I have been a Spectrum customer for 3 years. I am 70, and have health issues. My experience with customer service has shown me they have NO consideration for the elderly. My TV has been having "channel unavailable" 4-5 times a day. 15-30 minutes each time, for 14 days. My cable HBO still works. I was on the chat for almost an hour trying to fix problem. He was not able to do so and an appointment was scheduled. That was fine. From then it was downhill. First, he knew that I was elderly and that the TV and the computer I was working at were not in same room. I had to get up over a dozen times to go check on something for him. I guess I wasn't fast enough because I kept getting messages that the chat was going to be disconnected. Then when we set the appointment, he left the service worse than I started. He told me he didn't do anything and that I was basically lying or senile.
I asked for a number to leave a complaint and he gave me an incorrect number for that. When I finally got customer service the man from Texas I got was worse. He basically said that Spectrum would never work to help the elderly, steps are the same for everyone (in my wheeling back and forth to two different rooms) and that because I am elderly I MUST wait for a technician to come. Yet continue to pay for a service I'm not getting. He said it's not Spectrum's fault that I am elderly and cannot follow their instructions fast enough. If the chat person that comes on is ALAN and you are 70 or older you are not welcome as a Spectrum customer.

They kept raising bill, 12, 13, 20, 40 dollars. They just add items you didn't request. Service says, "Oh you need to check your bill and call within 30 days," BS. They say Spectrum TV you get free apps to download. Not true. You have to buy a bigger package and then they're included. Went to the 15 TV package and lost apps. So you really have to pay more to get them. There with SelectTV not Spectrum TV as they advertise. One of the most dishonest companies I ever worked with.

I am writing about Spectrum mobile department. I will advise anyone who thinking about getting with this company's mobile service to think twice about doing so. I signed up for their mobile service, thinking I will get coverage in rural areas and such, but couldn't get any at all, which is why I returned the phone back before the 10 days they give you if you are not satisfied with the service. Keep in mind you will have to pay a restock fee if you still return the phone back opened even with no damage.
Spectrum refunded me back the down payment for opening up the service once they received the phone and emailed that they have received the phone, they was gonna charge me the restock fee. A month later, they charged me $50.00 on Black Friday for the restock fee that they supposedly have taking out the same day they refunded me the down payment charge. I called about it to complain why did they charged me $50.00 when I no longer have mobile services with you plus that phone returned back to you all under 10 days. They said it was restock fees. Why wouldn't you take the $50.00 at the same day you refunded me the down payment?
The answer the supervisor could tell me or whoever the lady was excuse was that they couldn't take out at the time. That is bogus, everything is on the same card. Then she did any other valid reason of why they would do such a thing. Very deceitful company. I also asked why no one have informed me that they couldn't get the restock money of my card at the same time they refunded me. Again no valid answer, but yet you can do it on Black Friday over a month of canceling mobile services with these people. Just an evil thing for these people to do. I told her that was my gas money to get back and forth to work with and you all wait till over a month to draft $50.00? Do not trust a company that will do deceitful practices like this.

Spectrum is a Shady Greedy Absolutely HORRIBLE Company that eventually pulls the old bait & switch tactic on all their new customers, raising prices at the drop of a hat without any notice & never keeping their initial verbal agreement promises I paid for a 2 year package which included a free router, for a one set price, these scam artists only made it to the first year, when they decided to raise my bill & take away their initial promises, and start charging me more money. They don’t care about their customers, ONLY your MONEY… They make all kinds of promises when they want to sign you up, but buyer beware they will find a away to screw you over, they have Awful customer service, I have called multiple times to discuss my bill, & all I got is the runaround, last time I called, their customer solutions dept. kept putting me on hold to see what they could do to help me.
I waited three hours on the phone with them, & all they told me in the end of the call is there was nothing they could do for me, they do not have any more deals to offer to me, why I had to be on the phone for 3 hours for nothing then, My problem at this point is still unresolved… The last supervisor from customer solutions dept. treated me like dirt, and literally argued with me for one hour, mocking me & yelling at me over the phone, then hanging up on me… I honestly tell you people to avoid this company because you will end up like me, & regret ever giving them your business & money… SPECTRUM DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS, ONLY YOUR MONEY…

I was a loyal customer for over 14 years. Yes, you read that right. 14 years. It wasn't that I was ever happy about having Spectrum, but they ran the gamut in my location unfortunately. Long story short. I paid $90/mo for YEARS. No offers, no discounts, etc. Called at random times throughout the years to get it lower, but they can't help, I am on the lowest plan, yadda, yadda, yadda. Mint Mobile hits the scene, and I decide to try them. Service is great, internet for what I need, without overpaying for what I don't. I call to cancel, and it was a 45-minute phone call, of guilt tripping, putting their competition down, etc. The guy offered to do this and that about 10 different times, and finally got to where they were willing to match Mint Mobile's price. I told him no, if Spectrum valued me as a customer, they would have offered their best price 35 minutes ago, and 14 years ago.
If I have to call in every year to fight to keep my rate from going up, or If I have to threaten disconnecting service for the mere possibility of reducing or keeping my current rate, then the value isn't there for me. The reason I like Mint Mobile? No gimmicks, pricing stays the same, and reliable service. That is all most customers desire in any service they purchase. Spectrum could benefit from studying their competition. I will never go back.

Our special rate was running out. I called THREE TIMES to see if they could do anything to extend it and was told flat-out "no" each time. So I set up with AT&T Internet and YouTube TV. Then when I called back to cancel, all of the sudden the CSR said he could keep the rate flat. I was on the phone for 45 minutes with this guy, telling him at least six times that I was done with them. But he would not give up. I was just about to ask for his supervisor when he finally did. The company and shareholders really need to review its business model and procedures.

