am disabled. I tried to explain to them that they did not listen. Either pay the total amount due or my service would be disconnected. I am blind and can’t drive and can’t do without my phone. But they don’t care. Do not choose Spectrum mobile. If something happens, they will not work with you and they do not care. After calling we were told that that channel has been moved into a package that we did not subscribe to. For an additional $15 a month we could get that channel again along with some other channels we did not care about. The problem is why did they take something away that a long standing customer has been getting and then try to price gouge them to get something they have had all along. Where is the customer loyality? Why should we stay with Spectrum when they can take away channels without notice and hold you hostage to pay more money.
We are currently paying in excess of $200 per month for internet and cable TV and now they want $15 more to give us back one channel that we already had. We get far better loyalty from our cell phone provider Tmobile who recognizes the value of retaining customers. When we call them for help they try to give us what we need and they appreciate our loyalty as a long standing customer. Spectrum is no longer a monopoly. You do have lots of competition and young people are totally rejecting traditional cable in favor of streaming services and free TV. You guys don't get it. Additionally, your old stand by customer base of Boomers will be leaving too due to high cost, lack of service and lack of customer loyalty. This is a big economic area for Spectrum, not small town. Had to leave at least one star - would prefer to use zero. We opted for the phone buyout option to switch to Spectrum and have been fighting for months to actually get the buyout money - then they just stopped even responding to our complaints. Our patience is at an end with this. T-Mobile (our "old" carrier) does not show the phone numbers, just the IMEI number on the close out bills. Spectrum will not recognize them - they say they can only recognize phone numbers. They just give you the runaround and avoid actually coming through with the buyout money they promised. Never did see the money.
The thing is they transferred our phones over to Spectrum before telling us that we had to pay them off at TMobile first. So we were stuck without phones until we paid them off. We even showed them a screen capture of our phones showing them the IMEI number and phone number. Nothing could be done at the local store - it all had to be done over the phone. So they made themselves inaccessible, and made the conditions impossible to meet, so no buyout money. Spectrum put a return filter on my service line without me knowing. This means that it will interrupt the service line that it's on BECAUSE something in THAT line is causing issues for other users (this is a condo building). I had no internet, called it in and it turns out that the LINES were so old (running from the outside box to our unit), that "maintenance" put a "return filter" on my line and never called us.
I called customer service for a credit and they said that they can only offer a "courtesy credit" for being such a dedicated customer. This comes from DREW on the "leadership team". When I had asked for the full credit from the dated tag, he said that he "can't work on hypotheticals" (return filter was not in the service call notes). I was given two options: 1- the courtesy credit of $25.80 or a 1-day credit for the service call. When I said "that it didn't make sense not to credit our account for the time that it was down", DREW said that "it sounds like you're declining the courtesy credit and that I [Drew] would be happy to apply the $5 one-day credit. Drew is not good at his job if the goal is actual customer support and problem solving without being a wise-guy/patronizing. 1- Terrible service 2- Terrible leadership 3- Awful customer appreciation
I've been with them for 15-years, has gone from $42+-/mo to 88/mo and they gave me $25.80 on an $88/mo bill. The return filter was dated 04/12 (tagged). It wasn't in Williams notes though (the guy at the service call), so they wouldn't offer a credit for the actual downtime. SPECTRUM is hands down among the absolute, most horrible, terrible, worst internet providers out there on every level. We have NO other options with where we are located so they've got us cornered. Spoke to two different people and they supposedly arranged for this. Two hours later we got an email saying the account was cancelled.
When I called back to get it straightened out, the supervisor I spoke with said there was nothing they could do to reactivate the takeover and I would have to sign up for a new account. This was after 70 minutes on the phone with them. I was out of state and would have had to hire a third party cabling contractor to set up all new equipment even though the house is already fully equipped. Was reassured from district manager, then regional manager (after settling for less than promised to at least make us whole), still waiting. We paid off old phones to get "the deal". Over 6 months and nothing but excuses. COST WAS MORE TO GET THE BETTER DEAL. NOT TRUE FOR US. OH! One week later I was receiving an error code on the TV and had to call. I was told by this representative that the person I spoke with a month prior had failed to add all of the correct equipment needed for the Xumo box. There was nothing I had to do. They corrected it at their end but my bill would go up. It did. The next month my rate increased again, the introductory price changed. My bill ended up right back where it would have been after my initial introductory period.
With Spectrum I had frequent outages due to weather, service updates and other unknown reasons. Spectrum wants you to bundle everything. you may not need or want a home phone but to get a cheaper bundle you end up with a home phone line. They are really into bundling everything. I canceled my service at Spectrum 1 1/2 days into my new billing cycle and had to pay for service I wasn't receiving. That's Spectrums policy. I returned my equipment to the Spectrum Store and now suddenly they can't find the Xumo Box. The Store doesn't give you a receipt! That comes from the warehouse! The Store was able to put in a request to search for the box at the warehouse. If it's not found of course I will be charged.
I have never seen such poor customer service anywhere. I would never recommend Spectrum to anyone. It seems they tell the customer what they want to hear and do something totally different. Their customer service is a nightmare—all I get is the runaround, with no real answers or accountability. It’s clear that Spectrum’s so-called reimbursement is a deceptive marketing ploy designed to attract new customers while avoiding payouts. Because of this blatant dishonesty, I am canceling all my Spectrum services—Mobile, Internet, and TV—and switching to a provider that actually keeps its promises. If you’re considering Spectrum, DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR PROMOTIONS! Spectrum, stop misleading your customers and honor your commitments!

