    I bought a TV (Broken 55" Sharp 4k UHD Smart TV) during Black Friday last year 11/29/17 for around $298. I was highly encouraged to get the replacement plan through Walmart which is Asurion and was told that the plan covered accidents as well as manufacturer defects, so I bought it. Flash forward to approx 3 weeks ago, my sisters dog jumps up on my entertainment center and knocks down my television which subsequently broke the screen. So I contact Asurion and am told that my warranty does not cover accidental damage. I would have never bought Asurion's product had I been informed that they did not cover accidental damage, and I could not have known unless I read the very small print in the pamphlet that comes with the plan (after purchase).

    I intend on also filing a complaint with Walmart Corp, but I feel as though I was duped into buying a product that was not made clear what the coverage were prior to purchase. I had am very dissatisfied as I would have stuck simply with the manufacturer warranty had I known that accidental damage was not covered as that was my one and only reason for buying this. Beware of Asurion and know they cover accidental damage to laptops but not desktops or televisions as they are "made to be stationary". I cannot help but think there is a huge issue with covering an electronic device such as a laptop that can be well over $1,000 but a comparable desktop or television would not be covered. BEWARE! STAY AWAY FROM ASURION FOR TV RELATED MATTERS!

    The glass on my son’s phone broke. Called Asurion and filed a claim. Very easy. Man at house within 48 hours. Very professional and efficient. He replaced glass and guaranteed glass. Shortly thereafter, the phone stopped working. Apple examined the phone. Apple said moisture had seeped in under the glass. I called Asurion immediately. I expected the glass man to return. He did not. Asurion said the phone had to be sent in and replaced. The process scared me but Asurion sent packaging and tracked old phone and new phone. Definitely recommend.

    I am so dissatisfied with this service. I made an insurance claim, ended up not needing the phone because mine began working again. Call to advise them I will be sending back the phone. The lady said it was fine and wouldn’t charge me (which I knew was a lie). I send back the original phone immediately after it was received, didn’t even open the phone. Obviously they charged me so I called to see what’s up. I’ve been calling Asurion non stop and they tell me they received it weeks ago and that my refund is in process. I call AT&T and they say they never received the phone... Long story short, every time I call Asurion and AT&T they give me different info. Now they tell me that I sent back the wrong phone... I sent the one you sent me that was NEVER Touched! Never used this service in 2 years and now they want to play these games?!! This is ridiculous!

    My phone broke and was covered, but submitting a claim was near impossible because their website would not load. I tried uploading my documents multiple times on multiple servers and computers, and even the "live chat with a representative" failed. The website would not load, or would not upload my documents. Finally I had to call, and the customer service was wonderful - I spoke with someone very patient and helpful. However, without fax I now have to print everything and bring it to my wireless provider for them to fax. They did expedite my claim, but I would not recommend using this insurance company for phones because filing is a headache.

    I paid 149.00 to replace my damaged phone. The overnight express was awesome. But I discovered my home button not pressing properly. Like a cushion under it. And not on all calls but several. So far it would sound like a loud horn in our conversation. One lady thought a fire truck was passing. No it’s my phone. Not all calls but some. It’s happened several times. The speaker vibrates at my ear. So, Asurion wanted to charge me 149.00 again to replace a damaged phone they sent me. Few weeks later I call back. She wanted to do a factory reset right then & kept trying to reset my phone. Why all this? The home button ain’t going to press properly by a reset! The busted speaker ain’t going to work better by a reset! I gave up. I’m stuck with my damaged Verizon Asurion phone they sent me. Same issues I’m having with Verizon on my sisters phone they sent. Their sending out damaged refurbished phones. So not fair as much as we spend monthly.

    I contacted Asurion about a cracked screen on S8 plus, and was told that I could either wait for about 2 weeks, three weeks at the longest, and then pay 29 dollars and they would, at that time, have the ability to replace the screen. I made a claim and waited, and finally called them back after almost two months, to see why I hadn't been contacted yet. I was promptly told they had no idea if they would ever be able to repair the screen, and that I had one day left to complete the claim or they will close it.

    They basically told me I should have read the fine print closer, about the time limit for the claim, and they took no responsibility for what their employee told me or is telling others. Avoid Verizon phones and don’t waste your money on the insurance. My only other option was to pay 199.00 for a refurbished phone and that's all there is. It's so sad that these companies will easily take your money, charge you huge amounts for insurance, give out false information, and take absolutely no responsibility for their employees.

