    When we first got it, the internet service was fantastic. As the months go, things have gotten slower and slower. Other than that, the service is good. They’ve gone out of their way to help us in bad situations. We had something pop up where we had a scammer posing as Mediacom and they did due diligence before the scammer could scam us. Definitely hats off for that one. Mediacom is great to deal with.

    Mediacom is very good overall. I'm loyal to them because they've done a pretty good job. When they say people are going to come out, they come out on time and keep things well updated. But I agreed to an installation of an improvement of the Wi-Fi in my home. The techs installed it but somehow, I haven't been able to get my Wi-Fi connection to my thermostat. I've worked back and forth between Mediacom and the manufacturer of the thermostat, Honeywell and it's hard to figure out what's going on and it's a real pain in the neck. Other than that, the techs are knowledgeable and very pleasant to work with. Some are a little better than others at diagnosing things but that's to be expected. But the standard has been very good and they're punctual. Mediacom is a well-run outfit.

    On June the 8th Mediacom was working on lines down the street from me (I was notified there would be an outage). When service was restored, there was a problem with the service. I called for tech support and was told a repairman would have to come to my home to repair the problem and was given a date. The repairman came and told me he did not do the kind of repair needed and left, I called tech support and was given another repair date and he came and after 4 hours he said it was fixed and it was. When I received my bill I was charged for two service charges which I felt was wrong. I called and was told I would receive a call back in 24 hours, I have not receive any call back.

    I only have the internet service with Mediacom and I've dealt with them for several years. Their individual is always nice. Sometimes, the cost goes up and then it readjusts. But during the pandemic, when I got my bill, it was way more. I get a text message I’m paying my bill and they got my email and my phone number but I never received anything saying that I was going over my limit. I don't check my usage because I had never gone over before. So, updates are needed. Also, Mediacom needs to look into their boxes. The Wi-Fi boxes, the modem and the router go out fast. But the internet is great and they send you a box so you can pick one up.

    We've been in this house for 17 years, and I’ve been with Mediacom since before it was Mediacom, but I’m not satisfied with it. I’m now on a fixed income, and it's starting to be too expensive that I'm thinking of other directions. I have the bundle with the phone, the internet, and the cable.     When we called Mediacom we were assured that a specific channel would be in the package we ordered. It wasn't and in calling back about it there would have been a $40 increase on the package. So we were lead wrong. The technician explained NOTHING. He didn't say two words, got the work done but explained only if I asked him a direct question. Also he left everything where he unpacked it, left bushes he had cut back and said nothing about it.

    I have notified Customer Service 3 times about the green boxes that cover the connections. It is quite obvious that this is not understood by the service technicians or there is no pride in the presentation of the equipment. The boxes are rusted, bent over, and the cables are just beneath the cover's edge waiting to be cut through causing an outage. My neighbor has a temporary line running between our houses that I have to move to cut the lawn. I have been a customer for quite a while, but based on the total lack of response to this issue, I am considering changing to a provider that addresses customer issues. If a technician has ever come out, I have not been called to inform me so I could explain the issue. My number is **. There is an answering machine if I miss a call. There is also a problem with my phone service that took several technicians to trouble shoot. The end result was they disabled my door bell. It hasn't worked since.

I have had several different companies over the last few years with moving and none of them have had this many outages in such a short time and the outages last for hours.     I have only had service since the the second week of June. Since then, I have had to reset my modem 7 times to reestablish an internet connection. I travel often and rely up online security systems to monitor my home. The major disappointment is not that my service is so intermittent, but that the modem does not automatically reestablish internet connection once the signal is lost. This defeats having online services if an individual must be present to manually reset the modem after network loss.

    Went thru robot tech, then got a person did not fix my problem, was transferred to someone to schedule a service call. Kept putting me on hold, said their network down. Then after on hold for a while phone disconnected. My router/modem has an intermittent problem, I have to unplug it, plug it back in, it works sometimes for a minute up to 2 days then I have to do it again.

    Our repair man was helpful but could not restore missing channels. After calling Mediacom office several times, people kept saying they would check it out, but things never improved. Eventually, they said those channels were inaccessible but would get back to us. Didn't happen. It would be a great idea when new promotions are started if the company would give us a list of the channels we are suppose to be receiving at the beginning of the promotion. We don't plan to keep Mediacom when the present term is complete!