I’ve been stuck with the monopoly of Spectrum internet and home phone service for 6 years now and every year, without fail, there’s been one inconvenience after another, from slow-to-no service and some of the densest “Customer Support” imaginable. And every year, a price increase, without any advance notice or tangible justification. As a matter of fact, every time the price increases, the service level decreases.
Internet/WiFi slows, in spite of claims of improvement. I’m seeing the old “buffer” notice like in the “dial-up” days. Home phone service is a sometimes service. I’ve missed calls because of no incoming, I have my own answering machine so that I can hear when a message is being left by the caller where with Spectrum, I have to check my e-mail for notification, then log into my account on the sub-par internet service to check for messages.
All will work well with the phone service for a while and then, suddenly, for no apparent reason, Spectrum’s “answering” will cancel my home machine so that there’s NO out-going message letting callers know that there IS an answering device. What they hear is absolutely nothing AND my machine won’t record for some reason.
I’m constantly “re-setting the equipment”, but it’s an effort in futility. Recently I was told that I needed an “up-grade” which would be provided “at no cost”. Spectrum sent me a new modem and router, all was installed, worked well and on the very next bill came an increase. “Service improvements” was the reason I received when I contacted Spectrum directly.
The spectrum.net web-site is, essentially, non-functional in that “settings” for service most often result in notice: “We are unable to up-date records, set preferences, modify service”. “Call block” of annoyance calls is non-functional. Trying to stop Spectrum “voice-mail” is impossible and on a recent “chat” I was told “Your answering device is competing with Spectrum voice-mail.” It never “competed” before recently. I’ve had the same “device” for 5 years with no trouble. “You have to disconnect your device and change your telephone.” was the “solution” offered by Spectrum “customer service”.
The increases are, on average, 6 dollars monthly, compounded over the course of 6 months to a year, and as I say, no “advance notice”, no reason, no customer consideration. Contacting Spectrum is a complete waste of time because “options” offered are “pay the rate or drop the service” and again, they’re a monopoly in rural areas. It’s blatant abuse and if not actually so, “borderline theft”. Equally, it’s utter disregard for customers/individuals.
A thorough investigation and audit of the company and practises by local, state and federal authorities is WELL PAST DUE! I’ve scoured the internet for “reviews” on the company and have found the VAST MAJORITY of other Spectrum customers are suffering the same or similar abuses. I’ve spoken with neighbours who are also trapped by the monopoly of Spectrum and have yet to hear a positive comment. I will be pursuing actions with our local, state and the federal authorities with the hope that Spectrum’s monopoly will be legally ended and reparations issued to customers in view of the absolute disrespect and abuse suffered, for many, over years.

Spectrum is the worst internet provider in New York City. This company arbitrarily increases internet service fees without reason or notification. I had Spectrum internet for over 7 years and learned when I called in to troubleshoot my service that my router was outdated and not providing the speed of service I was being charged. I had to physically go into a store to return my old router and pick up a new one, which was actually two separate units and significantly bigger than my original one that was conveniently concealed behind my sofa. When picking up the new equipment, the in-store rep also told me I was overpaying for my service, and he told me I needed to call in and request a lower rate whenever it is increased.
Given that every phone call with a customer service agent is 45-60 minutes, I dread these calls. I ultimately, canceled my service with this provider after not using the new equipment, and they refused to refund me for the unused service. This company makes money by arbitrarily increasing rates banking on customers not calling in to request adjustments. It is deceptive and predatory profiteering.

Last year in August they automatically switched my internet to a faster speed for a lower price which I was happy. They said it was price guarantee for a year. This is February and they increased it 2 dollars. I looked up my account. It shows in April it will go up another 63.00. I called and the answer I got is that they have a price increase. Why would you switch me lower my price to a faster internet with a 1 year guaranteed price then raise it to almost a 100.00 more than I was paying 6 months ago?

Spectrum does not even deserve 1 star. Their service is so poor, and now that they are part of Charter, it's even worse! You can't get anyone on customer service, they keep raising the rates constantly, and customer reps can't answer questions or make changes to the account to benefit you. The service is terrible, the Xumo boxes freeze constantly and have to be rebooted. The service gets more expensive every month! And it's not worth it. It really sucks to us who don't have many choices in the area but I am done with Spectrum after being a customer for more than a decade. Good riddance.

