    I called Mediacom Loyalty to see what they could do to lower my bill that jumped from about $240/month to about $320/month. Stated maybe a $5 or $10 dollar discount. I stated I was not pleased at all, having been a customer since 1987. The call ended. I then received a survey and filled it out and emailed it back. I figured like most other companies that get statements, it would be ignored or fall through the cracks. Was I ever surprised within a few days, received a phone call from a very nice person, whose name I did not write down. She had already done some work and found she could reduce the bill to about $275/month or so. Impressed? Absolutely.

    Been a customer since 1987 in Mound, MN. Our bill went from about $240/mth to almost $320/mth. Called to find out if Mediacom really values our 35 years of being a customer. Apparently not, said they couldn't do anything. If I quit being a customer, waited a little while, then became a new customer, I would be paying far less. Doesn't make sense to lose customers and not give them current new customer deals. Just my 2 cents worth, for whatever it's worth.

    Throughout having Mediacom when compared to other internet providers there have been a lot of internet outages which prohibited the use of internet for most of the time. It took them quite a while to solve too. The customer service was good but didn't really help that much.

    This is my 3rd time having mediocre-com. The first time was when we were living in a place that had a contract with them, and it was fine because the building would take care of everything. The second time was after we moved to our first house and thought it would work. We had connectivity issues over and over again and they assured is that it was our fault. We even bought a new wireless router because they knew it had to be on our end. Nope. Had a tech come out and finally look at the connection at the pole and he said it was all on them. By that point we had switched to DSL and used that for 7 years before we had to switch back because our internet demands needed more speed because we were both schooling at a distance. Worked fine at our old house but since we have moved there 6 months ago we have yet to have a month without an outage.

    When the tech came to install our service he said that there had been an issue with the hub and Mediacom doesn't want to pay to fix it. So we have had to use our wireless hotspots on our phone in order to be able to attend classes because we have outages. We are trying to be patient and wait for our town to roll out its own fiber connection, but it is very frustrating, especially when the app is never up to date and it can sometimes take half the day for service to be restored. I give it 2 stars instead of 1 because the technicians are great. Other than that, this company is making its internet a hide and seek champion. l because we are constantly trying to find the connection.

    We have internet with Mediacom. It’s a fairly strong service. There were a few drops but we figured it out. It's just we're not getting the full speed we're supposed to get. We're supposed to get gigabyte speed but we're only running under 200 megabits per second. It's really slow. That aside, customer service is great.     I've had Mediacom for years. I have phone, TV, and internet. They are expensive. But their service has been pretty good. I had to exchange my tower because something happened with the towers. I had no problem exchanging that and getting a new one. It was four years old and it just crapped out.

    I want to retrieve email from a specific sender and delete by selecting a contiguous group by selecting the first email to be deleted and the last email to be deleted and that way not need to select them one by one. when I call support they tell me there is not a way to do this!     I called and explained I was looking for a 4K cable box as I had just purchased a new 4K TV and wanted a 4K signal from Mediacom as the upscaling of the service I was getting wasn't providing a clear enough picture for me. I was told I had an old box they don't even use any longer. I asked for the newer updated one. When it arrived and I connected it all together I found it only provides a 1080P quality signal and not the 4K I requested.

    I called AND went to the office with copies of all my bills showing how I was charged twice each month for the same modem rental. They were cleverly disguised with different names. They admitted that yes, I was double charged but said they could not refund me the money that I had overpaid because they didn't go back that far. I had written proof but still they were not helpful. Horrible customer service. I want to switch to a different internet provider. This is terrible fraud and I will report it to the states atty/better business bureau. Can you refund me what I overpaid?

    So I’ve been paying for 300 mbs, then you all upgraded to 600 and I’m getting less than 200. Tech came out and ‘fixed’ my internet. Yet I still am getting 200 mbs to my hard wired Xbox, and only 450 on my wifi speed test. I’m so unhappy that I just let the tech leave. At this point I’m just waiting for Metro Net to get into my neighborhood so I can get what I pay for. I’d say well over 4 years now I’ve been paying for speeds I haven’t been getting. Upgraded my modem to this 3.1 stuff and fixed nothing.