Where do I begin. With they high overrated, always going up on your price and never bettering they speed of services. How about they record everything you say when called g the customer service lines but dont have an record of what the representative said to you. To get out of the service contract is not an easy process at all and they say one thing like yes this is your final bill, there will not be any further charges unless you don't return the equipment. Only to get a surprise bill a month after you turned your services off and returned all equipment on time.
The managers are just as useless as the representatives you talk to on the phone. They don't care anything about having loyal customers for over 10 yrs, 5 yrs, or 6 mo!! They are money hungry sucking company with poor services all around! If they knock on your door or send you a promotion flyer in the mail or you see an ad on TV, don't trust Spectrum! Spectrum takes customer service to new lows. If I had I would have had it on an accounts spreadsheet. When I wanted to close my account and return my equipment I was told that I had to go to a Spectrum store to do it.
Spectrum closed their stores in more populated Ocala and the nearest one was 25 miles away in smaller Wildwood. Not knowing that there were TWO County Roads 466 in Sumpter County I could not find the store. When I called the store for directions I got some corporate office that could not call the store. Then it was that I should have sent it to Samsung directly (Spectrum's rep told me to send it back and sent me the new on). Then I called again and got a manager. Now they are saying I sent in a D grade damaged phone. It was not damaged, but had barely been used and kept in a case. They will be sending me the "pictures" of why they graded it low. Where to even begin. I've been a Spectrum customer for about 7 years, and I had never, NEVER had any issues till the past year. I upgraded my mobile service to be able to upgrade my phone whenever I want as they advertise. But when I went to upgrade my phone, it turned out that the person who created my account entered my SSN wrong. So I spent a year trying to fix the issue with them. Then! After I was able to get ahold of someone who could help me with the upgrade, I was finally able to upgrade my phone. HOWEVER! I was told I had a 14 day period that if I didnt like the phone I could trade it in. So, before the 14 days I called to upgrade, SAME ISSUE. They had to put in ticket after ticket. By the time someone got to me, it passed the 14 days. SHOCKER. Then they kept saying there was an issue with SSN again.
Another 3 months trying to fix it. I was told it was fixed. So when I attempted again to upgrade, I was told my anytime upgrade wasn't available. Then someone else told me on my SSN was on a block list. Never herd of that before and the agents couldn't explain why either. Kept giving me the rub around, did everything they asked, for them to tell me they couldn't do anything. So, moral of the story. They are false advertising the anytime upgrade. They enable it if you upgrade once, and if you keep trying to use a service you're PAYING for, they add you to a block list which prevents you from upgrading. Bravo spectrum. What a scam you have become. My bf ended up taking over my account to see if he could upgrade since it'll be a new SSN but NOPE! SURPRISE!
Spectrum comes out with excuses to not upgrade, now its not the SSN, now it's the financing part. Even tho they keep telling you you can upgrade WHENEVER, HOW MANY TIMES YOU WANT, TO WHATEVER PHONE YOU WANT. And you pay for all of this just so they can come back and give you BS excuses to block you from using a service you're paying for. DO NOT USE SPECTRUM. THEY ARE A SCAM. Spectrum told me the account would be closed October 26 due to non-payment. No, I've already signed up for T-Mobile, that is $10/month vs. $100/month with Spectrum. They refused to cancel my services. I am the customer. And they refused to cancel. They told me I had to call them, even tho I am legally Deaf.
On 10.10.25 at 4:23 PM, I called Spectrum 5 times because I could not understand their prerecorded messages. Finally got a CSR on the phone. She told me the same thing as the Chat employee. That my account would be closed on 10.26 due to non-payment. I said No, I wanted it closed NOW, equipment is being FedEx'ed back. I didn't want to be billed yet again, which would be a THIRD BILL by Spectrum. She assured me I would not be billed a THIRD time, that they would just remove that bill. Surprise, Surprise. Not only did Spectrum add that third bill, they also added late fees.
On 10.13.25 I shipped their Spectrum Return Kit, they received it back the next day on 10.14.25. So like others, they have their equipment back yet are still billing me, plus Late Fees. I have now paid $208.95 for period ending Service from Sep 11 - Oct 10. I am not paying for another month at $108.95 beginning on 10.11 since I contacted Spectrum on 10.5 & 10.10, which was the last day of that billing period, where Spectrum assured me I would NOT be billed, then billed me anyway, plus late fees. They have also called my phone line for Deaf customers over 60 times. I want my account closed.
They can erase the BS $108.95 that the Spectum CSR told me would not even be charged. Supposedly Spectrum records their calls, they can go back and listen to this conversation. Stop calling my phone. Close this account immediately. Bonus-they enrolled me in Paperless Billing. I have UNchecked that box 3 times, but each time I look, it's checked again. I had internet equipment that worked fine for many years. Until they informed me on the phone that it was old and they wanted to send me updated equipment. So I agreed. Well the new equipment makes my internet slower than what it was. The reason is that my old equipment was running at a high rate of speed due to the equipment itself. It wasn't until a month later that I found that out from the Spectrum technician that came out to test my line. So Spectrum knew this when they ran a speed test when I initially called. Which explains why they were so adamant about sending me the new equipment. And every time I have called or chatted with customer service since, they have suggested that I upgrade my speed (band width) package. After decades of using Spectrum we were tired of the constant price hikes and high costs; we were spending $240 a month (!!). Worst of all, there was poor internet speed when tested with a speed tester, often 40-60 MBS download and 15 upload. And this living in town in Appleton. TDS moved into the area last year; after procrastinating for 8 months we finally called them and within a few days they efficiently slit-trenched a cable to our house and hooked us up within 2-3 hours. We now pay $49 a month guaranteed for 2 years. We use a Roku stick on our TV so we still get all the services we had before (HBO, Netflix, Disney, Britbox etc.). Best of all we can now download at 500 MBS!
Finally, you are required to go in to a Spectrum store to cancel. The man we dealt with was so dour it made us extremely uncomfortable. We felt like he could go postal on us at any second, and treated us as if he was doing us a favor and had just come from a funeral. With all the above in mind (and excluding the sour man), we have terrific internet capabilities, and have lightened our budget by $200 a month. A great load off of us. I've had to suffer through Spectrum's poor residential and business network connectivity and I can honestly say it's the worst of every ISP I have ever used. If you call them to complain, they'll do a "speed test" and tell you speed is fine, but what they don't test is packet loss which is well below the norm. Making their abysmal network connectivity worse, they have monopolies in cities, leaving people and businesses with NO other option.