A few days ago, Spectrum changed all account numbers and suddenly, my new account number is showing that I owe $161.52 for my new bill due March 6, 2025. It is absolutely incorrect to say the least as I never signed up for the Spectrum TV Select Signature Package. Spectrum's customer service is horrible; they outsource from different countries and the employees read from a standard script and never, ever help resolve the issue. Spectrum Internet costs are extremely high at $75 per month. Basic internet for one senior citizen on a low income should be reduced. Not with Spectrum. I have Spectrum tv and 1Gig internet. No problems at all with the internet service; it's fast and reliable with hardly ever an interruption. TV service? That's another issue. We have a C3 LG OLED tv which can give incredibly nice video quality with a good signal source. But Spectrum cable picture quality sucks! The resolution is ok but the color fidelity is terrible. The whole picture has a very slight yellow cast so that skin tones are never good, and it's impossible to tweak the tv colors to get an overall acceptable picture. I'm told that compression is the cause and that Spectrum heavily compresses the signal to get more bandwidth over their system.
Several calls to customer service got quick response and a thorough check/adjustment of the system within my house, but no fix.... The cause is with the system. The phone support is sympathetic but there seems to be no carry through to fix the issue further up the chain. The frustration has me ready to leave Spectrum tv although I really like the channel lineup.

I've been with Spectrum (Charter) for 10.5 years and have finally had enough! My service cost just went up AGAIN, and while just speaking to a Rep to disconnect, not only did he tell me I couldn't schedule a day for disconnecting my service (uhh, since when..?) and would have to call back the day before my billing cycle ends, but he also admitted he could see I was stuck in '3 tier' which is the highest price (and still going UP), but he literally acknowledged I was getting less data than I'm paying for and he could SEE how absolutely horrible my service has been FOR MONTHS! Tried blaming my equipment which they just replaced last month (like he couldn't see that!?)
They KNOW they're providing (-or not in my case) basically static air and dropped resetting connections, and yet they DO nothing except charge me MORE for it..!? I will never use spectrum again for anything. Ever. This company should literally refund the last 6 months of my service costs. THEY KNEW... And then they charged ME MORE.. For LESS..!

I inherited Spectrum when they bought BrightHouse. At first everything was ok but when there were no more promotions, their prices rose rapidly. When my cable/landline/internet bill got to $240 for basic channels with no premiums, I ditched cable. Kept Internet and wifi. Again, prices rose rapidly. They increase every 4 to 6 months and the savings I got when I switched to streaming are shrinking. I gave 3 stars just because the speed is pretty good with minimal buffering. Unfortunately, there are only two Internet providers in my area, Spectrum and one other which is not as good speed wise so I am stuck with them. If something else becomes available, I am bidding Spectrum adieu. They're simply not worth what they charge.

I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I receive. Frequent outages occur every other night, and there is no available schedule for "scheduled maintenance". I consistently have to contact the service provider when my internet connection drops, only to be informed by a condescending technician that I can check the app for updates, which provides no useful information. Despite paying for 500 mbps, I rarely receive speeds above 200 mbps. Recent outages have been attributed to the onsite technician's improper installation of wiring. Although another technician was dispatched to rectify the issue, the problems persisted within a month.
Furthermore, I am charged hundreds of dollars for a service that I am unable to utilize consistently. When I request a credit on my bill, I am informed that I must experience an outage lasting at least four hours to be eligible for compensation. The service's unreliability is compounded by subpar customer service. In comparison, the service provided by Bright House Networks, the company's predecessor, was far superior. As soon as an alternative provider becomes available in my area, I intend to switch. I am thoroughly disappointed with Spectrum's overall service. Currently, I am experiencing my third consecutive hour without internet access.

Water and electricity helped and gave us a month for free. Not Charter. Duke Energy gave us credit but not Charter. I called to ask, was told it wasn’t their fault we didn’t have power so it wasn’t their problem. Great company. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. Thankfully I have gotten my family to drop them. Now for the rest of the world. Get rid of Charter Spectrum. There are so many cheaper better options.

We moved into an apartment for six months, and unfortunately, the only internet provider available was Spectrum. Initially, we signed up for the 300 Mbps plan but consistently received around 100 Mbps at best. After calling support twice, they said there was "nothing they could do." While the service wasn’t great, it was manageable—until it got worse.
Over time, speeds dropped to 50 Mbps or less. Since we work from home, this made joining Teams meetings nearly impossible. I called again, and they sent a technician who replaced the modem, but it didn’t improve anything. Once again, I was told there was nothing they could do. Eventually, I had to start going to the office because the connection was so unreliable.
When our lease was almost up, I called to cancel. As soon as I mentioned canceling, I was hung up on by multiple agents. Finally, someone stayed on the line and processed the cancellation, but the service somehow got worse—a week before we moved, we had no internet at all. When I called again, they claimed I needed another new modem, even though the technician had just replaced it.
I ended up speaking with a supervisor named Noul (he said his name was "kinda like Noel"). After I explained everything, his response was, "I see you're canceling your service next week... is there anything else I can help you with?" I couldn’t help but laugh. He then closed the conversation with, "Thank you for being the best part of Spectrum."
This experience was beyond frustrating. Not only did I waste money on subpar service, but the lack of accountability and dismissive attitude from support was infuriating. The least they could have done was apologize or offer a refund. I will never live in a place that only offers Spectrum and will actively warn friends and family to avoid doing business with them. This was an absolutely horrible experience that I won’t forget.
