    We just moved into a house at the end of street on a cul-de-sac. The street is not in a development. There are about 15 homes on average of 5 acres of land on the street. We have had 2-3 service techs out to install Mediacom and each one says that they are not able to. However, all of the rest of the street, including our two abutting neighbors, have Mediacom.

    We were told that we need to speak with a Mediacom developer/construction lead (I am not sure of the exact title). Instead of calling, my wife, kids and I went to the Mediacom office. Unfortunately, due to the Easter holiday, the gentleman to whom we needed to speak was not in the office. We are now trying to contact Jack ** (aka Brooks) to see what needs to be done.

    I am a surgeon and need access to xray films and hospital charts electronically and my wife is homeschooling our three children. The homeschool work is becoming more internet dependent. We are currently trying to use our Verizon signal with a Boost antenna. This has been quite unsuccessful. The prior owner had AT&T. We have not been able to obtain a reason why we are the only home on the street that cannot have service. Our house, as multiple others on the street, is set back about 0.2 mile from the street. Is there anything that can be done to my family obtain service? Thank you.

    The problems are still continuing that started in Feb. We have had service people to come out but it has not been resolved. The internet will be up and then "connection interrupted", or the page freezes. I am very dissatisfied with this service. The phone and tv connections are no problem. Someone should remedy our problem.

    We subscribed to Xtream with telephone connection in January, but as of last Friday our telephone service was not completed despite our being billed for it. Simultaneously we were paying our previous telephone company. I cannot get any action from Mediacom on this problem.

    Where to start: When I ordered I was quoted a price then without notice it was raised. Then my package was to include certain programs. A month later, "Oh sorry. You can't get those in your area." Wasn't offered anything to replace them. I started having trouble with my internet and phone at day one. I'm on my 3rd modem and still it goes out. Sometimes it takes a day or 2 to reset. 3 times I've had a service person out. Each time I'm told that "It's all fixed. You'll have no more trouble." I'm now waiting on the serviceman to come out and tell me it's all fixed.

    I can't figure out why my screen every now and then freezes. My internet keeps kicking my son's off of all my gaming devices and every time I get a tech come out here they said it's fine but it all works just before he gets here just fine. After he leaves it works but a day or two then goes to **. It's to the point I'm ready to throw it on the yard. I wouldn't recommend Mediacom to nobody. Service sucks.

    3 weeks ago a storm came through and we suddenly experience intermittent dropout of TV and Internet. Multiple calls and reboots achieved no good result. Weekend of March 24 & 25 had major malfunctions on multiple channels. Scheduled a tech. Tech came 3/29 and witnesses the digital freeze but could not verify a problem. Weekend of 3/31 & 4/1 was Again major issues. With the family and guests gathered to watch Jesus Christ Superstar Live on NBC we found that your service was unwatchable.

    Also golf matches on NBC had issues both weekends and the NCAA Final Four was unwatchable on TBS and CBS. I am not certain we are having issues with the phone line as we do not use it for much. If the issues are not corrected we will have to try a different provider. You charge too much for a service that does not work all the time. As these issues are worse on the weekends I would suggest that it is a capacity issue. The more users/streaming/watching the worse it gets!

    Service sucks. You advertise excellent service and fast internet. Well my channels like HBO, Showtime Breakup a lot. Some I can’t watch. Internet very slow. Price charge for lousy services too high. Looking into other cheaper options and better service. Contacting other providers. Can’t afford Mediacom. Your service and pricing has to improve. Probably moving to another provider. Too expensive and service sucks.

    I am the guardian for Sally ** and I explained that she is disabled when I called to make the appointment. We gave her a large flat screen and I wanted her to have her old small TV installed in her bedroom. The repair man told her he didn’t have time to do that and simply put a new wire in for the new big thin the location she wanted. I had explained she is intellectually disabled and I expected her to be treated better than that. I am furious and I do not want her to have to pay for another visit just because she is not able to insist on the job we had arranged.

    The last several months I have had a problem almost every month. My wireless goes down. I have to spend time working with someone over the phone to no avail, they send a technician but I have to wait 7 days, my Netflix stops working, I can't record, again I have to wait for 6 days, my TV downstairs stops being able to receive anything, I have to wait 2 days, my downstairs remote stops working and I have to wait for 2 days again. When I ask what the issue continues to be I am told that they changed something and they are working out the bugs. No comfort to me. Previous to this I had no problems for years. My suggestion, before you "change" something, pick a test market and try in there then install it everywhere.

After doing several tests it was determined that the problem was with a connection out in the junction box. He said a repairman would take care of it and that I would need to be home.     Had an appointment from 5-7 pm last week. I informed Mediacom in advance that I would not be home until 6:15 pm and the technician phoned my home at 5:30pm for service. Once I arrived at home I called Mediacom and they told me that the technician would come back and he never did nor did I hear anything else from Mediacom. I checked my email and notice the order had been finalized. Second time that I have dealt with poor service. Never Again.

    Problems from the beginning with installation. It was hooked up wrong and service didn't work correctly for weeks before someone finally came to redo it. Not long after I had service I started getting large amounts of junk mail and I believe Mediacom gave my info out. All the junk mail came in my mom's name and her name was on the Mediacom account, because I was away for work. The only way her name could have been associated with this address is through Mediacom. I was disappointed to find out that Game Show Network was not available through Mediacom.

    OnDemand is a joke. There are very limited movies and shows available through OnDemand via Tivo. Mediacom OnDemand online is even worse. It is not possible to watch programs within the Mediacom website. I wanted to watch a show on History Channel through OnDemand and was taken to the History Channel website to watch, after signing in and registering my service company blah, blah, blah. After I finally got to the program I wanted watch I had to watch commercials every 10 minutes or so and one of the advertisements was interactive. I don't even use the OnDemand service because it's not worth the trouble.

    Compared to other cable services I've had, Mediacom is like "ghetto cable." It seems really "cheap," outdated and the whole advertising thing goes too far. The Good: Customer Service is great! Every day when I got home from work my service didn't work, for the first several weeks, after installation. Customer service was always very nice, helpful and professional. No matter how upset I was when I called, I was never mad on the phone boucle. Customer Service was always pleasant.

    All I have is internet with Mediacom, I have had 4 technicians at my home and none have corrected my connection speed, I am only getting a fraction of what I am supposed to get. I pay for 100mbs and only get most of the time around 20mbs. The last tech that was here told me to lower my package because I would never get what they are selling me. I have spent countless days and dollars trying to get my internet correct. I have even bought a new modem!

    I have been with Mediacom 13 years and initially was very satisfied but the past several times I have dealt with Mediacom has been a nightmare. They don't do the service they say they're going to do and when they do they get the total order wrong. This past visit they told me the serviceman would not have the modem I needed so they shipped it. When the service man got here, he said he had it and could do the whole job where they were going to send a second man on a different day to give me an upgrade which I never asked for. Because they sent that modem, I had to take it back to the Mediacom store. They have also told me my bill would decrease and what the amounts would be only to find I was billed more. I plan on leaving them when my contract is up in July. Really tired of having to call them about things I never asked for in the first Place. Totally totally frustrated.

    Mediacom is local here and I have been satisfied with them. The installation team was wonderful, and the people were great. Before I moved into assisted living, I had a technician come over to my other place to get something fixed and he came out right away. His name was Carl and he was really good. The others had been all good as well. I have cable TV with them. Once in a while, everything goes off, but I think that's a common thing. You get that little breakup. It looks like a weather map or it clicks off and you have not been near it, and I do not know why that happens. There is a black hole now and then, but eventually, it comes back on. Nevertheless, I really like Mediacom. I’m happy with it.

    The apartment that we live in has Mediacom and I went along with it. I added on some other things with their regular cable which has a fine quality. I have just the television but I have Family, HD, music and movies. Their team was helpful and I’ve never had any problems with them at all. They’ve been very nice and any problem I’ve had, they told me when the problem will be taken care of and it was. The installation took them almost no time at all and the technicians were very thorough in showing me how to use it. As an older woman, I’m kind of slow at learning things, but they took the time to show me everything. When I have a problem, I call Mediacom and they’re very nice on the phone and right to the point.     Mediacom was handy in the town I’m in and I’m going on my third year with them now. I play games a lot on my handheld and I watch Television a lot. But I had trouble for two months where my internet and my telephone were going out for five hours a day. I’m an older person and I needed the phone. That is how I communicate with people. I don't have a cellphone and in order to call them and tell them what was wrong, I had to borrow my sister’s or my brother’s cellphone. It was a hassle. I had techs come twice but nothing was fixed so it kept right on doing it. Finally, this last tech who came checked the wires outside and found a wire had been cut accidentally. He fixed it and I have not had any trouble since last Friday.

    But before, they also fixed it and it worked for a day but then went out again. So I’m working with them and it’s been exasperating. Everybody tried to work with me a lot but the first two techs that came didn’t check anything outside. Had that been done, I would have been all right from the start but they neglected to do that. My personal experience wasn’t good but before all this happened, I was fine.

    I have had Mediacom for about 7 years now. Reason is the alternate provider in my area doesn't have a particularly good reputation either. I have paid for 60 megabyte speed service and generally get half that. I have had the router replaced 3 or 4 times now and may be calling again soon. The service technicians tell me that 60 speed service means "up to" and not 60 guaranteed. I have to reboot frequently and if there was another decent provider I'd be gone.

    I have phone service through Mediacom also and when the router isn't working correctly my phone drops out and I have to call for service on my cell phone. When I call the helpline I get the same "try rebooting routine" every time and it takes time to get across to the person that I have been rebooting and that's not what is needed. It's the router. I conduct frequent speed tests when it's running slow and it's not unusual for me to be getting 10-15 mbyte service and once again I have to reboot. I'm tired of this, but don't have any other worthwhile options to replace it with. Just did a speed test prior to sending this and it was 31.7. So much 60 speed.