    Customer service differs in quality of knowledge and overall satisfaction for customers. I have not had a very negative experience but rarely experience anything great. Most issues are in reference to internet service where the internet is slower than expected, intermittent service, or without any service. It’s very difficult to have issues resolved without waiting days for a technician to come out and check equipment and lines. Recently upgraded to a higher internet service package and the quality of service has decreased to lower speeds.

    Although it took almost a month to get everything completed after multiple calls and people not greeting things done the right way the first time, I am overall happy with the service.
    Suggestions:
    1. You need better customer service.
    2. Lower the hold time to speak with someone.
    3. Do the job the FIRST time.

    4. You need to provide directions on how to use the remote. I still have no idea how to do things that should not be that hard to figure out.

    My internet is not working. I got Mediacom 3/2020 and have barely any issues when working from home = This last week has been horrible. I have checked with my job & they stated it's a MEDIACOM issue. I'm losing money as I'm not able to connect to my internet from home and every time I call a customer agent keeps telling me they can't help me or send out an tech without charging me.     I received my upgrade modem because my old one wifi was constantly going in and out. My new modem is still doing the same thing, wifi constantly going in and out. I have called in twice in less than a month and both times they had to do a reboot to my modem, but it only last for maybe a day and goes right back to how it was. I don't have 5G devices, is this why?? Outsourcing your calls to people who have no clue and reading scripts to help you is very frustrating & ridiculous.

    Had scheduled an installation appointment on Monday July 4th, 8am-12pm. We have not moved in to our house yet, so we had to drive up from an hour away at 8am on a holiday. We waited close to noon, and never got a call/text from the technician. We called customer service and were told that our appointment had been rescheduled for us (without giving us any notice). We needed internet (we will both work from home after moving in) before the next Monday, but the next available day is Tuesday July 5th. We are also told it’s required to have someone in the house for installation to take place. We still work from the office during the week, so we had to have a family member wait around in our empty house waiting for the technician. It’s 11PM now and still no text/call from the technician.

    I got Mediacom satellite and I didn't want satellite because you pay for more channels than you really need. But I had no problem with Mediacom’s service or reception until this year. When my big screen gets hot, it gets distorted. Aside from that, I lose most of my channels sometimes and the TV says, “Be with you momentarily.” And last night proved that I was right and the certificate at Mediacom is wrong because when this rainstorm hit, the TV just came on like somebody flipped a big switch. Something in their system was getting hot and when it started thundering, the TV all worked right.

    My aunt in Harlan, Iowa also has Mediacom and her service technician said that when the sun hits the satellite right, it'll sometimes disrupt channels and make them cause issues like the one I'm having. But when I told the lady at Mediacom about that, she disagreed. She said there was no sense in replacing the cable box and that if she took it out, she was going to give me the same cable box that I have.

    Then, when the tech guy came out, he didn't take the cable boxes. He changed the main service box and some connections that were old. He thought he fixed the issue but he didn't. He said that the cable box doesn't really affect my cable TV and that the issue I was having has to do with Wi-Fi and internet mostly. He replaced a couple junction boxes outside that we thought maybe were old and which caused that. But when something's acting up in your home, it doesn't only act up during the day and work fine at night. You don’t have to be a technician to know that.

    I've had Mediacom for the 21 years I've lived here and the service has been fairly smooth, but my other neighbors have had multiple problems. In fact, my girlfriend on the other side of the development has had to do a reset, while I've had minimal. The techs have been really good. They're very friendly, thorough, and they take their time and answer all my questions very well. Mediacom's customer support has been pretty good as well. On occasion though, I get someone who doesn't speak very good English and it's very hard to understand them.

    I have the internet, phone and cable bundle, but as much as I've enjoyed Mediacom's good service, they're charging too much. When the price went up a couple months ago, I did a math calculation and the rates since last year were up 20%. Lately, the bill has been $216, and it was 167 a year ago. That's almost 50 bucks. Because of the fact that rates have gone up so high in the last year, I'm considering the alternative, which is Comcast, which is now in here. My three neighbors behind me have said the same thing recently and they want to switch over. My girlfriend is very upset about the rate too, and she also wants to go over to Comcast.

    I have Mediacom's cable, TV, internet, and phone. The service is okay. But I'm thinking about just going with internet. It's just a lot of money out of my pocket. $190 a month. Plus, it's a house that I'm not there often. And I found that some of the shows that they have there are not shows that I get from Comcast at my other house. So, a lot of the good channels that I watch here are not available down there. Also, some of the people were not easy to work with and aren’t pleasant to try to work with me. They just want to put me off and say, “Oh, well. That's all we can do for you.” This lady said, “Let me check and see.” And she took all of her patience. So, she was a 10. But 90% of the time, their people are not pleasant.