To whom it may concern. I WAS a customer of Spectrum since 1993....yes old fella. They were running a special on internet for which I inquired. It was 50.00 for 500mbs download speed. I was paying 80.00 for 300mbs. The "Flunkie" on the phone explained to me how the rate was for new customers and since I was existing, I would need to pay the higher price. So, I was quickly indoctrinated to Spectrum Customer service for long time customers and explained to the Flunkie, I would assist his efforts and go to another service. Yes, I did that evening. The new service was installed next day if I wanted but I did it the following day as it was a Friday and installed in the AM. Very happy with the new service and for some reason Spectrum thinks I would go back to them. I get a gig up and down for 65.00/month.

We do not recommend Spectrum internet. We are in rural area. Need internet for our security cameras and spectrum put fiber optics in so, we thought it should be great. It was not. Not with their router, not with our upgraded personal one. When we sold the property and no longer needed as our home property has a privately owned system which is terrific, we no longer needed it. So, canceled service, clerk noted that but didn't actually cancel it. So when I called back to advise we couldn't wait any longer in the store, found out that she didn't actually cancel it 9 days prior as we had thought. Refused to credit and refund any part of the payment I had just made, and needed the modem returned, despite that they tried to say the service wasn't good as the modem had become obsolete, but they still wanted it returned.
Then went to their store, which the closest one was 45 min from home, was in twice, only 1 clerk working, 7 people ahead of me, the line didn't move in 20 minutes, and I had a special needs daughter waiting in the car with my husband so I gave up and left. Supposedly I can return it NC through UPS store. I'll find out. I can say the customer service on the phone was patient.

I joined Spectrum Mobile in May 2025 after being promised three things: 30 GB of Mexico data, $40/month in home internet, and trade-in credits for our iPhone 11. None of these promises were kept. * In Mexico, my phone had no data. Spectrum admitted the rep promised 30 GB but refused to honor it because their system was not allowing it. * My internet bill came at $69 instead of $40 — only fixed after complaints.* The first iPhone trade-in was denied after receiving the new phone because it was not getting done in the right way on their system and they said that.
* In September 2025, the second iPhone trade-in (receipt showed $195 credit) was later denied. After we returned it with video/photo proof, Spectrum falsely claimed the phone was “damaged” and kept it. The photo they sent wasn’t even the right device. They refused to return the real phone. After filing complaints with the FCC, Attorney General, and BBB, Spectrum finally admitted mistakes, apologized, and issued partial credits ($30 and $599.99). But they still refused to refund the phone or return it. This isn’t just us — the BBB is full of similar complaints: false promises, denied credits, and fake “damaged” phone claims. The services, which may have been dependent upon my location, was honestly horrible. I had to reboot my equipment weekly and at one point had to completely change out equipment, that then proceeded to still have issues. Service aside, the monthly costs became astronomical. The opening account deals are great, until you've been there a year and then you're paying a ridiculous amount per month. Additionally, the communication about services is sub-par at best. The payment periods are different from service periods and this is not clearly communicated. Proactivity is not something they know about!
I am not one to complain about services, business, or anything really. However, I felt it necessary to be clear on how disappointed I am with Spectrum. It was all offered over the phone with no documentation. It was a good deal but each time we talked it was with a separate individual and something new was presented. Third call I was told I would only get $500.00 per phone. I was later told to have three receipts of T-Mobile payments, the later 4 receipts. That was after we had cancelled T-Mobile and couldn’t access the account. Then we were told to send text of the purchase cost of our T-Mobile phones, then told that wasn’t sufficient and to send credit card statements showing the payment.
We did and were then told it was too late in spite of an email 5 days old, that stated we had 30 days. I pressed for more supervisor contact and finally was told we would only get $500.00 not $1500.00 to offset the $3,000.00 spent to pay off T-Mobile phones. They said all our documents were accepted but they based their decision on my credit. I had 22 years with my last cell phone provider, 10 years with Spectrum with no late or non payment. Then they said it was my credit rate, which was 850. The reply to that was, “I can’t tell you why, goodbye.” Don't trust Spectrum unless you have their plan documents and are talking with one person.

The following month, the exact same thing happened—I was billed $50 again. After another 30-minute call with customer resolution, I was told once more that the problem had been corrected. Yet, on my next bill, nothing had changed.
When I pressed them, Spectrum told me they had given me a “free line” for a year instead. That was not what I agreed to. Spectrum, when it works, is typically fine; however, you never know when it will stop working completely. When it stops working as intended, you either get no internet availability or the service is completely useless. Last time Spectrum went out, it took them an entire day just to fix the issue, and after the issue was "resolved," internet speeds had been more than halved compared to how they were previously. Ping spikes were and still are constant, taking me from an average of ~43 ms to nearly 15,000 ms every few minutes. It becomes impossible to load anything when the service is so horrible.
Upon trying to contact Spectrum, they, of course, are using an AI service so that they do not have to hear people complain about their horrible product. If I could talk to a physical person, I would have; however, the AI I was forced to talk to kept talking over me (something I didn't think was actually possible) and made it impossible to request access to a real representative.