    The guy from Mediacom who came to the door lied to us and told us we could get the Midwest Kansas City Fox station and when the baseball season rolled around, we couldn’t. I was told that DirecTV has the trademark so I canceled the TV part and went back to DirecTV. Whoever it was who was going all over trying to get people to get Mediacom just because it’s cheaper, he needs to know what he is doing. I’m upset that he didn’t know what he was talking about.

    I got a bill last month for the full amount which should have only been half since I kept the internet. We’re very pleased with it and I told them that when I took back the equipment for the internet and they were very nice and they understood. But when I called Mediacom, the rep didn’t know what I was talking about. Then the second time I called in, the guy I talked to did all the checking and he went back to see that they could not get it and why. So I understood that and they were actually pretty good. But now, I’m having trouble getting the bill straightened out and that doesn’t make me happy because it’s double. When we were going out of town, I didn’t want them to cancel our internet so, I went ahead and paid it under protest.

    In Iowa, it is better to go with the cable line because of the weather. The equipment goes here occasionally and the line gets yanked out. They got pulled out, once or twice. We then talked to the guy the last time and we haven’t crossed our line going across the road. Also, I talked to the man to just raise it up just a little bit higher and I haven’t had a problem since. One time when I called, however, it took a while -- there was a lot of people. But, we got the service quick and that was great. Also, I like mine because it is not an above wire. I had them put it right down in the ground and run right to the house. I like that the best way, where I don’t have to worry so much about. All I get to worry about is somebody takes out our telephone pole. That way, you know you are going to lose it. But, usually, you do something like that, and there is as a quick fix and that works well for us.

    I am currently searching for a better internet and cable provider because Mediacom is charging me crazy charges just for changing locations. I paid $30 for installation and that's cool but my next bill had another one time charge for $133.00 on top of the $206.00 for that month. They claim that was a charge for the account at my old address. But I have not missed any payments. I have paid my bill every month.

    I had a problem before when my 2 year contract expired. My bill kept going up and going up and going up, so I called and they told me my bill would continue to go up unless I signed another 2 year contract! What kind of ** is that? Anyway I am very disappointed to be forced by Mediacom to leave because their internet service is awesome! I am just fed up with all these crazy ridiculous charges. You give new customers phone, internet, and cable for $99.00. Why are you charging me nearly $200.00 a month when I have been a loyal customer for 4 years plus?

    The service itself has been good and we’ve had good luck with Mediacom except that the cost is getting high for the channels we watch. We have the basic and the expanded services, and we get a surcharge from some sports package. I sure don’t need more sports channels. We got too many of them now and we don’t watch half the channels. We’ve had Mediacom ever since they were Waterloo Cablevision and they have changed a lot. They're getting more charges. Now, we’re being charged for that little box we had on our TVs three years ago. It used to be 99 cents a month to rent it and now, it’s $4 a month. We're in the process of looking around to see if we can find something better that’s cheaper.

    I live in an apartment complex and Mediacom is the provider for cable but not for internet. I asked the manager and she said that I could have the internet installed in my apartment, so I have Mediacom's internet directly to me. I get the bill and I pay it. And it was easier for that than to bring another one in because Mediacom was wired into the apartment. The Mediacom sales team was great. The technician who came did a great job and he also gave our maintenance man his telephone number. They had to come back once when I had a problem with the internet and the gentleman who came out did quite a bit of work. He had to put in a new line and new connections, and so I’m on a dedicated line now. He came from Springfield and he had lost a tool. I found it and I called Mediacom to let them know and I still have it here.

    There still have been some problems with the internet but I haven’t had to call Mediacom back as I call my computer tech and he comes out and strengthens the computer for me. Mediacom also goes through some down time with the cable but that’s only because we changed some cable to HD. The lines were put in when it was built for old television and so I can understand the problems with that. And it is all why it’ll come back on eventually. The Mediacom team is only here on Fridays so if there’s a problem on Monday then there’s a wait time. That’s a little frustrating to some of people and I can deal with it but sometimes it goes out all over the town. The other tenants get upset but I know that eventually it’ll get taken care of.

    Mediacom's service is not the best but it’s not the worst either. I just had it installed here again two months ago. I had a box put on so that I could get information and sports channels. It goes down when I most want to watch something and when there’s nothing on to watch, it doesn’t go down. I’m 83 years old and I can’t understand most of their reps. They either talk too fast or they’re foreigners. Also, it is very hard to find out what’s on the channels. Their information channel is not always right. I wish they would put out a magazine telling us what channels are available and what’s on those channels.

    I called into to have my services transferred and to see about new pricing options. I was giving a new price for staying with Mediacom as I was a existing loyal customer. I agreed to the new terms and pricing. I scheduled the appointment for the transfer and was a happy consumer. The installation was easy and the tech was very nice and personable. I received my bill shortly after and was shocked by a balance of almost 300 dollars. I called right away to address my concerns and was first told that my contract renewed in May and that is why my pricing was so high. I then battled them to at least admit that they were incorrect and finally we both agreed that my services did being in March of 2016. I was then told that a transfer fee would be waived as I was never informed of that at all until this bill.

    When pressed about the pricing options I was told that my new pricing had not been applied and that they would transfer me to someone who could update that information. After about 2 hours of talking with retention the true issue came to light. The pricing was never applied and now that promotion is no longer available so I have to settle for what they have. That was not acceptable to me so I requested the situation be escalated as I verbally agreed to a contract and that contract was not being honored on their part. After almost 2 weeks of phone calls back and forth and many misdirection I finally just settled for whatever pricing with the agreement of no contact so I may now begin to search for a company that not only respects and honors their contracts but also the customers.

    Updated on 05/07/2018: I have been trying to transfer my services as I moved to my first home. I was previously in a apartment and content with my services. I reached out in Feb of 18 to have my contract and services transferred as well as inquired about a new contract and pricing options. I was quoted a package and price that I agreed to and was under the impression that my services and new pricing were in effect when the tech came to re-install my services at my new home. I was later shocked when I received a bill for almost $400! That is not at all what I had agreed upon and was never able to get a concrete answer on why my bill was so high.

    After about a week of calling into Mediacom and getting bounced around to several people I was able to get a grasp on the situation. I was told that the contract I was quoted was incorrect and that the deals they were offering then are no longer available and that I was going to have to settle for their current pricing. I agreed again and was told this is not a contract by my billing will not change from what is agreed upon. Well, now a month later and just as I had suspected another bill has arrived and again the balance due is $3 shy of $400! So for a total of 3 months will have averaged about to $266 per month for what was costing close to $180 at my prior residence and prior to my move.

    To add even more pain to the situation while watching tv I am bombarded by commercials for Mediacom on their easy transfer of services and great deals. I guess those don't apply to me for some reason as I now find my self paying more for cable than student loans and a car payment combined... all because I took a step and bought a house and thought it would be great to keep my services. I would consider the inability to adhere to one contract bad customer service but twice now is really pushing it. Also I was told via customer service today that they will email my request as they were not able to resolve the billing situation and that someone from "Consumer Affairs" will be reaching out to me, however there is no timeline or even phone number that I can watch out for to ensure I receive the call.

    I am now again left in limbo for someone who may know what is going to contact me. I have had better luck receiving quality service via these complaints than I have had calling in. This is now my 2nd complaint about this company as the issues are not resolved and I no longer am able to reply via my 1st complaint. Let's see what happens this round... I had asked to even be returned back to my previous services as I was completely content with them prior to my move but was told that was not a option... I guess I shouldn't be surprised when a company can't adhere to one contract why would they adhere to a second or one that they had previously adhered too. I am not a typical person to create issues or complaints but I can honestly say at this point I have never been treated or swindled by a company that I had been previously loyal to for years prior to this instance of bad behavior.

    Mediacom is the perfect example of why you need competition. 3 months I have been without internet service. They continually come out and tell me the same thing over and over and say it will be repaired. Nothing. Open another ticket. Supervisor won't speak to me, customer service reps are of no help, just drone out the company line.

    On-Going internet issues so we submitted a review after having such an awful experience trying to get internet transferred to our new home. After that taking multiple weeks to accomplish we have since had to have 3 new modems and 5 service calls since the end of January, just for them to tell us on Friday there is a interference issue. They said, "Oh it can take another 2 weeks for us to get somebody out here to correct it." I get things happen, but I am so tired of being on their timeline. We are always waiting but never getting anything resolved.

    They also really don't care, because they know they are the only option we have. So I am stuck not only paying them, but paying a higher cell phone bill because we have to use our hotspots, while on internet conference calls because we can't rely on the internet working. We are having to reset it multiple times during the day which is ridiculous. If our cell phone hotspots worked better with my company's programs I would forget Mediacom all together but it is just not fast enough with what we have to do. However we refuse to give our customers bad service so we try and do whatever we have to ensure we come through for them. I wish Mediacom would do the same!

    I had AT&T way back in the day but a friend told me that Mediacom was better than anybody else. Now, I’ve had Mediacom for 25 years at every place I’ve lived at and I have basic cable, phone, and internet. Their team has always been excellent whenever I’ve had to call them. Everything was great with the installation and they took care of me great. They’re on time too. In the past, the service would always get disrupted. They came back out and found out that I had been given an old modem that they don’t even use anymore. So, they changed out both my modems for the phone and the internet, and I haven’t had any problems since they did that. So, I’d tell anyone who asks me to go for Mediacom.

    My bill crept up to right at $150.00 for internet and cable TV so I canceled the only premium cable service that I had so that my bill would be a little more than $100.00. I have no premium services whatsoever. Now, my bill has crept back up to $144.86 and I'm looking around for other options. This is ridiculous. The service isn't that great all the time either. Some of the TV channels freeze and freeze over and over but my main concern is how they keep adding onto the bill.

    I have been with Mediacom for 22 years! I added internet and asked, since I've been with them so long if I could get the best rate. Sure, no problem I was told. I got my first bill and it was not the amount I was told and so I called, it was immediately fixed and I was assured it would stay at that rate. NOT SO! In a couple of months it went up $10. I called and they said, "Yes, you had a free modem for three months". Why wasn't I told? Then I found out it would be going up again! Another $20 in July. So I called the other day to verify because I figured I would just cancel, I've had enough, THEN I was told I was on a contract and would be penalized by $260 if I cancelled. A contract after 22 years, really?