    There's no service available at my address. I'm going to cancel at some point. Whatever this is for is at my old address. It probably has something to do with the poor condition cable in the yard that was never done correctly by the last tech, several years ago, that failed as soon as he drove off. I couldn't get them to replace the bad spliced cable so I could bury it properly. Out here they won't even talk to me about running hardline 1800 ft from the pole....The local manager won't even talk to me. He only gave me a contractor quote of $25K.     I moved into a new apartment complex and for some reason, they had all the wiring underground. They told me that it was already connected for cable and internet. But when Mediacom checked, they said it was not wired. When Mediacom came out about six months later, there were new underground cables and I’ve had the service since then.     You sent me on a wild goose chase to Red Oak IA by assuring me the office was open 8am-4:45pm. I got there on Thursday and the doors were all locked up. There was a sign on the door that they would be closed on May 18 and May 26 — so they knew at least since May 18 that they’d be closed on the 26th. That was a wasted trip. I went back to Red Oak on Friday and got the new remote. It didn’t work and could not be programmed. A very nice tech came on 5/31 and had to throw the remote you gave me away and give me a new one. We were one full week without TV at 208 W Thomas. You need to credit my mother, Phyllis ** for that. Not to mention, gas and mileage for 2 trips that were entirely fruitless. You should have sent a tech to begin with like I requested.

    Someone in town cut cable- advertised a city wide outage. In the AM, I was still without internet- called the #, went thru the online chat (totally worthless), finally figured out how to talk to a real person. she sent out a technician within a couple hours. (That was wonderful). He said my modem was fried and he replaced it. I got the internet back however it wouldn't work with my company's internet. Now I don't have wi-fi as the only way we could get it to work is if it was bridged. I have tried talking to multiple people at Mediacom. The technical service people don't know how to talk to someone that is not a techy person. I can't wait until I can get another internet provider who can actually fix this situation for me.

    The Internet will shut off just unexpectedly and then turn on unexpectedly and every time it does that I had to keep rebooting the system and then the buttons on the little red box will keep blinking red instead of white so I don’t know what’s wrong with it and the guys that came to the house were really really helpful but it still didn’t help.     I called to cancel our cable service because nobody was watching cable in the house, only using streaming services and because the bill kept going up each month. The person I talked with was very pleasant and took care of the issue. Then the internet went out. I called back to find out that the internet had been turned off along with the cable. After a couple of hours it was sorted out and the cable works again. However, now the internet seems much slower and not the 1 Gig speed I signed up for. The best speed I've since the cable incident is around 120mbps, on the same setup that was previously much faster (500+).

    The quality was fine. It was the price that went outrageous. Mediacom Cable overpriced themselves to the point that a person couldn't afford to have it anymore. When your bill goes from $181 to $300 in one month, it’s that much of an increase. That's a car payment. And if you're on fixed income, you can't afford their services anymore. And I couldn’t. That was why I couldn’t go into using them. I might go back to them if I can get a decent deal. But every year, they went up. And the biggest jump though, was this year. I'm streaming TV using their cable. And I've had to up the coverage on it already. I'm hoping that this last up is just going to solve the problem. Otherwise, there's one other company in town that does internet that I’ll look into. Because I started with the new company, this is June, in May.

    I called to have a Mediacom line taken down in order to remove a big tree. The tree company came, but Mediacom never showed up. After hiring someone else to take down their line, I called to get it hooked back up after the tree was removed, but when the Mediacom guys FINALLY came, they refused to hook it back up. They said the line wasn't long enough and just left, never to return. After 6 days with no internet or TV, I asked the tree company to hook the line back up. It took him 5 minutes to do what the lazy Mediacom guys refused to do. The line was plenty long enough. I called Mediacom back to complain, but they didn't seem to care. Slow, inefficient, and poorly trained or lazy technicians. Very FRUSTRATING to deal with these people, and it generally takes a week to get service, if your lucky enough to get it at all.

    Mediacom service is terrible. Their people on the phone don't really care. They know their service sucks and don't care, you can tell it's culture of this company. You can get them out next day for service, but if it goes out, you have to wait 1-2 weeks to come out to fix it. My house and the house next door are out. Both worked yesterday, both stopped today. It will be a week before they will come out to fix it. I traveled 700 miles to this house and planned on working here this week. If this was the first time, I may have more understanding, but this is the 4th time in over a year.