I live in Seneca, SC in a subdivision that signed on to a 7+ year agreement with Spectrum for them to install fiber optic throughout our neighborhood. The monthly and annual rates are competitive but what we have had to endure from these worthless cons is nothing close to a good rate we might be getting. During the hurricane last October 2024, we were without internet/cable for almost 5 weeks. When you call them, they stated they were at the mercy of the power company, yet all power had been restored throughout our area.
It took a few folks in our neighborhood who had connections with state representatives to get them to pay attention to our issues. Fast forward to today, September 12, 2025, and we are once again blind to everything. And have been for over 3 hours. Crystal blue skies all day. No info. Can’t get anyone on chat. No one picks up calls. These folks have a monopoly and they know it. You can see this with such horrific reviews yet no improvements. Why is it the FCC does not investigate. Stay away from these folks if you have a choice. Unfortunately, I did not. Our board voted on this and we are stuck. At least for another 5 years or so.

I tried Spectrum Internet for over a year. I had a different provider when I lived in an apartment. In two years we probably had service down 3 times. With Spectrum, I lived in a house the internet went down several times a month. When I wanted to cancel service, they force you to call so they can talk you into staying. They then try and get you to add more services to keep you from leaving. They offered me less speed then I'm getting with my new carrier, wanted me to switch my cell phone service to them to save $10.00
The representative asked me who my mobile provider was so she could send me a code. When I asked why she said it was because some providers charge a fee for texts. So?? I know that they ask so they can try and sell you more service. It takes 15 minutes to "cancel", so they waste your time trying to convince you to stay. Finally, the report offered you have a technician come out. They send notification as every time the service is out. Now, they're suddenly concerned. Where was this concern when the service would be out for hours?

If I could give them ZERO stars, I would!! I cancelled service on 8/25 at my daughter's apartment, and on 9/9 was billed another $95!! I called to speak with someone, even went up the ladder from the first person I spoke to, only to be told the billing cycle begins on the 20th of the month (so we were 5 days into the new cycle) but they can't prorate or issue refunds. The person I spoke to on the 8/25 never once mentioned this and I explained that! They can basically steal a month of service cost from you!!
I also brought up the fact that I received notifications almost daily where the service was out at the apartment but I certainly never saw a reduction in my bill to offset ALL the time my daughter didn't have service to get her school work completed so she'd have to travel to a coffee shop or my house for internet services! The only thing reliable in this company is their billing department! They are always happy to take your money!! I despise this shady company and their service is horrible! Read the fine print. Called customer service, basically told too bad, no grace period and no exceptions. I will assume the bill is on the up and up and pay it through autopay for a couple of months until I notice the amount they're charging me seems higher than what I was told. I then go online and check, and voila, somebody at Spectrum has added a landline for $25 and basic TV for another $25.
When I get in touch with customer service, they spend 45 minutes passing me from one person to another and then trying to tell me that these extra services have been added for my benefit because I've been selected for a special package deal. I try to explain that I don't use a landline and I don't watch much tv. It doesn't work. They keep insisting that I need these services and try to sell me some more. I'm a nice, nice person so I keep my voice low and friendly and insist that all I want is internet. They will NOT LISTEN. They're being surveilled and I'm sure they get demerits if they ever let a customer drop a service that they've secretly added.
It's unbelievable--if I were a tort lawyer, I would launch a giant class action suit. I've been through multiple rounds on my own behalf and on behalf of my mom, who was in assisted living for some years. They did this with her account as well. I called to cancel Spectrum and all of a sudden they offered a lower price and money off of previous bills as we were overpaying for a service we did not have. I said, "No thanks."
To make matters even more disheartening was that when we went to return the equipment at the Spectrum store, we were told that we had to wait for over an hour to speak to a representative, we were just returning equipment! Well we left and returned it to UPS, after being told by the Spectrum store clerk that that was no longer an option because contract was not renewed with UPS to do so. I would not even give one star if that was an option, It all started when I received promotional information in my mailbox Informing me that Spectrum now services my area and and although I already had internet service through another company, I was not happy with my current Wi-Fi service. I called the number on the Flyer to get more information. When I spoke to the salesperson, I was assured that my area was able to be serviced and I Agreed to the package that the salesperson talked me into which included a cellphone along with WiFi. Although I already Had a cellphone and was not looking to change my service I was talked into it and Assured that there would be no issues with installation by the person on the phone.
A couple of days later, the installation tech showed up to install my internet access and I was advised that service wasn't available for installation in my area....regardless of the promotional mailing I received as well as confirmation by the salesperson on the phone. I received the new cellphone from spectrum immediately, that now was useless to me. I was not looking to change my cellphone service. I was wanting wifi and and the phone was somewhat pushed on me in a package deal that now was void. I called customer service to find out what I needed to do to return the phone. That's when they acted like I did not know what I was talking about. And I had to explain myself over and over again, of how it all came about being signed up for service when it's not even available In my area, And after confirming multiple times that they did before I signed up for the service.
After convincing the person....Or actually, people that I spoke to on what to do with the phone, I was told that They would call me back with a resolution... I did not receive a call. So I returned a call AGAIN to THEM!!!! I would think you would understand my frustration, because now I had to explain the same thing AGAIN only to be told that I would have to go through all these steps with another department to return the phone BUT also until it was returned and received, I couldn't even be refunded the amount I paid the night I spoke to the salesperson guy on the phone... The very first call I made inquiring about the mailing that I received, that literally said "NOW AVAILABLE"... That guy, he he lied to me not once but TWICE.... Putting me on hold "CONFIRMING" that service was definitely accessible at my address... Well, IT ISN'T!!!! And then to be told that they would refund me AFTER.... What????
I informed the people I spoke to that I do not generally use my email regularly that another method of communication would be better but was told that's just the way they do it!!!. So, surprise surprise, after missing an email and poor communication with/by the company, I initiated correspondence once again with that department of the company and that's when I was told that I missed the window of time to return the phone and now I would be responsible for the cost of the phone!!!! So now I'm on the line for a phone I didn't even want. Still brand new untouched in the box,,, that was basically pushed on me by spectrum. A salesperson selling me a service that isn't even available to my address. And now I'm in collections for this phone!!! And I don't need to explain any further how ridiculous that is.
I'm a single mom of 3, I don't have the time to jump through hoops for a company that has inconvenienced me tremendously. And it's sickening that they would think I owe them anything other than their phone back. I'm livid at the complete unprofessional behaviors of this company and I will never give them a dime of my money. BUT what I will do.... I will make sure everyone I know and everyone I don't know knows what they've put me through and still going through and NOT to do business with this company.... And why!!!! Do better.... Period.🤮🤔🤨🙄