    I should have been told this information up front. I sent an email outlining my experience to customer service and was told to contact them, they didn't want to lose me as a loyal customer. They have all kinds of deals. HAH! just a generic email. I called and was told all cable companies are the same, you get a deal then it goes up, you won't get any better anywhere else. So if you're gonna go, o well basically. Really? So I emailed customer service again and pretty much got the boot. Sorry to see you go but whatever.

    Moral here is Mediacom lacks ANY sort of decent customer service. Their employees are either not trained or their scammers, you decide. AND there is no reward for being a customer for 22 years. No loyalty here. My rates were always going up and I thought I finally was being rewarded for my loyalty, not so. I would suggest you go with any number of their competitors and save yourself the frustration of dealing with their rate hikes. I don't know why, looking back, I have stayed this long. As soon as I'm out of this contract I'm done. Consider yourself warned. Read the other reviews and you will find a definite pattern!

    If I could give half a star I would. We built a new home and have tried getting Mediacom to put service in for us. I have spent approximately 3 hours and 10 phone calls and we still don't have service. I can't believe the terrible customer service with this business. We are told over and over again that a technician will come to our house to try to set up service and nobody ever comes or calls. We don't know what else to do at this point. This is the most frustrating company to deal with. I started calling for the first time on February 16th and I don't have any more answers 6 weeks later. Extremely disappointed.

    My experience with Mediacom has been all right so far. I have used them for a long time and I haven’t really had a problem with it. It does get a little expensive sometimes. I get tired of seeing the new deals that people get that are really cheap when people that have been paying for a long time are not getting a deal. I get that they’re trying to bring in customers, but it’s irritating. Also, I’ve got my phone which hasn’t been working for about a week because one of my cats pulled something out. I have a cellphone, so it’s not really a big issue for me at this point. But I got to get that taken care of this weekend.

    Also, I do have an issue with their advertising. They have a commercial where they have a little girl in glasses in a striped shirt, talking about her father trying to hold it up to get better reception. I had seriously been thinking about canceling the service because I can’t stand that commercial. That is the rudest commercial I’ve ever seen. On the other hand, their quality of service is not bad. However, I am really tired of getting the recorded phone calls that have used the phone number that you can’t call back. I’d like them to fix that. If they don’t have a viable callback phone number, I’d like it to be kicked out of my system because I’m tired of answering them.

    Furthermore, I have been getting charged for a couple of years now for a box that I told them I don’t have. I got my service shut down here a while back because apparently, I had a box that was under my older sister’s name where I lived before I moved here. I don’t know how that got shut off but they’ve been charging me for two extra boxes that I don’t have. I suggested that they go ahead and put out a signal and shut those boxes down. So, if somebody’s using them, they can get them back, because I don’t have them, I’ve just been paying for them. And they couldn’t take the box back that I had because they had to upgrade, which of course was more money than what I was paying. That part doesn’t make me too happy. I didn’t like having to take the box in and get stuck with a box that’s more expensive. It’s mostly about the money for me because I’m 68 years old and I’m trying to watch my budget.

    I picked up Mediacom when I first moved here and we have cable, internet and phone. The TV goes in and out sometimes but I think it’s the weather. And sometimes the picture freezes on us which may have something to do with the station wire. We've had to call the technician back a couple of times but it was all right. We had the storm in January last year and they’re usually pretty good about coming.

    When people get in their 70s, there are a lot of things that they don’t need. I find myself paying for cable that I really don’t need. I don't even watch Disney. The only thing I can do is keep my cost down and I’ve called several times to get a contract for a couple of years. I got a contract with them in February and the price has been 119 now. That’s not too bad but without the contract, it went up to 173 and that was really out of range. As one with set income, I would have had to change so I told them I couldn't afford that.

    There should be some kind of elderly package. The AARP makes millions of dollars doing that because cable is so expensive in different areas. But if Mediacom could cater to the elderly people, they'd have all of our business. How often do we watch TV? Really, we don’t. It’s just the idea that it’s there. But when it gets out of range where elderly people can’t afford this, we’re gonna go with digital. You can get digital for such a cheap price and Mediacom will lose a lot of business. It's not that they can compete with the prices but their product can get good enough that we'd pay the extra dollar to have the good product.

    I have had internet with Mediacom for ten years. They're the only people you can go to around here. I recently had problems with my router and when they saw what was wrong, they came to fix it. They guided me over the phone then they told me that a technician will come, and then he came later that week. They laid a new cable from the meter box that comes out in the yard up to the house and they changed out the router. I wish they lowered their prices, but so far the service has been good.

    First of all I was on the phone for 1.5 hours tonight trying to change our cable. We have been with Mediacom for 13 years now, I talk with 2 different people and 1 Supervisor tonight. The girl explained many different options I had for cable. I kept asking the worker if it was that same options I have now. She kept saying yes, so I pick one of the options she offered then she tells me they no longer offer DVR, reset my cable and magically my DVR is gone now and we lost everything we had recorded with no warning.

    So after that happen I proceed to say then I don’t want that because it’s not the same I just want what I have. She said, "That’s not an option anymore." I said, "Ok just give me back what I had." The Supervisor said, "Ok that will now be $220." I proceed to tell her that I’m currently only paying $170. She makes me feel terrible and like it’s all my fault and it was a misunderstanding between me and the other girl. She kept telling me there is nothing she can do because I told her to go ahead with the $119 contract and now I have to pay to get out of it. Again I would have no problem with this if it would have been the same.

    At this point I was a little upset and been on the phone for 1hr 15 mins. The supervisor kept telling me it was my fault because I told the girl to go ahead and I had to keep explaining myself she told me it was the same and didn’t explain very well I would lose my DVR and everything my family had saved. So after 1hr and a half on the phone I finally had to agree to the $129 package so I could get TiVo to replace my DVR that got deleted by Mediacom. So after all that I once again said it’s the same I have now and the price the supervisor said yes. So after all that we sit down tonight to watch a Starz movie and magically I no longer have Starz unbelievable.

    We now have Comcast in our area and I checked out dish network price and could have got my bill down and the channels I wanted. But I always had good luck with Mediacom so wanted to give them a chance. In the end I had to agree to the supervisor terms and contract otherwise it would have cost me allot to get out of the contract. I also explained to both of them I had a friend who just renewed their Mediacom for $129 with showtime and Starz included she said, "I can’t do that for you." "Why?" I ask. He just had it hook up, he was a current customer and showed me the email.

    Wish they would treat customers the same. Wish things we explained better, wish I would have been warned we were going to lose our DVR and everything we have saved. Lots of things went wrong, yes I did get frustrated but who wouldn’t if you were on the phone for 1&1/2 hours. In the end I wish this could of all been avoided because like I said I always had good luck with Mediacom but this just puts a bad taste in my mouth they wouldn’t work with me on the misunderstanding.

    I have had several issues since I have had this cable as far is cable going out, and phone not having a dial tone. Many techs have had to come out several times to fix this issue but it takes days beyond days. My children cannot finish or do their homework on time.     I have had Mediacom since October of 2015. During the first two years I had no issues with my service. Since my two year commitment ended in October, I have had nothing but issues. I have had technicians out to my house 6-7 times since December. I am on my fourth cable box and continue to have issues with my internet. Sure, the company offers a credit, which is all fine and dandy; certainly more than I would expect. However, I just want it fixed. Fortunately or unfortunately we live in a world in which we need this connectivity. Hence, my review. It's not that the company as a whole is bad, but I feel like once you are no longer considered a new customer to them they don't care.

    Here is an example. On Friday, 03/09/2018, I had a technician at my house, yet again to replace the cable box. He noted, and we discussed, the internet issues which began anew that very day. He thought it was an amplifier issue from the road. I confirmed, as he left, that he would call maintenance to fix this. After 36 hours of no internet I called (as of the writing of this, almost five days of no internet). Frankly, he lied. He did not call maintenance. The gentleman I spoke to on the phone stated he had no record of that.

    Prior to this I was told by another technician that the amplifier was fixed after one of his previous visits in December. Was one, or both, not telling the truth? Can it really be that the amplifier works perfectly for two years and then breaks twice in three months? In summary, if you want to be constantly frustrated and feel like you no longer matter, choose Mediacom. If you want substandard service from an organization, choose Mediacom. If you want technicians to essentially tell you what you want to hear, yet cannot fix the problems, choose Mediacom.

    Everybody always tells me that Mediacom is the best, but I’ve had my ups and downs with them. I’ve had to go one time three weeks before I had my cable and it was Mediacom’s fault. I moved from one trailer to another and the guy who came hooked it up to the other trailer at the pole. And when they cut off that one, they actually cut off mine at the new trailer. Then they said they were going to credit me but I didn’t get my credit. I was also having problems with both my phone and the internet in and out yet I was having to still pay a high bill. For all the trouble I went through, I haven’t seen my credits and all that stuff but I was still getting charged for it. And now I’m behind on my bill a little bit, which I’m trying to catch up. That really upsets me.

    I called in almost a week ago to tell them that my wire has to be buried because I live in a trailer park and a guy comes around mowing. If he chops that wire, I’m going to be charged for it and that’s not going to be right because they still haven’t even gotten back to me about burying it. Other than that, the quality of service is all right and I'm not having any trouble right now.

    I’ve been down in this area, for three and a half years and I only know Mediacom. I knew nothing about the other companies or I knew enough about them that I did not want them. I felt the whole thing with Mediacom went very well. But the price is a little steep for me. My bill is $90 something a month. I will be 92 in June and I Iive alone, and I don’t watch that much TV. When I do watch, everything is on a different plan and raises my bill even though I might watch it once a week.