    My phone had a cracked screen, but still worked fine. I filed a claim with Asurion to fix the screen. They offered me a few different options including replacing the phone, upgrading the phone or just replacing the screen. I opted screen repair since it was working just fine and it was the most cost effective. I was told that there was only a few places that Asurion used to fix screens for their customers. They recommended one place in Maple Grove. This place was called UBreakIFix and it was about 20 miles away from my home. They said it would take approximately an hour to fix the phone and they would charge me on my next month's bill.

    Only taking the hour to fix as promised, it was just five minutes later when I realized the touchscreen did not work at all. Hoping it was a fluke or something easily fixed, I drove it back to the technician. The guy took it back for another 20 minutes and attempted to fix it. I waited patiently in the lobby. When he finally brought it back to me, the home button didn't work and the screen was completely white. Needless to say I was annoyed. He, however, said something that pushed me out of annoyance and straight into anger. He said I would have to file another claim for him to fix it. I asked him how I was supposed to do this when he broke my phone (my only means of communication) and why am I doing this extra step when he was the one who broke it beyond repair. He told me that Asurion sent over a defective screen and they would need another claim for him to fix my phone.

    Trying my best to keep my cool, I told him he needed to help me set up the claim over the phone being that I no longer had one to make a call. He said he would call Asurion for me. He hands me the phone and goes to help other customers. The woman on the phone from Asurion states she has no record of my claim or even my telephone number. After going over my name and number and explaining that there is no way for me to retrieve my confirmation number from my email at that moment (as I did not have my phone nor did they offer any assistance at the desk) at least three times- we realize he had called Verizon's branch and I was an AT&T customer (something the technician didn't ask before dialing). She then transfers me to AT&T's branch and I get sent to voicemail. I was so upset, I just left.

    I ended up going to the AT&T store, in which I still had to file a claim with Asurion. I told the rep everything that had happened and she stated that Asurion would be able to send a replacement phone in 2-3 business days, but they were still going to charge me for the initial $49.00 screen repair price. Why am I paying for a repair that rendered my phone useless? Why are they sending their customers to a place where phones are not getting fixed properly? Why are they sending their customers to a place where the staff literally hands you something they break and expects you to deal with it without offering to help at all? I have never written a review...ever. I seldom complain. My disappointment with the experience at Asurion today, however, was something especially negative.

    I have an iPhone X 64g in Silver. It was stolen while I was at the Beach. I filed a claim the next Monday. I was told my phone was on back order AND they would not give me a Temp phone until mine came in. I went to Sprint with the same issue, nothing they could do. I made repeated calls to no avail as a solution. Today I went online to their Chat, the guy I chatted with gave me an option no one else would. My same phone only in a different color. PLUS I still had to pay the $275. They DO NOT care about their Customer. I wish there was another alternative.

    I was on vacation and my phone got stolen. I cancelled the phone and ordered a replacement. The phone was returned to me prior to coming home. When I got home I called Asurion and told them the scenario. They proceeded to tell me to send back the replacement phone but will not release the hold on my recovered phone until they receive their replacement. That policy itself is horrible. Asurion received the phone on a Friday morning and then informed me they have a 24 hour period before they release the hold.

    Then comes Saturday, which I'm informed it's a 48 hour ordeal, then comes Sunday, there's no one working who can lift the hold until the weekday. I've been without the use of a phone that's in my possession for a week now. I called daily and a few times in the day to attempt to turn my phone back on and Asurion fails to understand or compromise. If you get a replacement phone and your lost/stolen phone gets recovered, just take the $225 loss you paid for the replacement phone or you will not have a phone that's in your possession for 2 weeks due to Asurion absolutely ridiculous policy.

    I purchased this plan as an add-on to my DirecTV acct., and used it for the intent to have the cracked screen replaced on my iPad Pro. I received a call saying it could not be repaired, which I found to be astonishing. After the agent said they would replace it with another iPad Pro, I agreed. That turned out to be a dumb move on my part. I received a refurbish, which I soon released would not take a charge. After a considerable amount of wrangling to prove the iPad was in fact not working, and I was not at fault, I received another replacement iPad.

    A little over a month later, I was at a ballgame and decided to used the iPad to record. I realized the front camera was not working. I called Asurion to apprise them of this and was promptly told that it was beyond the 30 days and they were not obligated. No consideration was given that this was the second refurb they sent and neither worked properly. I sent them a working iPad Pro to end up with a flawed refurb. I do agree that the major carriers need to be concerned and should look to provide an alternative to this shoddy run company.

    Having the Asurion warranty to replace an older model phone that broke, but you still love the model was worth it. But the co-pay fee should be lower especially if phone being replaced w same phone is older than two years and you've consistently had phone service active for same time. At $8.99 a month for over 24 months, I think that should cover at least being able to reduce cost pay by $50 for non-Apple phones.