BUYER BEWARE. Spectrum will make it nearly impossible for you to terminate your contract. Even if you follow the exact process they demand, it won’t be done correctly—and they will deny all accountability. After being a Spectrum customer for years, I decided to switch providers. I spent over an hour on the phone specifically requesting to disconnect all my services (mobile and internet). My mobile was canceled, but the internet was never shut off. I was told one final payment would end everything. At no point was I told equipment needed to be returned.
Months later, I kept receiving “upcoming payment” notifications. Assuming they were scams (since my cancellation was handled on a recorded call), I ignored them. In reality, Spectrum had been auto-charging me $140 a month for nine months straight—without notice of the price hike from the $99 I started at. When I discovered this, I called immediately and spent 82 minutes on the phone. After waiting over an hour, I was finally transferred to a manager. She claimed there were “no notes” about my cancellation and said the termination never happened because I hadn’t returned equipment—equipment I was never told about. When I asked for the recording of my original cancellation call (to prove both that I called and that I was never told to return equipment), she admitted she didn’t have access to it and would have to escalate.
Two days later, she called back and immediately led with: “Since we have a 60-day window for disputing charges, all we can offer is the last two months.” Not once during my 82-minute call was this 60-day window mentioned. Then she claimed they didn’t have the recorded call anymore because it was “over a year old” (it wasn’t). When I reminded her of that fact, she shifted again, saying, “Well, it’s just an old account.” In the end, Spectrum refused to acknowledge my cancellation, refused to provide proof of the call, hid behind fine print I was never informed of, and ultimately offered just two months of refunds out of nine. If you’re considering Spectrum, beware—this is how they treat their customers.

Spectrum has gone up every 3 months and has hit their 10th increase, charging more than other locations after the new customer period ends. All we have is internet and pay $95.00 and it's going up again. The service is spotty and goes out more than it should, on top of long wait periods for technicians. We are switching the moment we can. I suggest going to a different company, do not go to Spectrum. Inflation can't stop until corporations lose customers.

Customer service is terrible. I couldn't tell you how many times you can call and your problem or issues are never resolved. Also, when you call for your yearly promotional rate I'm on the phone for over a half an hour of them trying to sell me every other product when all I want is the internet service. It's a waste of their time and waste of my time when I know what I want and stop trying to get me to haul everything over to them. I repeatedly tell them I'm only interested in the internet and keeping my promotional rate and my price down. So basically I ended the phone call that accomplished nothing. This is not the first time.

Moved to new house. Spectrum guy on phone said they service our address. Somebody comes out with modem and router couple days later. Won’t install it. Said it’s easy, we can do it ourselves. 3 days later still no internet. On phone with guy again asking for someone to come out and set up it’s not easy and it’s not working. He rudely says he’ll send someone out like we are the idiots. I asked him- what cost Spectrum more - having countless people like him on the clock to be on the phone with idiots like me for hours on end or just paying the guy they already paid to come all the way out to our house to deliver the thing an extra 5 min to install it. If it’s just so easy a monkey could do it why not just come inside real quick and do it?
Another couple days later the tech comes out to hook it up, I’m out back and notice he’s still here after about 30-45 min. I go out to ask him how he’s doing and what’s going on. He’s got an extension ladder out, is running a new cable from a power pole over our house, he’s starting to staple or drill holes into our wooden home. I stop him and ask what he’s doing. He says the boxes I spent 3 days trying to hook up don’t work because there isn’t a line running to the house. Probably should have been something the arrogant guy on the phone should have easily been able to look up. I
tell him to cancel it. He refuses to leave my property. Gets on the phone with his manager. His manager says my wife’s name is on the account so he needs to talk to her before they leave. I calmly walked inside and tried not to react. It’s 100 degrees out so I figure he can sit out there on the clock all night if he wants. He eventually leaves.
Now we have to return their junk they left here or they’ll charge us. So I’m supposed to install the stuff to a house you don’t have connected, you didn’t tell me it wasn’t connected to spectrum's lines, now I have to return your equipment when you had a guy here that could have taken it with him? Called frontier and they were out next day and hooked up internet in 5 min. And they are less than half price. These people need to be sued. I don’t work for you. For starters the Spectrum customer service chat is something spectrum should discontinue, automated bots just make customer angrier and trying to pass off as live agents is getting more problematic. And the live agents that customer calls are rude and disrespectful all while sending out the scripted apologies but never resolving issue or advising why there is a problem. My issue is that I have been on spectrum for 2 years and my services tend to go offline every night normally 3-5 nights consecutively and then random outages over the next several days. This occurs so often that I could not tell you the amount of actual time it has been unavailable but it is often and happens regularly.
I get every type of excuse from there in nothing showing in your end to there are emergency repairs in your area. I find that if there are that many emergency repairs that have to be made that spectrum is not as reliable as advertised. I have given up on trying to get spectrum to provide the 1g bandwidth that I am paying for because I have been lied to for the past two years on what my Internet connect speed is, but when the system goes completely out all the time and when it is on it is sketchy at best with low signal, buffering, pixilating and freezing for hours at a time is unacceptable. Then to have a customer service person in another state that has no clue, bark at me and insult my intelligence is extremely unacceptable.
There have been claims that a credit would be applied to my account, however that has also been a lie, and any miniscule credits that may have occurred do not compensate for the loss of work I have had over the last two years. Also, throwing service credit at us does not fix the underling problem if an unreliable service and local company doing little or nothing to resolve the issues. Spectrum is participating in false advertising, not providing services that are paid for and a total lack of customer service and since it is basically a monopoly on my area, spectrum does not care.