    My two major things are FOX News and HD TV and occasionally Hallmark. In the fall, I love watching college football. During the Christmas holidays, I watched some of the little movies that once you watch it, you’d watch it 14 times over again with a little bit of change. I know that Mediacom has a specific rate. I feel that what they did isn't fair. I have called at previous times when mine keeps creeping up. I really don’t want to change but it’s almost to the point where it's not affordable. Also, sometimes, the program is skipping the words or sometimes that part of the picture but that’s not often and people have said to me that it’s probably the way that we receive it. I would recommend Mediacom to a friend.

    Everything has been pretty good with Mediacom and I would recommend them. They were the only cable provider in my neighborhood. Their sales team was really nice and helpful with everything I needed. When I started off with them, I only had cable, and then I went back because I wanted Wi-Fi. They had a special going on where I can get the cable, the Wi-Fi and the phone in one set price so I went with that. The installation was pretty cool too. The guy who came out was on time and nice. My wife's at home all day and she’s on the internet. The other day, I had a little problem with the internet and it was with the tablet that I had. I called them and I talked to Jerry from customer service. He helped me figure it out and that went pretty smooth.

    I'm a new customer that switched internet and TV service to Mediacom at the beginning of January. For the most part, I've been disappointed with the internet service which interrupts at least once a week so I can't connect to wifi for about a day at a time and is slow. I've tried to watch Netflix movies as well and 80% of the time I give up because of the poor internet connection.

    When my Mediacom system was installed, the technician only had outdated large receivers, he said it was because at the end of the year, Mediacom runs out of up to date inventory (3 were installed) and they don't receive the channels right away (I have to keep going back and forth on a channel for it to finally load) and takes several attempts and time.

    I was told by the technician that I could bring the old outdated receivers into your Chanhassen location and switch them out when more inventory of the newer and smaller models came in, however, the Chanhassen location is only open during the week and not very late each day. So yes, I am disappointed in my decision to switch to Mediacom. I was a 15+ year customer of my last carriers so I'm not the typical yearly provider change person. Please review my comments and assist me in achieving good service from media com. Thank you.

    Reviewing my Bill showed 2 movies not ordered. Called Mediacom and informed of same. Was informed my following months Bill also had 2 movies ordered. We never order movies AND we were not home when they were ordered! AND they were adult movies which we would NEVER watch, let alone PAY for!! NO ONE else has access to our TV!! 2 movies were credited back to our account but 2 were not. This is WRONG!! I added a PIN, but I know that was NOT the problem. I have no idea how this could happen unless Mediacom staff can somehow access my box remotely. But this must STOP!! I did an online search and this happens to a lot of people, and not just with Mediacom. WHAT is going on!??

    Many years ago, Mediacom was going to be all over the neighborhood to put the service in our location and so, I've had their cable. The quality of their service was mostly very well. I’ve just had problems with some of the equipment, but they did help us a lot. And although some of the people who I talked to over the phone gave me the runaround, the guys who came out here to work on the equipment have been great. Everything seems to be working properly now. I’ve been with Mediacom for a lot of years and hopefully, it’ll be good the rest of the time.

But just being honest, my WiFi is out almost every day, and I have to restart my router about once every 2 or 3 days and many days my WiFi doesn't work at all. It's fine.     I have a current and past due bill you want me to pay, only thing is I have service that is useless. Charged for 60mb and I don't even get 5 mbps. It's so slow I can't use it for reasons I have the service. The phone won't work either and paying for a modem/router WiFi that is garbage.     Every time the temperature drops below freezing the transformer on our pole freezes and has to be reset, and service calls are a normally four days out. We were without service for three weeks this winter including the time period when the college football bowl games were being aired. Each time I try to negotiate a reasonable bill, they continuous increase the bill until it exceeds the original cost, and please do not sell my phone number off to solicitors.

    Mediacom's customer service guy lives in town and I saw his van go by. I thought that I would follow him and when he stops, I would tell him that I needed help. He was very pleasant and accommodating. He said he had a couple of phone calls to make and he'd be over. Sure enough, he came and I was happy about that. He's a really nice young man and is very commendable.

    Having Mediacom has been all good. But, I didn't like that when they have to repair lines, no calls come in from them. They don't let anybody know and so we don't know what's going on. This is bad because when I went to different neighbors, they all had everything they needed and they don't have Mediacom. This kind of teed me off. I thought it was bad because should something come up wherein I have an urgent need, then I'd go somewhere else and make a phone call. Nevertheless, I recommend Mediacom. I've heard other people have had problems with other providers. I always give Mediacom a good name.

    I have always carried Mediacom. They have what I need and I like their services. I had my installation whenever they first started and the installers were very competent and nice. Their reps have treated me very nicely and I've always had very good communications with them, especially when I get angry about the price increase. The only time that I've had a problem with them was when my cable and my phone was out. I had somebody call in for me and I had a service set up. The service guy tried to call in advance to let me know he was coming and he couldn't get through. So, he went around and left but I got him back.

    I love what I have now. I just went to this Xtream and added TiVo and some movie channels. I did away with sports that I don't use and also got the hookup for internet service. I'm in the process of buying a small home computer and I will need that service. I also have my phone service with them. It was a good package for me and it lowered my price.

    WE "Wore out" our current remote control devices. Mediacom called me to upgrade our high speed internet which we did and I asked about replacement devices. In short order the devices arrived here but I cannot "program" them to work on my TV set[s]. The new devices are longer and larger than our current remote control devices. Back then I could go in and pay for the year and get a month free.     I am happy with my internet service. It is fast and reliable. Cable service is also reliable as well. Prices are astronomical. I have called customer service 3 different times over a period of 5 months to get signed up for automated payments. Each time I was told that I was signed up, and that the next month's bill would automatically get paid. Each time I get a late bill notice, a late charge and have to call again to get the late charge removed, and get billing placed on auto payment. The service was installed in August and I am now being told that April's bill will 'definitely' get auto-deducted. Incredibly frustrating!! Absolutely inexcusable, for automated systems not to be able to handle this in one month's time.

    I was behind on my payment, but I did not realize it, I never got your late notice or a disconnection notice, I was just disconnected. They have my phone #, my e-mail, and my address. They could of sent me a notice anywhere! So when I was disconnected, my son called to see what was wrong, and he told me we were disconnected. I called to get restored and they told me I needed to pay my past due bill. OK, expected that, and I needed to pay 29.99 for someone to come out and reconnect it, I did not believe anyone needed to come out, but still ok. Then I was told I would have to pay my next bill COD, and that they were taking away my promo from when I signed on away, so instead of $55.00ish a month, it was going to be $89.00 a month. I told them they could have let me know ahead of time that I was late and was going to get disconnected, they said they don't do that, that I should have gotten something in the mail. But I never did.

    I was shocked that paying my bill up to date, and paying a re-connection fee was not good enough, they had to punish me to the point that we can't have internet. I am a grandmother raising her 3 grandchildren with no help from anyone, and not a huge income. I qualify for the $9.95 a month the school informed me right after I signed on, but did not want to cancel, and wait 3 months for the service, but now I wish I would have. The $55.00 a month was tough for me, and I live where there is not a lot of choice for internet service.So maybe they can do whatever they want to customers, and there is nothing we can do. There is no way I could ever afford what they wanted me to pay.

    Your WiFi is awful in my condo. After 7pm it is impossible, to get on the internet, they have come out many times but it does not stay. Fixed!!! One technical rep.     We have customers for about 40 years. Each year the cable has consistently risen in price. We called about 2 months ago and were told our cable price would be lowered. We even dropped a couple of extra stations we had requested. The last two months it has continued to rise. If there were any competition for Mediacom in our area, we would certainly give them a try! Unfortunately, there is not. So guess we are stuck with Mediacom. Our next step will be to drop the service COMPLETELY.

    I have had Mediacom Cable since October, 2016. Initially, it could not be hooked up due to an issue and the person said he would be out in a day or two. I finally called the toll free number after a week and they sent someone else out who knew what to do to get it all hooked up correctly. Luckily, my internet worked, even though the tv cable did not, as I work out of my home. The rates increase nearly every month, which is frustrating.

    The main cable box in my living room is working fine. There are 2 cable boxes in upstairs bedrooms that are not working.     I would like to say that Mediacom internet is very unstable and isn't very reliable. We stream a lot of things as well as have multiple smart devices that depend on the internet. Our internet easily is offline more often than not daily. I have called, complained, gotten credits, devices changed, new lines ran, etc. But, still this didn't fix the problem. I would say the only reason I keep Mediacom is because of the tv service.

    It has not met my expectations at all. When it rains or the wind blows strongly my cable cuts in and out. One reason I went with Mediacom was so that wouldn’t be a problem. Also my WiFi does not work part of the time so I have to use my hotspot. There has been someone out here to fix things 4 times but it is still the same. Also WiFi is real slow and I took out middle package. If my bill keeps going up I will be looking into other plans.

    I have recently upgraded to a higher speed internet. For the most part, it works as it should. Occasionally, for no apparent reason, the internet is gone. It can last 30 seconds to 5 minutes. It happens a random times. If you call customer service to schedule a tech to come to my house, the soonest they can come is 7 to 10 days. Mediacom either doesn't have enough techs, or they have many issue to deal with.

    I have been with Mediacom for several years now and it is only due to the lack of somewhere else to go for internet speeds we need for this business. The service I got from Centurylink was good but they don't have the internet speed we need. The service with Mediacom is lackluster at best with consistent slowdowns and blinking of service and the cost is ridiculous for what you are getting, they just went up again.     Since I've upgraded to Mediacom's Gigabit internet service I'm not able to operate on my business VPN network. I've had my IT department troubleshoot the problem and the signal is inconsistent and unstable. I'm also consulting with an independent IT network specialist to really diagnose the issue so I have something I can use as evidence to fight with because frankly I don't know what else to do. Speeds are up and down and this creates security issues with the programs I need to access via the VPN network. I've been forced to operate out of coffee shops; restaurants and even other businesses I work with. Mediacom has been out many times and cannot resolve the problem. The real issue in my opinion is there isn't any competition in lower Delaware so Mediacom has no need to care; and they don't.