    I’ve been loyal to Mediacom for a long time now. But with changing my speed and charging me more now, to never telling me I never needed a new modem to getting my speeds, down to me calling and trying to change me speeds down to 300 cuz I wasn’t even getting more than 200 and them lying saying they changed it… yes, they said ‘oh we will switch the speed down to 300’ and never did. Kept it at 600. Which is fine, cuz I got a new modem that ‘would ensure I got 600 mbs’… didn’t happen.

    Certain non subscription channels (i.e. Food Network, HGTV, FX, ESPN, NATGEO, etc) produce some error screen to contact Mediacom. Issue has been ongoing since service was started. Several calls to Mediacom Tech reps, who could not send a valid signal to TIVO box for remote reset for some reason. Powered device on/off several times to no avail.

    We scheduled Mediacom for our new home and were very much looking forward to having the internet installed. The technician was very kind, but was unable to do anything as there was a cut line due to construction somewhere within our new neighborhood.     First, I'd like to point out that when I call customer service, the people I talk to are always courteous and friendly, which I greatly appreciate. The issue I've been having is with service. For about 2 weeks, I had been having service interruptions. At first, I could make outgoing calls and the recipient could hear me, but they could not hear me when I would answer incoming calls. I called Mediacom to complain, and they sent a tech out to attempt to remedy the issue. The tech did an equipment upgrade and said we should be good. After the tech left, we still had the same issue of customers not being able to hear me when they call me, but I could hear them, and I could call them back and they could hear me.

    Unfortunately, our service got worse, and no one could hear me, whether I was answering incoming calls, or making outgoing calls. I called Mediacom again, and was given a credit, but still had no working phone line. I was also told that it was BrightSpeed that was causing the issue. Things got even worse after that, as our phones completely stopped working for 7 hours on Tuesday, November 22nd. I couldn't make any calls, and couldn't receive any calls, either. I'm not quite sure how Mediacom expects a business to function with no phone lines, but that's what they expected of us for those 2 weeks we were having issues.

    I really wish that phone lines were *NOT* digital, because the disruption in service we've experienced has potentially cost us thousands of dollars in lost sales. We'll never know how many customers decided to go to our competitors because they just couldn't get through to us on our phone lines. This experience has made me look into other service providers, as I cannot afford to pay $187 a month to lose customers due to bad service.

    I had been working out of town for about three weeks. I was notified from home that the Internet quit working. They were trying to hard start it, but it wouldn’t work so I called customer service. They couldn’t figure out what was wrong with it over the phone so they made me pay them a $50 fee to set up a technician appointment then after I paid the fee, the technician said that the bill needed to be paid. I spent almost an hour on the phone trying to figure out what was wrong with my Internet, and then paid a nonrefundable fee for something I didn’t need. They should have told me right away that my bill needed to be paid. I cannot believe that a company like Mediacom conducts their selves and this way I am very disappointed. 18 years of service from Mediacom and I get incompetence.

    I've been a customer of yours since August 2022, and the pay by phone service has never worked. I put in the last 4 of my SS# (as the system asks) and it "doesn't hear" me. Weird, because after that I have to put in my whole acct # and talk to a person to pay my bill (who are always super helpful, by the way) you should either fix the pay by phone system or discontinue it. If it doesn't work, it's not an option anyway.

    For the past month of service hardly ever had wifi internet at all. Serviceman came to our place and right after he left, same issue. I called many times, plus unplugged and rebooted to no avail.     My credit card was to expire that had my autopay attached to it. I went to the local office around 11 AM. I was the only customer there. I told the lady I had to update my account info. She did not look up my account even though that info was given to her. She said I would have to pay this month and next month to get it set up.     It took 2 Technician visits to get the new 1GB connection to operate at more than 40% capacity. First Technician claimed it was my hardware or setup that was the issue. I found and installed software to test the hardware and network to verify it was working to full gigabit capacity. Then called back and requested another different Technician come work on the installation. He spent several hours plus replacing the modem to get gigabit performance.

    I feel 4 stars is generous considering the amount of time I had to spend getting this to work, plus having to call back and explain that my system proved to operate at gigabit speed and request a second visit.. Really gripes me when the excuse for not working to specified speed is claimed to be my network or hardware when I know it's up to spec. I feel that is a cop out phony excuse and have no confidence in first Technician's abilities. Second Technician was much more thorough and diligent, I commend him for his efforts. I have spent many years working in Information Systems at a hospital, supported 700+ workstations with network connections. I know when someone is feeding me a line regarding network & workstation issues.