We've had Spectrum at our last three homes (10+ years of service cumulatively) but due to prices continuing to increase while their service continues to get worse (multiple times a month where internet has been down or spotty at all different times of the day), we decided to switch to a different internet provider. Spectrum claims to be a subscription service and in my experience with other subscription based services, you can call (or request online!) to put in a cancellation request at any time during the service period, and they will approve it but they will keep your subscription active till the end of the billing cycle. Not Spectrum!
When we called to cancel our service we were told that our internet would be cancelled the day we called, but we were still on the hook for the full bill. We called to cancel halfway thru our service billing period. For a company as big as Spectrum, why can't they handle an early cancellation request? Doesn't seem very customer friendly or customer oriented to me. Just beware, in order to not be out any money, YOU have to call specifically on the last day of service to cancel. But don't worry, before they grant you the privilege of cancelling, they'll throw discounts at you to get you to stay and if that doesn't work, they'll throw in some high-pressured tactics to get you stay too.
Only after all that, will they entertain cancelling your subscription. They say their cancellation policy is listed on their bill but nowhere on the front or back of my most recent bill (July 2025) do they state the cancellation policy...how convenient. For me, this is a VERY shady business practice, poor customer service and I will be staying far away from Spectrum moving forward.

I have been a Spectrum customer for 4 yrs. Due to constant increase in price, started at 120s. When I decided to change service it was $250. I truly had little to no issues with the actual service, just the price. Payments were autopay and never late. So we change services and I call for disconnect. 1st call to customer service for disconnect. The gentleman was so aggressively argumentative about me staying with Spectrum, would not listen, keep talking over me, dogging my choice of providers, that I final had to hang up. Service not disconnected.
2nd attempt 2 days later. I take all my equipment to the Spectrum store, my plan is to disconnect and turn in equipment at the same time. Enter the store as soon. As they open, before I'm even 5 ft in the store, I'm told after asking what I needed that I needed to disconnect through customer service and take equipment to UPS. 3rd attempt. I call customer service again on my way to UPS. The young man I got on the phone of course was trying to talk me out of changing, as per their job, until he refused to disconnect. So my upcoming bill due to be autopay in 2 weeks. He said he would not disconnect unless I paid it then. I told him after he refused, laughed and REFUSED TO LET ME TALK TO HIS SUPERVISOR. Kept saying supervisor was busy.
For approx. 10 minutes I told him that I wanted his supervisor and he refused. He continued to state he would not disconnect unless I paid the bill that was due in 2 weeks. I told him the final bill would be sent to me or autopay as usual. Still refused. I told him that it was illegal to refuse to stop a service at my request. I told him I was going as high in Spectrum as I could and notifying the FCC, and the BBB (which they are not even BBB accredited). After this he told me he would disconnect. I didn't believe him.
4th interaction. I call customer service back and get a very nice lady listened to me explain all my interactions and notified a supervisor. Of course the previous gentlemen had not put in a disconnect. She handled the disconnect and the supervisor was listening to the tapes of the calls of the other gentlemen that gave me such a hard time. Needless to say I will NEVER be a customer of SPECTRUM again, NOT EVER. The customer service can make or break a company.

Avoid Spectrum if you can. Local service providers are available all over the country, and those have a huge incentive to provide much better customer service. We had Spectrum for a while because it was the only choice. As our service became less reliable due to frequent neighborhood-wide outages, they charged more and more for the service each renewal. After threatening to cancel, they agreed to lower the rate temporarily. My condo building switched to a local provider, which provided much better speeds and service. I guess 1 Gbps isn't the same to Spectrum as it is to Ellum Net. When I cancelled, they still charged me for the remainder of the billing period even after disconnecting my service and receiving my returned modems.* I went up and down the phone escalation tree and even social media explaining that I could no longer use the service if I wanted to, but they refused to prorate.
Even returning the modems was a chore. I had to go to a store, sign in, wait for somebody to call me up, and then verify my identity to return my modems. It took me half an hour. Then they tried to tell me that they couldn't dispose of the box or extra cords and I would have to leave with the box. I figured they wasted enough of my time, they could stand to get rid of the extra garbage they sent me. I walked out sans box. * I had two modems. When I threatened to cancel previously, they told me that my modem was "not happy" and would need replacement, though I never had any problems with the modem itself. The replacement they sent me didn't work at all.

Then recently, I received notification of a rate increase on our internet. I called to see if they would work with me because I had been a good customer and paid on time every month.
They said there was nothing they could do, so I cancelled the internet and was never informed my mobile bill would increase. I'd recommend getting your own routers for wifi to save the couple bucks and have better wifi coverage, also have them set your modem to "bridge mode".
Other things you'll notice is your internet randomly being throttled till you call them and magically your speeds are back to normal. Usually every year or so you'll get a free speed upgrade, shortly followed by a price hike, and no ability to downgrade to a lower speed to save money. When I started with them we were at $40 a month, now it's $90 for only internet.

This is an unethical business practice because had it been communicated, I would have kept my service until the last day of the billing cycle to actually use the product I was paying for. Due to your representative not communicating this information, I cancelled my service 2 days into the billing cycle. That means that Spectrum gets an entire months worth of my money while only providing service for 2 days.

I am a Twitch streamer and have had to take the last 2 and a half weeks off to switch providers as Visionary has to dig and it's a a process to get service here from other providers. I live near downtown so I'm not out in the middle of nowhere. This might not be an issue in areas that have options but I highly suggest you do not use this company. It's insane how they make it seem like the issue is you. I have my xbox hard wired in, and can't play without ping issues. We have swapped modems, routers, and had techs here 3x with no fix. Do not use this company.