    Where I live, I have a lot of trees surrounding the house. I had DISH satellite before but nobody else in the area could get reception. I had a very spotty TV or no TV, especially in the summer. I had to drop them and go with Mediacom. The price is kinda high but I can't do anything about that. Also, there were times when the TV doesn't have a picture or sound to it and I have to push the button to get the sound or after I flip to a different channel. But I guess that's just common with Mediacom.

    I was with DISH for a year and I got tired of their high prices. We were paying 200 something dollars a month so I had to get away from them as soon as my contract was up. I moved over to Mediacom in March and my experience with their sales team was awesome. It went really quick and fast, and they just said my box will be arriving. The technician was also awesome. He said he had to do a lot of rewiring which he didn’t mind that he had to do. He took his time and got us up and running. But he also told me to call him if I’m having issue with the wireless and I said that I’ll call the main office because they might send somebody else and not send him back.

    We have a cable on all three TVs with TiVo and Mediacom gave us the phone. We also have the wireless internet but it's not doing the best right now. When I called last time, we had figured something else on it. I went with another wireless name that they did, but that one failed and shut down so I’m back to the same haywire wireless. Other than that, everything else is awesome. When I’m home and not on the road, I’m always gaming. I also watch all my prerecorded shows that I didn’t get to see since I was on the road so much. So I use the Mediacom services for personal and family time. And I will recommend Mediacom. It hits the spot and much faster than what DISH had for me up and running.

    This is by far the worst company I have ever experienced. They never call you back. Never fix the issues you have with internet or cable. They schedule a tech out but does nothing and says they have to have a 3rd party come to fix the issue. They also state they will have their manager call me back. "Never did". I still have a cable NOT buried in my front yard for almost 2 months and when I call they tell me they cannot do anything about it till April because the ground is frozen. Mind you it is March 3rd and we just had baseball practice today... If there was ANY other company in the area that provided service I would have already switched. Save your money and time. This company doesn't care about your services just as long as they get your money every month!

    I had Mediacom a while back before I lost my job and when I went on the disability I was out of cable for about five years. I just went back and when I cashed my severance pay I paid it in full so I had it put back up. But sometimes I get disappointed in the service. The technician couldn't hook my cable up and get the channels to come in the first time. I had to call the office and order a box and that meant that he had to come back out. I was disappointed in that because I had to pay him double to come back out.

    Also I don't get the channels that I wanted to get. They have too much other stuff on there that I really don't look at. I don't look at most of the channels that I got because I like down-to-earth pictures. I don't like The Real Housewives of Atlanta, a lot of drama and stuff like that. If that wasn't even on the TV I wouldn't even miss because I don't like all that profanity and stuff. So most of the channels I disagree with on the TV.

    I have been thinking about changing over to somebody else or DirecTV because sometimes the channels go out and they don't get them back in until about a couple of days later. I asked one of their representatives because they had put a late charge on my fee and I called and asked them why because I was out of town for three to four days. She said they didn't know, but I'm sure and everybody around here, the channels was out. But as an older person, you get screwed for not reporting stuff.

    But she worked with me and I thank God for that because now that I get disability my money don't come in until on the fourth Wednesday. Sometimes I was mailing my payments in. If I just had where to check over the phone or whatever or I go down there to the office to keep from having them to put a late fee on my thing. My thing is they get in new customers and I'm thinking we're paying the fee for the money that don't get out the new customer until that deadline is over and then they charged them a regular price. But I don't think it's fair for people like on fixed income. They keep going up and again we're not satisfied with the channels.

    Your customer service is so poor, and your service is worse. I’ve been without internet service for almost 7 weeks. 4 service tech visits, no resolution, 5th & 6th techs scheduled today. Nope you call and say that the tech and time specifically scheduled to fix my issues aren’t working today and thus no one will come. Plus to leave your service I have to buy the security equipment at 350% of retail price even though it was replaced due to it not working and is now mismatched to my home. This is terrible, even after price increasing me by 30% when all this is going on, I wish I had listen to other people who told me not to use your service. I was told that we can get a tech out next week but only during the day so more time off of work. Plus I can’t reduce service and save any money.

    This message is going on any social media page I can find. I am tired of hearing nothing but, "We apologize and value your business," because you don’t value my business at all. The worst part is I actually like the service but it doesn’t work, I get 1/3 of the services I pay for, and if the home controller doesn’t work without Mediacom internet, but has a 3g backup why can’t I use another internet service provider?

    I "upgraded" from a Pace Mediacom TiVo cable box in December of this year. Having seen all the latest hoopla about the service on ads on TV, I just had to have the latest and greatest. Boy did I get a bunch of crap with Xtream. The new Xtream box has only one HDMI output on the box and an audio optic output to my stereo home entertainment receiver. The output only works on one tv and not my dvd recorder. When I try to split the HDMI line from the box with a splitter with one HDMI input to 1 HDMI output and an RCA Video and L/R Audio, the signal to the TV is killed. I had no problem with the Pace TiVo box before. It had great output to the TV and the dvd recorder via rca outputs for video, L/R audio.

    When I called and talked to a representative, he told me that it was illegal to put anything on disc. At least this guy could speak English. He was Tech Support for what he was worth. The xtream box I have now is worthless for what I want it for. I told the representative that I was not a thief and I was not selling DVDs. I am 78 years old. I have been recording shows off my cable for the last 40 years, first to tapes with VCRs, then to DVDs. When I asked if they made an amplifier that I could buy from Mediacom to soup up the HDMI signal where the xtream output would power more than just a single TV, he said no. When I asked if I could put a large external HD on the Xtream box, He said no.

    This is unacceptable to me. If I can't even record over the air programs from networks without commercials taking them out as I watch them, then what the heck is the use of having Xtream or cable, when I could use Dish and do whatever I want? At 78 years old, I don't use apps so you don't need to include this in my answer. I should have known something was amiss when the installer asked me if "I was sure I wanted this"? I was a fool just like a person who wanted to take a shower in Poland after getting off the train 75 years ago. I hate to go through all the getting the snow off the dish in a big snow but I will just so I can get what I want.

    Updated on 03/12/2018: I got a response from Phil ** at Mediacom on email. It was a canned response and a friendly reminder to use their mobile wireless APP to pay my bill, etc. I am on autopay and am an old man that can't stand smartphones or apps. Just want my TV back to like it was. I then received a phone call Thursday from his replacement while he was out for the rest of the week. He said he could help me with resolving the issue, and said he would call me back on the phone Friday for a resolution to the complaint. Never heard back from him. Never heard back today, Monday either.

    All I need is another box with an HDMI out for my TV and an RCA video output, plus L/R audio outputs for my DVD recorder (DVDs with shows recorded on them without the commercials.) These are for my own use and not made for sale to anyone. Seems as if they actually want people to switch to DISH network. They have got a half dozen outputs on their Hoppers and good strong signals out of them for whatever you want to hook them to.

    Mediacom has the fastest internet around here. The first person from the sales team that I talked to was really nice and helpful. The second person was nice enough to deal with, but he did not want to give me the same package that the first person did. And so, then, I had to go through a whole another route and get that taken care of with someone else. In fact, I still do not have that package, and I'm going to be overcharged and then I'm going to have to throw a fit. Their communication skill needs to be better. But, all and all, he really was thoroughly nice. The installation was also good. The guy who did it was super nice, and he seemed knowledgeable and helpful. The service that I got has been pretty okay. With Mediacom, we watch quite a bit of TV, and we use the internet all the time and also the phone. It's there because it is part of the package deal.

    I live in an area where there was no other option but Mediacom as the cable system and the other is just satellite. They came and connected the service but nowadays, people are allowed to do it themselves. Mediacom's trying to get all these computerized as part of their future plans so that they wouldn't have to send people out. The latest time I had them come was to make switches. I have Sony TVs and they could give me the code but they were saying that it was a big hassle and couldn't do it because the cable was in the other TV. So they sent somebody out who was excellent. He was smart and knew what to do. But I hope they got that worked out because they kept telling me to call my TV company. The TV company then laughed at me and told me that it was my cable company's problem. So that wasn’t very good.

    We have the cable on probably every day. Sometimes there's interference with the service then sometimes they send that stuff for a while, but usually get it fixed. Mediacom did the best that they could do but I'm not really happy with what they offered. I just wanted basic and expanded cable and didn't want a phone service and anything else 'cause I wouldn’t use them since I don’t have a computer and internet. But they changed my package and kept raising the price. I couldn't keep going up so the rep tried to find the package that would somehow fit the price. But then, I got the bill and it wasn't what I expected. We've been a long time customer and they could always find us a way to keep it not that high. I know other people that have gone to other things because they couldn't pay that much. I don’t want to do that, but if I have to, I would. I'm a little dissatisfied, but hopefully, I'd get more satisfied if I talk to them and figure out what this is or change it.

    My father in law had an account with Mediacom. He passed away in Oct 2017. I informed Mediacom that he had passed away. I paid his outstanding balance, then they sent him another bill. I called once again and sent a letter and his converter boxes back. I did not hear anything from them. This was the 1st of January. Then today March 1st, 2018 he gets a bill from a collection agency.

    I call Mediacom and speak to a Representative and he says I have to call the collection agency. I then ask to speak to his Supervisor and he tells me that he sees where I called and spoke to 2 people and told them he had passed away, but then he says it is out of their hands. I have to call the collection agency. I call the collection agency. The gentleman says he will note that he has passed away, I asked him if that is all I need to do. All he said was I will Note the account. The collection agency name is Credit Protection Association L.P. I am hoping this has been taken care of. Mediacom should have taken care of this when I originally called. Bad customer service.

    On Demand - Extremely poor management for many years. Constantly leaving out episodes in series. I.e. currently: Counterpart has available to view Season 1: Episodes 1,2,3,4,6. No number 5 - stupid. As far back as Deadwood, no episode 16. I've complained for years. This has happened at least a dozen times since I've had Mediacom, for multiple shows. Mediacom customer service refuses to give me contact information for On Demand. You should be more involved in your customer's complaints and relay message to On Demand or step in and rectify situation. On Demand is part of YOUR service to customers for which we are paying; and it is underperforming.