    I have had horrible service. These guys take longer to get back to you, they don't know what will pass and what will not. I have a broken phone and in order to get it fixed, I have to have my dad send the documents. I sent them in and even though I'm an authorized account user they will not let me fill out the affidavit and sign it. They want my dad to fill it out and sign it. For my phone. Also, this is an insurance company for the two largest cell phone companies in the US. And they can't even provide an electronic affidavit to fill out. Wasting more time. This company needs to be broken up as I bet they are not paying what they should to the United States what they should. And I have no other options for cell phone insurance.     I spent 2.5 hrs during the first session talking and chatting with Verizon first and then several people at Asurion. At first, I was told that my phone had to be replaced so I needed an expensive upgrade with no discount just because I cracked the glass on the face. Phone still works. No problem there. Then after asking what good was the insurance, I was told after another ordeal that I would pay a $29 deductible and Asurion would fix my phone. The first people at Asurion assured me that I would pay the $29 deductible and they would come to my house and repair it. This is after being directed back continuously online to finish a form they refused to allow me to finish because my smartphone isn't manufactured anymore.

    I finally got someone else later in the afternoon and wasted my time again. I was then told that I had to replace my phone and that would be an $89 deductible. When I asked about the glass repair, I was told that I had been misinformed several times because they don't do that. Now, I've had to go online and purchase a repair kit for approx. $38.00 to repair my phone myself! I will be shopping for a different cell phone service provider even after being with Verizon over 15 yrs.

    Asurion was very quick with their replacement of our cracked phone screen by repairing the screen. We were thrilled with the option to just repair the screen at a reduced cost... until it made it so that many of the keypad buttons didn't work. They quickly sent a replacement phone but it was obviously not refurbished very well because from one week of use on it didn't work properly. So we had to have another phone sent. Asurion was quick with assisting us with the issues, but the hassle of dealing with broken phone(s) for this long kept us from a more positive rating.

    Received the Samsung S7 phone in good time and shape. Unfortunately, there was no manual to go with it. Would be great if there was one already included to help with the setup. While these are refurbished phones, and probably not Asurion's responsibility to provide a manual, however, for the price paid every month for the insurance, you would think something regarding setup would have been included with the replacement phone. I miss my S5 - it was a better phone and easily set up. The battery may also need to be replaced as it doesn't hold a charge very long.

    We were convinced to purchase insurance when we bought our phones under the assumption that they would cover damage. When my husband cracked the screen on his Samsung Note 8, we called Asurion. Guess what? They don't repair a Note 8, they replace it, which means any damage (including a cracked screen) requires a $199 deductible and they send you a "new" one, then you send in your damaged one. I assumed since the screens are curved that this meant the screen couldn't be fixed so we went ahead with the return. Upon receiving it we discovered two things: Without insurance, you can get a cracked screen on a Note 8 fixed for $249. The "new" phone they send you is most likely refurbished (I called them to check about ours and they confirmed it was refurbished). We decided to get our phone fixed on our own and sent back the refurbished one.

    They sent us a return envelope so we used that and tracked it. About a week after they received it (I know because I checked the tracking number), I had yet to receive a refund. I called and they said, "Oh yeah, we received it, but someone just didn't hit the "refund" button. Let me do that for you now." Within a week, I received a call from their collections department asking when they should expect to receive my phone. Well, I sent back YOUR phone and you've refunded me, so why are you calling me? I thought after speaking with them, that would be that, but no. I then received a "FINAL NOTICE" letter threatening to charge me $300 if they didn't receive the originally damaged phone by the 30th of May.

    By the way, they dated this the 23rd of May and I am in California and they are in Tennessee, so thanks for the plentiful heads-up about charging me. So, I called again and explained my story and asked if that is what she had on record there and she said, "I see that the phone is in transit. When did you send it back?" At this point, I am really pissed so I go off on my entire tail and how pissed I am that their insurance is useless and crap. Then she says, "Well, if you let me finish..." Which is funny since she asked me a question so that sounds like she was finished. Then she tells me that they do have all of that on record and she just had to click some other button that told them to stop harassing me since everything was already taken care of. Firstly, why didn't she see this right away and mention that and secondly, if they have on record that I returned it, why doesn't that automatically trigger them to leave me the heck alone?

    What a ridiculous crock. This company claims to cover your items and then charges you nearly the full price of fixing the damage but doesn't fix them and instead sends you a replacement refurbished phone that God only knows what issues it had in the first place. Then, they get your phone and fix it and send it to someone else or resell it or whatever. I know that my phone only had a cracked screen, who knows if the one they sent had more serious issues. Why would I send you a perfectly functioning phone for a replacement with questionable issues. On top of that, to follow every one of their instructions down to the letter from notifying them that I am returning the refurbished phone to sending it back in the required amount of time, only to have to call them to remind them to refund me and again to stop threatening me with charges for something I already took care of is beyond ridiculous.