Was only using Spectrum for internet which was expensive but worked fine, used streaming for tv services. Called to schedule a move and was sold on a 2 year promotional tv/internet package that was going to be cheaper than what I was paying for internet alone so I took the deal. Go to watch a channel I was supposed to be signed up for and no service. Call customer support and was told my package does not include sports channels, which was part of the promotion. Then am told they can add it for more than what I was paying before I moved! Spent well over an hour on the phone just to be told it was physically impossible to provide the promotional package I was sold, and by the end of the call I had canceled all services all together. Do not trust Spectrum!!!

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!! THEY WILL CHARGE YOU FOR TWO MONTHS AFTER YOU END SERVICES - THEN SEND IT TO COLLECTORS AND RUIN YOUR CREDIT! - I had service with this company in 2022/2023. I called, told their person to end my service and they continued to charge me for services for two months, at which point I called a second time to tell them I no longer have or want their services and they told me my bill would be taken care of. I was on hold for over half hr as they 'figured it out' before being cut off. Today I received a $300 bill from collections.

My mother passed away May 30th. I was trying to get her bills all paid. When I called Spectrum the person I talked to was charging me for June and July 671.00. It’s not even July yet. She was very rude. They have been charging a 92 yo for a telephone for 3 years that she never had. Mama made her payment on May 3rd and passed away on May 30th but because I was 10 days late they wanted me to pay for another month. Plus a late fee. We took equipment back and they told my brother that the printer was down so he couldn’t get receipt. He took a pic of the screen. The next day they sent a email for us to return the equipment. This has been the worse experience I ever had.

I would NOT recommend Spectrum to anyone. My husband got sucked in by one of their sales people grocery shopping and ever since we have switched it has been an absolute nightmare where we basically don’t have any Internet, but are paying for it (Oh but they knocked off a whole $10) and every time we ask about the solution, we get the runaround and pass off to someone else because nobody seems to know what the hell they are doing there. It’s been extremely frustrating and I am very unhappy that we left a solid provider, which was AT&T and I will be dropping spectrum and never ever going back or recommending anybody to use them.

Last week I wanted to have a price confirmation about Spectrum’s internet fees. Simple, right? I called their sales line for that purpose. The sales rep informed me she couldn’t provide exact pricing without some information: Full name (to verify I did not have any outstanding bills with Spectrum), address (to see if internet service is available), phone number (in case connection was lost, she could call me back) and finally my email address (to send the requested information or quote to). After figuring out what my best plan would be, she gave me the price quote over the phone and communicated that all info would also be emailed to me. Simple, right?
To my utterly surprise, next day I received emails from Spectrum thanking me for my order (what?), giving me my security code, client and order numbers ( but, I never ordered anything!). A separate email listed the installation procedure and pointed out that - and this is the scary part - billing would start 8 days after the starter kit was shipped to me. Needless to say I needed to cancel this bogus order quickly to avoid receiving bills from Spectrum. Called Spectrum sales again and after a long back-and-forth conversation I was able to cancel this fraudulent order. I got an order cancellation message. So, be very vigilant with Spectrum sales reps. Asking questions implies ordering!

I have been a loyal customer of Spectrum for over 10 years, and I honestly regret every moment of that loyalty. My experience recently has been nothing short of a nightmare. My phone was stolen, and I immediately contacted Spectrum to resolve the issue. I wanted to settle the outstanding balance on the stolen device. However, Spectrum's policies are utterly ridiculous and unjust. Despite being willing to pay the device or make a payment cost and past due bills, they flat-out refuse to allow me to access or use my other phone lines. Their small print hidden away in what can only be described as five pages of confusing, unreadable legal jargon states that if you don’t pay for a stolen device, you will *not* be allowed to use any of your other services. This is not clearly communicated upfront, and it feels like a bait-and-switch tactic designed to maximize their profits at the expense of customers.
What’s even more infuriating is that they will accept your payment but then immediately cut off your access to all services, leaving you stranded and completely powerless. This is not just unfair; it’s downright cruel. They make it nearly impossible to resolve issues without losing everything. After a decade of loyalty, this is how they treat their customers? I will be looking for a new provider immediately. Spectrum’s policies are archaic, their customer service is terrible, and their approach to handling stolen devices and payments is unjustifiable. I do have insurance on the device. I just couldn’t recall at the time.

CUSTOMER SOLUTIONS!!! Yes initial and promotional prices do expire, but the customer solutions department will apply new ones. You just have to call them. Yes it’s an inconvenience to remember but for three years running I have had great agents. I know it’s part of their job to let you know about other products and I was never forced to take any of them and still given great promotions on my Internet. All of the agents I have spoke to were either in Florida or Texas, Very polite and could understand them clearly. I only had one issue in the five years I’ve been in this house and it was not their fault but we had a very bad thunderstorm and the line from the pole to the house got damaged, but I had a tech out the next morning he ran a new line and also updated my equipment ALL FREE OF CHARGE!
I seen a lot of complaints on here about them not prorating and it is clearly printed on each bill, It is not a secret and no one should be surprised. I also like that they verify your identity. Yeah, it may be a pain in the butt, but at the end of the day, it is protecting the integrity of your personal information. And with the amount of scammers and scam calls, it never hurts to take precaution. I did a lot of comparison before I made my decision to go with spectrum and felt they were the best choice. T-Mobile what they just got their third FCC fine for leaking data and personal info, Verizon 5G you better live close to a tower and it better not rain and don’t ever think that you can work from home using it!!!
People are all about fiber, fiber, fiber, well guess what fiber is glass and when it breaks, it takes a long time for it to get repaired not to mention if you get AT&T, they charge you $150 call out and they offer no outage credits. There is no perfect provider, there never will be! The number I use to contact the promo department directly is 855 707 7328.