    We've been living in this area for a while and we went with the internet that Mediacom provides. It’s what we’ve got here and we don’t get good reception. So, it comes and goes.     Used Mediacom in 2013 for a few months, unplugged box and returned for refund. They went away and came back as Xtreme, even worse in 2020. Lied to me about the program and what I would get and programs I would (never) get. Took 2 months (have all dates documented) to get service hooked up and still never worked. Installer used splitters to connect cables, left wires hanging in utility box and walked out during hookup?? Customer service didn't care, said they would send someone out in 2 weeks!!

    I'm a disabled senior on a fixed income, my 19.99 special went up on first bill, forced to pay for maintenance fee or they would charge 75.00 every time they came out to fix a service that never worked. I was looking at a round white circle or snow on my TV for 24 hrs, I had to drive down the street to use internet on my phone. They ended up blocking my phone number, texts and email access, while I was making payments, charging me for the equipment before they even asked me to return it. I ended up with over a 700 bill and sent to collections.

    I have texts, pictures, copies of bills and recordings to back all this up. DO NOT USE MEDIACOM/Xtreme under any name. Disgusting company, does not care about its customers. I couldn't return their equipment in 2020 and parts of 21 due to Covid closing mailing facilities. Plus between surgeries and hospitalization I have been unable to carry equipment box or drive. I want this box out of my house. Only reason I'm writing now is because they are advertising on TV again. Do not be fooled by 19.99. Use Dish, Frontier or Verizon. Direct TV is part of Mediacom and liars also!! That story is too long to tell here. Thank you.

    I have the internet, telephone, and cable through Mediacom. The phone was terrible. I could never use the phone, but I was still paying $50 a month for the phone. It takes a long time to get through before I can get to a real person and almost everything I wanna do, I wanna do it with a real person. The troubleshooting guide that the automated system has is so old-school technology. They need to have an option to say, “Hey, you've already tried everything. Go right to a representative.” That would be helpful for customers like me that have been around long enough to know what's going on.

    Right at this moment, we have just the internet but at one point, we had internet, cable, and phone. The phone got to be unnecessary with the advent of cell phones and the fee ballooned to 20 from $5 a month when we first signed up. It was a silly amount of money to pay for a landline. Also, our cable got to be outlandishly expensive and I continued to not be impressed with the fact that I have to tie my cable with a package. I should be able to pick and choose the channels that I want and that's all I should have to pay for. The lowest price package is $80 to $90 a month and it's a whole bunch of channels that I don't want. I'd like to see much more of an a la carte channel lineup system. When I called the Mediacom help center to discuss lowering my bill, they suggested dropping the cable and going to a streaming TV service. For them, it works out better because then they can sell me a higher-grade internet package. Mediacom somehow made a few more dollars with that but it lowered my bill.

    I started receiving text messages at 9:31 on Tuesday morning because the internet problem that I was having was fixed on Monday. At five different times, I told them to cancel the tech. I did not need the tech. I put the letter X where it said if you needed to cancel, put an X. But the tech still showed up today. They were not responding to my text messages back or my response to their questions about canceling. The tech guy that was here was super awesome. He got on the phone, immediately called, and got it all taken care of. But my thing is, after two days of me responding to them three times a day to cancel, they never did.     The service is not very consistent. When it's good, it's good, but it goes out all the time. The longest has been a day. It's usually back up within a couple of hours but it happens a lot. Also, there has been a couple of instances where there were changes made to our account that I didn't ask for. That kind of bothered me. They chalked it up to, “Oh, well, you're saving $30 a month now,” but we didn't ask for that program, to begin with. And I was going to change my package around because all we use is the internet but that would cost me more than having the internet, phone, and TV. I don't understand that. I’d tell others to try somewhere else, depending on what they need the service for.

    The Mediacom reps were trying to sell me other stuff when I was just trying to move my service so that got on my nerves. The rep told me that it was gonna be two days just to make sure that the address is not serviceable. Nobody ever told me that. I had to call them and then, they told me they're not gonna stop the billing until seven days after that, even though they were supposed to call me to verify that the address wasn't serviceable. I called that second time and I had to call a third time. But as far as when we had the service, it was fine. It was very fast. Outages happened here and there but it wasn't too bad. It's just the ending that got me a little frustrated and the robotic answers I was getting. They were not listening to what I was saying.