    I am going to be canceling my subscription as soon as I know this is all done, for real. Quite frankly I don't believe this is over yet. I don't trust that they actually took care of this. It is ridiculous to me that a company of this size with such a strangle-hold on this part of the industry would not have their stuff together enough to communicate between all of their departments to stop wasting time and money to harass customers who did everything they were supposed to and don't need further contact. If you're looking to sign up with them, be sure to check the phones they fix and the ones they will flat out replace no matter the issue. It seems like the more expensive and new the phone, the less likely they are to actually fix it for you. What a scam.

    Also, they had me take a survey at the end of that last phone call and I left a message explaining how upset I was and I got cut off. Then at the end it asked if I would allow them to use it for advertising purposes. Well definitely NO, but I'd love to see that ad. Let's see if they contact me about that or just let it go because they don't actually care about their customer satisfaction. My recommendation: Get a good phone case and some renter's insurance. If it's stolen the renter's insurance will cover it (so you can buy a NEW phone, not a crap refurbished one) and if it's damaged, you will have saved money from not paying for their insurance each month and hopefully that will be a nice down payment on the repair.

    I had to make a claim and received a replacement phone. The new phone worked fine for a little over a week, then started giving me problems. It would restart, then go into a loop of restarting. If it was plugged in, it would slowly re-charge and work fine for a day or so, then go into the restart loop again.     So I broke the screen on my cell phone. I called my insurance company Asurion and filed a claim. Everything ok so far. I paid my 199 dollar deductible. Was told the new one would be here within 24hrs. or the next day. Device never showed up. No warning. Nothing. So I called them and they told me the flight was delayed and I would get it in one more day. I was mad. I had no phone for 2 days. When I spoke to the customer rep I told her I understand you can't help delayed flights but then you shouldn't promise next day service in case something like this happens.     This insurance company stated that my phone was covered for cracked cell phone screen and when I notified them about my cracked screen, they said that I am not covered in my area. I contact Corporate office and they were not helpful. They told me that I have to pay 195.00 for a new phone! False advertising, not reliable when needed and very disappointed with misleading information.

    I was very satisfied with the speed they shipped my replacement and the quality of the phone they sent back. What I was not impressed with was the price of the deductible. I pay a premium every month on a phone and have paid well over the $200 in premiums. Why is the deductible so expensive. Phone fell out of Otterbox clip 2 days later and broke again. I will just have to deal with it. Cannot afford to pay deductible again. That would be $400 plus my bill for the month. I work every day but I am not rich.

    I received my phone quickly. Was reactivated and ready to go quickly! My original phone screen just stopped working. I wish, given the cost of the insurance, that the copay was less. Sometimes handing out that extra money when you aren't expecting it can be hard. Perhaps the fee could be prorated for the age of the phone.

    Had to pay an outrageous deductible only to be sent a defective device. After calling only 7 days after receiving my device I was told I would have to pay yet another outrageous deductible. The entire process was a hassle! I emailed corporate and received an email back telling me to call and they would handle the issue only to spend another 30 minutes on the phone and get absolutely nothing accomplished! I received not just one email but two within an hour from different representatives so apparently the communication within the company is as poor as the way they treat customers and the “refurbished” replacement devices they send out. Unfortunately my experience with Asurion was very adverse and I would not recommend the company to anyone! It’s a total waste of money paying $35 a month for total mobile protection plus an outrageous deductible only to receive a defective “refurbished” device.

    Recently my daughter broke the screen on her brand new phone. I was very unsure of what my experience would be with utilizing the insurance coverage. I filed a claim online through the Asurion website, and was pleased with how easy it was to complete. The next day a phone was shipped to us overnight, which we received the following day.

    When we received the phone, we had a problem extracting the SIM card from the old phone as the plastic SIM card holder broke off and was unable to be removed. I was concerned that this would alter my claim, as I had made it solely for a broken screen. I called Asurion and spoke with a representative who assured me that I would not be charged a fee for the further damage. I returned the damaged phone in the mailer provided and a few days later I received an email that my phone was received and that my claim was complete and that I would not be charged a non-return fee (or any other fee). It seems that the representative was true to their word.

    The phone I received was in very good condition and appeared to be almost new. So far we have not had any problems with the replacement phone, but if we do Asurion has warranted the phone for one year so I am not too concerned. I would not hesitate to use Asurion again should something happen to this phone or to one of my other covered devices.