I had closed the Spectrum account on April 28. Spoke to a representative stating I do not own any future charges. They were blowing my phone with calls almost begging me to keep the internet services account. Two months later, I've started receiving phone calls saying I owe $69 dollars because the rep. didn't close my account on April 28 as per my request. Mind you I did ask and reported the account should've been closed on April 28. May 10 I asked why they are calling me so much when I already told them and put the request on April, 10. They knew the billing cycle was going to end before the new one and they didn't close the account until then. Isn't that taking advantage of a good person? I will never recommend this company ever and never get their services ever again.

I don't have service with Spectrum anymore due to service issues. My complaint today is they had a cable laying in my yard for a good bit (six months or better). When I would call to see when it would be buried I was always told "we will get right on that". That line is no longer here and they have a crew digging holes in my yard to install a different line. There isn't a single customer service person in that company worth the pay they are getting because none of them have answers as to if the holes will be filled in and leveled so I won't have to work around them like I did a active cable in my yard.

Had to transfer service to a new apt a block away due to flooding and mold, and over a 3 week period, spoke with 5 different representatives went into a store (where there were 17 people waiting ahead of me...WHAT?), all reps told me different things, transferred me to people who had no idea why I was transferred to them, had fractured notes, had to repeat myself, then told, "well, hold on, I don't have that information so I need to ask you some questions" impatiently, when I had already told 3 previous individuals over 45 minutes... And SHE is getting snippy and snide with ME???? You used to be the "nice" internet provider. I think I should just go back to AT&T. Epic FAIL.

Absolutely horrible service. As of today June 21 2025 we have had 6 technicians come out to repair our service. We are now being charged for techs to come out. If we are lucky we get 1 to 4 hours a day of internet. We have no cable service or phone because of price. Each time the tech says they are escalating the issue, yet no response is ever heard. I called today and all escalations have been closed and shown repaired. I had a customer service run a diagnostics on my service and she said we had no visible connection at all. Her words were, "Packets keep dropping to no signal strength."
My wife is disabled with MS, I work full time but have cameras inside to keep a watch on her periodically thru the day, as I work close enough I could be home in minutes. with no internet the cameras are useless. If we are are paying for a service, why are we not given consideration when there is a known issue? Even the last tech who came out said it was moronic to even accept payment for a service we don't get. As of now I have no idea what to do, as I'm charged for a call out, and still paying 90 a month for a useless service.

It mentions as a “Pro” for Spectrum that they have different packages for different budgets. It should be noted that if you ever change or basically upgrade your service then they don’t allow you to downgrade back to a more affordable service. Not only that but they gradually increase your bill knowing you can’t downgrade to a lower cost plan so it’s basically a scam.

The customer service people (where they are from is a question) are nice but have no idea of the service they represent. Spectrum webmail has an all time record of spam and misdirected emails. Once we stopped the service to move across the country they promise to pass along our mails for 6 weeks which never happened no matter how many times we complained to customer "service". We have had a dysfunctional modem on several occasions. Will never go back even though we have the opportunity where we live now.

I’ve had nonstop internet problems with Spectrum for over two years, all due to a known issue with the node that services my area. The technicians who come out always acknowledge it’s the node, not anything in my house but customer service never does. They act like every call is a new issue and refuse to escalate anything until a technician comes out first.
This means I’m constantly forced to schedule technician appointments, even though the root of the problem is outside my home. While the techs do show up (credit where it’s due), I’ve had to take time off or rearrange my schedule countless times just to let someone in for a problem that’s clearly on Spectrum’s end. Meanwhile, customer service is no help at all, uninformed, unhelpful, and often rude. It’s incredibly frustrating to be stuck in this loop with no resolution, just the same excuses over and over. If you have any other option for internet, take it. Spectrum has been a huge waste of time and money.

Spectrum used to think they were the monopoly of cable and internet services and because of that, every single year they would increase their rates. It used to be a dollar or a couple dollars increase and now every year it would increase fives dollars with no new perks added to make sense of the increase. I was few up and got rid of cable by getting an antenna instead and got all my local channels for free and that's all I watched anyways. Then they keep increasing my internet to make up for it.
I was so frustrated until finally there was light at the end of the tunnel when new services became available in my area, Greenlight Networks and Empire Access, both using fiber optic technology for its internet service. I was paying $89 a month for 500 Mbps with Spectrum. Both Greenlight Networks and Empire Access offer 500 Mbps for $55 a month! That's right, $55 a month compared to what I was paying at $89 a month. That's a $34 difference a month! So darn right I jumped at switching and went with Greenlight Networks because they were available in my area first.
I have been satisfied since. I have had it for two years so far with no increase and Greenlight Network's internet is super-fast and I have had no issues since I became a customer. Spectrum messed up by being money hungry and cocky thinking they were the only internet service available besides Verizon & T-mobile internet service, which I didn't care for their service either because you're only allowed a certain amount of internet service data before their speed drops significantly. So the saviors for me were that new services like Greenlight Networks and Empire Access are becoming popular and available.
It's unfortunate that Spectrum ruined it for themselves by being so greedy, because their service, for the many years I had it, was great with hardly ever any issues and I have never had any complaints with their customer service. So because they kept raising their rates every year, they lost me as a customer, and my father also, who went with Empire Access.
Now I get in the mail, almost every day, a special offer from Spectrum for a very low price to reconnect with them for services. Yeah right, Spectrum. It would be that price until the year was up and then it would be back to ridiculous increase rates so nope, I'm fine with my new service provider. You have no one to blame but yourself for losing me as a customer and I am not returning as one no matter what special offer you give me. My advice to anyone that is fed up with Spectrum is to see if new service providers like Greenlight Networks or Empire Access are available in your area and go with them. You won't be disappointed. I'm sure not. I finally found a way out of their hold on me.