    It would be nice to be able to watch others on Major League Baseball. But one problem I have with Mediacom is getting to a real person if I have a problem. I can't understand some of them. Also, we had CBS and NBC and both were out. I kept calling Mediacom. One time they said it would be on at noon. At another time they said that they didn't know what the problem was. The technicians were working on it. I finally called the TV station and they had a transformer that went out. Mediacom should have known because our whole area was without CBS and NBC.

    They went through this whole thing where, "Is everything hooked up?" And they went on and on and I couldn't get out of it. "Unplug your box and push this and push that." That wasn't a problem because I had all the channels, but we missed golf, the world track and field, the 400 relays which my son ran in college. It was disappointing. Other than that, the sales rep knew what she was doing.

    The internet drops off and on and that's frustrating. And like everything in the world, it'd be nice to have the price go down. But in my personal belief, part of the problem is because I have kids, where you can buy channels individually, and that's driving the price up. Other than that, Mediacom's service has been pretty good. But they subcontract people who are the ones who come out and they're not so hot. I had a guy come and do the installation originally. I've done it twice and both times, I didn't know what he was doing, but we had to wait for actual Mediacom people to come back. And they were really good.

    Everything went fine when I signed up with Mediacom but then, I moved and everything went downhill from there. My neighbor down the street has Mediacom and I said I'd be even willing to pay to run the wire from his house to my house. They said they would send someone out and made about 10 different promises and it never happened. So, I finally canceled.

    I have nothing but 5 star for everyone that had help me keep my home number (had 20 yrs.). Centurylink missed 3 appt. In 6 wks no home phone that whole time and buffing, movies stop after 15 or so min. and a lot of the time if there was wifi.

    I just had to return a modem that was mailed to me, but not used. (Since the repairs made by Mediacom took care of the problem with my internet.) I was a little astonished by the fact that I had to open the box myself, and then throw it out in the outside bin myself.

    When we first got it, the internet service was fantastic. As the months go, things have gotten slower and slower. Other than that, the service is good. They’ve gone out of their way to help us in bad situations. We had something pop up where we had a scammer posing as Mediacom and they did due diligence before the scammer could scam us. Definitely hats off for that one. Mediacom is great to deal with.

    Mediacom is very good overall. I'm loyal to them because they've done a pretty good job. When they say people are going to come out, they come out on time and keep things well updated. But I agreed to an installation of an improvement of the Wi-Fi in my home. The techs installed it but somehow, I haven't been able to get my Wi-Fi connection to my thermostat. I've worked back and forth between Mediacom and the manufacturer of the thermostat, Honeywell and it's hard to figure out what's going on and it's a real pain in the neck. Other than that, the techs are knowledgeable and very pleasant to work with. Some are a little better than others at diagnosing things but that's to be expected. But the standard has been very good and they're punctual. Mediacom is a well-run outfit.

    On June the 8th Mediacom was working on lines down the street from me (I was notified there would be an outage). When service was restored, there was a problem with the service. I called for tech support and was told a repairman would have to come to my home to repair the problem and was given a date. The repairman came and told me he did not do the kind of repair needed and left, I called tech support and was given another repair date and he came and after 4 hours he said it was fixed and it was. When I received my bill I was charged for two service charges which I felt was wrong. I called and was told I would receive a call back in 24 hours, I have not receive any call back.

    So far so good. I don't have any complaints. The only thing I would say is that my cable has been above ground since December or January, which would be better if it could be put in ground. Otherwise it's good.

    I only have the internet service with Mediacom and I've dealt with them for several years. Their individual is always nice. Sometimes, the cost goes up and then it readjusts. But during the pandemic, when I got my bill, it was way more. I get a text message I’m paying my bill and they got my email and my phone number but I never received anything saying that I was going over my limit. I don't check my usage because I had never gone over before. So, updates are needed. Also, Mediacom needs to look into their boxes. The Wi-Fi boxes, the modem and the router go out fast. But the internet is great and they send you a box so you can pick one up.

    The internet outage is over but we're still having the internet go off for a few minutes several times a day. It is very frustrating. We may need a new router/modem. The individual that answered the phone was very friendly and helpful.