    They keep charging things that we don't want. They had a charge which I had $26 reduced. But we got the new bill and they raised it $12. They just deducted the $26 within the last two weeks and we paid it. They told me that's what the bill was. Now the new bill comes and it's 200 and some dollars instead of 196. This has been going on for years and I'm getting fed up with it. So, I'm about to change providers.

    Also, the reception is questionable. Our internet goes out. I lose voice for 40 seconds at times in the channels. I'm not happy with the service. A year and a half ago, I told them the speed of our internet was slow. So they said they did something automatically for an extra $10 a month. That had zero effect. I called them after a month or two and they canceled that.

    I'm having problems with my TV. The guide keeps getting screwed up and then it gets stuck and I can't get anything. The only way I can get to a channel is if I manually use the remote.     The service is usually very reliable. But the speed at times would be cutting on and off. I have items on my modem and router and sometimes Mediacom blinks, then it goes off, and I have to reset everything. I've had a problem in the cold days that we had in the last few weeks and the guy that came out said that some of my plugs were old and outdated. The guy was wonderful. But Mediacom never went to the big box in the back, which I'm the only one hooked up to. It was bent over and the cover's been off of it. The previous two other repairmen didn't even bother to put the cover back on. But this last guy put the cover on, but he didn't test it out. He said it was all testing okay up here by the house.

    I've had to call in to Mediacom every year for the past 4 years to rebundle my service because my prices increase by more than what I was told they would when I sign up. Every year, I've signed up for the package where my prices are supposed to increase by $10 per year and cap at a set value, and every year they jump by $20 as opposed to $10. Previously, this has been nothing more than a mild inconvenience as all I've had to do, and have been recommended to do by Mediacom customer service reps, is to call in and rebundle. This isn't my favorite thing to do, but it's worth it and everyone has been courteous and helpful.

    This year, it turns out there is no bundle for me to sign up for. Not only that, but allegedly, there's no "package" in the system that I agreed upon. I was told that it would increase $20 for this year, then $30 next year, and it would just adjust to meet market value after that, with no agreed upon cap value or term. When I asked if I could be notified when the next bundle or package would be available, I was told there's no way for the company to notify me. Not through email, text, or phone call, even though I can receive bill payment notifications via text.

    I was told the only way I can determine if there's a bundle available is if I, as a paying customer requesting information from Mediacom, go to Mediacom's website, and check it myself every now and then. This is absolutely ridiculous. Why would anybody agree to pay these insane prices for internet, especially when a package that I signed up for can't even be honored. What would compel me to stay, when I can simply pay for a different internet provider. At the prices Mediacom wants to force me into, it would be cheaper to pay for a hotspot plan from Verizon.

    I contacted Mediacom to see if our monthly bill could be reduced. Heath found that if we moved from 300GB to 100GB data a month, it would significantly impact the monthly bill. That may not work for users who stream a lot but it's fine for basic users.

    It took 2 and 1/2 weeks to fix a bad cable. The cable continues to be run underground through the MIDDLE of my neighbors yard instead of along the road.     I have had paperless billing for years. But for the last 3 years in a row all of a sudden in the spring or summer I get a paper bill and I'm unenroll from paperless billing.     They were able to resolve the missing channels but after 24 hours lots of channels were tiling again. This has been an ongoing problem for almost a year. They promise me they will fix it, but never do. No one seems interested to come after the technician has been here and we get many different reasons for the problem.

    Was pleasantly surprised when the tech showed up within an hour to hang a new cable from the pole across the street to our house. Upon completion, the tech said another tech would need to come and replace something over on the pole due to some interference. When the 2nd tech arrived he said all that needed to be done was cleaning the connections, which the previous tech should have known. He also said there was a cracked piece for the TiVo in the box that should have been replaced, and he also asked me if we approved the previous tech screwing the cable on to our siding, which we did NOT.

    I will concede that our siding is old and kinda crappy, but the more I look at how he ran the cable the more I’m like, that was a really bad decision on his part. The 2nd tech was appalled and even took a picture and sent it to his superiors. At the end of the day, I was very happy how quickly our issue got resolved, but wish the 1st tech would have made better choices.

    My original service was changed from 100-1000 to 200-1000 and I could not go back which resulted in a rate increase. The service person made a mistake and I should not be penalized resulting in a higher cost. I expect to be offered the original rate of $39 vs the new rate of $69.