    Mediacom was the only cable company that worked. My wife didn't like any chances of interruption of service, so we switched over to them. It had never been that high. The rep I talked to felt really friendly and good. She was trying to help us out. When we went out there to pay, she told us to pay 122 or something. And then when we got out there the lady told my husband he had to pay 124. But it was good. You will have to pay for what you get anyway.

    Mediacom's quality of service and their sales team are all right. I have had them for the cable for a year already. I am by myself a lot, and I watch TV. When family comes by, we sometimes watch games. too. I had a problem with a wire on the outside about a couple of week ago, and they came and fixed everything. The tech was fine. The quality of service I get from Mediacom is all right. However, Mediacom started going up. I’m paying more than I ever paid -- I’m paying more than $15 a month now. Nevertheless, I'm very satisfied and happy with it. Go get it.

    I'm a long time Mediacom customer and generally satisfied with their service but their construction section is a horror story. The last snow storm in my area resulted in a line that crosses my property being taken down by a falling tree. The bucket truck crew effected a quick repair but left the temporary cable lying on the ground. Six weeks later the cable is still on the ground and I'm told that it may be "months" before it is repaired as Mediacom has elected to bid out the replacement of 200 feet of cable to a subcontractor.

    Updated on 02/24/2018: Received the typical canned response with a promise in a private message for follow up followed by the also typical thundering silence. Oh yeah... Don't forget to download the mostly useless Mediacom phone app as it is the apparent solution to everything.

    I believe the issue may finally be resolved. The team that was sent to my house this time was fantastic and very thorough. That being said I am still unimpressed with the amount of effort, time, and the lengths I had to go to to get this issue resolved. Hopefully it lasts more than 48-72 hours this time.

    A copy of the email I sent to the email I sent to my state's department of commerce. Also the only reason they received two stars from me is that their download speeds have been fairly consistent. I also had more logs of my poor upload speed performance but I reached the maximum amount of files allowed. I saw that you were investigating Frontier for problems and their lack of addressing these issues and I was hoping you would look into Mediacom for the same thing. If you go on their Facebook page you can see a lot of people having problems with their services that are not being properly addressed. They continually do things like resetting your router or sending a technician out repeatedly who will only tell you the problem is on their end and they can't do anything for you and then Mediacom in turn will tell you the technician never reported it when he called right in front of me last time to prove to me that he did.

    I am not the only customer with the issue I have seen and it's across a number of states. I have logs of my speeds since before Christmas and I am not getting the speeds I am paying for and Mediacom is doing nothing to correct the issue other than the same cycle that I previously described while the main issue is never actually resolved. I could see this only being a small issue if it was limited to just myself or a small area but if you look at the guest comments on their Facebook page you will see that it is a very widespread issue with many customers effected with the same responses from Mediacom. Thank you for your time and I sincerely hope that you are able to take the time to look into this issue as there are many customers who are paying for a service that they are not fully receiving.

    With the people I was with before, the telephone would go off and I got tired tinkering with it so I switched to Mediacom. They send me a bill, I write a check and give it to them even though I think it’s too much money. It costs me about $157 every month for the TV and telephone. Somebody called here a while back. They said that they split the telephone and Mediacom into two different companies. They wanted to switch it because it'll cost me less for the telephone. They said that it'll only cost like $25 for my telephone and it would be less than what I'd pay a month too. I'd still get my TV, but it would cost me a lot less. I did it and I’ve saved three bucks.

    I’m on social security and that makes it kind of rough to get to spend $150 for a TV that isn’t worth to them. I have a TV routine but during the week, there is nothing to watch and it’s just a bunch of noise. Why should I pay a hundred some dollars a month for nothing? I am very dissatisfied because they are nothing to watch. I know it isn’t their fault. They just put the service through but they can put some guys on there that plays the guitar. I’m an old country music man. If they play country music all day long, I’d have that TV on.

    I've had MEDIACOM INTERNET for over 10 years, loved it and hated it over that time. I've been depending on the service because my medical equipment sends messages to my doctor. I'm on disability for a while and money is hard to come by especially on disability. Well I did miss a few payments like I have in the past and always brought it to good standing and I appreciate Mediacom for this, well it happen again but only missed 1 payment and they disconnected me just 1 day ago, I paid today and have to pay not only what I missed which I did but also a disconnect fee of $157.00 dollars. Well I'm not paying that so over 10 years of their service I'm changing to their competitor. Hate to leave them but oh well all they worry about is their income and NOT the customer.

    I was getting overcharged for what I had so I switched to Mediacom. We have TV, internet and phone service with them. Their reps were very, very helpful and the installation was really good. Their service has been good, so far. I just had one little issue when our cable went out last Thursday for a couple of hours, but I think that was more because of weather in the area. Other than that, the service has been fine. We use their TV service for entertainment for the most part. I have a one-year-old who loves the Disney channel and he likes to watch. When he has certain shows that come on, he gets really excited. Mediacom has more options as far as channels that my husband liked and the other kids, as opposed to what we had before. Overall, our experience has been good. I would definitely recommend them to others.

    My husband and I didn't want to have an antenna on top of our house and if we get Mediacom, we wouldn't need one so we got their TV service. So far, I've been happy with it. Recently, I have called them because someone was here and didn't close the box. The reps were good and came very promptly. I had them take care of it before the storm came. I also had a little period when the TV was always off around 5 o'clock. But that was just for a little while and they got that corrected. However, it would be nice if we could choose the channels that we want and not pay an enormous amount of money for it.

    When I lived with my parents, my brother had Mediacom. Then, when I had my first place in '94, I had Mediacom there. And when I put this place here in '98, I also got them. I like that I only need one cable from the pole to my house to the back of the TV. No box or equipment needed. It's very cool and simple. I also like that I very seldom lose signal. I've talked to people that have a dish and I don't want to be disrespectful to any other company, but their service has been interrupted due to weather related things. So, Mediacom has been good and I've been real happy with them.

    They've suggested internet and we had the Wi-Fi when my daughter lived with me. That was really good and I liked that, too. Their reps have been excellent as well and the greatest thing is when I call them, they have a live operator and that keeps me coming back. They recently added a few channels to my line-up, like the Grit Channel and the This. I like those westerns and older movies on there. I know they have promotions occasionally but I wish there was any type of customer longevity discount.

    Well first of all I don't know why my bill is so high every month. I've been a customer over a year. I've had some financial issues this year. I'm on layoff. My bank returned a payment. I was short 5 dollars from a 270.00 payment I made. I get shut off. I tried calling to make arrangements. Now the lady I talked to was rude saying they don't do arrangements on returned payments. I think that's a total BS, some people have financial issues in life and I've been there way over a year or two and no one can offer me anything. I'll just go to CenturyLink for internet then.

    I have been with Mediacom for 30 years and recently, I called because my phone bill kept going up. I didn't want to leave Mediacom so I called to ask if I qualified for any of this new simplified advertisement that they have on TV. Their rep was very helpful and very nice. She upgraded my service and my bill will not be as high. However, I had a problem with my phone after they put the new modem. My phone got very staticky, so I called them and they came out, checked it over and they said that their equipment was fine. My only complaint was that I was told that I would have to get an electrician and they would have to go into the walls in my house and check other phone lines.

    However, there has never been any other phone line in this house. My grandson is an electrician so I called him and he came over, went down and checked. One of the wires was loose and he snipped that off, hooked it back on there, screwed it back on and he put a rubber tip over the end of the wiring and the phone has been fine since. I understand that these technicians have a lot of work to do and they are in a hurry, but if they would just slow down a little bit they could avoid some of this confusion. I’m not blaming the kid who was here though. He was very polite and very nice. He checked it and it was back in the corner of my basement and he couldn’t see it even with the flashlight but I’m not complaining about that.

    I have always been satisfied with Mediacom and we’ve always stuck with them through thick and thin. I was given the STARZ station for free for so long but I will not keep it because I watch Turner Classic most of the time anyway. But, I appreciate the offer. I have recommended Mediacom to people because I've never been dissatisfied. They always ask me what service I have and I've told them that we've always stayed with Mediacom.

    I have contacted Mediacom's customer service/tech support 6 times in the last 3 weeks. There have been multiple issues with my cable and internet. Every time I call, I always get the same excuse, "there is an outage in your area". Well my opinion on that is customer service is a bunch of LIARS. Besides that, I can't get internet in any other room in my house besides the living room where my box is at. If I go anywhere else, I lose service. When I had a tech look at it, they told me that the person who originally hooked up my cable and internet did it wrong. How is this my problem? With my cable: First time a tech came out was because every channel kept freezing on me for 20+ minutes at a time. A tech came out, it worked for a day and then started having the same issue.

    I called Mediacom again, and of course after waiting on the phone for 20 minutes just to talk to someone, as soon as I got through, they asked for my name and number (said they had to verify just in case the calls gets disconnected). Well guess what, the call got disconnected, and they never called me back. I called again, waiting another 20+ minutes to get through to someone. They told me that they would issue a credit to my account (of $4) and it would be almost a week before someone could get to my house. The tech came to my house, fixed the issue and changed out the cable box. This resolved the issue for the freezing. However now, I don't have DVR. I called tech support last night, told them I don't have DVR and read them the error message. They told me that because of all the issues they would escalate it and have ANOTHER tech come to my house this Saturday.

    I received a call tonight from a tech, he troubleshooted the issue and fixed it. Within 1 hour, the message was popping up on my TV (without me trying to even use DVR). I called tech support again, demanding a supervisor this time. After the rep told me that there was not one available and me waiting on hold for over 30 minutes just to speak with a supervisor, they told me that the issue never got escalated yesterday and my appointment for this Saturday was canceled by the tech that called me. So of course, I am now on the list to have a tech come out AGAIN (third time in 3 weeks), but it won't for 9 more days. The response that I got from the supervisor is that "it must not have been hooked up correctly".

    I am so sick of the reps blaming the techs for everything. If the techs were trained properly, this wouldn't be an issue. If I am having this many issues with multiple techs, services, reps, and supervisors. There is a HUGE issue! I have asked reps and the supervisor for the phone number to Corporate, and they tell me that they don't have a phone number. I call **! They tell me to go online and submit a form and corporate will call me back. The form actually goes to the reps and the number the reps tell you to call is the customer service phone number, not corporate. If the corporate office won't talk to the people that use their service, what does that say about them. There is absolutely no excuse for the crappy service I have received from this company. 6 phone calls and 3 techs at my house, in 3 weeks is ridiculous!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO USE MEDIACOM'S CABLE OR INTERNET.

    When my girlfriend and I moved into our new house we found out that the only cable provider in the area was Mediacom. We went with Mediacom. Everything was good. The tech came out. Installed the service. Also showed us how to use everything. We enjoyed it. Then a week into us having service we get a call from Mediacom telling us, "Sorry your payment did not clear the bank." We was like, "Wow. What's going on?" So we called the bank and found out that we had some fraud on the acct. We called Mediacom and told them what was going on. The rep we spoke to was like rude and said, "Sorry we have a disconnect for today" and basically, "There was nothing we could do."

    So a few months pass we get the bank account taken care of. Then we call Mediacom and try to get the service back and we are told, "Sorry". We have to pay full price and no discounts and have to pay a reconnect fee. How is this fair? We told you what happened and did what had to be done. And we get screwed. Well now that I paid the full price of the month plus reconnect I am going to keep this service for the month then switch to DISH or DirecTV and will not tell anyone about Mediacom service. Will not recommend them at all. I think it is unfair how I was treated and for the rudeness of the customer service reps.

    I was late on my bill after being a customer for over 10 years. Once I realized my internet was shut off I promptly paid my bill over the phone the same day. Later I still did not have service. I called them back and was told it was cut off at the pole and it would take 2 days to get service back without a having to pay reconnection fee. Now I found out they are charging me the fee and still do not know when they will be back to hook it up. I am now looking at a local internet service provider. Stay away from Mediacom because they will tell you one thing and do the other.

    Mediacom is a prime example of a company having too much power! In the middle of nowhere MN we have very few choices for Internet. I had issues with our local internet company with speed etc., so I researched another option. Mediacom buys a ton of advertising in my area claiming the best and fastest internet. When going to purchase their service the internet was so expensive that it only made sense to get the TV and Phone bundle with it which I never needed. So now I am paying $135 a month for TV that barely gets watched, a phone that never gets used and worse internet service than I had with my local 1300 person town's internet.

    When it got installed the tech stayed. For the internet to work properly we will need to get 2-3 range extenders (not explained or suggested during their commercials that claim the BEST internet) and that he needs to set up another visit to run some lines to the house. We waited weeks for this to happen all while having bad service. After the lines were run we have had zero change and maybe worse. I can be in the same room as the box and my WIFI will cut out. I chatted today 2/6/18 with customer service and after typing pretty much my complaint here their suggestion was to give me a link to Walmart to buy extenders.

    Needless to say I am HIGHLY disappointed in Mediacom and their employees and customer service skills. I have worked for 30 years in customer service. I have lost a ton of money just to keep my name and reputation clean. I maybe could have accepted the customer service rep to tell me their policies and then ask management how she could help me, but instead my very FIRST response was to tell me to go buy extenders with a link to Walmart (Another stellar company! Not surprising they suggest them). Paying $135 for internet or any needed service is gouging! I would bet their profit and loss would show proof of their price gouging just because they can get away with it. I did not file a complaint as I know that Mediacom will not care! They are big enough to be bullies and tow the fine line of moral and legal ethics! I STRONGLY suggest never doing business with MEDIACOM!!!

    I've been with Mediacom since around 2001. I have their phone and TV services. Cedar Rapids is where their main office is for around here and so far, I've had pretty good luck with them. About a month ago, their modem went bad and they had to replace it. Their tech was friendly and he seemed to know what he was doing.     My opinion is that never choose Mediacom if you have other options in the city you live in. At the service setup, they never give a specific time that the technician would come. They will give a range of times, for instance, between 8 AM to 12 PM. Thus, making you cancel your plan for that specific day and stay home waiting for the technician. In my last service request, I stayed home waiting for the technician expecting him/her to call within the range of time that they gave (8am-12pm), but no call and no show up. The technician called at 1:02 and again at 1:04 and my phone was away. Then no call again and no anything! So frustrating!

    Also, sometimes the billing isn't accurate or clearly detailed! I remember once they have posted an amount that extremely exceeds the bill I was supposed to pay. So, after calling the company, the collection agent apologized and removed it. It is also very often to have the old (previous) bill still show in my online account, making it very confusing to understand.

    Mediacom's price with the bundling was better than other companies. Moreover, our experience with their salespeople was really good. We have the Wi-Fi and the phone. The installation was uncomplicated. We had a lot of problems with the phone and the internet going out but they finally found out what was causing it and got that fixed. I’ve received fine service.

    I like Mediacom’s next business day service and their sales process was okay but the implementation process has been terrible. The system has not been installed yet. I’ve been waiting for about three weeks and I still haven’t heard anything. I have had lots of experience with Medicom and the scheduling in getting to the install date was always tough. Once the installer was here though, it went very swift and very good. So the technical people were typically good. But the back-end accounting and communication was not. They have poor communication for being a communications company but technically they have a good product, and the services are good once done. But they could do a lot better.

    I have been using Mediacom cable TV for years. The salespeople were pretty decent and the installation was good. I watch TV every day and the quality of the service is good. On the other hand, the service goes off the air once in a while. It will go off for about 10 minutes, then it will come back on. If it starts happening, it will be off all day long for around four days, then it would be good. In addition, the price went up recently from $97 to $100 and I can't understand why it cost that much. Mediacom needs to lower their price.

    Mediacom was furnished where we moved to and it is included in our rent. There are 27 apartments here and they all have Mediacom. We really couldn’t do much else because they wouldn't allow putting a dish on the roof. We’ve had the Mediacom team here a few times when I've told them they had to do some work. I have one guy who comes here and he knows what’s going on and is on top of it right away. We got cable and the quality of the service is good. We use most of it for family time and watch what we want to. We get a lot of channels with Mediacom so I’d recommend it.

    I’ve been with Mediacom for a long time and I have telephone service with them. My experience has been good whenever I speak with their team. I didn’t have trouble before, but it seems like something went kaput. My telephone needs fixing because people can’t leave messages on it. I used to always have a lot of messages on there, but I don't have anything now and it has been a couple of months. There was a gal I had talked to but she couldn’t get it fixed. Other than that, they’ve tried to help me with stuff and I’ve been satisfied so far.

    I lived Rural and had Frontier. Ok, it works if that is all you can get. So I moved into town and Mediacom was available so I got it instead. Frontier could only offer me 15 megs of down which you get about 2 megs max. WIth Mediacom when it works it is fast. I had a lot of issues and in the first 12 months of service, I had 10 new routers. These routers are junk. I can not access my router at all like the old days. Now you have to use a Mediacom control panel via their website and 99% of the time, their website cannot communicate with the router so you can not change passwords, forward ports or nothing. I called in and got a Japanese lady I think (nothing wrong with that except she could barely speak broken English) and she had no clue what to do to help. So she had me go to Mediacom's control panel and actually had me log in using another customer's login and password! HOLY SMOKES!!! I quickly told her and she was oh no!!!

    Needless to say a Mediacom repair guy came out as cool as could be and told me while he was here to fix my TV to get rid of the router and buy my own router/modem and because Mediacom is junk. Lol Nice. So I called and told them I wanted to take their router off rental and give it back and I'll buy my own and to please send someone out to hook up an external MoCA for my TiVo to work. The man actually told me no on the phone. He said I was not forced to use their equipment and to buy my own. I was like but I need MoCA for TiVo and he said the repairman was a liar. External MoCA is no longer available. So in short, I am forced to rent their equipment.

    Mediacom, all I want to do is access my router from my own house. Your method sucks really bad. I am an IT graduate and can tell you more about this stuff than your techs can. THere is no need to make me log in to your website to control my router/modem. Please explain to me why a repair man said he hooks up external MoCAs for people yet I was told he is a liar and they are no longer available? As far as service goes, I had all brand new cable installed from down the street to my corner pole, from that pole to my house. Thanks to a hungry squirrel, all cable under my house is brand new as well as all 2 splitters they installed. 10 brand new routers, You blamed my devices for being infected so I formatted everything and started fresh and here we sit still.

    I give you 3 stars because it works when it works and is fast when it works and you are 100% better than Frontier will ever be. P.S. On a side note, for the last week, all Wi-Fi in my house has been on and off. I literally watched my router turn itself off and back on 3 times today. The speed is fast as all get out, but is very unreliable. P.P.S. So in short, if you need access to your home network, do NOT count on a Mediacom modem/Router for those needs. If you continue to call over and over to have them do stuff for you, they will consider you a trouble customer and drop you. Yep! I was warned by a tech who came to my house last time that I was real close to a 5 day warning to be dropped. WTF!

    I like that Mediacom is local and up to last week, I was satisfied with the service and the charges that Mediacom was offering. However, they raised the rates. I don’t own a computer, so I can’t take advantage of when they’re giving these 50% off things. As a matter of fact, I just got another offer today. I also am a retired telephone person so I have a concession rate with the telephone company. As a loyal customer, I’ve had service since 1980 and then Mediacom bought that company out in ’89. I also have low vision and so, in order to even read materials, I have a visual aid machine for that. When they raised my rate, I’m already having problems even watching television.

    I called after the rate increase came on to see if there was a something right now for the loyal customer, but there isn’t. The young man I talked to gave me about a 10% discount so I went back through again and got someone different. One of them was in Red Oak, Iowa and another was in Columbus. But neither one of them could help me and they couldn’t come up with that rate either so I gave it up. Also, I wish that they could notify me of customer loyalty discounts instead of me having to call and say, “Have you got anything right now?”

    When you’re on a fixed income, it doesn’t help matters when they keep raising the rate of things. But I’ll continue this thing with Mediacom. If we lose the cable for any given length of time, I just call and they always give me a credit for the amount of time that we were out of service. We have a service center right here in Knoxville so, it’s always nice to see the trucks going by and know that if something comes up, it’s not very long before they’d be here to find out the problem.

    I’ve been with Mediacom for a long time. When I have a request or anything or want to change anything the sales reps are always willing to take care of it for me. It’s too expensive but other than that it’s alright. We have the basic service and then we have the family, just the first two items, sports and information channel. The bill is around a $178 a month. To me that’s absolutely absurd with the channels on the TV. There are other places out there advertising $50 a month for 190 channels. It’s competitive but I don’t want dishes and stuff in my house so that’s why I keep it because the wires come in and you don’t have to have junk all over the roof of your house.

    The service is fine and the TV is great. The channels that we ordered and we have are good. We enjoy watching them. They have these 9.2 and 9.3 channels that they’ve had for the last couple of years which show old shows and old programs from years ago. They’ve messed us up because they got some stuff on there you can’t even watch. We like to watch a lot of basketball and football and so we got those. We get a lot of basketball games that we’ve been watching on the ESPN stations.

    I’ve had Mediacom off and on for almost 20 years. During installation the installers were going to rewire everything and I didn’t want to go that far to do anything. They ended up hooking me up to where I was and put a new coaxial and it works best. The internet service has been pretty good. I had some trouble with the modem thing and the Wi-Fi but it turned out the cable outside was old which they replaced and then it works fine.

    I have been with Mediacom for years and had nothing but issues with them. Starting with the cable DVR. It didn't record everything or certain shows when programmed. Internet is slow even at the top speed bundle. Which they say you get 100mbps which is false, come to find out that you share signals with others which can slow yours down. Which is crap if you pay for something you should get what you pay for not half or quarter. Streaming bad even hardlined which really drives me crazy. Last customer service stinks they don't communicate with their tech so had many mix ups. They seem to care at the beginning but soon they just stop giving a rip about their customers. These people lie and care less if your happy about their services avoid if possible.

    Honestly the fastest internet available in my area... When it works. Every month the internet starts to cut out, slow down, and cut off entirely. I call their service which results in either "We'll send a tech in 2 weeks to fix the issue" or "Have you tried turning your modem off and back on again". The tech swapped our modem once, fixed the issue for all of 1 week before it started again. I'm under the impression that I should be getting my 200Mbps that I'm paying for, but instead I'm getting 8.1Mbps. (Image attached) I would switch off Mediacom if we had another high speed service provider in our area, but therein lies the issue. Either I pay 181$/month for this internet and cable, OR 400$/month for internet alone from one of the smaller providers. I'm give a 2 star rating because the only time we had an issue with the cable is when a hurricane hit.

    I’ve had Mediacom since ’99 and I have the phone, internet and cable with them. When I went with TiVo, I spoke with a lady who was really good to work with. I went and talked to her about my bills. I said that they kept getting higher while all the benefits that they offered were for new customers. We didn’t see many things for long-time customers. She took my information and went above and beyond. She didn’t do it instantly while I was standing there, but she went and looked for different stuff, so I was happy with that. Then she got back to me and worked with me to lower my bill.

    I have never had such horrible tech service, between them not actually calling and getting an appointment scheduled this has been a nightmare, after wasting 6+ hrs since the time slot windows are 3 hrs time frames we still have no internet and yet another appointment we may or may not get a call to confirm we are home for! We normally have no issues with Mediacom and have been happy customers for a couple of years. Now it saddens me that it is not an issue to them (even when it is their mistake) that they do not try harder to resolve the issue.

    We have had Mediacom cable for 4 months and had no trouble until a week ago. Our phone service is splotchy and callers sometimes cannot hear us. Our wi-fi took a nose dive, and the internet is not reliable. Our service appt. took a week even though I told them I work from home. On service day I received a call from a "Private name-Private number" but they couldn't hear me (poor phone quality on the landline provided by Mediacom). Suspecting it was our tech calling, I called Mediacom only to find out the appt. had been cancelled because "no one was home"! My 10-10:30 am appointment was now an 8 am - 8 pm appt. The call center did nothing for me. Awful, awful service!

    I’ve had Mediacom for so many years. The last time I talked to anybody there was when we had an outage earlier this winter and the reps were very good then. I’m usually satisfied with the service. But when I call, it usually takes five to ten minutes to get through. When I'm waiting on the phone listening to the same recorded spiel over and over, five minutes is a long time. They could stop offering me those things because I’m not going to switch from my Mediacom service.

    I like having Mediacom for my television and a bundle with Sensory Link for my phone and computer because when one service goes out, I can do something else on the other one. If the computer goes out, I can still watch TV or call somebody. Sometimes the On Demand channel doesn’t work when I want it to and I don’t like that I have to wait so long to get somebody to come. If Mediacom wants to improve, they should get somebody in the house sooner when I have a problem. Being without a TV for four or five days is a burden and it drives me crazy.

    There have been a few issues with Mediacom but my wife got them all cleared it up yesterday with a representative. Their installer was extremely nice and very mannerly but he forgot two or three things. He was new on the job and I realized, as someone who ran a business for 49 years, that it takes a little time to get settled in. In terms of the quality of service we receive, the internet stops a lot. We have tablets and my wife has her phone, and we play games on them all the time. We also watch our TV shows. Sometimes the internet comes back but sometimes, it takes time and it gets a little frustrating. We're on the tablets every day and it happens on those quite frequently but with the TV, it's just now and then.

    I would like itemized billing. It concerns me when I sign up for $70/month and get a bill for $150 with no explanation! Did we go over a limit? Was there a fee? I HAVE NO IDEA!!! So frustrating! On top of my $150 internet bill, it constantly shuts off, and lags like crazy! Maybe it’s a bad modem, that I believe I rent from you, for what, like $10 a month?     I've been a Mediacom customer for 30 years now and I'm not happy with their service anymore. I've got the expanded basic package, which costs me close to $100, and the shows are horrible. I can’t pick what I want to see a la carte. It only has two movie channels, 765 and AMC. It’s the same old stuff over and over. There’s no variety. I’d love to see St. Louis and Kansas City news channels, but I don’t get that, or different places that have movies. I can’t do it unless I buy a package like HBO. And that’s expensive after a while. We’re retired so we don’t have a lot of discretionary spending on our ability. It’s disappointing that we're getting what we’re getting for the price we’re getting it. I, however, am pleased with their service reps. Occasionally, my TV glitches and I call them and they help me out.

    We recently called Mediacom to complain about the fact that our bill has gone up so much. Last month, it raised over $20. We called them and they gave us a different package. So, we’re going to try that but it’s about $30 higher than what we could get with Dish. Plus, Mediacom said that we had to take another DVR to get this package even though we didn’t really want. So, they sent the DVR to us. It went with two TVs and we do have two TVs but we don’t use the other one with the DVR. When we got the DVR so that we could record programs, we learned to do that and that was nice. But we also had to take a subscription to STARZ, which added about $10 to our bill.

    When I called and said that we don’t use it and we don’t really want it, they said that we had to have it because it goes with the DVR. However, just the other day we called and the gal said that she’ll just take it off. So, I don’t know what’s going on. Also, we’ve got to turn the DVRs in when we change services. So, it’s something we've got to keep track of. Eventually, we made the change in the package and it was supposed to take our bill down to about $117 but we got the bill yesterday and it was still about $140. I don’t know is if they will adjust this the next time. If they don’t, I’m going to be mad because the bill we got is for the service for February and we made that change about January 30th.

    When we called in though, everybody was really good and they’ve always fixed issues. Their rep was very nice and helpful. However, when we go to their Knoxville office, we can’t get any answers for anything. My husband likes some of Mediacom’s older channels like WGN and TBS and some of those old programs. We also like the Sports channels and the Big Ten. These are the main reasons why we have stayed with this package but it does force us to get a lot of channels that we never look at. And, they can’t seem to tailor the bill down to what we use and actually want to pay for. If the new package doesn’t go well, then we’re going to switch.

    I needed to use a VPN and Mediacom is the only one that has it in my area. I've had the service for a long time and I spoke to them last week as I wanted to get rid of Mediacom or lower my bill and they tell me they can't do it. Right now, I want to get rid of the cable and just have the internet and they told me the internet would cost me $60 a month. I am very dissatisfied. If you are hooked up with Mediacom, it would be cheaper for you to cancel. Pay the cancellation fee and come back and get what you want.

    With the cable that we had when I work nights from home, the TV goes off for a certain hour. We had to wait for the next morning for it to come back up and I didn't like that. So we went back to Mediacom and got the basic cable service and the internet from them. Their sales team were good and friendly. The contractor who came to do the installation was nice. However, when I came in with my grandson, I took off my jewelry so I won't stress the baby and then put it in the box. Then I saw that the jewelry box was half open and both of my jewelry was gone. The contractor took them and Mediacom did nothing about it. I still go to that jewelry box and look.

    But other than that, the quality of their service is good and the channels are okay. Some of the channels we don't get since we have to pay more. My boyfriend watches sports on it. I like game shows but we don't get that many games shows on the service we got. I wish I could lower Mediacom's price since it's super high. Still, I would tell others that Mediacom is good but they have to watch the people who does the installation. They've got to walk around with them.

    Mediacom’s pricing was cheaper than what I had before. I have a computer and a phone, and the phone is a bit of a problem because if the computer goes out, the phone goes out. They’ve got to be reapplied back to each other, and I wish they were separate. I had to call Mediacom and when I finally got through and got a reason why, I learned that it was a major problem somewhere. Other than that, my experience with Mediacom has been fine.
